I. Introduction:
A. Attention Getter: In 2012 Starbucks made over $13.29 billion dollars. With that amount of money
you could buy eight billion, eight hundred and sixty million of their cake pops. Though that seems like
enough cake pops to satisfy anyones appitite I highly doubt that most of us have thirteen billion
dollars to spend. B. Credibility: According to newspressnow.com, last updated May 8th 2012 The start

If I wanted a picture I d buy a painting.
The second part is where the fun part actually starts, you re going to add one or two heaping spoonfuls
of regular white frosting to the crumbled up cake you have.
Keep adding frosting until you get the consistency pretty doughy, but still firm enough to handle.
After kneeding the dough thoroughly you re going to want to roll the dough out inch size balls.
A normal box of cake mix should make about 20 cake pops.
After all the balls are rolled out, they should go in the fridge or freezer for about a half an hour to help
them set. After those agonizing thirty minutes are up, you re able to take the cake pops out of the
refrigerator or freezer, and then melt some almond bark.
After dipping the stick in the almond bark, you re going to want to stick it about halfway through the
now official cake pop .
The chocolate on the stick is to help the stick stay sturdy while you actually eat the sweet treat.
When you ve finished putting the sticks into each of the cake balls, you should put them back into the
refrigerator in order to help the chocolate solidify.
Transition:
The last part we re going to focus on is probably the most simple. Decorating the cake pop.
Using the previously melted almond bark, you can simply dip the cake pop in and spread a thin layer
of chocolate all around the pop.
While the chocolate is still wet, feel free to decorate in any way you d like. For today I just used
simple sprinkles but there

THE CONTEXT OF TALENT MANAGEMENT
As South Africa embarks on it s journey into the second decade of democracy, few can argue that
tremendous strides have been made on the political, economic, social and legislative fronts. Much of
our legislation and policy directions are amongst the most progressive in the world. However, many
challenges remain. One of these is the shortage of professional and managerial skills and the
imbalances in terms of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This manifests itself at 2 levels. Firstly, firms soon reach a state of overload. Deadlines are missed,
standards and quality of work drop and a vicious cycle emerges and feeds on itself. This is a very
common phenomenon with small and medium sized professional firms. They do not have the capacity
to manage their growth or the peaks and valleys associated with the modern business world. Secondly,
the firm is so consumed with meeting operational deadlines that it loses it s ability to keep up to date
with latest best practice, legislation or other issues demanding new skills. In this case clients will soon
recognise that mistakes are made due to lack of currency of skills. These are some of the more visible
risks to firms who do not pay attention to the attraction, growth and retention of key talent. Beyond
the visible, other manifestations of the problem arise. Staff morale declines because leadership talent
is absent and this energy drop is transferred to the client. Internal politics and protection of territory or
unwillingness to share information and surface problems affect the functioning of the firm. All of
these things affect the ability of the organisation to offer great service and take advantage of
opportunities to grow.

Questioning Identities, Unnecessary Deaths Syrian Governmental Problems and Refugees: In For
Those Who Remain in Syria, Daily Life is a Nightmare (2015), Maher Samaan asserts that the Syrian
government is creating more chaos for their country than the actual insurgent groups are. Samaan
illustrates his view of the Syrian government (they are doing a terrible job of keeping their citizens
safe) by citing statistics that illuminate how the governmental air strikes are causing significantly
more deaths than the terrorist groups they are supposedly fighting, accomplishing practically nothing
aside from killing their own citizens. The examples he gives help to demonstrate the gravity of the
situation and provide a sense of reality to his claims. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They clearly are happy with all that they have done in their own life if they have no other regrets, so
there is no reason for them to want to be a different person. Further, everyone is who they are meant to
be, and they do what they are meant to do. Everyone s life has a purpose and every person is relied
upon by someone else, even if they do not realize it. People affect other people s lives in ways they
cannot comprehend, and if a person wants to be someone else, then they are taking away from all of
the lives that they have previously touched in the past. A person may want to be someone else because
they seem to have a better life than the one that they have, however, they could have problems or
difficulties that are unseen by everyone else. No one s life is perfect. Everyone faces challenges, and
everyone has rewards. Some challenges may seem harder than others and some rewards may seem
better than others, but that is based purely upon an outsider s perspective. Different people value
different things in life and, as a result, will view things with possibly inverse perspectives. So
something may seem to be excellent to one person but terrible to another. Also, some things may have
an outwardly appearance of being good or bad, but could actually be the opposite in the circumstances
given. An outsider looking in on another person s life would not be able to tell directly whether it was
good or bad and may get the wrong idea and decide they want what that person has. However, they
may not realize that that experience probably had a lot of background going into it that they do not
quite understand and may not want to get into. Overall, a person should be happy with the life that

Module 12 Nutrition And Health Essay
Module 12 discussed the form of energy used by the body and how to measure the used energy, as
well as discussing the causes and impacts of obesity. Energy comes in different forms, and described
by the first law of thermodynamics, energy can be converted from one form of energy into another.
Kilocalories are the form of energy found in food which is converted by the body into the usable form
of energy, ATP. Total energy expenditure is the amount of energy or kilocalories a person needs to
consume to maintain their body weight. The total energy expenditure is the sum of the kilocalories lost
or burned during daily activities, the basal metabolic rate and the thermic effect of food. The basal
metabolic rate is the amount of energy the body ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Obesity is commonly measured by using the body mass index, however body weight, waist
circumference, and weight to height ratios are other measures that can be used to determine obesity.
Obesity can be caused by decrease physical activity, increased food intake, and genetic determinants
that can affect energy consumption and/or energy expenditure. Obesity can cause various health
problem which can include an increased risk of diabetes mellitus type II, hypertension, high LDL, and
cardiac disease. A nonmedical way to lose weight is to make the energy input less than the energy
output, so the body is not storing excess energy in the form of fat. The approaches of weight loss
modify the energy input by eating a lesser amount of food, taking a drug to inhibit macronutrient
absorption, surgically decreasing the size of the stomach, and/or by taking a drug that suppresses the
appetite. If weight is lost too quickly by drastically reducing the amount of kilocalories consumed,
then it can cause cardiac complications, excessive loss of potassium and proteins from the body,
increase uric acid which can cause gallstones, and sudden death. When a person loses weight at a
healthy rate, it can decrease the risk factors that are caused from

Women In Pleasantville
One of my favorite movies that taught me the most about the roles of women in the United States is
Pleasantville directed by Gary Ross. The 1950s and 60s have always been an interesting time period
within women s history for me. In that time period, women were homemakers where their job would
be to cook, clean, and take care of their families. It is so interesting to me because that is not at all how
my family life is now. Pleasantville depicts the life of women in that era by telling the story of two
teens who are brought into the world of Pleasantville where they take on the roles of Bud and Mary
Sue Parker. In this world, everything is black and white and their lives are seen as perfect family.
Nothin ever went wrong in Pleasantville, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As most of our popular culture, everything is always changing. What is in while we are teenagers will
be ancient in 10 years. The same goes for the wardrobes of women. I think that the clothing options
have had a positive progression because of the acceptance of female sexuality. In the early 1920s
women were extremely modest by showing little to know skin in their daily lives. Women were
expected to be made up all of the time and that is something that I couldn t even imagine. Being a
Marian girl, there is nothing I love more than throwing my hair up every morning with no makeup. As
you move into the 60s and 70s women began wearing skirts, dresses, and girdles. YUCK. There is
nothing wrong with a more modest look, the problem I have with clothing is that even when mothers
were cleaning the house they were expected to be in dresses or other types of uncomfortable, but nice
looking clothing. It has been cool to see how slowly skirts have gotten shorter and more skin is being
shown, but the central issue is the mindset of seeing women as sexual object rather than a person.
Although in our time no type of clothing is surprising, there is still a sense of judgement from men and
even older women when you wear something that makes your look like a slut . It saddens me that
people really can t look past what you are wearing. I hope the future for women is going to be

Tom Ripley is a talented imitator, it seems the only person Tom cannot quite comprehend is himself.
Ripley isolates himself from people by being non isolated, he finds himself in very social situations,
yet he does not quite understand how one should be in social interactions. However people find
themselves attracted to him because he is so great at acting and reading people and learning how to
manipulate them into believing that he is not actually socially alienated, he somehow becomes the life
of the party. Tom Ripley was such a fantastic impostor he would sometimes find himself lost in one of
his characters that he was putting on. In the film it starts with him playing the piano at a wedding
filling in for a young man that went to Princeton, after meeting Mr. Greenleaf he kept up the same
character from Princeton. Tom had been very friendly last summer with a Princeton junior who had
talked of nothing but Princeton, so that Tom had finally pumped him for more and more, foreseeing a
time when he might be able to use the information (Highsmith, 21). Ripley was always remembering
information from different people he met assuming that if need be he could pull out that information
in sticky situations. One thing about Tom Ripley was that he found himself in sticky situations more
often then some, this left him feeling paranoid that people were after him at all times. This is no way
to live life, especially when the way you want to live your life is behind the curtains.

Evolution of Information Technology and its Emergence in India ITM IB PP6 EXECUTIVE
SUMMARY Information Technology today is what runs businesses worldwide. It is what drives the
industries and is an irreplaceable element of our routine lives. But where did it all begin? Why has it
gained so much importance over time, so much so that we study an entire subject on it? Through this
paper we have traced the path of evolution of IT from its nascent stages, globally as well as from the
Indian perspective. We have tried to take into account the tremendous growth of the IT sector in India

The margins of these IT service players are very high and their growth rate has been envied by other
sectors. According to a Nasscom forecast, there will be 21 24 % growth rate in software and services

The software and services exports segment grew by 29 % to register revenues of $40.4 billion this
year from $31.4 billion in last year. So from statistics point of view, everything is fine for this
industry. It will employ 4 million people in 2008 and account for 7% of gross domestic product and
33% of India s foreign exchange inflows, says the Nasscom report. However, there are quite some
challenges which the IT industry faces. i.) Resource retention Indian IT sector has become an HR
manager s nightmare. Their biggest challenge is marinating good people in organisation and keeping
the attrition rate in control. ii.) Lack of trained people The supply and demand of quality engineers
who are capable of working in the IT field is having a huge gap. Companies have started looking for
additional options of hiring science graduates and providing them adequate training to enable them to
work in IT sector, but still the quality of talent is declining which in turn means lack of quality in

Literary Analysis of David and Goliath
A Character Analysis of David and Goliath When studying any piece of literature there are many
different methods and techniques that can be used. The Bible, in specific, is often referred to as a
source of moral code, hope, and answers to social, ethical, and political questions. However, this
incredibly influential book can also be read as if it were any other novel. The events, settings, and
characters can all be evaluated for what they are, forgetting the notion that they are from a religious
text. This approach is called narrative criticism. When regarding to the Bible in this way, we do not
need to know any historical information or focus on seeking a deeper theological meaning. Instead,
the stories are evaluated in terms of how ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At this point, it is hard to side with either the Philistines or the Israelites since neither show desirable
qualities. Goliath, though strong and powerful, shows nothing beyond that. He shows no faith in God
and is entirely dependant on his fancy armor and swords. Goliath has no other source of strength other
than his physical stature and possessions. David, on the other hand, is depicted as a character that is
lacking brute strength and weaponry. We are told through the voice of Goliath that he is only a youth,
ruddy and handsome in appearance (1 Samuel 17: 42). It is evident that David is meant to appear as an
average kid with no exceedingly superior or spectacular qualities. This simple portrayal of David is
significant because it sets in motion the development of realistic empathy from the implied reader
towards David. It is important for the implied reader to feel empathetic towards David because even
though David kills Goliath in the end, we are meant to view him as a hero, not a murder. Building a
connection between the implied reader and David makes this possible. Though David represents a
seemingly common boy at the time, he has several qualities that make him stand out. However, these
character traits are never simply told to us. Instead, the implied author uses David s actions, decisions,
and beliefs to

Army Officers Learn From The Military Decision Making Process
C171 Argumentative Essay Army officers learn from the onset of their careers the important role they
play as problem solvers. The various military institutions tasked with providing education to the
officer corps spend vast amounts of time teaching and reinforcing the Army Problem Solving Process.
With that being said, Army officers at all ranks would be better served if they were able to incorporate
the eight elements of thought as defined by Drs. Paul Elder into the military decision making process.
Although encompassed within the Army problem solving process, officers often fail to identify and

When Army leaders identified the headgear as a problem, they failed to articulate their reasoning and
ultimate objectives behind the transition, thereby, creating confusion amongst the troops. The failures
to take into account other points of view, especially from units to which the beret was an exclusive
item, made the public relations campaign a nightmare. Army leaders improperly assumed the beret
switch would be minimally disruptive and generally accepted. To the contrary, displeased Soldiers
from units like the Army Rangers marched from Fort Benning, Georgia to the U.S. Capital to voice
their displeasure over the issue. From a practical standpoint, many Soldiers found the beret switch ill
conceived. In order to don the beret, it generally required the Soldier to have their hands free so that
they could properly place and shape the beret onto their head. It also provided no protection from the
elements like the patrol cap offered and cost millions of extra dollars to field. The implications of this
decision would have been obvious had they been considered during the Problem Solving Process. In
response to a scathing survey commissioned years later by Sergeant Major of the Army, Raymond
Chandler, the Army reversed course and reverted back to the patrol cap. Had the proper questions been

A Brief Note On The Insurance And Insurance Essay
Introduction
Insurance is am agreement between two parties in which one party promises to compensate for future
losses in return for a reoccurring payment. It protects an entity (such as an individual or company)
against unexpected losses. Some forms of insurance are compulsory by law whilst others are optional.
An insurance policy is a contract between the insured and the insurer. In the case of a certain event,
the insurer agrees to pay the insured a lump sum of money in exchange for a monthly premium.
It is critical to insure your business. It ensures that you and your business are secure from any
unexpected events. Business insurance protects your bottom line, and therefore enables you to grow
your business without the worry of an unplanned occurrence affecting revenue. South African
insurance companies offer comprehensive and unique insurance packages to business to suit

The Economic Crisis Of Japan
Introduction Japan enjoyed an Asia s economic miracle that the world witnessed a country that started
out poor and had become the second largest industrial power during the postwar era. However, a large
bubble economy had been irritated by the growth, especially in the stock and asset price markets, the
economy suffered a near catastrophic crash caused by speculative mania(Hall and Von Wiesen, 2014).
The Japanese economy has stagnated after the collapse of bubble economy. The economic situation
has been in a wide deflation. In the last two decades, Japanese government took several measures to
solve the deflation problem and spur the economy. There are fiscal expansion, conventional monetary
measures, Yen depreciation, bank recapitalisation, Quantitative Easing, and three arrows of
Abenomics. But the situation did not change much, the balance sheet of the country shows continuous
economic recession. The paper is organized in the following way. Section 2 briefly describes the
prolonged deflation in Japan. Section 3 evaluates policies proposed by the government and gives some
reasons of unsuccessful policies. Section 4 summarizes the policy implementation. Background The
long lasting deflation exert a tremendous influence in Japan, the persistent decrease in the level of
consumer prices shrunk profits and investments in corporate, wages and consumption in individuals.
This leaded to a further price decline. Such vicious cycle has caused the recovery of Japanese

Nicolo Paganini Research Paper
This Weekend I attended a youth conference at the beach. As a dog follows a bone so do teenagers
follow the music, we listened to a song called Paganini by Andy Mineo. I turned to the person beside
me and asked, what s a Paganini and even though we were all dancing to the music none of us had a
clue who or what Paganini was or is. In the end we googled him to find out that he was, in reality, a
musician and a composer from the classical and Romantic era.
Nicolo Paganini was born in Genoa, Italy on October twenty seventh, seventeen eighty two. He was
born into a family of six children, his parents were Antonio and Teresa Paganini. Although growing up
with little money to spare he still managed to obtain violin lessons from the best of the time;
Ferdinando Paer, Giovanni Servetto, Giacomo Costa, Alessandro Rolla, and Gasparo Ghirettito. His
talent was so evident that legend has it that his mother sold his soul to the devil for his ability to play
music. Guitarramagazine.com, a website, explained his appearance as this, He was tall and thin, had a

three remaining. The story demonstrates the strength of his ability to endure even when others would

Inquiry Intention Essay
Inquiry Intention:
I come from Republican baby boomer parents, whose parents before them were Republicans and so
on. Growing up, I had strict political ideas fused into my spongy childhood brain without any
realization on my part. I m from a very liberal part of the country, and I remember in middle school,
discussing politics in my civics class, and being confused as to why people would get so mad about
the ideas I held as true. My parents talked about this stuff, how could what they say be lies or arrogant
responses to social issues? I soon realized through discussion with my peers that a lot of the stuff I
said I believed in I really didn t agree with and that my views were vastly different from my parents
and those before them. From there I went super radical liberal, spewing my views at my parents telling
them they were wrong! After countless arguments with them, I gave up. They weren t going to change,
and in my cynical teenage head I decided that this was true of everyone. Nobody changes, nothing
changes, everything sucks. Then I gave up on not only changing people, but politics in general. I just

Current Legal Status Of Assisted Suicide Essay
The current legal status of assisted suicide in England and Wales is inadequate and incoherent . If
assisted suicide were legalised, strict safeguards must be in place, to avoid new legislation echoing the
uncertain law currently in place and prevent it from going down a slippery slope of potential abuse.
1.2 Current Law on Assisted Suicide in England and Wales
Under the current law, it is an offence under Section 2 of the Suicide Act 1961 , for a person to carry
out an act, capable of encouraging or assisting the suicide or attempted suicide of another individual
with the intention of doing so/ to do so ; the maximum penalty is 14 years imprisonment; it is triable
on indictment. All forms of euthanasia, including assisted suicide are illegal in England and Wales at
present. It appears from case law and previous unsuccessful Bills that the legal position of assisted

The current law is that a doctor s intention must not be to end life but to alleviate the patient s
suffering. It is strictly prohibited for a doctor or nurse to assist or encourage suicide and the policy
now suggests prosecution is more likely if the suspect was acting in the medical profession, and the

Dover Beach Tone
Dover Beach is a poem that was written by Matthew Arnold which describes a speaker s view on faith
slowly fading from the world in which he lives. The primary purpose of this poem is to use imagery to
paint a picture of the dying religious presence in the world that the speaker finds himself in. This is the
central message that Matthew Arnold is trying to get across to his audience. An excellent example of
how Arnold translates this to the reader is how the tone of the first eight lines and the tone of the final
three lines of the poem differ from each other. The first eight lines of Dover Beach sets the initial tone
for the beginning of the poem. They are used to paint a picture within the reader s head and to present

The City Of The Mercantile City
1. Within the last few centuries, cities as have evolved to take on the features that are used today to
identify the makings of what is a great city. As cities shifted from the concept of the political city to
the mercantile city and finally the industrial city, traditional political, economic and social patterns
began to take on new forms and functions that transformed them to become the urbanized spaces they
are now. Major early cites began in the form of the political city, a place that was the functioning
center of the state or empire. Often populated by the bureaucratic ruling class, the city was regarded as
a space for elite. As the apex of the state, cities served as nexus of trade. A crossing ground for people,
goods, and ideas. As this network of exchange transforms the common concept of the city, merchants
slowly gained status and were allowed to move in. Gradually the once exclusively aristocratic setting
evolved into what became known as the mercantile city where the market became the core of the city.
No longer primarily a place of consuming elites, but a hub of new complexity, cities not only drew in
commodities in the form of imports but also dynamic and profound ideas and people that reshaped
cities as they were seen previously giving rise to Henri Lefebvre s notion of heterogeneity. Cities were
mirroring social and cultural diversity with material processes; a picture of modernity as old ties were
being replaced by newer ones. Thus began the

Dramatic Irony In Shakespeare s King Richard III
An unfavourable representation of the king and his court In the beginning of Act 2 Scene1 of
Shakespeare s King Richard III, everyone is in a room in King Edward s palace. Edward sent a letter

but no one knows about it. This is the first and only scene that Edward will appear in. He is sick and
expects to die so he is trying to make peace between Queen Elizabeth, her son Dorset, her brother
Rivers, and Hastings, and Buckingham. He needs to ensure that his kingdom does not fall apart after
he passes away and that the power still stays with his family. To achieve this, Edward gets three of the
Woodvilles, Rivers, Queen Elizabeth, and Dorset, to swear an oath with Hastings. This passage paints
a very unflattering picture of the king and his court: an egoistic king, and two faced nobles, through
religious language and dramatic irony. Edward starts off the scene by congratulating himself with

it is proven that Edward s reconciliation failed when the Woodville family didn t claim the throne, but

as a powerful and religious king but his big ego prevents him from seeing how deceitful his court is.

Topic: Graphene
In 1924, British Physicist John Desmond Bernal determined the structure of graphite at the Davy
Faraday Laboratory at the Royal Institution in London. In his paper (Bernal, 1924) (1), Bernal wrote
about how the carbon atoms are arranged in a honeycomb lattice with free electrons allowing graphite
to conduct electricity. He also suspected that graphite can be made up of single layer plane carbon
atoms. Hence, leading to graphene stacks becoming graphite.
In 1946, Canadian Physicist Philip Russel Wallace was interested in finding out the properties of
graphite. At that point of time, due to limited ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Graphene was also theorized by chemist Linus Pauling in 1960 when he was guessing what would the
properties and behaviors of a single layer of carbon atoms be like. In his book (Pauling, 1960) (3), he
explained the reason on why graphene would have strong bonds. This was largely due to the carbon
atoms sp2 orbitals and the flat two dimensional shape.
With advances in the scientific world, graphene was finally able to be observed through the
transmission electron microscope. At first, it was a few layers of graphene, but eventually G. Ruess
and F. Vogt was able to observe a single layer of graphene. In 1962, Chemist Hanns Peter Boehm also
observed graphene under an electron microscope. However, no one at that point of time knew how to
extract out graphene as whenever they tried isolating or creating it; graphene always interacts with the
surface and hence results in its properties being able to be measured accurately. Interestingly, despite
all of this research and testing, no one actually termed the word graphene . It was only in 1994, after
about 30 years since Boehm and his team isolated and identified graphene that he authored the
International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry that formally defines that these single layer carbon
atoms were termed graphene , following the ene suffix used for fused polycyclic aromatic
hydrocarbons (Hanns Peter Boehm, 1994) (4).

Whether a person likes or dislikes the works of Lord Alfred Tennyson, most would agree that he was
one of the most influential writers of his time period. Tennyson grew up in a wealthy family never

poetry. Tennyson succeeded Wordsworth as Poet Laureate in 1850; he was appointed by Queen
Victoria and served 42 years. Tennyson s works were melancholic, and reflected the moral and
intellectual values of his time, which made them especially vulnerable for later critic. Alfred, Lord

when they buried him, the little port / Had seldom seen a costlier funeral. IDYLLS OF THE KING
(1859 1885) dealt with the Arthurian theme, and THE ANCIENT SAGE (1885) and AKBAR S
DREAM (1892) testified his faith in the redemption offered by love. Despite his pessimism about the
human condition, the poet believed in God. In the 1870s Tennyson wrote several plays, among them
poetic dramas QUEEN MARY (1875) and HAROLD (1876). In 1884 he was created a baron.
Tennyson died at Aldwort on October 6, 1892 and was buried in the Poets Corner in Westminster
Abbey. Soon he became the favorite target of attacks of many English and American poets who saw
him as a representative of narrow patriotism and sentimentality. Later critics have praised again
Tennyson. T.S. Eliot has called him the great master of metric as well as of melancholia and that he
possessed the finest ear of any English poet since Milton. 1

Example Of Nursing Physical Assessment
The patient is a 45 year old man who had GI surgery 4 days ago. He is NPO, has a nasogastric tube,
and IV fluids of D51/2saline at 100 mL/hr. The nursing physical assessment includes the following:
alert and oriented; fine crackles; capillary refill within normal limits; moving all extremities,
complaining of abdominal pain, muscle aches, and cottony mouth; dry mucous membranes, bowel
sounds hypoactive, last BM four days ago; skin turgor is poor; 200 mL of dark green substance has

calcium.
4.) The physician is planning to place a percutaneous central line to infuse TPN. Which site is
recommend and why?
A percutaneous central line is entered into the patient s subclavian vein. Because TPN solution is
concentrated it is better to have CVC access in the subclavian vein so the solution has less distance to
travel to its destination. This reduces the risk of the line clotting or damaging the vein.
4b.) What are the nurse s responsibilities for placement of the central line?
The nurse is responsible for positioning the patient and should assess the patient throughout to see
how well he is tolerating it. If the patient is on a heart monitor, the nurse should monitor vital signs
and heart rate as the catheter is being put in for any fluctuations. Afterword s, the nurse should assess
for complications or adverse reactions like pneumothorax. Make the patient comfortable and listen to
bilateral breath sounds. Obtain a stat XRAY to verify correct placement.
The assessment includes: Date and time of procedure, name of provider, site of insertion, type of fluid

Analysis Of Cosi Fan Tutte
Avtaran Jain Cosi Fan Tutte Review Many have heard the saying that art does not have a language
barrier. However, there are times when the expression above fails to hold true for a performance. It in
during these times, that the unison of the audience breaks, and a dichotomy forms. My recent
experience with the play, Cosi Fan Tutte was somewhat similar to the events described above.
Although Cosi Fan Tutte attempts to establish itself in the hearts of the crowd through its talented and
experienced cast, it ultimately fails due to its tediously repetitive song structure and narrow intended
audience. The adeptness and dexterity of an individual have always been fundamental talents to look
for when viewing a performance. These individuals are the one that help the event advance to success.
When it comes to the qualities mentioned above, the cast of Cosi Fan Tutte definitely possess most.
Because Cosi Fan Tutte is a performance written by Mozart, it comes as no surprise that the level of
singing and acting required is highly demanding even for veterans in the industry. Yet, despite all these
hurdles, the cast of the performance is able to captivate and delight the audience through its
outstanding vocal finesse and entertaining characterization. Ferrando, played by Carlos Feliciano and
Guglielmo, played by Eli Glick are the stars of the show, displaying their level of musical acumen
through songs such as Una bella serenata and E voi ridete which require a vocal

Summary Of The Struggle Between White Women And White Women
The first article, published in 1993, deals with the struggle of poor white women after the civil rights
movement. The article focuses on the life of women and black men during the Ku Klux Klan era.
In this article Hodes gives examples of the brutally violence when black men and especially white
women were targeted by the KKK. Even white women had to endure the violence acts by the Klan,
because the protection of white women was not only about the race, but also by class.
Hodes focuses especially on the sexual liasion between white women and black men. As a punishment
Klansmen practiced horrific sexual mutilation on this white women.

The Components Of Wine Prices
Components of Wine Prices When people walk in a wine shop or grocery store s wine aisle, there are
often hundreds of wines with different price on display. The consumer may wonder what is the
difference between a thousand dollar wine and a twenty dollar wine. On the bottle of wine, a typical
label shows a lot of information. How to use those informations to evaluate the true value of wine
definitely is a challenge. Even though consumer can easily find the quality rating of wine which
published by various wine writers and critics; however, the wine writers opinion can influence
consumer perceptions. Therefore, analysis the internal and external impact on wine prices helps
consumer make a wise decision. According to a wine marketing research in Australian Marketing
Journal, wine s brand name, geographic region, grape types, fermentation method and vintage date are
the main components that affect wine prices (Ling and Lockshin 19). Knowing where a bottle of wine
comes from, what types of grape used and the reputation of its winery can help consumer have an idea
how much it worth. Wine is produced in many countries throughout the world, but only a few of
countries has developed a wine brand in order to obtain benefits from this industry (Aranda, Gomez
and Molina 2057). Therefore, building brand image is a necessary step for wineries to increase
reputation and competitiveness. Successful wineries focus on providing customer satisfaction in order
to create higher reputation.

The Characteristics Of The Native Americans
Introduction Humans in nature are curious and this leads into finding or creating extraordinary things
that may one day be value or question by many. As early civilizations emerge, the beginning of many
wonders were developed and with great accuracy. Although there was a lack of technology, as we have
today, one wonders how some items may have been developed. The Native Americans are just one
particular example to analyze. Despite the lack of the tools we have today, their artwork is impeccable
and with great accuracy. Their art work and constructions leave one to ponder on how those items
were developed. Furthermore, one can also wonder on how records were kept. The number system
that we have today was not available to them. Yet, they were able to have some sense of counting. In
addition, Native Americans placed importance on specific numbers and this can be seen in both art
and their activities. Patterns and Shapes The need to create and construct goes far beyond what one
can imagine. It is in human nature to be curious and to develop or create based on the observations of
the world around us. In fact, shapes and patterns emerge in nature organically (Rudman 2007). Native
Americans development of geometric shapes is still a mystery to many. Yet, by analyzing the world
around us and trying to create based on observations and creativity leads into our desire to mimic
nature itself. Designs and patterns on everyday life items were utilized by Native

Percy Lavon Julian was born on April 11, 1899 in Montgomery, Alabama, and on April 19, 1975,

no high schools at the time of Julian s childhood that would accept black students. Instead of giving up
on his education, he went on to college at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, taking high
school courses at night to keep up with his peers. Julian ended up graduating first in his class with
honors as a Phi Beta Kappa. Julian was then accepted to Harvard University where he finished his

Army Mandatory Essay
When it comes to the topic of military service being mandatory, most of us would readily agree that it
s a debatable topic. Where this argument usually ends, however, is on the question of violating free
will. Whereas some are convinced that making military service mandatory offers good opportunities
and promotes national unity, others maintain that it violates free will because it doesn t give them an
option. Though I concede that a person might not want to be in the military and shouldn t be forced to,
I still insist that making military service mandatory can help people make a better step in life, and
promote national unity. When it comes to military promoting nation unity, people don t think of the
many ways it can show that our country cares about standing strong together, and making sure that we
all stand by one another to fight for this country. According to List of Pros of Military Service ,
Mandatory military service promotes national unity by allowing citizens to learn and train together,
creating that shared experience of having served in the military (1). Basically this statement is saying
that people who serve in the military have a bond, so those who have never served in the military don t
understand this bond. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The military isn t just fighting for our country, its showing we are a national unity, and all citizens are
equal. I agree with the pros rather than the cons, because they make better points. If military service
was mandatory again, children who need discipline wouldn t have a choice, and would finally get a
chance to realize what respect it. I will continue to concede that military service may violate free will,
but I will also state it can help people make a better step in

Book Of Watchers Research Paper
In this paper, I will argue that the Book of Watchers portrays the fallen angels as corrupt and evil,
while Noah depicts the Watchers as heroes with great intentions.
The Book of the Watchers expanded upon Genesis 6:4, where the sons of God , against their better
judgement, married mortal women and eventually had ravaging children. Many of these angels then
revealed secrets to their new wives, including how to make swords of iron and weapons and shields
and breastplates and every instrument of war (Enoch 8:1). Noah is a modern movie loosely inspired by
the Biblical story of Noah s Ark. Throughout the first half of the movie, the Watchers were constantly
interacting with Noah and his crew. While it wasn t explicitly stated who taught Noah ... Show more

In the Book of Watchers, the Watchers s offspring inaptly created by the fallen angels and their wives,
referred to as giants, eventually devastated the earth, filling it with sin and destruction. Not only did
the giants steal all of the food and other resources available, they also began killing men and eating
them as well. In response to the wickedness, God warned Noah that there would soon be a flood to rid
the world of evil. In Enoch 10:4 15, Raphael, Gabriel, and Michael were also sent to punish those who
had done wrong. Punishments included being bound, covering them with darkness, destroying them,
and general torture. The fallen angels were continuously disciplined until judgement day. If the
Watchers hadn t come to earth and reproduced, this trouble would have been avoided. But these events
existed to ultimately give a reason for why the flood occurred. Without all of the wrongdoing, there
would be no purpose for the flood. In Noah, conversely, the giants serve a completely different
purpose. Here, the Watchers were angels sent to Earth to help humans survive after the fall of Adam
and Eve. Following his dreams where he was underwater, Noah finds out that the flood will soon
transpire. A forest then appears, along with the Watchers, whose main purpose was to help Noah
gather wood to finish the ark. Prior to completion of the ark, Tubal Cain and his

Childcare Subsidy Case Study
Generally, childcare subsidy policies are associated with the quality of care children receive in two
ways. First, in states with more generous subsidies more children were enrolled in formal childcare
and in center care. The subsidy recipients gained access to more formal care through increased
purchasing power (Rigby, Ryan, Brooks‐Gunn, 2007). Besides, childcare subsidies were designed as
work supports for low income mothers, with little attention to quality of care, nonetheless, subsidies
could be used for purchasing high quality care (Rigby et al.). As a result, the welfare policies boosted
employment that led children to spend increased time in non parental care (Crosby, Gennetian,
Huston, 2005).
That being the case, Antle, Frey, Barbee, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

that pre K programs serving 4 year olds required teachers to have college degrees in early childhood
education and mandated small class sizes and child to teacher ratio, may not be enough to guarantee
that children learned in classrooms. However, young children in pre K classrooms learned more when
teachers interacted with them in stimulating and emotionally supportive ways (Mashburn et

Essay about Demonstrative Cake Pop Speech Outline For Demonstration Speech Topic: Cake Pops General Purpose: To demonstrate Specific Purpose: To demonstrate to my audience how to make a delicious and simple cake pop. Thesis: I will be demonstrating how to make a I. Introduction: A. Attention Getter: In 2012 Starbucks made over $13.29 billion dollars. With that amount of money you could buy eight billion, eight hundred and sixty million of their cake pops. Though that seems like enough cake pops to satisfy anyones appitite I highly doubt that most of us have thirteen billion dollars to spend. B. If I wanted a picture I d buy a painting. The second part is where the fun part actually starts, you re going to add one or two heaping spoonfuls of regular white frosting to the crumbled up cake you have. Keep adding frosting until you get the consistency pretty doughy, but still firm enough to handle. After kneeding the dough thoroughly you re going to want to roll the dough out inch size balls. A normal box of cake mix should make about 20 cake pops. After all the balls are rolled out, they should go in the fridge or freezer for about a half an hour to help them set. After those agonizing thirty minutes are up, you re able to take the cake pops out of the refrigerator or freezer, and then melt some almond bark. After dipping the stick in the almond bark, you re going to want to stick it about halfway through the now official cake pop . The chocolate on the stick is to help the stick stay sturdy while you actually eat the sweet treat. When you ve finished putting the sticks into each of the cake balls, you should put them back into the refrigerator in order to help the chocolate solidify. Transition: The last part we re going to focus on is probably the most simple. Decorating the cake pop. Using the previously melted almond bark, you can simply dip the cake pop in and spread a thin layer of chocolate all around the pop. While the chocolate is still wet, feel free to decorate in any way you d like. For today I just used simple sprinkles but there ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

THE CONTEXT OF TALENT MANAGEMENT As South Africa embarks on it s journey into the second decade of democracy, few can argue that tremendous strides have been made on the political, economic, social and legislative fronts. Much of our legislation and policy directions are amongst the most progressive in the world. However, many challenges remain. One of these is the shortage of professional and managerial skills and the imbalances in terms of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This manifests itself at 2 levels. Firstly, firms soon reach a state of overload. Deadlines are missed, standards and quality of work drop and a vicious cycle emerges and feeds on itself. This is a very common phenomenon with small and medium sized professional firms. They do not have the capacity to manage their growth or the peaks and valleys associated with the modern business world. Secondly, the firm is so consumed with meeting operational deadlines that it loses it s ability to keep up to date with latest best practice, legislation or other issues demanding new skills. In this case clients will soon recognise that mistakes are made due to lack of currency of skills. These are some of the more visible risks to firms who do not pay attention to the attraction, growth and retention of key talent. Beyond the visible, other manifestations of the problem arise. Staff morale declines because leadership talent is absent and this energy drop is transferred to the client. Internal politics and protection of territory or unwillingness to share information and surface problems affect the functioning of the firm. All of these things affect the ability of the organisation to offer great service and take advantage of opportunities to grow. Talent Management 3 BUILDING THE EMPLOYMENT BRAND Building an employment brand or reputation is as important in the war for talent as building a reputation or brand for clients.

People affect other people s lives in ways they cannot comprehend, and if a person wants to be someone else, then they are taking away from all of the lives that they have previously touched in the past. A person may want to be someone else because they seem to have a better life than the one that they have, however, they could have problems or difficulties that are unseen by everyone else. No one s life is perfect. Everyone faces challenges, and everyone has rewards. Some challenges may seem harder than others and some rewards may seem better than others, but that is based purely upon an outsider s perspective. Different people value different things in life and, as a result, will view things with possibly inverse perspectives. So something may seem to be excellent to one person but terrible to another. Also, some things may have an outwardly appearance of being good or bad, but could actually be the opposite in the circumstances given. An outsider looking in on another person s life would not be able to tell directly whether it was good or bad and may get the wrong idea and decide they want what that person has. Energy comes in different forms, and described by the first law of thermodynamics, energy can be converted from one form of energy into another. Kilocalories are the form of energy found in food which is converted by the body into the usable form of energy, ATP. Total energy expenditure is the amount of energy or kilocalories a person needs to consume to maintain their body weight. The 1950s and 60s have always been an interesting time period within women s history for me. In that time period, women were homemakers where their job would be to cook, clean, and take care of their families. It is so interesting to me because that is not at all how my family life is now. Pleasantville depicts the life of women in that era by telling the story of two teens who are brought into the world of Pleasantville where they take on the roles of Bud and Mary Sue Parker. As most of our popular culture, everything is always changing. What is in while we are teenagers will be ancient in 10 years. The same goes for the wardrobes of women. I think that the clothing options have had a positive progression because of the acceptance of female sexuality. In the early 1920s women were extremely modest by showing little to know skin in their daily lives. Women were expected to be made up all of the time and that is something that I couldn t even imagine. Being a Marian girl, there is nothing I love more than throwing my hair up every morning with no makeup. As you move into the 60s and 70s women began wearing skirts, dresses, and girdles. YUCK. There is nothing wrong with a more modest look, the problem I have with clothing is that even when mothers were cleaning the house they were expected to be in dresses or other types of uncomfortable, but nice looking clothing. It has been cool to see how slowly skirts have gotten shorter and more skin is being shown, but the central issue is the mindset of seeing women as sexual object rather than a person. Although in our time no type of clothing is surprising, there is still a sense of judgement from men and even older women when you wear something that makes your look like a slut . It saddens me that people really can t look past what you are wearing. I hope the future for women is going to be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Ripley isolates himself from people by being non isolated, he finds himself in very social situations, yet he does not quite understand how one should be in social interactions. However people find themselves attracted to him because he is so great at acting and reading people and learning how to manipulate them into believing that he is not actually socially alienated, he somehow becomes the life of the party. Tom Ripley was such a fantastic impostor he would sometimes find himself lost in one of his characters that he was putting on. In the film it starts with him playing the piano at a wedding filling in for a young man that went to Princeton, after meeting Mr. Greenleaf he kept up the same character from Princeton. Tom had been very friendly last summer with a Princeton junior who had talked of nothing but Princeton, so that Tom had finally pumped him for more and more, foreseeing a time when he might be able to use the information (Highsmith, 21). Ripley was always remembering information from different people he met assuming that if need be he could pull out that information in sticky situations. One thing about Tom Ripley was that he found himself in sticky situations more often then some, this left him feeling paranoid that people were after him at all times. The Bible, in specific, is often referred to as a source of moral code, hope, and answers to social, ethical, and political questions. However, this incredibly influential book can also be read as if it were any other novel. The events, settings, and characters can all be evaluated for what they are, forgetting the notion that they are from a religious text. This approach is called narrative criticism. We are told through the voice of Goliath that he is only a youth, ruddy and handsome in appearance (1 Samuel 17: 42). It is evident that David is meant to appear as an average kid with no exceedingly superior or spectacular qualities. This simple portrayal of David is significant because it sets in motion the development of realistic empathy from the implied reader towards David. It is important for the implied reader to feel empathetic towards David because even though David kills Goliath in the end, we are meant to view him as a hero, not a murder. The failures to take into account other points of view, especially from units to which the beret was an exclusive item, made the public relations campaign a nightmare. Army leaders improperly assumed the beret switch would be minimally disruptive and generally accepted. To the contrary, displeased Soldiers from units like the Army Rangers marched from Fort Benning, Georgia to the U.S. Capital to voice their displeasure over the issue. From a practical standpoint, many Soldiers found the beret switch ill conceived. In order to don the beret, it generally required the Soldier to have their hands free so that they could properly place and shape the beret onto their head. It also provided no protection from the elements like the patrol cap offered and cost millions of extra dollars to field. The implications of this decision would have been obvious had they been considered during the Problem Solving Process. As cities shifted from the concept of the political city to the mercantile city and finally the industrial city, traditional political, economic and social patterns began to take on new forms and functions that transformed them to become the urbanized spaces they are now. Major early cites began in the form of the political city, a place that was the functioning center of the state or empire. Often populated by the bureaucratic ruling class, the city was regarded as a space for elite. As the apex of the state, cities served as nexus of trade. A crossing ground for people, goods, and ideas. As this network of exchange transforms the common concept of the city, merchants slowly gained status and were allowed to move in. Gradually the once exclusively aristocratic setting evolved into what became known as the mercantile city where the market became the core of the city. No longer primarily a place of consuming elites, but a hub of new complexity, cities not only drew in commodities in the form of imports but also dynamic and profound ideas and people that reshaped cities as they were seen previously giving rise to Henri Lefebvre s notion of heterogeneity. With advances in the scientific world, graphene was finally able to be observed through the transmission electron microscope. At first, it was a few layers of graphene, but eventually G. Ruess and F. Alfred, Lord Tennyson was born in Somersby, Lincolnshire. His father, George ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the poem Enoch Arden, Philip Ray and Annie Lee grow up together. Enoch wins her hand. He sails abroad and is shipwrecked for 10 years on a deserted island. Meanwhile Annie has been reduced to poverty. Philip asks her to marry him. Enoch returns and witnesses their happiness, but hides that he is alive and sacrifices his happiness for theirs. An Enoch Arden has come to mean a person who truly loves someone better than himself. The poem ends banally: So past the strong heoic soul away. / And when they buried him, the little port / Had seldom seen a costlier funeral. IDYLLS OF THE KING (1859 1885) dealt with the Arthurian theme, and THE ANCIENT SAGE (1885) and AKBAR S DREAM (1892) testified his faith in the redemption offered by love. Despite his pessimism about the human condition, the poet believed in God. In the 1870s Tennyson wrote several plays, among them poetic dramas QUEEN MARY (1875) and HAROLD (1876). In 1884 he was created a baron. Tennyson died at Aldwort on October 6, 1892 and was buried in the Poets Corner in Westminster Abbey. Soon he became the favorite target of attacks of many English and American poets who saw him as a representative of narrow patriotism and sentimentality. Later critics have praised again Tennyson. T.S. Eliot has called him the great master of metric as well as of melancholia and that he possessed the finest ear of any English poet since Milton. 1 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 43. Analysis Of Cosi Fan Tutte Avtaran Jain Cosi Fan Tutte Review Many have heard the saying that art does not have a language barrier. However, there are times when the expression above fails to hold true for a performance. It in during these times, that the unison of the audience breaks, and a dichotomy forms. My recent experience with the play, Cosi Fan Tutte was somewhat similar to the events described above. Although Cosi Fan Tutte attempts to establish itself in the hearts of the crowd through its talented and experienced cast, it ultimately fails due to its tediously repetitive song structure and narrow intended audience. The adeptness and dexterity of an individual have always been fundamental talents to look for when viewing a performance. These individuals are the one that help the event advance to success. When it comes to the qualities mentioned above, the cast of Cosi Fan Tutte definitely possess most. Because Cosi Fan Tutte is a performance written by Mozart, it comes as no surprise that the level of singing and acting required is highly demanding even for veterans in the industry. Yet, despite all these hurdles, the cast of the performance is able to captivate and delight the audience through its outstanding vocal finesse and entertaining characterization. Ferrando, played by Carlos Feliciano and Guglielmo, played by Eli Glick are the stars of the show, displaying their level of musical acumen through songs such as Una bella serenata and E voi ridete which require a vocal ... • 47. The Characteristics Of The Native Americans Introduction Humans in nature are curious and this leads into finding or creating extraordinary things that may one day be value or question by many. As early civilizations emerge, the beginning of many wonders were developed and with great accuracy. Although there was a lack of technology, as we have today, one wonders how some items may have been developed. The Native Americans are just one particular example to analyze. Despite the lack of the tools we have today, their artwork is impeccable and with great accuracy. Their art work and constructions leave one to ponder on how those items were developed. Furthermore, one can also wonder on how records were kept. The number system that we have today was not available to them. Yet, they were able to have some sense of counting. In addition, Native Americans placed importance on specific numbers and this can be seen in both art and their activities. Patterns and Shapes The need to create and construct goes far beyond what one can imagine. It is in human nature to be curious and to develop or create based on the observations of the world around us. In fact, shapes and patterns emerge in nature organically (Rudman 2007). • 49. Army Mandatory Essay When it comes to the topic of military service being mandatory, most of us would readily agree that it s a debatable topic. Where this argument usually ends, however, is on the question of violating free will. Whereas some are convinced that making military service mandatory offers good opportunities and promotes national unity, others maintain that it violates free will because it doesn t give them an option. Though I concede that a person might not want to be in the military and shouldn t be forced to, I still insist that making military service mandatory can help people make a better step in life, and promote national unity. When it comes to military promoting nation unity, people don t think of the many ways it can show that our country cares about standing strong together, and making sure that we all stand by one another to fight for this country. According to List of Pros of Military Service , Mandatory military service promotes national unity by allowing citizens to learn and train together, creating that shared experience of having served in the military (1). Basically this statement is saying that people who serve in the military have a bond, so those who have never served in the military don t understand this bond. The ... • 50. Book Of Watchers Research Paper In this paper, I will argue that the Book of Watchers portrays the fallen angels as corrupt and evil, while Noah depicts the Watchers as heroes with great intentions. The Book of the Watchers expanded upon Genesis 6:4, where the sons of God , against their better judgement, married mortal women and eventually had ravaging children. Many of these angels then revealed secrets to their new wives, including how to make swords of iron and weapons and shields and breastplates and every instrument of war (Enoch 8:1). Noah is a modern movie loosely inspired by the Biblical story of Noah s Ark. Throughout the first half of the movie, the Watchers were constantly interacting with Noah and his crew. In the Book of Watchers, the Watchers s offspring inaptly created by the fallen angels and their wives, referred to as giants, eventually devastated the earth, filling it with sin and destruction. Not only did the giants steal all of the food and other resources available, they also began killing men and eating them as well. In response to the wickedness, God warned Noah that there would soon be a flood to rid the world of evil. In Enoch 10:4 15, Raphael, Gabriel, and Michael were also sent to punish those who had done wrong. Punishments included being bound, covering them with darkness, destroying them, and general torture. The fallen angels were continuously disciplined until judgement day. If the Watchers hadn t come to earth and reproduced, this trouble would have been avoided. But these events existed to ultimately give a reason for why the flood occurred. Without all of the wrongdoing, there would be no purpose for the flood. In Noah, conversely, the giants serve a completely different purpose. Here, the Watchers were angels sent to Earth to help humans survive after the fall of Adam and Eve. Following his dreams where he was underwater, Noah finds out that the flood will soon transpire. A forest then appears, along with the Watchers, whose main purpose was to help Noah gather wood to finish the ark. Prior to completion of the ark, Tubal Cain and his ... • 51. Childcare Subsidy Case Study Generally, childcare subsidy policies are associated with the quality of care children receive in two ways. First, in states with more generous subsidies more children were enrolled in formal childcare and in center care. The subsidy recipients gained access to more formal care through increased purchasing power (Rigby, Ryan, Brooks‐Gunn, 2007). Besides, childcare subsidies were designed as work supports for low income mothers, with little attention to quality of care, nonetheless, subsidies could be used for purchasing high quality care (Rigby et al.). As a result, the welfare policies boosted employment that led children to spend increased time in non parental care (Crosby, Gennetian, Huston, 2005). That being the case, Antle, Frey, Barbee, ...
