Should Animals Be Kept In Zoos Essay
Zoos are the places where animals are kept. Some people argue that animals shall not be kept in zoos
as they deserve freedom. Zoos cannot provide them with enough space, therefore, they cannot run
around so as to grow up freely.
On the other hand, some people argue that animals should be kept in zoos. Nowadays, forests and
mountains have been cut down by people. If we leave animals alone, they might have nowhere to find
food and nowhere to live. It is for the sake of the animals themselves that we keep them in the zoos.

should be kept in zoos, and there is no common consensus among people on it. Some ... Show more

The larger animals seemed to go quietly about their business but the animal that caught my attention
was the adult elephant that seemed to be pacing up and down out of boredom. This is understandable
because even though the park has given the elephants massive amounts of green space to themselves,
in the wild they are used to hundreds and hundreds of miles that become their domain. The equivalent
would be like placing a human under house arrest.
The more dangerous animals like lions and tigers are also given their own large enclosures and people
can view them from behind a glass screen. Their focus on that day was on keeping out of the sun by
lying under shady trees and Izmir zoo is very much backing the stance that if you do not get to see an
animal then you should return at a different time. They are not forcing the animals into any ridiculous
side shows involving party tricks and silly costumes.
Animals aside, the park does give a lot of information to visitors about the animal that they are seeing
and two days within a week are dedicated to educational tours for children. This is to describe the
traits, natural habitat and eating routines of an animal. It is quite plain to see that the park aims to keep
its animals in the best conditions possible however this does not distract from the moral and ethically
question of Should animals should be kept in

Rwanda Genocide Similarities
Similarities and differences between the genocide in Rwanda and Cambodia.
INTODUCTION
In my essay I have decided to use the focus on the genocide in Rwanda and Cambodia. The reason I
chose Rwanda and Cambodia is because they both stand out for different reasons.
Rwanda was the most effective genocide in modern history, following the three months after president
Habyaramana s Death approximately 20 000 people were killed in Kigali.
Cambodia is a very different kind of genocide because it is often described as a self genocide. The
genocide involved the total extermination of several minorities in Cambodia: Ethnic Vietnamese, The
Muslim Charms and Thais among others.
An obvious similarity between the two genocides are the considerable loss of life. Both the genocides
took place in less developed countries, as opposed to ex. Industrialized Germany during the
Holocaust.
The Rwandan genocide stemmed from etching rivalry which can indirectly be traced back to the ...

Parmehutu led a social revolution which overthrew the Tutsi ruling class, which resulted in a massive
death of the Tutsis and about 200 000 Tutsi were exiled (Waller, Becoming Evil: How Ordinary
People Commit Genocide and Mass Killing, 2002). Some Tutsis remained in Rwanda because of
intermarriage or other family ties, these would face discrimination and be seen as lesser citizens by the
Hutu government (Rwandan Genocide, n.d.). In 1985 The Rwandan Patriotic Front was formed by a
group of exiled Tutsi nationalists, and they demanded their right to return to Rwanda as well as an end
to the discrimination of the Tutsi. A rebel group of the Rwandan Patriotic Front invaded Rwanda in
October of 1990, an act which served to re ignite the Tutsi hatred and was the final act that made the
way for the genocide. Hutu s who sympathized with the Tutsis and resisted by defending, hiding, or
providing aid to the Tutsis were killed (Rwandan Genocide,

Gil And Inez s Midnight In Paris
When you hear the words romance films , Woody Allen instantly pops up in your mind. He is a
director known for being cheesy and creative. His movies can be absolutely moving or heart breaking.
Anyways, they always have a charming touch. Indeed, Midnight in Paris it s a romance fantasy movie
released in 2011. It is set in Paris and follows an engaged couple, Gil and Inez. Gil is a writer who
spends his time day dreaming about the stylish Paris under the rain in the 40s while Inez thinks its
overrated. Likewise, she is keen on materialistic stuff. During the trip, the couple face many dramatic
issues, beginning with the fact that Gil found a way to travel to the past in his favorite decade but he
must leave cautiously so no one would suspect.

Analysis Of The Film Snowpiercer
The plot in the film Snowpiercer, directed by Bong Joon Ho, follows lead actor Chris Evans, who
stated in reference to the film, I absolutely think it should be seen on a big screen. But I read
something where someone from RADiUS that said, A screen is a screen is a screen (Daniels). This
quote is significant because it relates to the current expansion of entertainment delivery systems in the
world. Nonetheless, Snowpiercer is a film that was directed for the cinema screen. When it was
released in 2013, the film made approximately eighty seven billion dollars internationally, and it was
considered one of the first films of the year in the competition for an Oscar (Pomerantz). Furthermore,
this film was produced by SnowPiercer, Moho Film, Opus Pictures, Stillking Films, and CJ
Entertainment ( Snowpiercer ). In terms of the story, the setting of Snowpiercer is 2031where the
entire earth is frozen except for a train and its survivors. The train is divided into a class system where
the poor are at the back of the train, and the wealthy are at the front. With this to say, the poor are
treated appallingly, forced to live in cramped and dirty spaces, and are given scarce supplies of food.
Thus, the story follows Curtis, led by actor Chris Evans, as he devises a revolt from the back of the
train to fight through the enemies guarding the front (Snowpiercer). Snowpiercer is a diverse film
adaptation that uses vivid imagery and a compelling narrative to exemplify the spectacle,

Ethics In Casablanca
Brandon Coletti In Los Angeles, a mysterious driver is a man of few words who works as a garage
mechanic for his only friend Shannon. He also moonlights as a stuntman in Hollywood films and
driver of getaway cars in heists. One day, he helps his neighbor Irene, whose husband is in prison, and
her son Benicio and he falls in love with her. However, a few days later her husband Standard Gabriel
is released from prison and they meet each other in the building. Standard is pressed by the criminal
Cook to rob a pawn shop to pay for the protection he had in prison, and the driver decides to help him
by driving the getaway car. However, the heist does not work as planned, and now the driver finds he
has to protect Irene and Benicio from mobsters. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The only thing that changes is that Driver is willing to against his own set of rules to protect his life
and the life of Standard s family. There are no competing philosophies. Greed is the primary influence
behind the actions of Shannon and the mob bosses. In regard to Normative ethics the film explores the
idea of not hurting anyone. In a sense it promoted victimless crimes. Driver never intended to kill
anyone. Although he was a violent man by nature he refrained from doing so because he believed it to
be the right thing to do. This is why it became part of his credo. The film explores when it is necessary
to go against what one believes is wrong. Driver needs to kill in order to protect himself and Standard
s family. It can be said that there is some utility being used when Driver goes on the hunt to kill the
mob bosses who are going to attack Benicio and Irene. Driver can go and try to escape but there
would still be a chance that all 3 of them would end up being killed. So Driver makes a sacrifice out of

Unemployment And Its Effects On Society
Problem Statement Unemployment is a very important problem that it is not only an economic issue,
but it is related to the social and political issues. Increasing the level of unemployment will decrease
the level of Keynes effective demand that is going to increase the investors uncertainty and less
investments will take place. As a result, the economy as a whole will move from recession to
depression and the unemployment is dramatically increasing. On the other hand, unemployment has a
direct impact on society in a variety of negative ways. A lot of studies found that the level of crimes
and drug users is high among unemployment citizens. The unemployed may consider crime as an
alternative path to earn money. Finally, the high level of unemployment, in most cases, could lead to
instability in the political system due to protest against the existing political system. In conclusion,
unemployment is a complex issue that needs a lot of work to solve it. The full employment economic
society is a precondition behind economic stabilization and prosperity. This dissertation takes the
position that relying on the private sector to solve the problem of unemployment is historically not
possible. Therefore, the government intervention towards solving the problem of unemployment is
necessary. The government s responsibility is filling the gap of unemployment by investing in projects
that are usually not handled by the private sector due to small margin of profit and high level of

The National Law Center On Homelessness Poverty Essay
The National Law Center on Homelessness Poverty currently estimates that each year at least 2.5 to
3.5 million Americans sleep in shelters, transitional housing, and public places not meant for human
habitation. At least an additional 7.4 million have lost their own homes and are doubled up with others
due to economic necessity. According to Point in Time Count, San Diego had 8,692 homeless people.
Almost 3,800 of them were sleeping in emergency shelters or transitional housing. The Count showed
more than 5000 people were unsheltered. Some slept in cars, sidewalks or abandoned building.
Moreover, 61%of the homeless people in shelters were children and 40% were families and 1157 were
homeless veterans. Two advocates put this dilemma of the issue of falling from the scene into
perspective:
Something remarkable has happened to the spectacle of the street dwelling poor in the two decades
since it reappeared on the public stage: Homelessness became domesticated routine; an all but
expected feature of the urban landscape. No longer cause for vocal concern, let alone outrage, it has
been integrated into that cheerless diorama of un abashed wealth and relentless poverty that now
passes for normalcy in American cities. (Hopper, 2003, p. 193)
Decades and decades have passed without the resolve to end such an epidemic . . . Homelessness
doesn t end. Year after year, shelters provide refuge, churches and temples provide meals, downtown
missions offer care, social service agencies

Business Writing
Improving Business Writing
Why is writing important in business? Writing is essential in any form of business. We use writing in
all types of communication such as: email, facsimile, letter writing, etc. Writing skills are important to
the business professional because it prepares the workplace for well written business communications.
The three topics I will cover can serve as an outline for improving writing skills in businesses. The
topics are principles of business writing, how to write an effective business letter, and how to improve
business writing within the company. These topics will aid in examining and improving our company
s employees writing skills.
First, there are four principles of writing: Empathy, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Following the Attention Line is the Body. The body contains detailed information about the topic. The
body includes the introductory paragraph, one or more body paragraphs, and a concluding paragraph.
Finally, there is the closing. The closing is usually ended with a complementary closing and signature.
A list of examples include: Sincerely, Cordially, Best regards, and Yours very truly. Remember to
capitalize the first word in the complimentary closing and end it with a comma. After the closing,
there is a copy line. When the copy line is used, other people know who will be receiving a copy. The
copy line usually includes a symbol: c: for copy, pc: for photocopy, and bc: blind copy (used only to
limit readers of other copies). The names of the recipients should follow these symbols listed in
organizational rank (Writing@CSU: Writing Guide, 2004, p. 1). All of the components discussed
above are effective ways to write an effective business letter. An effective business letter speaks to a
specific reader. Therefore, the right type of business letter must reach the reader. The most common
types of business letters are: 1) Acknowledgement Letters, 2) Adjustment Letters, 3) Complaint
Letters, 4) Inquiry Letters, 5) Order Letters, and Response Letters. (Writing@CSU: Writing Guide,
2004 p. 1). These type letters helps guide the reader to understanding what the writer intended.

Advertising, Public Relations, and Personal Selling Currently Ali Cakes does not heavily focus on

Mediterranean Harbor Pijnacker
Mediterranean Harbor by Adam Pijnacker
Mediterranean Harbor is a painting of a ship on a harbor with various people gathering and packing
packages. The painting was painted in the 1600s by Adam Pijnacker. Behind the ship is the ocean and
the sky. The sky covers most of the top of the painting making it a main focal point in the painting.
The middle of the sky is a clear blue while both the left and the rights sides are covered with brownish
grey clouds. The lower left side of the sky also has some orange colorage. This is because the sun is
setting behind it, therefore, the time of day this painting is set in a sunset. In front of these clouds is a
dark ship decorated with gold design. The ship s size makes it a main focal point of the painting. ...

It shows that these people are more important than those around them, therefore we should pay
attention to them. All three of them, however, are looking in different directions. One is looking back,
perhaps at the town. In the right of the painting, another is looking down at a man who is tying up a
package, pointing, and probably ordering him how to tie it. The other man is dressed in a salmon
colored jacket. The painting is mostly made up of earth tone colors so this man stands out more than
anyone else. He is also carrying a sword around his waist. His face is not shown, but by the position of
his body it seems that he is looking out at either the ship or the horizon behind it. There are a couple
people in front of him who seem to be fixing packages and tending to a large horse at the right of the
painting. Their clothing is more earth tone which allows them to blend in more with the ground and
the buildings. There are also people in the background of the painting who are also wearing mundane
clothing and seem to be carrying packages. The front of the painting is full of things that are meant to
be carried onto the ship. Although the things themselves are expensive, it makes the front of the
painting seem cluttered and

Schools have very different policy s when it comes to what the 1st amendment says. 2 cases are proof

case where freedom of speech of a student gets taken away from him. This is due to the fact the
student was making sexual remarks in a school speech which the principle deemed inappropriate for

that they had a right to enforce the use of armbands to control the classroom environment. There was a
testimony that the armbands did indeed affect the school. The armbands drew comments and students
with the armbands were being made fun of for wearing them. A math teacher said he Had his lesson

Jesus Barron And The Eucharist
Bishop Barron believed that the Eucharist was theologically problematic. He goes on to say, that Jews
at the time were extremely disgusted by the idea of eating his human flesh, because they did not
consume any flesh. However, instead of Jesus stepping back and conforming his thoughts into a better
analogy, he did exactly the opposite. He carried on with the idea of eating his flesh by stating: Unless
you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you shall not have life within you.
Jesus intentionally expanded this notion in order to let the Jews at the time step out of their notions
and have faith in Him. The Greek word that is used is not the one for eating but the one for gnawing .
This further emphasized the animal

Essay on Violence in Television
When families sit down to watch television, they expect to watch family type of shows. Family type
shows meaning rated PG or PG13, sitcoms and movies that do not include weapons, killing, foul
language, and non socially accepted actions. When children killing, they start to believe that it is
accepted. Do children think that killing and hurting others and themselves have little meaning to the
real life, children can become traumatized. Most killers or violators of the law blame their behavior on
the media, and the way that television portrays violators. Longitudinal studies tracking viewing habits

According to the National Television Violence Study, the context in which violence is portrayed is as
important to its impact as the amount of violence. The study concluded that 66% of children s
programming had violence. Of the shows with violent content three quarters demonstrated unpunished
violence and when violence occurred 58% of the time, victims were not shown experiencing pain.
That makes the children think that violence is just like riding a bike, simple as that (NTVS, 1 2).
Parents try not to let their children watch shows that they would watch due to the fact that there is a lot
of violence that occurs. When parents sit down and watch the cartoons that their children are
watching, they can notice that the violence is incredibly higher. The level of violence during Saturday
morning cartoons is higher than the level of violence during prime time. There are 3 to 5 violent acts
per hour in prime time, versus the 20 25 acts per hour on Saturday morning. Media violence is
especially damaging to young children (under age 8) because they cannot easily tell the difference
between real life and fantasy. Violent images on television and in movies may seem real to young
children. Viewing violent images can traumatize innocent children (NTVS, 1 2).
There is a strategy to help the children understand that what they are watching is not educational. You
can tell your child that you are

The Importance Of Legal Responsibility After A Car Accident
People who leave the scene of an accident are scared because they don t have a license or valid
insurance. The fleeing party might have been drinking or have an illegal substance in the car too.
Leaving the scene of the accident doesn t mean they can t be found and held responsible for the
accident, damages and injuries. Once they leave the scene of the accident, they might be held
responsible for damages even if they weren t at fault. It could also lead to serious criminal charges.
Legal Responsibility after a Car Accident
After being involved in a car accident, both parties are required to stay and exchange identification
and insurance information as well as vehicle registration number. You ll want to get the details of the
driver and passengers in the other vehicle.
You re required to contact local law enforcement to alert them to the accident. They might not send a
police cruiser to respond to the accident if there haven t been injuries or serious damage. If the police
don t respond, you ll be required to go to the police station and file your own report for the insurance
company.
In an accident with no people present, the driver is required to leave contact information and an
explanation where it can be found by the owner of the vehicle or property that was damaged.

Health Information Exchange And The Healthcare Field
Health Information Exchange is a fairly new concept in the healthcare field. There were several
precursors to HIE that were in use throughout the United States, these include Community Health
Management Information Systems, Community Health Information Networks, and Regional Health
Information Organizations. There are several data factors that make up a Health Information
Exchange, the Electronic Health Record and the Personal Health Record. One of the biggest concerns
about medical information is keeping it safeguarded, and there are three ways to accomplish this, with
administrative, physical, and technical safeguards. Finally, there are a number of benefits to having a
secure Health Information Exchange. The benefits include; accessibility, wherein multiple users can
access the data at the same time, communication, wherein providers can share information quickly
with no corruption of critical data, and better healthcare management. By building disease and chronic
care registries, symptoms, treatment, and outcomes are tracked. The Health Information Exchange
also enables contagious disease and bioterrorism tracking, but reporting symptoms to the CDC daily.

Matilda The Musical Analysis
Family friendly, heart tugging, hilarious, energy filled, Matilda the Musical does it all in this
unbelievable performance and is a must see for everyone. The humor is perfect for all ages and will
have everyone laughing, but at the same time still has little remarks that go over the kid s head.
Matilda the Musical is currently playing in the beautiful Cambridge Theatre in London s West End
and the set and special of effects of the Matilda are a little unnecessary at times, but still impressive
nonetheless. This show will have you laughing and talking about the performance for days to come!
Based on Roald Dahl s novel, Matilda is the story of an unwanted girl born to abusive parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Wormwood, that want nothing to do with her. The incredible conniving Mr. Wormwood, played

championships that she totally neglects the fact that she is so visibly pregnant. However, the child she
gives birth to is Matilda Wormwood and she is an exceptional little girl with mind powers and an
innate ability to read and tell stories. Later on Matilda is sent to a dreadful school under the leadership
of the callous headmaster, Miss Trunchbull. Miss Trunchbull, played by David Shannon, is tyrannical

A Second Or Foreign Language Learner Needs For Gain Knowledge
2.0 Introduction A second or foreign language learner needs to gain knowledge in and about the target
language. In order to do that , one needs to know how to build morphemes into words and words into
sentences (linguistic or grammatical competence). Yet, this knowledge is not the end of learning a
language. While grammatical competence may be the essence of learning a new language; on its own,
it is not enough. A learner also needs to know how to use that knowledge appropriately in a social
context. One needs to know about speech act,(e.g., requesting, suggesting, arguing, etc.) and
politeness (sociolinguistic or pragmatic competence). In addition to these competencies, other
components are also required. A learner needs to know how to produce a largely cohesive and
coherent text, either in writing or in speaking (discourse competence). As a learner might not
understand the total underlying system of a language, s/he needs to know how to repair the breakdown
of a conversation (strategic competence). In this chapter, I will define the term communicative
competence, explain the difference between competence and performance, and shed light on four
theories of communicative competence, i.e., Chomsky s theory, Hymes s theory , Widdowson s theory,
and Halliday s theory. In the second section, five frameworks of communicative competence will be
focused on, i.e., Canale and Swain s model, Bachman and Palmer s model, Celce Murcia s framework,
the common European framework

An Outsider In The Outsiders
The Outsiders is one of the themes in the story. Looking at life as an outsider and the feeling of being
treated as an outsider is a point of view. Someone who always feels like an outsider might believe that
life is unfair. We as teenagers tend consider ourselves to be grown ups already, but in reality we are
still under the control of others and this loss of control leads to the feeling that life isn t fair. For
example, Ponyboy understands that he is not safe walking the streets alone because he could be
attacked by the way he is dressed; this makes him feel like an outsider in his own town. Ponyboy sees
unfairness every day. With his parents being dead, Darry is forced to work two jobs to support the
brothers, while Soda has dropped out ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Family connections tend to be difficult, but in the Ponyboy`s family, the right to stay together is a
nonstop conflict. Since their parents death, Darry has taken the responsibility of guardianship for Pony
and Soda, and under that pressure he seems way older than he really is. He no longer views the two
boys as siblings, but more as a responsibility. Darry sees Ponyboy s potential and has high
expectations for him, but Ponyboy complains that Darry is a stricter than his father. Although by the
end of the book he understands Darry. Gang relationships are included in the theme of family.
Ponyboy s gang members need the support and security that they find in the gang. The home life
circumstances that these boys find themselves in are usually abusive. They have resort to the gang for
the care and support that should have come from parents. Johnny is painfully aware of the difference
between the gang and a family and through him Pony begins to understand how lucky he is to have a
caring family. The third major theme that runs through The Outsiders is the use of a black and white
world. People have a tendency to embrace each other and events as absolutes. For example, The
characters in The Outsiders are either rich or poor, Socs or

He had finished with his business in Anchorage, so he decided to catch a plane back to Portland a few
days early. He was going to surprise Natalie. Take her out to an early dinner; Champagne and
candlelight, back to their place for a night of love making, slip the ring into her breakfast and ask her
to be his forever.
It was going to be the perfect surprise. He would make sure of it. But first, he needed to take a shower
and change out of his traveling clothes.
He was surprised to see her car parked in the driveway to their home, since she was normally out at
this time of day. There was another car there too. Maybe it was the car that belonged to the friend she
had told him about. The one that would keep her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Daniel, what are you doing here? Natalie asked, visibly shaken at having been caught.
Apparently watching you fuck another man. He said coolly as he glared at this intruder. He says coolly,
again how is he so composed? I m not saying he shouldn t be, but why is he? Past actions on Nat s
part? Him being hurt before? Or is he simply a stoic type of man?

Don t tell me it isn t what it looks like dammit! I know what it looks like and it looks pretty fucking
bad from my angle Nat. I want you gone. You and all of your shit gone. Get. The. Fuck. Out. There s
nothing more to say than that Nat. Take him and go. He said as he turned and walked down the stairs
into the kitchen, opening the refrigerator, looking for the whiskey he kept in there.
Daniel, wait. Let me explain. Don t be rash, don t do this. Natalie pleaded, chasing after him.
Natalie, there is NOTHING to explain. I saw you! Don t you get it? I watched you scream his name as
you rode him, as he took you again. As he came. Don t you see? There is nothing you can say that will
change what I saw. Nothing. Now go. You can come and finish getting your shit on Sunday. I need a

Edward Scissor Hands And Charlie And The Chocolate Factory...
Director Tim Burton is known in Hollywood for his early film career that was fueled by almost
unbelievable good luck, but it s his talent and originality that has kept him at the top of the Hollywood
tree by being able to merge fantasy as well as horror together to create the blockbuster movies he has
produced today. Even though Tim Burton started off his early career having extraordinary good luck,
he quickly morphed into being one of the most well known directing names today. Every director has
a certain structure or style that acts as a signature to their name. Burton s films Edward Scissor Hands
(1990) and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005) both share similar technical features that ensure

My Vocation And Passion Is To Be A Paramedic
My vocation and passion is to become a paramedic. During my adolescent years, a close relative with
complex health needs was cared for and treated by paramedics. The idea of a profession which would
utilise problem solving abilities has always interested and encouraged me to pursue a career as a
paramedic. Having had the opportunity to observe frontline paramedics has inspired me to be part of a
dedicated and dynamic team. As I have had employment in Accident and Emergency and a doctor s
surgery, this had made me recognise and acknowledge the importance of patient care. I have
experience practicing in the workplace lawfully, safely and effectively. Using clear and concise record
management and documentation whilst continually maintaining patient confidentiality. In previous
jobs, particularly in the NHS, I have experience in communication with individuals from multiple
ethnic background, people who are deaf, blind, learning difficulties and people suffering with mental
health conditions. As I strongly believe in equality and diversity, all individuals should be treated

A challenge I intend to embrace. The thought of being able to help save lives, and provide help where
needed, really inspires me. An occasion where I was able to demonstrate my willingness to help others
was when returning from work one day when I came across an elderly lady who had fell. Using first
aid skills, I parked up and offered my assistance. The incident had involved the lady in a quiet street
falling over, who looked to be in serious condition; ensuring she was warm and comfortable, and
assured her that help was on the way. Once the emergency services had arrived, I walked away
knowing I had at least assured the lady of her safety. Even today, I still feel proud of myself for my act
of courage and believe I dealt with the situation in the best way of could, remaining calm and

St. John s Depiction Of Babies In The Bible
The Bible clearly shows that life begins at conception in many passages. There are several passages
that portray babies in the womb as alive and real, individual people. It also states that God created and
loves all life, and that all life is sacred to God, but especially humans, who are made in God s image
and likeness. Murder is condemned in the bible in many places. If an unborn baby is a human and
murder of a human is condemned, than should not abortion also be condemned?
Babies in their mothers womb are clearly persons as is shown in the bible. St. Paul says in Galatians
1:15, But when [God], who from my mother s womb had set me apart and called me through his
grace, was pleased. Here St. Paul is saying that God created him not ... Show more content on

A prohibition against murder is included in one of the Ten Commandments of God given to Moses in
Exodus. In Exodus 20:13, we read Thou shalt not kill. This is the sixth commandment of the ten given
to Moses by God. If a baby in his mother s womb is a living person, then abortion is murder, because
there can never be justification for the murder of an innocent baby. In Exodus 23:7, it also speaks of
murder: Have nothing to do with a false charge and do not put an innocent or honest person to death,
for I will not acquit the guilty. God says do not put an innocent person to death. Who is more innocent
than a baby, especially one not even born yet and still in the womb? Abortion is the murder of
innocent human lives. In Matthew 5:27, the Scripture again talks about the evil of murder, You have
heard that it was said to the people long ago, You shall not murder, and anyone who murders will be
subject to judgment. All of these passages show that God condemns the taking of innocent human life
in any

Truman Capote Character Traits
Truman Capote was conceived Truman Streckfus Persons on September 30, 1924, in New Orleans,
Louisiana. Capote was as intriguing a character as the individuals who showed up in his stories. His
folks were an odd match, a residential area young lady named Lillie Mae and a beguiling rascal called
Arch. They went to a great extent to disregard their child, regularly abandoning him being taken care
of by others. Capote spent quite a bit of his young life under the watchful eye of his mom s relatives in
Monroeville, Alabama. In Monroeville, Capote got to know a young Harper Lee. The two were
paradoxical to one another. Capote was a touchy individual who was singled out by different children
for being a pushover, while Lee was an unpleasant and tumble boyish girl. In spite of their differences,
Lee observed Capote to be an enjoyment, calling him Merlin for his inventive and imaginative ...

Lillie Mae, now calling herself Nina, could without much of a stretch be unfeeling or kind to Truman,
and he never realized what s in store for her. She regularly singled out him for his delicate
development, and for not resembling different young men. His stepfather appeared to be a more steady
identity in the home, yet Truman was not keen on his assistance or support at the time. All things
considered, he was authoritatively embraced by his stepfather, and his name was changed to Truman
Garcia Capote in 1935. A fair understudy, Capote did well in the courses that intrigued him and gave
careful consideration in those that did not. He went to a private young men s school in Manhattan
from 1933 to 1936, where he enchanted some of his colleagues. An uncommon adolescent, Capote
had a present for recounting stories and engaging

Textual Analysis Beowulf
Ms. Dawson, this poem is getting good a little too good. Lol. Well, Beowulf decided to return a favor
to King Hrothgar by coming to fight the big coward Grendel. Lines 94 96 supports my idea of
Beowulf wasn t afraid of nothing or nobody. He could have been in the king s position, but he chose
not too for the simplest facts that he wasn t next in line. Although he was the strongest, he wanted to
do what was ethical. Beowulf decided to take 14 of his best men because he knew they were his ride
or die. They weren t going to get scared and back down. His men weren t cowards. Line 111 and 120
supports my decision to where they stayed strapped and ready for who or whatever. In line 115 118, it
describes their sign from God whether or not they should go and fight this battle or to turn the boat
around and go home. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sometimes I m not afraid to ask God to send me a sign. I need that sign. Life gets hard, and I need
God to show me the way. Beowulf and his men received that sign when they traveled in a smooth ride.
Line 153 helps to build the structure of the epic poem and helps to create the scenery of when Beowulf
meets one of King Hrothgar guards. I started to see Beowulf being a cocky character. He s steady
trying to reel the guard in to let him through the gate. He gave the guard his father s name that carriers
a reputation to help lead him into the gate, but the guard got a little attitude towards the way Beowulf
was answering him. I personally don t blame him. Beowulf even insulated King Hrothgar s men. He
didn t want them to help because they must wasn t doing nothing for twelve long dreary years. Why
should he need their help? Foolish, I know. Beowulf wanted them to be about not to talk about. His
men could talk all the noise they wanted and still be about. In life, they tell you not to talk stuff you

Advantages Of Flameless Candles
For many years, candles have been used to create a calming and relaxing mood. Over the last few
years, flameless candles have become increasingly popular as a replacement for regular candles. These
new battery operated candles look practically identical to regular candles. They even have that same
flickering, glowing light that everyone loves. However, these breakthrough candles have several
advantages over the old fashioned ones. Here are some of the reasons why flameless candles beat
regular candles.
Flameless Candles Are Safe.
The best reason to use flameless candles is due to safety. Since these candles operate without a flame,
there is no fire danger like there is with the regular kind. With a candle that is flameless you don t

This is because there is no flame and no danger with these astonishing candles.
Do you need a little extra light in a nursery or child s room? Need a nightlight, and there s no outlet in
the right place? Would you like to put a candle near a curtain, wall, plant, or decoration? Maybe you
would like to put a candle in a bookshelf. Do you need light under a cabinet? Maybe on top of a
cabinet?
As you can see, the places that you can put these remarkable candles are endless. As you think about
it, you can see just how useful flameless candles can be and why they ve become so popular.
Flameless candles last a long time.
Flameless candles are battery operated, so they will last a long time without having to even touch
them. The length of time that your candle will operate on a set of batteries varies. Usually, it will be
between 100 hours and 1,000 hours. Some newer models extend this time even longer. Most regular
candles will burn down to the point that they are unusable after this amount of time. However, these
fantastic candles will continue to glow. When the battery runs down, you just pop in a new set and
they are operating

The Case of American Apparel(a Clothing Manufacturer)
Two Practices in Business related to the topic from Business Magazines. The case of American
Apparel(a clothing manufacturer): Charney squarely declares : I ve had relationships, loving
relationships, that I m proud of. I think it s a First Amendment right to pursue one s affection for
another human being. And he is talking about his staff. He has admitted to having numerous love
affairs with colleagues in the past. He is even known to work at office dressed in nothing other than
underwear. This attitude in fact percolates to American Apparel s culture, is almost second nature for
most of the employees and is visible even in the decor of its stores. The stores white walls are dotted

Though not a legal requirement for any business(yet), these programs do tend to serve as an assurance
in the minds of the employers that should there be a case of sexual harassment at work, they do have a
recourse, a channel to address it. And to protect them in case a lawsuit is filed. Some reports suggest
that sexual harassment cases are increasingly on the rise. Not only this, the reports also suggest that
the harassment has reached the higher levels of management, as in the case of American Apparel.
Keeping this in mind, it becomes all the more imperative and necessary for a firm to adopt a sexual
harassment prevention policy. It is imperative that an employee is provided a safe and comfortable
environment to work in. In Sexual Harassment in the Workplace: A Primer , Barry Roberts and
Richard Mann recommend that businesses need to understand sexual harassment; communicate a
policy; enforce a policy; establish procedures; and enforce policy. In that respect, a sexual harassment
training program plays an all important role. For a policy or set of grievance procedures to be
effective, all employees, from supervisors to line workers, administrators to custodial staff, need to be
knowledgeable about the company s policy and grievance procedures. Sexual harassment training
needs to be very explicit in

Gender Roles In Monty Python And The Holy Grail
Monty Python and the Holy Grail, directed by Terry Gilliam and Terry Jones, tells the story of King
Arthur and he and his knight s quest for the Holy Grail. The writing and directing of the movie shows
the problems of society. Monty Python and the Holy Grail uses satirical techniques to expose gender
roles and greed at the expense of others. The Black knight exposes how often now and in history
gender roles affect society. While it can be displayed in multiple places in the movie, it is most evident
here. The scene shows King Arthur encounter a knight keen on fighting. But when king arthur begins
chopping off the knights limbs, he is not hurt at all it seems. He responds simply Tis but a flesh wound

This, and the dirty costumes everyone is wearing, is an exaggeration of the poverty of the lower

Gender Identity Disorder Research Paper
Gender identity disorder also referred to as gender variance, and in other cultures as two spirited, can
be described as the formal diagnosis that psychologists and physicians give to individuals who
experience reasonable gender dysphoria. Such individuals are not contented with the biological sex
that they possess and tend to strongly identify with the other sex. It is a psychiatric categorization and
describes characteristics that are linked to transgender identity, transvestism and transsexuality and is
the diagnostic categorization normally associated with transsexuals, or individuals who feel they were
born into the wrong physicality (Kenneth Bradley, 2002).

opposite sex and would rather be recognized in public as members of the opposite sex. Many
individuals who are affected by gender identity disorder request for sexual reassignment surgery, or
more commonly referred to as a sex change operation (Kenneth Bradley, 2002).
Prevalence
The disorder normally affects more males than females in society. According to WebMD, in Europe,
there are 1 in 30,000 males and 1 in 100,000 females who are diagnosed with gender identity disorder
(WebMD Prevalence, 2006). Sometimes G.I.D. is mistaken with accompanied by transvestic

fantasies, sexual urges, or behaviors which involve cross dressing (DSMIVp.258 59). The disorder can
be noted in early children but many people are diagnosed of the problem at adolescence (Maccoby

Julius Caesar Takeover Essay
Before the definite takeover of Britain, Julius Caesar had come over to attempt to make the land part
of the famous Roman Empire in AD 55. It wasn t very long until Caesar fled back to Gaul (France)
because the British Celts had been tough to beat. Only a year later he came back stronger and with an
even bigger army. Caesar had made his mark, but not wanting a long war, he returned to Rome and
never came back. Although he could not invade Britain, about a hundred years later in the year AD 43,
Emperor Claudius had invaded Britain on instruction to do so by Aulus Plautius, who was to be the
first consular governor in command of Great Britain. This second attempt to take over Britain would
last about four hundred years, to around the 5th century AD.
These invasions were about more than obtaining land for the Roman Empire, but there were also
minerals and agricultural fields to gain more income. Since money and wealth were a big motivation
for them, Roman militaries often were eager to defeat new lands in order to attain the wealth they
desired and pay for their armies. During the early years of this conquest, it was the initial and main
fight for the takeover of most of Britain. The fast growing Romanization of these lands was a result of
poor defensive coordination among military heads of Great Britain. ... Show more content on

  • 2. Should Animals Be Kept In Zoos Essay Zoos are the places where animals are kept. Some people argue that animals shall not be kept in zoos as they deserve freedom. Zoos cannot provide them with enough space, therefore, they cannot run around so as to grow up freely. On the other hand, some people argue that animals should be kept in zoos. Nowadays, forests and mountains have been cut down by people. If we leave animals alone, they might have nowhere to find food and nowhere to live. It is for the sake of the animals themselves that we keep them in the zoos. 2010 05 04 22:57:20| 分类: 默认分类|字号 订阅 Nowadays, there is an ongoing heated discussion among people on the topic whether wild animals should be kept in zoos, and there is no common consensus among people on it. Some ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The larger animals seemed to go quietly about their business but the animal that caught my attention was the adult elephant that seemed to be pacing up and down out of boredom. This is understandable because even though the park has given the elephants massive amounts of green space to themselves, in the wild they are used to hundreds and hundreds of miles that become their domain. The equivalent would be like placing a human under house arrest. The more dangerous animals like lions and tigers are also given their own large enclosures and people can view them from behind a glass screen. Their focus on that day was on keeping out of the sun by lying under shady trees and Izmir zoo is very much backing the stance that if you do not get to see an animal then you should return at a different time. They are not forcing the animals into any ridiculous side shows involving party tricks and silly costumes. Animals aside, the park does give a lot of information to visitors about the animal that they are seeing and two days within a week are dedicated to educational tours for children. This is to describe the traits, natural habitat and eating routines of an animal. It is quite plain to see that the park aims to keep its animals in the best conditions possible however this does not distract from the moral and ethically question of Should animals should be kept in ... • 3. Rwanda Genocide Similarities Similarities and differences between the genocide in Rwanda and Cambodia. INTODUCTION In my essay I have decided to use the focus on the genocide in Rwanda and Cambodia. The reason I chose Rwanda and Cambodia is because they both stand out for different reasons. Rwanda was the most effective genocide in modern history, following the three months after president Habyaramana s Death approximately 20 000 people were killed in Kigali. Cambodia is a very different kind of genocide because it is often described as a self genocide. The genocide involved the total extermination of several minorities in Cambodia: Ethnic Vietnamese, The Muslim Charms and Thais among others. An obvious similarity between the two genocides are the considerable loss of life. Both the genocides took place in less developed countries, as opposed to ex. Industrialized Germany during the Holocaust. The Rwandan genocide stemmed from etching rivalry which can indirectly be traced back to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Parmehutu led a social revolution which overthrew the Tutsi ruling class, which resulted in a massive death of the Tutsis and about 200 000 Tutsi were exiled (Waller, Becoming Evil: How Ordinary People Commit Genocide and Mass Killing, 2002). Some Tutsis remained in Rwanda because of intermarriage or other family ties, these would face discrimination and be seen as lesser citizens by the Hutu government (Rwandan Genocide, n.d.). In 1985 The Rwandan Patriotic Front was formed by a group of exiled Tutsi nationalists, and they demanded their right to return to Rwanda as well as an end to the discrimination of the Tutsi. A rebel group of the Rwandan Patriotic Front invaded Rwanda in October of 1990, an act which served to re ignite the Tutsi hatred and was the final act that made the way for the genocide. • 5. Analysis Of The Film Snowpiercer The plot in the film Snowpiercer, directed by Bong Joon Ho, follows lead actor Chris Evans, who stated in reference to the film, I absolutely think it should be seen on a big screen. But I read something where someone from RADiUS that said, A screen is a screen is a screen (Daniels). This quote is significant because it relates to the current expansion of entertainment delivery systems in the world. Nonetheless, Snowpiercer is a film that was directed for the cinema screen. When it was released in 2013, the film made approximately eighty seven billion dollars internationally, and it was considered one of the first films of the year in the competition for an Oscar (Pomerantz). Furthermore, this film was produced by SnowPiercer, Moho Film, Opus Pictures, Stillking Films, and CJ Entertainment ( Snowpiercer ). In terms of the story, the setting of Snowpiercer is 2031where the entire earth is frozen except for a train and its survivors. The train is divided into a class system where the poor are at the back of the train, and the wealthy are at the front. With this to say, the poor are treated appallingly, forced to live in cramped and dirty spaces, and are given scarce supplies of food. Thus, the story follows Curtis, led by actor Chris Evans, as he devises a revolt from the back of the train to fight through the enemies guarding the front (Snowpiercer). He also moonlights as a stuntman in Hollywood films and driver of getaway cars in heists. One day, he helps his neighbor Irene, whose husband is in prison, and her son Benicio and he falls in love with her. However, a few days later her husband Standard Gabriel is released from prison and they meet each other in the building. Standard is pressed by the criminal Cook to rob a pawn shop to pay for the protection he had in prison, and the driver decides to help him by driving the getaway car. However, the heist does not work as planned, and now the driver finds he has to protect Irene and Benicio from mobsters. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The only thing that changes is that Driver is willing to against his own set of rules to protect his life and the life of Standard s family. There are no competing philosophies. Greed is the primary influence behind the actions of Shannon and the mob bosses. In regard to Normative ethics the film explores the idea of not hurting anyone. In a sense it promoted victimless crimes. Driver never intended to kill anyone. Although he was a violent man by nature he refrained from doing so because he believed it to be the right thing to do. This is why it became part of his credo. The film explores when it is necessary to go against what one believes is wrong. Driver needs to kill in order to protect himself and Standard s family. It can be said that there is some utility being used when Driver goes on the hunt to kill the mob bosses who are going to attack Benicio and Irene. • 7. Unemployment And Its Effects On Society Problem Statement Unemployment is a very important problem that it is not only an economic issue, but it is related to the social and political issues. Increasing the level of unemployment will decrease the level of Keynes effective demand that is going to increase the investors uncertainty and less investments will take place. As a result, the economy as a whole will move from recession to depression and the unemployment is dramatically increasing. On the other hand, unemployment has a direct impact on society in a variety of negative ways. A lot of studies found that the level of crimes and drug users is high among unemployment citizens. The unemployed may consider crime as an alternative path to earn money. Finally, the high level of unemployment, in most cases, could lead to instability in the political system due to protest against the existing political system. In conclusion, unemployment is a complex issue that needs a lot of work to solve it. The full employment economic society is a precondition behind economic stabilization and prosperity. This dissertation takes the position that relying on the private sector to solve the problem of unemployment is historically not possible. Therefore, the government intervention towards solving the problem of unemployment is necessary. The government s responsibility is filling the gap of unemployment by investing in projects that are usually not handled by the private sector due to small margin of profit and high level of ... • 8. The National Law Center On Homelessness Poverty Essay The National Law Center on Homelessness Poverty currently estimates that each year at least 2.5 to 3.5 million Americans sleep in shelters, transitional housing, and public places not meant for human habitation. At least an additional 7.4 million have lost their own homes and are doubled up with others due to economic necessity. According to Point in Time Count, San Diego had 8,692 homeless people. Almost 3,800 of them were sleeping in emergency shelters or transitional housing. The Count showed more than 5000 people were unsheltered. Some slept in cars, sidewalks or abandoned building. Moreover, 61%of the homeless people in shelters were children and 40% were families and 1157 were homeless veterans. Two advocates put this dilemma of the issue of falling from the scene into perspective: Something remarkable has happened to the spectacle of the street dwelling poor in the two decades since it reappeared on the public stage: Homelessness became domesticated routine; an all but expected feature of the urban landscape. No longer cause for vocal concern, let alone outrage, it has been integrated into that cheerless diorama of un abashed wealth and relentless poverty that now passes for normalcy in American cities. (Hopper, 2003, p. 193) Decades and decades have passed without the resolve to end such an epidemic . . . Homelessness doesn t end. Year after year, shelters provide refuge, churches and temples provide meals, downtown missions offer care, social service agencies ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

We use writing in all types of communication such as: email, facsimile, letter writing, etc. Writing skills are important to the business professional because it prepares the workplace for well written business communications. The three topics I will cover can serve as an outline for improving writing skills in businesses. The topics are principles of business writing, how to write an effective business letter, and how to improve business writing within the company. These topics will aid in examining and improving our company s employees writing skills. First, there are four principles of writing: Empathy, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Following the Attention Line is the Body. The body contains detailed information about the topic. The body includes the introductory paragraph, one or more body paragraphs, and a concluding paragraph. Finally, there is the closing. The closing is usually ended with a complementary closing and signature. A list of examples include: Sincerely, Cordially, Best regards, and Yours very truly. Remember to capitalize the first word in the complimentary closing and end it with a comma. After the closing, there is a copy line. When the copy line is used, other people know who will be receiving a copy. The copy line usually includes a symbol: c: for copy, pc: for photocopy, and bc: blind copy (used only to limit readers of other copies). The names of the recipients should follow these symbols listed in organizational rank (Writing@CSU: Writing Guide, 2004, p. 1). All of the components discussed above are effective ways to write an effective business letter. An effective business letter speaks to a specific reader. Therefore, the right type of business letter must reach the reader. The most common types of business letters are: 1) Acknowledgement Letters, 2) Adjustment Letters, 3) Complaint Letters, 4) Inquiry Letters, 5) Order Letters, and Response Letters. (Writing@CSU: Writing Guide, 2004 p. 1). These type letters helps guide the reader to understanding what the writer intended. Nothing can be more ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The painting was painted in the 1600s by Adam Pijnacker. Behind the ship is the ocean and the sky. The sky covers most of the top of the painting making it a main focal point in the painting. The middle of the sky is a clear blue while both the left and the rights sides are covered with brownish grey clouds. The lower left side of the sky also has some orange colorage. This is because the sun is setting behind it, therefore, the time of day this painting is set in a sunset. In front of these clouds is a dark ship decorated with gold design. The other man is dressed in a salmon colored jacket. The painting is mostly made up of earth tone colors so this man stands out more than anyone else. He is also carrying a sword around his waist. His face is not shown, but by the position of his body it seems that he is looking out at either the ship or the horizon behind it. There are a couple people in front of him who seem to be fixing packages and tending to a large horse at the right of the painting. Their clothing is more earth tone which allows them to blend in more with the ground and the buildings. Tinker Vs Des Moines Case Study Schools have very different policy s when it comes to what the 1st amendment says. 2 cases are proof of this, Tinker vs Des Moines is a case where a simple armband protesting the Vietnam war which shouldn t be an issue gets into the supreme court. He goes on to say, that Jews at the time were extremely disgusted by the idea of eating his human flesh, because they did not consume any flesh. However, instead of Jesus stepping back and conforming his thoughts into a better analogy, he did exactly the opposite. He carried on with the idea of eating his flesh by stating: Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you shall not have life within you. Jesus intentionally expanded this notion in order to let the Jews at the time step out of their notions and have faith in Him. That makes the children think that violence is just like riding a bike, simple as that (NTVS, 1 2). Parents try not to let their children watch shows that they would watch due to the fact that there is a lot of violence that occurs. When parents sit down and watch the cartoons that their children are watching, they can notice that the violence is incredibly higher. There were several precursors to HIE that were in use throughout the United States, these include Community Health Management Information Systems, Community Health Information Networks, and Regional Health Information Organizations. In order to do that , one needs to know how to build morphemes into words and words into sentences (linguistic or grammatical competence). Yet, this knowledge is not the end of learning a language. While grammatical competence may be the essence of learning a new language; on its own, it is not enough. A learner also needs to know how to use that knowledge appropriately in a social context. One needs to know about speech act,(e.g., requesting, suggesting, arguing, etc.) and politeness (sociolinguistic or pragmatic competence). In addition to these competencies, other components are also required. A learner needs to know how to produce a largely cohesive and coherent text, either in writing or in speaking (discourse competence). As a learner might not understand the total underlying system of a language, s/he needs to know how to repair the breakdown of a conversation (strategic competence). In this chapter, I will define the term communicative competence, explain the difference between competence and performance, and shed light on four theories of communicative competence, i.e., Chomsky s theory, Hymes s theory , Widdowson s theory, and Halliday s theory. In the second section, five frameworks of communicative competence will be focused on, i.e., Canale and Swain s model, Bachman and Palmer s model, Celce Murcia s framework, the common European framework ...
