Analysis Of Truman Capote s Cold Blood
To judge is to irreparably arbitrate; the judged seldom find recourse if an error lies in the judge s logic.
In criminal proceedings, the courts judge alleged criminals and deliver verdicts. A frequently
encountered issue is determining guilt. Critics of the de facto court system cite moral culpability as an
ideal that the courts fail to attain. Priding its moral superiority, the United States surprisingly lacks
some of the basic rights to justice afforded to others elsewhere. America purports to have a duty to
serve justice, yet the justice system provides little leeway to those whose crimes are not their fault.
This notion of unfulfilled justice appears in In Cold Blood by Truman Capote. When Dick and Perry
commit murder, the circumstances are such that Perry cannot be entirely accountable for the actions he
took. Perry bears no responsibility for the crimes he committed; storied psychological illnesses and
pitfalls compromised his sense of right and wrong, rendering him incapable of intervening in his
planned crime with Dick.
Perry never enjoyed to a hospitable, supportive family environment. Tragedy filled his early years,
spoiling his innocent view of the world too early. Evidence of this broken family life is most evident
in the commentary of Perry s sister. When asked about Perry, Perry s sister states that She had said she
was afraid of Perry, and she was, but was it simply Perry she feared [and]...the terrible destinies that
seemed promised the four children of

Speed Loss Lab Report
RECONSTRUCTION:
Pre Crash:
On 05 25 2015 at approximately 1940 hours, Vehicle 1 was westbound on County Road 672, east of
Dupree Road. The driver of Vehicle 1, for reasons unknown, drove off the north side of CR 672 and
onto a grassy shoulder. Vehicle 1 drove approximately 229 feet through the grass before he returned to
the roadway. In returning to the roadway, Driver 1 overcorrected his steering and continued in a
southwest direction across both lanes of CR 672, for approximately 76 feet, as Vehicle 1 rotated
slightly in a counterclockwise direction. As Vehicle 1 left the south road edge, Driver 1 again tried to
overcorrect and began to rotate in a clockwise direction, as he drove onto the grassy shoulder.

I used Limpert s analysis of a rotating vehicle for the distance of 76 feet. The result of this speed loss
was less than 1 mile per hour in the overall speed loss of Vehicle 1 and was not factored into the
overall speed loss for Vehicle 1.
After leaving the south side of the roadway, and driving onto a grass shoulder, Vehicle 1 began to
rotate in a clockwise direction, for a distance of approximately 45.16 feet. To determine the speed loss
over this distance, the percentage of braking of Vehicle 1 in relation to the rotation angle, must be
considered.
I utilized the coefficient of friction values based on skid testing conducted by the Institute of Police
Technology and Management, (IPTM). IPTM testing, indicates a coefficient of friction of .90 1.50 for
a vehicle furrowing.
For this speed analysis, I used Limpert s analysis of a rotating vehicle. I utilized the sine value of the
angle determined by the path of travel of Vehicle 1 versus the angle of approach at measured distances
during the rotation. In conjunction with the standard speed loss equation, the sine value is applied to
the coefficient of friction value. The result based on this analysis is a speed loss range of 22.85 mph to
29.50 miles per hour during

High School Orchestra Research Paper
Many don t realize that an orchestra is a team, a team is defined by Merriam Webster as a group of
people who work together. However, being apart of a team is much more important than that, it is a
group of people you rely on, that push you to do better. Being apart of a group can requires you to do
the same for others: be there for them, push them to be better. Orchestra is very similar to a sports
team, in that there is no real star of the show. Because, if one person messes up then they affect
everyone. When everyone works hard and plays well together it can be a great experience, but when
people don t try and lower the talent level of the group, it can be very frustrating. Because of this, the
orchestra dynamic can be very discouraging to be a part of. In a high school orchestra you will see
three main types of people: hard workers, attempters, and slackers. ... Show more content on

I would consider myself a hard worker. I try to practice for thirty minutes everyday, and focus very
hard in class. I also try to get into honors orchestras like the Youth String Orchestra, Siesta Honors

what I need to improve on. To help with this, I also take private lessons. Another hard worker in is a
cellist named Turner. I don t know how much he practices but I see him in the Youth String Orchestra
(YSO) that I play in every Sunday and I believe he takes private lessons. So it wouldn t be much of a
surprise if he also practiced often. These are all very common characteristics in hard workers and

What Is Openstack And Its Importance
Service Providers and enterprises need to ensure that their networks remain a relevant and important
part of users everyday experience, and deliver added value in new and unique ways. How new
technologies like cloud, Software Defined Networking (SDN) will help them do this and efficient
management across network resources and cloud application. In this paper we have talked about what
is Openstack and its importance and briefly explored three major Openstack projects Compute,
Storage and Network and discussed their capabilities. Secondly we have mentioned three different
approaches of SDN Cloud convergence. How SDN proves useful in cloud environment and achieve
high flexibility and higher innovation. The also paper presents an alternate architecture that combines
SDN and Cloud Architecture. 1. Introduction: Traditional network model requires tremendous
commitment of hardware resources, dedicated budgets along with managing On premise datacentre.
The enterprise or the IT industry is dependent on its own computing, storage and networking
capabilities. Effective solution for the traditional networking model is Cloud. Cloud computing is on
demand service. Virtualizing network resource for providing users with the required bandwidth and
level of service they expect is the promise of Cloud. There are quite a few cloud service providers who
offer cloud services to manage computing and storage resources. But the IT industry and others have
to pay for the service. Openstack can be

Cortisol Research Paper
Cortisol production is stimulated by ACTH secretion from the anterior pituitary via numerous
feedback mechanisms according to the circadian rhythm, with peak levels in the early morning and
smaller fluctuations throughout the day. ACTH secretion is stimulated by CRH in the hypothalamus
which is stimulated by things such as: decreases in plasma cortisol, hypoglycemia, stress, and
infection. Secretion of ACTH leads to conversion of cholesterol to cortisol in the zona fasciculata of
the adrenal gland via various cytochrome P450 enzymes. Increased levels of cortisol itself cause
negative feedback on the pituitary and hypothalamus. The zona glomerulosa is the site of production
of Aldosterone, the principal mineralocorticoid, via similar mechanisms (cytochrome p 450.)
Aldosterone production is stimulated by activation of the renin angiotensin system in response to
decreased intravascular volume (sensed by baroreceptors), decreased sodium levels sensed in the
macula densa of the nephron, and by the sympathetic nervous system in response to stress.
Over ninety percent of cortisol in the blood is bound to corticosteroid binding globulin, and about ten
percent is in the free, biologically active form, however these levels may vary during times of ... Show

Almost All Nighter Research Paper
The Almost All Nighter We lay in a carpet of pubescent, pimply teenagers. They re all sleeping
peacefully with smiles smeared on their faces, remembering the pleasant pain that twisted their
tummies when they laughed together. Everyone seems to sigh and snore in synchrony as if sleeping is
some sort of art. Some snoozing teens are on top of each other and others lie curled comfortably in
corners. Friends use each other as pillows and share blankets with each other. Every once in a while
someone will shift as if they are startled, but they are just moving closer to the welcoming warmth of
another sleeping soul. A computer projects a movie, Inception onto the wall in front of the kids

Female Sexuality
The female sexuality plays the very important role in both DRACULA and MAXIMUM GAGA. They
both talk about the virginity and dissoluteness in female sexuality, but have different views about it. In
DRACULA, only virginity is accepted; dissoluteness is completely intolerable. Stoker thinks virginity
is very precious, and he want the readers know that women will be punished for being lascivious, so
each female character has different ending in terms of their virginity. In MAXIMUM GAGA, Lara
didn t give an exact attitude about the virginity and dissoluteness in female sexuality; she thinks they
can exist at the same time. In DRACULA, the general content is about the fighting between Dracula
and humans, since Dracula tries to transform all ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Men don t appreciate women being dissipated. They wanted to kill her to make her back to normal.
Also, Lucy has the worse ending which all the guys she loved and loved her before want to kill her
and Van Helsing cut off her head and filled her mouth with garlic. All of these occurred because she
was not very pure and loyal when she is a human; she needs to pay for her dissoluteness.
The three sisters had already been transformed to be vampires by Dracula, and Stoker makes them as
the most sexual ones. In Jonathan s journal, The girl went on her knees, and bent over me, simply
gloating. There was a deliberate voluptuousness which was both thrilling and repulsive. (Stoker, 43)
Their ends are very miserable. They were all killed by Van Helsing. Like Lucy, they also need to pay
for their dissoluteness, which supports Stoker s view about the preciousness of virginity.
In MAXIMUM GAGA, Lara also put a lot of weight on female sexuality, virginity and dissoluteness
to be specifically. Basically, the book is all about sexuality, there are sex between human and
machines, orifice and all the crazy staffs. The big argument in the book is the relationship between
virginity and dissoluteness in female sexuality. It s kind of complex that women have both virginity
and dissoluteness at the same time. It looks like female is very dissipated here; however, they still
have an idea about virginity. We see the dissoluteness at the most parts in the book. All the

Syrian Refugees In Canada
Refugees in Canada
Justin Trudeau s liberal party made the moral and accurate decision to admit the Syrian refugees into
Canada. This decision was based on the morals to provide safety towards innocent victims of war.
This decision should be seen as morally justified by all Canadians. Although there are some practice

It is only moral and just to say that all citizens of the world deserve the right to a life and equal rights,

To relocate to Vancouver is a highly impractical. Syrian refugee families who immigrated are only
given $785 as an allowance each month. this allowance is to cover the cost of living (CTVnews),
which in Vancouver will not be enough. According to Ramadan, who is of The Muslim Association of
Canada, There is nothing less than $1,400 in Vancouver to support a family of two or three

when according to a recent study (vancitybuzz) a person needs to make $20.68 an hour just to get by?
The Syrians will struggle to a great degree, it is hard enough for someone born and raised in
Vancouver to find this wage, they struggling; struggling to live affordably, to find prosperous work.
For a Syrian refugee, a life in Vancouver may be near impossible. Although, just because someone has
immigrated, and will face struggles, does not mean it to be impossible to provide them with the
necessities for equality, which is what Canada is morally trying to do. This equality won t be found in

Timmy The Train
After reading the story it is easy to see that forecasting demand is difficult in the toy industry.
Particularly with toys that depend on trends and have limited marketability. The expert commentator
M. Eric Johnson mentions, Santa needs to stop reacting to fads and start creating them. (McNulty,
2014) Just because the singer said Meowrrr was so yesterday does not take into account the kids who
don t follow fads, nor does it take into account regional saturation of this singer s popularity. Market
analysis may show that the product may be more popular and sustainable in another region. Stopping
production on Meowrrr completely without up to date market knowledge could be just as costly as
producing too much. While on the flip side, not producing enough Timmy the Train toys and CDs
could also be detrimental. I do appreciate the helpful advice from Anne Omrod, Timmy the Train is a
stable seller so producing the remaining available lot quickly would be to Santa s benefit. Reducing
Meowrrr production and shifting that line as well as any available duplication lines to the Timmy CD

relationship of Tea Cake and Janie is crucial in the understanding of this story. In Zora Neale Hurston

Tieing in with Tea Cake constantly leaving Janie, he also leaves her and takes her two hundred dollars.
During this time period that amount of money is a lot, so for him to take this says something about Tea
Cake. This makes Tea Cake questionable. How does he even know this money is there? ...so Janie
never told him about the two hundred dollars she had pinned inside her shirt next to her skin. (Hurston

fact that he has her money speaks for itself. If he loved her then he wouldn t be taking her things,
especially something like money without even asking for Janie s permission for it.
Eventually, Tea Cake begins to show regret and guilt for his actions. He immediately wants go to and

Catholic Church Annotation
In a recent event in Rome, Pope Francis was faced with the question on whether he would consider the
ordaining of female deacons in the Roman Catholic Church. While addressing the 900 superiors of
women s religious orders he vowed that he was in agreement and would consider it. This is a decision
that I am in agreement with and feel that it is long overdue for a myriad of reasons.
Pope Francis papacy began on March 13, 2013 and he vowed to be open to new and fresh ideas to
help the Catholic Church become more appealing to those in the 21st century. In vowing to seriously
consider the female deacon he is proving to be true to his word, an item one would believe to be de
facto with his position. The immediate support for his mention proved this notion worthy and would
generate an immediate ground swell of young Christian women without a denomination to at least
take a more serious look at Catholicism and it s teachings. The shear fact that he is even considering
this is a huge change in a Church that only recently, with Pope Francis mention, acknowledged the
huge role that women play in Catholic life. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Handedness Of An Individual Can Be Determined
Handedness
Handedness of an individual can be determined by knowing which hand(right or/and left hand ) is
used high frequently for performing the tasks. Most of the people around the world are right handed.
There are four type of handedness. They are
Right handedness Major usage of right hand for most activities
Left handedness Major usage of left hand
Cross dominance Usage of separate hands for separate tasks
Ambidexterity Using both hands equally
Origin:
Different statistics study shows that certain percentage of population belong to particular category is
likely to be left or right handed. The motor homunculus as shown in the picture represent the division
of motor cortex that contribute to different structures of the body. Hand movement involve fine control
over the motor area. The differentiation occur in the region of brain more particularly in the motor
cortex in the cerebrum. For right handedness people the left hemisphere of the brain dominates and
vice versa.. Researchers from University of Oxford and its collaborated universities found the link
between the handedness and gene that is involved in this process which is mainly PCSK6 gene[1]. A
study conducted with approximately 54,000 individuals revealed that 24% handedness is contributed
by genetic factor. [2] These gene can be influenced by cultural and social pressure that can result in
right handedness child born to left handed parents. Broca s area that controls the speech and language

The Glass Menagerie Gender
In the 1945 play, The Glass Menagerie, American author Tennessee Williams depicts the endeavours
that the protagonist and narrator, Tom Wingfield, his mother Amanda and sister Laura face when
living within a patriarchal society. When analysed from a gendered and psychoanalytical
consideration, the play explores the restrictions and innermost emotions of individuals, reflecting
Williams interpretation of living within the 1930s American civilisation. Adopting the play from a
gendered lens demonstrates the limitations placed upon men and women, as a result of acquired
traditional gender roles. Comparably, through a psychoanalytic reading, Williams demonstrates the
desire of escaping reality and abandonment; what is seen as imprisonment, and the ... Show more

The Glass Menagerie is viewed through a gendered lens, Amanda s subconscious aspirations of living
in the past, and therefore encouragement of traditional gender roles, portrays the inequitable
expectations placed on women in the 1930s. These societal norms within patriarchal society, evidently
arose from tradition, as Amanda; a woman herself, reinforces to her daughter how a lady must behave
according to her Southern upbringing. Amanda therefore encourages the societal expectation of
marriage to Laura, and pursues the idea by stating, ...as soon as Laura has got somebody to take care
of her, married, a home of her own... Amanda s desires and inability to accept the past impose socially
constructed norms for a woman to be dependent and rely on a dominant male figure. Laura is further
accustomed to accepting inequitable limitations and living up to her mother s expectancy, which is
confirmed by Amanda stating, One Sunday afternoon in Blue Mountain your mother received
seventeen! gentlemen callers! Williams exposes Amanda s demand for Laura to become more
interested in the dating scene, dictating her wishes for her daughter to be perceived more as of a
reflection of herself; socially

Sciatica is a pain that affects the back, hips, and legs, caused by compression of a spinal nerve root in
the lower back, often owing to deterioration of an intervertebral disk, hernias, and tissues injuries
(Cichoke 3). It is most known as lower back pain because the sciatica nerve connects the lower spine

electrical stimulation, but certain devices such as pacemaker can interfere with it: therefore, dry
needling is used alone (Pavkovich 548). Studies have found that dry needling without anesthetic
produces the same effect on pain reduction as the ones containing anesthetic (Bodger 140). The pain

My Reading and Writing Experience over the Years
Literacy Narrative: My Reading and Writing Experience over the Years I have never been the type of
student who enjoyed reading or writing. I have always found it difficult to express myself by writing
narratives, book reports, and any other required assignment. I am far more skilled at speaking or
verbal expression in general as I have found over the years that people tend to misunderstand my point
if it is written. When I sit to write, I have to think about what I want to say. This is not easy for me as I
tend to think about several things at once. Clearing my mind and focusing on the writing task is a
challenge in itself. I do not consider myself a strong writer and find it intimidating especially when I
know it will be critiqued. The sense of failure when seeing the paper I worked so hard on look like the
newest local headline of a recent murder is disheartening for me. I assume I am being overly critical of
myself but those feelings seem to be redeemed when I look over the aftermath of what was my
wonderful work of mental art. The irony of all of this is I write many different things in my current

Examples Of Motives In The Crucible
In the play, The Crucible [New York: Penguin Group. 2003] by Arthur Miller, the mass hysteria of the
witch trials begins with a game in the woods and quickly grows to unbelievable proportion in an
atmosphere of ignorance and superstition. In this small, closed community, the hysteria is fed by
hidden personal motives including self preservation, fear, jealousy, envy, and revenge which when
unchecked and unquestioned, bring tragic consequences. Fear and self preservation are strong
motives, and these motives provide the origin of the witch trial in this play. When Reverend Parris

Besides the motives already mentioned on the part of Abigail for making accusations of witchcraft is
revenge. Abigail has been dismissed as a maid by Elizabeth. Abigail is angry and humiliated by this
and seeks to get revenge with her false accusations which are believed by the community. Others also
find opportunities to exact revenge on their neighbors. Among the victims is Sarah Good who is not
totally accepted by the community. Since she is disliked, it is believable to the community that she has
cursed their animals (44). Another victim is Goody Osburn who is accused by the Putnams. They
maintain that as their midwife, she has caused the death of Mrs. Putnam s babies (44). Goody Osburn
is very poor and held in low esteem so there is no one to support her, making it easy to accuse and
arrest her. Another example of revenge is based on the hatred between Thomas Putnam and Francis
Nurse. The Putnams and Nurses have been fighting over land for some time, and this has caused hard
feelings. As Giles says, Putnam accuses people who have land and would have them killed to get it
(89). Additionally, Putnam is upset with Nurse because Nurse has opposed Putnam s choice for
minister. The Putnams see the opportunity to get revenge by Mrs. Putnam s accusation of Rebecca
Nurse of the supernatural murder of their babies. This results in Rebecca s arrest and a chance for the
Putnam s to acquire land. All of these

A Lady in a Machine-Shop Essay
In A Lady in a Machine Shop, Susan Bivin Aller uses creativity, determination, and confidence to
demonstrate how they led Margaret Knight to succession as an inventor. Knight and her family moved
to Manchester, New Hampshire when she was at a young age. At the age of twelve, Knight witnessed
a mill worker injured by a steel tipped shuttle. This motivated her to create a safety mechanism, her
first invention, to prevent any further injuries in cotton mills.
Knight s mind was built with creativeness and that helped her succeed. As Knight grew up with her
brothers, she invented sleds, kites, and other playthings that?were the envy of all the boys in town.
Knight often had a smile on her face when making new items for her brothers. She ... Show more

She yearned for helping people and improving the way of life.
Aller also used statistics that demonstrated determination in Knight. At the paper bag company that
she was currently working in, Knight was determined to develop a better paper bag, so ?she completed
a wooden model and made thousands of trial bags in the factory? to help her. Before she had time to
register a patent for the paper bag, a man named Charles F. Annan ?had been spying?he had it copied?
patented in his name.? Annan stole Knight?s model and took the credit, after knowing about Knight?s
past inventions. Because of Knight?s determination, she tried her best to win her side. After all she
have done for her brothers, cotton mills, and the Columbia Paper Bag Company, Knight has built up
willpower and courage. When Knight died, ?she held patents for twenty two inventions and?sixty
more?? Even though Knight invented a wide range of items, many more were waiting to have a patent,
but never had the chance.
Lastly, the most important thing that led Knight to success was confidence in herself. Knight had self
assurance when she was inventing a machine that produced an improved paper bag and ?No one had
been able to make such a machine.? When Annan was on his way to get a patent for the model he stole
from Knight, ?she hired an attorney, and armed with witnesses, documents, drawings,

Review Of Dr. Cleamon Moorer
For I Know the Plans
Failure is perhaps one of the most influential things in people s lives because it can alter the course of
our actions, by teaching us persistence or leading us the opposite way. Through his book, Dr. Cleamon
Moorer guides the readers through an intimate journey about his progression from failure to promise.
In the small town of Detroit, Moorer was raised by Christian parents, who taught him love, obedience,
and enforced discipline, but most importantly, they nurtured his faith in Jesus Christ. Cleamon Moorer
flourished in academics during both elementary and middle school, however, his mischievousness
throughout those years earned him many disciplinary sessions. In high school, misbehavior became
history, yet, his GPA suffered in the low C s. But with his father s tough discipline and Moore s own
effort and faith in God, he later received candidacy for the National Honor s Society. As his college
experience began, Cleamon Moore was honored to attend GMI and work along many of his
classmates at GM, but when the courses became more difficult after each semester, his grades fell
below the required minimum, hence, he became a flunk out . Yet, he did not abandon his education; he
never gave in to failure, in fact, he leaned from it. Then, with years of tenacity, patience, and faith, he
ultimately became a professor at the same university at which he had failed.
Throughout his book, From Failure to Promise 360 Degrees, Dr. Cleamon Moorer shared more than

19th Century Industrialization Essay
19th Century Industrialization Nineteenth Century Industrialization During the second half of the
nineteenth century, the United States experienced an urban revolution unparalleled in world history up
to that point in time. As factories, mines, and mills sprouted out across the map, cities grew up around
them. The late nineteenth century, declared an economist in 1889, was not only the age of cities, but
the age of great cities. Between 1860 and 1910, the urban population grew from 6 million to 44
million. The United States was rapidly losing its rural roots. By 1920, more than half of the population
lived in urban areas. The rise of big cities during the nineteenth century created a distinctive urban
culture. People from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The tide of immigration rose from just under 3 million in the 1870s to more than 5 million in the
1880s, then fell to a little over 3.5 million in the depression decade of the 1890s, and rose to its high
water mark of nearly 9 million in the first decade of the new century. The numbers declined to 6
million in the 1910s and 4 million in the 1920s, after which official restrictions cut the flow of
immigration down to a negligible level. (Tindall, 938) Immigrants thought of America as a land of
opportunity and felt that they only needed to make to trip across the ocean to become successful. The
roads paved with gold theory led to the downfall of the vast majority of immigrants. They came with
huge aspirations but ended up working for extremely low wages and living in awful living conditions.
Immigrants working for low wages and their constant availability was necessary for industrialization s
success. Without the huge numbers of immigrants 19th Century Industrialization 3. working their
would have been no one to work in the factories. The immigrants were so large in number that they
would take almost any job for any wage. Large owners of factories and business tycoons were able to
make large amounts of money because labor was so cheap. In turn, the economy grew immensely
during the period of industrialization. In What Social Classes Owe to Each Other by William Sumner,
he gives evidence to the fact that the poor man is vital to a society. He writes, There is no

Vote In America
The United States of America revolves around a government run to please the consent of the people.
Because of this, citizens have the right to vote for their mayors, governors, judges, and most
importantly, the president. As the leader of the country, the president should be a direct reflection of all
Americans. With that in mind, the current political system of the Electoral College is not an accurate
representation of all citizens. Many elections, including that of Rutherford B. Hayes, Grover
Cleveland, George W. Bush, and Donald Trump, have resulted in a candidate winning the presidency
without winning the popular vote. Therefore, many Americans wonder whether their vote is vital and
if the current system depicts all citizens. Although the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A rocking horse keeps moving but does not make any progress. The country is still operating, but it is
far from advancing. Political corruption is continuing to fall upon the United States. The country
should no longer dwell on political traditions, but rather make decisions that will advance future
generations. The current political system is increasing the amount of distrust of the central government
which concerns many citizens. Unless the government is willing to make a change, the public is likely
to react with opposition. For the protection of citizens across the nation, a new amendment in which
the president is elected through the popular vote needs to be

Hazardous Chemical Rough Draft
Chemistry 7th INTRO
In 1954, Hinkley, California was a sleepy little town located in the Mojave Desert. People went about
their normal, daily lives without ever suspecting that they were in danger of chemical poisoning. Little
did they know that natural gas compressor station was slowly leaking hexavalent chromium into the
groundwater. Over the course of ten years, hexavalent chromium steadily spread over the town of
Hinkley, unbeknownst to the citizens. The chemical, originally intended to prevent rust in water
towers, was causing health issues in the unsuspecting citizens of Hinkley. For ten whole years, the

The chromium [affected] an area of groundwater at least eight miles long and two miles wide
(California EPA, 2016). Over the course of ten years, the residents of Hinkley were living above this
polluted and contaminated groundwater. Later, in the 1990s, hundreds of Hinkley residents claimed
illnesses and other damages stemming from the contaminated water (Zimmerman, 2013). Hexavalent
chromium is a more toxic and dangerous form of the element chromium. Hexavalent chromium is
both an allergen and a carcinogen, depending on individual reactions. Exposure to this chemical can
cause allergic reactions on the skin, and lung cancer and respiratory issues can be effects of breathing
in or consuming hexavalent chromium. Other sublethal effects include irritation or damage to the skin,
nose, eyes, or throat if hexavalent chromium present in a large amount or a high concentration. In the
case of Hinkley, hexavalent chromium was concentrated enough that it became a health and

The Captain And The First Mate
With the presence of The Doctor the ship had left the dock, the engines roaring they soared into the
sea of stars, embraced by the goddess of the night herself. The captain and the first mate settled into
their positions on the bridge almost immediately, she at her station in front of the main viewport, he
just a bit behind at the helm. The Doctor was no where to be seen of course, he mightn t even be on
the ship any more. Ruari on the other hand was being a nuisance, in the most endearing of ways; if she
wasn t trying to rest her head on the captain s lap she was getting right under the first mate s feet! Still,
her presence was always welcome, she was every bit a part of the crew and had saved both the captain
and the first mate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He reached down and petted her, moving his fingers behind her ears to scratch just the way she liked
it.
Stop that! laughed the first mate, Ruari s tail had been wagging vigorously and brushing the back of
her head. The arcanine was huge, after all, she could only rest her head like that on the captain because
of the raised platform.
Just because she d told him to stop, the captain gave the ecstatic beast an extra enthusiastic scratch.
Ruari s tail was making the first mate s hair look as if it had been in a gale!
Catch! she said as she took something from her pocket and threw it just above the captain s head. Two
can play at that game!
Before the captain had time to notice the mischievous glint in her eyes he d already reached up and
grabbed the object. He felt the uneven texture of the treats that Ruari loved in his hand now but it was
much too late, a whirl of red fur was lunging straight for his hand.
Shi was all he managed to get out before the wind was knocked out of him. He just managed to open
his hand before he felt the roughness and saliva from that damn animal all over his palm, dribbling
down his forearm. Of course it got on his sleeve and therefore everywhere, though he was struggling
too much to get his breath back to pay too much attention to that. It s a good thing I wasn t standing,
you know she can knock me for six!
Serves you right! was all he got in

Incident Command System Research Paper
Incident Command System and Social Media It s the one thing people feel like they can t live without,
social media. Social media connects us to millions of people so we can share pictures, videos, or just
simple messages to each other. You must give appreciation towards prior inventions like the computer,
cellphone, and television because they were what gave birth to social media. Social media has
continued to grow in the past decade and people and organizations must adapt to this new trend of
communication to stay informed. One thing that must adapt to social media is emergency situations. In

management plan that it was adopted nationwide, by the U.S. Coast Guard, and even internationally.
After the events of September 11th terrorist attacks President Bush issued the Homeland Security
Presidential Directive (HSPD) 5, which has a combination of Incident Command System (ICS) and
Multiagency Coordination System (MACS) incorporated into it.
History of Social Media
It started in 1997 as a simple website called Six Degrees and it allowed users to make a profile that
would list information about themselves. This social networking site also allowed users to send
messages and post information on a bulletin. The bulletin would help the users find common interest
with each other. Six Degrees unfortunately only lasted for five years until the company was bought
out. They accomplished a lot in the short time frame they were active by having around 3,000,000
users registered on the site. Six Degrees also laid out the framework for future social network

Insert Flap A and Throw Away was written by S. J. Perelman and first published on February 5, 1944
in The New Yorker ( The New Yorker ). The essay illustrates how a man s struggle with assembling a
toy brings about his nervous breakdown. S. J. Perelman uses irony and humor throughout the essay to
make his point. Readers relate to the anxiety associated with the main character s struggle. Perelman
explores how people allow trivial things to become too important. S. J. Perelman uses phrases like, ...I

Barbie Should Be Banned Analysis
Barbie was manufactured by Mattel for small children to create an imagination about the immense
world that the doll has. In 1952, the inspiration for America s most famous doll was a German doll
named Lilli. However, the creation of Lilli was not intended for the doll to be played with by children.
Lilli was made for adults and gag toys. March 9th 1959, the Barbie doll was first introduced by the
Mattel toy company (Latson, 2015). Since then, according to Ashley Alexander s article Barbie
Product Life Cycle (2012) Barbie has been the leading brand in dolls for over 50 years. This is
because of their ability to adapt to the changing market. Barbie s success comes from it s globalized
production and it s advertisements that they have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

As they watch the morning mist in Oreanda, there is a slight sense of foreboding. They have done

  • 2. Analysis Of Truman Capote s Cold Blood To judge is to irreparably arbitrate; the judged seldom find recourse if an error lies in the judge s logic. In criminal proceedings, the courts judge alleged criminals and deliver verdicts. A frequently encountered issue is determining guilt. Critics of the de facto court system cite moral culpability as an ideal that the courts fail to attain. Priding its moral superiority, the United States surprisingly lacks some of the basic rights to justice afforded to others elsewhere. America purports to have a duty to serve justice, yet the justice system provides little leeway to those whose crimes are not their fault. This notion of unfulfilled justice appears in In Cold Blood by Truman Capote. When Dick and Perry commit murder, the circumstances are such that Perry cannot be entirely accountable for the actions he took. Perry bears no responsibility for the crimes he committed; storied psychological illnesses and pitfalls compromised his sense of right and wrong, rendering him incapable of intervening in his planned crime with Dick. Perry never enjoyed to a hospitable, supportive family environment. Tragedy filled his early years, spoiling his innocent view of the world too early. Evidence of this broken family life is most evident in the commentary of Perry s sister. When asked about Perry, Perry s sister states that She had said she was afraid of Perry, and she was, but was it simply Perry she feared [and]...the terrible destinies that seemed promised the four children of ... • 3. Speed Loss Lab Report RECONSTRUCTION: Pre Crash: On 05 25 2015 at approximately 1940 hours, Vehicle 1 was westbound on County Road 672, east of Dupree Road. The driver of Vehicle 1, for reasons unknown, drove off the north side of CR 672 and onto a grassy shoulder. Vehicle 1 drove approximately 229 feet through the grass before he returned to the roadway. In returning to the roadway, Driver 1 overcorrected his steering and continued in a southwest direction across both lanes of CR 672, for approximately 76 feet, as Vehicle 1 rotated slightly in a counterclockwise direction. As Vehicle 1 left the south road edge, Driver 1 again tried to overcorrect and began to rotate in a clockwise direction, as he drove onto the grassy shoulder. At Crash: Vehicle 1 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I used Limpert s analysis of a rotating vehicle for the distance of 76 feet. The result of this speed loss was less than 1 mile per hour in the overall speed loss of Vehicle 1 and was not factored into the overall speed loss for Vehicle 1. After leaving the south side of the roadway, and driving onto a grass shoulder, Vehicle 1 began to rotate in a clockwise direction, for a distance of approximately 45.16 feet. To determine the speed loss over this distance, the percentage of braking of Vehicle 1 in relation to the rotation angle, must be considered. I utilized the coefficient of friction values based on skid testing conducted by the Institute of Police Technology and Management, (IPTM). IPTM testing, indicates a coefficient of friction of .90 1.50 for a vehicle furrowing. For this speed analysis, I used Limpert s analysis of a rotating vehicle. I utilized the sine value of the angle determined by the path of travel of Vehicle 1 versus the angle of approach at measured distances during the rotation. In conjunction with the standard speed loss equation, the sine value is applied to the coefficient of friction value. The result based on this analysis is a speed loss range of 22.85 mph to 29.50 miles per hour during ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. High School Orchestra Research Paper Many don t realize that an orchestra is a team, a team is defined by Merriam Webster as a group of people who work together. However, being apart of a team is much more important than that, it is a group of people you rely on, that push you to do better. Being apart of a group can requires you to do the same for others: be there for them, push them to be better. Orchestra is very similar to a sports team, in that there is no real star of the show. Because, if one person messes up then they affect everyone. When everyone works hard and plays well together it can be a great experience, but when people don t try and lower the talent level of the group, it can be very frustrating. Because of this, the orchestra dynamic can be very discouraging to be a part of. In a high school orchestra you will see three main types of people: hard workers, attempters, and slackers. ... I don t know how much he practices but I see him in the Youth String Orchestra (YSO) that I play in every Sunday and I believe he takes private lessons. So it wouldn t be much of a surprise if he also practiced often. These are all very common characteristics in hard workers and because of their dedication, are often seated in the front rows. • 5. What Is Openstack And Its Importance Service Providers and enterprises need to ensure that their networks remain a relevant and important part of users everyday experience, and deliver added value in new and unique ways. How new technologies like cloud, Software Defined Networking (SDN) will help them do this and efficient management across network resources and cloud application. In this paper we have talked about what is Openstack and its importance and briefly explored three major Openstack projects Compute, Storage and Network and discussed their capabilities. Secondly we have mentioned three different approaches of SDN Cloud convergence. How SDN proves useful in cloud environment and achieve high flexibility and higher innovation. The also paper presents an alternate architecture that combines SDN and Cloud Architecture. 1. Introduction: Traditional network model requires tremendous commitment of hardware resources, dedicated budgets along with managing On premise datacentre. The enterprise or the IT industry is dependent on its own computing, storage and networking capabilities. Effective solution for the traditional networking model is Cloud. Cloud computing is on demand service. Virtualizing network resource for providing users with the required bandwidth and level of service they expect is the promise of Cloud. There are quite a few cloud service providers who offer cloud services to manage computing and storage resources. But the IT industry and others have to pay for the service. Openstack can be ... • 6. Cortisol Research Paper Cortisol production is stimulated by ACTH secretion from the anterior pituitary via numerous feedback mechanisms according to the circadian rhythm, with peak levels in the early morning and smaller fluctuations throughout the day. ACTH secretion is stimulated by CRH in the hypothalamus which is stimulated by things such as: decreases in plasma cortisol, hypoglycemia, stress, and infection. Secretion of ACTH leads to conversion of cholesterol to cortisol in the zona fasciculata of the adrenal gland via various cytochrome P450 enzymes. Increased levels of cortisol itself cause negative feedback on the pituitary and hypothalamus. The zona glomerulosa is the site of production of Aldosterone, the principal mineralocorticoid, via similar mechanisms (cytochrome p 450.) Aldosterone production is stimulated by activation of the renin angiotensin system in response to decreased intravascular volume (sensed by baroreceptors), decreased sodium levels sensed in the macula densa of the nephron, and by the sympathetic nervous system in response to stress. Over ninety percent of cortisol in the blood is bound to corticosteroid binding globulin, and about ten percent is in the free, biologically active form, however these levels may vary during times of ... They both talk about the virginity and dissoluteness in female sexuality, but have different views about it. In DRACULA, only virginity is accepted; dissoluteness is completely intolerable. Stoker thinks virginity is very precious, and he want the readers know that women will be punished for being lascivious, so each female character has different ending in terms of their virginity. All of these occurred because she was not very pure and loyal when she is a human; she needs to pay for her dissoluteness. The three sisters had already been transformed to be vampires by Dracula, and Stoker makes them as the most sexual ones. In Jonathan s journal, The girl went on her knees, and bent over me, simply gloating. There was a deliberate voluptuousness which was both thrilling and repulsive. Like Lucy, they also need to pay for their dissoluteness, which supports Stoker s view about the preciousness of virginity. In MAXIMUM GAGA, Lara also put a lot of weight on female sexuality, virginity and dissoluteness to be specifically. Basically, the book is all about sexuality, there are sex between human and machines, orifice and all the crazy staffs. The big argument in the book is the relationship between virginity and dissoluteness in female sexuality. It s kind of complex that women have both virginity and dissoluteness at the same time. Particularly with toys that depend on trends and have limited marketability. The expert commentator M. Eric Johnson mentions, Santa needs to stop reacting to fads and start creating them. (McNulty, 2014) Just because the singer said Meowrrr was so yesterday does not take into account the kids who don t follow fads, nor does it take into account regional saturation of this singer s popularity. Market analysis may show that the product may be more popular and sustainable in another region. Stopping production on Meowrrr completely without up to date market knowledge could be just as costly as producing too much. While on the flip side, not producing enough Timmy the Train toys and CDs could also be detrimental. While addressing the 900 superiors of women s religious orders he vowed that he was in agreement and would consider it. This is a decision that I am in agreement with and feel that it is long overdue for a myriad of reasons. Pope Francis papacy began on March 13, 2013 and he vowed to be open to new and fresh ideas to help the Catholic Church become more appealing to those in the 21st century. In vowing to seriously consider the female deacon he is proving to be true to his word, an item one would believe to be de facto with his position. The immediate support for his mention proved this notion worthy and would generate an immediate ground swell of young Christian women without a denomination to at least take a more serious look at Catholicism and it s teachings. Most of the people around the world are right handed. There are four type of handedness. They are Right handedness Major usage of right hand for most activities Left handedness Major usage of left hand Cross dominance Usage of separate hands for separate tasks Ambidexterity Using both hands equally Origin: Different statistics study shows that certain percentage of population belong to particular category is likely to be left or right handed. The differentiation occur in the region of brain more particularly in the motor cortex in the cerebrum. For right handedness people the left hemisphere of the brain dominates and vice versa.. Researchers from University of Oxford and its collaborated universities found the link between the handedness and gene that is involved in this process which is mainly PCSK6 gene[1]. A study conducted with approximately 54,000 individuals revealed that 24% handedness is contributed by genetic factor. The Glass Menagerie Gender In the 1945 play, The Glass Menagerie, American author Tennessee Williams depicts the endeavours that the protagonist and narrator, Tom Wingfield, his mother Amanda and sister Laura face when living within a patriarchal society. When analysed from a gendered and psychoanalytical consideration, the play explores the restrictions and innermost emotions of individuals, reflecting Williams interpretation of living within the 1930s American civilisation. Adopting the play from a gendered lens demonstrates the limitations placed upon men and women, as a result of acquired traditional gender roles. • 16. My Reading and Writing Experience over the Years Literacy Narrative: My Reading and Writing Experience over the Years I have never been the type of student who enjoyed reading or writing. I have always found it difficult to express myself by writing narratives, book reports, and any other required assignment. I am far more skilled at speaking or verbal expression in general as I have found over the years that people tend to misunderstand my point if it is written. When I sit to write, I have to think about what I want to say. This is not easy for me as I tend to think about several things at once. Clearing my mind and focusing on the writing task is a challenge in itself. I do not consider myself a strong writer and find it intimidating especially when I know it will be critiqued. The sense of failure when seeing the paper I worked so hard on look like the newest local headline of a recent murder is disheartening for me. I assume I am being overly critical of myself but those feelings seem to be redeemed when I look over the aftermath of what was my wonderful work of mental art. The irony of all of this is I write many different things in my current job. One any given day I draft contracts, amendments, and addendums to name a few. I have learned a great deal from my bosses and mentors which has made me a better writer and more aware of my grammar and proofreading of work. The interview went really well and the Senior Sister gave me an offer instantly. However upon realising that I could only work part time (23 hours/ week) and not a bank position, I started to wonder whether the job will be suitable for me. Initially was really keen in getting the job because I was fed up of cleaning the wards for mediocre results. I was even more delighted that there was an opportunity to work at Dewsbury Hospital, as I missed volunteering there a lot. However I was upset that a bank position was not available (despite advertising it) and that I had to work contracted hours. The interview went well. This was no surprise as a lot of the questions were based on protocols and the job description (which I knew fairly well). There was one question that did throw me; asking how I could improve a patient s memory (and therefore, decrease the risk of dementia). I tried to stay calm throughout, however, I did feel like I mumbled a lot in my answers. However the Senior Sister insisted that I worked on her ward (a stroke rehab), so I m glad I ... Examples Of Motives In The Crucible In the play, The Crucible [New York: Penguin Group. 2003] by Arthur Miller, the mass hysteria of the witch trials begins with a game in the woods and quickly grows to unbelievable proportion in an atmosphere of ignorance and superstition. In this small, closed community, the hysteria is fed by hidden personal motives including self preservation, fear, jealousy, envy, and revenge which when unchecked and unquestioned, bring tragic consequences. Fear and self preservation are strong motives, and these motives provide the origin of the witch trial in this play. Abigail has been dismissed as a maid by Elizabeth. Abigail is angry and humiliated by this and seeks to get revenge with her false accusations which are believed by the community. Others also find opportunities to exact revenge on their neighbors. Among the victims is Sarah Good who is not totally accepted by the community. Since she is disliked, it is believable to the community that she has cursed their animals (44). Another victim is Goody Osburn who is accused by the Putnams. They maintain that as their midwife, she has caused the death of Mrs. Putnam s babies (44). Goody Osburn is very poor and held in low esteem so there is no one to support her, making it easy to accuse and arrest her. Another example of revenge is based on the hatred between Thomas Putnam and Francis Nurse. The Putnams and Nurses have been fighting over land for some time, and this has caused hard feelings. As Giles says, Putnam accuses people who have land and would have them killed to get it (89). Additionally, Putnam is upset with Nurse because Nurse has opposed Putnam s choice for minister. This results in Rebecca s arrest and a chance for the Putnam s to acquire land. All of these ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Review Of Dr. Cleamon Moorer For I Know the Plans Failure is perhaps one of the most influential things in people s lives because it can alter the course of our actions, by teaching us persistence or leading us the opposite way. Through his book, Dr. Cleamon Moorer guides the readers through an intimate journey about his progression from failure to promise. In the small town of Detroit, Moorer was raised by Christian parents, who taught him love, obedience, and enforced discipline, but most importantly, they nurtured his faith in Jesus Christ. Cleamon Moorer flourished in academics during both elementary and middle school, however, his mischievousness throughout those years earned him many disciplinary sessions. In high school, misbehavior became history, yet, his GPA suffered in the low C s. But with his father s tough discipline and Moore s own effort and faith in God, he later received candidacy for the National Honor s Society. As his college experience began, Cleamon Moore was honored to attend GMI and work along many of his classmates at GM, but when the courses became more difficult after each semester, his grades fell below the required minimum, hence, he became a flunk out . Yet, he did not abandon his education; he never gave in to failure, in fact, he leaned from it. Then, with years of tenacity, patience, and faith, he ultimately became a professor at the same university at which he had failed.
