National defence ministries and armed forces to build integrity and reduce corruption. We collaborate with international organisations such as NATO, the UN, and the African Union to develop tools and approaches that reduce corruption risks.
We encourage defence companies to collaborate internationally to enhance the integrity of international tendering. We strengthen civil society’s ability to engage constructively on defence, and provide expertise for those playing a monitoring and oversight role. Through our research programme, we develop new tools to implement anti-corruption change and build knowledge and expertise on defence and security corruption.

A Manchester graduate in Economics, Jeff had a business career as CEO in multi-national IT, Defence and Aerospace and M&A companies followed by working with NGO’s such as Global Witness (five years as a Director in this natural resource-related corruption NGO) and Transparency International (an advisor for 12 years at TI-UK) and as a CEO in a health-related charity.
He is now a Trustee of TI-UK, Chairs its international Defence and Security Programme, its Finance and Audit Committee and its Advisory Panel on the Corrupt Capital programme (focusing on money laundering). Jeff is also Chair of Future Brilliance, a Charity developing work and entrepreneurial opportunities in highly fragile states such as Afghanistan.
Jeff is currently writing a book on the interplay between faiths and beliefs in the nineteenth Century (religious, economic, political, artistic) that focuses on Manchester in the Industrial Revolution through the eyes and actions of men like Feargus O’Connor (Chartist), James Hull (Moravian Missionary to Manchester from 1835) and Hugh Hornby Birley (made infamous by Peterloo and a major civic leader in the Town thereafter).

How do exchanges select stocks for option listing
The document examines the characteristics that led to stocks being selected for option listing by exchanges from 1973 to 1996. A logit model was used to analyze how trading volume, volatility, and market capitalization related to the probability of option listing. The analysis found that exchanges were more likely to list options on stocks with higher trading volume and volatility. However, volatility became less important over time as the option markets matured. The same factors that predicted listing also predicted trading volume after listing.
Derivative activity at troubled banks

It has over 2,200 listed companies with a total market capitalization of over $4.5 trillion, and is regulated by the Financial Service Agency.
The libor game, global financial markets and
Robo Bank and its employees were involved in illegal activities related to manipulating LIBOR submission rates to benefit themselves financially. LIBOR manipulation impacted global markets in several ways. It negatively affected capital markets since LIBOR is a reference rate for many financial instruments. It also impacted currency exchange rates and inflation levels. Mortgage rates, student loan rates, and commodity prices were all influenced by shifts in LIBOR. In India specifically, LIBOR manipulation hampered capital markets since the MIBOR rate is set in reference to LIBOR. Additionally, fluctuations in the INR currency rate compared to the dollar and euro despite economic conditions could partially be attributed to manipulation of the LIBOR rate, which influences global currency markets.

The rupee posted its biggest quarterly gain since 2012, hitting an 8-month high against the dollar. Heavy foreign buying of Indian equities and debt boosted the rupee, but further gains may be limited as the central bank tries to slow the currency's rise. Foreign funds purchased $3.7 billion in equities and $5.8 billion in debt so far in 2014. The central bank bought $2-3 billion this week to slow the rupee's appreciation and support its foreign exchange reserves.

OPEC is a permanent intergovernmental organization consisting of 12 oil producing countries located in Africa, Asia, and South America. It was founded in 1960 in Baghdad, Iraq by 5 countries and seeks to coordinate oil policies and stabilize oil prices. OPEC members hold over 80% of global crude oil reserves and collectively produce over 29 million barrels per day. The organization meets twice yearly to set production quotas and policies aimed at maintaining stable oil markets.

Foreign institutional investors poured nearly Rs 9,600 crore into Indian equities in March, the highest monthly inflow so far in 2014, on hopes of a stable government after the upcoming general elections. FIIs bought shares worth Rs 59,296 crore and sold stocks worth Rs 49,699 crore, resulting in a net equity inflow of Rs 9,597 crore. FIIs also invested Rs 12,816 crore in Indian debt markets. Analysts believe FIIs are betting on the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government under Narendra Modi being re-elected.
Auditor responsibility and expectation gap

Digital, interactive art showing the struggle of a society in providing for its present population while also saving planetary resources for future generations. Spread across several frames, the art is actually the rendering of real and speculative data. The stereographic projections change shape in response to prompts and provocations. Visitors interact with the model through speculative statements about how to increase savings across communities, regions, ecosystems and environments. Their fabulations combined with random noise, i.e. factors beyond control, have a dramatic effect on the societal transition. Things get better. Things get worse. The aim is to give visitors a new grasp and feel of the ongoing struggles in democracies around the world.
Stunning art in the small multiples format brings out the spatiotemporal nature of societal transitions, against backdrop issues such as energy, housing, waste, farmland and forest. In each frame we see hopeful and frightful interplays between spending and saving. Problems emerge when one of the two parts of the existential anaglyph rapidly shrinks like Arctic ice, as factors cross thresholds. Ecological wealth and intergenerational equity areFour at stake. Not enough spending could mean economic stress, social unrest and political conflict. Not enough saving and there will be climate breakdown and ‘bankruptcy’. So where does speculative design start and the gambling and betting end? Behind each fabular frame is a four ratio problem. Each ratio reflects the level of sacrifice and self-restraint a society is willing to accept, against promises of prosperity and freedom. Some values seem to stabilise a frame while others cause collapse. Get the ratios right and we can have it all. Get them wrong and things get more desperate.
