Formation of United Nations
• Before United Nations, League of Nations was
formed.
• League of Nations consisted of 58 nations but
it was shut down because it was influenced by
the interests of the prime nations and even in
its presence World War 2 started.
• So finally United Nations was formed on 24
October,1945.
• At the time of its founding it had 51 members
, now it has 193 members.
United Nations Headquarter in New York City , USA
Also its main offices are situated in Geneva, Nairobi and Vienna.
Objectives of United Nations
• To promote peace in the world.
• Increase co-operation between countries.
• To increase International security.
• To give basic human rights to every human in
the world irrespective of his/her country.
• To have a better healthcare in the world.
Failure of the functioning of U.N
We all believe that the U.N is very
effective and important for the world but
we can’t neglect the failures it has faced
due to its ineffectiveness which has
various reasons.
