Filming Progression
We spent our first filming session in the studio experimenting with different lighting arrangements and camera shots to establish a style for our music video. We explored different camera positions around the drummer to get varied shots without moving the lights. A spotlight was also tested to create silhouette effects for singing parts and to add more style, though it did not fit the music genre well. Overall we were able to film different shots and angles to use without significantly changing the lighting setup.

Spencer and I chose our film treatment based on which was the most straightforward to film with our limited resources of time and money. We storyboarded our opening sequence and assigned roles, then prepared props and secured a quiet exterior shooting location at Spencer's house. During the shoot, we encountered problems with unstable handheld camera shots and interruptions, and had difficulty lighting interior shots. In post-production, we graded our shots and edited a rough cut to identify issues before completing our final edit, which required trimming shots to meet the length and find suitable non-copyrighted music.

Siobhan Arnold has recorded the singer Sophia in a professional recording studio and edited the audio. She has planned a filming schedule but has faced some problems. Footage has been gathered during the recording process. The locations planned are secret gardens and Hyde Park. Siobhan wants to make the video as successful as possible and will begin filming next week using her own camera locally. She will continue working on her blog and replanning storyboards to fit conventions of the genre.

- 1. Dead Air Productions Weekly Update 6 16th October 2015
- 2. What we have done This week we have completed more of our paperwork as well as got some of our paperwork marked. We also uploaded paperwork on to our blog. We have improved the paperwork that needed improving and changed the way our blog looked. We filmed more of our short film but due to the sudden change of weather we were not able to do as much as we wanted. We edited the amount we have filmed so far.
- 3. What needs to be done We need to continue filming for our short film and be wary of the weather as it is getting colder. We need to start looking for suitable sound effects we may need, these include heavy breathing, cupboard sounds and ambience outdoor sounds. We need to start choosing the pictures we want to use in our film review and posters out of the one we have taken and take any more pictures if need be.
