This document discusses plans for an Ultra Deep Geothermal program in the Netherlands to assess the geothermal potential of Dinantian Carbonate reservoirs located between 1-5km deep. The program aims to identify 1-3 pilot projects over 3 years with a budget of €28 million. It will involve seismic data acquisition, reservoir modeling, and drawing on analogues from other carbonate reservoirs to predict reservoir quality and learn from technical experiences abroad. The goal is to evaluate these deep carbonate reservoirs for potential high-temperature geothermal resources through a multi-consortia exploration program and eventual pilot projects.
