has trained in piezosurgery, an advanced type
of bone surgery, and holds a membership
with the International Piezosurgery Academy.

3.  Piezosurgery represents a revolution in bone
surgery methodology for dental implants,
extractions, and bone grafting. Compared with
the standard drill method, piezosurgery is much
gentler because the piezoelectric vibrations used
in the process can be adjusted to target the
specific density of the bone. This reduces
damage to soft tissues, nerves, and blood vessels
around the bone, as well as the osteocytes
themselves. With significantly less damage to the
area surrounding the bone, patients are able to
heal more quickly and completely.

4.  Piezosurgery has been used in oral surgery
for over 15 years, with continuous
improvements and refinements in the
technology. The International Piezosurgery
Academy held its first annual conference in
2011, in Lugano, Switzerland.
