4. Audience Research: Who watches music
videos/How do they watch them?
For Question 1, we can see that there were more women answering the
questions than men. We also can see from below that 68% of the answers
we received were between the ages of 17-20.
As we can see from above all of the people who answered this questionnaire watch music
videos. This is good feed back from us because it means that we can target a large group
of people instead of having to tighten our target audience level.
When looking over this question we cans see that 88% of these people watch music
videos on YouTube and 68% watch music videos on TV. This means that we would
need to advertise more on these two areas so that we can get people aware of our
music video.
With a percentage of 78%, we can see that POP would be the most popular
genre out of the lot. However, only only 32% stated that they like electronic,
this may be an issue because we wanted to create an electronic music video.
As we can see here most people stated that the song and artist interests them to watch the video.
However, the song we have decided to use doesn’t base its songs around the artist or song. So, to bring
in our audience we will need to create our music video to be interesting so that it would bring in an
audience.
As we are basing our music video on the genre of electronic, we decided to ask this question see
what people expected from this kind of video. Most people stated that they would want flashing
lights and dancing. This helps because it allows us to decide what we can include in our music
video.
