In this presentation, Archit introduces SMAC and associated trends. Archit wants to solve the problem of decision making through visualizing data in easy to read graph structures.
2. Introduction
SMAC is a digital strategy to remain in the competition with
other companies while simultaneously preparing for the upcoming
business challenges.
Social Networking brings customer together to share data
about products/services. Cloud platforms provides backbone to
required elasticity & scalability of customer’s social data about
products/services. Analytic bring this social data in cloud to life by
analyzing & correlating it to develop insights into customer behavior
about product/services. Mobile brings these data insights to life by
delivering personalized products/services into customer’s
environment.
3. Trends
• The consumerisation of IT in the workplace has evolved. Consumer
technology products are so ubiquitous and advanced in people’s personal
lives that employees now expect the same innovative quality and ease of
use with enterprise technology at work. Without integrated devices and
social technologies, it will be difficult for businesses to encourage
organization-wide collaboration and efficiency should legacy tools be
retained.
• Disruption and innovation as caused by the adoption of digital technologies
have propelled some companies to meteoric success while contributing to
the demise of others. Even companies once viewed as innovative have often
failed to respond to disruption in the market, hanging on to legacy business
models and outdated systems. The cycles of innovation are occurring faster
and faster. The ability of a company to keep up with these changes will
determine how business contends with the challenges of tomorrow. Digital
transformation through SMAC gives businesses an advantage over the
competition in winning the battle for the future.
4. Interest Areas
• My interest areas would be analytics and cloud computing.
• There can be absurd amounts of options to choose from when
a decision is to be made. Situation could be as simple as
choosing a dish from a long listed menu in a restaurant to
purchasing property. A simple graph of the situation would
systemize the choices and the pros-cons can be clearly
decided then. So a graph generator or a gigantic collection of
similar graphs from society itself might bring a huge impact on
making a decision. My interest would be to work on a project
something similar to this.
