The Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx and Its Influence on Society
The German political philosopher and revolutionary, Karl Marx is best known for his radical
concepts of society. His socialist views are best seen in his work Communist Manifesto. As one of
the most influential thinkers of all times, he was able to convey revolutionary ideas in a manner
that all could understand. Due to its comprehendible nature and usefulness to the people of his time
this document was widely popular among commoners of the Nineteenth Century. In fact some
historians refer to the Manifesto as the first systematic statement about modern socialism the world
has ever seen. Powerful language and fueled by desires for better standards of ... Show more content

Communist revolts were held outside of factories and people soon took up arms to defend the
ideals set forth by Marx. 2
The most faithful believer and crusader in the movement was Friedrich Engels. His writing entitled
The Condition of The Working Class in England reflects why the Manifesto was needed during
this difficult time. The royalties from Engles book The Condition of the Working Class in
England were given to Marx, because he was ordered to deport from France. His radical ideas
and socialist ways were no longer accepted or allowed by the French Government. Together
Marx and Engels moved to Belgium, and formed an alliance, battling the poverty and
discrimination of all those whose sweat and hard labor went without rewarded. Together they
made an excellent team for as one history says, It was a good partnership, whereas Marx was at
his best when dealing with difficult abstract concepts, Engels had the ability to write for a mass
audience. Throughout Engels life as an apostle to Marx, he was forced to move from country to
country. Marx and his ideas reflected in The Communist Manifesto influenced Engels so greatly
that he devoted his life to editing and recording the theories and wisdom of Marx. Socialism and
equality became his life long pursuit until he died on August 5th 1895. Even though Marx and
Engles had passed on the influence of the Manifesto and either other great writings lived on to
dramatically change the world.

An Avid Bird Photographer Working Towards Marketing My Images
As an avid bird photographer working towards marketing my images, I spend hours scouting
locations and finding good opportunities to produce artistic images that showcase bird behavior
and characteristics. The difficult part about bird photography involves carefully approaching and
photographing subjects without causing unnecessary disturbance, while also creating a powerful
image. Contrary to popular belief, even with a long focal length lens, one must patiently wait or
carefully approach a bird with a low profile in order to make a quality image. Recently with wildlife
photographybecoming a more popular and competitive field, individuals have been using ethically
questionable methods to produce high quality images. Methods such as baiting birds of prey and
mammalian predators, deliberately flushing birds for flight shots, approaching animals too closely,
and using flash when photographing nocturnal wildlife are being implemented to produce
competitive work.
The stakeholders involved in this situation are wildlife photographers themselves, publications and
individuals viewing and promoting the work, the wildlife photography industry, conservationists,
and the wildlife and ecosystems themselves. It is important to understand the two general sides of
the issue. On one side are the wildlife photographers, the wildlife photography industry,
publications, and those viewing and promoting work. On the other side are conservationists, and the
wildlife and ecosystems themselves.

Marketing Strategy For New Business Development
Introduction
Healthy Potion is a business that specializes in producing a unique healthy beverage. It is in a good
developing situation and has made considerable profits from its current business activities.
However, the business that has reliance on one single product and single operation system might
have difficulty in sustainable development in the long run. Therefore, it is significant for the
business to work out plans for business diversification with improvement of its risk management
for the future growth. This case study report will provide strategic analysis and strategy for new
business development using SWOT analysis as well as some recommendations funds raising.

As a private retail company, Healthy Potion has few external stakeholders and it means that the
owner has the perfect control of all stores. In addition, the business has obtained a brand name,
which has a large amount of recurring customers from the significantly increasing sales, and it helps
to improve the customers power and loyalty (Guthrie 2008). However, there are several weaknesses
existing in the business. The production of the beverages requires the importation of some special
concentrate from China and that means there are high delivery costs and import duty costs..
Nevertheless, the single product business model lacks diversity and can hardly satisfy customers
expectation in products and have sustainable growth in the future. Healthy Potion is a business that
produces unique healthy non alcohol beverages, and it is a relatively new business in the beverage
industry. That means the business has a tight budget and limited financial resources, such as
funding, sources of income and investment opportunities (Australian Beverage Council 2013). The
business also faces with opportunities as well as threats. Healthy Potion keeps in firm connection
with Chinese suppliers and it can bring benefits to getting increasing reputation and competitive

Femoroacetabular Impingement Research Paper
Femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) is a condition where the bones of the acetabulum are
abnormally shaped, making them not fit together properly. This can be due to irregular growths of
the femur and or the iliac spine. This abnormality, then causes the hip bones to rub together, leading
to damage within the joint. There are three types of FAI: pincer, cam and combined impingement.
Pincer impingement occurs because of an extra bony growth that extends over the normal rim of
the acetabulum. Conversely, cam impingement is formed when the femoral head is not round and
cannot rotate smoothly inside the acetabulum. Combined impingement is a combination of pincer
and cam (Figure 1). The causes of FAI typically relate to abnormal formation of the... Show more

Mozart Effect Essay
The Mozart Effect is a phenomenon that occurs when individuals listen to the two piano sonata.
The stated results are individuals that are able to remember information easier. There are two
studies that were conducted in associated with the Mozart Effect. The first study was dedicated to
spatial skill performance and its neural pathway relation to music. The other study was dedicated to
challenging the first study due to the argument that any type of music that is appreciated can cause
the same memoryeffect. The second study was based on an experiment with unborn mice that
heard Mozart s piano sonata K448. The other part of the study was related to the effects of Mozart

Guidelines For Reducing Drunk Driving
Jovon Alexander
Spring 2016
Paper 3

Solutions to Reduce Drunk Driving Over the years in New Orleans, drunk driving was 50% of the
reason for deaths that occurred in the city. The Council of the greater New Orleans job is to
prevent the alcohol and drug abuse that goes on in the city of New Orleans to promote a safe
environment for the families, individuals, and safe communities (linkedin.com). The definition of
drunk driving is defined as operating a motor vehicle while one s blood alcohol content is above the
legal limit set by statute, which supposedly is the level at which a person cannot drive safely
(thefreedictionary.com). Everyone agrees that drunk driving is a dangerous thing in America
and it is harming innocent people. My job is to give you solutions on how drinking and drinking
can be stopped. The recent drunk driving accident happened on March 12th of this year. A lady

sister about 6 times (nola.com). She was hit by a man named Luis Delatorre age 59 which this
accident was his second DUI that he received since 2008. His bond was a low $7,500 which
people say that this was another slap on the wrist. That situation brings me to my first solution

the same ideas and concept the unpredictability of life and choices. It is a prime example of how
the short storyand movie differ even if the basic concepts remain unchanged. The movie and short
story share many similarities. Some of the similarities include the themes of morality with their
legal system precrime, security and access to information, crime and punishment, and fate verse

Motifs And Motifs In Macbeth
In literature, one might notice certain images, objects, or ideas recurring throughout the piece.
These are called motifs, and unsurprisingly, many motifs are present in the works of William
Shakespeare. There are many themes that Shakespeare conveys through motif in his play
Macbeth. One of these is that breaking the Great Chain of Being results in misery and disorder,
but the natural order tends to eventually recover. Another is that violence is morally ambiguous
and can be good or evil depending only on who the violence affects. Finally, Shakespeare shows
that what one perceives as reality is not necessarily reality, especially under the effects of guilt and
or paranoia. From reading Macbeth, one can easily pick up on these messages:... Show more content

However, towards the end of the play, the natural order begins to return to normal. Hearing that
Birnam wood was coming to Dunsinane Macbeth remarks I pull in resolution and begin
To doubt th equivocation of the fiend
That lies like truth. Fear not, till Birnam wood
Do come to Dunsinane ; and now a wood
Comes toward Dunsinane. Arm, arm, and out!
If this which he avouches does appear,
There is nor flying hence nor tarrying here.
I gin to be aweary of the sun,
And wish th estate o th world were now undone.
Ring the alarum bell! Blow, wind! Come, wrack!
At least we ll die with harness on our back (V.v.47 58).
This quote draws parallels between Macbeth and a horse, first with the metaphor of him pulling in
resolution. Through this metaphor, Macbeth suggests a fear that allowing the horse of his
confidence to be free was a mistake. He mentions later that at least [he ll] die with harness on [his]
back (V.v.58), which shows that Macbeth is returning to the battlefield where the natural order says
he should be. Rather than rule, Macbeth s nature is to obey commands, as both a soldier and a
horse does. Shakespeare emphasizes the unnatural nature of Macbeth s rule once again over here, as
Birnam Wood moving to Dunsinane is an event that does not occur naturally. Shakespeare
demonstrates through his use of these two nature motifs to enhance the idea that a disturbance to
the natural order causes great

Tobacco Advertising Is Illegal but Alcohol Is Not. Is This...
COMM 3P14 Media Industries Tobacco Advertising is Illegal, but Advertising for Alcohol is

2012 Advertisements are a vital part of any company s marketing strategy, and are used to inform
or persuade an audience about a certain product or service. In fact, North American companies are
among the world s highest advertisers (Boone et al., 2010, 502). Today, an average consumer is

Marketers should make responsible decisions, and not just focus on generating profits, because
it is legal. Ads should address audiences not just as consumers who care about material interests
but as citizens who care about social virtues and the public good (Hove, 2009, 35). The idea of
advertising alcoholic beverages is unethical. While there are mild restrictions in Canada regarding
alcohol promotions, there is a demand for more. Some provinces run ads that promote responsible
drinking, or the dangers of drinking and driving in an attempt to shed light on alcohol abuse
(Boone, 2010, 525). However, these attempts do not cancel out the multitude of beer and liquor
advertisements in today s media. Some alcohol advertisements include the ideology that drinking a
certain brand of beer will influence their social class, or improve their quality of life in some way.
This is extremely controversial. An article from the South African Journal of Psychology notes,
there are no laws against [alcohol] advertisements; however, responsible corporate and professional
action, would prevent the use of these advertisements from a social and moral standpoint (Dubihela
amp; Dubihela, 2011, 209). Clearly, an ethical dilemma is present. The Canadian Radio television
and Telecommunications Commission is one organization that has viewed alcohol advertisements
critically. Since 1968 they have required broadcasters to report the number of alcohol related

This area usually fell into Chinese rule and was eventually incorporated into Chinese provinces

John Fitzgerald Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas at 12:30 on November 22, 1963. JFK

him, which might have led to the Kennedy assassination. He was assassinated by Lee Harvey

speculations that the shooter was located to the right of Kennedy, this could be argued why
Kennedy s head went back from the backlash of the bullet. People who tuned into the assassination
believed that there was a shooter from the Texas School Depository, then this came along and they
all jumped from one shooter to multiple shooters, this connects to the other conspiracy theory of
multiple shooters. Citizens who filmed the assassination released their film along with the Zapruder
film, this was a huge advantage for the government. The grassy knoll was a highlight of these films,
people discovered a silhouette that looked like a dog or a human, it was later called the Black Dog
Man . People could argue this thing was the shooter because throughout the film this thing showed
suspicious activity. Throughout the JFK assassination there were many speculations and conspiracy
theories that Americans discovered. This brought America together to find out who shot the
president, it was a huge mystery at the time and still is to this day. When the Zapruder film came
out, the Warren report, and more evidence, this started many conspiracy and arguments between the
government and Americans. Overall, one can conclude that the JFK assassination had the most

Savannah was abused by her father on a daily basis. When she was 18, Savannah, her mother, and

would have to be the fact that she tries to commit suicide multiple times and somehow managed to

you have to hurt Mama? Why do you want to beat up on a nice little kid like Tom? (Conroy, 117)
it shows how frightened they are of their father and how they don t understand why he is doing

The stark contrast between both players may not even be in their pure production level, but
rather in their confidence. J.R Smith s confidence seems to be at an all time high. Klay
Thompson s seems to be at its lowest point since his rookie and sophomore seasons, if that. Their
roles in the offense differ, however. J.R Smith plays about 25 minutes a game, to Klay s 35.
Thompson is looked upon to do more for Golden State, which includes but is not limited to:
guarding the opposing team s best perimeter player, coming off screens for threes, and a higher
volume of shots attempted. However, it is J.R Smith who s production will be more vital. The
Cavaliers thankfully have many safety nets for Smith in the event of lackluster play. The
addition of Kyle Korver gives Cleveland flexibility at the 2 guard spot, with a deadeye three
point shooter who can keep up with the likes of the splash brothers in the long ball department. A
defensive liability admittedly, the Cavs also have Iman Shumpert at their disposal. A great
defender who plays better off ball defense than Smith, Shump often times has a sporadic offensive
game which comes and goes. J.R Smith will be the bearer of tremendous burden. Looked upon to
be that fourth scorer for Cleveland s front line, Smith will have to come into the lineup prepared to

Marco Polo Comparison Essay
The prolific writings of both Marco Polo and Ibn Battuta give accounts of early world travel and
exploration during the middle ages, these two explorers managed to travel the length of the

for travel it is imperative that we acknowledge that these two individuals came from very different

Polo s view on this was made clear when he states that the kings was so Lecherous that I assure

which shows how he felt about this king s indulgement as lewdness and lust in a way regarded
as distasteful. This was with out a shock to polo who came from a Christian back round where
such an act was considered unacceptable and blasphemous. Ibn Battuta also mentions slaves in
the text many times through his travels; his view of slave trade contradicts that of Polo s. This is
evident when Battuta was given his first hospitality Gift 6 of a young male in Turkey, where he
also bought and sold slaves. This comparison is in sharp contrast to Polo s view on slavery for trade
where Battuta seemed to accept this as normal practice within his culture and even seemed it fit to
deem it as a gift. This comparison shows how cultures within the middle ages held very different
beliefs and guild lines for individuals of various ideologies, what interested and was seen as
acceptable practice of slave trade for Battuta, was on the other hand very shocking to Polo. A
comparison of the travels of both Battuta and Polo show that both men came in contact with great
leaders of Eurasia which shaped their travels and lead them to seek control and obtain control over

The Vegetarian By Han Kang Essay
In The Vegetarian by Han Kang, what appears to be one insubordinate South Korean woman s
choice to not eat meat, becomes a much larger issue revolving around what is normal, and just
how far others should be allowed to impose their own views of reality onto another person s life.
Yeong hye s unusual ways, while strange to the mainstream culture s expectations, present their
own rationality in her mind. She sees it as a way to oppose the violent tendencies of human
nature, in order to find her own peace in life. Kang takes this idea to the farthest extent with the
philosophical question, should a person be allowed to choose to die because their life is just
that, their own life? The unique perspective of this novel comes from a South Korean author,
which helps to develop her questions based a childhood trauma in her country. This tragedy
leads to her novel s exploration of the idea of what is normal, the impossibility of understanding
another individual s idea of normal, and is it rational to commit suicide if it is connected to one s
idea of normal. All these questions are connected through Yeong hye s choice to be a vegetarian,
and are presented to the reader to form their own views throughout the novel. Han Kang was born
and raised in South Korea and has incorporated her culture into her narrative. At the age of nine,
Kang was a witness to the Gwangju Massacre (Reynolds). She stated this event forever changed

Economic Growth Of A Recession
A recession can be defined as an economic decline in gross domestic product, in which, a nation
experiences a downward sloping growth rate. Additionally, recessions tend to have a time range
of two or more periods/quarters of falling real gross domestic product (GDP), consequently from
the negative sloping economic growth rate. In order to properly define causal factors of a
recession, it is most appropriate to elucidate what GDP s meaning. GDP = I + C + G + NE GDP
provides a monetary value of all final goods and services produced within a nation in a particular
year. The independent variables make up the GDP, which is comprised of the sum of investments,
consumption, government spending, and net exports. A strong GDP is a good representation
because it indicates a nation s viability. It is rather pertinent for a nation to be able to forecast the
economy and know where along the business cycle the economy is headed. There are multiple
macroeconomic indicators that are analyzed to make lucid a nations economic condition, such as
foreign direct investments, oil prices, and employment. In this paper, we will be analyzing the
causal relationship between interest rates and recessionary periods, pertaining particularly to The
Russian Federation. Based on the graph below (See Russian GDP Growth), one can discern that
Russia began to experience fluctuation in their GDP at the start of 2008. Zeliko Bogetic states in

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Leader Election
2.3.1Introduction
Leader election is a primary problem in distributed systems where it is important to coordinate
processes group communications and activities. The leader is responsible for controlling and
coordinating all communications between processes in the network, absence of the leader makes
the overall system inconsistent, and loses the system reliability. To keep the system consistent, it
is necessary to nominate another leader, the LEA solves this problem by deciding which process
will be the new leader, and making it well known to other processes [(Akbar, et al., 2006), (Refai,
2010)].
2.3.2Fundamentals of Leader Election

node that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Each node in the system has a state variable indicates its state value, when the process is in
ordinary operation and the leader is active in the system, then state variable contains the normal
value. Candidate state denotes that the leader is failed and the system is in the leader election
process, leader state is obtained by only one process when the election process terminates.
Moreover, every node in the system possess a local variable lead, which indicates the current
leader of the system [(Yadav, et al., 2012), (Gajre, 2013), (Lynch, et al., 2012), (Stroller, 1997)].
It is necessary that, all processes have the same LEA. As well, any LEA must satisfy the following
properties[(Murshed and Allen, 2012), (Stroller, 1997)]:
(a)Safety: The nodes in the system never disagree on the elected leader. All the nodes must
recognize the same node as a leader, after the termination of the election process, at most one node
will be elected as a leader, and all other nodes must have the same lead variable value.
In other words, for all nodes i and j in the system, if statei = normal and statej = normal, then leadi =

Roles Of Women In Beowulf
Role of Women in Beowulf
As an epic tale of heroes and monsters, Beowulf gives its readers much excitement and adventure,
but Beowulf s importance is more than just literary. It offers many insights into the beliefs and
customs of seventh century Anglo Saxon culture. Among these insights is the AngloSaxon view of
women and their role in society. Good Anglo Saxon women are peaceful and unassertive, greeting
guests and serving drinks to the warriors and other men in the meadhall. Wealhtheow, the queen of
the Danes, represents a typical subservient Anglo Saxon woman. As a foil to Wealhtheow, Grendel s
mother is a strong and combative monster whom Beowulf must kill. By analyzing these two

621 2). When Wealhtheow first approaches Beowulf and the Geats, she bore him a cup / with
gold gleaming hands held it before him / graciously greeted the Geats warleader (ll. 623 5). The
author then reinforces that she is a member of the weaker gender by directing Wealhtheow to her
proper position behind the king. When the queen is not serving drinks or greeting the hall guests,
she may usually be found obediently following Hrothgar throughout the meadhall and waiting for
hope news (l. 923).
However, as queen, Wealhtheow shows her intelligence and ability to control men, to some
degree, despite her limited powers; accordingly, the author expands her role from that of a
traditional Anglo Saxon woman to include gift giver and guardian of the throne. Following
Beowulf s fearless victory over Grendel, Wealhtheow offers a toast to the Geats and gives
Beowulf rewards for his heroism. She tells Beowulf, Have luck with this neck ring beloved
Beowulf / accept these gifts gold gleaming treasures / and use them well emdash;may you win
always / make known your strength and save for these boys / wise counsel words emdash;I ll
reward you for that (ll.1216 20). Wealhtheow cleverly uses this opportunity to safeguard her two

The Liberal And Defeat Of The Treaty Of Versailles
After the fighting of World War I stopped, the nations of the Allied powers gathered in Paris,
France to negotiate and write the treaty that would end the war. What would become known as
the Treaty of Versailles was signed by Germany and most of the Allied powers. However, the
United States did not do so. Both liberal and conservative opposition as well as the behavior and
actions of President Wilson significantly contributed to the defeat of the Treaty of Versailles
in the
United States. Liberal groups saw components of the treaty as being insufficient and failing to
ensure the interests of the United States and this belief spread to many. Conservative groups
viewed aspects of the treaty as being unnecessary and too harsh on Germany and many came to
agree. In addition, President Wilson s refusal to compromise on ratification of the treaty made it
very difficult to allow it to receive the support it needed. The many nations that were part of the
Allied powers met in the Palace of Versailles in France to negotiate what would happen to the
nations that were part of the Axis powers, Germany, Austria Hungary, and Turkey. In the
negotiations, President Wilson proposed and argued for his Fourteen Points. These points consisted
of restrictions, land redistribution, and establishments that President Wilson believed would prevent
war in the future. Among these points, he included the eradication of any and all economic

The Church Of England Was Only A Half R
Jessica Annobil
Mrs Harris
The Church of England was only a half reformed church in the period 1559 1603 . To what extent
is this statement valid? (45marks)
This statement is valid to a considerable extent. This is due to the fact that before Elizabeth came
to the throne her siblings had been before her, Edward VI (1547 53) and Mary I (1553 59), these
two had a contrasting religious beliefs and both implemented harsh penalties for those who did not
conform to their religious reform. This is one aspect of the Mid Tudor crisis which then creates a
problem for Elizabeth in enforcing religion successfully as Parliament now consisted of both
Catholics and Protestants. It is for this reason that some may consider the Church of England to be

treasonable to be a Catholic priest. This shows the contradictions to the religious system due to the
Elizabethan Religious Settlement s failure to establish a state religion. This control of Protestant
gentry in Parliament, referred to by J. Neale as a Puritan Choir , suggested that there was grid lock
within Parliament due to remnants of Edward VI s Protestant Parliament in addition to Queen
Mary I s Catholic addition, meaning decisions would be hard to make and religious reform would
take time. As a result, we see there is a lot of proposed reform during the middle years of
Elizabeth s reign, however very few of the proposed legislation is passed, for example in 1571 2
there were bills introduced proposing further reform but none were passed. This shows that though
the radical Protestants had attempted to push for reforms, Elizabeth I had blocked some, suggesting
she did not want to reform the Church of England using the radical Protestant ideals.
Though Elizabeth s aim was to return England to the Protestant faith, she declared that she did not
want to make windows into men s souls , meaning she didn t care what people thought or believed,
as long as they were outwardly Church of England rather than Catholic. Suggesting
Elizabeth I may not have wanted to set a harsh doctrine in which people had to follow, as Mary I

The Steam Engine And The Industrial Revolution
Steam Engine The Industrial Revolution took place from the 18th to the 19th centuries. The
Industrial Revolution was a period during which predominantly agrarian, rural societies in Europe
and America became industrial and urban. Prior to the Industrial Revolution which began in Britain
in the late 1700s, manufacturing was often done in people s homes, using handtools or basic
machines. Industrialization marked a shift to powered, special purpose machinery, factories and
mass production. The iron and textile industries, along with the development of the steam engine,
played central roles in the Industrial Revolution. The way the iron and textile industries and the
development of the steam engine played central roles in the Industrial Revolution is the things
they led to such as improved systems of transportation, communication and banking. The
invention of the steam engine happened in 1698 by Thomas Savery. The first invention of the
steam engine was not quite called the steam engine, it was actually first called water by fire . It
was called water by fire because it was first used to pump water out from the mines. The water by
fire worked by boiling water until it was completely converted into vapor. The steam was then
collected in a tank extracting every droplet of vapor from the original tank, thereby creating a
vacuum in the original container. It was this vacuum that was employed to produce an adequate
amount of energy to pump water out from the mines. The

The Farm Awakens
The arrival of the six children wearing wrinkled clothes and half shut eyes ironically revived the
empty ranch and brought life back into each and every crevice. The rusty gates creaked as they
swung open, revealing the world of tall grass and herds of cattle hidden deep in the hills of
Nevada. Two cars, filled to capacity, rolled up the dusty, dirt road leaving behind all sense of
civilization. They arrived at night. Thousands of white lights illuminated the sky normally
blanketed by the bright streets back home. The air smelled and felt fresh. The eerie quiet hid the
sleeping animals, but because of the grinding gravel and anxious screams of joy, the children s
noise bounced between the mountain sides and awoke the farm. Both cars parked in front of the
white picket fence lining the house and duffle bags dumped out the back of the SUV s filled with
sweaters, toiletries, pants, blankets and pretty much anything else they could fit. The strong, stocky
fathers slung the bags over their shoulders and brought them inside, turned on the lights, and the
outside world was forgotten as they admired the inside of their home for the week.
When the door opened, 5 pairs of boots stomped inside, shuffling their feet along the thick, bristly
rug that read Welcome Home! . As their heads revolved around the room, Dylan and Grace, the two

Lowman and Mommy possess the trait of superficiality. Their priorities are to look good and be
liked, and this contributes to their misguided paths to reach success. This attribute is one of many
societal criticisms pointed out by both authors. Arthur Miller criticizes society for perceiving
success as being liked and having good looks. He illustrates society s perception through Willy, who
thinks the keys to success are being popular and attractive. Willy transmits this philosophy to his

Aristotelian theory of a tragedy. Oedipus, the King of Thebes is a noble man with great

excessive pride and confidence that he can make his life best, but cannot overcome the ill fate and

Firstly reversal is the situation in which the unexpected action occurs which is not following the
law of probability and possibility. Recognition and reversal occurs parallel to each other every
time that is when there is reversal in the ongoing plot, recognition is the realization of the Hero
which expound the previous events and is a resolution to the play. Reversal and recognition
evokes the emotion of fear and pity in the mind of the audience thus, leading to catharsis which
is releases the emotional tension cleansing one s mind. Thus in the Oedipus, the messenger
comes to cheer Oedipus and free him from his alarms about mother, but by revealing who he is,
he produces the opposite effect. The audiences develop the emotions of pity and fear towards
the tragic hero Oedipus as the suspicion of King Laius s murder fall on Oedipus which creates
terror to the time when it is confirmed that Oedipus had done the sin of ignorance/immorality by
murdering ones father and marrying ones mother. Therefore, this reversal of fate in the hero s life
fills the mind of the audience with sympathy and fears that at last during the catastrophe Oedipus
pokes out his eyes which leads to the liberation of emotional tension giving pleasure to the
audience. Deus ex Machina is a literary technique which means god out of a machine. This
technique is not used in between the play, but can be used at the beginning as a report or at the
end. Deus ex machina can be found in the character of Tiresias, the blind old man who reveals the

My Story About My Daughter
So I have come here to tell you guys about my daughter and request some assistance from you, I
guess. Last night sort of shook me a little bit and I am at a loss mentally about what to do. I have
an 8 year old daughter, Amber, who shares a multitude of personality traits in common with me.
One of my favorites is the use of wanton sarcasm pretty much 100% of the time. I keep telling
my wife, Jennifer, that it s a sign of intelligence; she ll just roll her eyes and reminds me that she
constantly has to explain the process of moving shit in the fridge to find other shit to the both of
us. I guess that means we aren t all that smart. However, like I said, I didn t come here to gush
over my love for my daughter. Yesterday morning pretty much started how it usually does with
me struggling to get my wife and daughter up and ready for work and school respectively. My
wife is more of an uphill struggle than Amber is most of the time. It really only gets bad if she
doesn t get a restful sleep. This day was apparently one of those days indicated by the three trips
I made into her bedroom to annoy the shit out of her until she woke up. The more I tried to
probe into why she was so tired she met it with a significant amount more resistance. Sometimes
you have to pick your battles, so I dropped it. We had plans to go to a fair in central Ohio that I had
been excited for all year. It was two hours away from our house but I hadn t been in so long that
the drive seemed worth it.

The Arctic
The first region of the country described in class was that of the Arctic. The Arctic tribes cover the
western part of Alaska, northern part of Canada, and southern part of Greenland. People within this
region are known as Inuits and their culture is very rich. The Arctic is a very cold area with little to
no vegetation, and the Inuitculture and music reflects this. Just like the other regions that have been
and will be described, the Native Americans of the Arctichave their own unique sound, song
structure, and instrumentation. The first thing we will look at is instrumentation. For the Arctic
region, the single most important instrument is what is known as a hand drum. This
membranophone is unique in its structure and sound. To make one of these, a round frame is made
out of wood and then the skin of some local animal such as caribou or white whalein is stretched
over the top of it. This skin is a unique feature and helps separate this region from the rest due to
the fact you cannot find this type of wildlife elsewhere. A handle is attached for drummer to hold
onto and made to fit... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Instead of striking the membrane actually bound, the frame itself is struck. This gives each
Arctic song a unique sound and can be heard in CD 1 track 9. The mallet actually being used to
strike the membrane can further alter the sound. A good example of the altered sound is in CD
1 track 8 where the performer is using a metal bar to strike the drum rim giving of a very metallic
sound. This song is also an example of a duel song. There are many other drum dances songs in
this region like the song I m So Happy and Sayunn. Both tracks, which are CD 1 tracks 9 and 10,
represent how different drum dance songs can be when it comes to vocals, drumbeat, and the
amount of performers. With each of these songs it is easy to see why the hand drum is so
important and a defining characteristic of this area s tribal

Jim Crow Law Effect
During the time period when the Jim Crow Law was in effect, African Americans suffered
drastically in the state of Louisiana including sharecroppers, factory workers and laborers. It was a
law that separated blacks and whites, giving the whites the ability to denote and feel superior to
African Americans. The Jim Crow lawseconomically affected African Americans in Louisiana
prior to the Civil Rights Movement for a variety of reasons. The first reason is that the Jim Crow
Law lead to unemployment; black farmers earned very little which caused them to go in debt
forcing thousands of them to migrate. Another reason is that the Jim Crow Law affected African
Americans socially causing a less opportunities for them to succeed, therefore affected them
economically. Violence was another effect from the Jim Crow Law which traumatize and torture
blacks during this dreadful time, which lead to. The final reason is that African Americans had a

The Jim Crow Law lead to unemployment for African Americans, which cause many African
American families to struggle finding homes and a job that will provide them with a place to

was really little work for blacks since white people where the ones that owed most of the
compaies or the ones offering jobs. In fact, due to the segregation and inequality the Jim Crow
law performed, the pay was different depending on skin color. African American s wages were
extremely lower than white people because of their skin color and their limited in skills. At times,
black people were able to find jobs but the pay was miserable. This inequality in pay caused blacks
to work for many hours to support their families, but still then they couldn t afford much for their
families and were again treated as

A Birth Defect
Different studies and different recourses show that about 1 in 33 babies that are born in the U.S
have a birth defect. I decided to use this known fact from the Human Biology thirteenth edition
textbook by Sylvia S. Mader and Michael Windelpecht due to the fact that not many people
know or even care to think about it that is unless it happened to them or someone in their own
circle. In order to understand how to prevent and test for a birth defect you need to understand
some common definitions and words that can be used while reading about the topic. For
starters, as stated in the merriam webster dictionary, the medical definition of defect is a lack or
deficiency of something necessary for adequacy in form or function. Another word that is used a
lot when talking about this subject matter is test and testing. Based on the medical definition a
test is a diagnostic procedure for determining the presence or nature of a condition or disease or
for revealing a change in function. From this definition you can see how the word test is also used
in medical vocabulary to see what is wrong with a patient so the doctors can determine what to do
next. The last term that I want to explain briefly before continuing is one that people might get
confused with, it is the word prevent. Although it might seem like an easy word people still confuse
it with the act of curing someone. The dictionary without a doubt states that the word prevent
means to keep from happening or existing

Strength In Football
As presented by (Bompa,1999), Football is a very complicated sport in which there are many
components of fitness that are important. (Garcia Pinillos, 2015) specified The elemental
movement patterns in football require a rapid force development and high power output. It is
essential for a footballer to have good agility in order to avoid tackles and change direction
quickly in order to defend effectively and stop their opponents from getting past. For similar
reasons, Speed is also important for a footballer to possess as it can allow them to beat their
opponents to the ball across a short distance. Another important component is power, as shown by

Argumentative Essay On Self Reliance
Everyone in life has at least one person who has strongly influenced them in one way or another,
but what if that influence ended up being hurtful? In the essay Self Reliance by Ralph Emerson,
Emerson gives his advice on how to live independently. Emerson says self reliance is to trust
oneself and believe in oneself. He states that this is important because being self reliant leads to
a successful path in life. By having individual ideas one will end up doing something she or he
wants to do in life which causes success for that individual. He discusses how the only person
one needs to listen to in life is oneself and that no other person should influence one s life. I
believe there are people in this world that can have a negative influence on one s life, but also
people that can have a positive influence. For example, in basketballmy positive influences
(parents, teammates, and coaches) help me to succeed in a team sport. Emerson begins his
article by talking about the importance of self reliance. He defines self reliance as thinking for
oneself and not letting anyone else influence one in any way, shape, or form. As a human being
this may be one of the most difficult tasks. Emerson explains that being self reliant can be
difficult especially for adults because they are too worried about their reputations and how
others will look upon them. Emerson also says, Trust thyself (2). Emerson believes that one
should go with his or her gut in everything she or he does. Even if what she or he wants to do
goes against the thoughts of others she or he still needs to pursue his or her dreams. The last thing
Emerson wants people to do is be embarrassed of what others will think of themselves. People need
to throw away others thoughts and opinions and follow one s own.
Emerson also believes that one can be great through being self reliant. He says, To be great is to
be misunderstood (7). This tells one that if others seem to be judging or confused on what one is
doing with his or her life, one should ignore the others, and continue to follow what she or he
believes. Emerson explains that if one is misunderstood by others that she or he is on the path to
success. For example, when Jesus followers were

Stereotypes Of Dracula In Bram Stoker s Dracula
Bleh Bleh Bleh What does the notorious bloodsucking Dracula have in common with the
attractive vampires that are shown in the movie Twilight? A lot actually, not only do they share
the same name of Vampire or Undead , they also share the same powers and needs. The vampire
genre has gone a long way, specifically with books like Bram Stoker s Dracula. It first started out as
folklore and then it turned into a popular topic of writing in early European culture. Bram Stoker
then combined what he could into one classic vampirethat is widely known today. Even in today s
modern generation, Bram Stoker s widely known character Dracula continues to be used as the
classic vampire that is an example of a basis for the undead . In Bram Stoker s... Show more content

Clarson makes a point of talking about the fangs being sharp, proving that it is a way to identify
a vampire such as the Count. This continues to persist throughout the genre, a vampire has the
need for blood so it turns to a victim and takes advantage of them, while also turning the victim
into a vampire as well. This shows that Bram Stoker has successfully created a stereotype of
fangs that are used to feed off the blood of victims that continues through this genre. There is
something about burning red eyes of a blood hungry undead that just manages to stick with the
whole vampire stereotypes. Despite not knowing that it was dracula, Jonathan Harker had met
up with Dracula and had taken a lot of acknowledgement to the dark fire like eyes of the Count.
Jonathan describes the scene of him meeting the count for the first time, I could only see the
gleam of a pair of very bright eyes, which seemed red in the lamplight, as he turned to us (Stoker
10). This proves that the eyes are a first expression that comes to Harkers mind when he first sees
the Count. The stereotype of vampires having red eyes is probably one of the most known
stereotypes when it comes to the undead and the vampire genre. The burning red eyes show a sense
of character in the vampires, giving them an evil quality that strikes fear into those who look into
them. Another

Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico
Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico Imagine 2,500 to 68,000 square miles covered in 4.9 million
barrels of oil. No, imagine being covered in 4.9 million barrels of oil. Picture yourself gasping
for air in an ocean filled with oil. That is exactly what birds, sea turtles, dolphins, and other
animals had to do after the most catastrophic oil spill of all time occurred on April 20, 2010. The
oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico occurred because oil from the well shot up and out of the drill
column under high pressure, extended on the drilling rig and exploded (wikipedia) . The rig set
on fire and later sank. BP, Transocean, along with government agency employer, all worked hard
to avoid further spread of the oil. Regardless of their attempt, the spread of the oil to the surface
and shore of the ocean was inevitable. Therefore, all marine animals were affected by the oil
contamination in the Gulf of Mexico. Oil filled the blowholes and entered the lungs of dolphins
and whales. This made breathing almost impossible. One of the most endangered species of the
sea were also affected by the oil spills of the gulf, sea turtles. Turtles covered in oil were at risk of
breathing the toxins of the oil, potentially damaging their respiratory system. Texas residents report
that dead sea turtles continue to wash up. Although it is estimated that about 6,000 sea turtles have
been harmed by the oil spill, only 1,146 have been officially collected. I think that the most

Richard Graff s Hidden Intellectualism, By Gerald Graff
Contained within Gerald Graff s, Hidden Intellectualism, are several eye opening ideas. Graff
main point in his essay, is that non intellectual topics can be written or talked about in an
academic way. Graff uses his past stating that he has street smarts, and that it was a form
knowledge. In a way, he negatively scrutinizes the public education for overlooking the intellect
of those who aren t skilled academically. One thing that I believe is very fundamental is that he
says, They would be more prone to take on intellectual identities if we encouraged them to do so
at first on subjects that interest them rather than ones that interest us. He puts it plain and simple
that you can take street topics and make them into intellectual debates. Sport uniforms created by
Nike are feats of technology, football uniforms on the collegiate have reinvented the game. Graff
stats, Sports after all was full of challenging arguments, debates, problems for analysis. For
example, some teams wear different uniforms every week, how does this impact the way athletes
perform. Sometimes the colors or style someone makes their mental game change. This is a topic
that can lead to heated debates and scientific analysis. One collegiate football team that changes
uniforms almost every week is the The Oregon Ducks. They are always integrating the newest and
best technology, which is designed by Nike to help their players perform better. Oregon is
somewhat privileged, because the co founder of

Racism is prejudice or discrimination directed against someone of a different race based on
such a belief. An example of racism in the public services comes from a news report on channel

Ethnocentricity
Ethnocentricity is being centred on a specific ethnic group, usually one s own. An example of
ethnocentricity in the public services is in training. Every public service member is taught to not let
ethnocentric views affect their behaviour towards others. Currently there has been no media
reporting s of ethnocentricity within the UK public services.
Sexism
Sexism is prejudice, stereotyping, or discrimination, typically against women, on the basis of sex.
An example of sexism in the public services is in the fire brigade. Many people refer to fire
fighters as firemen even though there are women in the fire brigade. A report from The Guardian
in April 2012 tells the true stories of female fire fighters battles to get recognition as they are in the

A heterosexist is someone that discriminates in favour of heterosexual and against homosexual
people. An example of people showing heterosexist beliefs in the public services is how people

there are around 66,000 homosexuals serving in military which make up just 2.2%.

One Flew Over The Cuckoo s Nest Literary Analysis
In the novel, One Flew Over the Cuckoo s Nest, Ken Kesey uses machine imagery to develop the
theme that society forces people to conform. The novel is able to portray machine imagery and
conformity by using the Patients, Combine, and Bromden s Dream. To begin with, Ken Kesey
implies machine imagery into the patient s to develop the theme of society forces people to
conform . One example of the author using machine imagery is... What the Chronics are...or
most of us...are machines with flaws inside that can t be repaired, flaws born in, or flaws beat in
over so many years of the guy running head on into solid things that by the time the hospital
found him he was bleeding rust in some vacant lot (Kesey, 16). The chronics are patients that are
metaphorically described as broken machines that can t be fixed. Once the machines get fixed
again they can once again function back into society and be normal . Society rejects broken
machines because it does not match their ideal idea of how society should be or work. Society
does this because the society itself decides who is sane or insane. Which in other words, those
who can conform are sane and those who can t conform are insane. This is the ideal idea that
society wants, which is that society forces people to conform. Another example of the author
using machine imagery is... You can see by his eyes how they burned him out over there; his eyes
are all smoked up and gray and deserted inside like blown fuses (Kesey 16) .

The Influence Of Tax Credits
The Influence of Tax Credits The impetus behind the tax credits appears to be two fold. As
taxpayers work to improve energy efficiency, decreasing usage, and lessening the environmental
impact of their daily activities, they may receive financial rewards based on their actions. The
offer of tax credits is an attempt to achieve a certain behavior from the consumer. However, two
important things must take place before the consumer takes action. First, the consumer must be
aware that a tax credit is available. Sales are highly publicized, but publicity relating to tax
credits is limited. Once the consumer is made aware of a tax credit, they must view the tax
credit as a reduction in price, but a tax credit is much more complicated with several caveats.
Environmental tax credits offered by various levels of government are extremely popular with
both the governing bodies and those who benefit from the credits. Government is seen as taking a
positive step not only towards improving the environment, but reducing the United States
dependency on fuel from other countries which in turn allows for greater security. Tax credits
allow the individual or business to decide how to spend their money and the financial benefit of
a particular behavior. The financial benefit may be in the form of reduced operating costs or
taxes. However a closer look at eco friendly tax credits for the individual consumer points to a
class discrepancy. These tax credits require an initial and

The Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx and Its Influence on Society The German political philosopher and revolutionary, Karl Marx is best known for his radical concepts of society. His socialist views are best seen in his work Communist Manifesto. As one of the most influential thinkers of all times, he was able to convey revolutionary ideas in a manner that all could understand. Due to its comprehendible nature and usefulness to the people of his time this document was widely popular among commoners of the Nineteenth Century. In fact some historians refer to the Manifesto as the first systematic statement about modern socialism the world has ever seen. Powerful language and fueled by desires for better standards of ... Communist revolts were held outside of factories and people soon took up arms to defend the ideals set forth by Marx. 2 The most faithful believer and crusader in the movement was Friedrich Engels. His writing entitled The Condition of The Working Class in England reflects why the Manifesto was needed during this difficult time. The royalties from Engles book The Condition of the Working Class in England were given to Marx, because he was ordered to deport from France. His radical ideas and socialist ways were no longer accepted or allowed by the French Government. Together Marx and Engels moved to Belgium, and formed an alliance, battling the poverty and discrimination of all those whose sweat and hard labor went without rewarded. Together they made an excellent team for as one history says, It was a good partnership, whereas Marx was at his best when dealing with difficult abstract concepts, Engels had the ability to write for a mass audience. Throughout Engels life as an apostle to Marx, he was forced to move from country to country. Marx and his ideas reflected in The Communist Manifesto influenced Engels so greatly that he devoted his life to editing and recording the theories and wisdom of Marx. Socialism and equality became his life long pursuit until he died on August 5th 1895. • 3. An Avid Bird Photographer Working Towards Marketing My Images As an avid bird photographer working towards marketing my images, I spend hours scouting locations and finding good opportunities to produce artistic images that showcase bird behavior and characteristics. The difficult part about bird photography involves carefully approaching and photographing subjects without causing unnecessary disturbance, while also creating a powerful image. Contrary to popular belief, even with a long focal length lens, one must patiently wait or carefully approach a bird with a low profile in order to make a quality image. Recently with wildlife photographybecoming a more popular and competitive field, individuals have been using ethically questionable methods to produce high quality images. Methods such as baiting birds of prey and mammalian predators, deliberately flushing birds for flight shots, approaching animals too closely, and using flash when photographing nocturnal wildlife are being implemented to produce competitive work. The stakeholders involved in this situation are wildlife photographers themselves, publications and individuals viewing and promoting the work, the wildlife photography industry, conservationists, and the wildlife and ecosystems themselves. It is important to understand the two general sides of the issue. On one side are the wildlife photographers, the wildlife photography industry, publications, and those viewing and promoting work. On the other side are conservationists, and the wildlife and ecosystems themselves. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This can be due to irregular growths of the femur and or the iliac spine. This abnormality, then causes the hip bones to rub together, leading to damage within the joint. There are three types of FAI: pincer, cam and combined impingement. Pincer impingement occurs because of an extra bony growth that extends over the normal rim of the acetabulum. Conversely, cam impingement is formed when the femoral head is not round and cannot rotate smoothly inside the acetabulum. Combined impingement is a combination of pincer and cam (Figure 1). • 10. Motifs And Motifs In Macbeth In literature, one might notice certain images, objects, or ideas recurring throughout the piece. These are called motifs, and unsurprisingly, many motifs are present in the works of William Shakespeare. There are many themes that Shakespeare conveys through motif in his play Macbeth. One of these is that breaking the Great Chain of Being results in misery and disorder, but the natural order tends to eventually recover. Another is that violence is morally ambiguous and can be good or evil depending only on who the violence affects. Finally, Shakespeare shows that what one perceives as reality is not necessarily reality, especially under the effects of guilt and or paranoia. From reading Macbeth, one can easily pick up on these messages:... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, towards the end of the play, the natural order begins to return to normal. Hearing that Birnam wood was coming to Dunsinane Macbeth remarks I pull in resolution and begin To doubt th equivocation of the fiend That lies like truth. Fear not, till Birnam wood Do come to Dunsinane ; and now a wood Comes toward Dunsinane. Arm, arm, and out! If this which he avouches does appear, There is nor flying hence nor tarrying here. I gin to be aweary of the sun, And wish th estate o th world were now undone. Ring the alarum bell! Blow, wind! Come, wrack! At least we ll die with harness on our back (V.v.47 58). This quote draws parallels between Macbeth and a horse, first with the metaphor of him pulling in resolution. Through this metaphor, Macbeth suggests a fear that allowing the horse of his confidence to be free was a mistake. He mentions later that at least [he ll] die with harness on [his] back (V.v.58), which shows that Macbeth is returning to the battlefield where the natural order says he should be. Rather than rule, Macbeth s nature is to obey commands, as both a soldier and a horse does. Shakespeare emphasizes the unnatural nature of Macbeth s rule once again over here, as Birnam Wood moving to Dunsinane is an event that does not occur naturally. Shakespeare demonstrates through his use of these two nature motifs to enhance the idea that a disturbance to the natural order causes great ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Rebecca Stewart 4574927 Russell Johnston Seminar 3 November 11, 2012 Advertisements are a vital part of any company s marketing strategy, and are used to inform or persuade an audience about a certain product or service. In fact, North American companies are among the world s highest advertisers (Boone et al., 2010, 502). Today, an average consumer is exposed to hundreds of advertisements every day. It is when these companies attempt to promote a dangerous product that restrictions must be, and have been put in place. Marketers should make responsible decisions, and not just focus on generating profits, because it is legal. Ads should address audiences not just as consumers who care about material interests but as citizens who care about social virtues and the public good (Hove, 2009, 35). The idea of advertising alcoholic beverages is unethical. While there are mild restrictions in Canada regarding alcohol promotions, there is a demand for more. Some provinces run ads that promote responsible drinking, or the dangers of drinking and driving in an attempt to shed light on alcohol abuse (Boone, 2010, 525). However, these attempts do not cancel out the multitude of beer and liquor advertisements in today s media. Some alcohol advertisements include the ideology that drinking a certain brand of beer will influence their social class, or improve their quality of life in some way. This is extremely controversial. An article from the South African Journal of Psychology notes, there are no laws against [alcohol] advertisements; however, responsible corporate and professional action, would prevent the use of these advertisements from a social and moral standpoint (Dubihela amp; Dubihela, 2011, 209). Despite not matching up positions wise, James and Curry will meet in their third consecutive NBA Finals, having split the pair. Just like in a good ol fashion game of 1 on 1, the third game decides the tie break. Positions wise, James and Kevin Durant will be the main story of the finals with Curry and Kyrie Irving holding equal importance. But perhaps the most impactful match up is Klay Thompson and J.R Smith. The Warriors have a big 4, while the Cavaliers have a traditional big 3. J.R Smith s confidence seems to be at an all time high. Klay Thompson s seems to be at its lowest point since his rookie and sophomore seasons, if that. Their roles in the offense differ, however. J.R Smith plays about 25 minutes a game, to Klay s 35. Thompson is looked upon to do more for Golden State, which includes but is not limited to: guarding the opposing team s best perimeter player, coming off screens for threes, and a higher volume of shots attempted. However, it is J.R Smith who s production will be more vital. The Cavaliers thankfully have many safety nets for Smith in the event of lackluster play. The addition of Kyle Korver gives Cleveland flexibility at the 2 guard spot, with a deadeye three point shooter who can keep up with the likes of the splash brothers in the long ball department. A defensive liability admittedly, the Cavs also have Iman Shumpert at their disposal. A great defender who plays better off ball defense than Smith, Shump often times has a sporadic offensive game which comes and goes. J.R Smith will be the bearer of tremendous burden. Both liberal and conservative opposition as well as the behavior and actions of President Wilson significantly contributed to the defeat of the Treaty of Versailles in the United States. • 36. Farm Descriptive Essay The Farm Awakens The arrival of the six children wearing wrinkled clothes and half shut eyes ironically revived the empty ranch and brought life back into each and every crevice. The rusty gates creaked as they swung open, revealing the world of tall grass and herds of cattle hidden deep in the hills of Nevada. Two cars, filled to capacity, rolled up the dusty, dirt road leaving behind all sense of civilization. They arrived at night. Thousands of white lights illuminated the sky normally blanketed by the bright streets back home. The air smelled and felt fresh. The eerie quiet hid the sleeping animals, but because of the grinding gravel and anxious screams of joy, the children s noise bounced between the mountain sides and awoke the farm. Both cars parked in front of the white picket fence lining the house and duffle bags dumped out the back of the SUV s filled with sweaters, toiletries, pants, blankets and pretty much anything else they could fit. The strong, stocky fathers slung the bags over their shoulders and brought them inside, turned on the lights, and the outside world was forgotten as they admired the inside of their home for the week. When the door opened, 5 pairs of boots stomped inside, shuffling their feet along the thick, bristly rug that read Welcome Home! . As their heads revolved around the room, Dylan and Grace, the two oldest, led the pack of children naively glancing past the cowhide rugs and rustic furniture the parents admired. They traveled room to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Recognition and reversal occurs parallel to each other every time that is when there is reversal in the ongoing plot, recognition is the realization of the Hero which expound the previous events and is a resolution to the play. Reversal and recognition evokes the emotion of fear and pity in the mind of the audience thus, leading to catharsis which is releases the emotional tension cleansing one s mind. Thus in the Oedipus, the messenger comes to cheer Oedipus and free him from his alarms about mother, but by revealing who he is, he produces the opposite effect. The audiences develop the emotions of pity and fear towards the tragic hero Oedipus as the suspicion of King Laius s murder fall on Oedipus which creates terror to the time when it is confirmed that Oedipus had done the sin of ignorance/immorality by murdering ones father and marrying ones mother. Last night sort of shook me a little bit and I am at a loss mentally about what to do. I have an 8 year old daughter, Amber, who shares a multitude of personality traits in common with me. One of my favorites is the use of wanton sarcasm pretty much 100% of the time. I keep telling my wife, Jennifer, that it s a sign of intelligence; she ll just roll her eyes and reminds me that she constantly has to explain the process of moving shit in the fridge to find other shit to the both of us. I guess that means we aren t all that smart. However, like I said, I didn t come here to gush over my love for my daughter. Yesterday morning pretty much started how it usually does with me struggling to get my wife and daughter up and ready for work and school respectively. My wife is more of an uphill struggle than Amber is most of the time. It really only gets bad if she doesn t get a restful sleep. This day was apparently one of those days indicated by the three trips I made into her bedroom to annoy the shit out of her until she woke up. The more I tried to probe into why she was so tired she met it with a significant amount more resistance. Sometimes you have to pick your battles, so I dropped it. The Arctic tribes cover the western part of Alaska, northern part of Canada, and southern part of Greenland. People within this region are known as Inuits and their culture is very rich. Just like the other regions that have been and will be described, the Native Americans of the Arctichave their own unique sound, song structure, and instrumentation. The first thing we will look at is instrumentation. For the Arctic region, the single most important instrument is what is known as a hand drum. This membranophone is unique in its structure and sound. To make one of these, a round frame is made out of wood and then the skin of some local animal such as caribou or white whalein is stretched over the top of it. In order to understand how to prevent and test for a birth defect you need to understand some common definitions and words that can be used while reading about the topic. For starters, as stated in the merriam webster dictionary, the medical definition of defect is a lack or deficiency of something necessary for adequacy in form or function. Another word that is used a lot when talking about this subject matter is test and testing. Based on the medical definition a test is a diagnostic procedure for determining the presence or nature of a condition or disease or for revealing a change in function. • 46. Argumentative Essay On Self Reliance Everyone in life has at least one person who has strongly influenced them in one way or another, but what if that influence ended up being hurtful? In the essay Self Reliance by Ralph Emerson, Emerson gives his advice on how to live independently. Emerson says self reliance is to trust oneself and believe in oneself. He states that this is important because being self reliant leads to a successful path in life. By having individual ideas one will end up doing something she or he wants to do in life which causes success for that individual. He discusses how the only person one needs to listen to in life is oneself and that no other person should influence one s life. I believe there are people in this world that can have a negative influence on one s life, but also people that can have a positive influence. For example, in basketballmy positive influences (parents, teammates, and coaches) help me to succeed in a team sport. Emerson begins his article by talking about the importance of self reliance. He defines self reliance as thinking for oneself and not letting anyone else influence one in any way, shape, or form. As a human being this may be one of the most difficult tasks. Emerson explains that being self reliant can be difficult especially for adults because they are too worried about their reputations and how others will look upon them. Emerson also says, Trust thyself (2). Emerson believes that one should go with his or her gut in everything she or he does. Even if what she or he wants to do goes against the thoughts of others she or he still needs to pursue his or her dreams. The last thing Emerson wants people to do is be embarrassed of what others will think of themselves. People need to throw away others thoughts and opinions and follow one s own. Emerson also believes that one can be great through being self reliant. He says, To be great is to be misunderstood (7). This tells one that if others seem to be judging or confused on what one is doing with his or her life, one should ignore the others, and continue to follow what she or he believes. Emerson explains that if one is misunderstood by others that she or he is on the path to success. For example, when Jesus followers were ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The vampire genre has gone a long way, specifically with books like Bram Stoker s Dracula. It first started out as folklore and then it turned into a popular topic of writing in early European culture. This continues to persist throughout the genre, a vampire has the need for blood so it turns to a victim and takes advantage of them, while also turning the victim into a vampire as well. This shows that Bram Stoker has successfully created a stereotype of fangs that are used to feed off the blood of victims that continues through this genre. There is something about burning red eyes of a blood hungry undead that just manages to stick with the whole vampire stereotypes. Despite not knowing that it was dracula, Jonathan Harker had met up with Dracula and had taken a lot of acknowledgement to the dark fire like eyes of the Count. Jonathan describes the scene of him meeting the count for the first time, I could only see the gleam of a pair of very bright eyes, which seemed red in the lamplight, as he turned to us (Stoker 10). That is exactly what birds, sea turtles, dolphins, and other animals had to do after the most catastrophic oil spill of all time occurred on April 20, 2010. The oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico occurred because oil from the well shot up and out of the drill column under high pressure, extended on the drilling rig and exploded (wikipedia) . The rig set on fire and later sank. BP, Transocean, along with government agency employer, all worked hard to avoid further spread of the oil. Regardless of their attempt, the spread of the oil to the surface and shore of the ocean was inevitable. Therefore, all marine animals were affected by the oil contamination in the Gulf of Mexico. Oil filled the blowholes and entered the lungs of dolphins and whales. This made breathing almost impossible. One of the most endangered species of the sea were also affected by the oil spills of the gulf, sea turtles. Turtles covered in oil were at risk of breathing the toxins of the oil, potentially damaging their respiratory system. Texas residents report that dead sea turtles continue to wash up. The novel is able to portray machine imagery and conformity by using the Patients, Combine, and Bromden s Dream. To begin with, Ken Kesey implies machine imagery into the patient s to develop the theme of society forces people to conform . One example of the author using machine imagery is... What the Chronics are...or most of us...are machines with flaws inside that can t be repaired, flaws born in, or flaws beat in over so many years of the guy running head on into solid things that by the time the hospital found him he was bleeding rust in some vacant lot (Kesey, 16). The chronics are patients that are metaphorically described as broken machines that can t be fixed. Once the machines get fixed again they can once again function back into society and be normal . Society rejects broken machines because it does not match their ideal idea of how society should be or work. Society does this because the society itself decides who is sane or insane. Which in other words, those who can conform are sane and those who can t conform are insane. This is the ideal idea that society wants, which is that society forces people to conform. • 53. The Influence Of Tax Credits The Influence of Tax Credits The impetus behind the tax credits appears to be two fold. As taxpayers work to improve energy efficiency, decreasing usage, and lessening the environmental impact of their daily activities, they may receive financial rewards based on their actions. The offer of tax credits is an attempt to achieve a certain behavior from the consumer. However, two important things must take place before the consumer takes action. First, the consumer must be aware that a tax credit is available. Sales are highly publicized, but publicity relating to tax credits is limited. Once the consumer is made aware of a tax credit, they must view the tax credit as a reduction in price, but a tax credit is much more complicated with several caveats. Environmental tax credits offered by various levels of government are extremely popular with both the governing bodies and those who benefit from the credits. Government is seen as taking a positive step not only towards improving the environment, but reducing the United States dependency on fuel from other countries which in turn allows for greater security. Tax credits allow the individual or business to decide how to spend their money and the financial benefit of a particular behavior.
