Apple Computer s Loan
Details of requested loan
Apple Computer s needs a loan amounting to one fourth (25%) of current shareholders equity as of
December 31, 2002. This translates to $1.024 billion and will raise the company debt level to $3.223
billion. The loan is expected to enable the company carry out long term asset expansion and will carry
an interest at the prime rate plus one percent payable annually at December 31. The principal
repayment when the note comes due in ten years (January 2013).
Granting this loan will raise the company s debt to equity level from the current 54% to 79%. Besides,
the note will also reduce the company s interest coverage ratios especially at this time of relatively
high interest rate. However, the company has adequate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Of the three companies, Apple had the highest proportion of current assets relative to fixed assets. On
average, Apple s current assets stood at more than 85% of all its assets. This compared to Dell s 76%
and Gateways 72%. The high investment in current assets points to high inventory lagging the
companies stores.
Total assets relative to total liabilities have been relatively stable at around 53 69 for Dell 35 62% for
apple and 42 53% for gateway. It is only Apple s ratio of total assets relative to total liabilities that has
been on the rise. On average, the other two companies have shown a slow downward trend. This
indicates their preference for financing using equity rather than debt.

Computer industry
The global computer industry is at its growing phase of evolution. The industry is driven by high rate
of product turnover and short product cycle. Forms invest heavily in research and development to
come up with products that satisfy customers frequently changing tastes. Continued success in the
industry requires cutting edge innovation, short product development time, ability to mass produce to
realize low per unit cost and ability to manage costs. Going forward, companies that invest in research
and development are likely to have the highest potential for growth (Shelly, et al., 2007).

Correlation Between Race And Health Inequalities
As the appointed Director of the World s Health Organization s Commission on Social Determinants
of Health, I have the opportunity to examine the relationship between race and health inequalities.
Race is a significant predictor of the distribution of health inequalities as it is quite notable that people
with similar biological traits seem to experience a non random distribution of morbidity and mortality.
There are various underlying factors of health inequalities in relation to race. This report will focus on
the scientific misconception of racism, the consequences of colonization and environmental injustice.
According to Smedley (2005) race is a societal construct for the categorization between groups of
people. However, the field of medicine attributes racial biological differences as the causation of
health inequalities. This is a questionable notion since scientists explained that humans are genetically
99.1% alike, with the remaining small percentage accounting for our phenotypical variation.
Attributing genes as the answer to our health disparities leads to individuals believing that racial
differences can be unaltered. This can be used to justify segregation of races and the superiority of
certain groups, thus creating a lack of critical thinking of factors which actually contribute to certain
health trends (Smedley Smedley, 2005). For example, in the film When the Bough Breaks (California
Newsreel, 2008) African American women seem to have a disproportionate

The Sonnet By Sir Thomas Wyatt
Many people are familiar with poetry; they understand their basic concepts and know that some differ
in their size and how they rhyme. What some people may not know is that poems are categorized and
there are many different types of groups within poetry. There are various types of poetry which
include the sonnet. The sonnet was introduced by an Italian poet named Francesco Petrarch (1304
1374) who introduced the creation in the 13th century (Applebee 295). He wrote over 300 love
sonnets, a great number of them were dedicated to a woman named Laura. Centuries passed in which
sonnets were not as popular; his work was later rediscovered by two lovelorn poets. Their names were
Sir Thomas Wyatt (1503 1542) and Henry Howard, earl of Surrey (1517 1547). They changed some of
the rhyme scheme to tie in with the English language; Shakespeare went on to write many sonnets, he
was very good and left a huge impact on the style of poetry.
Later, an already famous poet, Edmund Spenser, kept the love based poems alive by continuing to
write in the 15th century; he went on to change how they poem rhymed and had his style of writing
named after him. Enough with its history, a sonnet is a structured poem that consists of 14 lines. There
is no limitation on how long each line has to be in size; but they do all have one thing in common,
there must be ten syllables per line. The poem is then divided into three quatrains; which is just a big
word for a four lined unit. The final two lines are

Criticisms Of A Humanistic Psychodynamic Approach
There can be many criticisms for humanistic therapy. This approach can be thought of as too positive
at times, in regards to human behavior. With a humanistic approach individuals are assumed to be
naturally good and will decide to follow the most positive way of doing things, by either making
themselves and the world around them a better place (Mcleod, 2015). Choice and free will at times
can be limited to some people, which then can make the application of this approach difficult.
According to McLeod, Humanistic psychologists argue that objective reality is less important than a
person s subjective perception and understanding of the world . (Mcleod, 2015). This can cause issues
when trying to develop treatment and study it, different factors must be taken into consideration. This
means that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The client centered method is no longer defined in terms of specific techniques or modes of response,
but rather in terms of certain basic attitudes (Gendlin, 1962 as cited in Rogers, 1957, 1959). With the
isolation of schizophrenic patients and also the fact that these patients were assigned psychotherapy
involuntarily , would account for their characteristic refusals, silences, and absence of verbal
exploration, as previously mentioned. (Gendlin, 1962). According to Gendlin, the attitudes of the
therapists had the tendency to greatly increase patients reactions and behaviors, and as such, lead to
modifications in their psychotherapy process. Second, the genuine expressiveness of the of the
therapist is significant as well. It is important for the therapist to express themselves in a way that they
clearly state their feelings at the time, without judgment. It can be said that when therapists take this
approach they have the ability to often solidify and continue relationships by expressing themselves
openly and being genuine. (Gendlin,

Informed Consent Language
Analyze the various ways language can influence the process of obtaining informed consent from a
patient or a potential participant in a clinical research study. Be sure to consider issues of
comprehension and fluency, as well as perceived issues of power and coercion. It will be helpful to
read the following article to inform your analysis:
Informed consent is a process by which the participants voluntarily give their consent to be enrolled in
the trail. This requires the person obtaining the consent to be able to clearly explain the nature and
goals of the research, and all other essential information that the participant may want to know in a
manner that promotes participants understanding. This is the key to informed consent and will require

The Problem Of Fraud And Its Effects On Society
Enlightenment thinker Giacomo Leopardi claims that [t]he combative spirit...derives from the folly of
human beings who will not accept the circumstances of life (Leopardi). In a society where people
value success over dignity, this lack of acceptance leads to the callous deception that causes so much
suffering today. This deception, found in contract fraud, means that the one soliciting a contract
benefits more than the one who signs it when the terms of the agreement are manipulated. Fraud has
become one of the top three causes of bankruptcy in America, along with medical bills and job loss (
Top ). In fact, a 2015 study by the Federal Trade Commission found that 25.6 million people had
agreed to a fraudulent contract that year because they were not clearly given all of the terms
(Ramirez). The manipulation of contracts to gain an advantage in society implements precaution that
undermines trust and ultimately leads to increasingly apathetic individuals.
People exploit contract fraud to gain an advantage over others in our competitive society. People who
commit contract fraud consent to do whatever it takes to become their definition of successful ,
regardless of the innocent people that suffer as a consequence. This could also come in the form of a
misrepresentation of services. An anonymous survey conducted by Harvard University found that 52%
of people surveyed lied on their resume to gain their desired job (Badaracco and Useem). A resume is
like a promise that one

The Problem Of Inadequate Funds
As you are facing the situation of inadequate funds, are you looking for a provision from where you
can get assistance in monetary terms? Are you getting confused as to what option to choose? Without
thinking much, you can go for installment loans . By going with this monetary service, the borrower
can get hold of immediate cash support for small needs. The nature of this facility is short term. This
makes the rate of interest quite high. You should just take note of your want and state before you apply
for the desired sum. According to your settlement state and financial condition, you can obtain a sum
that falls in the range of £80 to £1500 that you have to pay back in the suitable repayment time
duration of 1 to 30 day. Once the installment loans comes to you, you can do anything and everything.
The borrower can pay the household and utility bills, can get small house repair jobs done, can send
the car to the garage, can pay the kid s school and tuition fees, can pay the medical bills, can pay
installments of the credit card, can throw a party and so on. Put into use the free of cost and no
obligation online application form for immediate loans , which would have been made available to
you on the website of the money lenders. From the comfort of your home or office, fill it with your
genuine personal details. As and when the process of application would be over, you would get an
approval easily. The money would get transferred into your bank account, within 24 hours.

Does Austerity Has Had A Corrosive Effect On The Disabled,...
This essay intends to argue that austerity has had a corrosive effect on the disabled, poor,
disadvantaged and penurious. There are various different measurements of inequality, the two that will
be analysed in this essay is the Lorenz Curve and the Gini coefficient. This essay will then explore the
case for austerity, and why the government decided to implement it. Since 2010, inequality has gone
down and employment has gone up. The crux of this essay will focus on the way in which austerity
has been implemented and the adverse consequences for those at the bottom of society. The policies
that have been enacted under austerity are more detrimental than the data would lead us to believe.
Austerity has a clear ideology behind it, an ideology

Characteristics Of Chimpanzee
Throughout the world, there are multitudes of different species between the monkey and ape families.
Chimpanzees follow under the species of the great apes which consist of the common chimpanzee;
that most people are familiar with. The chimpanzee lives in the dense tropical rainforest of Africa.
With this is mind, chimpanzees have been made to have certain features that allows them to survive
effectively within their environment.
One of the essential features of chimpanzees is their size. A chimpanzee generally weighs around 70
130 lbs and reaches the height of 4 5.5ft. Along with their size, fur is also a critical feature for them to
have in order to thrive. Fur covers the top of its head, back, legs, and arms but does not have fur on its
face, palm of its hands, toes, feet, chest, and stomach area. It would not make sense for a chimpanzee
to have hair on their face because it would interfere with their sight. They don t have hair on their
palms, toes, feet, chest and stomach because they have thick, coarse fur everywhere else which is able
to keep their body temperature regulated. An equally important and easily recognizable feature of a
chimpanzee would be their opposable thumbs. In addition to this, chimpanzee s make up of their
bodies allows them to function in their environment. For instance, chimpanzee jaws are heavy and
protruding, and the canine teeth are large. Their spines are constructed in a way where they can stand
up similar to a human, but they also

Active Learning Techniques Provide Opportunities For...
Massey, Brown, and Johnson (2005) suggested that active learning techniques provide opportunities
for faculty to increase social presence, engage students, and positively enhance performance. Studies
have shown that students tend to learn more when they actively participate in the learning process
through discussing, practicing, reviewing, and applying knowledge to develop new meanings
(Mcalpin, 2015). Maki and Maki (2007) found that online instruction required the application of
strong methodology along with providing students with opportunities to interact with each other and
the instructor. Aside from purposeful course design, active learning in an online course requires
instructors to be actively involved in the learning process (Gayton McEwen, 2007; Young, 2006). This
involvement includes, but is not limited to, minimal participation in discussion boards, course
announcements, e mail, and other forms of web based communication (Dixon, 2010). However
Dennen, Aubteen Darabi, and Smith (2007) warned that too much active participation by the instructor
has been shown to result in decreased student participation. The purpose of this study was to design an
asynchronous online course that integrates active and engaging learning strategies tied to social
presence theory to increase student satisfaction, retention, and to serve as a model master course for
other online instructors at Western Piedmont Community College (WPCC). This paper provides

The Second Wave Feminism
Introduction Women all over the world are marginalized in different ways. The movement to achieve
equality and human rights for is called feminism. It includes educational, personal end cultural areas.
Feminism involves political and sociological theories and philosophies with gender. The word
feminism got mass popularity from the 1970s. Maggie Humm and Rebecca walker divided the history
of feminism into three waves. The first wave focused on the promotion of equality in property and
family law. It begins in the early twentieth century in the United Kingdom and in the united states. The
second wave feminism comes as a continuation of the first wave to fight against the social and cultural
inequalities like political inequalities. Second wave feminism started in the early 1960s and lasted up
to 1980s. It was a continuation of the feminist movements in UK and US. It leads to the third wave
feminism which retired as a response to perceiving the failures of the second wave. The first wave was
more based on the rights and the second wave was about inequality. Whereas the feminists in the
second wave saw the inequalities of women which was linked each other. They encourage people to
understand about the personal life. The third wave ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Black feminism believes that sexism, class oppression, and racism are inextricably bound together.
Alice Walker s Womanism theory is involved with black feminism. It emerged after the early feminist
movements that were led specifically by white women who advocated social changes such as woman s
suffrage. These movements were largely white middle class movements and had generally ignored
oppression based on racism and classism. Alice Walker and other Womanists pointed out that black
women experienced a different and more intense kind of oppression from that of white

A new system BHS 2.0 integrates order entry, master scheduling and manufacturing execution.
1. The main features of the production order tracking system are:
Tracks WIP(Work in Progress)
Sends back the information of estimated order completion to Order Entry system
Live Capacity estimation is calculated using below parameters:
Planned downtime of any manufacturing unit
Unplanned downtime
Resource constraints o Raw Materials availability and delivery issues o Absenteeism (Labour)
2. Features for the new Master Scheduling system are:
According to the priority from Order Entry system, and the Capacity estimates from Production Order
Tracking system, the Master Scheduler should assign work to each Production line.
3. Features for the new order entry system include:
The Customer service agent gets the information about Production order and conveys the same to
customer
How the IS will fit within your organisation s IT strategy
Brickhouse s IT strategy is to leverage on technology to improve Reliability, Efficiency and Flexibility

What I Have Learned About Salbutamol
Salbutamol (also known as albuterol in USA) is one of the most famous short acting β2 agonists. It
has become first line treatment for asthma due to its effectiveness. I met this drug in a dispensing
session in the first term and I think is a good example of what we have learnt so far. In this essay I will
tell you what I know about this drug. Salbutamol is sold in its sulphate form and is marketed as a
racemic product. According pharmaceutical chemistry this means that in it, it has 50% of the R
enantiomer and 50% of the S enantiomer. However, only the R enantiomer is active at the β receptors.
It is thought that the S enantiomer is inactive or causes adverse effects. Because of this, the pure R
enantiomer was marketed levalbuterol. β receptor agonists are used in the treatment of asthma and
COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) to relax the muscles in the air passages in the lungs.
Salbutamol is a selective β2 adrenergic agonist, although this selectivity is relative and dose
dependent. This means that the selectivity is lost at high concentration and thus causing side effects.
Albuterol has affinity to β 2 receptors and binds to them, causing a relaxation effect. β2 receptors are
members of the adrenergic family of receptors and therefore its effects are caused by an interaction
with G proteins. β

When many think of the times of immigration, they tend to recall the Irish Immigration and with it
comes the potato famine of the 1840s however, they forget that immigrants from the Emerald Isle also
poured into America during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The assimilation and
immigration of the Irish has been difficult for each group that has passed through the gates of Ellis
Island or South Boston. Like every group that came to America, the Irish were looked down upon; yet,

The city life gave the Irish a chance to continue to stay close to their families and communities, a
chance to help one another out. This strong sense of belonging is evident in all Irish communities; the
upper class would only try to help their own by giving them jobs or housing. The Irish did not only
look to the streets for sanctuary, but also looked to a higher power. The most important community
was that of the local church. For many, social events at the churches, such as dances and mixers, were
a way for the Irish to unwind and relax. The churches and communities helped the families of the Irish
grow and provided a backbone for the next hundred years.
The improving times were not just a change for American, but also for the Irish. The improvement of
the economic status of the Irish Americans helped boost family lift and esprit. Most Irish American
families when first arriving in America had little or no money, thus forcing them to settle in the urban
centers of the Northeast. Within the cities, families were close and revolved around the church, where
they practiced catholic views and preaching against contraception; therefore, many Irish Catholics had
very large families. Consequently, the economic rise of the Irish immigrants provided families with
the money to feed and clothe their large families. In addition, many Irish Americans could now afford
to send their children to parish schools, something many could not do while oppressed in

The Scalpel And The Silver Bear Summary
In the novel The Scalpel and The Silver Bear, Alvord is Native American and specifically has roots
from the Navajo tribe. At the beginning of the novel she is conflicted by coming from a biracial family
where her mother is white and her father is Navajo. This conflict follows her all of the way to college
in choosing an Ivy League school. She later decides on a school known as Dartmouth because of the
fact that they had substantial amount of Native Americans than any other Ivy League school. Alvord
graduated from Dartmouth with a psychology and sociology degree but still had aspirations to become
a doctor. She returns to school at Stanford to study medicine, after fulfilling her degree she made her
way back to New Mexico near Gallup.
Alvord Practiced at Gallup Indian Medical Center where she stood out from her peers. She realized
that all of her peers are Anglos and she was the only Native American. Although she is Native
American she is not seen as such from her Native American Patients because of her modern medical
practices. Alvord felt conflicted for her Native American background by practicing western medicine.
She realizes that trust is the most difficult aspect when having Native American patients. Since the
doctors are mostly Anglos it is difficult to communicate to the Navajo patients. Alvord realized this
conflict and bridged the patient physician gap by speaking Navajo and touching the patients. Since

SFASU, luckily has a well organized and well informed website that offers all of its students important
tips and procedures on what to do in case of an emergency. Though only a few handful of students

website are viable for the student on campus and off campus; however, it could be more publicized,
that way all students know what to do and what not to do in the case of an emergency. Colleges and
universities could easily do this by implementing mandatory safety and training courses to ensure the
safety of their students while they are attending their school. This is extremely important so that way
students feel safe and can casually recommend SFASU as a safe and educated school for to anyone

Investment in Human Capital One of the biggest assets a company can have is its human capital. The
quality of employees and the extent to which these employees are trained will definitely determine the
failure or success of the organization. When an individual has worked for a company for a number of
years they gain an expertise and knowledge that can t be easily replaced. The knowledge that person
has is sometimes an even greater cost than the previously mentioned liabilities incurred when they are
lost. This type of loss goes beyond just being a mere monetary loss. The skill set of person allows
them to perform job duties that provide economic value to the company and/or its products or
services. Motivated people are always seeking advancement and anticipating the next career move. If
the company doesn t provide any lateral or upward mobility for its people the turnover rate may be
increased by the glass ceiling that stops the employees from moving up. A part of investing in human
capital is to provide ongoing training and development that allows people to gain the necessary
experience to become flexible in the company. This must also be coupled with incentives like
promotion guarantee, bonuses, or raises. Compensation Compensation is the

Peaceful Resistance In Henry David Thoreau s Civil...
In a free society such as the United States, peaceful resistance usually comes in the form of peaceful
protests such as people marching in the streets or people staying put in a public area for symbolic
reasons. Peaceful resistance of this form is allowed because the government of this country seems to
support an ideal set forth in Henry David Thoreau s Civil Disobedience: That government is best
which governs least. In other words, the role of government is to protect the individual freedoms of its
people, and the constitution that the United States government adheres to works to protect those
individual freedoms, including the freedom of speech. Therefore, peaceful resistance in the form of
peaceful protests are protected by the constitution. And even when peaceful protests cause individuals
to break laws, these actions can bear fruits of justice and advancement within society.

Descriptive Essay On A Dreamy Island
Imagine a place of pure bliss, where time is seemingly endless, simplicity is valued and relaxation is a
top priority. In our everyday lives where stress is customary and chaos is routine, it is hard to visualize
a place of such carefreeness. I too believed there could be no such place until I found it for myself.
When I close my eyes and imagine, I can still clearly hear the gentle splash of the waves lapping the
shoreline, and feel the slight ocean breeze whizz through my hair, sending it flying in every direction.
During phases of anxiety and trouble, there is one place in particular that my heart longs to be. Marco
Island, Florida.
My father proposed the idea of vacationing on Marco Island before the summer of 2016 after hearing
multiple people rave to him about the breathtaking beaches and unforgettable experiences. My mother
and I had never heard of Marco Island, but after five short minutes of browsing through images online
of the picturesque island, we were instantly captivated and could not wait to see it for ourselves. After
what seemed like an eternity of waiting for our trip to commence, we finally arrived on the dreamy
island. Grinning from ear to ear, we buckled ourselves into the rental car, feeling anxious to explore.
Unlike in Missouri, glossy green palm trees lined every street, which made us feel like we had entered
an alternate universe. Rather than staying at a hotel, we rented a beach house that was supposedly only
a six minute walk from Marco

What Are The Aspects Of Culture In The Movie Nightcrawler
The film, Nightcrawler displays multiple versions of culture in various ways. Culture is a way of life
or a group of people and the behaviors, beliefs, and values that they accept. Some forms of culture
displayed openly throughout the film, and some are hidden between the images. This film was
recently made in 2014 directed and written by Dan Gilroy. The feature embodies a thrilling tale that
mirrors different aspects of today s culture in an exciting way. One of the main moments of culture
that I noticed in this film is the violence that is shown. In today s culture, violence has become a part
of every day media. It is shown in movies, video games, and even advertisements. This is represented
when Lou tracks down two murderers in attempt to get the perfect shot for the TV news station that he

these days when competing for what you want. The final example of culture that I recognized was the
profound language. It is a part of every day society nowadays. Cussing and swearing seems as if it s
more acceptable now than it was a few years ago. Throughout the film, characters express their
frustration using a series of cuss words further representing he culture that we live in

Persuasive Technology Is Important For Defining The...
Persuasive technology is the computing technology that encourages a social influence mechanism, or
a form of interaction that aims at changing the way people behave or think [XXX]. The persuasive
technology archetype is important for defining the interaction structures of systems supporting
behavioural change. Fogg [XX] lists the core concepts of persuasive technology as: (1) an attempt to
change attitudes or behaviour or both without coercion or deception, (2) a focus on human computer
interaction, (3) a focus on planned persuasive effects, (4) a focus on endogenous or built in persuasive
intent, which means that a system is intentionally designed to persuade, and (5) persuasion that may
take place at either the macro or the micro ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These methodologies integrate persuasion strategies as described by Fogg, i.e. simplifying of tracking
and reinforcement. Both strategies are employing an underlying feedback loop by mirroring back the
recorded behaviour. The simplification of tracking give the interpretation of the data to the user, but by
capturing the right data, e.g. plotting sports activities vs. weight, some behaviours can be sustained.
Fogg [XXX] has also suggested some key persuasion principles on designing effective persuasive
technologies or methodologies, which include reduction, tunnelling, tailoring, suggestion, self
monitoring, surveillance and conditioning. To briefly explain these principles so that some content can
be more easily understood later in the thesis. Reduction means using technology to simplify complex
tasks and the goal of this strategy is to let the desired behaviour more tempting by reducing the
difficulties and to make it easier for the user. Tunnelling is to provide guidance to the user by guiding
the user through a predefined sequence of activities, and this strategy is being well applied in current
design and implementation of general mobile applications. Tailoring lets the general public use
personalized and individually relevant information to change attitudes or behaviour or both of them.
Tailoring is known as one of

Crisis Recovery Action Plan
For the two disasters, there are various lessons that can be learned. In order to prevent this loss from
recurring from the crisis, there are some approaches should be implement by our company.
First of all, we should create the recovery plan or contingent plan for disasters in order to reduce the

Latin America Intervention
From the literature presented in a course dealing with United States relations with Latin America
during the Cold War, it is interesting that political and cultural intervention in Central America, as an
important and driving social construct, is not a central role in the observations and analyses of the
scholars. While it would make sense that our Western understanding of the concept does not translate
in the same ways in this particular context, it still seems as though studies of the political, economic,
and social situation in the region s various countries would feature this discussion in a more prominent
manner. Noting this discrepancy, this paper includes historiographic works from historians who either

the labor needs of agrarian capitalism, and the global hegemony of a style of scientific medicine that

Although not a direct product of Cold War era it is important to remember health aid in the Central
American region. Beginning with Costa Rica in 1914, anti hookworm missions were established in
Panama, Guatemala, Nicaragua, and El Salvador. The Rockefeller Foundation was created as the

Symbolism In The Tide Rises, The Tide Falls By Henry...
Henry Longfellow and John Whitter both used symbolism to juristically make their writing more
appealing and full of elements. For Longfellow it was The Tide Rises, the Tide Falls ..In the poem,
The Tide Rises, the Tide Falls , the theme to me is surrounded around the fact of life goes on. The rise
and fall of the tides in the ocean represent the way life is a roller coaster and it goes up and down and
never slows down. An example to relate to the theme is when Longfellow says The day returns, but
nevermore Returns the traveller to the shore, and the tide rises, the tide falls. While he claims this it
supports the fact that this is about life changing, it supports it because once the day comes to an end,
and the traveller (person living life) is at rest from a long day, the tide rises and falls. In other ways,
life still goes on. Now as for John Whitter s poem, Snowbound, I believe the theme for this piece of
literature is overcoming the odds. The setting I thought of was in a little cabin that was trying its best
to stand tall through a harsh winter storm. The heat in doors was limited and the family inside was just
trying to make it through what seemed like a never ending storm. In the poem one line that caught my
eye about them overcoming the odds was We watched the first red blaze appear, Heard the sharp
crackle, caught the gleam, On whitewashed wall and sagging beam, . While he claims this is supports
the fact that this is about how regardless of the situation, no

Canada Goose Persuasive Essay
In order for us to enter the luxury fashion market, I have three suggestions that would not only
improve the public perception of the brand but also increase our profit. Currently, Nunnavut Puffin is
more well known for the functionality of the jackets, rather than for our values as luxury goods.
Unlike Canada Goose and Moncler, which are perceived as luxury goods, rather than merely outwear,
we have a smaller range of products, our price range is lower, and also we lack efficient marketing
strategies. Because Canada Goose also started as an outdoor apparel company, we will be able to
transition to a luxury outwear brand if we look closely at the history of Canada Goose and benchmark
them.
First, we need to redesign our logo. Luxury outwear brands like Moncler and Canada Goose are
represented by their unique logos. When someone wears Canada Goose, you recognize the jacket he
or she is wearing because of the logo. Their marketing strategies take advantage of human psychology
that we like to show off and prove to others how much we can spend on a winter coat that we are only
wearing in winter. In order to shift ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If we look at the case of Canada Goose, they sent their coats to celebrities to have their brand to be
imprinted on the American consciousness. They sponsored cold weather film festivals where the
Hollywood crowd could cosplay for a week as snow bunnies. We know from examples from various
industries that celebrities often have a huge impact on consumers decision because consumers admire
celebrities and want to be like them. This can be illustrated by Adidas Yeezy, an official collaboration
sneaker by Kanye West and Adidas. Taking advantage of Kanye West s fame, Adidas successfully not
only marketed their products but also acquired significant amount of revenue. If we follow these
examples and sponsor Hollywood events, we will see the effects that both Canada Goose and Adidas

How Does Technology Affect Pop Culture
In today s 21st century, technology has become a major influence in our lives. We have the ability to
make mutual relationships through social media. Since in the past people were able to come in contact
with each other face to face and discuss their concerns regarding what is happening in their
environment. But now we can catch the news through the newsfeed on Facebook or other social media
platforms. When you look at people are often on their cell phones creating a feeling of isolation since
they are attached to their phone and not noticing the real world around them. In relation, digital

The Samurai s Life During The Tokugawa Period
The Samurai were the medieval warriors of Japan and were usually called bushi or buke (Matt
Williams, Unknown) but only 10% or less of Japan s population was able to become a Bushi.
Although this may sound quite desirable, it managed to improve for Buke when the Tokugawa period
came. Their lifestyle changed for the better and they didn t have to worry about death, while still
retaining the same position on the hierarchy pyramid. Because of this being a samurai knight in the
Tokugawa Period was desirable.
The Samurai s lifestyle changed a lot when the Tokugawa Period came, as this was when civil peace
occurred throughout Feudal Japan. (Columbia University, 2009) This meant that there was no longer a
need for the samurai to fight. With their fighting role diminished the samurai took on the roles of
scholars and advisors. (Red Apple Education, 2013) This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the changes for the Bushi was that they were fortunate enough that they didn t have to worry
about death through fighting and wars anymore, however they still had to uphold the same respect that
they had for the daimyo. In some cases the samurai even managed to move up in hierarchy pyramid by
becoming courtiers. Courtiers are the people who go with the emperor to court they also move up to
become bureaucrats and administrators. (Oxford University Press, 2014) They still retained respect
within the public of an honourable position in the feudal system. The samurai still had the right to use
a range of weapons such as bows and arrows and spears but their main weapon and symbol was still
the sword. (See Appendix 1) (Japan Guide, 2014) They also still had the rights to kill anyone to
disrespect them as long as they were of a lower social status. This killing could still be done to keep

Examples Of Inductive Approach
In general, there were two approaches that could be applied to teach grammar: deductive and
inductive. This dichotomy was built upon rule based and example based teaching. The deductive
approach, also known as a top down approach, was a rule based teaching style that involved
explaining the grammar item to learners before they encountered how rules functioned in language
and then applying it; therefore, the deductive approach was one of the explicit teaching styles (Cowan,
2008). This approach was derived from the notion of deductive reasoning where the concept went
from the general to the specific. It can also be called rule driven learning. In such an approach, the
most favorable method was Grammar Translation Method where the grammar ... Show more content

This question relates to a long standing debate among language teachers in the context of EFL/ESL,
since the two had their own significances for Particular learner progress. On one side, deductive
approach can be effective with students of a lower level, who are beginning to learn the basic
structures of the language, or with students who are accustomed to a more traditional style of learning
(Goner, Philips, and Walters,1995,p.134). Also, Deductive approach goes straightforwardly to the
point and can, therefore, be time saving for the teacher and the class. Robinson (1996) proved that
learners performed grammatical tasks better and reacted faster in deductive rather than inductive
teaching. Erlam (2003) confirmed that deductive teaching was easier for learners to acquire direct
object pronouns in French as a second language, and it was highly likely that the same holds true for
learners of

Reflective Essay About Rap
I caused myself to miss out on a possible great experience with music. Since the start of 2016, a new
rap era called Mumble Rap caused a spur of people to spew their dislike of rappers who predominately
used adlibs in their songs along with extremely low rapping ability. Well known mumble rappers are:
Lil Yachty, Lil Uzi Vert, 21 Savage, Famous Dex, Kodak Black, and Desiigner. I joined this wave of
not liking mumble rap to make myself seem better and more knowledgeable to this who listen to
mumble rap. I would always say that I only listen to lyrical people, except for Lil Wayne or Mumble
rappers are trash and I do not like that . You will usually see me criticizing people who listen to this
new music because I felt as though the music was poisoning to our minds. Contrary to what I was
saying, these were not my true feelings. The only reason I said these things was because I followed the
thoughts and opinion of the much older people of the hip hop audience. I wanted to be all high and
mighty as those individuals and show that I too also enjoyed the rap era from the 1990s to early 2013.
Although I preached about how bad this new rap era is and the kind of music I listen to, no one
pictured me how I pictured me. I began to notice more and more often, so I began to feel less dislike
for the new rap and eventually not care if it is played around me. I would here one of the mumble
rapper s song on the radio and I would find myself liking it. If I am by myself, I would look

the Indian rupee price of one British pound is 54.392 rupees for each pound. A hotel room in London
costs 120 pounds, while a similar hotel room in New Delhi costs 6,500 Indian rupees. In which city is
the hotel room cheaper, and by how much? | | | Student Answer: | | London hotel room 120 pound or
6527 rupee (120*54.392) India hotel room 119.50 pounds (6500/54.392) or 6500 rupee the hotel room
is cheaper in India for .50 cent in pound or 27 rupees | | Instructor Explanation: | Since the exchange
rate is 1 pound = 54.392 Indian rupees, we can convert the price of the hotel room in London to Indian
rupees and then be able to compare. 120 pounds = rupees(120 x 54.392) = 6,527 rupees. Since the

Book Report On Charlie s Point Of View
Beginning I ve read a wild, but a mysterious story called Charlie s Point Of View . This book was
created and invented by a brilliant man named Richard Scrimger. This book is a fictional but a great
book. As I take you into the journey/wonders of this book, I ll tell you all about a blind boy solving a
mystery with his powerful senses. The boy who was blind was named as Charlie Fairmile. He has two
other friends who gave him big help and their names were Lewis and Bernadette.
This story mainly started on a busy day when Charlie s dad was late to work. Charlie had to go to
school and his dad had to take him to the school bus. They both rushed in the morning. Charlie s dad
dropped Charlie to the school bus and Charlie went to school ... Show more content on

The bandit and Charlie fell to the ground and hit their heads on the concrete. They both faint. After
Bernadette arrives, she tries to wake up Charlie, but there was no signal. She does it the second time
and Charlie awakes. At the same time of the scene, the police shows up. Charlie shows the bandit and
the money. The bandit was Mr. Floyd which was very obvious after Lewis tells his story about the
tombstone. Not only the story but also the countless times that he was late to school. His father had
also a last name of Floyd. That s why the name Floyd appeared on the tombstone.
Well, now that Charlie proved his dad s innocence, his dad was released and is happy with Charlie and
his friends. I rate this book a ten out of ten because this story shows specific details about the mystery
and the clues. In my opinion, this story was very mysterious and scary. I would recommend this book
to ages nine and plus because there are chapters in this book, that the reader would understand. This
story attracted me very much. I could not stop reading! This book will interest you just like it

On average, Apple s current assets stood at more than 85% of all its assets. This compared to Dell s 76% and Gateways 72%. The high investment in current assets points to high inventory lagging the companies stores. Total assets relative to total liabilities have been relatively stable at around 53 69 for Dell 35 62% for apple and 42 53% for gateway. It is only Apple s ratio of total assets relative to total liabilities that has been on the rise. On average, the other two companies have shown a slow downward trend. This indicates their preference for financing using equity rather than debt. Part B Computer industry The global computer industry is at its growing phase of evolution. • 3. Correlation Between Race And Health Inequalities As the appointed Director of the World s Health Organization s Commission on Social Determinants of Health, I have the opportunity to examine the relationship between race and health inequalities. Race is a significant predictor of the distribution of health inequalities as it is quite notable that people with similar biological traits seem to experience a non random distribution of morbidity and mortality. There are various underlying factors of health inequalities in relation to race. This report will focus on the scientific misconception of racism, the consequences of colonization and environmental injustice. According to Smedley (2005) race is a societal construct for the categorization between groups of people. However, the field of medicine attributes racial biological differences as the causation of health inequalities. This is a questionable notion since scientists explained that humans are genetically 99.1% alike, with the remaining small percentage accounting for our phenotypical variation. Attributing genes as the answer to our health disparities leads to individuals believing that racial differences can be unaltered. This can be used to justify segregation of races and the superiority of certain groups, thus creating a lack of critical thinking of factors which actually contribute to certain health trends (Smedley Smedley, 2005). For example, in the film When the Bough Breaks (California Newsreel, 2008) African American women seem to have a disproportionate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Sonnet By Sir Thomas Wyatt Many people are familiar with poetry; they understand their basic concepts and know that some differ in their size and how they rhyme. What some people may not know is that poems are categorized and there are many different types of groups within poetry. There are various types of poetry which include the sonnet. The sonnet was introduced by an Italian poet named Francesco Petrarch (1304 1374) who introduced the creation in the 13th century (Applebee 295). He wrote over 300 love sonnets, a great number of them were dedicated to a woman named Laura. Centuries passed in which sonnets were not as popular; his work was later rediscovered by two lovelorn poets. Their names were Sir Thomas Wyatt (1503 1542) and Henry Howard, earl of Surrey (1517 1547). They changed some of the rhyme scheme to tie in with the English language; Shakespeare went on to write many sonnets, he was very good and left a huge impact on the style of poetry. Later, an already famous poet, Edmund Spenser, kept the love based poems alive by continuing to write in the 15th century; he went on to change how they poem rhymed and had his style of writing named after him. Enough with its history, a sonnet is a structured poem that consists of 14 lines. There is no limitation on how long each line has to be in size; but they do all have one thing in common, there must be ten syllables per line. The poem is then divided into three quatrains; which is just a big word for a four lined unit. The final two lines are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Criticisms Of A Humanistic Psychodynamic Approach There can be many criticisms for humanistic therapy. This approach can be thought of as too positive at times, in regards to human behavior. With a humanistic approach individuals are assumed to be naturally good and will decide to follow the most positive way of doing things, by either making themselves and the world around them a better place (Mcleod, 2015). Choice and free will at times can be limited to some people, which then can make the application of this approach difficult. According to McLeod, Humanistic psychologists argue that objective reality is less important than a person s subjective perception and understanding of the world . (Mcleod, 2015). This can cause issues when trying to develop treatment and study it, different factors must be taken into consideration. This means that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The client centered method is no longer defined in terms of specific techniques or modes of response, but rather in terms of certain basic attitudes (Gendlin, 1962 as cited in Rogers, 1957, 1959). With the isolation of schizophrenic patients and also the fact that these patients were assigned psychotherapy involuntarily , would account for their characteristic refusals, silences, and absence of verbal exploration, as previously mentioned. (Gendlin, 1962). According to Gendlin, the attitudes of the therapists had the tendency to greatly increase patients reactions and behaviors, and as such, lead to modifications in their psychotherapy process. Second, the genuine expressiveness of the of the therapist is significant as well. It is important for the therapist to express themselves in a way that they clearly state their feelings at the time, without judgment. It can be said that when therapists take this approach they have the ability to often solidify and continue relationships by expressing themselves openly and being genuine. (Gendlin, ... Be sure to consider issues of comprehension and fluency, as well as perceived issues of power and coercion. It will be helpful to read the following article to inform your analysis: Informed consent is a process by which the participants voluntarily give their consent to be enrolled in the trail. This requires the person obtaining the consent to be able to clearly explain the nature and goals of the research, and all other essential information that the participant may want to know in a manner that promotes participants understanding. • 7. The Problem Of Fraud And Its Effects On Society Enlightenment thinker Giacomo Leopardi claims that [t]he combative spirit...derives from the folly of human beings who will not accept the circumstances of life (Leopardi). In a society where people value success over dignity, this lack of acceptance leads to the callous deception that causes so much suffering today. This deception, found in contract fraud, means that the one soliciting a contract benefits more than the one who signs it when the terms of the agreement are manipulated. Fraud has become one of the top three causes of bankruptcy in America, along with medical bills and job loss ( Top ). In fact, a 2015 study by the Federal Trade Commission found that 25.6 million people had agreed to a fraudulent contract that year because they were not clearly given all of the terms (Ramirez). The manipulation of contracts to gain an advantage in society implements precaution that undermines trust and ultimately leads to increasingly apathetic individuals. People exploit contract fraud to gain an advantage over others in our competitive society. People who commit contract fraud consent to do whatever it takes to become their definition of successful , regardless of the innocent people that suffer as a consequence. This could also come in the form of a misrepresentation of services. An anonymous survey conducted by Harvard University found that 52% of people surveyed lied on their resume to gain their desired job (Badaracco and Useem). A resume is like a promise that one ... • 9. Does Austerity Has Had A Corrosive Effect On The Disabled,... This essay intends to argue that austerity has had a corrosive effect on the disabled, poor, disadvantaged and penurious. There are various different measurements of inequality, the two that will be analysed in this essay is the Lorenz Curve and the Gini coefficient. This essay will then explore the case for austerity, and why the government decided to implement it. Since 2010, inequality has gone down and employment has gone up. The crux of this essay will focus on the way in which austerity has been implemented and the adverse consequences for those at the bottom of society. • 10. Characteristics Of Chimpanzee Throughout the world, there are multitudes of different species between the monkey and ape families. Chimpanzees follow under the species of the great apes which consist of the common chimpanzee; that most people are familiar with. The chimpanzee lives in the dense tropical rainforest of Africa. With this is mind, chimpanzees have been made to have certain features that allows them to survive effectively within their environment. One of the essential features of chimpanzees is their size. A chimpanzee generally weighs around 70 130 lbs and reaches the height of 4 5.5ft. Along with their size, fur is also a critical feature for them to have in order to thrive. Fur covers the top of its head, back, legs, and arms but does not have fur on its face, palm of its hands, toes, feet, chest, and stomach area. It would not make sense for a chimpanzee to have hair on their face because it would interfere with their sight. They don t have hair on their palms, toes, feet, chest and stomach because they have thick, coarse fur everywhere else which is able to keep their body temperature regulated. An equally important and easily recognizable feature of a chimpanzee would be their opposable thumbs. In addition to this, chimpanzee s make up of their bodies allows them to function in their environment. For instance, chimpanzee jaws are heavy and protruding, and the canine teeth are large. Their spines are constructed in a way where they can stand up similar to a human, but they also ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Active Learning Techniques Provide Opportunities For... Massey, Brown, and Johnson (2005) suggested that active learning techniques provide opportunities for faculty to increase social presence, engage students, and positively enhance performance. Studies have shown that students tend to learn more when they actively participate in the learning process through discussing, practicing, reviewing, and applying knowledge to develop new meanings (Mcalpin, 2015). Maki and Maki (2007) found that online instruction required the application of strong methodology along with providing students with opportunities to interact with each other and the instructor. Aside from purposeful course design, active learning in an online course requires instructors to be actively involved in the learning process (Gayton McEwen, 2007; Young, 2006). This involvement includes, but is not limited to, minimal participation in discussion boards, course announcements, e mail, and other forms of web based communication (Dixon, 2010). However Dennen, Aubteen Darabi, and Smith (2007) warned that too much active participation by the instructor has been shown to result in decreased student participation. The purpose of this study was to design an asynchronous online course that integrates active and engaging learning strategies tied to social presence theory to increase student satisfaction, retention, and to serve as a model master course for other online instructors at Western Piedmont Community College (WPCC). • 12. The Second Wave Feminism Introduction Women all over the world are marginalized in different ways. The movement to achieve equality and human rights for is called feminism. It includes educational, personal end cultural areas. Feminism involves political and sociological theories and philosophies with gender. The word feminism got mass popularity from the 1970s. Maggie Humm and Rebecca walker divided the history of feminism into three waves. The first wave focused on the promotion of equality in property and family law. It begins in the early twentieth century in the United Kingdom and in the united states. The second wave feminism comes as a continuation of the first wave to fight against the social and cultural inequalities like political inequalities. Second wave feminism started in the early 1960s and lasted up to 1980s. It was a continuation of the feminist movements in UK and US. It leads to the third wave feminism which retired as a response to perceiving the failures of the second wave. The first wave was more based on the rights and the second wave was about inequality. Whereas the feminists in the second wave saw the inequalities of women which was linked each other. They encourage people to understand about the personal life. The third wave ... • 14. What I Have Learned About Salbutamol Salbutamol (also known as albuterol in USA) is one of the most famous short acting β2 agonists. It has become first line treatment for asthma due to its effectiveness. I met this drug in a dispensing session in the first term and I think is a good example of what we have learnt so far. In this essay I will tell you what I know about this drug. Salbutamol is sold in its sulphate form and is marketed as a racemic product. According pharmaceutical chemistry this means that in it, it has 50% of the R enantiomer and 50% of the S enantiomer. However, only the R enantiomer is active at the β receptors. It is thought that the S enantiomer is inactive or causes adverse effects. Because of this, the pure R enantiomer was marketed levalbuterol. β receptor agonists are used in the treatment of asthma and COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) to relax the muscles in the air passages in the lungs. Salbutamol is a selective β2 adrenergic agonist, although this selectivity is relative and dose dependent. This means that the selectivity is lost at high concentration and thus causing side effects. Albuterol has affinity to β 2 receptors and binds to them, causing a relaxation effect. β2 receptors are members of the adrenergic family of receptors and therefore its effects are caused by an interaction with G proteins. β ... The city life gave the Irish a chance to continue to stay close to their families and communities, a chance to help one another out. This strong sense of belonging is evident in all Irish communities; the upper class would only try to help their own by giving them jobs or housing. The Irish did not only look to the streets for sanctuary, but also looked to a higher power. The most important community was that of the local church. For many, social events at the churches, such as dances and mixers, were a way for the Irish to unwind and relax. The churches and communities helped the families of the Irish grow and provided a backbone for the next hundred years. The improving times were not just a change for American, but also for the Irish. The improvement of the economic status of the Irish Americans helped boost family lift and esprit. Most Irish American families when first arriving in America had little or no money, thus forcing them to settle in the urban centers of the Northeast. Within the cities, families were close and revolved around the church, where they practiced catholic views and preaching against contraception; therefore, many Irish Catholics had very large families. Culture is a way of life or a group of people and the behaviors, beliefs, and values that they accept. Some forms of culture displayed openly throughout the film, and some are hidden between the images. This film was recently made in 2014 directed and written by Dan Gilroy. The feature embodies a thrilling tale that mirrors different aspects of today s culture in an exciting way. One of the main moments of culture that I noticed in this film is the violence that is shown. In today s culture, violence has become a part of every day media. It is shown in movies, video games, and even advertisements. This is represented when Lou tracks down two murderers in attempt to get the perfect shot for the TV news station that he works for. To briefly explain these principles so that some content can be more easily understood later in the thesis. Reduction means using technology to simplify complex tasks and the goal of this strategy is to let the desired behaviour more tempting by reducing the difficulties and to make it easier for the user. Tunnelling is to provide guidance to the user by guiding the user through a predefined sequence of activities, and this strategy is being well applied in current design and implementation of general mobile applications. For Longfellow it was The Tide Rises, the Tide Falls ..In the poem, The Tide Rises, the Tide Falls , the theme to me is surrounded around the fact of life goes on. The rise and fall of the tides in the ocean represent the way life is a roller coaster and it goes up and down and never slows down. An example to relate to the theme is when Longfellow says The day returns, but nevermore Returns the traveller to the shore, and the tide rises, the tide falls. While he claims this it supports the fact that this is about life changing, it supports it because once the day comes to an end, and the traveller (person living life) is at rest from a long day, the tide rises and falls. In other ways, life still goes on. Now as for John Whitter s poem, Snowbound, I believe the theme for this piece of literature is overcoming the odds. The setting I thought of was in a little cabin that was trying its best to stand tall through a harsh winter storm. The heat in doors was limited and the family inside was just trying to make it through what seemed like a never ending storm.
