Thomas Jefferson Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of Thomas Jefferson can be both intriguing and challenging. On
one hand, Thomas Jefferson is a pivotal figure in American history, known for his multifaceted
roles as a Founding Father, the principal author of the Declaration of Independence, and the third
President of the United States. His contributions to the shaping of the nation, his philosophical
outlook, and his complex legacy provide a rich tapestry for exploration.
However, the difficulty lies in navigating the vast amount of information available on Thomas
Jefferson. The need to sift through historical documents, analyze different perspectives on his
actions and beliefs, and synthesize a coherent and well-argued essay can be daunting.
Furthermore, addressing the controversies surrounding Jefferson, such as his views on slavery
and his relationship with Sally Hemings, requires a nuanced and sensitive approach.
Another challenge is maintaining focus and relevance within the essay. Thomas Jefferson's life
spans a broad range of topics, from politics and governance to philosophy, architecture, and
science. Striking a balance between depth and breadth while staying on topic is crucial for a
successful essay.
Moreover, capturing the essence of Thomas Jefferson's character and impact on the formation of
the United States requires a thoughtful and analytical writing style. The ability to convey
complex ideas clearly and concisely is essential to engage the reader and effectively
communicate the significance of Jefferson's contributions.
In conclusion, while writing an essay on the topic of Thomas Jefferson presents a stimulating
intellectual endeavor, it demands careful research, critical thinking, and adept writing skills to
navigate the complexities of his life and legacy.

She Endured In William Faulkner s The Sound And The
Fury
She Endured The characters in The Sound and the Fury, by William Faulkner, are
psychologically complex, haunted, prone to spells of vanity and desires, and
ultimately tragic. Always one to play the role of the noble Southern gentleman,
Quentin Compson III is passionate and neurotic, consumed with the ideal Southern
values of chivalry and honor. Quentin is tormented by his father s nihilistic
philosophy and degradation of women and African Americans, as Jason Compson III
provides no moral compass to steer Quentin away from the storms of his chaotic
thoughts. Rational, cold, and calculating, Jason Compson IV is a cruel and racist
man who will stop at nothing to ensure financial success. Caddy Compson, unlike her

To Dilsey, Benjy is innocent and in need of protection. Besides Caddy, the Gibsons
are Benjy s true caretakers and family. Dilsey s actions prove that she is a devoted
mother figure to the idiot , Benjy. Dilsey willingly employs her son and grandson,
T.P and Luster, respectively, to be Benjy s personal caretakers. Furthermore, on
Benjy s birthday, Dilsey purchases the cake with her own money. Dilsey lights the
candles on the cake and tells Luster and Benjy to eat it before Jason sees and makes
a fuss about an expense he has not paid for. Dilsey is more familiar with Benjy s
tendencies than anyone else, even Caddy. She is the only one who knows that
Benjy will break into a state of hysteria if the left turn is taken at the monument of
the Confederate soldier at the end of the square. She instructs Luster to take the
right turn, since she knows that it s a symbolic sense of order and security for
Benjy. Associations define Benjy s world. Furthermore, Benjy knows what time is,
since he feels Caddy s loss when he no longer smells trees . But, being mute and not
possessing will nor deliberation, Benjy is unable to act, and helpless before the
intrusions of the past. The past defines order and sequence in Benjy s consciousness,
and when the pattern is broken the loss is unbearable. After Caddy s departure, Benjy

States economy was the Telegraph which was invented in 1844 by Samuel Morse.
This invention was built to improve long distance communication to other regions of
the US. The telegraph was most commonly found in the North reign of the United
States. This invention benefited the economy because this allowed merchants to
know when to expect their shipments. This innovation also improved communication
between Europe and the United States because this is where news would be informed

Informative Speech On Bees
Sergei Danielian Professor Bates COMM M01 16 October 2017 Bees General
Purpose: To inform. Specific Purpose: To inform the audience how and why bees
are dying. Central Idea: Now it s important to recognize that bees are not just a
meme, but that if bees do die out, humanity could be severely affected.
INTRODUCTION: Attention Getter: Bees are dying at an alarming rate and we
just don t know why! Introduction to Topic: Actually, contrary to that meme, we
actually do know why, and I will be telling you why. Relevance: According to an
article done by the USDA, The number of honey bee hives in the U.S has
decreased from 6 million in the 1940s to 2.5 million in 2017 ( Being Serious about
Saving Bees ). Now, if all the bees start to die, then thousands of plants will also die
and certain beloved foods will also die. Thesis: Now it s important to recognize
that bees are not just a meme, but that if bees do die out, humanity could be
severely affected. Preview: The demise of bees is mainly attributed to none other
than parasites and pesticides. Body: Transition Statement: Now let us take a look
at one of the factors why bees are dying. 1: Parasites, bees are mainly dying due to
life threatening parasites. 1A: There is the parasite called the varroa destructor,
also known as the vampire mite since it feeds by drinking on the blood of bees.
The Varroa Destructor tends to enter a bee brooding cell before the hive bees cover
the cell with a wax capping. The mites then feed on the
The Effect Of Switching Frequency On Switching
Fig. 10 compares the switching instances between (i) CSFSVPWM and
VSFSVPWM, and (ii) CSFDPWM2 and VSFDPWM2. It also shows the shape of the
switching frequency variation for each sector. The following can be noted:
The VSFSVPWM reduces 3 switching instances per cycle compared to
CSFSVPWM, a 13.6 % reduction.
The VSFDPWM reduces 2 switching instance per cycle compared to CSFDPWM, a
12.5% reduction.
Hence, the proposed variable switching frequency PWM reduces the switching
instances within a fundamental cycle by lowering the effective switching frequency,
while maintaining the output current ripple within a pre defined range.
To study the impact of VSFPWM on switching loss reduction over the entire
modulation index range, the simulations were carried out different speeds
(modulation indices) for a constant load torque. Table II and Table III compares the
current ripple, and the percentage change in the current distortion and the switching
losses for CSFSVPWM VSFSVPWM and CSFDPWM2 VSFDPWM2 techniques
respectively. Similar to the analytical results at section II, there is higher switching
loss reduction capability at higher speed due to higher variation in current ripple at
higher speeds (modulation indices). For example, with VSFSVPWM, around 15%
switching loss reduction is obtained, whereas with VSFDPWM2, around 7.2%
switching loss reduction is obtained. The difference in switching loss reduction
capability in comparison to analytical results is attributed to the

INTRODUCTION Evidence based practise is the integration of clinical expertise,
patient preferences and the best research into the decision making process for
patient care (Porter O Grady, 2010). (Sakett) The Nursing Midwifery Council

The need for EBP is in order to improve service procedures and provide reliable

promotes the application of research evidence as a basis on which to make health

which has been supported, with a valid and clear rationale to support it. Whilst using
(EBP), this also acknowledges the patient/clients best interest. (EBP) is the
conscientious, explicit and judicious use of current best evidence in making
decisions about the care of individual patient/clients (Sackett et al, 1996). In this
definition Sackett facilitates an understanding between (EBP) and decisions we
make in everyday practice. This demonstrates the strong connection between both
aspects. Here, Sackett emphasises the importance of decisions we make as
healthcare professionals, and how clearly they should be stated. This shows that
decisions are well thought out, which demonstrates that the use of evidence is used
sensibly and carefully, which means that any care or support we deliver must be
evidence based. It shows that Sackett understands that if care or support we provide
has a rationale, then this enables us to deliver it with a meaningful purpose. In
adherence to the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) we as healthcare

not expected to be easy nor should I expect it to be handed to me, but a true
testament of the journey God has created for me to be a blessing and also to help
and inspire someone else along the way. There have been many distractions that has
postponed this achievement, but I truly believe that the time is now and that God
has prepared the way through this institution and with CCU s professors to

Joint Commission Case Study
The joint commission states that the videotaping of patients is allowed only when
informed consent has been given and signed. There are extenuating circumstances
that fall out of this spectrum, namely when a patient is unable to sign a consent
form. In some respects video monitoring a patient could prove beneficial in saving
their life as well as other individual s lives. A hospital then may video a patient only
in scenarios that involve life threatening aspects. Other than this type of patient, any
videotaping must be made aware to the patient and his approved by her/him. A
confidentiality form must also be signed educating the patient on the uses of the tape
and who will be viewing it. The monitoring of patients on a 24/7 basis for one

consented (Shahin et al, 2009). Some patients refused to participate in the study,
while others agreed to participate but failed to sign the consent form. All the
patients admitted to the intensive care unit during the month of April to October
2006 were eligible to participate in the study and a questionnaire was used as the
tool to collect data. The privacy of the patient was maintained at all times while the
nurses collected the data. Patients provided information of their own will. Patients
were tested on admission and on discharge. The researchers conducting the study

the 121 patients, 23 were admitted in a coma. The average length of stay for the 121
patients was one week. Sixteen patients were found to have pressure ulcers on
admission. The final results showed a decrease in the number of pressure ulcers. Six
people obtained pressure ulcers during their stay in the intensive

it was believed that only men should be educated. She was a successful author of
educational textbooks that were deeply rooted in the Bible. Her educational
philosophy was that Christianity was important to public education.
Booker T. WashingtonBooker T. Washington was the most significant educator in the
African American community. He also headed the Tuskegee Institution and founded
a Bible College to improve education for pastors. His school incorporated Biblical
principles into every aspect of education (Barton, (2004)).
Daniel WebsterDaniel Webster had much influence on the educational system in
America. He tried a case before the United State s Supreme Court regarding a
school in Philadelphia that had forbid religious leaders to be on the campus of the

The Impact Of Genentech On The New Biotechnology
Industry
Genentech was founded in 1976 by Robert Swanson and Herbert Boyer. The company
was one of the first biotechnology companies. Its mission was to develop manufacture
and commercialize biotherapeutics drugs. Genentech main focus was in areas of
oncology, immunology and tissue growth and repair. After few years of company s
development, Genentechscientists successfully produced the first therapeutic proteins
which involve human genes. Evaluating with the VRIO analysis, Genentech is
valuable, rare, costly to imitate, and organized to capture value. The main advantage
of the company is that best scientists in the world doing their own research, focusing
in produce the best in class medicines with leading edge scientific knowledge.
Genentech has a rare resource, which provide opportunity for scientists to collaborate
with one another. The working environment is also rare, which provide the scientists
with a 275,000 square foot state of the art facility. Herbert Boyer owns the first major
patentin the new biotechnologysector, which no other companies can duplicate or
purchase those patent rights. This factor is costly to imitate because the company has
the patent for a period of time, thus creating a competitive advantage. Genentech is
organized to capture value and sophisticated selection criteria in order to move
projects from discovery phase to commercialization. The projects are mainly based on
scientific rationale, critical medical needs, significant market opportunities,

Is Extinction Forever?

A group of Russian scientists have announced the launch of a project which attempts
to resurrect the extinct Woolly Mammoth using the most recent cloning technologies.
The scientists will be working on a recently discovered Mammoth that was found
dripping blood in Siberia. If the somatic cloning process is a success, it is said that
there will be a successfully cloned Mammoth by 2017. However, somatic cloning is
renowned to be very difficult, so the scientists are simply challenged with the
question, can a Mammoth be cloned? This essay will argue that the Mammoth can
not be resurrected. This is because no matter how well preserved the Mammoth
appears, the DNA ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the case that scientists do find a Mammoth that is in absolutely pristine
condition and has intact DNA in the nucleus that is prime for the somatic cloning
process, the chances that scientists will end up with a baby Mammoth are still
slim. An article written by Alasdair Wilkins in 2011 stated that despite technology
becoming more advanced cloning still remains a frustratingly inexact process, one
where a single successful fertilisation out of hundreds of failed attempts would be
considered a massive achievement (Wilkins, 2011). Cloning is still an entirely
experimental technology, and that any successful attempt should be considered
purely a matter of chance and luck (Wilkins, 2011). In support of this, an article
from the University of Utah (2015) stated that cloning animals through somatic
cloning nuclear transfer is simply inefficient, with success rates ranging from
0.1% to 3% (University of Utah, 2015). Meaning for every 1000 attempts, only one
to thirty clones are made (University of Utah, 2015). Couple with the fact that the
Mammoth DNA could be over 40,000 years old, there is little DNA available and
there is a surrogate mother, the success rate drops to around 0.01% (University of
Utah, 2015). The somatic cloning process has such a low success rate because of two
major things that can go wrong. First,
What were the changes in John Proctor s character...
In The Crucible, John Proctor initially portrayed a sinful man whom had an affair,
struggling to

character
showed he transformed from a deceitful man and husband, to one whom was true to
himself as well
as his beliefs. This paper will discuss Proctor s change in character and his struggle

main theme on it, and comment on the main characters and some literary devices.
Thank You M am is about a boy called Roger and a large woman Mrs Luella Bates

It is a kind of slang that Americans use especially African American. In my point of
view, the climax is in the end of the text, when Mrs Luella Bates gives Roger ten
dollars. He simply shocks and gets other thoughts about her. He feels guilty for
trying to steal her pocketbook, he apologizes Lady, I am sorry . She cares and feels
sorry about him, although she does not know him. She leads him down the hall and
opens the door for him, then she says God night, behave yourself, boy. In the end, I
will simply say that this story is relevant nowadays, because some countries still
have this problem. Some people steal to satisfy their needs only. So therefore this
story is a good example to these people. It teaches how they can fulfil their wishes

Essay on Cryptosporidium Coccidi
Cryptosporidium coccidi or C. parvum is a Protisit organism that causes a parasitic
inflammatory gastroenteritis called Cryptosporidiosis. C. parvum is classified into
the Protozoa class known as Apicomplexans. The normal habitat for this organism is
in aquatic environments and also in moist soil.
The path of transmission for C. parvum is through the fecal oral route. It can be
transmitted from human to human or animal to human. This organism is transmitted
usually by contaminated water sources; which include recreational water sources like
swimming pools, water parks, lakes, ponds, etc. Another common source of
transmission of C. parvum is through physical contact to the Cryptosporidium
oocysts, a common place for this to happen is ... Show more content on

Treatment of Cryptosporidiosis depends on the patient s immune system. For a person
with a healthy immune system usually requires no treatment and the patient with
recover own their own. It is important to drink plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration;
sometime fluid replacement therapy is needed. In immune comprised patients, like
someone with AIDS, may be given antiretroviral therapy, which will help improve
their immune system and decrease their symptoms. Sometimes a patient is prescribed
Nitazoxanide, an antiprotozoal agent that treats diarrhea, and/or Paromomycin, a
broad spectrum antibiotic.2
C. parvum has a complex life cycle, it has includes trophozoite, sexual, asexual,
oocyst stages. To start the life cycle of this microorganism the sporulated oocysts is
excreted in feces by an infected human or animal. It is usually transmitted by contact
through a contaminated water source. The oocyst is then ingested. Excystation
occurs and the sporozoites are released from the oocyst. It then attaches itself to the
epithelial cells of the gastrointestinal tract. Within the cells the parasite goes through
asexual multiplication producing a merozoite. Then merozoite goes through sexual
multiplication producing Macrogamonts (male) and Microgametes (female).
Fertilization occurs and oocysts develop that sporulate in the infected host. There are
two types of oocysts that are produced, thin walled oocysts and thick walled oocysts.
The thin walled oocysts are

Judith Bennett is a Medievalist Historian who has focused much of her research on
English/European women and feminist history (1 2). In her book History Matters:
Patriarchy and the Challenge of Feminism, she argues that feminism and history,
specifically women s, need to be more closely linked. This link, she argues, comes
from taking theories and methods from one field and applying them to the other in
order to create a more indepth analysis of both. Bennett states in her introduction that
this text ...builds steadily from problem to solution to elaboration, and though this
statement holds, due to the brevity of this book, many aspects of this text are not
well defined, explored, or analyzed (4 5).
Throughout this text, Bennett uses feminist language, and indeed the word feminism
without properly defining the term. It is true that this book is aimed at an audience
that is likely to known these terms. Yet, by not giving a definition Bennett opens the
floor for radically different interpretations based upon where the reader s definition
falls on the spectrum, from hating men and wanting female superiority to wanting
equality and justice for all regardless of sex, that defines the various schools of
feminism. Despite this lack of clarity, many of the arguments that Bennett makes are
still valid. Specifically, Bennett notes that the language of feminist and women s
history has changed from the biting and often uncomfortable rhetoric of 1970s
feminism to more neutral
Teaching And Learning By Paulo Freire s Speech Of
Desire,...
The art of the conclusion is to summarize and generalize experiences or information
in order to affect the reader, and to strongly close out a piece of writing. Moreover, an
author must strive to utilize universal situations to increase the ability to relate to an
essay for a conclusion to demand understanding. Three writers from Ways of Reading
have conclusions that adequately achieve an effective conclusion: Paulo Freire, author
of The Banking Concept of Education, Richard Rodriguez, author of The
Achievement of Desire, and Alberto Alvaro Rios, author of Translating Translation:
Finding the Beginning. All of these authors write about the way education currently
functions as far as creativity and the importance of being curious enough,... Show

There is room for dialogue in this explanation as to whether or not this type of
society is necessary for utilizing this method of learning and teaching, but the
essence of such a concept almost disconnects the reader from the essayist.
Throughout the whole article, there are examples of what a banking classroom
may feel like, allowing the reader to relate to some experiences, but the conclusion
separates Freire s idea of how education should evolve and the reader s involvement
in that process. According to writer Neil Patel, it is absolutely required that this
disclaimer exist in the conclusion as to [clarify] what [Freire] is saying so [the

the popular question associated with conclusions: so what? To Freire, the main
message of his essay is to engage in a problem posing atmosphere, and his so what? is
that students today are losing a vital opportunity to learn by not actively trying to
change the ways of education. In summary, Freire uses his conclusion to summarize
and connect his essay, like most writers, but what sets him apart is his demand for
change in learning from the reader by dehumanizing the banking education style and
suggesting an educational revolution.

Oscar Wilde Dichotomy
Oscar Wilde works combine the importance of his own life with his ability to write to
create famous short stories, plays and novels. A few of his most famous works
include The Picture of Dorian Gray and The Importance of Being Earnest. This Irish
writer used unique themes and techniques to separate himself from many other
writers of his time. Themes such as homosexuality, individualism and aestheticism
frequently which make his works especially stand out. His most important techniques
include characterization, criticism and structure which enable Wilde to explain his
way of seeing the world through his works. His themes and techniques work closely

Standard British comedy plays used in that time period for a variety of reasons. At
the time most comedic plays used as much pace and physicality in their plays as
possible while Wilde s plays had performers that were much more seriously

Wilde made sure his actors were well aware that his plays were not to be acted out

Byzantium Feudalism Essay
Though initially economic development of Byzantium was defined by that the
emperor was the supreme owner of land and the state had a considerable fund of the
lands belonging only to the state treasury. These lands were so extensive that the
peasants living on them could not always process them. As a result, the state and
imperial lands surrendered in long term rent. The state widely used practice of grant
of lands for service military or state. As a result, in Byzantium there were feudal
forms of land tenure which reminded feudal possession in Western Europe. Also we
should consider the Byzantine feudalism analyzing history of social processes in the
country and changes in the lower class of the population. For example, In Western

Evolving Federalism Essay
Evolving Federalism
Pre Class Assignment
Federalism by definition is the division of power between a central government and
its participating members. How that power is divided is the subjective aspect of
federalism that was before the framers of the United States. Through compromise and
necessity the seeds for a strong central government were planted alongside already
strong state governments. Over time the seeds for strong central government grew;
wars, economic fluctuations and national growth established a strong central
government. As America s idea of federalism changed the central government grew
more powerful, the state s government gave more power away, and local governments
were established. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Schreiber s fifth and final stage is the post World War II era. Here, creative
federalism is born. Creative federalism points to a strong centralized government that
initiates federal programs to fight poverty, hunger, crime, and other social issues. This
stage sees a noticeable increase of power given to the national government by the
Warren Court.
Schreiber concludes by describing a struggle between cooperative federalism and
creative federalism. He sees these two models of federalism in competition with one
another on how power will be distributed between the three levels of government.
This is best described by Russell Hanson, in Governing Partners, as competitive
federalism , which is the idea that the three levels of government must compete for
power in a zero sum game.
It can be argued that we now are in a sixth stage that can be defined as competitive
federalism. Recent struggles involving gay marriage, education, tax reform, and anti
terrorism funding prove that a struggle for power between the three levels of
government is ongoing.
The issue of education best exemplifies the changing nature of intergovernmental
relations. State and local governments run their own school systems, and for the most
part, fund them as well. States differ from one in another
Ncidentaloma Research Paper
ncidentaloma is a tumor that does not show any symptoms until it is discovered by
some types of examinations that were not previously planed. Adrenal cortex, a part of
the adrenal gland, is where most of the adrenal tumors develop. Adrenal cortex
tumors can have either benign or cancerous properties.
Usually patients accidentally come across diagnostics of the disease. For example, a
change in female hormone levels can be a good indicator for whether a person has
an adrenal tumor. One would investigate whether an incidentaloma was influencing
adrenal cortical hormone levels by performing numerous tests and diagnostics. The
first step is the collection of urine or blood samples to be tested for adrenal gland
hormone levels. If a suspicious ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Different tests are usually performed to quantify the levels of cortisol, such as treating
patients with dexamethasone. Dexamethasone acts like cortisol for the patient s
body. Upon delivery to a patient who does not have adrenal tumor, the production of
the cortisol will decrease. On the other hand if a patient has an adrenal tumor, then
hormone levels will stay high even after receiving dexamethasone.
Another test that one can perform to measure the effect of an adrenal tumor is
performing an ACTH test, which measures the level of adrenocorticotropic hormone
(ACTH) in the blood. ACTH is a hormone that is produced from the pituitary gland
in the brain. Thus by performing the test one can get information about its
concentration in the serum. Usually if adrenal mass is influencing the corticosteroid
levels the test will show a higher level of cortisol while giving a lower level of
ACTH levels.
Another diagnostic method to diagnose adrenal tumors is cortisol saliva testing. In
this test, the amount of cortisol in the saliva at or near midnight is normally very
low. Multiple repeats of the test to confirm elevated cortisol levels can diagnose
Cushing s syndrome. Cushing s syndrome is excess cortisol levels, possibly due to
the body secreting too much
Four Perspectives Of Psychology Paper
When it comes to psychology it is described as the discipline that is concerned with
behavior and mental process (Wade Travris, 2017, p.3), while also how they are
affected by an organism s external and internal environment. Then there is the
scientific perspective also known as the scientific psychologyin, which is rather
based on research and empirical evidence, in which it is gathered by careful
observation, experimentation, and measurement (Wade Travris, 2017, p.3).
Pseudoscience, psychobabble, popular opinion, and plain old common sense all
relate to psychology topics in which scientific psychology challenges them with
psychology s methods and reliance on empirical evidence. Another example of how
psychology addresses topics from a scientific perspective is with critical thinking.
With critical thinking, one assesses claims and makes judgments that are based on
well supported reasons and evidence instead of emotions critical thinking is
fundamental to all science, including psychological science (Wade Travris, 2017,
p.7). Psychology is the scientific study of human feelings, behavior, and thought.
There are four major perspectives in psychology and those are biological, learning
perspective, cognitive, and social cultural perspective. Psychological scientists
typically use these four perspectives, because they each reflect a different question
about human behavior, how the mind works, and it allows them to explain why
people do what they do.
What Were The Economic Causes Of The American
Revolution
In real life, people get greedy. Real greedy; real fast. Britain was no exception and
the country fell into an abundance of debt. To pay its debt, Britain put on economic
acts towards the colonies. This caused colonists anger and indignation. But, these acts
were not the only reason for conflict. The rebellion from the colonist was a mix of
multiple problems that eventually piled up too high. The conflict between Great
Britain and the American colonies was deeply rooted in economics as well as
political controversies and differences. The conflict between Britain and her colonies
was mainly economic due to the acts that Great Britain put upon the colonists. Britain
loved the idea of mercantilism, the thought that a country s wealth should
History Of Ostrich Farms Have Become An Extended
Activity...
Introduction
Ostriches are one of the toughest and strongest birds on this planet. They can live in
all kinds of climates and easily adjust to them, whether they are tropical countries or
northern ones. The ostrich industry is considered as a multi processing business
producing a number of commodities as feathers, leather and meat (PITTAWAY et al.,
2015). Ostrich farms have become an extended activity throughout the world and
considered to be one of the most preferable agriculture project. Ostrich meat is a
wonderful , healthy red meat with all of the flavor and texture of beef ; it is rich in
protein and high in iron and lower in fat, calories and cholesterol than other meat
sources . On the other hand, ostrich feathers are used to clean fine machinery and
equipment as well as for aesthetics and in the fashion industry, furthermore tendons
of ostrich leg are used to replace torn tendons in human leg and a substance derived
from ostrich brain is being studied for the treatment of Alzheimer s disease and other
types of dementia (SHANAWANY, 1994).
Ostriches live mostly in desolate desert climates, so they have to be flexible in their
diet and eat almost anythings like plants, lizards, seeds, locusts and stones, these
make them susceptible to many infections including parasitic ones. The later seem
to be uncommon in ostrich all over the world ( DINGLE, 1996 ; HUCHZERMEYER,
1998) inspite of some of these infections may lead to the death of infected birds
(NEL, 1980).

Similarities Between Touching Spirit Bear And Touching...
I ve never committed a crime, but author Ben Mikaelsen made me feel as if I was
right there in the library waiting for my final judgement for beating a poor little
kid. The book Touching Spirit Bear and its sequel The Ghost of Spirit Bear are
both books written by novelist Ben Mikaelsen about two boys and their
intertwined life. The first book takes place when teen delinquent Cole Matthews
beats up a boy at school named Peter for telling on him. Peter s injury leads to a
permanent speech impediment and because of this Cole goes to jail. When Cole s
probation officer, Garvey, tells about a tribal version of punishment called Circle
Justice, which is where the two people involved in the crime must heal together,
and move forward from their quarrel, Cole jumps at the idea to get out of jail.
When this doesn t work they decide to send Cole to an Alaskan island, which Peter
is eventually sent to. Eventually they become friends and they get past their
problems. It is the next book where they face challenges of going back to school and
fitting in.
There are several parallels between the two books. One such parallel is that in both
books Peter and Cole experience some form of hardship. On example is that in
Touching Spirit Bear on pages 246 and 247, it says, When Cole refused to fight back,
Peter grew bolder. Again and again he struck Cole with his bare fists. Cole raised
his arms to try to ward off the blows, but he didn t fight back, nor did he run. This

The Battle Of The Crusades In The Song Of Roland
In the epic poem, The Song of Roland the tale depicts the Battle at Rencevaux in
which the protagonist is betrayed and serves as a martyr to justify the Crusades. The
Crusades were a medieval military expedition by the Roman Catholics to purge the
Muslims from the Holy Land. With this definition of the Crusades, one can conclude
that the Song of Rolandshould not be considered apart of the Crusades as the poem
s context is historically inaccurate, written long after the events, and lacks a
credible source. Instead, this depiction should just be considered as a folk tale that
was used to drive the crusaders to keep fighting. The story of heroism in this poem
was no doubt a motivational tool that inspired soldiers to persevere and uproot the
Muslims from the Holy Land. The Song of Roland dates back to early 12th century,
in the midst of the Crusades. The original battle was called the Battle of Roncevaux
Passwhich took place in 778 AD, long before the epic poem dates back to. For one
to even consider this poem as the first battle of the Crusades the poem would have
be written relatively soon after the battle. Some scholars speculate that the poem
was written around the time that the battle took place but there is no evidence to
support their theory as the only written copies date back between 1129 and 1165
AD. These dates place the written poem in the middle of the Crusades.
Furthermore, this strengthens the idea that the poem is not a accurate description
of what actually happened on that day. Instead, this epic poem was written for
another purpose, the purpose of inspiring the current knights of the glory and
honor that can be gained from this Holy War. With the date of the Song of Roland
being nearly four hundred years after the actual battle one could see the potential
problems with the details of the story. Having no previous records, experts aren t
sure whether the epic poem was changed on purpose, or if parts of it were forgotten.
Although the tale conveys a sense of heroism and pride, it there are many details
that are historically inaccurate. For example, in the Song of Roland , the author
describes the opposing forces as Saracens . This term Saracen is used by many
authors at the time

increase people s minds about his presence in the past and help influence them.
Unlike Gilgamesh, Psyche related to the feeling of wanting to be loved and have
someone to care about her. In Becker s story, he said that even in childhood days,
children feel the need to have a significance and unashamed about what he needs and

thoughts showed her demands for attention. She not only acted like a childish
person, but also a narcissist because Psyche wanted a variety of things from the
emotion love. As Becker concluded his story, he explained that there were different

Essay On The Growth Of Gold Nanoclusters
Abstract: In this article, a facile and rapid method was developed to synthesize
intensely photoluminescent catalytic gold nanoclusters (AuNCs) based on etching
small citrate capped gold nanoparticles using 4,6 dimethyl 2 pyridineselenol 3
caronitrile and 4 Methylquinolineselenol 3 carbonitrile as models for organoselenium
compounds. The size and the catalytic performance of the prepared fluorescent
nanoclusters were characterized using suitable Transmission ElectronMicroscope
(TEM), Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), Electrospray Ionization Mass

In top down techniques, clusters are synthesized from larger nanoparticles or bulk
metal. Etching of nanoparticles using ligands (as thiols) is one of the most top down
techniques can be used for the synthesis of metal clusters. Removing the surface
atoms or break the metal nanoparticles into smaller clusters by using the etching
capacity of such ligands will lead to synthesize stable quantum clusters. For example,
Habib et al. has used the etching of mercaptosuccinic acid protected gold
nanoparticles with excess glutathione to yield small photoluminescent gold clusters
either with 8 or 25 gold atoms [16]. Polyethylenimine as multivalent coordinating
polymers can also be used to etch preformed colloidal gold nanocrystals producing
highly fluorescent nanoclusters [17]. it is well confirmed that small noble metal
nanoclusters display excellent catalytic activities such as aerobic oxidation of
thiophenol [18], propene epoxidation[19], oxidation of styrene [20], p nitrophenol
reduction with NaBH4 [21] and the reduction of methylene blue with hydrazine [22].
Organoselenium compounds are of considerable interest due to their wide efficiency
and applicability with numerous therapeutic applications [23]. In addition, the
presence of a heterocyclic ring in these compounds upgrades their properties to a great

Jean Valjean And Fantine s Values
n every society around the world, individuals have values that are important to them,
whether they be cultural or otherwise. Some of them may include determination,
creativity, honesty, loyalty, and wisdom; these can have a considerable effect on one
s everyday life and the choices that they make. Similarly, Jean Valjean and Fantine
have values that affect the decisions that they make. In Les Miserables, Victor Hugo
uses various conflicts and characters to demonstrate the importance of religion,
compassion, and love in one s life.

Further into the novel, the blatant change in character is evident. When he becomes
the mayor, he helps people selflessly, and at his own expense (52). He even goes as
far as to risk his own life for Fauchevelant. Through this, the reader can see that Jean
Valjean has been changed by his newfound compassion for others; Hugo is trying to
emphasize the importance of compassion in everyday life.
In addition, Jean Valjean is changed by his love for Cosette. Before taking Cosette
in as his own, Jean Valjean is lost without purpose. Upon meeting her, he thinks that
he is taking her in as a favor to the child s late mother, but he soon grows to love her
as if she is his own child; he begins to value her life more than he does his own.
After being chased yet again by Javert, Jean Valjean looks to Cosette to calm him
down. It reads, Little by little, as he beheld her, he grew calm, and regained
possession of his clearness of mind (201). Through this, the reader recognizes that
Jean Valjean cares deeply for Cosette. He is the only father whom Cosette has ever
known, and he sees himself as her true father because of his unquestionable love.
Similarly, ten years later, Jean Valjean s love is still as evident as ever when he is on
his deathbed. He says, I love you dearly. Oh! It is good to die so! ... You will weep
for me a little, will you not? Not too much. I do not wish you any
Analysis Of Orcagna And The Coronation Of The Virgin
The painting has some bright colors on the clothes of the people. The colors of the
clothes are mostly pink, blue or red. The background of the entire piece is gold as
well as the frame it is in. The frame is very detailed in the spirals and branching off
decorative pieces, it looks like the opening to a cathedral. The people are drawn
out very well, 22 people in the entire painting. The painting is a 2D painting as
well. The lines on the clothing make it look realistic as well as the facial
expressions of those in the paintings. The lighting is very bright making it look
almost regal. The entire background of the painting is entirely gold. There are also
gold highlights in the shape of circles circling everyone s heads in the painting.
The painting itself is not too big, not more than 1 2 feet in length and 3 feet in
height with the frame included. In the picture there are a lot of objects, there are

Bibles, a cross, a crown, a huge cathedral like stage that Mary and Jesus sit upon,

  • 1. Thomas Jefferson Essay Crafting an essay on the topic of Thomas Jefferson can be both intriguing and challenging. On one hand, Thomas Jefferson is a pivotal figure in American history, known for his multifaceted roles as a Founding Father, the principal author of the Declaration of Independence, and the third President of the United States. His contributions to the shaping of the nation, his philosophical outlook, and his complex legacy provide a rich tapestry for exploration. However, the difficulty lies in navigating the vast amount of information available on Thomas Jefferson. The need to sift through historical documents, analyze different perspectives on his actions and beliefs, and synthesize a coherent and well-argued essay can be daunting. Furthermore, addressing the controversies surrounding Jefferson, such as his views on slavery and his relationship with Sally Hemings, requires a nuanced and sensitive approach. Another challenge is maintaining focus and relevance within the essay. Thomas Jefferson's life spans a broad range of topics, from politics and governance to philosophy, architecture, and science. Striking a balance between depth and breadth while staying on topic is crucial for a successful essay. Moreover, capturing the essence of Thomas Jefferson's character and impact on the formation of the United States requires a thoughtful and analytical writing style. • 2. She Endured In William Faulkner s The Sound And The Fury She Endured The characters in The Sound and the Fury, by William Faulkner, are psychologically complex, haunted, prone to spells of vanity and desires, and ultimately tragic. Always one to play the role of the noble Southern gentleman, Quentin Compson III is passionate and neurotic, consumed with the ideal Southern values of chivalry and honor. Quentin is tormented by his father s nihilistic philosophy and degradation of women and African Americans, as Jason Compson III provides no moral compass to steer Quentin away from the storms of his chaotic thoughts. Rational, cold, and calculating, Jason Compson IV is a cruel and racist man who will stop at nothing to ensure financial success. Caddy Compson, unlike her hypochondriac Mother,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To Dilsey, Benjy is innocent and in need of protection. Besides Caddy, the Gibsons are Benjy s true caretakers and family. Dilsey s actions prove that she is a devoted mother figure to the idiot , Benjy. Dilsey willingly employs her son and grandson, T.P and Luster, respectively, to be Benjy s personal caretakers. Furthermore, on Benjy s birthday, Dilsey purchases the cake with her own money. Dilsey lights the candles on the cake and tells Luster and Benjy to eat it before Jason sees and makes a fuss about an expense he has not paid for. Dilsey is more familiar with Benjy s tendencies than anyone else, even Caddy. She is the only one who knows that Benjy will break into a state of hysteria if the left turn is taken at the monument of the Confederate soldier at the end of the square. She instructs Luster to take the right turn, since she knows that it s a symbolic sense of order and security for Benjy. Associations define Benjy s world. Furthermore, Benjy knows what time is, since he feels Caddy s loss when he no longer smells trees . But, being mute and not possessing will nor deliberation, Benjy is unable to act, and helpless before the intrusions of the past. The past defines order and sequence in Benjy s consciousness, and when the pattern is broken the loss is unbearable. After Caddy s departure, Benjy unintentionally scares away a girl after he

  • 4. Informative Speech On Bees Sergei Danielian Professor Bates COMM M01 16 October 2017 Bees General Purpose: To inform. Specific Purpose: To inform the audience how and why bees are dying. Central Idea: Now it s important to recognize that bees are not just a meme, but that if bees do die out, humanity could be severely affected. INTRODUCTION: Attention Getter: Bees are dying at an alarming rate and we just don t know why! Introduction to Topic: Actually, contrary to that meme, we actually do know why, and I will be telling you why. Relevance: According to an article done by the USDA, The number of honey bee hives in the U.S has decreased from 6 million in the 1940s to 2.5 million in 2017 ( Being Serious about Saving Bees ). Now, if all the bees start to die, then thousands of plants will also die and certain beloved foods will also die. Thesis: Now it s important to recognize that bees are not just a meme, but that if bees do die out, humanity could be severely affected. Preview: The demise of bees is mainly attributed to none other than parasites and pesticides. Body: Transition Statement: Now let us take a look at one of the factors why bees are dying. 1: Parasites, bees are mainly dying due to life threatening parasites. 1A: There is the parasite called the varroa destructor, also known as the vampire mite since it feeds by drinking on the blood of bees. • 5. The Effect Of Switching Frequency On Switching Fig. 10 compares the switching instances between (i) CSFSVPWM and VSFSVPWM, and (ii) CSFDPWM2 and VSFDPWM2. It also shows the shape of the switching frequency variation for each sector. The following can be noted: The VSFSVPWM reduces 3 switching instances per cycle compared to CSFSVPWM, a 13.6 % reduction. The VSFDPWM reduces 2 switching instance per cycle compared to CSFDPWM, a 12.5% reduction. Hence, the proposed variable switching frequency PWM reduces the switching instances within a fundamental cycle by lowering the effective switching frequency, while maintaining the output current ripple within a pre defined range. To study the impact of VSFPWM on switching loss reduction over the entire modulation index range, the simulations were carried out different speeds (modulation indices) for a constant load torque. The need for EBP is in order to improve service procedures and provide reliable evidence to inform health practitioners and inform clinical decision making EBP promotes the application of research evidence as a basis on which to make health care decisions Evidence based practice (EBP) is to demonstrate the best practice, which has been supported, with a valid and clear rationale to support it. Whilst using (EBP), this also acknowledges the patient/clients best interest. (EBP) is the conscientious, explicit and judicious use of current best evidence in making decisions about the care of individual patient/clients (Sackett et al, 1996). In this definition Sackett facilitates an understanding between (EBP) and decisions we make in everyday practice. This demonstrates the strong connection between both aspects. Here, Sackett emphasises the importance of decisions we make as healthcare professionals, and how clearly they should be stated. This shows that decisions are well thought out, which demonstrates that the use of evidence is used sensibly and carefully, which means that any care or support we deliver must be evidence based. It shows that Sackett understands that if care or support we provide has a rationale, then this enables us to deliver it with a meaningful purpose. In adherence to the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) we as healthcare

In the case that scientists do find a Mammoth that is in absolutely pristine condition and has intact DNA in the nucleus that is prime for the somatic cloning process, the chances that scientists will end up with a baby Mammoth are still slim. An article written by Alasdair Wilkins in 2011 stated that despite technology becoming more advanced cloning still remains a frustratingly inexact process, one where a single successful fertilisation out of hundreds of failed attempts would be considered a massive achievement (Wilkins, 2011). Cloning is still an entirely experimental technology, and that any successful attempt should be considered purely a matter of chance and luck (Wilkins, 2011). In support of this, an article from the University of Utah (2015) stated that cloning animals through somatic cloning nuclear transfer is simply inefficient, with success rates ranging from 0.1% to 3% (University of Utah, 2015). Meaning for every 1000 attempts, only one to thirty clones are made (University of Utah, 2015). Couple with the fact that the Mammoth DNA could be over 40,000 years old, there is little DNA available and there is a surrogate mother, the success rate drops to around 0.01% (University of Utah, 2015). The somatic cloning process has such a low success rate because of two major things that can go wrong. First,

This link, she argues, comes from taking theories and methods from one field and applying them to the other in order to create a more indepth analysis of both. Bennett states in her introduction that this text ...builds steadily from problem to solution to elaboration, and though this statement holds, due to the brevity of this book, many aspects of this text are not well defined, explored, or analyzed (4 5). Throughout this text, Bennett uses feminist language, and indeed the word feminism without properly defining the term. It is true that this book is aimed at an audience that is likely to known these terms. Yet, by not giving a definition Bennett opens the floor for radically different interpretations based upon where the reader s definition falls on the spectrum, from hating men and wanting female superiority to wanting equality and justice for all regardless of sex, that defines the various schools of feminism. Schreiber concludes by describing a struggle between cooperative federalism and creative federalism. He sees these two models of federalism in competition with one another on how power will be distributed between the three levels of government. This is best described by Russell Hanson, in Governing Partners, as competitive federalism , which is the idea that the three levels of government must compete for power in a zero sum game. Four Perspectives Of Psychology Paper When it comes to psychology it is described as the discipline that is concerned with behavior and mental process (Wade Travris, 2017, p.3), while also how they are affected by an organism s external and internal environment. Then there is the scientific perspective also known as the scientific psychologyin, which is rather based on research and empirical evidence, in which it is gathered by careful observation, experimentation, and measurement (Wade Travris, 2017, p.3). Pseudoscience, psychobabble, popular opinion, and plain old common sense all relate to psychology topics in which scientific psychology challenges them with psychology s methods and reliance on empirical evidence. Another example of how psychology addresses topics from a scientific perspective is with critical thinking. With critical thinking, one assesses claims and makes judgments that are based on well supported reasons and evidence instead of emotions critical thinking is fundamental to all science, including psychological science (Wade Travris, 2017, p.7). Psychology is the scientific study of human feelings, behavior, and thought. There are four major perspectives in psychology and those are biological, learning perspective, cognitive, and social cultural perspective. Psychological scientists typically use these four perspectives, because they each reflect a different question about human behavior, how the mind works, and it allows them to explain why people do what they do.
  • 30. What Were The Economic Causes Of The American Revolution In real life, people get greedy. Real greedy; real fast. Britain was no exception and the country fell into an abundance of debt. To pay its debt, Britain put on economic acts towards the colonies. This caused colonists anger and indignation. But, these acts were not the only reason for conflict. The rebellion from the colonist was a mix of multiple problems that eventually piled up too high. The conflict between Great Britain and the American colonies was deeply rooted in economics as well as political controversies and differences. The conflict between Britain and her colonies was mainly economic due to the acts that Great Britain put upon the colonists. Britain loved the idea of mercantilism, the thought that a country s wealth should

They can live in all kinds of climates and easily adjust to them, whether they are tropical countries or northern ones. The ostrich industry is considered as a multi processing business producing a number of commodities as feathers, leather and meat (PITTAWAY et al., 2015). Ostrich farms have become an extended activity throughout the world and considered to be one of the most preferable agriculture project. Ostrich meat is a wonderful , healthy red meat with all of the flavor and texture of beef ; it is rich in protein and high in iron and lower in fat, calories and cholesterol than other meat sources . On the other hand, ostrich feathers are used to clean fine machinery and equipment as well as for aesthetics and in the fashion industry, furthermore tendons of ostrich leg are used to replace torn tendons in human leg and a substance derived from ostrich brain is being studied for the treatment of Alzheimer s disease and other types of dementia (SHANAWANY, 1994). Ostriches live mostly in desolate desert climates, so they have to be flexible in their diet and eat almost anythings like plants, lizards, seeds, locusts and stones, these make them susceptible to many infections including parasitic ones. The later seem to be uncommon in ostrich all over the world ( DINGLE, 1996 ; HUCHZERMEYER, 1998) inspite of some of these infections may lead to the death of infected birds (NEL, 1980).

The Three Mistakes of My Life is a little superior description of the novel as an art form as it has a plot coping with the industrial efforts of Govind accompanied by the trio of Indian obsessions Cricket, religion and business. The narrative has a story as well told in the pure Bollywood style, speedy and racy as a bitter sweet small town comedy set in the city of Ahmadabad. By this book, once more, the writer longs for mass appeal. He exploits the interest of a common Indian in Cricket by infusing it as one of the most significant mechanism of the novel. The mass of talk about the novels of Chetan Bhagat lessens successively. The Three Mistakes of My Life is the third novel written by Chetan Bhagat. The book was published in month of May 2008. I ve never committed a crime, but author Ben Mikaelsen made me feel as if I was right there in the library waiting for my final judgement for beating a poor little kid. The book Touching Spirit Bear and its sequel The Ghost of Spirit Bear are both books written by novelist Ben Mikaelsen about two boys and their intertwined life. The first book takes place when teen delinquent Cole Matthews beats up a boy at school named Peter for telling on him. Peter s injury leads to a permanent speech impediment and because of this Cole goes to jail. When Cole s probation officer, Garvey, tells about a tribal version of punishment called Circle Justice, which is where the two people involved in the crime must heal together, and move forward from their quarrel, Cole jumps at the idea to get out of jail. When this doesn t work they decide to send Cole to an Alaskan island, which Peter is eventually sent to. Eventually they become friends and they get past their problems. It is the next book where they face challenges of going back to school and fitting in. There are several parallels between the two books. One such parallel is that in both books Peter and Cole experience some form of hardship. On example is that in Touching Spirit Bear on pages 246 and 247, it says, When Cole refused to fight back, Peter grew bolder. Again and again he struck Cole with his bare fists. Cole raised his arms to try to ward off the blows, but he didn t fight back, nor did he run. This only made

  • 36. The Battle Of The Crusades In The Song Of Roland In the epic poem, The Song of Roland the tale depicts the Battle at Rencevaux in which the protagonist is betrayed and serves as a martyr to justify the Crusades. The Crusades were a medieval military expedition by the Roman Catholics to purge the Muslims from the Holy Land. With this definition of the Crusades, one can conclude that the Song of Rolandshould not be considered apart of the Crusades as the poem s context is historically inaccurate, written long after the events, and lacks a credible source. Instead, this depiction should just be considered as a folk tale that was used to drive the crusaders to keep fighting. The story of heroism in this poem was no doubt a motivational tool that inspired soldiers to persevere and uproot the Muslims from the Holy Land. The Song of Roland dates back to early 12th century, in the midst of the Crusades. The original battle was called the Battle of Roncevaux Passwhich took place in 778 AD, long before the epic poem dates back to. For one to even consider this poem as the first battle of the Crusades the poem would have be written relatively soon after the battle. Some scholars speculate that the poem was written around the time that the battle took place but there is no evidence to support their theory as the only written copies date back between 1129 and 1165 AD. These dates place the written poem in the middle of the Crusades. Furthermore, this strengthens the idea that the poem is not a accurate description of what actually happened on that day. Instead, this epic poem was written for another purpose, the purpose of inspiring the current knights of the glory and honor that can be gained from this Holy War. With the date of the Song of Roland being nearly four hundred years after the actual battle one could see the potential problems with the details of the story. Having no previous records, experts aren t sure whether the epic poem was changed on purpose, or if parts of it were forgotten. Although the tale conveys a sense of heroism and pride, it there are many details that are historically inaccurate. For example, in the Song of Roland , the author describes the opposing forces as Saracens . This term Saracen is used by many authors at the time

Essay On The Growth Of Gold Nanoclusters Abstract: In this article, a facile and rapid method was developed to synthesize intensely photoluminescent catalytic gold nanoclusters (AuNCs) based on etching small citrate capped gold nanoparticles using 4,6 dimethyl 2 pyridineselenol 3 caronitrile and 4 Methylquinolineselenol 3 carbonitrile as models for organoselenium compounds. The size and the catalytic performance of the prepared fluorescent nanoclusters were characterized using suitable Transmission ElectronMicroscope (TEM), Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), Electrospray Ionization Mass Spectrometry (ESI MS) and photoluminescence techniques. It is shown that Au clusters with an average diameter of gold core 0.78 В± 0.41 nm (in the range of 5 9 atoms), have a catalytic role in the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In top down techniques, clusters are synthesized from larger nanoparticles or bulk metal. Etching of nanoparticles using ligands (as thiols) is one of the most top down techniques can be used for the synthesis of metal clusters. Removing the surface atoms or break the metal nanoparticles into smaller clusters by using the etching capacity of such ligands will lead to synthesize stable quantum clusters. For example, Habib et al. has used the etching of mercaptosuccinic acid protected gold nanoparticles with excess glutathione to yield small photoluminescent gold clusters either with 8 or 25 gold atoms [16]. Polyethylenimine as multivalent coordinating polymers can also be used to etch preformed colloidal gold nanocrystals producing highly fluorescent nanoclusters [17]. it is well confirmed that small noble metal nanoclusters display excellent catalytic activities such as aerobic oxidation of thiophenol [18], propene epoxidation[19], oxidation of styrene [20], p nitrophenol reduction with NaBH4 [21] and the reduction of methylene blue with hydrazine [22]. Organoselenium compounds are of considerable interest due to their wide efficiency and applicability with numerous therapeutic applications [23]. In addition, the presence of a heterocyclic ring in these compounds upgrades their properties to a great
