Blade Runner What Makes Someone Human
What Makes Someone Human C. Joy Bell C. once said, There is some kind of a sweet innocence in
being human, in not having to be just happy or just sad, in the nature of being able to be both broken
and whole, at the same time. Blade Runner, the film directed by Ridley Scott, brings one to ask
oneself: what really makes someone human? The replicants in this film are an advanced version of
humans, bioengineered and cloned to be stronger, faster, and smarter than humans. Replicants do not
last long, and are retired before they can evolve to have their own emotions or thoughts, many of them
know that they are replicants, but there are a few who have lived believing they are human. Deckard
shows no emotion when he is assigned to retire ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The replicants themselves are not supposed to be able to feel or understand emotion whatsoever, but
there are however a few newer replicants that have been implanted with memory chips and do not
even know they are not human. Rachael, for example, truly believes she is Tyrell s niece. Some
viewers even believe that Deckard himself is one of these higher technologically advanced replicants
implanted with a memory chip, further skewing the lines between what is human, and what is not.
There are a few scenes that are specifically set to make the viewer question Deckard s humanity for
example; the scene in which Rachael asks Deckard whether or not he has passed the Voight Kampff
test himself, and receives no answer. Another indicator that Deckard is, in fact, a replicant is when he
gets beaten by three different replicants in the later half of the film, yet shows little to no sign of
affliction. Through scenes such as these Ridley Scott builds up the question of Deckard s own
humanity. Producer Michael Deeley points out, Should the replicants kill to gain moral life? Should
Harrison Ford be killing them simply because they want to exist? These questions begin to tangle up
Deckard s thinking... especially when he becomes involved with a female replicant

Kurzweil s Neocortex Essay
From beginning to end, Kurzweil organizes his piece into various topics by chapters. Within these
various chapters, he announces the main idea, and either gives data/research or a story to accredit the
claim. To further his ideas, Kurzweil inserts various rhetorical devices, such as analysis and
assertions/justifications. Lacking any of these strategies leaves the context with no form of
groundwork that potentially allows the substance to deteriorate in approval. Comprehensively,
creating a mind is a vague term that most may not understand right away. Knowing the possibility of
confusion, Kurzweil analyzes every bit and piece of his synopsis through complex analysis. As the
chapter progress so does the complexity of the statements by allowing the ... Show more content on

Throughout the text, the word neocortex is brought up a plentiful amount of times. Over time, the idea
of certain items evolves into complex statements that ll potentially be understood by the reader after
they endure the various explanations over a chapter or more. To exemplify this, the term neocortex
first appears in the introduction; where the basic description of its responsibility to deal with patterns
of information(10). Further along, in chapter three, the same term advances into a labyrinth of
connections. Not only does this mass, that consists of eighty percent of the human brain, influence
memory patterns and such, but that it, is a comparable hierarchy of pattern recognizers processing
actual images of objects...and a hierarchy of concepts... and a hierarchy of thought, (49). What this
means is that our memory is prone to a humans main five senses: smell, sight, hearing, touch, and

The Night Of The Warriors
I was standing on the logo in Oracle Arena, home of The Warriors. The bright lights and vibrant blue
and yellow surrounded me. Then it came to me, i m really going to play here. Nobody was in the
20,000 seats besides the other five teams ready to play and their parents.
I got the chills thinking I was really going to play on the same court that NBA players play on. The
best part was if we win the tournament then the parents and players both get tickets for the game later
on. I laced up my all white sneakers and thought to myself it s gametime.
As the other starters and I took the court, I started imagining myself on TV, as if I were in the NBA.
We won the tip off and Johnny passed me the ball, I looked up and nobody was guarding me. I ...

The ball rolled in and the crowd erupted. I could see my mom with tears in her eyes. The buzzer rang
and my team crowded around me. The event director gave us our medals but more importantly gave us
the tickets for the game later. I then went up to my mom who was elated and showed her the tickets.
She emphasized I knew you could do it son and hugged as if there was an an anaconda around my
body. She then said ecstatically well I know what we are doing later. I said in response let s do it!

As we enter the arena once again, the first thing i could smell was the sweet cinnamon from the
churros. As my mom and I were finding our seat, I was taking in all the food stands that filled the
arena. Eventually, we found our seats and I took a deep breath and soaked in what it felt like to be at
an NBA game. All the security, vendors, people, but more importantly the NBA players. Every time
The Warriors scored the crowd erupted as if they had just made a game winner. Once it was halftime,
my mom and I went to get food. She decided that she wanted street tacos loaded with Carne Asada. I
decided I wanted a ginormous, greasy slice of pizza. As they cut the slice my mouth start watering and
i could smell the cheese and pepperoni as if it were right in front of my nose. I could not wait to get
back to my seat, so I could devour my pizza.
Once my Mom and I were done eating I looked at her and said Thank you. She questioned me for

Unjust And Uninhibited Control In The Daily Prophet
Unjust and uninhibited control is an innate trait of bureaucratism, as a byproduct of an institution s
quest for efficiency. In perpetuation of their lack of limits, bureaucrats create survival networks across
spheres, and thus are more difficult to bring down. In regards to the Potter series, the Ministry creates
a network with The Daily Prophet. Bureaucracy knows no limits, and may take unjust actions. The
Daily Prophet publishing deceiving articles is unethical by general contemporary standards; however,
by bureaucratic definition the institution is self justifying, and defines themselves as the most rational
organization. The Ministry believes that they have proper justification in using the newspaper to their
advantage, and the newspaper plays along. In doing so, they expand past the boundaries between
public and private affairs by exploiting Harry. The Daily Prophet is the Ministry s pawn in their
obsession with order, which in itself is disordering according to bureaucratic politics. The Daily
Prophet s corrupt articles only create more disorder even though they have the goal of preventing
panic. Any time that there is a group of elites and a public, there are sure to be elements populist
politics found. This is especially true when the group of elites exercise their power to deceive the
mass. In this situation the villain in populist terms is The Daily Prophet, along with the Ministry of
Magic, for abusing their power to take advantage of their superior position to

Research Paper On Cataracts
What To Know About Getting Tested And Treated For Cataracts
If you re experiencing cloudy or dim vision that has gotten worse over the years, you may have
cataracts. Cataracts tend to get worse over time, and they can even cause you to lose your sight
entirely. Fortunately, diagnosing and treating cataracts is fairly simple. It all starts with an eye exam.
Here s what you can expect.
The Comprehensive Eye Examination
If you suspect you have cataracts, your eye doctor will probably do a comprehensive eye examination.
During this procedure, the doctor is able to identify the cataracts if you have them, determine how
badly they affect your vision, and document the results so their progression can be tracked over the
years. A comprehensive eye exam tests all aspects ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When cataracts are small, they may not interfere with your vision at all. In fact, you may not even
know you have them until your eye doctor finds them on a routine eye examination. That s one reason
it is important to have periodic eye checkups to monitor the health of your eyes even if your vision is
otherwise okay. Once the cataracts grow large enough to cause vision problems, you may still be able
to postpone surgery for a few years by wearing glasses and adjusting your prescription occasionally as
the cataracts grow. If your cataracts are very slow growing, they may never get bad enough to require
surgery.
However, if your cataracts develop quickly, or they get so large that your poor vision affects your
quality of life or makes it unsafe to drive, then cataract surgery might be the best option. During the
surgery, the eye doctor removes your clouded lens and replaces it with an artificial lens so your vision
is clear once again. Based on the results of your eye examination, your doctor can help you decide if
surgery is the best option at the time, or if it is better to postpone

Taking a Closer Look at a CPU
Although many people are computer nerds; many people do not know what a CPU is; or what it does.
A computer has many parts that make up the hardware, and the software; enabling it to function
correctly. One of the main components that a computer needs to work is a Central Processing Unit
also known as the microprocessor. The central processing unit includes all the computers main parts,
and is the basic part of the computer. The CPU is responsible for executing out tasks, and running the
software. The software runs on programs that are translated into number codes made up of 1s and 0s
that the central processing unit can understand. Each code that is executed means a certain operation
should take place. A CPU serves for four functions; Fetch, Decode, Execute, and write back these
functions are the four primary ones. Other functions that follow are the Arithmetic and logic unit, as
well as the Memory access.
In the first step of dealing with a CPU the fetch function is up first. The fetch function involves
retrieving information that it needs to run from the program memory, and basically giving it
instructions which is put in by a number of a whole line of them from the memory. Wherever the
memory may be is determined by the (PC) which is also known as the program counter. The PC stores
a number that can keep track of the current place in the program. When the instruction is fetched the
Program Counter is then inputted by the length of the instruction in word terms of the

Differences Between The Joy Luck Club Book And Movie
The Joy Luck Club
Comparative study
The Joy Luck Club (1989), introduced the cultural values of China and America which was highly
successful. It remained nine months on the Times Bestseller and was re created into a movie which
released in 1993 with the same name. Although there are not much influential differences, the
visual/audio effects in movies, structures and languages, including the tones and pronunciations made
some changes on the individual s preference.
Unlike the book, the movie The Joy Luck Club added audio and visual effects to make the plot more
emotional and empathic. In this case, the audio, including the background music fully demonstrated
the cultural aspects of Chinese American culture. For instance, the director solely used Chinese

In the book, each chapter tells four stories of each character by the subtitles. This was successful for
the readers to understand the specific backgrounds of each story because a single section only
explained one character s story. Meaning that the book is more detailed to the movie. In the movie, the
scar of Anmei was created by a simple argument from her uncle and aunt. And the scene was simple
and quick which the director did not put a focal point on it. But in the book, there is a subtitle called
AN MEI HSU: Scar and the book described a lot more details about the beginning and end of the
argument. Comparatively, the movie did not portray the stories in order. The flow of the stories was
more fluent because it was about mentioning a story from other character s stories. Such as when the
daughters narrated the story, the stories of their mothers were mentioned and that naturally led to their
mother s stories. This allowed the audiences to be more concentrated to every story, because the flow
of the plot was natural and that helped the audiences to generally accept lots of stories at the same

The Economic Status Of Young People
The youth is one of the most vulnerable groups in the labour market. The economic status of young
people has declined significantly over the past two decades, despite a variety of programs designed to
aid new workers in the transition from the classroom to the job market. Young people have a great
impact on economic growth and productivity. It also costs governments and society at large a lot of
money, both currently in terms of higher unemployment benefits and lost tax revenue and flow into
the future through long term reduced productivity and earnings. Last but not least, being young and
unemployed can lead to increase in the risk of poverty, deskilling and social exclusion as well as cause
loss of motivation and mental health problems. Fresh graduates lacking experience often find
themselves trapped in a vicious cycle. They often lack the experience needed to fill a job opening,
which prevents them from getting employed. Thus, the job searching period for them becomes
considerably longer than for experienced workers and harms their future work prospects (Vena
Nedeljkovic, 2014, para. 2).
So, there are two solutions that are the best in solving the issue: apprenticeship and entrepreneurship.
The first feasible solution is apprenticeship. It consists of a combination of on the job training,
contributions by apprentices to production, and classroom instruction, leading to a valued
occupational credential. They could be run either by private entities, the Department of

Gateways To Art Analysis
The figure 1.120 on page 123 of Gateways to Art depicts a 3 dimensional piece of art called
Monogram. Inside the work includes mixed media with taxidermy goat, rubber tire, and a tennis ball.
The work was done by Robert Rauschenberg from Sweden. There is strong emphasis on the goat,
making it the focal point of the mass. The installation of the tire is wrapped around the goat s torso,
while the goat is mounted onto the center of the wood frame. The size of the work is monumental
compared to other works of art. The subordination of the painted half of the work prevents the viewer
from looking at the plain pieces of wood. The span of the mount stretches diagonally across the frame.
The addition of red paint brings a sense of luminosity to the work. There are illuminated letters printed
of the wood pieces that draws attention to the left half of the piece. The text says Rauschenberg
created the work as a symbol of himself as a rebel and outcast. The goat relates to a religious
perspective as goats used to be offered as a sacrifice by Christians to God. This work was so odd at the
time because it was not a sculpture or painting, making it unique in its own way. The figure 1.81 ...

the objects were different. The works were similar in the fact that they were both narratives. They both

Transformational Leadership
A leader is someone who has the ability to influence followers that have the same determination and
outcomes for change as they do. Not all leaders are famous people, or people in high positions of
power. There are leaders all around us. They are just ones that possess leadership qualities that not all
people have. This does not mean though that they are born leaders. This also doesn t mean that all
leaders are good leaders. They can also harm society, like Hitler. People build their leadership qualities
through life experiences. Great leaders are able to effectively influence their subordinates. This
influencing is usually done by using their authority. Most people tend to believe and trust in people in

I think that it is easier for people to follow a person that inspires them. A person with a vision and
passion can achieve great things, both very valuable traits to have. If I can inject enthusiasm and
energy into myself and others, many great things can be achieved. In the future when I am in a
leadership position I want to be able to develop my followers by making sure that they possess the
passion and energy needed to work towards our organization s common goal. I want to care about
them and make sure that they succeed at what they want to accomplish. Working for a
transformational leader should be a wonderful uplifting experience.
Transformational leadership starts with the development of a vision. This should be a view of the
future that will grab the attention, excite and convert potential followers. Once the vision has been
developed, you will have to constantly sell the vision. This will probably take a lot of energy and
commitment, because few people will automatically believe in your vision. A transformational leader
should take every opportunity available to convince others to climb on their bandwagon. In order to
create followers, the transformational leader has to be careful in creating trust, and their personal
integrity is a critical part in what they are selling. Therefore, they are selling themselves as well as the
vision. The common

Managing Multiple Generations in the Workplace
Managing Multiple Generations in the Workplace
Diversity is no new thing in the workplace. Many different factors account for this circumstance in the
business arena. Gender, race and ethnicity, and age are a few of the major factors that create diversity
within the workplace. The latter, age, is one of the more understated and disregarded issue of diversity.
But over time, differences in age in the workplace has been growing more and more, generating
conflicts that could not be ignored any longer. The problem of age gaps in the workplace is caused by
having multiple generations in one workplace. Most see the age gaps in the workplace as an inherent
thing and thus, not something to cope with instead of something to be dealt with. ... Show more

Almost all organizations and companies know the required to break and become effective

companies must create a culture that accepts shared responsibility and authority for results. The
organizations which learn to collaborate are creating competitive advantage on the market which is

The Epidemic Of The Ebola Outbreak Of West Africa
Crisis is a word used to describe a situation that has reached a critical phase. In order to minimize the
effects after an incident occurs, a crisis manager sets out to indemnify the area. A crisis can be globally
felt and personally felt. One major global crisis in recent history was the Ebola virus outbreak, and one
personal crisis I have experienced is a bipolar crisis. The Ebola outbreak in West Africa first broke the
news in March 2014. Considered an epidemic, this outbreak killed five times more than any other
Ebola outbreak combined. The virus is traced back to a two year old toddler who died in a south
eastern Guinea small village in December 2013. It took nearly three months for the health officials to
identify the cause of people s illness was Ebola. At that point, the virus had already spread and was set
to explode around the world. West Africa was not prepared for this type of epidemic, the clinics had
never managed this type of case, there was no laboratory to diagnose the patients, and the government
had never witnessed that type of upheaval. The people initially denied the crisis because they didn t
understand why, how, or what had hit them.
The past outbreaks were in rural areas with few cases in highly populated areas, and the major fix was
the isolate the infected. Since the virus was so widely spread the control could no longer be isolation,
supportive care was the new aim. Basic public health, however, was not easily found in the three

Fairy tales don t always follow the same boring pattern; beautiful princess falls in love with her prince

Friendship is one of the most important things in life. This is also shown in Shrek between Donkey,

rescuing Princess Fiona from the dragons keep. After Shrek and Donkey save Princess Fiona, Shrek
overhears Princess Fiona and Donkey talking about her curse and how Princess Fiona thought she was

Donkey tells Shrek that they are friends and that Shrek should treat him more like one. In the end,

The Fallout from a Potential Eurozone Breakup
The Fallout From a Potential Eurozone Breakup
Executive Summary: Today, the global economic crisis is centered around the struggles of the
European Union to protect its very existence. At the start of its second decade of existence, the
common currency form of the Euro, shared by 17 of the European Union s 27 member states, is
imperiled by the threat that some of its struggling member might depart from the Eurozone. With a
particular focus on Greece, which balanced the question of its status in the Eurozone over the course
of its recent elections, the discussion here considers the possible consequences of a breakup of the
Eurozone. By and large, the discussion will demonstrate that the consequences would be catastrophic
for the global community as a whole. The discussion considers a brief history of globalization and,
subsequently, a concise history of the institution of the Euro itself. Within the context of this history,
the discussion will note that substantial evidence existing the foreshadow the forces that are now
threatening to dismantle the singular monetary currency of Europe. Among those forces, the research
addresses the reality that the differently scaled economies of Europe have long struggled to find
common currency ground, and always with little success. The findings also suggest that an era of
unbridled borrowing and budget deficit spiraling have now produced a scenario where the Eurozone
appears on the brink of dismantling. Were such an event to occur,

Learning Style Inventory ( Lsi )
Learning Style is a Term that has been of interest in the past few decades in the field of Organizational
Behavior. It refers to the way individuals perceive to acquire new skills, knowledge, or education.
Scholars of organizational behavior owe David Kolb who is the leading pioneer for the introduction of
such term due to his work since 1970`s.
David Kolb, a Professor of Organizational Behavior at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland
in the US, established an Experimental theory based on a 17 years search study to develop and
enhance the abilities of educators using the Learning Style Inventory (LSI). Coffieldand et al

xCoffieldand et al mentioned that the authors were keen to emphasize (2000, 43) that no single style
has an overwhelming advantage over any other. Each has strengths and weaknesses but the strengths
may be especially important in one situation, but not in another.
Several scholars disagreed with the idea; that each individual has a unique learning style. They
critiqued the work of Kolb, Honey and Mumford, and others who followed on the road of searching
for improving and classifying educators in to learning categories. They insisted that naming individual
according to learning style prevent them from adapting to new ways of learning.

Soviet Style Planning For A Communist City Essay
Alexei Gutnov thought that a city was an organic community whose function was to calculate the
immediate needs of the future. He believed that a city was a tangle of contradictions but planning
couldn t predict the future however, the current planning environment we live in could accurately
predict its development. Alexei Gutnov was the author of an Ideal Communist City a book written to
examine the past errors and current errors of planning taken place in capitalistic societies whilst giving
advice on what the future for a communist city should look like. The obvious differences between
Western style planning and Soviet Style are evident at least until 1990 s. Soviet style planning could
be characterized as many things but what was the true nature of soviet style planning and what role
did soviet style planning play in economic advances and lifestyles? The preparations used to
investigate the questions in this thesis mainly use secondary sources though some quotes are from
primary sources. Many of the writers whose works used which are both from books and articles are
both critiques and proponents of the Soviet leadership thus they may be biased in their assertions of
the planning policies imposed during the Soviet empire and its satellite states. The sources are both
from the 20th and 21st century because one needs to take into accounts an extreme growth in
ideologies. Many of the sources were a product of their time whether they were critiquing the political
structure or

Anahad O Connor Teenage Driving Laws
almost everyone s first thought is that it was the teenagers fault. Teenagers are not the only ones that
make mistakes according www.iii.org drivers of age 65 and older were responsible for 17% of all
traffic fatalities. Although the percentage may not be too high, it still caused crashes and is still
important. The opposition may claim that teenagers who are 18 should be able to get their license
since they are more mature and know more of what they are doing. However, When you re the age of
18 you re not required to pass all the tests or meet all the requirements in order to get your driver s
license. This could also be one of the reasons of why there is so many crashes According to the article

Sequence Pattern
In sequence pattern I got a score of 27 which means I use that pattern first. In precision pattern I got a
score of 29 which means I also use that pattern first. My score for the technical reasoning pattern was
8 which means I usually avoid it. In confluence pattern I got a score of 22 which means I use it as
needed. With all my scores combined it makes me a dynamic learner. An example of when I used the
Sequence Pattern was when I was in high school and I was in a CNA class doing job shadowing for
the first time. I asked what exactly I was expected to do; what my job duties were as a shadowing
student . I was nervous, of course, so I asked my teacher, whom was a long time nurse, what I was
supposed to be doing exactly. She explained to me and the other students in detail that we were to help
the elderly in and out of bed, to and from the restroom, to get them dressed and to get them to and
from the cafeteria for lunch. That sounded simple enough so we all got started helping the residents
and some of the CNA s who worked there had a completely different way of doing things, not the
exact way as shown by our teacher. I don t like when people do things differently then how I have
been shown and then expect me to do it that way as well. I had to just adjust to it and do it ... Show

Citizen Vs Declaration Of Independence
The Declaration of Independence is of major importance to the history of the United States, and the
same is true for the Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen regarding the history of France.
Both documents were the start or major change within each of the countries. The Declaration of
Independence stated the colonies were no longer under Great Britain rule, but instead they were now
their own free country. In France the Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen was written to
limit the power and authority of the crown and government. Although the documents express different
concerns there are still distinct similarities between the two. The Declaration of the Rights of Man and

Population Health Policy Analysis
Effectively managing the health of a Nation is a major undertaking and requires a concerted effort on
the part of its people. Governmental agencies use legislation and laws to help facilitate ethical care in
the healthcare industry. Ethical care is determined by the philosophies and values of people within a
specified population. The nursing field has set high standards in the way that its members treat the
populations in their care. The competencies, values, and goals of the nursing profession have been
standardized by The Quality Safety and Education for Nurses (QSEN) project (Ivey, 2013). These
standards serve as a guide in providing evidenced practice care that is patient centered. QSEN

Lifestyle choices are influenced by culture, individual worldviews, age, gender, and so forth (Nash et
al., 2016). These choices can impact the care that individuals receive and should be taken into
consideration when determining treatment plans (Nash et al., 2016). Assessing the total needs of
individuals requires health professionals that are sensitive to these unique needs in order to influence
positive healthcare change (Hostetter, S., Klein. (2013). Nurses play an important role in providing
optimal patient care that addresses the unique needs of each individual patient (Sherwood Zomorodi,

Summary Of The Short Story The Shawl By Langston Hughes
In the short story, The Shawl by Cynthia Ozick, the symbol of the Shawl changes over the course of
the story. For Magda, the protagonist who is a baby, the shawl represents protection and nurturing.
Once Magda dies, however, the shawl represents mourning and emptiness for Rosa, Magda s mother.
Similarly, in the short story, Thank you, Ma am by Langston Hughes the blue suede shoes symbolize
varying ideas as the story develops. Initially, Roger, the protagonist, has a desire which is not met, to
own blue suede shoes, the shoes therefore, represent a feeling of lacking. Later in the story Roger is
given money to buy the shoes, at which point the shoes begin to represent his needs being met. Both
Ozick and Hughes use accessories as symbols to illustrate the protagonists transitioning between
gaining and lacking proper nourishment.
The shawl provides Magda with sustenance and protection, which allows Magda to provide these
same benefits for Rosa. In describing the shawl, Ozick writes, It was a magical shawl, it could nourish
an infant for three days and three night . While the shawl provides Magda with all the nutrients she
needs to survive, Magda helps Rosa feel satisfied, despite giving her food rations to Magda. Rosa
gains these crucial necessities indirectly from the shawl through Magda, while Magda, on the other
hand, benefits directly from the shawl. For both Magda and Rosa the shawl, in providing them with
the sustenance they need, symbolizes them having their basic needs met.
Once Magda dies, however, the shawl symbolizes an emptiness and dearth of nourishment. During her
life, the shawl provides for Magda, which allows Rosa to reap benefit also, but once Magda dies, and
the shawl no longer provides sustenance. Ozick writes, Rosa drank Magda s shawl until it dried . The
shawl dries up quickly, in contrast to the constant, never ending nourishment that the shawl possessed
prior to Magda s death. The dried up shawl symbolizes Rosa s lacking. Before Magda died Rosa s
needs were met through Magda, however, now that Magda is gone Rosa no longer has those needs
met. Although the shawl, initially, symbolized Rosa receiving proper sustenance, once Magda dies the
shawl symbolizes Rosa s lack of

Food Truck Cost Essay
Techniques and Cost:
Food truck space is limited, so the types of equipment available to produce the foods for the customers
must be resourceful. The same goes for the number of employees, 2 to three employees will be
allowed at any given time. They will have assigned tasks depending on time constraints and amount of
people ordering.
Costs of operating the food truck will consist of rent of the location being used per day or leased
monthly, and gas and electricity if both are needed to operate the truck, garbage and waste facility to
empty out the truck at end of each day (requirement for food trucks), cost of food sales products and
ingredients, and employee wages which will be calculated at about 2 to 3 employees per day.

Private space
For more control of your kitchen space, you can rent a private location. Having a private commercial
kitchen space will cost you more than sharing one, but you also have the ability to work at your own
pace and have more room for yourself. Another benefit of having a private space is the ability to be
able to store more ingredients. This would also be a cost saver in one aspect by being able to purchase
items in bulk that you wouldn t be able to purchase with a shared space.

In the state of California, the permits and requirements for where to place your food truck is entirely
up to the city or county. For most food truck owners, relying on their existing power and generators is
their goal. One possibility is by using a commissary regularly over night, to keep your truck running
throughout the busy day. The site and what consists of the site is what will help with the storage of the

Theories Of Learning Behavior Theories
There are over 100 theories of learning behaviour that can be applied to behaviour in the classroom. In
the field of education, research has shown that teachers spend as much time engaged in classroom
behaviour management as they do teaching, therefore, this shows the importance of learning
behaviour theories. Firstly, what is learning? Learning can be defined as developing newly learnt
skills, new knowledge and understanding concepts. We recognise learning as there is a better
understanding or a change in behaviour. It is essential to comprehend that learning associates different
understandings to many people and is used accordingly in various theories. This essay is divided into
three parts: first, addressing the definition of behaviour, secondly, the explanation of a Learning
Theory (Behaviourism) and lastly this paper will look at the classical and operant conditioning theory
illustrating how these environmental concepts affects children s learning in the classroom. Bulotsky
Shearer et al., (2012) mentioned that children who have difficulty regulating their emotions, paying
attention, initiating peer interactions and sustaining engagement in learning tasks are at risk for
learning difficulties. This essay will demonstrate how the above mentioned behaviours can cause
learning difficulties in children in the classroom. The Oxford Dictionary defines behaviour as the way
in which one acts or conducts oneself, especially towards others (Oxford Dictionary,

During my guided reading practice, I decided to choose two students that read at a level A. These two
students were grouped together because they need almost the same help in order for them to grow as a
reader. For this guided reading practice, I decided to choose the book I See Flags by Wiley Blevins.
This book is a level B book. I choose this book because students are learning about maps during social
studies, but also I wanted students to see the different flags from other countries. I wanted the students
to know that flags do not come in the same color or shapes. With this book, the students are able to see

I asked them where they have seen flags before. I was amazed with the student s responses, some of
the students said a post office, an army office, school, stores, cars, and other. After we finished
discussing where they have seen flags, I ask them to read the story. When students were reading, I
notice that the students were taking their time to read and they focus more on the words than looking
at the pictures. When I was helping out the students I told them that they are able to look at the
pictures in order for them to check and see if what they are saying makes sense. After I told the
students this strategy, students were looking at the pictures and sounding out the words in order for
them to check if what they said made sense in the text. Then, I ask them what kind of shapes did the
flags contain and to compare and contrast the flags. I asked to students to turn to the last page of the
book and look at the United States flag and the Mexico flag. The students compare both of the flags.
They said that the Mexico flag has a symbol while the United States flag has stars. Both students had
an opportunity to answer the question and they were able to examine both of the

  • 2. Blade Runner What Makes Someone Human What Makes Someone Human C. Joy Bell C. once said, There is some kind of a sweet innocence in being human, in not having to be just happy or just sad, in the nature of being able to be both broken and whole, at the same time. Blade Runner, the film directed by Ridley Scott, brings one to ask oneself: what really makes someone human? The replicants in this film are an advanced version of humans, bioengineered and cloned to be stronger, faster, and smarter than humans. Replicants do not last long, and are retired before they can evolve to have their own emotions or thoughts, many of them know that they are replicants, but there are a few who have lived believing they are human. Deckard shows no emotion when he is assigned to retire ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The replicants themselves are not supposed to be able to feel or understand emotion whatsoever, but there are however a few newer replicants that have been implanted with memory chips and do not even know they are not human. Rachael, for example, truly believes she is Tyrell s niece. Some viewers even believe that Deckard himself is one of these higher technologically advanced replicants implanted with a memory chip, further skewing the lines between what is human, and what is not. There are a few scenes that are specifically set to make the viewer question Deckard s humanity for example; the scene in which Rachael asks Deckard whether or not he has passed the Voight Kampff test himself, and receives no answer. Another indicator that Deckard is, in fact, a replicant is when he gets beaten by three different replicants in the later half of the film, yet shows little to no sign of affliction. Through scenes such as these Ridley Scott builds up the question of Deckard s own humanity. Producer Michael Deeley points out, Should the replicants kill to gain moral life? Should Harrison Ford be killing them simply because they want to exist? These questions begin to tangle up Deckard s thinking... especially when he becomes involved with a female replicant ... • 3. Kurzweil s Neocortex Essay From beginning to end, Kurzweil organizes his piece into various topics by chapters. Within these various chapters, he announces the main idea, and either gives data/research or a story to accredit the claim. To further his ideas, Kurzweil inserts various rhetorical devices, such as analysis and assertions/justifications. Lacking any of these strategies leaves the context with no form of groundwork that potentially allows the substance to deteriorate in approval. Comprehensively, creating a mind is a vague term that most may not understand right away. Knowing the possibility of confusion, Kurzweil analyzes every bit and piece of his synopsis through complex analysis. As the chapter progress so does the complexity of the statements by allowing the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Throughout the text, the word neocortex is brought up a plentiful amount of times. Over time, the idea of certain items evolves into complex statements that ll potentially be understood by the reader after they endure the various explanations over a chapter or more. To exemplify this, the term neocortex first appears in the introduction; where the basic description of its responsibility to deal with patterns of information(10). Further along, in chapter three, the same term advances into a labyrinth of connections. Not only does this mass, that consists of eighty percent of the human brain, influence memory patterns and such, but that it, is a comparable hierarchy of pattern recognizers processing actual images of objects...and a hierarchy of concepts... and a hierarchy of thought, (49). • 4. The Night Of The Warriors I was standing on the logo in Oracle Arena, home of The Warriors. The bright lights and vibrant blue and yellow surrounded me. Then it came to me, i m really going to play here. Nobody was in the 20,000 seats besides the other five teams ready to play and their parents. I got the chills thinking I was really going to play on the same court that NBA players play on. The best part was if we win the tournament then the parents and players both get tickets for the game later on. I laced up my all white sneakers and thought to myself it s gametime. As the other starters and I took the court, I started imagining myself on TV, as if I were in the NBA. We won the tip off and Johnny passed me the ball, I looked up and nobody was guarding me. I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The ball rolled in and the crowd erupted. I could see my mom with tears in her eyes. The buzzer rang and my team crowded around me. The event director gave us our medals but more importantly gave us the tickets for the game later. I then went up to my mom who was elated and showed her the tickets. She emphasized I knew you could do it son and hugged as if there was an an anaconda around my body. She then said ecstatically well I know what we are doing later. I said in response let s do it! Basmagian 3 As we enter the arena once again, the first thing i could smell was the sweet cinnamon from the churros. As my mom and I were finding our seat, I was taking in all the food stands that filled the arena. Eventually, we found our seats and I took a deep breath and soaked in what it felt like to be at an NBA game. All the security, vendors, people, but more importantly the NBA players. Every time The Warriors scored the crowd erupted as if they had just made a game winner. Once it was halftime, my mom and I went to get food. She decided that she wanted street tacos loaded with Carne Asada. I decided I wanted a ginormous, greasy slice of pizza. As they cut the slice my mouth start watering and i could smell the cheese and pepperoni as if it were right in front of my nose. I could not wait to get back to my seat, so I could devour my pizza. • 7. Unjust And Uninhibited Control In The Daily Prophet Unjust and uninhibited control is an innate trait of bureaucratism, as a byproduct of an institution s quest for efficiency. In perpetuation of their lack of limits, bureaucrats create survival networks across spheres, and thus are more difficult to bring down. In regards to the Potter series, the Ministry creates a network with The Daily Prophet. Bureaucracy knows no limits, and may take unjust actions. The Daily Prophet publishing deceiving articles is unethical by general contemporary standards; however, by bureaucratic definition the institution is self justifying, and defines themselves as the most rational organization. The Ministry believes that they have proper justification in using the newspaper to their advantage, and the newspaper plays along. In doing so, they expand past the boundaries between public and private affairs by exploiting Harry. The Daily Prophet is the Ministry s pawn in their obsession with order, which in itself is disordering according to bureaucratic politics. The Daily Prophet s corrupt articles only create more disorder even though they have the goal of preventing panic. Any time that there is a group of elites and a public, there are sure to be elements populist politics found. This is especially true when the group of elites exercise their power to deceive the mass. In this situation the villain in populist terms is The Daily Prophet, along with the Ministry of Magic, for abusing their power to take advantage of their superior position to ... Research Paper On Cataracts What To Know About Getting Tested And Treated For Cataracts If you re experiencing cloudy or dim vision that has gotten worse over the years, you may have cataracts. Cataracts tend to get worse over time, and they can even cause you to lose your sight entirely. Fortunately, diagnosing and treating cataracts is fairly simple. It all starts with an eye exam. Here s what you can expect. The Comprehensive Eye Examination If you suspect you have cataracts, your eye doctor will probably do a comprehensive eye examination. During this procedure, the doctor is able to identify the cataracts if you have them, determine how badly they affect your vision, and document the results so their progression can be tracked over the years. A comprehensive eye exam tests all aspects ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When cataracts are small, they may not interfere with your vision at all. In fact, you may not even know you have them until your eye doctor finds them on a routine eye examination. That s one reason it is important to have periodic eye checkups to monitor the health of your eyes even if your vision is otherwise okay. Once the cataracts grow large enough to cause vision problems, you may still be able to postpone surgery for a few years by wearing glasses and adjusting your prescription occasionally as the cataracts grow. If your cataracts are very slow growing, they may never get bad enough to require surgery. However, if your cataracts develop quickly, or they get so large that your poor vision affects your quality of life or makes it unsafe to drive, then cataract surgery might be the best option. During the surgery, the eye doctor removes your clouded lens and replaces it with an artificial lens so your vision is clear once again. Based on the results of your eye examination, your doctor can help you decide if surgery is the best option at the time, or if it is better to postpone ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Taking a Closer Look at a CPU Although many people are computer nerds; many people do not know what a CPU is; or what it does. A computer has many parts that make up the hardware, and the software; enabling it to function correctly. One of the main components that a computer needs to work is a Central Processing Unit also known as the microprocessor. The central processing unit includes all the computers main parts, and is the basic part of the computer. The CPU is responsible for executing out tasks, and running the software. The software runs on programs that are translated into number codes made up of 1s and 0s that the central processing unit can understand. Each code that is executed means a certain operation should take place. A CPU serves for four functions; Fetch, Decode, Execute, and write back these functions are the four primary ones. Other functions that follow are the Arithmetic and logic unit, as well as the Memory access. In the first step of dealing with a CPU the fetch function is up first. The fetch function involves retrieving information that it needs to run from the program memory, and basically giving it instructions which is put in by a number of a whole line of them from the memory. Wherever the memory may be is determined by the (PC) which is also known as the program counter. The PC stores a number that can keep track of the current place in the program. Differences Between The Joy Luck Club Book And Movie The Joy Luck Club Comparative study The Joy Luck Club (1989), introduced the cultural values of China and America which was highly successful. It remained nine months on the Times Bestseller and was re created into a movie which released in 1993 with the same name. Although there are not much influential differences, the visual/audio effects in movies, structures and languages, including the tones and pronunciations made some changes on the individual s preference. Unlike the book, the movie The Joy Luck Club added audio and visual effects to make the plot more emotional and empathic. And the scene was simple and quick which the director did not put a focal point on it. But in the book, there is a subtitle called AN MEI HSU: Scar and the book described a lot more details about the beginning and end of the argument. Comparatively, the movie did not portray the stories in order. The flow of the stories was more fluent because it was about mentioning a story from other character s stories. Such as when the daughters narrated the story, the stories of their mothers were mentioned and that naturally led to their mother s stories. • 11. The Economic Status Of Young People The youth is one of the most vulnerable groups in the labour market. The economic status of young people has declined significantly over the past two decades, despite a variety of programs designed to aid new workers in the transition from the classroom to the job market. Young people have a great impact on economic growth and productivity. It also costs governments and society at large a lot of money, both currently in terms of higher unemployment benefits and lost tax revenue and flow into the future through long term reduced productivity and earnings. Last but not least, being young and unemployed can lead to increase in the risk of poverty, deskilling and social exclusion as well as cause loss of motivation and mental health problems. Fresh graduates lacking experience often find themselves trapped in a vicious cycle. They often lack the experience needed to fill a job opening, which prevents them from getting employed. Thus, the job searching period for them becomes considerably longer than for experienced workers and harms their future work prospects (Vena Nedeljkovic, 2014, para. 2). So, there are two solutions that are the best in solving the issue: apprenticeship and entrepreneurship. The first feasible solution is apprenticeship. It consists of a combination of on the job training, contributions by apprentices to production, and classroom instruction, leading to a valued occupational credential. Inside the work includes mixed media with taxidermy goat, rubber tire, and a tennis ball. The work was done by Robert Rauschenberg from Sweden. There is strong emphasis on the goat, making it the focal point of the mass. The installation of the tire is wrapped around the goat s torso, while the goat is mounted onto the center of the wood frame. The size of the work is monumental compared to other works of art. The subordination of the painted half of the work prevents the viewer from looking at the plain pieces of wood. The span of the mount stretches diagonally across the frame. The addition of red paint brings a sense of luminosity to the work. There are illuminated letters printed of the wood pieces that draws attention to the left half of the piece. The text says Rauschenberg created the work as a symbol of himself as a rebel and outcast. The goat relates to a religious perspective as goats used to be offered as a sacrifice by Christians to God. Transformational leadership starts with the development of a vision. This should be a view of the future that will grab the attention, excite and convert potential followers. Once the vision has been developed, you will have to constantly sell the vision. This will probably take a lot of energy and commitment, because few people will automatically believe in your vision. A transformational leader should take every opportunity available to convince others to climb on their bandwagon. The Ebola outbreak in West Africa first broke the news in March 2014. Considered an epidemic, this outbreak killed five times more than any other Ebola outbreak combined. The virus is traced back to a two year old toddler who died in a south eastern Guinea small village in December 2013. It took nearly three months for the health officials to identify the cause of people s illness was Ebola. At that point, the virus had already spread and was set to explode around the world. West Africa was not prepared for this type of epidemic, the clinics had never managed this type of case, there was no laboratory to diagnose the patients, and the government had never witnessed that type of upheaval. At the start of its second decade of existence, the common currency form of the Euro, shared by 17 of the European Union s 27 member states, is imperiled by the threat that some of its struggling member might depart from the Eurozone. With a particular focus on Greece, which balanced the question of its status in the Eurozone over the course of its recent elections, the discussion here considers the possible consequences of a breakup of the Eurozone. By and large, the discussion will demonstrate that the consequences would be catastrophic for the global community as a whole. The discussion considers a brief history of globalization and, subsequently, a concise history of the institution of the Euro itself. Within the context of this history, the discussion will note that substantial evidence existing the foreshadow the forces that are now threatening to dismantle the singular monetary currency of Europe. For Magda, the protagonist who is a baby, the shawl represents protection and nurturing. Once Magda dies, however, the shawl represents mourning and emptiness for Rosa, Magda s mother. Similarly, in the short story, Thank you, Ma am by Langston Hughes the blue suede shoes symbolize varying ideas as the story develops. Initially, Roger, the protagonist, has a desire which is not met, to own blue suede shoes, the shoes therefore, represent a feeling of lacking. Later in the story Roger is given money to buy the shoes, at which point the shoes begin to represent his needs being met. Both Ozick and Hughes use accessories as symbols to illustrate the protagonists transitioning between gaining and lacking proper nourishment. The shawl provides Magda with sustenance and protection, which allows Magda to provide these same benefits for Rosa. In describing the shawl, Ozick writes, It was a magical shawl, it could nourish an infant for three days and three night . While the shawl provides Magda with all the nutrients she needs to survive, Magda helps Rosa feel satisfied, despite giving her food rations to Magda. Rosa gains these crucial necessities indirectly from the shawl through Magda, while Magda, on the other hand, benefits directly from the shawl.
