2. Quantitative data
Quantitative data is research expressing a certain quantity, amount or range.
Pros
 Number based research so it’s easier to understand.
 Data can be collected and analysed fairly quickly.
 Surveys can be anonymous which is good for sensitive topics.
Cons
 Can cost a lot.
 They have limited ability to open answers.
Qualitative data
Qualitative data is data that can’t actually be measured. It is data about
qualities.

 Allows people to expand on their answers
 A detailed picture can be built through the questions and answers

 Small sample questioned because it takes time and costs
 Depends on the skills of the researcher
