Forced Equality In Kurt Vonnegut s Harrison Bergeron
In 1961 Kurt Vonnegut wrote a short story titled Harrison Bergeron. The story starts out, The Year
was 2081, and everybody was finally equal. They weren t only equal before God and the law. They
were equal every which way. (Vonnegut) Forced equality is the major theme in this short story,
taking many features away from the characters including, their independent thought, their
individuality, and their constitutional rights. Harrison Bergerontakes place in the future where
everyone is subjected to wearing devices, also known as handicaps, that takes away unequaled,
unsurpassed characteristics of the each person, in order to make every person average and
equal to one another. Two of the main characters George and Hazel Bergeron are the first
example of this ruling that we see in the story. George is described as intelligent and strong and
therefore is subjected to many handicaps where his wife, Hazel Bergeron is considered to be
average and therefore is not subjected to any handicaps. Benjamin Reed describes Hazel as, so
average even her name is the eye color between brown and blue. Her natural mental state is
equivalent to George s natural mind. (7) Reed later describes their son, Harrison Bergeron as,
[possessing] amazing strength, god like beauty and stature and (presumably) a piercing intelligence,

to make uniform and equivalent. Diana Moon Glampers has Harrison

GNS 3 Command Analysis
Carefully write down what you see on the GNS3 screens. (Unfortunately, it is impossible to
copy the texts of the GNS3 screens and paste them into the browser you are using to take this
course.) Type sudo tcpdump xx i eth0 into this terminal. You can stop it after a few minutes by
entering CTRL c . Note that this command displays only 4 lines, like this: which is enough for
all but one of the questions. The sudo tcpdump xx s0 i eth0 command must be used to see the
whole frame. This command will collect all Ethernet frames passing through interface eth0 and
display them as 8 byte lines in hexadecimal. 0x0010 is the number of the first byte of the line in
hexadecimal (0x: notation often used in languages to denote hexadecimal). Each pair of characters
then represents the value of one byte. Each line contains 16 bytes. Here, 0x0010 is the number of
the first byte of the second line, which is the 16th byte of the frame, hence 10 in hexadecimal....

Public School Vs. Public Schools
Midterm Paper When we look at the United States, we see a a nation found on the basis of
Christianity which is put together to follow the bible and principles of God. Yet we live in a
world where at some public school s like Kankakee School District 111 that I attended where the
bible isn t taught or spoke on in classes. Although at private schools they focus on Christianity
because of the school being private rather than public. I feel like Christianity should be taught in
public schools just like private school s teach it because some families can afford to send their
children to private school s, while other families are less fortunate that they have to send their
children to a public school. Within the ever changing population growth and the changing of
religious views, it s becoming difficult keeping the Christian value in public school systems since
new religions and new beliefs are flooding into the nation let alone the school systems. I see that
private educationcost thousands of dollars each semester to stay in school while public school
doesn t cost nearly a few hundreds of dollars if any. Public school s get treated so differently than
private school s in every way because at private school s you get a uniform whereas public school
s parents spend money to make sure students have clothes to wear five days of the week. Private
school s focus on religious beliefs with uniforms, statues, buildings and etc, while public schools

The Relationship Between Revolution, State Reform, And...
The relationships between revolution, state reform, and industrialization came in a succession
form. The ideas that were brought to light during the revolutions later defined how the states
were reformed. The reformed states would later take on industrialization. During the American
and French Revolutions some ideas were brought up that later defined the state formations. The
idea of popular sovereignty allowed for states to become more democratic. This idea to allow the
people to have some authority over the sovereign was brought about by John Locke. People
wanted freedom, individual freedom to be exact. In terms of political and legal equality, the idea
was that all individuals would be equal under the law. State reformation began through acquiring
independence. Independence was acquired by means of war and conflict. There was later
American, Haitian, Brazilian, and Mexican independence. For the Haitian Revolution, a slave
revolt broke out and was led by a man named Toussaint L Ouverture. Mexico became independent
due to Napoleon invading Spain and weakening the royal control of the colonies and the
independence movement led by SimГіn Bolivar. Pedro the King s son agreed to an independent
Brazil. Industrialization began through new inventions and use of material. Coal replaced the use
of wood. Some of the new inventions included the fluttering shuttle, spinning mule, water driven
power loom, steam power, and different modes of transportation. Social classes were formed,

and it was already on the side of maturity stage with declining growth.
The simple motive of the merger was to take advantages of each other s distribution networks
global supplier base, thereby saving costs thanks to high volumes. Daimler Benz could gain access
to Chrysler s distribution networks in North America, while Chrysler could reach out to Europe
market thanks to Daimler Benz s networks. Goldman Sachs was just brought in to make the deal
happen.
In addition, equal status of both parties in the merger, as Schrempp said, did not exist, and the

Moreover, Daimler Benz s and Chrysler s brand images were completely opposite, which makes
them lose their own intrinsic value if they would merge together. Again, the clash in cultures and
values took them apart and a harmony within the new company seemed to be impossible.
In addition, with the purpose of protecting sales of Daimler s luxury and uncompromising
quality products like Mercedes, some core vehicles of Chrysler, such as Dodge Neon and the
Jeep Grand Cherokee, were sidelined in favor of Daimler s products. Apparently, Chrysler s
products are always within cost control, while Daimler Benz s vehicles are less cost effective.
Merging with Daimler Benz, Chrysler hadn t earned as many benefits as expected, but already
faced a severe internal competition which harmed it business not only in the US market, but also
hindered Chrysler s plan of expansion in Europe.
Practically, from Chrysler s point of view, instead of benefiting from synergy savings and instead
of promoting its brand in new market, the merger with Daimler Benz actually put Chrysler into a

Descriptive Statistics In Table 2
After conducting an analysis of descriptive statistics, as found in Table I, the results reveal that
$224.6 million dollars (M=$4.16 million, SD=$2.99 million) was spent across the 54 multimedia
rights agreements during the 2015 2016 school year. The smallest financial payout is $375,000 and
belongs to Northern Illinois, while the largest contract $12,358,087 million, belonging to the
Universityof Texas. The disparity among institutions becomes more evident when analyzing the
multimedia rights contracts. Of the $224.6 million dollars spent during the 2015 2016 season,
$182.3 million was spent on institutions who compete in one of the Power 5 conferences, meaning
that the 31 Power 5 institutions in this study receive 81.2% of the... Show more content on

In terms of total spending, IMG is followed by Learfield (sum = $82.3 million), JMI (sum = $11.9
million). It is important to note that JMI is relatively new when it comes to college multimedia
rights contracts, and only has two institution, which is reflected in their low total payout.
However, as illustrated in Table VI, JMI has a higher average payout than the two larger
companies, IMG and Learfield, (M=$5.93 million, SD= $4.7 million). JMI will see an increase
in their average payout during the 2016 2017 as well as during the 2017 2018 seasons with
addition of Clemson who will make $2.6 million to $7.7 million during the respective seasons.
IMG and Learfield are relatively similar in average payouts, with IMG averaging $4.53 million
(SD = $3.52 million) and Learfield averaging $3.74 million (SD= $1.87 million). IMG and
Learfield, both with over 20 contracts a piece have a far greater range of contract sizes, with IMG
controlling both the smallest payout, $375,000, and the largest payout, $12.36 million. The
variables outlined in Table VII were used in an attempt to explain the effect that numerous factors
have on the guaranteed rights fee that a university receives from a third party rights holder. Those
variables were separated into four categories; property related, football performance, basketball
performance, and demand indicators. From there, a Pearson product moment correlation was applied

This essay highlights and discusses models of disability reflected in two separate articles
(Appendices A and B). I will identify the models of disability they represent. Both have been
recently featured in the Guardian newspaper and are stories on disabled people.
Appendix A was reported some years ago but continues to evoke opinion and has featured again
recently due to a similar case. Ashley is a profoundly disabled girl, who at six years old has a
mental age of 3 months. Her parents decided on controversial treatment for her, as her condition
would not improve. Ashley has undergone surgery to remove her uterus and breasts, and for three
years she received hormone treatment to keep her weight and height low. It ... Show more content

This Rights model, more specifically Ashley s human rights is very present in the article. It could
be argued that she doesn t need or require the treatment to medically improve her life. The Equal
and Human Rights Commission (2008) suggest that human rights are the freedoms that we are all
entitled to as a result of our shared humanity. I understand that she is unable to speak and is
unlikely to have the mental capacity to make that decision but does that automatically transfer that
decision to her parents? The United Nations Convention on the Rights for a Child (1989) plays an
important part of the Rights model for this text as I feel it both supports and opposes the parent s
actions. Article 23 concentrates on children s disability by stating that Children who have any kind
of disability have the right to special care and support, as well as all the rights in the Convention,
so that they can live full and independent lives. This could support Ashley s parent s motives.
However, Article 3 states The best interests of children must be the primary concern in making
decisions that may affect them. All adults should do what is best for children. When adults make
decisions, they should think about how their decisions will affect children. In this case are the
parents doing what s best for Ashley or themselves? This is a good example where the Rights
model can get itself in a twist! The

Sports And Sports Fanatics
My everyday routine is nothing short of excitement, the thrill I get from my everyday life is
seeing what is going on in the sports realm. Sports controls my everyday activities and makes me
who I am. I have an extreme passion and love for almost every sport known to mankind. I am a
hard core typical sports fanatic in today s world. The first reason is sports controls how I act and
talk. Secondly, I spend an excessive amount of time consuming sports activities. Perhaps the trait
the plays the biggest role in making me such a huge fanatic is the amount of money I put into
sports. First off, my vocabulary and the way I talk is often controlled by sports and my passion
for the games. Just like most sports fans I love to trash talk especially when my teams are
succeeding. For example, when I go to a sports event if my team is winning I love rubbing it in
the faces of the supporters for the opposing team. Sports affects how I talk by effecting my mood
based on my teams performances whether it is good or bad. For instance, when the Philadelphia
Eagleslose my mood is atrocious and I speak negatively with little hope in my voice. However,
when they win I use much more positive words through the week and I become upbeat. Often
people know if the Eagles won their game based on how I act and speak. The way I talk is one
aspect that proves that I am a typical sports fanatic that lets sports control my life. Secondly, it is
obvious to the world that I am a typical ports fanatic due

The Court Of The Crimson King
In the Court of the Crimson King, the debut album by King Crimson, is widely recognised as
one of the greatest progressive rock albums of all time, named by Rolling Stone Magazine as the
best progressive rock album of all time, other than Pink Floyd s fabled The Dark Side of the Moon
(1973). Featuring Greg Lake (later of Emerson, Lake Palmer) on vocals and bass guitar, Robert
Fripp(who later played for David Bowie, Brian Eno, and with Andy Summer from The Police) on
guitars, Ian McDonald (who later joined Foreigner) on wind, keys and vibraphone, and Michael

That being said, around the 3.40 mark, the solo appears to become more indulgent, and more of
an acquired taste than before. Thankfully, the saxophone returns at 4.20, with the riff used in the
earlier saxophone solo, and pulls the jam back into a more melodic territory. That is followed by
a few short riffs in free time, before returning to the main riff for a third verse around 5.50. The
main riff is repeated until about 6.40, when the song slowly starts accelerating, finishing in 20
seconds of psychedelic cacophony which is simply too much for many listeners.
The second track, I Talk to the Wind , provides a mellow rest after the dense amalgamation of
noises towards the conclusion of the first track. The song starts with a flute, before a double
tracked harmony vocal begins the main section of the song. It is a slow ballad, where the complex
drum lines are a lot lower in the mix, which allows for a softer, more melodic direction. Fripp s use
of a dark and jazzy guitar timbre lets the guitar s harmonics provide a smooth accompaniment for
the vocals and wind instruments. The major 7 chords also provide a slightly jazzy feel, before
moving to an F# minor 7, to resolve to a B major. This minor 7 gives a great suspended feel (in
place of a Bsus4), allowing Lake s vocals to follow a more fluid path. The wind driven ballad is
well mixed, but at times, the wind can be a little loud, and harsh in

The staff/employees of Oxfam influence the charity greatly and are the main reason as to why the
charity is successful. They provide the friendly customer service to those who decide to shop at
the Oxfam stores. Staff usually do work for free so this allows Oxfam to spend more on
developing third world countries, again this has an impressive influence.
Suppliers want steady orders and prompt payment, they also want to feel valued by the company
that they supply.
Suppliers are interested in supplying Tesco with goods because of the business they get from them
and the profit that they receive. They influence Tesco because if the suppliers go out of business
then Tesco will have to find new suppliers that may not offer the same high standards as the
previous supplier.
Suppliers/donators influence Oxfam greatly. Without the public supplying Oxfam shops with
goods to sell, the shops would fail and would not be able to raise money to support the charities
work for third world countries.
This may be a sole trader or partnership. In a company it would be the shareholders. A charity
would be considered to be owned by trustees owners often have a great influence on the business
and are considered important stakeholders because they might have put a good part of their life
into setting up a business. Owners like to see the success of profit making and the growth of the
business.

Frq 1775 to 1830 Slavery in America
In the time period between 1775 and 1830, African Americans start to gain more freedom in the
North while the institution of slavery expanded in the South. These changes occurred due to the
existence of different point of views. The North did not need slavery and acknowledge the cons of
slavery while the South s want for slavery quickly became a need. After the American Revolution,
The North slowly started to rid itself of slavery while the South implemented slavery into their daily
lives. Slaves existed right from the start of American history and during the American Revolution.
The British used the African American slaves to their advantage by granting them freedom in
return. In Lord Dunmore s Proclamation of 1775, he stated that... Show more content on

During this time period, the treatment of slaves improved because they were treated more like
humans rather than farm animal. Some slave owners even allowed their slaves to purchase their
freedom by working for them for a certain amount of time. Some African American slaves were
not as lucky for their masters forbid them to do so (Doc F). As the North finally gets rid of all
slave activity, the South becomes more and more dependent on slave labor and more embedded
into the system. Both free and enslaved Africans were discriminated against in this time period
but responded differently towards their challenges. African Americans found ways to cope with
their situation one being religious gatherings (Doc D). They sang old traditional African songs
and danced. By doing so, they can forget about life troubles for a moment and give themselves a
sense of hope that someday they would by free. Some slaves where more violent than other and
began rebellions against their white owners. The use of rebellion was inspired to them by the
Bible and that God was pleading for their cause with earnestness and zeal (Doc G). Slaves who
caused mischief was relocated deeper south where the treatment and condition was even worse.
The Fugitive Slave Law forced the North to send back any slaves who escaped to the North in
return for a reward. Slaves who tried to escape to the North were also relocated. By relocating
them, the chances of escape decreased for them. Even

Nurse Educators Essay
1. Summarize the webinar of your choosing and discuss the implications concerning nursing
education.
The webinar titled Succeeding as a Nurse Educator was presented by Diane Billings, EdD, RN,
FAAN. The three objectives for the webinar were to be able to differentiate between the roles of
faculty appointment: teaching, service, and scholarship; implement strategies for working smarter,
not harder; and develop a career plan for success as a nurse educator (Billings, 2013).
The webinar started by discussing the role of the nurse educator, at which point Boyer s four
pillars of scholarship and the NLN core competencies were discussed. Billings (2013) mentioned

Working smarter includes reusing material, creating templates, working on teams, and only using
activities that will produce positive outcomes. The fourth topic was about still being successful
despite the challenges faced as faculty. This topic focused on making sure we do not have too
much to do and maintaining expertise as an educator.
Billings (2013) once again discussed the importance of an educator focusing on the three roles
of teacher, service, and scholarship. Educators need to make sure they set aside the appropriate
time to focus on all three of these roles. Educators must also create a portfolio that summarizes
one s work and accomplishments. During the webinar, a participant asked about seeking a PhD
or a DNP. Billings (2013) provided and answer that helped clarify the difference based on one s
goals as an educator. Finally, Billings (2013) talked about enjoying one s job by having fun and
savoring success.
The entire webinar had implications on nursing education. The webinar gave great advise for new
educators for what to expect in the education environment, as well as tips to be successful. The
webinar was reflective of many of the topics discussed throughout this semester s course, and did a
good job linking everything together in regards to nursing education.

because of the increase of popularity of football, length of the season and cost of a game, and
length of plays and the game itself. Some fans believe that the increase of popularity of sports
other than baseball, such as football, can be attributed to the average size of football stadiums and
the average game attendance. Americans in general like for things to be bigger and better and the
statistics for football stadium size and attendance show football facts far exceed baseball facts. For
example, the Dallas Cowboys stadiumis the largest NFL stadium seating a whopping 80,000 plus
20,000 standing. By comparison, the Los Angeles Dodgers, of the MLB, has the biggest
stadium in baseball seating 56,000 ( ESPN ). These stats show the increase in popularity of
football compared to the decrease of popularity of baseball. Research shows the Cowboys have
demand for more seating because of the number of tickets sold per game. The average game
attendance for an NFL game is greater compared to that of an MLB game. In fact, the Cowboys

Mobile Phones And Its Effects On The Cell Phone
Almost everyone in today s society owns a mobile phone. Of the people who own cell phones, a
vast majority of them have purchased smartphones. These devices allow a new level of
connectedness that previous cellular phones did not make possible. With smartphones, people can
now communicate with others through a plethora of different communication services and
protocols. Each of these communication methods sends a notification to a smartphone, which
results in a buzz and/or flashing light to alert the user. The idea that a text or call could arrive at any
moment has placed some people on edge. This has led to many people experiencing a phenomenon
called phantom vibration syndrome . Phantom vibration syndrome manifests as imaginary
vibrations, sounds, or flashing lights from a user s mobile phone. People who experience this
syndrome may constantly and/or compulsively check their phones. They often report imagining
their phone ringing/vibrating or their notification light blinking, only to check their phone and find
no new messages or calls. Many people who experience this phenomenon imagine they hear their
phone ringing, only to check it and find they that they mistook a similar sound for their ringtone.
These perceived sensations are technically classified as hallucinations, although most people are not
disturbed or bothered by them. Phantom vibration syndrome has been the subject of different
scientific studies. As many as nine out of ten people report feeling phantom

in the late 1800s. There is very little recognition of the real impact of Native Americans hardships
that happened because of government policies being implemented upon them and the feeling of
WASP (White Anglo Saxton Protestant) superiority. The two different ways of life were causing
many battles, massacres, and injuries from people on both sides of the fight for land. The Indians
were being kicked off of their land, that had been inhabited by the ancestors of their tribes for

This allows the Indians power with numbers at a big win against General Custer at Little

the land will be given to the government and the Native Americans are given no choice, but to
surrender, excluding Sitting Bull, pack leader, and a small portion of his people who escape to
Canada. (310) They are able to now feel like even if they win a battle and get enough people to
join their army the will never be truly allowed to win the land. The Nez PercГ©s people are then
told to give up their land and settle in a reservation after loosing battles to the Bluecoats. (312)
The surrounding policy changes in the times are part of the reason as to why this major civil
war was being overshadowed in 1877. (315) The white settlers are able to act with very little
notice being given due to the amount of larger conflicts that were developing in the start of the
nation. The Poncas are the next tribe that is played out, and they are considered to be peaceful.
However, they are sent to Indian territories with groups that are considered hostile and that result in
the demise and deaths. A member states, It makes my heart feel sad as I do not know this land.

Essay On Australopithecus Sediba
With all of the knowledge that has been obtained since the beginning of the exploration into
Anthropology there is still many things we do not know. In fact the very order in which our
evolutionary cycle is arranged is still under debate to this day. However, through reading the book,
watching the videos, and through my own knowledge I believe that there is roughly 7 subspecies of
ancestors in which fall between the time of Australopithecus sediba and Homo erectus.
Starting with Australopithecus sediba which was found by the young boy in the first video was
dated back roughly 1.8 million years ago. The reason the Australopithecus sediba was said to be

Homo erectus. He walk on two feet and resembled man much more that primate. It also had a very

The Arolfini Wedding Portrait of 1434, a tiny piece representing the marriage of a young, well off
couple, is rich in both religious symbolism and technical skill. The artist placed a certain emphasis
on the use of disguised religious symbolism to play up this civil ceremony as a sacrament of the
church.
Among the many symbolic references in this work, Van Eyck alluded to the representation of
hollowed ground by having the subjects remove their shoes and cover their heads. The shiny,
clean mirror and crystalline beads depict the purity of the bride, while the single candle in the
chandelier can represent the presence of Christ at the ceremony. The statuette of Saint Margaret
can be seen as a reference to the woman s role as wife and mother, and the clothing colors (green,
blue, and white) are Late Gothic symbols of the affection of a lover, faithfulness, and purity.

Why I Am A Pharmacy Technician For Cvs Pharmacy
My primary interest in a career in Pharmacy came from an overall interest in medicine and health
care in general. As a third grader, I had the first severe asthma attack that I can remember that
caused the first of several hospital stays. By happenstance, that time sparked my curiosity about
medicine. As an eight year old, I wondered just how this magical mist that came through a mask
was able to give me a freedom to breath that my body wasn t couldn t give me on its own.
Throughout high school and the beginning of college, I tailored my education to focus on biology
and medicine, as well as finding time to interact with patients as I pursued a career in medicine.
However, it was not until I began working as a pharmacytechnician for CVS Pharmacy that I came
to understand that this was the career my passion was leading to me to. I had shadowed other
health care professionals before based on my interest. These shadowing experiences included a
pediatrician, family practice physician, and a physical therapist. Each of those experiences were
useful to me because, while they were interesting, they all seemed to lack something that left me
wanting more. As a hopeful pharmacist, I will have a career that I feel passionate about while being
able to provide for my loved ones at the same time. I enjoy my job as a pharmacy technician so
much that I began researching a career in pharmacy after only a few months of working there. The
pharmacists that I work with have been such an

Essay on Hamlet and Tragedy
Hamlet and Tragedy
Hamlet: A Tragedy When you think of William Shakespeare, Hamlet is the first thing most
people think of, as his work. Hamlet is also a classic example of a tragedy. In all tragedies the
hero suffers, and usually dies at the end. All good pieces of literature written way back when, are
usually tragedies. The most important element is the amount of free will the character has. In every
tragedy, the character must display free will. If every action is controlled by a hero s destiny, then
the hero s death can t be avoided, and in a tragedy the sad part is that it could. Hamlet s death could
have been avoided many times. Hamlet had many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The tragic hero must possess many good traits, as well as one flaw, which eventually leads to his
downfall. A tragic hero must be brave and noble. Hamlet is the perfect example of the tragic
hero. Hamlet has all the good traits needed to be a tragic hero. He is brave and daring. One
example of this is that when he went to England, he was taking a big risk and knew they were
out to kill him. His loyalty to his father, was the reason he was so angry with Claudius and his
Mother. Eric Bentley said that a Tragedy is dependent on comedy. Comic relief is used in
tragedies to change the atmosphere of the reader, who is constantly focusing on the death and
corruption of a tragedy. If a play were full of the death and sorrow, as in tragedies, it would make
the reader very depressed and not like the play. Some examples of this in Hamlet, are in the
Gravedigger Scene, Talking to the Skull and the Throwing of the book.
Towards the end of the play, there are two scenes in the graveyard. One is when Hamlet picks up
a skull, and the gravedigger tells him that the skull belonged to Yorick, the old king s jester.
Hamlet tells Horatio that he knew Yorick, and then realizes what we all become after we die,
dust. He then plays with the idea of life and death, and describes the finality of it. The
gravedigger scene is the tragic conclusion of the play. The second scene of comedy in this scene is
when the gravediggers argue whether Ophelia should be allowed to be

A Brief Note On Work And Life Balance
Work and Life balance has become a consequential topic about a few decades ago up until today.
Work life balance was originally derived in the 1970 s to refer to the balance that exists in one s
professional life and personal one (Newman Matthews, 1999). In the past decade or so, there has
sparked a curiosity in the work life balance realm. More and more studies and research came
about on the topic and attracted the attention of scholars, the government, press, etc. This increase
in curiosity could be driven by the worry that a lack of adequate work life balance could spillover
into health and even lower productivity for organizations. Today, we see that most people are
working harder and longer than they ever were which makes it nearly unimaginable to attain that
crucial work life balance. Having a sustainable work life balance means that there occurs adequate
work functioning as well as the home with there being little to no role conflict (Sturges Guest,
2004). Sturges and Guest (2004) also discuss that there are graduates that are pulled into situations
where they have to work lengthy hours which inevitably leads to a poor balance in the work and
life aspect. At the core foundation of this, work life balance characteristics are contingent upon the
various communicationmethods that occur in one s organization. Having both formal and informal
forms of communication, are crucial for both mentally and physically in order to be happy in the
workplace. This paper focuses

The Skin Of African Americans
Beneath the Surface
Have you ever wanted to walk in someone else s shoes for a day and see what life is like for
people on the other side of the planet? Would you be more thankful for the life you have and the
skin you live in? The environment, food, and habits are different for everyone depending on where
they live in the world. Americans have the ability to see the flexibility in these components, but
other countries can not afford to change these factors to benefit their skin. The skin is the largest
organ of the body, the Sudanese and American families must be able to promote a healthy lifestyle
to maintain and enhance their skin.
African Americans have learned to adapt to the different environments all around the world and
how the affects of their lifestyles change their bodies. African American skin adapts to climate
differently than those of white decent. For instance, African Americans have naturally oily skin,
when they move to weather with harsher temperature factors like the sun and weather patterns can
cause them to have skin problems. Cold weather causes their skin to crack and discolor because
they are meant to have oily skin and are able to adapt to warmer climates better than others (Aretha
C Smith) (William Robertson Boggs). The environment and healthy foods both contribute to
healthy skin. It is significantly easier for the Aboubakar family (Sudanese family) to adapt to the
climate in their region of the world because the weather is normally hot. This

Sandwich Bikes
In the world of home exercise equipment, few pieces have been around as long as the exercise
bike. Although exercise bikes (fitness bikes, studio bikes) received a bad rap for a number of
years, being used as clothes hangers, etc., the new versions are sleek, silent, and easy to use.
There are two basic types of bikes, the upright and the recumbent. An upright is what most people
think of when they think of fitness bikes. The upright is closest to a regular bike, narrow saddle,
pedals below the rider, handle bars out front. On the other hand, a recumbent exercise bike has a
wider seat with a small back support. The pedals are out front, and the rider is in a reclined
position. Both bikes have good and bad points as we shall see.
The traditional setup of an upright bike allows the rider to more closely simulate an actual bike
ride than possible with a recumbent. The rider is able to stand, assume a race crouch, or a
neutral position. Trouble is, if the rider has any sort of back problems, especially lower back, an
upright can irritate the condition leading to worse problems. An upright is more difficult to get
on and off of because of a higher proximity to the ground. This can be problematic for older or
overweight people. An upright takes up less room than a recumbent. You may want to keep this in

aerospace engineers and a citizen. Unfortunately, after it launched, the space shuttle broke apart and
hit the ocean. The failure of the mission traumatized the whole nation. In fact, millions of people

Ronald Reagan appointed some persons from different areas, such as engineers, pilots, politicians

reason for the disaster was because of technical issues. In actuality, the disaster was caused by the
decision to launch, which was driven by political pressures. The focus on political interest over
hard science was the reason for the Challenger disaster.
NASA launched the Challenger on January 28, 1986 in the cold temperature. Challenger was

additional testing, it became a spacecraft. NASA expanded the wings and connected it to external

How Color And The Affects It Has On The Human Brain
Color is any hue, tint, or shade of light that can be separated as in a spectrum or rainbow as defined
by the Oxford English Dictionary. There have been many studies concerning color and the affects it
has on the human brain. According to Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe, a eighteenth century writer,
each colorevokes a different emotion or sensation, which can be seen and studied using a prism, the
grand instrument in the experimental field of research into light. So why does color matter in
marketing? In a recent study, researchers found that 92.6% of people put most importance on visual
factors when purchasing products, (Morton). A key factor to visual composition is color choices,
pairings, schemes, and the emotions and feelings each of those colors evoke.
The human brains reaction to color is called color psychology. Marketers consider the meaning
behind each color when designing merchandise packaging, and consumers choose certain products
because they find the packaging to be appealing, and subconsciously playing into the plans of the
companies. The history and study of color has presented a plethora of information regarding the
important role color plays in everyday life. The scientific reasoning behind color psychology has
yet to be specified due to the wide variety of factors that could affect the results, such as personal
preference, personal history, and environmental conditions. Although marketers might not consider

Body image is a major concern in women s self perceptions and feelings about body satisfaction

Baseball was simple enough to understand, yet captivating and stimulating. One element of baseball
that fascinated me, was the focus on the individual. Much of the game is played as one on one,
pitcherverses batter, and thus there are few parts of the game that depend on abstract concepts such
as teamwork and communication. These immeasurable factors which play an integral part in sports
such as basketball and football, are less significant on the baseball diamond.

There is nothing more important than helping people improve their way of lives. Making a
difference in people s lives and bringing them hope and cheer is not something that is achieved in
just about any career.
Culture is very important to the role of a nurse. Today, nurses operate in a cultural diverse
environment. The current health care setting incorporates both patients and professionals with a
diverse cultural background and social level. Health in all cultures is an important aspect of life.
Cultural background, religion or beliefs, greatly influences a person s health and their response to
medical care. In most cases these diverse cultures guide decisions made in daily life; medications
taken and medical advice listened to. As a nurse, I will demonstrate this characteristic by being
knowledgeable and respectful of the diverse cultures and subcultures when providing care. The

them with health care services of the high quality.

Essay on The Consolation of Philosophy
In book III of The Consolation of Philosophy, Boethius establishes the fact that God is the world s

In regard to the wicked, quot;just as goodness is its own reward, so the punishment of the wicked

same way as the good never goes without reward. Boethius associates wicked people with animals,
even though they take on a physical appearance of a human, their state of mind becomes animal like.
Boethius claims that bad things do happen, and they happen to both good and bad people.
However, in both cases they occur in order to ultimately achieve a greater good. Is it just that
people that are otherwise virtuous, receive bad things? According to Boethius, the answer would be
yes, it is just, because the function of bad things is to make one stronger. quot; What does not kill
me, makes me stronger. quot; (_______) When bad things happen to righteous people, it is to teach
them, to remind them what good is (change) to make sure they remember the most important
concepts in life. When bad things happen to bad people it is to punish them. God governs bad
things in order to bring about good. That leads Boethius to question the fact that criminals often
escape punishment, consequently being rewarded for their wrongdoing.
To further explain the idea that vice is often rewarded is only an appearance, Philosophy begins
discussing punishment. She states that when criminals get punished, they receive something good.
Punishment is rehabilitation, it turns someone bad to see

every project management team. The Denver International Airport was supposed to be inaugurated
on October 1993 with its fully automated computer controlled baggage handling system. All the
concourses of the airport were supposed to use a single integrated system. This automation would

Alternative#3: score (8) Since Denver International Airport was almost ready to open in June, 1994
except for the baggage handling system, developing a traditional tug and conveyor manual baggage
handling system temporarily will start making profit and begin the investment at the airport.
Furthermore, the DIA opening day would have been delayed less than 16 months. Also, reduce the
rumors about DIA and people will start to understand problem. However, this alternative will affect
other factors. For instance, the cost to redesign the airport construction in order to use a
conventional baggage handling system at DIA would reach $50 million.
In addition, the traditional system will require about 500 600 people instead of 150 160 people for
the computerized system. Also, manual system could be a real challenge to DIA to meet the
stakeholders requirements. United Airlines fear that it would not satisfy their requirements. The
manual system would support a 25 minute turnaround time for passenger aircraft. (Kerzner, H.,
2013).
Strengths
Operate the airport and reduce the delays.

Global citizenship outcome social justice helps to promote equality. This outcome means help
people other friends and family. Helping others out in the community and around the world.
Personal Examples Of Global Outcomes
Responsibility Act
I take full responsibility for my own actions. I do things based on my own moral and values. If
someone is in the store and do not have enough money I give them the rest of the money. I am not
looking for anything in return. To me, this is nothing more than lending a helping hand. If I was in
that situation I would want someone to do it for me.
Social Justice As a global citizen, I like helping others in the form of donations or even
volunteering. When people are having fundraisers if I have the funds I just give them some
money. I do not have to render the services. I just make donations. I also do what I can to help
others in need. I treat everyone I come across with respect and love. I enjoy putting people in a
positive environment. It brings enjoyment to their live as well as mine. If someone calls me and
needs a favor I never hesitate if I can do it.

The Causes Of The Dust Bowl
The Dust Bowl
It started off as a normal day for the Johnson boys, They woke up, ate breakfast and headed off to
the fields to start their chores. Their chores included feeding and tending the livestock and
taking care of the crops. There were two boys, Rick and Morty the youngest son, Morty loved
feeding the cows and sheep his favorite was a calf named Chad. Chad and Morty have been best
friends ever since Chad was born. When Morty was feeding Chad he looked over and saw a
cloud of dust that ranged for miles. He yelled at his brother to look and together they put away
all the livestock and went inside for shelter. Four hours goes by and the storm finally passes. The
two boys go outside to see that everything has been covered in dust. They run to the barn and see
that all their livestock had died from dust suffocation. Rick and Morty go in a panic everything
they worked hard for was gone. They had no other choice but to migrate to try and find a job so
they can survive. So the next day they packed everything they could carry and got the next ticket to
California. This was very usual for the farmers in the midwest to do this. The Dust Bowl affected
people s way of life in the Midwest forcing them to migrate to California in search of a job and food.
For years the Dust Bowl traveled the southern plains making the everyday activities not so simple.
According to a English Professor at University of Illinois, Cary Nels on, the dust bowl lasted about
a decade (Nelson). Maria

Polar Express Psychology
Innocence, trust, truth, and calmness are all different feelings that one might have or encounter
in their life. Most of these feelings are felt as a child and as a parent more often. Blue is
conservative and calming in a positive aspect. But blue can also relate to sadness, lonely, cold, or
depressing, in a more negative way. You feel these things when you feel betrayed, lied to, or the
loss of a loved one. Blue can stimulate so many feelings depending on a situation. The Polar
Express and the poem The Side of Truthstimulate different feelings when read but they are
intertwined in some aspects. Though written in different centuries, The Polar Express and the poem

The blue seen in the movie suggests the truth of hero boy s thoughts, and confusion.
Archetypally, blue is contemplated as reserved and quiet, and doesn t like to make a fuss or
draw attention (Color Psychology Web). The film embodies these exact feelings in hero boy. He
is reserved and quite and doesn t draw attention to himself on the train and tries to stay low during
the trip. However, the most significant reference to blue throughout the film is his blue robe,
which represents the reserved person he is because of his beliefs. The train is also exemplifies the
truth that he can only decide for him self what he truly wants to believe in.
Thomas begins with truth and ends the poem with love , there is the silly level of tension simply
the reason in the side of truth, that all will resolve into a unjudging truth which weakens the idea
of truth itself. Truth is not essentially not false . Just like in The Polar Express, it is not a film
that convinces young children to believe in the big man it paints a bigger a picture, to believe in
what you think is true and believe with all your heart and not let others convince you, you are

Homeschooling Is Bad
Why Homeschooling is Not Doing Children Justice
Homeschooling is an option for your child if you do not want them in public or private schooling.
Today s society of parents will make that choice for the child, wither the child wants to or not. Many
parents think that public schools are not educating their child enough so they resort to
homeschooling. This would mean devoting your time as a parent by helping support them in
learning and to make sure they will succeed with their education.
The problem today is that many parents will work with their child for about a month and all of a
sudden have no more time to educate them. In the beginning it is your family s motivation and you
want to make them proud, so you try your hardest. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Labs are mostly for the science classes, but most kids enjoy them, and it also helps make learning
fun. Homeschooling you hardly have any tests, but in public or private school you have a test at
least once a month. Tests help the teacher know if the students understand the concept of if they
still need more time to understand what it is. Homeschooling is not broken up into semesters or
even quarters; the child works at his pace. This could

Analysis Of Jane Austen s The One Hand Mansfield Park
Jane Austen is an author who sticks to her own established tropes across many of her novels. Time
and time again one can encounter the same sorts of characters and similar situations in her novel.
But Mansfield Park and Emma are two novels that tend to stand out against Austen s others and
what makes them stand out is not so much a departure from her pre established tropes, but a deeper
insight into them. In examining these two novels, one might think that the only similarity between
them is the way Austen turns her own tropes on their heads. On the one hand Mansfield Parkis
possibly Austen s darkest novel, featuring a desperately oppressed heroine whom readers have
found hard to like. On the other hand Emmais a lively novel full of hilariously ridiculous missteps
and a heroine who wields all the power necessary to cause those missteps. Yet they do have other
things in common. For instance, both examine themes of isolation and issues of a small
community, and in both novels, day trips and journeys serve to perpetuate that isolation, rather than
relieve it.
Both Nina Auerbach and Marilyn Butler touch briefly on this theme in their respective criticisms of
Mansfield Park and Emma. Auerbach paints Fanny as a monster comparable to Frankenstein s
creature and other classic English monsters such as the vampire and even Beowulf s Grendel. She
states that like Frankenstein and his monster... Fanny is a killjoy (448), and argues that Fanny
draws sustenance from her role as

George Santayana Once Said, “Those Who Do Not Remember
George Santayana once said, Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it. We
can agree with Santayana that when a society does not learn from history then they are condemned
to experience the same unpleasant consequences. It appears that history has not taught our society
much and humanity is condemned to live and experience history with rather unpredictable
turbulence. War has been a common theme that people from the past has been faced with and a
common theme we fear today.
There are many factors that lead societies into war whether between themselves or other countries.

decision to go to war is placed on the leader s personal conflict and not necessary for the good of
the citizens. Soderberg goes as far to write in her article, Learning from Iraq. The American
Prospect, ... the Bush administration has been blinded by an unrealistic belief in American
omnipotence. Perhaps the same almighty feelings that possessed Athens and Spartan fueling their
desire to take over and control all over Greece.
Too many cultural clashes can lead societies to rebel against each other. Athens and Sparta shared
the same country of Greece yet both city state had a different way of life. The ultimate plan for
each is to rule and force their way of life upon the lost society. The United States has been called the
melting pots of all cultures. Cultural cohesion should be far from the everyday issues we must face,
but it unfortunately it is one of the biggest dilemmas we encounter today. Soderberg explains:
Our security depends on international cooperation, but the past four years have seen anti
Americanism rise to unprecedented levels. Majorities across Europe, even in Great Britain, do not
believe that the United States is acting in their interest. And, worse, majorities in seven out of eight
Muslim countries say that the United States is a threat. These beliefs are wrong, but as long as
people hold them, they will be reluctant to join us in

Analysis Of The Movie Breaking Bad
In the crime drama television series, Breaking Bad we follow see the inner struggle of good and
evil within the main character throughout the entire series to the point where we question which
side of his personality we are witnessing. We see Walter White as a mild mannered and respectful
chemistry teacher who also works at a car wash to help provide for his family just like the typical
family man. Walter has a teenage son who has multiple sclerosis, and a wife who is pregnant with
their second child. After learning that he has been diagnosed with Stage IIIA lung cancer, Walter
decides quickly that he has to secure funds to help pay for his treatments, and also take care of
his family after his death. This decision would spark definite change in his lifestyle, relationships,
personality, and appearance. The result of this change would create the person we know so well,
Heisenberg. Heisenberg is the ruthless, power hungry individual that will do anything possible to
make sure that nothing gets in the way of his money, drug business, and security of himself or his
family. In this paper we will discuss how certain events make Walter White progressively become
darker throughout the series of Breaking Bad to the point where he becomes Heisenberg, as well as
comparing him to different characters of TV shows on television today.
There are many events that helped expedite Walter White s transition from the quiet chemistry
teacher to the vengeful crystal meth kingpin, but

Advisory Opinion on Constitutionality of Prohibiting Campus Firearms Bans
The Indiana Constitution explicitly says that The Supreme Court shall have, in all appeals of

the judicial Power of the United States extends only to actual Cases and Controversies . It thereby

abstract intellectual problems resolved in the rarified atmosphere of a debating society but instead
those questions will be presented in a concrete factual context conducive to a realistic appreciation
of the consequences of judicial action . Therefore, asking other judicial institutions for an advisory

The Pain At The Hospital
The pain in my side was excruciating! I had never felt a pain like this before; it would come and
go in waves like something was squeezing at some unknown organ. This had happened twice
before, but the pain had never been as unbearable as this third time. Because of the severity of
this attack, I finally decided to go see a professional. We first visited a small clinic, but they were
not able to assist me because they did not have any machines needed for deep body scans. The staff
suggested that we go to the emergency room. When we arrived at the hospital, it did not take long
before I was admitted and taken back to a room. Very soon afterward, I met my primary nurse, who
was not very compassionate, and she took some notes of my... Show more content on

asking many questions (about things that he did not need to know) about my personal business,
he finally gave up his belief that I was pregnant, and moved on the more likely idea that I had a
kidney stone. The long wait had finally paid off. Soon afterwards, two radiology techs came to
my room, and brought me to have a CT scan done. By this time, I had begun to tremble
uncontrollably, and for the CT scan I had to lay down on a freezing table while the machine
passed over me. This did not take long, and I was soon wheeled back to my room. But before I
had been pushed out of the room, one the techs gave me a blanket to put over the thin sheet I had
been using. This was the one act of kindness that was shown to me during my hospital experience.
Hour after painful hour ticked by as we waited to hear back from the doctor about the test. I could
not help but to cry. I was in pain, I was cold, I was hungry, and it seemed that these people were
the exact opposite of urgency. I realized that it was an emergency room, and the nurses had to also

Athen An Ancient Goddess And A Modern World Essay
Athena: an Ancient Goddess and a Modern World
The tales of the Gods and heroic mortals originated two millennia ago in the ancient world of
Greece and Roman. Back then, the stories were shared verbally, long before they were ever put to
print by poets such as Hesiod, Homer and Ovid; however the influence of the ancient Greeks upon
modern society can be seen in many aspects of our daily life. The stories found in the ancient myths
we believe somewhat mimic the society from which they are born, and Athena, daughter of Zeus,
has played a part in many of those stories. Athena can be found a of intrigue, as she is a strong
female character in the male dominated world of Mount Olympus. The importance and legacy of
Athena can be seen throughout the centuries in the city of Athens, as well as in art, poetry and
more recently in cinema.
Athena is believed to be the daughter of Zeus, however the story of Athena s actual birth varies.
The most widely accepted story of the birth of Athena can be attributed to Hesiod in his
Theogony. Per Hesiod, Zeus impregnated Metis, known for her wisdom and who it was foretold
would have a child more powerful that their father. Zeus, then swallowed Metis and Athena sprang
from her father s head fully grown and in full armor. Athena has many half siblings which is to
say other offspring of Zeus, such as Ares, Hebe, Persephone, Aphrodite and even the mortal
Heracles. However, Athena is considered to be Zeus s favorite child, he trusted her far above

Breaking Social Norms
Social Norms dictate what is acceptable in society and in some ways help society to productive
and orderly. Norms are a set of protocol that we have all learned and follow and laws that we are
held to because we participate in society. Many times social norms keep the average citizen to
themselves and within their own sphere unless an emergency arrives where or a situation when
spontaneous must occur. When individuals within the society break the social norms and step
outside the standards that everyone lives by, the society shuns the behavior and separates it self
from the thing that is not adhering to the social norm. Within our society we frown behaviors such
as public drunkenness and vagrancy so when we see homeless people many assume

Lost And Found Of American History
Lost and Found of American History There is a conflict going on in America. The youth of
America are being taught false and inconsistent facts about the history of the country they call
home. The conflict is between those who want a more patriotic history taught to children and
young adults, while the other side wants the whole truth, including the ugly details of terrible
times, of the foundation of this country taught in schools as well as in children s literature that
claim to be historically accurate. The average American textbook gives very little detail about the
real history of the country and leave out large portions that do not adhere to the stereotypical
history of the American dream. Children s books, such as the American Girl and Little House
series are just two examples of historical fiction for adolescents that are to some extent
misrepresentative of the lifestyle of different generations of the past and are supposed to be factual.
Contrary to popular belief and the amount of information distributed in history textbooks the
English colony at Plymouth, Massachusetts in 1620 was not the first permanent colony established
by the English (Loewen 72). In May 1607, 105 men, plus the crew of the ships, came ashore on
the banks of the James River in what is now known as the Commonwealth of Virginiato settle what
was to be known as Jamestown (Dabney 1 5). These settlers came to the New World aboard the
Susan Constant, Godspeed, and Discovery (Dabney 1). In

Babe Didrikson Essay
You can t win them all, but you can try This is a quote from the greatest woman athlete, Babe
Didrikson. Have you ever heard of her? Well, Babe didrikson was the world s greatest woman
athlete alive, playing golf, track and field, tennis, and basketball. Everyone wondered how she had
so much talent but no one ever understood.
Babe was born with the talents to be an amazing athlete. She was born on June 26th, 1911 in Port
Arthur, Texas. Her name wasn t actually Babe, it was Mildred. They began calling her Babe after
she hit 5 homeruns in her 1st game. She had 6 siblings, Dora, Esther Nancy, Ole jr, Louis, Lillie,
and Arthur. Babe was the 4th oldest out of them all. When she was a teenager she made the
basketball team her freshman year, but not her sophomore because she was too small. In her
junior year, and still no more than 5 feet tall, she made the varsity squad and became the star on
the team. After one of her basketball games, she was offered to play on a big time basketball
team for the Employers Casualty Insurance Company. She left school in February of 1929 to go
play play basketball with them, and returned in June to take her graduation exams ( Schoor 11 33).

Essay on Ghost Story of the New Jersey Devil
The New Jersey Devil
The Legend of the Jersey Devil is the most prominent legend that is told to citizens of New Jersey;
it is mainly told to elementary school aged children. There are a variety of settings that the story
has; however, the most common location that is used when retelling the tale is Leeds Point, NJ,
which is in the Pine Barrens region of the state. This tale of the Jersey Devil recounts the existence
of a supernatural creature that is said to have terrorized the New Jersey Pine Barrens and
surrounding areas for the last 260 years. The teller of this version of the legend is a Caucasian
female who is eighteen years of age and attends the University of Maryland. She comes from a
middle class family and believes in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After a few months of being confined to the basement, the devil flapped its wings and flew out
the chimney, and the Shrouds family never saw it again. People s animals started to disappear,
and they blamed the devil for it. They said that it started to kill and eat the flocks. Some people
even said that the Jersey Devil would terrorize little children because it was jealous it could never
be a normal child. Ever since then, the devil has been spotted in different places in the New Jersey
Pine Barrens, making that same screaming noise.
There exist many different types of storylines about the New Jersey Devil. Despite these
discrepancies, most of the versions have the name Leeds involved. For example, in the version
that I collected, Mrs. Shrouds lived in Leeds Point; however, in other forms of this story, the
woman s name was Mrs. Leeds. Most tales of the New Jersey Devil involve this woman who had
one too many children and placed a cursed on her unborn child. This tale also ties into the study of
magic since the mother of the Jersey Devil cursed her unborn child, causing it to be born as the
deformed creature that it is known to be today. In some cases, as in the story described above,
numerological superstition plays a roll and the devil is the thirteenth child, while other versions
maintain that the child was actually the sixth or seventh to be born into the family. Another account
of the origin of the

  • 2. Forced Equality In Kurt Vonnegut s Harrison Bergeron In 1961 Kurt Vonnegut wrote a short story titled Harrison Bergeron. The story starts out, The Year was 2081, and everybody was finally equal. They weren t only equal before God and the law. They were equal every which way. (Vonnegut) Forced equality is the major theme in this short story, taking many features away from the characters including, their independent thought, their individuality, and their constitutional rights. Harrison Bergerontakes place in the future where everyone is subjected to wearing devices, also known as handicaps, that takes away unequaled, unsurpassed characteristics of the each person, in order to make every person average and equal to one another. Two of the main characters George and Hazel Bergeron are the first example of this ruling that we see in the story. George is described as intelligent and strong and therefore is subjected to many handicaps where his wife, Hazel Bergeron is considered to be average and therefore is not subjected to any handicaps. Benjamin Reed describes Hazel as, so average even her name is the eye color between brown and blue. Her natural mental state is equivalent to George s natural mind. (7) Reed later describes their son, Harrison Bergeron as, [possessing] amazing strength, god like beauty and stature and (presumably) a piercing intelligence, (8) all of the features that the United States Handicapper General, Diana Moon Glampers, is trying to make uniform and equivalent. • 3. GNS 3 Command Analysis Carefully write down what you see on the GNS3 screens. (Unfortunately, it is impossible to copy the texts of the GNS3 screens and paste them into the browser you are using to take this course.) Type sudo tcpdump xx i eth0 into this terminal. You can stop it after a few minutes by entering CTRL c . Note that this command displays only 4 lines, like this: which is enough for all but one of the questions. The sudo tcpdump xx s0 i eth0 command must be used to see the whole frame. This command will collect all Ethernet frames passing through interface eth0 and display them as 8 byte lines in hexadecimal. 0x0010 is the number of the first byte of the line in hexadecimal (0x: notation often used in languages to denote hexadecimal). Each pair of characters then represents the value of one byte. Each line contains 16 bytes. Here, 0x0010 is the number of the first byte of the second line, which is the 16th byte of the frame, hence 10 in hexadecimal.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 4. Public School Vs. Public Schools Midterm Paper When we look at the United States, we see a a nation found on the basis of Christianity which is put together to follow the bible and principles of God. Yet we live in a world where at some public school s like Kankakee School District 111 that I attended where the bible isn t taught or spoke on in classes. Although at private schools they focus on Christianity because of the school being private rather than public. I feel like Christianity should be taught in public schools just like private school s teach it because some families can afford to send their children to private school s, while other families are less fortunate that they have to send their children to a public school. Within the ever changing population growth and the changing of religious views, it s becoming difficult keeping the Christian value in public school systems since new religions and new beliefs are flooding into the nation let alone the school systems. I see that private educationcost thousands of dollars each semester to stay in school while public school doesn t cost nearly a few hundreds of dollars if any. Public school s get treated so differently than private school s in every way because at private school s you get a uniform whereas public school s parents spend money to make sure students have clothes to wear five days of the week. Private school s focus on religious beliefs with uniforms, statues, buildings and etc, while public schools doesn t have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Relationship Between Revolution, State Reform, And... The relationships between revolution, state reform, and industrialization came in a succession form. The ideas that were brought to light during the revolutions later defined how the states were reformed. The reformed states would later take on industrialization. During the American and French Revolutions some ideas were brought up that later defined the state formations. The idea of popular sovereignty allowed for states to become more democratic. This idea to allow the people to have some authority over the sovereign was brought about by John Locke. People wanted freedom, individual freedom to be exact. In terms of political and legal equality, the idea was that all individuals would be equal under the law. State reformation began through acquiring independence. Independence was acquired by means of war and conflict. There was later American, Haitian, Brazilian, and Mexican independence. For the Haitian Revolution, a slave revolt broke out and was led by a man named Toussaint L Ouverture. Mexico became independent due to Napoleon invading Spain and weakening the royal control of the colonies and the independence movement led by SimГіn Bolivar. Pedro the King s son agreed to an independent Brazil. Industrialization began through new inventions and use of material. Coal replaced the use of wood. Some of the new inventions included the fluttering shuttle, spinning mule, water driven power loom, steam power, and different modes of transportation. Social classes were formed, ... • 6. Case Study Of Daimler-Benz And Colrysler incentives to sell cars. In addition, Chrysler had been on brink of bankruptcy some times before; and it was already on the side of maturity stage with declining growth. The simple motive of the merger was to take advantages of each other s distribution networks global supplier base, thereby saving costs thanks to high volumes. Daimler Benz could gain access to Chrysler s distribution networks in North America, while Chrysler could reach out to Europe market thanks to Daimler Benz s networks. Goldman Sachs was just brought in to make the deal happen. In addition, equal status of both parties in the merger, as Schrempp said, did not exist, and the promise that one day, the American would hold the highest management position in Daimler was... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Moreover, Daimler Benz s and Chrysler s brand images were completely opposite, which makes them lose their own intrinsic value if they would merge together. Again, the clash in cultures and values took them apart and a harmony within the new company seemed to be impossible. In addition, with the purpose of protecting sales of Daimler s luxury and uncompromising quality products like Mercedes, some core vehicles of Chrysler, such as Dodge Neon and the Jeep Grand Cherokee, were sidelined in favor of Daimler s products. Apparently, Chrysler s products are always within cost control, while Daimler Benz s vehicles are less cost effective. Merging with Daimler Benz, Chrysler hadn t earned as many benefits as expected, but already faced a severe internal competition which harmed it business not only in the US market, but also hindered Chrysler s plan of expansion in Europe. Practically, from Chrysler s point of view, instead of benefiting from synergy savings and instead of promoting its brand in new market, the merger with Daimler Benz actually put Chrysler into a bigger chaos and ... • 7. Descriptive Statistics In Table 2 After conducting an analysis of descriptive statistics, as found in Table I, the results reveal that $224.6 million dollars (M=$4.16 million, SD=$2.99 million) was spent across the 54 multimedia rights agreements during the 2015 2016 school year. The smallest financial payout is $375,000 and belongs to Northern Illinois, while the largest contract $12,358,087 million, belonging to the Universityof Texas. The disparity among institutions becomes more evident when analyzing the multimedia rights contracts. Of the $224.6 million dollars spent during the 2015 2016 season, $182.3 million was spent on institutions who compete in one of the Power 5 conferences, meaning that the 31 Power 5 institutions in this study receive 81.2% of the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In terms of total spending, IMG is followed by Learfield (sum = $82.3 million), JMI (sum = $11.9 million). It is important to note that JMI is relatively new when it comes to college multimedia rights contracts, and only has two institution, which is reflected in their low total payout. However, as illustrated in Table VI, JMI has a higher average payout than the two larger companies, IMG and Learfield, (M=$5.93 million, SD= $4.7 million). JMI will see an increase in their average payout during the 2016 2017 as well as during the 2017 2018 seasons with addition of Clemson who will make $2.6 million to $7.7 million during the respective seasons. IMG and Learfield are relatively similar in average payouts, with IMG averaging $4.53 million (SD = $3.52 million) and Learfield averaging $3.74 million (SD= $1.87 million). IMG and Learfield, both with over 20 contracts a piece have a far greater range of contract sizes, with IMG controlling both the smallest payout, $375,000, and the largest payout, $12.36 million. The variables outlined in Table VII were used in an attempt to explain the effect that numerous factors have on the guaranteed rights fee that a university receives from a third party rights holder. Those variables were separated into four categories; property related, football performance, basketball performance, and demand indicators. • 8. E214 TMA01 Essay E214 TMA01 This essay highlights and discusses models of disability reflected in two separate articles (Appendices A and B). I will identify the models of disability they represent. Both have been recently featured in the Guardian newspaper and are stories on disabled people. Appendix A was reported some years ago but continues to evoke opinion and has featured again recently due to a similar case. Ashley is a profoundly disabled girl, who at six years old has a mental age of 3 months. Her parents decided on controversial treatment for her, as her condition would not improve. Ashley has undergone surgery to remove her uterus and breasts, and for three years she received hormone treatment to keep her weight and height low. It ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This Rights model, more specifically Ashley s human rights is very present in the article. It could be argued that she doesn t need or require the treatment to medically improve her life. The Equal and Human Rights Commission (2008) suggest that human rights are the freedoms that we are all entitled to as a result of our shared humanity. I understand that she is unable to speak and is unlikely to have the mental capacity to make that decision but does that automatically transfer that decision to her parents? The United Nations Convention on the Rights for a Child (1989) plays an important part of the Rights model for this text as I feel it both supports and opposes the parent s actions. Article 23 concentrates on children s disability by stating that Children who have any kind of disability have the right to special care and support, as well as all the rights in the Convention, so that they can live full and independent lives. This could support Ashley s parent s motives. However, Article 3 states The best interests of children must be the primary concern in making decisions that may affect them. All adults should do what is best for children. When adults make decisions, they should think about how their decisions will affect children. In this case are the parents doing what s best for Ashley or themselves? This is a good example where the Rights model can get itself in a twist! The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Sports And Sports Fanatics My everyday routine is nothing short of excitement, the thrill I get from my everyday life is seeing what is going on in the sports realm. Sports controls my everyday activities and makes me who I am. I have an extreme passion and love for almost every sport known to mankind. I am a hard core typical sports fanatic in today s world. The first reason is sports controls how I act and talk. Secondly, I spend an excessive amount of time consuming sports activities. Perhaps the trait the plays the biggest role in making me such a huge fanatic is the amount of money I put into sports. First off, my vocabulary and the way I talk is often controlled by sports and my passion for the games. Just like most sports fans I love to trash talk especially when my teams are succeeding. For example, when I go to a sports event if my team is winning I love rubbing it in the faces of the supporters for the opposing team. Sports affects how I talk by effecting my mood based on my teams performances whether it is good or bad. For instance, when the Philadelphia Eagleslose my mood is atrocious and I speak negatively with little hope in my voice. However, when they win I use much more positive words through the week and I become upbeat. Often people know if the Eagles won their game based on how I act and speak. The way I talk is one aspect that proves that I am a typical sports fanatic that lets sports control my life. Secondly, it is obvious to the world that I am a typical ports fanatic due ... • 10. The Court Of The Crimson King In the Court of the Crimson King, the debut album by King Crimson, is widely recognised as one of the greatest progressive rock albums of all time, named by Rolling Stone Magazine as the best progressive rock album of all time, other than Pink Floyd s fabled The Dark Side of the Moon (1973). Featuring Greg Lake (later of Emerson, Lake Palmer) on vocals and bass guitar, Robert Fripp(who later played for David Bowie, Brian Eno, and with Andy Summer from The Police) on guitars, Ian McDonald (who later joined Foreigner) on wind, keys and vibraphone, and Michael Giles on drums and percussion, the album was released in 1969 with a now famous painting (by Barry Godber) of the Schizoid Man sung about in the first track as the record sleeve.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That being said, around the 3.40 mark, the solo appears to become more indulgent, and more of an acquired taste than before. Thankfully, the saxophone returns at 4.20, with the riff used in the earlier saxophone solo, and pulls the jam back into a more melodic territory. That is followed by a few short riffs in free time, before returning to the main riff for a third verse around 5.50. The main riff is repeated until about 6.40, when the song slowly starts accelerating, finishing in 20 seconds of psychedelic cacophony which is simply too much for many listeners. The second track, I Talk to the Wind , provides a mellow rest after the dense amalgamation of noises towards the conclusion of the first track. The song starts with a flute, before a double tracked harmony vocal begins the main section of the song. It is a slow ballad, where the complex drum lines are a lot lower in the mix, which allows for a softer, more melodic direction. Fripp s use of a dark and jazzy guitar timbre lets the guitar s harmonics provide a smooth accompaniment for the vocals and wind instruments. The major 7 chords also provide a slightly jazzy feel, before moving to an F# minor 7, to resolve to a B major. This minor 7 gives a great suspended feel (in place of a Bsus4), allowing Lake s vocals to follow a more fluid path. The wind driven ballad is well mixed, but at times, the wind can be a little loud, and harsh in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These changes occurred due to the existence of different point of views. The North did not need slavery and acknowledge the cons of slavery while the South s want for slavery quickly became a need. After the American Revolution, The North slowly started to rid itself of slavery while the South implemented slavery into their daily lives. As the North finally gets rid of all slave activity, the South becomes more and more dependent on slave labor and more embedded into the system. Both free and enslaved Africans were discriminated against in this time period but responded differently towards their challenges. African Americans found ways to cope with their situation one being religious gatherings (Doc D). They sang old traditional African songs and danced. Some slaves where more violent than other and began rebellions against their white owners. Some fans believe that the increase of popularity of sports other than baseball, such as football, can be attributed to the average size of football stadiums and the average game attendance. Americans in general like for things to be bigger and better and the statistics for football stadium size and attendance show football facts far exceed baseball facts. By comparison, the Los Angeles Dodgers, of the MLB, has the biggest stadium in baseball seating 56,000 ( ESPN ). These devices allow a new level of connectedness that previous cellular phones did not make possible. With smartphones, people can now communicate with others through a plethora of different communication services and protocols. Each of these communication methods sends a notification to a smartphone, which results in a buzz and/or flashing light to alert the user. The most important element is the amount of free will the character has. In every tragedy, the character must display free will. A tragic hero must be brave and noble. Hamlet is the perfect example of the tragic hero. Hamlet has all the good traits needed to be a tragic hero. He is brave and daring. One example of this is that when he went to England, he was taking a big risk and knew they were out to kill him. His loyalty to his father, was the reason he was so angry with Claudius and his Mother. Eric Bentley said that a Tragedy is dependent on comedy. Comic relief is used in tragedies to change the atmosphere of the reader, who is constantly focusing on the death and corruption of a tragedy. If a play were full of the death and sorrow, as in tragedies, it would make the reader very depressed and not like the play. Some examples of this in Hamlet, are in the Gravedigger Scene, Talking to the Skull and the Throwing of the book. Towards the end of the play, there are two scenes in the graveyard. One is when Hamlet picks up a skull, and the gravedigger tells him that the skull belonged to Yorick, the old king s jester. Hamlet tells Horatio that he knew Yorick, and then realizes what we all become after we die, dust. He then plays with the idea of life and death, and describes the finality of it. • 22. A Brief Note On Work And Life Balance Work and Life balance has become a consequential topic about a few decades ago up until today. Work life balance was originally derived in the 1970 s to refer to the balance that exists in one s professional life and personal one (Newman Matthews, 1999). In the past decade or so, there has sparked a curiosity in the work life balance realm. More and more studies and research came about on the topic and attracted the attention of scholars, the government, press, etc. This increase in curiosity could be driven by the worry that a lack of adequate work life balance could spillover into health and even lower productivity for organizations. Today, we see that most people are working harder and longer than they ever were which makes it nearly unimaginable to attain that crucial work life balance. Having a sustainable work life balance means that there occurs adequate work functioning as well as the home with there being little to no role conflict (Sturges Guest, 2004). Sturges and Guest (2004) also discuss that there are graduates that are pulled into situations where they have to work lengthy hours which inevitably leads to a poor balance in the work and life aspect. At the core foundation of this, work life balance characteristics are contingent upon the various communicationmethods that occur in one s organization. Having both formal and informal forms of communication, are crucial for both mentally and physically in order to be happy in the workplace. This paper focuses ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Cold weather causes their skin to crack and discolor because they are meant to have oily skin and are able to adapt to warmer climates better than others (Aretha C Smith) (William Robertson Boggs). Although exercise bikes (fitness bikes, studio bikes) received a bad rap for a number of years, being used as clothes hangers, etc., the new versions are sleek, silent, and easy to use. There are two basic types of bikes, the upright and the recumbent. An upright is what most people think of when they think of fitness bikes. The upright is closest to a regular bike, narrow saddle, pedals below the rider, handle bars out front. On the other hand, a recumbent exercise bike has a wider seat with a small back support. The pedals are out front, and the rider is in a reclined position. Both bikes have good and bad points as we shall see. The traditional setup of an upright bike allows the rider to more closely simulate an actual bike ride than possible with a recumbent. The rider is able to stand, assume a race crouch, or a neutral position. Trouble is, if the rider has any sort of back problems, especially lower back, an upright can irritate the condition leading to worse problems. An upright is more difficult to get on and off of because of a higher proximity to the ground. This can be problematic for older or overweight people. An upright takes up less room than a recumbent.
