Single Wired Female Essay
Single Wired Female by Greg Dragon is a book in the science fiction/thriller genre. It is the second
book by the author, set in the same universe as the previous one, Re wired, and revolves around a
character from the previous novel.
Bonnie O Neal is talented, successful and rich. Problem is she cannot remember any of it. After four
months of comatose condition, Bonnie wakes up to learn that an attempt on her life by her ex husband
landed her in the hospital, and caused her memory lapse. Bonnie is recovering from her memory loss,
with only one slight glitch: the memories belong to someone else. Whose past has invaded her brain?
What is reason behind her sudden awareness and understanding of androids? Is Bonnie s attempted
murder a simple case of revenge or is it part of a more sinister conspiracy that has repercussions for
the whole world? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For someone recently introduced to Android science fiction, I found the book very thought provoking.
Yes, there is some scientific bit to keep the reader interested, though I have mixed feelings about the
same; since on one hand people looking for pure science fiction might be disappointed while the
newly initiated would find the facts quite easy to grasp. However, what really impressed me was the
slightly philosophical and emotional quota in the book.
The author intelligently introduces plot twists to explore the question of how would an android
construct its identity. Since, the android is essentially built of metal and wires, is it right to assume that
it is non living, even though it is made to resemble human life as closely as possible. The story goes a
step further, and compares an android s existence to that of a slave, who is also at times subject to
molestation, because an android can t complain, can

As You Like It a Romantic Comedy
The major conventions of Shakespearean Romantic Comedy are:
The main action is about love.
The would be lovers must overcome obstacles and misunderstandings before being united in
harmonious union. The ending frequently involves a parade of couples to the altar and a festive mood
or actual celebration (expressed in dance, song, feast, etc.) A Midsummer Night s Dream has four such
couples (not counting Pyramus and Thisbe!); As You Like It has four; Twelfth Night has three; etc.
Frequently (but not always), it contains elements of the improbable, the fantastic, the supernatural, or
the miraculous, e.g. unbelievable coincidences, improbable scenes of recognition/lack of recognition,
willful disregard of the social order (nobles marrying ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Shakespeare s early romantic comedy most indebted to John Lyly is Love s Labour s Lost (c. 1588
97), a confection set in the never never land of Navarre where the King and his companions are visited
by the Princess of France and her ladies in waiting on a diplomatic mission that soon devolves into a
game of courtship. As is often the case in Shakespearean romantic comedy, the young women are sure
of who they are and whom they intend to marry; one cannot be certain that they ever really fall in
love, since they begin by knowing what they want. The young men, conversely, fall all over
themselves in their comically futile attempts to eschew romantic love in favour of more serious
pursuits. They perjure themselves, are shamed and put down, and are finally forgiven their follies by
the women. Shakespeare brilliantly portrays male discomfiture and female self assurance as he
explores the treacherous but desirable world of sexual attraction, while the verbal gymnastics of the
play emphasize the wonder and the delicious foolishness of falling in love.
In The Taming of the Shrew (c. 1590 94), Shakespeare employs a device of multiple plotting that is to
become a standard feature of his romantic comedies. In one plot, derived from Ludovico Ariosto s I
suppositi (Supposes, as it had been translated into English by George

Review Of Tabula Rasa
Tabula rasa this is how the educationalist John Locke, (1632) believed children were born, with a
blank slate beginning their lives morally neutral. He also wrote that the little and almost insensible
impressions on our tender infancies have very important and lasting consequences. He argued that the
associations of ideas that one makes when young are more important than those made later because
they are the foundation of the self. Locke, (1632) also argued that because a baby s mind was so
malleable a parent could mould them with careful diligence. However Kohlberg (2004) was one of the
first theorists to address gender as a learned, cognitive concept. His thinking was influenced by Piaget,
who portrayed children as active learners who use interactions with their environment to construct an
understanding of the world around them (Piaget, 1961). Kohlberg believed that children s cognitive
understanding of gender influenced their behaviour (Kohlberg, 1981).
Walking into any new born infant s room you could almost certainly guess the gender of the baby just
from the colour of his or her clothes, blankets, and toys. Any infant surrounded by pink items is
virtually certain to be a girl, whereas a child immersed in blue is very likely to be a boy. This colour
differentiation is not limited to newborns. Advertisements in catalogues and newspapers feature little
girls dressed in pink clothes, playing with pink toys, carrying pink lunchboxes, typing on pink
computers, and so

The Mining of Metals Industry
Metals have been an important industry for mankind since the Bronze Age, gold and silver are other
important metals that were used for currency and ornamental jewelry. The Industrial Revolution
helped to usher in modern civilization by transforming iron into railway transportation and high rise
buildings in all of the major cities around the world. Concerns for the environment did not exist as
long as the metals could be extracted to fulfill the needs of the masses. Environmental concerns about
mining didn t even come about in the United States until the Resources Conservation and Recovery
Act (RCRA) in 1976 (EPA 1976). RCRA was the first Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
regulation that required a study of mining wastes from active surface and underground mining
activities. In 1985 the EPA published the Land Disposal Restrictions Phase IV which establishes the
metal bearing waste treatment standards (EPA 1985). This includes Toxicity Characteristic waste that
is generated from mining processes with high concentration levels. The EPA also printed the
Abandoned Mine Site Characterization and Cleanup Handbook in 2000 to cover all mining processes
and remediation programs (Ceto and Mahmud 2000). The following pages of this paper will
concentrate on the mining practices, present contamination and remediation factors needed to clean up
many sites that are either active or abandoned. The mining of metals can be separated into three

Two years later, in 1989, the consumption of L. monocytogenes contaminated shrimp was found to be
responsible for 10 confirmed cases of listeriosis with 100% mortality in Connecticut, USA (Riedo et
al., 1994). In 1993, Goulet et al. (1998) described 38 human cases of listeriosis associated with
consumption of rillettes (pork product) contaminated with the organism in France in 1993. Two years
later, Büla et al. (1995) described 57 human cases of listeriosis with 32% deaths due to consumption
of contaminated soft cheese in western Switzerland in 1995. In 1997, Dalton et al. (1997) reported an
outbreak of 45 human cases showed gastroenteritis and fever in Illinois, USA and they related it to
consumption of chocolate milk contaminated with the bacterium. In the same year, in Sweden,

1.5. The burden and management of listeriosis It was indicated that the presence of the bacteria in the
human or animal feces is not a proof indication of illness since between 2% and 6% of healthy
humans and animals harbor L. monocytogenes in their gastrointestinal tract and act as transient
carriers for the organism without showing clinical signs (Gellin and Broome, 1989; Husu, 1990;

listeriosis which considered one of the emerging food borne zoonoses (Dhama et al., 2013a) primarily
contracted by ingestion of contaminated food products such as raw meat, dairy products, vegetables,
and seafood (Allerberger and Wagner, 2010) and triggering primarily pregnant women, neonates,

Analysis Of Many Thousands Gone
In Ira Berlin s book, Many Thousands Gone, the main focus is on the transformations that slavery
went through from 1619 to 1800. Also, Ira Berlin investigates the ways that slaves and their owners
discussed freedom. Meaning that the slaves actions, no matter how powerful the slave owner was, the
actions were not in his power. This makes the history of slavery a time of African American failures
and successes in strategies. Ira Berlin focuses on the first two centuries of slavery in America in four
major regions. Those four major regions being The North, The Chesapeake, The South Carolina
Georgia Florida Lowcountry, and the Mississippi Valley. This all happens in the three periods that Ira
Berlin chooses to focus on; the charter ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But putting together a synthesis of a burgeoning field while offering up a new interpretive perspective
is a tall order. In his most recent book, Ira Berlin has delivered the synoptic, yet forward moving,
study of colonial slavery that scholars have needed for the past thirty years (Hadden). One important
part from Ira Berlin s thesis is how he changes geographical locations and time periods to show the
different stages. All throughout the book, each chapter, has a different location and as the reader reads
through the book the years move forward. That is how the reader can read about the four different
regions of America; The North, The Chesapeake, The South Carolina Georgia Florida Lowcountry,
and the Mississippi Valley. Also the three main time periods; the charter generations of the seventeenth
century, the eighteenth century, and the revolutionary period. All the while Ira Berlin starts at 1619
and ends in the 1800s. Slave conditions in the lowcountry were similar to those in the Chesapeake and
North except that here they were taken to extremes (chapter 3). This quote proves that Ira Berlin
moved regions in the book, but still focused on slavery in each. Also, the focus was specific to slavery
in each region. While Ira Berlin compared and contrasted each region and time period of slavery
together in the chapters also.

Manifest Destiny Analysis
The phrase Manifest Destiny is a phrase that describes an attitude or belief in the mid 1800 s the early
Americans were destined by God to grow the nation from coast to coast. This expansion would not
only consist of territory, but liberty and economic opportunity as well. This social movement became a
generally accepted justification for conquering western lands from Mexico and Native Americans.
Early Americans can be described as having many different attitudes that fed the narrative of Manifest
Destiny, two of which seemed to be highlighted in the writings of Richard Henry Dana within his
book Two Years Before the Mast. I believe that the early attitudes of superiority and greed would
become a driving force in the belief in Manifest Destiny. In the early 1800 s Americans of European
decent had a sense of superiority over the other peoples who lived in North America for hundreds of
years before their arrival. The reader gets a glimpse of this attitude as Dana describes the trade
business with the people up and down the territory of California. Dana states that the Californians are
an idle, thriftless people and can make nothing for themselves (81). This description of the people in
California sheds light on the belief that they were a people lacking in drive and sophistication. Once a
reader in the 1800 s would read this statement it would re enforce the belief that westerners were
unworthy of the lands they occupy. Dana goes on to describe the country abounding in

Persuasive Essay On Winning
Competition is defined by the Merriam Webster s Collegiate Dictionary as a contest between rivals.
Many views winning as the optimum outcome for their favorite athlete or sport s team. Henry Russell
Sanders said, Sure, winning isn t everything; it s the only thing. A similar but different phrase was
echoed by Vince Lombardi. He said, Winning isn t important, but the desire to win is. The desire to
win is what pushes all to be the best they can be. A healthy society should not be obsessed with
winning. Winning, after all, isn t what makes someone the best at something. Sure, Suzy could win the
tennis match, but if she has no drive to repeat the action of winning again, what s the point? One
example of why the desire to win is best is found in the life of Albert Einstein. This man didn t really
excel in school, but he kept working and trying his hardest. In fact, he eventually went to solve many
of the great mysteries of physics. However, he didn t make his discoveries until later in life. This
shows that if one keeps working hard things will eventually work themselves out, even if it takes.
Another example of this principle can found in the life of Phiona. She learned to play chess as a little
girl in the slums of Uganda, and she eventually went on to become a chess champion. She, however,
wasn t always the best at chess. She lost the very first game she ever played, and this loss sparked her
desire to improve the game and to eventually win many matches. She proves

Economic Factors
For organizations, there are many concerns with triggers for change in the economic environment.
These are not only competitors but also other issues like exchange rates, tax, wage rates, economic
policies and etc. (Cook,2004) Organizations need to look at the level of inflation, employment level
per capita, interest rates and long term prospects for Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita, and so
on. There are two types of forces in the market which can affect the competitive position of an
organization other organizations supplying the same products and, buyers who are not buying the

Socio cultural factors
These are related to people s behaviour, tastes, and lifestyles. Social changes are signs of in terms of
people s aspirations, the needs, and their ways of working. Social changes have taken place according

Australopithecus Research Paper
Discovery
Australopithecus afarensis was discovered in Ethiopia on November 24, 1974 by paleoanthropologists
Donald Johanson, Maurice Taieb, Yves Coppens, and Tom Gray in the Afar Depression in Ethiopia,
Africa. The first fossil was found by Johanson in 71 when he discovered a shinbone and femur. They
returned in 1974 and the team found several hundred fragments of bones all belonging to a single
individual. The individual was deemed to be a female based on the width of the pelvic opening. The
fossil samples were argon argon dated by Robert Walter in 1992 and it was determined that she was
approximately 3.22 3.18 million years old. The species itself lived between 3.85 and 2.95 million
years ago. This specimen was named Lucy after the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Characteristics
Male Australopithecines are on average 4 11 and weigh about 94 pounds while females average 3 5
and weigh close to 64 pounds. The most notable characteristic of Lucy was found in her knee, which
indicated that the species walked upright or was bipedal. Lucy s limb proportions also provide insight
to her bipedality. Human s hind limbs (legs) are longer than their fore limbs (arms). The ratio between
arms and legs is called an intermembral index. The average intermembral index for humans is between
68 70 , while chimpanzees fall around 106 . Lucy s intermembral index is 88 , which falls between
both. This suggests that A. afarensis probably walked on the ground with hind limbs and climbed in
trees with fore limbs. Lucy s pelvic blades are human like in that they are short and curved forward,
making the case for bipedality while on the ground. The location of Lucy s shoulder, however,
provides insight that she spent time climbing in trees. Furthermore, Lucy s sacrum is wide and short at
the top and goes in laterally like in humans. A wider and shorter sacrum is better for distributing
weight through the pelvis. This follows with bipedal theories because this shaped sacrum is better

Introduction Of A Six Sigma Project Has Been Performed On...
Introduction
A six sigma project has been performed on Music Co. as the company was experiencing a high
number of tickets relating to its digital release planning system that caused delays in expected release
date. The delays affected customer satisfaction because if the music vendor did not release their
recording on time, it would lead the customer to opt for a pirated version, which also causes company
loss in sales. The company hopes the project team can use DMAIC to analyze and improve their
release process in a timely fashion with fewer errors. They also hope to find out what reasons caused
the delays and eliminate the root causes. The planning involves various human based processes, so the
company wants to achieve as few errors as possible.
Summary
Before they start to utilize DMAIC into this project, they have created a project qualification checklist
to weigh and focus on segments that they should concentrate and improve on. However, they finalized
this project as a must do and will be able to grow the process but cannot reengineer the whole
procedure.
As stated above, the company used DMAIC to define the problem and solve it. In this project, the
author has also included lessons learned at the end of the project. So the report has been well classified
into 5 parts accordingly Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control.
Step 1: Define phase
In this phase, the project team created a SIPOC diagram to analyze the complete overview of the
operation process.

Creative Writing In Avatar
Every writer has a beginning. This is the story of how I started out writing.
It all started when I was 16 when I went to the cinema to view James Cameron s comeback film
Avatar. It was late 2009 when the film had just come out in the middle of December. It was Cameron s
comeback after a 12 year hiatus after the roaring success of Titanic in 1997 which won him numerous
Oscars. Needless to say, I loved it. The film was beautiful. I had never experienced a film where I
would feel for the characters.
Yeah, that is a long time for a filmmaker to be on hiatus. Though, he was able to pull it off. Similar to
when he took a long hiatus between The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgement Day.
Good things come to those who wait. Unknown
Avatar inspired me to begin writing fan fiction and the writing bug just took hold. The bug continued
all throughout my two senior years of high school (that s years 11 and 12 in Australia). I still write
fanfiction from time to time. However, I haven t published anything in ages.
After high school, I went to film school and couldn t quite find where my niche laid. I wasn t an expert
with cameras and I was awful at anything else. When the second trimester rolled around, relief flooded
me when I discovered that one of the classes was screenwriting. It was writing. Something that I was
familiar with, even if I had never written in that particular format before.
Okay, I might not have chosen the best story to adapt and it was my first time ever

The Valley of Ashes as Metaphor in The Great Gatsby Essay
The Valley of Ashes as Metaphor in The Great Gatsby
Throughout F. Scott Fitzgerald s The Great Gatsby, location is a critical motif. The contrasts between
East and West, East Egg and West Egg, and the two Eggs and New York serve important thematic
roles and provide the backdrops for the main conflict. Yet, there needs to be a middle ground between
each of these sites, a buffer zone, as it were; there is the great distance that separates East from West;
there is the bay that separates East Egg from West Egg; and, there is the Valley of Ashes that separates
Long Island from New York. The last of these is probably the most striking. Yet, the traditional literal
interpretation does not serve Fitzgerald s theme as well as a more ... Show more content on

If it is remembered that ashes circa the turn of the century often referred to garbage, then it is possible
to interpret the valley of ashes as a dumping ground. (23) The ash heaps, then, are piles of garbage,
and the repeated references to waste land, as opposed to wasteland, now make more sense, as does
George Wilson s use of a piece of waste to wipe his hands. (24 5) For Fitzgerald, the American dream
is to get rich and become socially acceptable; Wilson, who has failed, has wasted his life, and is now
down in the dumps. He has been cast away by society, just like the rest of the refuse that surrounds
him. This, then, seems to be the fate of middle class dreams despite being conceived in a land filled
with opportunity, they all end up in the landfill.
Yet, there are still inconsistencies with this interpretation, which also apply to the stricter literal view;
where does the gray, scrawny Italian child down the road by the railroad tracks come from? (26)
Where do the workmen come from? (137) If the valley is so isolated and desolate how could Nick
even imagine there would be an old man regaling little boys with the story of Myrtle s death? (156)
How does such a crowd accumulate next to a dumping ground? (156 7) Why would Dr. T. J.
Eckleburg advertise there, train delays notwithstanding? (23) These concerns cannot be fully
explained away by the

Role Of The Meatpacking Industry In Upton Sinclair s The...
The Jungle Book was a book written by Upton Sinclair in 1905 which discussed the meatpacking
industry. It exposed the industry as a dirty industry that was not very well regulated at all and that the
meat that they produced was often contaminated and could make individuals who ate it very ill. This
caused major outrage throughout America and in 1906 a meat inspection bill was passed by Congress
so that the meat industry could be regulated so individuals would not have to eat dirty meat like they
did before. This showed the power of the Progressive Era as a major flaw in regulations was shown in
1905 and just a year later there was major legislation passed which was there to regulate the industry

he wants to treat him. Does he think Arthur is the father? Is he seeking revenge on him for that reason?
Roger Chillingworth s hidden motives are seen when the narrator says This diabolical agent (Roger

Trotsky s Role in the Soviet Union
General Statement. Trotsky s role in the Soviet Union was of fundamental importance in Russia
during the period 1918 to 1928 as he can be attributed with the Bolshevik acquisition and
consolidation of power. However, to achieve a more balanced interpretation it is imperative all
contributing factors to his role are acknowledged. Trotsky s role has not been greatly exaggerated as
his strategic leadership skills enabled him to play a fundamental role in the organisation and
implementation of the November 1917 Bolshevik seizure of power and the Civil War in 1918 21;
however, the importance of Lenin s role must also be taken into account to achieve a more balanced
portrayal as many of Trotsky s successes were based on Lenin s initiatives. Additionally, while Trotsky
s crucial ideological role was of significant importance to the Bolshevik party as he proposed policies
that rigidly adhered to their socialist ideals, his interpersonal skills led to his inability to implement
these ideological objectives.
Trotsky s overall role in the Soviet Union is indisputable as his strategic leadership skills enabled him
to play a fundamental role in the organisation and implementation of the November 1917 Bolshevik
seizure of power and the Civil War of 1918 21. However, the importance of Lenin s role must also be
taken into account to achieve a more balanced portrayal, as many of Trotsky s successes were based
on Lenin s initiatives. Although Lenin held authority over the Bolshevik s, it

Corporate Strategy Of Walt Disney
Walt Disney
Walt Disney s massive company, which embodies theme parks, resorts, movies, and television, slowly
sprouted from less than birth of Mickey Mouse. The Walt Disney began its franchise reign of the
entertainment industry in 1928 with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse made its debut in select short
films, the most notable being Steamboat Willie (Gamble 2014). Since then, even decades after Walt
Disney s actual death in 1966, Mickey Mouse has been the central icon around the world for this
organization dedicated to bringing fantasy into the realm of reality. The Disney Company has been
able to successfully incorporate the famous mousey emblem into to the ever changing culture as a
universal sign of quality entertainment for children and adults alike. Additionally, multiple product
lines that have spun off of Mickey s reputation combined with a transnational strategy have facilitated
the organization to swell from a small animation studio to one of the most widely recognized and
highly acclaimed trademarks worldwide.
The differentiation of Disney s product lines has been a key component to the company s surmounting
accomplishments. Hotels, resorts, cruise lines, theme parks, and the beloved live action and animation
films with their respective characters are the fundamental attractions for the organization. Other lines

The Battle Of Gettysburg
The Battle of Gettysburg is one of the most well known and important battles of the Civil War. With
being held as the bloodiest battle of the civil war. The Battle of Gettysburg took place outside of
Gettysburg, Virginia; this battle was part of Robert E. Lees Gettysburg Campaign, which was his
second advance an invasion of the Northern Territory. Here are a little numbers; 165,620 total soldiers,
there were 93,921 Union soldiers, and 71,699 Confederate Soldiers. As you can see already the
Confederate soldiers were at a disadvantage right off the back with almost 20,000 less troops. It s
called the deadliest battle because over 50,000 casualties combined. Having corralled his army around

Descriptive Essay About My Life
I can see my short curls and round nose looking back at me in the reflection of the window while I
listen to Spanish pop. Looking out, I see hundreds of people walking past each other, from teens
dressed in jeans to adults in suits and blazers. There are nail salons, designer shoe stores, offices, all in
the midst of these massive buildings. I m on a DART train passing Downtown Dallas, on my way
home from school. A few years ago, I didn t even know about the different rails, but now I know my
way around the entire city without using Google Maps, something I m a little proud of. I ve used it to
go to work at Bed Bath Beyond, my chess tournaments, school, the mall, vegetarian restaurants, and
anything in between. The reason might be because I can t afford a car, my dad works all the time, and
my sister took my mom s car to her tiny town of San Angelo for college, but it doesn t even matter
because riding the train and running errands by myself has made me independent, plus it s eco
friendly.
At home, my mom waits for me with one of my favorite meals ready pozole. Of course I have to pick
the meat out of it, but my mom just laughs and updates me of my sister s life on living on a cow farm.
Just kidding. I still don t know why Angelo State appealed to her so much when we have grown up in
the city but, it could not be me. Although our lives are different now, I cherish my childhood as well as
the new things I experience now.
I grew up in a small close knit apartment with my

Exploring the Boundaries between Alternative Medicine and...
Alternative medicine has been considered the hidden mainstream of patient care in America. As
biomedicine increased in popularity, alternative methods of healing arose as a response to the
treatments used by physicians. Historically, alternative (or complementary ) medicine conveyed itself
by highlighting its natural attributes. These characteristics attracted those who were wary of the
chemicals used in allopathic medicines. Much of the skepticism that has accompanied complementary
alternative medicine (CAM) stems from the lack of scientifically based evidence that shows its
efficacy; there is no alternative medicine there is simply unproven medicine (Fontanarosa and
Lundberg 1618). This argument suggests that medicine and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The founder of homeopathy, Samuel Hahnemann, was originally an MD who regularly practiced
biomedicine in the late 1700s (Whorton 49). Homeopathic ideology involves treating a disease with
cures that produce similar effects as the disease ( same suffering ) as opposed to treating a disease with
substances that are meant to produce opposite effects ( allopathy ) (Whorton 52). As Hahnemann
progressed in his practice as a physician, he began to lose trust in the worth of the treatments he
provided treatments he had been taught would be effective for their target disease. He claimed that
medicine was founded upon perhapses and blind chance and were not tailored to cure the diseases of
individual patients; medicine saw disease as something finite and similarly experienced across patients
with similar illnesses (Whorton 56). Hahnemann believed that conventional medicine is objective and
independent of a patient s perspective of his or her own disease; it is an impersonal approach to
personal problems. For example, a headache could mean something different to separate individuals
because each of them may experience it differently. Consequently, he made his homeopathic remedies
specific to his patients (Whorton 57).
Since the dilutions of homeopathic remedies reached nearly infinitesimal quantities of an actual drug,
many homeopaths believed that some sort of spirit was an

The Cause Of Andrew Jackson s War
On July 1814, Major General Andrew Jackson was sent to New Orleans to stop the British after
learning of an attack that was being planned. He was chosen to lead this because of a successful
victory against the Indian allies of the British in the previous year. He had the confidence of the
government and of the people because they felt he was the best man for the emergency. After arriving
at his headquarters in Mobile, Alabama in September 1814, General Jackson kept an eye on the British
forces and was building his forces to resist an attack. Spain had an agreement with America to observe
strict neutrality. Jackson was informed that the governor of Spanish held territory in Florida was
giving refuge and support to the British. Spain was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I wanted to learn more about the fight against the British and what it entailed. I found the story very
interesting and learning more about General Jackson and that period. I felt his leadership style was
important to the future of leaders of the army. General Jackson was a disciplinarian, yet still revered
by his troops. He showed you that you should stand by your word and you should also stand with your
troops. If your troops feel that you backed them, they are more encouraged to fight and do the right
thing. In other words, General Jackson lead from the front and, in doing so, gained respect and
admiration. The book, The Battle of New Orleans, was interesting, but not great entertainment. The
book was contained a lot of dates, troop numbers and places. If you wanted to know about military
history, and don t mind a lot of statistical information, you should read it. Army leaders who want to
enhance their leadership style by reading history should be able to gain some insights from this

The Impact On Society s Influence On Moral Growth
Morals are a person s belief system of what is fundamentally right and wrong. This system is shaped
and molded throughout life, and is constantly evolving and fluctuating. Many factors influence one s
morals. Different events in life, different environments, and the people which surround individuals.
Two of the most influence groups of people which influence people s morals are family and friends.
One would think family has the greatest impact on morals. Family, more specifically parents or
guardians, lay the base work of morality. Family ascribe onto their children the basis of a moral code.
But it is friends which have the greatest impact on a person s believe system and moral principles.
This is because people are born into their families, meaning people cannot help what principles are
assigned to them (Friedman 196). Friends are voluntary and chosen, meaning friends have a greater
impact on moral growth compared to family or other close relationships. Friendship, in a way, is
essential and critical for moral growth. Marilyn Friedman is one philosopher who connects friendship
and its importance to moral growth. First off, Friedman gives some characteristics a friendship must
have in order to allow moral expansion. As mentioned previously, a friendship must be voluntary with
only some limits imposed by certain external constraints (Friedman 209). The act of choosing friends
is significant, because one chooses who to associate with and partake in intimate discussions

Writing A Bunch Of Illegitimate Papers
I, one of millions of first year college students, believe that I write bland essays due to the fact that my
high school English teachers failed to teach me how to think clearly and creatively. For instance, with
my twelfth English teacher, Mrs. Tuttle, there are many cases to which I felt she could ve improved
her teachings not only for me to understand how to write a well developed paper but as well as others
students. First case scenario being how she gave class activities and her teaching style. She had a way
of giving activities based on the feeling of how she felt would be a good way for us to learn the
material versus what we felt would be the best way to learn the material. These ways included little to
no group work. Writing a bunch of illegitimate papers that would be graded by my peers who had little
to no idea of what right or wrongs they were looking for. Thus for leaving me with an ambiguous
reason to what my writings were lacking or why I never made anything higher than a C in her class.
Another way would be the fact that she lived off the teaching theory of if one can do it then all can do
it . This hands down was the number reason why I could never write a well thought out, clear and
creative paper. With this method she felt that if Amanda Ho, class valedictorian, could write an
outstanding paper, then the entire Class of 2015 could write one just as well. Never coming to an
understanding that everyone wasn t Amanda Ho, everyone didn t have the brains

Corruption of Wealth and Society through Geography in The...
Throughout The Great Gatsby, various locations are introduced that correlate to specific types of
inhabitants. The geography of the novel is primarily comprised of four scenes: East Egg, West Egg,
the valley of the ashes, and New York City. Although all of the localities are situated in the East, Nick
muses at the end of the novel that the story is, in actuality, of the West (Fitzgerald 176). This discovery
insinuates that the materialisms of the East besmirched the characters of the West, symbolizing the
deteriorating effects the quest for riches has on traditional values. Employing the four major settings,
Fitzgerald is able to translate the moral and social corruption of society which dramatically contrasts
with the conventional ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both Tom and Daisy were careless people, since they smashed up things and creatures and retreated
back to their money or their vast carelessness after the damage was done (179). Daisy is chiefly
concerned with wealth and status, and becomes infatuated with the ostentatious mansion Gatsby
flaunts. This obsession with affluence is portrayed when she began to cry stormily at the mere sight of
Gatsby s lavish collection of expensive shirts (92). Even after her lengthy affair with Gatsby, Daisy
neglects to attend his funeral, symbolizing her callous nature and the fact that she used Gatsby for his
prestige.
Unlike East Egg, West Egg is primarily comprised of new money as exhibited by Jay Gatsby. In
contrast to its counterparts, West Egg is gaudy and extravagant, symbolized through the grandiose
manor Gatsby occupies. Gatsby s mansion is described as a colossal affair by any standard which he
utilizes to throw flamboyant parties in hopes that his longtime love Daisy will attend (5). In this sense,
he exploits his wealth to gain Daisy s affection, judging the relationship by the measure of response
the house evoked from Daisy s well loved eyes (91). Gatsby relies on artificial and materialistic means
as a foundation for his love. West Egg is also represented as having an inability to conform to societal
norms as well as translate social cues. For example,

The Never-Ending Cycle In George Orwell s Animal Farm
The Never Ending Cycle
Sara Moehring
Like animals to the slaughter. This phrase has been used since biblical times, describing an
unconcerned manner unaware of an impending catastrophe. Perhaps there is some relation to George
Orwell s Animal Farm? Was this intentional? In this dark fairy tale, George Orwell describes a mid
20th century farm in England that has been taken over by its overworked, mistreated animals. The
humans are replaced by pigs, who eventually end the cycle worse than it began. The animals chased
out a tyrant, just so they could be repressed by a power just as terrible. The worst thing was, that they
couldn t fight back. They lacked the education and knowledge required to defend their basic rights.

The people blindly followed the new order, communism, because they thought it would lead to a
world where everyone was equal. This happens in Animal Farm, When Old Major s vision, later called
Animalism, was put into practice, the pigs in charge took over and became selfish and violent,
twisting the philosophy until it barely contained an echo of the original intent. The same thing
happened with communism, as Stalin left much of the country penniless and helpless, and put people
to death if they showed the slightest resistance to his regime. The pigs come into power after revealing
they have been teaching themselves to read and write from an old spelling book which had belonged
to Mr. Jones children, and which had been thrown upon the rubbish heap. This created a divide in
intelligence between the other animals and pigs, which the animals believed they could not cross.
Several of them would have protested if they could find the right arguments. The other animals just
naturally assumed that pigs were smarter, and didn t try to change the fact because they had always
been dominated over. With their (the pigs) superior knowledge, it was natural that they should assume

In the beginning of the novel, Huck Finn has started to accept civilization and he also showed traits of
immaturity, uncivilized, and rough. Pap always said it warn t no harm to borrow things if you was
meaning to pay them back some time; but the widow said it warn t anything but a soft name for
stealing, and no decent body would do it. Jim said he reckoned the widow was partly right and pap
was partly right; so the best way would be for us to pick out two or three things from the list and say
we wouldn t borrow them any more then he reckoned it wouldn t be no harm to borrow the others
(Twain 72). This Insist that Huck Finn has found a middle ground of Pap s moral and the more
sensible moral. Huck finn came up with an idea to surrender an item for the sake of borrowing another
item. Dah you goes, de ole true Huck; de on y white genlman dat ever kep his promise to ole Jim
(Twain 67). This infers that Jim made Huck felt guilty about having the thought of turning him in.
Huck had promised to Jim that he would confess that he is with Huck, and Huck had kept his promise,
thus making Huck s morality grown tremendously. In Huckleberry Finn, Twain states there is no need
to search for a moral, but I believe there is a moral to this novel. Huck Finn has started with being not
accepting of civilization and was highly immature, but as the book continues Huck grew his morality.
Huck Finn came across complications throughout their adventure but Huck s lying got them out of it.

development. Some may say that this novel has bad morals but if one seeks to find one, there will my

Nursing And Nursing Careers
Nursing Nursing has been an occupation that I have had my mind set on since I was in the second
grade. I have always loved the idea of helping people fight their medical battles and being there for
them, like someone once was for me. When I was born, I had to have a portion of my left lung taken
out. I was not expected to live while my mom was pregnant with me and my sister. After I was born, I
was rushed to surgery to remove part of my left lung. Because of the doctors and nurses that had been
there for me while I was fighting my battles, I had survived and lead a healthy, normal life now. I want
to do the same thing for someone else. I love the idea of being the so called superhero of someone else
s life. There are many shapes and sizes of the jobs that registered nurses may do. They provide health
care for patients, inform patients of their health conditions, and provide advice and emotional support
to patients and their family members (summary). Registered nurses also help doctors during exams
and surgeries and dress wounds and incisions (RN Careers). Registered nurses cater to their patient s
physical and emotional needs. They comfort a patient and help them emotionally just as much as they
help them physically. Nurses often spend a lot of time with patients, resulting in lasting relationships
(20 reasons). Very seldomly do you find a career where relationships are built with your clients or
patients. Nurses are very fortunate to get to experience these

Emily Dickinson s The Brain Is Wide Then The Sky
The poem The Brain is Wider Then The Sky by Emily Dickinson, written in 1862. Emily Dickinson
was a woman who never married. She lived with her parents in Amherst Massachusetts. Emily
believed in feminist. She came from a very church going family but as she got older she stopped going
to church. She was a very smart woman. She attended college at Amherst Academy. Her father was
the founder of Amherst Academy, which today is called Amherst College. Amherst college is still a
well know college in Massachusetts. Emily Dickinson started a book club involving multiple friends,
as well as her loving attentiveness to individuals in times of both suffering and joy. These inquiries
highlight her thoughts on love, marriage, gender roles, art, and death, while unraveling mysteries
ranging from legal discourse to Etruscan smiles. In addition to a foreword by Marietta Messmer, the
volume includes essays by Paul Crumbley, Karen Dandurand, Jane Donahue Eberwein, Judith Farr,
James Guthrie, Ellen Louise Hart, Eleanor Heginbotham, Cindy MacKenzie, Martha Nell Smith, and
Stephanie Tingley. One of Emilys favorite books was the bible. She referred back to the bible in a lot
of her work. The poem The Brain is Wider Then The Sky can be interpreted in many different ways. If
you have knowledge of Emily Dickinson back round you may interpret it differently then others who
do not know much about her life and upbringing. This poem is a four line stanza, most of her work
was. She would write in many different styles .She wanted to be different and unique. Emily wanted
her work to standout. She never wrote your typical poems. There was not structure in her writing.
While reading the poem you cannot get a lot from it about Dickinson but you can understand her
philosophy about the human body. The beginning stanza The Brain is wider then the sky, for, put them
side to side . She is saying that the two are the same in many ways. The sky is endless and always
growing, as is a brain. We know that Emily Dickinson was very educational. She went to Amherst
Academy schools and was a very out standing student. At the time when she wrote this poem there
was a lot of thing happening such as the civil war and slavery and the Underground

Propose An On Demand Qos Routing Algorithm Essay
The main objective of this paper is to propose an on demand QoS routing algorithm. Since the
requirements for various applications may vary time to time, the approach for QoS routing may not be
proactive. The proposed approach has two phases namely route discovery phase and route
maintenance phase. When a source node has to pass data to a destination node with QoS requirements
it starts with the route discovery phase. Once the route is found, the data transfer will take place.
While data transmission is going on, it is also required to maintain the path to the destination. This is
very much desirable and required in mobile ad hoc networks and hence is done in the route
maintenance phase. Introduction In Mobile presence service is a vital component of a social network
applications due to mobile user s presence details such as global positioning system location, network
address, and online/offline status are continuously apprise to user s online buddies. A mobile ubiquity
services is an important element of cloud computing environments, for the reason it keeps an up to
date list of presence information of mobile user. If presence updates occur often the number of
messages distributed by presence server may lead to scalability problem and buddy list search
problem in large scale mobile presence services. To overcome the scalability problem proposed an
efficient and ascendable server architecture called presence cloud. It organizes the presence server into
quorum based

  • 2. Single Wired Female Essay Single Wired Female by Greg Dragon is a book in the science fiction/thriller genre. It is the second book by the author, set in the same universe as the previous one, Re wired, and revolves around a character from the previous novel. Bonnie O Neal is talented, successful and rich. Problem is she cannot remember any of it. After four months of comatose condition, Bonnie wakes up to learn that an attempt on her life by her ex husband landed her in the hospital, and caused her memory lapse. Bonnie is recovering from her memory loss, with only one slight glitch: the memories belong to someone else. Whose past has invaded her brain? What is reason behind her sudden awareness and understanding of androids? Is Bonnie s attempted murder a simple case of revenge or is it part of a more sinister conspiracy that has repercussions for the whole world? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For someone recently introduced to Android science fiction, I found the book very thought provoking. Yes, there is some scientific bit to keep the reader interested, though I have mixed feelings about the same; since on one hand people looking for pure science fiction might be disappointed while the newly initiated would find the facts quite easy to grasp. However, what really impressed me was the slightly philosophical and emotional quota in the book. The author intelligently introduces plot twists to explore the question of how would an android construct its identity. Since, the android is essentially built of metal and wires, is it right to assume that it is non living, even though it is made to resemble human life as closely as possible. The story goes a step further, and compares an android s existence to that of a slave, who is also at times subject to molestation, because an android can t complain, can ... • 3. As You Like It a Romantic Comedy The major conventions of Shakespearean Romantic Comedy are: The main action is about love. The would be lovers must overcome obstacles and misunderstandings before being united in harmonious union. The ending frequently involves a parade of couples to the altar and a festive mood or actual celebration (expressed in dance, song, feast, etc.) A Midsummer Night s Dream has four such couples (not counting Pyramus and Thisbe!); As You Like It has four; Twelfth Night has three; etc. Frequently (but not always), it contains elements of the improbable, the fantastic, the supernatural, or the miraculous, e.g. unbelievable coincidences, improbable scenes of recognition/lack of recognition, willful disregard of the social order (nobles marrying ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Shakespeare s early romantic comedy most indebted to John Lyly is Love s Labour s Lost (c. 1588 97), a confection set in the never never land of Navarre where the King and his companions are visited by the Princess of France and her ladies in waiting on a diplomatic mission that soon devolves into a game of courtship. As is often the case in Shakespearean romantic comedy, the young women are sure of who they are and whom they intend to marry; one cannot be certain that they ever really fall in love, since they begin by knowing what they want. The young men, conversely, fall all over themselves in their comically futile attempts to eschew romantic love in favour of more serious pursuits. They perjure themselves, are shamed and put down, and are finally forgiven their follies by the women. Shakespeare brilliantly portrays male discomfiture and female self assurance as he explores the treacherous but desirable world of sexual attraction, while the verbal gymnastics of the play emphasize the wonder and the delicious foolishness of falling in love. In The Taming of the Shrew (c. 1590 94), Shakespeare employs a device of multiple plotting that is to become a standard feature of his romantic comedies. In one plot, derived from Ludovico Ariosto s I suppositi (Supposes, as it had been translated into English by George ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Review Of Tabula Rasa Tabula rasa this is how the educationalist John Locke, (1632) believed children were born, with a blank slate beginning their lives morally neutral. He also wrote that the little and almost insensible impressions on our tender infancies have very important and lasting consequences. He argued that the associations of ideas that one makes when young are more important than those made later because they are the foundation of the self. Locke, (1632) also argued that because a baby s mind was so malleable a parent could mould them with careful diligence. However Kohlberg (2004) was one of the first theorists to address gender as a learned, cognitive concept. His thinking was influenced by Piaget, who portrayed children as active learners who use interactions with their environment to construct an understanding of the world around them (Piaget, 1961). Kohlberg believed that children s cognitive understanding of gender influenced their behaviour (Kohlberg, 1981). Walking into any new born infant s room you could almost certainly guess the gender of the baby just from the colour of his or her clothes, blankets, and toys. Any infant surrounded by pink items is virtually certain to be a girl, whereas a child immersed in blue is very likely to be a boy. This colour differentiation is not limited to newborns. Advertisements in catalogues and newspapers feature little girls dressed in pink clothes, playing with pink toys, carrying pink lunchboxes, typing on pink computers, and so ... • 5. The Mining of Metals Industry Metals have been an important industry for mankind since the Bronze Age, gold and silver are other important metals that were used for currency and ornamental jewelry. The Industrial Revolution helped to usher in modern civilization by transforming iron into railway transportation and high rise buildings in all of the major cities around the world. Concerns for the environment did not exist as long as the metals could be extracted to fulfill the needs of the masses. Environmental concerns about mining didn t even come about in the United States until the Resources Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) in 1976 (EPA 1976). RCRA was the first Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulation that required a study of mining wastes from active surface and underground mining activities. In 1985 the EPA published the Land Disposal Restrictions Phase IV which establishes the metal bearing waste treatment standards (EPA 1985). This includes Toxicity Characteristic waste that is generated from mining processes with high concentration levels. The EPA also printed the Abandoned Mine Site Characterization and Cleanup Handbook in 2000 to cover all mining processes and remediation programs (Ceto and Mahmud 2000). The following pages of this paper will concentrate on the mining practices, present contamination and remediation factors needed to clean up many sites that are either active or abandoned. The mining of metals can be separated into three different ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Monocytogenes Two years later, in 1989, the consumption of L. monocytogenes contaminated shrimp was found to be responsible for 10 confirmed cases of listeriosis with 100% mortality in Connecticut, USA (Riedo et al., 1994). In 1993, Goulet et al. (1998) described 38 human cases of listeriosis associated with consumption of rillettes (pork product) contaminated with the organism in France in 1993. Two years later, Büla et al. (1995) described 57 human cases of listeriosis with 32% deaths due to consumption of contaminated soft cheese in western Switzerland in 1995. In 1997, Dalton et al. (1997) reported an outbreak of 45 human cases showed gastroenteritis and fever in Illinois, USA and they related it to consumption of chocolate milk contaminated with the bacterium. However, there might be not much people know that the Sudoku puzzle was developed Latin square is an n×n grid contain the set of number {1,2,3...,n}. Every number occurs only once in each row and each column. We called the n as order of the Latin Square. Some people might think solving this kind of puzzles did not require mathematical knowledge and thinking. However the statement was wrong. • 8. Analysis Of Many Thousands Gone In Ira Berlin s book, Many Thousands Gone, the main focus is on the transformations that slavery went through from 1619 to 1800. Also, Ira Berlin investigates the ways that slaves and their owners discussed freedom. Meaning that the slaves actions, no matter how powerful the slave owner was, the actions were not in his power. This makes the history of slavery a time of African American failures and successes in strategies. Ira Berlin focuses on the first two centuries of slavery in America in four major regions. Those four major regions being The North, The Chesapeake, The South Carolina Georgia Florida Lowcountry, and the Mississippi Valley. This all happens in the three periods that Ira Berlin chooses to focus on; the charter ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But putting together a synthesis of a burgeoning field while offering up a new interpretive perspective is a tall order. In his most recent book, Ira Berlin has delivered the synoptic, yet forward moving, study of colonial slavery that scholars have needed for the past thirty years (Hadden). One important part from Ira Berlin s thesis is how he changes geographical locations and time periods to show the different stages. All throughout the book, each chapter, has a different location and as the reader reads through the book the years move forward. That is how the reader can read about the four different regions of America; The North, The Chesapeake, The South Carolina Georgia Florida Lowcountry, and the Mississippi Valley. Also the three main time periods; the charter generations of the seventeenth century, the eighteenth century, and the revolutionary period. All the while Ira Berlin starts at 1619 and ends in the 1800s. Slave conditions in the lowcountry were similar to those in the Chesapeake and North except that here they were taken to extremes (chapter 3). This quote proves that Ira Berlin moved regions in the book, but still focused on slavery in each. Also, the focus was specific to slavery in each region. While Ira Berlin compared and contrasted each region and time period of slavery together in the chapters also. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Manifest Destiny Analysis The phrase Manifest Destiny is a phrase that describes an attitude or belief in the mid 1800 s the early Americans were destined by God to grow the nation from coast to coast. This expansion would not only consist of territory, but liberty and economic opportunity as well. This social movement became a generally accepted justification for conquering western lands from Mexico and Native Americans. Early Americans can be described as having many different attitudes that fed the narrative of Manifest Destiny, two of which seemed to be highlighted in the writings of Richard Henry Dana within his book Two Years Before the Mast. I believe that the early attitudes of superiority and greed would become a driving force in the belief in Manifest Destiny. In the early 1800 s Americans of European decent had a sense of superiority over the other peoples who lived in North America for hundreds of years before their arrival. The reader gets a glimpse of this attitude as Dana describes the trade business with the people up and down the territory of California. Dana states that the Californians are an idle, thriftless people and can make nothing for themselves (81). This description of the people in California sheds light on the belief that they were a people lacking in drive and sophistication. Once a reader in the 1800 s would read this statement it would re enforce the belief that westerners were unworthy of the lands they occupy. Dana goes on to describe the country abounding in ... • 11. Persuasive Essay On Winning Competition is defined by the Merriam Webster s Collegiate Dictionary as a contest between rivals. Many views winning as the optimum outcome for their favorite athlete or sport s team. Henry Russell Sanders said, Sure, winning isn t everything; it s the only thing. A similar but different phrase was echoed by Vince Lombardi. He said, Winning isn t important, but the desire to win is. The desire to win is what pushes all to be the best they can be. A healthy society should not be obsessed with winning. Winning, after all, isn t what makes someone the best at something. Sure, Suzy could win the tennis match, but if she has no drive to repeat the action of winning again, what s the point? One example of why the desire to win is best is found in the life of Albert Einstein. This man didn t really excel in school, but he kept working and trying his hardest. In fact, he eventually went to solve many of the great mysteries of physics. However, he didn t make his discoveries until later in life. This shows that if one keeps working hard things will eventually work themselves out, even if it takes. Another example of this principle can found in the life of Phiona. She learned to play chess as a little girl in the slums of Uganda, and she eventually went on to become a chess champion. She, however, wasn t always the best at chess. She lost the very first game she ever played, and this loss sparked her desire to improve the game and to eventually win many matches. She proves ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Australopithecus Research Paper Discovery Australopithecus afarensis was discovered in Ethiopia on November 24, 1974 by paleoanthropologists Donald Johanson, Maurice Taieb, Yves Coppens, and Tom Gray in the Afar Depression in Ethiopia, Africa. The first fossil was found by Johanson in 71 when he discovered a shinbone and femur. They returned in 1974 and the team found several hundred fragments of bones all belonging to a single individual. Characteristics Male Australopithecines are on average 4 11 and weigh about 94 pounds while females average 3 5 and weigh close to 64 pounds. The most notable characteristic of Lucy was found in her knee, which indicated that the species walked upright or was bipedal. Lucy s limb proportions also provide insight to her bipedality. Human s hind limbs (legs) are longer than their fore limbs (arms). The ratio between arms and legs is called an intermembral index. The average intermembral index for humans is between 68 70 , while chimpanzees fall around 106 . Lucy s intermembral index is 88 , which falls between both. This suggests that A. afarensis probably walked on the ground with hind limbs and climbed in trees with fore limbs. Lucy s pelvic blades are human like in that they are short and curved forward, making the case for bipedality while on the ground. The location of Lucy s shoulder, however, provides insight that she spent time climbing in trees. Furthermore, Lucy s sacrum is wide and short at the top and goes in laterally like in humans. A wider and shorter sacrum is better for distributing weight through the pelvis. This follows with bipedal theories because this shaped sacrum is better ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The delays affected customer satisfaction because if the music vendor did not release their recording on time, it would lead the customer to opt for a pirated version, which also causes company loss in sales. The company hopes the project team can use DMAIC to analyze and improve their release process in a timely fashion with fewer errors. They also hope to find out what reasons caused the delays and eliminate the root causes. The planning involves various human based processes, so the company wants to achieve as few errors as possible. It all started when I was 16 when I went to the cinema to view James Cameron s comeback film Avatar. It was late 2009 when the film had just come out in the middle of December. It was Cameron s comeback after a 12 year hiatus after the roaring success of Titanic in 1997 which won him numerous Oscars. Needless to say, I loved it. The film was beautiful. I had never experienced a film where I would feel for the characters. Yeah, that is a long time for a filmmaker to be on hiatus. Though, he was able to pull it off. The contrasts between East and West, East Egg and West Egg, and the two Eggs and New York serve important thematic roles and provide the backdrops for the main conflict. Yet, there needs to be a middle ground between each of these sites, a buffer zone, as it were; there is the great distance that separates East from West; there is the bay that separates East Egg from West Egg; and, there is the Valley of Ashes that separates Long Island from New York. If it is remembered that ashes circa the turn of the century often referred to garbage, then it is possible to interpret the valley of ashes as a dumping ground. (23) The ash heaps, then, are piles of garbage, and the repeated references to waste land, as opposed to wasteland, now make more sense, as does George Wilson s use of a piece of waste to wipe his hands. (24 5) For Fitzgerald, the American dream is to get rich and become socially acceptable; Wilson, who has failed, has wasted his life, and is now down in the dumps. He has been cast away by society, just like the rest of the refuse that surrounds him. This, then, seems to be the fate of middle class dreams despite being conceived in a land filled with opportunity, they all end up in the landfill. Yet, there are still inconsistencies with this interpretation, which also apply to the stricter literal view; where does the gray, scrawny Italian child down the road by the railroad tracks come from? (26) Where do the workmen come from? (137) If the valley is so isolated and desolate how could Nick even imagine there would be an old man regaling little boys with the story of Myrtle s death? As Hahnemann progressed in his practice as a physician, he began to lose trust in the worth of the treatments he provided treatments he had been taught would be effective for their target disease. He claimed that medicine was founded upon perhapses and blind chance and were not tailored to cure the diseases of individual patients; medicine saw disease as something finite and similarly experienced across patients with similar illnesses (Whorton 56). Dah you goes, de ole true Huck; de on y white genlman dat ever kep his promise to ole Jim (Twain 67). This infers that Jim made Huck felt guilty about having the thought of turning him in. • 31. Nursing And Nursing Careers Nursing Nursing has been an occupation that I have had my mind set on since I was in the second grade. I have always loved the idea of helping people fight their medical battles and being there for them, like someone once was for me. When I was born, I had to have a portion of my left lung taken out. I was not expected to live while my mom was pregnant with me and my sister. After I was born, I was rushed to surgery to remove part of my left lung. Because of the doctors and nurses that had been there for me while I was fighting my battles, I had survived and lead a healthy, normal life now. I want to do the same thing for someone else. I love the idea of being the so called superhero of someone else s life. There are many shapes and sizes of the jobs that registered nurses may do. They provide health care for patients, inform patients of their health conditions, and provide advice and emotional support to patients and their family members (summary). Registered nurses also help doctors during exams and surgeries and dress wounds and incisions (RN Careers). Registered nurses cater to their patient s physical and emotional needs. They comfort a patient and help them emotionally just as much as they help them physically. Nurses often spend a lot of time with patients, resulting in lasting relationships (20 reasons). Very seldomly do you find a career where relationships are built with your clients or patients. Nurses are very fortunate to get to experience these ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 34. Propose An On Demand Qos Routing Algorithm Essay The main objective of this paper is to propose an on demand QoS routing algorithm. Since the requirements for various applications may vary time to time, the approach for QoS routing may not be proactive. The proposed approach has two phases namely route discovery phase and route maintenance phase. When a source node has to pass data to a destination node with QoS requirements it starts with the route discovery phase. Once the route is found, the data transfer will take place. While data transmission is going on, it is also required to maintain the path to the destination. This is very much desirable and required in mobile ad hoc networks and hence is done in the route maintenance phase. Introduction In Mobile presence service is a vital component of a social network applications due to mobile user s presence details such as global positioning system location, network address, and online/offline status are continuously apprise to user s online buddies. A mobile ubiquity services is an important element of cloud computing environments, for the reason it keeps an up to date list of presence information of mobile user. If presence updates occur often the number of messages distributed by presence server may lead to scalability problem and buddy list search problem in large scale mobile presence services. To overcome the scalability problem proposed an efficient and ascendable server architecture called presence cloud. It organizes the presence server into quorum based ...
