The document discusses the human person as an embodied spirit with limitations. It explains that human existence is embodied, and consciousness and embodiment are necessary for subjectivity, emotion, language, thought, and social interaction. It outlines three main limitations of humans as embodied spirits: 1) facticity, which refers to the unchangeable aspects of one's life and circumstances; 2) being spatial-temporal beings with limitations of time and an inability to be in two places at once; and 3) the body acting as an intermediary between our minds and the world in a limiting way.

So, para mas ma-gets mo, sa wikang Ingles, tinatawag itong “minutes of meeting”.
As an embodied subject, the human person has inherent limitations: he has facticity, he is a spatial-temporal being, and his body is intermediary. The presence of inherent limitations imposed by being an embodied subject may make us think that our life is very restricting. However, it is also these limitations that make our lives more interesting and challenging because these offer us the possibility of overcoming or transcending them.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
The Human Person as an Embodied Spirit: Limitations and Transcendence
1.
2. The Human Person
as an Embodied Spirit
Human existence is embodied existence.
Many things related to our existence as persons are
related to bodies – age, sex, race, relationships, etc.
3. Consciousness
is the state or quality of awareness, or, of being
aware of an external object or something within
oneself.
4.
5. EMBODIMENT
refers to the biological and physical presence of our
bodies, which are a necessary precondition for
subjectivity, emotion, language, thought and social
interaction
6.
7.
8.
9. Limitations of the Human Person
as an Embodied Spirit
1. Facticity
2. Spatial-Temporal Being
3. The Body as Intermediary
12. 1. Facticity
Refers to the things in our life that are already given
Refers to all the details that surround us in the
present: our environment, our language, our past
decisions, our past and present relationships, and
even our future death.
13. 2. Spatial-temporal Being
As temporal beings, our most obvious limitation is our
finitude – our finite quality or state.
14.
15. 2. Spatial-temporal Being
As spatial beings, we are limited by our bodies to be
present in two or more places at the same time.
16.
17.
18.
19. 2. Spatial-temporal Being
We are limited by space (spatial) and time
(temporal).
Our spatial-temporal situation sets our preconditions
of understanding.
20.
21. 3. The Body as Intermediary
Intermediary means acting as a mediator (Merriam-
Webster).
22. 3. The Body as Intermediary
Intermediary means acting as a mediator (Merriam-
Webster).
Our body serves as an intermediary between us and
the physical world.
23. 3. The Body as Intermediary
Intermediary means acting as a mediator (Merriam-
Webster).
Our body serves as an intermediary between us and
the physical world.
Our body limits our experience of the world to our
world.
24. 3. The Body as Intermediary
This imposes limitations concerning communication
and expression.
