The Function, Motivation And Purpose Of The Nist...
Q3. Describe the function, motivation and purpose of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF)
(10 points). Describe in detail the five components of the CSF core (20 points). Explain why it is
important for network security engineers to be aware of the CSF and similar security industry
related disciplines (3 points).
Motivation:
If we consider any nation, its most vulnerable if its financial and economic security is compromised.
Cyber security has a profound impact on a nation by making it susceptible to outside threats. It
can have a drastic effect on a Nation s wealth, military, public health. Such threats also impact
company s progress by driving up costs and and impeding its growth leading to decrease in its
customer base. The President of United States devised a policy to tackle such cybersecurity threats.
This led into development of Cybersecurity Framework, a collection of industry procedures,
standards and methods to help organizations and companies deal in an event of a cybersecurity
threat.
Purpose:
The main purpose of NIST Cybersecurity framework is provide a list of standards, procedures,
guidelines to follow in an even of a threat. These standards should not be specific to any country.
While creating any guidelines for a company, the standard procedures of any company should not
be replace by these guidelines. It should rather complete an organization s risk management
processes and work towards eliminating any loopholes.
It comprises of these three features:

The Economic Origins of the French Revolution
The inflated opinion the French monarchy had about themselves and other nobles lent itself to how
they contributed to and handled the economic downturn in France for centuries prior to the French
Revolution. Forming the foundation of many of France s financial issues, the monarchial system
granted royals and the nobles who surrounded them the ability to feel as if they are intended to be
superior to the rest of France, a mentality that would last until the French Revolution began. With
this monarchial system, each king of France from 1610 to 1789 would contribute in both positive
and negative ways, depending greatly on the Chief Ministers they appointed. [ADD] Marking a
significant beginning stage of the economic downturn was the Seven... Show more content on

One of Richelieu s main areas of focus was with the country s military forces and wars, as he
wanted to expand and modernize the French Navy, while he is also credited with beginning the
legacy of French Kings being involved in unnecessary wars. Despite having been mentored by
Richelieu, Cardinal Jules Mazarin as Chief Minister for both Louis XIII, following the death of
Richelieu, and Louis XIV was not interested in economic or cultural development. Due to his lack
of interest in such developments, Mazarin encouraged the appointment of Nicolas Fouquet as
Superintendent of Finances, however, King Louis XIV eventually imprisoned Fouquet after eight
years in the position. His imprisonment is relatively ironic, as it was a punishment for Fouquet s
overt extravagance, which would be an issue that plagued Louis XIV, Louis XV and Louis XVI
until the French Revolution. Four years following Mazarin s death and Fouquet s imprisonment in
1661, Jean Baptiste Colbert assumed the position of Minister of Finances under Louis XIV. Colbert
s eighteen years in office were productive, as he would encourage the development of colonies
belonging to France, such as Quebec and Louisiana, realizing the potential of using them to create
an economically self sufficient unit within France. Colbert would also promote industry with the

Ethical Responsibilities At The Termination Of Their Group
.54#2. What are your ethical responsibilities to group members at the termination of their group?
Explain As a group leader, I have a myriad of ethical responsibilities to the group members,
especially at the closing of the group. I need to exercise due diligence by using sound
professional judgement to make sure each of my clients have some form of closure before they
leave the group. In order to facilitate and prepare the group members for closure, I wantto address
three main points; I want to consolidate what they learned in the group, understand what they will
do with what they learned, and how will they continue receiving support. Each member should
share during this time. By consolidating what these men learned in this group, we will be able to
understand where each member stands. In this group, members should have learned how to deal
with their stress levels and find meaning in their diagnosis. Ethically, I needto recap during the last
sessions with the clients to remind them what they have learned so the group experience was not
for naught. Accordingly, I want to summarize with the group what they learned about the
challenges of being HIV positive while encouraging them to use the skills they learned in the group
outside of the group, while keeping the confidentiality of the group members. Accordingly with my
facilitation, the clients should explore and summarize for themselves what they learned and how
they have changed in the group over the past twelve weeks.

Essay about Making the St. Louis Connection
Adolf Hitler spent much of his life wanting to be a painter and when he was eighteen years old
he fled with two other young men to Vienna. He and the two other men wanted to attend the
Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. The two other men were accepted but Adolf Hitler was not. He
blamed his non acceptance on the fact that the art academy had been run by the Jewish and were
discriminating against him. After years of failing in the art industry, Hitler s political ambitions
rose to the surface and he brought the Nazi Party to power in Germany. The Rape of Europa

The Rape of Europa describes the lengths and expenses that a community should go to preserve
their art. I believe that communities should go extreme lengths and expenses to preserve their
art because art is part of our cultural and if past generations did not preserve their art then future
generations would not be able to learn about their cultural, background and heritage. Also, in
earlier times art was a way of communication. For instance, cave men and women would draw
cave drawings and if scientist did not preserve these drawings then we would not know what life
was like back then. The arts are a powerful vehicle for communication, a way to express visions
that are beyond the capacity of words and a medium for cultural enlightenment and insight. Art
also allows viewers to connect with the art and the artist in a deeper way than life can sometimes
express. Communities should go extreme lengths and expenses to preserve their art because it
provided a deeper insight to life. One of the most famous pieces of artwork that was purged
during World War II by the German Nazis was Klimt s Portrait of Adele Bloch Bauer. According to

Essay On Homotopy Analysis Method
Abstract
This research presents Homotopy Analysis Method to Fredholm integral equations of the second
kind. An analytical method solving linear and nonlinear equations. The Homotopy Analysis Method
provides an efficient and powerful tool in solving integral equations. The method provides a great
freedom in choosing an auxiliary parameter h, an auxiliary linear operator L,an auxiliary nonlinear
operator N, to analyze strongly linear and nonlinear problems. Application of the method to
Fredholm integral equations of the second kind is analyzed which gives a rapid convergence for the
solutions.

Barbie Dolls On Young Children Essay
Mattel:
Influences of Barbie dolls on young children Mattel is considered one of the most leading
industry when it comes to the invention of toys and video games. Mattel is also a leading brand
company that researches and develops new toys and then buys or license them from inventors. But
what exactly are they doing to convince us consumers to buy their products? For the past decades
now, Barbie dolls mainly created by Mattel have grown tremendously and have made a huge
impact to children s lives. Kids are influenced by what they see on television and therefore
automatically drawn to imitate whatever characters they seem to be interesting. Their
characters, dressing, and responsibility influence young children to change dramatically. Based
on A Rhetorical Analysis of Amy Lin s Article , the writer Amy Lin argues that Barbie dolls and
all its associated products fosters or encourage a consumerist ethos in young girls (children), I
agree that Barbie dolls not only influence children based on materialism but it also encourages a
false view of reality. In the article by Amy Lin, given that Barbie has become the alpha doll
(Talbot 74) for girls in today s popular culture, young female consumers clearly associate only
good things with Barbie. The product itself has become a tradition handed down from mother to
daughter or a rite of passage that most girls go through. In this way, excessive consumption and
the effects of branding are handed down as well, as Barbie dolls are

Medieval Architecture Essay
Medieval Architecture
World Geography 101
December 1, 2010
The Middle Ages, also known as the Medieval era, though scarred with a history of violence and
war, has given the world some of the most marvelous and beautiful pieces of art, particularly in
architecture. The Middle Ages is the name given to the time period from the late 5th century to the
15th century, particular to European history. The construction of these types of buildings was a
constant for various cultures for a thousand years. They can be categorized into three phases; Pre
Romanesque, Romanesque and Gothic. The most important buildings during medieval times were
religious, defensive and governmental or power related.

Much of the architecture in the Romanesque era evolved into Gothic architecture. The Gothic era
ran from the 12th century into the 16th century. There wasn t necessarily a clean break from
Romanesque to Gothic styles of architecture, but rather a gradual shift in design. The main
characteristics of Gothic architecture are the pointed ribbed vaults and arches, flying buttresses
and, in place of solid walls, a cluster of columns. Due to the vertical emphasis of the design, the
archways could be redesigned and stretched or pointed. Four main Figure 5 The depressed arch
supported by fan vaulting at King s College Chapel, England. types of arch designs that are
commonly found within Gothic architecture are the lancet arch, which is simply a steeply
pointed arch, the equilateral arch, the flamboyant arch and the depressed arch as seen in the
King s College Chapel. (see figure 5) Due to the new design of supporting the weight of the
ceiling through the columns and flying buttresses, there was no need for walls made of heavy
materials. With all the columns and archways in place, the structure took on a skeletal look. This
gave way to expanding the once small openings for windows to an expanse of window space
providing plenty of light to the interior of the structure. This space was commonly filled with
stained glass. From this, stained glass

The Godfather (1972). This quote tells tales about a more confusing time, when you simply could
not take no for an answer; if you did, your credibility and legacy would have diminished into thin
air. Therefore, the acts of persuasion used that coincided with a declined offer spoke volumes to not
only the recipient of the offer, but to that of all parties involved; ultimately showing your

There are 3 types of sounds used in The Godfather; dialogue, sound effects and music. You can
correlate the dialogue, or what is said throughout the film, to how you would imagine an
American Italian mobster talking, even today. Detailed sound is also very prominent, one scene
where sound used ambiguity to increase the connection between the film and viewer was during
that of Sonny Corleone s death. In the beginning of that scene it focuses on the traffic noise and
the ball game playing in the background. You are startled by the ringing of the toll booth as the
gate comes down and then hearing his change hit the tollbooth floor. When all seems normal
there is a hail of gunfire from every side and you can specifically hear his screams, glass
shattering and him falling to the ground. They are very intricate sounds you would not normally
hear over a hail of gunfire from dozens of tommy guns. Music is used to help the audience relate to
the mafia family. From the subtle background music that plays at the beginning to the theme music
played while Michael was in Sicily. With the music and gunfire being very prominent in the film it
definitely allows the audience to automatically view and relate this to a gangster

The Central Park Five
Introduction
Crime, deviance, and unethical conduct can found within almost every occupation and profession.
Police ethics is the conduct that everyone is most concerned with. Police officers enter into an
occupation that shares many characteristics of other career fields, but it also has unique
responsibilities that deal with conduct and behavior. The PBS documentary: The Central Park
Five, demonstrates two of the most common misconduct issues that the criminal justice
professionals deal with noble cause and noble cause corruption. The film investigates the
miscarriage of justice of four Black and one Latino teenager from Harlem, who were wrongly
convicted of the brutal beating and rape of a white woman in New York City s Central Park.
The Police Perspective
When this Central park case was made public, the New York Police Department and District
Attorney office s main focus was to solve the case as quickly as possible. When the five teenagers
were found wilding in the park the night of the women s death, the police believed they had found
the suspects. The police were so confident of the teenager s guiltiness, the five boys were
interrogated of their involvement in the crime. The police used their authority and persuasion to get
the boys to confess and promise them that they would go home if they talked. Through strenuous
and intense interrogation, the five boys confessed to the killing and rape of the young women on
videotape. These confessions were given even though

Song Of Solomon Love
Song of Solomon
The Song of Solomon or Songs of Songs is a unique book in the Bible due to its elaborate details
of romance and love. For this reason, many people have struggled to understand its place in the
Canon, but its place was ordained of God to reveal true love between a man and a woman. It is
also possible to see a relationship between God and Israel and/or Christ and the church. The
story begins with the fragrant words of the Shulamite woman for her lover. She speaks in such a
way that all who would hear her would be enthralled by her lovely rhetoric. Her lover then
responds to her with fair words of his own as equally delightful as hers. At this point, both are

Their love for each other is so strong that she has dreams of him and eventually admits that she is
lovesick. This so far could be considered the courtship scene. Next Solomon has her brought to
Jerusalem, where the Shulamite becomes his bride and they consummate their marriage this
could be thought of as the wedding scene. During this scene we witness Solomon claiming his
bride (3:6 11), extolling her beauty (4:1 7), and lastly as already mentioned, consummating the
marriage. For the duration of these events, we gain a valuable insight of the sexual relationship in
its purest form as God designed it. The couple enjoys a mountain top experience as they share
their love and he tells her how beautiful she is. This lovemaking is wholesome not twisted and
perverted as postmodern society has made it out to be. This snapshot of sex should be the standard
for all sexual relationships, but mankind in general has turned its back on God; That is why God
abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have
sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. The men also instead of having normal sexual
relationships with women, burned with

Rethinking What Counts. Perspectives on Wellbeing and Genuine Progress Indicator Metrics from
a Canadian Viewpoint Wilson Tyedmers (2013) discuss how recently the economic growth model
has been criticized, which has lead to rethinking how economic success and social wellbeing are
measured. Improved metrics have aimed to integrate social, environmental, and human welfare in
order to properly account for potential costs of economic growth (Wilson Tyedmers, 2013). Wilson
Tyedmers (2013) discuss the attempt to improve macroeconomic metrics and indicators with focus

Making adjustments to these methods and communicating their importance in an efficient way
are going to be important in the future to get more individuals behind the idea. I do question
alternatives to GDP because not everyone weighs things the same when it comes to wellbeing
therefore the use of these methods nationally or even locally might be unjustifiable. A theoretical
foundation to support the Index of Sustainable Economic Welfare (ISEW), Genuine Progress
Indicator (GPI), and other related indexes Lawn (2003) describes that ecological economists
have developed alternative indexes due to the inadequacy of GDP as a measure of human
progress, which can be use to measure and compare the benefits and costs of growth. These
alternatives to GDP such as the Index of Sustainable Economic Welfare (ISEW) and Genuine
Progress Indicator (GPI) support the threshold hypothesis but they have faced criticism based on
lack of theoretical foundation (Lawn, 2003). Lawn (2003) compares GDP, the Sustainable Net
Benefit Index (SNBI), and ISEW/GPI to the concept of income and capital as outlined by Fisher
(1906) to argue that macroeconomic alternative indexes are theoretically sound. The Fisherian view
believes economic welfare depends on psychic enjoyment of life and not on production or

Marjane Satrapi s Persepolis
The zeitgeist of 20th century Iran was nationalism. From the establishment of a constitutional
monarchy to the ongoing struggle against foreign invaders, it has been a tool utilized by
ideologues to further their own agendas. In Persepolis, a young Marjane Satrapi asserts the
metaphorical truism, The revolution is like a bicycle. When the wheels don t turn, it falls. Each
revolutionary was able to gain momentum by pedaling away from imperialist exploitation and
domineering but then sought to pedal the wheels towards the direction where their respective
interests lie, and in turn immobilized the bicycle, causing it to fall. Just as nationalism can be used
to overthrow a dictator, it can also be used to empower one.

[add something about the state of the country and how it fueled/surged nationalist resistance] As
Marjane s father tells her, it was Reza Khan who, with the assistance of the British, overthrew the
corrupt Qajar dynasty and was appointed shah (king). Propelled by the gust of nationalism that had
emerged in response to foreign takeover and domestic tumult, Reza worked to curtail outside
influence, reform and modernize the country. Nevertheless, he ruled with an iron fist that ultimately
led to his downfall, coming to be severely detested by the populace, succumbing to fascist
sympathies during WII, and being forced to abdicate in 1941. Though his son Mohammad Reza

statesman of tremendous passion who would come to represent Third World nationalism and go

s political consciousness. The first was a passionate faith in the rule of law, which made him an
enemy of autocracy and, in particular, Reza Shah. The second was a conviction that Iranians must
rule themselves and not submit to the will of foreigners. (Kinzer 53) It was in 1949 that

of two years, the National Front became the governing coalition and Mossadegh was elected prime

Benefits And Challenges Of Collecting Consumer Data
The purpose of this study is to determine the benefits and challenges of collecting consumer data.
Collecting consumer data has become increasingly popular for many businesses. Its main purpose
is simply to give a business a strategic advantage over their competitors. But how is this possible
and why do businesses rely on consumerdata as a source for competitive advantage? Even though
there are many methods that can be used to create a competitive advantage over the competition
within an industry, collecting consumer data has been proven to be one of the most efficient and
successful techniques. The purpose of this research project is also to analyze how companies put
consumer data to use and how companies benefit from collecting consumer information. Ultimately,
the goal is to understand the benefits of collecting consumer data, the challenges companies face
when attempting to collect consumer data, and understanding the purpose of collecting this data in
order to create a strategic advantage over competitors within the same industry.
Introduction
Collecting consumer data is essential for the future growth of any business. This data can be used in
many ways in order to allow businesses to forecast future sales of merchandise, track customer
interests, reach customers in the future, and meet the needs of future customers. Not only is it
essential to collect consumer data, but also it is necessary for companies to make use of that data
in order to

positive, steep rise in debt is a key concern. As the company is aggressively growing its assets, the

A Research Study On Moravian College
The Lehigh Valley is home to Allentown,Bethlehem, and Easton, as well as educational institutions
such as Moravian College; in short, the Lehigh Valley, specifically Bethlehem is known for its
diversity. In this research paper I will focus on Moravian College, its population and their
interaction with each other when they are walking around the campus. In this research, I anticipate
that while observing men and women of similar ages, men will tend to be more distracted and
focused on just one topic, while women will be walking closer to each other and talking about
multiple subjects. Both men and female will follow certain social norms that they were born into

During this time of the day, there were many men and women also know as college students
walking to their dorms with a group of friends and peers. To my own advantage, I was able to sit
on a hammock which gave me the perfect view to see men and women come from different
directions. In other words, it was rather easy to identify sidewalk behavior without making it
obvious that I was making such observations. In this first attempt, in order to come up with the
correct data, I counted all the men and all the women who were walking down the hill into their
dorms, the number of single groups, the mixed groups, and everyone who was walking alone.
Because no one noticed that I was observing their sidewalk behavior they didn t do anything that
would have affected my conclusion and data. Additionally, the second and final observation of
my research took place in front of the Haupert Union Building otherwise known as the HUB.
This observation took place on Tuesday, September 29,2015. The observation began at 7:00AM
and concluded at 7:30AM. As many may or may not already know, Tuesdays are lab days for half

students and as a consequence my data might have been affected by such student absence. To

Background and objectives: Portal vein thrombosis (PVT) is an increasingly recognized
complication of liver cirrhosis. It is associated with worsening liver function, ascites and the
occurrence of gastroesophageal variceal bleeding. The aim of this work was to clarify the risk
factors, clinical presentation and complications of portal vein thrombosis in patients with liver
cirrhosis and to study the outcome with or without treatment after
6 months follow up.
Methods: Hospitalized cirrhotic patients (N = 80) were segregated into the
PVT and non PVT groups. PVT was detected by

Pat Conroy s Memoir The Water Is Wide
Segregation in America has only just recently concluded. But during the writing of The Water is
Wide, the people of Yamacraw Island must infinitely live in their stagnant lifestyle of illiteracy, and
ignorance. The children from the island have received values and beliefs passed down from their
parents. In Pat Conroy s perspective, the government neglected Yamacraw Island and caused these
values and beliefs to remain in use. In the memoir The Water is Wide by Pat Conroy, the author
stresses the impact that segregation and national ignorance has on the people of a socially isolated
town on Yamacraw Island, South Carolina. Mrs. Brown, the first schoolteacher on the island, most
clearly demonstrates the theme of national ignorance. Mrs.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Every so often, Mrs. Brown pokes her head in and attempts to steer Pat Conroy s teaching
methods back on course in her favor. Pat Conroy works for a revolutionary change in the
students, while Mrs. Brown s continues a heartless attitude towards the children. One day in class,
Mr. Conroy tries to collect the students prior knowledge. Pat Conroy peruses their psyche s by
asking questions, starting from moderately hard, then gradually decreasing to basic knowledge.
He eventually decreases the difficulty to one incredibly easy question to the normal American. For
example, Pat Conroy relates, What country do we live in, gang? Everybody tell me at once, I
exhorted. No one said a word. Several of the kids looked at one another and shrugged their
shoulders (Conroy). This quotation clearly demonstrates that the government almost completely
neglected the students of Yamacraw Island. The students cannot even comprehend the name of the
land that they stand on, which focuses on survival in the modern world. The title of the book, The
Water is Wide, stands as an appropriate choice because the small river exists as the only thing
separating Yamacraw Island from the rich, fulfilled life of the outside world. When someone
crosses the river, everything taught to him or her becomes nonexistent on this new planet called
Yamacraw Island. The people of the Island live a completely different lifestyle than

Euthanasia Essay
Official Religious Views on Euthanasia and Assisted Suicide
This essay is dedicated to the expression of the various official views of religious bodies within our
nation. Most major denominations are represented. These religions have long been the custodians
of the truth, serving to check the erratic and unpredictable tendencies of political, judicial and
social bodies which would have Americans killing off their elderly and handicapped.
The National Association of Evangelicals believe that human beings are made in the image of God
and are, therefore, of inestimable worth. God has given people the highest dignity of all creation.
Such human dignity prohibits euthanasia, that is actively causing a person s death. ... Show more

Jewish tradition holds the preservation of human life as one of its supreme moral values. It takes
precedence over virtually all other moral values to the degree that only the violation of three
cardinal sins (idolatry, adultery and murder) in limited circumstances can claim precedence over
the imperative to preserve life. Nevertheless, Judaism acutely linked to the reality of the human
condition realizes there are circumstances in which a person might long for death. The Talmud
reports of Rabbi Judah the Prince suffering great pain from an illness and his righteous
maidservant praying for his death as an end to his suffering. At least one commentator cites this
passage as an approbation of praying for the merciful death for one suffering in pain from illness.
Even with this appreciation of our human reality, Jewish Law does not reduce the mandate that we
preserve life, even under the most challenging conditions. While rabbinic authorities, ancient and
modern, debate whether under limited circumstances medical treatments may be withheld from a
suffering person (thus, no longer delaying an inevitable death), it is abundantly clear that one may
not proactively hasten death. At the same time, Jewish Law would endorse the aggressive
palliation of pain to a degree not currently practiced in the medical profession. Rabbinic authorities
place such treatment under the rubric of loving one s neighbor as one s self

Power Of Music Essay
Music has been around for a very long time. Music has a way of influencing each and every one
of us to do things we don t even realize we are doing. There is a big difference between the power
of music and the influence it has on today s society. The world today is not anywhere near perfect,
but musicis there to take away the pain. On the other hand, the power of music is endless. It has
the power to make a grown man break down crying or a heartbroken widow smile. It has a way
of letting someone who is hurting inside let out their feelings for the world to hear and be there
for them. There is no end to the power of music, but music cannot fix everything. Bob Marley
once said, One good thing about music. When it hits you. You feel no pain. The world today is
filled with so much hate and sorrow, and music has a way of reaching those who are down in
life. Music has endless ways to inspire and cheer up anyone. The lyrics of a song are a poem that
tells a story whether it be a love song or a rap song. If everyone would take the time of day to
listen to the lyrics they would understand and feel the music on a whole other level. Although if
someone is feelingblue, a rap song probably isn t the one for them. The melody or the instrumental
part of the song is mind blowing. Take out the words and there is just pure music. It can put
someone in a trance of just pure imagination. As Elton Johnonce said, Music has healing power. It

The Importance Of Rehabilitation Needs In Oncology
Occupational therapy has the ability to potentially limit and reverse cancer related disabilities
amongst oncology patients, yet it remains extraordinarily underused within adult oncology
(Pergolotti et al., 2015). More knowledge is needed regarding functional independence in daily
activities of living, coping with stress, difficulties with employment, and the need for future care by
healthcare professionals after leaving the hospital (Hwang, 2015).
It is known that physical impairments resulting from cancer and the cancer treatment are best
addressed by physical therapists and occupational therapists (Sleight Duker, 2016). With this being

Therefore, it is necessary for rehabilitative services to be in place to allow for optimal occupational
performance after treatment (Movsas et. al., 2003). We suggest that although there have been
studies that recognize the effectiveness of OT interventions with oncology patients, more research
is needed to validate the importance of including OT practitioners within oncology treatment.
Implications for Occupational Therapy Practice
Occupational therapy practitioners have the knowledge and skills for producing the best quality of
life for cancer patients by focusing on their occupational performance issues. Evaluation of a client
should begin with an occupational profile that highlights their strengths and weaknesses and
managing approaches in various occupations within the context of the client s lifestyle. A holistic
treatment can contain a wide range of approaches that can be integrated into the client s plan to
improve occupation based problems. The strategies include energy conservation, coping, and
relaxation techniques for managing pain, fatigue, and difficulty sleeping. Exercise and leisure
programs are used to improve strength and mobility. Cognitive strategies, activity and work

The Overcoat Literary Analysis
In the short story The Overcoat, Nikolai Gogol satirizes government bureaucracy and illustrates the
ridiculousness of government figures. In the story, a ninth class clerk named Akaky has a new
overcoat stolen from him, and when he goes to the government for help, he is met with disdain that
eventually causes him to fall ill and die. Through the literary devices of tone, point of view, and
characterization, Gogol makes mockery of social classes and the government.
In the story, Gogol uses a humorous tone to satirize government officials. Although the subject
matter is very serious with Akaky s poor lifestyle on top of the crime he has fallen victim to, Gogol
uses humor to illustrate the silliness of government officials. One prime example ... Show more

He does this by telling the story in third person omniscient, and emphasizing the silliness of the
government s mindset by entering it, while also showing Akaky s shock to the ridiculous actions
of government officials. An example of this is the conversation between the important personage
and Akaky over the crime of his stolen overcoat. When Akaky first enters the office of the
important personage, the important personage is said to have spoken with a hard sharp voice,
that he has practiced at home in front of a mirror, before taking the job. Although it is shown to
the audience that the harsh disposition of the important personage is a farce, Akaky can not see
this. Gogol then flips to his perspective, where Akaky is attempting to control his tongue because
he is so scared. After the important personage attempts to establish himself as superior, Akaky has
to be taken out of the office, where he is almost unconscious. The perspective then flips back to the
important personage, who is pleased at the dramatic effect that he had created. Gogol uses this third
person omniscient point of view in order to show not only the sham of the self important
government officials, but also to illustrate its disastrous effect on the lower class. By looking at the

Now we will put light on the historical development of civil legal system. Civil law term derived
from ius civile (latin). This law was applicable for all the Roman cives or citizens. Orgins and

medieval academics of church of catholic or canon law were prejudiced by Roman law learning

makes the whole process of auditing less daunting as it used to be. Other benefits of following the

mostly doughnuts, all of which are high in carbohydrates, and therefore on the blacklist of many
Americans. In fact, as Americans become smarter about their health and their food choices, we can

Loss of the niche aspect of the product
As Krispy Kreme rapidly expands by opening up new stores and franchises, the supply of their
doughnuts has increased dramatically. Krispy Kreme s doughnuts used to be in very high demand,

Charter Schools Are Better Than Public Schools
CHARTER SCHOOLS ARE BETTER THAN PUBLIC SCHOOLS? Education is a very

How The Pig Farming Industry Affects Our Environment
The hog farming industry has always been one of controversy when it comes to its effects on the

Colbert s eighteen years in office were productive, as he would encourage the development of colonies belonging to France, such as Quebec and Louisiana, realizing the potential of using them to create an economically self sufficient unit within France. • 5. Ethical Responsibilities At The Termination Of Their Group .54#2. What are your ethical responsibilities to group members at the termination of their group? Explain As a group leader, I have a myriad of ethical responsibilities to the group members, especially at the closing of the group. I need to exercise due diligence by using sound professional judgement to make sure each of my clients have some form of closure before they leave the group. In order to facilitate and prepare the group members for closure, I wantto address three main points; I want to consolidate what they learned in the group, understand what they will do with what they learned, and how will they continue receiving support. Each member should share during this time. By consolidating what these men learned in this group, we will be able to understand where each member stands. In this group, members should have learned how to deal with their stress levels and find meaning in their diagnosis. Ethically, I needto recap during the last sessions with the clients to remind them what they have learned so the group experience was not for naught. Accordingly, I want to summarize with the group what they learned about the challenges of being HIV positive while encouraging them to use the skills they learned in the group outside of the group, while keeping the confidentiality of the group members. Accordingly with my facilitation, the clients should explore and summarize for themselves what they learned and how they have changed in the group over the past twelve weeks. ... • 6. Essay about Making the St. Louis Connection Adolf Hitler spent much of his life wanting to be a painter and when he was eighteen years old he fled with two other young men to Vienna. He and the two other men wanted to attend the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. The two other men were accepted but Adolf Hitler was not. He blamed his non acceptance on the fact that the art academy had been run by the Jewish and were discriminating against him. After years of failing in the art industry, Hitler s political ambitions rose to the surface and he brought the Nazi Party to power in Germany. Some museums cooperate and others do not and the battle between who the painting belongs to becomes an enormous court battle. The central theme of The Rape of Europa describes the lengths and expenses that a community should go to preserve their art. I believe that communities should go extreme lengths and expenses to preserve their art because art is part of our cultural and if past generations did not preserve their art then future generations would not be able to learn about their cultural, background and heritage. Also, in earlier times art was a way of communication. For instance, cave men and women would draw cave drawings and if scientist did not preserve these drawings then we would not know what life was like back then. The arts are a powerful vehicle for communication, a way to express visions that are beyond the capacity of words and a medium for cultural enlightenment and insight. Art also allows viewers to connect with the art and the artist in a deeper way than life can sometimes express. Communities should go extreme lengths and expenses to preserve their art because it provided a deeper insight to life. Barbie Dolls On Young Children Essay Mattel: Influences of Barbie dolls on young children Mattel is considered one of the most leading industry when it comes to the invention of toys and video games. Mattel is also a leading brand company that researches and develops new toys and then buys or license them from inventors. But what exactly are they doing to convince us consumers to buy their products? For the past decades now, Barbie dolls mainly created by Mattel have grown tremendously and have made a huge impact to children s lives. Kids are influenced by what they see on television and therefore automatically drawn to imitate whatever characters they seem to be interesting. Their characters, dressing, and responsibility influence young children to change dramatically. There wasn t necessarily a clean break from Romanesque to Gothic styles of architecture, but rather a gradual shift in design. The main characteristics of Gothic architecture are the pointed ribbed vaults and arches, flying buttresses and, in place of solid walls, a cluster of columns. It is also possible to see a relationship between God and Israel and/or Christ and the church. The story begins with the fragrant words of the Shulamite woman for her lover. These alternatives to GDP such as the Index of Sustainable Economic Welfare (ISEW) and Genuine Progress Indicator (GPI) support the threshold hypothesis but they have faced criticism based on lack of theoretical foundation (Lawn, 2003). Nevertheless, Judaism acutely linked to the reality of the human condition realizes there are circumstances in which a person might long for death. The Talmud reports of Rabbi Judah the Prince suffering great pain from an illness and his righteous maidservant praying for his death as an end to his suffering. At least one commentator cites this passage as an approbation of praying for the merciful death for one suffering in pain from illness. Even with this appreciation of our human reality, Jewish Law does not reduce the mandate that we preserve life, even under the most challenging conditions. While rabbinic authorities, ancient and modern, debate whether under limited circumstances medical treatments may be withheld from a suffering person (thus, no longer delaying an inevitable death), it is abundantly clear that one may not proactively hasten death. At the same time, Jewish Law would endorse the aggressive palliation of pain to a degree not currently practiced in the medical profession. Rabbinic authorities place such treatment under the rubric of loving one s neighbor as one s self ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There is a big difference between the power of music and the influence it has on today s society. The world today is not anywhere near perfect, but musicis there to take away the pain. On the other hand, the power of music is endless. It has the power to make a grown man break down crying or a heartbroken widow smile. It has a way of letting someone who is hurting inside let out their feelings for the world to hear and be there for them. There is no end to the power of music, but music cannot fix everything. Bob Marley once said, One good thing about music. When it hits you. You feel no pain. The world today is filled with so much hate and sorrow, and music has a way of reaching those who are down in life. Music has endless ways to inspire and cheer up anyone. The lyrics of a song are a poem that tells a story whether it be a love song or a rap song. If everyone would take the time of day to listen to the lyrics they would understand and feel the music on a whole other level. Although if someone is feelingblue, a rap song probably isn t the one for them. The melody or the instrumental part of the song is mind blowing. Take out the words and there is just pure music.
