This document discusses using the learning design framework Team Based Learning (TBL) with the open-source learning design authoring and runtime system LAMS. It provides an example of implementing TBL at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine using LAMS, which required new technical features in LAMS like roles within groups. The document also discusses challenges in implementing TBL and monitoring it in LAMS, and how this pushed the boundaries of LAMS while also identifying areas for future development. Finally, it discusses adapting the TBL approach at the University of Western Sydney and concludes that TBL has been successful pedagogically while also stretching LAMS technically.
