safety regulations, finding an alternative plating process to the current hexavalent chromium
process has become a real necessity. Trivalent chromium has proved to be a suitable replacement

Before critically analysing the extent to which the doctrine of judicial precedent affects judicial
law making, one must first contemplate what the doctrine of judicial precedent is. The doctrine
is a rule that all lower courts are to be bound by the decision or ratio decidendi of the higher
courts. As a result of this, cases that are alike are decided in a similar way . However, it is not
this simple, as it will be seen throughout this essay that wider circumstances are involved that affect
the judicial law making process. Judicial law making (otherwise known as common law) is judge
made law rather than law set out in statute. The relationship between the two will be evaluated.
Firstly, it is important to outline the types of decisions that are made in courts. Decisions made in

Taking risks and trying new things is a thrilling moment for me. I can usually pride myself on
being adventurous when it comes to trying new food. Either trying a type of cuisine foreign to
me or choosing a new restaurant, I can always say that I will try anything at least once. If it is a
dish in a restaurant I have never tried before, or something that a family member or friend made, I
always think that nothing is so appalling that one bite may kill me. It is an exciting time for me, as
I might find a new foodtype that I had never heard of before that will end up becoming a new
favorite.
Sushi restaurants have been a favorite of mine for as long as I can remember. Japanese cuisine is
one of my favorites and I cherish every time I get to enjoy a meal at an authentic sushi restaurant.

rolls, and the many enticing side dishes. I am always willing to try anything and never seem to

At 4:00am on June 25, 1950, the North Korean People s Army (NKPA) crossed the 38th parallel in
force and invaded South Korea with the objective of unifying the two Koreas into a single
communist nation. General Douglas MacArthur would once again prove his value as a military
commander with his conception of Operation Chromite, which directed how the UN forces would
respond. MacArthur s unique gift in recognizing strategic opportunities, along with America s
ability to quickly gather military assets and counter in force, were key to the success of the
Operation Chromite landings at Inchon and turning the tide of the Korean War.
From the moment their invasion began, NKPA experienced success against the UN forces, led
by the United States and sent in to assist the South Korean Army. However, UN troops, all of
which were now under the command of General MacArthur, were literally overwhelmed at the
onslaught of the well equipped and experienced NKPA. By the end of July, UN forces had been
driven into a small area in the southeast portion of the Korean Pennisula around the Port of Pusan
(present day Busan). With the NKPA at their front, and the Sea of Japan at their back, UN forces
were in dire straight and running out of options. Only the visionary mind of General MacArthur
conceptualizing and executing Operation Chromite could avoid a military disaster and save South
Korea.
