Implementing a new workflow solution in an existing system environment and integrated with a scanning solution can be extremely complex. If you’re also going live in 20 countries while simultaneously centralising to a shared service operation your project just got a whole lot more challenging!
In this presentation from The Accounts Payable Tech Summit 2011 given by Urs Jraeffker, Project Manager at IKEA, shares how IKEA:
• Implemented the Basware solution for workflow and integrated this with a scanning solution across five countries
• Centralised transactional work simultaneously in Poland and China
• Is overcoming resistance to change with its current roll out across 20 countries

Overview of business models used in on-lineAsen Gyczew
We work with startups on daily basis within our accelerator StartupAkademia and we have noticed that despite tones of very good books on lean methods (i.e. Lean Analytics, Running Lean etc.) startups as well as small / medium businesses have problems with applying this knowledge in practice. We have noticed that, especially first time startups, do not really understand their business model (which is totally understandable). That's why, it is very difficult for them to know what they should concentrate on. Most entrepreneurs / startups have more or less clear business idea but quite often they do not know the business models they can chose and end up learning it the hard way, through their mistakes. Some of them have read the Lean analytics, Lean Starup or Running Lean but even then they do not know exactly how to translate it into coherent Excel model. A business model in the form of Excel is very important for evaluating your business, seeing how much cash you need and how your hypothesis and KPIs are translating into the business
Therefore we build a course on Udemy: https://www.udemy.com/on-line-business-models-in-excel-practical-guide/
The presentation you will find here is just a fraction of what you can find in the course
What will this course give you?
The course is a practical, step by step guide loaded with tones of tips and tools that will help you significantly speed up with your business, especially if you are a startup or a small / medium business. There is little theory – mainly examples, a lot of tips from our own experience as well as other notable examples worth mentioning. Our intention is that thanks to the course you will know:
- What your business model is about, what to concentrate on and what are the key KPIs for you?
- How you can translate it into Excel and evaluate your business?
- How to make conclusions on the basis of your business model presented in the form of Excel

Do the efficiencies gained by outsourcing P2P processes outweigh the costs? What is the business value in outsourcing?
Last year Sony was told by five consultants that what they wanted to do was impossible. Twelve months later they are reaping the rewards of having successfully outsourced ALL their P2P processes of Sony Europe, reducing their finance headcount from almost 70 to just 3 people whilst still remaining fully in control of how their P2P processes are managed by using a flexible, reliable and user friendly tool that allows easy communication between end users and the outsource centre.
This presentation from Jan Fonfara, Head of Finance Processes, Sony Europe explains how this was all made possible.

This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

we try to overcome them 2/2
CHALLENGES ACTIONS
BSC TRANSITION • Set up a common steering
Darwin go live = transition • Agree on common timeline
of transactional work into • Co-ordinate the rollout work
Business Service Centre • Work on content dependencies
• Focus more on setting up „contracts“ in Basware
AUTOMATIC MATCHING • Increase number of electronic purchase orders
Matching rates below and goods receipts
expectations in rollouts so • Include additional flows in purchasing tool
far • Be patient - work continuously on increasing the
rate – after rollout project is closed

17. Where are we today?
Darwin up and running in eight
countries
One legacy invoice handling system
closed
Low rates of automatic matching
Core solution is stable
End users are satisfied with
functionality and usability of Basware
Remaining transactional work handled
in business service centres in Poznan
and Shanghai
Efficiency increase not measured yet

18. Key lessons learned
Difficult to solve issues while running –
don‘t start without the right prerequisites
(e.g. system integration)
If two changes in one, set it up as one
(system rollout + BSC transition)
Don‘t underestimate the need for proper
change management
Big changes take time (e.g. automatic
matching, BSC transition)
A good solution is what counts long term
We become better with every country
rollout!
