Single Sex Instruction Is An Old Approach That Is...
Single sex instruction is an old approach that is increasing new force. While single sex instruction has
since a long time ago existed in numerous non public schools, it s a moderately new choice for state
funded schools. The National Association for Single Sex Public Education gauges that around 400
government funded schools now offer some type of single sex training. What is filling this
development? What s more, what are the dangers and advantages of single sex training?
A main impetus in the single sex training development is late research demonstrating regular contrasts
in how guys and females learn. Putting this examination into practice, in any case, has set off a level
headed discussion that develops past unadulterated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Some guardians don t need their kids to be in blended sexual orientation classrooms in light of the fact
that, particularly at specific ages, understudies of the inverse sex can be a diversion.
Leonard Sax and others concur that simply setting young men in isolated classrooms from young
ladies achieves little. Be that as it may, single sex training upgrades understudy achievement when
educators use procedures intended for the sex of their understudies.
Some examination demonstrates that young ladies learn better when classroom temperature is warm,
while young men perform better in cooler classrooms. On the off chance that that is valid, then the
temperature in a solitary sex classroom could be set to streamline the learning of either male or female
understudies.
Some exploration and reports from teachers propose that solitary sex training can widen the
instructive prospects for both young ladies and young men. Advocates claim co ed schools have a
tendency to strengthen sexual

Theories Of The Great Man Theory
Great man theory
This theory evolved around the 19th century, and was originally proposed by Thomas Carlyle. The
great man theory is basically assuming that, only an individual that was born with greatness is indeed
great. The focus on great leaders were limited to only men, as women were not seen as leaders in any
way. Leaders are born and not made (leadership theories). From this statement, Thomas Carlyle is
making it clear that a person cannot be made a great leader by any extrinsic means, but it must be
intrinsic traits of leadership that this person was born with, that can enable him to become a great
leader. Great leaders will arise when there is a great need (leadership theories). By this, Carlyle meant
that you may see a great leader every day without even knowing that this person is a great leader, but
as soon as the need arises for a great leader you will then recognize the individual that was gifted to be
the great leader in completing that specific task. This theory ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This leadership theory argues that there is no specific way of leading, rather a leadership style should
be based on the situation. This means that when a person is set to lead, they will perform at maximum
level, however as soon as they are taken out of their element this level of performance may fall. Also,
a leadership style that worked well in one situation may not work well in another situation and so it s
based on how a leader adjust in various situations. To a certain extent contingency leadership theories
are an extension of the trait theory, in the sense that human traits are related to the situation in which
the leaders exercise their leadership. (leadership theories). I agree with this statement, since an
individual in leadership mode would indeed possess better characteristic traits than when they are not
leading. This theory also assumed that leaders are more likely to express their leadership when they
feel that their followers will be

Comparing Fletcher And Nieman
J.K. Simmons plays the brilliant sadist, Terence Fletcher who will do anything to unlock his student s
potential and push them past the limits of what s expected. Fletcher gives no pats on the back or words
of encouragement, he picks even the most minuscule mistakes that his students make especially
Nieman, and uses it to beat them with a burst of vulgar tirades, in which you can t help but chuckle at
some comments. His abusive and manipulative behavior seeds out the weak in his military like
orchestra so students can dedicate themselves to practicing and achieving ultimate greatness. Fletcher
and Nieman are both perfectionist and driven by music and greatness. There are no two words in the
English language more harmful than good job . Fletcher ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The story is not only told through character development but editing of suspense and manic energy.
Most of the film is either synchronized edited through the music or traditional edits. Shots
rhythmically change based on the music beats and changes. Fast paced cutting and action of
instruments of music are made like music videos to keep scenes visually interesting. The film also
becomes even more heated up for example, when Fletcher slaps Nieman, the camera is close up and
jumps eyeliner with every hit making the moment visually disorientating. A slight camera shake is
also visible when the scene climaxes and enhances rumbling moments in scenes. Slow motion is used
when Nieman is confident and relaxed, in order to glorify his self assurance before it gets crushed by
fletchers teaching. But there are slow traditional scenes throughout the movie, for example when
Andrew is with Nicole the editing is long with no fast cuts to keep a gentle romantic tone between the
characters. Tom Cross uses a lot of cut to the beat, quick editing but also shows traditional edits to
keep you on your toes and ultimately give the movie it s feeling of uncertainty and spontaneity which
enhances the themes underlining the

Basic Legal Contract Principles For A Contract
The above scenario is difficult to analyse due to there being no executed contract documentation to
review such as a specification or terms and conditions to base a recommendation upon. Basic legal
contract principles should therefore be applied to establish if a contract was in place, if it had been
breached, along with potential remedies applied to each party. To identify if there was a breach of
contract between John (the client) and Chris (the Contractor) it is key to establish if there was a legally
binding contract in place. In order for a contract to be deemed legally binding , it must abide by three
key elements which are offer, consideration and acceptance. The sum of £6,000 was offered for the
service and subsequently agreed consideration completed by Chris whom accepted. With the capacity
of both directors, including intent from both parties to carry out their promise, a contract was formed.
As part of the contract negotiations £1,000 was paid in advance to Chris, without any identified agreed
terms and conditions. Advanced payments in contracts such as these are typically used to purchase the
materials required to undertake the work. It is to be assumed that the £1,000 advanced payment was
used to purchase the paint required to carry out the works. The remaining £5,000 was due to Chris
once the works were completed to a satisfactory level. When agreeing to the terms of the contract,
John clearly sets a requirement of the works being satisfactory. The

The first three we had looked at was the Phenakistoscope, Praxinoscope and the Thaumatrope. Viktor
demonstrated all three methods which was fascinating. These popular devices were inspired in the
nineteenth century by Peter Mark Roget s theory of visual persistence, which held that our eyes retain
an image for a fraction of a second, permitting a series of still images to become fused as a moving
image.
Another way to break down movements into a series of still pictures is a so called video flipbook . A
flipbook is the simplest way of making a sequence of still pictures appears to move. The intervals of
darkness necessary for the illusion of motion are provided by the turn, or flip of each page. The
nineteenth century photographic experiments of Eadweard Muybridge and Etienne Jules Marey broke
down the movements of animals into a series of still pictures. When displayed in rapid succession,
these pictures appear to be moving, recreating the original motion that the images document.
Moving further in the exhibition, we looked at Brooklyn based artist Gregory Barsamian s kinetic
sculptures animate three dimensional objects in real time. He called it Feral Fount which is a physical
representation of a dream he had in which drops of water from his kitchen faucet transformed into a
bomb, and then a paper airplane before crashing into his dishpan. The artwork is a stroboscopic

What Inspiration Mean To Me
Inspiration can be found in anything or anyone. Someone who you look up to that makes you want to
follow in their footsteps, is an inspiration. Something that gives you an idea to do something great is
an inspiration. Mrs. Patton, my Java teacher, is inspirational to me because she challenges herself,
works through problems, and always has a good attitude, as well as a smile on her face, which inspires
me to be a computer programmer. Mrs. Patton is always looking for awesome new ways to teach us
new material. For example, we have been going over methods and method calls. We were assigned to
make a robot that can travel from Point A to Point B, those points being any whole integer, which we
were to input into the program from the output window.

Tom And Bob Can Appoint Carl As A Replacement For Tom
The first issue is whether Tom and Bob can appoint Carl as a replacement for Tom. In order to execute
this function, it must first be determined whether Tom and Bob are still legitimate trustees given their
current circumstances. The appointment of trustees will be made where a new trust is created either
inter vivos or by will; and during the continuance for an existing trust whereby one trustee may seek
to retire. On the death of a trustee, the remnants are given to the survivors to carry on the trust. Section
18(1) of the Trustee Act 1925 (UK) provides that where a power or trust is given to or imposed on two
or more trustees jointly, the same may be exercised or performed by the survivors or survivor of them
for the time being. Further, s. 48 (1) of the Trinidad and Tobago Trustee Act provides that the
appointment of a new trustee are outside of the realms of a court and the execution is done by persons
expressed in the trust instrument , or by the surviving trustees or by the survivor s personal
representative. Thus, Tom and Bob may have the power under the common law or Trinidadian statute
to appoint Carl. However, there may also be the sub issue of whether Tom has the competence to
make the appointment of a new trustee. Section 10 (1) of the Trustee Act states that where a trustee,
either original or substituted, and whether appointed by a Court or otherwise, is dead, or remains out
of this Island for more than twelve months, or

Intelligent [UNK] Pavilion Analysis
The Intelligent Hospital™ Pavilion was presented at Orlando s Healthcare Information and
Management Systems Society (HIMSS) 2014 conference. The concept of an Intelligent Hospital™
started in 2009 as an initiative from the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) in Health Care
Consortium (Frisch, 2014). Its purpose was to promote and seamlessly combine education and
technology into an environment that can enhance patient care by having live demonstrations utilizing
the latest technology. Five different types of hospital rooms including ICU (as seen in the video),
emergency department, cardiology suite, labor and delivery and a step down unit were featured in the
Intelligent Hospital™ Pavilion along with an intelligent pharmacy.
The first type of technology mentioned in this video to provide the proper environment in the ICU and
used in the ICU at the Intelligent Hospital™ was Switchable Privacy Glass, also known as eGlass.
eGlass provides privacy for the patient along with infection control compared to curtains or double
pane glass improving patient s ICU experience. eGlass can be easily switched from clear to opaque
white. It can allow a clear view into a patient s room but can also easily provide privacy for exams,
procedures, and private conversations when necessary. eGlass is a solution that eliminates ... Show

sociology in religion
A Critical Analysis of Putnam, Robert D., and David E. Campbell. American Grace: How Religion
Divides and Unites Us. New York: Simon Schuster, 2010. Print, pp 1 246
In a renowned examination to approach religion as a sociological study, respected scholars Robert D.
Putnam and David E. Campbell trek through the social history of our nation over the past few decades
and the affects that have consequently or thankfully been left on religious institutions. While the
authors explore detailed cultural developments, America s religiosity and diversity is examined
through comprehensive surveys and empirical analysis. As Putnam and Campbell search to uncover
the relationship between sociological developments and religious institutions, a ... Show more content

As society began to expand under this foundation, women became increasingly more respected and
their presence was accepted into various social realms that previously were not inviting for women.
On the list of newly acceptable places for women to thrive is the workplace, which is another affect of
the rise of women in religion according to our authors. Putnam and Campbell claim that these are
interrelated because it was a social change that happened simultaneously, but the authors continue by
giving little example to what sort of revolutionary changes happened to women inside of the churches.
This brings the validity of their conclusion regarding cultural development and religion to question:
did the authors uncover correlation, or are they over generalizing causation for the sake of the
argument? Other experts have questioned the correlation as well, as Wallstreet journalist Wilfred
McClay goes it say: In matters of sexuality, they offer a surprisingly crude formulation that reflects the
authors rather coercive brand of moderation: The polarization of the past five decades on sexual
matters has come about because libertines and prudes have successively provoked one another. If only

Legal Issues Related To The Fashion Industry
The major problems facing companies, especially smaller ones, in resolving product adaptation issues
are things that can differ in different cultures such as the taste of the product, the style, the color, or
symbols, language, but also more specific like differences in technology, environmental differences,
religion etc. The taste of a product is very important for the food, drinks and cigarette industry. Style is
more important in car and fashion industry, which also includes the color and symbols. The meaning
of a color or a symbol can differ from culture to culture. The package of the product can also need
adaptations. Special symbols and the language need to adapt to the country/culture. Some symbols can

4. Propose ways in which intellectual property piracy could be stopped permanently. I believe that it is
simply not realistic to speak of eliminating all piracy, as there will always be at least a small segment
of the population who can t be deterred from stealing others ideas and creativity. Instead, what we can
and should strive for is the reduction of piracy to the lowest levels possible; levels that will not rob
authors and copyright owners of the incentive to create and distribute their works. I believe that this
could be accomplished through a two step copyright protection program of: 1) crafting a proper legal
framework and 2) the adequate and proper implementation of the said framework. The legal
framework provides the basic rights to copyright owners and establishes procedures for the
enforcement of those rights. Those procedures must provide the opportunity to obtain adequate
remedies when those rights are violated as well as the possibility of punitive monetary judgments and,
in appropriate cases, imprisonment of the infringer. The second part of this copyright protection
program is the application of these legal rules to ensure that copyright owners have actual, effective
protection against infringement of their rights. 5. The software industry is the hardest hit by piracy.

Before I longboarded, I thought that I would never learn hot to ride one or that I as going to get hurt.
Well one of those things came true and I ll tell you that it wasn t the first one. It was a sunny
Milwaukee afternoon and me and my friend Nick were very hungry. He wanted to go to Wendy s but
no one there to drive us and it was at least a mile away. He suggested that he rides his longboard, and I
ride my bike, but my bike was buried in the back of my garage. But then he said that I should ride my
dad s longboard to Wendy s. I was nervous but I said I would only ride it if my dad said yes thinking

We stopped at a church so I could take off my shirt because I was really hot outside. When we were 10

Causes Of Forbidden Love In Romeo And Juliet Essay
The cause of forbidden love and death The play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, is about a
boy and a girl that come from two feuding families and find themself with forbidden love and getting
controlled by anger and ending up in death. There are many themes that are shown in the play, but one
that stuck out to me is how anger is controlling and can make you do things you d never do, the anger
between the two families is mysterious and misleading and the cause of their tragic death. Their
families happen to be very controlling of who they marry and who they fall in love with. In the
beginning the families are fighting and we see anger as something the families think is healthy and it s
just a little rivalry until it affects something as big as someone s life. When Shakespeare writes Where

O, i am a fortune s fool! (3.3 142) Romeo says after he kills Tybalt, this shows what Romeo was

Juliet again. In this quote we can understand at this point in the story Shakespeare sees anger as
something misleading and anger can blind you and let your emotions go until it makes you do stupid
things without thinking about it. Based on the way Shakespeare words this quote, we see that anger
has clearly taken control over the couple, Romeo is banned from the city, which is where Juliet his
wife lives. Romeo is now going to Friar Laurence because he s been banned. Juliet is really confused
and does not want to be forced to marry Paris and would rather die. With all the anger heating up

The Arch Of Titus And The Arc De Trionmphe
In many places throughout the world many buildings, monuments and sculptures have been made.
Some were made centuries ago, and some were made recently. Many works of arts are significant or a
great part of history. Some of the many buildings that have been made throughout time could have
also been dedicated to someone or something. For example, the Arch of Titus was dedicated to Titus.
Another example would be the Arc de Triomphe which was dedicated to soldiers. Many buildings can
have a very significant meaning behind them, in the following essay I will be speaking about the
importance of both of these works of art, which are the Arch of Titus and the Arc de Triomphe. The

The Use Of Corporal Punishment In Schools
All across the US corporal punishment is being given to students as a method of discipline. Corporal
punishment is infliction of pain as a punishment for an offense. Corporal punishment is legal in 19
states in school and at home That means that the government is allowing students to suffer just so they
can learn a lesson. Corporal punishment does not belong in schools because it can hurt students
emotionally/mentally, it shows students discrimination, and can harm students physically. When a
child is hit by a teacher, it can harm them emotionally short and long term. The use of corporal
punishment in schools can make a child more aggressive, defiant, and oppositional (Dupper, CP in US
Public Schools). By hitting a student, the teacher is thinking they are teaching them a lesson but really
they are setting them up to be more defiant once more and be hit again. It is a vicious cycle that will
never end until the student is damaged for the rest of their life. Teachers hit kids because they think it
will help them out in the long run but really it can lead to a number of different things such as anxiety,
hostility, depression, aggression against authorities, teachers, and property. In the teachers mind they
are preventing this student from acting out again but really they can come back and destroy school
property. Also, the teacher may believe that because they hit this student the student will become a
better person but really it makes them so much worse. Lastly, corporal punishment can affect a student
s self image and weaken their social skills (Rollins, Revisiting the Issue). When a student is hit, they
think less of themselves because they believe that the reason they were hit is because they are lesser
than everyone else. They also could stop making new friends and become socially awkward because
they are afraid that everyone will not be their friend just because others were not nice. Teachers do not
understand the consequences that a student must face when he or she is hit by them. Some people may
say that they can go to therapy and get better but most likely the student will still have permanent
emotional damage. Another reason corporal punishment does not belong in school is because it
teaches

life. The Smolinsky sisters are expected to work really long hours and bring in their wages to help pay
for food, and house wages while the father, Reb Smolinsky, stays home and studies the Holy Torah
instead of working and supporting his family. Throughout the book, Reb Smolinsky s goal is to marry
off his daughters to an ideal man so they can give him money to thank them for all he has done for
them and he even calls himself the Matchmaker. According to the Reb s beliefs, women are expected

the society and has been part of it for a long time, he does not stop practicing his religious beliefs and
keeps on studying the Holy Torah and continues to give preachings to his family. Although he marries

Oedipus Play
When I was a high school student, my school required our language arts teacher to assign readings on
Sophocles plays about Oedipus. We were required to read the plays for different reasons, one being to
learn the structure of plays. Plays in 440 B.C. were different from one another because of the culture
they came from. Cultures have different ideas and values, Sophocles plays introduced us to the Greek
culture. You may think the plays do not reflect the values of the San Bernardino community, but the
plays are not meant to reflect the values of the San Bernardino community or any other community.

Okay you make a good point but the plays undermine the traditional family unit. Yes the traditional
family unit does not consist of a man marrying his mother and having children with his mother, but
that is not what one should focus on when reading the play. Students might be surprised to read the
play but students are encouraged to focus on the messages and symbols beyond the marriage. Both
Oedipus and his wife/mother Jocasta were blind (not literally), they were blind to their fate. Both
Oedipus and Jocasta tried to change their fate, Oedipus left his parents because of the prophecy that he
will sleep with his mother and kill his father. Jocasta and king Laius sent their son to get killed

Drug Hormones Have On Animals Essay
Effects Drug Hormones Have on Animals
The smell of pork chops or hamburger on the grill tends to make people s mouth water. Did you know
that farmers feed animals drug hormones? Farmers feed animals drug hormones that effect their
growth and get into the meat source? People will look at food labels and sees the FDA stamp. As
customers we tend to think that if the FDA approves the meat then we can eat the product safely.
However, many drug hormones have not only effected animals growth but also may cause harm to
customers.
Farmer try to ensure the best quality meat. Then why every thirty days are farmers injecting our
animals with drugs that could kill them or even possibly get into their meat. Researchers were finding
that ractopamine could cause animals to become sick, unhealthy or possibly could even die (Minton).
Farmers were using the drug ractopamine for animals to help animals grow faster. If animals gain
weight faster, when they go to slaughter they tend to make more money for the farmers. Growth
promotion is one of the main reason why farmers give them hormone drugs. According to Dan Charles

The Issue Of Marijuana Legalization
The matters of marijuana Marijuana is still illegal in the eyes of the federal government but the states
claim it is, in fact, legal for the states to openly practice recreational and medicinal usage of the drug.
Now with many people sick the only other option after numerous prescriptions that make the people
sicker marijuana given its pain releasing properties seems to be the only thing we can count on.
Marijuana first dated euphoric use dates back to 2737 BC. Its use spread from China to India, in the
writing of the Chinese emperor Shen Nung its focus was a medication for gout, rheumatism, malaria,
and absent mindedness. In India, Muslims used it on a daily basis, the Muslims were the ones who
introduced hashish. In 1545 the Spaniards brought marijuana to the New World, marijuana was
introduced in Jamestown in 1611 where it was a significant as tobacco was at the time and was grown

Gospel Of Luke Analysis
The Gospel of Luke was written by a Greek speaking Christian. It was not written to replace the
Gospel of Mark, but as a new account written for an audience under different circumstances than
Mark s community. The church was becoming more Gentiles than Jews. Most people in Luke s
community were not familiar with the Jewish traditions that were referred to by many preachers.
Many members of the community were well off as well. This community struggled to follow a church
that had a Hebrew core. These issues are what influenced Luke s writing. Luke wanted his community
to know that they were all included in God s plan for salvation even though in history the Jews would
have been the first to know. A few of the major themes of Luke s Gospel were: salvation for all, mercy
and forgiveness, and modern ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the early Christian community, this story was seen as a call to faith in Jesus who is present in the
church during stormy times (Kodell 953). This interpretation is still incredibly relevant for Christians
today. This passage shows Christians that Jesus is there for you through everything. Even in tough
times, Jesus is there. The storm in the passage is symbolic for stormy times in life. Jesus calming the
storm is representative of the support that God can provide for you during tough times. No matter
what the situation, God will be there for you.
The Calming of a Storm at Sea shows Luke s community the power of Jesus. It shows that Jesus is
there for you when you need him. The passage shows that even when you lack faith, like the disciples
did, God will still be there for you. In this story, Jesus takes a situation where the disciples are in
danger and calms it to where they are safe. This is representative of the fact that when you are in
danger, you can turn to Jesus and he will save you. The passage clearly shows God s saving power and

Lockheed Martin (F-35 JSF)
The big concern to Lockheed Martin is, when the purchase orders begin to decline, which will affect
the operators confidence in F 35 JSF. Then the Pentagon will modernize its fleet of fighter aircrafts in

desire to F 35 JSF would be negligible. This repeats the F 22 scenario with the complex and expensive

They stingily agreed to integrate. The main theme of the book was racial tension. The white folks
treated the black folks like they were dirt. Even older white folks treated the younger black children
like dirt. I do not understand how any adult could hit a child, especially because of their color. One
instance that really bothered me was when a white man almost raped Melba because she was black. It
was in 1954, immediately after Brown vs. the Board of Education decision had came down. After that
she said she was going to read the newspaper because she wanted to know when white men got angry.
And sometimes she had to spend her own nickel for it. Another theme throughout the book could be
determination. The nine children were determined to carry out integration. They did not give up. Some
older black folks in the neighborhood faulted the nine children for the actual attempt of integration.
They claimed that it made it harder than it already was to be black and living in Little Rock. For
example, Melba s neighbor Mrs. Floyd said to her after the first day at Central, Now You ve had your

Reflection Essay On Observation
To obtain knowledge, one must study; but to receive wisdom, one must observe. Observation, often
defined as the action or process of watching something or someone to gain information. Throughout
the semester, students within the education department had the genuine opportunity to both learn and
grow as future educators through observations outside of the classroom. Throughout the semester, I
chose to observe at the following programs: Breakaway at Westridge Church, Poole Elementary
School s Learning Bridge, and AWANA at Callie Harbin Baptist Church. As a future educator, I
learned that often observation is education as education and learning are so much more than a
textbook. For my first observation, I chose to observe at a respite event known as Breakaway at
Westridge Church located in Dallas Georgia. Breakaway is a cost free respite event for both special
needs participants and their families. This function allows individuals of all ages to enjoy supervised
entertainment and activities planned precisely for them. Breakaway, Outdoor Extravaganza, an event
consisting of carnival clowns, games, outdoor inflatables, corn hole, hayrides, arts, crafts, face
painting, petting zoo, music, and so much more. Through this observation, I had the genuine
opportunity to view life from different perspectives as special needs individuals enjoyed a day
prepared explicitly for them. For example, I had the opportunity to share such a joyous day with an
individual who holds my heart captive. I sat back and watched as he rode the hayride with his
volunteer; consequently, my heart filled with joy as he laughed the whole way through. Once the
hayride came to a close, he and his volunteer traveled to visit the fire trucks and see all of its bells and
whistles as he had the chance to climb inside. In addition to all the excellent outdoor activities, each
child had a chance to hang out, listen to music, see ballet dancers perform, and hear the word of God
brought forth through interactive Bible stories. This experience overjoyed my heart as I saw firsthand
that children with special needs paint the world with beautiful colors every day as they love more
profound than one s mind can fathom. For my second

Pauline Letters Essay
A universal theme seen throughout the writings and letters of Paul is justification by faith. Justification
by faith means that those who truly share a belief in God are saved by him. During the biblical period,
it was commonly thought that our pending salvation was dependent on our ability to obey the laws
given to the chosen people, those whom were believed to be chosen by God. Instead, Paul argues that
our righteousness is obtained through our faith in Jesus alone.
The book of Romans gives answers to questions everyone may ask to themselves, such as how to
obtain our salvation, the judgment of all people at the end of time, how to grow ... Show more content

For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed a righteousness that is by faith from first to last,
just as it is written: The righteous will live by faith. (Romans 1:16 17) This substantiates the belief that
you cannot repair your relationship with God solely through your good deeds; it is instead
accomplished through faith in Jesus Christ and all of His wondrous works.
One may question how man can be justified if we are all born into sin. Paul answers this question in
(Romans 3:21 31), stating that men can be justified in the God s eyes through their faith in Jesus
Christ. An observant reader of the Bible may take note of how many times Paul mentions faith in this
section. God did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one
who justifies those who have faith in Jesus. (Romans 3:26) One can imagine the Jewish reaction to
this declaration since their beliefs stem only from Old Testament teachings and justification was based
on being a Jew, circumcision, and the Law of Moses; not through faith in Jesus Christ. Paul anticipates
their objection when he asks, Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather, we uphold
the law. (Romans 3:31) Here, Paul is concluding that it is through our preaching that men are justified
by their faith in Jesus Christ and are confirming the law. The Law of Moses directed men to Jesus
Christ because according to scripture, sin was prevalent at the time. The

Don Giovanni Essay
Produced by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in 1787, Don Giovanni is regarded as one the best operas
ever made. The piece is based on the legend of Don Juan, an illusory libertine and seducer of women
(Kerns, 2010). At first, Mozart s opera seems more like a story of the romantic adventures of a
dissolute nobleman and his disgrace. However, there is much more to Don Giovanni than just a series
of events and serious laughs, just as the protagonist is much more than a notorious, single minded, and
unprincipled seducer. Closer examination of the piece reveals its core themes of social classes and
divisions as depicted by Leporello s complaints about his servitude to his employer in the first scene
(Mozart, Fisher, Ponte, 2007). The play also touches on vital human traits and principles, including
loyalty, faithfulness, and sincerity. More importantly, Don Giovanni centers on the ambiguity intrinsic
to human relations, the intricate connection between life and death, and the interminable tension
between love and the risk of its extermination.
Don Giovanni can be characterized as a comic opera due to its indulgence with tragic themes, such as
crime and murder, in an astoundingly funny manner. By definition, an opera is an art form in which
the composers combine dramatic works with musical scores and libretto or text in theatrical settings.
The singing may be either melodic or recitative. Traditionally, operas incorporate most of the typical
elements of spoken theatre, including

The Practices Of Earnings Management
From my point of view, I believe that the different practices of earnings management are misleading to
the stakeholders, and it aims at increasing or decreasing the reported earnings based on the executive
decisions and what would serve their position in the market.
This drives us to ask who the users of the company s financial statements are. Those are the parties
that rely on financial statements for decision making. And they are summarized in the following
groups: Employees, Customers, Supplies, Creditors, Shareholders, Financial analysts, Stock
underwriters and Regulators.
Why earnings management may occur

Yet, if something is legal (since GAAP permits many accounting choices) and is profitable for the
company, then some people might assume it is ethical. While on the other hand, I believe that when
carrying out a business decision it should be taken into considerations all its ethical aspects in addition
to its profitability and legibility aspects.
Thus, in my opinion earnings management does not meet the ethical requirements of an executive job.
To ensure that the executives or managers performance and decisions are in line with professional
ethics, we must see whether their decision implementations would have negative effect on others. And
in this case it is clearly affecting financial statement users.
How earnings management might affect the firm itself?
Earnings management is not effective on the short term as it will not increase the firm s profits, they
may even worsen the enterprises operating difficulties if the executive decisions were not efficient or
if they were not accurate in their expectations and anticipation of the future earnings.
The earnings management opportunities might affect the firm future performance because the
executive would be willing to sacrifice future cash flows for current period income.

Challenges of Religious Pluralism Essay
For centuries, religion in America has been more of a family affair. What this means is that despite the
different groupings, almost all major religions have been united under the same American experience.
Almost all the main religious denominations have been required to conform to the dictates of
Protestantism. Maybe this has been derived from the belief that almost all of these groupings have
been responsible for shaping America as we know it today. However, many things have happened in
the past few decades to change the way religions have been conducting themselves. One theme that
has overly changed over the years is that of pluralism. For many years, America has been a haven of
different groupings of people. The British immigration ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This philosopher incorporated the grouping of Aristotle in to Christianity. According to this law, all
important human principles have a proper reason that is dictated by nature. An example of this is
sexual intercourse whose main goal is procreation. The church has repeatedly fought the use of
contraceptives as a means of family planning arguing that it contravenes Gods purpose of procreation.
To devout Catholics, this is a sign of immorality and should therefore be fought by all people of good
will. Influence from outside has caused scholars in the church to question such things as sexuality in
its different forms. This has called the church to realize, that society has changed and that there is need
for the church to change too. Another area where the Catholic Church has modified its activities to suit
European notions is on the issue of penance. Traditionally, the practice was administered on a very
personal basis. In the process of penitents, those seeking forgiveness, would kneel in a specially made
box known as the confessional. Usually, this box consisted of screens that divided the priest and the
penitent. This was meant to create an air of anonymity between the two. The priest would then order
the penitent to offer a set of prayer or observe other religious rituals for the forgiveness to take effect.
However, over the years, people have criticized this move as too impersonal. This practice has been
modified and today the practice

The Parable Of The Cave
The stories we read can teach us many things. We can learn lessons from such stories can make us
better people by teaching how others have learned from their successes and failures. Many examples
of such successes and failures which are discovered in Plato s story, The Parable of the Cave, and
Genesis chapter of the The Old Testament. Those involved in these stories learn valuable lessons in
these stories, both in a similar way, yet with different outcomes. Even with these different outcome,
everyone involved are taught in similar fashion, by learning one concept after another, until they were

follower named, Glaucon. Socrates wants to talk about those who are enlightened or unenlightened,
about looking past your own scope or view on your life, to expand your mind. In order for Socrates to
get his point across he needs to set examples for Glaucon. Firstly, he starts his story of prisoners in
chains, where they are unable to move since childhood, followed by the effects that would occur if set

The Five Competitive Strategies For Wal Mart
Five Competitive Strategies
The five generic competitive strategies are low cost provider, broad differentiation, focused low cost,
focused differentiation strategy, and best cost provider strategy. According to the textbook, a company
s competitive strategy deals exclusively with the specifics of management s game plan for competing
successfully (Gamble, 93).
The main objective of a low cost provider is to achieve a lower overall cost than its main competitors
and rivals by means of underpricing (Gamble, 93). This is also known as price advantage in order to
attract customers. Companies that use this strategy will achieve high sales volumes while striving for
low cost margins. For example, Wal Mart is known to have considerable low prices that attract a broad
spectrum of customers. People who shop at Wal Mart are familiar with their Rollback Prices which
focus on the idea of everyday low prices that are sold at a far cheaper rate than its main competitors.
They are able to sustain these prices because of a successful supply chain market. Many of the
products they sell are from foreign and domestic markets that focus on a lower price demand. This
allows Wal Mart to sell their products at lower prices at a high volume. Basically, they buy a huge
quantity in volume in order to achieve a lower price to gain a higher profit.
The second company that also uses a low cost strategy is McDonald s. The Golden Arches is a well

What Is The Importance Of Japanese Culture
The world is full of different cultures. It is so interesting to study the different ways people live their
lives. Cultures are so diverse that normal habits done on a regular basis in one culture may be
considered taboo in another culture. This essay will discuss how the Japanese culture differs from my
culture, and it will also examine the importance of studying another culture.
First, I want to cover some of the major differences between the Japanese culture and my own, and
then get to some of the smaller differences. The first major difference is the religion; Buddhism and
Shintoism make up 84% of the Japanese religion. The item that intrigued me was the fact that religion
in Japan is more of a set of rules and rituals to follow now and then. There is not much daily
involvement in religion like there is in America; whether it is Christian, Catholic, or Muslin, each
religion involves prayer and worship to a certain degree on more of daily or weekly basis. Next, the
Japanese food is much different. Most Japanese meals have rice in some form or another and the
Japanese generally eat with chopsticks. When eating at a restaurant there are many differences to
consider. A wet towel is given to a customer when he is first seated at a restaurant to wash his hands.
When sushi is the meal it is acceptable to eat use hands and not chop sticks. When eating noodles, it is
acceptable to make slurping noises. When you are finished with your meal it is not expected that you

Research on the Effects and Causes of Global Warming Essay

whether or not climate change is real. Not only is it real, it s here, and its effects are giving rise to a

What could be causing these extreme weather patterns? Scientists say that it is the gradual increase of

With these extra gases in the atmosphere, more solar radiation is captured and reflected back down to
the earth s surface (Energy and the Environment). This is the problem that the world has made and
now we need to find the solution to this. There are many gases that are emitted into the atmosphere
that implicate the acceleration and poutiness of the greenhouse effect. These gases are called the
greenhouse gases; they are all a natural part of the atmosphere, but because of human interaction they
are increasing drastically. They are: carbon dioxide, water vapor, methane, nitrous oxide, hydro
fluorocarbons, per fluorocarbon, and sulfur hexafluoride, these seven gases are aiding in the
acceleration of global warming (Energy and the Environment). Carbon dioxide is a gas made up of
one carbon and two oxygen atoms; when infrared radiation enters the molecule it begins to shake
rapidly thus shooting radiation back out towards the earth (The Greenhouse Effect). When this occurs
the molecule is empty again and is allowed to have another greenhouse gas emitted into it; this cycle
is called the absorption emission absorption cycle (The Greenhouse Effect). This cycle is a main
attributor to the heating up of the earth s surface. The other six of the main greenhouse gases go
through this cycle and with all of these gases absorbing and reemitting radiation back towards the
earth the radiation levels have increased drastically. The

Competition between Dr. Who and Supernatural
In choosing between aliens and supernatural beings, the decision might be too difficult to make. But
when it comes to choosing between Doctor Who and Supernatural , Supernatural is the better of the
two. While both shows are good, Supernatural has more complexity of characters, a better soundtrack,
and presents conflicts better. To evaluate whether a show is worth losing my social life, I like to take
into consideration some factors of the show. The first and most important criterion is the characters. A
show s characters are supposed to be complex, not one dimensional characters that only serve one
purpose. Another criterion is if the soundtrack heightens the show s enjoyability. A show needs to have
a good soundtrack to enhance the show. The last criterion I use to evaluate a tv series is the way the
conflicts are presented. The conflicts are supposed to be connected but not be repetitive; if they are too
alike then the viewer will get bored. In Supernatural, the characters are better developed than in
Doctor Who; for example, Jo Harvelle. While in most shows a girl like Jo would have been portrayed
like someone who only thinks about boys, fashion, and other girly things, Supernatural does not
portrayed her like that. In Supernatural , Jo was first introduced as a rebellious teenager who is always
arguing with her mom, Ellen Harvelle, about her future. But unlike other shows, Ellen and Jo do not

This paper reflects on knowledge gained through direct observation during the first part of the
Strength Based Approaches Module. The ability to reflect is widely agreed to improve performance,
manifested through analysing on strengths and the development of competence (Gibbs, 1988).
Throughout this log, there will be a demonstration of how this approach has enabled me to work
effectively with young people and families in order to help them overcome a whole range of
difficulties by assisting them identify their achievements as well as strengths.
Traditionally, my knowledge of child development and ways of working with clients has always been
influenced by psychiatric and psychological knowledge. Though this can be useful, it can also be
problem based as it categorises the clients and their needs (Milner and Bateman 2011).
Having had a problem based approach, this made it challenging and difficult for me in the first two
sessions. However, having carefully observed, as a result of this I have started to gain interest in the
solution focused approaches due to its brief nature and how much it focuses on solutions rather than
the actual problem.
In session three, this week I was able to notice the importance of this approach as we were put in
groups of three, me being the interviewer and the other two being the interviewee and a consultant.

  • 2. Single Sex Instruction Is An Old Approach That Is... Single sex instruction is an old approach that is increasing new force. While single sex instruction has since a long time ago existed in numerous non public schools, it s a moderately new choice for state funded schools. The National Association for Single Sex Public Education gauges that around 400 government funded schools now offer some type of single sex training. What is filling this development? What s more, what are the dangers and advantages of single sex training? A main impetus in the single sex training development is late research demonstrating regular contrasts in how guys and females learn. Putting this examination into practice, in any case, has set off a level headed discussion that develops past unadulterated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Presenting the defense for single sex training The individuals who advocate for single sex training in government funded schools contend that: Ad Some guardians don t need their kids to be in blended sexual orientation classrooms in light of the fact that, particularly at specific ages, understudies of the inverse sex can be a diversion. Leonard Sax and others concur that simply setting young men in isolated classrooms from young ladies achieves little. Be that as it may, single sex training upgrades understudy achievement when educators use procedures intended for the sex of their understudies. Some examination demonstrates that young ladies learn better when classroom temperature is warm, while young men perform better in cooler classrooms. On the off chance that that is valid, then the temperature in a solitary sex classroom could be set to streamline the learning of either male or female understudies. Some exploration and reports from teachers propose that solitary sex training can widen the instructive prospects for both young ladies and young men. Advocates claim co ed schools have a tendency to strengthen sexual ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Theories Of The Great Man Theory Great man theory This theory evolved around the 19th century, and was originally proposed by Thomas Carlyle. The great man theory is basically assuming that, only an individual that was born with greatness is indeed great. The focus on great leaders were limited to only men, as women were not seen as leaders in any way. Leaders are born and not made (leadership theories). From this statement, Thomas Carlyle is making it clear that a person cannot be made a great leader by any extrinsic means, but it must be intrinsic traits of leadership that this person was born with, that can enable him to become a great leader. Great leaders will arise when there is a great need (leadership theories). By this, Carlyle meant that you may see a great leader every day without even knowing that this person is a great leader, but as soon as the need arises for a great leader you will then recognize the individual that was gifted to be the great leader in completing that specific task. This theory ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This leadership theory argues that there is no specific way of leading, rather a leadership style should be based on the situation. This means that when a person is set to lead, they will perform at maximum level, however as soon as they are taken out of their element this level of performance may fall. Also, a leadership style that worked well in one situation may not work well in another situation and so it s based on how a leader adjust in various situations. To a certain extent contingency leadership theories are an extension of the trait theory, in the sense that human traits are related to the situation in which the leaders exercise their leadership. (leadership theories). I agree with this statement, since an individual in leadership mode would indeed possess better characteristic traits than when they are not leading. This theory also assumed that leaders are more likely to express their leadership when they feel that their followers will be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Comparing Fletcher And Nieman J.K. Simmons plays the brilliant sadist, Terence Fletcher who will do anything to unlock his student s potential and push them past the limits of what s expected. Fletcher gives no pats on the back or words of encouragement, he picks even the most minuscule mistakes that his students make especially Nieman, and uses it to beat them with a burst of vulgar tirades, in which you can t help but chuckle at some comments. His abusive and manipulative behavior seeds out the weak in his military like orchestra so students can dedicate themselves to practicing and achieving ultimate greatness. Fletcher and Nieman are both perfectionist and driven by music and greatness. There are no two words in the English language more harmful than good job . Fletcher ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The story is not only told through character development but editing of suspense and manic energy. Most of the film is either synchronized edited through the music or traditional edits. Shots rhythmically change based on the music beats and changes. Fast paced cutting and action of instruments of music are made like music videos to keep scenes visually interesting. The film also becomes even more heated up for example, when Fletcher slaps Nieman, the camera is close up and jumps eyeliner with every hit making the moment visually disorientating. A slight camera shake is also visible when the scene climaxes and enhances rumbling moments in scenes. Slow motion is used when Nieman is confident and relaxed, in order to glorify his self assurance before it gets crushed by fletchers teaching. But there are slow traditional scenes throughout the movie, for example when Andrew is with Nicole the editing is long with no fast cuts to keep a gentle romantic tone between the characters. Tom Cross uses a lot of cut to the beat, quick editing but also shows traditional edits to keep you on your toes and ultimately give the movie it s feeling of uncertainty and spontaneity which enhances the themes underlining the ... • 5. Basic Legal Contract Principles For A Contract The above scenario is difficult to analyse due to there being no executed contract documentation to review such as a specification or terms and conditions to base a recommendation upon. Basic legal contract principles should therefore be applied to establish if a contract was in place, if it had been breached, along with potential remedies applied to each party. To identify if there was a breach of contract between John (the client) and Chris (the Contractor) it is key to establish if there was a legally binding contract in place. In order for a contract to be deemed legally binding , it must abide by three key elements which are offer, consideration and acceptance. The sum of £6,000 was offered for the service and subsequently agreed consideration completed by Chris whom accepted. With the capacity of both directors, including intent from both parties to carry out their promise, a contract was formed. As part of the contract negotiations £1,000 was paid in advance to Chris, without any identified agreed terms and conditions. Advanced payments in contracts such as these are typically used to purchase the materials required to undertake the work. It is to be assumed that the £1,000 advanced payment was used to purchase the paint required to carry out the works. The remaining £5,000 was due to Chris once the works were completed to a satisfactory level. When agreeing to the terms of the contract, John clearly sets a requirement of the works being satisfactory. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Viktor demonstrated all three methods which was fascinating. These popular devices were inspired in the nineteenth century by Peter Mark Roget s theory of visual persistence, which held that our eyes retain an image for a fraction of a second, permitting a series of still images to become fused as a moving image. Another way to break down movements into a series of still pictures is a so called video flipbook . A flipbook is the simplest way of making a sequence of still pictures appears to move. The intervals of darkness necessary for the illusion of motion are provided by the turn, or flip of each page. The nineteenth century photographic experiments of Eadweard Muybridge and Etienne Jules Marey broke down the movements of animals into a series of still pictures. When displayed in rapid succession, these pictures appear to be moving, recreating the original motion that the images document. Moving further in the exhibition, we looked at Brooklyn based artist Gregory Barsamian s kinetic sculptures animate three dimensional objects in real time. He called it Feral Fount which is a physical representation of a dream he had in which drops of water from his kitchen faucet transformed into a bomb, and then a paper airplane before crashing into his dishpan. • 8. Tom And Bob Can Appoint Carl As A Replacement For Tom The first issue is whether Tom and Bob can appoint Carl as a replacement for Tom. In order to execute this function, it must first be determined whether Tom and Bob are still legitimate trustees given their current circumstances. The appointment of trustees will be made where a new trust is created either inter vivos or by will; and during the continuance for an existing trust whereby one trustee may seek to retire. On the death of a trustee, the remnants are given to the survivors to carry on the trust. Section 18(1) of the Trustee Act 1925 (UK) provides that where a power or trust is given to or imposed on two or more trustees jointly, the same may be exercised or performed by the survivors or survivor of them for the time being. Further, s. 48 (1) of the Trinidad and Tobago Trustee Act provides that the appointment of a new trustee are outside of the realms of a court and the execution is done by persons expressed in the trust instrument , or by the surviving trustees or by the survivor s personal representative. Thus, Tom and Bob may have the power under the common law or Trinidadian statute to appoint Carl. However, there may also be the sub issue of whether Tom has the competence to make the appointment of a new trustee. Section 10 (1) of the Trustee Act states that where a trustee, either original or substituted, and whether appointed by a Court or otherwise, is dead, or remains out of this Island for more than twelve months, or ... The concept of an Intelligent Hospital™ started in 2009 as an initiative from the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) in Health Care Consortium (Frisch, 2014). Its purpose was to promote and seamlessly combine education and technology into an environment that can enhance patient care by having live demonstrations utilizing the latest technology. Five different types of hospital rooms including ICU (as seen in the video), emergency department, cardiology suite, labor and delivery and a step down unit were featured in the Intelligent Hospital™ Pavilion along with an intelligent pharmacy. The first type of technology mentioned in this video to provide the proper environment in the ICU and used in the ICU at the Intelligent Hospital™ was Switchable Privacy Glass, also known as eGlass. eGlass provides privacy for the patient along with infection control compared to curtains or double pane glass improving patient s ICU experience. eGlass can be easily switched from clear to opaque white. Print, pp 1 246 In a renowned examination to approach religion as a sociological study, respected scholars Robert D. Putnam and David E. Campbell trek through the social history of our nation over the past few decades and the affects that have consequently or thankfully been left on religious institutions. While the authors explore detailed cultural developments, America s religiosity and diversity is examined through comprehensive surveys and empirical analysis. As society began to expand under this foundation, women became increasingly more respected and their presence was accepted into various social realms that previously were not inviting for women. On the list of newly acceptable places for women to thrive is the workplace, which is another affect of the rise of women in religion according to our authors. Putnam and Campbell claim that these are interrelated because it was a social change that happened simultaneously, but the authors continue by giving little example to what sort of revolutionary changes happened to women inside of the churches. This brings the validity of their conclusion regarding cultural development and religion to question: did the authors uncover correlation, or are they over generalizing causation for the sake of the argument? Other experts have questioned the correlation as well, as Wallstreet journalist Wilfred McClay goes it say: In matters of sexuality, they offer a surprisingly crude formulation that reflects the authors rather coercive brand of moderation: The polarization of the past five decades on sexual matters has come about because libertines and prudes have successively provoked one another. I believe that it is simply not realistic to speak of eliminating all piracy, as there will always be at least a small segment of the population who can t be deterred from stealing others ideas and creativity. Instead, what we can and should strive for is the reduction of piracy to the lowest levels possible; levels that will not rob authors and copyright owners of the incentive to create and distribute their works. I believe that this could be accomplished through a two step copyright protection program of: 1) crafting a proper legal framework and 2) the adequate and proper implementation of the said framework. The legal framework provides the basic rights to copyright owners and establishes procedures for the enforcement of those rights. Those procedures must provide the opportunity to obtain adequate remedies when those rights are violated as well as the possibility of punitive monetary judgments and, in appropriate cases, imprisonment of the infringer. The second part of this copyright protection program is the application of these legal rules to ensure that copyright owners have actual, effective protection against infringement of their rights. 5. Causes Of Forbidden Love In Romeo And Juliet Essay The cause of forbidden love and death The play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, is about a boy and a girl that come from two feuding families and find themself with forbidden love and getting controlled by anger and ending up in death. There are many themes that are shown in the play, but one that stuck out to me is how anger is controlling and can make you do things you d never do, the anger between the two families is mysterious and misleading and the cause of their tragic death. Their families happen to be very controlling of who they marry and who they fall in love with. In the beginning the families are fighting and we see anger as something the families think is healthy and it s just a little rivalry until it affects something as big as someone s life. In this quote we can understand at this point in the story Shakespeare sees anger as something misleading and anger can blind you and let your emotions go until it makes you do stupid things without thinking about it. Based on the way Shakespeare words this quote, we see that anger has clearly taken control over the couple, Romeo is banned from the city, which is where Juliet his wife lives. Romeo is now going to Friar Laurence because he s been banned. Juliet is really confused and does not want to be forced to marry Paris and would rather die. • 15. The Use Of Corporal Punishment In Schools All across the US corporal punishment is being given to students as a method of discipline. Corporal punishment is infliction of pain as a punishment for an offense. Corporal punishment is legal in 19 states in school and at home That means that the government is allowing students to suffer just so they can learn a lesson. Corporal punishment does not belong in schools because it can hurt students emotionally/mentally, it shows students discrimination, and can harm students physically. When a child is hit by a teacher, it can harm them emotionally short and long term. The use of corporal punishment in schools can make a child more aggressive, defiant, and oppositional (Dupper, CP in US Public Schools). By hitting a student, the teacher is thinking they are teaching them a lesson but really they are setting them up to be more defiant once more and be hit again. It is a vicious cycle that will never end until the student is damaged for the rest of their life. Teachers hit kids because they think it will help them out in the long run but really it can lead to a number of different things such as anxiety, hostility, depression, aggression against authorities, teachers, and property. In the teachers mind they are preventing this student from acting out again but really they can come back and destroy school property. Also, the teacher may believe that because they hit this student the student will become a better person but really it makes them so much worse. Lastly, corporal punishment can affect a student s self image and weaken their social skills (Rollins, Revisiting the Issue). When a student is hit, they think less of themselves because they believe that the reason they were hit is because they are lesser than everyone else. They also could stop making new friends and become socially awkward because they are afraid that everyone will not be their friend just because others were not nice. Teachers do not understand the consequences that a student must face when he or she is hit by them. Some people may say that they can go to therapy and get better but most likely the student will still have permanent emotional damage. Observation, often defined as the action or process of watching something or someone to gain information. Throughout the semester, I chose to observe at the following programs: Breakaway at Westridge Church, Poole Elementary School s Learning Bridge, and AWANA at Callie Harbin Baptist Church. Justification by faith means that those who truly share a belief in God are saved by him. During the biblical period, it was commonly thought that our pending salvation was dependent on our ability to obey the laws given to the chosen people, those whom were believed to be chosen by God. For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: The righteous will live by faith. (Romans 1:16 17) This substantiates the belief that you cannot repair your relationship with God solely through your good deeds; it is instead accomplished through faith in Jesus Christ and all of His wondrous works. One may question how man can be justified if we are all born into sin. Paul answers this question in (Romans 3:21 31), stating that men can be justified in the God s eyes through their faith in Jesus Christ. An observant reader of the Bible may take note of how many times Paul mentions faith in this section. God did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus. (Romans 3:26) One can imagine the Jewish reaction to this declaration since their beliefs stem only from Old Testament teachings and justification was based on being a Jew, circumcision, and the Law of Moses; not through faith in Jesus Christ. Paul anticipates their objection when he asks, Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather, we uphold the law. (Romans 3:31) Here, Paul is concluding that it is through our preaching that men are justified by their faith in Jesus Christ and are confirming the law. The piece is based on the legend of Don Juan, an illusory libertine and seducer of women (Kerns, 2010). At first, Mozart s opera seems more like a story of the romantic adventures of a dissolute nobleman and his disgrace. However, there is much more to Don Giovanni than just a series of events and serious laughs, just as the protagonist is much more than a notorious, single minded, and unprincipled seducer. Closer examination of the piece reveals its core themes of social classes and divisions as depicted by Leporello s complaints about his servitude to his employer in the first scene (Mozart, Fisher, Ponte, 2007). The play also touches on vital human traits and principles, including loyalty, faithfulness, and sincerity. More importantly, Don Giovanni centers on the ambiguity intrinsic to human relations, the intricate connection between life and death, and the interminable tension between love and the risk of its extermination. Don Giovanni can be characterized as a comic opera due to its indulgence with tragic themes, such as crime and murder, in an astoundingly funny manner. Maybe this has been derived from the belief that almost all of these groupings have been responsible for shaping America as we know it today. An example of this is sexual intercourse whose main goal is procreation. The church has repeatedly fought the use of contraceptives as a means of family planning arguing that it contravenes Gods purpose of procreation. To devout Catholics, this is a sign of immorality and should therefore be fought by all people of good will. Influence from outside has caused scholars in the church to question such things as sexuality in its different forms. This has called the church to realize, that society has changed and that there is need for the church to change too. Another area where the Catholic Church has modified its activities to suit European notions is on the issue of penance. Traditionally, the practice was administered on a very personal basis. In the process of penitents, those seeking forgiveness, would kneel in a specially made box known as the confessional. Usually, this box consisted of screens that divided the priest and the penitent. This was meant to create an air of anonymity between the two. The priest would then order the penitent to offer a set of prayer or observe other religious rituals for the forgiveness to take effect. However, over the years, people have criticized this move as too impersonal. This practice has been modified and today the practice ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. The Parable Of The Cave The stories we read can teach us many things. We can learn lessons from such stories can make us better people by teaching how others have learned from their successes and failures. Many examples of such successes and failures which are discovered in Plato s story, The Parable of the Cave, and Genesis chapter of the The Old Testament. Those involved in these stories learn valuable lessons in these stories, both in a similar way, yet with different outcomes. Even with these different outcome, everyone involved are taught in similar fashion, by learning one concept after another, until they were able to comprehend fully. In Plato s, The Parable of the Cave, Socrates is talking with a young follower named, Glaucon. Socrates wants to talk about those who are enlightened or unenlightened, about looking past your own scope or view on your life, to expand your mind. In order for Socrates to get his point across he needs to set examples for Glaucon. Firstly, he starts his story of prisoners in chains, where they are unable to move since childhood, followed by the effects that would occur if set free. Socrates uses questions in order to engage Glaucon to teach him his principles of his theory. For example, And if they were able to converse with one another, would they not suppose that they were naming what was actually before them? (Literature of the Western World Pg. 1197) Also, when Socrates is talking about the prisoner being removed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Emotional Therapy When a child is diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), the parents face numerous questions about what that means for their child s life. With a growing prevalence rate of ASD, many parents face the similar struggle in determining what type of treatment will provide the best outcomes for their child. Two popular treatment choices are applied behavioral analysis (ABA) and skills training. According to the National Institute of Mental Health (2017), ASD is a group of developmental disorders that impacts 1 in 68 children and includes a spectrum of symptoms, skills, and levels of disability. Individuals with ASD may face challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, language and communication, and learn differently than ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They hypothesized that the behavioral treatment group would have better outcomes after one year when compared to those in an equally intensive, eclectic special education treatment group. The study consisted of 25 children age four to seven who had a diagnosis of childhood autism from both the Autism Diagnostic Interview and an independent child clinical psychologist within six months of the start of the study. All participants had an IQ at or above 50 on the Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence Revised (WPPSI R) and the Bayley Scales of Infant Development Revised (BSID R). A person in the field of ASD research, who was independent of the study, then assigned the children to either the behavioral treatment or eclectic treatment. Both groups received treatment in public elementary schools and were assigned to a special education teacher and at least one aide. The groups averaged 28.52 hours per week of treatment at school. The children assigned to the behavioral treatment had an emphasis on the implementation of experimentally validated teaching approaches based on operant conditioning principles such as shaping, chaining, discrimination training, and contingency management, (Eikeseth et al., 2002). In the eclectic treatment, children received individualized intervention that utilized ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. The Five Competitive Strategies For Wal Mart Five Competitive Strategies The five generic competitive strategies are low cost provider, broad differentiation, focused low cost, focused differentiation strategy, and best cost provider strategy. According to the textbook, a company s competitive strategy deals exclusively with the specifics of management s game plan for competing successfully (Gamble, 93). The main objective of a low cost provider is to achieve a lower overall cost than its main competitors and rivals by means of underpricing (Gamble, 93). This is also known as price advantage in order to attract customers. Companies that use this strategy will achieve high sales volumes while striving for low cost margins. For example, Wal Mart is known to have considerable low prices that attract a broad spectrum of customers. People who shop at Wal Mart are familiar with their Rollback Prices which focus on the idea of everyday low prices that are sold at a far cheaper rate than its main competitors. They are able to sustain these prices because of a successful supply chain market. Many of the products they sell are from foreign and domestic markets that focus on a lower price demand. This allows Wal Mart to sell their products at lower prices at a high volume. Basically, they buy a huge quantity in volume in order to achieve a lower price to gain a higher profit. The second company that also uses a low cost strategy is McDonald s. The Golden Arches is a well known brand name across the world. Although ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. What Is The Importance Of Japanese Culture The world is full of different cultures. It is so interesting to study the different ways people live their lives. Cultures are so diverse that normal habits done on a regular basis in one culture may be considered taboo in another culture. This essay will discuss how the Japanese culture differs from my culture, and it will also examine the importance of studying another culture. First, I want to cover some of the major differences between the Japanese culture and my own, and then get to some of the smaller differences. The first major difference is the religion; Buddhism and Shintoism make up 84% of the Japanese religion. The item that intrigued me was the fact that religion in Japan is more of a set of rules and rituals to follow now and then. There is not much daily involvement in religion like there is in America; whether it is Christian, Catholic, or Muslin, each religion involves prayer and worship to a certain degree on more of daily or weekly basis. Next, the Japanese food is much different. Most Japanese meals have rice in some form or another and the Japanese generally eat with chopsticks. When eating at a restaurant there are many differences to consider. A wet towel is given to a customer when he is first seated at a restaurant to wash his hands. When sushi is the meal it is acceptable to eat use hands and not chop sticks. When eating noodles, it is acceptable to make slurping noises. When you are finished with your meal it is not expected that you tip the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Research on the Effects and Causes of Global Warming Essay All across the world, in every kind of environment and region known to man, increasingly dangerous weather patterns and devastating storms are abruptly putting an end to the long running debate over whether or not climate change is real. Not only is it real, it s here, and its effects are giving rise to a frighteningly new global phenomenon: the man made natural disaster (Barack Obama, April 3, 2006). What could be causing these extreme weather patterns? Scientists say that it is the gradual increase of the temperature over the entire earth. Global warming is the increase in the average temperature all over the earth. Global Warming is a major problem in the world today and is argued among all of the world leaders. I am going to talk ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With these extra gases in the atmosphere, more solar radiation is captured and reflected back down to the earth s surface (Energy and the Environment). This is the problem that the world has made and now we need to find the solution to this. There are many gases that are emitted into the atmosphere that implicate the acceleration and poutiness of the greenhouse effect. These gases are called the greenhouse gases; they are all a natural part of the atmosphere, but because of human interaction they are increasing drastically. They are: carbon dioxide, water vapor, methane, nitrous oxide, hydro fluorocarbons, per fluorocarbon, and sulfur hexafluoride, these seven gases are aiding in the acceleration of global warming (Energy and the Environment). Carbon dioxide is a gas made up of one carbon and two oxygen atoms; when infrared radiation enters the molecule it begins to shake rapidly thus shooting radiation back out towards the earth (The Greenhouse Effect). When this occurs the molecule is empty again and is allowed to have another greenhouse gas emitted into it; this cycle is called the absorption emission absorption cycle (The Greenhouse Effect). This cycle is a main attributor to the heating up of the earth s surface. The other six of the main greenhouse gases go through this cycle and with all of these gases absorbing and reemitting radiation back towards the earth the radiation levels have increased drastically. • 37. Competition between Dr. Who and Supernatural In choosing between aliens and supernatural beings, the decision might be too difficult to make. But when it comes to choosing between Doctor Who and Supernatural , Supernatural is the better of the two. While both shows are good, Supernatural has more complexity of characters, a better soundtrack, and presents conflicts better. To evaluate whether a show is worth losing my social life, I like to take into consideration some factors of the show. The first and most important criterion is the characters. A show s characters are supposed to be complex, not one dimensional characters that only serve one purpose. Another criterion is if the soundtrack heightens the show s enjoyability. A show needs to have a good soundtrack to enhance the show. The last criterion I use to evaluate a tv series is the way the conflicts are presented. The conflicts are supposed to be connected but not be repetitive; if they are too alike then the viewer will get bored. In Supernatural, the characters are better developed than in Doctor Who; for example, Jo Harvelle. While in most shows a girl like Jo would have been portrayed like someone who only thinks about boys, fashion, and other girly things, Supernatural does not portrayed her like that. In Supernatural , Jo was first introduced as a rebellious teenager who is always arguing with her mom, Ellen Harvelle, about her future. But unlike other shows, Ellen and Jo do not argue about whom Jo marries; they argue about whether Jo ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Strength Based Approaches With Children, Young People And... Strength Based Approaches with children, young people and families. Elzia Kabengele Student ID: B1042280 Word Count: 1650 This paper reflects on knowledge gained through direct observation during the first part of the Strength Based Approaches Module. The ability to reflect is widely agreed to improve performance, manifested through analysing on strengths and the development of competence (Gibbs, 1988). Throughout this log, there will be a demonstration of how this approach has enabled me to work effectively with young people and families in order to help them overcome a whole range of difficulties by assisting them identify their achievements as well as strengths. Traditionally, my knowledge of child development and ways of working with clients has always been influenced by psychiatric and psychological knowledge. Though this can be useful, it can also be problem based as it categorises the clients and their needs (Milner and Bateman 2011). Having had a problem based approach, this made it challenging and difficult for me in the first two sessions. However, having carefully observed, as a result of this I have started to gain interest in the solution focused approaches due to its brief nature and how much it focuses on solutions rather than the actual problem. In session three, this week I was able to notice the importance of this approach as we were put in groups of three, me being the interviewer and the other two being the interviewee and a consultant. • 39. Lust s Body Count Deyoung Analysis Before reading Rebecca Konyndyk DeYoung s chapter on lust, my view on the effects of lust were very different. In the section entitled, Lust s Body Count, DeYoung says, We often live with lust s collateral damage for the long term (DeYoung, 171). Thus, I agree with DeYoung that the aftermath of lusting is more a long term and widespread problem than it appears on the surface. Initially, I always thought of lust being an internal sin that did not really affect anyone outside of the individual partaking in the lustful activities, but DeYoung has changed my mind about that. I think part of the problem with my former belief is that the first act that comes to mind is pornography. I think that pornography generally just has consequences for ...
