The break down in the communication process has cost the company money and the challenge of
constant rework. The lack of communication is frustrating for lower level employees as it seems to
reach them last; yet impact them the greatest. They are on the front line with the customers (doctors

Early on in the semester, I have found that Chapter 12 has been one of the more intriguing sections to
read. After deciding on a topic for the paper, I combed the book for interesting topics that could relate
to the prisoner of war ethic. In many ways I started my journey with Chapter 12; making it all the

Chapter 12 and the section on Prima Facie Duties cover a good range of personal subjects. This
chapter espouses the ideal that communication is not confined to national or even international
borders. Kales Human Nature, for example, proposes the importance of the human spirit over cultural
boundaries. Though it is not easy, we must communicate with others in a way that does not reflect
back on our own biases and stereotypes in other forms of intercultural communication. And I am
personally fascinated by the concept of moral exclusion. The ability to which we are able to extend
rights to other people is reflective of where they lie in our sphere of moral consideration, I believe.
One of the eight stages of genocide dehumanization comes to mind. As the book notes, this
dehumanization is reflected in communication. Communication, such as propaganda, that lowers the
status of others exemplifies this dehumanization.

The history of Bosnia was full of violence, anger and war. Bosnia was once the epicenter of former

For this experiment, our hypothesis was that if we used sweatshirt fabric, then it will cause the UV
bead to have the lightest color, opposed to having fabric from the middle part of a hat, and t shirt
fabric.
The control date remained the same throughout the experiment. Each indicator bead stayed at 5 on the
UV color guide. The experimental data varied. The beads that were under the sweatshirt and the t shirt
fabric had a 2 on the UV color guide, while the hat fabric had a 1. First, I said that the sweatshirt
fabric would make the bead have the lowest number on the UV color guide. I was wrong because the
sweatshirt fabric scored a 2. Next, my hypothesis said that the t shirt fabric would cause the bead to
have a darker color than the sweatshirt fabric. That was incorrect because the t shirt also scored a 2,

I would also like to have more trials, a shorter timing duration, and have the light higher up than I did
in this experiment. The follow up experiment would help answer If a thicker piece of material will
