INTRODUCTION
SMAC is acronym of Social, Mobile, Analytics and Cloud. It is a combination
of Social, Mobile, Analytics and Cloud is shown in below figure.
Social links people to their
friends, work and each
other in new and
unexpected ways.
Contd…
Mobile devices are
a platform for
effective social
networking and
new ways to work.
Analytics(Big Data) helps
gain meaningful insights
from the information ,
facilitating informed
decision making.
Cloud enables delivery of
information and functionally to
users and systems.
TRENDS
The current trends of SMAC are as follows:-
 Social Media related technologies allow for the rapid sharing and creation
of information over social networks, which improves collaboration and
information dissemination across a business.
 Mobile technologies are continuing to evolve, redesigning the technology
road-map. The advance in smart devices is bringing about a period of
universal connectivity. Users are now able to get information anywhere at
any time and with ease.
 Analytics boost supply chains, enable closed-loop marketing, and elevate
existing customer relationship management processes. The underlying data
processing power of Data analytics allows companies to analyze new forms
of data in the cloud, which generates unprecedented insight scalable to
enable smart decision making in real time.
 Cloud technology is the prerequisite of the SMAC stack and it is quickly
becoming the new foundation of the IT ecosystem. Cloud computing gives
businesses a newfound nimbleness, breaking down the barriers of
geography and reducing the costs associated with physical IT infrastructure
maintenance.
Contd…
The impact of SMAC in next five years are as follows:-
 The main impact of SMAC on organizations, in order to effectively run their
businesses, traditionally have been using many enterprise applications like
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Project Management, Business
Intelligence (BI Tools), etc.
 It will become the new basis of competition, helping organizations build
new business and operating models.
 Mobile banking will be emerge as one of the most innovative products in
the financial services industry.
 Nearly 90 percent of top global banks use social networking to achieve
customer engagement.
 As more and more smart phones, tablets and other devices find their way
into the hands of employees, the demand to use them at work will intensify.
This trend will only accelerate in the years to come, and more and more
enterprises are adopting a formal ‘Bring Your Own Device’ (BYOD) policy.

INTEREST AREAS
 I have chosen SMAC topic because that every one require the four pillars
i.e. Social, Mobile, Analytics and Cloud. My area of interest in this topic is
Analytics, in this how can we gain small information from big data. The
need to derive predictive and actionable insights from this data for improved
business operations and better decision making is what drives Big Data
analytics.
 My idea behind the Analytics(gain information) based on three
characteristics such as Volume means which data is specific or general and
which is public or private, Velocity that how fast data move, and Variety
that what kind of information is required such as news, videos, emails and
audios etc.
 Learn during Internship: If I’ll get a chance of internship, I’ll explore and
learn the topic SMAC stack. Design and develop the feature of this topic in
details that how to work in real life. I’ll explore Analytics topic in deep
because everyone wants how to get their information in a single second and
I will find out the simplest way to find the best solution.
