Tipping Point Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of a "Tipping Point" can be both challenging and rewarding. The
concept of a tipping point refers to a critical moment when a situation undergoes a significant
change, often leading to a new and irreversible state. The difficulty lies in capturing the
complexity of this phenomenon and presenting a coherent and insightful analysis.
Firstly, one needs to delve deep into the subject, understanding its historical context, underlying
factors, and potential consequences. This may involve extensive research to gather relevant data,
studies, and examples to support the arguments. The challenge is to synthesize this information
into a cohesive narrative that not only educates the reader but also persuades them of the
significance of the tipping point in question.
Crafting a well-structured essay is another hurdle. The introduction should be captivating,
providing a clear overview of the topic and its relevance. The body of the essay requires a logical
flow of ideas, with each paragraph building upon the previous one. Balancing depth and breadth
is crucial, ensuring that the analysis is thorough without becoming overwhelming. Transitioning
smoothly between points helps maintain the reader's engagement.
Moreover, expressing complex concepts in a clear and concise manner can be demanding. It's
essential to strike a balance between academic rigor and accessibility, making the essay
comprehensible to a broader audience. Developing a unique perspective or argument adds
another layer of difficulty, as it requires creativity and critical thinking.
Additionally, maintaining an appropriate tone throughout the essay is vital. The language should
be formal and scholarly, but not so dense that it alienates the reader. Striking this balance ensures
that the essay is both informative and engaging.
In conclusion, writing a compelling essay on the topic of a tipping point demands a combination
of research skills, analytical thinking, and effective communication. However, the challenge is
part of the learning process, and successfully navigating it can be immensely gratifying.
If you find yourself struggling with this task or any other academic writing, you may consider

Female Sexual Offenders And Female Sex Offenders
Just like most crimes, the number of female sexual offenders is much lower than the
number of male sexual offenders. This is especially true about sex offenses. For a
while, most people didn t believe that woman could even commit a sex related crime;
besides prostitution. There is still a stigma around the topic; woman are the victims,
not the offenders. This is not true though. Femalesex offenders have their own
category. This is because their motives and actions are different than a man s. The
research done on female offenders can be bias because it is such a small amount
compared to the malepopulation of sex offenders.
Woman are thought to make up less than 5% of all sexual offences (Harris, 1979).
This is very small compared to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That is almost half of the offenders with a drug problem and one third of them with
an alcohol problem.
The victims of a female s sex offender are generally younger than a man s victim.
An investigation was held in Arkansas in 1999 and reported that 50% of their
victims were categorized as 11 16 and 24% were in the 4 10 age range (Tewksbury,
2004, p 368). Solis and Benedek mention a study that found 60% of males who
reported sexual abuse had identified a female as the offender (1993). The female
offenders who abuse young boys are suggested that they have a difficult time
associating with adult males and they use the boys as a substitution (Solis and
Benedek, 2012). This could be because of their own trauma as a child, they do not
have healthy relationships with any adult male in their life. So, they go after
children. It is also pointed out that females are more likely to victimize other females.
One thought on why females victimize other females is because they have a male
counterpart, who is attracted to females. According to Tewksbury (2004), the female
offender knew the victim:
In Fromuth and Conn (1997) s study of self reported sexual perpetrators in a
college population, 68% of the victims were identified as family members. Faller
(1995) reported that in the sample of 40 clinically referred perpetrators, 85% were
mothers and 55% abused only their own children, whereas 30% abused both their
own and other s children.
How Did Catherine The Great Influence Russia s Golden
Empress
Yekaterina: Russia s Golden Empress
From a small German principality to the very forefront of European politics, and
from Sophie Friederike of Anhalt Zerbst to Empress Yekaterina Alekseyevna,
Catherine the Great became one of Russia s most influential rulers in history. She is
regarded as one of the most powerful women the world has ever seen (Massie,
2011). Marked by political, societal, and cultural reforms, her reign, proclaimed the
Catherinian Age and the golden age of the Russian Empire, changed the country
irrevocably. Catherine s development of Enlightenment values, along with her
relationships with the French philosophes greatly impacted how she ruled (Lambirth,
2012). These values that she learned and instilled in herself led to the ... Show more

349). Catherine was frustrated by this, something that is apparent in the way she
uses language (p. 349) in regards to serfdom in the final draft of her Nakaz. Thus,
the parts relating to the subject of serfdom come out as a disorganized torrent of
jumbled words (p.349). During the actual assembly in 1768, the Russian nobility
all argued passionately in favour of serfdom, so, despite how Catherine herself felt
regarding the practice, the reactions by the nobles in the assembly made her back
away from further confrontation (p. 360). The Legislative Commission met just
over two hundred times and not one new law had been written (p. 360). By the
autumn of 1768, Catherine had had enough, and with the distraction of war
looming with Turkey, the last session took place on January 12, 1769, and never
met again (p. 361). This was however, forever regarded as the first attempt in
imperial Russia to give the people a voice in their own political destiny (p.
Indian Politics
Politics of India India is the largest democracy in the world. India has the biggest
number of people with franchise rights and the largest number of political parties,
which take part in election campaign. In the 1996 national elections, almost 600
million people voted and an average of 26 candidates competed for each of the 543
territorial constituency seats. Elections are held at different levels. The two major
election levels are at national level, after which the national government is
established and at state level after which the state government is established.
Elections are also held for city, town and village councils. There are different
political issues in Indian politics. Some are national level and some regional level....

In these elections members for the Lower House are elected. Head of a state is called
Chief Minister, who is member of the Lower House. Constitutionally the figurehead
of the state is the Governor, who is appointed by the President according to the advice
of the national government. After the state elections the governor calls for the
suitable candidate to form the government. In general the governor has more
legislative rights at state level than the President has at national level. The governor
can call on early elections in the state, or fire the government if he thinks that the
government has failed or is unstable. In the federal relations between the state and
central government, the central government has more authority on state matters than
the state government. For example the central government has the right to
redistribute the state borders without consulting the state governments on this matter.
If the political conditions in any state are not stable, the national government can call
on the President to declare President s rule in that specific state. And so the
government in that state is dissolved, which means an emergency rule is declared
and sometimes if necessary the army is put to work in that state. Even though the
Constitution determinates the rights of the different authorities in the administration
process, there can be other pressures like strong lobbies or strong political parties,
which, sometimes
A Brief Note On Bar Code Medication Administration Essay
Bar Code Medication Administration in the Emergency Department The major
concept in the healthcare setting is patient safety in health service quality. One of the
most common medical errors that affect patient safety and health outcomes is
medication errors. Medication errors in the emergency department (ED) can be
caused by many things such as poor penmanship, confusion of drugs with the same
names, confusion between dosing units and incorrect calculations of dosages
(Silverman, 2014). Bar code medication administration (BCMA) technology has been
implemented in several different EDs to reduce medications administration errors.
The purpose of this paper is to describe intradepartmental improvements that can be
made to increase patient safetyand compliance by nursing staff with medication
administration in the ED setting.
Addressing the Issue To determine the level of competency of nurses during
medication administration facilities should provide competency exams to nurses that
focus on medications administration procedures. Competency and education of
medication administration in nurses should be assessed during orientation and on a
yearly basis. Medication administration is one of the most common duties nurses
have in hospitals. According to the New Zealand Medical Journal, most of the
injuries and adverse reactions that result from the wrong medications or doses given
could have been prevented through safer medication practices and education (p 63).

The Influence Of Drinking And Driving

knowing what could happen if you drive under the influence of drinking. A lot can
happen and some people don t realize the damage that could be done once you are
behind the wheel. Drinking and driving can cause different affects. For example it
can cause not being able to concentrate on the road.
One of the problems or effects drinking and driving can have on a person is not
being able to concentrate on the road. In 2015, 10,265 people died from car crashes
related to driving under the influence of drinking. While driving a motorized vehicle
which could be a car, motorcycle, scooter, or etc, you have to be concentrated on
your surroundings. If you have drank and
Glossophobia Is The Fear Of Public Speaking
Importance of Communication
Glossophobia is the fear of public speaking. The average person ranks the fear of
public speaking higher than the fear of death. According to the National Institute of
Mental Health over 74% of people suffer from speech anxiety (Brain, 2016) . This is
a sad statistic being that communication is the backbone of our society. It is what
allows us to connect with others. Without communication skills, we would not be
able to form relationships, whether in our personal or professional lives. We, as a
society, tend to think that communication is only verbal. However, communication
includes nonverbal, written, even listening, as well as our body language. In fact,
over 70% of our communication is nonverbal. In this class I hope to improve on my
interpersonal communication by learning ways to overcome my fear and setting new
standards in the way I communicate with others. In my personal life, improper
communication has led to more than one situation that caused hurt to someone I love.
Likewise, I have been on the receiving end of hurt directly as a result of poor
communication.
Currently, if I were to rank my comfortability in speaking in front of the class, I
would say it would be a 4 out of 10. I know many people would think it would be
higher, but the fact of the matter is I have an anxiety when it comes to public
speaking. Being an extroverted personality often leads people to believe I would
have no problem speaking in public, but when the spotlight is on, it is an entirely
different story. The moment I know I must get up in front of a group of people, I
start to feel dread, my stomach goes into knots, my heart starts to race, and my
palms get clammy. I always try to be the first speaker so that these feelings of
dread can disappear sooner than later. Ironically, after I finish speaking (assuming it
went well) I feel a sense of accomplishment. There is a remarkable sense of pride
that comes with effectively communicating to your peers and being well received.
My hope is that by taking this Communication 100, I will find new ways to
effectively communicate, which will not only help me grow as a person, but will
further my success in the competitive job market. Some of the
Persuasive Essay On Bus Safety
The school bus safety in this time has gotten better and worse, but the one thing you
don t see in school buses too often are the seatbelts. I believe that seat belts are
needed in buses.
The first patented seat belt was created by American Edward J. Claghorn on
February 10, 1885 in order to keep tourists safe in taxis in New York City. This idea
slowly became more popular in the manufacturing of other vehicles. Competing
drivers were the first to be required to wear a seat belt. The real breakthrough with
modern seat belts came in 1958 when Swedish engineer Nils Bohlin was hired by
Volvo and he designed the seat belts we know today through a three point seat belt
that better protects the driver and passenger in an accident. The three point design
was created to help secure both the upper and lower body in an accident.
Since 1966, vehicles in America were required to have seat belts in their cars. By
1975, most first world countries had a seat belt requirement in their cars. Once the
three point seat belt became more common in cars, laws soon followed afterwards.
By 1970, the world s first seat belt law was created in Victoria, Australia, which
required passengers to wear their seat belts at all times. In the U.S., seat belt laws
came around the time of the creation of The National Traffic and Motor Vehicle
Safety Act of 1966.
From 2006 to 2015, there were nationally 301 school aged children who died in
school transportation related crashes: 54 were killed by school
Mercedes Benz Written Communication
Mercedes Benz is a German automobile manufacturer that is known for luxury
automobiles, buses, and trucks. The German luxury car manufacturer has been
around for more than a century and has outlasted the rough bumps in automobile
history. The brand, represented by the three pointed star, stands for the aspiration to
deliver the best in terms of products, technology and services. Mercedes Benzcars are
seen as some of the best cars in the world, standing as symbols of beautiful quality
and innovative engineering.
Analysis of Mercedes Benz Written Communication
On the Mercedes Benz homepage, if you scroll through it you will see the word
innovation being tossed about constantly. This is because, I believe, Mercedes Benz
wants the consumer to know that they are always innovating their products and they
are the leaders of the automobile industry today, tomorrow and in the future. On their
homepage, the company points to their many achievements over the century since
their conception. More specifically the many firsts they have been pioneers in. For
example, the first motor car was made by Carl Benz, the founder, which forever
changed the way people moved and how that car sparked the legacy of innovation.
By utilizing their history, Mercedes set themselves apart from other automobile
makers as always remaining the first. Continuing forward with their first theme, on
their website they also mention how Bertha Benz, Carl s wife, was the first female
driver in history as
Factors That Affect Soil Temperatures On Two Important
Ways
Mulches
Mulches can influence soil temperatures in two important ways. The first way is
through absorbing or reflecting incoming light. Dark mulches, such as solid black or
woven plastic, absorb solar radiation and can transfer this energy to warm the soil
below. Lighter mulches, such as white plastic or straw and hay mulches, reflect more
light and do not warm soil temperatures as much. Under warm summer conditions
lighter mulches can be a benefit because they may keep soil temperatures lower and
less variable, which can be an advantage to plants.
The second way that mulches alter soil temperatures is by reducing heat loss. Heat
can be lost from soil through the evaporation of water or when air temperatures are
lower than soil temperatures (such as at night). Mulches, both plastic and natural, can
retain heat by reducing both of these losses. Using mulches can also require attention
to watering because irrigation is needed when impermeable plastic mulches are used.
Natural mulches must also be carefully chosen to avoid the potential for introduction
of weed seeds or herbicides (for more information on these topics, see W 346D: The
TN vegetable garden: Plant management practices).
Floating row covers
Also known as direct covers, floating row covers are usually nonwoven plastic
films or agricultural fabrics that can be applied directly over crops. These covers
can be installed in large sections that cover many rows in the garden. The edges are
usually secured with soil,
Structural Possible Via Secondary Reinforcement
Techniques
CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
1.1General:
Concrete, as a result of its many desirable properties makes and moulds itself to a
variety of innovative designs. It can be cast in diverse shapes and with its several
advantages such as high compressive strength, low thermal and electrical
conductivity low combustibility and toxicity is considered to be a very attractive
building material.
However some deficiencies of the conventional cement concrete such as brittleness,
poor tensile strength; poor impact strength etc. resulting cracks and hence becoming
unsuitable for certain applications. Major research in this field identified crack free
concrete structural possible via secondary reinforcement techniques.
Deficiencies encountered with conventional concrete can be overcome by the
addition of fibres to cement concrete, which improves the crack resistance, fracture
toughness, resistance to impact and shock etc.
The micro cracks and interfacial discontinuities are the causes of unstable crack
propagation and low tensile strength of conventional concrete. The addition of fibres
to concrete would alter the crack propagation and makes it more controlled and slow,
which leads to reduction crack propagation and improved tensile strength.
Mostly researchers have used galvanized iron as fibre to study the effect of fibre on
compressive strength and other properties of fibre reinforced concrete. Galvanized
iron has high density; and this increases density of concrete as well as dead load of

The Prince And Niccolo Machiavelli s The Republic
The Republic is a Socratic dialogue written by Plato that is widely considered to be
one of the most influential and well known works in philosophy and political theory.
The Republic is largely focused on defining and explaining the concept of justice
through both a individual man and through the perfectly just city. This ideal city is
known as the Republicand throughout the work, there is much debate and
discussion over how the city should function and be run to create this perfectly just
environment. Throughout the dialogue, it is acknowledged that the republic is an
imagined city that doesn t exist anywhere on earth . (Glaucon 274) Along with The
Republic there have been many other philosophic texts that attempt to create the
model society or leader. In contrast to this style, The Prince written by Niccolo
Machiavelli is centered around how to maintain or take control of a kingdom and it
describes politics as he believes it exists in reality and not in one s imagination. The
Prince is well known for being a kind of counter to Platos Republic. The most
notable and obvious clash between the two writing can be found in Machiavelli s
criticisms of what he refers to as imagined republics . One can be certain that Plato
would have responded to Machiavelli s criticisms in a brilliant show of wit, however
Plato died in 347 B.C. and The Prince was not published until 1532. For one to
determine the manner in which Plato may have responded, one must first identify and
Advantages And Disadvantages Of Cultural Shock Essay
Whether you are deciding to travel around the world or living abroad in another
country, you have to bear in mind that cultural shock is an unpleasant experience you
must go through. It does not matter if you are visiting a country just for one week or
a month, cultural shock is both an inner and external process a person has to go
through when he or she is placed in a totally different culture. From greeting people,
to food or local customs, all those differences might lead to frustrate your
expectations of living abroad. Since cultural shock may cause people to have
negative experiences, everyone tries to avoid it but they fail to see that they should
embrace it instead. So, when living abroad in a culturally different country, it becomes

However, another reason for culture shock being inevitable might be the fact that,
at the end, it is an enriching and beneficial experience of learning. Living abroad
not only is a joyful experience but also a challenging one. Whenever you are living
in other country, you are presented with many challenges and new situations you
never thought of. For example, in the article, The Other Cheek by Charlie O
Malley, he tells how hard it was for him to adapt to Argentines way of greeting
people: It s every foreigner s nightmare to walk into a crowded room full of
Argentines and have to kiss and greet every one of them. Despite the fact that he
felt uncomfortable doing it, and that he was struggling with this daily life action, he
finally learned something, he learned how to greet in other culture. Having this
example in mind might raise awareness in those who think that cultural shock can
be avoided. Just as it was stated at the beginning, cultural shock is just as another
experience in life where we learn new skills and abilities. In addition, this example
is just a bit of what you can learn by living abroad in other country, for you can also
learn other cultures insight, traditions, and customs, among tons of other things. So,
avoiding cultural shock is not a choice, and neither beneficial for those who decide
to live abroad. People have to bear in mind the first stages consequences and hope
that, at the end, they will learn something
Literary Analysis Of Hillbilly Elegy
Literary Analysis The memoir Hillbilly Elegy, written by J.D. Vance, is the
remarkable story of a young man s challenges of growing up in poverty. The book
focuses on the difficulties that come along with living in Appalachia, and the family
issues that go on as well. Living in poverty introduced Vance to a world filled with
toxicity and violence. This unhealthy environment caused Vance to develop a conflict
within himself, making him struggle with his self identity. In Hillbilly Elegy, Vance
uses Conflict to empathize the toxicity that surrounded his family. The introduction of
toxicity in Vance s life can be traced back to the absence of his biological father. At
a young age, Vance s father gave him up for adoption. This was shocking... Show

She knew that at some point they d be gone...I had learned the same lesson (89). The
conflict with the children and the men their mother brought home made a toxic
environment. They were unable to create heathy relationships with the men due to
the fear and assumption of their eventual departure. The conflict between Vance s
mother and the men was also not healthy for the children, Vance writes, When I
heard [his mom] screaming at [one of the men], or weeping on the floor after an
especially intense argument...I felt guilty that she was going through this for my
sake (89). Although, the issues within the household were not related to Vance, he
still took on responsibility for his Mother s unhappiness. With the constant change
of men in Vance s life, came additional siblings to his already complicated family
tree. For a young child, the explanation of how many siblings he had was often
confusing and frustrating to explain. Without the ability to quickly summarize his
family ties, Vance became weary of the question and wanted to avoid it at all costs.
Being unable to confidently have an answer to how many siblings he had, Vance was
once again put into a toxic situation. The lack of stability and real relationships with
the people who were technically family to Vance, left him feeling disconnected,
Vance writes,
Compare And Contrast Ovid And Achilles
Achilles Through the stories in both Homer s Illiad and Ovid s Metamorphoses one
can see the power and the fury of Achilles, one greatest Greek warriors in the Trojan
War. In Homers Illiad, Homer illustrates the battle between Achilles Hector, who was
the Prince of Troy. In Ovid s Metamorphoses, Ovid illustrates the battle between
Achillesand Cycnus, who is the son of Neptune. In both battles, the outcome is the
same both warriors are slain by Achilles. While both stories have the same ending
with Achilles coming out victorious, they both paint very different stories of
Achilles. In one, they describe Achilles almost as human, seeking revenge with no
remorse. In the other, they show Achilles as pure rage, blinded by his own fury. By
comparing both of the battle stories, one can tell the differences both Homer and
Ovid try to express. In Homer s Illiad, Book 22, the story starts with the god Apollo
tricking Achilles, and making him run away from the battle in order to save the city
Troy. After Achilles figures this out, he makes way to complete his task at hand.
There at the Western Gate stood Hectorstanding his ground despite the attempts of
pleading reasoning from his parents, Priam, and Hecuba, to come back inside the

to escape the chase of Achilles. After a few trips around the city, Athena steps in and
tricks Hector by impersonating Hector s brother. Athena tricks him by saying

Orangutan Orangutans are a kind of ape. They are a big and red colored ape.
Orangutans are called Red Apes because of the color of their furs. Orangutans are
closely related to humans. Orangutans have 32 teeth just like humans. An orangutan
is common, 3.5 to 4.5 feet tall. Orangutans usually eat fruits, but sometimes they also
eat insects. Orangutans are only active during day time. Orangutans have strong
arms and it helps them to move from branches quickly. The arms of the orangutans
are very long. The distance of its left hand to its right hand is 7 8 feet. To avoid
predators the orangutans live and stay on trees so the predators won t reach them.
The orangutans are very smart because their brain is almost the same as humans.

History of Tattoos Essay
Malisa Smith
The History of Tattoos
Axia College University of Phoenix
Tattoos have been around throughout our history, from Egyptian times to the
present day. Many people may say they know the history of tattoos, and where they
originate from, but do they really? Does one know that there were reasons that
some people had tattoos? There may be people who know the actual history of
tattoos and body art and why one would decide to get one; however there are people
who do not. To be able to understand the idea of tattoos, one should educate
themselves to the history of tattoos. Although tattoos have been considered taboo and
a stereotype, history reveals that this particular form of body art has been used for
self expression, status and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This history goes back to as early as the XI Dynasty. In 1891, Amunet, a Priestess
of the Goddess Hathor, at Thebes, was discovered. According to Taylor (1998),
Amunet is believed to be alive sometime between 2160 BC and 1994 BC. Amunet
displays several lines and dots all over her body. The dots and dashes that were
found were found in a grouping pattern. This form of tattoo is believed to only belong
to women, and usually the women were associated with ritualistic practice. The
Egyptians had spread the practice of tattooing throughout the word. By the year
2000 BC, the art of tattooing had stretched out all the way to Southeast Asia
(Taylor, 1998). Although there is history that proves tattoos were used for many
reasons, some people still fell into groups that are considered stereotypes. The
stereotypes of people with tattoos were considered to be criminals, drug addicts, or
habitual underachievers. There is somewhat of a statistical truth to that slander.
Sadly when it came to people who had chosen to show their tattoos in public, the
stereotype is all too real. That is no surprise though; people with tattoos are treated
poorly by the majority. Traditionally, tattoo clientele was considered to be that of
bikers, bad boy personalities, and truckers; however all that seems to be changing.
There is still the tough guy image to contend with. However, it is mostly just with the

Internal Security Threat Regarding Employees
Part (i) Threat 1 a)Title: Internal Threats Employee threats b)Description of security
threatAn internal threat concerning employees is a wide ranging issue as it can
encompass various situations. The primary issue stems from an authorized,
nontechnical user or a system that can utilize the system without creating a red flag.
(Peltier, 187). c)Justification for inclusion with emphasis on risk and potential
damageThe internal threat is a primary issue as employees, statically, is the cause of
security issues. The information available to the employees can commit various
types of criminal acts from fraud, to insider trading, to breaking international laws.
There can also be issues with disgruntled employees, potentially if the employee is
only contracted or temporary. It is a common practice in large companies, especially
international companies, to outsource and contract work. This can create issues with
personnel if a contract is ended in an unexpected way. There is also an inherent
temptation with the information available, especially considering various white
collar crimes. d)Organizational responseAn organizational response would be to
create policies to deter internal attacks, which can be done in multiple ways. The
first method would require creating a training program to educate employees and
discourage such behavior. The second would be to create procedures outlining their
different levels of access that employees can have depending on their job

client centered therapy, education of student centered learning, organizations, and
other group settings. Even though psychoanalysis and behaviorism have made major
contributions to psychology, it has influenced the understanding and practices of the
humanistic movement, specifically with the therapies for the different mental
disorders. Psychoanalysis understands the unconscious behavior, behaviorism focuses
on the conditioning process that produces behavior. Humanistic psychology focuses
on the person s potential to act as a whole person in a nurturing environment by...

It is important that the therapist conduct sessions in a way where they are showing
themselves in the session without pretense. This allows a growth promoting climate
with the psychoanalysis of the client s behavior. An important factor for a successful
person centered therapy allows clients the freedom to develop and control their own
lives, rather than being tied to their past (Goodwin, 2008). This method also denotes
and consists of psychotherapy theory and humanistic therapy where the concentration
is on the present rather than the past, and the humanistic analyst tends to underlines
awareness instead of being unaware. Both theories share a common method while
patients and clients converse their feelings vocally and the therapist provide analyses.
In a humanistic therapy approach or a person centered psychoanalysis, the therapist s
center of attention is on the conscious of the client to show their awareness. In this
environment, such as the therapist displays realism, acceptance and kindness, as an
effort in helping the client to openly convey their feelings. These types of sessions
allows for information to flow between the client and the therapist in a humanistic
genuineness, realness, professional and no façade way. The idea is for the client to
freely express their thought and feelings to the psychotherapists so that in return
kindness and acceptance is
Challenges And Opportunities For The Government
Digital...
Every invention is faced by challenges and opportunities, which need to be taken
into consideration. Innovation doesn t only look at having an idea but solving a
solution to a problem and adapting ideas, which have already existed. Innovation is
the specific tool for entrepreneurs, the means by which they exploit change as an
opportunity for a different business or service . (Joe Tidd, 1997)
This essay will deliver an outline on the challenges and opportunities for the
government digital service, in order to give a more reflective view, the essay will be
fragmented into smaller segments, considering these questions in the case study that

Additional challenges in which the government digital services are facing is they
are trying to make services digital only, however, not everyone has access to a
digital devices such as smartphones, laptops or tablets to access digital services,
therefore excluding the general public. By excluding the general public, the
government digital service face the challenges of innovating the new service as it is
not able to understand their needs fully, therefore cannot come with better ways of
bridging the gap between the government and the citizens who are excluded from it.
Furthermore, another challenge in which is facing the government digital service
is shifting the website onto a more mobile platform such as smartphones due to the
fragile nature of the data being handled on an app, there is an issue of data being
stored and handled securely. This affects the aim of the GDS, as it wants to provide
the services in an easier and faster method. It can be disputed with the rise of
smartphones, it would be the most effected if it didn t have an issue of trust. This
would be an innovative challenge, as you cannot exploit the gap in the market for
mobile devices.
Opportunities regarding the government digital service can be examined through
services such as open data, as it allows a combination of different sources to be
accessible to the government. Instead of duplication of the data, it will enable the
data to be utilized in a more effective manner. It can
Grapevine Communication
GRAPEVINE AND ITS MANAGEMENT
INTRODUCTION
Grapevine is an informal channel of business communication. It is called so because
it stretches throughout the organization in all directions irrespective of the authority
levels. Man as we know is a social animal. Despite existence of formal channels in an
organization, the informal channels tend to develop when he interacts with other
people in organization. It exists more at lower levels of organization.
The dictionary gives us a definition for the grapevine which says it is the informal
transmission of information, gossip or rumour from person to person .The grapevine

PROS AND CONS OF GRAPEVINE COMMUNICATION
Advantages:
Grapevine channels carry information rapidly. As soon as an employee gets to know
some confidential information, he becomes inquisitive and passes the details then to
his closest friend who in turn passes it to other. Thus, it spreads hastily.
The managers get to know the reactions of their subordinates on their policies. Thus,
the feedback obtained is quick compared to formal channel of communication.
The grapevine creates a sense of unity among the employees who share and discuss
their views with each other. Thus, grapevine helps in developing group cohesiveness.
The grapevine serves as an emotional supportive value.
The grapevine is a supplement in those cases where formal communication does not
work.
Disadvantages:
The grapevine carries partial information at times as it is more based on rumours.
Thus, it does not clearly depicts the complete state of affairs.
The grapevine is not trustworthy always as it does not follows official path of
communication and is spread more by gossips and unconfirmed report.
The productivity of employees may be hampered as they spend more time talking
rather than working.
The grapevine leads to making hostility against the executives.
The grapevine may hamper the goodwill of the organization as it may carry false

Grassland Soil Erosion Of Grasslands
Environmental Science Professor Delia Comeau Case Study: Grassland Soil
Erosion Overgrazing of grasslands is an issue occurring in many areas around the
nation. In fact, it is the leading cause of all soil degradation, being responsible for
more than 30 percent (Withgott Lapostata, 2014, p. 222). Overgrazing has many
consequences: land degradation; poor soilquality; invasive species of weeds and
plants; 1loss in biodiversity; increased flooding prevalence and increased
magnitude; even a possible contribution to climate change (Withgott Lapostata,
2014, p. 229; Hogan, 2010). When faced with 500,000 acres of public land that are
enduring these issues, many steps need to be taken in order to determine the future
of the land and if grazing will be allowed to continue. One of the main ways of
helping determine the future use of the land is in the soil quality. By observing the
soil color, pH, texture, and structure, the proper means of restoration and conservation
can be better determined.
There are many aspects soil that can be observed and measured in order to
determine the quality of the lands condition. One property of soil that can be looked
at is the color. 2Soil color can determine its composition and fertility. Soil that is pale
in color usually suggest low organic contents and even leaching, while soil that is
dark browns and black in color often suggest higher organic content and richness
(Withgott Lapostata, 2014, p. 220). Soil pH is another property that helps

Another theme of the novel, we can say, is the nexus between the terrorists and the
criminals. The terrorists rely on the criminal organization to achieve their monstrous
and evil designs. We have also seen another side of the terrorists in which sacred and
spiritual fundamentalists have used their religion for personal gain; a view that hasn t
been surveyed in Western composition and literature. The author has kept South
Asian people in his mind when putting together the plot as the corruption and lack of
education is famous in South Asia. The people in the subcontinent are not well
educated and don t understand the system of the government due to which the whole
sub continent has brimmed over with corruption. The criminals are now increasing
day by day as the illiterate people are joining the criminal organizations for the sake
of money. Only the military is working hard to fight and eliminate terrorists. The
involvement of the foreign nations in the country politics has destroyed the country.
The foreign nations have drones which are playing a vital role in destroying the
society. The terrorists are increasing because of the poverty and illiteracy. The writer
has also focused on oppression of the government. He has explained that everything

Working Well And How Group Project If There Is A
Chance...
Based on the small group that I joined in communication class, I will talk about
what is working well and what is getting in the way in our group. Then I will
discuss about what I can do to improve the group and the things about group project
if there is a chance for a start over again. At last, I am also going to talk about what I
think that I learned is important lesson in this semester.
First of all, the things that were working well is about our different roles. We have
five people in our group and two girls with three boys. For example, three boys are
the Maintenance roles to help the group run smoothly (99). To be more specific,
they are always talking to each other to check when we have any group works due.
They also mentioned to us if there was any individual homework due. These are
the roles for keeping the group on track. On the other hand, two girls were more
like task roles and were to help get the job done (98). We are always divided works
for our group members to finish our group projects. We also will contact every group
members before our group meetings to make sure they finish their own works.
Therefore, having different roles is the thing that we are working well. Then what is
getting in the way is about our group meeting is on time now. When we just met
each other first time, we did not know each other very well. We are kind of
unconcern so most of us late for the first group meeting. However, when we talked to
each other more in the first group
Power In Macbeth Essay
corrupted by power, which corrupts Macbeth, as is unavoidable, was fate for it to
happen.
Macbeth had his and many others lives destroyed after gaining more power, and it
was mostly his fear of losing power that corrupted him. He ultimately could have
changed the outcome of his story, but his demise was fate set in place by three
witches.
In the path of Macbeth coming to power, and his need to remain in power, lie the
bodies of his former King Duncan, the chamberlains, Banquo, Macduff s wife and
children, Macbeth s own wife, and Macbeth himself.
After Lady Macbeth hears about the witches prophesy, she starts to think they should
murder Duncan.

In Macbeth, the witches tell Macbeth prophecies about him becoming king.
All hail Macbeth, thane of Cawdor! All hail Macbeth, thou shalt be king hereafter!
The first part of the prophecy, Macbeth becoming Thane, happens shortly after
without any of the witches doings. But the second part of the prophecy happens
because the withes told Macbeth it would happen, which started the series of events
eventually making all the prophecies come true.
Because the witches told Macbeth he would become king, Lady Macbeth thought
the fastest way for Macbeth to become king would be to kill Duncan. That wouldn t
have happened if Lady Macbeth hadn t been told it was a prophecy for her husband
to become king.
It could argued that it was avoidable for all the corruptive events to take place had
some of the characters acted differently. But because of the personalities of the
characters, and the witches part in setting the events in motion, the actions of the
characters and their consequences were
Essay On How To Build Business Credit
How To Build Business Credit
So many business owners fail at establishing business credit due to fact most have no
idea how to approach the idea of achieving business credit credibility.
The lenders care about one thing:
Are you attractive on paper?
That is truthfully the only thing any lender will ever worry about. All lenders
measure risk in an effort to help them reduce the default rate a prospective client
could have. They do this by measuring the fundability of a business.
Here s five quick tips to help you establish your business credit in the quickest fashion
1. Ensure everything in your business is set up. You must be in a position to receive

Knowing what trade lines are popping on your business credit profile is crucial to
the success of a business owner. Reason being, many revolving lines of credit rely
on the fact of starter vendors as trade references before extension of corporate credit
will be granted. Knowing what is on your business credit report can be the difference
between success and failure in establishing business credit quickly.
4. Make sure you are using no personal guarantee, no personal credit check vendors to
get started.
The idea of building corporate credit is to remove your personal liability from your
business risks right? Well then for that to be true a business owner must not take
on personal guarantees or allow personal credit checks to take place to be approved
the right way for business credit. Knowing which vendors do not require personal
guarantees of personal credit checks can be tricky. You have to have access to
underwriting guidelines to know exactly which ones do and which ones do not. We
have those inside our business finance suite. You can request this information up front

Henry VIII And Louis XIV Essay
Henry VIII and Louis XIV
Henry VIII and Louis XIV were both men whose accomplishments on a national
level for their respective countries of England and France were great, but whose very
different personal problems gave them a negative impression in history. The two
leaders had very different ruling styles, but with a few similar themes throughout.
Perhaps the best thing to look at first is their very different attitudes toward God and
GodВ№s power in monarchy and state. Henry
VIII on England grew up as a very strong Catholic, at the insistence of his mother
and father. He was known to be Віa man of daily devotionals, setting an example for

This war, which ended in 1714, left France exhausted and weakened.
Both men had a common ability to see the goodness in other men as royal advisors.
Both hired surprisingly intelligent and wise men to run their affairs for them, perhaps
Henry even more than Louis XIV. One of HenryВ№s chief advisors is immortalized
in ShakespeareВ№s ВіThe Life and Times of Kind Henry VIIIВІ.
Cardinal Wolsey is spoken of there as Віa man such as history had never yet laid
their eyes upon, a man who could have others get his own will enforcedВІ
(Shakespeare 78). Wolsey spent little time at the British court, but the time he spent
was valuable. He served as chief advisor to a young, newly crowned, and
impressionable King Henry. He formed HenryВ№s ideas about government, spoke
for the monarch in assembly, and reputedly taught Henry everything he knew about
economics from an early age. Two other advisors are also known to history as
serving in HenryВ№s later life, Thomas Cromwell and Thomas More.
Likewise, Louis XIV, in a mark of true genius, was wise enough to appoint someone
wiser than himself to run the government. He had many, and oddly, most of their
names have been erased from history. Jean Baptise Colbert, advisor to Louis in his
formative years as a monarch, later wrote in prison, Ві

Life During The Vietnam War
Introduction Life during the Vietnam War, from the point of view of a US Navy
sailor, was the main subject of the interview. For the most part we talk about what
the life of a sailor consisted of during that time period, but there is a few underlying
themes. Like the interaction between different races within the US Navy and there is
some talk of rural Maine during and before the war.

Analysis Of Lou Kline In A Visit From The Goon Squad
In a novel that jumps between periods of time and interchanges multiple characters,
Lou Kline is one of the only consistent elements throughout the entirety of A Visit
From the Goon Squad by Jennifer Egan. Lou is first portrayed hostily as a
abhorrent, egocentric man who fears growing older. In the next chapter, the reader
s perception of Lou is altered from a sleazy man to a more paternal figure, and the
reader understands that while Lou has done despicable things, he is not
completely immoral. Altered again, the final image of Lou is that of pity as a
dying man, his failures are recounted and he is therefore at his most vulnerable.
Egan s non linear structure of the novel allows the reader to see multiple sides of
Lou Kline through different character perspectives, and in the end amplify the
merciless effect time has on a destructive urge to remain youthful and assert
dominance to win at everything. Lou s youth is characterized by in the moment
actions, an abundance of girls, and reckless living. Afraid of aging, he spends his
whole life in this state of mind. Even on his deathbed he invites Rhea and Jocelyn,
young girls from his past, to visit him in order to experience a final youthful
atmosphere. The narrator, Rhea, describes Lou as having a surfer s face,
connoting perceived inward youth while people looking at him would see his face
had gone a little draggy under the eyes (Egan 60). He shows many signs of
childishness and carelessness when he ignore[s] the rule to stay seated while the
jeep is moving and again when he sees lions and proceeds to climb out of his seat
with the others and they jam their upper upper halves through the open roof (Egan
66). This carelessness shows a lack of a sense of responsibility as not only an adult
but also a father, as evidenced in his lack of care for Rolph s true personality and
his passive aggressive attitude to Charlie as she defies him. When Charlie giggles
and Lou asks her what s so funny, he mocks her answer: Life! Lou snorts. How old
are you? Ironically this response is so childish that it makes the reader question the
mental age of Lou himself. While Lou does show a more maternal side in this
chapter, it is overtaken by his
Maternity Leave In Ohio
The advantages are social and cultural, giving the mother time to destress and care
for her baby, while also taking the stress of earning money away. New mothers and
families will gain the security and safety of paid maternity leave, resulting in a
better future for our state, our country. An economical advantage is for the mothers
and families who will be financially stable during this time and without the worry of
earning money they need to provide necessary, basic needs to the newborn. By
implementing this solution, lower and middle class families of Ohio are better cared
for and women get the rights they deserve. All in all, the solution will bring many
positive changes to our state. The disadvantages are mostly economical for businesses,

An alternative solution is that one company decided to create a program to both
allow mothers time with their child while at the same time being able to advance in
their careers. Inkwell implemented a program where mothers would work almost as
if part time and still have paid leave. They would spend about 20 hours in the work
week working and the rest of the time they would spend raising their newborn. Not
only does this help the woman s career keep moving, but it also helps her spend
time properly caring for her child. The program allows for flexibility in their
schedules so they can focus on both work and family, without putting one in front of
the other. While this is progress for the issue, it only pertains to the one company.
The rest of America needs to get on board. Some of the advantages to Inkwell s
solution include the family is being supported financially, the mother can continue
improving in her career, stress is taken off of the mother because of the flexible
schedule, and the company doesn t completely lose a worker. The disadvantages of
Inkwell s solution include that while the mothers are still working part time, the
employer would still need to hire and pay new employees to fill the spots while the
mothers aren t working. Another alternative solution was developed when Marisa
Torrieri wrote a Forbes article about how unpaid maternity leave could work, if the
mother takes some things into consideration. Since money is one of the main
things that mothers are worried about by taking a leave, Torrieri highlights ways to
ensure the money doesn t become a problem. The first thing a mother can do is take
extra work at their job before the baby comes so they can be financially sound
during the leave. She also states that some employers may be willing to give an
employee paid leave, but most mothers are reluctant to ask. She mentions practicing

The Noble Marcus Brutus In The Tragedy Of Julius Caesar
What defines a tragedy? In the words of author Amos Oz, a tragedy is a clash
between right and right. One can imply from this quote that the hero of a tragedy
must face the ultimate decision of choosing between two morally conflicting
options. In addition, Aristotle s definition of a tragic hero includes that they must
make an irreversible mistake caused by their fatal flaw, whether it be hubris like
Oedipus of Sophocles tragic Greek play Oedipus Rex or other qualities. By analyzing
William Shakespeare s play, The Tragedyof Julius Caesar, one can see that noble
Marcus Brutus faces the struggle of deciding between two choices that are both

For instance, the protagonist of The Odyssey, Odysseus, suffers from hubris as it
causes the gods to turn against him due to his disrespectful acts of superiority
towards them. Similarly to Odysseus, Brutus has flaws of his own, the principal
fault being his sense of nobleness. When Brutus is manipulated into taking part in
the assassination of Caesar, he is the sole conspirator to have a noble motive in
killing Caesar. In his soliloquy, he justifies Caesar s murder by asserting, It must
be by his death; and for my part, I know no personal cause to spurn at him, but for

This paper will be explaining the three major divisions in the hard of hearing
community. The three major divisions in the hard of hearing community are
prelingual, post lingual, and presbycusis. These three divisions will be compared and

percent of the English language can be read solely on lips is absolutely
unfathomable (Student Disability Services, 2017). This all depends on how
extensive the hearing loss is with each child. As most could predict, children with
post lingual hearing loss will have a similar experience to those with prelingual,
however they should mostly have a good basis of the spoken word. In Shouting
Won t Help by Katherine Bouton, she tells her story of her struggles in society and
with her personal life as a person with hard of hearing. Bouton has post lingual
hard of hearing because she lost her hearing when she was thirty years old, way
after she had learned the spoken English language. She doesn t have much trouble
with reading and writing, but reading lips is always harder because only about
forty percent of sounds can be read on lips (Bouton, 2014). Last, but not least, is
presbycusis hard of hearing. An example of this type of hearing loss comes from
the book Odyssey of Hearing Loss: Tales of Triumph by Michael Harvey. In
chapter six, Norma is an elderly lady that refuses to wear her hearing aids, so her
children bring her to therapy because they believe she s in denial. Norma has
experienced her hearing loss so late in life that these hearing aids and the fact that
she doesn t function quite like she used to, is a scary situation she isn t read to wrap
her head around (Harvey, 1998). She reacts to her hearing loss a lot differently than
someone with prelingual
“This Hotel Is Amazing!” Sam Squeals With
Excitement As
This hotel is amazing! Sam squeals with excitement as she opens the door to our
room. Okay, you have to agree with me that I made a pretty good judgment on going
with this hotel.
Yes, I have to hand it to you, you did a good job. I say. What other surprises do you
have up your sleeve?
You will just have to wait and find out. Sam replies.
Knowing you, it will probably be something that I won t want to do and then you will
talk me into your bad plans like you always do. I state.
That s what friends are for. Sam says taking my comment as a compliment.
What does our evening look like tonight? I ask.
First things first, let s get out of these travel clothes. Sam says sticking her tongue out
as she pulls on her oversized ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It s fun to tease him knowing he is going to have to wait a week for this.
You re so mean! I say.
Boys want what they can t have. Sam says. It just makes him love me that much more
when I get home.
Oh Sam. I say. She has the answer for everything.
You just about ready there girl? Sam asks.
Just about. I say I just need to put on my other earring.
Fabulous! Sam squeals as I come out to grab my purse and shoes.
Why hello there tiger. I say to her. Her hair is done up in big volumous curls.
All right then, let s go! Sam shouts.
Sam links her arm through mine and we head out.
So where are you taking me? I ask.
Just follow me and you will see. Sam says.
We walk out the front of the hotel and you can see the sun starting to set. The sky
is vibrant with colors of rosy pink, scarlet red, blood orange and some deep, velvety
purple. It seems like the perfect night for exploring. San Francisco is so beautiful.
Like I said before, at night is when the city comes alive. We walk about 3 blocks
away from our hotel. We pass several old buildings with beautiful architecture. I
eye up a few quaint boutiques along the way making note of where they are so
maybe Sam will let me go tomorrow or one of the days at least. We are not too far
from the water and as I look out I see the lights glimmering in the reflection on the
still water. I bet Aden would love it here. Maybe next year we can plan a trip here
Causes Of Water Scarcity In China
Water scarcity in China Huy Nguyen 8M Introduction:
Many of cities in China are water stressed, with millions of Chinese in rural and
urban areas lacking clean, accessible water which is suppressing the growth of the
Chinese economy and general health. China s water problems are mainly caused by
the wet and dry spatial distribution between Southern and Northern China
respectively, as well as wasteful usage of water and under education in aqueous
usage. However, this problem is being confronted with by NGO Lien Aid which has
helped build pipelines and taps for poorer areas of China.
Spatial Distribution China s main food source, rice, is largely grown in Northern
China, however, many of China s water supplies are located in the South with two
of China s largest rivers, the Yangtze and Huang He located there meaning there is
insufficient water for crop in Northern China. Due to Northern China being poorer,
it has had to grow and export crop which requires water, to the rich, wet South. With
many provinces in Northern China such as Hebei and Xinjiang exporting a large
amount of water in crop despite having to dig 200m to find usable water, this means
that the already poor provinces which are unable to fix its water crisis have to also
export much of its clean water in crops to supplement income.
The west of China faces the Gobi desert meaning provinces such as Xinjiang and
Hebei are desperately stressed
Essay on Karen Horney s The Distrust Between the Sexes
Karen Horney s The Distrust Between the Sexes
In Karen Horney s The Distrust Between the Sexes, she attempts to explain the
problems in the relationships between men and women. She writes that to understand
the problem you must first understand that problems stem from a common
background. A large amount of suspiciousness is due to people s intensity of emotions.
Early in Horney s essay, she defines passion and discusses why it is rare. People do
not feel safe putting all of their faith and trust in only one other person. Horney
explains that self preservation is part of human instinct, and people have a fear of
losing themselves in their loved one.
Next, Horney explains how people often overlook their own impulses. The ... Show

Next Horney explains that children undergo painful experiences of being betrayed
and lied to. They may also have to submit to taking second place to a family member.
The child is helpless in all of this and the child s only way to vent fury and anger is
in the form of extravagant fantasies. These fantasies are often brutal, criminal, and
destructive in nature. The child s inability to understand these destructive forces
makes them equally fearful of adults.
Horney goes on to explain the later childhood side of relationship fears. A little girl
who represses her wish, due to a guilty conscience, would grow up projecting that
wish on every male. Often she will shy away from accepting or demanding anything
from her husband. This can leads her into a depressed state under which she will shift
the responsibility of helplessness onto the man. Under the guise of being helpless, she
thus dominates her man.
In the middle of Horney s paper she gets into the traits of male psychology. She gives
many examples of how men hold women in high esteem, but writes that they have a
secret distrust of women. One of Horney s best examples would have to be the story
of Adam and Eve. The story devalues women s ability to give birth, and makes them
seem to be sexual temptresses. It is the sexually attractive female that man is afraid
of. Women are considered to be deeply rooted in their emotions. This is often men s
excuse for
The Progression Of Music In History
Progression Of Music in History
Music has made many breakthroughs within its own history. Not only has it evolved
in its sound but representation in other forms of media. Music s overall topic,
popular genre, sound quality, and how its made has made great progress. The
difference between newer and old music is very commendable. Music is being made
differently all together.
Many topics from older music during the 11th century was religious or relating to
forms of spirituality. In the mid to early 1600 s, music was focused on the
composition of instrumental elements. Pianists such as Beethoven are famous for
their great work on the piano and writing the music. 1930 s music is considered
swing, dance, or big band music relating to the major
Lexus and the Olive Tree Summary
The Lexus and the Olive Tree, written by Thomas L. Friedman, investigates the
phenomenon of globalization in our world and how it has established a new
international system that has replaced the cold war. This new system of globalization
connects people from all over the world from Southeast Asians fighting a recession to
Thai bankers to entrepreneurs in the United States. Friedman credits that the
democratization of technology, information, and finance has shrunk our world from
small to tiny where people all over the world can now transfer information cheaper,
deeper, and faster. The walls that once separated our world have now been torn down
with the development of the Internet and the television.

Chapter 9 goes into the building blocks of democracy that the Herd is imposing and
the government can t resist, such as transparency, standards, free press, corruption,
bond and stock markets, and democratization. Chapter 10 questions your company or
countries connectivity based on productivity and explains how the evernet is now
exploding across the country. Chapter 11 goes over some questions to evaluate to see
where your company or country stands, such as the growth, the weight, and the brand.
Chapter 12 dives into the theory of conflict prevention using the analogy of
McDonalds. He states that as of 1999, no two countries that both had McDonalds had
fought a war against each other and that the only three Middle Eastern countries that
do not currently have a McDonalds are Syria, Iran, and Iraq.
Section two ends with the Demolition Man in chapter 13 and The Winner Takes All
in chapter 14. The demolition man is basically the danger that because globalization
is moving so fast and with such force, it could wipe out the ecological and cultural
diversity that took millions of years to produce. It also explains that the gap between
the winner and the loser is getting even bigger because of the effects of globalization.
The two chapters in section three are dealing with the backlash and the groundswell.
The backlashers consist of those who feel threatened by globalization because they

When the read/write head touches the rotating platter of a hard disk, it leads to
head crash. When even the smallest bit of dust enters the sealed drive unit and
settles on magnetic surfaces, it gets stuck in the thin gap between the head and the
disk. Dropping a disk to the floor may also cause hard disk malfunction. Not only
this, even the slight jerk or vibration can unsettle alignments and lead to hardware
malfunction. (b) Sudden catastrophic failure: When you cannot detect the presence
of the hard drive in the CMOS setup or when the operating system doesn t locate
the hard drive, it s logical to think that the data loss has occurred. This POST failure
results in hard drive to become inactive. This is when you hear the clicking noise
from the hard drive. Sudden temperature variations may directly influence the data
loss to occur. (c) Electrical Failure: Another issue ultimately resulting in the loss of
information is electrical failure, which can occur any time. Electrical failure is the
direct effect of the circuit board failure, which is located on the bottom of the hard
drive. A faulty component, electro static discharge, damaging circuitry during
installation are some of the various causes leading to electrical failure. It is important
to keep the system clean and well ventilated; otherwise, it may cause electrical
components to fail functioning properly. Hence, it is recommended to keep the
system in cool

Tipping Point Essay.pdf

  • 1. Tipping Point Essay Writing an essay on the topic of a "Tipping Point" can be both challenging and rewarding. The concept of a tipping point refers to a critical moment when a situation undergoes a significant change, often leading to a new and irreversible state. The difficulty lies in capturing the complexity of this phenomenon and presenting a coherent and insightful analysis. Firstly, one needs to delve deep into the subject, understanding its historical context, underlying factors, and potential consequences. This may involve extensive research to gather relevant data, studies, and examples to support the arguments. The challenge is to synthesize this information into a cohesive narrative that not only educates the reader but also persuades them of the significance of the tipping point in question. Crafting a well-structured essay is another hurdle. The introduction should be captivating, providing a clear overview of the topic and its relevance. The body of the essay requires a logical flow of ideas, with each paragraph building upon the previous one. Balancing depth and breadth is crucial, ensuring that the analysis is thorough without becoming overwhelming. Transitioning smoothly between points helps maintain the reader's engagement. Moreover, expressing complex concepts in a clear and concise manner can be demanding. It's essential to strike a balance between academic rigor and accessibility, making the essay comprehensible to a broader audience. Developing a unique perspective or argument adds another layer of difficulty, as it requires creativity and critical thinking. Additionally, maintaining an appropriate tone throughout the essay is vital. The language should be formal and scholarly, but not so dense that it alienates the reader. Striking this balance ensures that the essay is both informative and engaging. In conclusion, writing a compelling essay on the topic of a tipping point demands a combination of research skills, analytical thinking, and effective communication. However, the challenge is part of the learning process, and successfully navigating it can be immensely gratifying. If you find yourself struggling with this task or any other academic writing, you may consider seeking assistance. Various services, such asHelpWriting.net, offer support in crafting essays, research papers, and more. Their expertise can be valuable in overcoming the challenges associated with academic writing. • 2. Female Sexual Offenders And Female Sex Offenders Just like most crimes, the number of female sexual offenders is much lower than the number of male sexual offenders. This is especially true about sex offenses. For a while, most people didn t believe that woman could even commit a sex related crime; besides prostitution. There is still a stigma around the topic; woman are the victims, not the offenders. This is not true though. Femalesex offenders have their own category. This is because their motives and actions are different than a man s. The research done on female offenders can be bias because it is such a small amount compared to the malepopulation of sex offenders. Woman are thought to make up less than 5% of all sexual offences (Harris, 1979). This is very small compared to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That is almost half of the offenders with a drug problem and one third of them with an alcohol problem. The victims of a female s sex offender are generally younger than a man s victim. An investigation was held in Arkansas in 1999 and reported that 50% of their victims were categorized as 11 16 and 24% were in the 4 10 age range (Tewksbury, 2004, p 368). Solis and Benedek mention a study that found 60% of males who reported sexual abuse had identified a female as the offender (1993). The female offenders who abuse young boys are suggested that they have a difficult time associating with adult males and they use the boys as a substitution (Solis and Benedek, 2012). This could be because of their own trauma as a child, they do not have healthy relationships with any adult male in their life. So, they go after children. It is also pointed out that females are more likely to victimize other females. One thought on why females victimize other females is because they have a male counterpart, who is attracted to females. According to Tewksbury (2004), the female offender knew the victim: In Fromuth and Conn (1997) s study of self reported sexual perpetrators in a college population, 68% of the victims were identified as family members. Faller (1995) reported that in the sample of 40 clinically referred perpetrators, 85% were mothers and 55% abused only their own children, whereas 30% abused both their own and other s children.
  • 3. How Did Catherine The Great Influence Russia s Golden Empress Yekaterina: Russia s Golden Empress From a small German principality to the very forefront of European politics, and from Sophie Friederike of Anhalt Zerbst to Empress Yekaterina Alekseyevna, Catherine the Great became one of Russia s most influential rulers in history. She is regarded as one of the most powerful women the world has ever seen (Massie, 2011). Marked by political, societal, and cultural reforms, her reign, proclaimed the Catherinian Age and the golden age of the Russian Empire, changed the country irrevocably. Catherine s development of Enlightenment values, along with her relationships with the French philosophes greatly impacted how she ruled (Lambirth, 2012). Catherine was frustrated by this, something that is apparent in the way she uses language (p. 349) in regards to serfdom in the final draft of her Nakaz. Thus, the parts relating to the subject of serfdom come out as a disorganized torrent of jumbled words (p.349). During the actual assembly in 1768, the Russian nobility all argued passionately in favour of serfdom, so, despite how Catherine herself felt regarding the practice, the reactions by the nobles in the assembly made her back away from further confrontation (p. 360). The Legislative Commission met just over two hundred times and not one new law had been written (p. 360). By the autumn of 1768, Catherine had had enough, and with the distraction of war looming with Turkey, the last session took place on January 12, 1769, and never met again (p. 361). This was however, forever regarded as the first attempt in imperial Russia to give the people a voice in their own political destiny (p.
  • 4. Indian Politics Politics of India India is the largest democracy in the world. India has the biggest number of people with franchise rights and the largest number of political parties, which take part in election campaign. In the 1996 national elections, almost 600 million people voted and an average of 26 candidates competed for each of the 543 territorial constituency seats. Elections are held at different levels. The two major election levels are at national level, after which the national government is established and at state level after which the state government is established. Elections are also held for city, town and village councils. There are different political issues in Indian politics. Some are national level and some regional level.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In these elections members for the Lower House are elected. Head of a state is called Chief Minister, who is member of the Lower House. Constitutionally the figurehead of the state is the Governor, who is appointed by the President according to the advice of the national government. After the state elections the governor calls for the suitable candidate to form the government. In general the governor has more legislative rights at state level than the President has at national level. The governor can call on early elections in the state, or fire the government if he thinks that the government has failed or is unstable. In the federal relations between the state and central government, the central government has more authority on state matters than the state government. For example the central government has the right to redistribute the state borders without consulting the state governments on this matter. If the political conditions in any state are not stable, the national government can call on the President to declare President s rule in that specific state. And so the government in that state is dissolved, which means an emergency rule is declared and sometimes if necessary the army is put to work in that state. Even though the Constitution determinates the rights of the different authorities in the administration process, there can be other pressures like strong lobbies or strong political parties, which, sometimes

A Brief Note On Bar Code Medication Administration Essay Bar Code Medication Administration in the Emergency Department The major concept in the healthcare setting is patient safety in health service quality. One of the most common medical errors that affect patient safety and health outcomes is medication errors. Medication errors in the emergency department (ED) can be caused by many things such as poor penmanship, confusion of drugs with the same names, confusion between dosing units and incorrect calculations of dosages (Silverman, 2014). Bar code medication administration (BCMA) technology has been implemented in several different EDs to reduce medications administration errors. The purpose of this paper is to describe intradepartmental improvements that can be made to increase patient safetyand compliance by nursing staff with medication administration in the ED setting. Addressing the Issue To determine the level of competency of nurses during medication administration facilities should provide competency exams to nurses that focus on medications administration procedures. Competency and education of medication administration in nurses should be assessed during orientation and on a yearly basis. Medication administration is one of the most common duties nurses have in hospitals. According to the New Zealand Medical Journal, most of the injuries and adverse reactions that result from the wrong medications or doses given could have been prevented through safer medication practices and education (p 63). • 7. Glossophobia Is The Fear Of Public Speaking Importance of Communication Glossophobia is the fear of public speaking. The average person ranks the fear of public speaking higher than the fear of death. According to the National Institute of Mental Health over 74% of people suffer from speech anxiety (Brain, 2016) . This is a sad statistic being that communication is the backbone of our society. It is what allows us to connect with others. Without communication skills, we would not be able to form relationships, whether in our personal or professional lives. We, as a society, tend to think that communication is only verbal. However, communication includes nonverbal, written, even listening, as well as our body language. In fact, over 70% of our communication is nonverbal. In this class I hope to improve on my interpersonal communication by learning ways to overcome my fear and setting new standards in the way I communicate with others. In my personal life, improper communication has led to more than one situation that caused hurt to someone I love. Likewise, I have been on the receiving end of hurt directly as a result of poor communication. Currently, if I were to rank my comfortability in speaking in front of the class, I would say it would be a 4 out of 10. I know many people would think it would be higher, but the fact of the matter is I have an anxiety when it comes to public speaking. Being an extroverted personality often leads people to believe I would have no problem speaking in public, but when the spotlight is on, it is an entirely different story. The moment I know I must get up in front of a group of people, I start to feel dread, my stomach goes into knots, my heart starts to race, and my palms get clammy. I always try to be the first speaker so that these feelings of dread can disappear sooner than later. Ironically, after I finish speaking (assuming it went well) I feel a sense of accomplishment. There is a remarkable sense of pride that comes with effectively communicating to your peers and being well received. My hope is that by taking this Communication 100, I will find new ways to effectively communicate, which will not only help me grow as a person, but will further my success in the competitive job market. • 8. Persuasive Essay On Bus Safety The school bus safety in this time has gotten better and worse, but the one thing you don t see in school buses too often are the seatbelts. I believe that seat belts are needed in buses. The first patented seat belt was created by American Edward J. Claghorn on February 10, 1885 in order to keep tourists safe in taxis in New York City. This idea slowly became more popular in the manufacturing of other vehicles. Competing drivers were the first to be required to wear a seat belt. The real breakthrough with modern seat belts came in 1958 when Swedish engineer Nils Bohlin was hired by Volvo and he designed the seat belts we know today through a three point seat belt that better protects the driver and passenger in an accident. The three point design was created to help secure both the upper and lower body in an accident. Since 1966, vehicles in America were required to have seat belts in their cars. By 1975, most first world countries had a seat belt requirement in their cars. Once the three point seat belt became more common in cars, laws soon followed afterwards. By 1970, the world s first seat belt law was created in Victoria, Australia, which required passengers to wear their seat belts at all times. In the U.S., seat belt laws came around the time of the creation of The National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act of 1966. From 2006 to 2015, there were nationally 301 school aged children who died in school transportation related crashes: 54 were killed by school

By utilizing their history, Mercedes set themselves apart from other automobile makers as always remaining the first. Continuing forward with their first theme, on their website they also mention how Bertha Benz, Carl s wife, was the first female driver in history as
  • 10. Factors That Affect Soil Temperatures On Two Important Ways Mulches Mulches can influence soil temperatures in two important ways. The first way is through absorbing or reflecting incoming light. Dark mulches, such as solid black or woven plastic, absorb solar radiation and can transfer this energy to warm the soil below. Lighter mulches, such as white plastic or straw and hay mulches, reflect more light and do not warm soil temperatures as much. Under warm summer conditions lighter mulches can be a benefit because they may keep soil temperatures lower and less variable, which can be an advantage to plants. The second way that mulches alter soil temperatures is by reducing heat loss. Heat can be lost from soil through the evaporation of water or when air temperatures are lower than soil temperatures (such as at night). Mulches, both plastic and natural, can retain heat by reducing both of these losses. Using mulches can also require attention to watering because irrigation is needed when impermeable plastic mulches are used. Natural mulches must also be carefully chosen to avoid the potential for introduction of weed seeds or herbicides (for more information on these topics, see W 346D: The TN vegetable garden: Plant management practices). Floating row covers Also known as direct covers, floating row covers are usually nonwoven plastic films or agricultural fabrics that can be applied directly over crops. These covers can be installed in large sections that cover many rows in the garden. The edges are usually secured with soil,

Structural Possible Via Secondary Reinforcement Techniques CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION 1.1General: Concrete, as a result of its many desirable properties makes and moulds itself to a variety of innovative designs. It can be cast in diverse shapes and with its several advantages such as high compressive strength, low thermal and electrical conductivity low combustibility and toxicity is considered to be a very attractive building material. However some deficiencies of the conventional cement concrete such as brittleness, poor tensile strength; poor impact strength etc. resulting cracks and hence becoming unsuitable for certain applications. Major research in this field identified crack free concrete structural possible via secondary reinforcement techniques. Deficiencies encountered with conventional concrete can be overcome by the addition of fibres to cement concrete, which improves the crack resistance, fracture toughness, resistance to impact and shock etc. The micro cracks and interfacial discontinuities are the causes of unstable crack propagation and low tensile strength of conventional concrete. The addition of fibres to concrete would alter the crack propagation and makes it more controlled and slow, which leads to reduction crack propagation and improved tensile strength. Mostly researchers have used galvanized iron as fibre to study the effect of fibre on compressive strength and other properties of fibre reinforced concrete. Galvanized iron has high density; and this increases density of concrete as well as dead load of

  • 14. The Prince And Niccolo Machiavelli s The Republic The Republic is a Socratic dialogue written by Plato that is widely considered to be one of the most influential and well known works in philosophy and political theory. The Republic is largely focused on defining and explaining the concept of justice through both a individual man and through the perfectly just city. This ideal city is known as the Republicand throughout the work, there is much debate and discussion over how the city should function and be run to create this perfectly just environment. Throughout the dialogue, it is acknowledged that the republic is an imagined city that doesn t exist anywhere on earth . (Glaucon 274) Along with The Republic there have been many other philosophic texts that attempt to create the model society or leader. In contrast to this style, The Prince written by Niccolo Machiavelli is centered around how to maintain or take control of a kingdom and it describes politics as he believes it exists in reality and not in one s imagination. The Prince is well known for being a kind of counter to Platos Republic. The most notable and obvious clash between the two writing can be found in Machiavelli s criticisms of what he refers to as imagined republics . One can be certain that Plato would have responded to Machiavelli s criticisms in a brilliant show of wit, however Plato died in 347 B.C. and The Prince was not published until 1532. For one to determine the manner in which Plato may have responded, one must first identify and
  • 15. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Cultural Shock Essay Whether you are deciding to travel around the world or living abroad in another country, you have to bear in mind that cultural shock is an unpleasant experience you must go through. It does not matter if you are visiting a country just for one week or a month, cultural shock is both an inner and external process a person has to go through when he or she is placed in a totally different culture. From greeting people, to food or local customs, all those differences might lead to frustrate your expectations of living abroad. However, another reason for culture shock being inevitable might be the fact that, at the end, it is an enriching and beneficial experience of learning. Living abroad not only is a joyful experience but also a challenging one. Whenever you are living in other country, you are presented with many challenges and new situations you never thought of. For example, in the article, The Other Cheek by Charlie O Malley, he tells how hard it was for him to adapt to Argentines way of greeting people: It s every foreigner s nightmare to walk into a crowded room full of Argentines and have to kiss and greet every one of them. Despite the fact that he felt uncomfortable doing it, and that he was struggling with this daily life action, he finally learned something, he learned how to greet in other culture. Having this example in mind might raise awareness in those who think that cultural shock can be avoided. Just as it was stated at the beginning, cultural shock is just as another experience in life where we learn new skills and abilities. In addition, this example is just a bit of what you can learn by living abroad in other country, for you can also learn other cultures insight, traditions, and customs, among tons of other things. So, avoiding cultural shock is not a choice, and neither beneficial for those who decide to live abroad. People have to bear in mind the first stages consequences and hope that, at the end, they will learn something

The book focuses on the difficulties that come along with living in Appalachia, and the family issues that go on as well. Living in poverty introduced Vance to a world filled with toxicity and violence. This unhealthy environment caused Vance to develop a conflict within himself, making him struggle with his self identity. The conflict between Vance s mother and the men was also not healthy for the children, Vance writes, When I heard [his mom] screaming at [one of the men], or weeping on the floor after an especially intense argument...I felt guilty that she was going through this for my sake (89). Although, the issues within the household were not related to Vance, he still took on responsibility for his Mother s unhappiness. With the constant change of men in Vance s life, came additional siblings to his already complicated family tree. For a young child, the explanation of how many siblings he had was often confusing and frustrating to explain. Without the ability to quickly summarize his family ties, Vance became weary of the question and wanted to avoid it at all costs. Being unable to confidently have an answer to how many siblings he had, Vance was once again put into a toxic situation. The lack of stability and real relationships with the people who were technically family to Vance, left him feeling disconnected, Vance writes,

In Ovid s Metamorphoses, Ovid illustrates the battle between Achillesand Cycnus, who is the son of Neptune. In both battles, the outcome is the same both warriors are slain by Achilles. While both stories have the same ending with Achilles coming out victorious, they both paint very different stories of Achilles. In one, they describe Achilles almost as human, seeking revenge with no remorse. In the other, they show Achilles as pure rage, blinded by his own fury. By comparing both of the battle stories, one can tell the differences both Homer and Ovid try to express. In Homer s Illiad, Book 22, the story starts with the god Apollo tricking Achilles, and making him run away from the battle in order to save the city Troy. After Achilles figures this out, he makes way to complete his task at hand. The dots and dashes that were found were found in a grouping pattern. This form of tattoo is believed to only belong to women, and usually the women were associated with ritualistic practice. The Egyptians had spread the practice of tattooing throughout the word. By the year 2000 BC, the art of tattooing had stretched out all the way to Southeast Asia (Taylor, 1998). Although there is history that proves tattoos were used for many reasons, some people still fell into groups that are considered stereotypes. The stereotypes of people with tattoos were considered to be criminals, drug addicts, or habitual underachievers. There is somewhat of a statistical truth to that slander. Sadly when it came to people who had chosen to show their tattoos in public, the stereotype is all too real. That is no surprise though; people with tattoos are treated poorly by the majority. Traditionally, tattoo clientele was considered to be that of bikers, bad boy personalities, and truckers; however all that seems to be changing. There is still the tough guy image to contend with. The information available to the employees can commit various types of criminal acts from fraud, to insider trading, to breaking international laws. There can also be issues with disgruntled employees, potentially if the employee is only contracted or temporary. It is a common practice in large companies, especially international companies, to outsource and contract work. This can create issues with personnel if a contract is ended in an unexpected way. There is also an inherent temptation with the information available, especially considering various white collar crimes. d)Organizational responseAn organizational response would be to create policies to deter internal attacks, which can be done in multiple ways. The first method would require creating a training program to educate employees and discourage such behavior. The second would be to create procedures outlining their different levels of access that employees can have depending on their job

Grassland Soil Erosion Of Grasslands Environmental Science Professor Delia Comeau Case Study: Grassland Soil Erosion Overgrazing of grasslands is an issue occurring in many areas around the nation. In fact, it is the leading cause of all soil degradation, being responsible for more than 30 percent (Withgott Lapostata, 2014, p. 222). Overgrazing has many consequences: land degradation; poor soilquality; invasive species of weeds and plants; 1loss in biodiversity; increased flooding prevalence and increased magnitude; even a possible contribution to climate change (Withgott Lapostata, 2014, p. 229; Hogan, 2010). When faced with 500,000 acres of public land that are enduring these issues, many steps need to be taken in order to determine the future of the land and if grazing will be allowed to continue. One of the main ways of helping determine the future use of the land is in the soil quality. By observing the soil color, pH, texture, and structure, the proper means of restoration and conservation can be better determined. There are many aspects soil that can be observed and measured in order to determine the quality of the lands condition. At last, I am also going to talk about what I think that I learned is important lesson in this semester. First of all, the things that were working well is about our different roles. We have five people in our group and two girls with three boys. For example, three boys are the Maintenance roles to help the group run smoothly (99). To be more specific, they are always talking to each other to check when we have any group works due. They also mentioned to us if there was any individual homework due. Macbeth had his and many others lives destroyed after gaining more power, and it was mostly his fear of losing power that corrupted him. He ultimately could have changed the outcome of his story, but his demise was fate set in place by three witches. In the path of Macbeth coming to power, and his need to remain in power, lie the bodies of his former King Duncan, the chamberlains, Banquo, Macduff s wife and children, Macbeth s own wife, and Macbeth himself. All hail Macbeth, thane of Cawdor! All hail Macbeth, thou shalt be king hereafter! The first part of the prophecy, Macbeth becoming Thane, happens shortly after without any of the witches doings. But the second part of the prophecy happens because the withes told Macbeth it would happen, which started the series of events eventually making all the prophecies come true. Because the witches told Macbeth he would become king, Lady Macbeth thought the fastest way for Macbeth to become king would be to kill Duncan. That wouldn t have happened if Lady Macbeth hadn t been told it was a prophecy for her husband to become king. It could argued that it was avoidable for all the corruptive events to take place had some of the characters acted differently. But because of the personalities of the characters, and the witches part in setting the events in motion, the actions of the characters and their consequences were

Henry VIII And Louis XIV Essay Henry VIII and Louis XIV Henry VIII and Louis XIV were both men whose accomplishments on a national level for their respective countries of England and France were great, but whose very different personal problems gave them a negative impression in history. The two leaders had very different ruling styles, but with a few similar themes throughout. Perhaps the best thing to look at first is their very different attitudes toward God and GodВ№s power in monarchy and state. One of HenryВ№s chief advisors is immortalized in ShakespeareВ№s ВіThe Life and Times of Kind Henry VIIIВІ. Cardinal Wolsey is spoken of there as Віa man such as history had never yet laid their eyes upon, a man who could have others get his own will enforcedВІ (Shakespeare 78). Wolsey spent little time at the British court, but the time he spent was valuable. He served as chief advisor to a young, newly crowned, and impressionable King Henry. He formed HenryВ№s ideas about government, spoke for the monarch in assembly, and reputedly taught Henry everything he knew about economics from an early age. Two other advisors are also known to history as serving in HenryВ№s later life, Thomas Cromwell and Thomas More. Likewise, Louis XIV, in a mark of true genius, was wise enough to appoint someone wiser than himself to run the government. He had many, and oddly, most of their names have been erased from history. • 32. Analysis Of Lou Kline In A Visit From The Goon Squad In a novel that jumps between periods of time and interchanges multiple characters, Lou Kline is one of the only consistent elements throughout the entirety of A Visit From the Goon Squad by Jennifer Egan. Lou is first portrayed hostily as a abhorrent, egocentric man who fears growing older. In the next chapter, the reader s perception of Lou is altered from a sleazy man to a more paternal figure, and the reader understands that while Lou has done despicable things, he is not completely immoral. Altered again, the final image of Lou is that of pity as a dying man, his failures are recounted and he is therefore at his most vulnerable. Egan s non linear structure of the novel allows the reader to see multiple sides of Lou Kline through different character perspectives, and in the end amplify the merciless effect time has on a destructive urge to remain youthful and assert dominance to win at everything. Lou s youth is characterized by in the moment actions, an abundance of girls, and reckless living. Afraid of aging, he spends his whole life in this state of mind. Even on his deathbed he invites Rhea and Jocelyn, young girls from his past, to visit him in order to experience a final youthful atmosphere. The narrator, Rhea, describes Lou as having a surfer s face, connoting perceived inward youth while people looking at him would see his face had gone a little draggy under the eyes (Egan 60). He shows many signs of childishness and carelessness when he ignore[s] the rule to stay seated while the jeep is moving and again when he sees lions and proceeds to climb out of his seat with the others and they jam their upper upper halves through the open roof (Egan 66). This carelessness shows a lack of a sense of responsibility as not only an adult but also a father, as evidenced in his lack of care for Rolph s true personality and his passive aggressive attitude to Charlie as she defies him. When Charlie giggles and Lou asks her what s so funny, he mocks her answer: Life! Lou snorts. How old are you? Ironically this response is so childish that it makes the reader question the mental age of Lou himself. While Lou does show a more maternal side in this chapter, it is overtaken by his

An alternative solution is that one company decided to create a program to both allow mothers time with their child while at the same time being able to advance in their careers. Inkwell implemented a program where mothers would work almost as if part time and still have paid leave. They would spend about 20 hours in the work week working and the rest of the time they would spend raising their newborn. Not only does this help the woman s career keep moving, but it also helps her spend time properly caring for her child. The program allows for flexibility in their schedules so they can focus on both work and family, without putting one in front of the other. While this is progress for the issue, it only pertains to the one company. The rest of America needs to get on board. Some of the advantages to Inkwell s solution include the family is being supported financially, the mother can continue improving in her career, stress is taken off of the mother because of the flexible schedule, and the company doesn t completely lose a worker. The disadvantages of Inkwell s solution include that while the mothers are still working part time, the employer would still need to hire and pay new employees to fill the spots while the mothers aren t working. Another alternative solution was developed when Marisa Torrieri wrote a Forbes article about how unpaid maternity leave could work, if the mother takes some things into consideration. Since money is one of the main things that mothers are worried about by taking a leave, Torrieri highlights ways to ensure the money doesn t become a problem. The first thing a mother can do is take extra work at their job before the baby comes so they can be financially sound during the leave. She also states that some employers may be willing to give an employee paid leave, but most mothers are reluctant to ask. She mentions practicing saving

Each division has completely different experiences in life, especially when it comes to school. Children with prelingual hard of hearing are going to be at a severe disadvantage when it comes to learning because they don t have that basis of the English language. It will be harder for children to learn to read because they don t know how to pronounce that word or how it sounds. Most hard of hearing students can lipread pretty well, but the staggering statistic of only thirty to forty percent of the English language can be read solely on lips is absolutely unfathomable (Student Disability Services, 2017). This all depends on how extensive the hearing loss is with each child. As most could predict, children with post lingual hearing loss will have a similar experience to those with prelingual, however they should mostly have a good basis of the spoken word. In Shouting Won t Help by Katherine Bouton, she tells her story of her struggles in society and with her personal life as a person with hard of hearing. Bouton has post lingual hard of hearing because she lost her hearing when she was thirty years old, way after she had learned the spoken English language. She doesn t have much trouble with reading and writing, but reading lips is always harder because only about forty percent of sounds can be read on lips (Bouton, 2014). Last, but not least, is presbycusis hard of hearing. An example of this type of hearing loss comes from the book Odyssey of Hearing Loss: Tales of Triumph by Michael Harvey. In chapter six, Norma is an elderly lady that refuses to wear her hearing aids, so her children bring her to therapy because they believe she s in denial. Norma has experienced her hearing loss so late in life that these hearing aids and the fact that she doesn t function quite like she used to, is a scary situation she isn t read to wrap her head around (Harvey, 1998). Causes Of Water Scarcity In China Water scarcity in China Huy Nguyen 8M Introduction: Many of cities in China are water stressed, with millions of Chinese in rural and urban areas lacking clean, accessible water which is suppressing the growth of the Chinese economy and general health. China s water problems are mainly caused by the wet and dry spatial distribution between Southern and Northern China respectively, as well as wasteful usage of water and under education in aqueous usage. However, this problem is being confronted with by NGO Lien Aid which has helped build pipelines and taps for poorer areas of China. Spatial Distribution China s main food source, rice, is largely grown in Northern China, however, many of China s water supplies are located in the South with two of China s largest rivers, the Yangtze and Huang He located there meaning there is insufficient water for crop in Northern China. Due to Northern China being poorer, it has had to grow and export crop which requires water, to the rich, wet South. With many provinces in Northern China such as Hebei and Xinjiang exporting a large amount of water in crop despite having to dig 200m to find usable water, this means that the already poor provinces which are unable to fix its water crisis have to also export much of its clean water in crops to supplement income. They may also have to submit to taking second place to a family member. The child is helpless in all of this and the child s only way to vent fury and anger is in the form of extravagant fantasies. These fantasies are often brutal, criminal, and destructive in nature. The child s inability to understand these destructive forces makes them equally fearful of adults. Horney goes on to explain the later childhood side of relationship fears. A little girl who represses her wish, due to a guilty conscience, would grow up projecting that wish on every male. Often she will shy away from accepting or demanding anything from her husband. This can leads her into a depressed state under which she will shift the responsibility of helplessness onto the man. Under the guise of being helpless, she thus dominates her man. In the middle of Horney s paper she gets into the traits of male psychology. She gives many examples of how men hold women in high esteem, but writes that they have a secret distrust of women. One of Horney s best examples would have to be the story of Adam and Eve. The story devalues women s ability to give birth, and makes them seem to be sexual temptresses. It is the sexually attractive female that man is afraid of. Women are considered to be deeply rooted in their emotions. This is often men s excuse for
