Interview Narrative
I loved living in New York. The always busy city s streets and the diversity of the people residing
there gave the metropolis strong character. For ten months, I had been practicing law in the city and
enjoying my job a lot until that fateful day when my fiancée ended our engagement. Following the
breakup, my job became my sanctuary, a place where I did not think about life. I had a very important
meeting with a prominent executive name Brian Ross, who had hired our firm to represent his little
sister in an International criminal case. Mr. Ross was beyond wealthy and had attorneys at his
disposal, but our firm had more experience handling International cases. His sister stood accused of
drug possession in a foreign country, a very serious ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He was in his late 30s, had blond hair, blue eyes, very handsome, and much taken. Sarah, his fiancée,
was a lovely woman and I had grown closer to her in the aftermath of my breakup. Like David, she
was blond, tall and beautiful. At present, she was attending culinary school to become a chef. When
David was in law school, she worked two jobs to support them both until David finished his law
degree. They scheduled their wedding for the following year and honored me with an invitation to
their special day, which I was helping Sarah plan. My closest friend Liz found it ironic I was helping
Sarah with her wedding after I cancelled mine, but for me it was cathartic. Working with David on this
case, elicit so much excitement from me, not only because it was a high profile case, but also because
it would, without question, benefit my career s welfare I was a great attorney, but David was brilliant
when it came to criminal law. As my mentor, David would help me learn my trade better. I was
surprised he asked me to assist him with the case, considering my late involvement. The short noticed
I was given did not allowed me to be better prepared, but I trusted David s judgment. Just as I was
placing my notes on the table, Mr. Smith walked in the room, followed by Mr. Ross close behind and
at that moment my world came to a screeching halt. Not him. I thought. I had not seen him since we

How Does The Bad Seed Support The Nature-Nurture Theory
The Bad Seed
The Nature Nurture theory is a big issue in psychology. In this theory, the nature portion of it says that
we get all our knowledge from our genes. It s the biological side to this theory but, there s also an
environmental side to this theory. The environmental side is the nurture portion to this theory. Nurture
says that we get all of our knowledge through experiences. Also where, who, and how we grow up.
The Bad Seed does support the Nature Nurture Theory because it provides evidence that it could be
nature or nurture in Rhoda s situation. This movie provides a great example of nature because
Christine, Rhonda s mother, find s out she was adopted and that Bessie Denker, her biological mother,
was a well known killer. Christine

Congenital Heart Diseases ( Chd )
Introduction
Congenital heart diseases (CHD) are defects in the heart that are present from birth and affect 8 in
every 1,000 newborns each year (National Heart Lung and Blood Institute, 2011). Hypertrophic
cardiomyopathy (HCM) is the most common congenital disease of the heart (O Hanlon and Pennell,
2009) and the most common cause of sudden cardiac death (SCD) among apparently healthy athletes
and younger generations (Maron, 1995; Maron and Maron, 2013). HCM is a condition in which there
is abnormal thickening of the myocardium in the left ventricle (LV), also know as left ventricular
hypertrophy (LVH), where the heart is not dilated and there is no other systemic or cardiac cause
(Maron et al 2003; Maron et al 2006). Although many patients are asymptomatic to HCM, some
patient s will present with, or develop progressive exercise intolerance, heart failure symptoms and
SCD (Keren et al 2008).
The prevalence of HCM worldwide is 1:500 making it the most common heritable congenital heart
disorder (O Hanlon, 2010). Annual mortality rates for presenting patient s range from 1% within the
general community, to 3 6% from tertiary referral centres (Noureldin et al, 2012). This range is most
likely due to the fact that tertiary centres are specialist centres, and patients suspected to have HCM
would be referred straight to a tertiary centre. There is currently no evidence to suggest that incidence
or mortality is affected by gender (Maron et al, 2002).

Science is not only an important role in the human culture, but also (science) helps people in
multifarious ways in today s world. However, people said that science will hurt human, and they set a
block on the scientific road. In the article Enemies of Promise wrote by the professor of microbiology
at University of California, San Francisco who named Bishop, Michael J. He mentions about even

In our real lives, the society usually improves through science. In the article Cars and Their Enemies
wrote by James Q. Wilson, he talks about how cars bring people conveniences and improve the
society. He also states that car makes people s lives freer and more pleasurable (Wilson ). As
everybody know, the United States is a country on wheels, especially in Southern California. Cars are
very important for a person who lives in the suburbs of Southern California, students need them to go
to school, ladies need it to go to the mall, and guys need it to go to gym. Otherwise, people will have
to limit the chooses of their house. Moreover, Wilson also mentions that people always love to choose
transportation based on individual instead of social preferences. In other words, cars provide
convenient living and option to people, and this is what science brings to people. We should support
and respect science instead of adopt a hostile attitude towards science because of what it did to

Reflection Of Consumer Chemistry
INTRODUCTION: Nowadays, people here in this world are using science in their everyday lives.
When you fry a fish, there s a science. When you wash your clothes, there s a science behind it.
Everything is science. There are different branches of science. Including Biology, Botany, Zoology,
and many more. But one of the most used in everyday life in the branches of science is the
CHEMISTRY. It is a branch of physical science that deals with composition, structure, properties and
changes of matter. Chemistry is the one who is responsible for photosynthesis (plants making food for
their own). But Consumer chemistry is the one that deals with humans in our everyday lives.
Consumer Chemistry is the branch of Chemistry that makes consumable products. Consumer

I ve learned mny topics in Consumer Chemistry but one of the mot important lesson and the hardest
(for me) is the Redox or Oxidation Reduction Reaction. Why is it the hardest topic for me? Well, at
first, while our teacher was discussing this, I thought that this lesson is pretty easy because I
understand all her lessons and I had no problem absorbing the lessons. Butwhen the day after comes, I
was already confused on how to do the Redox. I tried to approach my classmates who are great in
Consumer Chemistry. But I always forget it after that and got confused again. And I think, that s the
reason I got a very low score on our summative test. After that test, I promised to myself that I will
strive hard for me to get a high score on our periodical test. That s why I made this learning module, to

Oral B 3000 Review
If you are looking to pick up an electronic toothbrush on a budget then the oral b pro 3000 is the
toothbrush for you based on this oral b 3000 review you are about to read. Sure, it is still pricey, but
not as pricey as some of the other electric toothbrushes on the market. Let us take a closer look at what
the oral b professional 3000 has to offer.
Benefits of the Oral B 3000
This product is advertised to remove around 97% of plaque from tough areas to reach with a manual
toothbrush. It is also helpful at preventing and reversing gingivitis. The oral b 3000 electric brush is
advertised to improve whiteness in teeth in as little as 21 days. When you brush too hard the pressure

Battery Life: Unlike some of the newer products on the market this brushes battery life doesn t last as
long. Usual battery life is around a week.
The oral b 3000 toothbrush does all the work for you. You simply wet the brush, put toothpaste on it,
turn it on, and watch it clean your mouth by simply guiding it while it does the rest. Hopefully you
have learned enough information so far in this oral b 3000 review, but let s go a little further and stack
it up against another similar newer brush.
Oral B 3000 VS 5000
How is the oral b 3000 vs 5000 different and similar? First, let us go over the similarities. Both
toothbrushes use the same technology, which is rated to remove almost one hundred percent of plaque.
Another similarity is battery life, even though the oral b 5000 slightly edges the 3000 by lasting three
days longer. It lasts ten days as opposed to the 3000 s seven, as this oral b 3000 review mentioned
earlier. Lastly, both brushes come with a pressure sensor to allow users to know when to stop brushing
too hard. The difference between both toothbrushes include different modes. The 5000 includes all the
modes plus a massage mode and deep clean. It also has a smart guide for brushing and information.

what legal defenses might my company have? Also, how will this affect Mr. Marshall if I stop doing

I had started doing business together in Good Faith (No Contract). During this time, I supplied

customers. As time went on in the interest for my grapes rose. My son who was 17 at the time did the

Marshall gave him a contract to sign. My son asked question before signing this contract, but he nor
Mr. Marshall informed me of this Contract. I need to know my rights; can this contract be voidable
since it was without my knowledge and my son was under the age of 18 at the time Mr. Marshall had
him to sign the contract? Legal Information Let s take this moment to review the legal side of things.
According to Contract A contract is an agreement between private parties that have created mutual
obligations, which are enforceable by law. A contract is usually governed by the state and in this case,
it happens to be Mississippi. As said before, Mr. Marshall and I did not have a contract in the
beginning. He created a contract, which in turned had my son to sign (said contract) telling him just a
formality . Alabama law states 18 under emancipation and 19 is the majority age. Minor 15 or more at

Vatican s Involvement In Pope Pius XII
Yes, to an extent, I do believe that the Vatican could have done more especially in terms of Pope Pius
XII s direct involvement . From reading the scholarly work by Conway (1989) and Zuccotti (2005), it
is seen that there has been a lot of criticism as to the Pope s effort to save Jewish people who were
being murdered by the Nazi s prior to and during the holocaust . By looking at Zuccotti s work, it can
be understood that whilst the Church and the Vatican s members did provide shelter to the Jews that
were being attacked, it is seen that there was no instruction from the Pope himself at that time to help
the Jews and thus these members were in essence behaving in a way that they believed would be
approved by the Pope, as part of the

Figurative Language In My Antonia
The novel My Antonia uses imagery and figurative language to help communicate the theme of the
novel to the readers. The character Jim Burden is headed west to Nebraska to his grandparents from
Virginia after his parents have died. Jim is playing the role of Manifest Destiny by moving West to
Nebraska. On his way Jim sees how raw the earth is, relating that it is not yet a country, but rather the
material that countries are made of. Looking at the land this way is very much like Manifest Destiny.
The author uses imagery many times throughout her novel to give the readers a better understanding
and view to pinpoint the theme. There seemed to be nothing to see; no fences, no creeks or trees, no
hills or fields. If there was a road, I could not make it out in the faint starlight. There was nothing but
land...I had never before looked up at the sky when there was not a familiar mountain ridge against it.
But this was the complete dome of heaven, all there was of it. I did not believe that my dead father and
mother were watching me from up there; they would still be looking for me at the sheep fold down by
the creek.... I had left even their spirits behind me. The wagon jolted on, carrying me I knew not
whither. I don t think I was homesick. If we never arrived anywhere, it did not matter. Between that
earth and that sky I felt erased, blotted out. I did not say my prayers that night: here, I felt, what would
be would be. This new surrounding is the beginning of an adventure for

Media Improve Communication
The Way Social Media Improve Communication Between People
The creation of social media is important technology that has positive effects on individual s life.
Also, It can help to people have a great communication with each other that is very useful. On the
other hand, some people argue that social media provide a negative effect in our lives. In additional,
they believe, some people might use these tools in the wrong way. For example, some people use this
tool for a long time that waste their time. However, I believe networking sites is a very important
innovation for having a better communication with other people. In my opinion, there are several ways
that prove social media improves the way that we communicate with each other, including possibility
of voice and video calls, improve business with build relationship between people and ability share
information to each other.
Some people argue that excessive use of social media is not acceptable, because it will lead to waste
their time. For example, some children might use social media for long hours, so this action create
some addiction between children, also they will waste their precious times of their lives. In addition,
many people spend much of their time to talk with their families with social media such as, Facebook,
Twitter and Telegram that cause individuals cannot appropriately use of their time. Another reason that
prove social media networking sites waste valuable our time is, unfortunately some of the

on April 30, 1863 in the rural Spotsylvania County, Virginia and ended 6 days later on May 6, 1863.
The battle was a result of the Union trying to take control of the Confederate capital, Richmond,

Green And Clean Rhetorical Analysis In 150 Words
Green and Clean is an article written by Jennifer Weeks published on August 1, 2014. The article
informs the audience about how chemists are finding new ways to save energy, cut waste, and boost
safety. In the excerpt from Chemistry: Green and Clean, the author, Jennifer Weeks, builds an
argument that green chemists are working to develop a field of chemistry that can replace polluting
technologies. Jennifer Weeks uses evidence, reasoning, and stylistic elements to describe how green
chemists identify chemical products or processes that are toxic and wasteful, change chemical
processes so they are less energy consuming, and swap out harmful ingredients for nontoxic
alternatives. In the article, Jennifer Weeks regularly provides factual evidence to strengthen the logic
and persuasiveness of her argument. For example, Weeks states, The 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill
released almost 5 million barrels of crude oil in the Gulf. She explains how Ramaswamy Nagarajan, a
plastics engineer at the University of Massachusetts, learned that the bacteria that started breaking
down the oil had made natural surfactants called polysaccharides. Weeks includes that ... Show more

Barry B. Powell s Sedna, Mistress Of The Underworld
Sedna, mistress of the underworld is an Inuit myth that has been around for hundreds of years and
passed down generations. It is not clear when who the author or the myth is or when the myth started
being told since this story has been told for many, many years and was mostly likely told orally.
According to Barry B. Powell, this myth serves as an explanation for where whales and seals came
from as well as how Sedna became the mistress of the underworld, which is why the myth can still be
told today (Powell 488). At the beginning of the story, Sedna and her father are introduced to the
audience, who then learns that many young men are wanting to marry Sedna. She does not accept any
of them, however, because of her proud heart. Later on, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The imagery that is used when describing the setting allows the audience to not only picture clearly
where the characters are but also to give an explanation for why Sedna would rather marry a seagull
she just met than a young man who she has probably known for some time. Sedna wants the best for
herself and does not wish to be with a man who cannot offer her anything that her father cannot offer
her himself in terms of a shelter and food. Sedna s pride is her tragic flaw, and by not accepting what
was given/offered to her, she ended up being worse off than she was before. Another flaw for Sedna
and her father is that they are vengeful. Sedna s father gets revenge on the seagull, which almost
results in him murdering his daughter, and it is Sedna s revenge on her father and their hatred that
caused the earth to swallow them. From these, it can be understood that peacefulness, humility, whales
and seals, and being weary of strangers are all ideas, or animals, that this culture thinks is important.
These are a few of the ideas that can be taken away from this myth, but if they are looked at from

Women s Rights Within The Viking Age
Traditional historiographies and archaeological research perceived the Viking world as being
dominated by men with the majority of studies being concerned with exploring the life and material
culture of the male part of the society. There is no denying that archaeology is a discipline which has
traditionally been deeply colored by a predominantly male bias, and the historical dominance of men
over women had been accepted to such a degree that it appeared to be the natural order of things .
Popular imagination was of male Viking warriors with their long beards, large axes, colorful shields,
and bloodied swords. The presence of women was limited within the scope of early works. The
historiographical study of women s rights within the Viking Age is in its early stages. The academic
fields of gender and women s studies gained greater prominence beginning in the 1970 s, coinciding
with the feminist movement. Early gender archaeology can be said to have been a search for women
in the past, which was closely tied with the second wave feminism of the 60s and 70s . It is not
surprising that the earliest practitioners in gender archaeology wanted to show that there were in fact
women in the past, and that these women were not just important, they were just as important and
integral to the development of cultures as their contemporary men. From within the framework of
these ideas grew some less than reputable pieces of theory, founded on Engels famous citation world

The essays Nature and self reliance almost support each other in the way they depict self respect as
not just an aspect of life, but as life Itself and anything less is more dead than any end one could meet

Should There Be Harsher Punishment For Bullying
Wow, what a great question! Should there be harsher punishments for bullying? Yes, there should be
harsher punishments for bullying. The two main reasons is why I believe this. One main reason why is
people commit suicide for bullying. My second reason is it s not just the person that getting bullied
people around them are getting hurt.
My first reason is that many people commit suicide. This is what many people do when they get
bullied is mainly they want to escape life and they don t want to worry any more. I do know how it
feels to get bullied. I ve been called fat, ugly, weird, and have many people talk about me. The main

Postmodersm In Gothic
In his seminal study Gothic, Botting compares Gothic literature in the eighteenth, nineteenth and
twentieth centuries with respect to their different ways of addressing terror and horror. He notes that
the novel of terror dominated the eighteenth century gothic writings for its transgressive efficacies.
Female Gothic writers examine the terrors of patriarchal oppression while verbalizing the heroine s
anxiety about her entrapment into the confines of domesticity. In other words, the gothic heroine is
plunged into a state of terror stimulated by her own imagination yet, reflected her social reality.
Although the heroine engaged herself in a subversive journey to flee the terrors of the social order, the
gothic genre at that period espoused a restoration and revitalization of the normalised order through
the exorcism of the threatening and vicious characters, as Botting writes: [V]illains are punished;
heroines well married (Gothic 10).

Firstly, while investigating it practicality, postmodernism revisits the belief in objective reality. It cuts
with the consistent oneness and uniformity of Truth/Reality which is stripped of its hierarchical stance,
giving much leeway for the proliferation of multiples realities and the plurality of new stories, new
texts and new fictional worlds constructed by the characters. These nascent narratives uncover the
laden discourse behind the creation of history which is constructed on the exclusion of the
peripherized and inclusion of the dominant for the sake of homogeneity. Postmodernism thus, while
interrogating the tenability of objectivity, divulges the unreliability of authentic representations.

Analysis Of The Freedom Riders
Nearly a century after the civil war ended, African Americans continued to encounter discrimination,
racism, inequality, and segregation. Because of their skin color, they were labeled as second class
citizens. They decided to take actions into their own hands and fight against segregation and attain
equal civil liberties. They have faced countless battles, setbacks and enormous resistance. Activists
from all around the country, with all types of backgrounds joined in on the fight against racial
injustice. Their main strategy emphasized passive resistance and nonviolence. On May 4th, 1961,
thirteen brave individuals set out on a mission to start a national movement to overturn segregation in
the south. Under the leadership of Congress of Racial Equality, seven African Americans and six
whites traveled together on two commercial buses, the Greyhound and the Trailways. They called
themselves The Freedom Riders. They intended to travel from Washington DC to New Orleans,
Louisiana together. On the way, they would deliberately violated Jim Crow laws. The Freedom Riders
risked being assaulted, arrested, and even killed. Many other civil rights activists opposed their plan
because they felt the idea was too confrontational and dangerous, and could possibly result in a
setback for the civil rights movement. Despite the risks and opposition, the Freedom Riders did not
abort their mission. The activists were tired of waiting, therefore they decided that they are not going

Do Fans Take Things Too Far Research Paper
Do fans take things too far?
This story is going to give you the answer once in for all. Do fans take things too far? NO! 1 thing is
fans just want to be good supporters of their team. 2nd fans act the same way their team does after a
loss upset, mad, and sometimes enraged it s just the way the fans feel after a game. 3rd all the fans
want to do is one let the players know that we the fans represent them and want them to win, second
we the fans are on that teams side and third we the fans will scream and shout and let it all out too let
the players we represent them and that they are our favorite. The first reason being fans are all about

Thats just because fans sometimes get enraged because their team has lost all fans will feel the same
way the team does sad and depressed about the loss many fans will take the team loss and count as a
loss as if it was the fans loss in real life. The last reason, fans want to support the team they like they
want to show that team they want them to win, even if that means screaming at the top of their lungs
and dressing up like their team, meaning the fans wearing face paint or that teams jersey or even body
paint like painting the teams logo on your stomach. Believe you me fans will do anything and
everything to let the team know that we are their supporters.
Now yes I know we the fans can go a little over board. We the fans can take things a little too far and
start vandalising things but thats not what every fan does. You have to realise that fans just want their
team to win. Fans tend to get mad enraged or even start breaking things if their team doesn t win. It s

Spanking Harmful To Children Research Paper
Is Spanking Harmful to Children?
Spanking, also known as corporal punishment is a highly controversial method of discipline that
parents currently use in an attempt to modify their children s misbehavior. This type of punishment is
not known to uplift the essence of education in children, and many parents and researchers feel that
spanking leads to developmental problems. Research studies show how spanking produces a negative
effect in children, and parents and caregivers should reconsider the use of corporal punishment as a
form of discipline for their children because of its harmful effects. In addition, there are other, better
alternatives that can be used to discipline children.
Spanking is defined as inflecting pain on a person s body (Encyclopedia ... Show more content on

It just requires that the parent or caregiver makes it know that he or she acknowledges the child s good
behavior.
In summary, spanking and corporal punishment are two things that have many opponents. But many
argue that spanking will and can do more harm than good. According to some researchers, spanking
does cause negative effects on children. Some researchers even say spanking causes permanent
emotional and developmental problems.
Fortunately, we discovered a few alternative forms of discipline that work exceptionally well when
disciplining children. A stern look is a very effective one. Another, would be time out, removing the
child from the situation, in turn interrupting the unwanted behavior. One more would be the removal
of privileges. Taking away electronics for a short period of time is a very effective consequence.
Lastly, would be positive praise, encouraging phrases that motivate children to behave well.
Just remember when disciplining a child it is to be done out of love to teach him or her a positive life

Article Title: Half the World Lives on 1% of Its Land, Mapped
2. Who is the author? What kind of influence would that have?
The author s name is Tanvi Misra, and the purpose of the article isn t really to persuade, but to inform.
Because of this, the influence truly depends on the reader s perspective and opinions on the topic, as
there is no line of argument that would hold against a brief article whose primary objective is to
enlighten its audience.
3. What unit does it fall under?
It could probably fall under multiple categories, such as this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

 South and East Asia is the primary 1% of this land, with large clusters scattered throughout
 These clusters mainly fall around India and China, some of the most populous countries in the
world
 The rest of the world has most of its clusters around major cities (although some areas are all black,
like most of Africa)
7. What is your reaction/review of the article? (agree, disagree, strong points, weak points, etc. You
must explain your stances! Give examples.)
I personally find this article to be quite informative, the facts and maps explain the topic briefly but
give the reader a new perspective on how we look at our world today. The first close up map (and the
second map overall), depicts South and East Asia, showing a generated map of half the population in
yellow, and the other half in black. The image is very surprising once explained; about 46% of the
world s population is located on this map, making the population density for such a large area about
the equivalent of small state Massachusetts! Even though Asia is such a large continent and there are
occasional news flashes about various population control issues, it had never occurred to me that
about half of our 7 billion (and counting) population can live in such clustered areas, as opposed to
living anywhere on the globe. This article was truly engaging and factual, and as an article that is so
direct, it approaches the topic well and gives light to the rest of the world

Essay On The Sixth Sense
An outsider is someone who is either forced or chooses to be different than others. There are
characters in the book Belzhar and the movie The Sixth Sense that are different than those around
them, which makes them outsiders. The book Belzhar by Meg Wolitzer is about a girl named Jam,
which is short for Jamaica, who had a boyfriend and his name was Reeve. Reeve was an exchange
student from London. Another character in Belzhar is Sierra. Both Jam and Sierra are considered
outsiders because of situations in their lives. Each character has become an outsider because of
personal circumstances in their lives that make them different from others. In the movie The Sixth

The majority of them aren t as happy as the rest of them or as they used to be because some horrific

of the group doesn t understand the feeling when losing a very close friend, family member, or
boyfriend. Everyone thought that Cole was strange because he socially isolated himself and didn t
interact with other children. Isolation is hard to bear for many of the characters in this novel like Jam,
Sierra , and Cole. As stated above, they are outsiders because they stand out as different from their
peers, speak their minds, and are often shunned by others in their community. But being different from
their peers also makes them individual. They are characters who display strength and courage because
they do not always go with the crowd. Being different than others and taking a different path is not
alway a bad choice. In fact, the differences these character s show make each one so likable and

Emma also refuses to heed Mr. Knightley s warnings when he states that, men of sense, whatever you

her created fantasy world that she fails to recognise the fact that Mr.

confidence and pride prevent her from listening to an objective source. Whenever Harriet seemed
about to think or talk of Robert Martin, Emma made her think of Mr. Elton and so the infatuation
grew. Without fully realising it, Emma may have destroyed the possible relationship between Harriet

  • 2. Interview Narrative I loved living in New York. The always busy city s streets and the diversity of the people residing there gave the metropolis strong character. For ten months, I had been practicing law in the city and enjoying my job a lot until that fateful day when my fiancée ended our engagement. Following the breakup, my job became my sanctuary, a place where I did not think about life. I had a very important meeting with a prominent executive name Brian Ross, who had hired our firm to represent his little sister in an International criminal case. Mr. Ross was beyond wealthy and had attorneys at his disposal, but our firm had more experience handling International cases. His sister stood accused of drug possession in a foreign country, a very serious ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He was in his late 30s, had blond hair, blue eyes, very handsome, and much taken. Sarah, his fiancée, was a lovely woman and I had grown closer to her in the aftermath of my breakup. Like David, she was blond, tall and beautiful. At present, she was attending culinary school to become a chef. When David was in law school, she worked two jobs to support them both until David finished his law degree. They scheduled their wedding for the following year and honored me with an invitation to their special day, which I was helping Sarah plan. My closest friend Liz found it ironic I was helping Sarah with her wedding after I cancelled mine, but for me it was cathartic. Working with David on this case, elicit so much excitement from me, not only because it was a high profile case, but also because it would, without question, benefit my career s welfare I was a great attorney, but David was brilliant when it came to criminal law. As my mentor, David would help me learn my trade better. I was surprised he asked me to assist him with the case, considering my late involvement. The short noticed I was given did not allowed me to be better prepared, but I trusted David s judgment. Just as I was placing my notes on the table, Mr. Smith walked in the room, followed by Mr. Ross close behind and at that moment my world came to a screeching halt. Not him. I thought. • 3. How Does The Bad Seed Support The Nature-Nurture Theory The Bad Seed The Nature Nurture theory is a big issue in psychology. In this theory, the nature portion of it says that we get all our knowledge from our genes. It s the biological side to this theory but, there s also an environmental side to this theory. The environmental side is the nurture portion to this theory. Nurture says that we get all of our knowledge through experiences. Also where, who, and how we grow up. The Bad Seed does support the Nature Nurture Theory because it provides evidence that it could be nature or nurture in Rhoda s situation. This movie provides a great example of nature because Christine, Rhonda s mother, find s out she was adopted and that Bessie Denker, her biological mother, was a well known killer. Christine ... • 4. Congenital Heart Diseases ( Chd ) Introduction Congenital heart diseases (CHD) are defects in the heart that are present from birth and affect 8 in every 1,000 newborns each year (National Heart Lung and Blood Institute, 2011). Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is the most common congenital disease of the heart (O Hanlon and Pennell, 2009) and the most common cause of sudden cardiac death (SCD) among apparently healthy athletes and younger generations (Maron, 1995; Maron and Maron, 2013). HCM is a condition in which there is abnormal thickening of the myocardium in the left ventricle (LV), also know as left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH), where the heart is not dilated and there is no other systemic or cardiac cause (Maron et al 2003; Maron et al 2006). Although many patients are asymptomatic to HCM, some patient s will present with, or develop progressive exercise intolerance, heart failure symptoms and SCD (Keren et al 2008). The prevalence of HCM worldwide is 1:500 making it the most common heritable congenital heart disorder (O Hanlon, 2010). Annual mortality rates for presenting patient s range from 1% within the general community, to 3 6% from tertiary referral centres (Noureldin et al, 2012). This range is most likely due to the fact that tertiary centres are specialist centres, and patients suspected to have HCM would be referred straight to a tertiary centre. There is currently no evidence to suggest that incidence or mortality is affected by gender (Maron et al, 2002). Obstructive and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

From reading the scholarly work by Conway (1989) and Zuccotti (2005), it is seen that there has been a lot of criticism as to the Pope s effort to save Jewish people who were being murdered by the Nazi s prior to and during the holocaust . By looking at Zuccotti s work, it can be understood that whilst the Church and the Vatican s members did provide shelter to the Jews that were being attacked, it is seen that there was no instruction from the Pope himself at that time to help the Jews and thus these members were in essence behaving in a way that they believed would be approved by the Pope, as part of the ... • 13. Figurative Language In My Antonia The novel My Antonia uses imagery and figurative language to help communicate the theme of the novel to the readers. The character Jim Burden is headed west to Nebraska to his grandparents from Virginia after his parents have died. Jim is playing the role of Manifest Destiny by moving West to Nebraska. On his way Jim sees how raw the earth is, relating that it is not yet a country, but rather the material that countries are made of. Looking at the land this way is very much like Manifest Destiny. The author uses imagery many times throughout her novel to give the readers a better understanding and view to pinpoint the theme. There seemed to be nothing to see; no fences, no creeks or trees, no hills or fields. If there was a road, I could not make it out in the faint starlight. There was nothing but land...I had never before looked up at the sky when there was not a familiar mountain ridge against it. But this was the complete dome of heaven, all there was of it. I did not believe that my dead father and mother were watching me from up there; they would still be looking for me at the sheep fold down by the creek.... I had left even their spirits behind me. The wagon jolted on, carrying me I knew not whither. I don t think I was homesick. If we never arrived anywhere, it did not matter. Between that earth and that sky I felt erased, blotted out. I did not say my prayers that night: here, I felt, what would be would be. This new surrounding is the beginning of an adventure for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. Green And Clean Rhetorical Analysis In 150 Words Green and Clean is an article written by Jennifer Weeks published on August 1, 2014. The article informs the audience about how chemists are finding new ways to save energy, cut waste, and boost safety. In the excerpt from Chemistry: Green and Clean, the author, Jennifer Weeks, builds an argument that green chemists are working to develop a field of chemistry that can replace polluting technologies. Jennifer Weeks uses evidence, reasoning, and stylistic elements to describe how green chemists identify chemical products or processes that are toxic and wasteful, change chemical processes so they are less energy consuming, and swap out harmful ingredients for nontoxic alternatives. In the article, Jennifer Weeks regularly provides factual evidence to strengthen the logic and persuasiveness of her argument. For example, Weeks states, The 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill released almost 5 million barrels of crude oil in the Gulf. She explains how Ramaswamy Nagarajan, a plastics engineer at the University of Massachusetts, learned that the bacteria that started breaking down the oil had made natural surfactants called polysaccharides. • 19. Barry B. Powell s Sedna, Mistress Of The Underworld Sedna, mistress of the underworld is an Inuit myth that has been around for hundreds of years and passed down generations. It is not clear when who the author or the myth is or when the myth started being told since this story has been told for many, many years and was mostly likely told orally. According to Barry B. Powell, this myth serves as an explanation for where whales and seals came from as well as how Sedna became the mistress of the underworld, which is why the myth can still be told today (Powell 488). At the beginning of the story, Sedna and her father are introduced to the audience, who then learns that many young men are wanting to marry Sedna. The imagery that is used when describing the setting allows the audience to not only picture clearly where the characters are but also to give an explanation for why Sedna would rather marry a seagull she just met than a young man who she has probably known for some time. Sedna wants the best for herself and does not wish to be with a man who cannot offer her anything that her father cannot offer her himself in terms of a shelter and food. Sedna s pride is her tragic flaw, and by not accepting what was given/offered to her, she ended up being worse off than she was before. Another flaw for Sedna and her father is that they are vengeful. Sedna s father gets revenge on the seagull, which almost results in him murdering his daughter, and it is Sedna s revenge on her father and their hatred that caused the earth to swallow them. From these, it can be understood that peacefulness, humility, whales and seals, and being weary of strangers are all ideas, or animals, that this culture thinks is important. • 20. Women s Rights Within The Viking Age Traditional historiographies and archaeological research perceived the Viking world as being dominated by men with the majority of studies being concerned with exploring the life and material culture of the male part of the society. There is no denying that archaeology is a discipline which has traditionally been deeply colored by a predominantly male bias, and the historical dominance of men over women had been accepted to such a degree that it appeared to be the natural order of things . Popular imagination was of male Viking warriors with their long beards, large axes, colorful shields, and bloodied swords. The presence of women was limited within the scope of early works. The historiographical study of women s rights within the Viking Age is in its early stages. The academic fields of gender and women s studies gained greater prominence beginning in the 1970 s, coinciding with the feminist movement. Early gender archaeology can be said to have been a search for women in the past, which was closely tied with the second wave feminism of the 60s and 70s . It is not surprising that the earliest practitioners in gender archaeology wanted to show that there were in fact women in the past, and that these women were not just important, they were just as important and integral to the development of cultures as their contemporary men. He notes that the novel of terror dominated the eighteenth century gothic writings for its transgressive efficacies. Female Gothic writers examine the terrors of patriarchal oppression while verbalizing the heroine s anxiety about her entrapment into the confines of domesticity. In other words, the gothic heroine is plunged into a state of terror stimulated by her own imagination yet, reflected her social reality. Although the heroine engaged herself in a subversive journey to flee the terrors of the social order, the gothic genre at that period espoused a restoration and revitalization of the normalised order through the exorcism of the threatening and vicious characters, as Botting writes: [V]illains are punished; heroines well married (Gothic 10).
