The Political and Social Changes in Western Europe Essay
Western European people had endured a series of changes during the late medieval period.
Changes can be categorized into two aspects: politically and socially. On politics, Popes were not
as strong as they were due to conflicts between the state and the church. Socially, people began to
live a religion dominated life, and experienced active sexism towards women. These changes,
either positive or negative, have become an undivided part of European History. People faced the
rise and the fall of the Catholic Churchduring the medieval time. The Popesused to hold the final
authority for the church and over the state. PopeGregory VII asserted the Pope had granted the
divine power from God because Saint Peter was the first of getting this... Show more content on

King Philip s advisers challenged the Pope by quoting the Roman Law, which stated that the
King of France was completely sovereign in his kingdom and responsible to God alone (McKay,
364). Not long King Phillip arrested Pope Boniface VIII in Italy and had foreshadowed later
conflicts between the church and the state in the 14th century. The decline of church power
became even more apparent during the Babylonian Captivity (1309 1376). Pope Clement V s
agreement on King Philip s request of settlement in Avignon in southwestern France first signified
the Pope s leadership and authority had been weakened. Furthermore, after Gregory XI s death,
Urban VI (1378 1389) had been planning on church reform, but his endorsement of opposition
among the hierarchy had triggered a serious of disaster. As a result, Cardinal Robert of Geneva
was elected to be Pope and took the name Clement VII. The situation became two popes in office:
Urban at Rome and the anti pope Clement VII at Avignon, hence marked the beginning of the Great
Schism. France immediately recognized the antipope Clement while Aragon, Castile and Portugal
follow suit. For England, they recognized Urban VI and the

deaf blind woman, she won different awards in her life, and made many contributions to the
world. First reason Helen Keller is a hero because she has faced many challenges, one of the first
challenges she faced was she blind and deaf. Helen wasn t always that way she became ill and
became blind, deaf, and mute (Biography). This did not stop her, though Helen Keller was the
first deaf, blind person to earn a college degree, and she graduated from Radcliffe college with
honors in 1904 (American). Also at the time Radcliffe was basically Harvard for women.
Although she was blind, she has made over 13 books such as Light in My Darkness, Optimism,

Uncle Sam Nickname
On this day in 1813, the United States gets its nickname, Uncle Sam. The name is linked to
Samuel Wilson, a meat packer from Troy, New York, who supplied barrels of beef to the United
States Army during the War of 1812.Wilson (1766 1854) stamped the barrels with U.S. for
United States, but soldiers began referring to the grub as Uncle Sam s. The local newspaper

Black actors and actresses to boycott the Oscars because she believes it lacks diversity. The All

success of the movie industry, and need to be appreciated on their works just as the white actors

Theme Of Existentialism In As You Like It
The play to be reviewed is As You Like It, written by William Shakespeare. The prevailing
philosophy throughout the play is existentialism. What is existentialism? Existentialism can be
defined through its ontology. Ontology is the study of the nature of reality and is also called the
theory of reality. The ontologyof existentialismcan be discussed in under concepts of man and
existence. In the concept of man, existentialists believe that man is not bound by any antecedent
human nature but rather free to determine its own nature. It opposed those deterministic theories
(ex. inborn talents, predestined path of life, etc.) and favoured principle of indeterminism. To be a
man is to be undetermined, to be free. Man has the freedom to choose and... Show more content on

As quoted from Marcel, to exist means not just to be present to my own aware ness but also to
be a manifest being. I exist that is as much to say: I have something to make myself known and
recognized both by others and by myself . In conclusion, existentialism is not about man as an
absolute being but rather a relative and subjective one. As long as a man exists, there is always a
room for him to revise and correct himself and has a future that is not determined by his innate
nature, birthright, etc. The most important values on existentialism are freedom of choice and
individuality. As You Like Itis a play written by William Shakespeare and is classified as marriage
comedy together with the plays Twelfth Night and A Midsummer Night s Dream. The list of
main characters includes Duke Frederick: the usurper of the throne of Duke Senior which is
also his brother; Celia (aka Aliena): the daughter of Duke Frederick; Rosalind (aka Ganymede):
the daughter of Duke Senior; Touchstone: the court s clown; Sons of the late Sir Rowland de

Acupuncture Vs Moxibustion
The combinations of Chinese acupuncture and moxibustion have long been used as a medicinal
therapy for a variety of health conditions. During the past decade, the practice has been introduced
into the western culture and more widely accepted as a holistic form of treatment. Acupuncture
triggers the nervous system, while moxibustion initiates the circulatory and immune systems of the
body. It s the blending of both methods that help to intensify the treatment s benefit and delivering
remarkable results depending on the patient s health condition. Today in a clinic setting both
methods are used during the same session with a trained acupuncturepractitioner. There s a second

Statement of Purpose for a Career in Nursing
It is said that the environment of our upbringing plays a salient role in determining the ambitions
we pursue, the moral values we cherish and ultimately, the lasting contributions we make to
society. I firmly believe that my formative experiences laid down the foundation for passion for
nursing and constitute one of the salient reasons why I am determined to pursue this profession.
For me nursing, is more than a mere vocation, it is a moral commitment, the manifestation of my
natural talents and the actualization of the deep seated aspirations that I have nourished since
childhood. My mother was an accomplished nurse and always set a remarkable example for me
to follow by displaying virtues of compassion, moral courage and dedication to the public good.
My life experiences compelled me to emulate her example by cultivating the virtues of compassion
and genuine sensitivity to patients. My formative experiences and core values led me to enter this
career in the capacity of a Certified Nursing Assistantwhere I was distinguished for not only my
competence as a nurse assistant, but also for my remarkable sensitivity to the needs of the patients.
I intend to continue to actualize my natural talents by pursuing a career in Nursing.
To her profound dismay, the social, political and economic circumstances prevented her from living
consistently with the lifelong aspirations that she imparted upon me. As natives of Sierra Leone, we

Essay On Should Female Soccer Players Be Paid More
Women Soccer Players Should be Paid More In the year 2015, the Women s United States
national team won the World Cup. When they won they earned a $2 million. Even though this
was a great accomplishment, in the 2014 Men s World Cup, Germany won and earned a
whopping $35 million. This is a major pay gap between the men and women s soccer teams. I
believe that women soccer players should be paid as much or more than their male counterparts.
Many people believe that men and women soccer players are paid perfectly the way they are, but
the way that the women are getting paid is an enormous issue in today s society. Women should be
paid more because they are bringing in more profit, they are winning more games than the men, and

Millions of young girls dream to be like them one day. When these players come to town, the tickets
sell out fast. For example, in Denver, the Women s National Team played a friendly against Japan,
when the tickets went up for sale, they sold out in just ten minutes! This happens everywhere when
the national team comes to town. This is raising lots of ticket sales for the Women s National Team,
but the Women s National team isn t getting the money that they deserve. Another big example is
that when the women played Japan, in 2015, in the World Cup championship, there were more than
twenty five million people watching. This is the most views that any game in the English speaking
language (men or women) has received. Even though they are selling more tickets and having more
viewers, they are still not getting the money that they rightfully deserve. Even though they are
bringing in more profit, they still aren t making the money that they should be getting. It is
important for the Women s National Teams to stand up for what is right. They are being torn away
from the money they deserve for nothing. Why is

Gaming Pc Vs. Pc Gaming
A gaming PC is superior to anything console gaming down to the level of segments it contains. On
the off chance that individuals like to level headed discussion, ask a PC gamer and console gamer
to clarify why one kind of gaming is superior to the next. Both consoles and PC upgrade the gaming
background in their own specific manner, permitting gamer to feel associated and coordinated with
better illustrations, smooth motions and fresh, clear sound. This entire contention has found that
PC gaming is superior to anything console gaming. Improved illustrations is a main consideration
in light of the fact that a diversion with terrible quality is not satisfying to the player. Individuals
likewise have the choice to redesign their video card to meet the requests of more up to date

Essay on College Athletes Should Get Paid
Pay for Play Today, sports are no longer fun and games, sports are a business, and college sports
are no different. Division I college sports provide a huge source of universities income. The school
receives money from ticket sales, television contracts, and sport related merchandise, along with
many other sports related revenue builders. The athletes on the other hand, receive their scholarship
and little more. While the idea of receiving a free college education is something few would
complain about; when the issue is more closely examined it becomes evident that it is not enough.
Universities are exploiting athletes, and recently the problems that this creates have become more
prominent. More and more athletes are now leaving... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another major argument for not compensating college athletes is the fact that we have never
done so in the past. Also, at a time of economic crisis, most Universities have other things to
worry about, especially because there is no system in place currently that allows student athletes
to receive money. The comparison of what student athletes get versus what they give makes it
very obvious that they are exploited. Many of the athletes receive their education free, which
can range from about $10,000 to more than $40,000 a year. However, college programs generate
thousands more off of the athlete. Recently, the University of Notre Dame signed a five season
38 million dollar contract with NBC for its home football games (Wulf 94). If there were 100
full scholarship football players for Notre Dame, that would equal $380,000 per player just from
the TV revenues, when the limit of scholarships is usually around eighty. This does not even take
into account the ticket revenues, championship or bowl game payouts, and merchandise sold
because of the players. Notre Dame is not the only school making million dollar deals like this
one. The NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) makes approximately 242 million
dollars off of TV revenues each year, and that number shouldn t do anything but rise (Bruinius 1).
When college athletes only receive a scholarship usually somewhere in the ball park of

Summary Of The Four Spiritual Laws
Summary of Method I chose to research The Four Spiritual Laws the Intellectual method, this
method is a way to help bring the Good News to the un believers. Paul used this method when he

One way you can start a conversation with a non believer is by asking have they heard about The
Four Spiritual Laws. The Four Spiritual Laws is a book written in 1952 by William Bill Bright an
American evangelist, he also founded Campus Crusade for Christ in 1951 as ministry for the
university students.
The first law is God s Love God loves you and offers a wonderful plan for your life. John 3:16 God
so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not
perish, but have eternal life. God s Plan Jesus said: The thief does not come except to steal, and to
kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more
abundantly . John 10:10 (NKJV) (www.cru.org 1994 2015) After those two verses the question is
asked, Why is it that most people are not experiencing that abundant life? Because of our sinful
ways. Which brings us to the second law.
The second law is Man is sinful and separated from God. Thus he cannot know and experience God
s love and plan for his life. Romans 3:23. All of us sin and our sin has

Critical Review Of Analytical Frameworks
In the past decade, language memoirs, linguistic autobiographies, and learners journals and
diaries have become a popular means of data collection in applied linguistics. It is not always clear
however how one should go about analyzing this data. The aim of this paper is to offer a critical
review of analytical frameworks applied to how one languageautobiography can say a lot about one
person s past experiences and shapes them into who they are today. I will discuss the dialect, both
geographical environment and social factors, and associates within through developing, using and
changing an idiolect which constitutes part of a persona and self identity of these frameworks in
relation to the type of information they seek: subject reality, life reality, and text reality. I argue that
some analytical results, in particular content from academic journals, are insensitive to the
interpretive nature of autobiographic data. Subsequently, I will talk about my idiolect that is a
collection of features of vocabulary development through parent child directed speech,

One of my most meaningful achievements I have worked for has to be my academic awards. In my
senior year of high school I earned a silver and gold medal for having good grades. I got a gold
medal because I had A s or B s in most of my classes (except maybe one or two), and a silver for
having mostly B s and I think a couple C s. I earned these after each semester of my senior year. I
know this will help to keep me motivated throughout the school year at The Art Institute of
Phoenix because I m a hard worker. I don t like the feeling of failing or having the possibility to
fail. I take my work very seriously and I like to test myself with new things. I can see myself very
comfortable in being a game programmer because it s all a challenge, learning

Professional Development Plan Essay
Introduction This assignment describes my own Professional Development Plan (PDP) for the
first six months of my nurse registration. Following a PDP will show my commitment to
Continuing Professional Development (CPD), otherwise known as PREP (CPD). PREP stands
for Post Registration Education and Practice and is a set of Nursing and Midwifery Council
(NMC) standards and guidance that help nurses give the best possible care (NMC PREP Handbook
2006 p3); part of which is a commitment to CPD. CPD is a process of learning activities designed

IV therapy is used because it is fast acting, works effectively and if there are any side effects then
the treatment can be stopped instantly (Hopkins 1999 p13); (Mallett Dougherty 2000 p822).
During my clinical placements I have witnessed IV therapy being administered to patients who
require prescribed analgesia, antibiotics or anti emetics as well as observing patients reactions to
the treatment. IV therapy can be very effective (Hyde 2002 p42) but it also carries the greatest
risk of any administration route. Amoore Adamson (2003 p45) maintain that the safe
administration of IV therapy requires the nurse to be skilled and knowledgeable in the use of
the equipment, and to prevent any adverse incidents nurses must have up to date knowledge of
the associated risks. As a student nurse I am not considered professionally accountable and I
must work within my level of understanding and competence, under the direct supervision of a
registered nurse (NMC guide for students 2006 p4). Nurses must have the knowledge and skills
for safe and effective practice when working without direct supervision (NMC The Code 2007
p7). The Royal College of Nursing (RCN 2003 p7) states that IV therapy is a central part of a
nurse s professional practice. I realise that as a final year student I am not authorised to give IV
therapy without supervision, so as a newly registered nurse this is an ideal opportunity to learn
about IV therapy. I am using the SMART Framework to

Biblical View On Homosexuality And Religion
Biblical view on Homosexuality
In the bible God divinely established the institution of marriage, and this is seen in the garden of
Eden during creation. Marriage was a special gift to man from a loving God before the fall that led
to evil and pervasion entering the spiritual world of man. Marriage was designed by our creator to
give satisfaction to a person s deepest longings for intimacy, love, appreciation and care. The views
of marriage between Christians and Jews are fundamentally different and show the different ways
that they view the world in relation to how they interpret their own doctrine and how these views
are changing over time.
According to the Christian doctrine, reasons why people get married and traditional marriages are
becoming diminished at a faster rate than ever as the culture changes. This is very true for
contemporary culture, law, and society. A growing influence in secular ideologies and practice are
undermining biblical standards in family relations and sexual morality. Marital unfaithfulness,
spousal abuse, sex before marriage, cohabitation, pornography, and promiscuity; these among other
liberated lifestyles of married couples are bringing down the intuition of marriage. Moreover,
alternative sexualities like homosexuality included and other varieties of transgender identities are
becoming increasingly mainstream. In the course of years, the strict Christian community and
Orthodox Judaism have responded to this rapidly changing landscape

Tort Law And Effects On Society
Tort Law and Effects on Society Tort laws can be described as laws that provide a remedy to a
person that has been harmed or injured by the unreasonable acts of another. Tort law plays a role
in society that touches almost every single person. Tort law protects patients from wrongful acts by
their physician, it provides a remedy when a company pollutes the water or air, it provides a
remedy to consumers when they purchase a defective product, and it protects employees from
employer negligence. Intentional Torts Intentional torts can be defined simply as intentional civil
wrongdoings. The person committing the tort does not need to plan to bring harm to another, but
he must be aware that his acts could have a certain result. For example, a person who throws a
large rock into a large, packed crowd of people may not have wanted to hit anyone with the rock, but
should know that someone will be hit and hurt. It is also important to note that an intentional tort
can also be a crime. For example, a battery can be both a crime and a tort. Intentional torts can be
divided into two categories, torts against the person and torts against property. Torts against a
person can be battery, assault, false imprisonment, and infliction of mental distress. Torts against
property can include trespass to land, trespass to chattels, and conversion. Battery is the intentional
infliction of harmful or offensive contact. If the person committing battery only intends to scare

Personal Narrative-The Racoon And The Skunk
The Racoon and The Skunk I was being chased. It wasn t the fun games you played when you
were just a toddler. It was the run for your life chase. I couldn t run any more, my heart was
beating so hard; as if it would explode out of my furry grey chest at any given moment. My tiny
charcoal paws had enough with all the beating from the sticks and stones. They really could
break your bones. I stopped in the middle of my tracks, then darted to the nearest bush. I could
tell that the black and white creature was slowly crawling towards me. It wasn t very secretive
with it s steps, like a tiger hunting its prey. It was more like a toddler, dashing to the tree on
Christmas morning. I thought this would be the end of me. It came closer and closer, and I
could see the black fur on its back glisten from the rays of the noon sun. I was alone and scared. I
couldn t cry out for help, as no one would hear me. I dashed to the nearest log. It was a young log

Use Of A Computer On The Basic Level
Nowadays we live in the era of computers. Everybody should know at least how to use a
computer on the basic level. I ve found a great resource both for those who are willing to improve
their programming skills and for those who only start programming!
Example:
In this hour, you get a chance to learn some Python basics, such as using the print function to
display output. You will read about using variables and how to assign values to variables, and you
will gain an understanding of their data types. By the end of the hour, you will know how to get
data into a script by using the input function and write your first Python script!
Producing Python Script Output
Understanding how to produce output from a Python script is a good starting point for those who
are new to the Python programming language. You get instant feedback on your Python statements
from the Python interactive interpreter and can experiment with proper syntax. The print function,
which you met in Hour 3, Setting Up a Programming Environment, is a good place to focus your
attention.
Exploring the print Function
A function is a group of Python statements that are put together as a unit to perform a specific task.
You simply enter a single Python statement to perform a task for you.

Marketing Research s Crucial Role in Helping Marriott...
Introduction
Apart from innovativeness and incisive management, Marketing Research has played a crucial role
in helping Marriot segment the market and successfully launch and develop its line of hotels.
Marketing research has been a significant backbone for the success of Marriott. Therefore,
marketing research is an important requisite for Marriott to keep track of their changing consumer
and business customer needs, to identify new opportunities in the hospitality service sector, to
further develop and differentiate its various brands, and to develop strong brand equity. Through
marketing research, Marriott has scaled magnificent heights of operational success.

Although price is a pertinent perspective in decision making, non business travellers also focus on
standards of quality on offer (Belk, p. 86). For instance, most non business travellers emphasize on
the quality of hospitality services such as privacy and safety.
Without qualitative research, it would have been extremely difficult for Marriot to investigate these
perspectives. It is also vital to note that qualitative research has been the leading light in helping this
firm evaluate the different gains and shortcomings of focusing on the non business travellers.
Consequently, this has strengthened the company s framework for market expansion. Qualitative
research has also been essential in establishing the most appropriate marketing strategies for the
firm in the USA (Morrison, p. 75). In the modern business environment, advertising strategies are
extremely pivotal towards the determining a firm s overall performance (Hospitality net, 2013).
Marriott has been evaluated based on amenities like convenience, comfort, services, price and
quality, as each of the six amenities represents an exemplary platform for streamlining the standards
of performance for Marriott. Quality is a sensitive attribute towards determining the choice of hotels
by prospective clients. On the other hand, the price segment would focus on an evaluation of the

The Structure And Function Of Endospores And Capsules Work
Bacterial endospores are highly resistant structures that can withstand many forms of treatments,
including heat and UV (Atrih Foster, 2002), and this characteristic is facilitated by their unique
spore structure. Bacterial capsules play an important role in the virulence of bacteria for their host,
and enable bacterial cells to evade host defense mechanisms and survive hostile environments. The
structure and function of endospores and capsules work specifically to benefit the microbial cell;
furthermore, various physiological changes occur in these structures as a result of environmental
stress (Sahin, Yong, Driks, Mahadevan, 2012). The specific mechanism of these physiological
changes, the types of environmental stresses that cause the changes, and how these correlate with
endospore and capsular structure and function are essential to the understanding of this topic.
Bacterial endospores are dormant, non reproductive, and sometimes disease causing cell structures
that are typically formed in Gram positive bacteriaunder a process called sporulation. Endospores
exhibit high resistance to environmental stresses, and these structures are able to resist conditions
that are unfavourable to most organisms, enabling bacteria to lie dormant for extended periods of
time (hundreds to thousands of years). In addition, endospores are highly durable, as dormant
spores return to an actively growing state a process called germination) when nutrients return to
their environment.

School Lunch Essay
Skipping Dessert
When I was younger, I vividly remember the vast amount of delicious food that was offered every
day in my school lunchroom. The food that I use to describe as good food, I am beginning to
undoubtedly recognise for the unhealthy junk that it actually is. There are countless others who
also notice how horrible these foods are to feed children in school cafeterias. Today, those same
cafeterias are tremendously different from the ones I remember from when I was little, and they are
always continuously changing. The amount of options we are offered have not lessened, they have
simply changed. Instead of having the option to purchase nachos, we now are given the option of
baked fries. Also, instead of having a dessert of an innutritious brownie, we now are given a large
variety of sweet fruits to choose from instead. While some students distinguish these changes as a
catastrophe, I can understand the importance of having students skip dessert during a school lunch.
Allowing the NSLP to regulate what is served in school lunches would help parents trust that their
children would be getting healthier foods at school, help to combat the epidemic of obesity and
malnutrition in the United States, and assist in educating children on healthy diet choices.
In the article School Lunches , the author discusses whether or not the government s National
School Lunch Program (NSLP) should be allowed to regulate what is served in school lunches.

Knockin On Heaven s Door Meaning
Knockin On Heaven s Door One of Guns N Roses popular songs is Knockin On Heaven s Door,
but what many may not know is that this song was only a cover of the original song written by
Bob Dylan. Although the song is comprised of very few lyrics, it has a deep meaning for people.
The song was written by Bob Dylan in 1973 for the western film, Pat Garret and Billy The Kid. It
is written from the perspective of a dying sheriff (Songfacts). The song reached number 12 on
the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart (Aloisio). After it hit the charts, the song s popularity grew.
Many famous artists have covered the song, but another that stands out is the cover sung by
Warren Zevon around 2003. While the original and the covers sung by Guns N Roses and
Warren Zevon are similar, the artists all bring their own emotion and meaning to the song. Bob
Dylan s version of Knockin On Heaven s Door is number 192 on Rolling Stone s 500 Greatest

was recording the song for his album. Although Warren Zevon added a few things to his version
of the song, his and Bob Dylan s were still very similar. Both portrayed a darkness and sadness to
the song which I believe was the intention of the song when it was written by Bob Dylan. Guns

of the song was more up beat, and less somber. The songs were a joy to listen to, but the one that I

The Color Legacy in Major Leage Baseball

Robinson signed his first contract. Rickey thought Jackie would be more comfortable playing in
Canada for the Dodgers minor league team, the Montreal Royals. Turns out, Rickey was right.
Jackie gained tons of fans in Canada, and at the end of the season, Jackie led the minor leagues in
batting and runs scored. The Royals also won the minor league pennant that year. In 1947, Jackie
Robinson was a Major League Baseball player. The Dodgers had called him up on assignment and
Jackie immediately started working. In spring training of his first season, his Brooklyn

The Vietnam War
The Vietnam War was, and still is a difficult topic to discuss, not because of the battle itself, but
because of the unfamiliarity of the subject most present day students have. Five years after World
War II, the war for Vietnamese independency began, which is also when textbooks for some reason
strayed away from world history and lingered toward United States history instead the economic
boom and race war is far more recognizable to modern day students and the fear of Communist
tendencies assisted in altering the curriculum to avoid the problems outside of the United States.
However, soldiers continued to fight on unfamiliar grounds during the time, many have lost their
lives, and George Crumbs composition Black Angelsrepresents the true, raw emotion of what it felt
like away from home. In Black Angels, Crumb fulfilled the command to reinvent music, not by
writing a piece that reflected on the war, but by making music as the embodiment of war and thus

the titles of each number in the three movement program can assist the surfacing discomfort of
what war should bring.

like a swarm of insects, comparable to the unfamiliar land soldiers trod upon with insects crowding
about corpses before them. As the piece progresses into the next number, the quartet turns into a trio

Business Intelligence Is A Vital Part Of Keeping An...
Business intelligence is a vital part of keeping an organization competitive. Data mining processes
are essential to developing business intelligence. According to a study by IBM, 2.5 quintillion
bytes of data are created every day. This total includes everything from photos and social media
posts to word processing files, financial records and Snap chats. The objective of data miningis to
use the enormous amount of information being produced to understand trends, accumulate
additional new information, and develop better processes and services based on research, behavior,
and preferences
Data mining is defined as the examining of large databases of information in order to generate new
information. Nearly every transaction or interaction leaves a data signature that is captured and
stored. Data mining is a means of automating the process of analyzing the patterns of data according
to different categories. The information is then sorted, collected and assembled into data
warehouses for more efficient analysis by algorithms and used to facilitate business decisions.
Sophisticated mathematical algorithms are used to segment the data and evaluate the probability of
future events.
The major steps involved in a data mining process are to first extract, transform and load the data
into a data warehouse, then store and manage the data in databases; the data will then be given to
analysts to be processed using application software and finally the analyzed data will be presented

Moreover, for fundamentals various models are deliberated, besides which sensitivity on investment
analysis are conducted with choices of realistic scenario. In Finland business opportunities does
exist but however, until now still no attractive returns. Base case analysis demonstrated internal
rates which are among 3,0 % and 1,6 % , this is without demand response benefits, and internal rates
of return among 0,8 % and 0,3 % with them. Therefore, demand response had a really important

The Complex And Major Organ Of Our Body Perform Essay
Kidney
It is a complex and major organ of our body perform several important functions like formation of
urine, water and salt metabolism, acid base balance, regulation of blood calcium level and secretion
of hormones (Padmalochana et al.2015). The kidney is composed of many tortuous, closely packed
uriniferous tubules, bounded by a delicate connective tissue in which run blood vessels, lymphatics
and nerves. Each tubule consists of two embryologically distinct parts, the nephron, which produces
urine, and the collecting duct, which completes the concentration of urine and through which urine
passes out into the calyces of the kidney, the renal pelvis, the ureter and urinary bladder. A renal, or
uriniferous, tubule consists of a glomerular capsule that leads into a proximal convoluted tubule,
connected to the capsule by a short neck and continuing into a sinuous or coiled convoluted part .
This straightens as it approaches the medulla, and becomes the descending thick limb of the loop of
Henle, and then the ascending limb by an abrupt U turn. The limbs of the loop of Henle are
narrower and thin walled within the deeper medullary tissue, where they become the descending
and ascending thin segments. The ascending thick limb continues into the distal tubule. The tubule
wall shows a focal thickening, the macula densa, where it comes close to the vascular pole of its
parent glomerulus at the start of the convoluted part of the distal tubule. The nephron finally

A GMO is when a gene from the DNA of one organism is put into the DNA of another
Organism.GMO stands for Genetically Modified Organisms. Cows, Chickens, Pigs, and even
Plants can have their DNA changed. Scientists developed this gene changing method which is a
main cause of animal suffering. Factory Farms nearly 100% of the animals are given GMO s to
make them grow bigger. Banned in 27 countries (not the U.S.), recombinant Bovine Growth
Hormone is injected into cows to produce more milk. This alteration of the GMO is made by
mixing cow DNA and E. Coli (seriously). These cause infections on the cow making the body
produce more milk as the cow is suffering. Cows are suffering just to give us more milk and yet
we have not banned this injection. Also, GMO usage can lead to the inability to walk or even
stand up in their cages. The animals on factory farms are fed growth hormones which give them
a disability to stand up. When the animals grow bigger then they are supposed to, their bones
cannot hold the weight which forces them to lay down and the bones sometimes snap. GMO s

How Did Emmett Till Influence The Civil Rights Movement

emerging American Civil Rights Movement. Now of course, the first things that come to mind

Jazz, By Louis Armstrong
Jazz midterm
1. Louis Armstrong is credited in the book titled Jazz as the single most important figure in the
development of jazz. He is known as the only major figure in Western musical history to have a
profound influence as a singer and an instrumentalist. His defining qualities as a performer were the
emotion, beauty, and technical mastery he brought to each performance, and he knew how to
please an audience. Performing jazz was a personal and powerful experience to him, and it was
communicated effectively to his audience. Duke Ellington is quoted as calling him a truly good
and original man, and his contributions to jazz music reflect that statement.
Prior to Armstrong s involvement, jazz was considered an urban folk music that was closely
related to ragtime and military bands. Jazz was music played by an ensemble for social functions,
such as dances or funerals. Armstrong provided five major areas of innovation that progressed this
music, changing how it was perceived drastically, from solely entertainment, to widely successful
art music with commercial success.
Armstrong s first major influence was the establishment of a blue scale and creating what is now
jazz s harmonic foundation. Over this, he was free to improvise, another major contribution of his.
The solos he performed demonstrated that improvised music could have weight and substance like
written music, and set the groundwork for many to come. His solos also helped establish jazz as a
music that

1.2.76 73, 85 86) says Hamlet when confronted about his way of grieving over his father s recent
death. Shakespeare s play Hamletis a remarkable tale that is centered on the idea of death and grief.
While death is a universal occurrence, meaning every person will deal with it, how we grieve
after a loss is completely individual. To look at a formula of grief, most turn to the five stages of
grief developed by Elizabeth Kubler Ross, a psychiatrist, who studied the topic in her book On
Death and Dying. This model consists of denial, anger,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This idea of acceptance of death proven in Hamlet s line to Horatio after being challenged to a
fencing match with Laertes, if it be now, / tis not to come; if it be not to come, it will be now;
/ if it be not now, yet it will come. The readiness is / all. Since no man of aught he leaves knows,
what / is t to leave betimes? Let be (5.2.221 225). This is an important line in the play because it
shows Hamlet s acceptance of death in his own terms and everyone else s, meaning if it is
supposed to happen, it will. This also shows Hamlet s acceptance of his destiny when
concerning death and revenge. At the end of the play, when Hamlet is dying from the poisoned
sword, he does not grieve or think of what will happen to his spirit. Instead he moves on by
passing on his vote for Fortinbras and requesting that his story be passed on by Horatio (5.2.349,
356 357). This desire to move on shows the acceptance of Hamlet s faith, and the final stage of the
Kubler Ross model. Throughout Shakespeare s play Hamlet, the characters clearly describe the
grief they are experiencing through their poetic lines. Using the Kubler Ross model, the audience
can dissect the grief process to better understand Hamlet s intentions. In the play, Hamlet
experiences strong emotions concerning grief, including his examples of depression, anger, and
finally, acceptance. The play shows that while the model was created in 1969, the

Choosing Your Newborn First Food Can Feel Like A...
Choosing to decide your newborns first food can feel like a challenging dilemma. After speaking
with both new and existing moms each agreed that breastfeeding provides an array of benefits that
surpasses the alternative feeding options. Stores nationwide are stocked with various brands of
formula all claiming to contain the conducive various nutrients of breast milk. In comparison to
store bought formulas and its many facets, breastfeedingis the overall best adequate source for
most newborn growth and development. Furthermore, Breast milk is naturally gentle on a
newborns digestive system. Also it is a convenient choice to balance your newly preoccupied life,
and not to mention it s economically friendly on any budget. After delivery the physical bond
between mother and child begins. Shortly after birth a newborn is placed on his/her mother s chest
to establish a bond and encourage a first time feeding. A new mom s first milk supply is called the
colostrum. Colostrum has the highest quality of nutrients and antibodies to help ward off
infections and aid in balancing your newborns gentle digestive system. As mentioned before
colostrum is just the first stage of producing milk for your baby. Your regular supply of breast milk

Argumentative Essay On Dystopian Fiction
Dystopian Fiction Argumentative Essay
Why do authors write dystopian fiction? Authors write dystopian fiction so they can warn us about
the future. Dystopian fiction is ...a genre of fictional writing used to explore social and political
structures in a dark, nightmare world. The term dystopia is defined as a society characterized by
poverty, squalor or oppression and the theme is most commonly used in science fiction and
speculative fiction genres (www.questia.com). In this essay I will be writing about how, it often has
possible results from current events/issues, History repeats itself, and how the author writes the
story to be interesting with many hidden messages within the story.

If you watch close, history does nothing but repeat itself.
What we call chaos is just patterns we haven t recognized. (Chuck Palahniuk, Survivor). This quote
is linked to my reason, because it tells you straight up that history is just patterns and cahs is history
coming back to haunt us. Although history has a reputation for repeating itself, some people also
believe you can t predict the future.
Many people believe you can t predict the future. People look at it like, somebody can just one
day say the world is going to end tomorrow and wake up dead the next morning. That doesn t
happen! Yes this is true, but however, You can predict the future. Yes I agree that somebody just
can t show up to work today and say the world is going to end tomorrow, just s they can get paid
leave tomorrow. It takes science, you look at history and compare that to current events.
Sometimes you can even do it through your dreams. Prophetic dreams, also called precognitive
dreams, do not occur much, if at all, so you will have to be vigilant when it comes to remembering
and reading your dreams (wikihow.com)This quote proves my rebuttal, because Prophetic dreams
are dreams that predict the future, but you are lucky if you even have one, but if you do, then you
don t get them very often. So now that you know that the future is predictable, did you also know
the author throws hidden messages into the story to remind us why they are writing the story, to

Our Secret by Susan Griffin Essay
Susan Griffin s Our Secret is a study in psychology. It is a look into the human mind to see what
makes people do the things they do and in particular what makes people commit acts of violence.
She isolates the first half of the twentieth century and in particular the era of the Second World
War as a basis for her study. The essay discusses a number of people but they all tie in to Heinrich
Himmler. He is the extreme case, he who can be linked directly to every single death in the
concentration camps. Griffin seeks to examine Himmler because if she can discern a monster like
Himmler than everyone else simply falls into place. The essay also tries to deduce why something
like the Holocaust, although never mentioned directly, can... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The earliest entries in this diary betray so little. Like the words of a schoolboy commanded to
write what the teacher requires of him, they are wooden and stiff. The stamp of his father s
character is so heavy on this language that I catch not even a breath of a self here. (Griffin 407 408)
He became a man who thought not for himself but preferred to have others give him commands.
That is why he rose to power in the Nazi party, he did not question orders but rather thrived on
them. Following Hitler with unwavering loyalty, he is known as der treur Heinrich, true
Heinrich. He describes himself as an instrument of the Fuhrer s will (Griffin 421). Did the
violence in Himmler stem from his adoration of his brother, the perfect physical specimen.
Heinrich tried his whole life to be like his older brother, strong and masculine. So much so that
while serving as Reichsfuhrer he devised a set of standards for the Aryan Race to live up to.
One could argue that these standards were modeled after his brother. Himmler s belief in
physical superiority led to the suppression and deaths of many who did not measure up which is
ironic because Himmler himself was frail and did not meet any of his own standards. Influenza
struck Himmler as a child which prevented him from becoming strong as an adult. Compared with
his brother he is weak. He sees his brother and how popular he is. This led Himmler to associate

Headaches and Alternative Treatment Options Essay
Headaches and alternative treatment options...
Almost everyone has experienced a headache in their lives. It is top of the list for most common
pains, and possibly the major underlying excuse in your life if you miss something. It may come
up suddenly while you are sitting at your desk and working on a challenging task, at a stressful
moment, or even at your sleep! You may feel a belt is tightened around your head or can even be a
throbbing type of pain. Some of the headaches are periodic and a concomitant nausea may be felt.
With the involvement of stress as a factor, the pain might strike at the neck as well. Do all these

When treating of headaches are part of discussion, the strategies divide up according to the
underlying cause, although most of them obviously includes painkillers.
The most common type of headache is called the tension headache. This type of headache is
mostly due to a stressful condition, including challenging tasks, anxiety and depression. Tension is
term here referred to a spasm of muscles starting from your shoulders and going up towards the
head including the scalp. Tension headaches are due to tight muscles in your shoulders, neck, scalp
and jaw. If you experience this type o headache, most likely it means that either you work to much,
don t sleep enough, don t drink enough water, use alcohol in a routine fashion, or don t just don t
sleep enough! Other common types of headaches include the publicly popular headache called
migraines and sinus headaches.
Although they all are uncomfortable situations, all of them do not require a physician s attention,
including the severe ones if they are in a routine fashion. Most people can cope with headaches or
find their own solutions in treating them, sometimes by making small lifestyle changes, or
learning a way to relax instead of just heading to the medicine cabinet for a pain killer. On the
other hand, sometimes headaches are actually warning signals for serious disorders, so when you
feel something that you have never experienced before it is better to consult your doctor. Doctor s

Consumerism In Willy Mink
The most extreme form of submission to the new order of society, centered around objects and
waves and radiation (DeLillo 1) is Mink, who represents the epitome of consumerism culture. The
description of Mink by Lentricchia on page 113 covers the descriptions of the novel perfectly.
Sitting in front of the TV, throwing fistfuls of Dylar at his mouth, babbling, Willy Mink is a
compacted image of consumerismin the society of electronic media, a figure of madness, but our
figure of madness. At the same time the author reveals an additional fact about DeLillo s piece,
specifically that it is relevant to our day and age and not a science fiction novel, but rather a
cutting depiction of contemporary life. The next analysis stems from the scene in which Jack
attempts to kill Mink for providing his wife with an unapproved substance called Dylar and having
an affair with her.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dominating and (almost) destroying a man who simply isn t there, or whose own self is thoroughly
dispersed by chemical media, transnational migration, leaves Jack s monstrously meaningful
transgression hollow and pointless. Thereby, DeLillo suggest that another effect of overly
consumerist tendencies is the transformation of person into intangible data waves, thus not only
embracing media culture, but being a medium of it. As Jack describes it, He was watching TV
without the sound. (DeLillo 305) The sound is transported from or through Mink as opposed to the
television blaring it out, which shows his deep involvement with the television. He also cannot be
described by Jack, which means that he is of another species essentially, no longer earthly, but
rather a superiority. Also, by the fact that Jack is unable to murder him and Mink s deep
involvement, DeLillo points out the conquest of media culture on

The Instinctual Behaviors Of Horses
Instinctual behaviors that horses acquire are their social structure, reproduction, mothering, feeding
and communication. For their social structure they have a complex structure. Horses are not
territorial animals, they usually graze close to other herds and there is little to no aggression
showed. Having the dominant leader of the groups is defined by the horse who has preferential
access to resources through aggressive threats or actions. As for reproduction the mare, or female
horse will urinate showing her vulva that then attracts the stallion, or male horse. If they become
satisfied with each other copulation will occur many times over a period of time. The mare carries
the foal for 9 months. As the skin to skin contact like humans to... Show more content on

Horses are very intelligent animals they are fast learners with correct and consistent training.
They are able to figure out their own problems and work them out. Horses make associations
with things that happen. So if something bad occurs during a specific event that is what the
horse is going to remember. But if a reward is given the horse will think whatever bad thing
happened in that event is usual and the treat will take their mind off of it. When a horse has
learned habituation the response to a stimulus has decreased. This happens when the horse is
confronting the same stimulus multiple times and soon has gotten used to it and the response to
it being there has decreased. When the horse has learned association this is called conditioning.
The horse realizes that this meant that . The horse makes associations and connections with
commands and cues. The first licks from a mare to a foal horse are what is called imprinting.
The licking from the mare stimulates a bond between the two horses. But there is also an
imprinting done by humans. Humans can give a good or bad imprint on the foal which can later
affect them growing up. If they are given a good imprint they are more likely to do the things that
humans need them to do later in life. For example the horse will accept being saddled, rode with
little to no resistance, and having muzzle clipped and ears handled. But a bad

Gender Stereotypes Of The Twentieth Century Entertainment...
Gender stereotypes
In the last few decades the daily lives of Americans is revolving around about what the
entertainment media has displayed for them. Society has been influenced by the media with
movies, advertisements and news that are constantly bombarding us. Entertainment media has
given Americans a taste of the films that display a traditional housewife woman and heroic male
figures. However, today s media has offered a new perspective on how a woman or man can act.
These stereotypes have been making a difference for woman and men by allowing them to be able
to express their individuality. In many Disney movies, gender stereotypes have been changing from
the typical idea of what a woman s image should be. The twentieth century ... Show more content

This shows how many options to dress a girl has.
The second aspect is related with the limit of what a woman can do compared to what a man can

Case Study Of Worldcom
The actions of former WorldCom Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Bernard Ebbers were
extremely indicative of leadership. Unfortunately, Ebbers also displayed destructive deviant
behavior that was equally as extreme. He was described by key staff members at WorldCom as a
charismatic leader who inspired extraordinary levels of personal loyalty and high employee
performance (TreviГ±o Brown, 2005). As a leader, Ebbers gave back to the Mississippi community
by teaching at his local church, serving meals to the less fortunate, and donating over $1 million to
help disadvantaged Afro Americans.
In contrast to Ebbers leadership skills were his destructive deviant behavior. Franklin Global
Communication s Alex Peters used the idiom live by the sword, die by the sword when referring
to Ebbers behavior. He orchestrated over 70 acquisitions and mergers, which was problematic as
these moves occurred so quickly that there was no time to properly integrate the new companies
into WorldCom (TreviГ±o Brown, 2005). It is also speculated that Ebbers borrowed $400 million
in loans to buy stock in WorldCom to keep investment prices high.
Ebbers influenced his subordinates to engage in deviant unethical behavior in several ways. During
one account in the assigned case study, a former executive of WorldCom recalled when stock in the
company nearly collapsed when earnings were missed by a penny. Thus, Ebbers backlashed at his
employees, which ultimately led them to believe that such shortcomings

Factors of the Increasing Trend to Consume Organic Foods
There is a growing relationship between Organic Food marketers and their consumer s base. Over
the years increased food awareness has made an impact on the way consumers are choosing their
food. Awareness relating to the use of genetically modified food sources has left some consumers
concerned for their health, and they see eating organically as a positive substitute. Researchers are
investigating what other factors and marketing techniques are affecting consumer s trends for
organic food. Through the use of social media outlets some organic famer companies are starting to
build an engaging relationship with their cliental. Organic food is making its presences known in
pop culture and may be changing the tide against dirty foods.
In order for advertising to be effective for the organic food market the advertiser first must have an
understanding of the consumer needs. In today s society there is more information available for
consumers, and this is shaping their understanding of the products they are buying. According to
the Journal of Advertising this concept seems even more prevalent because of the green market for
green products and, in particular, organic food products, where exponential growth has recently
been observed. (Ioannis, Carlson, Muehling, 2014). This would account for United States sale
growth of over 400 million dollars annually with the help of over 300 certified organic products
annually. Organic marketers do not see this trend slowing down anytime

Model Three Stages Of Kurt Lewin s Theory
The Model three stages Unfreeze, Change and Refreeze which was explained by Lewin by
changing the shape of a block of ice. He explained that if one have large cube of ice but realised
after some time that he wants a cone of ice, what to do? First, melt the ice so that is become easier
to change Unfreeze. The second step shape the iced water into the want form Changeand finally
freeze to the new form Refreeze. It is likely to take these phases to entirely complex levels yet I
don t trust this is important to have the capacity to work with the theory. Be that as it may, know
that the hypothesis has been condemned for being excessively simplified.
The method has changed a lot since the theory was initially introduced in 1947, however the Kurt
Lewin model is still to a great degree important. Many new models are actually based on Kurt
Lewin model.

This indicates that it does not serve to define the objective of planned change in group
performance as the reaching of a different level. Permanency of the new level, or permanency for a
desired period, should be included in the objective.
Lewin s concern is about emphasising the change and make sure that the desired change is
established and continued into the future. By not doing this, might force people to go back while
doing what they are used to.
Since, the Lewin s model has a definite end; I don t think that this would be adopted for Casela
World of Adventures as there are still lots of changes to come and in high speed. This model
would rather be used to set up change management for people/organisation where it is quite easy to

Socially, people began to live a religion dominated life, and experienced active sexism towards women. These changes, either positive or negative, have become an undivided part of European History. Not long King Phillip arrested Pope Boniface VIII in Italy and had foreshadowed later conflicts between the church and the state in the 14th century. The decline of church power became even more apparent during the Babylonian Captivity (1309 1376). Pope Clement V s agreement on King Philip s request of settlement in Avignon in southwestern France first signified the Pope s leadership and authority had been weakened. Furthermore, after Gregory XI s death, Urban VI (1378 1389) had been planning on church reform, but his endorsement of opposition among the hierarchy had triggered a serious of disaster. As a result, Cardinal Robert of Geneva was elected to be Pope and took the name Clement VII. The situation became two popes in office: Urban at Rome and the anti pope Clement VII at Avignon, hence marked the beginning of the Great Schism. Another major argument for not compensating college athletes is the fact that we have never done so in the past. Also, at a time of economic crisis, most Universities have other things to worry about, especially because there is no system in place currently that allows student athletes to receive money. The comparison of what student athletes get versus what they give makes it very obvious that they are exploited. Many of the athletes receive their education free, which can range from about $10,000 to more than $40,000 a year. However, college programs generate thousands more off of the athlete. Recently, the University of Notre Dame signed a five season 38 million dollar contract with NBC for its home football games (Wulf 94). If there were 100 full scholarship football players for Notre Dame, that would equal $380,000 per player just from the TV revenues, when the limit of scholarships is usually around eighty. • 21. Critical Review Of Analytical Frameworks In the past decade, language memoirs, linguistic autobiographies, and learners journals and diaries have become a popular means of data collection in applied linguistics. It is not always clear however how one should go about analyzing this data. The aim of this paper is to offer a critical review of analytical frameworks applied to how one languageautobiography can say a lot about one person s past experiences and shapes them into who they are today. I will discuss the dialect, both geographical environment and social factors, and associates within through developing, using and changing an idiolect which constitutes part of a persona and self identity of these frameworks in relation to the type of information they seek: subject reality, life reality, and text reality. I argue that some analytical results, in particular content from academic journals, are insensitive to the interpretive nature of autobiographic data. Subsequently, I will talk about my idiolect that is a collection of features of vocabulary development through parent child directed speech, neighborhood and the Hawaiian Island Voices, textism behavior with school children and academic attainment, depression and its effect on language, and gaining identity through second language learning. Language is acquired through steps, and is a gradual, lengthy process, and one that involves a lot of apparent errors . During my clinical placements I have witnessed IV therapy being administered to patients who require prescribed analgesia, antibiotics or anti emetics as well as observing patients reactions to the treatment. IV therapy can be very effective (Hyde 2002 p42) but it also carries the greatest risk of any administration route. Amoore Adamson (2003 p45) maintain that the safe administration of IV therapy requires the nurse to be skilled and knowledgeable in the use of the equipment, and to prevent any adverse incidents nurses must have up to date knowledge of the associated risks. As a student nurse I am not considered professionally accountable and I must work within my level of understanding and competence, under the direct supervision of a registered nurse (NMC guide for students 2006 p4). Nurses must have the knowledge and skills for safe and effective practice when working without direct supervision (NMC The Code 2007 p7). The Royal College of Nursing (RCN 2003 p7) states that IV therapy is a central part of a nurse s professional practice. • 24. Biblical View On Homosexuality And Religion Biblical view on Homosexuality In the bible God divinely established the institution of marriage, and this is seen in the garden of Eden during creation. Marriage was a special gift to man from a loving God before the fall that led to evil and pervasion entering the spiritual world of man. Marriage was designed by our creator to give satisfaction to a person s deepest longings for intimacy, love, appreciation and care. The views of marriage between Christians and Jews are fundamentally different and show the different ways that they view the world in relation to how they interpret their own doctrine and how these views are changing over time. According to the Christian doctrine, reasons why people get married and traditional marriages are becoming diminished at a faster rate than ever as the culture changes. This is very true for contemporary culture, law, and society. A growing influence in secular ideologies and practice are undermining biblical standards in family relations and sexual morality. Marital unfaithfulness, spousal abuse, sex before marriage, cohabitation, pornography, and promiscuity; these among other liberated lifestyles of married couples are bringing down the intuition of marriage. Moreover, alternative sexualities like homosexuality included and other varieties of transgender identities are becoming increasingly mainstream. • 25. Tort Law And Effects On Society Tort Law and Effects on Society Tort laws can be described as laws that provide a remedy to a person that has been harmed or injured by the unreasonable acts of another. Tort law plays a role in society that touches almost every single person. Tort law protects patients from wrongful acts by their physician, it provides a remedy when a company pollutes the water or air, it provides a remedy to consumers when they purchase a defective product, and it protects employees from employer negligence. Intentional Torts Intentional torts can be defined simply as intentional civil wrongdoings. The person committing the tort does not need to plan to bring harm to another, but he must be aware that his acts could have a certain result. For example, a person who throws a large rock into a large, packed crowd of people may not have wanted to hit anyone with the rock, but should know that someone will be hit and hurt. It is also important to note that an intentional tort can also be a crime. For example, a battery can be both a crime and a tort. Intentional torts can be divided into two categories, torts against the person and torts against property. Torts against a person can be battery, assault, false imprisonment, and infliction of mental distress. Torts against property can include trespass to land, trespass to chattels, and conversion. Battery is the intentional infliction of harmful or offensive contact. If the person committing battery only intends to scare another ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 29. The Structure And Function Of Endospores And Capsules Work Bacterial endospores are highly resistant structures that can withstand many forms of treatments, including heat and UV (Atrih Foster, 2002), and this characteristic is facilitated by their unique spore structure. Bacterial capsules play an important role in the virulence of bacteria for their host, and enable bacterial cells to evade host defense mechanisms and survive hostile environments. The structure and function of endospores and capsules work specifically to benefit the microbial cell; furthermore, various physiological changes occur in these structures as a result of environmental stress (Sahin, Yong, Driks, Mahadevan, 2012). The specific mechanism of these physiological changes, the types of environmental stresses that cause the changes, and how these correlate with endospore and capsular structure and function are essential to the understanding of this topic. Bacterial endospores are dormant, non reproductive, and sometimes disease causing cell structures that are typically formed in Gram positive bacteriaunder a process called sporulation. Endospores exhibit high resistance to environmental stresses, and these structures are able to resist conditions that are unfavourable to most organisms, enabling bacteria to lie dormant for extended periods of time (hundreds to thousands of years). In addition, endospores are highly durable, as dormant spores return to an actively growing state a process called germination) when nutrients return to their environment. ... The food that I use to describe as good food, I am beginning to undoubtedly recognise for the unhealthy junk that it actually is. There are countless others who also notice how horrible these foods are to feed children in school cafeterias. Today, those same cafeterias are tremendously different from the ones I remember from when I was little, and they are always continuously changing. The amount of options we are offered have not lessened, they have simply changed. Instead of having the option to purchase nachos, we now are given the option of baked fries. Also, instead of having a dessert of an innutritious brownie, we now are given a large variety of sweet fruits to choose from instead. While some students distinguish these changes as a catastrophe, I can understand the importance of having students skip dessert during a school lunch. Allowing the NSLP to regulate what is served in school lunches would help parents trust that their children would be getting healthier foods at school, help to combat the epidemic of obesity and malnutrition in the United States, and assist in educating children on healthy diet choices. The Complex And Major Organ Of Our Body Perform Essay Kidney It is a complex and major organ of our body perform several important functions like formation of urine, water and salt metabolism, acid base balance, regulation of blood calcium level and secretion of hormones (Padmalochana et al.2015). The kidney is composed of many tortuous, closely packed uriniferous tubules, bounded by a delicate connective tissue in which run blood vessels, lymphatics and nerves. Each tubule consists of two embryologically distinct parts, the nephron, which produces urine, and the collecting duct, which completes the concentration of urine and through which urine passes out into the calyces of the kidney, the renal pelvis, the ureter and urinary bladder. A renal, or uriniferous, tubule consists of a glomerular capsule that leads into a proximal convoluted tubule, connected to the capsule by a short neck and continuing into a sinuous or coiled convoluted part . • 40. Jazz, By Louis Armstrong Jazz midterm 1. Louis Armstrong is credited in the book titled Jazz as the single most important figure in the development of jazz. He is known as the only major figure in Western musical history to have a profound influence as a singer and an instrumentalist. His defining qualities as a performer were the emotion, beauty, and technical mastery he brought to each performance, and he knew how to please an audience. Performing jazz was a personal and powerful experience to him, and it was communicated effectively to his audience. Duke Ellington is quoted as calling him a truly good and original man, and his contributions to jazz music reflect that statement. Prior to Armstrong s involvement, jazz was considered an urban folk music that was closely related to ragtime and military bands. Jazz was music played by an ensemble for social functions, such as dances or funerals. Armstrong provided five major areas of innovation that progressed this music, changing how it was perceived drastically, from solely entertainment, to widely successful art music with commercial success. Armstrong s first major influence was the establishment of a blue scale and creating what is now jazz s harmonic foundation. Over this, he was free to improvise, another major contribution of his. This idea of acceptance of death proven in Hamlet s line to Horatio after being challenged to a fencing match with Laertes, if it be now, / tis not to come; if it be not to come, it will be now; / if it be not now, yet it will come. The readiness is / all. Since no man of aught he leaves knows, what / is t to leave betimes? Let be (5.2.221 225). This is an important line in the play because it shows Hamlet s acceptance of death in his own terms and everyone else s, meaning if it is supposed to happen, it will. This also shows Hamlet s acceptance of his destiny when concerning death and revenge. At the end of the play, when Hamlet is dying from the poisoned sword, he does not grieve or think of what will happen to his spirit. Instead he moves on by passing on his vote for Fortinbras and requesting that his story be passed on by Horatio (5.2.349, 356 357). This desire to move on shows the acceptance of Hamlet s faith, and the final stage of the Kubler Ross model. Throughout Shakespeare s play Hamlet, the characters clearly describe the grief they are experiencing through their poetic lines. Using the Kubler Ross model, the audience can dissect the grief process to better understand Hamlet s intentions. In the play, Hamlet experiences strong emotions concerning grief, including his examples of depression, anger, and finally, acceptance.
