As the creditors view, they prefer the high current ratio. The current ratio provides the best single
indicator of the extent, which assets that are expected to be converted to cash fairly quickly cover
the claims of short term creditors. However, consider the current ratio from the perspective of a
shareholder. A high current ratio could mean that the company has a lot of money tied up in
nonproductive assets.
The return on equity, ROE, is as high as 20.69% (above 15%). It illustrate that the RL
Corporation uses the investors money pretty effectively. As of return of assets, equals to 13.10%,
which reveals how much profit a company earns for every dollar of its assets. Both ROE and
ROA for RL Corporation seems really good and they provide a picture that managers are doing a
good job of generating return from shareholders investments.
The current financial performance is pretty optimistic for RL Corporation. At the same time, we
also need to forecast the future financial data after 2012. To forecast the future free cash flow, only
the internal employees can get the real and accurate information and ratios. As an external
observer, we usually analyze the linear relation between the cost of capital and growth rate,
considered as the constant growth model. First of all, we need find the WACC, Weighted Average

Throughout Our History, Infectious Diseases Have Posed
Throughout our history, infectious diseases have posed the biggest challenge on human
survival. It s hard to believe that people once assumed that foul odors caused diseases or that one
becomes ill due to the presence of evil spirits . It s also hard to imagine that there was a time in
which it was seldom that a parent would see all of their children grows up into adulthood. The
fight against disease developed with the consolidation of the germ theory, which also offered a
massive forewarning for most individuals. The germ theory, alone, played a massive role in the
entire revolution of medicine. The theory acquainted people of the reality of germs and the
magnitude of hygiene. This revolution was eternal and the most crucial... Show more content on

Medicine men or priests represented healers due to the fact that they were believed to have special
relationships to the supernatural realm. Exorcisms, spells, and divination were common practices
to cure those infected by disease, or evil spirits . Modern vocabulary still reflects these beliefs
through phrases such as being attacked by an illness, or to fight off infections. The beliefs of the
supernatural controlling the health of individuals was unanimous all throughout the ancient world
and confirmed by medical writings from Egypt, China, India, and Mesopotamia.
The history behind the evolution of the germ theory of disease can be traced back to speculations in
300 BC. Hippocrates of Cos, Greek physician known as the father of western medicine, attributed
disease to vapors that arose from decomposing material or swampland. Hippocrates believed
infectious diseases formed through atmospheric miasmatic theory of disease, which was that
diseases were caused by miasma, which was a noxious form of bad air . Hippocrates s theory was
influential up until the late nineteenth century; the time when the relationship between disease and
microbes was confirmed.
The contagiousness of leprosy, beginning in the early centuries of the Christian era, played a major
roll in the study of disease transmission. The book of Leviticus, in the Old Testament, is one of the
earliest writings to notice a system in controlling

Acupuncture Treated Patient Who Received A Traumatic Brain...
This case report illustrates the improvement of an acupuncture treated patient who received a
traumatic brain injury from a snowboarding accident. The patient progressed from initially not
being able to walk, having difficultly with speech, and poor eyesight, to where he has now regained
significant motor function, speech and vision and has returned to snowboarding. This case shows
the beneficial effects of acupuncture when tailored to the patient s condition. Through a core
acupuncture protocol plus specific points added to address the patient s ongoing concerns, a patient
can make great advances. This case adds to the medical literature by demonstrating the wide
reaching effects of acupuncture on traumatic brain injury(TBI) treatment. Past studies have focused
on medical services post TBI with the use of acupuncture leading to increased cerebral blood flow
and improvement with insomnia, but not an overall return to function. This case follows the
significant progression of a patient from initial injury through subsequent acupuncture therapy over
a four year period.
Introduction
The leading cause of death for people age 1 45 years old in North America is traumatic brain
injury (TBI). With slightly higher prevalence in men and an increase in frequency before the age of
30, TBI is a significant cause of morbidity. TBI that occurs during adolescence and early adulthood
can lead to increased challenges with physical, emotional, and mental function during recovery.

Why Should The Amazon Rain Forest Be Developed
Picture this. A beautiful tropical forest, with lush plant life and a huge variety of animals. The
forest is huge, covering 40% of South America, Including 60% of Brazil, 13% of Peru, 10% of
Colombia, and various parts of other countries, including Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Guyana,
Suriname and French Guiana. It is a little over half the size of the United States. This gorgeous
example of natural beauty is called the Amazon Rain Forest. The resources of the Amazon Rain
Forest should be developed, but they should be developed sustainably. The Amazon Rain Forest
should be developed because it is full of resources, as well as many medicinal plants. It could

O, N, And B. D. H. J. T s Mutation
One day after setting up the replica plates, we observed thick growth in all the intersections of
Min + His and thick growth everywhere the strains were placed (see figure above), which suggests
that the matings and the cellular transfer were successful, respectively. We observed thick growth
on the min plate at intersection of P and his1, P and his4, and P and his5 while observing no
growth on his3 and P, which suggest P s mutation is within the same geneas his2. For the sake of
space, see table Min Plate Intersectional Growth for O, N, and Y stains complementation test.
Therefore, we conclude that P s mutation is in the same gene as his3, O s mutation is in the
same gene as his1, N s mutation is in the same gene as his5, and Y s mutation is in the same gene
as his4. Thus, the genotype P is his1+, his3, his4+, his5+, leu 2+, ura3+, and trp1+. O is his1,
his3+, his4+, his5+, leu 2+, ura3+, and trp1+. N is his1+, his3+, his4+, his5, leu 2+, ura3+, and
trp1+. Y is his1+, his3+, his4, his5+, leu 2+, ura3+, and trp1+.
The second day after setting up the cross, we observed growth in the way of 3 colonies that grew
on the min on stains his1, his4 and P; and 7 colonies that grew on min + his plate on stains
his1(3 and one of which was at the same spot as on the min plate), his4 (3 colonies), and his5 (1
colony). On the third day, we observed no new colonies. The colonies described above that we saw

Comparing Adam And Eve In Islam And Christianity
Adam and Eve in Islam and Christianity The Bible and the Quran tell the story of the creation of
the first man, Adam and first women Eve or in Arabic Hawa. The background behind Adam And
Eve are similar but different in Islam and Christianity. It begins by telling the people how the
world started and how we as humans were created. Christians believe that Adam was made from
dust, Muslims believe that Adam was made from Soil. In the Bible, the creation of Eve says she
was the only woman created from a man. The Qur an does not say that Eve was created from
Adam s rib, but says that she was created from of like nature. The creation of Eve is not described
in the Quran. The Quran says that Eve was created for Adam to have a mate and that she was
also made from the same nature and soul. Direct quote from the Quran about woman Treat
women kindly. Woman has been created from a rib and the most curved part of the rib is the
uppermost. If you try to straighten it, you will break it and if you leave it alone, it will remain
curved. So, treat women kindly (Al Bukhari and Muslim). The rib reflects that all women differed
from Adam and was unique. The bible describes Eve made from Adams rib to be Adams
companion. Directly quoted from the bible And the rib that the Lord Godhad taken from the man he
made into a woman and brought her to the man (Genesis 2:22). They were both made to fulfill
each other and to not be alone on earth. The similarity of the two religions is that they

How Did Jackson Dbq
Jackson was not a president of the people. He was hypocritical in the promises he kept for the
people, when he created the Jacksonian Democracy . He also created the spoils system, and he
was cruel to the Cherokee, and all other Native American tribes. However, some may say that he
was a good president simply because he claimed himself to be a president of the people. After John
Quincy Adamshad become president, Jackson promised the people when he became president,
he would give them a voice and reduce the power of the central government. However, when he
was elected, he went and created the Jacksonian Democracy. This new way of government, his
way, supposedly placed the will of the people above all else, but Jackson still wanted to be very
powerful as a president. Jackson was obviously hungry for power, placing himself above the
people, breaking his promises and using the people s want for freedom to win them over. As
depicted in document C, the people began seeing this side of him too, illustrating him as King
Jackson. Above the the picture in document C, the caption Born to Command was written, and

Except, the spoils system was also created during Andrew Jackson s time as president. Using this
system, Jackson replaced all of the previous government officials with his own supporters. In the
corrupt bargain, Adams made Henry Clay his secretary of state after Clay convinced the House
of Representatives to elect Adams as president. Basically, the spoils system and the corrupt
bargain were the same thing. Because of the people that Jackson put in office with the spoils
system, it also allowed him to make more decisions, because they were all supporters of his ideas.
So, there was less resistance when he decided something because there were fewer opinions on

Research Paper On Witchcraft
Do you know what witchcraft is? Witchcraft is seeking help or guidance from any spiritual source
other than God. We see much of this in society today horoscopes, astrology, tarot cards, witchcraft,
sorcery, magic, sГ©ances, psychics, palm reading, spiritism, fortune telling, necromancy
(communicating with the dead), Chinese Zodiacs, burning candles, chants, spells, potions, charms,
the Rosary, icon bracelets, et cetera.
If it s not God s Holy Spirit, then you are dealing with the Devil. Any spirit that is not the Holy
Spirit is a familiar spirit. Anytime you hear someone talking about spiritual matters without
mentioning Jesus Christ or the Bible, run, as fast as you can. A Modernist is someone who falsely
claims to be a Puritan, an imposter. Many false prophets today masquerade as Puritans, but they ...

We can only worship God in spirit (John 4:24). Our battles in this life are ultimately against the
Devil; not flesh and blood (Ephesians 6:12). The Devil works inside the mind of the wicked, to
lead them to do horrible things (Ephesians 2:2). The Devil can t make anyone do anything, but he
influences people if they are susceptible. This is the woeful danger of making witchcraft look
innocent and fun to young people. It teaches children to invoke Satan s power. Any witches magical
power all comes from Satan.
All spiritual power comes from either God or Satan. We see this truth in the Bible, when
Pharaoh s magicians imitated the Lord s miracles wrought by the hand of Moses and Aaron
(Exodus 7:11). Satan is a master counterfeiter and disguise artist (2nd Corinthians 11:13 15).
Satan is all about deception and lies (John 8:44). There is no such thing as white witchcraft.
There s only one kind of devil... A BAD DEVIL! All forms of witchcraft are Satan s works of
darkness. It is tragic that children are being introduced to witchcraft, sorcery, magic, spells and all
sorts of demonic practices which the Bible

My Experience Of A Heartwarming Experience At A Bible Camp
I had a heartwarming experience this past summer at a Bible camp where I volunteer as a
counselor. It was my first year volunteering and I wanted all my campers to have a great time
like I always did! One of my campers was a young girl named Vivian. She had a rough start to the
week. Vivian did not wantto do any of the activities, follow the rules and she walked without a
buddy at all times. Unfortunately on top of all this, Vivian was very accident prone. The first
three days she had visited the nurse twice. On one of these visits she was checked to see if she
had a concussion. Needless to say, she was not enjoying her time so far at camp that week.
After the hard start to the week, she was not wanting to be at camp anymore and wanted to go home
. My job was to make her feel better and want to have fun! I decided to have a talk with her one
night before bedtime. We talked about how she was feeling and she had told me that she was
home sick. I suggested that she wrote a letter to her family. She got very excited and wrote a
letter, drew pictures, and put one of her crafts in the envelope to send to her parents. This idea of
mine that helped her feel better gave her the confidence to confide in me. She started to talk to me
and tell me stories about things she did back home. This made her less home sick and let her go to
sleep that night without any problems. After this night her week at camp turned around and she
only had a few small speed bumps along the way.

Abstract
The removal of phenol from aqueous solution was evaluated by batch method using two ion
exchange resins, Duolite A 171 (DLE 171) (a strong anion exchange resin) and Duolite A 368
plus (DLE 368) (a weak anion exchange resin) and a nonfunctionalized Duolite S 861 (DLE 861)
resin. The maximum removal capacity was achieved at pH 11. The removal of phenol was found
to be in the following order DLE 171 DLE 368 DLE 861. The mechanism involved in the process
was found to be both adsorption and ion exchange. The resin was characterized using FTIR and
SEM with EDAX analysis. The equilibrium data were fitted to Freundlich isotherm. The kinetics of
the sorption was found to follow pseudo second order and intraparticle diffusion models. The values
of thermodynamic parameters indicate the nature of sorption is spontaneous and exothermic.

A Long Way Gone
A Long Way Gone Ishmael Beah had a really tough life throughout his childhood and teenage
years. In his literary work, A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier, Ishmael Beah uses
symbols to underscore his central theme of oppression and/or freedom. The three symbols he used
to underscore his central theme of oppression and freedom was Ishmael s AK 47, his cassette
tapes, and the drugs he used. Ishmael s AK 47 was the most important symbol that Ishmael Beah
used to underscore his central theme. At the beginning of A Long Way Gone Ishmael was terrified
of guns. He didn t want anything to do with them. But once he started in the war against the rebels,
guns were there to comfort him. He didn t want to leave his... Show more content on

(Beah 15) The rap cassettes made him connect with his friends and family because they would
all dance and sing to them. Ishmael would resort to music when he just wanted to think or even
just relax. He would find security with his cassette tapes. When his cassette tapes were
demolished he had finally lost control of himself. A soldier took my old pants and threw them a
blazing fire.... I ran toward the fire, but the cassettes had already started to melt (Beah 110).
That was when he finally had completed his change to a whole different person. Memorizing
lyrics left me little time to think about what had happened in the war. (Beah, 163). Ishmael Beah
s rap cassette tapes had a huge impact on his life and how he acted. Without them he was no
longer himself, but a monster. The final thing that encapsulated Ishmael Beah that was a symbol
in A Long Way Gone was drugs, which particularly were marijuana and cocaine. Drugs had
change Ishmael into something he didn t want to be. Once he started on drugs he craved them
more and more until he would finally do anything and everything to get them. Drugs made him
want to kill others. They would go on huge raids and kill all the rebels just to get some more drugs.

later after killing many people and continue the movie as if we

On On Dumpster Diving. In America, While Homelessness And
On On Dumpster Diving In America, while homelessness and poverty runs rampant, while war

food for America s poorest grows ever more difficult, we, as a culture, still look upon practices
like dumpster diving as disgusting and believe them to be only practiced by the lowest and most
uneducated of American society. This is no longer a practical image of the practice or the people
behind it. As poverty is ever prevalent in the United States, many are forced to find food outside of
conventional needs, especially in a culture that exceedingly devalues assistance to the poor.

Through an understanding of the needs of the audience, practical information and anecdotes, and
philosophical discussion, Eighner brings enlightenment from the bottom up. One of Eighner s
biggest advantages in this essay is an acute understanding of the preconceptions and bad reputation
around dumpster diving and the people who do it and the needs of the audience in order to take
him, and his story, seriously. Because, as a culture, we perceive the homeless, and by extension,
those who dumpster dive, as filthy, uneducated, and simple, it is vital for Eighner to present
himself as well educated, even intellectual. He does this right from the beginning by revealing
some of his own backstory. He tells of his early interest in dumpsters and how he approached the
subject by writing to Merriam Webster to better understand the origins of the word dumpster . This
shows Eighner s intellectual approach to the subject, building his credibility as an intelligent person.
It also shows the seriousness that Eighner grants to dumpster diving, he allows the audience to
understand the issue first, through rather cold, intellectual eyes, before having to look at the messy
reality. Eighner does something very similar when he discusses the various names for dumpster
diving. This again enhances the understanding of what he prefers to cal scavenging by

Chinese Philosophy Encompasses A Myriad Of Philosophies
Chinese philosophy encompasses a myriad of philosophies that speak on religion, human nature,
tradition, how to govern and essentially how to live. Among these collections of schools of thought
are Confucianism and Toaism. While there exists both similarities and differences between the
Confucian sage and the Taoist sage their political beliefs communicate different methods of
achieving a prosperous and ethical state. However, based on the apparent adaptability and
separation from potentially inadequate socially imposed structures, the philosophical approach
introduced by Taoist thought is more favorable in creating a healthy and strong state.

What is right is already laid out in Confucian thought in the form of established ideals. Morality is
thus predefined. All members of the state must adhere to a moral law passed down from ancient
exemplars. However, a ruler with direction will have a proper functioning government, as his
example will encourage morality in others. Operating in this fashion will omit the need to enforce
laws since others will follow in their way. The ministers will function according to loyalty by
following the way, regulating wayward others.
Taoism is modeled after a living philosophy. Naturalism is practiced and the role of the
supernatural is downplayed. Ancestor worship is used as a way to pay reverence to the ancient
elders of the past to reinforce honours and values of the culture through storytelling and practice
teaching. The soul is regarded as being connected to the physical world in order to view the self as
bound to Earth. The Taoist sage is free, they follow the way and respond to situations without
prejudice regardless of circumstance. The sage practices wu wei or non action, where the sage will
essentially do nothing. Being the focal point of society, all affairs will revolve around them, their
own job being to lead through example of proper conduct. Non action is bound to the
momentariness of nature and is in tune with the instantaneousness and constant flux of nature.
Living in the moment means there is nothing to do,

Comparing Tristram To Isolt And The Love-Drink
In love stories like Romeo and Juliet, the main theme in the story is that sometimes love is worth
dying for if it is true and pure, and Shakespeare focused on writing a play in which that theme
was made obvious. In the case of Tristan and Iseult, there are many versions of their love story.
Most versions result in their deaths because they cannot live without the other; however, some
versions leave one of the two alive. Although there are many different versions, they all tell a story
similar to the ones before it. In Tristram to Isolt and The Love Drink, both authors tell the story of
Tristan and Iseult, yet both have differences like their plot and diction in order to emphasize
different, distinct themes. Both stories use a different plot scheme which highlights the different
themes that each author hoped to draw attention to. The Love Drink by Sally Bridges mainly
emphasizes the moment when Iseultand Tristan drink from the bottle and fall in love with each
other; Tristram to Isolt by Madison J. Cawein is a story in which Tristan talks to Iseult after she is
dead. Both stories focus on different parts... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

sound as if Tristan is calling his love for Iseult toxic (Cawein). The theme of love being morbid to
those with a faint grip on reality is pulled out through the way Cawein seemingly makes Tristan a
guy who loved a girl he knew would inevitably ruin his

President Andrew Jackson And The Indian Removal Act Of 1830
After the southern state stated that they wanted both political and military action on removing
Native American Indians off the southern states, President Andrew Jackson signed the Indian
removal act of 1830. They were forced to move and concede to U.S. law or leave their homelands,
which led to the Trail of Tears. When the Indians left their homeland, they suffered a long and
painful journey that they had to endure in order to be able to reach their new home in the west
which is now known as, Oklahoma. This was caused by Land hungry americans in the 19th
century that poured into the coastal south and began moving towards the Mississippi river and
Alabama. The Indian Removal act of 1830 authorized President Jackson to carry out the policy in
his first message to congress. He would be able to trade unorganized public land in the trans
Mississippi west for indian land in the east. The law required the government to negotiate removal
treaties fairly and peacefully: It did not allow the president or anyone else to coerce Native nations
into giving up their land. However, President Jackson and his government most commonly ignored
the letter of the law and forced Native Americans to vacate lands they had lived on for generations.
As white settlers continued to settle North America and push west there were numerous conflicts
with native american tribes. Andrew Jackson s policy, the indian removal act, intensified this
conflict. When jackson ignored the compromise established in

changes brought forth as a result of his teachings and writings. Luther s findings not only
transformed his own actions, but change the thought process of millions. The study of Martin Luther
is the key that unlocks the background of the Protestant Reformation and it s origins.
Introduction
Research on Martin Luther was chosen to demonstrate the importance of his works, and decisions
that not only fueled his purpose, but changed the church for generations to come. Martin Luther
propelled himself into his work and was not afraid of voicing his often strong opinion of the
Catholic Church. Luther s Ninety Five Theses provides readers his opinion of the church, calling
out failures, and known corruption of leaders within.
Foundation
Martin Luther was born on November 10th, 1483 in Eisleben, Germany. He was the son of Hans
and Margareth Luder. His father worked in a copper mine, and through years of hard work they
became fruitful. Through his own personal struggles Hans Luder did not want the same life for
beloved Martin. Education and faith played a huge role during Luther s adolescent years as he
learned Latin and law and continue to excel in these areas well into his adulthood. This
development would continue to shape Luther s beliefs and principles. In the early 1500s, Luther
was able to continue his studies near Erfurt.

Marble Building In Acropolis
According to Fred S. Kleiner (2014), the Parthenon was the Periclean s building program on the
Acropolis. This huge marble building was dedicated to Athena Parthenos though it was not a
temple because it did not have a priestess or an altar for her worship. However, it is the most
beautiful building in Acropolis. It took approximately 15 years (447 432 B.C.E) to build this
magnificent marble building, furthermore, excellent scholars visual illusion was applied into this

A statistics available from the Department of Environment reveal that 95 per cent of the tannery
industries have been built in unplanned way at the congested places of Hazaribag during the last
fifty years. At present during the peak monsoon about 21 thousand and 600 cubic meters of liquid
toxic wastes are dumped daily into the river Buriganga from the 185 tannery industries of
Hazaribag. There is no alternative way to dump this liquid toxic waste at the time of continuous
production of tannery industries.
Unfortunately a recent observation of Hazaribagh clearly shows an active decay and destruction
primarily attributed to unplanned growth and poor maintenance. This area now appears no more
than an inner city unhygienic environment. Technical compatibility is necessary to improve the

The Failure Of Edsel The Car s The Star
Ford s lack of knowledge in market demand directly caused the failure of the Edsel. The company
invested heavily in developing and producing a car with big engine. However, the reality is that
people did not want a big car that use so much gas. The introduction of the Edsel was
unsuccessful because it was a product that the market did not ask for. Besides function, people
did not like the look of the Edsel either. Since it looks very different from all the other cars in the
market, most people were not ready for such a big esthetic challenge. According to the
documentary Edsel The Car s the Star, the majority of people disked the front design extremely. If

was in the worst recession since the war. A man interviewed in the documentary said that nobody
wants to take a chance on something brand new if dollars were taken to begin with. Even though
Ford was unable to predict the recession, they could be more cautious about the economic situation
before launching a product. A company can not produce a successful product that s welcomed by
the public without listening to their customers. To avoid the failure of Edsel, Ford should have

Tort Reform Tort reform is very controversial issue. From the plaintiff s perspective, tort reforms
seems to take liability away from places such as insurance companies and hospitals which could at
times leave the plaintiff without defense. From the defendant s perspective, tort reform provides a
defense from extremely large punitive damage awards. There seems to be no median between the
two. Neither side will be satisfied. With the help of affiliations such as the American Tort Reform

My Passion For Art
I remember from the mere age of three, I would sit next to my mother in the living room corner
as she painted. Several of my mother s finished paintings decorated the walls of our apartment
and paint bottles were scattered around the ground, as if hastily tossed aside while my mother
was in search for the right color. The long, thin frame of the wooden easel matched my mother s
slender figure, as her arm moved gracefully across the blank white canvas, filling in patches with
color. I stared at the movements of my mother s paintbrush in wonder, in awe of the beauty such
a seemingly insignificant bristle could create. My mother seemed so happy, so filled with life.
After watching my mother in a world of her own, I would eagerly pull out the sketchbook my
parents had bought me and attempt to create my own masterpiece of scribbles and circles and
lines. As I grew up, and I could finally touch the top of the refrigerator without jumping, my
interest in art bloomed into a newfound passion. But as my passion for art grew, so did my
perfectionism. Perhaps my endeavor to become better and better in my talent led to
implementing higher, unreachable standards. Especially through my middle school years, my art
projects seemed to become more and more demanding. I was hesitant to even begin my work in
fear of failure. Whenever I approached a new piece of work, I would sit down at my desk, grip my
number two pencil tightly in my hand, and focus my eyes inches away from the

The Pros And Cons Of Computer Science
What is Computer Science? Is it about observing scientific experiments on a computer? Is it a type
of engineering for computers? Well to answers those thoughts, no. Computer Science is all about
the software side of computers. Coding is the key word. Running and creating programs is what
computer science is. To create software, one must know a programming language. So then the big
question is, for a computer programmer what coding language should they learn?
First off, the language C is known by many programmers as a lingua franca. A middle ground
language for coders. If coders know C, they know C++ and possibly C#. C# s syntax is similar
with C/C++ but distinct differences separate them. Microsoft created C# as a competitor to Java,
so think of this as a fork in the road for C. As stated in Wendy Logan s (2008) article, Is C dead? ,
she made the point that C is the language for test engineers because of how convenient and
effective it is. She also disclosed that C can optimize code beneficially to the coder because of
the language s greater access to the hardware and operating system. This ability leads to fine
tuning of the program size and execution speed of the compiler. The article mentions how C has
a well known community, so coders have greater access to code reuse tools. C has a specific
purpose in the industry because of Microsoft Visual Studio, it gave coders of the language a place
to develop for.

I m ready! I m ready! I m ready! I m ready! These are one of the most popular words of the
beloved absorbent and yellow and porous sea creature, SpongeBob Squarepants. I must admit that

The most notable attitude of SpongeBob is his irrepressible and inextinguishable optimism. The

The Consequences of Bringing the Past with You Immediately into Tim O Brien s short story
The Things They Carried the reader is introduced to First Lieutenant Jimmy Cross and the letters
he carried from his past back home. Throughout the story, readers are also introduced to other
items and supplies which were largely determined by necessity (O Brien 1) as well as items
deemed a luxury that each individual soldier carried with him for one reason or another. Pictures,
memorabilia, and personal items all acted as a gateway into a portal which would bring them
back home to the ones they loved if only for five minutes at a time. Although the pictures,
memorabilia and personal items of Cross and his soldiers alike, helped them recall back to an era
much more peaceful, the consequences of bringing the past with you can carry exceedingly
negative side effects.
Within the short story, the audience learns that Jimmy Cross carries letters and pictures from his
crush from back home, Martha. Multiple times within the story Jimmy Cross consults these pictures
and letters to distract himself from the war providing a bit of comfort in his harsh environment.
With progression through the story, readers find Jimmy Cross continuously reviewing the pictures
and letters from his dear Martha, letting his mind drift off thinking about her, distracting him from
his duties at hand. These distractions happen more and more often, eventually leading to the most
harrowing consequence. First Lieutenant Jimmy Cross s divergence from his important tasks at
hand, result in Ted Lavender being killed while under the supervision of Cross himself. This
being the key turning point for Cross, as he starts to realize his lapse in judgment and focus, had
directly cost the life of one of his soldiers. This resulting in him discovering that the pictures and
letters from Martha, he was using as hope for his future back home, and comfort from the issues at
hand, were the stemming source of all his problems and distractions, which ultimately cost the life
of his soldier. Because of this realization, Cross burns the pictures and letters from Martha, which
he was holding onto in hopes that she

The Impact Of Divorce On Childhood Development
The Impact of Divorce on Childhood Development Based on the Ecological Systems Theory
Gianna Marie Helmer, LPN Excelsior College Abstract The first three years of a child s life are
the most significant for growth and development, both mentally and physically. Young children
perceive situations and events that occur in their environment differently depending on their
developmental stage. Urie Bronfenbrenner is a psychologist that came up with the Ecological
Systems Theory which is a modern theory of development. The Ecological Systems Theory was
created into a model that has multiple system levels. The first level that directly impacts a child
the most is called the microsystem and this system consists of family, peers, school, and health
services. Divorce is being seen more often in society today and is happening earlier. Divorce can
be very traumatic to a child even if the divorce was mutual and as peaceful as possible; imagine
if it was a bad divorce? This puts stress and anxiety on young children and can affect their
development. More and more studies are being conducted in the last thirty years showing the
negative effects divorce has on young children. The more we find out exactly how and why it
affects children so greatly we can come up with recommendations and strategies to help deal with it
in a way that will not hinder the child s development. This paper will connect the modern day
developmental perspective with studies that have shown

Validity And Effectiveness Of Anselm s Ontological...

Essay 1 Assignment
Phil 141 Fall 2016

In this philosophical paper I will be examining the validity and effectiveness of Anselm s
Ontological Argument on the existence of God. I will begin by presenting Anselm s Ontological
Argument from the ground up. This includes the argument, basic idea, initial assumptions, Anselm s
definition of god, and Anselm s distinctions which are needed to completely understand the nature
of my argument. Furthermore, I will present concepts of logic and define what makes an argument
valid, and circular argument because they are necessary for understanding the validity of this
argument. Following, I will evaluate criticism of Guanilo on the Ontological Argument and how it
affects the argument. I will conclude by presenting my evaluation of the argument s validity and
effectiveness. I argue that Anselm s Ontological Argument fails, because the Ontological Argument
is a circular argument and relies heavily on the initial assumption which proves nothing about the
existence of god.
Before, I assesses the validity and effectiveness of Anselm s Ontological Argument, I will present
the argument how it was presented to me in class. Anselm follows a basic idea that from the very
concept of God we can prove God exists. Anselm uses the definition of God to carry this argument.
Anselm defines God as that being than which none greater can be conceived (initial assumption).
Anselm cannot carry the argument for the basic idea without the

Green Buildings And Its Effect On The Life Cycle Of A...
Green buildings will become one of the main factors to preserve our rapidly decaying
environment. There is not an easy way to define a green building. Essentially, a green building
is the effort of amplifying the positives and mitigate the negatives throughout the entire life cycle
of a building (Kriss, 2014). There are many definitions for green buildings, it is widely known as
the planning, design, construction, and operation of a building while taking into huge
considerations of energy use, water use, indoor air environment, materials used and the effect it
has on the site. The first green buildings dates back to as far as the 1970 s, when solar panels
went from experiments to reality. Green buildings were not as popular as they are todays due to
extremely high pricing. With technology rapidly growing, solar panels became cheaper and
cheaper, making it more affordable. This is the primary reason for the blooming of green
buildings today. A modern leading company named LEED, Leadership in energy and
environmental design, focuses primarily on new and effective ideas for environmentally friendly
buildings projects. With more than 60,000 commercial projects worldwide and 1.7 million square

It took what felt like an entire year to find a parking spot. We were parked in the way, way back.
As I walked in the door, there was already a huge line. I had to get a bracelet around my wrist to
show all the security guards and the people working and running the competition there that I was
there to perform. I was only 8 at the time so they Deltaplex looked huge in my little eyes. There
were posters and signs of teams surrounding you. My mom found my team sign since I was way
to little to see above everyone s head. We were all the way in the back. Right as I walked to say hi
to my team and start to stretch, I knew the craziness was already beginning.
My coach, Tina Joy, led my team and I into a special room where we began to practice our routine.
We had exactly 15 minutes to warm up out tumbling skills, stunts, jumps, pyramid, and dance.
When we got the call that the 15 minutes were up, I began to get even more nervous than I was
before. You can do this, you can do this, you ll be fine I thought over and over again to calm
myself down. We waited for almost over an hour till we got to perform. My team and I stood in
our opening positions right by the mat so we were ready to run on after the team ahead of us

Porters 5 Forces and the Domestic Aviaition Industry in...
EXECUTIVE SUMMERY
There are only two major airlines in the Australian domestic aviation market, Qantas and Virgin
Blue. Qantas has introduced a subsidiary, Jetstar, to compete directly with Virgin Blue in the low
cost carrier market and Qantas still hold the majority of the market share with 65%. Virgin Blue
continues to increase their presence in the market holding the remaining 35%.
At the end of March 2003 Virgin Blue posted a profit before tax of $158 billion, $58 billion over
their budget and over $100 billion on last year s results. Virgin Blue also received the best
EBITDAR per plane for any airline in the world, beating Qantas by $900,000. This means that the

A new entrant to the airline industry does not have any trouble with their distribution channels, as
the only distribution required is that of marketing their service, which is open to any company who
wishes to do so.
In the case of Virgin Blue there was no cost disadvantage because Virgin Atlantic had been
operating for many years and so the company was aware of how to operate an airline business and
Qantas did not have a great deal of advantage over them in the industry. Unfortunately n the airline
industry any one who wishes to enter is required to invest a great deal of money, as it is an
expensive industry. The economies of scale and capital requirements may deter new business who
are just starting to enter but an existing business such as the Virgin empire are able to invest the
money into starting out in the airline industry in Australia.
The biggest challenge facing any new entrants and Virgin Blue is competing with the brand
identification of Qantas and the following that they have from the Australian public. When Virgin
Blue first entered the market they were also competing with Ansett for customers and since the
collapse of Ansett, Virgin Blue and Qantas had to compete for their customers. Qantas has
established a frequent flyer program to keep

Inventory management has two sections: stock picking / inventory replacement and shipping
/ receiving. Both will require inventory software as well as a tie in to the customer database.
Hardware requirements are: Bar code scanners, permanently mounted for the shipping and receiving
area and mobile RF scanners for the stock pickers and inventory replacement personnel. Additional
shipping/receiving hardware includes standard PC I/O terminals, and printers for shipping labels.
Accounting
The accounting software is the center of the business. It will require standard accounting software,
and shall operate as an immediate update system. Point of sale data shall directly access
inventory. When a sale is made dollars and taxes are calculated and logged, inventory is reduced
and marked as pending. When the picker has removed the book from its holding area, the item is
marked as picked waiting for delivery. If the book is shipped, the item is marked as delivered
when the shipping label is printed. If a book is purchased, dollars and tax are calculated and
logged; inventory is increased and marked pending; and once the picker has placed the item for
storage the item is marked stored and available for sale. Accounting will require a PC terminal and

The Utilization Of Social Media Marketing
This report provides a detailed analysis of the significant similarities and differences between the
utilization of social media between Business to Business (B2B) marketers and Business to
Consumer (B2C) marketers. This analysis is necessary to combat the widely accepted notion that
social media marketing campaigns primarily serve B2C marketingonly. To contest this false
stereotype, this paper will justify reasons that B2B social media marketing is not only pertinent, but
is also crucial in the success of companies to establish and maintain relations with customers in
modern times.
Additionally, previous research has shown that B2B marketers will use media targeted at
professionals whereas their B2C counterparts tend to utilize more sites targeted to the general
public for engaging in one on one dialogue with their customers. Moreover, B2B professionals
tend to use relationship oriented social media technologies more than B2C professionals for the
purpose of prospecting, handling objections, and after sale follow up. (Moore, Jesse N.,
Christopher D. Hopkins, and Mary Anne Raymond) This report will outline directives B2B
marketers can take to better understand their customers and their needs, develop their brand, and
efficiently use real time data to gather analytics and improve relationships. These directives derive
from tactics B2C marketers have incorporated in their social media marketing practices.
Specifically, this report will examine Coca Cola s successful B2C

Bend It Like Beckham Gender Essay
The film Bend it Like Beckham, directed by Gurinder Chadha, shows two eighteen year old
females from different cultures with a desire to become professional soccer players. Parminda
Nagra plays the role of Jesminder Jess Bhamra, a British Indian, who bends the rules of her culture
to play soccer with Jules, played by Keira Knightley, who comes from an English family. Both
females wanted to become professional soccer players, but their mother despised it. Not only does
it focus on soccer, but it shows how the role of genderaffects the characters, how cultural
differences interfere as the film progress, and how sexism is an issue. By the end, it shows
approval of the oppositional gaze. In U.S. media, women are underrepresented regardless of the
form (238). In the first scene, Jess dreams about playing with Beckham and making the winning
shot, and it displays the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Near the end of the movie, Mr. Bhamra finally speaks on how he feels about Jess s actions. He says:
Those English players threw me out of their club like a dog. I never complained. On the
contrary, I vowed I would never play again. Who suffered? Me. I don t want Jess to suffer. I don t
want her to be like her father and accept situations... I want her to fight, and I want her to win. I
have seen her play, and she is brilliant. (Bend it Like...)
In this scene, Chadha forces the silenced to develop and to allow critical judgments and
assessments. It does not discipline the gaze; instead, it praises the oppositional gaze as essential
because it can transform the norm into what it can and should be. The director Chadha reflects
Jess because Punjabi women are portrayed as housewives and not soccer women; furthermore,
women of color are allowed to be objects of the gaze, but directing the camera is rare. Chadha
takes a position white men are normally represented; however, she informs viewers to bend their
gaze and see women of

The Amateur Ethos In Late 19th Century England
The ideology of the Amateur Ethos in late 19th century England was considered among scholars
as games for games sake, personal satisfaction and not for material gain (Baker 2004). This
concept was the catalyst for segregating the amateur player from the professional tradesman, as a
result of the fear of unfair competition ultimately brought about by men who made a career out of
their game(Allison 1980). This is quite different to today s amateurism concept where the
significance of intrinsic motivation has devalued due to the increased importance of extrinsic
rewards (Frey Eitzen 1991). On the other hand modern day amateurism in sportcan be associated
with the maintenance of good health, preventing rates of obesity through community involvement
and school youth programs integrating non remunerated values into sporting initiatives (Pate 2006).

It is agreed among scholars, that the objective of amateurism in the nineteenth century English
society was games for games sake, a pleasure of personal satisfaction and good spirit (Baker 2004).
It is apparent that the amateurs participated in the games with no extrinsic motivation, and no
obligation to play. They played for themselves, with no notion of financial gain (Baker 2004).

The games were competitive in a contained manner, and the amateur wouldn t take the
outcome too seriously (Baker 2004). For many, the idea of amateurism included the principle of not
seeking livelihood from the athletic exercises, implying that the games were played for the sake of
prestige and personal contentment (Allison 2001)
. The idea of amateurism in sport in
nineteenth century England was also a point of segregation against the working class professionals

A Second Or Foreign Language Learner Needs For Gain Knowledge
2.0 Introduction A second or foreign language learner needs to gain knowledge in and about the
target language. In order to do that , one needs to know how to build morphemes into words and
words into sentences (linguistic or grammatical competence). Yet, this knowledge is not the end of
learning a language. While grammatical competence may be the essence of learning a new
language; on its own, it is not enough. A learner also needs to know how to use that knowledge
appropriately in a social context. One needs to know about speech act,(e.g., requesting, suggesting,
arguing, etc.) and politeness (sociolinguistic or pragmatic competence). In addition to these
competencies, other components are also required. A learner needs to know how to produce a
largely cohesive and coherent text, either in writing or in speaking (discourse competence). As a
learner might not understand the total underlying system of a language, s/he needs to know how to
repair the breakdown of a conversation (strategic competence). In this chapter, I will define the term
communicative competence, explain the difference between competence and performance, and
shed light on four theories of communicative competence, i.e., Chomsky s theory, Hymes s theory ,
Widdowson s theory, and Halliday s theory. In the second section, five frameworks of
communicative competence will be focused on, i.e., Canale and Swain s model, Bachman and
Palmer s model, Celce Murcia s framework, the common European framework

Cause Of Flooding In Texas And Oklahoma
In May of 2015, a slow moving storm producing record amounts of rainfall and tornados caused
flash floods across Texas and Oklahoma causing mass destruction and many causalities.
Flooding in Texas and Oklahoma does not happen often in most areas. Some areas have not seen
rainfall totals like what was seen in May for more than 50 years. The flooding in May of 2015
was the most widespread and record breaking. In some areas houses were ripped from their
foundations. In Wimberley, Texas, a family was still in the house as it washed away, killing a
mother and her two children. Trees were uprooted as well as lakes, rivers and creeks overflowed
their banks. Streets and interstates were shut down because of the flooding. A tornado, touching

Companionship In John Steinbeck s Of Mice And Men
Humans Crave Companionship When one infant in a pair of prematurely born twins drew near
death soon after birth, the doctors tied everything to save her, but the only thing that could improve
her health was sharing the same crib with her sister. When they were placed in the same crib, the
infant s health immediately started to improve and she became healthy and strong(Townsend). This
story of twin sisters shows just how important companionship is for people to thrive in life. With
her twin there, the infant s health immensely improved. This is why companionship is important:
People need it to live long and happy lives. Without companions, humans will feel isolated,
depressed, and even have a 50% increase in chances of premature death(Harvard Women s Health
Watch). John Steinbeck demonstrates this point in Of Mice and Men, which follows the life of two

the two friends are in the woods, heading to their new work at a ranch in Soledad. When they
stop by a river to settle down for the night, George tells Lennie, If them other guys gets in jail
they can rot for all anybody gives a damn. But not us, (Anderson 14). In this quote, George is
saying that he and Lennie are different than all the other workers on the ranch because they have
each other. Unlike the other guys on the ranch, George and Lennie are companions: Loyal
friends who care about and protect each other. George is saying that because they are
companions, they will always have someone who watches out for them. If one of them gets
locked up in jail, the other will get them out. They help each other because they care about the
other s well being. Even if one of them gets in trouble, the other one has their back. If George and
Lennie didn t have each other, life would be much harder for

Breast Cancer Advertisement Analysis
Breast Cancer has seemed to be popularized in the more recent years by society. We have seen
trends evolve from trying to bring attention to this deadly cancer. When we see the color pink we
automatically associate it to the popular movement trying to bring awareness to this cancer; heck
we even have a whole month dedicated to it. But is this enough? Does professional sports teams
wearing pink arm bands and catchy shirts saying save the tatas really motivate women to be aware
of the symptoms that come along with breast cancer. Instead of being overexposed to the
commercialized support of breast cancerI believe women should be educated on how to identify the
symptoms of breast cancer. In first my public service announcement, a poster that... Show more

According to Stacy Simon, who did a study for the National Cancer Society, we are seeing more
cases of breast cancer in younger women just in the last decade. She states that The finding is
especially troubling because breast cancer in younger women tends to be more aggressive and
has lower survival rates than breast cancer in older women. (Simon) In my next PSA I bring
attention to this troubling fact. As a young women in college, breast cancer is the last thing on
my mind and I am sure I am also speaking on behalf of a majority of the young female
population. My public service announcement is four young women taking a picture in a mirror,
we see a lot of these types of photos with young adults today. For the picture I decided to blur out
the actual image and turn the the picture black and white. I did this because I wanted the
message on the picture to stand out more than the picture itself. The text on the top of this
picture is Looking cute isn t the only thing young women should be worried about! and at the
bottom of the picture it says Breast cancer can affect every age, check yourself! I chose the first
saying because it seems like in this day in age young adults are more worried about their
appearances and taking the perfect selfie, when in reality that shouldn t be the only thing on there
mind. I do believe this ad may be a little extreme in the sense that breast cancer is

Augustine’s Conception of Sin in Confessions
In this paper I will write about Augustine and his thoughts and ideas on sin in the Confessions,
where sin originates and whether or not I believe that Augustine s conception of sin has a place in
modern society. From all of this I will conclude that through Augustine s work and findings,
Augustine s conception of the humanperson and their human actions are somewhat relevant today,
due to the fact Augustine set a standard for what human nature is, known as the ability to desire,
think and do, yet, people see the human differently today than Augustine did. At the same time his
ideas of original sinand how the evil nature of humansis associated with original sin are still very
relevant today.
Augustine is our exemplar to human nature, as well as the guideline to what it means to be human.
He demonstrates both the good and bad qualities that humans obtain and show that not everything
can always be all good. In the Confessions Augustine talks about how he knows about his own
imperfections. He states At one time in adolescence I was burning to find satisfaction in hellish
pleasures (Augustine, Confessions, pg. 24). Many of his imperfections have brought a new way of
thinking about the human being. In the Confessions, Augustine focuses on his autobiography and
how sin comes from inside us humans. From this we have learned about the term introspective
conscience and how it depicts when someone is constantly looking at him or herself and looking at
the motivation to sin.

The current ratio provides the best single indicator of the extent, which assets that are expected to be converted to cash fairly quickly cover the claims of short term creditors. However, consider the current ratio from the perspective of a shareholder. A high current ratio could mean that the company has a lot of money tied up in nonproductive assets. The return on equity, ROE, is as high as 20.69% (above 15%). It illustrate that the RL Corporation uses the investors money pretty effectively. As of return of assets, equals to 13.10%, which reveals how much profit a company earns for every dollar of its assets. • 3. Throughout Our History, Infectious Diseases Have Posed Throughout our history, infectious diseases have posed the biggest challenge on human survival. It s hard to believe that people once assumed that foul odors caused diseases or that one becomes ill due to the presence of evil spirits . It s also hard to imagine that there was a time in which it was seldom that a parent would see all of their children grows up into adulthood. The fight against disease developed with the consolidation of the germ theory, which also offered a massive forewarning for most individuals. The germ theory, alone, played a massive role in the entire revolution of medicine. The theory acquainted people of the reality of germs and the magnitude of hygiene. This revolution was eternal and the most crucial... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Medicine men or priests represented healers due to the fact that they were believed to have special relationships to the supernatural realm. Exorcisms, spells, and divination were common practices to cure those infected by disease, or evil spirits . Modern vocabulary still reflects these beliefs through phrases such as being attacked by an illness, or to fight off infections. The beliefs of the supernatural controlling the health of individuals was unanimous all throughout the ancient world and confirmed by medical writings from Egypt, China, India, and Mesopotamia. The history behind the evolution of the germ theory of disease can be traced back to speculations in 300 BC. Hippocrates of Cos, Greek physician known as the father of western medicine, attributed disease to vapors that arose from decomposing material or swampland. Hippocrates believed infectious diseases formed through atmospheric miasmatic theory of disease, which was that diseases were caused by miasma, which was a noxious form of bad air . Hippocrates s theory was influential up until the late nineteenth century; the time when the relationship between disease and microbes was confirmed. The contagiousness of leprosy, beginning in the early centuries of the Christian era, played a major roll in the study of disease transmission. The book of Leviticus, in the Old Testament, is one of the earliest writings to notice a system in controlling ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Acupuncture Treated Patient Who Received A Traumatic Brain... This case report illustrates the improvement of an acupuncture treated patient who received a traumatic brain injury from a snowboarding accident. The patient progressed from initially not being able to walk, having difficultly with speech, and poor eyesight, to where he has now regained significant motor function, speech and vision and has returned to snowboarding. This case shows the beneficial effects of acupuncture when tailored to the patient s condition. Through a core acupuncture protocol plus specific points added to address the patient s ongoing concerns, a patient can make great advances. This case adds to the medical literature by demonstrating the wide reaching effects of acupuncture on traumatic brain injury(TBI) treatment. Past studies have focused on medical services post TBI with the use of acupuncture leading to increased cerebral blood flow and improvement with insomnia, but not an overall return to function. This case follows the significant progression of a patient from initial injury through subsequent acupuncture therapy over a four year period. Introduction The leading cause of death for people age 1 45 years old in North America is traumatic brain injury (TBI). With slightly higher prevalence in men and an increase in frequency before the age of 30, TBI is a significant cause of morbidity. TBI that occurs during adolescence and early adulthood can lead to increased challenges with physical, emotional, and mental function during recovery. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. O, N, And B. D. H. J. T s Mutation One day after setting up the replica plates, we observed thick growth in all the intersections of Min + His and thick growth everywhere the strains were placed (see figure above), which suggests that the matings and the cellular transfer were successful, respectively. We observed thick growth on the min plate at intersection of P and his1, P and his4, and P and his5 while observing no growth on his3 and P, which suggest P s mutation is within the same geneas his2. For the sake of space, see table Min Plate Intersectional Growth for O, N, and Y stains complementation test. Therefore, we conclude that P s mutation is in the same gene as his3, O s mutation is in the same gene as his1, N s mutation is in the same gene as his5, and Y s mutation is in the same gene as his4. Thus, the genotype P is his1+, his3, his4+, his5+, leu 2+, ura3+, and trp1+. O is his1, his3+, his4+, his5+, leu 2+, ura3+, and trp1+. N is his1+, his3+, his4+, his5, leu 2+, ura3+, and trp1+. Y is his1+, his3+, his4, his5+, leu 2+, ura3+, and trp1+. The second day after setting up the cross, we observed growth in the way of 3 colonies that grew on the min on stains his1, his4 and P; and 7 colonies that grew on min + his plate on stains his1(3 and one of which was at the same spot as on the min plate), his4 (3 colonies), and his5 (1 colony). Woman has been created from a rib and the most curved part of the rib is the uppermost. If you try to straighten it, you will break it and if you leave it alone, it will remain curved. So, treat women kindly (Al Bukhari and Muslim). The rib reflects that all women differed from Adam and was unique. The bible describes Eve made from Adams rib to be Adams companion. • 9. How Did Jackson Dbq Jackson was not a president of the people. He was hypocritical in the promises he kept for the people, when he created the Jacksonian Democracy . He also created the spoils system, and he was cruel to the Cherokee, and all other Native American tribes. However, some may say that he was a good president simply because he claimed himself to be a president of the people. After John Quincy Adamshad become president, Jackson promised the people when he became president, he would give them a voice and reduce the power of the central government. However, when he was elected, he went and created the Jacksonian Democracy. This new way of government, his way, supposedly placed the will of the people above all else, but Jackson still wanted to be very powerful as a president. Jackson was obviously hungry for power, placing himself above the people, breaking his promises and using the people s want for freedom to win them over. • 10. Research Paper On Witchcraft Do you know what witchcraft is? Witchcraft is seeking help or guidance from any spiritual source other than God. We see much of this in society today horoscopes, astrology, tarot cards, witchcraft, sorcery, magic, sГ©ances, psychics, palm reading, spiritism, fortune telling, necromancy (communicating with the dead), Chinese Zodiacs, burning candles, chants, spells, potions, charms, the Rosary, icon bracelets, et cetera. If it s not God s Holy Spirit, then you are dealing with the Devil. Any spirit that is not the Holy Spirit is a familiar spirit. Anytime you hear someone talking about spiritual matters without mentioning Jesus Christ or the Bible, run, as fast as you can. A Modernist is someone who falsely claims to be a Puritan, an imposter. Many false prophets today masquerade as Puritans, but they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We can only worship God in spirit (John 4:24). Our battles in this life are ultimately against the Devil; not flesh and blood (Ephesians 6:12). The Devil works inside the mind of the wicked, to lead them to do horrible things (Ephesians 2:2). The Devil can t make anyone do anything, but he influences people if they are susceptible. This is the woeful danger of making witchcraft look innocent and fun to young people. It teaches children to invoke Satan s power. Any witches magical power all comes from Satan. All spiritual power comes from either God or Satan. We see this truth in the Bible, when Pharaoh s magicians imitated the Lord s miracles wrought by the hand of Moses and Aaron (Exodus 7:11). Satan is a master counterfeiter and disguise artist (2nd Corinthians 11:13 15). Satan is all about deception and lies (John 8:44). There is no such thing as white witchcraft. There s only one kind of devil... A BAD DEVIL! All forms of witchcraft are Satan s works of darkness. • 12. My Experience Of A Heartwarming Experience At A Bible Camp I had a heartwarming experience this past summer at a Bible camp where I volunteer as a counselor. It was my first year volunteering and I wanted all my campers to have a great time like I always did! One of my campers was a young girl named Vivian. She had a rough start to the week. Vivian did not wantto do any of the activities, follow the rules and she walked without a buddy at all times. Unfortunately on top of all this, Vivian was very accident prone. The first three days she had visited the nurse twice. On one of these visits she was checked to see if she had a concussion. Needless to say, she was not enjoying her time so far at camp that week. After the hard start to the week, she was not wanting to be at camp anymore and wanted to go home . My job was to make her feel better and want to have fun! I decided to have a talk with her one night before bedtime. We talked about how she was feeling and she had told me that she was home sick. I suggested that she wrote a letter to her family. She got very excited and wrote a letter, drew pictures, and put one of her crafts in the envelope to send to her parents. This idea of mine that helped her feel better gave her the confidence to confide in me. She started to talk to me and tell me stories about things she did back home. This made her less home sick and let her go to sleep that night without any problems. After this night her week at camp turned around and she only had a few small speed bumps along the way. The maximum removal capacity was achieved at pH 11. The removal of phenol was found to be in the following order DLE 171 DLE 368 DLE 861. The mechanism involved in the process was found to be both adsorption and ion exchange. The resin was characterized using FTIR and SEM with EDAX analysis. The equilibrium data were fitted to Freundlich isotherm. The kinetics of the sorption was found to follow pseudo second order and intraparticle diffusion models. The values of thermodynamic parameters indicate the nature of sorption is spontaneous and exothermic. This is no longer a practical image of the practice or the people behind it. One of Eighner s biggest advantages in this essay is an acute understanding of the preconceptions and bad reputation around dumpster diving and the people who do it and the needs of the audience in order to take him, and his story, seriously. Because, as a culture, we perceive the homeless, and by extension, those who dumpster dive, as filthy, uneducated, and simple, it is vital for Eighner to present himself as well educated, even intellectual. He does this right from the beginning by revealing some of his own backstory. He tells of his early interest in dumpsters and how he approached the subject by writing to Merriam Webster to better understand the origins of the word dumpster . This shows Eighner s intellectual approach to the subject, building his credibility as an intelligent person. It also shows the seriousness that Eighner grants to dumpster diving, he allows the audience to understand the issue first, through rather cold, intellectual eyes, before having to look at the messy reality. Eighner does something very similar when he discusses the various names for dumpster diving. This again enhances the understanding of what he prefers to cal scavenging by ... Chinese Philosophy Encompasses A Myriad Of Philosophies Chinese philosophy encompasses a myriad of philosophies that speak on religion, human nature, tradition, how to govern and essentially how to live. Among these collections of schools of thought are Confucianism and Toaism. Operating in this fashion will omit the need to enforce laws since others will follow in their way. The ministers will function according to loyalty by following the way, regulating wayward others. Taoism is modeled after a living philosophy. Naturalism is practiced and the role of the supernatural is downplayed. Ancestor worship is used as a way to pay reverence to the ancient elders of the past to reinforce honours and values of the culture through storytelling and practice teaching. Comparing Tristram To Isolt And The Love-Drink In love stories like Romeo and Juliet, the main theme in the story is that sometimes love is worth dying for if it is true and pure, and Shakespeare focused on writing a play in which that theme was made obvious. In the case of Tristan and Iseult, there are many versions of their love story. Most versions result in their deaths because they cannot live without the other; however, some versions leave one of the two alive. Although there are many different versions, they all tell a story similar to the ones before it. In Tristram to Isolt and The Love Drink, both authors tell the story of Tristan and Iseult, yet both have differences like their plot and diction in order to emphasize different, distinct themes. Both stories use a different plot scheme which highlights the different themes that each author hoped to draw attention to. Luther s findings not only transformed his own actions, but change the thought process of millions. The study of Martin Luther is the key that unlocks the background of the Protestant Reformation and it s origins. Introduction Research on Martin Luther was chosen to demonstrate the importance of his works, and decisions that not only fueled his purpose, but changed the church for generations to come. Martin Luther propelled himself into his work and was not afraid of voicing his often strong opinion of the Catholic Church. Luther s Ninety Five Theses provides readers his opinion of the church, calling out failures, and known corruption of leaders within. Well to answers those thoughts, no. Computer Science is all about the software side of computers. Coding is the key word. Running and creating programs is what computer science is. To create software, one must know a programming language. So then the big question is, for a computer programmer what coding language should they learn? First off, the language C is known by many programmers as a lingua franca. A middle ground language for coders. If coders know C, they know C++ and possibly C#. C# s syntax is similar with C/C++ but distinct differences separate them. Microsoft created C# as a competitor to Java, so think of this as a fork in the road for C. As stated in Wendy Logan s (2008) article, Is C dead? , she made the point that C is the language for test engineers because of how convenient and effective it is. She also disclosed that C can optimize code beneficially to the coder because of the language s greater access to the hardware and operating system. This ability leads to fine tuning of the program size and execution speed of the compiler. The article mentions how C has a well known community, so coders have greater access to code reuse tools. C has a specific purpose in the industry because of Microsoft Visual Studio, it gave coders of the language a place to develop for. Reading further in Wendy s article, she wrote about the ... With progression through the story, readers find Jimmy Cross continuously reviewing the pictures and letters from his dear Martha, letting his mind drift off thinking about her, distracting him from his duties at hand. These distractions happen more and more often, eventually leading to the most harrowing consequence. First Lieutenant Jimmy Cross s divergence from his important tasks at hand, result in Ted Lavender being killed while under the supervision of Cross himself. This being the key turning point for Cross, as he starts to realize his lapse in judgment and focus, had directly cost the life of one of his soldiers. This resulting in him discovering that the pictures and letters from Martha, he was using as hope for his future back home, and comfort from the issues at hand, were the stemming source of all his problems and distractions, which ultimately cost the life of his soldier. • 34. The Impact Of Divorce On Childhood Development The Impact of Divorce on Childhood Development Based on the Ecological Systems Theory Gianna Marie Helmer, LPN Excelsior College Abstract The first three years of a child s life are the most significant for growth and development, both mentally and physically. Young children perceive situations and events that occur in their environment differently depending on their developmental stage. Urie Bronfenbrenner is a psychologist that came up with the Ecological Systems Theory which is a modern theory of development. The Ecological Systems Theory was created into a model that has multiple system levels. The first level that directly impacts a child the most is called the microsystem and this system consists of family, peers, school, and health services. Divorce is being seen more often in society today and is happening earlier. Divorce can be very traumatic to a child even if the divorce was mutual and as peaceful as possible; imagine if it was a bad divorce? This puts stress and anxiety on young children and can affect their development. More and more studies are being conducted in the last thirty years showing the negative effects divorce has on young children. The more we find out exactly how and why it affects children so greatly we can come up with recommendations and strategies to help deal with it in a way that will not hinder the child s development. This paper will connect the modern day developmental perspective with studies that have shown ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Riley started a rigorous training program for Owens in special morning sessions before school. Within a year, Owens was running the 100 yard dash in eleven seconds and in 1928 he set two world records for his age group in the high jump, at six feet, and the long jump, at twenty two feet, eleven and three quarters inches. Tyler Skeen Essay 1 Assignment Phil 141 Fall 2016 Frank In this philosophical paper I will be examining the validity and effectiveness of Anselm s Ontological Argument on the existence of God. I will begin by presenting Anselm s Ontological Argument from the ground up. This includes the argument, basic idea, initial assumptions, Anselm s definition of god, and Anselm s distinctions which are needed to completely understand the nature of my argument. Furthermore, I will present concepts of logic and define what makes an argument valid, and circular argument because they are necessary for understanding the validity of this argument. Following, I will evaluate criticism of Guanilo on the Ontological Argument and how it affects the argument. I will conclude by presenting my evaluation of the argument s validity and effectiveness. I argue that Anselm s Ontological Argument fails, because the Ontological Argument is a circular argument and relies heavily on the initial assumption which proves nothing about the existence of god. Before, I assesses the validity and effectiveness of Anselm s Ontological Argument, I will present the argument how it was presented to me in class. Anselm follows a basic idea that from the very concept of God we can prove God exists. Anselm uses the definition of God to carry this argument. Anselm defines God as that being than which none greater can be conceived (initial assumption). Anselm cannot carry the argument for the basic idea without the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There is not an easy way to define a green building. Essentially, a green building is the effort of amplifying the positives and mitigate the negatives throughout the entire life cycle of a building (Kriss, 2014). There are many definitions for green buildings, it is widely known as the planning, design, construction, and operation of a building while taking into huge considerations of energy use, water use, indoor air environment, materials used and the effect it has on the site. The first green buildings dates back to as far as the 1970 s, when solar panels went from experiments to reality. Green buildings were not as popular as they are todays due to extremely high pricing. With technology rapidly growing, solar panels became cheaper and cheaper, making it more affordable. This is the primary reason for the blooming of green buildings today. A modern leading company named LEED, Leadership in energy and environmental design, focuses primarily on new and effective ideas for environmentally friendly buildings projects. With more than 60,000 commercial projects worldwide and 1.7 million square feet certifying every day, they are one of the leading groups for green buildings. • 43. The Utilization Of Social Media Marketing This report provides a detailed analysis of the significant similarities and differences between the utilization of social media between Business to Business (B2B) marketers and Business to Consumer (B2C) marketers. This analysis is necessary to combat the widely accepted notion that social media marketing campaigns primarily serve B2C marketingonly. To contest this false stereotype, this paper will justify reasons that B2B social media marketing is not only pertinent, but is also crucial in the success of companies to establish and maintain relations with customers in modern times. Additionally, previous research has shown that B2B marketers will use media targeted at professionals whereas their B2C counterparts tend to utilize more sites targeted to the general public for engaging in one on one dialogue with their customers. Moreover, B2B professionals tend to use relationship oriented social media technologies more than B2C professionals for the purpose of prospecting, handling objections, and after sale follow up. (Moore, Jesse N., Christopher D. The Amateur Ethos In Late 19th Century England The ideology of the Amateur Ethos in late 19th century England was considered among scholars as games for games sake, personal satisfaction and not for material gain (Baker 2004). This concept was the catalyst for segregating the amateur player from the professional tradesman, as a result of the fear of unfair competition ultimately brought about by men who made a career out of their game(Allison 1980). This is quite different to today s amateurism concept where the significance of intrinsic motivation has devalued due to the increased importance of extrinsic rewards (Frey Eitzen 1991). • 46. A Second Or Foreign Language Learner Needs For Gain Knowledge 2.0 Introduction A second or foreign language learner needs to gain knowledge in and about the target language. In order to do that , one needs to know how to build morphemes into words and words into sentences (linguistic or grammatical competence). Yet, this knowledge is not the end of learning a language. While grammatical competence may be the essence of learning a new language; on its own, it is not enough. A learner also needs to know how to use that knowledge appropriately in a social context. One needs to know about speech act,(e.g., requesting, suggesting, arguing, etc.) and politeness (sociolinguistic or pragmatic competence). In addition to these competencies, other components are also required. A learner needs to know how to produce a largely cohesive and coherent text, either in writing or in speaking (discourse competence). As a learner might not understand the total underlying system of a language, s/he needs to know how to repair the breakdown of a conversation (strategic competence). In this chapter, I will define the term communicative competence, explain the difference between competence and performance, and shed light on four theories of communicative competence, i.e., Chomsky s theory, Hymes s theory , Widdowson s theory, and Halliday s theory. • 50. Augustine’s Conception of Sin in Confessions In this paper I will write about Augustine and his thoughts and ideas on sin in the Confessions, where sin originates and whether or not I believe that Augustine s conception of sin has a place in modern society. From all of this I will conclude that through Augustine s work and findings, Augustine s conception of the humanperson and their human actions are somewhat relevant today, due to the fact Augustine set a standard for what human nature is, known as the ability to desire, think and do, yet, people see the human differently today than Augustine did. At the same time his ideas of original sinand how the evil nature of humansis associated with original sin are still very relevant today. Augustine is our exemplar to human nature, as well as the guideline to what it means to be human. He demonstrates both the good and bad qualities that humans obtain and show that not everything can always be all good. In the Confessions Augustine talks about how he knows about his own imperfections. He states At one time in adolescence I was burning to find satisfaction in hellish pleasures (Augustine, Confessions, pg. 24). Many of his imperfections have brought a new way of thinking about the human being. In the Confessions, Augustine focuses on his autobiography and how sin comes from inside us humans. From this we have learned about the term introspective conscience and how it depicts when someone is constantly looking at him or herself and looking at the motivation to sin. ...
