When I had signed up for this class, I thought it was going to be similar to a humanities course. I
thought that we would be learning about how journaling has evolved and various ways to journal. As
the class progressed, I found it to be more of an art than a humanities class. When this reality did not
match my expectation, I was disappointed. I had to challenge myself to get the most out of this course
by changing my attitude and adjusting my perspective.
As an art class, this would have been an excellent idea and well executed. Being able to learn about
different materials, binding techniques, and adhesives were helpful in the creation of journals, but it
was not what I had expected. One thing that stands out to me was the research paper, it just did not
seem to fit into the class very well. Most of the students did not know how to use Chicago Style
referencing properly and there was not any class time allotted to learning it nor to working on the
essays. It seemed to be used to check a box rather than to help our understanding. I think that this
essay would have fit into the course much better if we had been spending time in class learning about
various historical journalists and how their work impacted the region in which it was created. It just
did not seem as though our homework matched our class work, so I was a little thrown off. This
imbalance was especially apparent because the room was deemed technology free, so we could not
even work on our essays while in class.

The animals really loved it too, as they munched on mush from feed bags tied around their necks.
They would get so frisky and spunky from feeling their oats that they would deposit road apples in the
corral. This was soon stomped into the dirt and completely overwhelmed the fresh, fragrant smell of

Have you ever thought about moving your whole family to another country? If you did so, what are
the reasons to do that? We chose to move because in our country they have crisis, they are too poor,
they have worse education and a lot of reasons that we cannot tell. After moving to another country,
we might see a lot of differences between our old country and the new country. I and my family
moved from Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam to Minnesota because we believe that I and my brother will

lot of activities to do with the university community. We also spend less time at school and more time

citizens. But Ho Chi Minh City on the contrary, there, we do not have choices for our subjects, we
have to pick our major as soon as we roll up for an university or a college and then we have to study
