Comparing Kant, Liberal Legacies And Foreign Affairs
In Kant, Liberal Legacies, and Foreign Affairs, Doyle attempts to disprove the Realist political
system while advocating for the Liberal political system using second opinions and various forms
of evidence. Doyle creates a strong case for the adoption of liberal democracies within states
because, as he explains, promotes peace between them. He discusses the fact that states who adopt
a domestic liberal system hold the same key institutions and these create a pacifist effect among
liberal states. Throughout his paper, Doyle addresses a couple main items. The first being the fact
that liberal states do not go to war with other liberal states, and the second being the fact that despite
remaining peaceable with each other, liberal states have problems with many other non liberal
states. Throughout his paper, Doyle discusses the liberalismwill bring peace rule as if it is already
proven and true despite historical evidence, and can be used to predict an outcome for the future.
This type of discussion is for a law and not a hypothesis. Doyle also seems to claim that the
political nature of the individual state will solely determine its policies and actions. He discredits
the Realist point of view and does not dabble with the possibility that the anarchical system of the
world could contribute to states actions as well.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Topic of Management
Management is a term that was derived from the French word menager, meaning to use carefully,
and the Italian word maneggiare, meaning to handle, and was originally applied to horse training.
Contemporary management is an ongoing process by which managers create, direct and maintain
organizations through coordinated human effort to ensure that their organization s resources are
used appropriately to attain the highest level of performance and productivity. It is the fundamental
integrating process designed to achieve organized, purposeful and meaningful results. Management
is working with and through individuals or groups to accomplish organizational goals (Book, #). In
recent years, management has evolved from the manager being the sole governance of the
organization to a more team oriented approach (Book, #). An understanding of management can
help ensure continuity, promote good human relations and contribute to increased performance.
A manager is someone who coordinates, integrates and directs the work of other members. A
position as a manager requires a specific set of skills, including technical skill, human skill,
conceptual skill, political skill and leadership. As the head of an organization, leadership is a
responsibility that falls on the manager (Book, #). Leadership is the process of influencing the
behavior and attitudes of others to achieve intended outcomes and is the key to managerial success
(Ray, #).
A directive approach to management is a one person

SYSTEMATIC REVIEW OF HISTORICAL EPIDEMIOLOGICAL STUDY TRENDS IN
ESTABLISHING THE CAUSAL RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN HPV AND CERVICAL CANCER:
For centuries, the etiology of cancer of the cervix remained unknown and there were several
attempts by past scientists to establish the cause of cervical cancer without much success.
However, the earliest breakthroughs came in the 1930s while Dr Richard Shope of the
Rockefeller University was working on wild rabbits that had developed horn , which upon further
analysis, was caused by a virus that could be transmitted. This discovery played a crucial part in the
subsequent studies by Dr Zur Hausen (Cummings 2011).
According to Moghissi and Mack (1968), one of the earliest epidemiological studies to probe into
the relationship between sexual intercourse and cervical cancer involved prostitutes in a prison in
the U.S whose exceptional social peculiarities bordered on sexual intercourse with multiple
partners. This epidemiological study concluded by identifying early exposure to coitus and
multiple sexual partners as the primary etiologic bases for the development of cancer of the cervix.
In the classic research by Gagnon involving the study of 13,000 Canadian Nuns, he found no
single case of cervical cancer (cited in Fenoglio 1982). This was a significant finding in that it
concretized the association between sexual exposure and cancer of the cervix thereby paving the
way for further descriptive studies to investigate the relationship.

Civil Rights Movement And The Women s Liberation Movement
Liberation Movement of Women
In modern day, many fail to realize we were not always equal as a nation. In the past, women were
treated much differently. They were viewed as inferior to men and were denied many rights that we
have now. Women struggled to achieve their civil rights.
On Election day in 1920, millions of American women voted for the very first time. On August 26,
1920, the 19th Amendment was passed. Women suffrage caught the nation attention first in July
1848 at Seneca Falls, New York. More than 300 women gathered to commence the women s
suffrage movement. This movement was led by Elizabeth Cady Stanton, the convention
implemented a Declaration of Sentiments which stated in what the American society degraded

Kennedy later gave an administrative command to establish the President s Commission on the
Status of Women. Former first Lady Eleanor Roosevelt became the head of the commission. The
commission pushed Congress to confront the ongoing sex discrimination within the country.
Congress proceeded to pass the Equal Pay Act of 1963. Although the bill was a great first step for
equality, not all women were paid equally as men. The next year, Title VII of the Civil Rights was
passed. This became a huge triumph for women and anyone who was being discriminated against.
To uphold equal civil rights, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) was also
created. The purpose of the EEOC was to investigate any type of discrimination in work
environment areas and to enforce equal employment. The mid 19th century was the beginning of
the civil rights. After gaining the right to vote, reproductive rights, and equal rights, women have
accomplished many obstacles in society. Throughout history, women have fought for equality

Where/what is the research site? The site for this study will be a local high school with both
female and male learners with Special Education Needs (SEN) and learning disability. The
research will target or focus on one of the schools with a high number of disabled students to
ensure the statistics taken are more conclusive for the study. Together with the school
administration, 9 12th grade teachers, students, and counselors we will attempt to come up with
the best and efficient mode of conducting the research. Addressing the issue of young people with
disabilities requires the inclusion of a larger audience such as the students, teachers, and
administrators (Supports Center, 2004). According to Milsom, counselor s assigned the role of
preparing students for the job and life outside school has failed to adequately present the disabled
students with skills to cope with life after school (2002). The research records the type of
instruction and skills taught to the students, looking for the relation of the information and survival
in the outside world. The study will collect data by asking the students questions related to survival
outside the school and rate students according to the level of preparedness. Through such
information, the research can offer a clear understanding of the issue to be discussed as well as the
culture in the schools today concerning their ability to prepare learners for employment

Summary Of A Wall Of Fire Rising
Life can be a beautiful thing, or in this case of the short story A Wall of Fire Rising, by Edwidge
Danticat, life is an unpleasant thing. One of the main characters, Guy, is struggling to enjoy his
life due to living as a low economy family in the post colonial Haitian era. Such a life can cause
one to become crazy when seeing an opportunity to escape, but continuously being unable to
reach it. Being out of reach of his escape plan and left with no other option, Guy, places little
value in life and continuously thinks about hope for a better life. His aggressive characteristic
traits are not an expression of a strange personality, but rather a reaction to feeling broken.
Trapped by his economic status, Guy is out of reach of any opportunities to better his family s
life. Because of this, he learned to accept that being a permanent worker at the sugar mill would
never happen. Growing older, he knows he wants better for his son s life, but must keep up with
the normal life his family belongs to. Many years ago, it was determined that the men of a
specific decent were the only ones allowed to work at the mill. The Haitians of Lebanese, the
sugar mill owners, were the workers because they had been in the country for generations. As the
narrator explains, The jobs at the sugar mill were few and far between. The people who had
them never left, or when they did they would pass the job on to another family member who was
already waiting on line (Danticat 97 99). Since Guy was viewed as a lower class to the
community, he worried about his son s future, but his wife tried to overlook the thought of her
son living like Guy. Multiple times, Guy tried to tell his wife about his escape plan to a better
life, but she blew it off each and every time. Due to the setting being post colonial, Guy never
experienced a great life. After his multiple walks to watch the state sponsored news with his wife
and son, he continuously notices a hot air balloon. The community knew the balloon belonged to
the Assad family; however, after leaving it on the grass by the mill it seemed to become Guy s
center of attention. The narrator explains, For the last few weeks, ... Guy was lost each time he
reached this point, twelve feet away

Cloning Individualism
Results May Vary: Adam Phillips s Theory of Cloning and The Paradoxical Apotheosis of
Individualism Adam Phillips s essay Sameness Is All takes the form of a dialogue with two
children to introduce the fantasy of cloning in which everyone is identical. Specifically, Phillips
observes that cloning is a denial of difference and dependence which leads to a refusal of need
(92). However, Phillip remains mindful that such fantasy of physical or psychological sameness is
implausible as everyone is different even clones. One then questions the significance of such
wanting of sameness, or if the sense of sameness serves any purpose. Using the concept of Selfand

where both the Self and Other are dependent on each other for continued existence, and elucidates
the reader on the interdependency of the Self and Other.
After highlighting the interdependency of the Self and Other, Finkelstein uses this association
between Self and Other to delineate the adverse consequences of this symbiotic relationship. By
identifying the halo effect as a source of social pressure to conform, Finkelstein allows the reader
to see Phillip s theory of cloning as a feasible solution to the inherent issues of social injustice and
despair in this concept:
DeJong and Kleck (1986:66) maintain that...the overweight not only do not have an acceptable

explains why attractive people are gratuitously assigned other valued attributes, can be seen to work

socially desirable personality traits on the basis of desirable physical attributes, and thus
gratuitously assigned other valued attributes. Conversely, an unattractive individual will be
perceived as having socially

Subliminal and direct messages of gender role stereotyping can be found in advertisements for
children s toys, television cartoons, foods, and many other items that are marketed towards young

Restaurant has a new Happy Meal commercial that runs often on television. Actually, it is a set of

and using intelligent math language and the little girl is worried about her pretty smile. However,
the product in the two commercials are the same but the portrayals of the children in the
commercials are vastly different. The commercials are examples of the types of gender role
stereotyping that occurs often in advertisement. Advertisements that push gender role stereotypes
on young children should be banned from television. Television advertisement are among the
leading ways children are exposed to stereotypes that causes misguided concepts and ideologies
associated with sex or gender. Martin Eistend (2010) conducted a meta analysis study which stated

Variable annuities(VAs) are popular life insurance products in the insurance industry. VAs are long

Guaranteed Minimum Living Benefit (GMLB). There are three types of benefits in GMLB:
Guaranteed Minimum Accumulation Benefit (GMAB), Guaranteed Minimum Income Benefit

policyholders the chance of renewing account value at maturity when the investment performance
is bad. Guaranteed Minimum Income Benefit also provides a guaranteed account value at maturity,

America And The United Kingdom Essay
Stop leaving all this food. Don t you know that there are kids in Africa who are starving? This is
a common guilt trip of parents in First World countries to children who will not eat their dinner,
and so most in America and the United Kingdom are confronted with the reality of starving
countries early in life. The reminder to be thankful is usually common in households of all
socioeconomic statuses, and so the reality of poverty is often challenged even in households who
do not experience it head on, although they experience it indirectly. The cry of many church
bodies, charities, and political parties is for aidto and economic justice for the poor who are are
systematically disadvantaged. In summation, an individual who has grown up in First World
countries are, no matter the socioeconomic status, aware that world hunger, poverty, economic
justice, and individual responsibility are major and dire issues that affect the majority of the world

Titanic Essay
Titanic Essay
Many people across the world watch films. It is so popular because it puts a story on the screen and
into life so that people can see it.
People watch films for the entertainment value, or are simply too lazy to read and enjoy the magic
of a book.
The advantages of watching a film at the cinema rather than on video is the bigger screen, and the
surround sound, also the atmosphere. This all adds up and creates a bigger impact than a video.
People make films to tell a story or get a message across, such as Pearl Harbour, which tells us the

An example of this on Titanic is when they go from the back of the boat to the front.
They also use Sound Effect to make what is happening sound more real, such as an explosion or
band. They also use backing tracks, which can be used to emphasise the emotion a character is
feeling. For example, if it was sad, they might use a love song.
They use costume to show you what time something was set it, or the class of the people,
particularly shown in Titanic, as Jack is very poor and Rose is rich. The characters who wear the
costumes are also very important. They have to look the part and sound the part, not just be able to
read the lines. They have to act the way a person of that time would.

Trouillot s Silencing The Past
The French general Napoleon Bonaparte said once that History is the version of past events that
people have decided to agree upon. Whether this is for better or worse, what can be agreed is that
this has been done by many groups of people. These groups are forced to redefine their history
against historical progress, especially nations, as this poses a threat to the survival of a nation and
the unity of its people. Historical progress, an inevitable phenomenon that occurs as people move
forward and discover more about their past, has the potential to make citizens question the actions
of their nation and their nationality. Because of the substantial threat that historical progress poses,
many leaders try to safeguard their nations by adjusting history. Some of the best examples of this
have occurred in African nations, and have... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

rewriting history does not just make an impact on the leader and their legacy. It also makes an
impact on national history, and, therefore, on the power of the nation as an idea. By refocusing
national history, it gives citizens the memories they should have (in the eyes of those in power) to

Behavioral Finance By Daniel Kahneman And Amol Tversky
1.8. BEHAVIORAL FINANCE
The whole concept of Behavioural Finance was introduced by Daniel Kahneman and Amol
Tversky in late 1960s. They are called as the father of Behavioural Finance. Their observation
began to kick off a whole range of discoveries, with ramifications that investors cannot afford to
ignore. Later, Tversky and Kahneman began to uncover previously searched series of behavioural
bias that causes investors to act irrationally. In 2002, Daniel Kahneman received the Noble
Memorial Prize for his contribution to the study of rationality in economics. Understanding
Behavioural Finance and how it affects the markets is the key to a successful investment strategy.
Behavioral Finance is the new emerging science that explains the irrational behaviour of investors.

Heathcliff Addiction
Within Emily Bronte s Wuthering Heights, the theme of love as an addiction is
consistently weaved throughout the pages of the novel. It is seen in many characters, but
Heathcliff is the most clear example of this theme. His entire life and all of the decisions that he

There are many ways in which readers can see that Heathcliff s love is an addiction, rather than a
normal love story.
Addiction generally begins when a person is looking to fill a void within their life. Heathcliff grew

Girlfight Overcoming Gender Stereotypes
It goes without saying that a person s gender, racial and social origins influence their participation
in sports. Particular races and genders often dominate certain sports. African Americans, for
example, tend to dominate football and basketball, while Caucasians tend to dominate ice hockey.
The same holds true for gender as well. Football is an entirely male dominated sport, while
horseback riding, gymnastics and figure skating are much more female oriented. How and why did
these divisions come about? Determining the origin of gender goes beyond the scope of this paper,
however one can speculate about how gender classifications and stereotypes affect one s role in the

Tiny is not just a clever name, he has a small build, is academically inclined and hopes to pursue
art. He has no interest whatsoever in learning boxing. Diana, on the other hand, has a large, sturdy
build, and a hot temper. It is Diana that defends her brother when another boxer takes advantage of
him in the ring.
Diana s relationship with Adrian is another form of tension between gender stereotypes in the film.
Boxing is traditionally a sport where men prove their manhood. They prove that they are
categorically the alpha male by defeating their opponents. Therefore, to have a woman, who should
traditionally be submissive and dutiful, step up to the ring turns everything that boxing stands for
upside down. Much of the movie centers on the conflicts that develop within their relationship
because of this paradox. At first it seems that Adrian is completely open to Diana s boxing.
However his true beliefs are challenged when he and Diana are forces to fight one another. Adrian
has to struggle with his own definitions of masculinity and femininity before he can come to terms
not only with Diana s boxing him, but also beating him.
In effect, Diana defies everything that is traditionally identified as male and female. In the end it is
not clear what happens to Diana; whether her relationship with Adrian is successful or whether her
father can finally accept Diana s boxing. However one still comes away from the movie feeling
that she has accomplished

Rating Othello
Rating Othello
Is this Shakespearean tragedy Othello at the top of the rating chart, or is it just near the top? And
why? This essay intends to examine various aspects of this subject, along with critical opinion.
This play ranks near the top. The Bard s presentation of emotions, character, of good and evil
actions that are down to earth these are sometimes seen as the main reasons for the high ranking of
Othello. Louis B. Wright and Virginia A. LaMar in The Engaging Qualities of Othello maintain that
the popularity of this play has been consistent for about 400 years because
it treats emotions that are universal and persistent in human nature. Its characters do not exist on a

Such human wisdom can be found in Iago s initial words to sleepy Brabantio: Zounds, sir, y are
robbed! For shame, put on your gown! / Your heart is burst; you have lost half your soul. Indeed,
the disappearance of Desdemona from home would seem as such to an elderly father. Human
wisdom is obvious again and again; for example, when the senator escorts the general to the
council, the duke addresses the valiant Othello without even noticing the senator at first: I did not
see you. Welcome, gentle signior. As Othello begins his address before council, he employs much
wisdom in the first two verses: Most potent, grave, and reverend signiors, / My very noble, and
approved good masters, by being as complimentary as possible, it would seem.
Shakespeare s human wisdom no doubt comes partially from his understanding of the workings of
man s mind. He possesses the ability to analyze in a psychological manner. Harry Levin s General
Introduction to The Riverside Shakespeare includes these comments regarding the psychological
aspect of Shakespeare s characters:
During the later eighteenth and most of the nineteenth century, Shakespeare s interpreters
practiced what Bernard Shaw liked to call Bardolatry. They all but deified the Bard of Avon
because he was the creator of so many characters who could be treated as if they were human
beings could be identified with, psychologized over [my

The Effectiveness of Home Schooling
I.Introduction
According to the National Home Education Research Institute (NHERI), the number of
homeschoolers rose up to 300,000 in 1992 to an estimated 2 million in 2003. Homeschooling has
been around since 1960s, created by John Holt, a humanist. He believes that homeschooling is one
of the greatest educational movements of our time. Supporters love the idea of students being
homeschooled rather than being exposed to public schools because they believe that
homeschooling students will boost their test scores and help lessen their insecurities. However,
others believe homeschooling students lack the ability to socialize and interact with the community.

Even, significant figures such as Senator Rick Santorum and Rep. Marilyn Musgrave encouraged
the religious home schooling movement. They all helped overturn the law that banned
homeschooling, which is now legal in all 50 states.
III. Religious Purposes There are many motivating factors as to why people support
homeschooling. One reason for homeschooling students is to ensure their child s values are the
same as theirs. Homeschoolers are taught to think in a certain way and to believe certain things.
Many parents have chosen home schooling in an effort to encourage specific religious values,
and in some cases to avoid exposing their children to perceived cultural and irreligious precepts
and ideologies (Stevenson 3). Parents want to protect their children from subjection to ideas of
religious values. They want to raise their children in a safe, controlled environment. The vast
majority of individual homeschooling for religious reasons are doing so to teach their children
Christian values and principles. Although the home schooling population is far from homogenous,
it is fair to say that many parents who pull their children out of traditional schools do so because
they wish to protect them from exposure to ideas and influences that they feel are incompatible
with their own morals or religious values (Lee and McMahon 3). They want to remove secular
influences from their children s lives because they are concerned that other

Essay On Power In Heart Of Darkness
The Fear of Being Powerless The bitterest contradiction and the deadliest conflicts of the world
are carried on in every individual breast capable of feeling and passion (Raskin 116). It is possible
that those with the best intentions can create some of the deadliest atrocities as passion can take
control over one s emotions. This emotional instability can be seen in Heart of Darknessas Joseph
Conradillustrates how one s passion of saving others slowly turns into madness that causes
hundreds of fatalities. We wonder, what could cause a man, such as Kurtz, in Heart of Darkness, to
enter another country with the best intentions, to become so violent and be the reason behind
thousands of brutal and torturous killings without... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a result of this, Kurtz s biggest fear was being powerless to the natives, leading him to act in
inhumane ways as he did not want to become the inferior. This fear can be seen at the end when
Kurtz exclaims to exterminate all brutes since the natives were unable to change to what he
wanted, instead he was the one who became inferior. (Conrad 2009). The idea of the natives not
viewing him powerful enough to follow his orders enraged him so much he wanted them all
dead even while he was dying. This anger is expressed through why Conrad complex language
and syntax for example, exterminate rather just kill as it illustrates the hatred and frustration he
has towards the natives since he has now been a victim of his biggest fear. Conrad explains how
we naturally fear being powerless considering society has taught us that being powerless and
vulnerable will not keep us alive. Additionally, no matter what, we must stay true to ourselves and
values. This is exactly what Kurtz did, he wanted to maintain his unchecked power until he died,
but rather this being his individual decision, and it was a decision instilled in him that relates back
to Conrad s proposition that our family creates a sense power within us while we are young. We
are all given a rank of superiority through

The Possible Causes of Cleft Lip and Palate
Cleft lip and/or palate is a condition where the tissue of the lip did not completely close during
embryotic formation that affects 1 in 700 people born. Though not immediately fatal, the
disorder can cause complications with consuming and speech that could lead to more serious
problems. The only way to fix the gap is to surgically go in and sew the two sides of the lip
/palate together; this is a comparable easier and faster solution than other solutions out there for
different disorders. Many people who get the surgery recover fine, have slight physical
differences, and are able to succeed in society like anyone else (condition does not hinder mental
state or ability drastically). This condition has many different phenotypes that fall in two
categories, unilateral cleft and bilateral cleft (Dixon et al., 2011). In a unilateral cleft, only one
side of the palate or lip is affected (asymmetrical) while in a bilateral cleft, both sides are affected
usually in a symmetric pattern. Because of the large range of phenotypes, it is very difficult to
trace back to certain genes and factors and figure out how these factors together influence the
expression of the trait. Cleft lip and/or palate can be expressed by itself, called non syndromic, or
with other conditions including Kabuki syndrome, called syndromic (Dixon et al., 2011).
Depending on the type of disorder, this condition is caused by different chromosomes and mutations
on these chromosomes. For example, if it is indeed

Analysis Of The New York Times Article By Gary Allan Fine
The past should never be altered. The New York Times article by Gary Allan Fine is about the
National Collegiate Athletic Association (N.C.A.A.) changing history by taking away the Penn
State football victories from 1998 2011. History was changed by making the losers of these
football games the winners. In George Orwell s 1984, the past is always being changed or

correct for vacating Penn State s win and the novel 1984 relates to this because the past is always

Benefits Of A New Internship Program Essay
The second method we will utilize to promote our message will be through a variety of online
resources. We are aware that students have a strong online presence, and that they utilize the web
for everything, including internship searches. With that being said, we plan to increase our
presence on top tier universities recruiting websites. On these employment websites, we will
promote our internshipopportunities and let students know when we will be attending their campus.
Additionally, we plan to market our message on popular social media platforms like Facebook,
Twitter, and Instagram.
Developing the format of our new internship program was an important step, however, we feel that
promoting our new internship effectively is even more crucial. As we send our top recruiters to
our target universities and improve our presence on the web, we feel that we will be able to
promote our message and acquire premier talent.
Resources Needed to Implement the Rotational Program
In order to initiate our new rotational internship program properly, we will need a variety of
resources. First, we will need resources to acquire prospective interns and second we will need
resources to accommodate interns once they are hired. Both types of resources are essential in
order for our new internship program to function flawlessly.
We will need three resources to acquire prospective interns. First, we need a group of recruiters that

The Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System Essay
Methods One major method that will be used will be the statistics taken from the Behavioral
Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) provided by the NC department of health. Also, data
will be used for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Trust for America s Health study,
done for the year 2015. Both of these will give pertinent data on what factors may increase
obesity over the target population. While the method of this surveillance may use the BRFSS,
there can be many more other methods that can be used. In evaluating a financial project,
majority of the times the methods used during the evaluations will be quantitative, in order to
prove financial gain (Makarova Sokolva, 2014). The same quantitative method can also be used
in two different ways within this project. The first method used for quantitative reporting, would
be as the same as Makarova Sokolva mentioned, which would be using it as a financial indicator
of the overall success of the project (Makarova Sokolva, 2014). As stated earlier, obese
individuals spend about 1,429 dollars more on health care than a normal individual (Finkelstein,
Trodgdon, Cohen Dietz, 2009). If an analyst wanted to take this quantitative method, they would
use the amount of money saved per year, over the course of an individual s life, as a way to
show that the evaluation of a plan was successful. To further this, if the surveillance saw one
person stay below obese for 25 years, this would yield a total savings of around

Causes And Consequences Of Data Leakage
Data leakage involves loss of data which invariable leads to loss of knowledge. Knowledge is an
important asset for existence as it involves the seamless combination of experiences, specialist
insight, standards and plans (Ahmad, Bosua and Scheepers 2014). Thus data is indispensable
for development, preserve competitive edge and when it is lost can lead to several
consequences. Consequences of data leakage are considerably high since once data is lost it is
difficult to regain it back and consequences can last for a lifetime. Consequences of data leakage
can be classified as direct or indirect loss (Gordon 2007). Direct loss is easy to quantify and
measure such as fines (Phua 2009). However indirect loss is almost impossible to measure and
have wider implications like negative publicity (Shabtai, Yuval and Rokach 2012). This will
probably lead to loss of revenue and business edge. Indirect loss is one of the reasons for
unreported data leakage incidents (Symantec 2014). In 2012, 72% of organisations that
experience major data leakage incident closed within 24 months, 93% file for bankruptcy within
one year while 50% closed immediately (Gunnarsson 2014). Thus the consequences of data
leakage have serious implications as discussed in sub section 1.6. 1.6 IMPLICATION OF DATA
LOSS Implication of data leakage is varied as data have different meaning to different entities. The
use of computer systems to store clients sensitive data has raised concern due to

How Junk Food Can End Obesity By David Freedman
In his article How Junk Food Can End Obesity, first published in 2013, David Freedman interprets
how junk food can end obesity. Some people talk about junk food as one of the worst possible
substances to put inside the human body. The number of calories, carbohydrates, and sodium in
junk food products is massive, but healthfoodcan be just as bad. In David H. Freedman s article,
How Junk FoodCan End Obesity, he explains the many pros and cons to both junk food and health
food. Throughout the article, there are many uses of repetition, contrast, anomalies, and literary
devices that all work together to correlate Freedman s point. Even though Freedman states that junk
food could not end obesity, it is evident that Freedman believes... Show more content on

Freedman shares the experience he had in a health food eatery where he got an apple blueberry
kale carrot smoothie juice combination... at 300 calories (Freedman, 2013, p. 1). He later
mentions a delicious blueberry pomegranate smoothie that rang in at a relatively modest 220
calories that he got from a fast food eatery (Freedman, 2013, p. 2). The point Freedman was
attempting to illustrate was that just because an item is from a health food eatery does not
necessarily mean that it is healthier than basically the same product at a fast food eatery. Peter A.
Georgescu points out that science has developed healthful ways to create food that is just as
appetizing and satisfying as junk food (Georgescu, 2013, p. 2). Therefore, this becomes a
compromise where food is: cheaper, healthy, and scrumptious all in one. In his article, Freedman
seemingly relies upon a repetitive use of calories throughout this article to illustrate his point.
Another major point Freedman uses to support his opinion, is that even stores that sell precisely
wholesome foods are not always healthy. One snack he selected had six times as much fat as it does
protein, along with loads of carbohydrates (Freedman, 2013, p. 6). Freedman uses comments just
like the one stated previously throughout the article, as well as conflicting statements. The author,
further writes about the difference between a supermarket and a whole foods market. He asserts

Children Should Be Taught In Public Schools
An undeniable fact in our life is that some children are more intelligent or capable than their peers.
However, whether these children should be taught separately has long been a topic of debate.
If students with different abilities are put in the same class the first benefit is that they can learn
from each other and draw on other people s strengths. A mathematical genius may be poor in arts
or sports and this is what he can improve by interacting with his classmates. Also why we object to
separate teaching is that teachers tend to pay more attention to those with better academic results
which may give students in the slow class a sense of discrimination.

abilities. This mode enables students particularly those intelligent ones to fully develop their ...

and society. It was mainly in response to the industrial revolution which created urban cities
changing the way people lived and worked. Modern architecture began to experiment with more
modern concepts with buildings adoption more of a machine aesthetic by adding industrially
produced materials. The grand theater GroГџes Schauspielhaus utilizes the style of modernism to
create a building for the people incorporating new technologies to design a space befitting the
changing attitudes of early 20th century German society.
The building GroГџes Schauspielhaus was designed by Hans Poelzig, who had worked as an
architect, painter and set designer, in 1919 Berlin, Germany shortly after the first World War.
Poelzig s work was categorized as embracing the expressionist style, but his work was uniquely
original to anything seen before. Here is an example of an architect taking the role of a

A Rose For Emily Grierson s Life Essay
Being that I am an only child, I am very family oriented. When I was young, I lost my
grandfather to esophageal cancer. As a result, I shut everyone out of my life, so I would not get
close to anyone and have them taken away from me as well. The protagonist, Emily Grierson, in
the short story A Rose for Emily, has shut everyone out of her life due to the deathof her loved one,
just as I did. Crystal s essay, One for us... describes how Grierson s community would not accept
her private life, and they turn her personal life into a public conversation. According to Willow
D. Crystal, William Faulkner s A Rose for Emily suggests the relationship between private and
public can have an effect on one s life. I agree, but I would add that the power of death may lead
to insanity. I agree with Crystal s argument that Grierson s community shows no separation
between the private and public life regarding Emily Grierson s life. For example, as stated in One
for us... , Miss Emily s house begins to emit an unpleasant smell, the town officials decide to solve
the problem by dusting her property with lime (792). This intrusion reveals that the town s officials
have no respect for Grierson s personal life. To show that the officials respect her privacy, they
should have inquired about how they could assist with containing the odor, rather... Show more

Death surrounded the woman and as time passed death ultimately triumphs. According to Willow
D. Crystal, William Faulkner s, A Rose for Emily concludes that the relationship between private

surface if one is surrounded with too much death. Miss Emily wanted to remain private, but her
neighbors ignored that request. The woman was in denial of the passing of her father, so she
killed someone, so they can be close to her because her father was no longer with

Historically Black Colleges And University Research Paper
Abstract
This paper explores historically black colleges and universities and their impact on the economy.
Historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) are foundations of advanced education with
the expectation of serving the black community. In this paper various points are stated on how
important HBCUs are important to the black community and how it is a beneficial experience for
all races. It also discusses the effect, if any, that they have on the economy as a whole. HBCUs have
permitted African Americans to have a chance to obtain a secondary education with beneficial
subjects. They were made to give African Americans citizens rise to instructive opportunities.

Honeywell Thermostat
The first well established product that I chose was a Honeywell Thermostat for a consumer to the
temperature in their homes. This company has been selling thermostats since 1885, when they were
considered furnace regulators and alarms. I believe they are in the maturity stage of their product
life. They continue to keep up with the new technology advances and continue to produce
thermostats that seem to be the go to for most older consumers looking for a way to regulate the
temperaturein their homes.
The second recently released product that I chose was a Nest Thermostat. I believe they are still
in the growth stage of their product. They have been on the market since 2011, and have had a
few upgrades for technology along the way. They tend to be the go to for the younger generation
with the capabilities of Wi Fi and learning features that they have. As the consumers get older, I
believe that they will reach a maturity stage. Many of the older generations tend to lean on the
brands, such as Honeywell, that have proven themselves over time and seem to resemble what they
have become used to with some of the available technological advances. ... Show more content on

Honeywell, sticks to the more tired and true appearance of the thermostat while adding the
advances made over time. Nest has a completely different look than what consumers are used to
seeing hanging on their wall. I believe as time goes on, Nest is more appealing to the younger
generations and will become the normal as they get older and Nest will soon realize the tried and
true appearance and recognition that Honeywell experiences now. I do not believe that Nest can
win over the larger percentage of the older generation the way Honeywell can, but over time the
name will grow. I think they both do a great job at gearing their advertising to the appropriate target

Becoming A Welder Essay
Life is made of ever so many partings welded together. ( Brainy Quote.) This is a quote by
Charles Dickens in discussing how in life everything eventually comes together and works out.
The job of a welder involves many different skills. Welding involves applying heat to a metal
object, melting it and fusing the metal pieces to create a permanent bond. Becoming a welder is
a solid career choice that allows one to have a higher rate of pay, greater job security, and
outstanding career opportunity. One of the benefits of becoming a welder is higher rate of pay.
A union worker s income per week is around $970. A non union worker makes up to $763 per
week. 82% of union workers have paid sick leave. Different jobs give different pay. A worker s
range of skill controls the range of earnings. The more skilled one is with one s hands the better
chance they will have a greater pay. The better one is with hands, ready to take on challenges, and
is able to follow directions holds the chance to increase pay. Median hourly wage and salary

Causes and Effects of Drug Abuse
Many people do not understand why individuals become addicted to drugs or how drugs change
the brain to foster compulsive drug abuse. They mistakenly view drug abuse and addiction as
strictly a social problem and may characterize those who take drugs as morally weak. One very
common belief is that drug abusers should be able to just stop taking drugs if they are only willing
to change their behavior. What people often underestimate is the complexity of drug addictionthat it
is a disease that impacts the brain and because of that, stopping drug abuse is not simply a matter
of willpower. Through scientific advances we now know much more about how exactly drugs
work in the brain, and we also know that drug addictioncan be successfully... Show more content on

As a result, dopamine s impact on the reward circuit is lessened, reducing the abuser s ability to
enjoy the drugs and the things that previously brought pleasure. This decrease compels those
addicted to drugs to keep abusing drugs in order to attempt to bring their dopamine function back to
normal. And, they may now require larger amounts of the drug than they first did to achieve the
dopamine high an effect known as tolerance.Long term abuse causes changes in other brain
chemical systems and circuits as well. Glutamate is a neurotransmitter that influences the reward
circuit and the ability to learn. When the optimal concentration of glutamate is altered by drug
abuse, the brain attempts to compensate, which can impair cognitive function. Drugs of abuse
facilitate nonconscious (conditioned) learning, which leads the user to experience uncontrollable
cravings when they see a place or person they associate with the drug experience, even when the
drug itself is not available. Brain imaging studies of drug addicted individuals show changes in
areas of the brain that are critical to judgment, decisionmaking, learning and memory, and behavior
control. Together, these changes can drive an abuser to seek out and take drugs compulsively
despite adverse consequences in other words, to become addicted to drugs.

Understanding Long Term Conditions And Palliative Care
The purpose of this assignment is to demonstrate understanding of long term conditions and
palliative care. Nursing care in general entails holistic care and collaborative care of individuals
of all ages, families, groups and communities, whether sick or well (Royal College of Nursing,
(RCN) 2007). Better management of lifelong conditions has been the priority of the National
Health Service since the 1990s. When long term conditions are managed well in the community,
patients can live a quality life without visiting hospital frequently (RCN, 2011). In Britain, six in
ten people are reported to be suffering from long term conditions that currently cannot be cured;
and these people are often suffering from more than one condition that makes their care
challenging. It is estimated that by 2030 the UK will have double the number of people aged 85
years or over, who are living with one or more long term condition (Department of Health, 2014).
This essay discusses the core principles of long term conditions and management. Government
guidelines and standards are also discussed in relation to how these will impact the care of the
patients who are experiencing long term conditions. The reports, guidelines and plans that play an
important role in directing the current nursing system today, are discussed with regard to the
management of chronic conditions and lastly, palliative care and outcomes from the publication

Dr.Strangelove Film Analysis Essay example
Introduction
In 1964, Stanley Kubrick released Dr. Strangelove or: How I learned to stop worrying and love
the bomb to both critical and commercial praise. The historical context surrounding the film s
release was at the height of the Cold War, just over a year after the Cuban Missile Crisis as the
Vietnam War was beginning to escalate. While based on a more serious book, Red Alert by Peter
George, it was soon transformed into a black comedy that parodied the absurdity of global nuclear
destruction and the mentality of the Cold War. While not as overtly anti war as his third film Paths
of Glory, Kubrick still manages to show the ridiculousness of nuclear war while linking two basic
male instincts together, sex and the desire to kill. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ripper s paranoia about denying women his essence clarifies the connection between war and
sex. While Strangelove admits that women are essential to the survival of mankind, the
motivations of women are suspicious. Ripper s decision to attack Russia when he was
unprovoked is symbolic of his fear of being attacked. He has become paranoid that the same
infringement he performs on others might fall on him. The constant waiting creates a life of its
own within his mind and a sense of deep apprehension that the same people he has abused will
take their revenge. In his office, Ripper is usually shot in high contrast lighting. A lighting effect
that is shown largely in melodramas and tragedies to show, evil, fear and the unknown, all of
which the character embodies. The overbearing masculinity of most of the characters is balanced
by Mandrake and the Presidents, who are decidedly feminist when handling the conflicts and
attitudes about war. Mandrake plays a passive role when dealing with Ripper. He listens to
Rippers outrageous ideas, being careful not to upset him. He is also very reluctant to help fire
Rippers machine gun and tries desperately to convince him to recall the planes or hand over the
code. The President tries every possible diplomatic solution to quell the military problem. He speaks
to the Russian Premier in a feminist manner to try and avoid confrontation. His approach to the

Television Programs Can Support And Facilitate Language...
For many years, parents have relied on using educational programs to teach and engage their
children with new concepts and materials. Conversely, many children have also used television as
an opportunity for learning and language development. For example, the rise of television programs
like Elmo Street and Teletubbies demonstrates this upward trend of substituting media sources for
teaching and learning. However, despite the increasing support from parents toward television
programs, many researchers have mixed reviews on putting our children into viewing long hours
of what they considered unnecessary learning. Thus in what follows of this paper, I will focus on
explaining how television programs can support and facilitate language development. Moreover, I
will also discuss the mixed literacy support for using television as a learning tool and finally, I will
conduct a study that measures, specifically, the relationship between watching educational TV and
learning novel words. Hopefully, with these measures, I will be able to find supporting evidence
that proves educational TV can be a good predictor for word learning.
Through the years, one continuous point of debate has been whether educational TV can facilitate
and improve word learning in children. Many studies on this debate have found distinct and mixed
research outcomes. For example, one study has been Mabel s Rice Word from Sesame Street, in
which he found mixed supporting evidence that television programs can

Review Of The Oresteia
Hoque, Zohirul
Oresteia
At the point when a person is blamed for a crime they are either discovered guilty or innocent. This
is the fundamental thought of justice and it is the thing that people feel needs to happen on the off
chance that somebody has done something dubious. In the play The Oresteia by Aeschylus, the tale
of Clytemnestra guilt or innocents is addressed.
She does numerous things that individuals are not very content with and those disputable activities
all through the story; basically in the primary part Agamemnon gets her into an inconvenience. As
we investigate the body of evidence that works against her innocents by investigating the killings of
Agamemnon and Cassandra and the proud expression about the killings.
This activity causes a lot of fierceness in Clytemnestra. One could exceptionally surely know
why she would act along these lines. Clytemnestra see s the slaughtering of her little girl as
simply being murdered for her spouse s gain. She additionally feels that he could have picked an
alternate virgin to give up. One the other hands, if one takes a gander at Agamemnon s issue they
could think something else. Agamemnon was the general of his armed force and the pioneer that
his men gazed upward to. So when the benefit came to him saying I will give you wind for a
virgin sacrifice he took it as relinquishing somebody close to him. So Agamemnon picks his girl
the virgin and yielded her with decision making ability for what was best for the armed

What A Genogram Is More Than A Family Tree
Introduction
A genogram is more than a family tree. It is a visual interpretation of a family and their
relationships. A genogram says a lot about a family. It uses symbols to describe the relationships
between family members. One can use a genogram to tell the dynamics of a family. Sometimes,
there are patterns that are passed down generation to generation. The purpose of this paper is to go
into more detail about what a genogram is and what it means. Also, I have provided a genogram of
my family on the last page. I will spend most of the time talking about my family and what our
genogram means. Different people in my family have different relationships with one another.
There are several characteristics I see that have been passed down.
Genograms Genograms provide one way to envision intergenerational transmissions. A genogram is
a multigenerational family tree that depicts familial relationships visually. It records information
about social relationships and biological and psychological issues in the family across three or
more generations (Galvin, Bylund Grill, 2010). There are different symbols that mean different
things in a relationship. Men are represented by squares and women are represented by circles.
Three lines means that there is a close relationship, a dotted line means the the relationship is
distant, and a zigzag line means the relationship is conflictual. The power of multigenerational
transmission is part of a puzzle that is unfolding

Justice System In 12 Angry Men
On October 3, 1955 one of America s most immense juror cases had finally announced a verdict ,
O.J Simpson was found not guilty in killing his wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman
Nicole s friend. Only to find out years later that O.J. was actually guilty for this crime, when
detectives went to O.J. s estate home they found multiple evidence such as blood all over his white
Bronco, hairs of his on Ron s shirt, and even footprints of Simpson s shoe size. Was the United
States justicesystem so corrupt and prejudice to the point that they let a guilty man free just because
of his social status and money. Simpson displays the main topic in the short story 12 Angry Men
which is whether the United States has a prejudice unfair justice system. Sidney Lumetand Reginald
Rose the writers and directors of 12 Angry Men wrote and produced a play about 12 jurors that
briefly discuss a trial and come to a verdict , personal issues develop which causes conflict and
only makes the process more grueling. The accused boy is being found guilty for murdering his
father, 12 jurors are put in a hot room in New York and spend hours briefly viewing the scenario.
Although one might think that the justice system should be left in the hands of citizens ,the
director of 12 Angry Men , Sidney Lumet demonstrate that the United States justice system is unfair
and is simply corrupt , inefficient , and unjust due to the jurors biased way of thinking, ignorant

Mandela Effect Speech
I. Introduction
Attention Gainer ( I am going to show pictures of popular brands that make you test your
memory, and ask the audience, Have you ever seen everyday brands spelled a certain way, and you
look at it again. And it was never as you saw it.
Reason To Listen/Credibility (Then I will Say) Can you imagine yourself at a store, and looking
through the candy, food, whichever section you are at, and all of a sudden you see that the
popular brand Febreze was never spelled Febreeze , or Kit Kat was never spelled with a dash, Kit
Kat . It blows your mind, and you can only help, but wonder how can this be. It test your memory
quite a bit and makes you think about how it could ve changed from the last time you saw that
brand to the time it was seen differently in the store that day. The explanation to this phenomena
would be The Mandela Effect. My interest in this topic came to me when I was walking into an
H.E.B, and I saw a Febreze bottle that caught my eye. The Febreze bottle was spelled Febreze ,
and I have always remembered Febreeze . When I Got home I went straight to my computer and
searched up Febreze or Febreeze. The first thing that popped up was the Mandela Effect, and
ever since then I have been hooked on this effect and its logic. As of right now, I have been
looking and searching for more and more theories of this effect for a good amount of time, and I
believe with my research and study I can show what The Mandela Effect is all about.

  • 2. Comparing Kant, Liberal Legacies And Foreign Affairs In Kant, Liberal Legacies, and Foreign Affairs, Doyle attempts to disprove the Realist political system while advocating for the Liberal political system using second opinions and various forms of evidence. Doyle creates a strong case for the adoption of liberal democracies within states because, as he explains, promotes peace between them. He discusses the fact that states who adopt a domestic liberal system hold the same key institutions and these create a pacifist effect among liberal states. Throughout his paper, Doyle addresses a couple main items. The first being the fact that liberal states do not go to war with other liberal states, and the second being the fact that despite remaining peaceable with each other, liberal states have problems with many other non liberal states. Throughout his paper, Doyle discusses the liberalismwill bring peace rule as if it is already proven and true despite historical evidence, and can be used to predict an outcome for the future. This type of discussion is for a law and not a hypothesis. Doyle also seems to claim that the political nature of the individual state will solely determine its policies and actions. He discredits the Realist point of view and does not dabble with the possibility that the anarchical system of the world could contribute to states actions as well.... • 5. Historical Epidemiological Study Trends On The Causal... SYSTEMATIC REVIEW OF HISTORICAL EPIDEMIOLOGICAL STUDY TRENDS IN ESTABLISHING THE CAUSAL RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN HPV AND CERVICAL CANCER: For centuries, the etiology of cancer of the cervix remained unknown and there were several attempts by past scientists to establish the cause of cervical cancer without much success. However, the earliest breakthroughs came in the 1930s while Dr Richard Shope of the Rockefeller University was working on wild rabbits that had developed horn , which upon further analysis, was caused by a virus that could be transmitted. This discovery played a crucial part in the subsequent studies by Dr Zur Hausen (Cummings 2011). According to Moghissi and Mack (1968), one of the earliest epidemiological studies to probe into the relationship between sexual intercourse and cervical cancer involved prostitutes in a prison in the U.S whose exceptional social peculiarities bordered on sexual intercourse with multiple partners. This epidemiological study concluded by identifying early exposure to coitus and multiple sexual partners as the primary etiologic bases for the development of cancer of the cervix. In the classic research by Gagnon involving the study of 13,000 Canadian Nuns, he found no single case of cervical cancer (cited in Fenoglio 1982). This was a significant finding in that it concretized the association between sexual exposure and cancer of the cervix thereby paving the way for further descriptive studies to investigate the relationship. ... In the past, women were treated much differently. They were viewed as inferior to men and were denied many rights that we have now. Women struggled to achieve their civil rights. On Election day in 1920, millions of American women voted for the very first time. On August 26, 1920, the 19th Amendment was passed. Women suffrage caught the nation attention first in July 1848 at Seneca Falls, New York. More than 300 women gathered to commence the women s suffrage movement. (Newman) Kennedy later gave an administrative command to establish the President s Commission on the Status of Women. Former first Lady Eleanor Roosevelt became the head of the commission. The commission pushed Congress to confront the ongoing sex discrimination within the country. Congress proceeded to pass the Equal Pay Act of 1963. Although the bill was a great first step for equality, not all women were paid equally as men. The next year, Title VII of the Civil Rights was passed. This became a huge triumph for women and anyone who was being discriminated against. To uphold equal civil rights, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) was also created. The purpose of the EEOC was to investigate any type of discrimination in work environment areas and to enforce equal employment. The mid 19th century was the beginning of the civil rights. After gaining the right to vote, reproductive rights, and equal rights, women have accomplished many obstacles in society. The site for this study will be a local high school with both female and male learners with Special Education Needs (SEN) and learning disability. The research will target or focus on one of the schools with a high number of disabled students to ensure the statistics taken are more conclusive for the study. Together with the school administration, 9 12th grade teachers, students, and counselors we will attempt to come up with the best and efficient mode of conducting the research. Addressing the issue of young people with disabilities requires the inclusion of a larger audience such as the students, teachers, and administrators (Supports Center, 2004). According to Milsom, counselor s assigned the role of preparing students for the job and life outside school has failed to adequately present the disabled students with skills to cope with life after school (2002). The research records the type of instruction and skills taught to the students, looking for the relation of the information and survival in the outside world. The study will collect data by asking the students questions related to survival outside the school and rate students according to the level of preparedness. Through such information, the research can offer a clear understanding of the issue to be discussed as well as the culture in the schools today concerning their ability to prepare learners for employment environment and real life after school. • 8. Summary Of A Wall Of Fire Rising Life can be a beautiful thing, or in this case of the short story A Wall of Fire Rising, by Edwidge Danticat, life is an unpleasant thing. One of the main characters, Guy, is struggling to enjoy his life due to living as a low economy family in the post colonial Haitian era. Such a life can cause one to become crazy when seeing an opportunity to escape, but continuously being unable to reach it. Being out of reach of his escape plan and left with no other option, Guy, places little value in life and continuously thinks about hope for a better life. His aggressive characteristic traits are not an expression of a strange personality, but rather a reaction to feeling broken. Trapped by his economic status, Guy is out of reach of any opportunities to better his family s life. Because of this, he learned to accept that being a permanent worker at the sugar mill would never happen. Growing older, he knows he wants better for his son s life, but must keep up with the normal life his family belongs to. Many years ago, it was determined that the men of a specific decent were the only ones allowed to work at the mill. The Haitians of Lebanese, the sugar mill owners, were the workers because they had been in the country for generations. As the narrator explains, The jobs at the sugar mill were few and far between. The people who had them never left, or when they did they would pass the job on to another family member who was already waiting on line (Danticat 97 99). Since Guy was viewed as a lower class to the community, he worried about his son s future, but his wife tried to overlook the thought of her son living like Guy. Multiple times, Guy tried to tell his wife about his escape plan to a better life, but she blew it off each and every time. Due to the setting being post colonial, Guy never experienced a great life. After his multiple walks to watch the state sponsored news with his wife and son, he continuously notices a hot air balloon. The community knew the balloon belonged to the Assad family; however, after leaving it on the grass by the mill it seemed to become Guy s center of attention. Cloning Individualism Results May Vary: Adam Phillips s Theory of Cloning and The Paradoxical Apotheosis of Individualism Adam Phillips s essay Sameness Is All takes the form of a dialogue with two children to introduce the fantasy of cloning in which everyone is identical. One reason for homeschooling students is to ensure their child s values are the same as theirs. Homeschoolers are taught to think in a certain way and to believe certain things. Many parents have chosen home schooling in an effort to encourage specific religious values, and in some cases to avoid exposing their children to perceived cultural and irreligious precepts and ideologies (Stevenson 3). The Possible Causes of Cleft Lip and Palate Cleft lip and/or palate is a condition where the tissue of the lip did not completely close during embryotic formation that affects 1 in 700 people born. Though not immediately fatal, the disorder can cause complications with consuming and speech that could lead to more serious problems. The only way to fix the gap is to surgically go in and sew the two sides of the lip /palate together; this is a comparable easier and faster solution than other solutions out there for different disorders. Many people who get the surgery recover fine, have slight physical differences, and are able to succeed in society like anyone else (condition does not hinder mental state or ability drastically). This condition has many different phenotypes that fall in two categories, unilateral cleft and bilateral cleft (Dixon et al., 2011). In a unilateral cleft, only one side of the palate or lip is affected (asymmetrical) while in a bilateral cleft, both sides are affected usually in a symmetric pattern. Because of the large range of phenotypes, it is very difficult to trace back to certain genes and factors and figure out how these factors together influence the expression of the trait. Cleft lip and/or palate can be expressed by itself, called non syndromic, or with other conditions including Kabuki syndrome, called syndromic (Dixon et al., 2011). • 36. The Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System Essay Methods One major method that will be used will be the statistics taken from the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) provided by the NC department of health. Also, data will be used for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Trust for America s Health study, done for the year 2015. Both of these will give pertinent data on what factors may increase obesity over the target population. While the method of this surveillance may use the BRFSS, there can be many more other methods that can be used. In evaluating a financial project, majority of the times the methods used during the evaluations will be quantitative, in order to prove financial gain (Makarova Sokolva, 2014). The same quantitative method can also be used in two different ways within this project. The first method used for quantitative reporting, would be as the same as Makarova Sokolva mentioned, which would be using it as a financial indicator of the overall success of the project (Makarova Sokolva, 2014). As stated earlier, obese individuals spend about 1,429 dollars more on health care than a normal individual (Finkelstein, Trodgdon, Cohen Dietz, 2009). If an analyst wanted to take this quantitative method, they would use the amount of money saved per year, over the course of an individual s life, as a way to show that the evaluation of a plan was successful. To further this, if the surveillance saw one person stay below obese for 25 years, this would yield a total savings of around ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. Causes And Consequences Of Data Leakage Data leakage involves loss of data which invariable leads to loss of knowledge. Knowledge is an important asset for existence as it involves the seamless combination of experiences, specialist insight, standards and plans (Ahmad, Bosua and Scheepers 2014). Thus data is indispensable for development, preserve competitive edge and when it is lost can lead to several consequences. Consequences of data leakage are considerably high since once data is lost it is difficult to regain it back and consequences can last for a lifetime. Consequences of data leakage can be classified as direct or indirect loss (Gordon 2007). Direct loss is easy to quantify and measure such as fines (Phua 2009). However indirect loss is almost impossible to measure and have wider implications like negative publicity (Shabtai, Yuval and Rokach 2012). This will probably lead to loss of revenue and business edge. Indirect loss is one of the reasons for unreported data leakage incidents (Symantec 2014). In 2012, 72% of organisations that experience major data leakage incident closed within 24 months, 93% file for bankruptcy within one year while 50% closed immediately (Gunnarsson 2014). Thus the consequences of data leakage have serious implications as discussed in sub section 1.6. 1.6 IMPLICATION OF DATA LOSS Implication of data leakage is varied as data have different meaning to different entities. Some people talk about junk food as one of the worst possible substances to put inside the human body. The number of calories, carbohydrates, and sodium in junk food products is massive, but healthfoodcan be just as bad. In David H. Freedman s article, How Junk FoodCan End Obesity, he explains the many pros and cons to both junk food and health food. He later mentions a delicious blueberry pomegranate smoothie that rang in at a relatively modest 220 calories that he got from a fast food eatery (Freedman, 2013, p. 2). The point Freedman was attempting to illustrate was that just because an item is from a health food eatery does not necessarily mean that it is healthier than basically the same product at a fast food eatery. Peter A. Georgescu points out that science has developed healthful ways to create food that is just as appetizing and satisfying as junk food (Georgescu, 2013, p. 2). Therefore, this becomes a compromise where food is: cheaper, healthy, and scrumptious all in one. In his article, Freedman seemingly relies upon a repetitive use of calories throughout this article to illustrate his point. Another major point Freedman uses to support his opinion, is that even stores that sell precisely wholesome foods are not always healthy. One snack he selected had six times as much fat as it does protein, along with loads of carbohydrates (Freedman, 2013, p. 6). Freedman uses comments just like the one stated previously throughout the article, as well as conflicting statements. If students with different abilities are put in the same class the first benefit is that they can learn from each other and draw on other people s strengths. A mathematical genius may be poor in arts or sports and this is what he can improve by interacting with his classmates. Also why we object to separate teaching is that teachers tend to pay more attention to those with better academic results which may give students in the slow class a sense of discrimination. • 51. Understanding Long Term Conditions And Palliative Care The purpose of this assignment is to demonstrate understanding of long term conditions and palliative care. Nursing care in general entails holistic care and collaborative care of individuals of all ages, families, groups and communities, whether sick or well (Royal College of Nursing, (RCN) 2007). Better management of lifelong conditions has been the priority of the National Health Service since the 1990s. When long term conditions are managed well in the community, patients can live a quality life without visiting hospital frequently (RCN, 2011). In Britain, six in ten people are reported to be suffering from long term conditions that currently cannot be cured; and these people are often suffering from more than one condition that makes their care challenging. It is estimated that by 2030 the UK will have double the number of people aged 85 years or over, who are living with one or more long term condition (Department of Health, 2014). This essay discusses the core principles of long term conditions and management. Government guidelines and standards are also discussed in relation to how these will impact the care of the patients who are experiencing long term conditions. The reports, guidelines and plans that play an important role in directing the current nursing system today, are discussed with regard to the management of chronic conditions and lastly, palliative care and outcomes from the publication Together for Health Delivering End of Life Care (2013) ... Dr.Strangelove Film Analysis Essay example Introduction In 1964, Stanley Kubrick released Dr. Strangelove or: How I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb to both critical and commercial praise. The historical context surrounding the film s release was at the height of the Cold War, just over a year after the Cuban Missile Crisis as the Vietnam War was beginning to escalate. While based on a more serious book, Red Alert by Peter George, it was soon transformed into a black comedy that parodied the absurdity of global nuclear destruction and the mentality of the Cold War. While not as overtly anti war as his third film Paths of Glory, Kubrick still manages to show the ridiculousness of nuclear war while linking two basic male instincts together, sex and the desire to kill. ... While Strangelove admits that women are essential to the survival of mankind, the motivations of women are suspicious. Ripper s decision to attack Russia when he was unprovoked is symbolic of his fear of being attacked. He has become paranoid that the same infringement he performs on others might fall on him. The constant waiting creates a life of its own within his mind and a sense of deep apprehension that the same people he has abused will take their revenge. In his office, Ripper is usually shot in high contrast lighting. A lighting effect that is shown largely in melodramas and tragedies to show, evil, fear and the unknown, all of which the character embodies. The overbearing masculinity of most of the characters is balanced by Mandrake and the Presidents, who are decidedly feminist when handling the conflicts and attitudes about war. Mandrake plays a passive role when dealing with Ripper. He listens to Rippers outrageous ideas, being careful not to upset him. He is also very reluctant to help fire Rippers machine gun and tries desperately to convince him to recall the planes or hand over the code. The President tries every possible diplomatic solution to quell the military problem. He speaks to the Russian Premier in a feminist manner to try and avoid confrontation. His approach to the ... • 55. Television Programs Can Support And Facilitate Language... For many years, parents have relied on using educational programs to teach and engage their children with new concepts and materials. Conversely, many children have also used television as an opportunity for learning and language development. For example, the rise of television programs like Elmo Street and Teletubbies demonstrates this upward trend of substituting media sources for teaching and learning. However, despite the increasing support from parents toward television programs, many researchers have mixed reviews on putting our children into viewing long hours of what they considered unnecessary learning. Thus in what follows of this paper, I will focus on explaining how television programs can support and facilitate language development. Moreover, I will also discuss the mixed literacy support for using television as a learning tool and finally, I will conduct a study that measures, specifically, the relationship between watching educational TV and learning novel words. Hopefully, with these measures, I will be able to find supporting evidence that proves educational TV can be a good predictor for word learning. Through the years, one continuous point of debate has been whether educational TV can facilitate and improve word learning in children. Many studies on this debate have found distinct and mixed research outcomes. For example, one study has been Mabel s Rice Word from Sesame Street, in which he found mixed supporting evidence that television programs can ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A genogram says a lot about a family. It uses symbols to describe the relationships between family members. One can use a genogram to tell the dynamics of a family. Sometimes, there are patterns that are passed down generation to generation. The purpose of this paper is to go into more detail about what a genogram is and what it means. Also, I have provided a genogram of my family on the last page. I will spend most of the time talking about my family and what our genogram means. Different people in my family have different relationships with one another. There are several characteristics I see that have been passed down. Genograms Genograms provide one way to envision intergenerational transmissions. A genogram is a multigenerational family tree that depicts familial relationships visually. It records information about social relationships and biological and psychological issues in the family across three or more generations (Galvin, Bylund Grill, 2010). There are different symbols that mean different things in a relationship. Men are represented by squares and women are represented by circles. Three lines means that there is a close relationship, a dotted line means the the relationship is distant, and a zigzag line means the relationship is conflictual. The power of multigenerational transmission is part of a puzzle that is unfolding ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 59. Mandela Effect Speech I. Introduction Attention Gainer ( I am going to show pictures of popular brands that make you test your memory, and ask the audience, Have you ever seen everyday brands spelled a certain way, and you look at it again. And it was never as you saw it. It blows your mind, and you can only help, but wonder how can this be. It test your memory quite a bit and makes you think about how it could ve changed from the last time you saw that brand to the time it was seen differently in the store that day. The explanation to this phenomena would be The Mandela Effect. My interest in this topic came to me when I was walking into an H.E.B, and I saw a Febreze bottle that caught my eye. The Febreze bottle was spelled Febreze , and I have always remembered Febreeze . When I Got home I went straight to my computer and searched up Febreze or Febreeze. The first thing that popped up was the Mandela Effect, and ever since then I have been hooked on this effect and its logic. As of right now, I have been looking and searching for more and more theories of this effect for a good amount of time, and I believe with my research and study I can show what The Mandela Effect is all about.
