Persuasive Research Essay
Crafting a persuasive research essay can be a challenging endeavor that demands a combination
of research skills, critical thinking, and effective communication. The process involves delving
into the depths of a subject, gathering relevant information, and meticulously analyzing various
perspectives. One must navigate through a myriad of sources, ensuring the credibility and
reliability of the information presented.
The complexity lies not only in the assimilation of facts but also in the art of persuasion. The
writer must strategically organize thoughts and arguments, presenting them in a coherent and
compelling manner. Developing a strong thesis statement and supporting it with well-researched
evidence is crucial, demanding a deep understanding of the subject matter.
Moreover, the challenge extends to striking a balance between ethos, pathos, and logos –
appealing to credibility, emotions, and logic, respectively. Crafting a persuasive essay involves
not only convincing the reader of a particular viewpoint but also addressing potential
counterarguments with finesse.
The process is time-consuming, requiring careful planning, drafting, and revising to ensure a
seamless flow of ideas. Precision in language and clarity in expression are vital, as the writer
navigates through the complexities of presenting a compelling case.
In conclusion, the difficulty of writing a persuasive research essay is embedded in the
multifaceted nature of the task. It demands research prowess, critical thinking skills, and the
ability to articulate arguments persuasively. However, with dedication and a structured approach,
one can navigate the intricacies and produce a persuasive piece.

This timeline shows some of the cases that helped women achieve a better position in
society and break the stereotypes of just sitting at home and working.
In the 1970 s feminist activism gained momentum in India. One of the first national

The Journey Of Life Has Changed My Life
The journey of life has thought me to be honest and loyal. As I arrive in the United
States of America in the 2013, it was a dream come through. I made a promise to
my parents that I will be a good child and stay out of trouble. It was tears of joy
when it was time to say good bye to my parents. On my arrival at the Dallas airport,
my uncle was there to welcome me and took me home. On our way home I couldn
t believe my eyes that, the things I see on television am now having physical visual
of them. After a month in United State of America I applied for a community
college because I didn t want to over stay at home since I was in my third year in
University in my country. But after my placement test I was accepted into the school.

Even I believe in hard work pays but this work is hard and is not paying. After three
months of working at the gas I saw there was no improvement in my paycheck and
my manger keeps reducing my work hours for no reasons. So my love for the work
began to fade away and decided not complain about it anymore because the more I
complain the more it get worse. The only option was to quit the job without
informing my manager in case I get a new job that pays well. Something
unbelievable happened at work which changed my situation. After a long and busy
night shift. Mostly I inform my manager before I clock out, for him to know am
not going home with something which is not mine. As soon as I entered my
manager s office, he told me to sit down. I was a little nervous because mostly when
my manager asks me to sit for a conversation that s, there is a problem or a report

and in case If I have seen it I should give it to me. I made it clear to my manager that
I have no ideal of the missing wallet he is talking about. After I left my manager s

Media Influences On American Culture
Media Influenced in American Culture Back in the 1920s people had receive news
and entertainment through the radio, which then in turn out shined newspapers
and magazines. Now day s social media sites have become the most popular form
to get the news and information. The biggest tool in the media that generates
revenue by the millions every day, is advertising. The media has its way of
showing us constructive information when it comes to news channels, travel and
other educational shows. Kids benefit from watching these, since it can boost self
esteem, heighten interest levels in a particular subject, or encourage them to ask
relevant questions. We have a sense of what is happening around us, with a fair
insight about how things work elsewhere on the globe. We can view the world
through the television, even if we are rooted in one spot the whole time. It is a
getaway to places unknown, foreign, and magical with knowledge of what goes on
around us without being physically present in that place. The media in all its forms
can introduce us to creative outlets that can help us better ourselves in different
ways, be it in our personal or work lives. It can change our perspectives and push us
to do more than what we limit ourselves to. It can also help us engage with other
people around the world, and be more open and understanding towards other cultures.
The ability to create relationships based solely on mutual understandings and shared
common interests have fed the social

The Relationship Between Transactional Leadership And...
QUESTION 1
Explain, in depth, the difference between transactional leadership and
transformational leadership. Which leadership style is more likely to lead to
employees affective commitment, and why?
ANSWER:
Before explaining the differences between transactional and transformational
leadership, I want to explore each of the two leadership styles through details.
According to the definition, transactional leadership is focusing on managing and
supervising subordinators by setting up specific tasks and expectations. In most
case, this kind of leadership is based on a system of rewards and punishments,
which could also motivate employees to work hard. On the other side,
transformational leadership is trying to help every individual achieving his or her
potential and make the whole group energetic and enthusiastic by working together
with the followers. Instead of telling employees what to do and when to do,
transformational leaders are more likely to be open mind so that followers feel free
to contribute new ideas as well as solutions. After briefly understanding the
definitions of these two leadership styles, l want to illustrate each of them more
detailed. Staring from transactional leadership, in the real word, transactional leaders
are people who playing the role of controllers and they tell followers to obey their
instructions and commands. For instance, in the previous case study Coach K and
Knight , those two coaches are totally different leaders but

A Discourse Community Have you ever been among people who are very much
like you? That it does not matter what differences you have you all have a lot more
in common. A member of 4 H constitutes a discourse community because of an
agreed set of common public goals, level of membership, and something that
provides information and feedback. An agreed set of public goals for our
community is that as a whole group we do a lot of community service. For a couple

By taking this project for four years it had helped me make a final decision on what I
wanted to go to college for. I was right, I have a great passion for American Sign
Language and learning about the deaf community. The level of membership in 4 H
does not have anything to do with your knowledge or experience. For most people
like myself, we got started in 4 H at the age of five being a cloverbud. I got to go to
the club meetings, participate in them, do activities with older members, and even
take a project to the fair if I wanted to, but it just did not get judged. At the age of
eight I became a first year 4 Her. I got to take any project(s) I wanted, and gave me
a good feeling that I got to pick what I wanted to do. I took a market lamb, sewing
for beginners, and cooking project. I had so much fun working with my grandma
on my sewing project but learnt at the age of eight that it was not something I liked
to do. I cooked with my mom and found I really enjoy to cook. Working on my
market lamb with my older sister was probably the best of all my first year
experiences. I never took another livestock project throughout my fifteen years in 4

amounts of time with it. When I turned eleven I became a junior member and when I
did my projects I was expected to do more with in them. As I
Mary Anne Warren Analysis
Mary Anne Warren argues in the position that abortion is morally permissible
because the fetus is not a person therefore has no rights and not considered immoral
to be killed. I shall argue that Warren s argument in invalid since the claims of
argument cannot be proven. The general argument made from Warren is (1) If a
person, they have the right to life, (2) The fetusis not considered a person, and (3)
Therefore, since the fetus is not a person they do not have a right to life. Also, (4)
A human being needs all the morals of personhood to be considered a person, (5)
An infant does not have morals, and (6) Therefore, an infant is not a person because
the do not have the morals to be considered a person. From the time that Warren s
article. On the Moral and Legal Status of Abortion, was published she had gotten
critiques that her argument appears to justify not only abortion, but infanticide as
well. (Warren, 16) Warren claims that if her argument is valid then infanticide is not
a form of murder, since you are not killing a person. A human being is a person if
they have the previous characteristics of personhood introduced into her argument.
According to Warren... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Her argument does not specify if the same reasoning can be applied to fetuses. Not
specifying which certain traits are needed to be classified as a person opens up
questions for critics saying that it is not wrong for infanticide because an infant is not
more of a person than a fetus according to her arguments. Although her response
about this is that infanticide is not just because it deprives the infants from people
that care about them and can find happiness along their side. A person might want to
raise these infants and the reason why they should be put into orphanages. In the end
Warren s argument is contradicting that infanticide is morally wrong because it

Formative Vs. Summative Assessment
Formative vs. Summative Assessment In today s schools, teachers are trying to
decide which form of assessment, formative or summative, is a better measure of
student s abilities. Teachers are constantly pressured to make sure their students are
doing well on state wide assessments, therefore, making sure their students have the
skills they need to succeed on these tests is extremely important. Formative
assessmentgives the student and teacher feedback as the information is gathered
(Cotton, 2017). Where summative assessments are better for capturing the amount of
material learned and the quality of learning at the end of a large unit or amount of
information (Dixson and Worrell 2016). Teachers are on the warpath researching
which method is the most effective way of assessing students. In the article
Formative and Summative Assessmentin the Classroom , the authors Dixson and
Worrell discuss the differences between formative and summative assessment (2016).

Knowing when to use each is imperative to the success of students. It is the teacher s
job to decide when to use each of the types and subtypes of assessments. Through the
research presented in this literature it has been found that formative assessment is a
more helpful form of guiding instruction. Summative assessment is used to see what
students know about a particular topic at a particular time, such as a cumulative
exam. Students and teachers alike feel the pressure that high stakes testing can bring.
Teachers make all the difference when it comes to testing. So, in order for teachers to
have classrooms where testing is used efficiently they must work diligently to make
sure their assessments are balanced and carefully

Friar Lawrence Is To Blame In Shakespeare s Romeo And
Juliet
The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is a story about two young crossed lovers. Their
love was so strong that they sacrificed themselves for each other. The play which is
set in Verona is a story about a long grudge between the Montague and Capulet
families. This feud causes tragic results for the main characters in the play,
Romeo, and Juliet. The children of each of these households fall in love then
commit suicide. However, they were not the only ones to blame for their death.
One character that is to blame is Friar Laurence, the priest. To start off, Friar was
the adult or the mature person in this situation. When Romeo came to Friar for
advice and to inform him that he has fallen in love, Friar is surprised that he got
over Rosaline so quickly. He tells him to not rush things, but agrees to the secret
marriage thinking it would end the feud between the families. We can see that in the
following quote: Holy Saint Francis! What a change is here! Is Rosaline, that thou

Hydraulic Civilizations and the Philanthropic Industrialists
1. Historical Origins
For many planners and historians the origin of ancient cities has been a source of
fascination and the cause for much research and debate. One theory developed by the
German American historian Karl Wittfogel was that of hydraulic civilizations
(Minnery 2010a). Hydraulic civilizations were described as those whose agricultural
system was reliant upon significant government directed water systems for irrigation
and flood management (Encyclopædia Britannica 2010). Wittfogel listed that Egypt,
India, Mesopotamia, Northern China and pre Columbian Mexico and Peru were
examples of hydraulic civilizations (Minnery 2010a). This paper will focus on the
theories of the Wittfogel s hydraulic civilization and then try to draw ... Show more

One other dissimilarity is that of Brisbane s environment. It isn t arid or semi arid
in fact it was once lined with sand covered beaches and the water was clear and
blue (Our Indooroopilly 2002). Therefore it is difficult to prove that Brisbane has
similar qualities to that of a hydraulic civilization and Wittfogel s theories can be left
in the past with the Old World . 3. The Philanthropic Industrialist
The United Kingdom in the late eighteenth and nineteenth century was home to the
bustling and demanding Industrial Revolution. Factories emerged all over the
country as technology advanced into an era of mass production. In many of these
factories the conditions were unclean, unsafe and ultimately appalling. Some factory
owners however, sought out to improve the quality of life for their workers. These
few are recognised as the Philanthropic Industrialists . They implemented what has
become known as the company town which saw the social and economic qualities of
the township under the control of the industrialist (Pollard 1964). This paper will
discuss one UK example in the town of New Lanark, in particular the philanthropy of
Robert Owen and will examine whether this town and Owen s theories have been
influential up until the present day.
New Lanark in Scotland was initially founded by David Dale in 1785 (The Open
University 2009). The Clyde River which ran along New Lanark s location provided

Comparing Poetry And Architecture During World War I
Poetry and Architecture Throughout WWI and WWII
Introduction
The art of poetry is comparable to architecture, in that each of these artistic
expressions require space and structure. Both are also used as mediums to
communicate feelings, thoughts, and ideas. Poetry acts as a shadow of a building,
revealing the aftermath of architecture and its effect on the surrounding culture. This
essay will argue that the built environment has the power to either hinder or uplift
masses of people, and that these resounding effects on said culture can be determined
through the vessel of poetry. This requires subjective interpretations of literature
within their contexts, and could be misunderstood, and while architecture and poetry
are not always necessarily related to each other, they can be influenced by one
another. Now, we will examine literature pieces produced after architectural works of
World War One and World War Two.
World War One (1914 1918)

that supports establishment of Jewish homeland in Israel, architect Richard

known for fostering the immigration and absorption of Jews and their families from
the Jewish diaspora into Israel, Kauffmann provided 160 different rural settlements

Type 1 Diabetes Essay
There are two types of diabetes that occur not due to pregnancy: Type 1 and Type 2.
Type 1, also known as insulin dependent and juvenile diabetes occurs because of a
genetic hiccup in which the pancreas beta cells can t properly create and distribute
insulin, causing the individual to have to take injections. The second type of diabetes,
Type 2, occurs when the body can t make enough insulinfor adequate function of the
body, albeit from age or weight. In this type of diabetes insulin injections are less
common (although can still be prescribed depending), which is why the main focus
and recommendations will be based on Type 1 diabetic mothers.

Using a population based study, researchers used a Medical Birth Registry in
Sweden, gaining data on about 5,000 type 1 diabetic pregnancies. They also used
approximately 1,200,000 pregnancies deemed healthy as a control group. In studying
these births and the health of the children from 1991 to 2003, researchers found a
prominent correlation between type one diabetic mothers and preeclampsia, cesarean
section delivery, . . . still births, perinatal mortality, and major malformations. On top
of these issues, there was a seen increase in preterm births and cases of fetal
macrosomia among the diabetic group (Persson, Norman, Hanson, 2009, p. [Page
#]).(Persson, Norman, Hanson, 2009)
To get even more specific, a study was done about the sole issue of the number of
stillbirths that result in diabetic pregnancies. Using pregnancies from 1990 2000,
researchers analyzed characteristics of the pregnancy: the mother, her control over
her diabetes, the pregnancy itself, and the still born. Looking through 1300 women,
25 stillbirths were found among 22 women. Within those stillbirths, 9 were caused by
poor glycemic control, with the rest due to explainable (smoking, poor environment,
diabetic nephropathy etc) or unexplainable causes.
To further test how insulin boluses change through out pregnancy, a study was
conducted to test the difference between the use of an insulin pump
George Orwell Socioeconomic Class
As Orwell explores the concept of true tyranny, he also focuses heavily on
socioeconomic class in society. As outlined in the novel Winston reads in chapter
9 of book 2, Goldstein s purported manifesto, Orwell states that there are three
socioeconomic classes the High, the Middle, and the Low that have been present
in society forever. The Party s main philosophy is also outlined in The Theory and
Practice of Oligarchical Collectivism. Ingsoc, or English Socialism, is a political
theory that involves power. Unlike the previous governments of the time, Ingsoc
and the Party s main goals are power. We know that no one ever seizes power with
the intention of relinquishing it. Power is not a means, it is an end. One does not
establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution
in order to establish the dictatorship. The object of persecution is persecution. The
object of torture is torture. The object of power is power. (Orwell 332)... Show more

The Low cannot change their status in life as they are only treated as pawns for the
current Middle to use to aid them in uprooting the current High. After grasping
power, Ingsoc made a point of dismantling the class system in order to stop the
Middle and the Low from revolting once again. Despite the Party s emphasis on
collectivism, these three socioeconomic classes are very distinct in Oceania s society,
represented by the Inner Party, the Outer Party, and the Proletarians. The Inner Party
accounts for only two percent of the entire population and acts as the ruling class.
The Outer Party is the middle class of educated workers. Lastly, the Proletarian
constitutes of eighty five percent of the population and it is the menial working
Relationship Between Stress And Stress
Experiment Paper Introduction During Adolescence, teenagers and young adults
begin to learn to cope and emotionally self regulate. Now distanced between parents
and home, adolescents are forced to adapt to their new surroundings and
psychologically adjust to the new environment. College, provides a unique
opportunity for adolescents to attain an education, and experience new social
settings on their own terms. However, in the process of adapting to a new and
unusual environment, their enters a new variable, and that is stress. According to
the studies and research by Andrew Baum stress is : an emotional reaction or
experience accompanied by physical and behavior changes. ( Baum, A,Singer, J. E.
and Baum, C. S. (1981).Stress has a tremendous effect on one s mental, state,
ability to self regulate , and perform in given situation( Baum,et al. (1981). Stress
also, affects the way one treats others. High levels of stress can lead to tension
amongst others, and tension with one s owns emotions which in turn could be
projected on other people. The following paper examines the relationship between
the stress and emotional self regulation on Bard college students, defining self
regulation in terms of politeness. Students were observed over the course of two
sessions:The first session on November 22nd ( approximately) three weeks before
final exams, and the second session on December 9th, presumably just before the
start of final exams. Students were monitored based on

This has many advantages, such as the fact that double fertilization guarantees that
the endosperm will develop only in ovules where the egg has been fertilized. It also
avoids angiosperms from wasting nutrients. 13.Explain how fertilization in animals is
similar to that in plants.
пѓ Fertilization in animals is similar to that in plants because its first cellcell
change occurs after gamete fusion rises in the cytoplasmic Ca2+ levels as it does
in animal gamete fusion. Also, the plants make a block to polyspermy, which is the
fertilization of an egg by more than one sperm cell, as do the animal s cell s eggs.
14.Describe the fate of the ovule and ovary after double fertilization. Note where
major nutrients are stored as the embryo develops.
пѓ After double fertilization, the ovule matures into a seed, and the ovary matures
into a fruit encircling the seed. As the embryo grows the seed stores proteins, oils, and
starch. 15.Describe the development and function of the endosperm. Distinguish
between liquid endosperm and solid endosperm.
пѓ After embryo development, endosperm is growth to store nutrients. This happens
after double fertilization, when the triploid nucleus of the ovule s central cell divides.
This causes the formation of a milky multinucleate supercell . This becomes
multicellular after cytokinesis. Finally, when the cell walls are completed, the
endosperm becomes solid. 16.Describe the development of
Positive Effects Of Urbanization And Its Effects On The...
Evans Oppong Dr. Nagle ENG 111 30 August 2017 Effects of Urbanization on the
Environment Recent data has shown that the world s total population is doubling;
however, the world s urban population is tripling. In the early 1800s, only 2 percent
of the world s population lived in urban areas (Urbanization; an environmental
force to reckon with). This is a sharp contrast to what we have today. The promise
of ample job opportunities, higher wages, and a better standard of living have
been the main luring factors for attracting people into cities. Today about 50
percent of the world s population lives in urban areas. It is estimated that by 2050
about 60 70 percent of the world s population will be living in urban areas
(Urbanization; an environmental force to reckon with). This growth trend of the
urban populace is troubling since it has tremendous bad effects on our environment
which in turn has bad effects on our health and well being. Transformation of some
parts of the land surface for urban utilizations is a standout amongst the most
irreversible human effects on the worldwide biosphere. It accelerates the loss of
exceptionally productive farmlands, increases energy demands, affects climate
change, and pollutes the land, air and water bodies. These effects of swift urban
expansion go far beyond the urban areas to the surrounding remote areas. With the
rapid urban expansion, comes the demand for more housing. This has resulted in the
conversion of a lot of lands
Lab Experiment On Catalase
Abstract
Catalase is an enzyme needed to break down hazardous hydrogen peroxide into
nonhazardous oxygen and water. This is needed for organisms as the reaction rate
of the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide is too slow to protect cells against the
oxidation of hydrogen peroxide. The purpose of this experiment is to test the
concentration of hydrogen peroxide on catalase and variation in temperature of
catalase to find the optimal values that will produce the highest rate of products. It
was hypothesized that as the concentration of substrates increases, the reaction rate
will as well. The null hypothesis for this is that the substrate concentration will have
no effect on the reaction rate. For the varying temperature of catalase, it was
hypothesized that as the temperature increases, the reaction rate will increase as well
until the enzyme is denatured. The null hypothesis for this is that varying temperature
will have no effect on the reaction rate. The experiment was completed by using a
10mL graduated cylinder filled with water that collected oxygen gas that was
produced by the reaction. From this experiment, one can see that as the amount of
hydrogen peroxide concentration increases, the rate of the reaction increases as
well. The results support this as the average reaction rate starts at 0.00 mL O2/min
for 0.0% hydrogen peroxide and raises to 38.17 mL O2/min for 0.8% hydrogen
peroxide. As the temperature of catalase was increased, rate of reaction continued to

Flatbed Drivers Research Paper
Flatbed carriers encounter sunshine, rain, snow, wind and other elements as they
roll down the road. Drivers have to protect their cargo with tarps and fastening
devices to keep it protected from the weather. Most times, those tarps are large,
heavy, fold up versions that have to be manually hauled to the top of the load. Once
they re in place, they have to be spread out and secured at multiple points on the
trailerbed. This is one of the most dangerous and strenuous parts of a driver s job.
Standard tarps weigh anywhere between 40 and 90 pounds, depending on the size.
They have to be carried to the top of the load, spread out, tucked under and around
the cargo and secured to the truck bed. It s difficult work, at best, especially for
older drivers. Not only that, but it is an incredibly dangerous thing to do. Drivers
must be extremely careful when climbing on top of the load. Falling off the top, or
slipping through cracks in cargo can cause serious injury. ... Show more content on

The roof and sides fold, similar to an accordion, to give access to the trailer s
platform for loading and unloading. Once the cargo is loaded, it travels on side
tracks to cover the load. They don t require the driver to climb on top to cover the
load. In fact, most of the work of covering the load is done from the ground, greatly
reducing the risk of injury. In some cases, the driver may still have to be on the deck
to tie the tarp down, but most times, they can do it from the
British Romantic Poetry As A Revolutionary Part Of
England...
British romantic poetry was remarkable for a myriad of reasons. Not only did it
vouch for a focus on nature in literature, but also showed an increased interest in
both the emotion of the average person, and a heightened esteem for imagination as
well as the wonder and amazement that accompanied children. Of course, it showed
a darker side of the world as well, with some of the more distinguished writers
focusing on the poor and how they lived. Stylistically, there was also a clear influence
from Greek culture, with many poems taking inspiration from Greece s literature and
culture, along with other supernatural aspects that were added in.
In a place where many types of literature found their start, what made British
Romantic poetry a revolutionary part of England s culture? The answer is simple.
Because the genre was so unique, it attracted many different kinds of people, some
of whom would never have been accepted in any other literary genre. For example,
Lord Byron was, by all accounts, an eccentric. His unique mannerisms and his
reportedly very flamboyant attitude earned his hordes of fans who both devours his
work and kept track of his life. Of course, there were more straight laced people as
well, such as John Keats, who started studying to become a doctor and wound up
growing into one of the most loved British poets after his death. Percy Bysshe
Shelley, who was the father of the author of Frankenstein, Mary Shelly, and also a
very controversial figure in English

Persuasive Essay On Concussions
There are lots of athletes not only in the US, but around the world who experience
serious injuries. Among that list of injuries are concussions. If we seem to notice that
they are happening, wouldn t you think that the issue would be dealt with by now?
Well that s not the case, even though there are more technological advancements in
this world today than there ever have been, doctors still seem to struggle with
handling this problem. Does it take more concussions to be diagnosed before people
actually try to understand why they are happening now more than ever? Do more
athletes have to suffer before something is done?
With the immense amount of athletes across the united states, why has the
controversy of concussions not been handled before now? Athletes have become a
topic of deep discussion across the board. All of the injuries happening to the youth
in this day and age are somewhat ridiculous. So many athletes are confounded with
these life altering injuries. I first hand know what it is like to be out of the sport you
love to play because of a severe injury, and these take a long time to heal. It changes
the athletes; things are taken more seriously after the first time experience. Athletes
come to the conclusion that these injuries are actually things that need to be dealt
with in the right manner. Something that has been brought to the people s attention is
that concussions specifically have become more serious and more numerous when
talking about how many young

looking around that people were having a good time. For the most part it looked

Compare And Contrast The Roman Empire And The Han
Dynasty
Introduction
Han dynasty was formed by Liu Bang after defeating his rival Xiang Yu. The war
between them lasted for four years. Changan was the capital city currently referred to
as Xian. Han had two dynasties i.e. Western Han and Eastern Han. Some of the
Emperors that Han dynasty had include Wu, Jing, Wen, Gaozu, among others. Roman
Empire ruled the world from its seat in Italy. Roman Empire used its power to
conquer Europe and extended it America.
Similarities between Han Dynasty and Roman Empire
Both empires used the militarism to expand their territories. According to Gibbon,
Edward, Low, (1960, 201), Roman Empire used its army to fight its neighbors. It
can be remembered that Rome used to fight a series of War referred to as Punic ...

Roads were well constructed thus communication was enhanced. Whenever the king
wanted to pass information to the other rivals, the messenger would not have a hard
time delivering the message. In those eras message from the king had to be accorded
the respect it deserved.
Difference between Han Dynasty and Roman Empire
The two Empires had different originality. Han Dynasty was formed from earlier
dynastic activities in classical China. The main aim for them was to restore political
order in the dynasty in China. Roman Empire was formed with the aim of controlling
of aristocratic landlords. It was politically motivated, with a hope of having the entire
universe to be under its control.
Hughes, (n.d., 234), argued that Han dynasty worked hard integrating the vast
territories as compared to the Roman Empire. The ethnic differences in South China
made it difficult for the integration of the territories the North China was united, and
it did not pose a challenge in the integration process. Despite this challenge Liu Bang
overcome it and was able to unite the divided side and formed Han dynasty. Roman
Empire was united, and inhabitants in their territory were willing to help the
authority through volunteering to join the

I reviewed the medicals and I reviewed the testimony from the last hearing. Basically
I got the claimant to say he had not worked since the accident, that is the main basis
for the fraud claim because we have evidence of him working in the photograph that
Dean took, but I also had him testify that he was honest and truthful with regard to
his work activities and his physical complaints when he spoke to each of his
doctors. So I looked at the medicals to see if there were any discrepancies between
what he told the doctors and what we have on the surveillance material. He
generally complaining about having pain in his neck and shoulder. His shoulder
is sore while sleeping and there is a report of him saying he has difficulty lifting over
his head or it aggravates his pain which I believe was what he told Dr. Delsavio on
03/30/17. In Dr. Weiner s report of 04/10/17, he said the claimant has a limited range
of motion of his right shoulder. He also has neck pain and right shoulder pain.
The materials we have show the claimant using his arms to doing a job which would
suggest the claimant was not fully forth coming with his doctors about what he could
do. Although he did not blatantly do anything that he said he couldn t do but it is
kinda inconsistent with his general complaints of neck and shoulder pain. He doesn t
appear to be in any pain while he is weed whacking. Also, other then the claimant
throwing the fiberglass over his shoulder into the truck, I
Lisa The Iconoclast And The Simpsons
The short story An Enemy of the People and the Simpsons episode Lisa the
Iconoclast both deal with themes of obtaining new information and deciding whether
to then release that information in the best interests of the public based on
consequences that do not only impact themselves but those important to them. In An
Enemy of the People , Dr. Stockmann has discovered information regarding the town
s public baths, that the water has been contaminated and any future use of the
facilities could lead to severe illness. In Lisa the Iconoclast , during Springfield s
bicentennial celebrations, Lisa Simpsondiscovers that the town founder, Jebediah
Springfield is really Hans Sprungfeld, a murderous pirate who had tried to kill George
Washington. In both stories there are also consequences for the Stockmann and
Simpson families. Though there are ultimately major differences as to the conclusion
of each of the stories regarding their decision to withhold or release the information
based on the public opinion. One of the most important themes that both these stories
share is the existence of knowledge that the protagonists believe is important to share
for the good of the community. For Dr. Stockmann it is the baths and their
contamination, for Lisa Simpsons it is the true identity of Springfield s founder. Dr.
Stockmann learns about this new information, after sending away a sample of the
town s water to a major university. When the results are returned, he is shocked to find
Nursing Theories In Nursing
Theories in Nursing
This paper discusses practice, research, and theory as it pertains to nursing. It
explains how important research is in nursing practice. The paper talks about
mislabeling specimen issues that hospital I work for encountered and examples of
similar situations at other healthcare facilities. This paper discuses Florence
Nightingale s environmental theory of nursing care as it pertains to a horrible case
study of parent negligence.
Practice Research, and Theory
To Nursing
Practice, theory, and research are three main components that help to define nursing.
Nursing practice consists of many things such as being a caregiver, advocate,
educator, communicator and provider of care (Potter, 2015 p. 6). Professional
nursing practice and knowledge have developed in part through nursing theories that
help to predict and describe actives for the practice of nursing.
Related and Interdependent and Importance to Nursing
Theoretical models provide frameworks for how nurses practice. Research in
nursing is a systematic process that ask and answers questions to generate new
knowledge. Once completed, the research process contributes new knowledge to the
practice of nursing and help to create the evidence for the Evidenced Base Practice
model. Nursing research improves nursing practice and raises the standards for the
profession . (Potter, 2015, p. 91)

The Nixon County Park Project
Nixon County Park Project
For this course we received a hands on opportunity to view science in an outdoors
setting at Nixon County Park. I attended a training session to learn more about the
practices and procedures of nature education and assisted two grade levels of
children that visited the park. I helped first graders on a nature walk and fourth
graders on an indoor lesson about animals. Both were unique experiences that helped
me learn to become a better teacher of science.
On the day of the training session, I tried to use that opportunity to glean as much
information as possible from the park naturalists. I learned that some teachers do not
take into consideration how much planning and preparation it takes to go on a field
trip and what to do when they get there. Teachers have the responsibility to reach out
to the location they want to bring their students and figure out necessities such as
lunches and where to put them, locations of bathrooms, and how to use their time.
Teachers should attempt to be as organized as possible because then students will
have more time to maximize learning opportunities. The naturalists explained
practices they have seen good teachers use such as brightly colored name tags or t
shirts to identify children, placing students into groups before getting to the park, and
simply setting clear expectations for student behavior. Teachers should make students
aware ahead of time that classroom rules still apply outdoors.

Benefits Of An Limited Liability Company From A Legal...
The LLC remains a limited liability company from a legal standpoint, but for tax
purposes it can be treated as an S Corp. Be sure to contact the state s income tax
agency where you plan to file your election form. Ask about the tax requirements and
if they recognize elections of other entities (such as the S Corp).
Advantages of an LLC:
Limited Liability. Members are protected from personal liability for business
decisions or actions of the LLC. This means that if the LLC incurs debt or is sued,
members personal assets are usually exempt. This is similar to the liability
protections afforded to shareholders of a corporation. Keep in mind that limited
liability means limited liability members are not necessarily shielded from wrongful
acts, including those of their employees.
Less Recordkeeping. An LLC s operational ease is one of its greatest advantages.
Compared to an S Corporation, there is less registration paperwork and there are
smaller start up costs.
Sharing of Profits. There are fewer restrictions on profit sharing within an LLC, as
members distribute profits as they see fit. Members might contribute different
proportions of capital and sweat equity. Consequently, it s up to the members
themselves to decide who has earned what percentage of the profits or losses.
Disadvantages of an LLC:
Limited Life. In many states, when a member leaves an LLC, the business is
dissolved and the members must fulfill all remaining legal and business obligations to
close
Anaerobic Inspiration And Anaerobic Respiration
Introduction According to the book Biology How Life Works, an enzyme is a protein
that functions as a catalyst to accelerate the rate of a chemical reaction; enzymes that
are critical in determining which chemical reactions take place in a cell. Through this
experiment we have measured the anaerobic respiration between yeast and glucose,
fructose, sucrose, starch and saccharin. Yeast cells are living organisms that are used
on a regular basis to make breads or alcohol. They are a great to watch undergo
anaerobic respiration. Yeast metabolize fuels through anaerobic metabolism. Aerobic
metabolism is metabolism that uses oxygen to oxidize the organic compounds and
produce ATP. This function is usually utilized by bacteria, Archaea, and
mitochondria of eukaryotic organisms. Anaerobic metabolism, shown in this
experiment, is known as energy metabolism without oxygen. The only way an
organism may not be able to break down a food source is if the enzyme that is
needed to break down the food is not present in the organism. The potential energy
is some food sources can not be utilized by the organism because of a missing
enzyme. For example, cellulose can not be broken down by the human body because
we do not contain the enzyme with the ability to release the energy.
Hypothesis Our hypothesis in this experiment is Yeast is going to metabolize some
fuels but not others. My prediction for this experiment is that yeast will produce the
most Carbon Dioxide from glucose.

GERD is the short abbreviation for gastroesophageal reflux disease. This condition
is the reflux if acid, pepsin, or bile salts from the stomach into the esophagus.
Esophagitis is the end result of GERD. As mentioned by AUTH (), there are
several risk factors that will increase a parsons chance of experiencing GERD.
Those who are older in age, obese, have a hiatal hernia, and certain drugs or

National Security
In the coming future the use and application of Information Operations are going to
be necessary in order to ensure that the legitimacy of the United States operations in
both the military and national security applications are reinforced. (Richter 2009, 1)
The need for Information Operations has been seen throughout the history of the
operations themselves, and has led to many successes as well as some failures in
their use. (Richter 2009, 1) What has a greater reaching importance to the future
regarding Information Operations, are the enemies that are being faced today as well
as the potential future. Counterinsurgency operations have become a large

Chinese Current Event

A recent study found that an average 1.6 million people die every year in China
because of the growing smog and manmade air pollution that clouds over the country.
While global warming and reducing our carbon footprint has become an almost world
wide effort, China has been one of the main countries associated with pollution
especially air pollution or smog. A research team based out of California discovered
that a majority of people in China are breathing unhealthy air because of the
pollution mainly due to China s coal factories. The smog has also been related to
diseases such as cancer which has killed tens of thousands of Chinese people. Even
with the evidence and studies conducted, the Chinese
Supreme Court Attitudes
Sarah, great post. Justice Sonia Sotomayor definitely has some great experiences and
qualities that belong on the Court today. Many believe that ideologies, party
affiliation and personal views should not be part of legal reasoning in the Supreme
Court (Walker 2013, 31). But realistically, it would naГЇve if one thinks that theses
factors can be cast aside in reviewing cases. It is unrealistic to expect Justices to
forget experiences, preferences and even public opinion (Walker 2013, 31). One of
the first studies to study the importance of personal attitudes of Justices was
conducted as far back as 1948 by C. Herman Pritchett (Walker 2013, 32). Pritchett
discovered that in the thirties and forties that the dissent opinion had become an
institution rather than an exception (Walker 2013, 32). In the early 1900 s... Show

The Justice recently commented that, We re not as diverse as some would like in
many important characteristics, educational institutions, religion, places where we

different Ivy League law schools, no one is a Protestants, and only but one comes
from a coastal state, with the majority coming from New York New Jersey (Liptak
2016). This was not always the case. Supreme Court Justices used to come from
more varied professional backgrounds (Liptak 2016). Some were governors,
lawmakers, cabinet members, law professors, practicing lawyers, and state court
judges (Liptak 2016). As late early Seventies, former federal judges were in the
minority. Now, less than a decade on the Federal bench is a negative. With the variety
and complexity of modern cases, it would be difficult to deny the contributions
diversity can have on society through the Supreme Court. The background,

Candover Clinic Essay
Introduction The Candover clinic is a private patient facility that consists of a
private Outpatient building and its own suite created especially for private patients.
The facility is based alongside Hampshire Hospitals Foundation Trust a National
Health Service (NHS) hospital, which covers a population of approximately 600.000
and covers Hampshire and parts of West Berkshire (Trust Source). Before becoming
Hampshire Hospitals, it used to be known as Basingstoke and North Hampshire
Hospital Foundation Trust, which it earned in 2006, however, as a result of an
integration in 2012 between the North Hampshire Foundation Trust and Winchester
and Eastliegh Healthcare Trust it became Hampshire Hospitals. (Trust Source) The

Although this does come at a cost this can either be made by the patient themselves,
or through their health insurance cover. There are opportunities for people who go
through the NHS to have a room on their own, but they don t always contain the same
environment or facilities. As The Candover Clinic is a new facility it needs to
overcome inter trust relationships, as when it first opened it appeared to have the
attitude that it was a separate unit from the hospital trust and in turn this created a
very negative attitude within the trust. Slowly the Clinic is building an understanding
within the staff to create a better working environment and ensure they are working
for the same goal, which is to increase revenue for the trust and its future.
Technological impacts within the Clinic are it is an innovation for the trust and has
to show that it is beneficial and that it is creating revenue for the trust rather than
causing a deficit. So in effect it has a lot to prove. It is using the latest in
communications to ensure the smooth journey for its
Marxism, Feminism And The Works Of Max Weber
The following essay is an attempt to explain and evaluate Marxism, Feminism and
the works of Max Weber. I will also attempt to relate each of these different
sociological explanations to contemporary society. According to Karl Marx (1818
1883) all the struggles of all societies throughout history are due to confrontations
of power and exploitation. Marx believed that all societies had divisions of class
and therefore inequality as a result of capitalism. He believed that capitalism would
always be antagonistic because one class could exploit another class instead of
working in a cooperative way. Marx was concerned about relationships between
individuals, predominately men, and their access to power; whether this was in
the form of scarce resources such as fuel, food and jobs. Marx believed that
separate individuals form a class only if they come together as a group in a
common interest to battle against the opposing class. In order to do this he
believed they would need to develop class consciousness . According to Marx it is
the self interest of capitalism that is so destructive to society and will always result
in inequality. Marxists continues to discuss class in terms of the stratification of
society and the lack of access of workers to the means of production today. We still
currently live in a capitalist society but debate continues about whether or not Marx s
ideology is relevant to contemporary society. Miliband (1969) said Notwithstanding

Analysis Of The Movie Inner Hoop
The ring itself measures to be 19.4mm in inner hoop diameter, 29mm in outer hoop
diameter and weighs 11.29g. It consists of both rectilinear and organic designs
when taking the ring as a circle, and the designed frame as a rectangle into
consideration. The Ring is completely symmetrical, showcasing expert
craftsmanship in the arrangement of the balanced pearls all around the ring and
symmetric angles of the box proportions. Even the small figure in the ring is
symmetrical, possessing realistic qualities and life like body proportions.
Additionally, the circlet of the ring itself is also unique. The goldsmith displayed
his incredible craftsmanship of the ring by designing the piece with two rounded
indentations towards the back of the ring. This technique presents the incredible
handiwork that went into the creation of this ring. This Franco Netherlandish item
depicts a realistic image as the subject of the work. Engraved in gold, a small male
figure is depicted. He is wearing a small hat, clasping his hands in a very satisfied
way. His stance is very casual with his left knee bent forward almost in an excited
or anxious way. He is dressed in what seems to be lavish attire, and most definitely
does not represent a poor man. A long, rectangular box frames the figure, outlined in
gold and filled in with rich, glossy, red enamel. Surrounding the frame as well as the
rest of the setting of the ring are large, dazzling pearls. Above and below the
rectangular frame, a large
Characteristics Of A Transformational Leader
The type of leader I believe I am now is Management my Exception: Active. I have
a tendency to force my subordinates to follow rules and stick closely to AFI s, OI s,
or regulations. I like when things are done properly and effectively and sometimes
tend to believe there is only one way to do a task. Due to this mentality, I usually
give very detailed instructions on what I wantaccomplished rather than letting my
subordinates figure out some things on their own. During NCOA, I discovered what
type of leader I want to be using the concepts listed below.
In Module 3, I learned what a Transformational Leader is and why this is the
leadership style to strive for. A Transformational Leader molds their subordinates and
allows them to grow within themselves. Subordinates and peers enjoy working with
and for this type of leader, which improves the work center and relationships. This
type of leadership style leaves a positive experience on others and encourages them to
imitate this positive behavior.
In Module 5, I learned the Three Elements of Adaptability: Cognitive Development,
Emotional Development and Dispositional Development. Dispositional Development
is the most difficult to conquer because it requires the acceptance of change in a
positive manner. Accepting change positively pushes others to do the same and
increases motivation and production in the work center. In Module 6, I learned the
true definition of Followership and why it is necessary. Being unable

I. ABSTRACT
Our group investigated wireless security system design for home use. The target
market is composed of lowincome individuals who cannot afford the services of a
security company such as ADT. Ideally the sensornodes would communicate their
status to a base station through mesh networking, however, after experiencing a few
difficulties, only an IR barrier sensor, and a motion detector, powered by
PIC microprocessors were completed along with a sample
program ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The system worked, but did not allow terminals to communicate between each other,
and furthermore, did not deal with our main proposed challenge, which is organizing
the sensor nodes. Because the terminals are not constrained by size or power
consumption, they can be equipped with a transmitter that can reach the base,
without depending on another terminal for a relay or retransmission. Next, in the
model networks, is the cellular network, consisting of both stationary and mobile
sensor nodes. The stationary sensor node, or base, receives the data form the mobile
sensor nodes, and relays it to some fixed network via a wired backbone. The mobile
sensor nodes outnumber the base by a factor of at least a hundred, and are located
randomly.
Yet the only issue they have with organization is encountered in terms of cell to cell
or as they re called, handoffs , as the mobile sensor node moves from the range of
one base station to another. Again, because the mobile sensor nodes are not
constrained by size or power consumption, they can be equipped with a transmitter
that can reach the base, without depending on another mobile sensor node for a relay
or retransmission. Bluetooth 2 is another network model, consisting of a short range
wireless networking system created to replace the cable between electronic devices

Athletic Trainers and Exercise Physiologists
Prevention, recognition, managing, and rehabilitation of sport related injuries are the
primary goal for athletic trainers deal. Athletic trainers specialize in preventing,
diagnosing, and treating muscles and bone injuries and illnesses. Exercise
physiologists develop fitness and exercise programs that help patients recover from
diseases and improve cardiovascular, body composition, flexibility and overall health.
An important point to note is that athletic trainers and exercisephysiologists should
not be confused with fitness trainers and instructors, including personal trainers.
Athletic trainers and exercise physiologists assist athletes with avoiding and
rehabbing unnecessary medical treatment and disruption of normal daily activities.
Athletic trainers watch over athletes in programs to maintain physical fitness and
prevent injury also analyzing, improving, and maintaining the health and fitness of
their patients. Their main objective is to make sure people of all ages and all skill
levels, from young children to soldiers and professional athletes are at their best
fitness level, healthy, and injury free.
Athletic trainers work with people of all ages and all skill levels, from young
children to soldiers and professional athletes. Athletic trainers and exercise
physiologists also organize workout plans, look over patients medical history to
determine the best protocol for that particular patient and supervise physical
examinations before the actual season starts.
Developing A Stronger Home And School Partnership
Effective teachers recognize the need to engage families and communities of diverse
backgrounds and cultures. According to the 2012 MetLife Survey of the American
Teacher, it identified family engagement as one of the most challenging aspect of
their work. Schools and teachers want to develop a stronger home and school
partnership with shared responsibility of the results, but are not always sure of how
to make that happen. Likewise, families and communities have a great desire to
partner with schools but often encounter the structural challenges of navigating the
school system as well mustering the social and cultural capital to navigate the
complex educational maze. Some have had experiences that were negative which has
left them feeling unwelcomed by the school community. This in turn, has led to
distrust and many are hesitant to get involved because of their past experiences.
Several state government along with the federal government have established policies
that require schools and districts that receive Title 1 funds to develop school family
compacts that dictate how these groups will work together to bolster student
achievement. It appears that everyone understands the importance of involving the
community and families in schools.
Currently, in the district where I work, it has room for improvement in terms of
parental and community outreach and supporting community based partnership
programs. While attending conferences addressing this issue, other schools
rite of passage Essay
All people have an experience of ВЎВ°Rite of PassageВЎВ± because it is necessary
to be an adult. What is Rite of Passage? It means a ritual or ceremony signifying an
event in a person s life indicative of a transition from one stage to another, as from
adolescence to adulthood. In the story ВЎВ°Barn BurningВЎВ± by William
Faulkner, Sarty, who was the son of barn burner Abner Snopes, he experienced his
Rite of Passage at the end of the story. Although his decision leads to his fatherВЎВЇs
death, it helps him to independent from his father. I think he made the correct

and his family his parents, two sisters, an older brother, and an aunt had to move out
from the town. The narration describes that ВЎВ°sitting on or among the sorry

family always had been turned around AbnerВЎВЇs finger. I donВЎВЇt think that was
the first time that Sarty and his family exercised by AbnerВЎВЇs power. They
couldnВЎВЇt live common life like other families, and always poor and
uncomfortable because of AbnerВЎВЇs outlaw ness. Therefore, although his family
would be upset when they first hear AbnerВЎВЇs death, after time passes, they would
have better life than before when Abner was alive.
Finally, his decision is for society. People have to follow some rules to live all
together. That is reason why people made the rules, and that is the order of society.
However, some people break the rules and it affects rest of the people in bad ways.
When someone breaks the rules, it shakes other peopleВЎВЇs mind and it could give
people anxiety about their safety. ThatВЎВЇs reason why people punish criminals. In
the story, Abner always breaks the rules and he makes society
Liability Rule Under The Title Vii
The significance of this case revolves around the supervisor(s) liability rule under
the Title VII. The rule under the Title VII act clearly states that employer s liability
for workplace harassment depends upon the status or job title and duties of the
harasser. Summarizing that if the harasser is a co worker the employer will only
be held accountable if negligence in diffusing the intense and awkward work
conditions was found on their part. However, if the harasser is a supervisor, (has
the power to change employee work status i.e. hire, fire, etc.), and the harassment
results in tangible actions towards the employee such as changes in duties,
benefits, etc... the employer is totally liable. On the other hand, the employer is
not liable if corrective measures and procedure were provided on the companies
end, or if the plaintiff ignored or disregarded corrective measures provided by the
employer. Specifically in this case Maetta Vance, an African American women and
catering assistant for Ball State University, after several complaints and attempts
filed a lawsuit again Ball State Universality as a result of a racial and hostile work
environment afflicted upon her by her Caucasian co worker Saundra Davis. This
case was argued on November 26, 2012 and received a decision on June 24, 20013,
which stated that BSU was not vicariously liable for the actions of Davis, due to the
fact that Davis was not considered a supervisor or person of authority, to which she
could have taken

The remnants of the 1830 French revolution provided artists of its time material to
create paintings that depicted the despairs and inequalities of the lower social
class. Several artists became well known for their realistic portrayal of the
hardships and conflicts of their environment. Two artists known as Realists are
Gustave Courbet (1819 1877) and Jean Francois Millet (1814 1875). This paper will
discuss a particular piece painted by Jean Francois Millet called THE
GLEANERS. THE GLEANERS by Jean Francois Millet was completed in 1857.
The painting is an oil on canvas with the dimensions of 33 inches by 44 inches
which would have been unusually large for a painting of this type in that period
since large canvas works were usually reserved
Villers-Bretonneux Battle Analysis

This was a vital, ferocious, do or die attack, and as long as the night advance lasted,

The purpose of the battle was to take back the town of Villers Bretonneux after the
Germans broke British lines to take the town in the morning of the 24th of April. The

Three Different Types Of Conflicts In Short Stories
Types of Conflicts in Short Stories
Short story writing literature is a very important art and has been around for long
time. Every short story will consist of five different elements. These are as follows:
Setting, Plot, Character, Point of View and Theme. In this essay, we are going to
discuss three of these stories and try to look at them from different perspectives. We
will be considering the elements of the stories and how the writers expressed that. We
are going to discuss the different phases and changes that each character in these three
different stories from the beginning until the end with some highlight on the events
and conflicts that lead to these changes. We will start with A Letter from Gaza by
Ghassan Kanafani, then After Twenty Years by O. Henry and last will be The
Scarlet Ibis by J. Hurst. I will give a summarizing overall conclusion at the end of
this essay.

  • 9. The Relationship Between Transactional Leadership And... QUESTION 1 Explain, in depth, the difference between transactional leadership and transformational leadership. Which leadership style is more likely to lead to employees affective commitment, and why? ANSWER: Before explaining the differences between transactional and transformational leadership, I want to explore each of the two leadership styles through details. According to the definition, transactional leadership is focusing on managing and supervising subordinators by setting up specific tasks and expectations. In most case, this kind of leadership is based on a system of rewards and punishments, which could also motivate employees to work hard. On the other side, transformational leadership is trying to help every individual achieving his or her potential and make the whole group energetic and enthusiastic by working together with the followers. Instead of telling employees what to do and when to do, transformational leaders are more likely to be open mind so that followers feel free to contribute new ideas as well as solutions. After briefly understanding the definitions of these two leadership styles, l want to illustrate each of them more detailed. Staring from transactional leadership, in the real word, transactional leaders are people who playing the role of controllers and they tell followers to obey their instructions and commands. For instance, in the previous case study Coach K and Knight , those two coaches are totally different leaders but

I was right, I have a great passion for American Sign Language and learning about the deaf community. The level of membership in 4 H does not have anything to do with your knowledge or experience. For most people like myself, we got started in 4 H at the age of five being a cloverbud. I got to go to the club meetings, participate in them, do activities with older members, and even take a project to the fair if I wanted to, but it just did not get judged. I took a market lamb, sewing for beginners, and cooking project. I had so much fun working with my grandma on my sewing project but learnt at the age of eight that it was not something I liked to do. I cooked with my mom and found I really enjoy to cook. Working on my market lamb with my older sister was probably the best of all my first year experiences. I never took another livestock project throughout my fifteen years in 4 H though. I could not handle sending an animal to its death after I had spent endless amounts of time with it. When I turned eleven I became a junior member and when I did my projects I was expected to do more with in them. As I
  • 11. Mary Anne Warren Analysis Mary Anne Warren argues in the position that abortion is morally permissible because the fetus is not a person therefore has no rights and not considered immoral to be killed. I shall argue that Warren s argument in invalid since the claims of argument cannot be proven. The general argument made from Warren is (1) If a person, they have the right to life, (2) The fetusis not considered a person, and (3) Therefore, since the fetus is not a person they do not have a right to life. Also, (4) A human being needs all the morals of personhood to be considered a person, (5) An infant does not have morals, and (6) Therefore, an infant is not a person because the do not have the morals to be considered a person. From the time that Warren s article. On the Moral and Legal Status of Abortion, was published she had gotten critiques that her argument appears to justify not only abortion, but infanticide as well. (Warren, 16) Warren claims that if her argument is valid then infanticide is not a form of murder, since you are not killing a person. A human being is a person if they have the previous characteristics of personhood introduced into her argument. According to Warren... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Her argument does not specify if the same reasoning can be applied to fetuses. Not specifying which certain traits are needed to be classified as a person opens up questions for critics saying that it is not wrong for infanticide because an infant is not more of a person than a fetus according to her arguments. Although her response about this is that infanticide is not just because it deprives the infants from people that care about them and can find happiness along their side. A person might want to raise these infants and the reason why they should be put into orphanages. In the end Warren s argument is contradicting that infanticide is morally wrong because it deprives form having
  • 12. Formative Vs. Summative Assessment Formative vs. Summative Assessment In today s schools, teachers are trying to decide which form of assessment, formative or summative, is a better measure of student s abilities. Teachers are constantly pressured to make sure their students are doing well on state wide assessments, therefore, making sure their students have the skills they need to succeed on these tests is extremely important. Formative assessmentgives the student and teacher feedback as the information is gathered (Cotton, 2017). Where summative assessments are better for capturing the amount of material learned and the quality of learning at the end of a large unit or amount of information (Dixson and Worrell 2016). Teachers are on the warpath researching which method is the most effective way of assessing students. Knowing when to use each is imperative to the success of students. It is the teacher s job to decide when to use each of the types and subtypes of assessments. Through the research presented in this literature it has been found that formative assessment is a more helpful form of guiding instruction. Summative assessment is used to see what students know about a particular topic at a particular time, such as a cumulative exam. Students and teachers alike feel the pressure that high stakes testing can bring. Teachers make all the difference when it comes to testing. So, in order for teachers to have classrooms where testing is used efficiently they must work diligently to make sure their assessments are balanced and carefully

Historical Origins For many planners and historians the origin of ancient cities has been a source of fascination and the cause for much research and debate. One theory developed by the German American historian Karl Wittfogel was that of hydraulic civilizations (Minnery 2010a). Hydraulic civilizations were described as those whose agricultural system was reliant upon significant government directed water systems for irrigation and flood management (Encyclopædia Britannica 2010). Wittfogel listed that Egypt, India, Mesopotamia, Northern China and pre Columbian Mexico and Peru were examples of hydraulic civilizations (Minnery 2010a). The Philanthropic Industrialist The United Kingdom in the late eighteenth and nineteenth century was home to the bustling and demanding Industrial Revolution. Factories emerged all over the country as technology advanced into an era of mass production. In many of these factories the conditions were unclean, unsafe and ultimately appalling. Some factory owners however, sought out to improve the quality of life for their workers. These few are recognised as the Philanthropic Industrialists . They implemented what has become known as the company town which saw the social and economic qualities of the township under the control of the industrialist (Pollard 1964). This paper will discuss one UK example in the town of New Lanark, in particular the philanthropy of Robert Owen and will examine whether this town and Owen s theories have been influential up until the present day. New Lanark in Scotland was initially founded by David Dale in 1785 (The Open University 2009). The Clyde River which ran along New Lanark s location provided water to power the four

  • 20. Comparing Poetry And Architecture During World War I Poetry and Architecture Throughout WWI and WWII Introduction The art of poetry is comparable to architecture, in that each of these artistic expressions require space and structure. Both are also used as mediums to communicate feelings, thoughts, and ideas. Poetry acts as a shadow of a building, revealing the aftermath of architecture and its effect on the surrounding culture. This essay will argue that the built environment has the power to either hinder or uplift masses of people, and that these resounding effects on said culture can be determined through the vessel of poetry. This requires subjective interpretations of literature within their contexts, and could be misunderstood, and while architecture and poetry are not always necessarily related to each other, they can be influenced by one another. Now, we will examine literature pieces produced after architectural works of World War One and World War Two. World War One (1914 1918) During the Zionist movement of WWI, a national movement of the Jewish people that supports establishment of Jewish homeland in Israel, architect Richard Kauffmann (1887 1958) took his experience of the Garden City in Germany into Palestine. After being hired by the Jewish Agency, a non profit organization best known for fostering the immigration and absorption of Jews and their families from the Jewish diaspora into Israel, Kauffmann provided 160 different rural settlements for Jewish settlers in need of housing. The second type of diabetes, Type 2, occurs when the body can t make enough insulinfor adequate function of the body, albeit from age or weight. Using a population based study, researchers used a Medical Birth Registry in Sweden, gaining data on about 5,000 type 1 diabetic pregnancies. They also used approximately 1,200,000 pregnancies deemed healthy as a control group. In studying these births and the health of the children from 1991 to 2003, researchers found a prominent correlation between type one diabetic mothers and preeclampsia, cesarean section delivery, . . . still births, perinatal mortality, and major malformations. On top of these issues, there was a seen increase in preterm births and cases of fetal macrosomia among the diabetic group (Persson, Norman, Hanson, 2009, p. Using pregnancies from 1990 2000, researchers analyzed characteristics of the pregnancy: the mother, her control over her diabetes, the pregnancy itself, and the still born. Looking through 1300 women, 25 stillbirths were found among 22 women. Within those stillbirths, 9 were caused by poor glycemic control, with the rest due to explainable (smoking, poor environment, diabetic nephropathy etc) or unexplainable causes. To further test how insulin boluses change through out pregnancy, a study was conducted to test the difference between the use of an insulin pump

As outlined in the novel Winston reads in chapter 9 of book 2, Goldstein s purported manifesto, Orwell states that there are three socioeconomic classes the High, the Middle, and the Low that have been present in society forever. The Party s main philosophy is also outlined in The Theory and Practice of Oligarchical Collectivism. Ingsoc, or English Socialism, is a political theory that involves power. Unlike the previous governments of the time, Ingsoc and the Party s main goals are power. We know that no one ever seizes power with the intention of relinquishing it. Power is not a means, it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship. Despite the Party s emphasis on collectivism, these three socioeconomic classes are very distinct in Oceania s society, represented by the Inner Party, the Outer Party, and the Proletarians. However, in the process of adapting to a new and unusual environment, their enters a new variable, and that is stress. According to the studies and research by Andrew Baum stress is : an emotional reaction or experience accompanied by physical and behavior changes. ( Baum, A,Singer, J. E. and Baum, C. S. It also avoids angiosperms from wasting nutrients. 13.Explain how fertilization in animals is similar to that in plants. пѓ Fertilization in animals is similar to that in plants because its first cellcell change occurs after gamete fusion rises in the cytoplasmic Ca2+ levels as it does in animal gamete fusion. Also, the plants make a block to polyspermy, which is the fertilization of an egg by more than one sperm cell, as do the animal s cell s eggs. 14.Describe the fate of the ovule and ovary after double fertilization. Evans Oppong Dr. Nagle ENG 111 30 August 2017 Effects of Urbanization on the Environment Recent data has shown that the world s total population is doubling; however, the world s urban population is tripling. In the early 1800s, only 2 percent of the world s population lived in urban areas (Urbanization; an environmental force to reckon with). This is a sharp contrast to what we have today. The promise of ample job opportunities, higher wages, and a better standard of living have been the main luring factors for attracting people into cities. Today about 50 percent of the world s population lives in urban areas. It is estimated that by 2050 about 60 70 percent of the world s population will be living in urban areas (Urbanization; an environmental force to reckon with). This growth trend of the urban populace is troubling since it has tremendous bad effects on our environment which in turn has bad effects on our health and well being. Transformation of some parts of the land surface for urban utilizations is a standout amongst the most irreversible human effects on the worldwide biosphere. It accelerates the loss of exceptionally productive farmlands, increases energy demands, affects climate change, and pollutes the land, air and water bodies. These effects of swift urban expansion go far beyond the urban areas to the surrounding remote areas. With the rapid urban expansion, comes the demand for more housing. This has resulted in the conversion of a lot of lands
  • 26. Lab Experiment On Catalase Abstract Catalase is an enzyme needed to break down hazardous hydrogen peroxide into nonhazardous oxygen and water. This is needed for organisms as the reaction rate of the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide is too slow to protect cells against the oxidation of hydrogen peroxide. The purpose of this experiment is to test the concentration of hydrogen peroxide on catalase and variation in temperature of catalase to find the optimal values that will produce the highest rate of products. It was hypothesized that as the concentration of substrates increases, the reaction rate will as well. The null hypothesis for this is that the substrate concentration will have no effect on the reaction rate. For the varying temperature of catalase, it was hypothesized that as the temperature increases, the reaction rate will increase as well until the enzyme is denatured. The null hypothesis for this is that varying temperature will have no effect on the reaction rate. The experiment was completed by using a 10mL graduated cylinder filled with water that collected oxygen gas that was produced by the reaction. From this experiment, one can see that as the amount of hydrogen peroxide concentration increases, the rate of the reaction increases as well. The results support this as the average reaction rate starts at 0.00 mL O2/min for 0.0% hydrogen peroxide and raises to 38.17 mL O2/min for 0.8% hydrogen peroxide. As the temperature of catalase was increased, rate of reaction continued to

  • 29. British Romantic Poetry As A Revolutionary Part Of England... British romantic poetry was remarkable for a myriad of reasons. Not only did it vouch for a focus on nature in literature, but also showed an increased interest in both the emotion of the average person, and a heightened esteem for imagination as well as the wonder and amazement that accompanied children. Of course, it showed a darker side of the world as well, with some of the more distinguished writers focusing on the poor and how they lived. Stylistically, there was also a clear influence from Greek culture, with many poems taking inspiration from Greece s literature and culture, along with other supernatural aspects that were added in. In a place where many types of literature found their start, what made British Romantic poetry a revolutionary part of England s culture? The answer is simple. Because the genre was so unique, it attracted many different kinds of people, some of whom would never have been accepted in any other literary genre. For example, Lord Byron was, by all accounts, an eccentric. His unique mannerisms and his reportedly very flamboyant attitude earned his hordes of fans who both devours his work and kept track of his life. Of course, there were more straight laced people as well, such as John Keats, who started studying to become a doctor and wound up growing into one of the most loved British poets after his death. Percy Bysshe Shelley, who was the father of the author of Frankenstein, Mary Shelly, and also a very controversial figure in English

I attended a training session to learn more about the practices and procedures of nature education and assisted two grade levels of children that visited the park. I helped first graders on a nature walk and fourth graders on an indoor lesson about animals. Both were unique experiences that helped me learn to become a better teacher of science. On the day of the training session, I tried to use that opportunity to glean as much information as possible from the park naturalists. I learned that some teachers do not take into consideration how much planning and preparation it takes to go on a field trip and what to do when they get there. Teachers have the responsibility to reach out to the location they want to bring their students and figure out necessities such as lunches and where to put them, locations of bathrooms, and how to use their time. Teachers should attempt to be as organized as possible because then students will have more time to maximize learning opportunities. The naturalists explained practices they have seen good teachers use such as brightly colored name tags or t shirts to identify children, placing students into groups before getting to the park, and simply setting clear expectations for student behavior. Teachers should make students aware ahead of time that classroom rules still apply outdoors. On my first visit, I
  • 39. Benefits Of An Limited Liability Company From A Legal... The LLC remains a limited liability company from a legal standpoint, but for tax purposes it can be treated as an S Corp. Be sure to contact the state s income tax agency where you plan to file your election form. Ask about the tax requirements and if they recognize elections of other entities (such as the S Corp). Advantages of an LLC: Limited Liability. Members are protected from personal liability for business decisions or actions of the LLC. This means that if the LLC incurs debt or is sued, members personal assets are usually exempt. This is similar to the liability protections afforded to shareholders of a corporation. Keep in mind that limited liability means limited liability members are not necessarily shielded from wrongful acts, including those of their employees. Less Recordkeeping. An LLC s operational ease is one of its greatest advantages. Compared to an S Corporation, there is less registration paperwork and there are smaller start up costs. Sharing of Profits. There are fewer restrictions on profit sharing within an LLC, as members distribute profits as they see fit. Members might contribute different proportions of capital and sweat equity. Consequently, it s up to the members themselves to decide who has earned what percentage of the profits or losses. Disadvantages of an LLC: Limited Life. In many states, when a member leaves an LLC, the business is dissolved and the members must fulfill all remaining legal and business obligations to close
  • 40. Anaerobic Inspiration And Anaerobic Respiration Introduction According to the book Biology How Life Works, an enzyme is a protein that functions as a catalyst to accelerate the rate of a chemical reaction; enzymes that are critical in determining which chemical reactions take place in a cell. Through this experiment we have measured the anaerobic respiration between yeast and glucose, fructose, sucrose, starch and saccharin. Yeast cells are living organisms that are used on a regular basis to make breads or alcohol. They are a great to watch undergo anaerobic respiration. Yeast metabolize fuels through anaerobic metabolism. Aerobic metabolism is metabolism that uses oxygen to oxidize the organic compounds and produce ATP. This function is usually utilized by bacteria, Archaea, and mitochondria of eukaryotic organisms. Anaerobic metabolism, shown in this experiment, is known as energy metabolism without oxygen. The only way an organism may not be able to break down a food source is if the enzyme that is needed to break down the food is not present in the organism. The potential energy is some food sources can not be utilized by the organism because of a missing enzyme. For example, cellulose can not be broken down by the human body because we do not contain the enzyme with the ability to release the energy. Hypothesis Our hypothesis in this experiment is Yeast is going to metabolize some fuels but not others. My prediction for this experiment is that yeast will produce the most Carbon Dioxide from glucose. Method The lab notebook [Leady, Brenda. Fundamentals of Life Science II Laboratory Manual: BIOL 2180. Macmillan Learning Curriculum Solutions, 2018.] was used. There were no changes in the protocol throughout this experiment. Results Reviewing the lab results, I came to a conclusion that the readings for each test were all different with just a little similarity between a drop in the mixture levels. The constant was an experiment to have an idea of what the beginning of an experiment is supposed to look like, It is easier to see a difference in change with the constant. • 47. Marxism, Feminism And The Works Of Max Weber The following essay is an attempt to explain and evaluate Marxism, Feminism and the works of Max Weber. I will also attempt to relate each of these different sociological explanations to contemporary society. According to Karl Marx (1818 1883) all the struggles of all societies throughout history are due to confrontations of power and exploitation. Marx believed that all societies had divisions of class and therefore inequality as a result of capitalism. He believed that capitalism would always be antagonistic because one class could exploit another class instead of working in a cooperative way. Marx was concerned about relationships between individuals, predominately men, and their access to power; whether this was in the form of scarce resources such as fuel, food and jobs. Marx believed that separate individuals form a class only if they come together as a group in a common interest to battle against the opposing class. In order to do this he believed they would need to develop class consciousness . According to Marx it is the self interest of capitalism that is so destructive to society and will always result in inequality. Marxists continues to discuss class in terms of the stratification of society and the lack of access of workers to the means of production today. We still currently live in a capitalist society but debate continues about whether or not Marx s ideology is relevant to contemporary society. Miliband (1969) said Notwithstanding the existence of a

The Ring is completely symmetrical, showcasing expert craftsmanship in the arrangement of the balanced pearls all around the ring and symmetric angles of the box proportions. Even the small figure in the ring is symmetrical, possessing realistic qualities and life like body proportions. Additionally, the circlet of the ring itself is also unique. Due to this mentality, I usually give very detailed instructions on what I wantaccomplished rather than letting my subordinates figure out some things on their own. During NCOA, I discovered what type of leader I want to be using the concepts listed below. In Module 3, I learned what a Transformational Leader is and why this is the leadership style to strive for. A Transformational Leader molds their subordinates and allows them to grow within themselves. Subordinates and peers enjoy working with and for this type of leader, which improves the work center and relationships. This type of leadership style leaves a positive experience on others and encourages them to imitate this positive behavior. In Module 5, I learned the Three Elements of Adaptability: Cognitive Development, Emotional Development and Dispositional Development. Dispositional Development is the most difficult to conquer because it requires the acceptance of change in a positive manner. Accepting change positively pushes others to do the same and increases motivation and production in the work center. In Module 6, I learned the true definition of Followership and why it is necessary. Being unable

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The system worked, but did not allow terminals to communicate between each other, and furthermore, did not deal with our main proposed challenge, which is organizing the sensor nodes. Because the terminals are not constrained by size or power consumption, they can be equipped with a transmitter that can reach the base, without depending on another terminal for a relay or retransmission. Next, in the model networks, is the cellular network, consisting of both stationary and mobile sensor nodes. The stationary sensor node, or base, receives the data form the mobile sensor nodes, and relays it to some fixed network via a wired backbone. The mobile sensor nodes outnumber the base by a factor of at least a hundred, and are located randomly. Yet the only issue they have with organization is encountered in terms of cell to cell or as they re called, handoffs , as the mobile sensor node moves from the range of one base station to another. Again, because the mobile sensor nodes are not constrained by size or power consumption, they can be equipped with a transmitter that can reach the base, without depending on another mobile sensor node for a relay or retransmission. Bluetooth 2 is another network model, consisting of a short range wireless networking system created to replace the cable between electronic devices with
