When asking our questionnaire to the
public we asked both males and
females. The aim of this was to see
whether both genders would enjoy
the content we will be creating. We
wanted to get both opinions to get a
variety of answers. As you can see by
the results we asked more females.
My group and I have analysed our
ideas and we believe that the plot is
more suited to girls. We have also
asked men to see if they would enjoy
the ideas we have included in the
questionnaire.

We also asked the public how old they
are. When creating our
questionnaire my group and I
wanted to see what kind of people
would like our ideas. Our target
audience aims to be for teenagers
and young adults but we wanted a
variety of choice. Most of the people
we asked ranged from 15-17 years
and 18-22 years old. We believe that
is the age range that will enjoy the
content most. We also asked
someone over the age of 23 aswell as
the others because we wanted to see
what kind of answers they gave.
With the feedback we received we
are going to take into consideration
what the public want in a music
video and include it in our own.

My group and I created this question to see what kind of music the
public enjoyed. We gave all of the options above to choose from
and they could pick as many as they want. From the results we
received it is noticeable that pop is the favourite type of music.
This is a good sign for our music video as the song we have chosen
(Icona Pop – I Love it) is a dance pop song.

We have chosen the question ‘what
type of music video do you like’ to get
an idea of what people like in a
music video. As everyone likes
different types of music its good to
use a variety of artists to receive a
fair result from the public. From the
results we received you can see that
artists like, Lady Gaga, Kesha,
Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry are
popular between many people. Using
these results my group and I are
going to be choosing a few selected
artists to analyse. By analysing the
music videos to artists it will give us
a better idea on what we want to
include in our own music video.
What Type of Effects Do you Like in a
Music Video?

In our questionnaire we have asked this with a variety of different effects to
choose from. These effects are ones that my group and I like and may want to
include in our music video. With the aid of the results we will be able to get a
better understanding of what people like when they watch a music video. As
you can see from the bar chart split screens, slow motion and text (lyrics) are
the popular effects between the public. We hope to be able to use these effects
when creating our music video.

When brainstorming ideas for my
group and I’s music video we
wanted to know what is best,
to have a storyline or not? We
included this in the
questionnaire to see what the
publics views are on
storylines/plots within a music
video. By looking at the results
we received people prefer when
there is a storyline to a music
video. Using this data we will
now be able to continue with
the storyline aspect in our
music video as it will make it
more enjoyable for the target
audience.

My group and I have an idea of using a montage edit for our music
video. A montage will need a lot of different scenes so we decided to
ask the public what there favourite locations would be to see in a
music video. From the data we collected you can see that central
London and a house party are the best ideas. With the aid of this
graph we will be using the results to help choose which locations we
should use in our music video.

This segment of the questionnaire was to find out whether people
liked the props my group and I thought of putting in our music
video. The 4 props listed above are some of our favourite ideas to
get the right atmosphere within our music video. As you can see
from the results neon face paint and bubbles were very popular
with the public. As we now know that the target audience like our
ideas for props we hope to include them in the music video.

refuses him. My group and I thought
this would give the video a comical
aspect to keep the mood light and
fun. We wanted to know the publics
opinions on this idea as some may
not find it funny. Overall by looking
at the results most people like the
idea of a comical side . Now my
group and I have seen that most of
our target audience will enjoy the
video we can continue with our
original idea.

When creating our questionnaire we
wanted to know whether people
would like how our music video is
going to be edited. As we want the
atmosphere of the video to be fun
and happy we want to show as many
scenes as possible. We would like to
use a montage with quick edits in as
much footage as possible. By looking
at he results it shows that most
people do like our idea. We can now
continue with this idea as we know
most of our target audience will
enjoy the content we are creating.

Audience Questionnaires Results

  • 2. What Gender are you? Male Female 42% 58% When asking our questionnaire to the public we asked both males and females. The aim of this was to see whether both genders would enjoy the content we will be creating. We wanted to get both opinions to get a variety of answers. As you can see by the results we asked more females. My group and I have analysed our ideas and we believe that the plot is more suited to girls. We have also asked men to see if they would enjoy the ideas we have included in the questionnaire.
  • 3. How old are you? 11 - 14 yrs 15 - 17 yrs 18 - 22 yrs 0% 8% 25% 67% 23 yrs + We also asked the public how old they are. When creating our questionnaire my group and I wanted to see what kind of people would like our ideas. Our target audience aims to be for teenagers and young adults but we wanted a variety of choice. Most of the people we asked ranged from 15-17 years and 18-22 years old. We believe that is the age range that will enjoy the content most. We also asked someone over the age of 23 aswell as the others because we wanted to see what kind of answers they gave. With the feedback we received we are going to take into consideration what the public want in a music video and include it in our own.

We gave all of the options above to choose from and they could pick as many as they want. From the results we received it is noticeable that pop is the favourite type of music. This is a good sign for our music video as the song we have chosen (Icona Pop – I Love it) is a dance pop song.

  • 6. We have chosen the question ‘what type of music video do you like’ to get an idea of what people like in a music video. As everyone likes different types of music its good to use a variety of artists to receive a fair result from the public. From the results we received you can see that artists like, Lady Gaga, Kesha, Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry are popular between many people. Using these results my group and I are going to be choosing a few selected artists to analyse. By analysing the music videos to artists it will give us a better idea on what we want to include in our own music video.
  • 7. What Type of Effects Do you Like in a Music Video? 12 10 8 6 4 2 0 In our questionnaire we have asked this with a variety of different effects to choose from. These effects are ones that my group and I like and may want to include in our music video. With the aid of the results we will be able to get a better understanding of what people like when they watch a music video. As you can see from the bar chart split screens, slow motion and text (lyrics) are the popular effects between the public. We hope to be able to use these effects when creating our music video.
  • 8. Do you like a Storyline/Plot within a Music Video? No 8% Yes 92% When brainstorming ideas for my group and I’s music video we wanted to know what is best, to have a storyline or not? We included this in the questionnaire to see what the publics views are on storylines/plots within a music video. By looking at the results we received people prefer when there is a storyline to a music video. Using this data we will now be able to continue with the storyline aspect in our music video as it will make it more enjoyable for the target audience.

A montage will need a lot of different scenes so we decided to ask the public what there favourite locations would be to see in a music video. From the data we collected you can see that central London and a house party are the best ideas. With the aid of this graph we will be using the results to help choose which locations we should use in our music video.

What Props do you think we should include? 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 0 Neon Face Paint Bikes Boat Bubbles This segment of the questionnaire was to find out whether people liked the props my group and I thought of putting in our music video. The 4 props listed above are some of our favourite ideas to get the right atmosphere within our music video. As you can see from the results neon face paint and bubbles were very popular with the public. As we now know that the target audience like our ideas for props we hope to include them in the music video.
  • 11. Do you like the ending idea where the boy is asking for the protagonist back but she refuses him? Do you like the The music we are creating is based on a comical aspect? No 17% Yes 83% girl breaking up with her boyfriend and not caring. By the end of the video the boy wants her back but she refuses him. My group and I thought this would give the video a comical aspect to keep the mood light and fun. We wanted to know the publics opinions on this idea as some may not find it funny. Overall by looking at the results most people like the idea of a comical side . Now my group and I have seen that most of our target audience will enjoy the video we can continue with our original idea.
  • 12. Do you like the idea of inclusion of montage with quick edits and scenes? No 8% Yes 92% When creating our questionnaire we wanted to know whether people would like how our music video is going to be edited. As we want the atmosphere of the video to be fun and happy we want to show as many scenes as possible. We would like to use a montage with quick edits in as much footage as possible. By looking at he results it shows that most people do like our idea. We can now continue with this idea as we know most of our target audience will enjoy the content we are creating.
