Cp Snow The Two Cultures Analysis
The Two Cultures, which was originally a lecture by C.P. Snow, Shows the how Snow sees the
split of the Humanities and Sciences and how that it could harm the growth of the world. From
what I have gathered Snow believes that the world is run by those who are educated in the
humanities and even says that they are behaving like a state whose power is rapidly declining .
That those who are in command are more worried about keeping afloat than trying to expand. Snow
though also show how much he supports the disciplines and wished for the two to begin to work
together more. Snow thought that if the sciences and humanities did not work together for progress
it could lead to the doom of not only England but the entirety of western civilization.

The Influence Of Puritans In New England
Puritanism a product of the protestant reformation was founded on the belief that only those who
have felt the presence of god should be given church membership. The Puritans beliefs strongly
conflicted with the religious systems of England, causing them to search for a new home. The
Pilgrims, being some of the first to leave England, traveled to holland for a 12 span and then
eventually docked at Plymouth Bay in New England. Being outside of the Virginia Company s
territory their permission to settle was void, but settle they did. Following the pilgrims lead, in 1630
close to one thousand puritans sailed the Atlantic to escape persecution and settle in the new world.
Due to a population comprised mainly of Puritans, The New England colonies were founded upon
religious values. The Puritans religious beliefs caused them to set up a government built upon the
church and to be xenophobic to non Puritans, but were ultimately the key to their colonies success.

Fire Department Pros Analysis
Introduction
After several years of a hiring freeze, the Fire Department(FD) is seeking to expand its firefighting
personnel ranks by recruiting approximately 1000 candidates to be eventually hired. Currently, the
Fire Department is predominantly male Caucasian of either Irish or Italian descent in a long history
of dedicated fire fighters which goes back generations. Contrastingly, a significant number of
minorities have been unable to meet the expectations of the FD s outdated recruitment practices
which lack standardized procedures hence, few minority (women, African Americans, Hispanics)
firefighters. Now, the city s estimated population is 1 million of which, about 30% are racial of
ethnic minorities (mainly African Americans and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Specifically, neutral policies or practices that unevenly or unfavorably effect any protected class
qualifies as employment discrimination (EEOC, n.d.).
In the past, women outperformed all candidates in exams despite failing the physical exams.
Ultimately, more white candidates dominated the civil service list from where appointments came
for years, the few minority candidates that passed never made the hiring list and women were have
never been hired. Based on the FD s statistics, there is compelling evidence indicative of both racial
and gender discrimination against racial minorities and women, in recruitment, testing, selection,
hiring and promotion to support the disparate impact theory (Guerin, n.d.). Therefore, as a
representative of the city, it is my recommendation that the FD cease and desist from sole use of
word of mouth recruitment and the continued use of flawed essay based exams as this would
prove a pattern of non compliance with EEOC along with potential legal recourse (U.S. Department
of Justice, 2015, p. 2).
Recruitment campaign improvement recommendations
The essay based questions should be developed by an independent party with assistance from both
city and Fire Commission representatives. Following a literature review section of an International
Association of Firefighters (IAFF) study, it was concluded that the best recruitment technique for
minority recruitment was targeted recruitment consisting of the following (Fox, Hornick,

Emergence Of A Global Trading Arena
Introduction
Emergence of revolution in the world led to globalization. Hitherto, people gain from massive
and healthy business trade across the borders (Lucas, 367). In this case, one country is able to
gain from selling or buying of goods. Moreover, countries realized the importance of creating a
global trading arena to encourage the produces from all economies through integration. In this
regard, people enjoyed from some exemptions that interfered with flow of goods and service across
borders. Despite the vast advantage that parties enjoy in this kind of trade, they face various
hurdles, which demoralize them as they perform their business transactions. For instance, changes
in the economic status in one of the countries result in reduction in value of goods. Likewise, some
traders may suffer due to high rates of taxation in the bordering countries.
Understanding the concept of cross border shopping
The presence of competition in the indirect tax within the export and import zones leads to the
creation of horizontal tax externalities. Vertical tax externalities may also arise between the central
and regional government. In most of the cases, both countries tend to maximize revenue through
tax collection through purchasing and selling of goods. One party may therefore set policies that
aim at in increasing tax collection (Lucas 369; Ballard and Lee 720). Besides, an understanding
cultivates from their works that the government may also balance the availability of

Code Of Hammurabi Natural Law
The Code of Hammurabi (~1780 BCE) is the first known preserved example of written law
which describes potential crimes and prescribed punishments (Code, 2017). Originating in the
Mesopotamian region, the codex serves as an edict and guide for the peoples of the region to
follow in the course of common civility within the larger society. The code was grounded in
commonly accepted principles of morality and ethics and provided a clear set of norms for all
members of society to live together in peace (Code, 2017, para 3). The Code of Hammurabi laid
the groundwork for the idea of jurisprudence in that; when the people know what is expected of
them and are made aware of the potential punishment in the event that declared potential crimes...

It is important to note that the Allies eventually established the laws and procedures for the
Nuremberg trials with the London Charter of the International Military Tribunal (IMT), issued on
August 8, 1945 (History, 2010, para 6). It was the IMT which, in a ex post facto manner, declared
under Article 6: Jurisdiction and General Principles, that the acts which fell under their purview
were those of Crimes against peace (a.), War crimes (b.), Crimes against humanity (c.) (Avalon,
2008). With the final surrender of Germany during WWII occurring on May 8, 1945 and the IMT
war crimes description being committed to writing a full three months to the day after the final
surrender of those who would be tried for said crimes, there is no conceivable way under the
positive law concept of Nullum crimen sine lege that the individuals being tried could have known
that the actions that they took prior to the establishment of the law, and during the course of the
war, would be punishable under an international war crimes court which did not exist at the time of
the actions. The intent of the IMF was to ensure that any individual, civilian or military who had
committed what the IMF considered to be humanitarian atrocities would be brought to judgment

Strategies For Raising Test Scores
This article is shows different strategies that a principal can use to help raise test scores in schools.
The strategies mentioned have been used by principals in the past and, therefore, have been
successful for schools. The authors mention six different strategies that can be helpful and certainly
fall along the lines of best practice. The strategies involved are analyzing test data, parents support
score raising efforts, constant monitoring of progress, looking at student work helps improve
teaching, practice tests all year, and good teaching is good teaching.
As I progress toward being a principal one day, I found myself with a need to figure out what to do
with test scores and how do you fix low scores. To be honest, I have not had a lot of time or
practice interpreting test scores and what those scores mean in the end. How to improve those
scores was even farther away from my thoughts? What the article brings for me is less of specific
strategies and more along the lines of good leadership for a school. I have been teaching for
eighteen years and can count on one hand the number of times I have been asked to interpret
test scores and figure out strategies to help. The last time I looked at Iowa Assessments was
about six years ago and I noticed a large gap in what we were teaching versus items that were on
the test. The result of that gap analysis was changing from a cultural approach to a much wider
spread history course. On top of that, we as a

A Study On The Strategy Estimation
The next strategic estimating method is to undertake the expert judgmental estimation since this
particular project estimation method is driven around taking expert opinion and by understanding
the strategic project requirements.
The results are fast since expert opinion is driven through various elements while accuracy of
estimations is not always certain due to project complexity. The experts are pooled from operations,
business and management team so as to drive the right level of estimation knowledge for any given
project as per the business strategic requirement. The expert judgment estimation is done for
relatively simple and repetitive projects so that there is not much data complexity.

Drives estimations on the basis of calculating average or better price from number of vendor bid.
The vendor bid analysis suits the need whenever all the material or resources are deployed from

uncertainties and risks through using a reserve pool of resources so as to do the best possible
performance deployment.
The reserve set of people enables managing the project since their cost can be relatively low and
able to drive the major project objectives and to meet strategic goals. This approach is used
whenever there is simple or less important project need to drive within controlled cost elements.

Argumentative Essay On Media And Religion
Modern times have changed lots of ways that we look at past institutions in America. During the
21st century, media and religion seem to play an important part in our society. Furthermore, the
combination of the two has created a dynamic series of positives and negatives. People might
argue that we have reached a time in our life where religion isn t important to follow or take note
of. However, time and time again it has been proving that religion and the media have an impact
on people s feelings towards a group and understanding of the group s theology. The famous
thinker and poet, W.E.B Du Bois wrote in his novel, The Souls of the Black Folk piece, Being a
problem is a strange experience (Bayoumi, page 2). This serves as an interesting induction to the
problem of media/ religion and Islam. Du bois, a pre civil rights leader, was discussing the idea of
being a problem in a society that should be home. The government, police, and citizens of
America are judging and creating standpoints off sources of media that are displaying
stereotypes and racist assumptions against the next group. Therefore, the struggle for peace,
identity, and a place called home in rooted in the Islamic people. Currently in the media, it has
been acceptable to have the opinion of Islamphobia or even xenophobia. We live in an age of
time where there is a striking sophistication in technology. With a click of a button and a few
words typed, one can access many facts and opinions on different groups of people. Unfortunately,
the inequities and prejudices that have affected the human race still continue to thrive in current
times. People are failing to change their look on people in this Great country we live in.
Especially during this new political climate, the untold stories of human suffering still tend to
exist. Historically, America has struggled with race relations and the full acknowledgement of
other people. According to Professor Michael Bartone at Central Connecticut State University,
unless you are a cisgender wealthy White Christian male, you have felt oppression, but maybe
unaware because one has been realized to believe they have power and are not oppressed or they

Effectiveness of Narcotics Anonymous for Adolescents
Drug addiction can be a powerful and complex situation for some individuals to gain control of.
Research and health professionals have historically shown that 12 step programs provide the tools
and healthy social networks that are immensely beneficial to achieving sobriety. However, prior
studies have largely focused on these programs effectiveness for adults, whereas younger
populations are also seeking treatment for drug addiction. This longitudinal study will have only
adolescent participants to enhance the minimal research that has been done on this population. It is
relevant to social work because the results of this study will help social workers to better
understand that Narcotics Anonymous may be more effective for some adolescents, namely those
with many positive social supports as compared to those with few positive social supports.

resources for themselves. This means inhabiting an off grid lifestyle makes one solely responsible
for supplying their energy, waste removal system and water supply system.
One resource that is essential to produce electricity is renewable energy. Providing one s own
energy consists of utilizing solar panels, wind turbines and micro hydroelectricity. Solar panels
absorb energy from the Sun to produce solar energy. A great number of people who live off the
grid use solar power. Wind turbines generate electrical power from the wind and functions in the

fascinatingly uses a source of running water, like a stream, to generate electricity (Dunn 3).
Between all three sources of renewable energy, micro hydroelectricity is the most efficient, reliable
and commonly used form.
Undoubtedly, the most important resource people work to provide for an off grid lifestyle is

Madness In Shakespeare s Hamlet
Madness is a condition in which is difficult to identify whether it is true or not. As in the encounter
of the ghost of Hamlet s father and Hamlet, Hamlet is asked to avenge his father s death. To
accomplish this task in a less apparent manner, Hamlet decides to put an antic disposition on.
Consequently, his behavior thereafter is frequently baffling. William Shakespeare, the writer of the
tragic play Hamletleaves the audience to decide whether Hamlet is truly mad or not. Throughout
Shakespeare s Hamlet, Hamlet s questionable madness is explored through his real madness,
feigned actions, and the reactions of others towards his madness.
In some instances, Hamlet s madness can be seen as real. For example, Hamlet states as he makes a

Hamlet uses his feigned madness to his advantage to insult Polonius indirectly by cleverly crafting
the subject of his book towards the explicit description of Polonius. Clearly, Hamlet s wit shows
that he has not lost his reason and is not mad. Another example of Hamlet s feigned madness is
Hamlet s communication with the ghost of his father while Gertrude is present. Gertrude, who
cannot see the ghost, tells Hamlet, No, nothing but ourselves...this the very coinage of your brain.

because she sees him talking to nothing. She thinks he is talking to himself. The audience knows
that Hamlet is not in fact mad, since the audience sees in the play that he is actually talking to the
ghost of his father.
Because of Hamlet s madness, there are the reactions of others. After Polonius is informed by
his daughter, Ophelia, of Hamlet s madness, Polonius immediately goes to King Claudius and
tells him he has the reason for Hamlet s madness. Gertrude responds, I doubt it no other but the

Typically, the accountant has a database that allows inserted data to yield statistical charts, graphs,
and other information with monetary trends of the company. This collection of data also allows
owners to solve various problems and improve processes within the company.
Data collected can be used for innumerable purposes. For instance, some owners utilize statistical
datum to forecast which of its customers is likely to cancel or reorder services provided. Data
can also be used for an owner to predict, a number of months in advance, when business will pick
up or recede (Croxton and Cowden 805). The statistical method of Chi square tests can be analyzed
using the formula

When using this test, careful data analysis must be used and one must ensure the sample size is
large enough to provide accuracy. Employing the use this statistical methods test can help
management determine the trends of desired information.

The Germ Theory
a)The first response of the germ theory was unfavorably look upon, most people thought that
diseases a bad seeds in the air known as miasma. Anthony Van Leeuwenhoek made one of the
earliest microscopes this lead to the discovery of micro organisms which he called animalcules.
Joseph Lister developed the microscope in 1830.
Louis Pasteur put forward the germ theory in 1861 this consisted of micro organisms cause
decaying matter. Pasteur never showed the link between bacteria and human disease. Robert Koch
further developed Pasteur s theory. Koch succeeded in what Pasteur did by linking one microbe
with a disease. The first disease Koch worked on was anthrax, which Davaine had also worked
on. Davaine found that in you inject a health animal with a small dose of the disease they won t

was the work of Pasture and Koch that opened the door for other researchers to identification of
disease causing and lifesaving treatments.

Camelot-Personal Narrative Essay
Joan seemed to accept this answer. And how long have you lived here in Camelot? she asked.
This was the question Perceval always dreaded, because it often forced him to discuss his past,
which he hated to do. I ve lived here a little over ten years. I lived on a small farm on the outskirts
of Camelot until I was nine years old. I lived there with my parents and my sister. That is, until
King Urien s men raided our village and killed my family. All three of them, he said, his voice
catching ever so slightly before continuing. Owen, another farmer and family friend was a
widower. He took me in and has been a father to me ever since. He had no children so it was just
the two of us. Much of my time was taken up by farming chores, but Owen knew I dreamed of

High Cost Of Replacement Windows Essay
How to Beat the High Cost of Replacement Windows
Do you have old windows that need replacement? Is your contractor quoting a very high price to
replace your window? If you are one of those who is facing this problem, you will be happy to
know that hurricane windows produce as much energy saving as the full replacement windows and
they cost less than 30 percent of the price. Also, they reduce the long term maintenance need of
your house.
Many of the technologies used in window replacements, such as low emissivity glass that prevent
heat from entering and escaping from the house and weatherproof gasket to stop drafts, are a
standard in modern impact resistant windows. Also, these windows keep the water away from
windowsill, which prevents rot ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These factory made impact windows also come with a screen and two panes that can be easily
positioned up or down, depending on your requirement. However, these three components operate
only on two channels. Rather than sliding the components up and down, you can easily remove the
screen from the channel, then rearrange the panes and reinstall them. Rearranging the panes will
take a little more effort when the season changes, but it makes the window thinner and therefore
less noticeable.
Wood Exterior Storms
These are single pane windows that come with a wooden frame that can be painted to match the
decor of your room. These windows normally hang from hooks and are mounted on the window

order a few screens made in the same fashion so you can swap them onto a few windows
seasonally to allow light and fresh air to enter your home.
Interior Storms
Some households prefer these windows because the cover the existing windows from inside. This
helps in maintaining the antique look of your old house. These factory made storms are made with
thin aluminum frames that can be painted to match your interiors. When these windows are
installed properly, they will press tightly inside the existing window opening. These windows may

The Fall By Albert Camus
Albert Camus s absurdist novel The Fall deals with many overarching themes: justice, guilt,
judgment, freedom, and power. One of the more understated themes is that of punishment, as Jean
Baptiste Clamence is never formally punished. And yet, though the law does not condemn him, he
still finds himself plagued by guilt and fear of judgment even after he claims to have found a
solution. Camus shows, through symbolism and Clamence s own narration, that the lack of
punishment is a burden for Clamence in his supposedly happy life. While speaking to his
companion of his new lifestyle in Amsterdam, Jean Baptiste Clamence proclaims that he has
discovered the secrets of the good life (Camus 144). He even insists, repeatedly, that he is happy,
happy unto death (144). And yet Camus sprinkles hints all over the pages that this is not... Show

Water is inextricably tied to his guilt: the suicidal woman he fails to save drowns in a canal (70),
and it is from the water that he first hears the condemning laughter (39). Before he ever mentions
the woman Clamence didn t save, Camus connects water with death, as Clamence comments on
the breath of stagnant waters, the smell of dead leaves soaking in the canal and the funereal
scent rising from the barges loaded with flowers (43). The water represents his guilt and his
crimes, and yet, rather than escaping it, Clamence moves to a city of canals where he is
constantly surrounded by water. This is not because the water doesn t affect him any longer; on
the contrary, he still fears to cross bridges at night (15) and he admits that he forces himself to
admire the canals (43). He outright acknowledges that the cry of the suicidal woman would
continue to await me on seas and rivers, everywhere, in short, where lies the bitter waters of my
baptism (108). Thus, in surrounding himself by water, Clamence is sure never to be free of the

Lincoln and the Abolitionists Essay
LINCOLN AND THE ABOLITIONISTS
History records Abraham Lincoln as the Great Emancipator, yet ardent abolitionists of his day such
as William Lloyd Garrison viewed him with deep suspicion. That the 16th president eventually
achieved the abolitionists most cherished dream, says biographer Allen Guelzo, happened through a
curious combination of political maneuvering, personal conviction, and commitment to
constitutional principle.
One of the ironies of the Civil War era and the end of slavery in the United States has always been
that the man who played the role of the Great Emancipator was so hugely mistrusted and so
energetically vilified by the party of abolition. Abraham Lincoln, whatever his larger reputation as

Republicanism and anti slavery!
Lincoln s election did not mute abolitionist criticism. His unwillingness to use the outbreak of the
Civil War in the spring of 1861 as a pretext for immediate abolition convinced William Lloyd
Garrison that Lincoln was unwittingly helping to prolong the war, and to render the result more
and more doubtful! If he is 6 feet 4 inches high, he is only a dwarf in mind! Garrison had never

seemed to get more disappointments. Lincoln s presidential inaugural, with its promise not to
interfere with southern slavery if the southern states attempted no violent withdrawal from the
Union, left Douglass with no very hopeful impression of Lincoln. If anything, Lincoln had only
confirmed Douglass s worst fears, and he flayed Lincoln as an itinerant Colonization lecturer,

Consider these two quotes: Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of life, the whole aim and

However, if one stays stagnant, they will not have such means to fulfill an end. The most effective
way to create that atmosphere is through personal growth. Personal growth can occur through
many fronts. It could be personal development books or videos, creating a new discipline, or
learning tools to sort out what is clutter and what is important. All of these are forms of growth.
Staying relevant and growth oriented allows individuals to create those assets along the path to
happiness. Plato bases his argument on ...the four cardinal virtues: wisdom, courage, moderation,
and justice. (Austin) In the workplace, wisdom is so crucial. Whether you are brand new in a
position or a veteran, utilizing wise ethical choices will earn you happiness in the long run.
Courage is also important in tough situations. If faced with an ethical accounting decision, some
will fold under the pressure and compromise their values and character while others will lean into
the discomfort of potentially even leave a position if necessary. By taking this risk, they will
ultimately be happier and more satisfied on their journey. Moderation is by far the most difficult of
these virtues in my opinion. Human desires are terribly difficult to control, but mastering the tool
of self control can conquer many downfalls. Justice is the virtue that wraps all the content together.
It allows a person s overall fulfillment of life to remain intact through accountability.

The article also finds after discussing the arguments for and against Historical Cost Accounting that
is could not be a good replacement for FVA and HCA has problems more severe than the problems

The article concludes that the debate about FVA is full of arguments that do not hold up to further

design prudential regulation that accepts FVA as a starting point but sets explicit counter cyclical
capital requirements.
The article concludes that trade off between transparency and financial stability as well as the
interactions between accounting and prudential regulations needs further analysis and suggest areas
for further research which includes whether FVA did in fact contribute to the financial crisis
through contagion effects, and the interactions between FVA and other important elements of the
institutional framework.
The articles also suggests the study should be done to find out the what role HCA may have

Christ in Majesty
Christ in Majesty is a Romanesque fresco secco from the 12th century that was transferred to
plaster and wood. It was originally located in the apse of the Church of Santa Maria de Mur in
Catalonia, Spain but now is located in the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston as a gift from the Maria

artist of Christ in Majesty utilizes his art to educate people in the doctrines of the Christian faith.

Unlike Medieval painting, Roman painting does not have a specific scene to show nor a particular
doctrine to teach. Some scenes might denote the same theme, but the artist tries to individualize his
work by playing with the elements. In Romanesque painting the iconographical demands do not
allow artists to illustrate the same icons in different ways. To spread Christianity, the symbols need
to remain the same everywhere to make the message easier to understand. In Christ in Majesty the
halo is an example of the recurring iconographic element. A halo around someone s head means that
the person is a saint. Christ, the evangelists, and the Twelve Apostles have halos to point out their
religious significance. Individualization is no longer important on Medieval works because artists
focus on the expansion of the Christian message.
The figures in Christ in Majesty are less naturalistic than the ones in the Dionysiac mystery frieze
(second style Roman), located in the Villa of the Mysteries in Pompeii. The figures of Christ in
Majesty seem flatter because their outline is stronger than the ones on the Roman fresco. When
the artist outlines a form (a three dimensional figure), the form becomes a shape (a two
dimensional figure). The shadows in the Romanesque fresco are represented by thick black lines
or by using different tones. Under Christ eyes the spectator sees turquoise circles, instead of black
circles. Around the eyes of some of the Apostles, one can see shadows

The Cold War Essay
When one hears the common phrase, The only good commie is a dead one, the Cold War comes
to mind. This war, cold because of no direct violence towards each country, was a major
contribution to future wartime diplomacy. The clever Americans used many tactics to create a cold
war that would benefit them in every aspect. The fear of communism consuming smaller countries
exaggerated the possibility that America s economy could be jeopardized. Politicians also helped

According to the domino theory, if the United States declined to fight ... , other countries would
lose their faith in America s will (or their fear of American power) and would tumble one after the

United States wanted to fight to protect their economy, and to globalize it. Communism, an disease
in the Soviet Camp, posed an economic threat to the United States because it would take away the
globalization of trade. The United States established themselves as the anticommunist patrol
through the Truman Doctrine, who combated the spread of communism by influencing and
improving the economy of countries who were swaying towards communism. This economic aid
was a disguise for America imposing capitalistic values. The United States chose to fight what they

Politicians had an important role in creating half truths that painted the communists a deeper, and

treatment adherence via employment based reinforcement in opioid dependent persons (n=38)
in a randomized, controlled trial. The participants were randomized into contingency (n=19) or
prescription condition groups (n=19). Participants received up to six monthly doses of XR
NTX over the course of 24 weeks. In order for the contingency group participants to be able to
access the designated workplace, they were required to accept XR NTX injections, however,
prescription participants could gain access without being administered XR NTX injections.
Significance was found in contingency participants were being retained greater than prescription
participants (x2=7.11, p=0.008; HR=0.27, 95% CI: 0.1 0.71). By the end of the trial, 74% of
contingency participants versus 26% of prescription participants received all of the XR NTX
injections (x2=8.53, p=0.004). In a moderator analysis, Nunes, et al. (2015) tried to identify which
individuals are most likely to respond to treatment with XR NTX. The analysis used the findings of

Differences Between The Bodhisattva In The Davis Museum
Another more obvious difference between the Bodhisattva in the Davis Museum is the coloring of
each. Unfortunately, time has worn away most of the paint on these heads, but the left Bodhisattva
shows more remnants of the original painting, including a small wavy mustache. Red paint can
still be seen in the headdress, the urna and the lines of the neck. Both heads have dark paint
outlining the eyebrows and the eyes, offering the viewer a look into Gandharan culture. One can
see the hair was once painted black based on the left Bodhisattvas hair which still contains some of
the dark pigment. While most of the paint has worn away, the naturalistic sculpting style allows
the life of the Bodhisattvas to remain intact without the added color. The sculptures appear
dynamic due to the use of lines and shadows in order to further one s sense of naturalism. The eye
sockets are set deep into each head which causes a shadow to fall over the eyes due to the brow...

The stucco heads are examples of the novel art that was formed when art from different countries
was allowed to influence each other. This is visibly illustrated by the Davis Museum placing the
Gandharan heads between the South Asian and Mediterranean exhibits, symbolizing the mixing of
the various art forms. While the informational cards about the Bodhisattvas are helpful tools, they
must be taken with a grain of salt. Whatever is printed on the informational cards must be
questioned and analyzed instead of believed to be the truth. The museum controls the informational
cards and thus, controls the narrative that the audience will learn about each piece. Nonetheless, it
is critical to be curious about the circumstances surrounding museums and their collections so in the
future, such questionable practices won t be tolerated and important cultural pieces will no longer
be taken from their origin

Attention Deficit Disorder is Overdiagnosed Essay
Attention Deficit Disorder is Overdiagnosed
If a child has attention deficit disorder then the child has attention deficit disorder,
but if the child does not have attention deficit disorder, and a person goes down a yellow
brick road to correct the malady under the pretense that attention deficit disorder is the
focus, and the attention deficit disorder medications and therapy are the cure, then do not
be disappointed with the results. Attention deficit disorder is a syndrome of disordered
learning and disruptive behavior that is not caused by any serious underlying physical or
mental disorder and that has several subtypes characterized primarily by inattentiveness,
primarily by hyperactivity and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This speculation is proven true especially for very active little boys.
Over the past few years, the number of children and adolescents referred to
professionals for attention deficit disorder has dramatically increased. Three to six
percent of school aged children are diagnosed with attention deficit disorder (Silver
107 108). One to two percent of adult men and women in the United States have been
said to have attention deficit disorder and three to ten percent of children are diagnosed
with attention deficit disorder in the Untied States, with three quarters of them boys
(Hales 338). Not a single one of the five to six million children in the United Sates who
have been diagnosed with attention deficit disorder bears unbiased evidence of a physical
or chemical abnormality establishing proof that they are diseased, other than the fact that
the children are normal (Baughman 11 12 00). All children commonly lack persistence,
lack attentiveness, are impulsive, and are constantly restless (Parker 209).
Physicians in the United States misdiagnose attention deficit disorder more
readily than doctors elsewhere in the world (Encarta 11 12 00). Many problems a person
may face mirror the behaviors and diagnosis of attention deficit disorder and it is, many
times, easier just to say a person has attention deficit disorder than look for the real cause.

He states that he s clear and decisive which isn t enough to support my claim but when followed

shows that he idolizes Napoleon far more than the average fan would. The comment of
Napoleon going from victory to victory and the claim that his fate was more brilliant than the
world has ever seen or is likely to see after him shows that Goethe is blinded. Napoleon has lost a
number of battles and the end of his reign was far from brilliant. In conclusion, Goethe idolizes
Napoleon on a completely different level. B.John Adams, unlike Goethe, seems to despise
Napoleon. He starts of strong with a mighty bubble meaning he thinks Napoleon isn t near as

he doesn t care about his past nor future. He also calls him a creature and states that his birth was a

How The Tuskegee Changed Aviation
Born on December 7, 1919 in Cleveland, Ohio, Charles McGee changed aviation in more ways
than one. McGee graduated from Chicago s Dusable High School in 1938 and pursued a higher
education by attending the University of Illinois in 1939. It was there that he joined ROTC.
When war was declared on Pearl Harbor, McGee applied for a pilot s slot in an experimental
squadron and passed the exams. According to the National Aviation Hall of Fame, on October
19, 1942, he received his orders and made his way to Tuskegee Army Air Field in Alabama to
begin training with his fellow African Americans. One memory he claims to remember very well
was his trip down to the south to get to Tuskegee. He said when he crossed into the state he had to

When McGee began his career in the Air Force, African American s were still seen as unequal to
white Americans in every aspect. It wasn t until July 2, 1964, that President Johnson signed the
Civil Rights Act of 1964 that banned discrimination based on race. Previous to this, the Jim
Crow laws were used as justification for denying African Americans soldiers the opportunity to
become pilots in the military. Once this changed, a new door opened for colored pilots causing
many to stay in the military long after the war ended and turn it into a career, as McGee did.
Although McGee s career began due to WWII, it certainly did not end there. McGee went on to
serve in Korea as well as Vietnam. By the time McGee retired from the Air Force on January 31,
1973 he had earned awards such as the Oak Leaf Cluster, and had six thousand three hundred
hours of flying fighter jets. He went on to become President of the Tuskegee Airmen,
Incorporated for two presidencies. This is significant because McGee helped show the nation that
African Americans are capable of being not only some of the best airmen out there, but also some
of the best leaders. He never quit in the journey to better himself and helped pave the way for
many African Americans who hold the dream to fly. In the long run, the color of one s skin means

Perpendicular, Parallel Or Perpendicular Line Analysis
The activity shown on clip number one entails on students trying to identify perpendicular,
parallel, or intersecting lines on a street map. As I circulated from group to group I noticed that
Miranda s group had written down the wrong answer for W 36th and Broadway, she had written
down perpendicular lines, when the right answer was intersecting lines. Since this task is done in
group, they collectively agreed on the answer. During video clip number one at 33:40 I explained,
West 36th, so if you cannot actually see it, you can use your fingers, West 36th and Broadway you

Cheer Descriptive Writing
Cheer has taken an unexpected turn from real sport to arts and crafts as we prepare for
homecoming. Glitter neatly rains down from Lauryn s hand onto a sign. Her concentration is as
intense as the electric blue of her bow. For whatever reason, we are the only sport who is
expected to waste our time to decorate the school and make signs for football players. I think it
is a little creepy that we are expected to go to all the seniors homes and decorate their doors. But
the other girls do not see it that way it is a source of much excitement so I am excited too. Sitting
next to Lauryn, I am pushed along with the current of excited conversations and painting.

Airline Alliances
Airline Alliances an Analysis
Introduction:
Liberalisation of the Airline Market now allows carriers to engage in alliances to form more
powerful synergy s and capture a larger share of the market. Since the introduction of The Airline
Deregulation Act in 1978 in North America and similar acts worldwide the aviation industry has
become one of the fastest growing industries. The main objective of this was to allow the market
place to influence the development of airlines. The main development from this was that airlines
find it more beneficial if they join alliances. In this report I will discuss why airlines engage in
alliances, identify the strategic benefits of alliances and assess their effectiveness.
Why airlines engage in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By pooling resources alliances can reduce unit costs and achieve greater cost efficiencies through
more efficient utilisation of resources such as sharing landing slots, maintenance teams, IT systems
and labour. Airlines also have the opportunity of engaging in joint purchasing agreements and
make considerable savings. When we look at the Star Alliance which was founded in 1997 we see
that they have made considerable savings from joint purchasing agreements. Earlier this year The
Star Alliance leveraged its purchasing power with the procurement of new economy class seats. As
well as reducing the cost of seat ownership the airline will also benefit of reduced future fuel costs
due to the seats being made of lighter materials.
The demand side benefits of Strategic Alliances include accessing new markets through availing of
new landing slots. Landing slots are a big plus from strategic alliances. Currently Virgin Airways
are looking for landing slots at London s main airports to fly to destinations in Asia including
Bangalore. Through the potential prospect of joining the Alliance Sir Richard Branson hopes to
secure these slots. Alliances enable airlines to offer a more seamless network of flights to
customers due to their collaborative efforts. Alliances also have the option to use code sharing
which enables consumers to book space on the same flights through multiple airlines websites.
Effectiveness of alliances:

A Summary OfThe Moths
Do you remember the last time you took a bath? A bath filled with bubbles, perhaps with a
younger sibling? What about the last time you stood in a bath, holding your dead grandmother,
naked as moths came out of her mouth? In the short story The Moths , by Helena Maria
Viramontes, a young Latina misfit granddaughter matures the moment her grandmother dies.
Compared to her relationship with her parents and her siblings, the bond she carried with her
Abuelita was special. She found comfort with her after receiving several whippings, broken her
arm, puberty and even her first lie. (1) She would gladly help her out with her gardening or
cooking, although they hardly spoke, or hardly looked at each other as they worked. Although she
was rebellious and callous, human experience is conveyed through magical realism, exemplifying
the narrator s vulnerability towards her grandmother. The moths first made an appearance as
healing method for the narrator s bull hands , her Abuelita made a balm out of dried mothwings and
Vicks and rubbed [her] hands, shaped them back to size and it was the strangest feeling (3).
Immediately the moths are associated with healing. The dead moth wings are used to heal the
wellbeing of the narrator. Later, the moths are part of the grandmother s death, as small, gray ones
that came from her soul and out through her mouth flutter[ed] to light (16). At the beginning of the
story the moths appeared as resources to heal the narrator, now they are shown

Character Analysis of Blanche DuBois in Tennessee...
Character Analysis of Blanche Through Text and Symbolism in A Streetcar Named Desire
Tennessee Williams was once quoted as saying Symbols are nothing but the natural speech of
drama...the purest language of plays (Adler 30). This is clearly evident in A Streetcar Named
Desire, one of Williams s many plays. In analyzing the main character of the story, BlancheDuBois
, it is crucial to use both the literal text as well as the symbols of the story to get a complete and
thorough understanding of her.
Before one can understand Blanche s character, one must understand the reason why she moved to
New Orleans and joined her sister, Stella, and brother in law, Stanley. By analyzing the symbolism
in the first scene, one ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She escaped death in her use of desire. However, she could not escape death for long. She was a
teacher at a high school, and at one point, she had intimacies with a seventeen year old student.
The superintendent, Mr. Graves, found out about this and she was fired from her job. Her
reputation was totally destroyed and she could no longer stay there. Mr. Graves sent her to her
next stop on her symbolic journey a train named Cemeteries . Her final destination was Elysian
Fields . The inhabitants of this place are described in Book six of the Aenead:
They are the souls, answered his [Aeneas ] father Anchises, / Whose destiny it is a second time
To live in the flesh and there by the waters of Lethe / They drink the draught that sets them free
from care
And blots out their memory. (Quirino 61)
This is the place of the living dead. Blanche came to Elysian Fields to forget her horrible past, and
to have a fresh start in life (Quirino, 63). In fact Blanche admits in the fourth scene that she wants
to make myself a new life (Williams 135).
Through a knowledge of the circumstances that brought Blanche to Elysian Fields, it is easy to
understand the motives behind many of Blanche s actions. One such action is that of constant
bathing. This action represents her need to purify herself from her past (Corrigan 53). However, it
is important to note that Blanche s description of her traveling came before she actually settled

myself talking to new people. I find them so interesting because you never know anyone s story.

Gojira Symbolism
As the monster Gojira came lumbering over the buildings of Tokyo on the big screen in 1954,
director Ishiro Honda saw his dream of seeing a film focused on the devastation of nuclear
weapons play out. Although, his film could not clearly be about the devastation, his symbolism of
the monster as the atomic bomb was clear to all Japanese, even if it was not clear to foreigners
viewing the film. The film, Gojira, and its many reiterations over the years, is a result of the atomic
attacks that took place almost a decade previous, the following occupation and continued use of
nuclear weapons by the United States, the lingering anxieties had towards these nuclear weapons
and the censorship that encased Japan after the United States occupation. As... Show more content

Both these events rocked the country and its citizens, leaving many with lingering anxieties
over the threat of atomic bombs. These anxieties were not helped by the United States continued
use and testing of these weapons in Japan. Just a couple years before the film was released, the
United States dropped their first H bomb on a small Japanese island. Additionally, in 1954 the
United States dropped another H bomb, that exposed a boat, Daigo FukuryЕ« Maru, and its
crew to high amounts of radiation. (Noriega 1987:65) This disaster is shown in the opening
scene of Gojira, a scene that would be recognizable to all Japanese watching the film. Honda, like
many Japanese shared these anxieties over the devastation of atomic weapons, but he recognized
that he could not make a film explicitly about these weapons. (also about the guilt of americans by
showing tis scene.)This was due to the censorship laws under the occupation. This censorship did
not allow media to criticize the United States, (Rosenfeld 2002:86) and if Honda had explicitly
made a film of the aftermath of the United States attack on Japan, it would be a criticism. There
was no outlet for these concerns because this, which lingered even after they left the country, hence
why Honda posed the atomic threat as a monster in his

The Specialization Of A Business Model Essay
The Specialization Business
Like the other models the specialization business model can be conflated with freelancers, solution
based businesses, and also first to market models. Like the solution based model, the specialization
model can be scaled up or built with the purpose of being sold. This kind of business model is a
step beyond the solution idea and combines the freelancer and the solution provider. One could
even argue that this is a matured version of the solution business. Whether the specialization
business focuses on a good or a service, the specialization model typically has extremely
proprietary knowledge and techniques which cannot be easily replicated by competing firms.
Often, patents and complex legal barriers to entry are established to protect the specialist s
natural advantages. Elements of the freelance, solution, debt, and first to market business models
are present in specialization models, but I classify this as a unique model of its own because the
owners must protect their secrets yet clone themselves to scale up. There are countless legacy
businesses built on industry secrets, and proprietary knowledge. McDonalds, Chick Fil A, and
Kentucky Fried Chicken were all founded on very specialized formulas and techniques that even to
this day are exceptionally protected. Completely opposite firms like DutchBoy paint, and computer
platform firms like Oracle can also be considered specialization businesses and also have their own
secrets to

Attitude of Young people of India towards Luxury Brands
Introduction:
A couple of generations ago, a typical purchase decision for the average Indian would be choosing
between, say, clothes and electronic goods whenever they had a little cash to spare. Today, the
customers dilemma involves making up their mind between Prada and Gucci, Merc and
Lamborghini. Marie Antoinette would say, If they can t have bread, give them brands instead!

malls, from frugal minded consumer to who want it all and from a population largely obessed with

value middle tier brands. The findings suggest that there is significant difference with the gender
difference, social status, price, quality to purchase a luxury good. There is a higher association
between the annual household income and Purchase of luxury goods
It clearly says that affordability, quality, availability, celebrity, self satisfaction, image and social
status are the key drivers to the migration of consumers to Luxury brands from value middle tier
branded goods. It confirms the view that brand perception and purchase value is, apart from
socially oriented motives of buying to impress others also affected by financial, functional, and
individual aspects. It would seem that the dimensions presented in this paper are appropriate
variables for segmenting the market for branded items.

The Pros And Cons Of Supreme Court Justices
At present, all federal judges have lifetime tenure; it has been this way since the drafting of the
United States Constitution. Many contend that when the Constitution was drafted, the life
expectancy then was less than half of what it is now in the 21st century. One of the major
criterion for selection was the expectation that the candidate had a longer life expectancy. In other
words, the candidate must be young enough to serve for several decades. By limiting the term of
Supreme Court Justices to that of eighteen years, doing so would provide the potential for an
increased sensibility to modern politics and life. If we were to continue to adhere to the verbiage
of Article III, Section 1 of the Constitution, justices could continue to hold the position provided
each exhibits good behavior. The question remains whether the pros would outweigh the cons of
bringing new life and younger insight into the Court and would it tip the scales and force our
legislators to apply term limits.
What then would be the benefit of limiting the term of a Supreme Court Justice? The reasoning for
the limitation begins with the level of contention that becomes present in the United States Senate
when a vacancy evolves. For the purpose of enlightenment, we can reflect back to the ... Show more

their mental capacity becomes an issue. Prior to impeachment proceedings, judges could and

sufficient weight in the debate because if limits were placed on a Justice s tenure, if their actions

  • 2. Cp Snow The Two Cultures Analysis The Two Cultures, which was originally a lecture by C.P. Snow, Shows the how Snow sees the split of the Humanities and Sciences and how that it could harm the growth of the world. From what I have gathered Snow believes that the world is run by those who are educated in the humanities and even says that they are behaving like a state whose power is rapidly declining . That those who are in command are more worried about keeping afloat than trying to expand. Snow though also show how much he supports the disciplines and wished for the two to begin to work together more. Snow thought that if the sciences and humanities did not work together for progress it could lead to the doom of not only England but the entirety of western civilization. ... • 3. The Influence Of Puritans In New England Puritanism a product of the protestant reformation was founded on the belief that only those who have felt the presence of god should be given church membership. The Puritans beliefs strongly conflicted with the religious systems of England, causing them to search for a new home. The Pilgrims, being some of the first to leave England, traveled to holland for a 12 span and then eventually docked at Plymouth Bay in New England. Being outside of the Virginia Company s territory their permission to settle was void, but settle they did. Following the pilgrims lead, in 1630 close to one thousand puritans sailed the Atlantic to escape persecution and settle in the new world. Due to a population comprised mainly of Puritans, The New England colonies were founded upon religious values. The Puritans religious beliefs caused them to set up a government built upon the church and to be xenophobic to non Puritans, but were ultimately the key to their colonies success. ... • 4. Fire Department Pros Analysis Introduction After several years of a hiring freeze, the Fire Department(FD) is seeking to expand its firefighting personnel ranks by recruiting approximately 1000 candidates to be eventually hired. Currently, the Fire Department is predominantly male Caucasian of either Irish or Italian descent in a long history of dedicated fire fighters which goes back generations. Contrastingly, a significant number of minorities have been unable to meet the expectations of the FD s outdated recruitment practices which lack standardized procedures hence, few minority (women, African Americans, Hispanics) firefighters. Now, the city s estimated population is 1 million of which, about 30% are racial of ethnic minorities (mainly African Americans and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Specifically, neutral policies or practices that unevenly or unfavorably effect any protected class qualifies as employment discrimination (EEOC, n.d.). In the past, women outperformed all candidates in exams despite failing the physical exams. Ultimately, more white candidates dominated the civil service list from where appointments came for years, the few minority candidates that passed never made the hiring list and women were have never been hired. Based on the FD s statistics, there is compelling evidence indicative of both racial and gender discrimination against racial minorities and women, in recruitment, testing, selection, hiring and promotion to support the disparate impact theory (Guerin, n.d.). Therefore, as a representative of the city, it is my recommendation that the FD cease and desist from sole use of word of mouth recruitment and the continued use of flawed essay based exams as this would prove a pattern of non compliance with EEOC along with potential legal recourse (U.S. Department of Justice, 2015, p. 2). Recruitment campaign improvement recommendations The essay based questions should be developed by an independent party with assistance from both city and Fire Commission representatives. Following a literature review section of an International Association of Firefighters (IAFF) study, it was concluded that the best recruitment technique for minority recruitment was targeted recruitment consisting of the following (Fox, Hornick, ... • 5. Emergence Of A Global Trading Arena Introduction Emergence of revolution in the world led to globalization. Hitherto, people gain from massive and healthy business trade across the borders (Lucas, 367). In this case, one country is able to gain from selling or buying of goods. Moreover, countries realized the importance of creating a global trading arena to encourage the produces from all economies through integration. In this regard, people enjoyed from some exemptions that interfered with flow of goods and service across borders. Despite the vast advantage that parties enjoy in this kind of trade, they face various hurdles, which demoralize them as they perform their business transactions. For instance, changes in the economic status in one of the countries result in reduction in value of goods. Likewise, some traders may suffer due to high rates of taxation in the bordering countries. Understanding the concept of cross border shopping The presence of competition in the indirect tax within the export and import zones leads to the creation of horizontal tax externalities. Vertical tax externalities may also arise between the central and regional government. In most of the cases, both countries tend to maximize revenue through tax collection through purchasing and selling of goods. One party may therefore set policies that aim at in increasing tax collection (Lucas 369; Ballard and Lee 720). The code was grounded in commonly accepted principles of morality and ethics and provided a clear set of norms for all members of society to live together in peace (Code, 2017, para 3). It is important to note that the Allies eventually established the laws and procedures for the Nuremberg trials with the London Charter of the International Military Tribunal (IMT), issued on August 8, 1945 (History, 2010, para 6). With the final surrender of Germany during WWII occurring on May 8, 1945 and the IMT war crimes description being committed to writing a full three months to the day after the final surrender of those who would be tried for said crimes, there is no conceivable way under the positive law concept of Nullum crimen sine lege that the individuals being tried could have known that the actions that they took prior to the establishment of the law, and during the course of the war, would be punishable under an international war crimes court which did not exist at the time of the actions. To be honest, I have not had a lot of time or practice interpreting test scores and what those scores mean in the end. How to improve those scores was even farther away from my thoughts? What the article brings for me is less of specific strategies and more along the lines of good leadership for a school. I have been teaching for eighteen years and can count on one hand the number of times I have been asked to interpret test scores and figure out strategies to help. The last time I looked at Iowa Assessments was about six years ago and I noticed a large gap in what we were teaching versus items that were on the test. • 14. Argumentative Essay On Media And Religion Modern times have changed lots of ways that we look at past institutions in America. During the 21st century, media and religion seem to play an important part in our society. Furthermore, the combination of the two has created a dynamic series of positives and negatives. People might argue that we have reached a time in our life where religion isn t important to follow or take note of. However, time and time again it has been proving that religion and the media have an impact on people s feelings towards a group and understanding of the group s theology. The famous thinker and poet, W.E.B Du Bois wrote in his novel, The Souls of the Black Folk piece, Being a problem is a strange experience (Bayoumi, page 2). This serves as an interesting induction to the problem of media/ religion and Islam. Du bois, a pre civil rights leader, was discussing the idea of being a problem in a society that should be home. The government, police, and citizens of America are judging and creating standpoints off sources of media that are displaying stereotypes and racist assumptions against the next group. Therefore, the struggle for peace, identity, and a place called home in rooted in the Islamic people. Currently in the media, it has been acceptable to have the opinion of Islamphobia or even xenophobia. We live in an age of time where there is a striking sophistication in technology. With a click of a button and a few words typed, one can access many facts and opinions on different groups of people. Unfortunately, the inequities and prejudices that have affected the human race still continue to thrive in current times. People are failing to change their look on people in this Great country we live in. Especially during this new political climate, the untold stories of human suffering still tend to exist. Historically, America has struggled with race relations and the full acknowledgement of other people. According to Professor Michael Bartone at Central Connecticut State University, unless you are a cisgender wealthy White Christian male, you have felt oppression, but maybe unaware because one has been realized to believe they have power and are not oppressed or they refuse to believe they have been oppressed because ... Participants will be recruited through an availability sampling method and asked to participatent in this longitudinal research study. As a result, this study will expand on the minimal literature concerning how to best help adolescents that are seeking treatment from drug addiction. Great Effectiveness of Narcotics Anonymous for Adolescents Drug addiction can be a powerful and complex situation for some individuals to gain control of. Research and health professionals have historically shown that 12 step programs provide the tools and healthy social networks that are immensely beneficial to achieving sobriety. However, prior studies have largely focused on these programs effectiveness for adults, whereas younger populations are also seeking treatment for drug addiction. This longitudinal study will have only adolescent participants to enhance the minimal research that has been done on this population. It is relevant to social work because the results of this study will help social workers to better understand that Narcotics Anonymous may be more effective for some adolescents, namely those with many positive social supports as compared to those with few positive social supports. This means inhabiting an off grid lifestyle makes one solely responsible for supplying their energy, waste removal system and water supply system. One resource that is essential to produce electricity is renewable energy. Providing one s own energy consists of utilizing solar panels, wind turbines and micro hydroelectricity. Solar panels absorb energy from the Sun to produce solar energy. A great number of people who live off the grid use solar power. Wind turbines generate electrical power from the wind and functions in the reverse manner as a fan does. Micro hydroelectricity is another source of energy, which fascinatingly uses a source of running water, like a stream, to generate electricity (Dunn 3). Between all three sources of renewable energy, micro hydroelectricity is the most efficient, reliable and commonly used form. One of the more understated themes is that of punishment, as Jean Baptiste Clamence is never formally punished. While speaking to his companion of his new lifestyle in Amsterdam, Jean Baptiste Clamence proclaims that he has discovered the secrets of the good life (Camus 144). Unlike Medieval painting, Roman painting does not have a specific scene to show nor a particular doctrine to teach. Some scenes might denote the same theme, but the artist tries to individualize his work by playing with the elements. In Romanesque painting the iconographical demands do not allow artists to illustrate the same icons in different ways. To spread Christianity, the symbols need to remain the same everywhere to make the message easier to understand. In Christ in Majesty the halo is an example of the recurring iconographic element. A halo around someone s head means that the person is a saint. Christ, the evangelists, and the Twelve Apostles have halos to point out their religious significance. Individualization is no longer important on Medieval works because artists focus on the expansion of the Christian message. The figures in Christ in Majesty are less naturalistic than the ones in the Dionysiac mystery frieze (second style Roman), located in the Villa of the Mysteries in Pompeii. The figures of Christ in Majesty seem flatter because their outline is stronger than the ones on the Roman fresco. When the artist outlines a form (a three dimensional figure), the form becomes a shape (a two dimensional figure). The shadows in the Romanesque fresco are represented by thick black lines or by using different tones. Under Christ eyes the spectator sees turquoise circles, instead of black circles. This war, cold because of no direct violence towards each country, was a major contribution to future wartime diplomacy. The clever Americans used many tactics to create a cold war that would benefit them in every aspect. The fear of communism consuming smaller countries exaggerated the possibility that America s economy could be jeopardized. This illustrates how the United States wanted to fight to protect their economy, and to globalize it. Communism, an disease in the Soviet Camp, posed an economic threat to the United States because it would take away the globalization of trade. The United States established themselves as the anticommunist patrol through the Truman Doctrine, who combated the spread of communism by influencing and improving the economy of countries who were swaying towards communism. This economic aid was a disguise for America imposing capitalistic values. The United States chose to fight what they saw as a harmful threat, provoking the start of the Cold War. Politicians had an important role in creating half truths that painted the communists a deeper, and darker red color. This ideology was greatly influenced by the principles outlined by George F. Kennan, a diplomat and Soviet specialist. After much research, Kennan showed that the Soviet Union was prone to expansion. Many contend that when the Constitution was drafted, the life expectancy then was less than half of what it is now in the 21st century. One of the major criterion for selection was the expectation that the candidate had a longer life expectancy. In other words, the candidate must be young enough to serve for several decades. By limiting the term of Supreme Court Justices to that of eighteen years, doing so would provide the potential for an increased sensibility to modern politics and life. If we were to continue to adhere to the verbiage of Article III, Section 1 of the Constitution, justices could continue to hold the position provided each exhibits good behavior. The question remains whether the pros would outweigh the cons of bringing new life and younger insight into the Court and would it tip the scales and force our legislators to apply term limits.
