WHAT IS SOCIAL MEDIA ? 
• Social media is an umbrella term that defines the various 
activities that integrate technology,social,interaction and 
construction of words, pictures and audio. 
• It is an art of producing traffic to site for generating business 
through online social group. 
• It helps to build important business contact and run a reputed 
business on internet. 
• Social media marketing is used as a branding tool and can 
increase conversion, sales tracking, page views and add 
exposure. 
• It is simple and low cost way if increasing sales is the motive of 
the company.
THE TWO METHODS : 
“People as a brand” 
• Something which needs to be learned 
and executed. 
• Helps direct sales. 
For example : 
Ever imagined why apple made steve 
jobs the person who he was? 
The PR folks of apple made it happen . 
“ Company as a brand “ 
• A company itself is a brand. 
• Super Brand : 
Several sub brands clubbed together to form 
a common super brand. 
For example : 
Microsoft and colgate 
Colgate focuses on individual brands whereas 
Microsoft promote their company.
FACEBOOK AND LINKEDIN: 
LinkedIn 
• Even if you do nothing on LinkedIn as a 
day to day function, the profile of the 
leader has to be completely filled. 
• Anyone interested in the leaders profile 
they might view and do the needful. 
Facebook 
• Build a page for the leader. 
• Focus on promoting thoughts, talk about 
industry issues and more. 
• Back the content with good creative 
content. 
• If the content is a presentation or a video 
provide links. 
• Promote the page and build a community 
around the person. 
• Keep engaging with the community but 
don’t respond
TWITTER AND QUORA : 
Twitter 
• Twitter is more important, make it 
branded with the company logo and 
colours. 
• Have a good image of the leader and a 
well filled bio of him or her. 
• Post occasional updates. 
• Make sure all messages are attended. 
Quora 
• Find out the areas of interest of your 
leader. 
• Find relevant questions and send it to 
the leader. 
• Post answers to quoara.
BRANDS AND MORE BRANDS: 
• There are many brands in and around us. 
• A normal statistical data says a person comes across 5000 brands in a day. 
• How many people know “Unilever” has more number of shampoos in the market. 
• They have several brands like sunsilk,Head and shoulders,and dove. 
• Unilever has done this to create a separate identify for each sub brand.
HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR 
NETWORK? 
• Quora: 
Have an official company group.You may have group page for individual brands as well. 
• Blogs forum and company sites: 
While posting official views of the company on matters related to articles or questions, always use the company name and not the 
brand. 
• Facebook and twitter: 
Have a bigger community in the company’s name but still run product pages. 
• Youtube,Slideshare and scribd : 
You may just have one channel.Make it robust and huge. 
• Pinterest: 
Make different pin boards for different products. 
• linkedIn: 
I would suggest going for company groups and company level profiles for q&a.
ENDING THOUGHTS : 
• There are two ways of marketing : Kick ass or cover ass. 
• As a marketer you need to be aggressive.Give that feeling to the community,you are there to 
let people know what you stand for and what you have to offer ti the people.Be bold and 
kick ass. 
• You as a marketer will not be appreciated for not getting kicked.you will be judged by the 
number of asses u kicked.

WHAT IS SOCIAL MEDIA ? • Social media is an umbrella term that defines the various activities that integrate technology,social,interaction and construction of words, pictures and audio. • It is an art of producing traffic to site for generating business through online social group. • It helps to build important business contact and run a reputed business on internet. • Social media marketing is used as a branding tool and can increase conversion, sales tracking, page views and add exposure. • It is simple and low cost way if increasing sales is the motive of the company.
  • 4. THE TWO METHODS : “People as a brand” • Something which needs to be learned and executed. • Helps direct sales. For example : Ever imagined why apple made steve jobs the person who he was? The PR folks of apple made it happen . “ Company as a brand “ • A company itself is a brand. • Super Brand : Several sub brands clubbed together to form a common super brand. For example : Microsoft and colgate Colgate focuses on individual brands whereas Microsoft promote their company.

FACEBOOK AND LINKEDIN: LinkedIn • Even if you do nothing on LinkedIn as a day to day function, the profile of the leader has to be completely filled. • Anyone interested in the leaders profile they might view and do the needful. Facebook • Build a page for the leader. • Focus on promoting thoughts, talk about industry issues and more. • Back the content with good creative content. • If the content is a presentation or a video provide links. • Promote the page and build a community around the person. • Keep engaging with the community but don’t respond

TWITTER AND QUORA : Twitter • Twitter is more important, make it branded with the company logo and colours. • Have a good image of the leader and a well filled bio of him or her. • Post occasional updates. • Make sure all messages are attended. Quora • Find out the areas of interest of your leader. • Find relevant questions and send it to the leader. • Post answers to quoara.

BRANDS AND MORE BRANDS: • There are many brands in and around us. • A normal statistical data says a person comes across 5000 brands in a day. • How many people know “Unilever” has more number of shampoos in the market. • They have several brands like sunsilk,Head and shoulders,and dove. • Unilever has done this to create a separate identify for each sub brand.

HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR NETWORK? • Quora: Have an official company group.You may have group page for individual brands as well. • Blogs forum and company sites: While posting official views of the company on matters related to articles or questions, always use the company name and not the brand. • Facebook and twitter: Have a bigger community in the company’s name but still run product pages. • Youtube,Slideshare and scribd : You may just have one channel.Make it robust and huge. • Pinterest: Make different pin boards for different products. • linkedIn: I would suggest going for company groups and company level profiles for q&a.
  • 9. ENDING THOUGHTS : • There are two ways of marketing : Kick ass or cover ass. • As a marketer you need to be aggressive.Give that feeling to the community,you are there to let people know what you stand for and what you have to offer ti the people.Be bold and kick ass. • You as a marketer will not be appreciated for not getting kicked.you will be judged by the number of asses u kicked.
