Amreeka Movie Essay
Amreeka, filmed in 2009 and directed by Cherien Dabis, is the story of a Palestinian single mother
and her teenage son s immigration to America. Muna (Nisreen Faour) and her son Fadi (Melkar
Muellan) migrate to America from their home in Palestine, a territory in Israel, to stay with family. In
America, they face the struggles of cultural barriers and the stereotypes associated with Middle
Eastern heritage especially in the times after 9/11, an alleged terrorist attack on U.S. soil blamed on
Muslim extremists from the Middle East. In Palestine, they are ID d and subjected to discrimination
every time they want to cross over to a neighboring town. Palestinians are not given many freedoms in

Fadi gets into a physical altercation at school with a racist bully after Fadi and his cousin sliced his
tires in revenge for harassing Fadi. The bully made a joke the first day of class that Fadi secretly
builds bombs, and the bully wrote on Fadi s cousin Selma s (Alia Shawkat) car the misspelled name
Al Kada, which is the terrorist group responsible for 9/11. Principal Novatski assures Muna during the
car ride that the kids do not know any different, and when they hear about one Muslim extremists then
all Muslims are extremists. Muna is saddened by this not only because it is not true that all followers
of the Muslim religion perform such atrocities but that she herself is not even a Muslim. The principal
is instantly taken aback at the falseness of his claim which he thought to be true, but then adds that he,
too, is a polish American so he can relate to the stereotypes set in place for people of different origins

Observation Of Behavior
Evaluation: My observations was on Paul since he was the only adult performing a behavior. It was
difficult since he is not very verbal and also task takes him a long time to perform. I observed two
behaviors performed by Paul within the twenty minutes. What I believe happen first was Paul
observed himself in the compact mirror from 12:45 12:46pm because he wanted to look for an allergic
reaction. When Paul took out his compact mirror to observe his face it showed he understood
something must have happen when he ate certain food. However, since he is not fully verbal he

Representative Peter DeFazio s Party Unity Score Discussion
In 2013, Rep. Peter DeFazio s (D, OR 4) party unity score was 94% (Weyl, 183). Party unity as
defined in the textbook, Congress and Its Members, are votes in which the majority of voting
Republicans oppose a majority of voting Democrats. In other words, average votes Peter DeFazio
casted with the Democratic majority against the Republican majority. Furthermore, party affiliation as
well as ideological positions, and the constituency pressure are strongly correlated with congressmen s
voting decisions (Davidson, Oleskek, Lee 2014, 255). The roll call vote that I chose to calculate the
party unity score of Rep. DeFazio was the roll call vote named Disaster Supplement Fish and Wildlife
Construction. This roll call concerned a bill named Super Storm Sandy Disaster Aid. The purpose of
the roll call was to determine if hinder funding for the Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) to repair
seawalls and buildings on wildlife refuges that are damaged by a natural disaster. The reduction of
funds to the FWS by $9.8 million was another main point of the roll call vote. This roll call voting
would determine how much funding would be provided to FWS to help the communities affect by
Hurricane Sandy as well as other damaged wildlife refuges across the nation. In this issue, Rep,
DeFazio voted nay along with 189 Democrats. However, the outcome of the voting was 216 to 205 in
favor of the Republican Party (CQ Weekly, 2013). A particular factor that influenced Rep. DeFazio

Water and Fire Compare and Contrast
Water and Fire Water and fire, two very different elements. But, What really makes these two elements
different? Fire burns. It is used to hurt and to kill, but it can also be used for heat and for light. Water
soothes. It is used to revive people who are sick and to help to cool off in a hot summer day, but it can
it be used for torture and to drown living things. In spite of all of their differences they do have three
things in common Oxygen, they both kill, and they are both necessary for survival. Fire, it was
discovered by the ancient caveman and has been used for many things including heat. The cavemen
realized ,when they discovered fire, that it gave off heat and that it could be used on the coldest of
nights to stay warm. It ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Partners In Health Organization Analysis
Partners in Health are a very unique organization because they send their professional staff to the
countries in need of desperate help. Their main goal is to help the world s poorest and sickest
communities which are why they are on a mission to transform global health, one patient at a time.
Whether it is Rwanda or Zimbabwe, Partners in Health travel to help out the countries that are most in
need by delivering food or administering vaccinations. They care for patients in their homes and
communities. Partners in Health aid these countries in numerous ways through priority programs; a

Coming up with development strategies can be difficult because it is not a one shoe fits all concept.
Many different countries and organizations have their own development plans that specifically fit their
needs, for example; in class we learned that Africa as well as Europe and North America and Asia
have their own development plans special to their wishes and desires. For Partners in Health, I would
focus on donations and getting the organization more widely popular. This organization already has
well known sponsors such as the American Cancer Society and the Ronald McDonald House so I
would reach out to more businesses and encourage them to donate. There are a variety of development
strategies but there is only about one or two that would be useful for Partners in Health. One
development strategy that would not work would be the import substitution industrialization strategy
because it is a trade and economic policy which advocates replacing foreign imports with domestic
production. It is based on the premise that a country should attempt to reduce its foreign dependency
through the local production of industrialized

Franklin s Virtue Analysis
The art of virtue is a distinct method employed by Franklin. The method features thirteen different
aspects: Temperance, Silence, Order, Resolution, Frugality, Industry, Sincerity, Justice, Moderation,
Cleanliness, Tranquility, Chastity, and Humility . Franklin believed that it was essential and
advantageous for one to follow this instruction of method, not only to be happy, but to attain clarity,
morality, and virtue. Franklin s first act of virtue, temperance, necessitated self control of eating and
drinking Eat not to Dulnesss / Drink not to Elevation (987). Franklin s second virtue, silence, dictated
not to involve yourself in useless discussion, as he illuminates Speak not but what may benefit others
or yourself (987). Franklin s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The art of virtue is not precisely religious, it has more to do with the personal self, most importantly
self reliance. Whereas, in Puritan values one must always rely first on God and his true and devout
ways. On the topic of religion, in the art of virtue, Franklin himself wrote that he purposely avoided
them for being fully persuaded of the Utility and Excellency of my Method, and that it might be
serviceable to People in all Religions (992). In the discernments of Puritan s, Franklin leaving out any
religion in his art of virtue would have been deeply looked down upon, since in their eyes there is only
one true religion and all must follow it. Franklin s art of virtue was meant for any and all ideals, as
long as one was looking for morality. Everything in a Puritan s life is done for God and the ideal that
by following his instructions they will wind up in that well deserved place called heaven. The art of
virtue focuses on the ideal of the moral self, and what that entails for one s personal virtue, how these
virtues will help them throughout the life they are living, and is not worried about Gods judgement or
where that might lead them in the

Asthma Treatment
Asthma Treatment
Asthma is best described as a chronic inflammation the pulmonary lower airways because of
hyperresponsiveness of lower airway obstructions that is usually reversible (Fireman, 2003). Asthma
is triggered by cold air, exercise, viral upper respiratory infections, cigarette smoking, and respiratory
allergens. One in 12 people in the United States has been diagnosed with asthma which is
approximately 25 million people which accounts for 8% of the total population (AAAAI, 2016). It is
estimated that the average cost for care of asthma in the United States is about $3,300.00 yearly in
related medical expenses, missed school, missed worked days and early death (AAAAI, 2016). The

An effective asthma plan should include: knowing the triggers of the patient s asthma attacks, taking
the prescribed medication to control asthma and being able to recognize the early signs of an asthma
attack (AAFA, 2015). Being able to understand and identify triggers reduces the use and need for
medication and prevents asthma attacks from occurring. Educating patients on the regular use of
prescribed medication and the importance of compliance is a key factor in asthma management.
Prescribing patient with meter dose inhaler is a beneficial option in the management of an acute
asthma attack for patients. An important goal to set for patients with asthma is the use of a peak flow
meter that can help the patient detect early narrowing of the airways hours or even days before an
asthma attack

Ge Case Analysis
, Case #1: the turbine generator industry
The default prediction that we d make using economic theory (or common sense) in the absence of
game theory is that, in the turbine generator case, General Electric should have undercut Westinghouse
because the former has lower costs.
But we start to see why it didn t when we introduce capacity constraints into the Bertrand model.
Capacity constraints can stem from two things: decreasing returns to scale, or demand uncertainties
that create expected inventory cost risks and induce firms to produce to order and carry backlogs. The
second condition certainly prevails in the turbine generator case.
Anti trust regulators observed that both GE and Westinghouse were pricing higher than ... Show more

Empirical data suggests successful signaling between the firms in the Cournot aspect of their game
also.
Attempts by government to discourage tacit collusion in industries like this one are worse than silly.
They harm businesses and consumers, bring in no extra public revenue, and may actually create
monopolies instead of discouraging them! Such perverse competition policies are nevertheless in
place in both the European Union and South Africa.
In the United States, firms can be investigated for collusion by the anti trust authority only if there is
physical evidence of communication about pricing strategies between competing firms. In the EU and
SA, by contrast, competition authorities can investigate merely because they observe that industry
prices aren t at competitive equilibrium.
So what is supposed to happen, under the latter regime, when competitive equilibrium and Nash
equilibrium don t coincide? This implies that at least one firm must sacrifice some profits to deter the
authority from investigating. It would be inefficient if all firms in the industry so sacrificed at all
times. For maximum industry profits, one firm at a time should price away from equilibrium and be
compensated by the others. Thus we have it that as a result of (badly theorized) competition policy
policy explicitly designed to deter collusion we get incentives to

Roles Of Women In The 1900 s
Women played a very distinct, yet changing role at the end of the 1800s. With that role they also
saturated the realm of art, almost completely eclipsing men. This dominance of the female figure in art
was partly the fault of the arguably chauvinistic attitude that the turn of the century male had in regard
to women. Women of the late 1800 s into the early 1900 s were an extension of the man s success and
station in so ciety. They were to be beautiful and helpless, completely reliant on the man. Their posi
tion was not allowed to undermine the males dominance in any way and everything reflected that
position, right down to the restrictive clothing that they were made to wear. Art Nouveau reflected
these social positions in an idealized and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Live Like You Were Dying Poem Analysis
Early October 2016 to January 2017, was the hardest time ever in my life. In October we found out
that my Grandpa had a very aggressive form of stage four brain cancer. We knew that there was
something wrong but we never thought it would be that bad. For the next month, the doctors ran tests,
decided on a game plan, and gave results. My grandpa was in severe pain and confusions. We got the
results that he would need to go through surgery on his brain to remove the tumor. This was around
November 15. That was probably the scariest day of my life. His surgery and I will never forget, was

The title of the song is the theme in itself, Live Like You Were Dying. Other quotes include, And a
moment came that stopped me on a dime , Someday I hope you get the chance to live like you were
dying , and Like tomorrow was a gift . These quotes really help us to understand the theme of living
like we are dying. There are also poetic devices found in the song that drives home the theme. First is
the imagery of the lyrics And a moment came that stopped me on a dime. This really means that this
event stopped him all of a sudden, or suddenly. Another part of the song that shows a pattern is the
ends of the first two lines when they use words like 40 and me, words that rhyme and are soft and then
when you get to the third line that says Stopped me on a dime , dime is a hard word and really wakes
you up . The rhymes, divin and climbin; deeper and sweeter; book and look, are words that show
action and love. Words that show you are doing something with your life. There is also a play on
words, I became a friend a friend would like to have. It means that he became a friend that someone
would like to have. These are just some of the poetic devices shown in the song Live Like You Were

Ebony Case Summary
The legal system has been proved ineffective in achieving justice in Ebony s case, where the
perpetrators of her death have been sentenced to inadequate time and in turn has undermined the
severity of the case. Government agencies have consistently failed to address pressing issues
pertaining to the family when help was clearly needed and have been incompetent in providing
assistance in countless instances, it is believed that Ebony s death could have been preventable if they
had intervened. Despite the ineffectiveness of the legal system in this case, her death served as a

The recommendations of the inquiry were directly aimed at the failings identified in Mr Barbour s
report. In March 2009, the NSW Government responded to the inquiry by releasing a plan of reform
for child protection. Keep them Safe, a five year plan designed by the government, contemplates
fundamental changes to the way in which child protection services are delivered in NSW. The
cornerstone of the changes is to make child protection a shared responsibility . All relevant
government agencies will have prescribed responsibilities for ensuring the wellbeing of children. In
line with this the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998 had been amended to
permit the exchange of information relating to the safety and welfare of a child. The expanded role of
a range of government agencies have the potential of making these agencies more responsive to the
needs of children at the local level, and of ensuring that more families receive timely and appropriate
support. In total, the inquiry has made 111 recommendations, ultimately forming the basis of a major
overhaul of the child protection system and has lead to a vastly changed child protection system in
NSW. Through the recognition of failures within Ebony s case, the legal system and government has
effectively amended, improved and introduced legislature and plans to ensure the protection and well

In order for a nurse to adapt and provide suitable care to their clients, they must understand the
characteristics of the area in which their clients are living. Factors such as employment rates, general
health of the population and age distribution can be a useful source of information for nurses. It gives
them a clearer idea of the kind of care that they should expect to be giving local people and the health
concerns that they may be dealing with. In this essay a small town in the Perth and Kinross area of

wellbeing of its residents. (114)

available in the town. (212)
Key information about Crieff
The average age of the inhabitants of Crieff is 40 for males and 44 for females. This is only every so
slightly higher than the Scottish average, which is 37 for males and 39 for females. Although the
majority of the population of the town are considered to be mature adults, according to the average
age, 20.17% of the residents of the town are under the age of 16, with 5.09% of that being children
under the age of 4. With many varying ages and types of accommodation, it is easy to make the
assumption that Crieff is a quiet, suitable and affordable town for the elderly, working couples and
families.
The general health of Crieff appears to be relatively good, sitting at just over 70% slightly higher than
the country s average (almost 68%.) As for the poorer health, 8.22% of the population of Crieff are
considered to be below average health. This differs slightly from the Scottish average, as it is almost
2% lower than the rest of the country which is a notable piece of information as there is a higher

The Development Of A Nation s Foreign Policy Strategy
The development of a nation s foreign policy strategy must be built with consideration of various
components. Since there is no established world leader , multiple spheres of power and influence
develop. One of the most inevitable factors affecting forging policy is location. The development of
influence based simply on geographic location has not gone unnoticed from nations participating in
global relations. In a consistently turbulent world, nations are constantly realizing their relevance on
the world stage. Nations will often realize this relevance and continue to develop it for their benefit
and political gain. The intersections of economic, social, political, and geographic connections result
in strategy being developed solely on the location of a nation. When it comes to the importance of
strategic location in relation to foreign policy, it is imperative that a nation implements strategic
location when developing their foreign policy approach. Strategic location can be described as either
the strategic acquisition of land based on potential political and economic significance or the
recognition of geographic significance for foreign policy on previously acquired territory. Strategic
location can be used as either a reactive or proactive tool to determine a countries foreign policy
tactic. The strategy that lies in location rests in factors such as the intersection of trade routes, sharing
of borders, and neighboring influence. These factors and many others

Consequences Of Rules In Candade By Dudley Randall s Candide
Rules are challenged all the time for many reasons. Rules should only be challenged at an appropriate
time like maybe when you don t agree with the rules and your against it. Sometimes challenging rules
can have good consequences and bad consequences. In the poem The Ballad of Birmingham written
by Dudley Randall and the story Candide written by Voltaire both have rules, but in one story the rules
were followed and the other rules were broken.
In the poem The Ballad of Birmingham A girls wants to go to a march but she is not allowed, instead
she is told to go to church she follows the rulers and she gets killed, says in the poem on lines 31 and
32 ¨O, here s the shoe my baby wore, But, baby, where are you. In the story Candide a boy does not
follow rules in a castle and gets kicked out of the castle states in the story on paragraph 8 ¨Baron
Thunder ten Tronckh passed near the screen and beholding this cause and effect caused Candide from
the castle with great kicks on the backside.¨
In the Poem ¨The Ballad of Birmingham¨ the rules were not to go to the march, But the rules were
changed, she thought thinks it s going to be dangerous No baby no you may not go for the dogs are
fierce and wild and clubs and hoses guns and jails aren t good for a little child. The character Baby
was told to go to the church instead of the march, states on lines 13 16 No, Baby, no, you may not go,
for i fear those guns will fire. But you may go to church instead and sing in the children s choir. Baby
followed her mother s orders. She has combed and brushed her night dark hair and bathed rose petal
sweet and drawn white gloves on her small brown hands and white shoes on her feet Baby was now
ready to go to church. The consequences she got for following the rules of going to church instead of
going to the march is that she was killed by an explosive says on lines 25 28 For when she heard the
explosion her eyes grew wet and wild she raced through the streets of Birmingham calling for her
child O, here s the shoe my baby wore, But, baby, where are you. The author s message is that maybe
if you challenge the rules sometimes good consequences could happen, so it might be appropriate to

Leadership And The New Science
Leadership vs Management Leadership and management are often referred to as the same thing.
However, researchers are starting to change the way leadership is seen. The very root of the word
leadership implies helping lead one on a journey, while management s root suggests submission. With
these pieces of information as lenses, it becomes easier to see the difference. In Margaret J. Wheatley
s book, Leadership and the New Science, she makes a simple statement: Management s task is to
enforce control, to keep information contained, to pass it down in such a way that no newness occurs
(Wheatley, 2006, p. 97). This, along with much more of her and others wisdom, emphasizes the
difference between leadership and management. Additionally, ... Show more content on

Management is positional. It is said that you can t choose your boss but you choose your leader.
Contrary to public belief, leaders aren t always those in power. In tandem, those in power aren t
always utilizing leadership. While researchers have usually focused on those in power, the studies
have failed to find the exact traits and behaviors needed for successful leaders. Therefore, leadership
cannot be taught. However, leadership can be learned. Leadership boils down to people. A leader has
followers. The leader motivates and empathizes based on what they know is important to an
individual. Changing people to the better to change things for the better is the essence of leadership:
walking the journey with the follower, instead of just giving directions (management).
While leadership seems to be the ideal, John Kotter says, If you have to choose between leadership or
management, choose management every time. Managers do. While this is true, it is most applicable to
measurable outcomes. When organizations are viewed as machines, management succeeds. The
Newtonian view of organizations indeed calls for management, as people are seen as things. This
works perfectly in theoretical practice. However, when introduced to reality, it begins to fall apart.
Even though people can be treated like things, it won t allow for creativity and growth. Managers
attempt motivation through competitions and pressure, which can lead to employees using their
creativity to refuse to

Why Did The Comanche Tribes Gain Their Power
The Comanche were one of the most powerful Indian tribes that America has ever seen. They stopped
the Spanish from expanding to the north and farther into America. However they weren t always that
way. S.W. Gwynne compared them to a young, bullied boy who grew into a strong, vengeful man.
There were quite a few different factors that made the Comanche evolve into this powerhouse in the
west. The Comanche were able to hold this power for some time, that is, until things took a turn for
the worse, and they were forced to surrender and their power was gone. Before exploring how the
Comanche gained their power, one must look into the history of the Comanche tribe. The word comes
from a Ute word meaning anyone who wants to fight me all the time. The Comanche were originally
part of the Shoshone group, but 10,000 members left after they were introduced to horses. They
moved to the Texas and Oklahoma region. They chose that land specifically for the buffalo population.
This land they settled in was called Comancheria. Part of that land included the Llano Estacado, a
plateau in Texas and New ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the most well known uses of the Comanche power is raiding. Over the time of their power,
there is an estimation of 20,000 captives taken by the Comanche tribes. The Comanche had a process
when it came to their raids. Adult males and newborns to the age of two would be killed. Children
from the age of three to ten would be taken as captives. Women would normally be raped and
sometimes killed. Once the Comanche realized they had low fertility rates, they started to take the
women as captives in order to raise their populations. The captives were also used as slaves to take
care of the livestock. The Comanche would do horrendous things to their captives and those they were
raiding. Examples are torture, gang rape, scalping,

The Between Heat And Energy
The term thermodynamics is known as the branch of physics that covers the relationship between heat
or temperature and all the forms of energy, including mechanical, electrical, or chemical.
Thermodynamics is a combination of four laws, which are known as zeroth law of thermodynamics,
first law of thermodynamics, second law of thermodynamics, and third law of thermodynamics.
According to Wolfram, The relation between heat and energy was important for the development of
steam engines, and in 1824 Sadi Carnot had captured some of the ideas of thermodynamics in his
discussion of the efficiency of an idealized engine (1019). After this statement was made, scientist
developed its laws. The term thermal equilibrium is when two bodies are at the same temperature.
Therefore, the zeroth law of thermodynamics states that if two bodies are in thermal equilibrium with
a third body, they are all in thermal equilibrium. In other words, they are all have the same
temperature. Joseph Black was one of the first scientist and physic known as founder of the zeroth law
of thermodynamics in the late 18th century.
The first law of thermodynamics states that heat energy can not be created or destroyed. It can be just
transformed into other forms or transferred into another location. Rudolf Clausius and William
Rankine were the first physics that made a full statement of the first law of thermodynamics in 1850.
It is also known as another version of the law of conservation of energy.

Ozymandias Figurative Language Essay
Poetry of any era furthers our understanding of the current world. This is because many of the issues
we once faced, we still face today. In this short essay I will compare and contrast figurative language
in two poems. The first of which will be Ozymandias by Percy Shelley written in 1818; and the
second of which, will be Ode to a Nightingale by John Keats written a year later in 1819. Ode to a
Nightingale explores the themes of mortality and impermanence. In Shelley s work, Ozymandias
examines the themes of power and mortality. The first thing I have noticed is that both have a strong
focus ancient civilizations and a distinct focal point on the ancient Greeks and Romans.
In Greek myth, a young woman named Philomela, whose tongue was cut out by her rapist to prevent
her from telling anyone about her molestation; was turned into a ... Show more content on

He alludes to the Lethe, the Greek underworld river of immortality in his first stanza. I believe the
speaker says this because he believes the wine speaks about has mystical powers that will allow him to
live forever. He does not mean this literally of course, but instead it will bring him into the care free
state of the nightingale. Through its imagery, the speakers want (need?) is conveyed for a drug/drink
induced state. It seems as though the speaker wants this so that he can feel some sort of connection
with the Nightingale and nature. The speaker s mood changes and in the fourth stanza he does not
want to turn back to drinking and instead wants to fly on the, wings of poesy (33). Meaning that he
has found his salvation in poetry rather than drink. The speaker s awareness of the real world pulls
him back from his fantasy world of drink joy. He understands that he cannot become the nightingale
as the human world is not withdrawable and mortality is inescapable. At the same time the poem
Ozymandias also uses imagery to convey its

Accounts Receivable Office Products Depot
The interview with Colin Smith, from Office Products Depot, meant I was able to identify the
accounts receivable subsystem they used and their accounts receivable management. I focussed on
their policies for the offering and checking of credit, managing credit levels, charging the credit
customers, receiving payment from credit customers and the general management of credit customers.
I will be using the information from the interview with Colin as well as information from fictitious
accounts receivable to explain their policies.

Credit limits are set to manage the spending of their customers, this way Office Products Depot can
ensure that customers aren t purchasing too many goods. This means that if the customer is unable to
pay their account Office Products Depot loses say $2000 (a company s credit limit) rather than
$10000. To set these credit limits, Office Products Depot estimates the amount of money they estimate
the customer will spend over a two month period. This number is then rounded to the nearest $500 to
make recording credit limits easier. Customer payment of money owed is managed by the same
salesperson that the customer first dealt with, as they receive commission based on money received by
their particular customers. The salesperson is often in direct contact with the customer to make sure
the credit is being paid off. However, sometimes the credit limit of a particular customer can be
increased, if they have paid well in the past. An example of this is Jones Stationery, who is $300 over
their credit limit. When Office Products Depot sends invoices to their customers, they send a separate
tax invoice for each provided service. This makes the customer more aware of the each individual
charge. Monthly statements are also sent out aswell. Refunds and reductions are also given
occasionally to customers, to maintain a good relationship, and fix incorrectly recorded charges. An

Factors That Affect India Automotive Supply Chain Essay
Introduction
In the year 2000, automotive industry was going through a major transition globally. This transition in
terms of consolidation of networks, had forced automotive part suppliers to change their working style
and adopting to new changes made by automotive industry worldwide. In the long run this changes
can be handle but short term volatility is creating an environment of uncertainty.
Due to this transition, the Indian automotive industry was experiencing an interesting evolutionary
phase. India being seen as crucial market of the future by global OEMs.
The automotive supply chain needs to play a big role in this transition. Supply chain can help
companies to get competitive advantage, which means going beyond meeting basic standards of
performance such as connecting supply to demand at optimal costs.
Following are the issues that can affect India automotive supply chain:
The main concern will be to build a supply chain that can handle long term growth but it is strong,
flexible and reactive enough to handle short term variable.
In India logistic cost is high as compare to another countries. There are two reason behind higher cost
firstly, high inflation rate and secondly, inefficiency in labour market. To get competitive advantage
companies need to reduce cost for higher margin.
Shortage of talent for key rules, especially higher position in the organization.
Outdated technology.

The Weaknesses Of Canada s Refugee System
The various branches of law provide citizens with structure as a technique to avoid chaos and move
forward as a nation. However, a structure exclusive of flaws is impossible to achieve. This being so,
law has weaknesses and these weaknesses can prevent a being from making adequate judgments. In
particular, Canada s refugee system is flawed as unjust deportations are taking place. Refugees escape
their hometown to depart persecution of some sort and commence their lives in safer countries ( How
Canada s Refugee System Works 2016, par. 1). The Refugee system in Canada follows a particular set
of guidelines regarding how to qualify, apply, and stay in the country. With numerous protection
programs, the institute is immense as ruthless decisions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The lives of refugees would be complicated as they will live in the shadows and hide for their whole
lives. For this reason, they might as well be sent back to their home countries to face their problems.
Not to mention, if Canada did not have a strict refugee system, it is more likely that there would be an
increase of dangerous being. Chances cannot be taken, and Canada stay protected. These are fair
arguments however; they do not take in consideration the horrors that refugees may be facing within
home countries. Surely enough, problems can be faced however these problems can be murderous.
Likewise, it is without doubt that Canada s refugee system is strict, seeing that, innocuous refugees
should be hidden. It could be a family member or a friend that is trusted. In like manner, the refugee
system can remain strict, although more consideration must be taken to avoid deportation of refugees
who impose no risk to the

How Does Nwoye Determine One s Identity In Things Fall Apart
Can one benefit from the tearing apart of a culture? There are always those who benefit in the midst of
negativity. The Ibo community is torn apart by the Westerners, dividing families and beliefs. Nwoye, a
character in Chinua Achebe s Things Fall Apart, embraces the European culture, and his cultural
identity changes, which conveys that one s original culture does not determine one s identity.
To begin, Nwoye reacts to western ideas by embracing European culture. Nwoye begins to accept the
idea of Christianity and considers joining their community. The narrator explains, He went back to the
church and told Mr.Kiaga that he had decided to go to Umuofia where the white missionary had set up
a school to teach young Christians to read and write (Achebe 152). Nwoye s decision shows his
acceptance of European culture through assimilation. Furthermore, Nwoye willing departs from his
family, rejecting his old culture to embrace a new one. The abuse from Okonkwo drives Nowye away
from his old culture. The narrator explains, But he was happy to leave his father (Achebe 152). Nwoye

Salomon V Salomon And Co Ltd
Salomon v Salomon and Co Ltd (1897)
When was law firstly introduced? Laws where present for decades as people where punished for
breaking the laws. In regard to our case, which was in 1897. The case was between Salomon v
Salomon and Co Ltd, which is a person and a company he owned. He filled a case against his
company that the company owes him money and then the creditors of the company reverted the case
on him as being the owner he should be liable to pay them back as the company went to liquidation.
Facts of the case
An entrepreneur called Aron Salomon started a company that produces boots and other leather
products. His children wanted to become partners with their father so Salomon started a new company

He was paid 5,000 for his debentures. The money came from the sales of assets
Salomon claimed that the amount from the assets sold and bank balance was his, as he also owned
debentures in the company worth 9,000, which made the company liable to pay him back the
remaining amount. After this action the creditors of the company were afraid that the company would
not pay them back. The creditors resisted Salomon s action to claim the rest of the money by filling a
lawsuit against him that the balance of money available is owed to them rather than him as he is
considered the owner of the company and should be accounted for the liquidation and pay them back
from his own money if the balance from the company was not enough.
Rule of the Court
High Court
The case between Broderip v Salomon where Broderip sued Salomon to pay back the amount
Broderip owed the company, was first assigned to the high court with the judge Vaughan. We know
from the facts of the case that Broderip was paid 5,000. The court considered that the company is an
agent by which it was held by Salomon so the first court ruled that Salomon and Co Ltd are
considered as the same person but with different names so Salomon was held liable to pay the
creditors or in this case Broderip back his debenture amounts. Judge Vaughen ruled to Broderip
against Salomon and held Salomon liable to pay back the debenture amount remaining to Broderip.

themes that drove President Clinton to success. First in His Class: A Biography of Bill Clinton shows
Clinton s initiative and leadership in his formative years.
Maraniss started his career in journalism as a high schooler in Madison, Wisconsin. During these
years, he reported about antiwar protests concerning Vietnam and also local high school football.
Maraniss landed a job at The Washington Post in 1977, where he has remained since. The three time
Pulitzer Prize finalist won a Pulitzer Prize for his coverage of Clinton as a candidate. His already
familiarity with the subject of the biography was demonstrated in Maraniss extensive detail into
Clinton s early years. Due to Maraniss usually short writing style for The Washington Post, his long
and verbose descriptions sometimes become awkward. Nevertheless, the biography unleashes great
details especially in Clinton s formative years where he is heavily influenced by the war in Vietnam
and his mentor, Senator J. William Fulbright.

Mobile Technology Essay
Abstract The increase in popularity for wearable technologies has opened the door for an Internet of

What is the use of a big heap of data if you can t get some knowledge out of it? and writing codes
which get some knowledge out of such big heaps of distinct data is nearly impossible. So, now comes
the question of how to deal with such data complexity monsters?. Well, the answer is quite simple
Machine learning . It is hear to rescue us from the data complexity monsters.
What is machine learning?
Machine learning is a type of artificial intelligence (AI) that provides computers with the ability to
learn without being explicitly programmed. You may not know it, but machine learning is all around
you. When you type a query into a search engine, its how the engine figures out which results to show
you (and which ads, as well). When you read your email, you dont see most of the spam, because
machine learning filtered it out. Go to Amazon.com to buy a book or Netflix to watch a video, and a
machine learning system helpfully recommends some you might like. Facebook uses machine learning
to decide which updates to show you, and Twitter does the same for tweets. Whenever you use a
computer, chances are machine learning is involved somewhere.
Machine learning along with IoT can help us solve really big problems which mankind is currently
facing. One such problem I want to address and provide a solution to is predict and monitor heart
attacks.

The Spread Of Christianity Analysis

As one of the largest religions in the world, Christianity played a prominent role in shaping western
civilization in the late Roman and early medieval periods. It is generally known that the development
of any religion is not smooth or through a single channel. Based on the case of Christianity, from its
establishment in the mid first century until the early fourth century, it was persecuted for three
hundred years. Despite this, the conversion eventually happened at different times in different regions
of Europe. In 313, the so called Edict of Milan was issued to mark when Constantine (306 337), the

Chicago Personal Statement
The University of Chicago would be the ideal university to explore my interests. Chicago is one of the
most resilient cities in the country, which causes the members of its community to be as strong. One of
my favorite stories is about the rebuild after the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. After a two day
conflagration the city was decimated, but instead of being defeated, they took the destruction as an
opportunity to rebuild. Chicago was revitalized into an improved city. The University of Chicago s

Advantages Of Being A Group Member
When it comes to team work, there are only two working positions to choose whether to be group
member or to be a team leader. Some people are content with their subordinate position while others
would like to strive for a leading position in a team. Less responsibility and more freedom can result
in the choice of being a group member. From my perspective, however, the advantages of being a
leader outweigh the advantages of being a group member because a leader not only has the strongest
voice in the team but also have more access to all kinds of resources and can gain more respect and
admiration.
First of all, a leader holds a dominant position and have the strongest voice on decision. As a group
member, he is free to express his point of view and raise any objections. However, as a leader, the core

Clabsi And Clabse Infection
Background or Introduction CLABSI is the acronym for central line associated blood stream infection.
CLABSI are the third leading cause of hospital acquired infection (HAI). Central line associated
infections are life threatening and is a common risk factor associated with central venous catheters
(CVC). Peripherally inserted central catheters are a common type of CVC used. Research is conducted
to determine whether there is a benefit to reducing CLABSI with use of PICC lines that are coated
with antimicrobials. This research compares the impact of chlorhexidine impregnated verses non

groups were assigned to group A, for CHG PICC or B, non CHG PICC. Insertion of all PICC lines
was completed by the PICC insertion team. CDC guidelines were used to diagnose CLABSI with
VTE diagnosis based upon assessment and diagnostic testing. Data Analysis In this study, 167
participants completed the study. The groups were divided into 80 randomized that received PICC

Essay On Dichloropropene
Dichloropropene Use on California s Strawberry Fields
California is rich in history. The Golden State was a destination for gold seekers and is still the
launching pad for many entrepreneurs. Californians have a special culture for innovation. It is no
wonder that Californians are dreamers, go getters adventurous people. The first gold rushers must
have been incredibly ambitious, albeit loco, to cross the entire stretch of North America via covered
wagon.
It is this spirit of innovation, endless work, and demand for nonstop business that has driven
strawberry farmers to depend on the organochlorine that is dichloropropene. An organochlorine is
manufactured from chlorinated hydrocarbons, or simply put, its three essential ingredients are
chlorine, carbon and hydrogen (Friis, 2016). While the use of dichloropropene has undoubtedly

these studies on animals because humans and animals might metabolize chemicals differently.
However, the adverse effects on the animals are so severe that it cannot be denied that the pesticide is

  • 2. Amreeka Movie Essay Amreeka, filmed in 2009 and directed by Cherien Dabis, is the story of a Palestinian single mother and her teenage son s immigration to America. Muna (Nisreen Faour) and her son Fadi (Melkar Muellan) migrate to America from their home in Palestine, a territory in Israel, to stay with family. In America, they face the struggles of cultural barriers and the stereotypes associated with Middle Eastern heritage especially in the times after 9/11, an alleged terrorist attack on U.S. soil blamed on Muslim extremists from the Middle East. In Palestine, they are ID d and subjected to discrimination every time they want to cross over to a neighboring town. Palestinians are not given many freedoms in their country of Israel because the government and government authorities go to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The bully made a joke the first day of class that Fadi secretly builds bombs, and the bully wrote on Fadi s cousin Selma s (Alia Shawkat) car the misspelled name Al Kada, which is the terrorist group responsible for 9/11. Principal Novatski assures Muna during the car ride that the kids do not know any different, and when they hear about one Muslim extremists then all Muslims are extremists. Muna is saddened by this not only because it is not true that all followers of the Muslim religion perform such atrocities but that she herself is not even a Muslim. The principal is instantly taken aback at the falseness of his claim which he thought to be true, but then adds that he, too, is a polish American so he can relate to the stereotypes set in place for people of different origins and demographic ... It was difficult since he is not very verbal and also task takes him a long time to perform. I observed two behaviors performed by Paul within the twenty minutes. What I believe happen first was Paul observed himself in the compact mirror from 12:45 12:46pm because he wanted to look for an allergic reaction. When Paul took out his compact mirror to observe his face it showed he understood something must have happen when he ate certain food. However, since he is not fully verbal he performs the routine of observing his face for an allergic reaction like reddening of the skin, small bumps and swollen. Even though, he did not verbalize it. • 4. Representative Peter DeFazio s Party Unity Score Discussion In 2013, Rep. Peter DeFazio s (D, OR 4) party unity score was 94% (Weyl, 183). Party unity as defined in the textbook, Congress and Its Members, are votes in which the majority of voting Republicans oppose a majority of voting Democrats. In other words, average votes Peter DeFazio casted with the Democratic majority against the Republican majority. Furthermore, party affiliation as well as ideological positions, and the constituency pressure are strongly correlated with congressmen s voting decisions (Davidson, Oleskek, Lee 2014, 255). The roll call vote that I chose to calculate the party unity score of Rep. DeFazio was the roll call vote named Disaster Supplement Fish and Wildlife Construction. This roll call concerned a bill named Super Storm Sandy Disaster Aid. The purpose of the roll call was to determine if hinder funding for the Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) to repair seawalls and buildings on wildlife refuges that are damaged by a natural disaster. The reduction of funds to the FWS by $9.8 million was another main point of the roll call vote. This roll call voting would determine how much funding would be provided to FWS to help the communities affect by Hurricane Sandy as well as other damaged wildlife refuges across the nation. In this issue, Rep, DeFazio voted nay along with 189 Democrats. However, the outcome of the voting was 216 to 205 in favor of the Republican Party (CQ Weekly, 2013). A particular factor that influenced Rep. DeFazio voting nay on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Water and Fire Compare and Contrast Water and Fire Water and fire, two very different elements. But, What really makes these two elements different? Fire burns. It is used to hurt and to kill, but it can also be used for heat and for light. Water soothes. It is used to revive people who are sick and to help to cool off in a hot summer day, but it can it be used for torture and to drown living things. In spite of all of their differences they do have three things in common Oxygen, they both kill, and they are both necessary for survival. Fire, it was discovered by the ancient caveman and has been used for many things including heat. The cavemen realized ,when they discovered fire, that it gave off heat and that it could be used on the coldest of nights to stay warm. It ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They both need Oxygen, they can kill, and they are both necessary for survival. They both need Oxygen to exist. Fire needs three things to exist; a fuel source, heat, and oxygen. Without Oxygen your fire wouldn t exist it would just be a pile of sticks. Water also needs Oxygen. The O in H₂O is Oxygen and without it water would just be 2 molecules of Hydrogen. Their main goal is to help the world s poorest and sickest communities which are why they are on a mission to transform global health, one patient at a time. Whether it is Rwanda or Zimbabwe, Partners in Health travel to help out the countries that are most in need by delivering food or administering vaccinations. They care for patients in their homes and communities. Partners in Health aid these countries in numerous ways through priority programs; a couple priority programs include Ebola, mental health, child health, and cholera. Since they are an NGO, they rely heavily on donations from people around the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Coming up with development strategies can be difficult because it is not a one shoe fits all concept. Many different countries and organizations have their own development plans that specifically fit their needs, for example; in class we learned that Africa as well as Europe and North America and Asia have their own development plans special to their wishes and desires. For Partners in Health, I would focus on donations and getting the organization more widely popular. This organization already has well known sponsors such as the American Cancer Society and the Ronald McDonald House so I would reach out to more businesses and encourage them to donate. There are a variety of development strategies but there is only about one or two that would be useful for Partners in Health. One development strategy that would not work would be the import substitution industrialization strategy because it is a trade and economic policy which advocates replacing foreign imports with domestic production. It is based on the premise that a country should attempt to reduce its foreign dependency through the local production of industrialized ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Franklin s Virtue Analysis The art of virtue is a distinct method employed by Franklin. The method features thirteen different aspects: Temperance, Silence, Order, Resolution, Frugality, Industry, Sincerity, Justice, Moderation, Cleanliness, Tranquility, Chastity, and Humility . Franklin believed that it was essential and advantageous for one to follow this instruction of method, not only to be happy, but to attain clarity, morality, and virtue. Franklin s first act of virtue, temperance, necessitated self control of eating and drinking Eat not to Dulnesss / Drink not to Elevation (987). Franklin s second virtue, silence, dictated not to involve yourself in useless discussion, as he illuminates Speak not but what may benefit others or yourself (987). Franklin s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The art of virtue is not precisely religious, it has more to do with the personal self, most importantly self reliance. Whereas, in Puritan values one must always rely first on God and his true and devout ways. On the topic of religion, in the art of virtue, Franklin himself wrote that he purposely avoided them for being fully persuaded of the Utility and Excellency of my Method, and that it might be serviceable to People in all Religions (992). In the discernments of Puritan s, Franklin leaving out any religion in his art of virtue would have been deeply looked down upon, since in their eyes there is only one true religion and all must follow it. Franklin s art of virtue was meant for any and all ideals, as long as one was looking for morality. Everything in a Puritan s life is done for God and the ideal that by following his instructions they will wind up in that well deserved place called heaven. The art of virtue focuses on the ideal of the moral self, and what that entails for one s personal virtue, how these virtues will help them throughout the life they are living, and is not worried about Gods judgement or where that might lead them in the ... Asthma Treatment Asthma Treatment Asthma is best described as a chronic inflammation the pulmonary lower airways because of hyperresponsiveness of lower airway obstructions that is usually reversible (Fireman, 2003). Asthma is triggered by cold air, exercise, viral upper respiratory infections, cigarette smoking, and respiratory allergens. One in 12 people in the United States has been diagnosed with asthma which is approximately 25 million people which accounts for 8% of the total population (AAAAI, 2016). It is estimated that the average cost for care of asthma in the United States is about $3,300.00 yearly in related medical expenses, missed school, missed worked days and early death (AAAAI, 2016). An effective asthma plan should include: knowing the triggers of the patient s asthma attacks, taking the prescribed medication to control asthma and being able to recognize the early signs of an asthma attack (AAFA, 2015). Being able to understand and identify triggers reduces the use and need for medication and prevents asthma attacks from occurring. Educating patients on the regular use of prescribed medication and the importance of compliance is a key factor in asthma management. Prescribing patient with meter dose inhaler is a beneficial option in the management of an acute asthma attack for patients. • 9. Ge Case Analysis , Case #1: the turbine generator industry The default prediction that we d make using economic theory (or common sense) in the absence of game theory is that, in the turbine generator case, General Electric should have undercut Westinghouse because the former has lower costs. But we start to see why it didn t when we introduce capacity constraints into the Bertrand model. Capacity constraints can stem from two things: decreasing returns to scale, or demand uncertainties that create expected inventory cost risks and induce firms to produce to order and carry backlogs. The second condition certainly prevails in the turbine generator case. Anti trust regulators observed that both GE and Westinghouse were pricing higher than ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Empirical data suggests successful signaling between the firms in the Cournot aspect of their game also. Attempts by government to discourage tacit collusion in industries like this one are worse than silly. They harm businesses and consumers, bring in no extra public revenue, and may actually create monopolies instead of discouraging them! Such perverse competition policies are nevertheless in place in both the European Union and South Africa. In the United States, firms can be investigated for collusion by the anti trust authority only if there is physical evidence of communication about pricing strategies between competing firms. In the EU and SA, by contrast, competition authorities can investigate merely because they observe that industry prices aren t at competitive equilibrium. So what is supposed to happen, under the latter regime, when competitive equilibrium and Nash equilibrium don t coincide? This implies that at least one firm must sacrifice some profits to deter the authority from investigating. It would be inefficient if all firms in the industry so sacrificed at all times. This dominance of the female figure in art was partly the fault of the arguably chauvinistic attitude that the turn of the century male had in regard to women. Women of the late 1800 s into the early 1900 s were an extension of the man s success and station in so ciety. They were to be beautiful and helpless, completely reliant on the man. In October we found out that my Grandpa had a very aggressive form of stage four brain cancer. We knew that there was something wrong but we never thought it would be that bad. For the next month, the doctors ran tests, decided on a game plan, and gave results. My grandpa was in severe pain and confusions. We got the results that he would need to go through surgery on his brain to remove the tumor. This was around November 15. That was probably the scariest day of my life. First is the imagery of the lyrics And a moment came that stopped me on a dime. This really means that this event stopped him all of a sudden, or suddenly. Another part of the song that shows a pattern is the ends of the first two lines when they use words like 40 and me, words that rhyme and are soft and then when you get to the third line that says Stopped me on a dime , dime is a hard word and really wakes you up . The rhymes, divin and climbin; deeper and sweeter; book and look, are words that show action and love. Words that show you are doing something with your life. Since there is no established world leader , multiple spheres of power and influence develop. One of the most inevitable factors affecting forging policy is location. The development of influence based simply on geographic location has not gone unnoticed from nations participating in global relations. In a consistently turbulent world, nations are constantly realizing their relevance on the world stage. Nations will often realize this relevance and continue to develop it for their benefit and political gain. The intersections of economic, social, political, and geographic connections result in strategy being developed solely on the location of a nation. When it comes to the importance of strategic location in relation to foreign policy, it is imperative that a nation implements strategic location when developing their foreign policy approach. Strategic location can be described as either the strategic acquisition of land based on potential political and economic significance or the recognition of geographic significance for foreign policy on previously acquired territory. However, researchers are starting to change the way leadership is seen. The very root of the word leadership implies helping lead one on a journey, while management s root suggests submission. With these pieces of information as lenses, it becomes easier to see the difference. In Margaret J. Wheatley s book, Leadership and the New Science, she makes a simple statement: Management s task is to enforce control, to keep information contained, to pass it down in such a way that no newness occurs (Wheatley, 2006, p. 97). It is said that you can t choose your boss but you choose your leader. Contrary to public belief, leaders aren t always those in power. In tandem, those in power aren t always utilizing leadership. While researchers have usually focused on those in power, the studies have failed to find the exact traits and behaviors needed for successful leaders. Therefore, leadership cannot be taught. However, leadership can be learned. Leadership boils down to people. A leader has followers. The leader motivates and empathizes based on what they know is important to an individual. Changing people to the better to change things for the better is the essence of leadership: walking the journey with the follower, instead of just giving directions (management). While leadership seems to be the ideal, John Kotter says, If you have to choose between leadership or management, choose management every time. Managers do. While this is true, it is most applicable to measurable outcomes. When organizations are viewed as machines, management succeeds. The Newtonian view of organizations indeed calls for management, as people are seen as things. This works perfectly in theoretical practice. The Between Heat And Energy The term thermodynamics is known as the branch of physics that covers the relationship between heat or temperature and all the forms of energy, including mechanical, electrical, or chemical. Thermodynamics is a combination of four laws, which are known as zeroth law of thermodynamics, first law of thermodynamics, second law of thermodynamics, and third law of thermodynamics. According to Wolfram, The relation between heat and energy was important for the development of steam engines, and in 1824 Sadi Carnot had captured some of the ideas of thermodynamics in his discussion of the efficiency of an idealized engine (1019). After this statement was made, scientist developed its laws. The term thermal equilibrium is when two bodies are at the same temperature. Therefore, the zeroth law of thermodynamics states that if two bodies are in thermal equilibrium with a third body, they are all in thermal equilibrium. First in His Class: A Biography of Bill Clinton shows Clinton s initiative and leadership in his formative years. Maraniss started his career in journalism as a high schooler in Madison, Wisconsin. During these years, he reported about antiwar protests concerning Vietnam and also local high school football. Maraniss landed a job at The Washington Post in 1977, where he has remained since. The three time Pulitzer Prize finalist won a Pulitzer Prize for his coverage of Clinton as a candidate. His already familiarity with the subject of the biography was demonstrated in Maraniss extensive detail into Clinton s early years. Due to Maraniss usually short writing style for The Washington Post, his long and verbose descriptions sometimes become awkward. Nevertheless, the biography unleashes great details especially in Clinton s formative years where he is heavily influenced by the war in Vietnam and his mentor, Senator J. William Fulbright. Leadership Drive Work Under Fulbright Clinton was inspired by Senator Fulbright since his first introduction as a young adult. The long time Senate Foreign Relations chairman was his role model. Fulbright was a well spoken statesman and Rhodes Scholar. He altered the perception of the horrible stereotypes of an unsophisticated Arkansas. As LBJ and Fulbright grew apart over an ... One of the most prevalent healthcare problems today is the poor survival rate of out of hospital sudden cardiac arrests. The objective of this paper is to present a noval way of solving such a big problem by using Mobile IoT devices, Cloud computing technology and Machine learning. Mobile IoT that can collect physical activity such as heart rates and body temperature and store the data on a cloud. Machine learning algorithm uses this heap of data and predicts and detects heart attack. What is the use of a big heap of data if you can t get some knowledge out of it? and writing codes which get some knowledge out of such big heaps of distinct data is nearly impossible. So, now comes the question of how to deal with such data complexity monsters?. Well, the answer is quite simple Machine learning . It is hear to rescue us from the data complexity monsters. What is machine learning? Machine learning is a type of artificial intelligence (AI) that provides computers with the ability to learn without being explicitly programmed. You may not know it, but machine learning is all around you. When you type a query into a search engine, its how the engine figures out which results to show you (and which ads, as well). When you read your email, you dont see most of the spam, because machine learning filtered it out. Go to Amazon.com to buy a book or Netflix to watch a video, and a machine learning system helpfully recommends some you might like. Facebook uses machine learning to decide which updates to show you, and Twitter does the same for tweets. Whenever you use a computer, chances are machine learning is involved somewhere. Machine learning along with IoT can help us solve really big problems which mankind is currently facing. One such problem I want to address and provide a solution to is predict and monitor heart attacks. The healthcare represents one of the top ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Spread Of Christianity Analysis Introduction As one of the largest religions in the world, Christianity played a prominent role in shaping western civilization in the late Roman and early medieval periods. It is generally known that the development of any religion is not smooth or through a single channel. Based on the case of Christianity, from its establishment in the mid first century until the early fourth century, it was persecuted for three hundred years. Despite this, the conversion eventually happened at different times in different regions of Europe. In 313, the so called Edict of Milan was issued to mark when Constantine (306 337), the emperor of the Western Roman Empire, recognized Christianity s legitimacy and then in 392, Theodosius I (379 95) officially determined ... The usage of the charred wooden coffin is unique in Pictish cemetery excavations, however, there are some other such cases of the internment with wooden coffins at West Heslerton, Northumbria and Whithorn, Galloway in the early medieval period. For example, at Whithorn, the log coffin burials are part of a larger cemetery associated with a shrine and it is considered to have a high status ecclesiastic character (Hill, 1997). Besides of the wooden case, the burial rite also involves placing stones centrally on top of the coffin lid perhaps to keep the spirit in the afterlife. (Campell Gondek, 2009). • 33. Chicago Personal Statement The University of Chicago would be the ideal university to explore my interests. Chicago is one of the most resilient cities in the country, which causes the members of its community to be as strong. One of my favorite stories is about the rebuild after the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. After a two day conflagration the city was decimated, but instead of being defeated, they took the destruction as an opportunity to rebuild. Chicago was revitalized into an improved city. The University of Chicago s mascot, Phil the Phoenix, perfectly represents the endurance of the city, which is a legacy I want to be part of and contribute to. I intend to major in physics and a minor in computer science. The University of Chicago is renowned for it s physics programs. The various labs at the school teaches many branches of physics from astrophysics to nuclear physics. By dedicating four years of learning here, I hope to decide on which branch of physics I will dedicate my life to. I am especially passionate about particle physics, to think everything is made out of atoms and those atoms are made up of elementary particles is fascinating. I not only hope to learn from the professors and the laboratories, but to work with them to understand elementary particles. Some people are content with their subordinate position while others would like to strive for a leading position in a team. Less responsibility and more freedom can result in the choice of being a group member. From my perspective, however, the advantages of being a leader outweigh the advantages of being a group member because a leader not only has the strongest voice in the team but also have more access to all kinds of resources and can gain more respect and admiration. First of all, a leader holds a dominant position and have the strongest voice on decision. As a group member, he is free to express his point of view and raise any objections. However, as a leader, the core of the team, not only does he feel free to express his opinion, but also he is authorized to make the final decision based on the ideas of the group members. The first body paragraph indicates that a leader has the right to make an important decision by comparing different positions that a leader and a group member take. Also, that Steve Jobs made a decisive decision to equip new iPhone with a touchscreen is given as an example to enrich my content. The second part analyzes how someone benefits from being a leader from many aspects, such as the ability to weigh, better skills to communicate and the access to fortune. • 35. Clabsi And Clabse Infection Background or Introduction CLABSI is the acronym for central line associated blood stream infection. CLABSI are the third leading cause of hospital acquired infection (HAI). Central line associated infections are life threatening and is a common risk factor associated with central venous catheters (CVC). Peripherally inserted central catheters are a common type of CVC used. Research is conducted to determine whether there is a benefit to reducing CLABSI with use of PICC lines that are coated with antimicrobials. This research compares the impact of chlorhexidine impregnated verses non chlorhexidine PICC with the risk of CLABSI and VTE development in patients that are immune suppressed, critical care or trauma patients. Review of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The randomization was conducted by a third party responsible for mixing and selecting subjects for each unit. Daily assessment of the PICC dressing was completed by a study investigator. The selected groups were assigned to group A, for CHG PICC or B, non CHG PICC. Insertion of all PICC lines was completed by the PICC insertion team. CDC guidelines were used to diagnose CLABSI with VTE diagnosis based upon assessment and diagnostic testing. Data Analysis In this study, 167 participants completed the study. The groups were divided into 80 randomized that received PICC with HCG as the experimental group and 87 randomized that received PICC without HCG as the control group. An a priori sample size calculation validation using CLABSI infection site from the three types of patients was used with 30 experimental and 30 controls. The sample was described using descriptive statistics. The Shapiro Wilk test was used to check for normalcy. To assess for differences in patient age and duration of PICC line placement the Whitney U test was used. The Fisher exact test was used to assess for significant differences in post insertion bleeding rate and to assess for associations between the groups regarding CLASBI, VTE and post insertion bleeding. Use of the CDC definition of CLABSI as well as utilization of for verification by the infection specialist maintained the validity of this study. VTE determination was monitored and ... • 36. Essay On Dichloropropene Dichloropropene Use on California s Strawberry Fields California is rich in history. The Golden State was a destination for gold seekers and is still the launching pad for many entrepreneurs. Californians have a special culture for innovation. It is no wonder that Californians are dreamers, go getters adventurous people. The first gold rushers must have been incredibly ambitious, albeit loco, to cross the entire stretch of North America via covered wagon. It is this spirit of innovation, endless work, and demand for nonstop business that has driven strawberry farmers to depend on the organochlorine that is dichloropropene. An organochlorine is manufactured from chlorinated hydrocarbons, or simply put, its three essential ingredients are chlorine, carbon and hydrogen (Friis, 2016). While the use of dichloropropene has undoubtedly boosted growth of fields and bank accounts, it is known to do exponential harm. This is called bioaccumulation (Friis, 2016). The results of the test confirm that application to skin will result in cancer, and that swallowing and inhalation is highly poisonous (EPA, 1986). Further studies done with animals proved that exposure to dichloropropene led to cancers affecting all organs of urinary, digestive and respiratory systems (EPA, 1986). Some people might discount the findings of these studies on animals because humans and animals might metabolize chemicals differently. However, the adverse effects on the animals are so severe that it cannot be denied that the pesticide is poisonous. The EPA reported in 1986 that workers (those who would apply the pesticide in the fields) may be exposed to dichloropropene in the range of 0.15 to 23.99 mg/year (EPA, ...
