Referencing In Essays
Writing an essay on the topic of "Referencing in Essays" can pose a challenge for various
reasons. First and foremost, mastering the intricacies of proper referencing requires a deep
understanding of different citation styles, such as APA, MLA, Chicago, or Harvard. Each style
comes with its own set of rules and guidelines, demanding meticulous attention to detail to
ensure accuracy.
Furthermore, the process of referencing involves not only citing sources within the text but also
creating a comprehensive bibliography or works cited page. This requires careful organization
and adherence to specific formatting rules, which can be time-consuming and mentally taxing.
Additionally, staying up-to-date with the latest changes in citation guidelines can be demanding,
as citation styles are periodically updated to reflect changes in the academic landscape. Keeping
abreast of these modifications and implementing them correctly in an essay adds an extra layer
of complexity to the task.
Moreover, the challenge extends beyond the technical aspects. Integrating references seamlessly
into the narrative while maintaining the flow of the essay and ensuring coherence can be a
delicate balancing act. It requires a keen understanding of when and how to incorporate citations
to enhance the overall argument without disrupting the reader's engagement.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of referencing involves navigating a complex
landscape of rules, styles, and technical details. It demands a high level of precision,
organization, and a deep understanding of the subject matter. However, for those seeking
assistance, it's worth noting that there are resources available. Similar essays and much more can

The Theme Of Madness And Insanity In William
Shakespeare s...
l, Introduction
This papers goal will be to discuss whether Hamlet is feigning his insanity or if he
uses it as a tool to reach his ends. The theme of madness is a common tool used in
William Shakespeare s Hamlet. Most of it is centred about the protagonist young
Hamlet himself. Beginning with the appearance of the ghost of Hamlet s father, from
early on in the play, Hamlet and others are forced to question their grasp on reality,
as well as their own possibility for believing in the existence of the Supernatural.
And yet, Hamlet is not alone in his apparent struggle with insanity. Hamlet s love
interest Ophelia too, suffers from a particular kind of madness after her father is
murdered and it gets reinforced by Hamlet s rejection and betrayal. ... Show more

He never explicitly explains his own motives not even in his soliloquies. We have
to keep in mind that the situation of the play is already developed before he comes
on the stage and the full solution is reached only after his death. Hamlet s tendency
for hesitation or passivity is reason for a lot of criticism, justified or not However,
it comes into full maturity when it comes to the task given by the ghost of old
Hamlet. The prince is constantly putting of the instruction for that he is not ready
and not done thinking about it. For him it naturally poses as a moral struggle; it is
not his private revenge that he has to carry out but he is merely the sword of a
greater invisible power. It appears that his tragic erroris his inability to act and his
tendency towards reflection that ultimately leads to his death. As it stands Hamlet is
not someone who is lacking insight but rather someone who is caught between being
and doing. These inner conflict modern psychologists know as neurosis, and it is only
by study of neurosis that one can learn the fundamental motives and instincts that
move men. (Philips 2009). Being the victim of a neurosis would certainly attest the
theory of insanity, however it lacks

While you may have spent a lot of time working on your goals for the next year,
there are plenty of things that are going to get in your way to achieving them.
Before we go any further let s establish the use of language here. Goals can be
substituted with objectives, targets, outcomes, achievements, resolutions, aims,
ambitions and any others you can think of. For the purpose of this report, the writer
will use Goal.
How often have you started off the year, or next phase of your development with
good intentions, and some goals of what you want to achieve, only to find that
somehow you never see to achieve them? What I will cover in this article is the 9
biggest obstacles that will get in your way. I will take each one in turn and explore
what is behind it, why it is there, and more importantly the action you can take to put
it to one side.
What I will also do is evidence this be using the responses of a survey conducted
with Sole Traders, and owners of Small and medium Enterprises (SME s), identifying
The Border Patrol State Essay
The Border Patrol State
In The Border Patrol State Leslie Silko makes accusations of the border patrol s
mistreatment of American citizens of Mexican decent, making the argument with
almost evidence. Silko, a critically acclaimed poet, sees the border patrol as a
governmental assembly addicted to interrogation, torture, and the murder of those
they see fit.
Leslie Silko certainly makes accusations that some could argue far exceed the
boundaries of journalism integrity, and fail to deliver with evidence to back them up.

They are pushed around and even have the dog unleashed on them. She goes onto

border patrol discriminates, and how they will do their best to find any reason to
bring the brown man down. Silko explains the way in which people are detained.
She actually reaches out to the reader and tells him or her personally how they
could identify themselves being detained. She makes claims throughout this
explanation of how the detainee is treated unjustly, like when she states, They
make it clear that if you force them to obtain a search warrant for the car, they will
make you submit to a strip search as well (125). Silko starts to bring some half way
evidence into the picture by talking about the more high profile cases of the abuse
of the border patrol s power. She gives us more facts as we reach the middle of the

The Internet Economy Within Digital Media
The Internet economy within Digital Media
Digital Media has changed over the years, making a substantial impact on society,
as technology is linking people from across the world in ways that would seem
nearly impossible years ago. The global online population is currently 1.2 billion,
projected to grow to 1.8 billion by 2010, According to Central Intelligence Agency
statistics collected in 2005 and 2006. Media within society is constantly changing,
which makes it critical for advertisers to keep up with improving technology and the
transformation that occurs within it. The internet has provided a channel for
consumers, which has now the first port of call for finding information to select or
buy the best deal.

If you type up a blog or an online journal as a personal publishing tool you could
become an author. This tool is something not seen in the mass media, and the
individuals participating in them are often the influencers, who are more valuable
than the average consumer. Blogs also are an opportunity to mass communicate
directly and quickly with customers, in an easy to read format, without going through
slow corporate processes. It does however run the risk of having negative feedback
because it is self regulated, but through collaboration can spark positive comments. It
is essentially an opportunity to create interactive platforms that initiate discussions
for collaboration.
A prime example of a company utilizing digital media over the computer is Verizon,
whom adopted a digital workplace in an attempt to connect the vast amount of
employees nationwide. This included all online systems, tools, information channels
regardless of geographic location. The business place includes some of Verizon s
cutting edge communication tools with an access to an intranet portal, called eWeb.
This tool is a voice recognition portal service that allows voice activated access to
intranet functions and information using any telephone. This voice portal allows
employees to call and send audio file e mails to other employees; which is
particularly useful among the employees that travel a lot. On top of that, they
Sexual Fantasy Within The Odyssey

Sexual Fantasy Within The Odyssey In the Odyssey, by Homer, Homer suggests that
women can be seductive traps that prevent or delay men from reaching their goals.
The women that Odysseus encounters on his journey home in The Odyssey all
represent a different sexual fantasy figure in the eyes of a male, and serve as a
distraction that he must work around. Although the three women that Odysseus
encounters on his travels are desirable to him, the only thing that he wants is to get
home to his devoted wife. The soft, alluring, pastoral sensuality of Calypso, the
purity, youth and innocence of the young Nausicaa, and the adventurously sexy
Circe are no contest to the loyal and faithful Penelope. Penelope holds aspects of
each of these three women, making her the most sought after by Odysseus. The
goddess Calypso resides in a cave on an island. The lush and blossomed forest that
surrounds her cave symbolizes the idea of and new life, whereas the cave itself
represents a womb. Around her cave the woodland was in bloom,...Four separate
springs flowed with clear water, crisscrossing channels as they meandered through
meadows lush with parsley and blossoming violets (Odyssey, 5. 67 76). These
symbols of fertility are important to males, especially during the time period that the
Odyssey portrays when a woman s primary duty was to birth children and raise them.
Odysseus was forced to stay on the island with Calypso for
Literature Supports Children’s Personality
Development
Personality development is the development of the organized pattern of behaviors
and attitudes that makes a person distinctive (Laberge, 2006). Adults, especially
parents and teachers, are principal components of these environments and therefore
play a powerful role in helping or hindering children in their personality and
cognitive development (Morrison, 2007, p. 99). According to Erikson (2007),
children s personalities and social skills grow and develop within the context of
society and in response to society s demands, expectations, values, and social
institutions, such as families, schools, and other child care programs (pp. 98 99).

181). Literature can help children develop positive self concepts through content
and also through activities, which may follow the sharing of a book (Giorgis et
al., 2009, p. 179). A child s personality development is part of who they are and
who they can become; therefore, selecting the right book for a certain child could
help the child deal with a problem or situation they are dealing with at that exact
moment. The New Baby written by Cyndy Szekeres is a story that has a concept
that relates to all four stages. This story contains content that help adults and
babies bond and share quality time. Reading to a baby does not require much, just
hearing the soothing voices of an adult can help increase the trust in a child. The
natural sounds and patterns of speech can help the infant in their language
development. The story also contains events in the story, in which Tiny Mouse is
learning how to adapt to his surroundings. Things are changing in his home with a
new baby, for example no one has time to get his clothes or feed him his breakfast.
He has to adjust to being a big brother now. Through this ordeal, Tiny Mouse learns
how to become independent and help himself achieve the unknown. He learns to
help with the baby, choose a book for himself, and help pull a wagon. He is learning
to build his self esteem and learning to be
How Insects Are Affected By Different Food And...
Animal behavior can be defined as how animals respond to different environmental
inducements (Schussler 2014). Furthermore, by studying how animal s react to these
stimulus we can determine what shapes an animals behavior. In addition, the way an
insect travels can define how prosperous or how non prosperous an insect will be in
finding vital resources such as finding nutrients, reproducing, and their habitat
location (Romero et. al. 2010). One interesting question is how insects are affected
by different food and environmental ques. Based upon earlier research conducted by
Stephen P. Yanoviak, insects prefer salt when compared against to sugar because
they are less exposed to salt. (Sanders 2008). For that reason, in this study we are
investigating how the flour beetle(Tribolium spp.) is affected by a variety of food
resources. From earlier research conducted on ground beetles, the researchers found
that beetles feast on a variety of food sources (Lovei Sunderland, 1996). The reason
we are studying this is because we believe that the type food sourceplays a dynamic
role in flour beetle behavior. One question that lead us to perform this study is that
food is a vital resource that beetles must have to survive. We wanted to see what
food sources is most influential and why. This study was focused on how beetle
behavior is influenced by a variety of food sources. We conducted two test in this
study. We based our first hypothesisoff of earlier research on the topic.
1984 Doublethink Analysis
The Role of Doublethink in The Government of 1984 War is peace. Freedom is
slavery. Ignorance is strength, . The following quote originates from the infamous
novel, 1984 by George Orwell. The significance of this popular quote was to display
an example of the action of doublethink. Doublethink is the act of having two
contradictory thoughts at the same time and believing both are true. Doublethink
plays an influential role in the novel, 1984. The novel takes place in a super state by
the name of Oceania which covers the entire continents of our America in reality. The
main character of this novel is Winston Smith, a thirty nine year old Party member
who works at the Ministry of Truth correcting errors in past publication who has a...

For the Party, the past not fixed and permanent; its reality is evident only in records,
(Becnel 11). Throughout the novel, it was often mentioned that the Party hired
workers such as the main protagonist, Winston, to alter history the way they wanted
it. If the Party has control over what was written down in history, they can easily
manipulate their citizens to believe anything that they claim is true. This ability of
control over history has also opened up the opportunity to alter the memories of the
citizens of Oceania. Being able to control the memories of the people and causing
them to believe one thing and another is an example of doublethink. The Party used
doublethink in order to increase and strengthen their power over the citizens. Power
is also a factor that revolves around the action of doublethink. Becnel mentions the
importance of doublethink and power in his critic upon the novel, Doublethink is the
foundation on which the Party s power rests, (Becnel 11). Becnel s claim basically
states that in order to maintain and strengthen their power, the Party must resort to
doublethink in order to have better control of their citizens. Although the Party has
taken actions such as altering history and having a great amount of control over the
people to express doublethink, they have also done expressed doublethink in
Beauty Is An Integral Part Of Human Nature
The concept of beauty is an integral part of human nature. For centuries men and
women have designated a part of each day dedicating their time to their physical
appearance. In many cultures beauty is made a priority of life. This is reflective of
the expectations the media places on men and women to have a certain look. What
most do not realize is beauty is not just defined by the aesthetic pleasure of faces,
hair, bodies, and clothes, it is driven by many other factors. The concept of beauty
does not have to be tied down to the strict definition of what is visually attractive, and
should rather focus on many different aspects of the person as a whole to create a
definition of their beauty. There are many factors that contribute to what makes
something or in the case of this research, someone beautiful . The explanation for the
perceptionof beauty in one s self and in others is due in part to a biological, a
psychological, and a cultural basis working hand in hand to create what humans
believe to be beauty. Perception of beauty is manipulated greatly by the biological
evolutionary influences on human nature. All of this stems from the deeply rooted
evolutionary need to reproduce. In particular, facial beauty of a femaleor a maleis
important because the one weapon men and women have to fulfill the ultimate goal
of preserving their genes in another generation is attraction. One must be perceived as
beautiful first before any sexual attraction can occur (Wilson, 2013).
The Daughters Of Edward Darley Boit Analysis
The portrait I chose from the museum is The Daughters of Edward Darley Boit,
1882 by John Singer Sargent primarily because of the content of the portrait. As I
was walking through the museum I noticed many different portraits but this one
stuck out a lot because of how the girls in the picture are all in different areas of the
portrait and the fact that it has a much more mysterious vibe to it. Sargent depicts
four daughters; two of which are standing between two large fancy porcelain vases,
one standing alone to the opposite side of the vase and the youngest daughter alone
with a single doll. Sargent paints the subjects highlighting their clothing and
expression the most he focusses a lot on the detail of the models in the portrait rather

Another interesting component Sargent implemented in his portrait is his attention to
detail where one of the daughter has her arms hidden behind her back suggesting that
she (or her family) is hiding something. It is difficult to truly understand the meaning
of the painting without the context and history of the artist when looking at the work
s history we are able to see that when Sargent was originally sought out by Edward
Darley Boit and in his commission, he decided to create something that was different
from the traditional portrait scene. According to the mfa.org regarding Sargent s
unique perspective on the portrait it is revealed that the family was disconnected in
their relations. The daughter s strange spacing and similar clothing in the image
further alludes to the idea that even though the daughters of the family are connected
in reality there are a lot of differences that are unaccounted

Blood Transfusion Essay
Blood Transfusion, Adult
Introduction
A blood transfusion is a procedure in which you receive donated blood, including
plasma, platelets, and red blood cells, through an IV tube. You may need a blood
transfusion because of illness, surgery, or injury. The blood may come from a donor.
You may also be able to donate blood for yourself (autologous blood donation) before
a surgery if you know you might require a blood transfusion.
The blood given in a transfusion is made up of different types of cells. You may
receive:
Red blood cells. These carry oxygen to the cells in the body. Red blood cells are the
most common type of transfusion.
White blood cells. These help you fight infections.
Platelets. This helps your blood to clot.
Plasma. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Your body s defense system (immune system) may try to attack the new cells. This
complication is rare. The symptoms include fever, chills, nausea, and low back pain
or chest pain.
Infection or disease transmission. This is rare.
You will have a blood test to determine your blood type. This is necessary to know
what kind of blood your body will accept and to match it to the donor blood.
If you are going to have a planned surgery, you may be able to do an autologous
blood donation. This may be done in case you need to have a transfusion.
If you have had an allergic reaction to a transfusion in the past, you may be given
medicine to help prevent a reaction. This medicine may be given to you by mouth or
through an IV.
You will have your temperature, blood pressure, and pulse monitored before the
transfusion.
Follow instructions from your health care provider about eating and drinking
restrictions.
Ask your health care provider about:
в—‹ Changing or stopping your regular medicines. This is especially important if you
are taking diabetes medicines or blood thinners.
Taking medicines such as aspirin and ibuprofen. These medicines can thin your
blood. Do nottake these medicines before your procedure if your health care provider
instructs you not to.

Water Supply And Sanitation Within South Africa
Although there are a wide variety of contributing factors and issues related to water
supply and sanitation within South Africa, some are more prominent than others.
One of these is the continuously increasing amounts of people moving into the city
from smaller areas and villages; these larger, more dense populations of people have
also increased the water demand. To keep up and hopefully adapt to these largely
increasing needs for clean and readily available water in the cities, many plans to
prevent a more widespread lack of water supplyand sanitation in these areas have
been made. The issue is, however, that most of these plans have either not been
funded, put into action, or completed. In addition to this, the structures that are
currently in place are in poor condition or near collapsing. Some of these failed
proposals include the construction of dams, to help maintain the water supply, and
more advanced filtration systems to ensure that the water is safe for human use and
consumption. Lack of proper implementation and maintenance of plans to help with
water supply and sanitation in more populated areas is, needless to say, a majorly
contributing factor in the history of South Africas water crisis(Water).
As water supply and sanitation is either non existent or ineffective in cities and
more largely populated areas, it is also struggling in rural areas such as smaller
villages. Part of the reason why access to clean, usable water is unavailable is
because of

Egypt. Abstract 5, 10, 15, 20 tetraphenylporphyrinatocobalt(II) showed good catalytic
activity towards oxidation of 3,5 di tert butylcatechol to 3,5 di tert butyl
benzoquinone by dioxygen in dimethylformamide. The oxidation reaction was
followed by measuring dioxygen uptake. The rate constant of oxidation reaction
showed a linear dependence on catalyst concentration and saturation kinetics in both
3,5 di tert butylcatechol concentration and dioxygen pressure. The kinetic parameters
have been determined using Michaelis Menten approach. A mechanism has been
suggested for the oxidation reaction. Keywords: Cobalt(II)porphyrin complex;
oxidation; 3,5 di tert butyl catechol; dioxygen oxygen; 3,5 di tert butylbenzoquinone.

the 15th century, the Portuguese were the first to travel to undiscovered continents,
including Asia. In addition, new trading routes for Europe revealed and created an
enormous opportunity for further expansion of western imperialism. In particular,
France, although late to colonize, decided to establish its superiority over the vacant
region of Indochina. The French existence in the Indochina territory led to a tragic
legacy of aggressiveness towards the local people.
II.The Purpose of France Aggressive Colonization on Indochina
At first, the French were not interested in Indochina. However, they began to pay
more attention and later colonized it for three main reasons. Firstly, ... Show more

In Cambodia, they found silver, tin, zinc along border with Siam. Besides these
resources, France was also impressed by the agricultural products such as peppers,
tea, fruit, silk, tobacco...etc. Moreover, they attempted to find trade route to China
because trading with China provided prosperous profit to them as well. During this
period, French enjoyed trading and spreading their religion ( French Influence
Overseas , n.d). Lastly, France needed to fully control the region in order to achieve
these advantages. Although France benefited from trading in Indochina, it also faced
some major problems. When Gia Long s son, Minh Mang in the 1820s succeeded the
throne, he worked against the French because he disliked their religion. This issue
gave negative effect to French trade. When king Minh Mang ordered those
missionaries killed, French took this opportunity to use force to defeat Vietnam(
Military , n.d). They began fully control since it was more convenient for them to do
whatever they want. Quickly colonization became to emerge in the region. In 1862,
Vietnam signed an agreement gave France the three eastern province in Cochinchina.

Barriers Of Oligopolistic Competition
Oligopoly came from the Greek words where oligos means few and polein means
to sell. Oligopolistic competition is a kind of imperfect competition where only a
few firms make up the entire industry, which mean the majority of market share is
owned by a small number of large firms, but never can be one. It can be said as a
form of market structure which falls between perfect competitionmarket and
monopolistic market. (Reynolds, nd)
There are two type of oligopoly, identical product oligopoly and differentiate product
oligopoly. Identical product oligopoly more like perfect competition as it tends to
produce intermediate goods that further progress by other industry, such as aluminum
and steel. Meanwhile, differentiate product oligopoly ... Show more content on

By tradition, telecommunication companies primarily provide voice calling, text
messaging, and Internet connectivity through wireline or landline connections. But
now, the business changed into wireless along with wired internet, data, and

subscription plans for voice and data. (Marketrealist, nd) This trend continues to

business away from their table. In 2003, wireless calls for first time exceeded calls

Jeffrey Eugenides The Virgin Suicides
In The Virgin Suicides, Jeffrey Eugenides uses the characterization of Lux and the
sisters as a single entity to display the negative effects of the objectification and
othering of women in today s society. Out of the five Lisbon sisters, Lux and
Cecelia are the only two given distinct and individual personalities by the narrators.
Lux is seen almost as the ringleader to the sisters, and worshipped individually.
Cecelia is singled out from the beginning, as she is the first to commit suicide. The
other three sisters are not given the individuality that Lux and Cecelia are, and
therefore appear as a singular entity, rather than three different people. Jeffrey
Eugenides uses the characterof Lux to show the issues with the implementation of...

Eugenides writes both Lux and Cecelia as very distinct people with incredibly
specific personalities. However, throughout the entire story, both the reader and the
narrators have a difficult time discerning different personalities for each of the
remaining three sisters. Anytime the narrators bring attention to the inevitable
variances in the personalities of Bonnie, Mary, and Therese, it is done in a fashion
that prevents the reader from holding onto any of that information. Mary, Bonnie,
and Therese are given very little depth apart from the complexity given to the
sisters as a whole, unlike their younger siblings. When Cecelia s diary is found by
the narrators, they explain that many strange sentences conjure in the reader s mind
an image of a mythical creature with ten legs and five heads (Eugenides 39). This
is significant as it makes the sisters appear less human, once again. This further
objectifies and others them from the boys and the rest of the neighborhood, as it sets
them apart from their suburban norm. Louise Wandland explains in her essay
entitled We Couldn t Fathom Them at All , the novel presents us with an image of
women as others, which is problematic as it denies women subjectivity and a voice
to tell their own story (Wandland 4). The othering of the girls makes the Lisbon
sisters seem like
The Effects Of Brain Games On The Brain
From what we have learned in class about studies done on the brain there are a few
conclusions that can be made. Dr.Simons was surprised about the outcome of the
experiment he did not get strong enough results towards the outcome he wanted
/predicted. He stated it would be really nice if you could play some games and have
it radically change your cognitive abilities (Simons). One example from class to
describe the experiment done by Dr.Simons is their sensation. I believe that
something has happened so parts of the subjects sensory neurons in their eyes was not
correctly working right and they weren t able to continuously see the same object,
even after using the braingames. Another reason that could have affected their ability
to be able... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They stated that the brain games have not shown a clear benefit so far in the study
but they are not sure where the study really went wrong he thinks it is more of the
way the participates went about the study. One overall finding was that people do
not work the brain hard enough or over a long enough time period, it takes mental
effort to practice to be able to see results (Rebok). Rebok says if we can implement
that long range, I think that there will be a big dividend eventually. Simons stated
they did find a few good studies, which showed that brain games do help people get
better at a specific task. He then gave the example of scanning baggage at an
airport and looking for a knife. He says you get really, really good at spotting that
knife (Simons). Overall they got an even handed amount of results so some would
say it would help and others would say it did not, I think for them to be able to say
brain games helped they would need it to work for more than half of their participates.
Personally, I have never used a brain training game; maybe I will try one in the
future. I used this site called Membean it was to test your knowledge of vocabulary
if you know the definition could find examples of it and use it in a sentence but I
don t believe this would be an example of a brain training game. I had one girl who

Speech On Snowboarding
Imagine being at the top of the world, on a bitter cold mountain, over top of an
enormous crowd. The lustrous lights are shining below on the massive jump created
for the professional snowboard competition that will decide whether you win or lose
the competition. I have dreamed of being a professional snowboarder as my dream
job ever since I have been introduced into the sport of snowboarding. Being on top of
the enormous slope and strapping into my bindings instantly makes me feel
relaxed and puts a grin on my face. While gliding down the mountain I become
focused and dialed in on my riding. Being a professional snowboarder as an
occupation, I would compete in large competitions such as the X Games or the
Olympics to win prizes and gain popularity. The excitement from the crowd and
the view from the course would give me goosebumps as I race to the finish. This
would give me the rush of happiness and excitement every time I strap into my
bindings to compete and make it seem like I would never work a day in my life.
Competing in snowboardcompetitions as a professional snowboarder would be my
passion and dream job in life all while traveling and being with friends.
I am now a professional snowboarder that is with my friends at Mammoth
Mountain, the local resort, preparing for the X Games slopestyle competition that is

Women s Suffrage During The World
Women s suffrage in Germany 1918, sexism throughout the world, the Holocaust, and
several challenges plagued a woman throughout her entire life. Edith Stein faced
never ending difficulties due to her gender and religious affiliations. Analyzing her
theologies through the course of her life and how they changed along with sexismand
anti Semitism pressures aid in giving Stein all the respect she has earned. It can be
rather surprising when individuals learn what Edith Stein s religious upbringing
and initial theologies were compared to her mature adult life. Stein was raised by
her mother as an Ashkenazi Jew and was even born on the Jewish Day of
Atonement, Yom Kippur. Stein writes, Her mother always laid great emphasis on
the fact that her youngest was born on the holy day commemorating the offering of
sacrifices for the sins of the nation (Hill 192). This deep affection would cause
problems later for Stein, when she converts to Catholicism. However, as a child, the
family practiced Judaismvery liberally. They attended synagogue on the holy days,
obeyed some of the dietary laws (it is unknown if they kept kosher), the family
business stayed open on Sabbath, and their prayers were spoken in their native
language, German, rather than the traditional Hebrew. Because Stein was a girl, she
was given a minimal education and had limited understanding on Jewish beliefs about
salvation. Hill believes that this contributed to her leaving behind her Jewish roots
and become an

The Pros And Cons Of Anderson Water System
As we dive into the last weeks of summer, you may have heard about the water issues
that have been plaguing the Summer Olympics in Rio De Janeiro. As Anderson
Water Systems, a Rochester, NY based water purification and filtration company,
summarizes it, the waterways of the city have been used as dumping grounds for
garbage, sewage, and toxic chemicals for years, leaving the water polluted and
contaminated. Despite the assurances of the International Olympic Committee and
the recent opening of a new sewage treatment plant, various sailing teams are
continuing to err on the side of extreme caution, making sure to close their mouths so
that water won t spray up into them and washing their clothes with special
antibacterial cleansers and detergents.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many American homes could benefit from water purification and filtration systems.
Anderson Water Systems explains that although municipal water systems have come
a long way in terms of water purification, there are still other possible sources that
can cause unclean waters. Having been in business for more than 60 years, they
want you to be aware that old pipes can carry traces of lead and that natural deposits
and groundwater can contain various chemicals like arsenic, iron.
To combat these issues, Anderson Water Systems has crafted filtration systems that
will purify the water before you come in contact with it. By utilizing reverse
osmosis, these systems can filter out any contaminants and impurities. Whether we
re drinking it from a tall glass or soaking in it in the tub, water is such an integral
aspect of our daily lives. Thanks to Anderson Water Systems, not only will the water
be cleaner and healthier, it will also taste much better.

Essay on Communication Technologies in Canada
Communication Technologies in Canada
Canada is also very unique in the global economy in light of their communication
technologies. Canada is a unique country because it allows two main companies
control its communication industry. The two big players in the game are Rogers,
who control eastern Canada, and Shaw, who control western Canada.
Rogers Communication started with a vision that radio is an electric pipeline by
Edward S. Rogers, Sr. In 1925 Mr. Rogers, Sr. invented the world s first alternating
current (AC) radio tube. 1 The radio tube was a huge break through in communication
technology and in radio reception, and as a result of the invention; radios became

And to be considered a Canadian artist, an artist must contain two of these

William Blake Poet
William Blake is one of the most renowned poets in the history of English
literature. Born to the owners of a hosiery shop on Broad Street in the center of
London in 1757, William Blake developed into a toddler of extraordinary
imagination. While only a young boy (around the age of four), he spoke to his
parents of seeing angels playing amongst him, encountering visions of heaven and
hell throughout London and the nearby countryside, and spotting God keeping a
close eye on him during tasks and chores. It was not long before the young Blake
began to stencil out the visions from his imagination, and as an eleven year old, he
enlisted in Pars Drawing School to learn the art of printing and plaster casting.
Soon thereafter, Blake began to apprentice under London artist James Basire, and
as a fourteen year old, he was assigned to drawing monuments in Westminster
Abbey, which led to a lifelong admiration for Gothic art and religious illustration.
While working with Basire, Blake befriended contemporary apprentice James
Parker. Parker and Blake would later become partners in a jointly owned print shop
on Broad Street, right next door to the Blake hosiery shop and household, a
partnership that only lasted one year (1784 85). One must recall the historical context
of Blake s development from a young artist to a poet in his mid twenties. In 1775,
America began a revolution of independence from England, igniting tense controversy
in London, and the young artist witnessed an angry

happens is that Adam and Eve breaks the rule. Eve takes a bite of an apple and
brings it back for Adam to eat. Adam instead of saying no, ate it. As soon as the
rule has been broken, God seals it off and places an angel with a fiery sword at the

a wilderness in which sickness and death, hate and hunger are their constant

My Life Lesson Trough A Teacher s Eyes
The Life Lesson Trough a Teacher s Eyes, is a book written by Dr. Jillian
Laderhouse. This book is like a journal where Dr. Laterhouse tells personal
experiences that have shaped her life. The book commences off with a strongly
affirmation where Dr. Latehouse states that be a teacher is her life s calling. In the
introduction of the book Laterhouse establish her foundation as a teacher, she
mentioned many experiences that shape her as a teacher and recall the fact that she
lived in a teacher professionfamily. She mentioned stories about her childhood,
stories that have shaped her life into the teacher profession; she stated I grew in a
teacher s home . As I read the book I noticed that I have not had the same
opportunity as Laterhouse to live in a teacher s home. However, as I continue
reading the book I saw that the lessons learned by the author can help me even
though I did not grow in a teacher s home. It is evident in the book the spiritual life
and God centered life.
Laterhouse dived her book in seven lesson learned. Every lesson brings me to reflect
about God, about myself and about others. I consider that every lesson mentioned is
important I will recall those points that I consider important to my life. The first
lesson learned was from parenting. As Laterhouse mentioned as believers we have
guidance available to us through prayer and Scripture, but became believers does not
automatically equip us with the insights and techniques to be a parent. I have

Another factor contributing to the shrinking profit margins of beef producers was the
overall consistency and quality of the meat. Products such as pork and chicken were

Beef producers needed to provide a consistent, high quality product in order to be able

The Standards Of Society In The House Of The Spirits By...
It is often said that we are shaped by our environments; we all interact with our
surroundings in some form or another, and we are further influenced by and interact
with the society we live in. In fiction, characters interact the same way within their
fictional societies and social positions, as characters reflect how actual people relate
to their world. In the novel The House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende, there exist
many societal norms and standards that influence the characters and their actions in
different ways. This essay focuses on these standards and how they relate to the
character of FГ©rula Trueba, and her position in the society she lives in. Allende s
novel The House of the Spirits takes place in the religious and patriarchal society of
20th Century Chile, where the character FГ©rula embraces religious austerity and
internalizes her role as caretaker, resulting in embitterment and repression of her
feelings.
The setting of the novel begins in the early 20th century, in the Capital, where both
the del Valle familyand the Trueba family reside. The Capital is inferred to be in the
country of Chile. Many of the standards of the society are first shown through the del
Valle family and the central character, Esteban Trueba. It is clear that this society
emphasizes reputation and morality, and that it is deeply religious; Severo del Valle
is atheist, but both him and his family attend Catholic Mass because he could not
allow himself the luxury of missing the

rather than being a biological concept is cultural one, varying from culture to
culture. Both males and females are categorized by certain mannerisms, behaviors,
and interests that society has set forth expecting them to follow such rules. Women
are expected to play the role of a housewife making sure the home is a livable space
and taking of the children while on the other hand, men are expected to be the ones
who provide income for the family. In Jamaica Kincaid s short story Girl the author

Such as by giving her how to s, prohibitions and interrogations on her actions.
Kincaid writes, this is how you iron your father s khaki pants so that they don t
have a crease; this is how you grow okra far from the house...this is how you sweep
a corner; this is how you sweep a whole house; this is how you sweep a yard. This
excerpt talks about some of the roles her mother believes a woman of her culture
should follow. It shows that ironing, preparing food, and cleaning the house are
traditional female roles and are expected to be done only by the female gender. By
tradition, a man is expected to be the one who brings in the money for the household
and a woman the one to take care of the home. This stereotype sets forward the idea
that for a household to function there must be both genders present. Without a male, a
household won t have an income and without a female there won t be a progressive
Reflection Of A Homecoming Service
September 10, 2017, was the annual homecoming service at Morgantown First
Church of the Nazarene in Morgantown, Kentucky, followed by a fellowship meal.
The meal was a combination of store bought foods, simple traditional dishes like
macaroni and cheese, and special homemade dishes. Two old ping pong tables that
once served as the main food table have been replaced by white plastic tables, and
this year, the tables were even ornamented with a centerpiece to match the other
tables in the fellowship hall. The line starts on the right hand table, so people can
walk around the table to fill their plates and grab drinks before filing into the hall.
Meat is always placed first, followed by sides and casseroles before bread and
deviled eggs at the end of the procession. IGA fried chicken (wings, breasts,
drumsticks) supplied by the church and ham cooked by the pastor s husband sat
beside Elaine Johnson s homemade fried chicken tenders, which are always gone the
fastest. Homemade sides included dressing, green bean casserole, cream style corn,
pinto beans, broccoli cheese casserole, egg salad, and biscuits.
Other sides, that I refer to as simple, are recipes followed by the recipe that anyone
could fix. These taste relatively the same no matter who cooks them whereas the
homemade dishes can only be made and brought by certain people, and no one else
can prepare them exactly or as well as the original. The simple sides included honey
mustard based potato salad with bacon, green
History Of The Assembly Line
Because of the high rate at which an assembly line can produce goods, it helps the
companies with them gain more control over the economy over the nation and drive
out businesses that cannot afford an assembly line. Before the assembly line was
introduced, each Model T cost about $850, but after the assembly line, it cost less than
$300 (6 9). Henry Fordhad always envisioned a car that could be bought by the
average family (9 12). He wanted to become rich and knew that aiming to have every
American as a potential consumer was the best way to do so (11). When his prices
fell by that much, it opened the market to many more people, so the demand for a
lower price car went up, and Ford was able to sell over 850,000 Model T cars in under
Primary Factors Of Visceral Fat Deposition And...
It has also previously been proposed that other primary factors may affect both
visceral fat deposition and cardiometabolic outcomes. For instance, excess visceral
adiposity could be the consequence of an activated hypothalamic pituitary adrenal
axis leading to an increased control of carbohydrate and lipid metabolism by
glucocorticoids.74
Because visceral adipocytes have more glucocorticoid receptors than subcutaneous
adipose cells, such an activated hypothalamic pituitary adrenal axis may promote
preferential fat deposition in the visceral adipose depot while at the same time
inducing insulin resistance in the liver and in the skeletal muscle.74
Other possibly important key players are gonadal steroids. Indeed, very informative

There is less controversy concerning the effects of fructose on components of
metabolic syndrome; consumption of fructose has been shown to increase
visceral adipose deposition and de novo lipogenesis (DNL), produce dyslipidemia,
and decrease insulin sensitivity in older, overweight/obese subjects. 83,84 Bray
and his colleagues study the relation between the intake of high fructose corn syrup
(HFCS) and the development of obesity. They analyzed food consumption patterns
by using US Department of Agriculture food consumption tables from 1967 to
2000. The consumption of HFCS increased 1000% between 1970 and 1990, far
exceeding the changes in intake of any other food or food group. HFCS now
represents 40% of caloric sweeteners added to foods and beverages and is the sole
caloric sweetener in soft drinks in the United States. Their estimation of the
consumption of HFCS indicates a daily average of 132 kcal for all Americans aged
≥ 2 y, and the top 20% of consumers of caloric sweeteners ingest 316 kcal from
HFCS/d. The increased use of HFCS in the United States mirrors the rapid increase in
obesity. The digestion, absorption, and metabolism of fructose differ from those of
glucose. Hepatic metabolism of fructose favors de novo lipogenesis. In addition,
unlike glucose, fructose does not stimulate insulin secretion or enhance leptin
production. Because insulin and leptin act as key afferent
Analysis Of Mirrors By Eduardo Galeano
Mirrors by Eduardo Galeano Throughout this book, Galeano had stories that showed
our history and the brutality in life The stories in the book displayed themes
including fear, racism, depression, slavery and violence. For example, I happen to
know from my previous classes regarding the history of African Americans including
from an author by the name of Toni Morrison who suggests humanity started with
Africans. There was similar information from one story called A Feast On Foot and
within the story was the line The human adventure in the world began in Africa
(Galeano 1) however there was the first line that stated Adam and Eve were black?
which could suggest racism. Other examples Galeano relates to include how violent
we humans have been which is presented into stories such as The Torturer s
Confession and We Were All Executioner s. One line that got my attention that tied
both of them together was understanding that the most enthusiastic punishers were
also the most enthusiastic sinners (101). It is my understanding knowing that
punishers and sinners both caused torture and mistreatment toward humanity no
matter what race, gender or color they might be. Violence was portrayed in both a
racist and religious matter in very few stories Galeano presented especially on
pages 122 128 when he told of stories about the devil being the following: Muslim,
Jewish, black, poor, foreign, homosexual gypsy and Indian. Despite how people view
their religious beliefs, there was
Senior Prom Memories
I have a lot of good memories of my senior prom. The Hilton s California ballroom,
the dancing, and socializing with friends were some of the memories. But most of
all, the food was the best memory of all. The food served at Castlemont High s
senior prom was colorful and delicious. One could not help but to see, smell, and
eventually consume the food. The meal consisted of hors d oeurves, the main course,
beverages, and dessert. All of these delicacies combined made the prom a satisfying
experience.
I remember vividly the set of hors d oeurves. The hors d oeurves were arranged in a
big heart to set the mood of mystery and romance. The bright crimson bell pepper
stood mighty in the face of its relative, the humble, dull, green pepper. The darkened
pieces of beef had visible hints of all purpose seasoning and slivers of onions. The
dull pink jumbo shrimp looked like crescent moons, outrageously swollen, and just
about ready to bust out of their transparent, segmented shells.
The smell of hors d oeurves served to whet the appetite of all in attendance. The
hickory smell of beef stood out to draw everyone near. The shrimp had a salty smell
with a hint of ocean water. The bell peppers, both green and red, had a tart smell,
compared to their fleshy counterparts. My taste buds watered, but nothing could
compare to the next course I was about to see.
After devouring the hors d oeurves, the main course was set before us. The
arrangements of Chinese styled

Chemical Reactions
A chemical reaction is a chemical change that occur when chemical bonds between
atoms are formed or broken. The substance that goes into a chemical reaction is the
reactant, and the substances produced produced at the end of the reaction are known
as products. Chemical reactions are all around us constantly occurring, anything from
a candle burning to the rusting on a fence are examples of a chemical reaction.
Chemical reactions can be noticed by Chemical Change some example of chemical
change are change in temperature, change in color, bubbles, precipitate, light, and

Compounds are formed by combination of atoms in simple ratios to give compound
atoms. The theory was the basis of modern chemistry Dalton s theory provided a basis
for understanding the results of earlier experimentalists, including the The Law for
Conservation of Matter and the Law of Constant Composition, which stated all
samples of a substance have identical elemental compositions. These theory s and
experiments defined the concept of chemical reactions.
Thousands of known chemical reactions occur in living things, in industrial processes
and in laboratories. To more easily predict the outcome of chemical reactions a basic
system of classification was put in place for chemical reactions. The system
categorized the reactions into five different groups Synthesis, Decomposition, Single
Replacement Reaction, Double Replacement, and Combustion reactions.
When scientists are creating new compounds from other substances, chemists say
they are synthesizing a new material. A synthesis reaction is a reaction where two or
more elements or compounds combine to from one compound. This reaction type
fallows this general form A + B = AB
Where A and B can be either compounds or elements. For example 2Na + Cl = 2NaCl

The Impact Of Reconstruction And Its Impact On African...
History has been marked by many major events and people throughout the years.
Today that has not changed, changes, people and events keep presenting themselves
making a mark in history for future generations to hear, learn, and study them. One
interesting topic in history is Reconstruction. To further understand Reconstruction,
one needs to know what happened during this period, how it came to exist and the
impact it had on African Americans. The Reconstruction era was a period of time
that lasted for fourteen years. Reconstruction began in 1863, just after America had
finish fighting the Civil War. The Civil War settled the constitutional crisis that were
provoked by the secessions of the Confederacy as well as giving freedom to millions
of slaves, more than four million to be exact, upsetting many white southerners. This
freedom was obtain by the 13th Amendment which abolished slavery. In other words
ended slavery. This impacted many African Americans mainly for the reason being
that most had no idea on how to make a living on their own. At the time President
Lincoln and Congress helped African Americans by providing them with food,
clothing and leasing them land so they can have somewhere to make a living. In
addition, Lincoln had more plans for Reconstruction. One of his plan consisted on
bringing the seceded states back into the Union. However, before his plans were
tested Lincoln was assassinated while attending a theater. Continuing with what
Lincoln had left as

Business and Institutional Adoption of Cryptocurrencies Future Alternative Uses of
Cryptocurrencies#оїѕ History of Electronic and Virtual Currencies Traditionally,
currencies have been tied to physical tangible items, such as paper or gold, and
provided three functions: a medium of exchange, a unit of account, and a store of
value. The earliest published research using cryptography as a basis for
electronically transferring cash is from 1982 by David Chaum, a Ph.D. graduate in
Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley. He founded a
company in 1990 called DigiCash, which originally sold smart cards for closed
systems, such as for highway tolls. In 1994, the company sent the first electronic cash
( ecash ) payment over public computer networks. The history of DigiCash is
controversial, but the ecash system appears to have been centralized and proprietary
and no corporate partnerships were formally established. Other companies, such as
Dexit, InternetCash, Qpass, Flooz, Mondex and NetCheque, performed similar online
payments, but none of these companies gained meaningful traction due to the
complexities and expenses of navigating the technological, economic, legal, political,
social, and cultural challenges in virtualizing currencies.[ ][ ] The two most common
types of virtual currencies are:
The Pros And Cons Of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles
Scientific advancements have the potential to be beneficial as well as detrimental.
Whether it is good or bad depends on numerous factors, such as the motive for the
creation. In Ethics and the New Genetics, by the Dalai Lama, he discusses how these
scientific advancements can affect us on social, political and ethical levels. He
believes that while new technology can be beneficial, such as for medical purposes,
the motivation behind these creations is what can cause them to be harmful. While
new technology can be advantageous in humandevelopment and survival, it also has
consequences such as causing social and economic instability. Unmanned aerial
vehicles, commonly known as drones, initially were built to reduce casualties in a
war, but the advantages also carry risk. These war drones would minimize the
causality of soldiers in combat by removing them from the battlefield and replacing
them with these unmanned flying vehicles. However, their use has not always been
beneficial. For instance, the use of these war drones has resulted in a number of

By having the organ made from the patient s cell reduces the chance of that patient
s body rejecting the organ. This will also eliminate the need of a donor. Though
these are all great advantages of therapeutic cloning it has numerous disadvantages.
Scientists cannot prove this method to be completely safe for a patient. Some
patients have had these cells that were made from this process mutate into cancer
cells. The cost for this is also extremely high so it is not available to a large group of
the population. While reproductive cloning of a human has not been successful yet,
there are some concerns surrounding that. As the Dalai Lama asked in his essay, What
would this practice do to the future gene pool? To the diversity that has been essential

William Faulkner s The Giving Tree
The Giving tree is about how a little boy would come to this tree so he could have
some fun. The little boy loved the tree and the tree loved the boy as well. But as
the boy grew older he needed the tree more and more. The boy wanted some money
so he asked the tree for some money but she didn t have any, so she offered him her
apples for him to sell. The boy/man would always come to the treefor help, but he
would never give the tree anything.
The main idea is that the boy is selfish. The tree represents a parent and how the
boy would go to his parents for help and the parent does anything in their power to
help. The boy wanted a house but the tree couldn t give him a house but she gave
him her branches. After all of those years he has not ... Show more content on

Arguments Against Eugenics
The ability to promote or enhance certain capacities in the hope to develop a
superior human race connotes science fiction as well as fantasy, however the study
of eugenics proves that this act of fiction has the potential to be reality. Eugenics, or
good breeding as Sir Francis Galton would say, is a controversial topic due to the
deliberation of whether its benefits outweigh the toll that it takes on humankind. The
process of eugenicscan be viewed as humans ability to control the Natural Selection
process, which is the survival and reproduction of organisms with the best
adaptations, such as a tree frog s adaptation of different colouring to better blend in
with their surroundings to avoid predators. Scientific experimentation seeks to...

Huxley believed that the use of eugenics was a necessity to provide a solution to the
problem of overpopulation. Due to fear of a complete erosion of the world s
resources, Huxley sought to use eugenics as a means to control and regulate
population increase and to achieve some sort of balance between reproduction and
production instead of uninhibited expansion (Scarfe, 2018a, 3). In order to
successfully protect the human race from these impending horrors Huxley theorised
a eu selective program which utilizes Negative and Positive Eugenics as tools to
administer change. Negative Eugenics is the enforcement of preventative actions
such as sterilization to intentionally eradicate humans who are born with
abnormalities, genetic diseases, and mental deficiencies (Scarfe, 2018a, 2). In
contrast, Positive Eugenics would encourage individuals who Huxley deemed
genetically well endowed to reproduce in order to improve the human species as a
whole. Several strategies that Huxley proposed to enforce Negative Eugenics
include, the diminishment of social services such as public health care programs, or
financial assistance for families who do not have desirable genetics, voluntary

Essay On Search For Justice In Frankenstein
In the novel by William Styron, a father tells his son that life is a search for justice
(Styron). In the gothic novel Frankenstein by Mary Shelley the Creature is on a
constant search for justice. The Creature is shown to be inherently good, but due to
the corruption in society and traumatic experiences by those the Creature sought
acceptance from he slowly loses his moral compass. Shelley, in the novel
Frankensteindemonstrates the search for justice through many social situations and
characters. Shelley connects the Creature s search for justice to the hardships he
faces throughout his life. Victor s entire life is a search for perfection; much like all

He believed that his Creature murdered his brother and framed Justine, the
Frankenstein s maid, in order to achieve vengeance for Victor abandoning him, but
according to Levine, Victor is the cause for this evil, ...evil is a consequence of
maltreatment or injustice, (Levine 31). Victor s internal flaws and shortcomings
prevent him from revealing the truth about his Creation and therefore he is unable to
disclose details of Williams death to save Justine. Victor cowers and stands by as the
town unjustly convicts and executes Justine, (Shelley 117). The cowardly act
committed by Victor shows that he does not possess a strong enough moral compass
to do the justified act.
When Victor has the opportunity to become an important figure in the Creature s
life he fled; leaving his Creation alone, abandoned, and uniformed in a world
where society scrutinizes every detail. The Creature was only a child when Victor
abandoned him and left him to navigate a world that would not accept his physical
flaws or lack of external perfection. To try and understand the world the Creature is
obsessed with watching and observing the DeLacey family to acquire some basic
social skills. According to Anne Mellor, the Creature also learned the nature of
heroism and public virtue and civic justice, from observing the DeLacey family
(Mellor 48). The Creature initially believes that the DeLacey family was a family of

Gender Aspects Of Gender And Gender Roles In Beowulf
Beowulf is an epic poem that connotes the contents of the world including history,
terrorism, different cultures, and gender roles through the life events of the character
Beowulf. Among the contents, gender roles played a significant role throughout the
story of Beowulf. In the story, the conceptions of the male and female roles are
emphasized through the diverse characters, which give a glimpse the similarity and
dissimilarity of the genderroles in modern day society. During the post war era, the
women s characteristics and attitudes of the roles in society were circumscribed
and unnoticeable, but the men s roles compare to the women s roles were desirable
and prosperous. However, gender roles in the modern day society, the new
generations, distinctly altered the roles compared to the post war era just as
Beowulf, who represents older generations, passed as Wiglaf, who represents
newer generations, approached. While the gender roles in Beowulf s era were
restricted and definite, the gender roles in modern day society are unconstrained and
diverse compared to Beowulf s age that can be proved by historical and global
evidence. Even though gender roles in modern day society appears to be dissimilar
compared to Beowulf s era, the male and female roles during the eighth teen century
resembled Beowulf s age gender roles. During the eighth teen century, the title women
brought unequal prohibitions to the womanregardless of their own inalienable rights.
Prohibitions limited the women s career fields among the society, limited the women
s rights upon the marriage, and forced women to devote for household that
circumscribed their involvement and characteristics to the society; moreover, married
women considered as the possession of the men. therefore, the men thrived in various
fields than the women. The men s contributions to the society were beyond the
abilities of the women s roles, however the Despite the fact that the women were
almost treated as slave, the men were almost treated as king in the eighth teen
century. Likewise, in Beowulf s story, Wealhtheow, who is the queen of Hrothgar,
devoted herself to honor and benefits Hrothgar as his wife. Even though She was
honored and dignified character,

  • 1. Referencing In Essays Writing an essay on the topic of "Referencing in Essays" can pose a challenge for various reasons. First and foremost, mastering the intricacies of proper referencing requires a deep understanding of different citation styles, such as APA, MLA, Chicago, or Harvard. Each style comes with its own set of rules and guidelines, demanding meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy. Furthermore, the process of referencing involves not only citing sources within the text but also creating a comprehensive bibliography or works cited page. This requires careful organization and adherence to specific formatting rules, which can be time-consuming and mentally taxing. Additionally, staying up-to-date with the latest changes in citation guidelines can be demanding, as citation styles are periodically updated to reflect changes in the academic landscape. Keeping abreast of these modifications and implementing them correctly in an essay adds an extra layer of complexity to the task. Moreover, the challenge extends beyond the technical aspects. • 2. The Theme Of Madness And Insanity In William Shakespeare s... l, Introduction This papers goal will be to discuss whether Hamlet is feigning his insanity or if he uses it as a tool to reach his ends. The theme of madness is a common tool used in William Shakespeare s Hamlet. Most of it is centred about the protagonist young Hamlet himself. Beginning with the appearance of the ghost of Hamlet s father, from early on in the play, Hamlet and others are forced to question their grasp on reality, as well as their own possibility for believing in the existence of the Supernatural. And yet, Hamlet is not alone in his apparent struggle with insanity. Hamlet s love interest Ophelia too, suffers from a particular kind of madness after her father is murdered and it gets reinforced by Hamlet s rejection and betrayal. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He never explicitly explains his own motives not even in his soliloquies. We have to keep in mind that the situation of the play is already developed before he comes on the stage and the full solution is reached only after his death. Hamlet s tendency for hesitation or passivity is reason for a lot of criticism, justified or not However, it comes into full maturity when it comes to the task given by the ghost of old Hamlet. The prince is constantly putting of the instruction for that he is not ready and not done thinking about it. For him it naturally poses as a moral struggle; it is not his private revenge that he has to carry out but he is merely the sword of a greater invisible power. It appears that his tragic erroris his inability to act and his tendency towards reflection that ultimately leads to his death. As it stands Hamlet is not someone who is lacking insight but rather someone who is caught between being and doing. These inner conflict modern psychologists know as neurosis, and it is only by study of neurosis that one can learn the fundamental motives and instincts that move men. (Philips 2009). Being the victim of a neurosis would certainly attest the theory of insanity, however it lacks

  • 5. The Border Patrol State Essay The Border Patrol State In The Border Patrol State Leslie Silko makes accusations of the border patrol s mistreatment of American citizens of Mexican decent, making the argument with almost evidence. Silko, a critically acclaimed poet, sees the border patrol as a governmental assembly addicted to interrogation, torture, and the murder of those they see fit. Leslie Silko certainly makes accusations that some could argue far exceed the boundaries of journalism integrity, and fail to deliver with evidence to back them up. The author of this piece is a Mexican American living in the Southwest United States. The author is using personal experience to convey a problem to his or her audience. The audience of this piece is quite ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She tells a story of her and her companion Gus being treated as illegal immigrants although they present Arizona identification. They are pushed around and even have the dog unleashed on them. She goes onto compare the treatment of Mexican Americans by the United States Border Patrol to, Argentina s dirty war in the late 1970 s (124). From here it is onto how well the border patrol discriminates, and how they will do their best to find any reason to bring the brown man down. Silko explains the way in which people are detained. She actually reaches out to the reader and tells him or her personally how they could identify themselves being detained. She makes claims throughout this explanation of how the detainee is treated unjustly, like when she states, They make it clear that if you force them to obtain a search warrant for the car, they will make you submit to a strip search as well (125). Silko starts to bring some half way evidence into the picture by talking about the more high profile cases of the abuse of the border patrol s power. She gives us more facts as we reach the middle of the reading. Eighty percent of the respondents from a survey done by the University of Arizona in South Tucson identified that one in every five had been detained, mistreated, or questioned by INS agents in the past two years. Manifest Destiny... lock the door is what it means now, introduces an idea Silko finds to be just(126). The solution Silko says is no border. Even

The Internet Economy Within Digital Media The Internet economy within Digital Media Digital Media has changed over the years, making a substantial impact on society, as technology is linking people from across the world in ways that would seem nearly impossible years ago. The global online population is currently 1.2 billion, projected to grow to 1.8 billion by 2010, According to Central Intelligence Agency statistics collected in 2005 and 2006. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If you type up a blog or an online journal as a personal publishing tool you could become an author. This tool is something not seen in the mass media, and the individuals participating in them are often the influencers, who are more valuable than the average consumer. Blogs also are an opportunity to mass communicate directly and quickly with customers, in an easy to read format, without going through slow corporate processes. It does however run the risk of having negative feedback because it is self regulated, but through collaboration can spark positive comments. It is essentially an opportunity to create interactive platforms that initiate discussions for collaboration. A prime example of a company utilizing digital media over the computer is Verizon, whom adopted a digital workplace in an attempt to connect the vast amount of employees nationwide. This included all online systems, tools, information channels regardless of geographic location. The business place includes some of Verizon s cutting edge communication tools with an access to an intranet portal, called eWeb. • 7. Sexual Fantasy Within The Odyssey Cassidy Bulger Professor Isser Montserrat September 22, 2015 Sexual Fantasy Within The Odyssey In the Odyssey, by Homer, Homer suggests that women can be seductive traps that prevent or delay men from reaching their goals. The women that Odysseus encounters on his journey home in The Odyssey all represent a different sexual fantasy figure in the eyes of a male, and serve as a distraction that he must work around. Although the three women that Odysseus encounters on his travels are desirable to him, the only thing that he wants is to get home to his devoted wife. The soft, alluring, pastoral sensuality of Calypso, the purity, youth and innocence of the young Nausicaa, and the adventurously sexy Circe are no contest to the loyal and faithful Penelope. Penelope holds aspects of each of these three women, making her the most sought after by Odysseus. The goddess Calypso resides in a cave on an island. The lush and blossomed forest that surrounds her cave symbolizes the idea of and new life, whereas the cave itself represents a womb. Around her cave the woodland was in bloom,...Four separate springs flowed with clear water, crisscrossing channels as they meandered through meadows lush with parsley and blossoming violets (Odyssey, 5. 67 76). These symbols of fertility are important to males, especially during the time period that the Odyssey portrays when a woman s primary duty was to birth children and raise them. Odysseus was forced to stay on the island with Calypso for
  • 8. Literature Supports Children’s Personality Development Personality development is the development of the organized pattern of behaviors and attitudes that makes a person distinctive (Laberge, 2006). Adults, especially parents and teachers, are principal components of these environments and therefore play a powerful role in helping or hindering children in their personality and cognitive development (Morrison, 2007, p. 99). According to Erikson (2007), children s personalities and social skills grow and develop within the context of society and in response to society s demands, expectations, values, and social institutions, such as families, schools, and other child care programs (pp. 98 99). Children personality does not occur over night. They learn and experience new things in life and how... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 181). Literature can help children develop positive self concepts through content and also through activities, which may follow the sharing of a book (Giorgis et al., 2009, p. 179). A child s personality development is part of who they are and who they can become; therefore, selecting the right book for a certain child could help the child deal with a problem or situation they are dealing with at that exact moment. The New Baby written by Cyndy Szekeres is a story that has a concept that relates to all four stages. This story contains content that help adults and babies bond and share quality time. Reading to a baby does not require much, just hearing the soothing voices of an adult can help increase the trust in a child. The natural sounds and patterns of speech can help the infant in their language development. The story also contains events in the story, in which Tiny Mouse is learning how to adapt to his surroundings. Things are changing in his home with a new baby, for example no one has time to get his clothes or feed him his breakfast. He has to adjust to being a big brother now. Through this ordeal, Tiny Mouse learns how to become independent and help himself achieve the unknown. He learns to help with the baby, choose a book for himself, and help pull a wagon. He is learning to build his self esteem and learning to be
  • 9. How Insects Are Affected By Different Food And... Animal behavior can be defined as how animals respond to different environmental inducements (Schussler 2014). Furthermore, by studying how animal s react to these stimulus we can determine what shapes an animals behavior. In addition, the way an insect travels can define how prosperous or how non prosperous an insect will be in finding vital resources such as finding nutrients, reproducing, and their habitat location (Romero et. al. 2010). One interesting question is how insects are affected by different food and environmental ques. Based upon earlier research conducted by Stephen P. Yanoviak, insects prefer salt when compared against to sugar because they are less exposed to salt. (Sanders 2008). For that reason, in this study we are investigating how the flour beetle(Tribolium spp.) is affected by a variety of food resources. From earlier research conducted on ground beetles, the researchers found that beetles feast on a variety of food sources (Lovei Sunderland, 1996). The reason we are studying this is because we believe that the type food sourceplays a dynamic role in flour beetle behavior. One question that lead us to perform this study is that food is a vital resource that beetles must have to survive. We wanted to see what food sources is most influential and why. This study was focused on how beetle behavior is influenced by a variety of food sources. We conducted two test in this study. We based our first hypothesisoff of earlier research on the topic.
  • 10. 1984 Doublethink Analysis The Role of Doublethink in The Government of 1984 War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength, . The following quote originates from the infamous novel, 1984 by George Orwell. The significance of this popular quote was to display an example of the action of doublethink. Doublethink is the act of having two contradictory thoughts at the same time and believing both are true. Doublethink plays an influential role in the novel, 1984. The novel takes place in a super state by the name of Oceania which covers the entire continents of our America in reality. The main character of this novel is Winston Smith, a thirty nine year old Party member who works at the Ministry of Truth correcting errors in past publication who has a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For the Party, the past not fixed and permanent; its reality is evident only in records, (Becnel 11). Throughout the novel, it was often mentioned that the Party hired workers such as the main protagonist, Winston, to alter history the way they wanted it. If the Party has control over what was written down in history, they can easily manipulate their citizens to believe anything that they claim is true. This ability of control over history has also opened up the opportunity to alter the memories of the citizens of Oceania. Being able to control the memories of the people and causing them to believe one thing and another is an example of doublethink. The Party used doublethink in order to increase and strengthen their power over the citizens. Power is also a factor that revolves around the action of doublethink. Becnel mentions the importance of doublethink and power in his critic upon the novel, Doublethink is the foundation on which the Party s power rests, (Becnel 11). Becnel s claim basically states that in order to maintain and strengthen their power, the Party must resort to doublethink in order to have better control of their citizens. Although the Party has taken actions such as altering history and having a great amount of control over the people to express doublethink, they have also done expressed doublethink in
  • 11. Beauty Is An Integral Part Of Human Nature The concept of beauty is an integral part of human nature. For centuries men and women have designated a part of each day dedicating their time to their physical appearance. In many cultures beauty is made a priority of life. This is reflective of the expectations the media places on men and women to have a certain look. What most do not realize is beauty is not just defined by the aesthetic pleasure of faces, hair, bodies, and clothes, it is driven by many other factors. The concept of beauty does not have to be tied down to the strict definition of what is visually attractive, and should rather focus on many different aspects of the person as a whole to create a definition of their beauty. There are many factors that contribute to what makes something or in the case of this research, someone beautiful . The explanation for the perceptionof beauty in one s self and in others is due in part to a biological, a psychological, and a cultural basis working hand in hand to create what humans believe to be beauty. Perception of beauty is manipulated greatly by the biological evolutionary influences on human nature. All of this stems from the deeply rooted evolutionary need to reproduce. In particular, facial beauty of a femaleor a maleis important because the one weapon men and women have to fulfill the ultimate goal of preserving their genes in another generation is attraction. One must be perceived as beautiful first before any sexual attraction can occur (Wilson, 2013).
  • 12. The Daughters Of Edward Darley Boit Analysis The portrait I chose from the museum is The Daughters of Edward Darley Boit, 1882 by John Singer Sargent primarily because of the content of the portrait. As I was walking through the museum I noticed many different portraits but this one stuck out a lot because of how the girls in the picture are all in different areas of the portrait and the fact that it has a much more mysterious vibe to it. Sargent depicts four daughters; two of which are standing between two large fancy porcelain vases, one standing alone to the opposite side of the vase and the youngest daughter alone with a single doll. Another interesting component Sargent implemented in his portrait is his attention to detail where one of the daughter has her arms hidden behind her back suggesting that she (or her family) is hiding something. It is difficult to truly understand the meaning of the painting without the context and history of the artist when looking at the work s history we are able to see that when Sargent was originally sought out by Edward Darley Boit and in his commission, he decided to create something that was different from the traditional portrait scene. According to the mfa.org regarding Sargent s unique perspective on the portrait it is revealed that the family was disconnected in their relations. The daughter s strange spacing and similar clothing in the image further alludes to the idea that even though the daughters of the family are connected in reality there are a lot of differences that are unaccounted

Blood Transfusion Essay Blood Transfusion, Adult Introduction A blood transfusion is a procedure in which you receive donated blood, including plasma, platelets, and red blood cells, through an IV tube. You may need a blood transfusion because of illness, surgery, or injury. The blood may come from a donor. You may also be able to donate blood for yourself (autologous blood donation) before a surgery if you know you might require a blood transfusion. The blood given in a transfusion is made up of different types of cells. You may receive: Red blood cells. These carry oxygen to the cells in the body. This is necessary to know what kind of blood your body will accept and to match it to the donor blood. If you are going to have a planned surgery, you may be able to do an autologous blood donation. This may be done in case you need to have a transfusion. If you have had an allergic reaction to a transfusion in the past, you may be given medicine to help prevent a reaction. This medicine may be given to you by mouth or through an IV. You will have your temperature, blood pressure, and pulse monitored before the transfusion. Follow instructions from your health care provider about eating and drinking restrictions. Ask your health care provider about: в—‹ Changing or stopping your regular medicines. This is especially important if you are taking diabetes medicines or blood thinners. Taking medicines such as aspirin and ibuprofen. These medicines can thin your blood. • 17. Water Supply And Sanitation Within South Africa Although there are a wide variety of contributing factors and issues related to water supply and sanitation within South Africa, some are more prominent than others. One of these is the continuously increasing amounts of people moving into the city from smaller areas and villages; these larger, more dense populations of people have also increased the water demand. To keep up and hopefully adapt to these largely increasing needs for clean and readily available water in the cities, many plans to prevent a more widespread lack of water supplyand sanitation in these areas have been made. The issue is, however, that most of these plans have either not been funded, put into action, or completed. In addition to this, the structures that are currently in place are in poor condition or near collapsing. Some of these failed proposals include the construction of dams, to help maintain the water supply, and more advanced filtration systems to ensure that the water is safe for human use and consumption. Lack of proper implementation and maintenance of plans to help with water supply and sanitation in more populated areas is, needless to say, a majorly contributing factor in the history of South Africas water crisis(Water). As water supply and sanitation is either non existent or ineffective in cities and more largely populated areas, it is also struggling in rural areas such as smaller villages. Part of the reason why access to clean, usable water is unavailable is because of

M. Hassanein, S. El Khalafy*, S. Shendy Tanta University, Faculty of Science, Department of Chemistry, Tanta 31527, Egypt. Abstract 5, 10, 15, 20 tetraphenylporphyrinatocobalt(II) showed good catalytic activity towards oxidation of 3,5 di tert butylcatechol to 3,5 di tert butyl benzoquinone by dioxygen in dimethylformamide. The oxidation reaction was followed by measuring dioxygen uptake. The rate constant of oxidation reaction showed a linear dependence on catalyst concentration and saturation kinetics in both 3,5 di tert butylcatechol concentration and dioxygen pressure. The kinetic parameters have been determined using Michaelis Menten approach. A mechanism has been suggested for the oxidation reaction. Since the start of the 15th century, the Portuguese were the first to travel to undiscovered continents, including Asia. In particular, France, although late to colonize, decided to establish its superiority over the vacant region of Indochina. The French existence in the Indochina territory led to a tragic legacy of aggressiveness towards the local people. Mary, Bonnie, and Therese are given very little depth apart from the complexity given to the sisters as a whole, unlike their younger siblings. When Cecelia s diary is found by the narrators, they explain that many strange sentences conjure in the reader s mind an image of a mythical creature with ten legs and five heads (Eugenides 39). This is significant as it makes the sisters appear less human, once again. This further objectifies and others them from the boys and the rest of the neighborhood, as it sets them apart from their suburban norm. Louise Wandland explains in her essay entitled We Couldn t Fathom Them at All , the novel presents us with an image of women as others, which is problematic as it denies women subjectivity and a voice to tell their own story (Wandland 4). While only a young boy (around the age of four), he spoke to his parents of seeing angels playing amongst him, encountering visions of heaven and hell throughout London and the nearby countryside, and spotting God keeping a close eye on him during tasks and chores. It was not long before the young Blake began to stencil out the visions from his imagination, and as an eleven year old, he enlisted in Pars Drawing School to learn the art of printing and plaster casting. Soon thereafter, Blake began to apprentice under London artist James Basire, and as a fourteen year old, he was assigned to drawing monuments in Westminster Abbey, which led to a lifelong admiration for Gothic art and religious illustration. This book is like a journal where Dr. Laterhouse tells personal experiences that have shaped her life. The book commences off with a strongly affirmation where Dr. Latehouse states that be a teacher is her life s calling. In the introduction of the book Laterhouse establish her foundation as a teacher, she mentioned many experiences that shape her as a teacher and recall the fact that she lived in a teacher professionfamily. She mentioned stories about her childhood, stories that have shaped her life into the teacher profession; she stated I grew in a teacher s home . As I read the book I noticed that I have not had the same opportunity as Laterhouse to live in a teacher s home. However, as I continue reading the book I saw that the lessons learned by the author can help me even though I did not grow in a teacher s home. It is evident in the book the spiritual life and God centered life. Laterhouse dived her book in seven lesson learned. Every lesson brings me to reflect about God, about myself and about others. I consider that every lesson mentioned is important I will recall those points that I consider important to my life. The first lesson learned was from parenting. As Laterhouse mentioned as believers we have guidance available to us through prayer and Scripture, but became believers does not automatically equip us with the insights and techniques to be a parent. It is often said that we are shaped by our environments; we all interact with our surroundings in some form or another, and we are further influenced by and interact with the society we live in. In fiction, characters interact the same way within their fictional societies and social positions, as characters reflect how actual people relate to their world. In the novel The House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende, there exist many societal norms and standards that influence the characters and their actions in different ways. This essay focuses on these standards and how they relate to the character of FГ©rula Trueba, and her position in the society she lives in. Allende s novel The House of the Spirits takes place in the religious and patriarchal society of 20th Century Chile, where the character FГ©rula embraces religious austerity and internalizes her role as caretaker, resulting in embitterment and repression of her feelings. The setting of the novel begins in the early 20th century, in the Capital, where both the del Valle familyand the Trueba family reside. The Capital is inferred to be in the country of Chile. Many of the standards of the society are first shown through the del Valle family and the central character, Esteban Trueba. It is clear that this society emphasizes reputation and morality, and that it is deeply religious; Severo del Valle is atheist, but both him and his family attend Catholic Mass because he could not allow himself the luxury of missing the

From birth children learn from their parents and society what feminine and masculine consist of and the responsibilities that come with either one. Gender, rather than being a biological concept is cultural one, varying from culture to culture. Both males and females are categorized by certain mannerisms, behaviors, and interests that society has set forth expecting them to follow such rules. Women are expected to play the role of a housewife making sure the home is a livable space and taking of the children while on the other hand, men are expected to be the ones who provide income for the family. This excerpt talks about some of the roles her mother believes a woman of her culture should follow. It shows that ironing, preparing food, and cleaning the house are traditional female roles and are expected to be done only by the female gender. By tradition, a man is expected to be the one who brings in the money for the household and a woman the one to take care of the home. This stereotype sets forward the idea that for a household to function there must be both genders present. Without a male, a household won t have an income and without a female there won t be a progressive

For instance, excess visceral adiposity could be the consequence of an activated hypothalamic pituitary adrenal axis leading to an increased control of carbohydrate and lipid metabolism by glucocorticoids.74 Because visceral adipocytes have more glucocorticoid receptors than subcutaneous adipose cells, such an activated hypothalamic pituitary adrenal axis may promote preferential fat deposition in the visceral adipose depot while at the same time inducing insulin resistance in the liver and in the skeletal muscle.74 Other possibly important key players are gonadal steroids. There is less controversy concerning the effects of fructose on components of metabolic syndrome; consumption of fructose has been shown to increase visceral adipose deposition and de novo lipogenesis (DNL), produce dyslipidemia, and decrease insulin sensitivity in older, overweight/obese subjects. 83,84 Bray and his colleagues study the relation between the intake of high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) and the development of obesity. They analyzed food consumption patterns by using US Department of Agriculture food consumption tables from 1967 to 2000. The consumption of HFCS increased 1000% between 1970 and 1990, far exceeding the changes in intake of any other food or food group. HFCS now represents 40% of caloric sweeteners added to foods and beverages and is the sole caloric sweetener in soft drinks in the United States. Their estimation of the consumption of HFCS indicates a daily average of 132 kcal for all Americans aged ≥ 2 y, and the top 20% of consumers of caloric sweeteners ingest 316 kcal from HFCS/d. The increased use of HFCS in the United States mirrors the rapid increase in obesity. The digestion, absorption, and metabolism of fructose differ from those of glucose. Analysis Of Mirrors By Eduardo Galeano Mirrors by Eduardo Galeano Throughout this book, Galeano had stories that showed our history and the brutality in life The stories in the book displayed themes including fear, racism, depression, slavery and violence. For example, I happen to know from my previous classes regarding the history of African Americans including from an author by the name of Toni Morrison who suggests humanity started with Africans. There was similar information from one story called A Feast On Foot and within the story was the line The human adventure in the world began in Africa (Galeano 1) however there was the first line that stated Adam and Eve were black? which could suggest racism. Other examples Galeano relates to include how violent we humans have been which is presented into stories such as The Torturer s Confession and We Were All Executioner s. One line that got my attention that tied both of them together was understanding that the most enthusiastic punishers were also the most enthusiastic sinners (101). It is my understanding knowing that punishers and sinners both caused torture and mistreatment toward humanity no matter what race, gender or color they might be. Violence was portrayed in both a racist and religious matter in very few stories Galeano presented especially on pages 122 128 when he told of stories about the devil being the following: Muslim, Jewish, black, poor, foreign, homosexual gypsy and Indian. Despite how people view their religious beliefs, there was

He founded a company in 1990 called DigiCash, which originally sold smart cards for closed systems, such as for highway tolls.
