Determinations Of Sucrose Concentration In Solanum...
Independent variable
Sucrose concentration (M) (±0.01 g) This variable would impact the investigation as the higher the
concentration of sucrose that is used in this experiment, the average percent change in mass in
Solanum tuberosum core will decrease. This will occur due to the fact as the solute concentration
begins to increase in the water, the solution will eventually become hypertonic, thus the percent
change in mass of the Solanum tuberosum core will start to decrease as water molecules move from a
region of low solute concentration inside the core to the higher solute concentration outside of the
core.
The amount of sucrose will be manipulated by concentrating it with water. The required amount of
sucrose for this experiment would be calculated using the formula:
Molarity (M) = moles of solute/ Litres of solution
Mass of solute = (moles of solute) (molar mass of solute)
Dependent variable
Average percent change in mass (%) Since the goal of this experiment is to estimate the osmolarity of
the Solanum tuberosum core, it is appropriate to measure the average percent change in mass, as when
the sucrose concentration is increased, the average percent change in mass will decrease. Eventually,
as the sucrose concentration increases, the Solanum tuberosum core will reach a 0% change in mass,
where the osmolarities will be equal.
The average percent change in mass will be determined by first finding the difference in mass of the
Solanum tuberosum core

Short Note On Gandhi s Room
I was surprised to discover that Gandhi s room was nothing more than a cell that could only be
accessed by walking out onto the rooftop. His cramped abode probably measured no more than three
feet across by seven feet long with an overpowering stench of raw onions. Gandhi turned graciously to
my mum and said, So you are the special woman assigned to look after me? I am a very lucky man.
Flirting again Mr Gandhi? teased Muriel. Gandhi let out another one of his infectious laughs. Just ring
ya bell and I ll be there at yer service Mr Gandhi, cooed Mum. He responded by taking her hand, the
one not holding the tools of her trade, into both of his and smiled with the innocence of a child, Mrs
Dobie, I promise I will not be a burden to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His body unceremoniously jolted backwards as he let out inaudible whimper. Mum stared mortified
before profusely apologising. He rubbed his temple with amusement before laughing, AGAIN! I
wished that she had knocked him out stone cold, permanently. The fool chuckled incessantly at
everything. The dunce patted the floor for me to join him, and reluctantly I obliged. I say, remarked
Mum, You ve kept your room very neat and tidy. Where s all yer stuff Mr Gandhi? Mum enquired.
With a single sweep of his hand he motioned, This is it. My whole existence. I m afraid I lead a
cluttered life, Grinning boyishly. Do, you think that I should throw more of my possessions away? I
was convinced that the man s head was empty just like his room which contained only a thin bedding
blanket on the floor, a spinning wheel, some white cloth folded neatly in the corner along with a bowl,
knife and spoon and a few books. Ole ya poor man Mr Gandhi. Is this all you can afford? said Mum.
Mrs Dobie, in my heart I am a very rich man. My measly mere possessions are nothing more than a
means to an end. Replied Gandhi, We re quite poor, lamented Mum. When the heart is brimming with
the love of God then the human spirit is never poor Mrs Dobie, said Gandhi. Mum stared into his eyes
contemplating his words. He stared back into hers with a reassuring

Death Of A Salesman Is A Tragedy In The Sense That It...
Death of a Salesman is a tragedy in the sense that it displays the consequences of commitment of one s
life towards an idealistic goal such as the American Dream. Willy Loman fails to see that he is an
unsuccessful salesman and to escape that harsh reality, he constantly reminisces his past. Which beg
the question, is Willy Loman a tragic hero? He may not be a conventional tragic hero but he indeed
had a downfall however, he wasn t in a distinguished position to say the least. He was everybody yet
simultaneously, nobody.
It could be argued that the author Arthur Miller, made him a hero when society decided he was
useless. Thus, it leads to his death. I don t say he s a great man. Willie Loman never made a lot of
money. His name was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
People could ve also argue that Biff Loman was a tragic hero who was also worth no more than a dime
a dozen but he undergoes to a form of emotional release upon Willy s death as he is rid of his father s
hopes for him and is at a position of greater understanding and is empowered. Why am I trying to
become what I don t want to be ... when all I want is out there, waiting for me the minute I say I know
who I am. (Miller). Willy was not able to achieve his dreams of success, and so he projected his
dreams onto his son Biff. But Biff was beginning to see the reality and the deception involved in the
system. If Biff s disillusionment were to become universal, then a change would take place in the
system.
I believe that Willy Loman can be considered a tragic hero, and was intended by his author, not in the
sense as his individual self but as a representative. Willy Loman represents millions of working
American men who end up on the when they become too old to be of value to their employers. Willy
Loman by himself is too insignificant of a character to be considered a tragic hero, but if we think of
him as being multiplied by the millions who preceded him and who will follow the same path, then his
fate becomes tragic by the sheer weight of numbers. It becomes obvious that Arthur Miller intended
Willy to symbolize workers under capitalism. They start off full of hopes, dreams, and enthusiasm
when they are young, but most of

Theory Analysis Essay
Notes
The ultimate goal of theory evaluation is to determine the potential of the theory to scientific
knowledge.
Hardy
Theory evaluation: o meaningful and logical adequacy o Operational and empirical adequacy o
Testability o Generality o Contribution to understanding o Predictability o Pragmatic adequacy
Logical adequacy (diagramming) identifying all theoretical terms (concepts, constructs, operational
definitions, referents).
Theory is a set of interrelated concepts and statements
Emprical adequacy single most important criterion for evaluating a theory applied in practice.

Ellis states that theories are insignificant if they do not generate a hypothesis of some sort (Ellis,
1968). Hardy states that a theory is made up of hypothesis derived from axioms, initial hypothesis or
postulates (Hardy, 1973). The second similarity I found between both theorists was the characteristic
of usefulness as a prime characteristic for the significance of a theory. Ellis states that theories are not
considered significant if their usefulness is not explored to develop and guide practice (Ellis, 1968).
Similarly, Hardy has a characteristic of pragmatic adequacy, which is essentially the usefulness of a
theory (Hardy, 1973). The third similarity I found was the characteristic of information generation
used in both theory evaluation approaches. Ellis states that significant theories are capable of
generating a great deal of new information (Ellis, 1968). Hardy s characteristic of contribution to
understanding is similar in that it explores new ideas, insight, and different ways of looking at the
theory (Hardy, 1973). The last similarity I found was the shared characteristic of generality and scope.
Ellis states that the broader the scope of the theory, the greater the significance of the theory (Ellis,
1968). Similarly, Hardy believes the more general a theory is; the more useful it is (Hardy, 1973).
I noticed a few differences between the two theorists. The first difference I noted was their views on

The Role Of Judges Lawyers And Lay People Within The...
Merit compare and contrast the role of judges ,lawyers and lay people within the English courts.
In this task I will write a report about comparing the roles of judges, lawyers and lay people within the
English courts.
Solicitors and barristers are both known as lawyers this term lawyer is used to describe anyone who is
a qualified legal practitioner. One of the main differences is the job role a solicitor is a legal expert
who provides expert legal advice and they come into more contact with their clients who could be
people, groups or businesses. Whereas a Barrister represents the individual people and the
organisation within the courts, they can also be distinguished from a solicitor because they wear a wig
and a gown in the court. One thing they both have in common is that they both can give legal advice
to their clients. On a day to day basis a solicitor will deal with the majority of the paperwork for
example, writing documents, contracts and letter this is all related to their clients .and take specific
instructions from their clients, depending on where they are specialist in they will be able to give
useful advice on the legal action. Whilst a barrister would mainly focus on advocacy which is to
represent their clients in court, they are normally hired by a solicitors and take instructions from there.
There main role is to represent their client cases in a persuasive representation in order to get the best
outcome for their client. The Legal services act 1990

The traditional and non traditional students go through different obstacles when deciding on what
degree courses they feel the is the most suitable for them. The traditional students at Talladega College
have the options of taking more courses on campus and to physically interact with their teachers for
quick and easy insight and feedback than the non traditional student. Traditional students also have
access to more degree programs and fewer chances of going through a rough process when obtaining
Master s degree after their undergraduate studies. The non traditional students at Talladega College

are used will help to give an outlook on what the problems consist of and how to resolve them. To get
the solutions that are needed for the increase of the non traditional student satisfaction, the need for a
better relationship between the faculty and the student must be addressed as an objective for
recruitment and continuance. The need for improvements with communication between faculty and
non traditional students can be a factor to having a decrease of student satisfaction with the Fast Track

Theatre Reflection Paper
Entry One: In order for you to understand my current situation and life, it is imperative you know the
backstory. Though far from glamorous, my past has greatly shaped the woman and leader I am today.
Born to a peasant mother and bear trainer father in Constantinople, my opportunities were limited.
Advancing in social class was not an option in this human jungle and my family s main goal was
survival. Once my father died, it became my older sister s and my responsibility to provide for our
family. Comito travelled through local theater s performing but I lacked the talent to dance or sing so
my roles were only as minor characters. Eventually, I gained popularity from my wit and charisma on
the stage and began performing on my own, though my shows were notoriously daring [and]
immodest. My success in the theater became success as a courtesan as those roles often went hand in
hand. I was highly paid for my supper parties. 3 I did not enjoy this humiliating job, but my lifestyle
was not unique. As a family of women, work was highly limited and often times prostitution was the
only option. Eventually I met Hecebolus and left my work as a courtesan and followed him to Tyre. I
assumed I had escaped my previous life of selling my body and performing on stage when I moved in
with Hecebolus but the liberation was short lived. Following an argument, I was on the street and once
again on my own forced to support myself in the only way I knew how. Alone in a foreign

Rio Sonora Valley Incident Analysis
In August 2014, while I was on holidays in a remote region of Mexico called The Rio Sonora Valley, I
witnessed the most outrageous natural disaster I have ever seen. It was caused by the spilling of more
than 40,000m3 of copper sulphate in the river, which savagely polluted it and affected thousands of
people, cattle and fish among others. This particular incident triggered my research about water
pollution, with a special focus on copper, and led me to the discovery of chitosan as a possible
cleanser of river waters.
Copper commonly occurs as a pollutant in surface fresh waters and it can be extremely toxic to fish ,
and so its removal is often necessary . There are several methods that exist in the actuality, such as

Importance Of English In Kenya
Most people who think of English will agree that it is one of the most diverse forms of
communication. A hybrid made of various words and phrases from other cultures, it is commonly
considered a lingua franca and is used to bring those various cultures together. But in some ~ cases,
English is not being used to bring the people together, but rather deliberately split them apart. Such a
case has been occurring in Kenya, where the usage of English has become an underhanded tool to
partition the power between the elites and the commoners.
Kenya is an Outer Circle country, which means that the use of English is the result of colonization and
has become ingrained in society and daily life as an important function. In Kenya s case, English was

In the year 1963, Kenya was fully declared independent from British rule. However, its influence still
exists throughout the country today. Currently, English is used in primary and secondary education,
and based on British English and spelling. (Cite as before) Today, English is one of the official
languages in Kenya, alongside Swahili, the native language.
Though English has many uses, and plays important roles, it has also been used as ulterior means to
promoting a (destructive) hegemony.
Kenya opted for capitalism and English as the most practical medium for business communication
(English around the World)
Despite the widespread presence of English throughout the country, (much like other countries) the
actual understanding and ~~ of English is low. In fact, it is estimated only twenty percent to a quarter
of the (common) population has a decent and ~~ understanding of the language. It is sometimes a
second, third or even fourth language for large segments of the population. . Even those who know
English may not be speaking it correctly.
This fact is the core of the governmental problem in Kenya English is being manipulated as a means
to ensure more power to the government and take away from the common people. For example, daily
media, magazines, and websites are widely biased towards using English and continue to grow. This
poses a big problem for government situations. The official language for documents and

The Chorus Picking Sides In Sophocles Oedipus Rex
The Chorus: Picking Sides? In the second choral ode of Sophocles play Oedipus Rex, the chorus
seems to condemn the Theban citizens lack of respect for Delphi s oracles and the Gods. The chorus
thoroughly explains that the Gods themselves set forth the moral laws of the universe, and nobody
should dare to break these rules. The chorus noting that the father of these rules is greater than Time,
and ages not (46) emphasizes the Gods power and virtue. The phrases greater than Time and ages not
mimic repetition, and emphasize that the Gods will remains forever, and that no one defies the Gods
will with impunity. The chorus then discusses a possible punishment for one s disrespecting Gods. The
chorus saying that anyone who dare hold / no immortal power in awe / Will be caught up in a net of
pain (46) clearly stresses the importance of obeying the Gods. However, in the chorus description of
the Gods punishment, the chorus also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The chorus advice, From blasphemy stand apart / Else the crackling blast of heaven / Blows on his
head, and on his desperate heart (46) exhibits the chorus lack of approval in the Gods punishments.
The contrast between one blasphemous act and God s crackling blast, likely a euphemism for death,
portrays the interaction between human and God as unjust. The chorus description of the guilty man s
heart as desperate emphasizes God s harsh, merciless nature. As the chorus begins to doubt the Gods
method of dealing with iniquity, the chorus then begins to question whether or not the Gods are even
fit to rule humans. That the chorus ponders, Zeus, if indeed you are lord of all (47) clearly displays the
chorus challenging the Gods authority directly. Here, the chorus may wonder not only if Zeus rules
over all humans, but also what qualifies Zeus to rule all . Either way, both questioning the Gods
existence and doubting the Gods ability to rule disrespect the

Witness Failure In The Investigation Process
There is a great importance on the questions that are asking to a witness about what they saw occur.
Although they may be certain of what they saw there is potential for witness failure because of many
factors. These factors can be things such as vision, lighting, memory and more. The vague description
that a witness delivers can lead to errors which can lead to lots of problems in the investigation
process. When the individuals were asked how old the suspect was in the video that they were shown,
their answers were anywhere from 18 30 years of age. There were some individuals who were quite
precise with their descriptions of the suspect and the scenario that they saw. On the other hand, there
were many who were vague and incorrect when answering questions. One way that interviews can go

This can be very bad and lead to false statements. The wording of how a question is asked is
extremely important in the response that the interviewee with response with. One example of how a
question can be asked is if the interviewer were to say did you see the scratch on the car? , rather than
asking did you see any scratches on the car? The way this question, and many others, is asked, can
direct the interviewee to state that they saw things even when they did not. These types of questions
are those which lead to false statements. It is very important to ask specific questions because of the
fallibility of witnesses. Our minds tend to fill in the blanks when we do not remember things and
therefore the things that we are filling in, also tend to be false. The reconstruction or filling in the
blanks of memories can be largely influenced by how questions are asked. This can happen through
leading questions or if the interviewer suggests things too intensely. Another example that was
provided was that when the interviewers asked what had happened, none of

for the Fossil Fuel to actually develop and ready to be used, and the main concern of Fossil Fuel is that
it cannot be consumed over and over again or reused. Through this analysis it can be assumed that
because it takes millions of years for the fossil fuel to develop, and we came up with two assumptions
that would lead the innovation of producing energy using different resources. The first assumption is
that there is more fossil fuel that is used rather than what is provided or reserved by the nature. This

There are two different types of thermal energy used, passive and active form. Passive solar heating
does not require any equipments because the heat because it enters the building independently. On the
other hand, active solar heating needs a medium to absorb and store solar radiation. One example of
an active solar heating is energy storage system. Other than that, solar thermal power plant indirectly
produces electric power when heat of the solar collected is used to heat a fluid; this method could
transfer a system to produce steam. Solar thermal energy works almost the same as creating energy
but actually it is by converting energy using the sun s radiation.
Besides passive and active benefits of using solar energy, it also has less damage and fewer side
effects to the environment since it does not produce any pollution. However, there are costs in terms of
producing solar cells. Many scientists aware of the negative impacts that photovoltaic cells production
has, it is because toxic metal such as mercury, lead, and cadmium are used during the process of
manufacturing solar cell. It definitely increases the issue of global warming. However we all know
that all good things must have a trade off, where in this case the amount of good that we receive is
more than the cost that we produce. Thus it is a good thing for the society.

Design Of The Guidance And Control Missile System
During the design of the guidance and control missile system, the missile mathematical modeling is
one of the most important steps. In this chapter, the mathematical model of the missile will be
structure using six equations of motion to represent the motion of a body with six degrees of freedom,
three force equations and three moment equations [6, 7]. Definitions of coordinate systems
Two coordinate systems can be defined to describe the movement of missile: the earth fixed
coordinate system and the body coordinate system. The two coordinate systems are right handed.
Earth fixed coordinate system (ECS)
The axes X_E and Y_E point to the directions north and east respectively, and are located on a plane
tangent to the surface of the earth. Consequently, axis Z_E point down the center of the earth,
according to the rule of law. In the literature, this coordinate system is also called the local coordinate
system or northeast down (NED). Body coordinate system (BCS)
This coordinate system is assumed to be fixed to the flight vehicle center of gravity and moving there
with. The axis X_B advanced forward through the nose, axis Y_B through the wing starboard (right)
and the axis Z_B down. Coordinate transformation system
The transformation T_BE the coordinate system fixed ground the axes of the system coordinates of
the missile body axes is performed by a yaw rotation, pitch, and roll around the longitudinal axis,
lateral, and normal ( vertical), respectively .

Capoeira Class Essay
When I went to the Capoeira class, I was not really sure what to expect. I saw the dancing from
videos, and I knew for a fact that I could not pull off any of the gymnastic moves most professional
Capoeira dancers can do easily. When we first started, I was surprised by the beginning basics of it.
The easy side steps were, well, easy until you stayed in that crouched position for long, then you
started to feel it. The next day, my back really felt that constant back movement. Anyways, the
beginning moves of defense and kicks were easy enough for someone who has been kicking in her

Seeing how the men persisted through and taught themselves fighting skills through dancing to be
protected against the government in Brazil is really amazing. I find it really interesting that it is still
considered a dance, even though it seems to be more martial arts. I am used to dance in the U.S. being
as modern, ballet, jazz, hip hop, and all those more classical styles. Also, I feel as like most men in the
U.S. also see dance this way, and as more of a girly sport (typical gender roles), so I feel like men
would be put off you said Capoeira is a dance. I feel like that label of dance automatically makes
people who have no idea what Capoeira is imagine it as something feminine. I want dance to be
respected and seen for both genders like in Brazil. I want men to be encouraged to dance, and I feel
like Capoeira would be one of the best examples of manly dancing that guys would be interested in
because it is a fighting style. Capoeira is a good bridge for the gender roles gap that dance experiences
in the U.S., and it should be more widely known across

The Media In The Movies
Moving on, zombies and the lower class have an interesting future ahead. According to the essay The
Media in the Movies zombies make their interactions primarily through pop culture and media. Media
is becoming the way of life around most of the world. Nearly everything is now digital and accessible
via an electronic device. This electronic domination can go both ways for zombies as their initial
appeal method of movies may take a hit because less people are heading to movie theaters and are
watching movies and television shows via streaming websites such as Netflix. According to MPPA.org
there has been a steep decline of about five percent in movie theater attendance. This can potentially
hurt the zombie appeal because movies are a huge display point for zombies and having a decline in
movie theater attendance mean less people are watching the zombie brand. On the flip side, it is
beginning to look like zombies are no longer relying on items such as movies but instead focus on
television shows in hopes of expanding the brand. Numerous zombie incorporated television shows
such as The Walking Dead have rapidly gained popularity as these shows are becoming much watch
TV for many people. In the midst of all this it seems as zombies aren t being hurt but rather changing.
Which is similar to the lower class as it will continue to evolve as well. In the current United States
economic system, the middle class is shrinking and soon there will only be a lower and an

Designing A Garment From A Technical Drawing
Designing has always been my expression way through different channels like painting, illustration,
puppet making, costume design creating a garment from a technical drawing. Briefly, I have started
learning the meaning of design term as a narrowed down topic that comes from the visual, sensational
and artistic side. In the art and design disciplines, there is no need asking other s opinions to complete
an artwork. I mean Leonardo or Picasso had never asked help from someone else to finish his
painting, as far as we know! Also, in the art and design schools, no one could get help to finish his
project because, it counted as plagiarism, so this situation grows individualism. But at the same we
need to grow observation ability to get inspired. When I get in business life as a fashion designer, I
need to be in collaboration with different types of people who come from different backgrounds, such
as buyers, manufacturers, pattern makers and so on to get the job done.It has positive and negative
effects, for instance, I can learn different things from different people but at the end I need to apply
people s decisions such as buyers or investors with my own technique because, allegedly they exactly
know the last year s best selling items and there is no need to submit something different from the
current designs, otherwise it will be risky . From the fabric to the design everything stays nearly same
just to keep selling without any risk. But, instead of complaining

Zen Noir By Marc Rosenbush
Marc Rosenbush s film, Zen Noir (2004), is at first glance a film thoroughly ensconced in the themes
of Zen Buddhism. Set in a dark and brooding film noir atmosphere, the film depicts the story of a
deeply troubled detective, at the end of his rope, who finds himself at a Zen monastery in order to
solve a murder. But once there, he realizes that things are not quite what they seem to be. As the film
unfolds, we find that the world Rosenbush has created for us is wildly symbolic, and it becomes clear
that the monastery is a symbol of the detective s psyche and that he was not investigating a murder,
but his own fear of death and loss. If this introspective, psychological element of the film is
recognized, the Buddhist themes of the film become conflated with allegories of navigating the
Western psyche. It is the contention of this paper that when the psychological themes of this film are
investigated, we will find that the alleged Buddhist theme of enlightenment in the film must compete
with a symbolic depiction of Jungian individuation.
The argument to be presented in this paper is two fold. First, it argues that the themes of the detective
s psychological growth in Zen Noir can also be understood (arguably better) through the hermeneutic
of Myers Briggs personality typology (MBTI) an expansion of Jung s personality typology and
Jungian individuation. Second, as a baseline to which to compare this psychological reading, this
paper introduces a second, authentic

Lisfranc Injury Research Paper
Lisfranc injury is the term used to describe a dislocation on the foot wherein the metatarsal bone/s is
displace from the tarsus. Lisfranc injury is named after the French surgeon and gynecologist, Jacques
Lisfranc de St. Martin who described the nature of the injury. Causes of Lisfranc injury can either be
direct or indirect. Direct injuries result to crushing of the foot such as someone landing on his foot
from a fall, heavy objects falling to a foot and foot being ran over by a car. Indirect injuries usually
involved twisting of the foot such as the rotational force on a downward pointing forefoot. Several
sports and activities are also prone to Lisfranc injuries such as: Football Wakeboarding Wind surfing

This is also indicative of a cuboidal fracture. Signs and Symptoms of a Lisfranc injury are: Worsening
pain when you either stand or walk. The area above the foot is swollen and painful. Bruising on both
top and bottom areas of the foot. Visible bruising at the bottom highly denotes that a Lisfranc injury is
present. Diagnosis of the injury are: X ray. Abnormalities and deformity of the midfoot should be
obvious during x rays. There will be a space between the base of the first and second toes. Magnetic
resonance imaging (MRI). It is not usually a requirement to undergo an MRI to diagnose a Lisfranc
injury though it helps show a better image of the soft tissues on your foot just like the tendons.
Computerized tomography scan (CT scan). Just like MRI, CT scan may also not be required by your
doctor to diagnose a Lisfranc injury though it provides a more detailed view of your foot compared to
x rays. CT scans are usually suggested when surgical operations are needed to help plan the surgery as
it shows the extent of the injury as well as the number of joints it has affected.

managed to get influenza. When she asked for the reward the Carbolic Company claimed that there
was no enforceable contract between it and the user of the smoke ball on the grounds that there was no
acceptance of the offer, because Mrs Carlill had never notified the Company that she accepted its
offer, nor furnished any consideration. The court held that in unilateral offers, the advertisement is an
offer which was accepted by Mrs Carlill. The courts also looked at the parties intention, such as the

Hence there was a binding contract.

Designing A Corporate Level Of The Renaissance Of...
Graphic Design, often referred to as visual communication, is the transmission of information and
ideas using symbols as defined by author David White. Type design and page layout began in the
Renaissance of classical literature and continued through the work of Italian humanists. However,
Design on a corporate level did not begin until the years after world war two. Following the war, good
design is good business was a major theme and the driving force for the future of the industry.
Giovanni Pintori was a designer at Olivetti, an Italian manufacturer of typewriters, computers, and

Gold states in his essay Taking the Robots to Design School , that this approach is used to analyze
typefaces and typographic trends, and generates type pairing based on what the computer has learned .
Gold s work gives us a taste of what is expected for the future of Graphic Design.
Studies suggest that the designer s role will change with the creation of new machine learning
technologies. Executive creative director at SapientNitro APAC, Clair Waring, agrees that a designer s
role will evolve into one of directing, selecting, and fine tuning, rather than making. Designer s will no
longer create artwork; they will conduct machine s by selecting concepts to push them further.
Designers will no longer be directly connected to the visual output of the work.
Even though it is probable that technology will be able to mimic the design process of the traditional
graphic designer, it is still uncertain that it will be able to replicate and produce aesthetic value that
can be transferred into feelings of luxury, harmony and elegance that a traditional designer can. A
study analyzing the personalities of graphic design students from the University of The State of
Mexico, concluded that the designer considers usefulness and wellness of others during their creation
process. Designers were defined as

The Negative Effects Of Gentrification
Gentrification, a very controversial topic that has just recently been brought to the surface in the past
few years, is the process of renovating and improving a house or district so that it conforms to middle
class taste ( Gentrification ). The two central arguments behind gentrification reflect its deeply
political controversy. One side of the political spectrum argues that gentrification decreases the rate of
crime and increases a neighborhood s value, while the other side argues that gentrification is a form of
institutionalized racism that replaces low income families and dramatically increases rates of
homelessness. The negative effects of this issue could not be anymore clear. In major cities like
Boston, the cost of living has skyrocketed just in the last five years. This process of removing housing
districts to increase the neighborhood s value is negatively affecting low income families, primarily
people of color, while wealthy middle to upper class white families are positively benefiting from it.
Gentrification is interfering with the diversity and economy of many urban areas and historically low
income neighborhoods. There is a very high displacement rate in the United States, particularly in
states like Massachusetts and New York due to gentrification. Evidence has shown that
in many urban areas, including Boston, gentrification contains a racial and ethnic dimension.

Beauty Is The Quality Of Beauty
What is Beauty? Greek Philosopher, Plato, once said: Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder. Everyone
has different points of view about what beauty is. Some people may perceive beauty as how someone
looks on the outside. Others may see beauty as being confident in your own skin. According to
dictionary.com, beauty is the quality in a thing or person that gives intense pleasure to the mind. For
me, beauty comes in act of kindness, in nature, and smiling faces. Beauty comes in act of kindness.

the water. I took hours looking at the horizon. As I stayed there look out into the horizon, the sun has

orange to pink and purpl. I got to see the sky go from day to night. As I start walking back I took one

The Issue of Media and Responsible News Coverage
October 14, 2013 Introduction The topic I chose to explore more in depth with is the issue of media
and the ethics behind responsible news coverage. I wanted to examine the guidelines of media
reporting as well as if proper aspects of responsibility, morality, and privacy is taking place when the
news instantly reports on different public issues, crimes, and incidents around the country. For
example, your child is at school when a gunman invades and openly shoots many other children and
teachers in the building. It feels like switch, within minutes of the event even occurring pictures are
shown on the TV of a classroom maybe even your own child and her class walking out of the building
in fear, that night it s on the front page of the newspaper and you had no idea. Is this acceptable? Are
there any rules or say in approving this? For me personally I would be angry in that their was no
consent for that my child to be shown in that way after something so terrible happening. I wanted to
investigate media coverage and events in relation to ethical guidelines of how scenarios should be
handled and if they are, in fact, followed in the ways learned in our from our textbook. Background In
our world today, we hear in an instant what has happened and is happening to other people in different
places around the country in a matter of minutes. The media will report on every single detail of that
story and even photographs anyone involved with the incident but is this ethical? Does

A Study On Congenital Visual Agnosia And Prosopagnosia
Case Study: Congenital Visual Agnosia and Prosopagnosia in a Child
In this paper I will be doing a literature review and evaluating the case study of a particular younger
patient with Congenital Visual Agnosia and Prosopagnosia. Visual agnosia is the impairment of the
recognition of different object stimuli, which cannot be explained by other sensory losses (Ariel,
Sadeh, 1996). There is said to be two different classifications or types of diagnosed visual agnosia,
associate and appreciative agnosia (Ariel, Sadeh, 1996). Appreciative agnosia is caused by perseptual
impartments, and associative agnosia can be cause by multiple different conditions that cause the loss
of object recognition, and don t really seem to be associated with no other extreme visual impairments
(Ariel, Sadeh, 1996). In this case the child appears to have a case of associative developmental
agnosia.
Congenital Visual Agnosia in this particular child s case, was not cause by anything affecting a visual
perceptual system that was normal (Ariel, Sadeh, 1996). Instead, in this particular case the child had
visual system that was developed abnormally since birth (Ariel, Sadeh, 1996). It is also mentioned in
this case study that this particular case of congenital visual agnosia is important for research in
understanding both agnosia in children but also how object recognition systems should develop
normally (Ariel, Sadeh, 1996). In this particular case study the child they are looking at was

Clinical Personality Analysis
Two important personality traits for clinical psychologist include agreeableness and extraversion;
focusing especially on the traits of altruism, cooperation, and assertiveness. Clinical psychologists
need to work well with others. They also need to be able to take charge of a situation. People who are
working in a job where they are helping people every day, such as clinical psychologist, should find
enjoyment in helping others. Conscientiousness, and all its facets, are important for this professional
position. Being organized, detail oriented, and achievement seeking are all important factors to be
successful. 1. I feel like, for the most part, the questionnaire did a good job at describing me. It nailed
certain aspects I m low in extraversion. I m friendly and I warm up to people, but I also tend to just do

The Assessment Of Osborne And Waters
In statistical tests, we must rely on assumptions regarding the variables we used in the analysis. If
these assumptions are not met we may arrive at results that are incorrect, or not representative of the
population, typically due to a Type I or a Type II error, or an over or under estimation of significance
or effect size. Osborne and Waters (n.d., p. 1) quote an 1997 article by Pedhazur stating Knowledge
and understanding of the situations when violations of assumptions lead to serious biases, and when
they are of little consequence, are essential to meaningful data analysis which while a very important
point, really only holds importance when researchers test assumptions, an important step in data
analysis that is rarely performed. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These tests give researchers information about normality, while the K S tests provide inferential
statistics on normality. One of the best tests for outliers is a visual inspection of histograms, as well as
frequency distributions or converting data to z scores. The removal of univariate and bivariate outliers
can reduce the probability of Type I and Type II errors, which improve the accuracy of some
estimates. It is important to consider that removing outliers is not always desirable, in which case
transformations can improve normality. This can complicate the interpretation of the results, and
therefore should only be used deliberately and in an informed manner. To accurately estimate the
relationship between dependent and independent variables using standard multiple regression, these
relationships must be linear in nature. This is why it is so important to examine analyses for non linear
data, as non linear data will result in a regression analysis that under estimates the true relationship.
Under estimation carries some risk, in particular an increased chance of Type II errors for the
independent variable, and in the case of multiple regression, an increased risk of Type I errors (over
estimation) for other independent variables that share variance with that variable. There are a few
primary ways to detect non linearity in the data. The use of theory or previous research can be used to
inform current analyses,

  • 2. Determinations Of Sucrose Concentration In Solanum... Independent variable Sucrose concentration (M) (±0.01 g) This variable would impact the investigation as the higher the concentration of sucrose that is used in this experiment, the average percent change in mass in Solanum tuberosum core will decrease. This will occur due to the fact as the solute concentration begins to increase in the water, the solution will eventually become hypertonic, thus the percent change in mass of the Solanum tuberosum core will start to decrease as water molecules move from a region of low solute concentration inside the core to the higher solute concentration outside of the core. The amount of sucrose will be manipulated by concentrating it with water. The required amount of sucrose for this experiment would be calculated using the formula: Molarity (M) = moles of solute/ Litres of solution Mass of solute = (moles of solute) (molar mass of solute) Dependent variable Average percent change in mass (%) Since the goal of this experiment is to estimate the osmolarity of the Solanum tuberosum core, it is appropriate to measure the average percent change in mass, as when the sucrose concentration is increased, the average percent change in mass will decrease. Eventually, as the sucrose concentration increases, the Solanum tuberosum core will reach a 0% change in mass, where the osmolarities will be equal. The average percent change in mass will be determined by first finding the difference in mass of the Solanum tuberosum core ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Short Note On Gandhi s Room I was surprised to discover that Gandhi s room was nothing more than a cell that could only be accessed by walking out onto the rooftop. His cramped abode probably measured no more than three feet across by seven feet long with an overpowering stench of raw onions. Gandhi turned graciously to my mum and said, So you are the special woman assigned to look after me? I am a very lucky man. Flirting again Mr Gandhi? teased Muriel. Gandhi let out another one of his infectious laughs. Just ring ya bell and I ll be there at yer service Mr Gandhi, cooed Mum. He responded by taking her hand, the one not holding the tools of her trade, into both of his and smiled with the innocence of a child, Mrs Dobie, I promise I will not be a burden to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His body unceremoniously jolted backwards as he let out inaudible whimper. Mum stared mortified before profusely apologising. He rubbed his temple with amusement before laughing, AGAIN! I wished that she had knocked him out stone cold, permanently. The fool chuckled incessantly at everything. The dunce patted the floor for me to join him, and reluctantly I obliged. I say, remarked Mum, You ve kept your room very neat and tidy. Where s all yer stuff Mr Gandhi? Mum enquired. With a single sweep of his hand he motioned, This is it. My whole existence. I m afraid I lead a cluttered life, Grinning boyishly. Do, you think that I should throw more of my possessions away? I was convinced that the man s head was empty just like his room which contained only a thin bedding blanket on the floor, a spinning wheel, some white cloth folded neatly in the corner along with a bowl, knife and spoon and a few books. Ole ya poor man Mr Gandhi. Is this all you can afford? said Mum. Mrs Dobie, in my heart I am a very rich man. My measly mere possessions are nothing more than a means to an end. Replied Gandhi, We re quite poor, lamented Mum. When the heart is brimming with the love of God then the human spirit is never poor Mrs Dobie, said Gandhi. • 4. Death Of A Salesman Is A Tragedy In The Sense That It... Death of a Salesman is a tragedy in the sense that it displays the consequences of commitment of one s life towards an idealistic goal such as the American Dream. Willy Loman fails to see that he is an unsuccessful salesman and to escape that harsh reality, he constantly reminisces his past. Which beg the question, is Willy Loman a tragic hero? He may not be a conventional tragic hero but he indeed had a downfall however, he wasn t in a distinguished position to say the least. He was everybody yet simultaneously, nobody. It could be argued that the author Arthur Miller, made him a hero when society decided he was useless. Thus, it leads to his death. I don t say he s a great man. Willie Loman never made a lot of money. His name was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... People could ve also argue that Biff Loman was a tragic hero who was also worth no more than a dime a dozen but he undergoes to a form of emotional release upon Willy s death as he is rid of his father s hopes for him and is at a position of greater understanding and is empowered. Why am I trying to become what I don t want to be ... when all I want is out there, waiting for me the minute I say I know who I am. (Miller). Willy was not able to achieve his dreams of success, and so he projected his dreams onto his son Biff. But Biff was beginning to see the reality and the deception involved in the system. If Biff s disillusionment were to become universal, then a change would take place in the system. I believe that Willy Loman can be considered a tragic hero, and was intended by his author, not in the sense as his individual self but as a representative. Willy Loman represents millions of working American men who end up on the when they become too old to be of value to their employers. Willy Loman by himself is too insignificant of a character to be considered a tragic hero, but if we think of him as being multiplied by the millions who preceded him and who will follow the same path, then his fate becomes tragic by the sheer weight of numbers. It becomes obvious that Arthur Miller intended Willy to symbolize workers under capitalism. They start off full of hopes, dreams, and enthusiasm when they are young, but most of ... • 5. Theory Analysis Essay Notes The ultimate goal of theory evaluation is to determine the potential of the theory to scientific knowledge. Hardy Theory evaluation: o meaningful and logical adequacy o Operational and empirical adequacy o Testability o Generality o Contribution to understanding o Predictability o Pragmatic adequacy Logical adequacy (diagramming) identifying all theoretical terms (concepts, constructs, operational definitions, referents). Theory is a set of interrelated concepts and statements Emprical adequacy single most important criterion for evaluating a theory applied in practice. Margaret Ellis o Identified characteristics of significant theories  Scope  Complexity  Testability  Usefulness  Implicit values of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ellis states that theories are insignificant if they do not generate a hypothesis of some sort (Ellis, 1968). Hardy states that a theory is made up of hypothesis derived from axioms, initial hypothesis or postulates (Hardy, 1973). The second similarity I found between both theorists was the characteristic of usefulness as a prime characteristic for the significance of a theory. Ellis states that theories are not considered significant if their usefulness is not explored to develop and guide practice (Ellis, 1968). Similarly, Hardy has a characteristic of pragmatic adequacy, which is essentially the usefulness of a theory (Hardy, 1973). The third similarity I found was the characteristic of information generation used in both theory evaluation approaches. Ellis states that significant theories are capable of generating a great deal of new information (Ellis, 1968). Hardy s characteristic of contribution to understanding is similar in that it explores new ideas, insight, and different ways of looking at the theory (Hardy, 1973). The last similarity I found was the shared characteristic of generality and scope. Ellis states that the broader the scope of the theory, the greater the significance of the theory (Ellis, 1968). Similarly, Hardy believes the more general a theory is; the more useful it is (Hardy, 1973). I noticed a few differences between the two theorists. The first difference I noted was their views on the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Role Of Judges Lawyers And Lay People Within The... Merit compare and contrast the role of judges ,lawyers and lay people within the English courts. In this task I will write a report about comparing the roles of judges, lawyers and lay people within the English courts. Solicitors and barristers are both known as lawyers this term lawyer is used to describe anyone who is a qualified legal practitioner. One of the main differences is the job role a solicitor is a legal expert who provides expert legal advice and they come into more contact with their clients who could be people, groups or businesses. Whereas a Barrister represents the individual people and the organisation within the courts, they can also be distinguished from a solicitor because they wear a wig and a gown in the court. One thing they both have in common is that they both can give legal advice to their clients. On a day to day basis a solicitor will deal with the majority of the paperwork for example, writing documents, contracts and letter this is all related to their clients .and take specific instructions from their clients, depending on where they are specialist in they will be able to give useful advice on the legal action. Whilst a barrister would mainly focus on advocacy which is to represent their clients in court, they are normally hired by a solicitors and take instructions from there. There main role is to represent their client cases in a persuasive representation in order to get the best outcome for their client. The Legal services act 1990 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Theatre Reflection Paper Entry One: In order for you to understand my current situation and life, it is imperative you know the backstory. Though far from glamorous, my past has greatly shaped the woman and leader I am today. Born to a peasant mother and bear trainer father in Constantinople, my opportunities were limited. Advancing in social class was not an option in this human jungle and my family s main goal was survival. Once my father died, it became my older sister s and my responsibility to provide for our family. Comito travelled through local theater s performing but I lacked the talent to dance or sing so my roles were only as minor characters. Eventually, I gained popularity from my wit and charisma on the stage and began performing on my own, though my shows were notoriously daring [and] immodest. My success in the theater became success as a courtesan as those roles often went hand in hand. I was highly paid for my supper parties. 3 I did not enjoy this humiliating job, but my lifestyle was not unique. As a family of women, work was highly limited and often times prostitution was the only option. Eventually I met Hecebolus and left my work as a courtesan and followed him to Tyre. I assumed I had escaped my previous life of selling my body and performing on stage when I moved in with Hecebolus but the liberation was short lived. Following an argument, I was on the street and once again on my own forced to support myself in the only way I knew how. Alone in a foreign ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Rio Sonora Valley Incident Analysis In August 2014, while I was on holidays in a remote region of Mexico called The Rio Sonora Valley, I witnessed the most outrageous natural disaster I have ever seen. In the second choral ode of Sophocles play Oedipus Rex, the chorus seems to condemn the Theban citizens lack of respect for Delphi s oracles and the Gods. The chorus thoroughly explains that the Gods themselves set forth the moral laws of the universe, and nobody should dare to break these rules. The chorus noting that the father of these rules is greater than Time, and ages not (46) emphasizes the Gods power and virtue. The phrases greater than Time and ages not mimic repetition, and emphasize that the Gods will remains forever, and that no one defies the Gods will with impunity. According to the essay The Media in the Movies zombies make their interactions primarily through pop culture and media. Media is becoming the way of life around most of the world. Nearly everything is now digital and accessible via an electronic device. This electronic domination can go both ways for zombies as their initial appeal method of movies may take a hit because less people are heading to movie theaters and are watching movies and television shows via streaming websites such as Netflix. According to MPPA.org there has been a steep decline of about five percent in movie theater attendance. This can potentially hurt the zombie appeal because movies are a huge display point for zombies and having a decline in movie theater attendance mean less people are watching the zombie brand. • 23. Zen Noir By Marc Rosenbush Marc Rosenbush s film, Zen Noir (2004), is at first glance a film thoroughly ensconced in the themes of Zen Buddhism. Set in a dark and brooding film noir atmosphere, the film depicts the story of a deeply troubled detective, at the end of his rope, who finds himself at a Zen monastery in order to solve a murder. But once there, he realizes that things are not quite what they seem to be. As the film unfolds, we find that the world Rosenbush has created for us is wildly symbolic, and it becomes clear that the monastery is a symbol of the detective s psyche and that he was not investigating a murder, but his own fear of death and loss. If this introspective, psychological element of the film is recognized, the Buddhist themes of the film become conflated with allegories of navigating the Western psyche. It is the contention of this paper that when the psychological themes of this film are investigated, we will find that the alleged Buddhist theme of enlightenment in the film must compete with a symbolic depiction of Jungian individuation. The argument to be presented in this paper is two fold. First, it argues that the themes of the detective s psychological growth in Zen Noir can also be understood (arguably better) through the hermeneutic of Myers Briggs personality typology (MBTI) an expansion of Jung s personality typology and Jungian individuation. Gold s work gives us a taste of what is expected for the future of Graphic Design. Studies suggest that the designer s role will change with the creation of new machine learning technologies. Executive creative director at SapientNitro APAC, Clair Waring, agrees that a designer s role will evolve into one of directing, selecting, and fine tuning, rather than making. Designer s will no longer create artwork; they will conduct machine s by selecting concepts to push them further. Designers will no longer be directly connected to the visual output of the work. Even though it is probable that technology will be able to mimic the design process of the traditional graphic designer, it is still uncertain that it will be able to replicate and produce aesthetic value that can be transferred into feelings of luxury, harmony and elegance that a traditional designer can. A study analyzing the personalities of graphic design students from the University of The State of Mexico, concluded that the designer considers usefulness and wellness of others during their creation process. • 27. The Negative Effects Of Gentrification Gentrification, a very controversial topic that has just recently been brought to the surface in the past few years, is the process of renovating and improving a house or district so that it conforms to middle class taste ( Gentrification ). The two central arguments behind gentrification reflect its deeply political controversy. One side of the political spectrum argues that gentrification decreases the rate of crime and increases a neighborhood s value, while the other side argues that gentrification is a form of institutionalized racism that replaces low income families and dramatically increases rates of homelessness. The negative effects of this issue could not be anymore clear. In major cities like Boston, the cost of living has skyrocketed just in the last five years. This process of removing housing districts to increase the neighborhood s value is negatively affecting low income families, primarily people of color, while wealthy middle to upper class white families are positively benefiting from it. Gentrification is interfering with the diversity and economy of many urban areas and historically low income neighborhoods. There is a very high displacement rate in the United States, particularly in states like Massachusetts and New York due to gentrification. Evidence has shown that in many urban areas, including Boston, gentrification contains a racial and ethnic dimension. When I was in high school, I volunteered to make and hand out food to those who were less fortunate. We first stopped at a shelter where people were sitting either watching television, reading the newspaper, or just sitting and talking to a friend. We walked in and put a box of sandwiches on a table, and started to hand them out. The people were very grateful and said thank you with huge smiles on their faces. Watching those people smile, bite into sandwiches, and drink their drink warmed my heart. Their smiles made me smile. Knowing that my time was used to make someone s day more hopeful. I began ... • 33. The Issue of Media and Responsible News Coverage October 14, 2013 Introduction The topic I chose to explore more in depth with is the issue of media and the ethics behind responsible news coverage. I wanted to examine the guidelines of media reporting as well as if proper aspects of responsibility, morality, and privacy is taking place when the news instantly reports on different public issues, crimes, and incidents around the country. For example, your child is at school when a gunman invades and openly shoots many other children and teachers in the building. It feels like switch, within minutes of the event even occurring pictures are shown on the TV of a classroom maybe even your own child and her class walking out of the building in fear, that night it s on the front page of the newspaper and you had no idea. Is this acceptable? Are there any rules or say in approving this? For me personally I would be angry in that their was no consent for that my child to be shown in that way after something so terrible happening. I wanted to investigate media coverage and events in relation to ethical guidelines of how scenarios should be handled and if they are, in fact, followed in the ways learned in our from our textbook. Background In our world today, we hear in an instant what has happened and is happening to other people in different places around the country in a matter of minutes. The media will report on every single detail of that story and even photographs anyone involved with the incident but is this ethical? Does ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. A Study On Congenital Visual Agnosia And Prosopagnosia Case Study: Congenital Visual Agnosia and Prosopagnosia in a Child In this paper I will be doing a literature review and evaluating the case study of a particular younger patient with Congenital Visual Agnosia and Prosopagnosia. Visual agnosia is the impairment of the recognition of different object stimuli, which cannot be explained by other sensory losses (Ariel, Sadeh, 1996). There is said to be two different classifications or types of diagnosed visual agnosia, associate and appreciative agnosia (Ariel, Sadeh, 1996). Appreciative agnosia is caused by perseptual impartments, and associative agnosia can be cause by multiple different conditions that cause the loss of object recognition, and don t really seem to be associated with no other extreme visual impairments (Ariel, Sadeh, 1996). In this case the child appears to have a case of associative developmental agnosia. Congenital Visual Agnosia in this particular child s case, was not cause by anything affecting a visual perceptual system that was normal (Ariel, Sadeh, 1996). Instead, in this particular case the child had visual system that was developed abnormally since birth (Ariel, Sadeh, 1996). It is also mentioned in this case study that this particular case of congenital visual agnosia is important for research in understanding both agnosia in children but also how object recognition systems should develop normally (Ariel, Sadeh, 1996). In this particular case study the child they are looking at was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Clinical Personality Analysis Two important personality traits for clinical psychologist include agreeableness and extraversion; focusing especially on the traits of altruism, cooperation, and assertiveness. Clinical psychologists need to work well with others. They also need to be able to take charge of a situation. People who are working in a job where they are helping people every day, such as clinical psychologist, should find enjoyment in helping others. Conscientiousness, and all its facets, are important for this professional position. Being organized, detail oriented, and achievement seeking are all important factors to be successful. 1. I feel like, for the most part, the questionnaire did a good job at describing me. It nailed certain aspects I m low in extraversion. I m friendly and I warm up to people, but I also tend to just do my own thing. I do not typically reach out to people first, but I always try to be friendly to people who reach out to me. • 36. The Assessment Of Osborne And Waters In statistical tests, we must rely on assumptions regarding the variables we used in the analysis. If these assumptions are not met we may arrive at results that are incorrect, or not representative of the population, typically due to a Type I or a Type II error, or an over or under estimation of significance or effect size. Osborne and Waters (n.d., p. 1) quote an 1997 article by Pedhazur stating Knowledge and understanding of the situations when violations of assumptions lead to serious biases, and when they are of little consequence, are essential to meaningful data analysis which while a very important point, really only holds importance when researchers test assumptions, an important step in data analysis that is rarely performed. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These tests give researchers information about normality, while the K S tests provide inferential statistics on normality. One of the best tests for outliers is a visual inspection of histograms, as well as frequency distributions or converting data to z scores. The removal of univariate and bivariate outliers can reduce the probability of Type I and Type II errors, which improve the accuracy of some estimates. It is important to consider that removing outliers is not always desirable, in which case transformations can improve normality. This can complicate the interpretation of the results, and therefore should only be used deliberately and in an informed manner. To accurately estimate the relationship between dependent and independent variables using standard multiple regression, these relationships must be linear in nature. This is why it is so important to examine analyses for non linear data, as non linear data will result in a regression analysis that under estimates the true relationship. Under estimation carries some risk, in particular an increased chance of Type II errors for the independent variable, and in the case of multiple regression, an increased risk of Type I errors (over estimation) for other independent variables that share variance with that variable. There are a few primary ways to detect non linearity in the data. The use of theory or previous research can be used to inform current analyses, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
