The American Declaration Of Independence
Although Americas often preach that we aim to constantly uphold the founding principles of this
country, our government has denied citizens an essential entitlement by refusing to grant accessible
health care for all people. The American Declaration of Independence famously states We hold these
truths to be self evident that all men are created equal and endowed by their creator with certain
unalienable rights, including life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The right to pursue life has
been denied to the American people for decades now because there is no organized option for
assistance in maintaining proper health. Hypocritical American leaders continue to praise our unique
freedoms while they sit idly by as countless citizens ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Prominent life insurance companies prepared to capture the private health care market and target it
towards all of their consumers as well as growing families and other groups (Budrys 72). These
companies seized the growing opportunity to cover Americans everywhere and by 1950 almost half
the American population had hospital insurance, compared to less than ten percent just a decade
before (Stevens 259). These private companies functioned as for profit businesses in order to earn
money for elite company employees, unlike the scarce options, which preceded their plans that sought
to improve their companies with acquired profits.
Once health care became a prevalent issue for Americans and their employer s elite lobbyists began
emerging in the rising market. The American Medical Association, founded in 1847, became the
largest organized group of physicians in America (Palmer, Karen). Members of the AMA were often
encouraged to avoid Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) programs, which emerged throughout
the 1930s, eventually going so far as to incentivizing their physicians to resist any form of national
health insurance. Later, their effort to end socialized medicine evolved in 1945 to the biggest lobbyist
movement of its time. At $1.5 million this action lead to a national movement of private companies
attacking the political world with their money and power in an effort to manipulate the American
government and change the way Americans thought about and funded

The Inherent Problem of an Outdated Certificate Revocation...
When certificates become old, outdated, or compromised the web certificate may be revoked.
Revoking certificates provides the Internet companies the ability to tell users that they have changed
their security certificates. This research will introduce the inherent problem of an outdated certificate
revocation system. This research will follow the mixed methods approach and consult many different
types of research documents, tests, and discussions. This research will also document the level of
knowledge that IT staff have when understanding certificate revocation. Some of the finding found
during the initial research of certificate revocation found that there are better ways to use certificate
revocation and that many browser companies ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These companies have neglected to enforce by default SSL/TLS certificate revocation checking. By
doing this, these companies have put their users at risk of phishing scams and/or man in the middle
attacks. Although users can change the certification revocation check settings, many users do
understand the risk. Research conducted on this topic is just recently been released (within the last
couple years). Questions still come up and my research project will attempt to answer these questions:
Strict enforcement of certificate revocation can be set within browser, but even the most technical
person may not be able to find and set these settings. Once the strict setting are set, what will the
browser do if a certificate check times out and how will a user know that the certificate timed out
rather than being revoked? If strict checking is enabled and an attacker can prevent responses from a
certificate server than the users are denied from accessing that website, allowing the attack to shut
traffic off from the targeted server. What can browser companies do to enforce a stricter certificate
revocation check process? These questions will provide good data representing the inherent problem
with web browsers and checking revoked certificates. This research project will focus on a mixed
method, using qualitative and quantitative methods to gather and compare data. This research will
include data gathered from other research,

Anti-semitism Essay
For more than two thousand years anti Semitism has plagued the Jews, however, the term has only
been around for about thirty years (Strack 594). Due to the hateful accusations and of those who did
not understand their religion, Jews, as a scorned people, gradually became more exclusive and
intolerant of other religions. Because of Judaism s strict adherence to their own beliefs and
unwillingness to consider any alternatives, Muslims and Christians have scorned and persecuted Jews.
First, the Muslim s basis for anti Judaism rests primarily on religious beliefs. Islam teaches that Allah,
the Muslim god, requires that a good Muslim pray a ritual prayer five times per day, give a token of
their income to charity, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Forced out of agriculture by the discriminating land tax, many Jews...undertook an active role in the
expanding international trade and finance (Rivkin 25) because they needed a means of making money
in order to survive. However Muslim merchants were granted privileges over others therefore the
merchants who were discriminated against had to work extra hard, be extra shrewd, and even more
importantly charge interest in order to survive and get ahead. In consequence, the Jews got stereotyped
as being ruthless, money hungry, and even unethical. One well known ethnologist Friedrich Von
Hellwald says, No means are too wicked for them to use in order to secure a material advantage. He
also sums up the general hate for the Jews when he says, We cannot do otherwise than designate the
Jews the very canker from which the lands of Eastern Europe suffer (Strack 549). To conclude,
Muslims rejected the Jews for their religious beliefs and rejection of Islam, but, further, they hated
them for their roles in the merchant world.
Like the Muslims the Christians persecuted the Jews for not conforming Christianity, but even more
so because they blamed the Jews for the death of their savior Jesus Christ. Because of this prejudice,
the Jews were blamed for causing the troubles of society (Levanon 559). In other words, so scorned
were the Jews that they became scapegoats

Prometheus Research Paper
The time is shortly after Prometheus gave fire to men and was bound to the rocky peak of Caucasus.
One day a strange creature appeared to him in the form of a young female cow who has not borne a
calf, but talked like a human girl who was driven mad with misery. When the girl saw Prometheus she
stopped in her tracks and began to weep about her misfortunes. Prometheus then recognized her as the
daughter of Inachus, Io. He then recounts how Io had an affair with Zeus and that it was Hera who
caused her misery. Io was amazed at his knowledge of her trials and asked who in fact this stranger
was. Prometheus then identified himself as the god who gave men fire, and and she at once recognized
him. They then conversed about their misfortunes and how Zeus had coerced her into having an affair
with him and then trying to cover it up by wrapping the earth in a cloud so thick that a sudden night
seemed to drive the clear daylight away.

and asked him to sit beside him and play some more. Hermes then began to recite many stories to

First Person Singular Narrative
Throughout the novella, Chronicle of a Death Foretold, Gabriel Garcia Marquez chooses to narrate the
book from an unclear point of view. Certain sections of the book seem to be written in a first person
singular point of view, while others seem to be in first person plural, and yet others seem to be written
in the third person. For example, on the ninety eighth page of this chronicle, the narrator relates to the
audience the arrival of the magistrate investigating the murder. I never discovered his name.
Everything we know about his character has been learned from the brief... . The use of the word I in
this quote relates a first person singular narrative because it provides understanding to the audience of

Can Critical Regionalism Counteract The Impact Of...
Can Critical Regionalism counteract the impact of Globalisation on our cities?
In the era of constant networking and relaying of information, the world has become a much smaller
place. The shrinking world has somewhat become a familiar spectacle of identical fads and lifestyles.
At least in the developed countries, globalisation has given birth to homogenous consumer culture.
Demonstrated not only by the expansion of multi national cooperations such as Apple and Starbucks
but also by the indistinct architecture. It is a common sighting in urban cities today to see the identical
steel, concrete and glass structures. This occurrence might be innate due to the easy exportation of
concepts and architects, however not obligatory. Whilst advancing towards a modern society,
architects have adapted this universal style of architecture that fails to represent the unique topography
of different cities. Architects have the choice to either repeat the same building everywhere or to push
ourselves forward, to create an encounter between ourselves and the local culture (Koolhaas, 2012). If
the notion of Critical Regionalism were to be practiced by architects through the integration of the
local culture with modern techniques, it could potentially return the missing identities of these cities.
Critical Regionalism was devised during the early 20th century, as an attempt to reject the monotony
developed by the International Style and the purposeless ornamentation utilised by

Examining The Place Of The Russian Minority
Examining the Place of the Russian Minority in Latvia: Aliens, non citizens or stateless persons?
Introduction
The region of Latvia has a long history of occupation by foreign powers and so its ethnicity is quite
varied. The Latvian Republic is one of the Baltic States located on the coast of the Baltic Sea. Along
with its neighbours Lithuania and Estonia, Latvia gained independence from the Soviet Union in
1991. It is when Latvia gained its status as an independent state that the most crucial period for the
Russian speaking residents began, as at that time the country s main issue was the status of its 1.1
million Russian speaking residents. Under Latvia s 2000 census (Heleniak, 2006), 30 per cent of the
country s 2.4 million population ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The year independence was restored was defining for many thousands of Russians permanently living
in Latvia. On 3rd March 1991 a nonbinding advisory referendum took place with the result that 73%
of all Latvian residents supported the notion for independent Latvia (Troitsky, 2011). The Popular
Front of Latvia, the national movement which was promoting the idea of segregation, advocated that
all permanent residents will be entitled to and qualified for Latvian citizenship (Melvin, 1995, p. 34).
All those who want to be citizens of Latvia can be (Lieven, 1997, p. 304) stated Anatolijs Gorbunovs,
Chairman of the Latvian Supreme Council. However, the universal citizenship for all permanent
residents was not adopted. Latvia restored the rights and status only for those persons who were
identified as citizens under the 1919 Law together with their descendants (Aleinikoff Klusmeyer,
2001, p. 31). Thereby, for the majority of ethnic non Latvians citizenship was not granted, even when
the biggest portion of them were born in Latvia. This was seen as an attempt to suppress national
extinction (Mole, 2012, p. 89 90) caused by, according to the radicals in Latvia, the Russian people.
Those people became non citizens not holding citizenship to any other country and without the right to
vote. In Latvia as well as in Estonia the Russian population is seen as a reminder of their unhappy past
(Best, 2013, p. 34), thus the Russian people are not welcomed

Enron and Parmalat
Managua, Nicaragua

ENRON
Background
In 1985 Kenneth Lay merged his company, Houston Natural Gas, with Nebraska s InterNorth to create
the Enron; a company to be the biggest natural gass corporation to exist in the U.S. During the 1980 s,
under the presidency of Ronald Raegan, there was a considerable lack of regulations regarding the
energy markets, thus allowing the company to buy and sell contracts for a delivery at some time in the
future.
By 1990 Jeffery Skilling joined as a former consultant, eventually to become Enron s COO (Chief
Operating Officer). His participation encouraged the incentive of making the company more focused

Parmalat s strategy at this point relied on building a network of off shore mail box companies so that
the company could conceal the losses, being the largest bond players Bank of America, J.P. Morgan
and Citicorp. Basically these banks had the notion that these bonds were sound financial paper where
in fact they were absolutely nothing. (Claudio Celani, 2004)
Claudio Celani suggests in his article that what strikes one is not only the dimension of the scheme,
but the arrogance of its authors. For instance, one of the offshore mail box firms used to channel the
liquidity coming from the bond sales was called Bucanero, which means black hole ! Appropriately,
the first class action suit in the United States on the Parmalat case, filed by the South Alaskan miners
Pension Fund, is against Parmalat, its auditors, Bank of America, and Citicorp and focuses on
Bucanero It was later found out in 2003 that the company concealed a sum of $14 bn black hole , as
Celani suggests, in its finances. (Claudio Celani, 2004)
For the next years to come there was a marathon of court cases on both continents (American and
European), and so it was discovered that nearly €4bn of funds in a Bank of America account did not
exist. Though the firm admitted to have a certain amount of debts it was later seen in 2004 that it had
in fact about €14.3bn (actually being 4 times the amount suggested). In turn , by 2008 Fausto Tonna is

Essay On Zika Virus
The recent spread of the fatal Zika virus throughout Central and South America has left the world in
shock. The entrance the virus into Miami has enhanced the scare even more. Now that it has become a
realistic problem to the United States, the thought of personal safety comes to mind. There is a global
panic erupting and it is obvious that this disease needs to be stopped. This mosquito transmitted
infection can be passed onto a human with as little as one bite, and because it is a virus, there is no
absolute cure for it. Seeing these facts, the only thing that can be done is preventing it from moving
any further. Zika has proven that it is a threat around the world, so to ensure that the country stays safe

According to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, About 80 percent of people who are
infected with Zika virus may not have any symptoms. Illness may develop in 20 percent of infected
people within 3 to 7 days after a bite from an infected mosquito. Common symptoms of Zika virus
infection include fever, rash, joint pain, conjunctivitis (red eyes), muscle pain or headache. Severe
symptoms and fatalities are uncommon ( Zika Virus ). The author reports that not everyone with the
virus will become sick, and some might never show symptoms. This is important because there is no
clear way to be certain that you are not infected. The uncertainty of Zika is partly why it has become
such a problem. If someone is unaware they have the disease, they could easily pass it on to others.
Aside from the dangerous symptoms, the real difficulty is how it affects pregnant women. Zika virus
can be given from the mother to the baby throughout pregnancy as can result in a condition called
microcephaly (the head is smaller than normal because the brain has not properly developed or is not
growing) ( Zika Virus par. 4). This can be deadly in newborn babies and is why Zika is one of the

Whistle Blower
Being a Whistle Blower
To some the word whistleblower just sounds like a bad thing to be called. So what is a whistle blower
you may ask? A whistleblower is a person who informs on a person or an organization engaged in an
illicit activity. So what are the pro to being a whistleblower, better yet what are the cons as well? Some
of the pros are that the person who is a whistleblower is a courageous individual who recognize a
wrong and are willing to take risks in order to see that the wrongs are corrected. Personal gratification
isn t the only benefit of becoming a whistleblower though. The amount that the relator can receive
most often ranges from 15% to 30% depending on whether the government intervenes in the case or
not. The whistle ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

nothing more than a rat to the company and may make it much harder for you to ever get a job with
any corporation. That being said I cant see how anyone would want to be a whistleblower at all
because it could ruin your life in the long run.
I believe that Douglas Durand and the Federal Government were wrong in the case against TAP when
it comes to ethical standpoint. The fact that their case started to fall apart because Douglas didn t have
all the proof that he truly thought he had. I also believe that they didn t have the justification to go in

Douglas had just stayed a little longer and perhaps was able to prove everything much easier and
much faster in the process instead of having everything almost fall apart on their faces.

Poetic Devices In The Raven
The poem I decided to explicate was The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe. The reason I chose this poem is
because I love Edgar Allen Poe s writings. I have always loved reading his dark and twisted poems,
even when I was younger in middle school his poems always got my attention the most. I had never
read The Raven until now, but I am familiar with some of his others like The Tell Tale Heart. I did
really enjoy reading The Raven , the actual raven was a little creepy, but I also like to read poems with
elements like that. In the first stanza there are two types of poetic devices used, one of them is the use
of alliteration which is found very prominent throughout the entire poem. Some uses of alliteration
that are found in the first stanza are while I pondered, weak and weary or while I nodded, nearly
napping, suddenly there came a tapping,/ as of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.
The whole first stanza is pretty much an example alliteration because of how every word starts with
the same letter or sounds closely alike. Then the second type of poetic device used was the use of
foreshadowing. Poe uses foreshadowing when says there is a visitor tapping on his door as if
something bad is going to happen. In the second stanza Poe still uses alliteration, though not as
strongly as in the first stanza. Some examples of alliteration used in the second stanza were found in
the lines, Eagerly I wished the morrow; vainly I had sought to borrow from my books

The Globalization Of The Cocoa Industry In The Mayan Economy
Globalization is a predominant term in global politics today, but it is a more complex issue than some
may perceive it to be. While it has enabled a remarkably integrated global political landscape and fast
tracked the international economy, these new global networks also exposed the full extent of economic
and power imbalances between states. Powerful western states and corporations have used global
integration to exploit states that are rich in highly sought after resources, but not strong or secure
enough to protect these resources from external actors. The worldwide cocoa industry has expanded
profoundly since its emergence in Mesoamerican culture in the 15th century, and this industry has
become a microcosm of western dominance in the global economy. The exploitation of Latin
American and African countries at the hands of western corporate enterprises is an ongoing trend in
cocoa production; however, hope rests in corporate social responsibility and the fair trade movement
to dramatically alter the global production network of cocoa going forward.
Cocoa has an illustrious history which initially began with the Mayans around 500 BCE in
Mesoamerica, the region that would later make up Mexico and some surrounding nations (Kermani
2006). With no access to external sweeteners like sugar, the cocoa of this era had a bitter taste which
differs greatly from what is recognized as chocolate today. Since Mayan civilization did not possess
the resources to create a solid, edible

Car yard business: (1 paragraph)
Within Australia, majority of population will need vehicles as transportation. Therefore, many people
purchased cars from licensed car dealerships, private owner, online or at an auction. According to
Anglo (2013), most of the car dealership in Australia provides legal protection such applying warranty
for 3 months. In additional to this, many car dealerships has the accurate documents and history of
their vehicles, therefore it is far more reliable to purchase car from a car dealership. Recently, Rezek s
(2012) article states that over the past three to four years, the Australian used car businesses have
experienced vital changes with its trading trends. The price of a vehicle is to a large extent determined
by supply and demand. Whilst this information is true for the price of a vehicle, the profit of vehicles
is to some extent determined by the buying. With the arrival of private sellers, both buying and selling
has extremely become more challenging (Rezek, 2012). Many people believe that the internet has
affected their profits however those that have used it have expressed a high level of success with it.
This is because it provides greater opportunities to increase its customer base and promote its product.
It can provide a cost effective form of marketing and means to access more customers. Others have

Rhetorical Analysis Essay On Notre Dame

who enrolled in the spring and participated in spring practices for Notre Dame. Coach Brian Kelly had
this to say about him during those early practices. As I noted in the defensive section, because Jones

Alcohol Is The Biggest Killer Of Young People
Just as Vodka is the drink often associated with Russian culture, Guinness dark stout beer is the drink
often associated with Irish culture. This culture is often known for heavy drinking and friendly pubs.
Irish whiskey such as Jameson is proudly consumed and exported. Alcohol is the biggest killer of
young people in Ireland and many are impacted by their parents drinking. One person dies every seven
hours due to alcohol in Ireland. Nine out of ten public order crimes in Ireland are alcohol related and
one tenth of the health budget is spent on dealing with alcohol related harm. Studies conducted at
universities in Ireland found that drinking behaviors were impacted by having fathers or older siblings
with drinking problems. The environment the child grows up in can be highly influential in the child s
attitudes toward alcohol and what they think is normal, and this applies in any culture. One of the
most attractive parts of Irish culture is the local pub. The pub has always been known as a place to get

when it merged with the Gates Learning Foundation. This came after Bill and Melinda read an article
about children in third world countries dying from diseases no longer an issue in the United States.
They read this article in 1997. The Gates Foundation operates off of endowments and donations, but
does not solicit for donations. An endowment is a collection or fund of money that is donated to a non
profit organization such as The Gates Foundation to support it over a period of time to ensure
achievement of their mission. Currently, the total endowment for The Gates Foundation is $42.9
billion. Warren Buffet is a very large supporter via endowment to the Gates Foundation. ... Show more

Internationally, their mission is to focus on developing health conditions, agriculture, vaccine delivery,
and bringing the extremely poor out of poverty by providing assistance for them to rise above the

global scale of which an example is the failures in America s education system. The Gates Foundation
is made up of four different foundation efforts. They are Global Development, Global Health, Global
Policy, Advocacy, and Country Programs, and the US Program. Christopher Elias, Trevor Mundel,
Mark Suzman, and Allan Golston lead these four efforts respectively. Additionally, the three Co chairs

Angela Vicario
This book was a storyline about, the betrayal of a new wife with her new husband. This was
something that when I was reading I didn t expect at all. When I started reading the first chapter I was
completely sure that he had done something wrong, for the first chapter to start off ON THE DAY
THEY WERE GOING TO KILL HIM (Chpt.1 pg.1). Angela Vicario was on of the main characters of
the book, she was the new wife and Bayardo San Roman was her new husband. The book starts with
suspense and it just makes readers want to keep finishing until the end. It gets complicated that I
sometimes end each chapter puzzled because I m just like what? it s absolutely amazing and
intriguing. Angela Vicario is the type of person that helpless air and a poverty ... Show more content

And I also wouldn t have believed that the most innocent woman from the story would be the one to
create the cause of the problem. Realizing the roles of the women in the book expresses what role they
would play with men. Most of the women in the book were referred to as whores or women with
honor, so they each had their position. Angela never was in a category, until someone took her
virginity, because even the ending still leaves the readers confused because we don t know weather it
was Santiago Nasar or someone else, but she keeps saying it was Santiago. So Angela will take the

Essay On Student Athletes Should Be Paid
College sports are everywhere in today s world. Turn on ESPN and you will be surrounded hearing
about Jay Bilas final four predictions or possibly Jon Gruden s Heisman candidates. College sports
have turned into a multi billion dollar industry with consistent growth. Despite of the fast growing
business, the NCAA remains non profit and labels the players student athletes to mark them amateur.
With this label, athletes are recognized as student first and athlete second. Scholastics are supposed to
be prioritized over athletics, however with the growing industry the lines are being blurred. The
NCAA is considered to be an amateur league, however, groups of people are pushing for players to
become paid due to the high revenue. While one ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ed O Bannon, a previous UCLA basketball player filed a case looking to sue the NCAA for licensing
players without consent. The NCAA marks their players as amateurs, therefore, they do not allow
paying players. However after the ruling, the NCAA was found to be violating antitrust laws, which
could potentially change the model of the system (Maese). Judge Claudia Wilken ruled an injunction
that schools in the NCAA would be allowed to provide players a trust fund in order to compensate
players for using their names in broadcasting, merchandise or imaging. In 2016, this trust fund will
allow universities to conduct bidding wars for future recruits (Strauss, Tracy). This of course, would
be able to be capped at a certain mark and would not be payable until after the departure of a student
athlete s time at a college or the end of their eligibility (Berkowitz) This court case could potentially
change the way college sports are run.
Marc Edelman, a writer for forbes.com, argues his point in 21 Reasons Why Student Athletes Are
Employees And Should Be Allowed To Unionize is for the movement to pay players. Edelman focuses
his point on NCAA programs being large revenue businesses and in his opinion should consider
student athletes as employees. With this, he explains that student athletes have to work an average of
43.3 hours a week and oftentimes forced to miss class due to NCAA playoff scheduling (Edelman).
Edelman goes on to compare

With modern day design, you can quickly and conveniently remove upholstered slipcovers and toss
them in the washing machine when soils and stains occur. Regular cleaning of removable covers
brightens their appearance and prolongs their lifespan while protecting them from wear and tear.
While most removable upholstery can go into the washing machine, some fabrics require professional
cleaning. When washing your upholstery covers the first step is to consult the care label, this is done
to ensure that the fabric in question is pre shrunk and colourfast. If you find that the fabric is not
colorfast, refrain from cleaning it by hand or washing machine; untreated fabrics ted to bleed colors

he world of Asia between 500 C.E 1500 C.E. was a patchwork of various languages, religions, and

Persuasive Essay On Animal Welfare
Animal shelters are overflowing, some euthanizing dogs just because they no longer have the
resources to care for these animals, yet people are still buying their dogs from the pet store. When
getting a new dog, adopt it from the animal shelter rather than buying it from a pet store.
Everyone wants to have a cute cuddly family dog, however, they are not willing to put in the time and
energy into properly training their animals so they either leave them on the side of the road, or take
them to animal shelters. According to ASPCA 3.3 million dogs enter animal shelters each year. each.
year. Yet people are still against shelter dogs because of some bad dogs. This high number causes
some animal shelters to reach max capacity and not be able to fully provide for these animals so many
are euthanized just to make more room for more abandoned animals. A total of 670,000 dogs
euthanized each year, yet individuals still continue to support puppy mills by buying puppies from the
pet store. When getting your new puppy from the pet store, it is important that you understand what
environment they were raised in. Individuals who buy their dogs from pet stores, are supporting puppy
mills. Puppy mills are: unsanitary, unethical, and worst of all, completely legal. ASPCA outlines the
Animal Welfare Act in theory protects these animals from mistreatment in these commercial breeding
facilities, however, these laws are hard to enforce. The Animal Welfare Act covers licensing, standards

A New Road Bikes On Friday Morning
Doris and I ride our new road bikes on Friday morning. For ten minutes we warm up, and then, pedal
in the direction to Malibu. The air is cool with early morning fog. Doris leads and I follow. Her pace is
faster than usual. No problem. I ride my bike to ride my bike. I have a low keyed Friday: I ve
scheduled a pitch meeting at eleven with a new writer. The agent I met recently said his client Thinks
out of the box. I would rather that and am keen to meet him. There s an hour before, so I print a copy
of the development report. I read through, and highlight in yellow, the screenplays in limbo. I note
what the problems are with the script/writer in a footnote at the bottom of the page. And further, I
highlight in red the screenplays that Thom has already axed. The remaining projects in active
development, I highlight in green. By lunch time, I m starved. I drive to an In N Out for a
cheeseburger with no bun and wrapped just in lettuce. I skip the fries and have a large diet coke. The
meal is not guilt free because I order a chocolate shake to go. I just won t tell Doris about it. The
balance of the afternoon I read a fantasy script filled numerous plot twists where love, betrayal and
redemption co exist. The rich dialogue and lustful passion take me on a wild ride. I write a page of
notes and put the script in my yes stack. Afterwards, I return phone calls. Megan and I chat about my
schedule on Monday. Then, she leaves with a TGIF glee. I reply to several

Artist s Statement Of DJ Culture
Artist s Statement The development of DJs has brought an array of entertainment, but also various
issues among DJ culture. In addition, I used various DJ techniques, such as beatmatching, to create an
hour long mix of R B tracks through Audacity. Although most of the songs were from the 90s and 00s,
there are cultural aspects in DJ culture that my mixtape relates to. By the early 1950s, the creation of
Rhythm and Blues first existed as black music for black people. Furthermore, with the presence of R
B, personality DJs began to emerge, such as DJ Jack Gibson and Alan Moondog Freed. The 1900s was
a time in which African Americans were oppressed and were still thought of as inferior compared to
whites. However, it was also during this time ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One technique I used was beatmatching. After importing all the tracks I wanted to use into Audacity
and ordering them in a specific way, I decided which 2 tracks each I would mix. Therefore, in order to
beatmatch, I had to choose which parts of the tracks I wanted to transition. Also, in order to transition
from one track to another, I had to align the specific basses. In other words, I had to align where the
start of the beat in one track occurred to the last beat of the other track. This is to allow both tracks to
have the same beat, therefore beatmatching. I also used fading in and out effects to smoothly
transition. I used this technique for a majority of the track. Another DJ technique I used was fast
cutting. Because some songs had a faster bpm, I used fast cutting to quickly transition into another
track while also keeping the same beat. I deleted certain parts of the songs to quickly change the song,
but in a way so that the beat does not change. Lastly, I downloaded a hip hop/R B sound effect and
repeated it throughout the mixtape so it wouldn t be as plain. I decided to make a mixtape containing
only R B songs because, in my perspective, it is a type of genre in which anybody can relate to and
sing along to as well. Therefore, just as other DJs have a purpose, my purpose is to allow the audience
to sing along to throwback R B tracks. This is to create

score in linguistic and kinesthetic should be higher. There are some statements in the Assessment

You like working on projects on your own , and You enjoy humming or singing along with music. My

The Goal, By Eliyahu M.
The Goal, written by Eliyahu M. Goldratt, displays the life of a plant manager who is told that if he is
not able to shift the manufacturing plant within a constrained time frame to make money, the factory
will shut down. What s even more interesting about the novel is that it is based on the conflicts and
advances of a mere manager in a small company located in a small town. By introducing and
successfully implementing the Theory of Constraints , this manager was able to make this small
company that was on the verge of shutting down to have one of the most productive plants thus
making the factory more successful at the end. Alex Rogo, plant manager at UniCo, is told that he
needs to bring the plant around in three months and make it profitable. Battling between his personal
life problems (marriage) and problems at work, Alex just couldn t seem to make it work initially. He
targets all of the wrong factors like employing the right people and assuring he has the latest
technology. This is demonstrated clearly when Mr. Bill Peach, division vice president, discusses about
a seven week overdue order that needed to be shipped out that very same day. The first foul is seen
when Mr. Rogo handled the situation by forcing all the employees to work over time that night.
Although that order got shipped out that night, it is not an efficient or stable method to take care of the

  • 2. The American Declaration Of Independence Although Americas often preach that we aim to constantly uphold the founding principles of this country, our government has denied citizens an essential entitlement by refusing to grant accessible health care for all people. The American Declaration of Independence famously states We hold these truths to be self evident that all men are created equal and endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, including life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The right to pursue life has been denied to the American people for decades now because there is no organized option for assistance in maintaining proper health. Hypocritical American leaders continue to praise our unique freedoms while they sit idly by as countless citizens ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Prominent life insurance companies prepared to capture the private health care market and target it towards all of their consumers as well as growing families and other groups (Budrys 72). These companies seized the growing opportunity to cover Americans everywhere and by 1950 almost half the American population had hospital insurance, compared to less than ten percent just a decade before (Stevens 259). These private companies functioned as for profit businesses in order to earn money for elite company employees, unlike the scarce options, which preceded their plans that sought to improve their companies with acquired profits. Once health care became a prevalent issue for Americans and their employer s elite lobbyists began emerging in the rising market. The American Medical Association, founded in 1847, became the largest organized group of physicians in America (Palmer, Karen). Members of the AMA were often encouraged to avoid Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) programs, which emerged throughout the 1930s, eventually going so far as to incentivizing their physicians to resist any form of national health insurance. Later, their effort to end socialized medicine evolved in 1945 to the biggest lobbyist movement of its time. At $1.5 million this action lead to a national movement of private companies attacking the political world with their money and power in an effort to manipulate the American government and change the way Americans thought about and funded ... • 3. The Inherent Problem of an Outdated Certificate Revocation... When certificates become old, outdated, or compromised the web certificate may be revoked. Revoking certificates provides the Internet companies the ability to tell users that they have changed their security certificates. This research will introduce the inherent problem of an outdated certificate revocation system. This research will follow the mixed methods approach and consult many different types of research documents, tests, and discussions. This research will also document the level of knowledge that IT staff have when understanding certificate revocation. Some of the finding found during the initial research of certificate revocation found that there are better ways to use certificate revocation and that many browser companies ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These companies have neglected to enforce by default SSL/TLS certificate revocation checking. By doing this, these companies have put their users at risk of phishing scams and/or man in the middle attacks. Although users can change the certification revocation check settings, many users do understand the risk. Research conducted on this topic is just recently been released (within the last couple years). Questions still come up and my research project will attempt to answer these questions: Strict enforcement of certificate revocation can be set within browser, but even the most technical person may not be able to find and set these settings. Once the strict setting are set, what will the browser do if a certificate check times out and how will a user know that the certificate timed out rather than being revoked? If strict checking is enabled and an attacker can prevent responses from a certificate server than the users are denied from accessing that website, allowing the attack to shut traffic off from the targeted server. What can browser companies do to enforce a stricter certificate revocation check process? These questions will provide good data representing the inherent problem with web browsers and checking revoked certificates. This research project will focus on a mixed method, using qualitative and quantitative methods to gather and compare data. This research will include data gathered from other research, ... • 4. Anti-semitism Essay For more than two thousand years anti Semitism has plagued the Jews, however, the term has only been around for about thirty years (Strack 594). Due to the hateful accusations and of those who did not understand their religion, Jews, as a scorned people, gradually became more exclusive and intolerant of other religions. Because of Judaism s strict adherence to their own beliefs and unwillingness to consider any alternatives, Muslims and Christians have scorned and persecuted Jews. First, the Muslim s basis for anti Judaism rests primarily on religious beliefs. Islam teaches that Allah, the Muslim god, requires that a good Muslim pray a ritual prayer five times per day, give a token of their income to charity, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Forced out of agriculture by the discriminating land tax, many Jews...undertook an active role in the expanding international trade and finance (Rivkin 25) because they needed a means of making money in order to survive. However Muslim merchants were granted privileges over others therefore the merchants who were discriminated against had to work extra hard, be extra shrewd, and even more importantly charge interest in order to survive and get ahead. In consequence, the Jews got stereotyped as being ruthless, money hungry, and even unethical. One well known ethnologist Friedrich Von Hellwald says, No means are too wicked for them to use in order to secure a material advantage. He also sums up the general hate for the Jews when he says, We cannot do otherwise than designate the Jews the very canker from which the lands of Eastern Europe suffer (Strack 549). To conclude, Muslims rejected the Jews for their religious beliefs and rejection of Islam, but, further, they hated them for their roles in the merchant world. Like the Muslims the Christians persecuted the Jews for not conforming Christianity, but even more so because they blamed the Jews for the death of their savior Jesus Christ. Because of this prejudice, the Jews were blamed for causing the troubles of society (Levanon 559). In other words, so scorned were the Jews that they became scapegoats ... • 5. Prometheus Research Paper The time is shortly after Prometheus gave fire to men and was bound to the rocky peak of Caucasus. One day a strange creature appeared to him in the form of a young female cow who has not borne a calf, but talked like a human girl who was driven mad with misery. When the girl saw Prometheus she stopped in her tracks and began to weep about her misfortunes. Prometheus then recognized her as the daughter of Inachus, Io. He then recounts how Io had an affair with Zeus and that it was Hera who caused her misery. Io was amazed at his knowledge of her trials and asked who in fact this stranger was. Prometheus then identified himself as the god who gave men fire, and and she at once recognized him. They then conversed about their misfortunes and how Zeus had coerced her into having an affair with him and then trying to cover it up by wrapping the earth in a cloud so thick that a sudden night seemed to drive the clear daylight away. Hera, not believing a word of it asked Zeus to make a present of her. Zeus knowing that denying his wife s wishes would give it all away and turned Io over to Hera. Hera then put Io under the supervision of Argus, a creature with 100 eyes. With this many eyes Argus could sleep and keep watch at the same time. Zeus, desperate to help Io asked his son, Hermes to kill Argus. Hermes, the most clever of the gods, put aside all that made him godly and approached Argus as a man from the country who played the lyre. Argus was pleased with his song and asked him to sit beside him and play some more. Hermes then began to recite many stories to Argus until one about the god Pan made all his eyes fall asleep. • 6. First Person Singular Narrative Throughout the novella, Chronicle of a Death Foretold, Gabriel Garcia Marquez chooses to narrate the book from an unclear point of view. Certain sections of the book seem to be written in a first person singular point of view, while others seem to be in first person plural, and yet others seem to be written in the third person. For example, on the ninety eighth page of this chronicle, the narrator relates to the audience the arrival of the magistrate investigating the murder. I never discovered his name. • 7. Can Critical Regionalism Counteract The Impact Of... Can Critical Regionalism counteract the impact of Globalisation on our cities? In the era of constant networking and relaying of information, the world has become a much smaller place. The shrinking world has somewhat become a familiar spectacle of identical fads and lifestyles. At least in the developed countries, globalisation has given birth to homogenous consumer culture. Demonstrated not only by the expansion of multi national cooperations such as Apple and Starbucks but also by the indistinct architecture. It is a common sighting in urban cities today to see the identical steel, concrete and glass structures. This occurrence might be innate due to the easy exportation of concepts and architects, however not obligatory. Whilst advancing towards a modern society, architects have adapted this universal style of architecture that fails to represent the unique topography of different cities. Architects have the choice to either repeat the same building everywhere or to push ourselves forward, to create an encounter between ourselves and the local culture (Koolhaas, 2012). If the notion of Critical Regionalism were to be practiced by architects through the integration of the local culture with modern techniques, it could potentially return the missing identities of these cities. Critical Regionalism was devised during the early 20th century, as an attempt to reject the monotony developed by the International Style and the purposeless ornamentation utilised by ... • 8. Examining The Place Of The Russian Minority Examining the Place of the Russian Minority in Latvia: Aliens, non citizens or stateless persons? Introduction The region of Latvia has a long history of occupation by foreign powers and so its ethnicity is quite varied. The Latvian Republic is one of the Baltic States located on the coast of the Baltic Sea. Along with its neighbours Lithuania and Estonia, Latvia gained independence from the Soviet Union in 1991. It is when Latvia gained its status as an independent state that the most crucial period for the Russian speaking residents began, as at that time the country s main issue was the status of its 1.1 million Russian speaking residents. Under Latvia s 2000 census (Heleniak, 2006), 30 per cent of the country s 2.4 million population ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The year independence was restored was defining for many thousands of Russians permanently living in Latvia. On 3rd March 1991 a nonbinding advisory referendum took place with the result that 73% of all Latvian residents supported the notion for independent Latvia (Troitsky, 2011). The Popular Front of Latvia, the national movement which was promoting the idea of segregation, advocated that all permanent residents will be entitled to and qualified for Latvian citizenship (Melvin, 1995, p. 34). All those who want to be citizens of Latvia can be (Lieven, 1997, p. 304) stated Anatolijs Gorbunovs, Chairman of the Latvian Supreme Council. However, the universal citizenship for all permanent residents was not adopted. Latvia restored the rights and status only for those persons who were identified as citizens under the 1919 Law together with their descendants (Aleinikoff Klusmeyer, 2001, p. 31). Thereby, for the majority of ethnic non Latvians citizenship was not granted, even when the biggest portion of them were born in Latvia. This was seen as an attempt to suppress national extinction (Mole, 2012, p. 89 90) caused by, according to the radicals in Latvia, the Russian people. Those people became non citizens not holding citizenship to any other country and without the right to vote. In Latvia as well as in Estonia the Russian population is seen as a reminder of their unhappy past (Best, 2013, p. 34), thus the Russian people are not welcomed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Enron and Parmalat Managua, Nicaragua Sept 28th, 2013 ENRON Background In 1985 Kenneth Lay merged his company, Houston Natural Gas, with Nebraska s InterNorth to create the Enron; a company to be the biggest natural gass corporation to exist in the U.S. During the 1980 s, under the presidency of Ronald Raegan, there was a considerable lack of regulations regarding the energy markets, thus allowing the company to buy and sell contracts for a delivery at some time in the future. Appropriately, the first class action suit in the United States on the Parmalat case, filed by the South Alaskan miners Pension Fund, is against Parmalat, its auditors, Bank of America, and Citicorp and focuses on Bucanero It was later found out in 2003 that the company concealed a sum of $14 bn black hole , as Celani suggests, in its finances. There is a global panic erupting and it is obvious that this disease needs to be stopped. This mosquito transmitted infection can be passed onto a human with as little as one bite, and because it is a virus, there is no absolute cure for it. Seeing these facts, the only thing that can be done is preventing it from moving any further. Common symptoms of Zika virus infection include fever, rash, joint pain, conjunctivitis (red eyes), muscle pain or headache. Severe symptoms and fatalities are uncommon ( Zika Virus ). The author reports that not everyone with the virus will become sick, and some might never show symptoms. This is important because there is no clear way to be certain that you are not infected. The uncertainty of Zika is partly why it has become such a problem. If someone is unaware they have the disease, they could easily pass it on to others. Aside from the dangerous symptoms, the real difficulty is how it affects pregnant women. Zika virus can be given from the mother to the baby throughout pregnancy as can result in a condition called microcephaly (the head is smaller than normal because the brain has not properly developed or is not growing) ( Zika Virus par. 4). • 12. Poetic Devices In The Raven The poem I decided to explicate was The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe. The reason I chose this poem is because I love Edgar Allen Poe s writings. I have always loved reading his dark and twisted poems, even when I was younger in middle school his poems always got my attention the most. I had never read The Raven until now, but I am familiar with some of his others like The Tell Tale Heart. I did really enjoy reading The Raven , the actual raven was a little creepy, but I also like to read poems with elements like that. In the first stanza there are two types of poetic devices used, one of them is the use of alliteration which is found very prominent throughout the entire poem. Some uses of alliteration that are found in the first stanza are while I pondered, weak and weary or while I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,/ as of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door. The whole first stanza is pretty much an example alliteration because of how every word starts with the same letter or sounds closely alike. Then the second type of poetic device used was the use of foreshadowing. Poe uses foreshadowing when says there is a visitor tapping on his door as if something bad is going to happen. In the second stanza Poe still uses alliteration, though not as strongly as in the first stanza. Some examples of alliteration used in the second stanza were found in the lines, Eagerly I wished the morrow; vainly I had sought to borrow from my books ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 14. The Globalization Of The Cocoa Industry In The Mayan Economy Globalization is a predominant term in global politics today, but it is a more complex issue than some may perceive it to be. While it has enabled a remarkably integrated global political landscape and fast tracked the international economy, these new global networks also exposed the full extent of economic and power imbalances between states. Powerful western states and corporations have used global integration to exploit states that are rich in highly sought after resources, but not strong or secure enough to protect these resources from external actors. The worldwide cocoa industry has expanded profoundly since its emergence in Mesoamerican culture in the 15th century, and this industry has become a microcosm of western dominance in the global economy. The exploitation of Latin American and African countries at the hands of western corporate enterprises is an ongoing trend in cocoa production; however, hope rests in corporate social responsibility and the fair trade movement to dramatically alter the global production network of cocoa going forward. Cocoa has an illustrious history which initially began with the Mayans around 500 BCE in Mesoamerica, the region that would later make up Mexico and some surrounding nations (Kermani 2006). With no access to external sweeteners like sugar, the cocoa of this era had a bitter taste which differs greatly from what is recognized as chocolate today. • 31. A New Road Bikes On Friday Morning Doris and I ride our new road bikes on Friday morning. For ten minutes we warm up, and then, pedal in the direction to Malibu. The air is cool with early morning fog. Doris leads and I follow. Her pace is faster than usual. No problem. I ride my bike to ride my bike. I have a low keyed Friday: I ve scheduled a pitch meeting at eleven with a new writer. The agent I met recently said his client Thinks out of the box. I would rather that and am keen to meet him. There s an hour before, so I print a copy of the development report. I read through, and highlight in yellow, the screenplays in limbo. I note what the problems are with the script/writer in a footnote at the bottom of the page. And further, I highlight in red the screenplays that Thom has already axed. The remaining projects in active development, I highlight in green. By lunch time, I m starved. I drive to an In N Out for a cheeseburger with no bun and wrapped just in lettuce. I skip the fries and have a large diet coke. The meal is not guilt free because I order a chocolate shake to go. I just won t tell Doris about it. The balance of the afternoon I read a fantasy script filled numerous plot twists where love, betrayal and redemption co exist. The rich dialogue and lustful passion take me on a wild ride. I write a page of notes and put the script in my yes stack. Afterwards, I return phone calls. Megan and I chat about my schedule on Monday. Then, she leaves with a TGIF glee. I reply to several ... • 33. Artist s Statement Of DJ Culture Artist s Statement The development of DJs has brought an array of entertainment, but also various issues among DJ culture. In addition, I used various DJ techniques, such as beatmatching, to create an hour long mix of R B tracks through Audacity. Although most of the songs were from the 90s and 00s, there are cultural aspects in DJ culture that my mixtape relates to. By the early 1950s, the creation of Rhythm and Blues first existed as black music for black people. Furthermore, with the presence of R B, personality DJs began to emerge, such as DJ Jack Gibson and Alan Moondog Freed. The 1900s was a time in which African Americans were oppressed and were still thought of as inferior compared to whites. However, it was also during this time ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One technique I used was beatmatching. After importing all the tracks I wanted to use into Audacity and ordering them in a specific way, I decided which 2 tracks each I would mix. Therefore, in order to beatmatch, I had to choose which parts of the tracks I wanted to transition. Also, in order to transition from one track to another, I had to align the specific basses. In other words, I had to align where the start of the beat in one track occurred to the last beat of the other track. This is to allow both tracks to have the same beat, therefore beatmatching. I also used fading in and out effects to smoothly transition. I used this technique for a majority of the track. Another DJ technique I used was fast cutting. Because some songs had a faster bpm, I used fast cutting to quickly transition into another track while also keeping the same beat. I deleted certain parts of the songs to quickly change the song, but in a way so that the beat does not change. Lastly, I downloaded a hip hop/R B sound effect and repeated it throughout the mixtape so it wouldn t be as plain. I decided to make a mixtape containing only R B songs because, in my perspective, it is a type of genre in which anybody can relate to and sing along to as well. Therefore, just as other DJs have a purpose, my purpose is to allow the audience to sing along to throwback R B tracks. This is to create ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 36. The Goal, By Eliyahu M. The Goal, written by Eliyahu M. Goldratt, displays the life of a plant manager who is told that if he is not able to shift the manufacturing plant within a constrained time frame to make money, the factory will shut down. What s even more interesting about the novel is that it is based on the conflicts and advances of a mere manager in a small company located in a small town. By introducing and successfully implementing the Theory of Constraints , this manager was able to make this small company that was on the verge of shutting down to have one of the most productive plants thus making the factory more successful at the end. Alex Rogo, plant manager at UniCo, is told that he needs to bring the plant around in three months and make it profitable. Battling between his personal life problems (marriage) and problems at work, Alex just couldn t seem to make it work initially. He targets all of the wrong factors like employing the right people and assuring he has the latest technology. This is demonstrated clearly when Mr. Bill Peach, division vice president, discusses about a seven week overdue order that needed to be shipped out that very same day. The first foul is seen when Mr. Rogo handled the situation by forcing all the employees to work over time that night. Although that order got shipped out that night, it is not an efficient or stable method to take care of the problem. This is when Jonah, Alex s old physics professor, comes to the rescue. After Jonah s and Alex s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
