Introduction
 Social,Mobile,Analytics and Cloud are individual
technologies and platforms which have risen
during the past few years and have shown
immense growth.
 Social technologies allow for rapid sharing of
information over social networks which enhances
collaboration and information distribution in a
business.
 Social media allows companies to give a good
exposure of their product to the audience.
 Mobile technologies allows people to connect
from anywhere in the world.
 The development of smart phones also made
mobile Internet connection more easier.
Introduction
 Since large amount of data is generated everyday, it is
important to perform data analysis of such a huge data.
For instance, when you monitor a website of a
company, it is important to perform visitor counts and
visit durations so that you can make changes to get
better results.
 Cloud computing is delivery of computing services over
Internet which allows individuals to use computing
resources online.
 The main advantage of cloud is cost as one need not
purchase hardware or software licences.
 Thus Social,Mobile,Analytics and cloud technologies are
integrated to form SMAC(Social,Mobile,Analysis and
Cloud).
Trends
 Ello, an ad-free social networking service and it promises
not to sell user’s information to third parties. It is likely to
grow in 2015 with increased customers.
 In the late stages of 2014, Facebook surpassed youtube
for the amount of video views.
 Every home appliances like refrigerators and bathroom
scales collect data and send it wirelessly to Internet
which are routed as a notification to mobile phones.
 With the development of mobile internet banking,
customers will tend to purchase and pay even a low
price daily use product via mobile. Eg Starbucks mobile
payment.
Trends
 High precision location sensing combined with mobile
apps.
 Personal Cloud computing will be the upcoming trend
in the forthcoming years. Examples are DropBox and
Google Drive.
 Alternatives to traditional databases called NoSQL are
gaining popularity which allows a faster way of
identifying the relationship between the customers
rather than a traditional relational database
Interest Areas
 My area of interest is in the field of data analytics. I have
interest in the field of data mining which is finding
relevant information from a large collection of data.
 If given internship in this area, I would like to build
recommendation systems which enables better
marketing of the product by analyzing customer’s
interests on the product.

  • 6. Interest Areas  My area of interest is in the field of data analytics. I have interest in the field of data mining which is finding relevant information from a large collection of data.  If given internship in this area, I would like to build recommendation systems which enables better marketing of the product by analyzing customer’s interests on the product.
