Staples was founded by two gentlemen, Tom Stemberg and Leo Kahn that were ready to start a new
business adventure in the office supply industry. Both men had worked in the retail industry, and was
open to building a company with a design twist of Toys R Us , which would be a business model
structure into an office chain supply company that would service smaller business owner. According to
Alan (2009) the business idea was created by Tom Stemberg from the concept being able to supply
consumer with office supply at the best price. Due to financial situations Mr. Stemberg incorporate a
business partner by the name of Leo Kahn that could supplied the company with the started up funds
of $500,000,which, is a remarkable investment being that the company due more than $11.6 billion in
sale (Alan, 2009). Staples was created to supply small business with office products that would be
offered at smaller quality merchandised, lowest cost, and this is a new avenue that no other company
have marketed, or expanding upon the industry of being profitable. There are no other businesses to
leverage a business model of to ensure the vision of Mr. Stemberg would positive to work and be
profitable. Also, having the ability to advocate for change in the way other business was operating,
increase the awareness of the benefits of sale of small quality, branding the company, marketing the
opportunity, as well as ensuring the consumer that the new office supply product would be beneficial

Why Are We Illegalize Drugs
In 2009 alone, the United States Customs and Border Protection seized 135,943 pounds of cocaine,
2,015 pounds of heroin, 4,330,475 pounds of marijuana and 6,135 pounds of methamphetamines. That
is all the drugs that were intercepted; there are much more that get through the borders into the United
States. Although the amount of marijuana is large, the United States is the largest consumer of cocaine
which is illegally transported from Colombia through Mexico and the Caribbean. The illegal
trafficking of drugs into the United States has causes many problems such as turf wars, gun wars,
police conflict and civilian retaliation. In Florida, twenty six people were indicted during a gang turf
war and illicit drug dealing that resulted in the death ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Upon examining the incident, the Mexican and United States government came to the conclusion that
the gun men sought out the couple to steal their truck. Many people see this act as an escalation of
violence; killing a couple just to take their car. A sheriff in Texas, whose jurisdiction is on the other
side of the Rio Grande from Mexico, sees that the borders are not are not authoritative. He states that,
The feds say our side of the border is safe, but we have bullet holes in our schools and businesses that
say otherwise (Gonzalez). What does it take to stop them? Jimmy Mendoza, who has worked on
Gonzalez s police force stated, Our weapons are like squirt guns against their big guns and they want
to own our turf (Mendoza). Stopping them is a matter of life and death for our citizens, we need to
keep our citizens safe by stopping them by any means possible. These effects of illegal trafficking of
drugs have negatively affected those who are surrounded by it. The government should increase
military spending in certain areas of the budget to defend its country against illegal drug traffickers

First Vatican Council Research Paper
Pope Pius IX called the First Vatican Council in 1868. It was the Roman Catholic Church s twentieth
ecumenical council. It was held in the Vatican City. The purpose of this council was to attend to issues
such as secularism, rationalism, and materialism. This council explored the principle of papal
infallibility as well.
The political environment surrounding The First Vatican Council was chaotic, due to the unification of
Italy and Franco Prussian War. Led by the kingdom of Prussia, the Franco Prussian War was a conflict,
between the Second French Empire and Prussia which had supremacy over much of Germany. French
troops abandoned their defence of the Papal States after suffering a heavy loss to the Prussians. Italian
patriots were then able to seize the Papal States and Rome and unify all of Italy. Pope Pius IX then lost
all his global authority, disband the council, and locked himself in the walls of the Vatican. ... Show

An uprising of secularization, rationalism, and materialism in the late seventeenth and eighteenth
century, was a period known as the Enlightenment. Philosophers believed that religion had no place in
science, society, or government. Rationalism and secularism were still standing against faith, as people
believed the truths of Christian faith to be opponents of the advancement of humans. Materialism was
also still influencing many due to its growing emphasis on the matter of the world, rather than the
spirit of the world. Monarchs were even being persuaded into thinking that the Enlightenment was
what the Church needed, and to keep the Church in low

Toward The Metrication Of The United States
Toward the Metrication of the United States The United States was founded on the ideologies of
originality and independence from extraneous authority. To many, America is more than just a country,
it is the land of the free and is a light in the darkness from the rest of the world. This inspiration has
served Americans well throughout the past, but provides a reason to be reluctant to try successful ideas
from foreign countries. The reluctance of accepting the metric system is the prominent example of the
country s stubbornness to change its views. The switch to the metric system in the United States is
more than just a proposal to be pushed aside, it is a necessity to survive in the changing market.

In all cases, the increase of ten to the power of three causes the prefix to become kilo . This
simplification increases efficiency and allows for much easier calculations.
History of the metric system. In order for the younger generation to push for the switch to the metric
system in the United States, they must have some background knowledge on how the metric system
came about. According to the U.S. Metric Association, the founding father of the metric system is
Gabriel Mouton of France. He first thought of a system of measurements based on decimals in 1670.
The system was first based on a nautical mile and also the length of a pendulum needed to swing at
one swing per second. During the years following 1670, numerous French scientists edited and made
improvements to the system. The metric system then became the official units of weights and
measurements in France on April 7, 1795 (Origin of the Metric System). When France decided to
adopt the metric system, this served as a catalyst for the adoption in the rest of the world. After France
became the first country to adopt these measurements, other countries started to notice that the metric
system was well suited for science and industrialization, so they decided to adopt the measurements as
well. To no surprise, the change caught on quickly. According to the U.S. Metric association, By 1900

The Effect Of Concentration On Rate Of Reaction With...
How does changing the concentration of Hydrochloric acid affect its rate of reaction with Sodium
Thiosulphate?
Introduction/aim the aim of this experiment is to see how changing the concentration of hydrochloric
acid would change its rate of reaction with Sodium Thiosulphate. This was done by changing the
concentration of Hydrochloric acid to 4 different concentrations and adding them to the same amount
of sodium thiosulphate. This is done in different beakers that will previously be placed over a piece of
paper marked with an x. Once the reaction fully takes place, the x would no longer be visible therefore
the time it takes for the x to no longer be visible is our dependent variable.
Hypothesis the hypothesis is that as the concentration is increased, the rate of reaction will increase,
but the time will decrease. This is because if the concentration is higher, there will be more of the
sodium thiosulphate, therefore the reaction will take less time as the two mixtures will collide at a
higher frequency. The trend in the graphs that will be later plotted will not be directly proportional.
Graph 1 ( concentration vs time ) has a negative correlation and graph 2 ( concentration vs rate ) has a
positive correlation. This is because as the concentration is increased the time will decrease, that s why
graph 1 will have a negative correlation. Graph 2 will have a positive correlation as rate will be
1/time, therefore the graph flips. Neither of the graphs will be directly

Landscaping System
Very few home owners understand how a heating or cooling system work to provide a comfortable
environment. Most home owners probably do not even care, until the system loses its effectiveness or
fails completely. Depending upon the problem, the cost can be as little as $30 or as much as several
thousand dollars. There is little an individual can do to help maintain an air conditioner system.
Almost all of the possible fixes a home owner can perform themselves will just cost a few dollars.
Theses fixes, however, fall under maintaining rather than outright repair. The few tasks involved are
filter changes, visually inspection of the outside compressor unit, and proper landscaping. Regular

one does not necessarily need to be a HVAC technician to recognize a problem. The first attribute to
examine are the fins. The fins are thin metal flat strips resembling fine ridges. The purpose of these
fins are to dissipate heat, much like the radiator does in a car. Should the fins be bent or flattened,
airflow through the fins is restricted which in turn will prevent proper and effective heating and
cooling of a home or business. Many home improvement stores sell fin combs which are used to

a professional technician should be called to inspect the unit. A second visual inspection should be
made regarding the placement and the way the compressor is mounted on the pad. If the unit is not in
a level position, problems can occur. Should the outside unit shift, tubing connections can be damaged
which may allow leakage of the refrigerant. Should this take place, the leak may or may not be
noticeable immediately. Placement of this unit should be above any dips in the ground slope. If the

The Smallest Dragonboy Essay
Everyone knows that one cannot succeed at everything in life. But for one to not be good enough at a
major one has to try it out first. At some point everyone has tried a new hobby as for an example
dance and then been either told that one was not good enough or simply one found out by them selves.
Either way it is insulting and disappointing to be told that the way you are build is no good for the one
thing you love to do. But would we not be living in a boring world if everyone were the same? Our
difference defines us as an individual person our one person. Some of us are tall and some of us are
tiny. But no matter what should everyone be treated with respect even if they are different from others.

Fetus Brain Development
Due to modern medicine, there are many ways that pregnant women can now see how their fetus is
growing inside them. The woman s egg travels down the fallopian tube entering the uterus. It is
fertilized by the sperm and its home for the next nine months. There is a long process before the baby
arrives into the mother s arms. This is the beginning of conception and the development of the baby.
The first trimester begins with the conception that leads to the sperm reaching to the egg within a day.
The fertilized egg is to await in the uterus wall where the placenta also starts to form. Web MD states

brain development will increase throughout the last weeks as the baby will be able to dream.

weeks after you have conceived, many women do not have an exact date of conception, so it is
probably nota late delivery for the baby. The birth process after the last trimester is waiting for your

Outline for Informative Speech on Galveston Hurricane of 1900
Attention getter: How many of you feel safe in your homes or know that if a natural disaster struck
you would be able to make it out alive?
Audience Relevance: Due in large part to the early warning systems we have in place today, we can
avoid the vast majority of natural disasters in a way that previous generations could not.
C.Speaker Credibility: As a resident of Houston, Texas, I grew up hearing the tales of some of the
major Hurricanes that had zeroed in on our coastal region and left it in shambles. In 2008, Hurricane
Ike, one of the most destructive hurricanes in Texas history, knocked out power to over 2.6 million
people. The storm caused a 14 foot surge and over 18 inches of rainfall. Before the day was over Ike

first line of defense against any major meteorological events.
2. The book, Isaac s Storm: A Man, A Time, and the Deadliest Hurricane in History by Erik Larson,
details not only the harrowing tales of Isaac and other Galveston residents who weathered the storm,
but delves further into the issues that left Galveston unprepared that late Summer s day.
3. At the turn of the twentieth century, Americans were especially confident in their technology and
mastery over the natural world, that many felt that inclement and dangerous weather could be
predicted so accurately that there was no need to fear. These attitudes in combination with a series of
political problems within the Weather Bureau led to the ignoring of warnings from Cuban
meteorologists regarding the storm. In an effort not to cause panic, no warning was given to Galveston
residents of the storm until it was too late. The lack of warning combined with Galveston s misfortune
of being very near the eye of the hurricane and being hit by the storm at a 90° angel, left the city
vulnerable to the storm s full force.
Transition: A combination of pride and ignorance would lead to the loss of more than 6,000 lives and
left 8,000 homeless.
Main Point #2: Regardless of the late warning that the citizens of Galveston received the main
problem lay in how the city was

first farmers, as well as the originators of many of the innovations of the agricultural revolution. The
first being the continual pattern throughout history of women s role in society, and the second being
the presence of current horticulture societies in the world today. From the very beginning women have
always played the role of the forager or in some way have been involved with plants and horticulture
while the men are either off hunting or providing care to large groups of herd animals. As Ehrenberg
points out, Women are mainly concerned with gathering plant food, which provides the bulk of the

The Overall Purpose Of This Brief Paper Is To Characterize
The overall purpose of this brief paper is to characterize the main concepts, main techniques, and any
current research that supports contextual therapy in relation to contextual theory. While the purpose of
this exercise was to demonstrate knowledge of counseling theories not addressed in class sessions,
contextual therapy (which has also been referred to as contextual family therapy in prior literature) is
not per se a theory as much as it is a method of therapy based on Ivan Boszormenyi Nagy s contextual
theory. In his determination that there is more to understanding an individual s challenges in relation
to others, Boszormenyi Nagy designed contextual therapy to draw attention to his empirically based
findings from over 40 years of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Excluding such information could lead to misrepresenting the factors by which the client experiences
the world and bankrupt the influence of culture on development. Boszormenyi Nagy stretches facts to
include those details about world views that are a product of our own created reality that is culminated
by choice and agency. While a child certainly does not have a choice into what family they are born
into, the parents do have a choice into how they will interact with each other around that child, such
that, inconsistencies or neglect of that healthy relationship could create for the child a fact that
unhealthy conflict is normal or that they must choose sides of affection (Goldenthal, 2005). Since
there is an underlying foundation of psychotherapy present, contextual therapy accounts for facts that
may be present that the client may not be able to bring to their conscience or that they may be
unwilling to acknowledge that were out of their control, but nevertheless, still occurred (Ruzgyte,
2011).
Psychology. The functioning of the person within was also heavily regarded by Boszormenyi Nagy,
such that his reflections from psychoanalytical theories would illuminate the need to connect the parts
of the individual psyche: cognitive abilities; emotional functioning; instinctual drives; internal
conflicts; moral and intellectual development; and concepts of object relations theory with the other

Clear Lake Dental Care
People don t usually think of the dentist as the health care professional to see for chronic headaches
and migraines. Yet dentists are often instrumental in diagnosing and treating many cases of recurring
headaches. This is because a number of recurring pains in the head, neck, jaw, and face are caused by
conditions in the mouth and the rest of the craniofacial area. For example, recurring pain in the
temples on the sides of the head are usually caused by teeth grinding or clenching. In some cases,
misalignment in the teeth or jaw area can put pressure in the temporomandibular joint (TMJ, also
called the jaw joint) and lead to pain. If you experience frequent migraines and headaches, head and
neck pain, and popping or clicking sounds when you open or close your mouth, consult your dentist in

Employers should not discriminate anyone who tries for the job. In this case, the veteran wants to

Vietnam conflict experiences, employers most likely would not promote him. However, under the
Americans with Disabilities Act, employers are not allowed to discriminate anyone based on a

The Failure of the Great Leap Forward
The Great Leap Forward was Mao s new economic plan, which took place in China in 1958. The idea
of the Great Leap Forward was the rapid growth of agricultural and industrial production. It focused
on improving the productivity of all Chinese workers by investing in human development and labour

economic and technical development in great leaps rather than at a gradual pace. By using China s

Government spending on heavy industry grew in 1958 to represent 56 percent of state capital
investment, an increase from 38 percent in 1956. The backyard steel production plan resulted in entire
forests being burned to fuel the smelters that melt metal 24 hours a day, which left the land open to
erosion. Dense cropping and deep ploughing stripped the farmland and left if vulnerable as well.
When the autumn of 1958 came, many areas had a bumper crop because the soil was not yet
exhausted. This played a role in crop failures and eventually famine. With so much emphasis on steel
output as well as on development of other small industries and building projects, people were pulled
away from agriculture. Local leaders competed with one another to see who could create the most
activity. In the rush to recruit labor, agricultural tasks were neglected, sometimes leaving the grain
harvest to rot in the fields. Crop production began to falter. But Mao was adamant about increasing
agricultural output, and communes were expected to meet high quotas or face punishment. In the
frenzy of the competition, the CCP officers and many peasants exaggerated their harvests to their
superiors in Beijing. There were claims that gigantic vegetables cabbages, cucumbers, tomatoes, and
millions of pounds of potatoes and huge volumes of grain had been produced. Because of the falsely
exaggerated harvest, much of the grain was diverted from rural to urban areas. It was kept in storage

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
For this paper I have chosen obsessive compulsive disorder. According to psychologytoday.com,
(2017), Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) is an anxiety disorder in which people have unwanted
and repeated thoughts, feelings, images, and sensations (obsessions) and engage in behaviors or
mental acts in response to these thoughts or obsessions. This topic is one that I find very fascinating,
because half of the population may not realize they are suffering from this disorder, including myself.

Creon In Sophocles Oedipus The King
Oedipus the King is a play that was written by Sophocles around 430 B.C and was performed during
the decline of Athens, shortly after a plague took its course (Kirszner 1466). A main character in this
play is Creon who is portrayed as honest, up front, and even tempered. Creon is the brother of Oedipus
s wife and practically has all the status of a king, without the stress of ruling. This essay is a character
analysis of Creon and how his attributes make him a great ruler. One of Creon s greatest attributes is
his reasonable nature. This quality that is portrayed through his speech is shown during his encounter
with Oedipus where he is accused of conspiracy. He calmly explains to Oedipus that he does not want
the anxieties of being king to untroubled sleep if he has equal power (Sophocles 590 591). Here Creon

Creon keeps his even temper when Oedipus does not. The first occasion in which Creon proves that he
is the voice of reason is when he suggests that he and Oedipus discuss what he had heard from the god
(91 92). He tries to subtly convince Oedipus that they resume the conversation indoors but Oedipus
wants to discuss it out in the public. This public occurrence proves that Creon tries not to expose
information randomly to the public and would rather discuss issues privately. Another part of the play
where Creon shows that he is calm and reasonable is when he coolly revokes any accusations that
Oedipus puts forth and remains calm while Oedipus is throwing false claims at him. When Oedipus
proclaims out loud to Creon that he is the traitor and traitors should be punished, he refutes the
statement by agreeing with it. Creon states that what Oedipus is saying is perfectly just (558 59) but
entirely wrong. He reasons with Oedipus by putting forth the fact that he has equivalent status to a
king and it would make no sense to try to steal the crown or commit a

Carolina Panthers Contract Analysis
The Carolina Panthers are set to offer 2012 ninth overall pick middle linebacker Luke Kuechly a
contract extension this year, according to ESPN. Kuechly is currently entering the final year of his
four year, $12.5 million rookie deal with the Panthers, which would earn him $2.1 million next
season. Carolina is exercising a fifth year option in the 24 year old s contract, but the team is said to be
looking to give him a long term deal before the new season starts in September. The 6 foot 3, 235
pound defender is considered by NFL analysts as one of the best inside linebackers in the league right
now. His statistics have so far been nothing but impressive for head coach Ron Rivera s squad. The
former Boston College standout led the NFL in tackles during two of his three season with the team

Gender Stereotypes In Nowlan s The Fall Of A City
Gender stereotypes in Nowlan s The Fall of a City Why is it that girls can wear pants, but boys cannot
wear dresses? Why can girls play with trucks, but boys cannot play with dolls? Why has society
restricted girl like behavior for boys?
In The Fall of a City, Teddy, the protagonist faces similar challenges. The Fall of a City is a fictitious
short story written by Alden Nowlan. A young boy creates a miniature city out of paper and cardboard
and uses his vivid imagination to escape reality. Unfortunately, conflicts and characterization teaches
Teddy that in order to be socially accepted in the adult world, he must abandon his innocent, child like
ways and succumb to gender stereotypes.
First of all, Teddy learns to succumb ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, Teddy goes to the attic and sees that the city was as he had left it. Yet everything had
changed. Always before when he had come here, his flesh had tingled, his eyes had shone with
excitement. Now there was only a taste like that of a spoilt nutmeg (Nowlan 3). After Teddy s talk
with his uncle, his innocent love of playing with Theodoresburg has been ruined. Teddy sees the city
in a new perspective, knowing that adults believe that he is playing with paper dolls and dollhouses.
This reveals that Teddy is weak when it comes to his uncle, as he gives in to his torment. Once
humiliated by his uncle, Teddy is easily influenced by the idea of him exhibiting girl like behavior. In
addition, Teddy easily succumbs to gender stereotypes and lets his uncle ruin his love of playing with
the city. Another example is when Teddy [...] bent and seized the cardboard palace. Gritting his teeth
and grunting, he tore at its walls. The corrugated board was sturdy: he was crying by the time he
finished tearing it to shreds (Nowlan 4). In other words, Teddy destroys his fort and since he was
crying, it is evident that he was not happy about doing so. This also reveals that Teddy is very
sensitive and that his uncle s put downs really hurt him. Teddy s uncle went on about how Teddy is
acting like a girl by playing with dolls and dollhouses. He laughs at him and tells him that he

Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus And Mellitus
Introduction:
Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus is a disease that occurs when insulin producing beta cells of the pancreas are
damaged or are being destroyed (Mahan, Escott Stump Raymond, 2012). The gradual destruction of
the beta cells of the pancreas usually leads to complete insulin deficiency, which ultimately manifests
itself in the following symptoms at clinical onset: high blood glucose (hyperglycemia), frequent
urination (polyuria), excessive thirst (polydipsia), and a significant amount of weight loss,
dehydration, electrolyte disturbances and ketoacidosis , requiring dependency of exogenous insulin in
order to promote optimal glycemic control in order to prevent further more severe complications; such
as, ketoacidosis, microvascular diseases, macrovascular diseases, neuropathy, or worse Death (Mahan
et al., 2012). Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus can result from two existing forms: 1. Immune mediated
diabetes Mellitus, which is characterized by autoimmune destruction of the beta cells of the pancreas
and an idiopathic (unknown cause) commonly seen in ethnic groups of African or Asian descent
(Mahan et al., 2012). Of all diagnosed diabetes cases, prevalence of Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus cases
account for 5% 10%, and although onset may present itself at any age, 70% of cases are diagnosed in
young adults (younger than age 30), with a peak in occurring incidences seen mostly in children and
adolescents (Mahan et al., 2012). In the United States, approximately 1 in every 400

Through the novel you clearly notice how cooking and religion played a big role in the character s
everyday lives.
Deep down South, religion is the core to their societies livelihood. Like the characters in Fried Green
Tomatoes, Flagg grew up in a religious Christian based household. Within the novel, religion played a
part in their daily lives through weekly bible group meetings (Flagg 70). The importance of the
characters faith is also demonstrated through the way the Threadgoode s father parented, Momma said
the only reason Poppa didn t give them a spanking is because that preacher was a Baptist. But it never
caused a serious rift, because after church we d all meet back home for our Sunday dinner (23). Along
with religion, southern foods and the feeding of everyone also played a huge factor in the novel.
Characters would get excited over being feed traditional southern food (341). Though living in the
south was a potent part of the novel, Flagg s losses throughout her lifetime impacted Fried Green
Tomatoes greatly.
In regard to the dispirited sense of the novel, Fannie Flagg circles around a story of a depressed
middle aged women, and stories of her own hometown in Whistle Stop Alabama. Throughout, Flagg
often references to her childhood losses and how she overcame these tough times. This relates to how
Fannie Flagg lost both of her parents at a young age.

The Pardoner, a Symbol of Greed in Geoffrey Chaucer’s...
Geoffrey Chaucer s famous medieval classic, The Canterbury Tales, offers its readers a vast array of
characters. This God s plenty features numerous unique and challenging individuals, but there is one
specifically who stands out as particularly interesting. The immoral Pardoner, who, in a sense, sells
away his soul for the sake of his own avarice, puzzles many modern readers with his strange logic.
Already having laid his considerable guilt upon the table, this corrupted agent of the Church attempts
to pawn off his counterfeit relics for a generous price. His actions are slightly troubling and
mysterious, but his shameless misdeed is easily explainable if a reader chooses to interpret the man as
a symbol rather than a fully formed human ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A dishonest clergyman could easily prey on the insecurities of the population in order to profit from
the sale of false relics. The Pardoner, similarly, is only fixed on what [he stands] to win (PP 75).
Perhaps this suggests that the corrupted character has little else on his mind, wishing only to cheat the
devout and turn a greedy profit; he thinks of nothing but of his personal gain. He won t do any labor
with [his] hands, but his greedy heart intends to live the life of the most well to do (PP 114). The
Pardoner s sermons, preaching the ills of avarice, condemn the sin of which he is guiltiest. Radix
malorum est cupiditas, is the general theme of the Pardoner s sermons, meaning that greed is the root
of all evil (PP 6). In essence, evil is born from the foolishness of greed, and playing the part of Greed,
the Pardoner is a fool. His sermon drips with the revelation of his own guilt, for he can think of little
else other than his next financial gain, and so, he thoughtlessly speaks of his own wicked guilt. Then,
oddly, the Pardoner has the audacity to pitch a sale, offering forgiveness for pennies, silver brooches,
spoons, or rings (PT 424). He is incapable of doing otherwise. After all, the Pardoner is the symbol
and purest form of guilt; his avarice is too great a temptation to steer him from making his eloquent
sales pitch to the traveling pilgrims. It is inevitable

Comparing Oberon And Titania In A Midsummer Night s Dream
In Shakespeare s A Midsummer Night s Dream, the lovely young Indian boy never speaks, but he is an
essential character (2.1. 22). The Indian boy makes the fight between Oberon and Titania go further,
yet he ultimately resolves their conflict as well. The story of the Indian boy is told from two different
sides, Puck s and Titania s. One could argue many different reasons as to why Oberon desires the
Indian boy, but the answer is unclear. Is Oberon s desire to have the Indian boy out of Titania s
possession, motivated by Oberon s need for all of Titania s affection?
Titania tells Oberon, And this same progeny of evils comes from our debate, from our dissension; we
are their parents and original (2.1. 115 117). She s telling Oberon that their fight over the Indian boy
has caused chaos to the natural world. Oberon responds by telling Titania it s up to her to end their
fight. Oberon feels a sense of entitlement over Titania. He sees no reason as to why Titania [should]

She tells Oberon the reason she s kept the boy is because of her loyalty to the boy s mother. She
explains that the boy s mother was a votress of [her] order (2.1. 123). The close relationship Titania
and the Indian boy s mother shared is the second reason Oberon is jealous of the boy being under
Titania s possession. Titania has no boundaries when it comes to love. She loved Bottom as an ass,
Oberon as a king, and a young Indian boy because of the connection she had to his mother. The boy is
Titania s link to the mortal world and a threat to Oberon. In order for Oberon to receive all of Titania s
love, he has to get rid of the Indian boy. It s clear Titania is attracted to the boy and he acts as a living

Warren Harding Errors Chapter 3 Summary
In Chapter Three, The Warren Harding Error, Gladwell focuses on what he calls the dark side of thin
slicing the way that our unconscious minds tend toward Gladwell by arguing why our minds
subconscious automatically assumes things based of stereotypes using the art of persuasion.
Throughout this book you constantly hear of the idea of how we make snap judgements of everything
and everyone and how we can be more aware of it in our lives. It also explains the good and bad side
of thin slicing. (AKA snap judgements) In the book it says, ...to convince you that our snap
judgements and first impression can be educated and controlled. (Gladwell Pg. 15) In chapter three of
the book, Blink, it reflects on how snap judgements tie in with stereotypes. It says in the book, We
make connection much more quickly between pairs of ideas that are already related in our minds...
(Gladwell Pg. 77) The chapter starts off with exemplification when Gladwell gives the Warren
Harding example which also explains the bad side to thin slicing. He then goes into classification and
definition with the example of the IAT tests. The IAT tests are the perfect example as to how thin
slicing is not always a good thing. This test measured that second level of attitude in an unconscious
level, so it is our immediate associations that tumble out before you have time to think about them.
The test also shows the unconscious attitudes that you might have even if they are completely opposite

Baroque Er The Baroque Period
The Baroque period spanned from 1600 to 1750. It was a time where new ideas were discovered and
original boundaries were broken to reveal completely different aspects to architecture. Seen as an
artistic style, Baroque was a powerful period, full of flamboyant concepts, derived to create drama.
The Baroque period produced many magnificent buildings, every one extremely detailed.
The catholic church started the Baroque movement through their bid to reclaim their crowd. The
church attempted to do this through the use of art, in the hope that it would attract people, often done
through detailed buildings, but also through the use of dramatic sculptures and paintings.
The Baroque period is full of compelling new ides; architects began to experiment with their buildings
in many ways, one of which was their ability to theoretically captivate spaces through the movement
of the facade, becoming the first movement to not build the buildings right along the boundary of the
plot.
Another futuristic technique used by the baroque was publicly display the buildings staircases as a key
element of a building. Previous styles tended to conceal the staircases, Baroque decided to use the
movement between stories of a building as a feature element; not only did they display them, they
brought them to the fore front of buildings to create a powerful statement.
Buildings built in the movement were symmetrical, this was a continued trait from the renaissance
period. In addition to this, the

Introduction: At first glance, it is understandable to assume that Fyodor Dostoevsky s The Gambler
and F.Scott Fitzgerald s The Beautiful and Damned are incomparable and unrelated in every way.
However, when exploring in detail the character development in each novel, an alternate verdict can
be presented that shows, beyond peradventure, that both novels share similarities. Granted, The
Gambler is about a tutor working for a Russian family and his evolution into a pathological gambler,
where as The Beautiful and Damned is concentrated on the relationship of a wealthy young couple in
the Roaring 20 s who taste the bittersweet consequences of extravagance as the book traces their
mental, moral and physical disintegration. Nevertheless, both novels explore depression as a
concomitant of the amalgamation between love and avarice. Both Dostoevsky and Fitzgerald, through
different settings, character and circumstances, have created a grandiose psychological portrait of
unrequited love as well as depression through addiction and loss. The Gambler is a semi
autobiographical, first person narrative novel written by Fyodor Dostoevsky following the life of

Abstract: The purpose of this lab was to synthesize triphenylmethanol from benzophenone and
bromobenzene by the formation of a Grignard compound with the reagents bromobenzene and
magnesium metal. The bromobenzene was first transformed into the Grignard compound and was then
reacted with the benzophenone to make the final product. The mixture was then mixed with sulfuric
acid and the organic layer was extracted via a separatory funnel. The mixture was then recrystallized
from methanol and was allowed to dry and the percent yield, melting point, and the IR was obtained.
The mass of the product obtained was 5.45 grams and the percentage yield was determined to be

What Does Man s Search For Meaning Mean
Viktor Frankl s Man s Search for Meaning is an incredibly influential novel. Frankl s novel has
inspired so many people and has positively affected many by showing them that something unwanted
could have a good effect in the long run. Viktor Frankl wrote this book nine days after he was released
from Auschwitz, a Nazi Death Camp located in Poland, in 1945. While the novel is heartbreaking, it is
very moving and definitely still worth the read. Because Frankl was a psychiatrist, he analyzed his
awful situation through a scientific lens and also explained psychological reactions of inmates and,
ultimately, theorized the meaning of life. Man s Search For Meaning is so significant because of its
historical importance, strong emotion, and identification of life s purpose and it could be described as
one of the most important popular books of the 20th century (Meinertsen). Man s Search for Meaning
starts out with Frankl describing his journey to an unknown location. When he and the other prisoners

Firstly, attitude is a huge part of Frankl s theory. To Frankl, being a prisoner was an unavoidable

perspective allowed him to outlive other prisoners and live to get rescued. The prisoners who lost hope
were not as fortunate as Frankl. At Frankl s lowest points, he thought about his accomplishments,
dreams, and his wife. He discovered that the meaning of his suffering was for the greater good of
mankind. While sections of the story and touching, they can also be very heartbreaking and make an

they did. In terms of the responses, those of the Black Death and those of Zika, Ebola, and HIV AIDS
were actually very similar in how the fear the outbreaks produced overwhelmed the masses into being
overprotective and paranoid for their own wellbeing.
According to Giovanni Boccaccio s The Decameron, hundreds of Florentine citizens would die daily,
and those who have not met that fate yet would have to walk along the streets inhaling putrid scents ...

HIV AIDS was a sexually transmitted disease that preyed on the gay community in many areas of the
world. No one had an idea of what it was and how it worked; everyone simply relied on the fact that
once you had it, you were as good as dead. On top of sex being somewhat of a taboo topic in
American society, there was also a significant amount of discrimination towards the gay communities,
and once it was known that it was common because of members having several partners, HIV became
more of a stereotype. Gay members were shunned and isolated even more than they already were,
with people not wanting to even be near them. Fear was not the only factor that affected society and
fostered hostility towards others; the pre existent stigma against gay people always played a

Happiness In Silas Marner
Happiness can be found by going down many avenues; some created through love and connections,
and others through greed and petty implements used to fill voids of the soul. Throughout the book,
Silas Marner goes down many of these avenues to create happiness within himself. He first gained the
prized emotion in Lantern Yard through religion, but when he loses that through tragedy, he
obsessively tries to obtain enough gold to fill the void. However, when Eppie comes into his life, Silas
soon learns that love, community, and family connection is what brings true happiness to him.
In Lantern Yard, Marner was a very active member in the church and community. When described as a
brother of the church, he was said to be a young man of exemplary life and ardent faith (Eliot 6). The
particular choice of adjectives used to describe his faith in the Lord supports in full how content
Marner is in this life when he is involved in his religion. Use of the word ardent , meaning enthusiastic
and passionate, to describe his faith are how those experiencing utter content are portrayed as. Another
adjective used to create expression is exemplary , meaning serving as a perfect model. This proves the
claim of Silas happiness because nobody would want to be like a man who is isolated and sorrowful.
So, it is by passionate faith that Marner realizes happiness.
When tragedy strikes, Marner is stripped of his faith and community. He resorts to greed in a
desperate attempt to fill the void

Is there really a difference between common sense and book sense? In general, common sense is that
sixth sense or that survival intuition that has been given to every animal on earth. Therefore, common
sense is literally an instinct or an advanced understanding about one s surroundings. Many people
think of common sense as intuition or wisdom that comes from living a life that exposes one to many
different experiences and circumstances. On the other hand, book sense can be derived from the same
experiences and circumstances as common sense, but there is a difference. Book sense is learning and
analyzing other people s intuition or wisdom. Many of the courses we learn in college are not based on

There were two men. One of the men lived in the projects. He was born and reared in urban Chicago.
He lived a life that many people popularized through music and on television. He was exposed to
drugs, prostitution, destitution, and crime. He barely finished high school because he had to work to
support his family. His everyday life consisted of dodging bullets and keeping his family together. He
was a proud man, and he worked very hard to keep his family together. The streets he came from were
mean and hard, but he survived them. He had to be quick and very smart to survive life in the ghetto.
The other man was your typical educated white collar executive who never had to worry about
anything. He came from a well to do family and lived the life of a privileged class kid. The man knew
a lot because he studied at the best schools. He was well groomed, highly articulated, and graduated
top in his class. After working a full day, the man played golf and enjoyed a favorite meal at his
favorite restaurant.
The two men lived two totally different lifestyles. Who would you pick to be the most educated
between the two men? Many people would consider the privileged class executive. The two cases
illustrate differences between book sense and common sense. The white collar executive went to
college and acquired an education. However, college cannot teach anyone about life experiences if
they have not been previously exposed to them. The

They call it the game, but it s not you can want success all you want, but to get it, you can t falter. You
can t slip. You can t sleep. One eye open, for real and forever. (Jay Z, p. 256) Becoming one of the
wealthiest rappers and entrepreneur is the type of success Jay Z envisioned growing up. Although he
grew up in a poor neighborhood and household, Jay Z s surroundings didn t deter him from success.
He took part in the street life involving illegal activities selling drugs, but never allowed the street life
to consume him. Jay Z grew up in the projects of Brooklyn and was raised by a single mother. Jay Z
took his early childhood struggles and turned them into motivation. He wasn t afraid to dream big. He
went from living in the projects to living in penthouses and mansions. He was a rare success living in
the infamous Marcy Projects, a place consumed by poverty, violence, and drugs. Jay Z is now one of
the most successful entertainers of the 21st century. Brooklyn produced a hip hop icon in Jay Z. As a
result of his numerous milestones and accomplishments, he should be recognized by the city of New
York. He is very arguably the face of New York. He represents Brooklyn like no other. Jay Z deserves
to be recognized with a monument because of his musical and entrepreneurial success, as well as
never forgetting where he came from. There have been many great musical talents to emerge from
Brooklyn such as Mos Def, Talib Kweli, and MC Lyte, but none

Therapeutic Pets
I am debating between two different research questions. The first one is, Are there health benefits from
owning a pet? and the second one is How are pets being used for therapeutic needs and is this reliable?
I have always been interested in animals since I was a little girl. Besides my love for dance, my
affinity for animals is just as great. My ultimate goal is to go to vet school, hopefully at The
University of Florida, and then eventually own my own general practice clinic. My family has always
had some sort of pet in the household as my brother and I were growing up. The pets include: a
Bichon, German Shepard, and a Yorkshire Terrier. Throughout my years of having a pet it has become
apparent to me that I am a much calmer and happier

Leviathan, By Thomas Hobbes
In Leviathan, by Thomas Hobbes, he talks about nature, man, liberty, and other topics. Mr. Hobbes
says that nature hath made men so equal, but how can we determine how they are equal? We can say
everyone is equal before they come into the world, except when they are actually in the world, no one
is the same. Everyone is different in some way, whether it be with respect, money, or just social gains.
One man can claim any benefit to his satisfaction, but is it only satisfying to himself or others? What
makes this satisfying? Something s can be satisfying while others find them horrifying. For example,
in the real world there are psychopaths that murder people and do other totally absurd things. The
normal people find this disturbing, and might find football satisfying to them, but then again, who
defines what is normal about a person.
Without a common power to keep all men in awe, they are in war. Every man is for themselves and
just fighting to be the best, but how can this be? Why can t we all just accept who each other is,
instead of fighting for who can be the best? When men are in war with each other, they have no
common sense between justice and injustice actions. They block everything out and go on a totally
aggressive offensive scheme. All they care about is coming on top and destroying whoever they are at
war with, but why does there have to be war at all? Most people go to war for items and to show who
is best, but can there never be war? The answer is no, to

2000 Word Essay on Being a Team Leader
Non Commissioned officers are a vital part of the United States Army which is why they are often
referred to as the back bone of the Army . Non Commissioned officers play several key roles in the
army, everywhere from the lowest Sergeant or Corporal as a team leader to the First Sergeant working
as advisory and counter part to a Captain in charge of a Company, to a Command Sergeant Major,
responsible for anything fro a battalion to an entire post. Regardless of which position a non
commissioned offer finds themselves in their responsibilities inherent to that role are of the utmost
importance.
Non commissioned officers must be responsible for everything within their left and right limits.
Which means being accountable for what you do or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Making the right choice and acting on it when faced with an ethical question can be difficult.
Sometimes, it means standing your ground and telling your supervisor you think their wrong. If you
think an order is illegal, first be sure that you understand both the details of the order and its original
intent.
With all these things in consideration it is clear that being a non commissioned officer is a job that
holds absolute importance in the army. In a field environment the job of a non commissioned officer is
to lead their soldiers into combat and issue orders commanding their team, squad or platoon. A team
leader in specific is tasked with possibly the most difficult job in the army. They deal with their small
group of four or five soldiers but in the most direct hands on approach, more so than any other non
commissioned officer job in the Army. Although it is the most junior position as a non commission
officer it holds the most difficult task which does a lot to break in a new non commissioned officer. If
a team leader fails to do his job its will usually hold the biggest consequences. If a team leader fails
his soldiers in a combat situation soldiers can be wounded or killed. Although this is the most extreme
outcome a team leader must work hard to learn his position and embrace his duties as quickly and
responsibly as possible. Being a team leader in a garrison environment is also very difficult but also a

High Intensity Interval Training ( H.i ) Essay
Acute: sharp or severe in effect; intense
Conjugated: joined together, esp. in a pair or pairs; coupled
There are tons of articles trumpeting the benefits of high intensity interval training (H.I.I.T.), making
claims of accelerated fat loss and increased heart function when compared to steady state cardio.
There are tons more articles espousing the benefits of high intensity weight training for these same
goals as well as increased bone density. Literally, there are tons. I ve printed them out and weighed
them all.
Luckily for you, I also read all of those articles I found and I ve come to the conclusion that they re
onto something. H.I.I.T. is much better for most individuals overall health and fitness than long
endurance type cardio sessions. Weight training builds bones, just like milk was supposed to. Both
forms of exercise affect the hormonal system positively, eliciting a post exercise response that uses a
substantial amount of energy from optimal sources throughout the day. This is the basis of A.C.T., or
Acute Conjugated Training.
Benefits of High Intensity Exercise
Before I tell you about A.C.T., let s get a brief review of the benefits of both high intensity resistance
and interval training. Below is a non comprehensive list of clinical evaluations that show the many
benefits of high intensity exercise:

Stonewall Riot Historical Analysis
Research Question: My research question involves the history of the LGBTQ community s
relationship with law enforcement, particularly around the time when the community had little to no
support or protection under the jurisdiction of the United States. I am expanding my knowledge on the
Stonewall Riot s coverage within the media to discover if the framing of the protesters as militant was
used to rally support behind a police force with a heteronormative agenda, in order to point out the
biases that would have been overlooked in the original coverage of this event. Object Domain: The
object domain of this historical analysis would stem from American in the late 1960 s, in particular the
week of June 28th, 1969. The analysis would be centered ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This could be done using the primary photographs and interviews preserved from these nights of
rioting, as well as being supplemented by the commentary found within secondary reports of the
activities. Second, the actual riots would be addressed through interviews from both the LGBTQ
perspective and the view of the police force, bystanders, bar workers, as well as the individual(s)
responsible for allowing the raid. To address the second, more media involved, aspect of my research
question, I would analyze primary sources such as recordings, photographs, captions from
newspapers, headlines, and news broadcasted onto nationally available channels. Additional
Information: I would need to supply general definitions of the LGBTQ community, as well as show
that there was a significant population of these individuals living around the Stonewall Inn and
benefitting from its progressive modes of operation. Once that community has been established, I
would then take the time to explain the past tensions that members of the LGBTQ community have
faced due to unnecessary violence at the hands of law enforcement individuals, in particular how those
altercations would often turn

The purpose of this council was to attend to issues such as secularism, rationalism, and materialism. This council explored the principle of papal infallibility as well. The political environment surrounding The First Vatican Council was chaotic, due to the unification of Italy and Franco Prussian War. Led by the kingdom of Prussia, the Franco Prussian War was a conflict, between the Second French Empire and Prussia which had supremacy over much of Germany. French troops abandoned their defence of the Papal States after suffering a heavy loss to the Prussians. Italian patriots were then able to seize the Papal States and Rome and unify all of Italy. • 5. Toward The Metrication Of The United States Toward the Metrication of the United States The United States was founded on the ideologies of originality and independence from extraneous authority. To many, America is more than just a country, it is the land of the free and is a light in the darkness from the rest of the world. This inspiration has served Americans well throughout the past, but provides a reason to be reluctant to try successful ideas from foreign countries. The reluctance of accepting the metric system is the prominent example of the country s stubbornness to change its views. The switch to the metric system in the United States is more than just a proposal to be pushed aside, it is a necessity to survive in the changing market. College students are the next ... This simplification increases efficiency and allows for much easier calculations. History of the metric system. In order for the younger generation to push for the switch to the metric system in the United States, they must have some background knowledge on how the metric system came about. According to the U.S. Metric Association, the founding father of the metric system is Gabriel Mouton of France. He first thought of a system of measurements based on decimals in 1670. The system was first based on a nautical mile and also the length of a pendulum needed to swing at one swing per second. During the years following 1670, numerous French scientists edited and made improvements to the system. The metric system then became the official units of weights and measurements in France on April 7, 1795 (Origin of the Metric System). When France decided to adopt the metric system, this served as a catalyst for the adoption in the rest of the world. After France became the first country to adopt these measurements, other countries started to notice that the metric system was well suited for science and industrialization, so they decided to adopt the measurements as well. To no surprise, the change caught on quickly. According to the U.S. Metric association, By 1900 a total of 35 nations, including the major nations of continental ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Effect Of Concentration On Rate Of Reaction With... How does changing the concentration of Hydrochloric acid affect its rate of reaction with Sodium Thiosulphate? Introduction/aim the aim of this experiment is to see how changing the concentration of hydrochloric acid would change its rate of reaction with Sodium Thiosulphate. This was done by changing the concentration of Hydrochloric acid to 4 different concentrations and adding them to the same amount of sodium thiosulphate. This is done in different beakers that will previously be placed over a piece of paper marked with an x. Once the reaction fully takes place, the x would no longer be visible therefore the time it takes for the x to no longer be visible is our dependent variable. Hypothesis the hypothesis is that as the concentration is increased, the rate of reaction will increase, but the time will decrease. This is because if the concentration is higher, there will be more of the sodium thiosulphate, therefore the reaction will take less time as the two mixtures will collide at a higher frequency. The trend in the graphs that will be later plotted will not be directly proportional. Graph 1 ( concentration vs time ) has a negative correlation and graph 2 ( concentration vs rate ) has a positive correlation. This is because as the concentration is increased the time will decrease, that s why graph 1 will have a negative correlation. Graph 2 will have a positive correlation as rate will be 1/time, therefore the graph flips. Neither of the graphs will be directly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

At the turn of the twentieth century, Americans were especially confident in their technology and mastery over the natural world, that many felt that inclement and dangerous weather could be predicted so accurately that there was no need to fear. These attitudes in combination with a series of political problems within the Weather Bureau led to the ignoring of warnings from Cuban meteorologists regarding the storm. In an effort not to cause panic, no warning was given to Galveston residents of the storm until it was too late. The lack of warning combined with Galveston s misfortune of being very near the eye of the hurricane and being hit by the storm at a 90° angel, left the city vulnerable to the storm s full force. Yet dentists are often instrumental in diagnosing and treating many cases of recurring headaches. This is because a number of recurring pains in the head, neck, jaw, and face are caused by conditions in the mouth and the rest of the craniofacial area. In the rush to recruit labor, agricultural tasks were neglected, sometimes leaving the grain harvest to rot in the fields. Crop production began to falter. After Teddy s talk with his uncle, his innocent love of playing with Theodoresburg has been ruined. The gradual destruction of the beta cells of the pancreas usually leads to complete insulin deficiency, which ultimately manifests itself in the following symptoms at clinical onset: high blood glucose (hyperglycemia), frequent urination (polyuria), excessive thirst (polydipsia), and a significant amount of weight loss, dehydration, electrolyte disturbances and ketoacidosis , requiring dependency of exogenous insulin in order to promote optimal glycemic control in order to prevent further more severe complications; such as, ketoacidosis, microvascular diseases, macrovascular diseases, neuropathy, or worse Death (Mahan et al., 2012). Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus can result from two existing forms: 1. This God s plenty features numerous unique and challenging individuals, but there is one specifically who stands out as particularly interesting. • 38. The Grignard Synthesis of Triphenylmethanol Abstract: The purpose of this lab was to synthesize triphenylmethanol from benzophenone and bromobenzene by the formation of a Grignard compound with the reagents bromobenzene and magnesium metal. The bromobenzene was first transformed into the Grignard compound and was then reacted with the benzophenone to make the final product. The mixture was then mixed with sulfuric acid and the organic layer was extracted via a separatory funnel. The mixture was then recrystallized from methanol and was allowed to dry and the percent yield, melting point, and the IR was obtained. The mass of the product obtained was 5.45 grams and the percentage yield was determined to be 41.95%. The melting point range obtained from the final product was 89 91°C ... Half of the bromobenzene solution was added first into the round bottom flask and as soon as a color change was observed, the remaining half of the bromobenzene was added drop wise into the round bottom flask. The mixture was then refluxed on a heating mantle for 10 minutes until most of the magnesium has been consumed. After the initial mixture has refluxed, 9.11 grams of benzophenone was dissolved in 100 mL of anhydrous ether in a beaker and was then transferred into the separatory on the reflux apparatus. This solution was then added to the Grignard reagent at a drop wise rate while stirring. After the benzophenone was added, the mixture was then refluxed for 15 minutes on a heating mantle. After the mixture finished refluxing, the flask was then cooled on ice. A sulfuric acid solution was then prepared by pouring 4.5 mL of concentrated H2SO4 over 50 grams of ice and then diluted to 75 mL by adding enough tap water to reach 75 mL. The sulfuric acid solution was then cooled on ice. The Claisen adapter was then removed from the 250 mL round bottom flask and the condenser was then attached to the top of the round bottom flask which was then put on ice. The sulfuric acid solution was then poured through the condenser in order to protonate the product. A stirring rod was then used to dislodge any solid that was stuck to ... Frankl s novel has inspired so many people and has positively affected many by showing them that something unwanted could have a good effect in the long run. Viktor Frankl wrote this book nine days after he was released from Auschwitz, a Nazi Death Camp located in Poland, in 1945. While the novel is heartbreaking, it is very moving and definitely still worth the read. Because Frankl was a psychiatrist, he analyzed his awful situation through a scientific lens and also explained psychological reactions of inmates and, ultimately, theorized the meaning of life. Man s Search For Meaning is so significant because of its historical importance, strong emotion, and identification of life s purpose and it could be described as one of the most important popular books of the 20th century (Meinertsen). To Frankl, being a prisoner was an unavoidable hardship and the only way for him to survive was to accept his life for what it had become. His perspective allowed him to outlive other prisoners and live to get rescued. The prisoners who lost hope were not as fortunate as Frankl. At Frankl s lowest points, he thought about his accomplishments, dreams, and his wife. He discovered that the meaning of his suffering was for the greater good of mankind. It acted quickly, killing the people who contracted it within three days once they displayed any symptoms. It s no surprise that the people who were affected reacted the way they did. In terms of the responses, those of the Black Death and those of Zika, Ebola, and HIV AIDS were actually very similar in how the fear the outbreaks produced overwhelmed the masses into being overprotective and paranoid for their own wellbeing. Happiness In Silas Marner Happiness can be found by going down many avenues; some created through love and connections, and others through greed and petty implements used to fill voids of the soul. • 47. Leviathan, By Thomas Hobbes In Leviathan, by Thomas Hobbes, he talks about nature, man, liberty, and other topics. Mr. Hobbes says that nature hath made men so equal, but how can we determine how they are equal? We can say everyone is equal before they come into the world, except when they are actually in the world, no one is the same. Everyone is different in some way, whether it be with respect, money, or just social gains. One man can claim any benefit to his satisfaction, but is it only satisfying to himself or others? What makes this satisfying? Something s can be satisfying while others find them horrifying. For example, in the real world there are psychopaths that murder people and do other totally absurd things. The normal people find this disturbing, and might find football satisfying to them, but then again, who defines what is normal about a person. With all these things in consideration it is clear that being a non commissioned officer is a job that holds absolute importance in the army.
