The character, Ophelia, in William Shakespeare s play, Hamlet, plays a very interesting role in the play s plot.
There has been quite a discussion surrounding the character, Ophelia. Some believe that she delves in the
realm of insanity. They believe that all the events that occur in her life completely wrecks her mental state.
However, this is not the case. Despite everything that Ophelia will deal with, you can still see that she just
develops an act and isn t insane. In the play s beginning, we see the state she is in. She s in love with her
boyfriend Hamlet, but her relationship is tampered by her father. During the play, she has several unpleasant
experiences involving Hamlet, which causes her to become distressed. At the play s climax, her father s death
leaves her unstable and she loses it emotionally. At this point, Shakespeare tries to convince us that Ophelia
has become truly insane. However, this is an act, and she can no longer bare life s cruel hardships. In response,
she will commit suicide.
First, let s discuss the events that led up to Ophelia s emotion turmoil. The audience learns of Ophelia s and
Hamlet s love for each other is in the play s beginning. Hamlet does not fall in love with Ophelia until after his
father s demise. Shakespeare makes it known that Ophelia is very much controlled by her father. She is the
daughter of Polonius, the chief advisor to the new King Claudius. Ophelia s father demands she is to cease
contact from prince Hamlet. Polonius states, I would not, in plain terms, from this time forth have you so
slander any moment leisure as to give words or talk with the Lord Hamlet. Look to t, I charge you. Come your
ways. (I.iii.132 35). Ophelia is shown to be powerless, as her father makes all her decisions. Ophelia s
confidence and emotions will begin to dissipate due to her father s commands. All she can reply is I do not, my

word. Even her brother turns his commands upon her as well. Her brother, Laertes, agrees with what their

For immigrants in America, two radically different choices of culture exist. First, the immigrants can choose to
stay loyal to their ancestral roots and deny mainstream culture. Instead of contributing to the melting pot of
opinions present they isolate within themselves by refusing to learn both the English language and American

cascade, other animals in the park benefited from the wolves, and because the land was able to regrow and
flourish due to the wolves presence. Since the reintroduction of wolves into Yellowstone they have created an
astounding and advantageous trophic cascade. A trophic cascade is an ecological phenomenon triggered by the
addition or removal of top predators and involving reciprocal changes in the relative populations of predator
and prey through a food chain. These often result in dramatic changes in ecosystem structure and nutrient
cycling. In a three level food chain, an increase (or decrease) in carnivores causes a decrease (or increase) in
herbivores and an increase (or decrease) in primary producers such as plants and phytoplankton according to

Nutrition is an essential component in the complex development of infants, mainly because of their rapid
growth in one year. One of the most prevalent nutrition problems among young children in the United States is
iron deficiency anemia.1 Anemia is defined as a reduction below normal in the number of red blood cells per
cubic millimeter in the quantity of hemoglobin, or in the volume of packed red blood cells per 100 milliliters
of blood.1 This reduction occurs when the balance between blood loss and blood production is disturbed.1
Iron deficiency can be defined as absent bone marrow iron stores, an increase in hemoglobin concentration of
less than 1.0 g/dL after treatment with iron, or other abnormal values.1 Iron deficiency is found to be more
common among low income children and among African American and Mexican American children.1 The
consequences of iron deficiency anemia include poor cognitive and motor development. The purpose of this
paper is to present four research studies all focusing on the occurrence of iron deficiency anemia in newborns
in developing countries. The first study will focus on the behavior of infants with iron deficiency anemia2 in
Costa Rica. The following study will exhibit anemia in pregnancy3 and the impact on weight and in the

Director Michael Mann releases his movie Public Enemy to the public on July 1, 2009. This nonfiction
biographical movie of the character John Dillinger (Johnny Depp) fascinates the viewers with his charming
self, witty audacity, and bold bravery of his gangster style bank robberies during the Depression era of
America s greatest crime wave. Characters such as Baby Face Nelson (Stephen Graham), Pretty Boy Floyd
(Channing Tatum), Homer Van Meter (Stephen Dorff), and Evelyn Billie Frechette (Marion Cotillard)
displayed their elusiveness of the federal agents with their burglaries through Ohio and Indiana as the

passenger on a city bus in Montgomery, Alabama. By refusing to give up her seat, Rosa Parks was arrested.
Dr. King held a meeting at his church the next night to discuss ways of dealing with her arrest and protesting
her arrest. So, they decided that they would have a bus boycott, beginning on Monday, December the 5th. Her

God Through My Eyes Vast, all knowing, creator, so much more. How do you define your God? The Father is
so much more than human kind can grasp, therefor, being nearly impossible to fully define without using
opinion and imagination. The knowledge of God is the largest piece of shared information among humans
throughout time and space. I will explore my personal thoughts of God, humanity and Jesus, as well as reflect

Inherently, the focus of God is love and to respect His authority is to love Him. Learning to worship God as
Trinity involves more than just searching for creative techniques. We need to know about the nature of our
triune God if we are to worship him and enjoy him properly (Shaw 79). Often when I feel discouraged, the
instinct is to blame God, the creator of everything. Sometimes I get so wrapped up in my own selfishness, that
I forget all the things God has done, not just for me, but also for the world. His mercy is compassionate love
for sinners who do not deserve the redemption in Christ that he offers. His grace likewise speaks of his free

money, earth and space. God is so important, that metaphors are constantly referred to as representing God:

James Cook transformed exploration with the use of modern technology to carry out his explorations,
specifically the use of navigation technology and even the use of mathematics. Cook was a late bloomer in the
age of exploration, but definitely made his mark, as he became one of the most accomplished explorers of all
time. Cook used the latest scientific methods and techniques of cartography to chart his voyages to places such
as Tahiti, Australia, New Zealand and of course Hawaii. This led to more explorers from other countries

He gained technical skills needed to make an effective explorer so he could continue to carry out difficult
explorations to un charted territories. He became accustomed and well off using a sextant, chronometer and
octant just to name a few. Cook further advanced the way explorers navigate, stated in the text the contribution

maps and to create accurate maps representing the explorations he went on, it was important that latitude and
longitude were accurately determined. Luckily for Cook, navigators had been able to work out latitude
accurately for centuries before him by measuring the angle of the sun with a certain instruments, these being a
backstaff or quadrant. Longitude was certainly more difficult to measure accurately because it requires precise
standpoints of the time difference between points on the surface of the earth. On his first voyage, Cook

takes on several different meanings. At the core, the moth it self refers to the insect Pappachi discovers one

today. For example, watches, bicycles, and pencil sharpeners. The most common object, in which gears are

not found in the steering wheel, but are located in the engine. The gears are then controlled by the gear shift,
which spins the gears around, causing the car to move or brake. Gears are circular objects that have teeth all

impact. I locate this body in the category of queer subject. The colonial administration created the category of
the queer subject as a result of governance, i.e. through the adoption of Indian Penal Code ( IPC ) in 1860.
Section 377 of the IPC criminalized sexual offense against the order of nature (non procreative sex). The paper

An article was written by Laurence Cox that explores several aspects of U Dhammaloka s Buddhism, and who
he was as a Buddhist (Cox, 2010). Laurence Cox explores U Dhammaloka s involvement in the Buddhist Tract
Society (BTS), as a social movement organizer, and his participation in politics. (Cox, 2010).
Summary
Cox, (2010), in his article The Politics of Buddhist Revival: U Dhammaloka s as Social Movement Organiser,
explains who U Dhammalok s was as a Buddhist (Cox, 2010). U Dhammaloka was born Irish turned Buddhist
Monk, he was Fiery Tempered, Quick Witted, and Charming as well as Sociable (Cox, 2010, p. 174)).
Dhammaloka was involved in union organizing, socialism, spiritualism, anarchism, atheism, and an Irish
nationalism (Cox, 2010, p. 176). Also, Dhammaloka was known as a great orator and a man that was known
for public confrontation also (Cox, 2010, p. 188). In addition to being the first European monk, he was first to
be recognized as a European to conduct a Buddhist ordination (Cox, 2010, p. 174). However, Dhammaloka s

At first glance the character Don John resembles a traditional villain. Miriam Webster defines a villain as, a
