Differential Diagnosis of Alex Forrest of Fatal Attraction
For my case study my group and I chose the movie Fatal Attraction , and we chose Alex Forrest for
our case study. For my part I chose to do the diagnosis aspect on Alex Forrest. Throughout this paper I
will be diagnosing Alex Forrest. The following key clinical data will be discussed: client
demographics, presenting problem, preliminary diagnostic information, symptoms, client
characteristics and history, diagnostic impressions, potential disorders, and the DSM diagnosis.
Demographics
Alex Forrest is a Caucasian female in her mid thirties. Alex is an editor for a newspaper. She lives
alone in a spacious apartment in New York City. She is single, however she is currently involved with
a married man and reports that she is pregnant with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Client felt that she had to prove she killed his daughter s pet rabbit and she even destroyed his car to
find out where he lived in the country. Dan was still not interested in any advances from the client but
that has not stopped her.
Psychosocial History
Client has a lack of social support network. No information regarding Alex s childhood, adolescence
has been provided. Client mentioned that her father died of a heart attack to Dan but indicated that he
was alive but later on we find out that he actually did die of a heart attack. She never discusses her
family she was more into her lover s family. There is no information regarding family history of
mental illness, or substance abuse disorder. However, due to her reports, it could be hypothesized that
she may have been a victim of sexual abuse or physical abuse at one point in her early life. Borderline
Personality disorder has found to be a contributor to child abuse (Spatz 2009). Having parental
familial substance abuse and other factors were also predictors for Borderline Personality Disorder.
(Spatz 2009) This research is suggested that there was some type of abuse at one point in the client s
early life. From these studies results indicated that more abuses and neglected children met the criteria

Bend It Like Beckham Analysis
Bend It Like Beckham , directed by Gurinder Chadha is a 2002 comedic sports film, based in London,
England. The plot follows an athletic 18 year old girl; Jesminder Bhamra and her strict parents who
detest Jess passion and love for playing soccer as it refutes their family s Indian Sikh religious morals.
Jess feels a lot of pressure and guilt throughout the film as she is ultimately betraying her family, yet
everyone in her team supports her, including the coach, Joe who tries to convince Jess that her parents
don t always know what s best for her. In every family, there is often a distinct line between what a
person wants to do and achieve, compared to what their parents and family members expect of them.
This cliché can be easily applied to many of the characters including Tony Jess best pal, Juliet Paxton
the player who suggested Jess joined the local team and Jess with their conflicts between their
families. Aside from being the main character in the film, Jesminder suffers the worst conflict between
her parents and family, throughout the entire storyline. Despite her parent s wishes and concerns
towards Jess passion, she makes the decision to secretively continue to spend hours in the local park
playing with other passionate male players whenever she could spare the time. This soon brought on
an offer from a player from the local soccer team, who was amazed by Jess skills, and she soon joined
the team, all without her parent s knowing. As mentioned earlier,

The Controversy Of Historiography
Historiography is the methodically of which history is written. There has been some controversy
regarding the way historians portray women over the years, mainly because women tend to be
unrepresented. Their importance is not stressed enough, historian devote little attention to class issues
that seriously affected black women. Even when history is focused on African American studies, there
is more of an emphasis on the black men, as opposed to black women. From the beginning, European
whites have created an image of woman has unworthy and undeserving. In a world where status is
heavily based on race and gender, woman already had two strikes against them: they are black and non
male. During the colonial days in The United States, only white

additional activities and allow more time exposed to specific concepts which would be beneficial for a
group with similar needs and abilities. Additionally, I would like to include opportunities for one on
one time between the teacher and the students, especially the ones showing the least amount of
growth. This would allow time to focus and target specific skills and preferably with less
environmental distractions, for instance working with the student in another room or hallway. Also,
during this time this group of students have not started to take homework home, I believe this would
have a positive impact on the students if they could spend about ten minutes a few times a week

The North and South in Antebellum United States
The North and South in Antebellum United States In the time just before the Civil War, the United
States was one of the most successful nations in the world. The United States had become the world s
leading cotton producing country and had developed industry, which would in the future, surpass that
of Great Britain. Also, the United States possessed an advanced railroad and transportation system.
However, despite its successes, the United States was becoming increasingly divided. The North and
the South had many distinct differences in terms of their social, cultural, and economic characteristics
that brought about sectionalism and, eventually, the Civil War. The North s social structure was very
different from that of the South. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Factories in the North attracted former subsistence farmers because it was more efficient to buy food
rather than to grow it. Systems like the Lowell System employed young women, provided them with
room and board, and paid the women for their work in the factory. With the rise of numerous new
American inventions, machines became more efficient and the United States had soon developed one
of the best industrial economies in the world. Because of the need for effective transportation to
distribute goods, new forms of transportation such as elaborate railroad and canal systems emerged.
The south, on the other hand, clung to the slave based plantation system. The economy was based
largely on the production of raw materials, mainly cotton. Eli Whitney s cotton gin allowed the
cultivation of short staple cotton to bring Southern planters great success. Because the cotton industry
was so lucrative, Southerners had no reason to become industrialized. However, the industrial
economy of the North and the agrarian economy of the South led to a colonial relationship between
the two, meaning that the South sold raw materials to the North in exchange for manufactured goods.
The system put the South in an inferior position to the North, which obviously upset Southerners and
led to greater tension between the two regions. In the years prior to the Civil War, the Northern and
Southern regions of the U.S.

The Negative Impacts Of Internet And Businesses Online And...
Everyone in the world is embracing the new trends in Internet and Businesses Online. It has really
changed most of our youth lifestyle as they are able to make money from all corners of the world by
selling products online from their computers and smart phones. You can now drop your orders from
home or work place and your products or services are delivered. Internet and Businesses Online have
both positive and negative impacts in our society. Some people are using this mode of business for
selling illegal products like illegal drugs.
A few days ago, a man faced multiple drug related charges after long a period of the police
investigation into illicit drug dealing via the Dark Web. The man has been dealing with drugs for a
long period but finally, the police were notified and took heed to arrest him. Drug trafficking is an
illegal act, whether done online or offline, it remains illegal.
The man involved in the dark web drug dealing was 43 years old. He was arrested by the police after
officers from the Australian Federal Police and NSW Police swooped on two properties in Sydney s
inner west on Thursday morning. The officers realized that the man was in Sydney and they quickly
communicated with their partners to ensure that the man did not escape. They arrived early in the
morning and arrested the man.
Police Officers from SFC investigated the properties at Wolli Creek and Tempe at 8 am where they

Lesson 8 Mind Over Matter
If Rappaccini s garden can be seen as the Garden of Eden, in what role does that place Rappaccini?
This brilliant scientist biologically succeeded in creating a beautiful and virtuous daughter, and he
succeeded through his experiments in making her deadly to get close to. If one views Rappaccini as a
God, creating his own Eden with his own impure purposes, what does this mean? It is clear that
Rappaccini is the least innocent of all of the characters in this short story. Was he trying to destroy
social and scientific convention, or was he merely trying to see how far he could push himself and the
envelope of acceptable scientific practice?
Rappaccini s Daughter is a great story that shows many great uses ... Show more content on

The uses colorful descriptions are also to describe Beatrice, drawing a parallel between her and the
garden. A marble fountain is located in the garden, and given its description, the fountain is a symbol
of physical corruption and purity of the soul, very much like Beatrice. The constant mention of Dante
at the beginning, the viewpoint of Giovanni from his balcony looking down as into a pit, the
poisonous vapors presumably rising from all of it, all suggests the ledge overlooking the deepest Hell
where Dante and Vergil discussed the different degrees of sin, beginning with lust and ending with
malice and betrayal. At the bottom of this pit, at its center, is not Lucifer, or even Rappaccini, but a
fountain. There is no indication that the water flowing from the fountain is polluted. Beatrice s
innocent spirit is very similar to the fountain: many passionate and holy things gush out of her heart,
when the pure fountain has been opened from its depths and made seen in its transparency to the
mental eye; remembrance that, had Giovanni known how to estimate them, it would have assured that
all of the ugly mystery was only an earthly allusion. In Roman mythology, the god of seasons and of
ripening plants and fruits wooed and won Pomona, a nymph. Before meeting Vertumnus, she had
confined herself to her garden to tend the plants and fruits. The statue of Vertumnus can be perceived

Tiger Woods And Its Effect On Golf
Golf. A sport that was dull and mundane twenty years ago, evolved when Tiger Woods came to the
scene. I started golfing during high school and loved it for the single fact, Tiger Woods played it.
Growing up I pictured golf as that once boring sport played by old white men lacking a fan base. Just
like myself, many people hated the idea of watching golf, so the sport needed a change. Tour earnings
were low, scoring was average, and young people did not want to pick up the sport. Tiger Woods came
on the tour in 1997 and astronomically changed the view of golf. The Tiger Effect on golf is real and
more people have been trying to work harder to get to that Tiger bench mark. He single handily
brought golf to the limelight and made it interesting to watch this godly like figure tear up the greens
while becoming an idol to young golfers around the world.
Just do it. Nike s famous quote is seen everywhere across the world, but what exactly does it mean? In
a new commercial developed by Nike in early 2015, titled Ripple, the widely known global empire
portrayed their famous phrase. The two main characters in this piece of media are Tiger Woods and
Rory McIlroy, two well known and successful golfers. The commercial displays the life of little Rory
growing up, following the career of his idol, Tiger Woods to eventually teeing off with him. This
abstract commercial had an enormous effect on audiences, because it revealed the path of a golfer who
looked up to Tiger Woods and

My Perfect Life And Perfect Family
Majority of the time it has always been that fathers should be the protector of the household, but that s
not always the case. There was a time in my life where everything was perfect. Everyone was happy,
laughing , and smiling. There were hardly any arguments or fighting... just good vibes. All of that
changed; my perfect life and perfect family became this dark place. There were constant fighting,
beating, arguing, fear, and pain. My life started to go downhill after the death of my grandmother. I
was 9 years old at the time when my grandmother, Elida, passed away. She was the light to our family,
putting everyone before herself, and always gave the best advice. Elida s death came with more than
just heart aches, her death left all of our lives questionable for what the future held for our family. I
knew things weren t going to be the same without her. Grandmother Elida was a wise , warm and
caring person. She was the light of everything and knew just about every answer to every question.
After her death there was no more laughs, smiles, and happiness; instead there was pain, fear, and
darkness.
September 10, 2005 at 11:46pm to be exact is when my life and my supposedly perfect family went
bad. Being 9 years old I was blind see the true colors of someone s character. I was a daddy s girl and
loved my dad so much. In my eyes my dad was the best dad in the world, but that s every little girl s
opinion. That drastically changed from best dad in the world turned into the

George W. Bush s Faith Based Initiative and the Separation of Church and State Clause
Nowhere in the U.S constitution or any other official documents does it say that there must be strict
separation of church and state . This clause was used by Jefferson in his letter to the Danbury Baptist
Association of Connecticut on January 1, 1802 (Truthwalk 1). After being revised six times by one of
our founding fathers, James Madision, the first amendment now states that, Congress shall make no
law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof... (Parsons 40). Did

Other programs include childcare services, transportation services, job training and employment
services, counseling services, and much more (Bush, George. W.). President Bush feels that the Faith
based programs, those that are already having success in helping those in need individuals, will be
able to do even more if given aid by the federal government. These organizations are also thought to
have much more of a personal, local type of therapy that people will want to attend to get help. In a
quote by President Bush, he explains his goals for the faith based initiative: The indispensable and
transforming work of faith based and other charitable service groups must be encouraged.
Government cannot be replaced by charities, but it can and should welcome them as partners. We must
heed the growing consensus across America that successful government social programs work in
fruitful partnership with community serving and faith based organizations. President George W. Bush
(White House Community and Faith Based Initiative).
The most obvious form of government aid to the faith based programs is the use of direct grants of
public funds (Pfeffer 163). The money however is not just handed over to these faith based charitable
organizations. These faith based organizations must apply for the

Portrayal Of Women In Herland
The story of Herland depicts mostly about feminism, feminism is the advocating rights of women to
gain equality to men. Herland is about a society that is made up of entire women and the need for male
counterpart is not necessary. The story is narrated through the eyes of a male narrator Von, Jeff and
Terry. Three different points of view were given about how women should be treated. During reading
the novel it was seen that Herland uses the stereotypes of females and used it to their advantages
where they depict all females willing and able to complete the task that modern society would see fit
for a male. The women in the novel clothing were not provocative however, it was built to convenient
to their daily life and also for comfort. They did not show any flirtatious tendency, and the need of
male in any shape or form was never necessary for them. They were mostly mothers, builders and,
farmers. The women lived together peacefully without caring about gender biases in the world.
The story was based on three males who was filled with boyish intention about a civilization of
women waiting for a male to come and rescue them. But in contrast to this, the women of Herland did
not need saving. This Utopia was created to show the negative flaws that society has about a female,
for example, society will always think that a female is always a damsel in distress and always need
saving. The three males Von, Terry and Jeff are such exaggerations of masculinity, they feel that it

Dana Write Up Bella Healthcare India Essay
EMSM TP19 Dana Lin Team is Ready but Say NO to Project TKO After Project Baton, was the Bella
India team fully equipped to lead a new product development project? Was Project TKO the right one
to tackle? I think Bella India team is fully equipped to lead new product development especially for
India market. However, Project TKO is not the right one to tackle. Why is the team ready for India
market? Because there is big market demand and Bella India team has all the knowledge to meet the
market requirement. For market demand, the EKG equipment market in emerging economies were
expected to have 10% growth per annum as both the need and ability to pay for better cardiac care

This means the demand is lesser but the competition is stronger. If Bella India wants to develop a new
product for a new market, I suggest they focus their investment on the product segment that is
growing and competition is smaller. Among the growing product segment, I think 6/12 channel is the
potential segment to develop because its projected growth is the biggest and by 2017, it will be almost
3 times bigger than it is now (2010). And there are only 4 main players and market share is almost
equally spread on 3 of them. This may imply that their products are similar in function and pricing.
With Bella team s innovative design of mobile connectivity which also gives their new product
advantage to compete with these 6/12 channel main market players. What s more, the TKO is planed
to incorporate a digital image and communications (DICOM) is not a right choice, either. Since this is
not critical in the near term, it s not necessary to add this feature at this time. This feature can be
developed as a wave 2 stage or an upgraded version to sell in another time when the market is able to
use and buy. More features add more cost. The challenging of the new product development is not
only time but also cost. Because there are a lot of competitors are working on similar products already,
if Bella India team wants to have first mover advantage, they have to complete production before
anyone else. And take

Positive And Negative Effects Of Divorce
When everyone is younger, they picture themselves getting married, having a stable career, and a
family. But not every marriage turns out to be picture perfect like it does when you envision your
future. The couples that cannot work out their issues turn to divorce. Some marriages need to end,
especially ones that are abusive. In the end, the parent and children have a more positive effect
because they got away from a bad situation. But marriages could end for many reasons, such as one of
the spouses having an affair, the couple falling out of love, they could be fighting more often, and so
forth. When parents do divorce, every child reacts to their parents splitting differently, but most of the
time it will come with some effect whether it be positive or negative. Divorce changes the lives of a
family, and children usually take it harder than the parents because they not only witness everything
their parents are going through, but they have to deal with the circumstances of divorce as well.
Children can develop depression from their parents getting a divorce. Dr. Strohschein found that,
compared to parents who remain married, parents who divorce tend to be younger and report higher
levels of family dysfunction and depression, and lower levels of marital satisfaction. These very
characteristics that put them at risk of divorce are also associated with child mental health problems.

The main problem out of the horsemeat scandal around Europe, according to specialists, (SOURCE) is
not the threat to human health but more an issue of business insecurity, as even major brands such as
Nestlé, Burger King and Findus fail to meet the high standards their consumers expect by selling
different products than those specified in the labels and promotion of their brands (SOURCE). Other
problem is the lack of efficient traceability along the complex supply chain for meat, where
unscrupulous vendors substitute beef for horsemeat taking advantage of the lowest price and the fact
that so many intermediates involved in the process does not make it easy to find a single responsible.

Tree genes work in bananas and frog genes work in rice. There is no limit in theory to the potential of
genetic engineering. Disease could be prevented by detecting people/plants/animals that are
genetically prone to certain hereditary diseases through genetic engineering. Animals and plants can
be tailor made to show desirable characteristics. Genes could also be manipulated in trees. B.
STUDIES Genetic engineering has been impossible until recent times due to the complex and
microscopic nature of DNA and its component nucleotides. Through progressive studies, more and
more in this area is being made possible.
Genetic engineering may be one of the greatest inventions in recent history along with the discovery
of the atom and space flight, however, governments have produced legislation to control what sort of
experiments are done involving genetic engineering. In the UK there are strict laws prohibiting any
experiments involving the cloning of humans. However, over the years here are some of the
experimental breakthroughs made possible by genetic engineering. * At the Roslin Institute in

Giovanni Battista Venturi Impact On Science
Science is very important to our life. It helped us to understand many things in our world. Many of the
famous scientists were Italian, Giovanni Battista Venturi is one of the italian scientists that influence

The Crucible Tone
The Crucible, by Arthur Miller, revolves around the Salem witch trials of the 15th century. Much of
what precedes the play portion of the novel is dedicated to establishing the background of the novel.
This passage, in specific, sets the tone of the novel as it describes the ideology of the witch hunts, and
how they came into effect. The passage summarizes the fundamental ideas of the witch hunts as a
paradox stating, The witch hunt was a perverse manifestation of the panic which set among the classes
when the balance began to turn toward greater individual freedom (Miller 11). These words are an
important part of the novel because it lays out a groundwork which the rest of the ideas and concepts
that are brought up in the novel will build themselves upon. Simply put, it sets the tone for the rest of
the novel. It describes the fears that the characters have, and what conflicts they will undergo. For
instance, signs of mob mentality can be gleamed from the passage. This can be seen when it says,
balance has yet to be struck between order and freedom (Miller 11).

Sharer s dramatic meaning is that social media allows adolescents to wear a mask and create a
different persona, this is successfully shown throughout multiple scenes. Using a series of dynamic
digital backgrounds, use of transformational objects and clever onstage character transformation shake

When Brit and Sam where having a conversation on Facebook Sam was sitting and Brit was standing
on opposite sides of the stage to represent the distance when chatting online. Brit s tone was very
arrogant as she looks down on most people. Her online and reality personas are mostly the same. Sam
when talking to Brit online can be seen becoming uneasy by his tone when responding. He continues
with the conversation beating up Martin as he is able to wear that mask as he believes Martin will not
find out. When Brit and Sam are kissing Brit is taking photo and she makes him repeat the photo
multiple times as she wants to post it online. She wants this photo to be perfect as she wants to seem
perfect so she does not lose her reputation. When they leave the room and Martin comes in Sam s
conversation with Brit is read by him and he discovers what they said about him. This causes Martin
to be anger and helps start building tension between them, this scene destroys the idea that online you
wear a mask as sooner or later people will find out. When he sends the photos of Brit and Sam to all
their contracts this ruins the persona they have built about their relationship and removes their mask.
This also creates more tension between Martin, Sam and Brit as it affects Brit

In this essay I shall compare the ways in which Owen suggests that war is futile, I will be comparing
poems Anthem for doomed youth, Futility and Exposure. Owen was a famous British poet born on
March 18th; and died on the 4th November; he gave us an insight into hell or otherwise known as
world war one. Owen was a young man of 18 years when he enlisted into the army. He was sucked
into the propaganda of war perceived as sweet, Owen was shot, a week before the Armistice day, as he
was leading his men across the canal, he was a mere age of 25, war left him with a slight stammer
which was unusually usual in poet s. Moreover, Anthem for doomed youth is a well known poem

the use of mathaphor in these connontaions help us to image their pain. Moreover, Exposure allows
the reader to share the experience of having all vestiges of shelter removed, stripped back to the
nakedness and feebleness of the human body against the wintry savagery of a snow storm in the dark,
at the point of death. In contrast to Futility, oxymoron one another sun snow one is associated with
heat whilst the other portrays bitter, freezing temperature, Owen portrays how life s a battle in itself
where you ll face many challenges from extreme coldness to scorching heat; loneliness to
overcrowded areas, both poems discuss how nature itself can have a more traumatising affect on them
than war, its futile for the soldiers as they are deteriorating physically like old beggars , they ve not
being granted the promises that it will make you a more respected, mentally and physically stronger
The sibilance of the repeated s sound Sudden successive flights of bullets streak the silence , creates
the effect of whispering, an attempt to not draw the attention of the enemy, who are pointlessly using
flares to see what is going on. Furthermore, the use of alliteration also contributes to how the poem is
read, as it makes you think the situation is occuring sudenly and quick. Both Futility a short poem of

What Can Cause Bornean-Orangutans
Long time ago, there were more than 230,000 orangutans spread around South East Asia. Now, there
are only about 60,000 left and 40,000 of them are Bornean orangutans. Human action can bring these
animal to extinction. The three main threats that can cause Bornean orangutans (Pongo pygmaeus) to
extinction are habitat loss, illegal wildlife trade and conflicts with indigenous people.
Forest fires and continuous logging are some of human action that caused habitat loss and affecting a
significant change of Bornean orangutans population. When local farmers wanted to open a palm oil
agriculture they will use a slash and burn methods. In 1998, forest fires in Borneo had caused one
third of Bornean orangutans population died.

Blood and Digestion
Blood a journey through the body. You might find yourself asking, what does blood have to do with
digestion, respiration and circulation? Hopefully, after the presentation all of your questions will be
answered.
When a person thinks of digestion they usually think about what happens in the stomach. A lot has
happened to digest the food way before it gets to the stomach. It starts in the mouth or oral cavity. It is
a process called mechanical digestion. First, Mastication begins. Mastication is the chewing of the
food. A person will crush, grind and tear the food apart. That gets the food ready for deglutition.
Deglutition is the swallowing of the mashed up food. When we swallow peristalsis begins. Peristalsis

Like the nose it also filters dust and other particles from reaching the lungs, and it has mucous
membranes to warm and moisten the air. When the air leaves the pharynx it moves on to the larynx.
The larynx is also called the voice box. It not only remains open for speech, but also during
respiration. The larynx merges with the trachea just below the vocal cords. The trachea is also called
the wind pipe, and it is a one inch tube that connects to the bronchi. The bronchi divide into the right
and left mainstream bronchi. After entering a lung each side branches off forming many smaller
passages. In the center of the bronchi is the lumen. It is the central opening where the air passes
through.
The lungs are sponges that fill with air, and fill every inch the surrounding thoracic cavity. The lungs
contain lobes. The lobes divide each lung, and the right lung being bigger has more lobe divisions.
The pulmonary veins enter here and exit here as well. Inside the lungs are clusters of air sacks that are
called alveoli. The alveoli are part of the bronchioles that enter each lung. The oxygen and carbon
dioxide are exchanged in the lungs. The exchange happens from a small blood vassal nod the alveoli.
When the oxygen exchange is completed the inhaled air moves into the blood. While the oxygen
moves into the blood the carbon dioxide is exhaled by the lungs. Before the blood can be moved
properly it has to be made into oxyhemoglobin.

Living life as a Balance
The narrative of Adam and Eve has demonstrated itself deserving of being analyzed and destroyed
into its center topics of Eros and Thanatos inside of the Oedipal conflict. The topics in the story are
difficult to identify with as I nearly see two individuals that share the same wishes to challenge and be
free. This record of the first father gives an incredible measure of understanding where people s
inclinations of disobedience started. Adam whom was the first man was produced using the dust
making him a Thanatos animal. In this case of him being made from dust would make a line
characterizing us as Thanatos and God, the law supplier, as Eros. As the story advances there are
occasions that remain as an affirmation of the battle within God and the characteristic man, father and
child, or Thanatos and Eros. The battles between these two have a large significance within the
Oedipal conflict. Just by knowing this it makes the narrative of Adam and Eve have a touch of a
psychoanalytic gleam.
To start with, God made Adam utilizing the most reduced component of the Earth, the dust. This is a
piece of information of Adam being created using the dust. Using the dust shows that Adam has a
Thanatos source being comprised of the most minimal type of the components. If there is ever any
disorder there must be the creation of order in my opinion. God sees Adam just lying on the floor
without life and then

The Extent to Which the Principle of Sustainability Guides Land Use Policy Development
The idea of developing in such a way that the present can meet their needs without future generations
needs being compromised is not a new one. It has been practiced and continues to be practiced by
many groups of people across the world. For example, this principle is embedded in Aboriginal beliefs
that they come from the land, and must return to the land and so must be custodians to the land. The
Brundtland Commission, chaired by the Norwegian prime minister, brought the concept to the
foreground where the famous definition of sustainability was given. This essay will discuss the idea of
sustainability, how ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Limits to Growth [2] is a book that tried to explain how economic expansion must soon come to an
end , because of environmental limits. Our Common Future , the sequel to this book, starts from
essentially similar understandings of the nature of the economy environment interconnections, but
draws the conclusion that growth can and should continue, however, this growth would take a
different form from past growth, and should be sustainable.
By the start of the 1990s about three quarters of councils in England, Scotland and Wales already had
a green plan of some kind in effect or in preparation, some explicitly recognising the need to extend to
global issues such as global warming as well as local matters. What was new in the 1990s was the
degree to which central government began to give formal support to sustainable development, and to
land use planning as a means of achieving it, in some cases producing the relevant policies and
legislation in response to international commitments. Sustainability is now one of the UK
governments key objectives. A commitment to national sustainability plans was a key component of
the UNCED agreements in 1992,

Essay On The Prelude By William Wordsworth
William Wordsworth conveys an unique joy through verse. It is a delight which includes information
and good truths, which would illuminate and lift up the peruser s sentiments. Verse ought to try to
bring about a significant improvement, smarter and more content. The capacity of verse is to spread
the message of co relationship and affection. Wordsworth is exceptionally viewed as a writer of
Nature. Nature is a wellspring of knowledge and he is an extraordinary supporter of this hypothesis.
For him a child living in the lap of Nature will become in good stature. Wordsworth is the consecrated
cleric of Nature and the verse of Nature thinks that its most grand representation in his work. It was

Wordsworth is worshipping Nature, but as Havens Raymond Dexter (1967) believes, this worshipping
is . . . not primarily for her own sake, but for her ministry . He is praying the spirit that is lying behind
Nature. This spirit is what nature herself guides the mind of the poet toward it. In Tintern Abbey , the
spirit of Nature inspires the poet with lofty thoughts that would lead to a divine being that animates
and activates everything. Nature is the source of mystical experience. Here, he reaches his final view
of Nature. Now he has complete trust in her,

America s Second Civil War
I pulled the trigger to my gun. The bullet went directly into the shoulder of the Boss. I hit the other
psycho in the head with my gun. Then I told the family to call the cops and not mention me. I got the
hell out of there. When I got home I took off all of my clothes, put new ones on, then burned them.
Let s fast forward two years later. I m married. And I m also serving my last few days in the U.S.
Military. I m here with my childhood friend, Austin. I started talking to him the day after I ran from
the gang, and we hit the bar to catch up with each other. The rest of my team consisted of Pvt. Ragan,
and Sgt. Blackwood. We were Blood Brothers.
Just my luck, on my last mission of service I killed the man responsible for America s second civil
war. Roderick Ryder. Ryder was making a run for his escape chopper, and Blackwood ordered me to
stop him. He got in the helicopter, and with my VKS Vykhlop Sniper Rifle I managed to pick off the
pilot. While Ryder was crawling out, I kicked him in the face and put one in between his eyes.
A day later were packing to go home and I m told that my wife was captured by the notorious Ko Gue
Gang. I save America, and this is how it pays me backs. I didn t know what I was expecting to happen.
It was obvious that the gang I ran from would be back, and after me. After my family. I should ve
killed my old boss. And that psycho with the knives. And the whole damn gang.
I explained everything to Austin while we were standing

Prince Sports Case Study Essay

Prince Sports Case Study
Prince Sports has managed to remain in their field, but the task was not easy. They have been in
business for over forty years and have continued to evolve to fit the needs of the consumers while also
managing to expand their products. In doing so, they have needed to keep their company ahead of
trends that have occurred in the market. So far, they have managed to do so, but with the continuously
changing market and economy, Prince Sports needs to constantly be performing research on how to
stay ahead. They also have to take in to consideration how these changes are going to affect the
products and customers they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The same can be said for trends and products. They have witnessed what a mistake it is to ignore their
past progress and simply focus on what is next. While it is important to spend a great deal of time
working towards advancement, especially in a market that is rising. However, it is very difficult to
ignore what brought about all of these changes and what has been working (Kerin, Hartley amp;
Rudelius, 2013).
Another challenge that they may face includes economic changes. Since, Prince Sports markets their
product internationally, they need to pay attention to the economies of all the countries they distribute
to. Significant changes in an economy can greatly change their customer base and needs resulting in
new marketing tactics having to be put in place (Benoit amp; Gleason, 2012).
Prince Sports can stay ahead of the changes they possibly face if they keep in mind when Linda
Glassel said It s learning, it s studying, it s talking to people who understand where the market is going
(Pg. 241). In order to stay ahead and take on any challenges that come their way, they need to employ
research methods that can help them solve their problems and come up with new ideas for marketing
their products. Besides using the Five Step marketing approach, there are specific aspects they should
pay close attention to. As a part of step three, they need to collect data, both primary and

Pros And Cons Of E-Portfolio Writing
Dear E Portfolio Reader,
Essay 2 was a paper I had wrote on the causes and effects of lying and by listing the pros and cons I
was able to provide a clear thought. This paper taught me how to introduce a point, you could see this
example in my third paragraph. In my third paragraph I talked about the then presidential candidates
and how they were prime examples of the negative affects lying can create. My writing will improve
more and more because of the newfound ability to catch the reader s attention thus persuading them
into believing me. There are many genres to writing and the one that troubled me the most was a
persuasive essay. I used to hate writing persuasive papers due to the single fact that I was not able to
persuade anyone.

Speech On Healthy Food
Ever since I was a kid, healthy food has been a hot topic. My mom had the food pyramid on our fridge
and I remember staring at the thing wondering if I had gotten the right amount of each food group in. I
remember that food pyramid being such a magical tool for healthy eating. That was before the
Internet. Now we have a ton of information at our fingertips about how to eat, what to eat, and when
to eat. Everyone has a different idea on what healthy food is, but if we are honest with ourselves, we
pretty much know the basics of eating healthy. Following are some quotes on healthy food that may
remind you what healthy food is really all about and inspire you to eat more of it. [poll id= 7 ] 1.
Healthy Food Is Accessible For Many Of Us Support a strong and healthy food system by supporting
our local farmers! Danielle Nierenberg Most of us have a farmer s market close enough to us that we
can make it there. It s important to go to these markets or buy from our local farmers. Why? Well, for
one, they sell all those healthy foods that we should be eating. And those foods are in season, which
means they are fresh and are not covered in preservatives to make them last longer than they should.
For instance, if your farmer s market has a fruit stand, and apples are there, buy them! Apples you buy
in the supermarket travel long distances and are treated with chemicals and wax so that they will last
up to a year. Why eat apples with chemicals when you can buy apples that were

Violence In The Civil Rights Movement Essay
Discuss the role of violence and the media during the civil rights movement. The media brought the
disparities and refusals of essential social equality in the South to the consideration of the whole
country. America in the 1950s was still an on a very basic level supremacist country, however the
NAZI revulsions in Europe had made prejudice with the exception of in the South an untenable good
position. Indeed, even those with supremacist perspectives would progressively deny such
perspectives in courteous society and progressively dismisses government strategies limiting Black

Southern prejudice and suppression of genuine Black terminations turned the aware of a country.
While many if not most White Americans still harbored supremacist sees, couple of outside the South

the beatings, murders, and different brutalities uncovered by the media. Numerous northern whites did

  • 3. Bend It Like Beckham Analysis Bend It Like Beckham , directed by Gurinder Chadha is a 2002 comedic sports film, based in London, England. The plot follows an athletic 18 year old girl; Jesminder Bhamra and her strict parents who detest Jess passion and love for playing soccer as it refutes their family s Indian Sikh religious morals. Jess feels a lot of pressure and guilt throughout the film as she is ultimately betraying her family, yet everyone in her team supports her, including the coach, Joe who tries to convince Jess that her parents don t always know what s best for her. In every family, there is often a distinct line between what a person wants to do and achieve, compared to what their parents and family members expect of them. This cliché can be easily applied to many of the characters including Tony Jess best pal, Juliet Paxton the player who suggested Jess joined the local team and Jess with their conflicts between their families. Aside from being the main character in the film, Jesminder suffers the worst conflict between her parents and family, throughout the entire storyline. Despite her parent s wishes and concerns towards Jess passion, she makes the decision to secretively continue to spend hours in the local park playing with other passionate male players whenever she could spare the time. This soon brought on an offer from a player from the local soccer team, who was amazed by Jess skills, and she soon joined the team, all without her parent s knowing. As mentioned earlier, ... There has been some controversy regarding the way historians portray women over the years, mainly because women tend to be unrepresented. Their importance is not stressed enough, historian devote little attention to class issues that seriously affected black women. Even when history is focused on African American studies, there is more of an emphasis on the black men, as opposed to black women. From the beginning, European whites have created an image of woman has unworthy and undeserving. In a world where status is heavily based on race and gender, woman already had two strikes against them: they are black and non male. During the colonial days in The United States, only white ... The North and South in Antebellum United States The North and South in Antebellum United States In the time just before the Civil War, the United States was one of the most successful nations in the world. The United States had become the world s leading cotton producing country and had developed industry, which would in the future, surpass that of Great Britain. Also, the United States possessed an advanced railroad and transportation system. However, despite its successes, the United States was becoming increasingly divided. The North and the South had many distinct differences in terms of their social, cultural, and economic characteristics that brought about sectionalism and, eventually, the Civil War. The North s social structure was very different from that of the South. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Factories in the North attracted former subsistence farmers because it was more efficient to buy food rather than to grow it. Systems like the Lowell System employed young women, provided them with room and board, and paid the women for their work in the factory. With the rise of numerous new American inventions, machines became more efficient and the United States had soon developed one of the best industrial economies in the world. Because of the need for effective transportation to distribute goods, new forms of transportation such as elaborate railroad and canal systems emerged. The south, on the other hand, clung to the slave based plantation system. The economy was based largely on the production of raw materials, mainly cotton. Eli Whitney s cotton gin allowed the cultivation of short staple cotton to bring Southern planters great success. Because the cotton industry was so lucrative, Southerners had no reason to become industrialized. However, the industrial economy of the North and the agrarian economy of the South led to a colonial relationship between the two, meaning that the South sold raw materials to the North in exchange for manufactured goods. The system put the South in an inferior position to the North, which obviously upset Southerners and led to greater tension between the two regions. This brilliant scientist biologically succeeded in creating a beautiful and virtuous daughter, and he succeeded through his experiments in making her deadly to get close to. If one views Rappaccini as a God, creating his own Eden with his own impure purposes, what does this mean? It is clear that Rappaccini is the least innocent of all of the characters in this short story. The uses colorful descriptions are also to describe Beatrice, drawing a parallel between her and the garden. A marble fountain is located in the garden, and given its description, the fountain is a symbol of physical corruption and purity of the soul, very much like Beatrice. The constant mention of Dante at the beginning, the viewpoint of Giovanni from his balcony looking down as into a pit, the poisonous vapors presumably rising from all of it, all suggests the ledge overlooking the deepest Hell where Dante and Vergil discussed the different degrees of sin, beginning with lust and ending with malice and betrayal. At the bottom of this pit, at its center, is not Lucifer, or even Rappaccini, but a fountain. There is no indication that the water flowing from the fountain is polluted. Beatrice s innocent spirit is very similar to the fountain: many passionate and holy things gush out of her heart, when the pure fountain has been opened from its depths and made seen in its transparency to the mental eye; remembrance that, had Giovanni known how to estimate them, it would have assured that all of the ugly mystery was only an earthly allusion. • 9. Tiger Woods And Its Effect On Golf Golf. A sport that was dull and mundane twenty years ago, evolved when Tiger Woods came to the scene. I started golfing during high school and loved it for the single fact, Tiger Woods played it. Growing up I pictured golf as that once boring sport played by old white men lacking a fan base. Just like myself, many people hated the idea of watching golf, so the sport needed a change. Tour earnings were low, scoring was average, and young people did not want to pick up the sport. Tiger Woods came on the tour in 1997 and astronomically changed the view of golf. The Tiger Effect on golf is real and more people have been trying to work harder to get to that Tiger bench mark. He single handily brought golf to the limelight and made it interesting to watch this godly like figure tear up the greens while becoming an idol to young golfers around the world. Just do it. Herland is about a society that is made up of entire women and the need for male counterpart is not necessary. The story is narrated through the eyes of a male narrator Von, Jeff and Terry. Three different points of view were given about how women should be treated. During reading the novel it was seen that Herland uses the stereotypes of females and used it to their advantages where they depict all females willing and able to complete the task that modern society would see fit for a male. The women in the novel clothing were not provocative however, it was built to convenient to their daily life and also for comfort. They did not show any flirtatious tendency, and the need of male in any shape or form was never necessary for them. They were mostly mothers, builders and, farmers. The women lived together peacefully without caring about gender biases in the world. The story was based on three males who was filled with boyish intention about a civilization of women waiting for a male to come and rescue them. But in contrast to this, the women of Herland did not need saving. This Utopia was created to show the negative flaws that society has about a female, for example, society will always think that a female is always a damsel in distress and always need saving. Why is the team ready for India market? Because there is big market demand and Bella India team has all the knowledge to meet the market requirement. And there are only 4 main players and market share is almost equally spread on 3 of them. This may imply that their products are similar in function and pricing. With Bella team s innovative design of mobile connectivity which also gives their new product advantage to compete with these 6/12 channel main market players. This feature can be developed as a wave 2 stage or an upgraded version to sell in another time when the market is able to use and buy. More features add more cost. But not every marriage turns out to be picture perfect like it does when you envision your future. The couples that cannot work out their issues turn to divorce. Some marriages need to end, especially ones that are abusive. In the end, the parent and children have a more positive effect because they got away from a bad situation. But marriages could end for many reasons, such as one of the spouses having an affair, the couple falling out of love, they could be fighting more often, and so forth. When parents do divorce, every child reacts to their parents splitting differently, but most of the time it will come with some effect whether it be positive or negative. Divorce changes the lives of a family, and children usually take it harder than the parents because they not only witness everything their parents are going through, but they have to deal with the circumstances of divorce as well. Children can develop depression from their parents getting a divorce. Dr. Strohschein found that, compared to parents who remain married, parents who divorce tend to be younger and report higher levels of family dysfunction and depression, and lower levels of marital satisfaction. Much of what precedes the play portion of the novel is dedicated to establishing the background of the novel. This passage, in specific, sets the tone of the novel as it describes the ideology of the witch hunts, and how they came into effect. The passage summarizes the fundamental ideas of the witch hunts as a paradox stating, The witch hunt was a perverse manifestation of the panic which set among the classes when the balance began to turn toward greater individual freedom (Miller 11). These words are an important part of the novel because it lays out a groundwork which the rest of the ideas and concepts that are brought up in the novel will build themselves upon. Simply put, it sets the tone for the rest of the novel. It describes the fears that the characters have, and what conflicts they will undergo. When Brit and Sam are kissing Brit is taking photo and she makes him repeat the photo multiple times as she wants to post it online. She wants this photo to be perfect as she wants to seem perfect so she does not lose her reputation. When they leave the room and Martin comes in Sam s conversation with Brit is read by him and he discovers what they said about him. This causes Martin to be anger and helps start building tension between them, this scene destroys the idea that online you wear a mask as sooner or later people will find out. When he sends the photos of Brit and Sam to all their contracts this ruins the persona they have built about their relationship and removes their mask. Owen was a young man of 18 years when he enlisted into the army. He was sucked into the propaganda of war perceived as sweet, Owen was shot, a week before the Armistice day, as he was leading his men across the canal, he was a mere age of 25, war left him with a slight stammer which was unusually usual in poet s. In contrast to Futility, oxymoron one another sun snow one is associated with heat whilst the other portrays bitter, freezing temperature, Owen portrays how life s a battle in itself where you ll face many challenges from extreme coldness to scorching heat; loneliness to overcrowded areas, both poems discuss how nature itself can have a more traumatising affect on them than war, its futile for the soldiers as they are deteriorating physically like old beggars , they ve not being granted the promises that it will make you a more respected, mentally and physically stronger The sibilance of the repeated s sound Sudden successive flights of bullets streak the silence , creates the effect of whispering, an attempt to not draw the attention of the enemy, who are pointlessly using flares to see what is going on. The larynx is also called the voice box. It not only remains open for speech, but also during respiration. The larynx merges with the trachea just below the vocal cords. The trachea is also called the wind pipe, and it is a one inch tube that connects to the bronchi. The bronchi divide into the right and left mainstream bronchi. After entering a lung each side branches off forming many smaller passages. In the center of the bronchi is the lumen. It is the central opening where the air passes through. The lungs are sponges that fill with air, and fill every inch the surrounding thoracic cavity. The lungs contain lobes. The lobes divide each lung, and the right lung being bigger has more lobe divisions. The pulmonary veins enter here and exit here as well. Inside the lungs are clusters of air sacks that are called alveoli. The alveoli are part of the bronchioles that enter each lung. The oxygen and carbon dioxide are exchanged in the lungs. The exchange happens from a small blood vassal nod the alveoli. When the oxygen exchange is completed the inhaled air moves into the blood. Analysis Of Paul O Brien s Living Life As A Balance Maira Valencia English 1c June 10,2015 Paul o brien Living life as a Balance The narrative of Adam and Eve has demonstrated itself deserving of being analyzed and destroyed into its center topics of Eros and Thanatos inside of the Oedipal conflict. The topics in the story are difficult to identify with as I nearly see two individuals that share the same wishes to challenge and be free. This record of the first father gives an incredible measure of understanding where people s inclinations of disobedience started. Adam whom was the first man was produced using the dust making him a Thanatos animal. In this case of him being made from dust would make a line characterizing us as Thanatos and God, the law supplier, as Eros. As the story advances there are occasions that remain as an affirmation of the battle within God and the characteristic man, father and child, or Thanatos and Eros. The battles between these two have a large significance within the Oedipal conflict. Just by knowing this it makes the narrative of Adam and Eve have a touch of a psychoanalytic gleam. To start with, God made Adam utilizing the most reduced component of the Earth, the dust. This is a piece of information of Adam being created using the dust. Using the dust shows that Adam has a Thanatos source being comprised of the most minimal type of the components. If there is ever any disorder there must be the creation of order in my opinion.
