A Concept Analysis On Compassion Fatigue
I. Background and Significance
II. Meaning in Published Works
III. Purpose
The purpose of conducting a concept analysis is to divide the components of a concept into separate
individual parts for evaluation and clarification. Analysis of the internal structure, defining aspects,
characteristics and interrelationships to the other components can be achieved by conducting a concept
analysis. The basic purpose is a process to discover the similarities and differences between concepts
(Walker Avant, 2005). The intent of the concept analysis on the subject of compassion fatigue is to
evaluate compassion fatigue in nursing and to determine the current conceptual use in efforts to clarify
the relevance to nurses. The aim is to identify how the concept is currently utilized and how it could
potentially be utilized in the future.
IV. Definitions and Defining Attributes
A. Compassion fatigue in nursing is defined as the resultant distress and physical experiences that
occur when continuously caring for others, usually in highly stressful situations (Sheppard, 2015).
Burnout and secondary traumatic stress disorder are terms identified in the literature as having
affiliations with compassion fatigue. Burnout is a physical and mental exhaustion that occurs as a
gradual result of working in hostile and demanding environments or under stress. Secondary traumatic
stress disorder is a traumatic reaction that occurs due to witnessing the suffering of others (Hinderer et
al., 2014).

The Stolen Bacillus
Juxstapositions of The Stolen Bacillus and The Adventure of the Bruce Partington Plans
The Scientific Method is a research tool used to analyze the realities of life by exploring new
phenomena, aquiring knowledge about the world around us and then, developing that data into
questions that will open up to further investigation. Moreover, this method made up of theories/data
that lead to the formation of a hypothesis. The hypothesis is the most important part of the experiment
because it constitutes inductive and deductive reasoning, but more importantly it is falsifiable and
realistic. This leads to the experimental portion of the scientific method where the researcher will test

Conversely, the visitor ousts the scientist s ability to scrutinize him and this conflict is what drives the
plot of the story. To begin, the bacteriologist inductively analyzes the visitors reaction to the cholera
by using words like the pale faced man, with a limp white hand and disengaged eye (page 1)
Proceeding, the visitor quotes ...those mere autonomies might multiply and devastate a city!
Wonderful! (page. 1) This deductively concludes for the bacteriologists that this strange man had
gruesome thoughts and poor intentions, leading to the scientists beginning hypothesis... Once he
brought the bottled cholera he saw the the gleam of satisfaction coming from the visitor. (pg.1) The
reason I believe this to be the hypothesis is because it is falsifiable; the reaction of a person seeing live
cholera, a ferocious germ such as that can lead to many reactions. For example, the visitor could
possibly want to experiment with the cholera more, finding an interest in the science rather than the
destruction of it. Or perhaps, throwing up at the very grasp of the slim glass filled with the deadly
disease. This is what I believe leads to the bacteriologists experiment, which included details of the
cause and effect relationship between what would happen if cholera leaked into the

Essay On Discrimination And Discrimination
Discrimination and harassment in the workplace can come in many forms. However, Discrimination,
for the purpose of employment law, is any workplace action such as hiring, firing, demoting, and
promoting, based on a prejudice of some kind, that results in the unfair treatment of employees (Ali,
Yamada, Mahmood, 2015). With some distinguished exceptions, such as affirmative action,
discrimination is strictly prohibited by numerous federal laws (Ali, Yamada, Mahmood, 2015).
Nonetheless, there are three important laws that regulate discrimination in employment and they are:
Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967, and
Americans with Disabilities Act. Furthermore, there is a multitude of ... Show more content on

52). Next, The Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 (ADEA), protects certain applicants
and employees 40 years of age and older from discrimination on the basis of age in hiring, promotion,
discharge, compensation, or terms, conditions or privileges of employment. The ADEA is enforced by
the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). In enacting the ADEA, Congress purpose
was to promote employment of older persons based on their ability rather than age; to prohibit
arbitrary age discrimination in employment; and to help employers and workers find ways of meeting
problems arising from the impact of age on employment (Lewis, 2013, p. 272). Yet, when it comes to
making decisions about employees, the ADEA applies to all employers with twenty or more
employees, including federal, state, and local governments, and prohibits discrimination against a
person over the age of forty, because of his or her age with respect to any term, condition, or privilege
of employment, including hiring, firing, promoting, laying off, compensation, benefits, job
assignments, and training (Lewis, 2012, p. 273). Moreover, the third most important law is the
Americans with Disabilities Act. The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) and its
subsequent amendments in 2008 provided comprehensive protection against discrimination based on
actual or perceived disabilities. The ADA prohibits discrimination based on disability in

Network security has been instrumental in providing security to different types of networks. There are
various types of networks like LAN, WAN and MAN for which the security is provided in order to
protect them from various unethical activities. The network security has also grown with the recent
advances in technologies. It is also very flexible in terms of providing security to advance and new
platforms like cloud environment, virtual environment, wireless environment.
There have been recent innovations in protecting the most important resources of the network. More
advanced security technologies are employed on the network in order to take advance precautionary
measures to avoid various security threats. According to various situations companies adopt the

The Confederate Flag And Its Racist
One of the most trending topics in America right now is the Confederate Flag and whether or not it s
racist. 42 percent think the flag represent southern heritage and the other 42 percent think it s racist
and should be taken down. 75 percent believe it s racist and only one in ten will agree that it is
southern heritage. Depending on what region is asked about if it is racist, there are different answers.
The Midwest say it is racist and the south, of course, say it s not racist. A poll showed that African
Americans, Democrats, and the highly educated were more likely to perceive the flag negatively. The
Confederate States of America came into existence on February 4, 1861. It had six states at first and
they were the Deep South. Those states were South Carolina, Mississippi, Florida, Georgia, Alabama
and Louisiana. After April 1861 four upper south states joined. They were Virginia, North Carolina,
Tennessee, and Arkansas. They made they re own court system and congress. It reflected a lot of the
American government. The confederate flag should be taken down because it is a symbol of hate,
rebellion and racism.
The first reason the Confederate flag should be taken down is because it is a symbol of hate. More
than 620,000 Americans lost their lives at the hands of other Americans. Nearly equal to the total
number of American deaths in all other wars combined. The fight for freedom for enslaved Black
Americans, or for the Confederates of the South, the fight against

record; if you get a traffic ticket you points can go up. Tickets for speeding, parking tickets, not using
turn signals, parking in handicapped spots, reckless driving, DUI, DWI, driving on a suspended
license, driving without a license or drag racing can all make your points go up. You can receive one
point for less severe traffic violations including speeding, running a red light, not using turn signals or
getting into an accident that was your fault. You can receive two points for reckless driving, causing
injury due to reckless driving, DUI, hit and run, driving in the wrong direction, driving with a

Upon completion of traffic school your points will be dismissed and your ticket is considered
resolved. Often times traffic school can even be done online. There is a fee for the driving school and
it is typically the same amount as the fine. Unfortunately you cannot be considered for traffic school if
your violation is a misdemeanor, if it is because of traffic tickets, if it involved any alcohol or drugs, if
you must appear in court, if you were driving a commercial vehicle, and if you have a commercial
driver s license. Types of infractions include parking where you aren t supposed including red zones
and handicapped space, running a red light, turning illegally, not stopping at a stop sign, changing
lanes with no signal, using the carpool lane with no passengers, no headlights when driving at night,
and hitting another vehicle. You can attend traffic school if you hold a valid driver s license and if you
are eligible by the courts to attend driving school you will receive a notice in the mail with the details.
If you ve been have a traffic ticket that is causing your points to go up, causing your insurance
company to potentially drop you or causing your license to go suspended you should hire a traffic

New Paths Of The United Kingdom And London
New Paths
We decided to head over to the United Kingdom and London in particular wanting to take her on the
Millennium Wheel. I ve always wanted to go on it but had no one to accompany me. Now I have and
Lie Lyn is a part of me, so we will experience it together.
The flight was uneventful, and we arrived on time, but best of all my powers were under control and
there was no feeling of anything else happening. I thought to myself maybe this is it; I could relax and
enjoy my time with Lie Lyn. If only that had been the case but fate had other things in store for me
and Lie Lyn.
We headed to the most luxurious hotel in London as I want to let Lie Lyn get pampered. The evening

I turned myself and looked out over the city knowing things might not last so I needed to ensure the
tonight was for her. I put my arms around her and pulled her to me as I turned her around facing me.
Kissing her like there was never would be a tomorrow as a shiver ran down my back.
Come let s get back to our hotel as I need you more than anything else. I could see she knew
something was not right, but for the moment she saw I needed her. That night I held her so much she
was worrying, and I had to force myself to let her go. The morning came with rain so I asked if it
would be all right if we left and went over to France as I wanted to show her the Eifel Tower. Then the
feeling came on me again as I sat down and let it wash over me. All Lie Lyn could do was hold me as I
just sat and stared into space.
My mind was awash with fantastic light displays that only I can see, then she was there beside me and
I felt her love wash over me. This helped me gain control of my mind and she led me back to reality.
We sat there for hours as I tried to keep my mind at bay as it wanted control.
Your powers are getting stronger and soon you will struggle to keep control. You must use all the
controls you have learned to keep what is happening in your mind held. If you can keep control you ll
get stronger and be able to over rule your subconscious. That s what s causing the confusion you re
having.

During my investigation I had a difficult time finding sources for my question. At the beginning of my

did this because I intended to base my research on the question ; What was the change in visual art
from the Roaring 20 s and the Great Depression in the United States? . After finding information of
the question, I realized that my question was mostly about the history of art and I could not go into

Why Is Charlemagne Important
Charlemagne was born in Ingeleim April 2, 742. His death was on the date of January 8, in either year
813 or 814. The exact year is unknown. He died in Aix la Chapelle. He married a woman named
Hildegrade, and later had a child with her. Their daughter was born on April 30, 783. Charlemagne
inherited a few things from his brother and father. They included a military organization, wealth, and
power. (Charlemagne.org)
Charlemagne was known as a strong king, and led the Franks to creating an empire of greatness. He
went into battle, conquering many neighboring kingdoms. The kingdoms included were France,
Northern Spain, Austria, and Italy. It is also said he was a great warrior, most of his time was spent at
war. He was later crowned by Pope Leo the third, to be the new emperor of the Romans though at first
he did not agree to it. (text book and notes.)
He was called Charles the great by many. This man built schools through out the whole empire
because he admired education. Scholars were brought with him to influence and teach his people
about religious and social life. He was important in history because he was a big part of the spread of
Christianity. (Notes) He was a promoter of civilization in the age of darkness. Before Charlemagne

The Toyota Tundra is a full size truck and a late arrival to a segment dominated by Detroit s three
manufacturers. Introduced in 2000, the original model came in smaller than its competitors, before
Toyota resized the truck to give it a more competitive advantage. 2014 to Present Upon the truck s
release, Toyota said that the 2014 model represented the next generation of its full size pickup truck.
Some contend that the model is merely a refresh, as the truck underwent mostly cosmetic, interior and
technology changes while its footprint and powertrain choices remain unchanged. For the sake of
clarity and to avoid confusion, we ll consider the current models as third generation Tundras. For

Tundra as it assumed a footprint equaling trucks from GM, Ford and Chrysler. Toyota also responded
to the release of the Nissan Titan just three years earlier. Engine choices for the 2007 to 2009 Tundras

The Positive Importance Of The Halo Effect
Managers or coaches should know that sometimes their expectations can be formed by the Halo effect
(a psychological phenomenon that allows a general opinion of someone, to be gathered from only one
element). Despite the fact that influence of the Halo effect, as well as any other perceptual effect, can
have both negative and positive consequences, initial elimination of them will do managers more
objective. The race, gender, age, educational level and class biases, which are rooted in stereotypes,
also, influence the level of expectations that leaders have for employees.
Another factor that has its influence on the result of this conception is employees acceptance or
resistance. People tend to respond positively to a manager s high expectations and confidence in their
abilities. Although, some employees are resistant to the Pygmalion effect, especially, when they
receive biased feedback. Of course, this doesn t mean that managers should always seek for employee
s acceptance. Careful consideration of target personality and a possibility of resistance can alter
employee s behaviour and trigger powerful effects. Some employees, particularly with a strong sense
of their own, often strive to disprove inaccurate/unappealing expectations by inspiring imaginative and
creative thinking. As usual, this happens when targeted employees are to discount negative
expectations and use other sources such as from peers or other co workers to form their perceptions of
how competent or

Jim Crow Reflection
Reflective Essay Some things never change would say an adult after seeing something that reminds
them of the ol days. It s like a wave of nostalgia when they see the younger generation going through
similar things like kids selling lemonade on the sidewalk, teenagers preparing for their prom, or adults
pimpin out their lowriders and 1955 Chevy Bel Air cars. It s all good memories until they dig deeper
into the good ol days and uncover some of the ugly truths that lay hidden. It s also about recognizing
that the Jim Crow laws existed and how discriminatory they were to the African American community.
Today in age it seems like nothing has changed because the discrimination hasn t gone anywhere, but
it s making an especially big comeback with today s mass incarceration. In chapter 5 of the book: The
New Jim Crow by Michelle Alexander, she talks about the similarities and differences between the
Jim Crow era and today s mass incarceration. She starts off with a hook, a reality that goes unnoticed.
Alexander brings up the idea that everyone talks about how African American fathers are never
present in their families lives or there isn t a good population balance between the men and women.
The truth is most are incarcerated and can t get out for a long time. She goes on to explain it s not
entirely their fault they get locked up for, sometimes, reasons like discrimination. Their side of the
story goes unnoticed because the media doesn t cover this fact; it isn t shared

John Davis Life Extension Essay
In Is It Unjust to Develop Life Extension if It Will Not Be Possible to Provide It to Everyone? , John
Davis argues on the fact on whether or not we should develop life extension if it won t bet fairly
distributed amongst our society. Davis believes that the rich will most likely have access to life
extension before the poor, which creates the issue of unequal access to life extension. In this essay, I
will be siding with Davis argument, as there should be no reason to develop and research life
extension if we cannot make it available to everyone at once.
John Davis believes that life extension would be too expensive to those who cannot afford it when it
comes to repayment. In addition, Davis also states that being excluded from life extension ... Show

In this case, I would have to stand with Davis support in delaying life extension, as it will take a long
period of time to develop and allocate life extension around the world equally. Being able to take
advantage of life extension would lead us into to the inability to repay the efforts that were put into
researching and developing life extension. For example, if we were able to take out a loan for life
extension, then the time in life we have to repay for life extension would also increase. Life extension
would also worsen our death, then it would better our death, as we are harmed comparatively on
impending death. When you anticipate your future death to be in your early nineties, it may not sound
as bad when there is no life extension available, but when you see a wealthy person live into their
hundreds with life extension, it will make your death sound worse off if you died in your nineties. We
have to delay the development and access to life extension until we can find a way to distribute life
extension evenly between the have and have nots in our society. For example, the cost of technology
in our world becomes cheaper overtime when there are competitors who developing the same

Charles Darwin And Evolution Of Humans

Charles Darwin
(Intro)
A man named Charles Darwin forever changed the world, especially within western civilizations. The
idea of how humans and animals came to be was very confusing and there was no set reason of this.
People forever wondered how they came to be on this planet. Many different ideas and theories were
made, but there was no scientific reasoning on exactly the way humans and animals are here. Today,
the theory is still in debate. It is possible that in the future someone may be able to figure it out, but it
is also possible that it will be a mystery forever. One major belief in how humans and animals came to
be was all changed through the theory of Charles Darwin and evolution through natural selection. His
theory states that all life is related and has descended from a common ancestor and that natural
selection brings upon evolution. Although it may or may not be the exact reason of how humans and
animals came to be, it gave a huge sense of explanation of one idea that changed western civilization
greatly. Because of his theory, Darwin has changed everyone s thoughts on life, (2nd argument),
biology, religion, and society. FIX LATER WHEN DONE. Darwin can be seen as an individual who
has changed western civilization.
(Background Information) Darwin was born on February 12th 1809. He later passed away 73 years
away on April 19th 1882, due to heart failure. Born in a small English town called Shrewsbury, he was

Compare And Contrast The Three Modes Of Dynamometry
The three modes of dynamometry are isometric, isoinertial, and isokinetic. Dynamometry is a
measurement of force/power, where strength is the ability to produce force. Direct measurements of
individual muscle forces are difficult to do and therefore, during an isometric contraction (producing a
force without lengthening of the muscle) is measured by pushing the limb onto a gauge and then
producing maximum force of the muscle against the immovable gauge. This form of contraction is
safe because there is no external force added to the muscle for it to push against/lift, and therefore, the
contraction is performed, without lengthening of the muscle, with zero load. Similarly, the muscle will
fatigue to failure before damage occurs to the muscle, making it a safe test. This test ... Show more

For example, squats with a resistance band mimics the sitting to standing motion with a greater mass,
thereby causing you to create a greater force/power output to stand up. Isoinertial testing is used in
sports that involve acceleration and deceleration of a constant mass around the joints, such as
resistance training/weight lifting. Weight lifting involves the acceleration and deceleration of a
constant mass and is safe because if the weight is to heavy, the body will strain to lift it and be unable
to accomplish it. Similarly, if the weight is too light then the body will easily be able to lift it. Since
weight lifting is done in incremental stages by adding small weights to their already accomplished
weights, the lifter is mostly safe in this way. This form is testing is also practical for a sport such as
tennis because lifting the weights on a pulley through the racket motion can determine how forceful
your swing is and train those muscles to be more forceful. Isoinertial testing is a reliable and valid
form of testing because the body can only lift and pull so much weight through a motion before it can
no longer lift

Adverts R Us Analysis
I will begin with the commentary Advertisements R Us , by Melissa Rubin. I agree, somewhat, that
advertising is a way to hook the consumers. Of course, that is how they expect to sell their product.
When a company wants to market their product, they will advertise it to appeal to a variety of
consumers. They will try to convince the consumers that they must have the product they are
marketing. I do agree with the writer that maybe at some point in time, marketing a product was
geared towards specific types of consumers. Perhaps, those consumers may have been the only type of
people that could afford to spend the money to purchase the product that was being marketed. Back in
those days, having a Coca Cola was a luxury, and most households only had one income. Now a days,
it is fair game for everyone because we have a more diverse community. More jobs are available to all
races and genders, and two income households are now necessary to make ends meet. According to
the writer in the commentary, it sounds like the advertisement was somewhat partial. It does not
appear to have people from other ethnic groups. I cannot imagine that Coca Cola would intentionally
leave out specific types of people since they were a popular manufacturer in those days, of course, that
is just my opinion. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

it will not rain but it does and Jody is disappointed in Billy for being incorrect.
Mood: A mood from The Red Pony is overwhelmed because after the death of Nellie or Gabilan Jody
was both sad and mad but his mother and Billy could feel he was overwhelmed.
Tone: The tone was gloomy but in some parts inspiring. Some examples where when Nellie gave birth
her child was healthy but she had died for it to happen.
Irony: One use of irony is symbolism the mountains symbolize barriers and the indents symbolize
rough paths which is ironic because in this story Jody goes through many rough times and rocky
roads.
Imagery: In the grey quiet mornings when the land and the brush and the houses and the trees were
silver gray and black like a photograph negative, he stole toward the barn past the sleeping stones and
the sleeping cypress tree this quote shows imagery as I can picture the field and everything in it.
Symbolism: The triangle in this book symbolizes the power of the women which connects to how it is
used because the women ring the triangle for everyone to come to the house and having

Douglas Johnson s Use Of Rhetorical Techniques In My Writing
These essays perform extremely well in multiple areas of writing, such as their control of prose, their
explanations of the effects of the rhetorical techniques and why the rhetorical techniques were chosen
in the first place. For example, in essay 3, the author explicitly describes how Douglas Johnson
appeals to the reader s emotions by writing that his technique makes the reader draw a parallel
between himself or herself and the embryo that emphasized how every human begins life. The author
of the essay then goes on to explain why this was technique was chosen and connects it back to the
purpose which reminds the reader of the essay s argument. Additionally, these essays are structured in
the organized MEL con format, creating cohesiveness within their arguments and an overall flow to
their writing. Overall, these essays succeed in rhetorically analyzing and tying together Mary Shelley s
Frankenstein and the articles on stem cell research. While the authors of these essays execute
remarkable examples of rhetorical analyses, I myself could definitely improve on my own essays. For
instance, my writing can be vague, especially when explaining how the rhetorical ... Show more

For one, the cohesiveness that they achieved through the structure of their paragraph is something I
greatly admire, so I would be sure to emulate that in my own paragraph. As previously stated, I would
also make sure that the how in my paragraph is explicit and tie that seamlessly into the why.
Additionally, I think it s incredibly important to tie everything back to the purpose and expand beyond
that. Expansion to society can greatly improve the score of an essay, but making the expansion
relevant is imperative. In brief, I would take a lot of writing tips from the student examples and
incorporate them into my own body

Catastrophism And Uniformitarianism In Dating Earth
There can be many different views when we define the words of catastrophism and uniformitarianism.
They can be seen in many diverse ways from person to person. In the article Dating Earth, it
mentioned the background of the concept of uniformitarianism and catastrophism. People who had
biblical views were considered catastrophists and were known scientists who invoked supernatural
causes. Uniformitarianism is a concept that is viewed as gradual constant change, or no change at all.
This view can be debatable with catastrophism which is sudden or immediate change because a small
change over time that seems so constant can feel sudden at the same time. It depends how you view it
and see the picture in our histories time lapse. When we define constant we view it as a nice even
flow, but sometimes the flow can be higher at times and lower which can equal to the even gradual
concept of uniformitarianism while it can be viewed as a catastrophic event too because if we think
about the butterfly effect that small sudden change can be so unique and make big changes even
though it seemed small and equal like uniformitarianism. The Butterfly Effect mentioned how Lorenz
made a small change to his systems of equations which proved to be catastrophic even though the
numbers seemed very small to even make a difference. When we view uniformitarianism and
catastrophism they can both be true in context, but if you view it in a diverse way to include the small
changes uniformitarianism can

The Article Why Students Hate School Lunch By Kate Murphy
Every weekday in America millions of kids and teens line up in their schools to buy a lunch. Many of
those students buying lunch typically do not even enjoy what they are given. The article Why Students
Hate School Lunch by Kate Murphy argues about why students are wasting much if their meals due to
recent health changes whereas the article Why Some Schools Are Saying No Thanks to the School
Lunch Program by Alexandra Sifferlin argues on why schools are dropping the new health programs
because students are wasting food or not buying at all. Looking at both articles they both question and
argue why schools and students are not satisfied with the Healthy Hunger Free Act of 2012. This act is
causing students to not eat school lunches and money to be wasted. Both articles argue against the
Healthy Hunger Free Kids Act but the difference between the two articles explain is that one argues a
student s opinion versus the other that explains the economic effect it takes on schools.
In Murphy s article she argues how students are not satisfied with these changes over the past few
years. She argues how students are wasting their food and money due to the Health, Hunger Free Act.
Food and nutrition directors at school districts nationwide say that their trash cans are overflowing
while their cash register receipts are diminishing as children either toss out the healthier meals or opt
to brown bag it. ( Murphy, She argues how this act causes students waste most of their lunches

The Importance Of Globalization And Transnational Literatures
Globalization and transnational interconnections between nations economies, the flow of people,
goods, and ideas have sparked a wake of scholarship and ethnographies that seek to record these rapid
changes. Globalization is transforming previously isolated communities into transnational
communities; these interconnections gain the attention of scholars that concentrate on studying the
materialist impact of globalization or immigration in relation to the binary between developed and
developing nations. However, these scholars tend to lose sight of the people caught up in these rapid
changes and due to the lack of non hegemonic narratives the experiences of multiple communities are
disregarded (Chavez 2013 ). For example, researchers tend to be greatly interested in the economic
roles that migrants play in these transnational exchanges, when this is important, it is a misfortune that
researchers neglect to raise awareness on the sociocultural aspects of these communities like their
complex and dynamic identity journeys and identity formations (Simich 2009). Addressing this lack of
concentration on more social aspects of historically underrepresented communities, authors from these
communities use transnational literature as a tool to communicate their experiences while seeking to
generate political consciousness in their audience (Dirlik 2002:355 217).
Furthermore, the historian Arif Dirlik merges into conversation the usage of literature to represent

Summary Of The UF SOTD And Tilted Windmills
The UF SOTD and Tilted Windmills Theatricals did a remarkable job at presenting The Magnificent
Revengers by Matt Cox. The production uniquely presented the play by allowing the audience to
interact actively through technology. The technology used in the production made the play
unpredictable and entertaining. Nicole Cannon s fluid acting, Director Kristin McCarthy Parker s
casting and blocking choices, and Set Designer Colton Spurlock s set arrangements are key
components that contributed to the success of the production. Nicole Cannon did a spectacular job at
playing the role of Dorothy Kelly in the production through her effective dialogue delivery and body
language. At the beginning of the show, she said her lines in an uncertain and doubtful manner. For
instance, she stuttered and paused many times when she talked to Jonny Triumph (as John Kelly) and
tried to convince him that she may not be the right person to take his revenge. Through this
uncertainty in her tone, she displayed the innocent and unworldly aspect of Dorothy Kelly. As the
show was nearing the climax, she successfully displayed confidence and hunger for revenge in her
voice by speaking louder and with boldness. Through the confidence in her voice, she portrayed
another aspect of Dorothy Kelly; one that was desperate to take her brother s revenge and save her
town. Her body language was also effective in displaying the different emotional states of her
character. For instance, when she was dueling with Thiago Palma (as Mozie Thompson) and was
deciding whether to shoot him or not, she shook her hands steadily while holding the trigger and
twitched her eyes constantly to show anxiousness and hesitancy that Dorothy felt within her. Cannon
also fluidly transitioned between different body movements to make her acting realistic. She
particularly displayed this fluidity in the camping scene when she talked to Katherine Haeuser (as
Mysterious stranger). At first, she sat down with her legs crossed and then she slowly transitioned
towards the sleeping position. She did this so smoothly that it did not appear forced or instantaneous.
Moreover, Director Kristin McCarthy Parker s casting and blocking choices also contributed to the
success of the

At its core, Pinterest is a form of social media specializing in the organization of images onto online
boards for those who wish to share their findings or remember what they have discovered. As the
name suggests, users take images that interest them and pin them to personalized boards they create.
While Pinterest originally became famous for sharing things like recipes, arts and crafts, and
photography, it has developed further into an image oriented advertising like media outlet, which
allows users to trace an idea to other websites beyond Pinterest. The purpose of this evaluation is to

to discover new methods for using IWB activities in the classroom that go beyond the typical use of a
projector or normal whiteboard. For example, within the 10 Ways to use your Interactive Whiteboard
post, teachers are encouraged to use the IWB as a way to take attendance children walk into class or
using Powerpoint games to appeal to students kinesthetic learning needs. In Interactive Whiteboard
Success Tips, Natalie Lorenzi encourages teachers to utilize distance learning to allow the teacher to
roam around the classroom instead of being stuck at the front by their desk; students can also
manipulate the IWB activity from a distance to avoid having a whole class full of students trying to

How Is Bilbo A Hero
Many authors communicate to the reader through fictional stories known as myths. These myths, set
in a fictional place or time, are able to identify problems with society today. The popular novel The
Hobbit is a great example of a myth criticizing society today. Although it takes place in a fantasy land
and has creatures that do not exist, it criticizes how we as humans should live our lives as well as
telling us what it means to be a hero. The Hobbit tells us that we should take risks and experience new
paths to make us have a better character. A hobbit is a peaceful creature that likes to live in holes in the
ground; not dirty ones, but clean and organized ones. Bilbo was a common hobbit from the Bagginses

Zombie banks
What are zombie banks
The term zombie bank was first introduced by Edward Kane in 1987 to describe a bank that has a
negative net worth but still continues to operate. A negative net worth means that the fair value of
assets is lower than the total value of liabilities. Zombie banks usually have large amounts of non
performing assets on their balance sheets making them unprofitable. A loan is considered to be a non
performing asset if no principal payments or interest have been paid for 90 days and is therefore seen
to be in jeopardy of default. The fair value of an asset that is considered non performing is
considerably reduced. Zombie banks usually continue to operate until their financial situation is

Provide early treatment, including access to drug treatment and rehabilitation programs. Reduce risk
of the client re offending. The Bail support program also aids an accused person that would otherwise
be remanded in custody to be granted bail and to remain on bail to satisfy the conditions of their bail.
A decrease of relevant services to aid youth to gain bail and meet the conditions has been noted as
possibly contributing towards the large number of youth on custodial remand, mainly for the
indigenous community and younger people who reside in more remote and regional areas.
Because of this the provision aid in finishing bail orders can partake a critical role in decreasing rates
of custodial remand. The bail Support programs are mainly aimed at the youth or adults, to distinguish

Paragraph 3: Japan s immigration problems
Since the opening of Japan from its self imposed seclusion policy in 1854, scholars have studied
aboard to acquire Western teachings. The immigration problem manifested once Japanese started
immigrating to Hawaii, Canada and US motivated by economic gains and evasion of military services.
In the year 1900 alone, 12000 Japanese entered United States and by 1910 the population trebled to a
total of 72,517. Although this bought a solution to their demand of cheap labour, another set of
problems arise in the form of economic, racial and anti Japanese agitation. Examples included would
be San Francisco School Board implemented segregation of education school between Japanese and
American children, and California legislature passing offensive legislation aiming at Japanese .
This background knowledge is coherent in identifying the social problems such as a race problem and
contest is forecasted if nothing is done to keep them out. He understands that his people will not
permit the Japanese to come in as citizens and will not tolerate their presences. US experienced
widespread anti Japanese sentiments and this is supported from evidence that Roosevelt received
insults such as an unpatriotic President, who united with aliens to break down the civilization of his

Bob is a male nickname or occasionally a given name, most common in English speaking countries
such as the United States, Canada, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand. It most
likely originated from the nickname Rob, short for Robert. Rhyming names were popular in the
Middle Ages, so Richard became Rick, Hick, or Dick, William became Will or Bill, and Robert
became Rob, Hob, Dob, Nob, or Bob.[1][2]
While it is impossible to count the popularity of Bob as a nickname, in 1960 nearly 3,000 babies in the
United States were given the name Bob compared to fewer than 50 in 2000.[3]

Coleridge s The Rime Of The Ancyent Marinere
In The Rime of the Ancyent Marinere by Samuel Coleridge, the Marinere attains a change of mindset
about the sea snakes he encounters on his journey. This moment is more than a shift from the disliking
to affinity of an animal; the juncture echoes a larger change within the Marinere. When one views the
incident in conjunction with the concept of seeing from Carlos Castaneda s novel, A Separate Reality,
one can discover that the Marinere completes the act of seeing. This triumph shows that sentimentality
is a dominate trait in the Marinere s personality. Something one could overlook because of his deed of
shooting the Albatross. The Marinere s ability to see creates a shift in perspective regarding the sea
snakes, which reflects the larger change of the Marinere s view, which is that all beings in the world
are equal and beautiful.
The Marinere s thoughts of the sea snakes reflect how he regards his situation. The Mariner s first
view of the sea snakes is a contemptful one, which forms because of his overall despair of being the

Anne Bradstreet Influence
Anne was the first poet of America. Her writing style reflected things and events that occurred during
her lifetime. For her, writing poetry was an outlet for stress being that she was a Puritan and they did

she processed the events around her. A lot of her poetry is sad and somber. Being that she is a Puritan
she has a lot of biblical references in her poems. In The Flesh and the Spirit Anne takes these two
objects and personifies them. She created an environment Where the Flesh and the Spirit where two
sisters arguing, Spirit says, Sisters are we, yea, twins we be, yet deadly feud twixt thee and me; for
one father are we not, thou by old Adam wast begot, (223) she tells the sister that their feud has not
been resolved. Flesh took interest with earthly things while Spirit indulged in meditating and trying to
get to heaven. Sprit mentions the old Adam part because the Puritans thought that man lost to sin after
the fall of old Adam but then man was redeemed when Jesus was sacrificed. ... Show more content on

she notes that those were God s possessions and not hers. Though she says this at the end of the poem
she lets readers know that she has not reconciled with her loss of possessions. Though it seems like
she submitted to God, she stills feel sorrow because of her house burning down. Though Bradstreet is
a Puritan and she has not lost her faith it does revel that she does have some emotion attachment to
earthly things. It just makes her have to be active in her faith so that she can make it to

  • 2. A Concept Analysis On Compassion Fatigue I. Background and Significance II. Meaning in Published Works III. Purpose The purpose of conducting a concept analysis is to divide the components of a concept into separate individual parts for evaluation and clarification. Analysis of the internal structure, defining aspects, characteristics and interrelationships to the other components can be achieved by conducting a concept analysis. The basic purpose is a process to discover the similarities and differences between concepts (Walker Avant, 2005). The intent of the concept analysis on the subject of compassion fatigue is to evaluate compassion fatigue in nursing and to determine the current conceptual use in efforts to clarify the relevance to nurses. The aim is to identify how the concept is currently utilized and how it could potentially be utilized in the future. IV. Definitions and Defining Attributes A. Compassion fatigue in nursing is defined as the resultant distress and physical experiences that occur when continuously caring for others, usually in highly stressful situations (Sheppard, 2015). Burnout and secondary traumatic stress disorder are terms identified in the literature as having affiliations with compassion fatigue. Burnout is a physical and mental exhaustion that occurs as a gradual result of working in hostile and demanding environments or under stress. Secondary traumatic stress disorder is a traumatic reaction that occurs due to witnessing the suffering of others (Hinderer et al., 2014). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, Discrimination, for the purpose of employment law, is any workplace action such as hiring, firing, demoting, and promoting, based on a prejudice of some kind, that results in the unfair treatment of employees (Ali, Yamada, Mahmood, 2015). With some distinguished exceptions, such as affirmative action, discrimination is strictly prohibited by numerous federal laws (Ali, Yamada, Mahmood, 2015). In enacting the ADEA, Congress purpose was to promote employment of older persons based on their ability rather than age; to prohibit arbitrary age discrimination in employment; and to help employers and workers find ways of meeting problems arising from the impact of age on employment (Lewis, 2013, p. 272). • 12. The Positive Importance Of The Halo Effect Managers or coaches should know that sometimes their expectations can be formed by the Halo effect (a psychological phenomenon that allows a general opinion of someone, to be gathered from only one element). Despite the fact that influence of the Halo effect, as well as any other perceptual effect, can have both negative and positive consequences, initial elimination of them will do managers more objective. The race, gender, age, educational level and class biases, which are rooted in stereotypes, also, influence the level of expectations that leaders have for employees. Another factor that has its influence on the result of this conception is employees acceptance or resistance. People tend to respond positively to a manager s high expectations and confidence in their abilities. Although, some employees are resistant to the Pygmalion effect, especially, when they receive biased feedback. Of course, this doesn t mean that managers should always seek for employee s acceptance. Careful consideration of target personality and a possibility of resistance can alter employee s behaviour and trigger powerful effects. Some employees, particularly with a strong sense of their own, often strive to disprove inaccurate/unappealing expectations by inspiring imaginative and creative thinking. As usual, this happens when targeted employees are to discount negative expectations and use other sources such as from peers or other co workers to form their perceptions of how competent or ... Davis believes that the rich will most likely have access to life extension before the poor, which creates the issue of unequal access to life extension. In this essay, I will be siding with Davis argument, as there should be no reason to develop and research life extension if we cannot make it available to everyone at once. John Davis believes that life extension would be too expensive to those who cannot afford it when it comes to repayment. In addition, Davis also states that being excluded from life extension ... In this case, I would have to stand with Davis support in delaying life extension, as it will take a long period of time to develop and allocate life extension around the world equally. Being able to take advantage of life extension would lead us into to the inability to repay the efforts that were put into researching and developing life extension. For example, if we were able to take out a loan for life extension, then the time in life we have to repay for life extension would also increase. Life extension would also worsen our death, then it would better our death, as we are harmed comparatively on impending death. When you anticipate your future death to be in your early nineties, it may not sound as bad when there is no life extension available, but when you see a wealthy person live into their hundreds with life extension, it will make your death sound worse off if you died in your nineties. • 15. Charles Darwin And Evolution Of Humans Tiger Sikka Mr. Pimentel WCIV H May 4th 2015 Charles Darwin (Intro) A man named Charles Darwin forever changed the world, especially within western civilizations. The idea of how humans and animals came to be was very confusing and there was no set reason of this. People forever wondered how they came to be on this planet. Many different ideas and theories were made, but there was no scientific reasoning on exactly the way humans and animals are here. Today, the theory is still in debate. It is possible that in the future someone may be able to figure it out, but it is also possible that it will be a mystery forever. One major belief in how humans and animals came to be was all changed through the theory of Charles Darwin and evolution through natural selection. His theory states that all life is related and has descended from a common ancestor and that natural selection brings upon evolution. Although it may or may not be the exact reason of how humans and animals came to be, it gave a huge sense of explanation of one idea that changed western civilization greatly. Because of his theory, Darwin has changed everyone s thoughts on life, (2nd argument), biology, religion, and society. FIX LATER WHEN DONE. • 16. Compare And Contrast The Three Modes Of Dynamometry The three modes of dynamometry are isometric, isoinertial, and isokinetic. Dynamometry is a measurement of force/power, where strength is the ability to produce force. Direct measurements of individual muscle forces are difficult to do and therefore, during an isometric contraction (producing a force without lengthening of the muscle) is measured by pushing the limb onto a gauge and then producing maximum force of the muscle against the immovable gauge. This form of contraction is safe because there is no external force added to the muscle for it to push against/lift, and therefore, the contraction is performed, without lengthening of the muscle, with zero load. Similarly, the muscle will fatigue to failure before damage occurs to the muscle, making it a safe test. This test ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Isoinertial testing is used in sports that involve acceleration and deceleration of a constant mass around the joints, such as resistance training/weight lifting. Weight lifting involves the acceleration and deceleration of a constant mass and is safe because if the weight is to heavy, the body will strain to lift it and be unable to accomplish it. Similarly, if the weight is too light then the body will easily be able to lift it. Since weight lifting is done in incremental stages by adding small weights to their already accomplished weights, the lifter is mostly safe in this way. This form is testing is also practical for a sport such as tennis because lifting the weights on a pulley through the racket motion can determine how forceful your swing is and train those muscles to be more forceful. Of course, that is how they expect to sell their product. When a company wants to market their product, they will advertise it to appeal to a variety of consumers. They will try to convince the consumers that they must have the product they are marketing. I do agree with the writer that maybe at some point in time, marketing a product was geared towards specific types of consumers. Perhaps, those consumers may have been the only type of people that could afford to spend the money to purchase the product that was being marketed. For example, in essay 3, the author explicitly describes how Douglas Johnson appeals to the reader s emotions by writing that his technique makes the reader draw a parallel between himself or herself and the embryo that emphasized how every human begins life. The author of the essay then goes on to explain why this was technique was chosen and connects it back to the purpose which reminds the reader of the essay s argument. Additionally, these essays are structured in the organized MEL con format, creating cohesiveness within their arguments and an overall flow to their writing. • 22. Catastrophism And Uniformitarianism In Dating Earth There can be many different views when we define the words of catastrophism and uniformitarianism. They can be seen in many diverse ways from person to person. In the article Dating Earth, it mentioned the background of the concept of uniformitarianism and catastrophism. People who had biblical views were considered catastrophists and were known scientists who invoked supernatural causes. Uniformitarianism is a concept that is viewed as gradual constant change, or no change at all. This view can be debatable with catastrophism which is sudden or immediate change because a small change over time that seems so constant can feel sudden at the same time. It depends how you view it and see the picture in our histories time lapse. When we define constant we view it as a nice even flow, but sometimes the flow can be higher at times and lower which can equal to the even gradual concept of uniformitarianism while it can be viewed as a catastrophic event too because if we think about the butterfly effect that small sudden change can be so unique and make big changes even though it seemed small and equal like uniformitarianism. The Butterfly Effect mentioned how Lorenz made a small change to his systems of equations which proved to be catastrophic even though the numbers seemed very small to even make a difference. When we view uniformitarianism and catastrophism they can both be true in context, but if you view it in a diverse way to include the small changes uniformitarianism can ... Many of those students buying lunch typically do not even enjoy what they are given. The article Why Students Hate School Lunch by Kate Murphy argues about why students are wasting much if their meals due to recent health changes whereas the article Why Some Schools Are Saying No Thanks to the School Lunch Program by Alexandra Sifferlin argues on why schools are dropping the new health programs because students are wasting food or not buying at all. Looking at both articles they both question and argue why schools and students are not satisfied with the Healthy Hunger Free Act of 2012. This act is causing students to not eat school lunches and money to be wasted. Both articles argue against the Healthy Hunger Free Kids Act but the difference between the two articles explain is that one argues a student s opinion versus the other that explains the economic effect it takes on schools. In Murphy s article she argues how students are not satisfied with these changes over the past few years. She argues how students are wasting their food and money due to the Health, Hunger Free Act. • 24. The Importance Of Globalization And Transnational Literatures Globalization and transnational interconnections between nations economies, the flow of people, goods, and ideas have sparked a wake of scholarship and ethnographies that seek to record these rapid changes. Globalization is transforming previously isolated communities into transnational communities; these interconnections gain the attention of scholars that concentrate on studying the materialist impact of globalization or immigration in relation to the binary between developed and developing nations. However, these scholars tend to lose sight of the people caught up in these rapid changes and due to the lack of non hegemonic narratives the experiences of multiple communities are disregarded (Chavez 2013 ). For example, researchers tend to be greatly interested in the economic roles that migrants play in these transnational exchanges, when this is important, it is a misfortune that researchers neglect to raise awareness on the sociocultural aspects of these communities like their complex and dynamic identity journeys and identity formations (Simich 2009). Addressing this lack of concentration on more social aspects of historically underrepresented communities, authors from these communities use transnational literature as a tool to communicate their experiences while seeking to generate political consciousness in their audience (Dirlik 2002:355 217). Furthermore, the historian Arif Dirlik merges into conversation the usage of literature to represent transnational ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 25. Summary Of The UF SOTD And Tilted Windmills The UF SOTD and Tilted Windmills Theatricals did a remarkable job at presenting The Magnificent Revengers by Matt Cox. The production uniquely presented the play by allowing the audience to interact actively through technology. The technology used in the production made the play unpredictable and entertaining. Nicole Cannon s fluid acting, Director Kristin McCarthy Parker s casting and blocking choices, and Set Designer Colton Spurlock s set arrangements are key components that contributed to the success of the production. Nicole Cannon did a spectacular job at playing the role of Dorothy Kelly in the production through her effective dialogue delivery and body language. At the beginning of the show, she said her lines in an uncertain and doubtful manner. For instance, she stuttered and paused many times when she talked to Jonny Triumph (as John Kelly) and tried to convince him that she may not be the right person to take his revenge. Through this uncertainty in her tone, she displayed the innocent and unworldly aspect of Dorothy Kelly. As the show was nearing the climax, she successfully displayed confidence and hunger for revenge in her voice by speaking louder and with boldness. Through the confidence in her voice, she portrayed another aspect of Dorothy Kelly; one that was desperate to take her brother s revenge and save her town. Her body language was also effective in displaying the different emotional states of her character. For instance, when she was dueling with Thiago Palma (as Mozie Thompson) and was deciding whether to shoot him or not, she shook her hands steadily while holding the trigger and twitched her eyes constantly to show anxiousness and hesitancy that Dorothy felt within her. Cannon also fluidly transitioned between different body movements to make her acting realistic. She particularly displayed this fluidity in the camping scene when she talked to Katherine Haeuser (as Mysterious stranger). At first, she sat down with her legs crossed and then she slowly transitioned towards the sleeping position. She did this so smoothly that it did not appear forced or instantaneous. Moreover, Director Kristin McCarthy Parker s casting and blocking choices also contributed to the success of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Coleridge s The Rime Of The Ancyent Marinere In The Rime of the Ancyent Marinere by Samuel Coleridge, the Marinere attains a change of mindset about the sea snakes he encounters on his journey. This moment is more than a shift from the disliking to affinity of an animal; the juncture echoes a larger change within the Marinere. When one views the incident in conjunction with the concept of seeing from Carlos Castaneda s novel, A Separate Reality, one can discover that the Marinere completes the act of seeing. This triumph shows that sentimentality is a dominate trait in the Marinere s personality. Something one could overlook because of his deed of shooting the Albatross.
