The Similarities Between Earthworm And Crayfish
In my comparative anatomy class I was able to distinguish the difference and the
similarities between a earthworm, crayfish, and a chordate. The earthworm and the
crayfish are both divided into parts. The earthworm is divided internally and
externally into defined segments. These segments may also be divided as well. The
crayfish is divided into two main parts. One of the parts that they are divided into is
called the cephalothorax which consists of the head region and the thoracic region.
The second part is called the abdomen. The abdomen consists of six clearly divided
segments. The chordate is not divided into parts. They all belong to the animal
kingdom. The crayfish differs from the earthwormand the chordate because it has a
hard exoskeleton that covers its body.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They all have different ways of how they taste their food. The crayfish taste its
food by two ways which is antennules and the long antennae. The only difference
between the two is that the antennules helps with balance, touch, and taste, and the
long antennae are organs for touch, taste, and smell. The chrodate taste its food by
the pharynx. They are able to do this because the pharynx is consisted of 100
pharyngeal slits that are called gill slits . These gill slits are what is used to strain
food particles out of the water. The earthworm obtains its food by extending its body
from surfaces and opening a small tunnel which it makes by eating its way through
the soil. So basically this is saying that earthworms eat
A Comparison of Two Murderers
In the Edgar Allan Poe stories The Cask of Amontillado and The Tell Tale Heart the
most prominent and important themes that are used are death, logic, and irony. The
characters of the narrator and Montresor in these stories are both coldblooded
murders that kill for selfish, and inane reasons who firmly believe that their actions
are justified even though their rationalizations only make sense in their own minds.
They both try to convince their audience that they are completely sane by giving their
explanations about why they did what they did as well as their motives for killing
their victims. In admitting how they murdered victims, who appear to be innocent to
everyone besides them, they only succeed in proving their insanity. The... Show more

He knows that logically the only way lure Fortunado into the catacombs
successfully is to make him feel safe and then betray him at the last moment. When
he lures Fortunado into the catacombs he gives him many opportunities to get out
of it but he does not suspect Montresor of anything so he continues to trust him.
There is also a considerable amount of irony in both of the stories. The best
example is when they try to convince the audience that they are completely sane
and that their actions are justified. The narrator tirelessly attempts to convince
whoever he is telling his story to that he is perfectly sane while recounting how he
viciously murdered an old man he claimed to love, chopped up his body, and hid
him in the floorboards all because he didn t like his vulture eye. While he believes
that he is going to persuade his audience that he was in his right mind, all he is
doing his backing up the assumption that he is mentally ill and is in no way sane.
Montresor does not try as hard to make his listeners believe in his sanity. His
victim, Fortunado, as a character is also a good example of irony. His name,
which translates to lucky , proves to be extremely ironic when he is the one that
ends up being killed. He is given many hints by Montresor as to what will happen to
him as well as many opportunities to turn back but his ego and competitiveness with
his rival Luchresi ends up sealing his fate. He says in

4.3.Primary Study Analysis
The methods of analysis are based on Kvale, Brinkmann, and Plas s (1996) theory.
There are five principal approaches of analysis, including condensation,
categorisation, and narrative, interpretation, and ad hoc. The reviewing method for
each question is going to be selected in line with the objectives of the questions.
4.3.1.Brand Awareness
Among the ten interviewees (see Table 4 1), merely one person can recall her
memory of a Creative Expo Taiwan 2016 s sponsor, Taiyen Culture Creative. The
other nine people have the difficulty in recollecting the memory of the sponsors.
Therefore, they require the assistance of the researcher to remind them of the
brand names of the sponsors. The issue of little recognition can affect the profit of
the sponsors and the brand image enhancement negatively based on the theory of
Aaker (1991). Furthermore, based on Aaker s (1991) theory, the reason of the
unawareness of Creative Expo Taiwan 2016 sponsors might be the failure of letting
the public realise the brands products and services. The occasion of unfamiliarity
and unrecognition happened to almost every interviewees except Interviewee J
because of her extended work experience and higher economic situation (see Table 4

people can recognise the brand name of BMW without difficulty, and knowing their
products and services clearly (See Table 4 2). Among the other four
Arguments Against GMO Babies
And this is how it begins genetic modification of the human race under the guise of

This is how deception always begins.

Childhood Trauma
Traumatic experiences are a reality in this world, a reality most of the world want to
turn their eyes away from and act as if it does not exist; unfortunately, victims of
childhood trauma aren t so lucky. Childhood trauma, massively increases health risk
while lowering life expectancy, however, many forms of abuse remain undocumented.
Neglect along with emotional, physical, and sexual abuse continue to haunt victims
throughout life. Exposure to trauma permanently changes the bodies physiology
which in return may cause anxiety, distress, dependency, insomnia, and post

correlation with an increase of awareness. Emotional abuse statically is
An Analysis Of Ramayana By William Buck
Ramayana, translated by William Buck, is an ancient Indian epic telling the story of a
prince named Rama who fights against his adversary, Ravana. Although there are
many important female characters throughout the book, they are often seen as
subordinate to their male counterparts where intelligence and strength are concerned.
One character who proves this stereotype wrong is Sita, Ramas wife, who often
shows that she has the capacity of being just as powerful as the men of the story. By
being more mindful than most people around her, Sita defies the expectations that
many characters have placed on her. Sita lets the reader see another side of women s
power and shows us the strength that women could have. The reason that Sita proves
to be powerful is that she seems to have an understanding of the deeper meaning of
her life; precisely the quality that men don t expect her to have.
Many men in the epic dismiss women s abilities, or the possibility that they could be
equals. Often, they write women off as not being intelligent. When Vali, the monkey
king s brother, tells his wife, Tara, that the only reason to consult a woman is to find
out what not to do (Buck 196), implying that women cannot understand life or have
authority. Vali completely ignores the validity of Tara s argument because he
perceives her, and all women, to be less intelligent than he. Vali s opinion in this
scene speaks to the larger view of women s intellect throughout this epic. Women are

Informative Speech On Mental Block
Topic: Mental Block
Specific Purpose: To inform my audience about the way to overcome mental block.
Central Idea : Mental block can be overcome by L.O.V.E which is L is for limit your
association with negative people, O is for Once more, V is for visualization, and E is
for enthusiasm.
1.Introduction
a.Mental is one of the key of success.
b.A human with stronger mentality will dare to do anything, not afraid to try and
make a failure as a challenge that must be faced with great enthusiasm.
c.Mental block is an inability to recall some specific thing or perform some mental
action.
d.People, who have mental blocks, will feel depressed, fearful, insecure and nervous

d.E for enthusiasm.
You must loveyour work and be confidence in everything that you do.
If you did not love what you do, you will not feel excited to do your work. So there
is no existence of enthusiasm.
One of the ways to get your enthusiasm is from reading an inspirational book.
Reading helps your brain to develop new ideas and perspectives on various topics.
If you are caught up in a mental block takes time to just read something, even if it s
completely random to create inspiration on your emotion.
Once you got an inspiration, you will be enthusiastic to do your work and it will
help to overcome mental block because you love what you do.
3.Conclusion.
a.Today I have explained to you about the ways to overcome mental block by using
L.O.V.E.
b.Toss out those blocks! Toss out the bad and let in the good.
c.So, do feel good about yourself and change your way of thoughts.
d.You deserve to live in the world with your own ways as long as your ways are the

Abstract This paper is intended to explain my nutritional endeavor for the past three
days. I will be providing different aspects of my nutritional needs and an in depth
analysis on how proteins fats carbohydrates and fiber take part in an everyday diet
and what are these functions. This is intended to broaden my views of a healthy
lifestyle, and how to achieve it through a variety of food groups. In this essay the
resources utilized where provided by the educational institute with the purpose of

I had consumed a vast quantity of these nutrients during my three day period.
Keeping in range your micronutrient is very important, the range provides a guide to
a well balanced nutrition in which you should not exceed the recommended ratios in
order not to create excess energy in thus converting to fat. The lack of micronutrients
is also important to keep in mind. Lack of these nutrients can cause malnutrition that
can lead to disease complexity disorder and long term damage to your organs.
If you constantly eat too little protein you will start to lose muscle complexity due
to that proteins are the building blocks of muscle. If you deprive yourself of
proteins and there is a lack of energy your body will start taking energy from your
muscles. If you consume too little carbohydrates you re depriving yourself of
necessary nutrients in whole grain foods and vegetables, some of the consequences
are digestive difficulties, decreased energy and heart disease.
When you eat too few lipids sources in your diet, you may not get enough essential
fatty acids, which could cause problems with your hair, skin, immune system and
vision. Eating too little fat may also lower your blood levels of HDL, or good
cholesterol, raising your risk of cardiovascular problems and stroke (ADA,
2011).My fiber intake did not reach the one hundred percent that is recommended to

Baby Boomers Argumentative Analysis
While they will increasingly care more about how they live than how they look,
women now ages 37 through 57 will likely continue to consume apparel with
gusto, fortified by their having the most disposable income of any U.S. generation
ever and assets that already account for roughly half of Americans wealth,
marketing sources projected. Too, generation expert Ken Dychtwald has calculated
Boomers currently ages 40 through 59 will inherit more than $ 10 trillion, further
boosting the spending clout of the cohort with the most economic power in the
U.S. Roughly 25 percent of Boomers, or 20 million of the generation s 80 million
members, are expected to possess what life stage expert Geoff Meredith terms an
age accepting mentality by 2008. This is anticipated to spur the rise of more
realistic marketing images aimed at the generation, which continues to be
overlooked in fashion ad campaigns that cater mostly to young shoppers. Indeed, he

Evidence of such changing attitudes is already surfacing, he said, in the continued
appeal of actors such as Harrison Ford and Sylvester Stallone, cast as action heroes
much as they had been 20 years ago, and in the enduring fashion influence of
actresses such as Diane Keaton and Candice Bergen. Diane Keaton is a [Boomer]
cohort icon and will influence fashion forever, Meredith added. Marketing
executives such as Jill Glover, president of Glover Group, whose clients include
Eileen Fisher a brand that features multigenerational models in its ads anticipate the
rise of realistic ad imagery that will be more reflective of how Boomers will reshape
the way people experience mature life
Greenhouse Gas Emissions And Climate Change
Greenhouse Gas Emissions Resulting in Climate Change
The Sun is responsible for all of the energy that enters the Earth s atmosphere. The
Earth s energy is in balance when Earth emits the same amount of energy as it
absorbs (Schneider, 1987). But today, the Earth is absorbing more energy than is
what is being released due to increases in greenhouse gases in the Earth s
atmosphere (Herbert, 2007). Out of the total energy entering the Earth s
atmosphere, as seen in Figure 1, only 30% is being reflected back into space due
the Earth s albedo (Schneider, 1987). The other 70% of this energy is being
absorbed by the Earth s surface and atmosphere (Schneider, 1987). Here we are
going to discuss how increasing greenhouse gas concentrations leads to climate
change, some consequences that come with climate change and what can be done
about it.
The Earth has been known to go through various natural warming and cooling
periods throughout history. During warmer interglacial periods, CO2 levels are
higher and during cooler glacial periods, CO2 levels are lower (Monnin, 2004). This
is because the heating and cooling of Earth s surface can cause significant changes in
greenhouse gas concentrations (Monnin, 2004). These changes often act as a positive
feedback, intensifying the existing temperature changes (Monnin, 2004). For
example, it was slightly warmer during the Holocene Climatic Optimum about 5,000
6,000 years ago and was slightly cooler during the Little Ice Age from about 1600 AD

Famous Places #24
In the Arthurian Legend, there are four main places that played key roles in King
Arthur s majestic life. The famous places that are linked to King Arthur s life are the
Tintagel Castle, Battle of Mt. Badon, Battle of Camlann, and Glastonbury. These four
places are important because they show where King Arthur started in his life and
where he ended his life. There are also many sources that tell what happened at these
places, but it is up to the reader to decide which one to read or believe.

Glastonbury is a small rural town located in Somerset, England. However, before
this became a town, Glastonbury was almost an island with wetlands surrounding
it. Over the years it has been said that King Arthur was buried here and finished his
life at Glastonbury. Since Glastonbury was very close to being a small island at
once, it is highly possible and most likely that a boat brought King Arthur to
Glastonbury where possible medical attention was available after being severely
wounded from his nephew in the Battle of Camlann. After dying from his wounds,
Arthur was said to be buried on the south side of the cemetery, right in the middle
of two large stone pyramids. Eventually, a man named Henry II, the King of
England at that time had information about the cemetery and asked the Abbot to
dig within the site of the cemetery . Around 1191, a large wooden coffin was
discovered and right beneath the coffin, a white lead cross that read Hic jacet
sepultus inclitus rex Arturius in insula Avalonia. If translated into english, it would
say Here lies King Arthur buried in Avalon. In the coffin two intact bodies were
found inside it. One was King Arthur and the other was his wife, Guinevere.
Unfortunately, Henry did not see these bodies due to his health. After the bones
were later discovered, they were soon placed into a new tomb and moved to the
South Transept of the site. In 1278 King Edward I and Queen Eleanor
Jerome Bus Driver Article Review
For my local current event news review, I read an article titled Jerome Bus Driver
Fired after Incident in Facebook Video . I found this article on the KTVB website.
It was written by author Dean Johnson and published at 10:13 PM on September
3rd, 2016. The article describes the reasoning for the recent firing of Mary Black, a
Northside Bus Company bus driver in Jerome, Idaho. The issue that this article
describes would be most closely related to the subject of culture. On Saturday,
September 3rd, the Northside Bus Company in Jerome, ID confirmed to KTVB
that bus driver, Mary Black, had been fired from their company. Black was fired
after a video posted on Facebook displayed a confrontation between Black and a
student on the bus. The student involved was eighth grader, Miguel Martinez. Black
suspected Martinez of throwing a water bottle on the bus. As punishment, Black
tried to take Martinez phone away, but, when unable to accomplish that, she decided
to pour the water from the thrown water bottle onto Martinez. Black also demanded
that Martinez only speak to her in English, not his native tongue of Spanish. Black
can be heard on video saying, I don t understand Spanish. I m not going to learn it. I
live in America and it s an English speaking country. So if you want to... Show more

Black s racist comments caught on video seem to portray Idaho as a state that is
not very accepting of cultural diversity. Considering the fact that many people
already find Idaho to be lacking in diversity, this incident certainly does not help our
reputation. From this event, those in Idaho and beyond should learn to be more
accepting of people who speak different languages or practice different cultures than
we are used to. Everyone deserves to be treated equally, and hopefully the outcome
of this incident Black being fired can make more people realize
Reasons I Chose Air Traffic Controller
Reason I Chose Air Traffic Controller
I chose to do my paper on being a Air Traffic Controller, and what Air Traffic Control
because it seems like a job in aviation that I would be interested in. The pay is good
and overall it seems like a good job and field to go into.
Air Traffic Controller
Air traffic controllers direct the movement of air traffic, to make sure that aircraft
stay safe distances apart. Air traffic controllers have many duties such as, issuing
landing and takeoff instructions to pilots, controlling ground traffic, help directing
the movement of aircraft in air and on the ground, and etc. Air traffic controllers
work in control towers, approach control buildings, or en route centers. Some are
located at airports and others are not. Air traffic controllers with 20 years of
experience are able to retire at age 50. Controllers must retire at age 56. Most air
traffic controllers work full time. The median annual wage for air traffic controllers is
$122,530.
To become an air traffic controller, you must be a U.S. citizen, pass medical and
background checks, get a good score on the Federal Aviation Administration pre
employment test, complete a training course at the FAA Academy, pass a physical
exam each year and a job performance exam twice per year and pass drug screenings.
Air traffic controllers must hold an Air Traffic ControlTower Operator Certificate or
be qualified. They must be at least 18 years old, speak English, and comply with all

Allister Harrison Alternate Ending
It was a bright, beautiful, morning when Isadora Harrison was awoken by her
maid, a young woman by the name Taria Saviour. Isadora was never fond of
waking up early, but her husband, Allister Harrison, had always been an early riser
and decided at the start of their marriage that Isadore shouldn t be so lazy and should

In another wing of the house, Allister impatiently awaited his wife s arrival. He had
important news to discuss with her regarding her job, and had to leave soon.
Isa! You look beautiful as always. Allister says, kissing Isadora on the cheek when
she finally enters the dining room.
Thank you honey, She says with a smile, sitting down opposite her husband at their
small breakfast table. What s all this? she inquired, gesturing to the paperwork sitting
in front of Allister.
Ah yes, he exclaims, I ve decided that you re going to quit your job. Allister states
firmly, not leaving much room for opposition. He slides the papers over to Isadore,
highlighting where she must sign. Isadora tilts her head to the side, puzzled.
Why? she asks, scanning the papers. I thought you wanted me to keep busy, it was
you that suggested this job.

Statue Of Hercules Greek Art Influence
The Greek culture and artistic influence traveled deeper than any other on the Roman
Empire. Within a remarkably brief period, Greek artists developed focused and
distinctive ideals of human beauty and architectural design that continues to be a
profound influence today. Greek art was self aware, and self confident, developing a
concept of human supremacy and responsibility that required a new visual
expression. This is in stark contrast to ancient Egypt, where permanence and
continuity maintained stable artistic conventions for nearly 3000 years. By the end of
the first century BCE, the influence of Greek painting, sculpture, and architecture had
spread to communities of emerging Roman Empire. Roman patrons and artists
maintained Greek art and customs into Early Christian and Byzantine times. So

Why tell the truth when a lie will ensure happiness? Happiness causes people to
never have a reason to rebel against authority which leads to a more productive and

subjects of the World State only learn what the World State wants them to learn.

The Development of Writing Materials From the Sumerian and Egyptian Times
Today, writing materials are easy to come by and something humans tend to take for
granted. There was, however, a time that paper did not exist. According to the book
Scribes, Script and Books written by Leila Avrin:
Today we think of a book as a gathering of paper pages bound together with a
protective cover. For the books of older, partially lost civilizations, we must expand
our imagination to include all kinds of writing instruments and bookmaking
materials we would not have considered otherwise, such as stone, metal, trees
(wood, bark, bamboo, and palm leaves), glass, ivory, clay, wax, fabric, and the bones
and skins of animal. (64)
The question is, how did humankind evolve from the point that thoughts, events, and
numbers could not be conveniently recorded to where humankind is now with
written materials readily available? This paper will defend the statement that the

Compared to the Sumerian Empire, the Egyptians were more civilized and had the
time and resources available to focus on the further development of literature. In the
book, A History of Writing edited by Ann Marie Christin, Christin confirms, writing
was used in everyday life (correspondence, administrative, legal documents) and in
ideological and religious writing on temples, royal monuments, and funerary
monuments, as well as in autobiography documents, religious rites, and for magical
spells (46). The Egyptian people incorporated writing into their work. Masonry
workers carved artful inscriptions into arches and pillars. Morticians inscripted
sacred rites onto coffins. Agricultural workers kept detailed records of flood dates,
seed treatment, yields, and profits on scrolls of papyrus. Middle class Egyptians
started to make reading and writing the new social standard continually innovating

Susan B. Anthony And Elizabeth Cady Stanton
Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton were considered the founding
Mothers of women s rights. They had a very close relationship. The two of them

Text one really shows what happens at the convention. At the convention they made
twelve resolutions. The third resolution states, that woman is man s equal was
intended to be so by the Creator, and the highest good of the race demands that she be
recognized as such. The ninth resolution called for women to have a vote. An
abolitionist named Lucretia Mott feared that asking for the vote would make the
meeting look ridiculous.
Both stories show how the two women started the movement. It started in Seneca Fall
in a small town in upstate New York. Five women came together
Frank Tannenbaum s Theory Of The Labeling Theory
Once a person is labelled as a deviant, it is hard to remove that label. The Labeling
Theory basically says that no behavior is deeply rooted on its own. It is society s
reaction to the behavior that makes the act deviant or not. Labeling is to give
someone or something to a category and is usually given mistakenly. The people
who usually doing the labeling have statues, numbers, power and authority. People
with low status, power and authority are the ones that are being labeled.
Dramatization of evil was the concept brought forward by Frank Tannenbaum, a big
Labelling Theory theorist. He only presented his development of the Labeling

Education Is The Best Important Things For Me Essay
Education is one of the most important things for me. I believe education is the
way to be a better person, and it is the key to being who you want to be. My dream
is to be a doctor; however, I have limited resources. My parents did not have money
to send me to college. I am currently getting a loan for my associate degree. I am
concern about the amount of money I am going to pay back on the loan after I
graduate. This is making me anxious and is limiting my likelihood to continue post
associate degree. I know many people who are in the same situation. Many people
drop out from college, and many also choose not to seek college education just
because of the expensive tuition. That s why I am proposing free college tuition and
fees for all Americans, so that students from poor families can also seek college
education without financial worries, so that student can focus on learning, and so
that graduates can start their various careers free of debtor without significant debt in
order to focus on developing the economy.
As in every country, all American are not equal in terms of wealth. There are few
people extremely rich, and we have rich people, then we have the middle class,
followed by the poor who struggle to make ends meet. It is so obvious for poor
people to put their basic needs such as food and shelter as a priority whereas
spending money on education represents a luxury for them. However, education is
the way to come out of poverty because it leads to employment which

What did he and his committee find? Was anyone held accountable for their actions?
John Kerry conducted an investigation into the Iran Contra Scandal, in which he
assigned members of his Senate staff to investigate the allegations made against
Reagan. In addition, he influenced the Republican majority on the senate foreign
relations committee to demand information from Reagans and Bush administration
about the alleged Contra drug traffickers (Parry, 2004). John Kerry challenged Ronald
Reagan at the peak of his power and Reagan did everything in his power to interfere
with Kerry s investigation. Some of Ronald s actions included trying to discredit
witnesses, stop the senate when Kerry requested evidence, and lastly, assigning the
CIA to monitor Kerry s Investigation. However, none of these tactics were enough to
stop Kerry and his committee from finding out the truth about the cocaine scandal.
What Kerry and his committee found was that the Contra
Marketing Plans At Pepsico ( N.d )
Marketing plans at PepsiCo
PepsiCo (n.d.) is a global food and beverage leader with a diverse product portfolio
that includes 22 brands that each generates over $1 billion in revenue ( Global
Brands , n.d.). While PepsiCo is second only to Coca Cola in the production of CSD
beverages, PepsiCo is the number one producer of snack foods in the world
(Hoovers, Inc., n.d). Pepsico has outgrown Coca Cola in terms of revenue over the
last five years (Cardenal, 2013, n.p.) because PepsiCo is able to leverage sales of its
complementary snack foods with CSD (De Kluyver Pearce, 2011).
However, PepsiCo s success is a result of leadership by its long standing CEO, Indra
Nooyi and her teams across the globe in forecasting, planning and great marketing in
an ever changing business environment. Forecasting is used by organizations to
predict future events. Planning is conducted by an organization to layout desired
courses of action and desired end states (Schroeder, Goldstein, Rungtusanatham,
2013). Schroeder et al. (2013) point out that [g]ood planning utilizes a forecast as an
input. If the forecast is not acceptable, sometimes a plan can be devised to change
the course of events (p. 267).
Successful Efforts Due to External Change
A significant external change and threat for carbonated soft drink (CSD) producers
has been growing steadily for years due to an [i]ncreased focus on the health

Why Has The World Changed At The End Of The Twentieth
Century
Outrage Causes Democracy There are many reasons why the world completely
changed at the end of the Twentieth Century. The main reasons why the world
changed is because of major events and dictators that influenced the world to change.
These events included the loss of power of Philippines dictator, Ferdinand Marcos,
and dictator Jean Claude of Haiti (Kenney 1). This was a major coincidence that
showed the rest of the world how great the countries looked because of new
democratic governments that took to power and showcased joyous crowds and
removal of repression (Kenney 1). At least 20 30 countries in the 1980s rapidly
changed their ways to democratic governments. The years surrounding 1989 were
the most important for Democratic Revolutions is because the world finally opened
their eyes. Many countries finally caught onto the repression they had been facing
for years and had enough. Two countries that were part of this Revolution were The
Philippines and South Africa. The Philippines was a country ruled by dictator
Ferdinand Marcos from 1917 1989 (Kenney 78). Many things could have happened to
prevent Marcos from continuing his rule. These included strong guerrilla forces that

countrymen and women to fight against repression. He wanted to be able to look
beyond the victory in order to create a better government for the people of South
Africa. For example, he said I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free
society in which all persons live together in harmony and with equal opportunities
(Kenney 136). This quote from his speech is significant because it shows he is ready
to fight for the freedom and equality of
Detecting And Protecting Against Inside Threats
Felipe Affonso Kaustubh M. Phaltankar April 18, 2016 Detecting and protecting
against inside threats Introduction Each day our world and our lives depend more
on information systems, systems that can guarantee that our informations are secure
and available just for our own purpose. Lots of companies work just if critical
information which is stored on their databases. It is the responsibility of these
companies to guarantee with their costumers that this data is secure. Lots of those
companies are concerned about their databases and try to improve their security
however. According to last year s Internet Security Report from Symantec, almost no
company, whether large or small, is immune to cyber attacks. Five of every six large
companies (2500+ employees) were targeted with spear phishing attacks in 2014, a
40 percent increase over the previous year[1]. Normally, companies are aware of
theses attacks and are trying to invest more and more in security. It s important to
point out that attacks are not just from the outside; breaches and even data leakage
can be accomplished by inside employees. So, it s really important to protect against
inside and outside attacks. High tech businesses rely primarily on two opposing
information values: the dissemination of information for innovation success and the
protection of information to retain competitive advantage[2]. These companies know
that just physical security isn t enough anymore, it s necessary to implement different
Way To Love
Are You Pleasing Others But Giving Up Yourself? By Diane Corriette Jan 6, 2009
In Anthony De Mello s book The Way To Love he talks alot about our attachment
to people and things. In particular he mentions our need to be loved by another as if
we would die if they did not exist. When we give up who we are to please another
person we do what I call prostitute our being. We are no longer ourselves but instead
begin to conform to what they want/expect of us. Even when we think we know
what it is another person wants there are no guarantees that we will get it right so
we live in constant fear of making a mistake. That is no way to live and it is
certainly no way to love. I am certainly no expert on love but the one thing I have

other times when it won t! It will never help fill the void for what you are truly
looking for. It provides temporary relief from feeling like nothing but at any
moment if you lost your precious thing you will drop right back down again. Plus
you have to work hard to keep it, maintain it and replace it with something better.
You will worry about people stealing, breaking and ruining it and this worry will

Characteristics Of Romanticism
Jonathan and Jessica Wordsworth. New York, NY: Penguin Books, 2005. Print.
Review by Gloria Wan, Oxford College of Emory University
The Penguin Books of Romantic Poetry includes a collections of romantic poetry
from later eighteen centuries to the early nineteenth century. At the peak of
Romanticism, there were many social and political changes occurred including the
French Revolution, Napoleon s expansion in Europe, the Congress of Vienna, the
conflict between conservatism and liberalism, Industrial revolution and so on.
Romantic poets used poems to express their emotions of their love for nature, longing
for the ancient legends, and they tried to use their emotions and feelings to
understand the world around them including the French Revolution, slavery,
industrial revolution and the Napoleonic war. However, after the Revolution of 1848,
the wave of romanticism died out and realism emerged.
Many romantic poetries praised the beauty and the power of the nature, and this
can be seen as one of the characteristic of Romanticism. In the poem Ode to the
West Wind by Percy Shelley, it talked about wind has the power to change the
season from autumn to spring, and it can also bring rain and hail in the sky and
waves in the ocean. As he wrote in his poem Oh wild west wind, thou breath of
autumn s being, thou, from whose unseen presence the leaves dead are driven, like
ghosts from an enchanter fleeing...the winged seeds, where they lie cold and low,

Women s Role In The Revolutionary War
The American Revolution was a fight for independence. This battle was fought for
eight years with men on the forefront, and women in the background. The colonial
woman was a homemaker. She cooked meals, made clothing, and doctored the
family. At this time in America, men felt that women were beneath them and could
not perform the man s duties. However, homemakers went behind the scenes of the
battlefield, and assisted in a number of different jobs. These jobs, to name a few,
included being nurses, seamstresses, cooks, maids, laundresses, water bearers,
soldiers and spies. Unbeknownst to the men, women would actually be needed and
play a vital role in this war. At this point in time, many women were camp followers.

Women were not allowed to join the military, so they disguised themselves as men.
These female soldiers would cut their hair, bind their breast with bandages, and
adopt masculine names.10 Deborah Sampson was a famous female soldier and she
served for a whole year before she was discovered.11 According to the National
Women s History Museum website, most female spies worked as cooks and maids
for the British and American military camps where they eavesdropped on
conversations about troop movements, military plans, supply shortages and
deliveries.12 Lydia Darragh was a Quaker, and her religious beliefs prevented her
from getting involved in war.13 For this reason, the British used her house for
meetings. At one of these meetings, she overheard the British talking about a surprise
attack on George Washington and his men at a nearby camp. She personally
delivered the information to Washington s troop, turning a British victory into
disappointment.14 Many of these women were compensated for their
Geography And Geography Of Portugal
Portugal
Portugal is a beautiful country that occupies about a sixth of the Iberian peninsula.
The location and geography of portugal caused a major factor in cultural
adaptations. The northwest is lush, green, densely populated, and the major source of
immigrants. The northeast is more mountainous and is divided into a northern region
with long cold winters and a warmer region to the south. The central part of portugal
varies from high and desolate mountain plateaus to low coastal areas. The capital of
Portugal is Lisbon, located on a number of hills on the northern shore of the Tagus
River estuary. Portugal until about the 1960 s was mainly rural. In 1930, 80 percent
of the population lived in rural villages, and thirty years later, 77 percent of the
population was still rural. Since 1960, urbanization has been fueled by extensive
internal migration from the countryside to the cities, but only 35.8 of the population
was defined as urban in 1996.
In 1999, the population of continental and island Portugal was estimated at 9.9
million. The population increased until the 1960s, when it declined by more than
200,000 as a result of emigration to northern Europe. In the 1970s, the population
rose by more than a quarter million as retornados returned from Africa after
decolonization. Portugal has been receiving immigrants, primarily from former
overseas territories such as the Cape Verde Islands. This immigrant population, which
has settled primarily in the greater Lisbon area,
The Pros And Cons Of Shareholders
Shareholders of the company have ultimate control of the company. They can appoint
and remove directors who run the business and are also responsible for its
management of the company.
A general phenomenon about the corporations is that shareholders must accept
majority rule in a company. Shareholders who own majority of the shares, feel that
they have right to make majority of all decision because they have more at stake.
Minority shareholder can also participate in company affairs by checking majority
shareholders power, and promote transparency, ethical practices and good

The general right of a shareholder, in particular a minority shareholder, to be treated
fairly. A shareholder may apply to court for assistance where;
a) The affairs of the company are being conducted or the powers of the directors are
being exercised in a manner oppressive to one or more shareholders or in disregard of
his or their interests as shareholders; or
b) Some act of the company has been done or is threatened or that some resolution
of the shareholders or any class of them has been passed or is proposed which

My Unsung Hero
4. Why do you wish to work for this organization?
I ve been able to grow up in a household where public service is loved and
appreciated. My mom serves our community as a public school teacher for 34
years, while my dad served in the United States Air Force in the Philippines. I have
been surrounded by family members in the Army and Navy, school secretaries,
nurses, and teachers: individuals that are constantly serving in the public eye. To
me, these people are all heroes, and known heroes for that matter. What I wish for
is to be that hero, just like my family is to me and all of those they have helped.
When I realized it was my life goal to work in the intelligence field, especially in this
organization I understood that I could not be that public hero, but I could be the
unsung hero. I could be that person that is protecting our nation and serving on the
front lines of safeguarding our national security. And while no one would know, it s
the feeling that you know you are making a difference for our country, and that is
what I have a passion for. Being the unsung hero with my team, my agency, my
country, and constantly facing new and challenging days is what I want, and why I
wish to work for this organization. It s the fact knowing that you are saving lives and
doing work that truly matters. And these will be the days that will push me to my
limits to better myself, my peers, and our nation.
5. Describe your personality and how it makes you a good fit for this organization.
My catch phrase, I ll figure it out always comes to mind. When a question, a
problem, a crisis comes up, I am someone who likes to face a challenge. Even if I
know it s bigger and better than me, I like to find a way to work through all of the
kinks and curve balls the challenge may throw at me. I love bringing my creativity
and animated personality to any place I am, while also motivating and encouraging
those around me to do the same. Passion, consistency, and a resilience comes with
everything I set out to accomplish. I find strength in my communication skills,
understanding the importance of effective written and verbal communications, as
well as being a good listener as well as analytical. I pride myself in my multitasking
Education Acts and Reports
EDUCATION ACTS AND REPORTS
INTRODUCTION
Integration of the various racial and ethnic groups, the central aim of the 1 Malaysia
concept, had always been the primary concern of the governments education policy
since Independence in 1957. In fact the Razak education report of 1956 and the
Rahman Talib report of 1960 had delineated clear guidelines and emphasise national
integration.
Compare and contrast out the aims and provision of Barnes Report (1950), Fenn Wu

The main issues in the National Education were: i) The desire to form one National
Education System for all races; ii) To make the Malay language the main medium of
instruction; iii) To establish a curriculum orientated towards the local environment
through the formulation of a common education syllabus with similar contents; and
iv) Strengthen the National Education System for all students in it.
The development of the formation of the Education Act was continued in order to
resolve several requests voiced by the different races in Malaysia and to improve on
suggestions recommended in the Razak Report. This was known as the Rahman Talib
Report (1960) and it became the basis for the formation of the 1961 Education Act.
Amongst the changes and amendments made to the Razak Report were: primary
education was free; primary schools became national schools and national type
schools; advanced education was extended to 15 years of age; students advanced to
the next standard automatically; Islamic studies for students when there were not less
than 15 students; and Moral education was given due attention.
After the 1960 Abdul Rahman Talib Report, there come more reports for example
the Hussien Onn Report (1971) and 1979 Mahathir Report. Both these Reports were
done to re examine the Country s Education Policy which was based on the Razak

Analysis Of Deborah Tannen s The Game Of Women
The Game of Women
Over the years, views on women s roles in society have drastically changed. The
gender differences highlighted in Deborah Tannen s excerpts from You Just Don t
Understand emphasize the differences between women s desire for intimacy and
men s pull towards independence. By this theory, men tend to drift in the direction of
power and self reliance, which are characteristics of action television shows and
movies, whereas women immerse themselves in romance and family oriented media.
While The Game of Thrones appeals to males through the fast paced storyline, the
characters of Arya Stark, Sensa Stark, and Daenerys Targaryen break away from
Tannen s stereotypes and empower women watching the series through the ladies
demonstration of survival and independent judgment, even among formidable males.
As a result, both genders are equalized, but women are ennobled in the process.
Often, as depicted in Tannen s piece, You Just Don t Understand, women portrayed
on television and in movies have more intimate motives opposed to men s desire for
independence. The Game of Thrones s cast of women, strongly counteracts Tannen s
ideas. Arya Stark, one of the main characters, is introduced to the audience as a young
girl, who, throughout the series, turns into a cunning, courageous, and intelligent
young woman. From the beginning of the series, Arya Stark brakes out of the social
norm of the time period in which The Game of Thrones is set. Most girls her age

National Spumoni Day in the United States The 21st of August is National

The Mysteries Of The Beatitudes
Christ summarized Catholicism in his teaching of the Beatitudes, which was
essentially one s neighbor. Although it is not incorrect to say the Beatitudes are a
major part what define Catholicism, they are not the only thing that does. Along
with the beatitudes, the luminous mysteries summarize the life of Christ and are
part of what guides Catholics in their beliefs. The luminous mysteries were
introduced by Pope Saint John Paul II in 2002 as part of the apostolic letter
Rosarium Virginus Mariae (Albl et.al 73). Rosarium Virginus Mariae was written to
emphasize the importance of the Rosary and Mary in Catholicism, to show that the
Rosary was, in fact, centered on Christ, and to add new reflection points to
remember when praying the Rosary. In this letter, Pope Saint John Paul II
recommends changes to the way the Rosary is prayed. Previously, there were three
sets of mysteries that one was to reflect on when praying the Rosary. They include the
Joyful mysteries, the Sorrowful mysteries, and the Glorious mysteries. The Joyful
mysteries include the pre ministry life of Jesus. The Sorrowful mysteries include Jesus
during his suffering. The Glorious mysteries include the time after Jesus Ascension.
Pope Saint John Paul II added the luminous mysteries, or mysteries of light. (Albl
et.al 73). There are five luminous mysteries and they are five significant moments in
the life and ministry of Christ. They include his baptism in the Jordan, the miracle at

What Is My Dreams Essay

Analysis of Phineas and GeneВґs Friendship Essay
Competition and rivalry have the ability to make people shine and accomplish
things they never thought possible, and the ability to bring a person s dark side
and get them to do terrible things. Phineas and Gene s friendship is viewed very
differently by each of them. Where Phineas sees Gene as his best friend Gene sees
Phineas as a competitor. Gene sees him as someone trying to keep him from being
successful in school. This warped view of their relationship is the cause of many of
the eventual problems of the novel and arguably the death of Phineas.

respect of him. The thought of shaking Phineas out of a tree would have never
normally crossed Gene s mind but him viewing Phineas as a competitor instead of a
friend made the idea seem fine for the split second it took for him to shake the
branch. The idea hit him just like when he thinks about stealing the doctor s car. He
only even thinks about shaking the limb for an instant, a single life changing
moment, and with some kind of blind impulse , as Phineas describes it, he shakes the
branch. In contrast when he idly considered stealing a car even if he thinks about it
for a second he can decide not to after the first few steps. Once the tree branch is
shaken Phineas fate is sealed. Competition and rivalry can cause people to replace
trust in each other with protection from each other and cause them to build up walls
to separate and protect themselves from their competitors. Not everyone constructs
these fortresses of secrets and distrust. Some people are open and trusting of

Quote: We were first introduced to rap music during one of our visits to Mobimbi, a
quarter where the foreigners who worked for the same American company as my
father lived (Beah 6).
Explanation: The theme of region is shown in this quote as the author describes one
of his many trips down to Mobimbi. Region describes the geographical unit based on
characteristics and functions of culture. This quote also shows a very specific type of
region called functional region, which is an area that has been organized to function
politically, socially, or economically as one unit. The town of Mobimbi that the
author speaks of is a place of social gathering for the people of his area. ... Show more

Boys learn at a young how to climb and provide for their families. This theme of
nature culture is very prominent in this chapter, because without learning to climb
they would have a lot less food to feed to their families.
Quote: I began to feel my ribs when I touched my sides ... Later in the evening, the
boy s mother gave each of us an ear of corn (Beah 30 31).
Explanation: The theme nature culture is used in this quote as the author talks about
how hungry he is, and also how a woman gave them corn she had grown. Nature
culture helps us investigate how groups of people interact with the Earth s
biophysical environment and examine how the culture, politics, and economies of
those groups affect their ecological situation and resource use. The author and his
friends are currently fleeing from the RUF. The RUF is an army made of young
boys. While the boys are fleeing they have no food, but when they find a young boy
who has food, they take his food and eat it themselves. But the mother of the child
takes pity on the boys and gives them each their own ear of corn she has grown. This
is an example of nature culture, because it shows how people are utilizing the Earth
and its resources to survive in tough situations. Also the town that they wandered into
has a farming culture; this is how the people of that town make money by selling
their corn, and how they also live healthy lives from the nutritional value
Examples Of The Outsiders In The Greasers
For thugs from the ghetto, violence is a way of life it s what helps you survive.
The Socs and the Greasers were two gangs in The Outsiders. Throughout the novel
these two gangs had a continuous rivalry. Society viewed these two gangs
differently. The Socs as rich kids and the Greasers as poor kids. In The Outsiders,
both the Socs and the Greasers spent most of their time in gang fights and
disobeying the law. The Socs were wealthier and had a higher social status. We get
jumped by the Socs. I m not sure how you spell it, but it s the abbreviation for the
Socials, the jet set, the West side rich kids. It s like the term greaser, which is used to
class all us boys on the East Side.We re poorer than the Socs and the middle class. I

We re poorer than the Socs and the middle class. I reckon we re wilder, too. Not
like the Socs, who jump greasers and wreck houses and throw beer blasts for kicks,
and get editorials in the paper for being a public disgrace one day and an asset to
society the next. Greasers are almost like hoods (Hinton 4). Society viewed the
Greasers as lower class people who lived in poor neighborhoods. They had no cars
and had to grease their hair back. There were seen as the derelicts and juvenile
delinquents of society. The Greasers were an easy target for the Socs because they
were already labeled and more subjected to be charged by the police. Society
treated the Greaser as outsiders, hence the title The Outsiders. We get jumped by
the Socs. I m not sure how you spell it, but it s the abbreviation for the Socials, the
jet set, the West side rich kids (Hinton 4). Society viewed the Socs as rich kids. The
Socs had everything such as money, a good house hold, high social status, cars, and
fashionable clothing. The Socs did not have any problems because they had
everything, even money to provide them with college. The Socs were accepted in the
society because they were the upper class. They were the people that had the most
power. Unlike the Greasers on the other hand who were the complete opposite. They
were the lowest of the lower class, close to the point of being
Still I Rise
Still I Rise Maya Angelou The poem Still I Rise written by American author Maya
Angelou is written from the perspective of Maya herself. She is speaking to her
audience of oppressors about how she has overcome racism, criticism, sexism, and
personal obstacles in her life with pride and grace. It describes her personal
struggle through life and how she managed to pull through and how she will
continue on her life journey. This poem is historically rooted with mentions of
slavery, a past of pain and gifts of ancestors ; she is however speaking in the present
and how she is embarking on a new journey. Throughout this poem we are introduced
to various themes and symbols, a strong symbol being the rising of the dust . Dust
only rises... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This poem is more than any ordinary poem as Maya interacts with her audience;
she describes the highs and lows of her life and history. I enjoyed reading this
poem as it brought about a sense of justice and it has opened my mind to what
other countries can truly be like. I myself have experienced emotions that Maya
herself has felt, last year my grandmother passed away. It was the first time in my
life where I had lost a loved one. It was a strange and horrible experience that I will
never forget. It knocked me down and it took some time before I was able to stand
on my own two feet again. The fact that I know she is in a better place know
motivates me to live my life to the fullest. I am lucky that I will never experience
the racism, discrimination, sexism all the other negative obstacles that have affected
her life. I am blessed to have been brought up in such a beautiful country, with such
a loving family. Maya has portrayed her life in a poem, it is inspiring and she has
risen from the ground to live a successful
The Face That Launch D A Thousand Ships By
Christopher...
Beauty has always been one of society s accomplishments, objectives and
obsessions since the beginning of time. Beauty is fought over, wrote about,
spoken of and thought of constantly. Helen of Troy is one example. Her beauty was
talked of far and wide, even as a young child. This caused her to be a target at a
young age for other kingdoms and realms. Beauty can cause people to do rash
things. It always has and always will. People want what they can not have, and for
some that is beauty. Beauty is manipulative. It can get a person fame, wealth, love,
followers and discouragers. Helenof Troy is one who is very familiar to the gift of
beauty. Helen used the gift to her advantage, wooing many a man, and even starting
the Trojan Warjust because of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And all is dross that is not Helena ( The Face That Launch d A Thousand Ships by
Christopher Marlowe. npag). Marlowe talks of his love for Helen and how
everything that is not her is tedious and irrelevant to what he wants to hear and see,
Helen is his distraction which he welcomes with open arms on a daily basis.
Marlowe is infatuated with Helen and like with any infatuation, only wants to hear
about her and only her, everything else is irrelevant to his wants. And I will combat
with weak Menelaus ( The Face That Launch d A Thousand Ships by Christopher
Marlowe. npag). Marlowe is willing to fight one of Helen s husbands to have her
to himself. He is willing to die for her because of the immense love that he has for
Helen. But none but thou shalt be my paramour ( The Face That Launch d A
Thousand Ships by Christopher Marlowe. npag). Marlowe only wants Helen as his
lover, even not knowing much about her besides her beauty, he knows that he must
have her or he will have no one at all. Marlowe is a dedicated admirer of Helen, one
of many she earned because of her immense
My Learning Style Analysis
My Learning Style Through the course of my readings about the variety of learning
styles and ways of learning, I can honestly state that what I found is there is no right
or wrong way of learning and everyone s style is also your own. There different
ways we can assimilate, process and view information. The major determining factor
of how well we do this, depends on who is being asked the question and how do they
want the answer. In the readings, I have learned that based on who your audience is,
will determine how the information is interpreted. Though not everything is set in
stone. L. Baumgartner (2015) discusses this her article discussing adult development.
She mentions that humans are active participants in their development, actively...

My tendencies of second guessing myself are directly describe in the Divergent
learning style. Though when analyzing my other identifiable style (the
accommodator style), I find a lot of similarities within it. I know it has been said
that patience is a virtue, and do I wish I had more of it. I find myself anxious at
times, which has led me to make some not so well thought out decisions. Hind
sight is AMAZING! I do wish I had a crystal ball. This would aid me in avoiding
some simple mistakes that I have made due to my impatience. This is also a typical
trait of the accommodator learning

  • 2. The Similarities Between Earthworm And Crayfish In my comparative anatomy class I was able to distinguish the difference and the similarities between a earthworm, crayfish, and a chordate. The earthworm and the crayfish are both divided into parts. The earthworm is divided internally and externally into defined segments. These segments may also be divided as well. The crayfish is divided into two main parts. One of the parts that they are divided into is called the cephalothorax which consists of the head region and the thoracic region. The second part is called the abdomen. The abdomen consists of six clearly divided segments. The chordate is not divided into parts. They all belong to the animal kingdom. The crayfish differs from the earthwormand the chordate because it has a hard exoskeleton that covers its body.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They all have different ways of how they taste their food. The crayfish taste its food by two ways which is antennules and the long antennae. The only difference between the two is that the antennules helps with balance, touch, and taste, and the long antennae are organs for touch, taste, and smell. The chrodate taste its food by the pharynx. They are able to do this because the pharynx is consisted of 100 pharyngeal slits that are called gill slits . These gill slits are what is used to strain food particles out of the water. The earthworm obtains its food by extending its body from surfaces and opening a small tunnel which it makes by eating its way through the soil. So basically this is saying that earthworms eat
  • 3. A Comparison of Two Murderers In the Edgar Allan Poe stories The Cask of Amontillado and The Tell Tale Heart the most prominent and important themes that are used are death, logic, and irony. The characters of the narrator and Montresor in these stories are both coldblooded murders that kill for selfish, and inane reasons who firmly believe that their actions are justified even though their rationalizations only make sense in their own minds. They both try to convince their audience that they are completely sane by giving their explanations about why they did what they did as well as their motives for killing their victims. In admitting how they murdered victims, who appear to be innocent to everyone besides them, they only succeed in proving their insanity. The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He knows that logically the only way lure Fortunado into the catacombs successfully is to make him feel safe and then betray him at the last moment. When he lures Fortunado into the catacombs he gives him many opportunities to get out of it but he does not suspect Montresor of anything so he continues to trust him. There is also a considerable amount of irony in both of the stories. The best example is when they try to convince the audience that they are completely sane and that their actions are justified. The narrator tirelessly attempts to convince whoever he is telling his story to that he is perfectly sane while recounting how he viciously murdered an old man he claimed to love, chopped up his body, and hid him in the floorboards all because he didn t like his vulture eye. While he believes that he is going to persuade his audience that he was in his right mind, all he is doing his backing up the assumption that he is mentally ill and is in no way sane. Montresor does not try as hard to make his listeners believe in his sanity. His victim, Fortunado, as a character is also a good example of irony. His name, which translates to lucky , proves to be extremely ironic when he is the one that ends up being killed. He is given many hints by Montresor as to what will happen to him as well as many opportunities to turn back but his ego and competitiveness with his rival Luchresi ends up sealing his fate. He says in
  • 4. Why Little Recognition Can Affect The Profit Of The... 4.3.Primary Study Analysis The methods of analysis are based on Kvale, Brinkmann, and Plas s (1996) theory. There are five principal approaches of analysis, including condensation, categorisation, and narrative, interpretation, and ad hoc. The reviewing method for each question is going to be selected in line with the objectives of the questions. 4.3.1.Brand Awareness Among the ten interviewees (see Table 4 1), merely one person can recall her memory of a Creative Expo Taiwan 2016 s sponsor, Taiyen Culture Creative. The other nine people have the difficulty in recollecting the memory of the sponsors. Therefore, they require the assistance of the researcher to remind them of the brand names of the sponsors. The issue of little recognition can affect the profit of the sponsors and the brand image enhancement negatively based on the theory of Aaker (1991). Furthermore, based on Aaker s (1991) theory, the reason of the unawareness of Creative Expo Taiwan 2016 sponsors might be the failure of letting the public realise the brands products and services. The occasion of unfamiliarity and unrecognition happened to almost every interviewees except Interviewee J because of her extended work experience and higher economic situation (see Table 4 2). Based on the awareness pyramid (Aaker, 1991), in the result of interview, ten people can recognise the brand name of BMW without difficulty, and knowing their products and services clearly (See Table 4 2). • 7. An Analysis Of Ramayana By William Buck Ramayana, translated by William Buck, is an ancient Indian epic telling the story of a prince named Rama who fights against his adversary, Ravana. Although there are many important female characters throughout the book, they are often seen as subordinate to their male counterparts where intelligence and strength are concerned. One character who proves this stereotype wrong is Sita, Ramas wife, who often shows that she has the capacity of being just as powerful as the men of the story. By being more mindful than most people around her, Sita defies the expectations that many characters have placed on her. Sita lets the reader see another side of women s power and shows us the strength that women could have. The reason that Sita proves to be powerful is that she seems to have an understanding of the deeper meaning of her life; precisely the quality that men don t expect her to have. Many men in the epic dismiss women s abilities, or the possibility that they could be equals. Often, they write women off as not being intelligent. When Vali, the monkey king s brother, tells his wife, Tara, that the only reason to consult a woman is to find out what not to do (Buck 196), implying that women cannot understand life or have authority. Vali completely ignores the validity of Tara s argument because he perceives her, and all women, to be less intelligent than he. Vali s opinion in this scene speaks to the larger view of women s intellect throughout this epic. Women are also

Keeping in range your micronutrient is very important, the range provides a guide to a well balanced nutrition in which you should not exceed the recommended ratios in order not to create excess energy in thus converting to fat. The lack of micronutrients is also important to keep in mind. Lack of these nutrients can cause malnutrition that can lead to disease complexity disorder and long term damage to your organs. Too, generation expert Ken Dychtwald has calculated Boomers currently ages 40 through 59 will inherit more than $ 10 trillion, further boosting the spending clout of the cohort with the most economic power in the U.S. Roughly 25 percent of Boomers, or 20 million of the generation s 80 million members, are expected to possess what life stage expert Geoff Meredith terms an age accepting mentality by 2008. • 11. Greenhouse Gas Emissions And Climate Change Greenhouse Gas Emissions Resulting in Climate Change The Sun is responsible for all of the energy that enters the Earth s atmosphere. The Earth s energy is in balance when Earth emits the same amount of energy as it absorbs (Schneider, 1987). But today, the Earth is absorbing more energy than is what is being released due to increases in greenhouse gases in the Earth s atmosphere (Herbert, 2007). Out of the total energy entering the Earth s atmosphere, as seen in Figure 1, only 30% is being reflected back into space due the Earth s albedo (Schneider, 1987). The other 70% of this energy is being absorbed by the Earth s surface and atmosphere (Schneider, 1987). Here we are going to discuss how increasing greenhouse gas concentrations leads to climate change, some consequences that come with climate change and what can be done about it. The Earth has been known to go through various natural warming and cooling periods throughout history. During warmer interglacial periods, CO2 levels are higher and during cooler glacial periods, CO2 levels are lower (Monnin, 2004). This is because the heating and cooling of Earth s surface can cause significant changes in greenhouse gas concentrations (Monnin, 2004). These changes often act as a positive feedback, intensifying the existing temperature changes (Monnin, 2004). For example, it was slightly warmer during the Holocene Climatic Optimum about 5,000 6,000 years ago and was slightly cooler during the Little Ice Age from about 1600 AD

The famous places that are linked to King Arthur s life are the Tintagel Castle, Battle of Mt. Badon, Battle of Camlann, and Glastonbury. These four places are important because they show where King Arthur started in his life and where he ended his life. There are also many sources that tell what happened at these places, but it is up to the reader to decide which one to read or believe. However, before this became a town, Glastonbury was almost an island with wetlands surrounding it. Over the years it has been said that King Arthur was buried here and finished his life at Glastonbury. Since Glastonbury was very close to being a small island at once, it is highly possible and most likely that a boat brought King Arthur to Glastonbury where possible medical attention was available after being severely wounded from his nephew in the Battle of Camlann. After dying from his wounds, Arthur was said to be buried on the south side of the cemetery, right in the middle of two large stone pyramids. Eventually, a man named Henry II, the King of England at that time had information about the cemetery and asked the Abbot to dig within the site of the cemetery . Around 1191, a large wooden coffin was discovered and right beneath the coffin, a white lead cross that read Hic jacet sepultus inclitus rex Arturius in insula Avalonia. If translated into english, it would say Here lies King Arthur buried in Avalon. In the coffin two intact bodies were found inside it. One was King Arthur and the other was his wife, Guinevere. Unfortunately, Henry did not see these bodies due to his health. After the bones were later discovered, they were soon placed into a new tomb and moved to the South Transept of the site. I found this article on the KTVB website. It was written by author Dean Johnson and published at 10:13 PM on September 3rd, 2016. The article describes the reasoning for the recent firing of Mary Black, a Northside Bus Company bus driver in Jerome, Idaho. The issue that this article describes would be most closely related to the subject of culture. On Saturday, September 3rd, the Northside Bus Company in Jerome, ID confirmed to KTVB that bus driver, Mary Black, had been fired from their company. Black was fired after a video posted on Facebook displayed a confrontation between Black and a student on the bus. The student involved was eighth grader, Miguel Martinez. Black suspected Martinez of throwing a water bottle on the bus. As punishment, Black tried to take Martinez phone away, but, when unable to accomplish that, she decided to pour the water from the thrown water bottle onto Martinez. Black also demanded that Martinez only speak to her in English, not his native tongue of Spanish. Black can be heard on video saying, I don t understand Spanish. I m not going to learn it. Reasons I Chose Air Traffic Controller Reason I Chose Air Traffic Controller I chose to do my paper on being a Air Traffic Controller, and what Air Traffic Control because it seems like a job in aviation that I would be interested in. The pay is good and overall it seems like a good job and field to go into. Air Traffic Controller Air traffic controllers direct the movement of air traffic, to make sure that aircraft stay safe distances apart. Air traffic controllers have many duties such as, issuing landing and takeoff instructions to pilots, controlling ground traffic, help directing the movement of aircraft in air and on the ground, and etc. Air traffic controllers work in control towers, approach control buildings, or en route centers. Some are located at airports and others are not. Air traffic controllers with 20 years of experience are able to retire at age 50. Controllers must retire at age 56. Most air traffic controllers work full time. The median annual wage for air traffic controllers is $122,530. To become an air traffic controller, you must be a U.S. citizen, pass medical and background checks, get a good score on the Federal Aviation Administration pre employment test, complete a training course at the FAA Academy, pass a physical exam each year and a job performance exam twice per year and pass drug screenings. Within a remarkably brief period, Greek artists developed focused and distinctive ideals of human beauty and architectural design that continues to be a profound influence today. Greek art was self aware, and self confident, developing a concept of human supremacy and responsibility that required a new visual expression. This is in stark contrast to ancient Egypt, where permanence and continuity maintained stable artistic conventions for nearly 3000 years. By the end of the first century BCE, the influence of Greek painting, sculpture, and architecture had spread to communities of emerging Roman Empire. Roman patrons and artists maintained Greek art and customs into Early Christian and Byzantine times. This reduplication creates multiple identical humans which greatly lessens the importance of individuals. Also, human manufacture generates the idea that people are reproducible and thus these twins are easier to

The Development of Writing Materials From the Sumerian and Egyptian Times Today, writing materials are easy to come by and something humans tend to take for granted. There was, however, a time that paper did not exist. According to the book Scribes, Script and Books written by Leila Avrin: Today we think of a book as a gathering of paper pages bound together with a protective cover. For the books of older, partially lost civilizations, we must expand our imagination to include all kinds of writing instruments and bookmaking materials we would not have considered otherwise, such as stone, metal, trees (wood, bark, bamboo, and palm leaves), glass, ivory, clay, wax, fabric, and the bones and skins of animal. The Egyptian people incorporated writing into their work. Masonry workers carved artful inscriptions into arches and pillars. Morticians inscripted sacred rites onto coffins. Agricultural workers kept detailed records of flood dates, seed treatment, yields, and profits on scrolls of papyrus. Middle class Egyptians started to make reading and writing the new social standard continually innovating ways to turn any substance into a writing

  • 22. Frank Tannenbaum s Theory Of The Labeling Theory Once a person is labelled as a deviant, it is hard to remove that label. The Labeling Theory basically says that no behavior is deeply rooted on its own. It is society s reaction to the behavior that makes the act deviant or not. Labeling is to give someone or something to a category and is usually given mistakenly. The people who usually doing the labeling have statues, numbers, power and authority. People with low status, power and authority are the ones that are being labeled. Dramatization of evil was the concept brought forward by Frank Tannenbaum, a big Labelling Theory theorist. He only presented his development of the Labeling Theory in reply of his work with juveniles partaking in street gang activities. He thought of the labelling theory as the process of digging, tagging, identifying, segregating, describing, emphasizing, making conscious and self conscious... (Hagan, 2017, p. 162). • 23. Education Is The Best Important Things For Me Essay Education is one of the most important things for me. I believe education is the way to be a better person, and it is the key to being who you want to be. My dream is to be a doctor; however, I have limited resources. My parents did not have money to send me to college. I am currently getting a loan for my associate degree. I am concern about the amount of money I am going to pay back on the loan after I graduate. This is making me anxious and is limiting my likelihood to continue post associate degree. I know many people who are in the same situation. Many people drop out from college, and many also choose not to seek college education just because of the expensive tuition. That s why I am proposing free college tuition and fees for all Americans, so that students from poor families can also seek college education without financial worries, so that student can focus on learning, and so that graduates can start their various careers free of debtor without significant debt in order to focus on developing the economy. As in every country, all American are not equal in terms of wealth. There are few people extremely rich, and we have rich people, then we have the middle class, followed by the poor who struggle to make ends meet. It is so obvious for poor people to put their basic needs such as food and shelter as a priority whereas spending money on education represents a luxury for them. Lots of companies work just if critical information which is stored on their databases. It is the responsibility of these companies to guarantee with their costumers that this data is secure. Lots of those companies are concerned about their databases and try to improve their security however. According to last year s Internet Security Report from Symantec, almost no company, whether large or small, is immune to cyber attacks. Five of every six large companies (2500+ employees) were targeted with spear phishing attacks in 2014, a 40 percent increase over the previous year[1]. Normally, companies are aware of theses attacks and are trying to invest more and more in security. It s important to point out that attacks are not just from the outside; breaches and even data leakage can be accomplished by inside employees. So, it s really important to protect against inside and outside attacks. High tech businesses rely primarily on two opposing information values: the dissemination of information for innovation success and the protection of information to retain competitive advantage[2]. • 29. Characteristics Of Romanticism Jonathan and Jessica Wordsworth. New York, NY: Penguin Books, 2005. Print. Review by Gloria Wan, Oxford College of Emory University The Penguin Books of Romantic Poetry includes a collections of romantic poetry from later eighteen centuries to the early nineteenth century. At the peak of Romanticism, there were many social and political changes occurred including the French Revolution, Napoleon s expansion in Europe, the Congress of Vienna, the conflict between conservatism and liberalism, Industrial revolution and so on. Romantic poets used poems to express their emotions of their love for nature, longing for the ancient legends, and they tried to use their emotions and feelings to understand the world around them including the French Revolution, slavery, industrial revolution and the Napoleonic war. However, after the Revolution of 1848, the wave of romanticism died out and realism emerged. Many romantic poetries praised the beauty and the power of the nature, and this can be seen as one of the characteristic of Romanticism. In the poem Ode to the West Wind by Percy Shelley, it talked about wind has the power to change the season from autumn to spring, and it can also bring rain and hail in the sky and waves in the ocean. The gender differences highlighted in Deborah Tannen s excerpts from You Just Don t Understand emphasize the differences between women s desire for intimacy and men s pull towards independence. By this theory, men tend to drift in the direction of power and self reliance, which are characteristics of action television shows and movies, whereas women immerse themselves in romance and family oriented media. While The Game of Thrones appeals to males through the fast paced storyline, the characters of Arya Stark, Sensa Stark, and Daenerys Targaryen break away from Tannen s stereotypes and empower women watching the series through the ladies demonstration of survival and independent judgment, even among formidable males. As a result, both genders are equalized, but women are ennobled in the process. Often, as depicted in Tannen s piece, You Just Don t Understand, women portrayed on television and in movies have more intimate motives opposed to men s desire for independence. The Game of Thrones s cast of women, strongly counteracts Tannen s ideas. Arya Stark, one of the main characters, is introduced to the audience as a young girl, who, throughout the series, turns into a cunning, courageous, and intelligent young woman. Although it is not incorrect to say the Beatitudes are a major part what define Catholicism, they are not the only thing that does. The luminous mysteries were introduced by Pope Saint John Paul II in 2002 as part of the apostolic letter Rosarium Virginus Mariae (Albl et.al 73). Rosarium Virginus Mariae was written to emphasize the importance of the Rosary and Mary in Catholicism, to show that the Rosary was, in fact, centered on Christ, and to add new reflection points to remember when praying the Rosary. • 41. Analysis of Phineas and GeneВґs Friendship Essay Competition and rivalry have the ability to make people shine and accomplish things they never thought possible, and the ability to bring a person s dark side and get them to do terrible things. Phineas and Gene s friendship is viewed very differently by each of them. Where Phineas sees Gene as his best friend Gene sees Phineas as a competitor. Gene sees him as someone trying to keep him from being successful in school. This warped view of their relationship is the cause of many of the eventual problems of the novel and arguably the death of Phineas. Competition between peers makes people strive to try and be better than their opponents, and can be healthy or unhealthy depending on the competitors and their responses to the competition. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sometimes this causes built up resentment and eventually could cause both of the friends to be hurt because of one rash decision like shaking a tree branch. While only Phineas was physically hurt Gene was in an emotional battle with himself about what he has done to Finny and what he thinks of him. Eventually the other boys at Devon find out Gene shook the tree branch, which causes them to lose respect of him. The thought of shaking Phineas out of a tree would have never normally crossed Gene s mind but him viewing Phineas as a competitor instead of a friend made the idea seem fine for the split second it took for him to shake the branch. The idea hit him just like when he thinks about stealing the doctor s car. He only even thinks about shaking the limb for an instant, a single life changing moment, and with some kind of blind impulse , as Phineas describes it, he shakes the branch. In contrast when he idly considered stealing a car even if he thinks about it for a second he can decide not to after the first few steps. Once the tree branch is shaken Phineas fate is sealed. Competition and rivalry can cause people to replace trust in each other with protection from each other and cause them to build up walls to separate and protect themselves from their competitors. Not everyone constructs these fortresses of secrets and distrust. Some people are open and trusting of

Ap Human Geography Heather Furlong AP Human Geography Summer Assignment Quote: We were first introduced to rap music during one of our visits to Mobimbi, a quarter where the foreigners who worked for the same American company as my father lived (Beah 6). Explanation: The theme of region is shown in this quote as the author describes one of his many trips down to Mobimbi. Region describes the geographical unit based on characteristics and functions of culture. This quote also shows a very specific type of region called functional region, which is an area that has been organized to function politically, socially, or economically as one unit. The town of Mobimbi that the author speaks of is a place of social gathering for the people of his area. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Boys learn at a young how to climb and provide for their families. This theme of nature culture is very prominent in this chapter, because without learning to climb they would have a lot less food to feed to their families. Quote: I began to feel my ribs when I touched my sides ... Later in the evening, the boy s mother gave each of us an ear of corn (Beah 30 31). Explanation: The theme nature culture is used in this quote as the author talks about how hungry he is, and also how a woman gave them corn she had grown. Nature culture helps us investigate how groups of people interact with the Earth s biophysical environment and examine how the culture, politics, and economies of those groups affect their ecological situation and resource use. The author and his friends are currently fleeing from the RUF. The RUF is an army made of young boys. While the boys are fleeing they have no food, but when they find a young boy who has food, they take his food and eat it themselves. But the mother of the child takes pity on the boys and gives them each their own ear of corn she has grown. This is an example of nature culture, because it shows how people are utilizing the Earth and its resources to survive in tough situations. Also the town that they wandered into has a farming culture; this is how the people of that town make money by selling their corn, and how they also live healthy lives from the nutritional value

We re poorer than the Socs and the middle class. I reckon we re wilder, too. Not like the Socs, who jump greasers and wreck houses and throw beer blasts for kicks, and get editorials in the paper for being a public disgrace one day and an asset to society the next. Greasers are almost like hoods (Hinton 4). Society viewed the Greasers as lower class people who lived in poor neighborhoods. They had no cars and had to grease their hair back. There were seen as the derelicts and juvenile delinquents of society. The Greasers were an easy target for the Socs because they were already labeled and more subjected to be charged by the police. Society treated the Greaser as outsiders, hence the title The Outsiders. We get jumped by the Socs. I m not sure how you spell it, but it s the abbreviation for the Socials, the jet set, the West side rich kids (Hinton 4). Society viewed the Socs as rich kids. The Socs had everything such as money, a good house hold, high social status, cars, and fashionable clothing. The Socs did not have any problems because they had everything, even money to provide them with college. The Socs were accepted in the society because they were the upper class. They were the people that had the most power. Unlike the Greasers on the other hand who were the complete opposite. They were the lowest of the lower class, close to the point of being

I enjoyed reading this poem as it brought about a sense of justice and it has opened my mind to what other countries can truly be like. I myself have experienced emotions that Maya herself has felt, last year my grandmother passed away. It was the first time in my life where I had lost a loved one. It was a strange and horrible experience that I will never forget. It knocked me down and it took some time before I was able to stand on my own two feet again. The fact that I know she is in a better place know motivates me to live my life to the fullest. I am lucky that I will never experience the racism, discrimination, sexism all the other negative obstacles that have affected her life. I am blessed to have been brought up in such a beautiful country, with such a loving family. My Learning Style Analysis My Learning Style Through the course of my readings about the variety of learning styles and ways of learning, I can honestly state that what I found is there is no right or wrong way of learning and everyone s style is also your own. There different ways we can assimilate, process and view information. The major determining factor of how well we do this, depends on who is being asked the question and how do they want the answer. In the readings, I have learned that based on who your audience is, will determine how the information is interpreted. Though not everything is set in stone. L.
