Observation Of Parent Infant Interaction
Observational study of parent infant interaction Infants are a special cohort of a population in the
society. Children between the ages of five months to two years are at a stage where they start
familiarizing with their surroundings and have different reactions to situations. The surrounding where
an infant grows greatly determines his or her development. The primary determinant of the
development of infants is the parent infant interaction (Crain, 2015). The first bond or relation of a
child is with its biological parents or guardians in the case of orphaned children. In this paper, I will
analyze the parent infant interaction of a family of four members comprising of father, mother and two
daughters. The mother is a physician in the referral hospital. The mother is a hardworking woman who
is obsessed with perfection. She is specialized in pediatrics hence aware of many developmental
milestones in infants. The youngest daughter is one and a half years old whereas the firstborn daughter
is four years old. For this assignment, an observation of the younger kid was done in the apartment
where the family lives. According to the observation, the younger child is scared of strangers based on
her reaction when carried by other people who are not part of the family. She cries a lot and seems
scared of the unfamiliar faces. She is in particular resistant to the male individuals. She is slightly
friendly to the females who carry her but remains calm. The reaction was prominent when one family
visited during the observation. The friend was a bearded young man. His hair was frightening to the
kid as she could cry loudly when being carried by him. The positive attitude towards the female was
recognized after the wife of the visiting family carried the kid. The reaction can be related to the child
s preference for gender. The behavior disturbs the mother as she thinks this might have a negative
impact on her child s sexuality. She is worried that the kid even at her old age is more likely to have a
preference for female individuals than male individuals. Furthermore, based on the observation, the
kid is highly attracted to brightly colored patterns as opposed to dull or darker shades of colors.

A Discussion Of The Old And New Testaments Essay
Wisdom is generally understood as the right application of knowledge. Moreover, it is regarded as
basic to a theological understanding of the twin concepts of Creation and Redemption, and this
extends its relevance to both a discussion of the Old and New Testaments. In specific terms Wisdom is
associated with Creation and with Redemption in both Testaments as an illustration of its importance
in overall Salvation History.
Wisdom is generally understood as the right use of knowledge. More than that, it is thought of as basic
to a religious understanding of the twin ideas of Creation and Redemption, and thisextends its
relevance to both a discussion of the Old and New Testaments. In clearly stated/particular terms
Wisdom is related to Creation and with Redemption in both Testamentsas an illustration of its
importance in overall (saving or protecting someone from sin or harm)History.
While the dominant trend in Old Testament theology has been either to neglect wisdom literature or to
consider it to be outside the mainstream of Israelite faith, some scholars have offered important
insights into both the theology of the sages and how it relates to the larger biblical theology. We begin
with the place of wisdom in several of the leading presentations of Old Testament Theology since the
Second World War, and then move on to the different approaches to understanding the theology of the
sages by contemporary wisdom scholars.

Overcoming Adversity And Obstacles In The Circuit, By...
Helen Keller once said, Although the world is full of suffering, it is also about overcoming it. Helen
Keller faced a lot of adversity and obstacles in her life. But she got through it. Everyone faces
obstacles in their lives, some more than others, but no ones life is just a sunny sea. I will be telling of
four stories that are full of amazing people, who, against all odds powered through obstacles and kept
going with their lives and competing their dreams against all odds. The Circuit To start off, I will be
talking about the story, The Circuit (written by Francisco Jimenez) Panchito, a young kid who belongs
to a family of migrant workers, struggles having to leave his homes everytime the harvest ends. This
leads him to not having many friendships, missing school very often, and not always having the
greatest sleeping quarters. The shed they were given at the new place wasn t great, but it was
something, and they were grateful for it. When Panchitos parents finally agreed that he could go to
school again, he was very happy. At this new school he met a amazing teacher willing to help him
learn to speak better english and even to play the trumpet. But unfortunately, a few when he came
home from school, he saw his family already packing to move ... Show more content on

One of the ways is shown in the narrative was when Panchito kept doing the hard labor in the fields
everyday. He never once quit because it was too hard, or complained because he wanted to go to
school. Many people in our society would complain and beg for a break, leaving other people to do
the work. Following that, not only did panchito show remarkable characteristics, his family did as
well. Once Panchitos mom found a landowner willing to take them in, she was so grateful. The shelter
they were given was a garage with termite ridden walls and a dirt floor, but they didn t whine about
the conditions, they swept up and were thankful for

Reflection Paper On Wrestling
One of the biggest goals I have in life to win a state championship in my favorite sport. That sport is
wrestling. I have wrestled since I was young in the third grade. I was considered very overweight for
my age. I sat at about ninety pounds as a 9 year old. My parents wanted me to start being physically
active and to get in shape. I remember being in a buffalo wild wings and watching a wrestling match
on the television and how cool I thought it was. I told my paresnts that wrestling was the sport i
wanted to do. The coach was a short man from India and he had tons of experince from teaching
wrestling back in his home country. He showed me all of the basics and I felt very proud as i mastered
each technique. When the day of my first match came I was so nervous. My first match was called and
I went out and lost pretty bad. My next match was called and I lost again and because I had lost two I
was out. During the third grade I only won one match. When the fourth grade came around I didnt
want to do wrestling anymore because I thought I would just lose again. When I turned twelve and
started junior high i heard that the wrestling team was pretty good at that school so I gave it a shot.
Since the third and fourth grade I had gotten in much better shape and I did a decent job at wrestling
and all the technique I learned was coming back to me. Once seventh grade came I was already ready
for wrestling to start. The first duel of the season we had was amazing. I did great my first

William Chandler s Farewell My Lovely
Detective fiction at its finest is displayed through the famous novel by Raymond Chandler called,
Farewell My Lovely. Chandler published this novel in 1940 with every intention of giving his readers
something dark and mysterious to dive into. Throughout the novel, the kind of protagonist that we
naturally expect to encounter, is much more the opposite. The unconventional hero in this case would
be the suggested protagonist names Philip Marlowe. He plays a cynical man who appears to not need
any additional company but his own when solving the crimes committed around town. That is one of
the most appealing features that caught my attention about Marlowe. He entertains the reader with his
bravery and ambiguous heroism throughout the corrupt streets of L.A. Corruption, murder and this
complicated character guiding us through the thick of these cases are the three key aspects that make
Chandler s novels so appealing. The association that a reader has with an anti hero of a novel is very
similar to a love hate relationship. We want to love him for the gritty, yet effective work, but for one
who drinks as hard and heavy as Philip Marlowe does, its hard to keep their best interest at heart.
Chandler isn t the only author who tries to make the reader root for the bad guy. A few classic
examples of this would be our frequently discussed Detective Sherlock Holmes, and the recent TV
series called Breaking Bad.
Sherlock Holmes is a great example of an anti hero. He reminds me much

Artificial Intelligence Advantages
Artificial Intelligence: 1 Introduction to Artificial Intelligence 1.1 Artificial Intelligence (AI):
Artificial Intelligence, abbreviated as AI, is defined as the intelligence exhibited or shown by the
machines. AI is the ability of a machine to mimic intelligent human actions. In other words, artificial
intelligence refers to the study of intelligent agents . 1.1.1. Artificially Intelligent agents: Artificially
Intelligent agents are the machines that recognize and understand their environment and respond
accordingly. The term artificial intelligence is applied to refer to the machines or systems that carry
functions similar to human minds such as the art of learning and problem solving etc. 1.2 Activities

It has disadvantages as well. One major disadvantage is the cost incurred in its maintenance and
repair.Programs need to be updated to suit the changing requirements and machines need to be made
smarter. In case of a breakdown, the cost may be very high. If the control of machines goes in wrong
hands it may cause destruction. As machines cannot think, they can be usedto do the wrong things or
for mass destruction. The intuitive abilities that human possess, the way humans can judge based on
their previous knowledge, the inherent abilities that they have, cannot be replicated by machines. Also,
machines lack common sense. If robots begin to replace humans in every field, it will eventually lead
to unemployment. People will be left to do nothing. So much empty time may result in destructive
use. Machines may not be as efficient as humans in altering their responses depending on the changing
situations as they are programmed to function in a usual manner. With the heavy application of AI,
humans may become overly dependent on machines, losing their mental

Advantages And Disadvantages
A.C 1.1 Discuss the benefits and constraints of different networking systems, types and topologies.
Analyse and clearly identify the requirements of the system for this network in order to convince the
management of the given case study company.
There are many types of networks here are a few examples of them; WAN, LAN, MAN PAN.
WAN (Wide Area Network) is a network which maybe computer or telecommunications network that
extends in a large geographical distance, it interconnects a multiple of (LANs) Local Area Networks.
The Advantages of a WAN are;
WANs allow a great and more intricate network also can cover a near infinite geographical distance.
WANs mainly occur in large environments, Connections are available from country to country,
building to building etc. in other words the internet. The typical large size of a WAN is what separates
it from a LAN, WANs are generally slower than LANs, the further the distance the slower the
network.
One of the biggest Disadvantages of WAN is the cost that it can come with, having a private WAN is
often expensive. One of the main reason WANs are expensive is because of the technology used to
expand on massive scales. Speaking on large scale, the larger the network the less speed which causes
latency (Works, 2017).
Here is a diagram of a wide area network:
Figure 1: wide area network (NetPrivateer, 2013)

Reflection Paper On Service Learning
My service Learning Project I had the opportunity to volunteer with Health Sciences Charter High
School which is a local school that academically challenges the learning environment preparing them
to communicate effectively, think and reason critically, value diversity, in which is founded by local
healthcare industry and strive for their students to become productive and valued members of the
community. The school is located in a generally low income neighborhood and children in need on the
East Side of Buffalo area. Health Science organizes afterschool programs, along with having programs
that pushed their students beyond.
Service learning is a lot more than helping someone for the sake of it, it is a process of involving
yourself in community service activities engaging and learning while combined with facilitated means
by being able to apply the experience to academic and personal development. A good service learning
partnership is mutually beneficial, with both the learning goals of the course and the needs of the
community partner being met. Being at Health Science charter school has taught me the importance of
culturally relevant teachers along with role models students are able to talk to interact not just have
taught them for six hours of a day. Being there showed me I had stereotypes of the school being in the
area but going there and seeing those students has reduced the stereotypes that I had made and gain a
greater intercultural understanding. Having done

Essay about The Success of the Massachusetts Bay Colony
In the 1600 s, two colonies were establishing themselves on the east coast of North
America. In 1607, a group of merchants, known as the Virginia Company, settled at Jamestown,
Virginia on the Chesapeake Bay (Divine, 72); while Puritan leader John Winthrop, stationed himself
and his followers at Massachusetts Bay in 1630. (Divine, 90) Although both settlements started off
relatively the same, the greater success of one over the other has caused continuous debates between
many, including the descendants of these early Americans. Some might argue that the Virginia Colony
was more successful than the Massachusetts Bay Colony because of the Virginia colonists motivation
and interest in profit (Divine, 76). However, when efforts for income ... Show more content on

The Virginia colonists on the other hand, were unable to achieve this sense of community, as a result
of the high mortality rate in the colony. Many complications arose among the people because of this.
For example, since the ratio between men and women was three to one, many spouses, especially
women, often remarried with children after one of the spouses died. These situations created complex
families, and hostility among its members (Divine, 81). However, because of the constant amount of
fatalities in the colonies, immigrants were continuously sent, making them the large majority of the
population (Divine, 84). This made creating a community in the Chesapeake Bay Colony almost
impossible because of the uncertainty the people had about one another. And because this chain of
events continued, the attempt of composing a society became a seemingly hopeless endeavor among
colonists of Virginia.
Within the colony of Massachusetts, religion played an important role in shaping the community s
people and interests. The reason for the Puritans move to North America was to escape the convictions
the Christians of England were placing on them (Divine, 89). Winthrop and his followers believed that
in this new land they must create a place where they could come together as a people and build the
perfect religious society (Divine, 90). In a speech about his vision for the land, John Winthrop said,

Billy Elliot Analysis
The film Billy Elliot, by Stephen Daldry, gives a point of view of what this young boy goes through
when he is family does not accept his new found love for ballet. One day at boxing practice, Billy sees
the ballet practice going on and decides to join in. Little did he know he would enjoy it as much as he
did. Although Billy enjoyed it so much, it was not easily accepted by his family and they made that
show clearly understood. Throughout the film this is the storyline that is really defining the separation
between sex and gender. I believe the author, Stephen Daldry, uses the separation between sex and
gender to show what the gender norms are and how they are looked down upon in some places if not
followed correctly.

already understands he is more into boys than girls, Billy becomes very interested in how a boy so
young can already know that. Thinking about the fact that Michael and Billy are the same age and
assuming that Michael is not forming to the basic boy actions of society it is very impressive that
these boys do not care about what others think about them. Such as the scene where Billy shows up at

Las Vegas or the meadows as its Spanish name translates is the largest city in the state of Nevada. Las
Vegas was born in 1905, when William Andrews Clark sold 110 acres of land adjacent to the Union
Pacific Railroad tracks for $265,000. Officially incorporated in 1911, over the course of just 100
years, the small railroad town grew to become the most populous American city that was founded in
the 20th century. Today, Las Vegas has a population of 603,488 and a wider metropolitan area of
above 2 million, which makes it the 29th largest city in the USA. With 4,000 to 8,000 people moving
here each month, it s also one of the fastest growing cities in the country.
Mostly famous for its mega hotels and casinos, Las Vegas is considered to be the gambling and
entertainment capital of the world. The major events that shaped Las Vegas as a gambling center
occurred in 1931, when the construction of the Hoover Damn began, bringing thousands of workers
into the city. At the same time, the state of Nevada decided to legalize gambling. Consisted solely of
males from across the country, the work force created a market for large scale entertainment. ... Show

Tuberculosis Vaccination Research
The decision to vaccinate or to not vaccinate a child against a particular disease is a modern
controversial subject. When in regard to the tuberculosis vaccination, parents in the United States
should vaccinate their children. Tuberculosis is a disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis that
most commonly affects the lungs. The etiologic agent can be expelled from one infected person via a
sneeze or a cough, and enter the air and then the body of another person, leading to another infected
person ( Tuberculosis, 2012). According to What is TB? (n.d.), someone who has diagnosed
tuberculosis but is not receiving any form of treatment can pass the disease to up to 15 people in on
year. Treatment of TB is necessary, so if symptoms are ignored, an infected person could die.
Prevalence of this disease is not as common in the United States as it is in other countries. In 2014,
there were approximately 9,421 reported cases; trends show that TB prevalence continues to decreases

Since 1921, this vaccination had been used in prevention of TB infections and in present day is the
only licensed vaccine in use as a prevention tool for tuberculosis. Unfortunately, the effectiveness of
BCG is not very high, as there is still close to 9 million people every year globally being infected by
tuberculosis. The vaccination has about an 80% effectiveness in prevention of tuberculosis for 15
years, but as people get older, BCG seems to be decreasingly effective. One of the more crucial
prevention techniques for avoiding tuberculosis is simply by having a healthy and non compromised
immune system. Adults who are considered to have a healthy immune system are automatically at an
advantage; their immune systems will most likely be able to kill Mycobacterium tuberculosis on its
own. About 6/10 of all adults will have immune systems that are powerful enough to do so ( What is

The Differences Between People With Autism And The People...
Perception refers to the process of taking in, organizing, and interpreting sensory data. Perception is
multimodal, with multiple sensory inputs contributing to motor responses (Bertenthal 1996). In this
paper, I will discuss the many differences between people with autism and the people without and how
each person reacts to the same stimuli differently. I will focus on a teenage boy named Brandon, who
has Autism, the parents have known that he had ASD since he was 16 months of age where they
entered him into early intervention. Each person focuses differently on the perception of each thing in
the world, but when you add a person with autism into the mix everything changes completely. When
it comes to perception I believe that top down processing is going to be the focus of this paper since, it
has a lot to do with perception, that perception may start with the brain this includes a person s
knowledge, experience, and expectation.
People with Autism experience different perceptions in response to the same stimulus than people
without a disability.

Persuasive Essay About Cancer
Cancer, one of the most well known diseases of today s world, has never ceased to interest me. To this
day, modern technology has brought an amazing amount of cures and vaccines to fight off a multitude
of diseases! Yet for some reason, no one has found a veritable solution to cancer, despite countless
years of intensive research. As this happens, many around the globe diagnosed with cancer struggle
every second of their lives to conquer it. One such person was my grandma, who was diagnosed with
a terminal cancer (leukemia) around five years ago. We were close and intimate with each other, so
this was mentally distressing for me. At that time, she did not have much money and thus could not
afford her cancer treatments. No one was able to contribute because the treatments were extortionate
at that time. Unfortunately, she was not able to win her battle. Another person I knew who was
affected by cancer was a boy who went to my school: Ryan Kerr. He always had a glowing personality
and displayed nothing but pure generosity. He bravely fought against his cancer Osteosarcoma and
refused to stop until he could not continue further. To help other kids facing the dreadful and dragging
surgeries he once had to go through, Ryan Kerr and his family started a volunteer organization called

Descriptive Dining At Home
You finally meet a significant other and you want to impress them with an appetizing home cooked
meal. Unfortunately, your idea of fine dining at home is Raman Noodles served in a bowl and not in
the foam cup. Raman Noodles, even served in a bowl, will not impress any date. Now picture yourself
sharing a warm, freshly crafted pizza. A pizza with fried chicken smothered with provolone cheese. A
pizza with a pop of flavor provided by bell peppers. A pizza seamlessly put together with ranch
dressing. This simple recipe for chicken ranch pizza will make you resistible to any date. To complete
the following recipe, you will need one boneless chicken breast (an ideal size for the chicken breast is
the size of your hand), soy sauce, lemon juice, a bell pepper, shredded provolone cheese, salt, Cayenne
pepper, flour, olive oil, one large egg, and one frozen cheese pizza (preferably Di Giorno rising crust).
First you need to prep the chicken breast. If your chicken breast is frozen, let your chicken breast
thaw. To speed up the thawing process, you may use a microwave. However, set the microwave to
defrost mode before thawing your chicken, which will prevent the chicken from drying out and will
keep the chicken moist. Thaw the chicken, on defrost mode, for approximately five to six minutes.
After thawing the chicken, take a sharp knife and make a horizontal cut across the middle of the
breast. Always act carefully when working knives. Remember to keep the blade down and always cut
away from yourself. Cut the chicken into long strips with roughly one quarter inch of thickness.
Reducing the thickness of the breast will reduce the amount of time needed to cook the chicken fully.
Now make a vertical cut every half inch to both strips of chicken. The chicken pieces should resemble
the size and shape of your middle and ring finger combined. After cutting the chicken, wash hands
thoroughly with warm water and soap. Always wash your hands after touching raw meat to prevent
cross commination. Do not touch any other ingredient before washing your hands.
Next you need to assemble the marinade for the chicken. Start with a deep dish baking pan and add
one and half cups of soy sauce or until the bottom of the pan is

Age Of Enlightenment
During the 18th century, a worldwide movement, more commonly recognized as the Age of
Enlightenment, encouraged the spread of philosophical thinking, science, communications, and
politics. This movement gradually branched out from Northern Europe and reached places such as the
United States of America and France, encouraging the American and French Revolutions. The
Enlightenment brought about a new age of philosophical and intellectual thinkers, such as John Locke,

America s Declaration of Independence.) Natural rights became the staple of Locke s political
philosophy. Locke believed that an individual was born with the right and duty to their own life,
including their property. His idea based off of natural rights has become what he is most commonly
recognized for in politics. Much like Locke s belief in natural rights, he also believed in the social
contract theory. The social contract theory is the agreement among people in a society to cooperate in
order to receive social benefits. The government could only be a legitimate government with the
consent of the people that it governs, along with their agreement to obey its laws (Thompson, Bruce
E.R. social contract theory. ) If the citizens obey the rules of its government, then the government
should protect their natural rights such as their freedom of speech, equality, and property. Locke s
social contract theory became one of the ideas that capital punishment was founded off of, however,
he was not the only enlightened thinker to have this theory. Both John Locke and Thomas Hobbes
believed in the social contract theory, but they had conflicting ideas. Hobbes believed in an absolute
monarchy, a form of government in which Locke was greatly opposed to, and that the people must
obey the law, but trying to overthrow their king would be a violation of the contract. In contrast to
Locke, who believed that the citizens have the right to rebel against its government if they

Scott Joplin Essay
Scott Joplin (1868 1917)
Scott Joplin, commonly known as the quot;King of Ragtime quot; music, was born on November 24,
1868, in Bowie County, Texas near Linden. Joplin came from a large musical family. His father, Giles
Joplin was a musician who had fiddled dance music while serving as a slave at his master s parties.
His mother, Florence Givens Joplin, born free and out of slavery, sang and played the banjo, and four
of his brothers and sisters either sang or played strings.
Joplin s talent was revealed at an early age. Encouraged by his parent s, he became extremely

This opera did not actually reach popularity until some 60 years later. New York proved to be
stimulating for Joplin s creative mind. There he published many ragtime jewels, on right after another.
In 1916, Joplin s career came to an abrupt end. Joplin contracted syphilis and began suffering the
terminal effects of this disease. He suffered from paranoia, dementia, penalization, and other
symptoms. In the latter part of 1916, he was admitted to Manhattan State Hospital, a mental hospital,
where he would never leave until he passed away on April 1, 1917. After his death, Joplin s body was
buried in the Astoria section of Queens, New York in St. Michael s Cemetery.
In Joplin s many years of composing, he was never actually acknowledged as the great composer that
he really was. There just was not any opportunities for black musicians during those times to have
their music heard by anyone in the serious musical world. Joplin s music received recognition
posthumously as a result of the revival of ragtime music in the 1970 s, as well as during its popularity
in the 1920 s and 1930 s.
Throughout his entire life, Joplin was mostly influenced to increase his musical skills by his mother
and father, both being musicians themselves. More than type of influence upon himself, Joplin was
one to place the influence on others. His works sparked the writings of his contemporaries, all those
who studied with him, and all those who studied his music.

harassed her and after he was afraid that she would tell someone and he would get in trouble and later
killed her. In 2006 a thailand school teacher John Mark Karr confessed to killing Jonbenet Ramsey. In
his earlier years he had child pornography charges in the us. He was immediately dismissed as a

The Kite Runner, By Khaled Hosseini
Khaled Hosseini once said: there are a lot of children in Afghanistan, but little childhood. Rape in
Afghanistan is said to be an epidemic, but according to the Oxford Dictionary, the definition of the
term is a widespread occurrence of an infectious disease in a community at a particular time. Rape in
this country is viewed as something that is inevitable and cannot be stopped. Usually, rape also
involves domestic violence, hence the reason they re paired together. Contrary to common
misconception, men are raped as well as women, especially children of both genders. In the Kite
Runner, rape is a topic that is prevalent in and throughout the book. Bacha Bazi is even a part of the
Kite Runner.
Bacha Bazi is a phrase that is a significant piece of the plot of the Kite Runner. It alludes to the rape of
little boys. In the story, the protagonist, Amir, must go to Afghanistan to save his nephew from being a
bacha bazi sex slave. With Amir s decision to take action, he internally hopes that it will rid him of the
guilt he felt as a child when he saw Hassan, his brother, raped. His guilt manifests over time because
he did not support him by standing up for him. As part of the practice, rich people who buy the boys as
slaves sometimes them dress up in female clothing. Sometimes they re forced to wear fake breasts.
Prepubescent teens and even young children, specifically the boys, are seen as a socially acceptable
substitute for girls in this society. Afghanistan

How Does Shakespeare Show Loyalty In Othello
Reconsidering Loyalty and Honesty in Shakespeare s Othello
Othello is full of betrayals and broken bonds from almost all of the relationships that Shakespeare s
characters form in the play. Loyalty and honesty, or the lack thereof, are both essential parts of the
friendships and meaningful bonds in the play. Society perceives loyalty as the faithfulness in those in
relationships and those that have created a certain bond, and honesty as sincere without deceit or
untruthfulness. This paper focuses on Othello, arguing that the traditional ideas of loyalty, with an
emphasis on honesty, in relationships should be rethought through the many characters interactions
and motives. By examining how traditional definitions of loyalty and honesty in ... Show more content

Othello married Desdemona out of his love for her, but eventually kills her because he no longer
believes that she is loyal, while Emilia, Desdemona s attendant and Iago s wife, tries to convince him
otherwise and calls Iago a betrayer.
Shakespeare does not waste any time developing the manipulative character of Iago, as his
Machiavellian actions are introduced in the first scene of Othello. Iago is a soldier in the Venetian
army, who wanted the position of the lieutenant. When Othello, the Venetian army general, appoints
Cassio to this position instead of Iago, he begins to portray a revengeful character with problematic
actions. When Iago states, I am not what I am (1.1.64), this is the first notion that the audience and the
characters will not know who he is because his thoughts and his actions are different. He says this to
prove that Othello truly does not know who he is and that he may seem good on the outside, but it bad
on the inside. In his article, I am not what I am Destructive Emotions in an Organizational Hierarchy:
The Case of Othello and Iago, Chris Poulson argues that Iago is Shakespeare s most complex and
powerful character as we see him plotting revenge and his hatred for Othello in the first scene, which
sets the tone for what is to come in the tragedy.

The Montgomery Bus
December 1, 1955 was a day that I will never forget because it marks the anniversary of the
Montgomery bus incident. On that date, I had gotten on a city bus to head home after a long day
working at the tailor shop, and I was later arrested. At this point, my mind was focused on why
equality is deserved and how I should defend my spot on the bus. I had been sitting in a seat in the
back half of the bus where I was supposed to go. During a certain point in the ride home, there had
been an excess amount of people getting on compared to the usual 5 10 passengers. Therefore, some
of us blacks had been told to give up our seats to the white people who deserved it more. Me, being

It was a normal day, and I was at work until I had to go. Then everything took a turn once I had sat
down on the bus and was asked to give up my seat to a more deserving person than I. The way I
reacted was by deciding that standing up for myself was the best way to go. So, I stayed on the bus
until the bus driver had called the police to come and get me. They eventually had shown up to where
I was on the bus and handcuffed me, and I was then arrested sitting in a cop car. At the start of the day,
I had foreseen a nice, normal day without having big problems to worry about such as this one. As
soon as this had all happened, and I was arrested and put in jail, my whole day was turned around.
This being said, jail was a very different experience compared to everyday normal routines. It was so
isolated, and you were put in a cell with very little places to sit or things to do. Jail was not a place I
would call nice, but once you re there, you start to think about what you did to end up there in the first
place. Even with those thoughts, I still had the gut feeling, wondering why segregation was a rule that
had to be made. The idea of separating people for the color of their skin was just a way of
discriminating race against people. Many African Americans were living in poverty and ended up in
desperate need for simple, everyday items because they weren t allowed to have good jobs to pay for
those costs. I myself grew up in a family where everyone, no matter what the age, as long as you could
walk and talk, had to work a job to earn money. There were times in my life, when my family and I
barely had enough to keep our house. This just goes to show that everyone matters, and nobody should

Impact of British Imperialism
In the late 1800 s, European nations only controlled about 10 percent of the continent of Africa,
France to the north and Britain to the south (Edgar, 2008). As time goes by, other countries gain
conquests, mostly in western areas of Africa. This essay will go over a few key points in history that
led to the Age of Imperialism and the British colonization of Southern Africa. The essay will also
identify key players in this age. Southern Africa was known for its gold and other valuable items that
made it so appealing to Europeans. This and many other reasons led to wars over the areas that had
high gold content.

Britain was also interested in areas known to be rich in minerals like the country of Transvaal, (David,
2011). They also aimed at keeping other countries out of their territories so as to not lose the upper
hand in the search for gold and priceless gems. Because of this plan to keep other countries out, by the
late 1800 s Britain was in control of about 30% of Africa s population.
Although the plan to abolish slavery, set down by the regulations put out by the Berlin conference,
slavery still flourished in the Congo. A French missionary by the name of Cardinal Charles Lavigerie,
exposes King Leopold as the sole profiteer of slave trade in the Congo, (David, 2011). So at a sermon
in Paris at St. Sulpice in 1888, Lavigerie shocked the people with the horrible things King Leopold s
men were subjecting the natives of Africa to (David, 2011). At this, Brussels Conference, King
Leopold would agree to abolish Arab slave trade in return for the right to tax imports, (David, 2011).
On the subject of African Resistance, conflicts between natives did not change during the invasion
from outside nations. Those that were in conflict stayed in conflict. Because of this continuing
conflict, there was not unification of the people of Africa to rise up against these invaders and take
back what is theirs, (Talton). There were to ways that the resistance was being handled, by

A diminutive tribe called the Aztecs strolled around northwestern Mexico up until AD 1116. As
claimed by one legend, the Aztec god of the sun and war, Huitzilopochtli, ordered their people to
advance south until they found a new everlasting home. He said that their new home would be marked
with a discernible indication. The sign was an eagle on a cactus with a snake in his mouth. It took the
tribe more than a hundred years of searching. Finally, a priest found the sign in the Valley of Mexico.
However, other people already lived there. They didn t want to allocate their domain with the Aztecs.
So, the Aztecs were stuck with the swamp like area surrounding Lake Texcoco.

Criticalpaper And A Rose For Emily
During the nineteenth century, many women were pressured to fit into their societal roles. Both
Charlotte Perkins Gilman and William Faulkner wrote stories inspired by those nineteenth century
social issues. Even though Faulkner wrote his story, A Rose for Emily , 40 years after Gilman s story,
The Yellow Wall paper , both stories portray several types of nineteenth century social issues
accurately. Because of their knowledge about these social issues, Gilman and Faulkner were able to
portray the main characters struggles. Both main characters of these stories, the narrator and Emily,

Because of her experience as a woman in the nineteenth century, Gilman based her story on the
treatment of hysteria . While Gilman s story focuses on late nineteen century issues, Faulkner writes
about a town stuck in early nineteenth century ideals. Before the Civil War, upper class women were
held to the ideal of a southern belle . The New Encyclopedia of Southern Culture explains that because
much of the ideals remained in the late century, the pre Civil War era women were strongly held to
their class hierarchy (268). After the Civil War had ended, the South began to change rapidly.
According to The New Encyclopedia of Southern Culture, the Civil War changed the class dynamics
of the region (231). Although the story is set throughout the change of the south, many of the older
townspeople are stuck treasuring old ideals and expectations. Emily is continuously held to these
grand expectations and eventually falls into hysteria because of them. While the contexts of the issues
are different, both of the main characters struggle with the expectations and ideals that are placed on
them. Through the expectations and values of women in the nineteenth century, Gilman is able to
portray the reason for the narrator s hysteria . Throughout the story, the narrator s husband seems to
belittle most of her statements. In her essay, critic Rula Quawas suggests that the

In What Major Ways Did Confucian Philosophy Manifest...
1. In what major ways did Confucian philosophy manifest itself in Chinese society during the Ming
and/or Qing dynasties?
It is clear from examining the philosophical thought and social trends during both the Qing and Ming
dynasties that Confucian thought and ideology had a profound effect on Chinese society and moral
values during that period.
Confucian philosophy is an ethical and philosophical thinking system thought to have been developed
from the teachings of Kong Fuzi, known as Confucius who lived between 551 478 BC in China.
[1]The essence of Confucianism is that the human mind can be cultivated through virtue and moral
perfection. Confucianism has had tremendous influence on Chinese history and culture as well as

This branch of Neo Confucianism was known as The School of principle . Although his works were
written during the Song Dynasty, by the time of the Ming and Qing dynasty, they had been adopted as
key text for the imperial examinations which meant that most of the educated men of that period
would have a high of understanding of his thought. [11]One of Zhu Xi s most famous books was the
book family rituals where he offered advice on many rituals including how to conduct weddings,
funerals, family ceremonies, and the veneration of ancestors.[12] Zhu Xi was also known for
implementing Buddhist thought into his philosophy. He argued for a Buddhist sense of high moral and
also argued that one should engage in both academic and philosophical pursuits.[13]
The other branch of neo Confucianism advocated by Wang Yang Ming was known as the school of
mind which was founded by Ch eng Hao (1032 1085). [14] Although this school of thought also
believed that the material world was built from a single immaterial principle, the difference was that
this principle existed solely in the human mind. Wang Yang Ming believed that the principle of the
universe is equivalent to the human mind and that the practice of humanity, referred to as jen unifies
man with the universe. Wang Yang Ming expanded on this saying that innate knowledge can manifest
the original mind that is equivalent to the universe.[15] The innate knowledge, in his opinion,

The Digestive Enzyme Amylase
The digestive enzyme amylase was analysed in two different species of gastropod (the herbivorous
Turbo smaragdus and the carnivorous Cominella adspersa), in order to assess whether diet influences
digestive enzyme activity. This was determined by preparing a tissue homogenate from the digestive
gland of each of the species and comparing their measured absorbance to that of a standard curve that
reflected the relationship between absorbance and enzyme units.
Amylase activity (in units of enzyme per gram) was significantly higher in the herbivorous species
than in the carnivorous species, yet there was wide disparity in activity within the species indicating a
degree of plasticity in the enzyme s activity. The difference between T. smaragdus and C. adspersa
does, however, indicate that the activity of amylase follows a pattern influenced by diet in these
species.
Introduction
Most animals possess digestive enzymes that allow them to digest the food they consume. There is,
however, variation between species in the activity of individual enzymes (Chan, et al. 2004;
Chakrabati, et al. 1995), and this can indicate feeding ecology in animals. For instance, Kuz mina
(1996) found that certain digestive enzymes were correlated with diet composition: amylase activities
were lowest in carnivorous species of fish and highest in herbivores. Hence, the physiological
requirements to live as a carnivore or herbivore certainly differ between families.
Not only is this effect apparent in

The Cardiac Cycle Is Vital For Proper Cardiovascular...
Task 1b
The Cardiac Cycle
The cardiac cycle is vital for proper cardiovascular system function. The cardiovascular system
transports nutrients and waste to and from the cells of the body the heart (and subsequently the cardiac
cycle) provides the power to this system.
The cardiac cycle is the sequence of steps that are carried out when the heart beats. There are two
main phases of the cardiac cycle; the diastolic phase and the systole phase. The diastole phase causes
the heart to fill with blood and the systole phase moves the blood from the heart to the arteries. One
cardiac cycle is completed when the heart fills with blood and then is pumped back out of the heart.
The two main phases can be broken down into four steps.
Key Definitions
Atria: The heart is divided into four chambers that are connected by heart valves, the upper two heart
chambers are called atria.
Ventricles: The heart is divided into four chambers that are connected by heart valves, the lower two
chambers of the heart are called ventricles.
Atrioventricular valves: a valve between an atrium and ventricle of the heart.
Vena cava: the two largest veins in the body, carry de oxygenated blood from various regions of the
body to the right atrium of the heart.
SA node: The sinoatrial node is a section of nodal tissue located in the upper wall of the right atrium.
Sets the rate of contraction for the heart. Spontaneously contracts and generates nerve impulses that

Apple Vs. Fbi Case
Apple vs. FBI In today s society, technology has become one of the most used and most sought after
developments of the millennium. In a recent case the FBI petitioned for Apple to unlock the phone of
Syed Farook, the man responsible for shooting and killing 14 people in San Bernardino, California.
The FBI believed Apple should create a new software that would not erase the data from iPhones after
ten failed attempts to unlock the phone. Apple replied that they had a responsibility and an obligation
to protect the privacy of their customers. Supporters of Apple s response have argued, creating a new
software was not a wise decision. In the past, government agencies have been known for their abuse of
power. Had Apple chosen to create a master key for this particular case, there would be no limit to
government invasion of privacy. In the end Apple could have potentially lost costumers by changing
the protection of their cellular products. The issue has already been raised that creating software to
access one locked device could potentially open the door for hackers to invade millions of other
people s devices. I agree that Apple should not create a new software to unlock the phone because
once a master lock is created there are no limitations to who or how the coding can be used. Although
this case seems unique in matter the government has a history of invading the privacy of American
companies and citizens. In 2013, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) filed a brief

Juror 4 is an educated and logical man because all of his arguments are based on the facts and
evidence. He also notices some details that other jurors ignored at the beginning. He illustrates that the
murder weapon, which is an unusual carved handle and blade knife is a strong evidence that proves
the boy is the suspect because the knife is so unique and the shop owner also confirms that the knife
the boy has is the only one in stock. And it is not possible that the knife just fell out from the boy s
pocket and someone picked it up and stabbing the victim or someone else use the exactly same knife
to kill boy s father because it is a not possible coincidence. Other jurors don t accept an incredible
coincidence like this as well. After listening to Juror 4 s argument, however, Davis presents his own
argument, which is the coincidence is possible. But Juror 3 stands out and rejects Davis s argument
that he doesn t think it is possible. At this point, Davis shows other jurors a very similar knife just like
the boy s. Davis points out his evidence to confirm his argument is correct, which is it is possible that
someone stabbed a very similar knife and killed the father, because Davis bought this knife in a shop
that is two blocks from the boy s house. That shows if Davis does, anyone else could buy an exactly
same knife. After Davis explains his argument, even though majority of the jurors still are not
convinced by his argument, Juror 2 begins to question the murder weapon because he thinks this is an

Essay about Like Water For Chocolate by Laura Esquivel
Like Water For Chocolate The film, Like Water for Chocolate, represents a story through
incorporating the idea of food as feelings and expressing the woman s roles during the Mexican
Revolution. The film is a romantic comedy showing many joking ways of hard times and soft issues
and the way of life. The most striking and theme seems to be how women seem to be in charge rather
then males; during this time period, I thought that men were more likely to be the head of the
household and in charge.
Throughout the film, the main overall theme is that a woman had an illegitimate daughter with
someone while she was married, her husband left her, and she was alone with three girls and the
youngest, Tita, was to never marry because she was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To take light of the film there were many comical parts, that seemed unlikely considering the nature of
the film. When Tita cooked, her feelings came through in her food. She felt bad when her sister
married, so when she made her cake, everyone became sick. Rosura always had gas from what Tita
made to eat and bad breath. Tita received roses from Pedro, she made quail and rose petal soup to
show him her love and then everyone who ate it was having almost sexual feelings. It was ridiculous
to comprehend because everyone was feeling how she was though her food and no one gets like that
in real life.
Tita s sister Gertrudis, ran off with revolutionaries and her mother basically sinned her and made
everyone forget of her existence. She burned pictures, papers and her birth certificate to make it
official, she also told her two daughters to not have any contact with her. Gertrudis comes back later in
the film to show another comical part, she s now a general for the revolutionaries. She orders one of
the soldiers around, like a man, but yet she is a woman. This is putting another woman s role into a
different hand, because I ve never heard of any women being generals or anywhere high in the ranks.
None of her soldiers are female, she is the only one within the group, yet she is the general, if the
mother only knew! The mother dies in the film because of her stubborness. She doesn t like the

Group Communication And Group Analysis
Within the groups that I have been facilitating, as well as individual meetings, I have been very
mindful of my communication with those whom I have been interacting with. I am constantly working
to use open ended questions, being reflective and summarizing what I hear. The group topics that I
choose are on a multitude of subjects. When considering what groups to hold I take into consideration
the topic I feel they would benefit from, I speak with staff and get input from them as well as the
clients who participate in the groups. I follow the same routine with topics that I present to individuals
as well. I feel that the individuals as well as the groups will be more receptive and engaged when they
are interested in the topics. I personally

  • 2. Observation Of Parent Infant Interaction Observational study of parent infant interaction Infants are a special cohort of a population in the society. Children between the ages of five months to two years are at a stage where they start familiarizing with their surroundings and have different reactions to situations. The surrounding where an infant grows greatly determines his or her development. The primary determinant of the development of infants is the parent infant interaction (Crain, 2015). The first bond or relation of a child is with its biological parents or guardians in the case of orphaned children. In this paper, I will analyze the parent infant interaction of a family of four members comprising of father, mother and two daughters. The mother is a physician in the referral hospital. The mother is a hardworking woman who is obsessed with perfection. She is specialized in pediatrics hence aware of many developmental milestones in infants. The youngest daughter is one and a half years old whereas the firstborn daughter is four years old. For this assignment, an observation of the younger kid was done in the apartment where the family lives. According to the observation, the younger child is scared of strangers based on her reaction when carried by other people who are not part of the family. She cries a lot and seems scared of the unfamiliar faces. She is in particular resistant to the male individuals. She is slightly friendly to the females who carry her but remains calm. The reaction was prominent when one family visited during the observation. The friend was a bearded young man. His hair was frightening to the kid as she could cry loudly when being carried by him. The positive attitude towards the female was recognized after the wife of the visiting family carried the kid. The reaction can be related to the child s preference for gender. The behavior disturbs the mother as she thinks this might have a negative impact on her child s sexuality. She is worried that the kid even at her old age is more likely to have a preference for female individuals than male individuals. Furthermore, based on the observation, the kid is highly attracted to brightly colored patterns as opposed to dull or darker shades of colors. According to the mom, ... • 3. A Discussion Of The Old And New Testaments Essay Wisdom is generally understood as the right application of knowledge. Moreover, it is regarded as basic to a theological understanding of the twin concepts of Creation and Redemption, and this extends its relevance to both a discussion of the Old and New Testaments. In specific terms Wisdom is associated with Creation and with Redemption in both Testaments as an illustration of its importance in overall Salvation History. Wisdom is generally understood as the right use of knowledge. More than that, it is thought of as basic to a religious understanding of the twin ideas of Creation and Redemption, and thisextends its relevance to both a discussion of the Old and New Testaments. In clearly stated/particular terms Wisdom is related to Creation and with Redemption in both Testamentsas an illustration of its importance in overall (saving or protecting someone from sin or harm)History. While the dominant trend in Old Testament theology has been either to neglect wisdom literature or to consider it to be outside the mainstream of Israelite faith, some scholars have offered important insights into both the theology of the sages and how it relates to the larger biblical theology. We begin with the place of wisdom in several of the leading presentations of Old Testament Theology since the Second World War, and then move on to the different approaches to understanding the theology of the sages by contemporary wisdom scholars. • 4. Overcoming Adversity And Obstacles In The Circuit, By... Helen Keller once said, Although the world is full of suffering, it is also about overcoming it. Helen Keller faced a lot of adversity and obstacles in her life. But she got through it. Everyone faces obstacles in their lives, some more than others, but no ones life is just a sunny sea. I will be telling of four stories that are full of amazing people, who, against all odds powered through obstacles and kept going with their lives and competing their dreams against all odds. The Circuit To start off, I will be talking about the story, The Circuit (written by Francisco Jimenez) Panchito, a young kid who belongs to a family of migrant workers, struggles having to leave his homes everytime the harvest ends. This leads him to not having many friendships, missing school very often, and not always having the greatest sleeping quarters. The shed they were given at the new place wasn t great, but it was something, and they were grateful for it. When Panchitos parents finally agreed that he could go to school again, he was very happy. At this new school he met a amazing teacher willing to help him learn to speak better english and even to play the trumpet. But unfortunately, a few when he came home from school, he saw his family already packing to move ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the ways is shown in the narrative was when Panchito kept doing the hard labor in the fields everyday. He never once quit because it was too hard, or complained because he wanted to go to school. Many people in our society would complain and beg for a break, leaving other people to do the work. Following that, not only did panchito show remarkable characteristics, his family did as well. Once Panchitos mom found a landowner willing to take them in, she was so grateful. The shelter they were given was a garage with termite ridden walls and a dirt floor, but they didn t whine about the conditions, they swept up and were thankful for ... • 5. Reflection Paper On Wrestling One of the biggest goals I have in life to win a state championship in my favorite sport. That sport is wrestling. I have wrestled since I was young in the third grade. I was considered very overweight for my age. I sat at about ninety pounds as a 9 year old. My parents wanted me to start being physically active and to get in shape. I remember being in a buffalo wild wings and watching a wrestling match on the television and how cool I thought it was. I told my paresnts that wrestling was the sport i wanted to do. The coach was a short man from India and he had tons of experince from teaching wrestling back in his home country. He showed me all of the basics and I felt very proud as i mastered each technique. When the day of my first match came I was so nervous. My first match was called and I went out and lost pretty bad. My next match was called and I lost again and because I had lost two I was out. During the third grade I only won one match. When the fourth grade came around I didnt want to do wrestling anymore because I thought I would just lose again. • 6. William Chandler s Farewell My Lovely Detective fiction at its finest is displayed through the famous novel by Raymond Chandler called, Farewell My Lovely. Chandler published this novel in 1940 with every intention of giving his readers something dark and mysterious to dive into. Throughout the novel, the kind of protagonist that we naturally expect to encounter, is much more the opposite. The unconventional hero in this case would be the suggested protagonist names Philip Marlowe. He plays a cynical man who appears to not need any additional company but his own when solving the crimes committed around town. That is one of the most appealing features that caught my attention about Marlowe. He entertains the reader with his bravery and ambiguous heroism throughout the corrupt streets of L.A. Corruption, murder and this complicated character guiding us through the thick of these cases are the three key aspects that make Chandler s novels so appealing. The association that a reader has with an anti hero of a novel is very similar to a love hate relationship. We want to love him for the gritty, yet effective work, but for one who drinks as hard and heavy as Philip Marlowe does, its hard to keep their best interest at heart. Chandler isn t the only author who tries to make the reader root for the bad guy. A few classic examples of this would be our frequently discussed Detective Sherlock Holmes, and the recent TV series called Breaking Bad. Sherlock Holmes is a great example of an anti hero. As machines cannot think, they can be usedto do the wrong things or for mass destruction. The intuitive abilities that human possess, the way humans can judge based on their previous knowledge, the inherent abilities that they have, cannot be replicated by machines. Analyse and clearly identify the requirements of the system for this network in order to convince the management of the given case study company. There are many types of networks here are a few examples of them; WAN, LAN, MAN PAN. WAN (Wide Area Network) is a network which maybe computer or telecommunications network that extends in a large geographical distance, it interconnects a multiple of (LANs) Local Area Networks. The Advantages of a WAN are; WANs allow a great and more intricate network also can cover a near infinite geographical distance. WANs mainly occur in large environments, Connections are available from country to country, building to building etc. in other words the internet. The typical large size of a WAN is what separates it from a LAN, WANs are generally slower than LANs, the further the distance the slower the network. One of the biggest Disadvantages of WAN is the cost that it can come with, having a private WAN is often expensive. One of the main reason WANs are expensive is because of the technology used to expand on massive scales. Speaking on large scale, the larger the network the less speed which causes latency (Works, 2017). Here is a diagram of a wide area network: Figure 1: wide area network (NetPrivateer, 2013) LAN (Local Area Network) is a computer network that interconnects clients(computers) in limited space i.e. a ... Reflection Paper On Service Learning My service Learning Project I had the opportunity to volunteer with Health Sciences Charter High School which is a local school that academically challenges the learning environment preparing them to communicate effectively, think and reason critically, value diversity, in which is founded by local healthcare industry and strive for their students to become productive and valued members of the community. The school is located in a generally low income neighborhood and children in need on the East Side of Buffalo area. Health Science organizes afterschool programs, along with having programs that pushed their students beyond. Service learning is a lot more than helping someone for the sake of it, it is a process of involving yourself in community service activities engaging and learning while combined with facilitated means by being able to apply the experience to academic and personal development. A good service learning partnership is mutually beneficial, with both the learning goals of the course and the needs of the community partner being met. Being at Health Science charter school has taught me the importance of culturally relevant teachers along with role models students are able to talk to interact not just have taught them for six hours of a day. In 1607, a group of merchants, known as the Virginia Company, settled at Jamestown, Virginia on the Chesapeake Bay (Divine, 72); while Puritan leader John Winthrop, stationed himself and his followers at Massachusetts Bay in 1630. (Divine, 90) Although both settlements started off relatively the same, the greater success of one over the other has caused continuous debates between many, including the descendants of these early Americans. Some might argue that the Virginia Colony was more successful than the Massachusetts Bay Colony because of the Virginia colonists motivation and interest in profit (Divine, 76). The Virginia colonists on the other hand, were unable to achieve this sense of community, as a result of the high mortality rate in the colony. Many complications arose among the people because of this. For example, since the ratio between men and women was three to one, many spouses, especially women, often remarried with children after one of the spouses died. These situations created complex families, and hostility among its members (Divine, 81). However, because of the constant amount of fatalities in the colonies, immigrants were continuously sent, making them the large majority of the population (Divine, 84). This made creating a community in the Chesapeake Bay Colony almost impossible because of the uncertainty the people had about one another. And because this chain of events continued, the attempt of composing a society became a seemingly hopeless endeavor among colonists of Virginia. Within the colony of Massachusetts, religion played an important role in shaping the community s people and interests. The reason for the Puritans move to North America was to escape the convictions the Christians of England were placing on them (Divine, 89). When in regard to the tuberculosis vaccination, parents in the United States should vaccinate their children. Tuberculosis is a disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis that most commonly affects the lungs. The etiologic agent can be expelled from one infected person via a sneeze or a cough, and enter the air and then the body of another person, leading to another infected person ( Tuberculosis, 2012). According to What is TB? (n.d.), someone who has diagnosed tuberculosis but is not receiving any form of treatment can pass the disease to up to 15 people in on year. Treatment of TB is necessary, so if symptoms are ignored, an infected person could die. Prevalence of this disease is not as common in the United States as it is in other countries. Perception is multimodal, with multiple sensory inputs contributing to motor responses (Bertenthal 1996). In this paper, I will discuss the many differences between people with autism and the people without and how each person reacts to the same stimuli differently. I will focus on a teenage boy named Brandon, who has Autism, the parents have known that he had ASD since he was 16 months of age where they entered him into early intervention. Unfortunately, your idea of fine dining at home is Raman Noodles served in a bowl and not in the foam cup. Raman Noodles, even served in a bowl, will not impress any date. Now picture yourself sharing a warm, freshly crafted pizza. A pizza with fried chicken smothered with provolone cheese. A pizza with a pop of flavor provided by bell peppers. A pizza seamlessly put together with ranch dressing. This simple recipe for chicken ranch pizza will make you resistible to any date. To complete the following recipe, you will need one boneless chicken breast (an ideal size for the chicken breast is the size of your hand), soy sauce, lemon juice, a bell pepper, shredded provolone cheese, salt, Cayenne pepper, flour, olive oil, one large egg, and one frozen cheese pizza (preferably Di Giorno rising crust). First you need to prep the chicken breast. If your chicken breast is frozen, let your chicken breast thaw. To speed up the thawing process, you may use a microwave. However, set the microwave to defrost mode before thawing your chicken, which will prevent the chicken from drying out and will keep the chicken moist. Thaw the chicken, on defrost mode, for approximately five to six minutes. After thawing the chicken, take a sharp knife and make a horizontal cut across the middle of the breast. Always act carefully when working knives. Remember to keep the blade down and always cut away from yourself. Cut the chicken into long strips with roughly one quarter inch of thickness. Reducing the thickness of the breast will reduce the amount of time needed to cook the chicken fully. Now make a vertical cut every half inch to both strips of chicken. The chicken pieces should resemble the size and shape of your middle and ring finger combined. After cutting the chicken, wash hands thoroughly with warm water and soap. Always wash your hands after touching raw meat to prevent cross commination. Do not touch any other ingredient before washing your hands. Next you need to assemble the marinade for the chicken. Iago is a soldier in the Venetian army, who wanted the position of the lieutenant. When Othello, the Venetian army general, appoints Cassio to this position instead of Iago, he begins to portray a revengeful character with problematic actions. As time goes by, other countries gain conquests, mostly in western areas of Africa. This essay will go over a few key points in history that led to the Age of Imperialism and the British colonization of Southern Africa. The essay will also identify key players in this age. Southern Africa was known for its gold and other valuable items that made it so appealing to Europeans. This and many other reasons led to wars over the areas that had high gold content. Britain was also interested in areas known to be rich in minerals like the country of Transvaal, (David, 2011). Because of this plan to keep other countries out, by the late 1800 s Britain was in control of about 30% of Africa s population. Although the plan to abolish slavery, set down by the regulations put out by the Berlin conference, slavery still flourished in the Congo. A French missionary by the name of Cardinal Charles Lavigerie, exposes King Leopold as the sole profiteer of slave trade in the Congo, (David, 2011). So at a sermon in Paris at St. Sulpice in 1888, Lavigerie shocked the people with the horrible things King Leopold s men were subjecting the natives of Africa to (David, 2011). At this, Brussels Conference, King Leopold would agree to abolish Arab slave trade in return for the right to tax imports, (David, 2011). On the subject of African Resistance, conflicts between natives did not change during the invasion from outside nations. Those that were in conflict stayed in conflict. • 27. Myth Of The Aztecs A diminutive tribe called the Aztecs strolled around northwestern Mexico up until AD 1116. As claimed by one legend, the Aztec god of the sun and war, Huitzilopochtli, ordered their people to advance south until they found a new everlasting home. He said that their new home would be marked with a discernible indication. The sign was an eagle on a cactus with a snake in his mouth. It took the tribe more than a hundred years of searching. Finally, a priest found the sign in the Valley of Mexico. However, other people already lived there. They didn t want to allocate their domain with the Aztecs. Both Charlotte Perkins Gilman and William Faulkner wrote stories inspired by those nineteenth century social issues. While Gilman s story focuses on late nineteen century issues, Faulkner writes about a town stuck in early nineteenth century ideals. Before the Civil War, upper class women were held to the ideal of a southern belle . The New Encyclopedia of Southern Culture explains that because much of the ideals remained in the late century, the pre Civil War era women were strongly held to their class hierarchy (268). After the Civil War had ended, the South began to change rapidly. According to The New Encyclopedia of Southern Culture, the Civil War changed the class dynamics of the region (231). Although the story is set throughout the change of the south, many of the older townspeople are stuck treasuring old ideals and expectations. Emily is continuously held to these grand expectations and eventually falls into hysteria because of them. While the contexts of the issues are different, both of the main characters struggle with the expectations and ideals that are placed on them. Through the expectations and values of women in the nineteenth century, Gilman is able to portray the reason for the narrator s hysteria . It is clear from examining the philosophical thought and social trends during both the Qing and Ming dynasties that Confucian thought and ideology had a profound effect on Chinese society and moral values during that period. Confucian philosophy is an ethical and philosophical thinking system thought to have been developed from the teachings of Kong Fuzi, known as Confucius who lived between 551 478 BC in China. Although his works were written during the Song Dynasty, by the time of the Ming and Qing dynasty, they had been adopted as key text for the imperial examinations which meant that most of the educated men of that period would have a high of understanding of his thought. [11]One of Zhu Xi s most famous books was the book family rituals where he offered advice on many rituals including how to conduct weddings, funerals, family ceremonies, and the veneration of ancestors.[12] Zhu Xi was also known for implementing Buddhist thought into his philosophy. He argued for a Buddhist sense of high moral and also argued that one should engage in both academic and philosophical pursuits.[13] The other branch of neo Confucianism advocated by Wang Yang Ming was known as the school of mind which was founded by Ch eng Hao (1032 1085). [14] Although this school of thought also believed that the material world was built from a single immaterial principle, the difference was that this principle existed solely in the human mind. Wang Yang Ming believed that the principle of the universe is equivalent to the human mind and that the practice of humanity, referred to as jen unifies man with the universe. Wang Yang Ming expanded on this saying that innate knowledge can manifest the original mind that is equivalent to the universe.[15] The innate knowledge, in his opinion, represented the ... • 34. The Digestive Enzyme Amylase The digestive enzyme amylase was analysed in two different species of gastropod (the herbivorous Turbo smaragdus and the carnivorous Cominella adspersa), in order to assess whether diet influences digestive enzyme activity. This was determined by preparing a tissue homogenate from the digestive gland of each of the species and comparing their measured absorbance to that of a standard curve that reflected the relationship between absorbance and enzyme units. Amylase activity (in units of enzyme per gram) was significantly higher in the herbivorous species than in the carnivorous species, yet there was wide disparity in activity within the species indicating a degree of plasticity in the enzyme s activity. The difference between T. smaragdus and C. adspersa does, however, indicate that the activity of amylase follows a pattern influenced by diet in these species. Introduction Most animals possess digestive enzymes that allow them to digest the food they consume. There is, however, variation between species in the activity of individual enzymes (Chan, et al. 2004; Chakrabati, et al. 1995), and this can indicate feeding ecology in animals. For instance, Kuz mina (1996) found that certain digestive enzymes were correlated with diet composition: amylase activities were lowest in carnivorous species of fish and highest in herbivores. Hence, the physiological requirements to live as a carnivore or herbivore certainly differ between families. Not only is this effect apparent in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. The Cardiac Cycle Is Vital For Proper Cardiovascular... Task 1b The Cardiac Cycle The cardiac cycle is vital for proper cardiovascular system function. The cardiovascular system transports nutrients and waste to and from the cells of the body the heart (and subsequently the cardiac cycle) provides the power to this system. The cardiac cycle is the sequence of steps that are carried out when the heart beats. There are two main phases of the cardiac cycle; the diastolic phase and the systole phase. The diastole phase causes the heart to fill with blood and the systole phase moves the blood from the heart to the arteries. One cardiac cycle is completed when the heart fills with blood and then is pumped back out of the heart. The two main phases can be broken down into four steps. Key Definitions Atria: The heart is divided into four chambers that are connected by heart valves, the upper two heart chambers are called atria. Ventricles: The heart is divided into four chambers that are connected by heart valves, the lower two chambers of the heart are called ventricles. Atrioventricular valves: a valve between an atrium and ventricle of the heart. Vena cava: the two largest veins in the body, carry de oxygenated blood from various regions of the body to the right atrium of the heart. SA node: The sinoatrial node is a section of nodal tissue located in the upper wall of the right atrium. Sets the rate of contraction for the heart. • 36. Apple Vs. Fbi Case Apple vs. FBI In today s society, technology has become one of the most used and most sought after developments of the millennium. In a recent case the FBI petitioned for Apple to unlock the phone of Syed Farook, the man responsible for shooting and killing 14 people in San Bernardino, California. The FBI believed Apple should create a new software that would not erase the data from iPhones after ten failed attempts to unlock the phone. Apple replied that they had a responsibility and an obligation to protect the privacy of their customers. Supporters of Apple s response have argued, creating a new software was not a wise decision. In the past, government agencies have been known for their abuse of power. Had Apple chosen to create a master key for this particular case, there would be no limit to government invasion of privacy. In the end Apple could have potentially lost costumers by changing the protection of their cellular products. The issue has already been raised that creating software to access one locked device could potentially open the door for hackers to invade millions of other people s devices. I agree that Apple should not create a new software to unlock the phone because once a master lock is created there are no limitations to who or how the coding can be used. Although this case seems unique in matter the government has a history of invading the privacy of American companies and citizens. In 2013, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) filed a brief ... Juror 4 is an educated and logical man because all of his arguments are based on the facts and evidence. He also notices some details that other jurors ignored at the beginning. He illustrates that the murder weapon, which is an unusual carved handle and blade knife is a strong evidence that proves the boy is the suspect because the knife is so unique and the shop owner also confirms that the knife the boy has is the only one in stock. And it is not possible that the knife just fell out from the boy s pocket and someone picked it up and stabbing the victim or someone else use the exactly same knife to kill boy s father because it is a not possible coincidence. Other jurors don t accept an incredible coincidence like this as well. After listening to Juror 4 s argument, however, Davis presents his own argument, which is the coincidence is possible. But Juror 3 stands out and rejects Davis s argument that he doesn t think it is possible. At this point, Davis shows other jurors a very similar knife just like the boy s. Davis points out his evidence to confirm his argument is correct, which is it is possible that someone stabbed a very similar knife and killed the father, because Davis bought this knife in a shop that is two blocks from the boy s house. That shows if Davis does, anyone else could buy an exactly same knife. After Davis explains his argument, even though majority of the jurors still are not convinced by his argument, Juror 2 begins to question the murder weapon because he thinks this is an interesting point to consider about and Juror 11 says the knife was important to the district attorney, which shows that Davis s argument attracted some ... The film is a romantic comedy showing many joking ways of hard times and soft issues and the way of life. The most striking and theme seems to be how women seem to be in charge rather then males; during this time period, I thought that men were more likely to be the head of the household and in charge. Tita received roses from Pedro, she made quail and rose petal soup to show him her love and then everyone who ate it was having almost sexual feelings.
