Human Nature And Culture Being Responsible For Warfare
There is little interpretation necessary when two groups of men are painted shooting arrows at one
another or when skeletal remains are recovered inflicted by human weapons that predate to when
hunters gatherers once lived. This goes against the philosopher, Jean Jacques Rousseau s theory of
warfare, which opposes humannature and culture being responsible for warfare, but as being a
result of civilization. Evidence says otherwise. Warfare came before civilization had begun, but
differently from the war we know today. The way of life was completely different, resulting in
the way humans fought to also differ; from tactics and weapons to the reasons why they even
fought to begin with. Evidence such as our closest living relatives, the chimpanzees, which
contains a difference of two percent from our DNA (Dyer, 2005). Chimpanzees share a lot of
similar characteristic, which Jane Goodall has discovered though out her 40 years of research. I
will also explore different pre civilization tribes that also display recognizable war like behaviour,
and the different findings to support that. Lastly, that brings us to the physical evidence that
archaeologists have recovered over the years, such as human remains bearing weapons traumas
suggesting death from these injuries were inflicted by human weapons such as, fractured bones,
spear wounds, and stone blade lodged between the ribs. But first, I will begin with how hunter
gatherers once lived to help you better understand the way of

Emotion, Memory, And Decision Making
Emotional arousal appears to have a huge effect on processing, memory, and decision making. For
memories specifically, we tend to rehearse and review episodes of intense emotions frequently,
allowing them to be stronger and more relevant memories (Gluck, 2014). Flashbulb memories
suggest that emotion can greatly increase memorycoding, though is still subject to misattribution
errors. Still, evidence suggests that emotion can boost memory encoding (Webbe slides). When
creating emotional experiences in a story against a non emotional story, explicit memory was
strengthened by emotion (Webbe slides). These factors influence the way memory of stored, but
an effect known as mood congruency of memory effect how memory is retrieved. This effect
states that it is easier to retrieve memories based on our current mood. In this way, people who
are depressed and asked to recall memories will recall sad ones, and people asked to recall
episodic memories from neutral nouns would recall memories that match their current mood states
(Webbe slides). Life stressors can impact the development or retrieval of memory, resulting in
distorted or false memories. This could result from psychological stress or trauma, resulting in
functional amnesia. Additionally, guided imagery or hypnosis recovered memories can be
distorted, resulting in false memories and can make it difficult to distinguish false memories from
recovered ones. Emotional memory is processed by the amygdale, and damage to the

Differences And Similaristics Of Greek And Roman Architecture
Greek and Roman civilizations have created some of the most inveterate and meaningful images in
history. The art of building that arouse on the shores of the Aegean Sea and flourished at the ancient
world .Greeks were governed through democracy while romans were republicans .the Romans
borrowed and adapted the Greek style. They sanctified the same Greek Gods but gave them
different names. They both concentrated on using their structural concepts that match their ideal
ratios. And as any two consecutive, greatly attached civilizations .there are many points of
comparisons regarding their building types, building techniques, materials and art. As long as the
presence of differences there are many similarities that actually exist.
If we started with the similarities between them, we would find out that they both concerned about
symmetry, using stonework (marble), columns, and esplanades. They brought up numerous statues
and esteemed the human compose. Although difference between Greek and Roman architecture
are not so clear for some, they look alike in many things. However, it does not mean lack of
difference at all between both of them.
The Greeks established some colonies on the coastline near the Mediterranean Sea. While The
Romans ruled all over the Mediterranean. The Romans built roads which connects their empire to
the main land. But The Greeks ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

What Steroids Can Do To Your Body
A bloodcurdling feeling spreads throughout the arena, a smell so menacing that even the men
inside the ring don t know what will happen next. The roars of men are zipping through the air as
bodies are torn limb from limb. Grotesque as this image may be only a few hundred years ago
were people competing in stadiums adorned by thousands of viewers. Competition has always been
a part of humannature, ever since the first man put his foot onto this planet the race has been on.
Certainly competition has changed as years have gone by. First we competed for food on a
daily basis, competition was needed in order to just make it through the day, as many years
began to pass competition began to turn into daze in which people could watch others fight for
their lives fighting against creatures from other parts of the world unknown to their own.
Today, we no longer face the life or death bouts over a single meal. The sense of competition has
not dulled, yet it has been moved from a daily survival to more of an extravagance for viewers to
behold the abilities of others in awe. These days, the most anticipated competitions are held in
football stadiums, boxing rings, and weight rooms. The rewards for today s gladiators consist of
bragging rights over a rival, worldwide notoriety, and large sums of money. Being the best at what
we do, getting the feeling that you are number one is what we as humans have always strived for.
No matter what the cost had been we always took another step forward

Social Media Marketing Essay
Social Media Marketing
Marketing is a well developed methodological science and is constantly changing its rules
according to the needs and developments taking place in and around its (Saravanakumar and
Suganthalakshmi, 2012).Social media marketing is now growing at a rapid speed.
Social media marketing is a technique that is used to persuade the potential customer to buy a
product or service making it worthwhile. According to Gattiker (2010), social media marketing is
the process of promoting your brand, service or product and building your reputation through social
media channels, such as weblogs and social networks like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn

Such events have a specific target market or a selected class of people that is pursued to become
customer (salescreators, 2014) .Event marketing is being viewed as an increasingly important
element in the promotion of a company s product, service, or cause (Taranto, 1998; Shiu, 1995).
Stanley (1995) in his research points out that marketers rely on retailers, media and consumers, to
measure the effectiveness of social events. These methods result in one of the major disadvantages
of event marketing discussed by Behrer and Larsson(1998), as referred to by Jessica and Anna,
difficult to evaluate , the outcome of the social event. This is also the problem the research is
addressing, the difficulty in evaluating the outcome of the social events.
The research mainly focuses on social events promoted over the web through Social Media. Social
Media is the best defined in the context of previous industrial media paradigm (Saravanakumar and
Suganthalakshmi, 2012). They also point out that it has become the method of statement in the 21st

Sports And Sports During The Elizabethan Era
How did the modern sports and games of the Elizabethan Era set a trend? Being a part of the
Elizabethan Era back then sports, hunting, and games played a very huge role during that time. This

During the Elizabethan Era everything had a part to play.
But a good question would be what part did royalty play in sports. The royal family held sporting

Unique Capabilities Of Modelling Construction Materials
Capdeivila Werning (2011) writes that buildings, including the Kampung house, can open our
understanding of the unique capabilities of modelling construction materials in specific
environments. These houses are not built by commercial architects or designers but by experienced
village master builders, through the soul, the hands and labourers of the community. This allows
each houseto take on a unique personality and character reflecting its inhabitants. The beauty of this
architecture has long been dismissed as accidental, but today we should be able to recognize it as
the result of rare good sense in the handling of practical problems. The shape of the houses,
sometimes transmitted through a hundred generations, seem eternally valid, like those of their
tools (Rudofsky,1964, p4). A popular design detail introduced in the traditional Kampung house is
wood carvingwhich responds to the culture and community. Wood carving is an extremely difficult
and precious talent passed down through generations. However, it is a dying practice and has
become an expensive business only unique to those interested in the preservation of the Kampung
house style and those who appreciate the art. Wood carvings are not only ornamentally aesthetic
but have a lot of sacred meanings as well as being visually attractive in the internal living
environment as shown in Figure 11. The wood carvings along the walls, windows and door frames
often represents stories, depicting different tales

The Importance Of Abortion In The United States
Should abortion be legal in the United States? This question has been a huge argument for quite
some time now. Everyone has their own opinion, I am without a doubt prolife. Abortion should be
illegal for thousands of reason. Some reasons that make me so passionate that abortion should be
illegal is the fact that abortionis murder, it s making human life disposable, there are other options
instead of abortion like adoption, abortion can cause serious medical problems in a women, and
there are many women looking to adopt children.
If murder is illegal why isn t abortion, abortion is just another form of murder. It s making
human life disposable by giving women the chance to get rid of a problem they do not want to
deal with. No one would kill a one year old child because they didn t feel like dealing with them
anymore so why should abortion be allowed? Every person should be giving the chance of life,
abortion is taking away the chance of someone being able to live a full life. The child s life starts

Integration in Ole Miss Football Today, African American athletes play a strong and predominant
role in the football program at the university however, this was not always the case. Less than
fifty years ago, the Ole Miss football program was just as segregated as it had been in its early
days. As a whole, the Southeastern Conferenceof the NCAA was the last to instrgarate black athletes
with the current white ones (Paul 297, 284). Of the ten teams in the conference at the time, the
University of Mississippiwas the last to integrate (Paul 287). This integration of the team took

The Ole Miss football program faced a set back in its integration process as a result of its long
standing racial mentality and the repercussions of the integration of the university itself however,
once the team was integrated, a smooth transition was made. Of the multitude of reasons that
exists why the Ole Miss football program was so delayed in its integration process comes the
necessary role the football program played in keeping the university open during the integration
of the university itself. As the entire university went into turmoil, the football program stood
strong. During the 1962 season, which was played parallel with Meredith s appearance on
campus, the team went undefeated and still is considered one of the greatest teams since. In his
essay explaining the parallel between the integration of Ole Miss and the 62 team, Wright
Thompson states, The 1962 Ole Miss football team fascinated me. That year, perhaps because of
the school s near self destruction over integration, or perhaps in spite of it, the team managed the
most remarkable season seen in Oxford before or since (1). This strong and winning team, lead by
coach Henry Vaught, kept the university running when it looked as though it would implode on
itself. Many turned to the idols of the campus, the football players, to keep

Emotional Disconnection in The Sun Also Rises The Sun Also Rises is a novel that narrates the
life of a group of friends after World War I. It communicates both the physical and emotional tolls
that war has on both humans and society. War changes people usually for the worse. In my
analysis I will delve into many of the characters pasts with major focus on Lady Brett s. Lady
Brett s past acts as a catalyst for her lack of emotional connections in The Sun Also Rises by Ernest
Hemingway.
World War I affected many of the characters emotional states in the novel The Sun Also Rises. The

However, the very thing for which Jake is trying to compensate, his war injury, is the reason Brett

Even low end lacrosse gear keeps a player from getting injured. The helmets protect a person s head

reduce the chances of broken ribs or a broken collarbone. Elbow pads keep a player s elbow from
being damaged. Gloves prevent broken fingers. Cleats offer ankle support to minimize rolled or
broken ankles. Many penalties are called to make lacrosse as safe as possible. Checks, which are
performed when one player hits another player with their stick, are supposed be controlled and
well placed. If a player fails to do this they might get a penalty and they will sit on the sidelines for
a set amount of time. New rules are added to the game to make it safer and more fun. One
examples is a rule against blindside hits. This is when a player hits another before they have a

Adult Attachment Style And Forgiveness
Adult Attachment Style Forgiveness. Adult attachment style may be a key component in
understanding an individual s willingness to forgive a partner after a transgression. Attachment
behavior is dependent on the impact of the close relationships individuals have experienced starting
from childhood. Adult attachment styles include: secure attachment, characterized by a
comfortableness with both intimacy and independence in romantic relationships; anxious
preoccupied attachment, encompassing a strong desire for intimacy and attention from a partner;
dismissive avoidant attachment, including a desire for independence, suppression of feelings, and
denial of the need for intimate relationships; and fearful avoidant attachment, including a desire to
have emotionally close relationships, but also possessing an inability to express emotions, display
affection, and also illustrating mistrust of the intents of a partner.
There is considerable evidence that attachment security is associated with many cognitive,
emotional, and social benefits, and contributes to positive adjustment by fostering an open, flexible,
and optimistic approach to life s diverse and often unpredictable challenges, coined as ego
resilience (Block Block, 1980; Mikulincer Shaver, 2008). This suggests that repeated experiences in
secure attachment relationships may allow for organization and optimization of emotion regulation
strategies, which are aimed at alleviating distress and maintaining comfortable,

The Disputes Of Scs ( South China s Sea )
The disputes of SCS (South China s Sea) are a perpetual issue on the conflicting licit claim for
territorial land and who has the authority to sovereign it. The dispute arises, since SCS contains
precious natural resources, which the surrounding nations wish the gain, as it would boost their
economy, as a liberalist would think. However, realistically these resource would provide funding
for more military power, as countries are looking to expand their horizons across the sea. This
Great Debate impacts the world as there is a theoretical aspect of what would occur if a certain
nationwas given sovereign over the territory. Liberalism allows us to understand that nations have
different intentions and one doesn t know what the other desirers. While realism allows us to
understand the true nature of this dispute over power, since the territory allows nations to create air
carrier, therefore vastly improving and expand their military.
There is a voracity for territory of SCS, since it is imperative to the world s economy, as it is 3.5
million square kilometres, therefore making it the most valuable and busiest maritime trade route
in the world. The Nansha islands also know as Spratly Islands are one of the many disputes, since
the South East Asian nations around it argue their right to sovereign it, China in particular. A
liberalist approach causes us to understand that these islands allow China to protect it s border,
since any threat can be stopped before it reaches

The Truth About War Revealed in the Film, The Thin Red Line
Terrence Malick s The Thin Red Line (1998) is a film that examines the Guadalcanal Battle of
World War II, looking past the physical results of the violence, in order to uncover the deeper
truths and ramifications of war. The film conveys themes and ideologies that are somewhat
uncommon to war films, especially WW II films. In this dark, surreal, journey, Malick takes us
inside the minds of soldiers experiencing this battle to capture a remote pacific island from the
Japanese. We do not hear or see gruff, hardened soldiers, anxious to die for their country. In fact,
there are no heroes in The Thin Red Line. There are only regular men, scared of fighting and scared
of dying, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The film is certainly an anti war film, but it does not place blame. It merely accepts that there is
war, and comments on the effects of it, letting our emotional and mental response do the rest. It
examines war not through the battles and through the violence, but through the emotions of the
soldiers. Geoffrey Macnab, another reviewer of the film, agrees. He states that Г¬In The Thin Red
Line, the battle scenes merely provide the backdrop to MalickГs inquiries into military behavior
and the nature of evil.(Macnab 54). Voice overs throughout the film allow us to get into the heads
of these men. One soldier prays while another man day dreams about his wife in the U.S. One
soldier, after standing among the remains of dozens of dead bodies after his company has taken a
Japanese stronghold, reflects on how the bodies have become no different than those of Г¬dead
dogs.Г® War, then, becomes an unnatural force. It becomes a force that drives regular men to
suppress their natural, human feelings. If it were not for this war, men would not have to convince
themselves that dead bodies are no different than dead dogs, and men would not have to
contemplate about whether or not they can kill another man.
During The Thin Red Line, the island of Guadalcanal becomes a metaphor for natural purity, and is
constantly contrasted with the violence that has invaded its serenity. Malick shot the film with

The Expansion Of The Oil Sands
Canada has always been a leader in the oil sands industry. Over the past few years there has been
controversy in Canada over oil production. Some say we should continue to expand the production

and U.S. researchers say argues that Canada should stop expanding the oil sands. In this paper
both articles are summarized and compared based on factors that could influence the reader. In
this paper I will argue that the article that supports the expansion of the oil sands is more
convincing as it is better organized and the writing style makes the reader think about the issue
more so than the other article. The first article Why Canada needs to develop the oil sands by

diverse and the oil sands are unlikely to expand so much that our economy is totally reliant on
them. The next point the article brings up

government was forced to bail out General Motors and Chrysler. However, this wasn t the first time
the automotive industry had struggled in this nation. The years following the United States

April and May of 2009 saw a defeated Chrysler and General Motors finally declare bankruptcy. A
great deal of Americans lost their jobs when the industry declined, and the automotive companies
turned to the United States Government for help. The government rescued both General Motives
and Chrysler, while Ford merely obtained a credit line to ensure they would have a bridge loan
available if needed.
The decision to bail out these companies was a controversial one, and much of the spotlight was
focused on the then President Obama. Many criticized his support of these companies, and felt that
loaning them money only led to negative economic outcomes. The Big Three used the opportunity
they had been given to make a number of profitable changes to their companies. Not only did they

number of employees that required a payroll every month. Slowly but surely, the automotive

Virginity as a process allows a certain freedom in relationships and self discovery. As an indirect
application of queer theory, process virginity allows a challenge to normative expressions of
virginity. Carpenter s queer interviewees describe their loss of virginity in terms of oral or anal
sex, even when the most popular narrative is the loss of virginity through penile penetration of
the vagina (805). The interviewees constructed their own virginity narratives independently of the
heterosexual and normative prerequisites. On the other hand, virginity as a process and as a
product of queer theory does avoid necessary discussions and deliberations on heterosexual
virginity. As Kitzinger and Wilkinson explore in their article Virgins and Queers: Rehabilitating
Heterosexuality? in Gender and Society, applying queer theory to sex is not always an
appropriate and beneficial analysis. Of the two major responses to virginity as a process, Kitzinger
and Wilkinson present the consequences of queer theory on sex. The inclusivity of queer virginity
evades the discussion of heterosexuality and its pervasiveness in society ( Kitzinger et al 457).
Virginity as a process is a popular personal explanation of sexual activity in the queer community,
but, when applied broadly and to certain contexts, queer theory does not provide a viable narrative.
Expanding virginity as a process includes heterosexual and heteroromantic individuals within the
queer community. Heterosexuality becomes a challenge to the norm and a facet of queer theory as
a method of inclusivity. However, indiscriminate inclusivity effectively erases the notion of
normative and, therefore, the ability to challenge the normative. In essence, process virginity may
be the chosen queer perception of virginity, but this perception does not provide the full story of
virginity for the queer lens. Much

Why Do Machines Have A Good Thing To Have In Our Society
In perspective three it is discussing how machines are a good thing to have in our society, it is
also discussing how we can become more than we already are which means we are able to enhance
our lives because of our knowledge and machines. The other subjects that the statement are trying to
justify are that we as humans have more possibilities, new ideas and a betterintelligence. I agree
with the idea that we are able to better our society along with our lives since we now have
machines. Now that they are in our lives we are able to accomplish more work at a time, as well as
apply that the technologythat we have and advance it within our medical fields. If we begin to use
technology we will then be able to save more lives because we are now discovering new... Show

Since we have phones to help us communicate with one another we hardly look up from them
anymore. Yes phones can be helpful when we are in a bad situation or have to get information to
someone quickly, but there is a time to stop looking at them. We no longer look at people when
we are speaking to them, but down at our phones which I find as rather rude. There was once a
time before we had phones and computers and we would talk to everyone around us and we
were more lively. Since we now have phones it is a partial reason our writing skills have
decreased, people have a harder time of structure a sentence and using punctuation correctly. Not
only are we falling in grammar, but also in shorting our words, such as instead of writing out the
words be right back we put BRB I have seen children write a sentence like this and I see that as
depressing. I believe this could possibly ruin our society later on in time, by not communicating
with one another we will fall apart by not actually communicating with one another and addressing
the problems around us. This is why I agree with the statement perspective number three

Florence Was The Birthplace Of The Italian Renaissance
The Italian Renaissance was a period in history unlike most others; this was an era of ingenuity,
expansion, and enlightenment that would revolutionize both society as the people of the
Renaissance knew it to be, and as the future generations of individuals across the globe understand
it today. Florence held itself out to be the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, yet the people of
this renaissance era never lost sight of the Greek and Roman heritage. The following essay will
discuss the varying ways in which Florencewas the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, and will
provide the reader with examples that demonstrate Greco Roman ideas and practices in the
Italian Renaissance. One of the most obvious examples in which Greco Roman culture was
displayed in the era of the Italian Renaissance was through the works of art; and more
specifically the medium of sculpture. Take for example, the piece by Donatello, Saint Mark, this
piece harkens back to the artwork of the Greek culture by having the character whom is sculpted
to be positioned in the contrappasto style, where the audience may view the drapery covering his
body beneath, particularly his left knee as it projects forward... He is, in other words, a fully
realized human form ; this technique was predominantly used by Greek artists, and was relatively
abandoned by all other artists after the fall of the Greek empire to the Romans (Sayre, 2015). Yet,
the artists of the Italian Renaissance saw the beauty and value of

Richard III by William Shakespeare
Richard woos two women in the play, both in unique ways, however succeeds in the end. He
uses many manipulative patterns and persuasive techniques that help him succeed in his wooing
of both women. As the both of the wooing is done by Richard himself there are many
similarities, nevertheless many differences as the first wooing is to the woman in person and
second wooing is wooing the daughter through her mother. The main difference between the two
scenes are that Richard intended to be king in Act 1 Scene 2 and already is king in Act 4 Scene
4. This may be seen as a disadvantage in the wooing of Anne as he has no power, therefore
cannot offer it and as an advantage in the wooing of Elizabeth as he can offer power as Elizabeth
has lost her power when her husband died. So even though at first she is determined not to give
in, the thought of gaining power changes her mind. Anne, however, is needlessly of power and
only gets persuaded due to Richard s flattery techniques. As both women are in anger with him,
they are prepared to kill him. However, Richard having power can be a disadvantage for
Elizabeth because if she kills him it will be a treason which is much worse than Anne killing him
when he is not king as it will only be classified as a murder. Richard woos Anne to become king
and woos Elizabeth so that their marriagewill forge a nifty alliance between the two divisions. Even

Michael Porter s Value Chain Analysis
The business of ecommerce is rapidly increasing, minute by minute. Companies are finding ways to
deliver their products to their customers quicker and easier. With this demand in progress, gaining
an advantage is an essential key element to the companies success. To distinguish these viable
advantages, Michael Porter created value chainanalysis, which views a firm as a series of business
processes that each add valueto the product or service (Baltzan). The value chain analysis is a
valuable source for regulating the greatest possible value for consumers. This topic will be further
discussed with two major leading companies, Amazon and EBay. The increase in ecommerce will
have an impact on the economy as well.
Section2: Industry and Competitors The industry of ecommerce is a look into the future. Many
believe that Time is Currency and one day shipping will change the business of ecommerce as a
whole. One day shipping is not easy and feasible for all companies because the cost is so high.
The major leading companies of this industry are Amazon, Google, EBay, and Wal Mart, as stated
in the assignment. There are many retail companies and department stores who offer one day
shipping such as Neiman Marcus and Macy s. E commerce delivery business strategies varies
depending on the company. The main competitors discussed throughout this paper will be Amazon

Pros And Cons Of The USA Patriot Act
The USA PATRIOT Act violated many American civil rights and carried out many unnecessary
searches of innocent Americans. It sacrifices civil liberties for government power. The USA
PATRIOT Act, which stands for Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate
Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act, was passed shortly after the attacks of 9

bring a halt to terrorism. However, in his efforts to track down terrorism, the act also violated
American privacy rights. The act violates citizens civil rights by violating the Fourth Amendment of
the US Constitution. The Fourth Amendment states that government agents or law enforcement
officers may only carry out searches and arrest after obtaining search or arrest warrants from the
courts. The act also violates the Fifth Amendment of the US Constitution. The Fifth Amendment
states that all US citizens have the right to due process of law, meaning that no one can be deprived

Discussion Of The Synthesis Of Negatively Charged Anions
Lab #1
1)This compound is ionic because it did not melt when it was heated. Consequently, this indicates
that the compound must have an extremely high melting point, which is one of the characteristics
of ionic compounds due to the highly strong electrostatic force of attraction between positively
charged cations and negatively charged anions (that is, these forces of attraction are so strong that
it requires a large quantity of energy in order for the bonds to be broken). Furthermore, this
compound was highly soluble in water, which is another property of ionic compounds, as when
they dissolve, the ions dissociate and attach themselves to the polar ends of water molecules
(cations are attracted to the localized negative poles of the oxygen atoms; anions are attracted to the
localized positive poles of the hydrogen atoms). Finally, the last indicator that the compound is
ionic is that the compound was an electrolyte; that is, the compound was able to conduct electricity
due to the ions present within the solution, which move towards the oppositely ... Show more

It becomes evident that the compound involves non polar molecules because the compound also
did not dissolve in water. Consequently, the compound was unable to conduct electricity, as the
compound was insoluble and did not contain ions, and it was unable to dissolve and form dipole
dipole interactions with the polar water molecules. Thus, this indicates that the compound must be
non polar, as the only forces of attraction between molecules are the London dispersion forces, as
the compound either only contains non covalent bonds and/or is symmetrical. This assumption can
be corroborated due to the low melting point of the compound and subsequently, the very weak

What Are The Causes Of The Age Of Exploration
The Age of Exploration, starting from the 15th century and lasting until the beginning of the 17th
century, was a period of time in which the Europeans explored the Americas and Africa while
searching for a more efficient trade route with Asia. However, the Europeans did not just discover

The first cause of the Age of Exploration was God which resulted in an expansion of Christianity.

In the beginning of the 16th century, the importation of gold was close to zero but a century after
Columbus found America, the income of gold from the new world reached almost 7 millions of

sending missionaries to convert and conquistadors to kill the native population and use their lands.
The whole scheme of the Europeans was created by the desire to import more resources in their
countries. This leads to the discovery of new continents which resources and native people are
exploited by most of the coastal countries in Europe. However, the huge import of precious metals
leads to inflation. That makes countries like Spain and Portuguese one the richest and most powerful

Select five sources. Explain how useful these sources have been in informing you in your

Introduction The five sources that I have selected to help with my enquiry are photographs, an
extract from a newspaper article and a soldier s diary. The reasons why I chose these five
particular sources is because I believe that they are a wide variety of selections, dating back to
many years, all ranging from the start of the war to the end of the war. However, one of my

They could fire up to six hundred rounds per minute and was able to cut down the lines of

down/cut down the lines of attackers very easily. There were many more weapons used.
However, this source does not show any of these weapons or how it is being used at the Western
Front. It also does not tell us or show us how many people were injured or died in the first battle
of the Somme, but from my own knowledge I know that there were sixty thousand casualties on
the first day of the battle of the Somme. Casualties includes both dead and wounded. The normal
proportion was about four wounded for every man killed, so approximately twelve thousand died
and fourty eight thousand were wounded. Because this photograph is quite a close up one you
begin to question whether or not this image was actually staged. The soldiers are actually looking

Building A Wireless Infrastructure Backbone System
Introduction
Currently much importance is given to optimizing business without affecting the production and
process. When a new distribution centre s build or an existing one is being upgraded with a
warehouse management system, a wireless network structure should be provided which need to be
regarded as the integral part of the process. This is an important part because connection issues may
arise due to lack in connectivity without wireless connection. Eventually this will impact the data
collection capabilities from other floors, mostly form the ground to top floor (Lu, W., Giannikas,
V., McFarlane, D., Hyde, J. (2014). A wireless networkinfrastructure building starts with a design
and then with a map which will describe the mapping of the wireless access points. It also needs to
create a plan for installing the cable which will run throughout the distribution centre. The reason
behind this planning is to build a wireless infrastructure backbone that will be implemented and
which can have the capability to support the whole planning in the distribution centre. To get proper
wireless signals throughout the premises a well planning of the wireless system is essential along
with successful implementation.
Planning and Implementation

elements and components which need to be taken care of while project implementation. Plenty of

Copping Research Paper
Coping is the active effort to master, reduce or tolerate the demands which are created by stress.
When a person is going through a stressful event, the adrenal glands release catecholamines into
the bloodstream. This mobilizes the body for action. Along with this, the hypothalamus sends
signals to the pituitary gland which secretes the hormone (ACTH) which, in turn, stimulates a
release of hormones called corticosteroids. These stimulate the release of chemicals that increase
a person s energy and inhibits inflammation of tissues if a person gets injured. All of this is going

JeremГas.
Profeta Joel.
En ese rollo encontramos a Oseas¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬, Joel, Amos,

Effective Use Of Revenge In Shakespeare s Hamlet
Within William Shakespeare s tremendously successful Hamlet, various literary techniques are
implemented into the bombastic, dialogue based text in order to effectively convey the theme,
which drives the tragic tale: revenge. Hamlet is the Prince of Denmark, set on a quest for revenge
by a ghostly figure oddly resembling his recently murdered father. Within this gripping tale,
Shakespeare describes Hamlets descent into madness as Hamlet becomes ruthlessly obsessed with
the idea of revenge. The literary technique most employed within this composition is a proficient
use of characterization that expresses Hamlet s continuous descent into madness, as he becomes
consumed with a lust for revenge. What furthers the reasoning that revenge is a dominant theme
within the piece is the recurrence of the yearning for retribution. It can be assessed that
Shakespeare does not take kindly to the idea of revenge, based upon the way in which it is... Show

To respond to any given situation, characters within this tragedy use the actions of others as a
means of justifying their own. This is an indirect example of revenge. An instance of this would
be Hamlet s mother responding to King Hamlet s death by going on to immediately marry the
King s brother. While her actions may not have been in spite, her response is still reactive and
destructive of the personal lives of those around her, specifically Hamlet, who quickly develops a
loathing and distrust for women, due to his mother s unfaithful ways.
Hamlet is not a performance piece that singularly focuses upon the horrendous consequences,
caused by the seeking of revenge. It may also be perceived as an intellectual piece that incorporates
critical thinking to pursue a reasonable response to situations. This is demonstrated in Hamlet s
decision as of whether or not to eliminate Claudius when the opportunity presented

INTRODUCCIГ“N

When I was in high school, I was included in every aspect of team decision making. The players

Podcast 1 Response Essay
Podcast 1 Response: How to be More Productive In my life I find it very easy to be productive if
you stay motivated and focused on the tasks at hand (as mentioned in the podcast); however, I
find it very easy to get distracted by others, televisions, or even social media. One connection I
can make involves my work with a lab group I was assigned to work with during a summer
program. Our task was to complete a final project on the basis of plant pigment labs. Now
reflecting on the work I did with my group, I realized that we all followed many of the productivity
tips that Charles Duhigg mentioned such as including everyone equally in the team, socializing
sparingly, creating trust with one another, and setting goals to be reached. My group... Show more

In fact, my assumption was the complete opposite and I now know from the podcasts that people
who work on multiple tasks at the same time that are different from each other are more productive
because different tasks lead to learning which assigns values to the tasks. When someone has
meaning for the tasks at hand then he or she will be more productive. Another misconception that
I believed was that productivity and efficiency were the same thing, but from the podcast I know
they are different. Productivity involves being more alert with one s surroundings and focusing
on certain tasks to accomplish instead of just doing things mindlessly in a quick manner.
Something I assumed would increase productivity but was not sure until I listened to the podcast
was reflection on the past. My APUSH teacher Mr. Lee gave my class several times to reflect
because he said we never actually do so on our own time. Now I know from the podcast that
reflecting allows us to see if we are doing meaningful things (having meaning associated with tasks
leads to productivity) and if not then we can adjust our lives to be more meaningful hence increasing

Three Facts About The Human Brain
After reading both of the articles on the human brain, I have learned a lot of things that I never
knew of. But the three facts that I learned about the brain that I didn t know before was on the
national geographic site, the article brain stated that the brain s nerve cells are known as neutrons,
which make up the organ s so called gray matter (National Geographic, n.d.). That the cerebellum
which is the second largest part of the brainis responsible for coordinating muscle movement and
controlling our balance, and the cerebellum transmits information to the spinal cord and other parts
of the brain (National Geographic, n.d.). Also on The Human Brainarticle the limbic system
regulates body temperature, blood pressure, blood sugar level, and other housekeeping activities.
Also, the limbic system exists only in mammals (The human brain, 2001).... Show more content on

I didn t know much about the brain actually until I read the two article that was provided. But it is
helpful because it s good to know which part of the brain causes different problems. For example, in
the Brain article it states that the hypothalamus controls hormone and the hormones govern growth
and instinctual behavior such as eating, drinking, anger and reproduction (National Geographic,
n.d.). Also, it s good to know what each part of the brain is and what it does like the cerebrum is the
largest part of the brain and it has two halves that divides into four region or lobes in each half.
The frontal lobes are involved with speech, thought, learning, emotion, and movement. The parietal
lobes, which process sensory information like touch, temperature and pain. The occipital lobes
deal with the vision and the temporal lobes are involved with hearing and memory (National
Geographic, n.d.). Each of these lobes could be the effect of memory loss or any kind of brain

Our Culture is Defined by those Around Us
Culture is defined to the group of people which learned behavior that has already gave the
instruction from previous generation through next generation by imitation and language (Adler
1983 citing Barnouw 1963). Also Schein (1990) describes that culture is a lesson that a group has
been studied and solved the problem for internal integration and learnt to survive from external
environment for over period of time. For example, behavior, cognition and emotion processes and
in the deepest level which is included perception, language and thought processes such as attitudes
and feelings. For most of organizations nowadays have to face with an increasing of a diversity of
employees which are multicultural employees especially for multinational corporation(MNC)
(Fitzsimmons 2013). To deal with different cultures and nationalities, the companies and managers
have to learn and understand their employees such as common language, knowledge sharing and
performance (Lauring Selmer 2011) then see how multicultural individuals can help and contribute
the organizations (Fitzsimmons, Miska Stahl 2011) and set the policies or principles for
employees could be followed (Demo et al. 2012).

improved and have better coordinate, it leads to increase the performance besides other researches

Violins, flutes, ruffs, and farthingales. Where are they all from you ask, the Elizabethan Era.
Music has always been important to society, but during the Elizabethan Era it played an extreme
role. This paper will give readers a deeper understanding of the music during the Elizabethan Era
and what it was to be a musician in that time. Welcome to the Elizabethan Era. Well everyone loves
music. Music deals with almost everything. Instrumental music was very popular during the
Elizabethan Era. There were many instruments. The most popular solo instruments of the time were
the virginal and the lute. The virginal was a popular variant of the harpsichord among the English
and one of Elizabeth s favorite instruments to play. The introduction of new musical instruments
such as the early violin called the viol, the early oboe called the hautboy and the keyboard musical
instruments called the spinet, harpsichord and the virginals provided the sounds which produced a
much more refined sound than had been produced during the Medieval era. They really used the
same instruments we do now. The only difference is it just looks different than it did back then. The
instruments we use look modern and probably sound a little better than they did back then.... Show

For example, a fiduciary relationship exist between two parties, when a party expects the other to
act for him in such a manner as he would act in absolute honesty, faithfulness and diligence, not
minding the fact that he is acting for someone else. If he cannot steal his personal money, then he
cannot steal the money put in his care. Common law provides quite a number of duties of a director
to a company, however, only few of them relates with insider dealings. Some of these duties include:
The duty to act bonafide in the Company s interest.
A director is expected to act honestly, diligently and faithfully in the best interest of the comp any.
This duty is however relative. What happens to be in the best interest of the company to a director
may differ from the shareholders view. In the case of Park v. Daily Times Ltd., the court held that
the directors had acted improperly and not bonafide for the company s interest, when they made
redundancy payments to the company s employees on the cessation of the company s business.
Duty to avoid conflict of Interest.
In the performance of his duties, a director must not allow a conflict of interest between him and the
company. To be strictly avoided are instances in which a director s personal interest would conflict
with the interest of the company, which he is expected to protect. This was the situation in

  • 2. Human Nature And Culture Being Responsible For Warfare There is little interpretation necessary when two groups of men are painted shooting arrows at one another or when skeletal remains are recovered inflicted by human weapons that predate to when hunters gatherers once lived. This goes against the philosopher, Jean Jacques Rousseau s theory of warfare, which opposes humannature and culture being responsible for warfare, but as being a result of civilization. Evidence says otherwise. Warfare came before civilization had begun, but differently from the war we know today. The way of life was completely different, resulting in the way humans fought to also differ; from tactics and weapons to the reasons why they even fought to begin with. Evidence such as our closest living relatives, the chimpanzees, which contains a difference of two percent from our DNA (Dyer, 2005). Chimpanzees share a lot of similar characteristic, which Jane Goodall has discovered though out her 40 years of research. I will also explore different pre civilization tribes that also display recognizable war like behaviour, and the different findings to support that. Lastly, that brings us to the physical evidence that archaeologists have recovered over the years, such as human remains bearing weapons traumas suggesting death from these injuries were inflicted by human weapons such as, fractured bones, spear wounds, and stone blade lodged between the ribs. But first, I will begin with how hunter gatherers once lived to help you better understand the way of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Emotion, Memory, And Decision Making Emotional arousal appears to have a huge effect on processing, memory, and decision making. For memories specifically, we tend to rehearse and review episodes of intense emotions frequently, allowing them to be stronger and more relevant memories (Gluck, 2014). Flashbulb memories suggest that emotion can greatly increase memorycoding, though is still subject to misattribution errors. Still, evidence suggests that emotion can boost memory encoding (Webbe slides). When creating emotional experiences in a story against a non emotional story, explicit memory was strengthened by emotion (Webbe slides). These factors influence the way memory of stored, but an effect known as mood congruency of memory effect how memory is retrieved. This effect states that it is easier to retrieve memories based on our current mood. In this way, people who are depressed and asked to recall memories will recall sad ones, and people asked to recall episodic memories from neutral nouns would recall memories that match their current mood states (Webbe slides). Life stressors can impact the development or retrieval of memory, resulting in distorted or false memories. This could result from psychological stress or trauma, resulting in functional amnesia. Additionally, guided imagery or hypnosis recovered memories can be distorted, resulting in false memories and can make it difficult to distinguish false memories from recovered ones. As long as the presence of differences there are many similarities that actually exist. • 5. What Steroids Can Do To Your Body A bloodcurdling feeling spreads throughout the arena, a smell so menacing that even the men inside the ring don t know what will happen next. The roars of men are zipping through the air as bodies are torn limb from limb. Grotesque as this image may be only a few hundred years ago were people competing in stadiums adorned by thousands of viewers. Competition has always been a part of humannature, ever since the first man put his foot onto this planet the race has been on. Certainly competition has changed as years have gone by. First we competed for food on a daily basis, competition was needed in order to just make it through the day, as many years began to pass competition began to turn into daze in which people could watch others fight for their lives fighting against creatures from other parts of the world unknown to their own. Today, we no longer face the life or death bouts over a single meal. The sense of competition has not dulled, yet it has been moved from a daily survival to more of an extravagance for viewers to behold the abilities of others in awe. These days, the most anticipated competitions are held in football stadiums, boxing rings, and weight rooms. The rewards for today s gladiators consist of bragging rights over a rival, worldwide notoriety, and large sums of money. Unique Capabilities Of Modelling Construction Materials Capdeivila Werning (2011) writes that buildings, including the Kampung house, can open our understanding of the unique capabilities of modelling construction materials in specific environments. These houses are not built by commercial architects or designers but by experienced village master builders, through the soul, the hands and labourers of the community. This allows each houseto take on a unique personality and character reflecting its inhabitants. The beauty of this architecture has long been dismissed as accidental, but today we should be able to recognize it as the result of rare good sense in the handling of practical problems. The shape of the houses, sometimes transmitted through a hundred generations, seem eternally valid, like those of their tools (Rudofsky,1964, p4). A popular design detail introduced in the traditional Kampung house is wood carvingwhich responds to the culture and community. Wood carving is an extremely difficult and precious talent passed down through generations. However, it is a dying practice and has become an expensive business only unique to those interested in the preservation of the Kampung house style and those who appreciate the art. Everyone has their own opinion, I am without a doubt prolife. Abortion should be illegal for thousands of reason. • 14. Adult Attachment Style And Forgiveness Adult Attachment Style Forgiveness. Adult attachment style may be a key component in understanding an individual s willingness to forgive a partner after a transgression. Attachment behavior is dependent on the impact of the close relationships individuals have experienced starting from childhood. Adult attachment styles include: secure attachment, characterized by a comfortableness with both intimacy and independence in romantic relationships; anxious preoccupied attachment, encompassing a strong desire for intimacy and attention from a partner; dismissive avoidant attachment, including a desire for independence, suppression of feelings, and denial of the need for intimate relationships; and fearful avoidant attachment, including a desire to have emotionally close relationships, but also possessing an inability to express emotions, display affection, and also illustrating mistrust of the intents of a partner. There is considerable evidence that attachment security is associated with many cognitive, emotional, and social benefits, and contributes to positive adjustment by fostering an open, flexible, and optimistic approach to life s diverse and often unpredictable challenges, coined as ego resilience (Block Block, 1980; Mikulincer Shaver, 2008). The Truth About War Revealed in the Film, The Thin Red Line Terrence Malick s The Thin Red Line (1998) is a film that examines the Guadalcanal Battle of World War II, looking past the physical results of the violence, in order to uncover the deeper truths and ramifications of war. The film conveys themes and ideologies that are somewhat uncommon to war films, especially WW II films. In this dark, surreal, journey, Malick takes us inside the minds of soldiers experiencing this battle to capture a remote pacific island from the Japanese. He states that Г¬In The Thin Red Line, the battle scenes merely provide the backdrop to MalickГs inquiries into military behavior and the nature of evil.(Macnab 54). As Kitzinger and Wilkinson explore in their article Virgins and Queers: Rehabilitating Heterosexuality? in Gender and Society, applying queer theory to sex is not always an appropriate and beneficial analysis. Of the two major responses to virginity as a process, Kitzinger and Wilkinson present the consequences of queer theory on sex. The inclusivity of queer virginity evades the discussion of heterosexuality and its pervasiveness in society ( Kitzinger et al 457). Virginity as a process is a popular personal explanation of sexual activity in the queer community, but, when applied broadly and to certain contexts, queer theory does not provide a viable narrative. Expanding virginity as a process includes heterosexual and heteroromantic individuals within the queer community. Heterosexuality becomes a challenge to the norm and a facet of queer theory as a method of inclusivity. However, indiscriminate inclusivity effectively erases the notion of normative and, therefore, the ability to challenge the normative. In essence, process virginity may be the chosen queer perception of virginity, but this perception does not provide the full story of virginity for the queer lens. Much ... Why Do Machines Have A Good Thing To Have In Our Society In perspective three it is discussing how machines are a good thing to have in our society, it is also discussing how we can become more than we already are which means we are able to enhance our lives because of our knowledge and machines. The other subjects that the statement are trying to justify are that we as humans have more possibilities, new ideas and a betterintelligence. I agree with the idea that we are able to better our society along with our lives since we now have machines. Now that they are in our lives we are able to accomplish more work at a time, as well as apply that the technologythat we have and advance it within our medical fields. There was once a time before we had phones and computers and we would talk to everyone around us and we were more lively. Since we now have phones it is a partial reason our writing skills have decreased, people have a harder time of structure a sentence and using punctuation correctly. Not only are we falling in grammar, but also in shorting our words, such as instead of writing out the words be right back we put BRB I have seen children write a sentence like this and I see that as depressing. Florence Was The Birthplace Of The Italian Renaissance The Italian Renaissance was a period in history unlike most others; this was an era of ingenuity, expansion, and enlightenment that would revolutionize both society as the people of the Renaissance knew it to be, and as the future generations of individuals across the globe understand it today. Florence held itself out to be the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, yet the people of this renaissance era never lost sight of the Greek and Roman heritage. The following essay will discuss the varying ways in which Florencewas the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, and will provide the reader with examples that demonstrate Greco Roman ideas and practices in the Italian Renaissance. One of the most obvious examples in which Greco Roman culture was displayed in the era of the Italian Renaissance was through the works of art; and more specifically the medium of sculpture. Take for example, the piece by Donatello, Saint Mark, this piece harkens back to the artwork of the Greek culture by having the character whom is sculpted to be positioned in the contrappasto style, where the audience may view the drapery covering his body beneath, particularly his left knee as it projects forward... He is, in other words, a fully realized human form ; this technique was predominantly used by Greek artists, and was relatively abandoned by all other artists after the fall of the Greek empire to the Romans (Sayre, 2015). He uses many manipulative patterns and persuasive techniques that help him succeed in his wooing of both women. As the both of the wooing is done by Richard himself there are many similarities, nevertheless many differences as the first wooing is to the woman in person and second wooing is wooing the daughter through her mother. The main difference between the two scenes are that Richard intended to be king in Act 1 Scene 2 and already is king in Act 4 Scene 4. This may be seen as a disadvantage in the wooing of Anne as he has no power, therefore cannot offer it and as an advantage in the wooing of Elizabeth as he can offer power as Elizabeth has lost her power when her husband died. So even though at first she is determined not to give in, the thought of gaining power changes her mind. Anne, however, is needlessly of power and only gets persuaded due to Richard s flattery techniques. As both women are in anger with him, they are prepared to kill him. However, Richard having power can be a disadvantage for Elizabeth because if she kills him it will be a treason which is much worse than Anne killing him when he is not king as it will only be classified as a murder. Consequently, this indicates that the compound must have an extremely high melting point, which is one of the characteristics of ionic compounds due to the highly strong electrostatic force of attraction between positively charged cations and negatively charged anions (that is, these forces of attraction are so strong that it requires a large quantity of energy in order for the bonds to be broken). Furthermore, this compound was highly soluble in water, which is another property of ionic compounds, as when they dissolve, the ions dissociate and attach themselves to the polar ends of water molecules (cations are attracted to the localized negative poles of the oxygen atoms; anions are attracted to the localized positive poles of the hydrogen atoms). Finally, the last indicator that the compound is ionic is that the compound was an electrolyte; that is, the compound was able to conduct electricity due to the ions present within the solution, which move towards the oppositely ... Consequently, the compound was unable to conduct electricity, as the compound was insoluble and did not contain ions, and it was unable to dissolve and form dipole dipole interactions with the polar water molecules. Thus, this indicates that the compound must be non polar, as the only forces of attraction between molecules are the London dispersion forces, as the compound either only contains non covalent bonds and/or is symmetrical. This is an important part because connection issues may arise due to lack in connectivity without wireless connection. Eventually this will impact the data collection capabilities from other floors, mostly form the ground to top floor (Lu, W., Giannikas, V., McFarlane, D., Hyde, J. (2014). A wireless networkinfrastructure building starts with a design and then with a map which will describe the mapping of the wireless access points. Effective Use Of Revenge In Shakespeare s Hamlet Within William Shakespeare s tremendously successful Hamlet, various literary techniques are implemented into the bombastic, dialogue based text in order to effectively convey the theme, which drives the tragic tale: revenge. Hamlet is the Prince of Denmark, set on a quest for revenge by a ghostly figure oddly resembling his recently murdered father. Within this gripping tale, Shakespeare describes Hamlets descent into madness as Hamlet becomes ruthlessly obsessed with the idea of revenge. The literary technique most employed within this composition is a proficient use of characterization that expresses Hamlet s continuous descent into madness, as he becomes consumed with a lust for revenge. What furthers the reasoning that revenge is a dominant theme within the piece is the recurrence of the yearning for retribution. It can be assessed that Shakespeare does not take kindly to the idea of revenge, based upon the way in which it is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hamlet is not a performance piece that singularly focuses upon the horrendous consequences, caused by the seeking of revenge. • 42. Podcast 1 Response Essay Podcast 1 Response: How to be More Productive In my life I find it very easy to be productive if you stay motivated and focused on the tasks at hand (as mentioned in the podcast); however, I find it very easy to get distracted by others, televisions, or even social media. One connection I can make involves my work with a lab group I was assigned to work with during a summer program. Our task was to complete a final project on the basis of plant pigment labs. Now reflecting on the work I did with my group, I realized that we all followed many of the productivity tips that Charles Duhigg mentioned such as including everyone equally in the team, socializing sparingly, creating trust with one another, and setting goals to be reached. My group... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In fact, my assumption was the complete opposite and I now know from the podcasts that people who work on multiple tasks at the same time that are different from each other are more productive because different tasks lead to learning which assigns values to the tasks. When someone has meaning for the tasks at hand then he or she will be more productive. Another misconception that I believed was that productivity and efficiency were the same thing, but from the podcast I know they are different. Productivity involves being more alert with one s surroundings and focusing on certain tasks to accomplish instead of just doing things mindlessly in a quick manner. Something I assumed would increase productivity but was not sure until I listened to the podcast was reflection on the past. My APUSH teacher Mr. Lee gave my class several times to reflect because he said we never actually do so on our own time. Now I know from the podcast that reflecting allows us to see if we are doing meaningful things (having meaning associated with tasks leads to productivity) and if not then we can adjust our lives to be more meaningful hence increasing ...
