Jennifer Hale
I chose to look at a strike taking place in the video game industry. Many voice actors feel that they are
not being paid enough for their services to the game making companies that they end up working for.
Jennifer Hale has played major roles in several extremely successful video game titles such as the
Halo, Mass Effect, and Bioshock series. She is part of a group known as the Screen Actors Guild
American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, also known as SAG AFTRA. This is the group
that has declared a strike against eleven different video game publishers after nineteen months of
failed negotiations regarding compensation. As mentioned above, the problem at hand has to do with
actors under the SAG AFTRA group and the large video game producers they contract with. The
workers are worried not just about compensation for their work, but also transparency upon hiring and
safety concerns on set. When asked about the situation Hale is quoted saying I have friends who have
had to have surgery because of the vocal stress they incurred in the session and they ve been out of
work for months. Currently, the actors are being paid around $800 for a four hour vocal session and
are pushing for secondary compensation. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The main thing that needs to be looked at is the amount that these voice actors are being paid for their
four hours of service. Both sides also need to determine how many games are actually going to reach
the proposed two million copies sold threshold. Another criteria factor is how many actors actually
injure themselves while voice acting. I understand four hours is a long time to be making noises,
yelling, screaming, and talking but both sides need to assess how much injury actually happens. You
also need to compare what these people are being paid to what everyone else that helps to make the
video game and see if it makes relative

California Water Rights
Water resources in the state of California have deteriorated drastically as a result of the current
drought event in the west coast of the United States. This has resulted in insufficient supplies of water
to residents of southern California, as well as the devastation of wildlife and aquatic ecosystems that
are characteristic of this area. This policy analysis will provide the context of the issue, as well as
possible solutions, followed by a proposed policy plan to reach the policy goal of equitable and
reliable water allocation in the state of California, drought resilience, as well as restoration of the
destroyed ecosystems.
Water rights policies have been an important topic throughout the history of California, as the resource

state in 1848. Water was still in short supply, and the US Bureau of Reclamation was established in
1902 in order to manage water resources in the area. During this period, water from the Sierra Nevada
Mountain Range was used extensively for residential, as well as commercial and industrial, uses
including gold mining. This was also the time during which the first water market arose as a system to
sell water to gold miners. However, in 1886, these prior appropriation rights conflicted with the
Riparian water rights policies used throughout the rest of the United States. Throughout the rest of the
country, Riparian water rights were in effect. Riparian water rights allocates water to those who own
land along the path of the waterway. This conflict resulted in a combined policy of both Riparian and
Prior Appropriation rights within the state (USCD Center for Environmental Economics). Southern
California perhaps has seen the most conflict over water than the rest of the United States. The area
surrounding Los Angeles and San Diego has virtually no fresh water source naturally and requires
irrigation from the north. These two cities have continually conflicted over water allocations from the

Analysis of the Financial and the Profitability Ratios
1. Current Ratio helps us measure the ability of a company to pay off its short term debts using its
most liquid assets. 1.5 is the benchmark. If it s less than 1 that means the company is not able to meet
its current liabilities using its liquid assets.

31/03/2008
31/03/2007
Current assets 278,200 326,100 348,200 217,000
Current Liabilities (386,800) (310,300) (271,100)
(252,900)
Current Ratio 0.90 1.05 1.03 0.86
Interpretation and Explanation
In case of BBC, we can observe a positive trend. There has been a significant increase in the ratio.
However in 2007, the company s current liabilities were higher than the current assets. But over the
next two consecutive years 2008 and 2009, the company s assets were enough to pay off the short
term debts, and this is a positive sign. Talking about the current year 2010, the current ratio is below
the benchmark, but the cash reserves are more. we can see a constant change in the values of current
assets in a positive trend for last three years, however, not for the year 2010. Again there has been
increase in current liabilities substantially. This can be one of the reasons for a funding cut of £340m
this year by BBC as George Osborne confirms the news on Oct 20th 2010.

Aboriginal People Report
I live and work in Western Sydney suburb called Warwick Farm. Warwick Farm on the other hand is a
part of Liverpool Council. So, in order to write this report, I contacted Liverpool Council as well as
Kari Aboriginal Resources Incorporated (Aboriginal community service) and Western Sydney
University Badanami Centre for Indigenous Education to receive firsthand and outright information.
The above listed institutions were very helpful, especially the individuals like Mr Tyson who
coordinates Western Sydney University Badanami Centre for Indigenous Education and Ms Martin

We (educators) need to put social clichés and stereotypes aside and provide fair, non discriminative
and welcoming environment for all children within the service (and avoiding any tokenistic
approaches). As I have discussed earlier (in the Module 3 Part 1 of this Assessment), respect for
diversity and cultural competency are key aspects of the National Quality Standards (NQS) and the
Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). Since supporting children to follow their cultural traditions
and to participate in cultural activities enhances their wellbeing and can contribute to their resilience,
social confidence and protection from prolonged isolation, emotional trauma or exclusion (EYLF:
Outcome 1 Children have a strong sense of identity Outcome 2 Children are connected with and
contribute to their world). Australian government today provides number of policies, projects and
programs to celebrate diversity and inclusion for Indigenous Australian (and other communities) (like
Aboriginal Children Support and Parent Awareness ASSPA Program, National Indigenous English
Literacy and Numeracy Strategy and Indigenous Education Ambassadors Program) (Price, 2015).

Education, Education And The Value Of Education
It is clear that colleges are starting to fall behind on teaching the basic principles that should come
with an education. It is shocking that my underlying fear of society not being taught enough to survive
in the real world is indeed true. With public education being degraded to only useless common core
principles, it is almost like society is purposely being dumbed down for the benefit of the elite. These
essays did, in fact, educate me on the valuable importance of the humanities along with STEM
education as both are beneficial when joined together. I have learned that the humanities are actually
the key to creating a well informed, educated person with the ability to think for themselves. I have
always had questions regarding the structure of education and its higher cost when I was younger,
moreover, I will say that these six essays have answered the questions I have always pondered. These
essays were beneficial in convincing me of the value of an education by answering my long awaited
question about education, convincing me of why the humanities are important alongside STEM based
learning, and that our society is on the path to a downfall if these problems involving the lack of the
humanities are not solved soon. When I first read these essays, I was regarding them with the mindset
of another assignment I would be compelled to complete as I was not taking them as seriously when I
tried reading them with the mindset of just trying to complete an assignment. However,

Excalibur Scene Analysis
Favorite Scenes (Three Favorite Scenes from The Excalibur movie) In the Excalibur movie I found
that three scenes were very interesting. In this movie the first scene that i found interesting was when
Arthur first got possession of the sword. The second scene is the scene when he broke the tip of the
sword off fighting the knight with the really buffed armor. The third scene is when they threw
excalibur into the lake and the lady of the lake caught it in her hand. I like these three scenes because
they all show how magnificent this sword is and how it has brought great power for the kingdom. In
my favorite first scene from the Excalibur movie it is when Arthur first got possession of the
excalibur. When he first got the excalibur into his hand he did not know the power of the sword and
was willing to just give it up to his brother k. When the knights announced that Arthur was king there
was many worries because he did not know what he was supposed to do. I found that amazing when a
person that everybody thought was nothing pulled the sword out of the stone and not even a big bad
knight could make the sword move in the rock. On the Excalibur movie my second favorite scene
would be when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

down the spear and cut Mordred s throat and then Arthur gave the sword to his knight that was still

knight had gone back and forth three times before he actually threw the sword and saw the lady of the

Tragic Poetic In Things Fall Apart By Chinua Achebe
Aristotle was a famous disciple of Plato who first defines fine arts and he differs with his teacher Plato
in his book of Poetic. His Poetic deals with the principles of Poetic art in general and tragedy in
particular on the basis of his analysis and the principles of his Poetic are Probability, Catharsis,
Mimesis, Tragic Hero and Hamartia. This essay will explain tragedy looking through Aristotle s tragic
principles in the book Things fall Apart by Chinua Achebe. In Aristotle s Poetic, he has mentioned the
concept of Probability which simply explains the probability that a given character will react to a
given situation is very high because of human nature. For instance in the book, Things fall Apart deals
with the tragic human consequences of the collusion of the Africa and Europe culture in Nigeria.
Protagonist of the novel, Oknokwo has tragic characters and he was considered as a strongest man in
the community in the initial of the play and when it comes to end of the play, Oknokwo suicide and
his immediate reaction is to kill himself. Suicide is a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

judgement. The misfortune of such a man will lead to downfall. In Things fall Apart, the main
protagonist Okonkwo is considered as tragic hero and he has the all the noble characters. Oknokwo
was very successful and renowned in his community. He was the leader of Ibo society and he was also
a famous wrestler and successful farmer. With these characters of successful in many ways, he was

Epistle To Cangrande By Dante Alighieri
Dante Alighieri was an Italian poet in the late Middle Ages; he developed a theory or method for
interpreting novels and poetry in his Epistle to Cangrande. The theory is referred to as Dante s Theory.
Readers can use the theory to gain a better understanding of any story. The theory has four levels with
the first being the literal or historical level. This level is what readers learn on the surface of the story,
information of real historical or geographical events. The second level contains political insight. The
political level displays how humans relate to others and how the connections between members of a
group, community, or society are affected. The third level shifts into the moral or psychological aspect
of novels; the characters ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With humans constantly interacting, readers can acquire an understanding of how humans relate to
others and how an individual s community affects his or her actions. The Tortilla Curtain
acknowledges the way one group of people reacts to another group. Delaney wanted to be accepting of
the Mexican immigrants until he actually had to interacted with one in Candido; he then fell back into
the way his people felt about Candido s people. After examining the novel on a political level readers
learn that humans are greedy and protective; Delaney s community didn t want to share anything with
Candido s community. They built a wall to keep the immigrants out of their community. They also
demolished the labor exchange to stop immigrants from being able to find work claiming it was an
experiment that didn t work (Boyles 192). Ceremony exhibited the political level of interpretation in
the sense that Native Americans have a collective conscious and white people simply don t understand
it. Silko touches again on how one group interacts with another group when Tayo is finding his place;
he isn t fully accepted by Natives because he is half white and he isn t accepted by whites because his
is half Native. Emo s hatred for Tayo results directly from the fact that Tayo is not fully Native, he s
only half. Silko also demonstrated the way white people mistreat the Native Americans and
misunderstand the Native ceremonies and events. Old Betonie explains that the Gallup Ceremonies,
organized by the white people, are good for the tourist business but they are for entertainment only
(116). The white people simply don t understand the point of the ceremonies so they use the
ceremonies to their advantage. Readers can begin to understand that each group in society thinks just a
little differently than another group. Understanding other communities or societies becomes

My First Field Experience At Milton Union High School
Ellyn Shellhaas
Syllabi Paper
I am new to the profession of education, but where I lack in experience I make up for it when it comes
to my enthusiasm and willingness to learn more. My first field experience was at Milton Union high
school, and it was also the most scared I ve ever been in the classroom. However, when I went to
Stivers School for the Arts things got even better I felt more prepared. This year I m back at Stivers
and so far everything has been good, and I really enjoy working with my cooperating teacher. This
year will be a test of my endurance and capabilities. I am up to the challenge to work with students
who are linguistically diverse, even though I know it might be difficult at times. Studying Spanish for
six years half in high school and college have given me an idea of how disorienting it is to not
understand the language. Not only is it disorienting it is also very challenging, because languages are
all unique in vocabulary and grammar structure. These experiences will become of aid to me when I m
working with ESL students in the classroom. One thing that I am excited about in the syllabi is the
Socratic Seminars on page three. We will be having one seminar each time we meet for class over the
readings that we had for homework the previous week. I am excited for these seminars, because I
appreciate the opportunity to be able to discuss with my peers about what I am reading. It gives me a
time to ask questions for further clarification, or to share

Creativity is a good skill to have in culinary, It is a good skill to have because, you want to put your

of types of relationships with each other. As the most popular ideology in ancient world, religions lead
not only how people think about the physical nature. They have also affected to how people relate to
each other through different rituals and rules. The hunka ceremony of Lakota is one of the rituals,
which builds a special kind of relationship between some people who were in the ceremony. So how

Generation In My Generation
Generations Throughout time, the people of the Gen Z, Gen X, and generations before, show
significant qualities and differ from generation to generation. A change from my generation to the past
is how we talk and have new lingo in our conversations. Also, equality for women in the work place
and at home. My generation doesn t have much of a work ethic and is very lazy when it comes to jobs.
The variance in our conversations, the equality in work place, and the laziness of my generation are a
change from the past. In conversation between Gen Z and Gen X, there are some phrases past
generations might not comprehend. Ever since phones have been around, Gen Z have changed the
language. We like to shorten all our words for example; OMG instead of oh my god, is one of the most
commonly used sayings. Another phrase frequently used is LOL, which means Laugh out loud. There
are many more examples, all of which have been created by the phone and texting. Also, Gen Z tend
to communicate more by phone or computer then talking in person, whereas the Gen X would rather
speak in person and have that face to face conversation. Gen Z uses technology to avoid talking to
someone. Witnessed every day on college campus, a student will see a teacher or fellow student
walking towards them in the hall, the student quickly seizes their phone, looks down to be distracted,
and walks right past so they don t have to engage in a conversation. With technology that has enabled

Life Expectancy
By plotting life expectancy as a function of all of these different variable, much can be gleaned about
each variables meaning and impact on life expectancy. By examining the scatterplots of these
variables and their relation to life expectancy, one is able to tell a great deal about the strength of a
relationship, the direction of the relationship, and the overall correlation of the two variables. The first
variables to look at are in the scatter plot with green dots. This shows life expectancy as a function of
healthcare resources available. There is a subtle positive direction correlation between these variables,
but it is not particularly strong as many of the data points are spread out. There are however some
clusters of data between 15 40 hospital beds, which shows that there is some correlation. The next
variable to look at is the scatter plot with blue dots. This shows life expectancy as a function of
national resources devoted to healthcare. It is clear that there is no apparent relationship between these
two variables as the data ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

longer life. Just because people pay more for healthcare does not mean they will live longer. The care
needs to be effective and not just expensive. For money spent per capita and income per capita, it is
clear that just a little more money can go a long way toward longer life expectancy. Having enough

projects will have the same sorts of risks, thus their asset betas will be approximately the same. The
returns we calculate for these firms, based on stock price movement, dividends, and stock splits, are
their equity betas.
These are influenced by the degree of leverage each company is using (recall that higher leverage
leads to higher ROE, EPS and DPS, but also leads to greater variability in earnings). Knowing the
amount of debt in their capital structures (at market values), we can calculate the asset beta for each

5 Steps to Increase CRO in Enterprise eCommerce
5 Steps to Increase CRO in Enterprise eCommerce
Improving conversion rate optimization, or CRO, ranks as one of the best strategies for generating
eCommerce revenue. The basics of eCommerce CRO in B2B markets rely on treating the process as a
journey instead of as a destination it s an ongoing process that requires gathering data, testing platform
features and analyzing the results. Each visitor to a B2B platform generates valuable data, and it s
critical not to waste this resource because it costs far less to increase CRO rates than it does to target
and land new clients. Following B2B best practices for conversions involves setting up automatic
intelligence gathering, testing the results to maximize conversion rates and feeding the improvement
process so that it evolves continuously as trends and customer habits change.
About 73 percent of online stores don t understand why customers abandon their websites and
shopping carts.[1] Businesses only spend an average of about $1 out of each $92 converting customers
while using the rest to acquire new business.[2] However, the top performing companies spend more
than 5 percent of their budgets on improving conversion rate optimization. In business to business
sales, inbound marketing conversions are even more critical due to the longer sales and approval
process. Best practices for B2B organizations include integrating intelligence gathering from multiple
data sources, testing

How Kava Is An Herb Of The Western Pacific Islands
Kava is an herb found in the western pacific islands. Kava is a sacred plant that had been used in
multiple varieties of ways, particularly ceremonially and medicinally, in the western pacific for
centuries. Kava is used to relieve anxiety, restlessness, sleeplessness, and stress related symptoms such
as muscle tension or spasm. Kava may also relieve pain . Kava comes in many forms, the traditional
one being tea, but also as a dietary supplement in powder and tincture (extract in alcohol) forms .

associated with a four fold increase in the odds of crash involvement (Odds ratio: 4.70; 95% CI: 1.90

Colombia people s army, which is a guerrilla group fighting Colombia s government. Colombia is

Based on past data, the current control limit for the organization is 99.73% for this process, with the
random selection of 16 soles over a 15 hour period for a size 10. Therefore, in order to improve
quality we must set up control limits for sample means using standard deviation. The random selection
of 16 soles we must find the overall mean to calculate its control limits.
The average length in the sample size can be determined by adding the lengths and dividing them by
the total number of samples
10+10.3+10.2+10.1+10+10+10.2+10+9.9+10+9.8+10+10.8+10.6+9.7/15=10.11
The average mean of the samples size are 10.11
Now that the average mean size has been determined, we must determine the UCL upper control
limits and the LCL lower control limits.
The UCL = x+zox= 10.375
The LCL = x zox=9.625
Based on the UCL of 10.375 and the LCL of 9.625, samples that fall out of the range are consider to
be out of control. The current Control Limits for Shoe Sole Height Samples are between 9.625 and
10.375. Some selections within the 15 hour period fall out the upper and lower control limits. The
samples are out of control within the hours of 13 and 14. . As a result, the work for hours 13 and 14

The author, Fridman, begins to form his position (defending unappreciated intellectuals) by defining
the term geek . A geek, is a street performer who entertains the public by biting off the heads of live

appalling term and society is terrible for using this term to allude an intellectually curious person is a

rights to themselves and their families are the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and the
Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA). This paper will summarize the application and

functions of their employment (Alexander Hartman, 2007, 299).
Upon complete satisfaction of all FMLA requirements, employers have the responsibility to provide
up to 12 weeks of unpaid leave to eligible employees. The single most important responsibility
employers have in regards to FMLA is to ensure that employees come back to the same position or
one of equivalent pay and task. Employers have the responsibility to ensure employees can take
necessary time off from work to take care of their families or themselves and not worry about whether
they will have a job to come back to after their leave expires.
The Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) was written into law in December 29, 1970 by
President Richard Nixon. OSHA was created to ensure safe and healthful working conditions for all
employees and to preserve the human resources. Prior to OSHA, workers had no way of protecting
themselves from the daily dangers and hazards present in high risk and low risk occupations. OSHA
claims the act has helped cut occupational related fatalities by more then 60 percent and injury and
illness rates by 40 percent since 1971 (Alexander Hartman, 2007, 692).

Examples Of Manifest Destiny
Manifest destiny was a term used to describe the belief that United States settlers were destined to
expand across the nation. This concept not only affected American politics and government but the
public also. One of the first major examples of manifest destiny in the nineteenth century was Thomas
Jefferson s purchase of the Louisiana Territory. President Jefferson wanted to shrink the size of the
government and only use limited powers. However, his decision utilized a tremendous amount of
executive power, in which Federalists felt that he was wasting taxpayer money and abusing his
authority. Eventually, Jefferson believed that what he was doing was right because it would double the
size of the US for expansion. The Louisiana Purchase in 1803 drove both the population and the
economy to the west. Another example of manifest destiny in the United States was the Indian
Removal Act by President Andrew Jackson, which authorized him to reserve land west of the
Mississippi and exchange it for Native American land east of the Mississippi. Manifest destiny in the

This essay will focus on how Robert Louis Stevenson presents the nature of evil through his novel The

the two different sides of a character or scene, allegories, an extended metaphor which has an
underlying moral significance, and hypocrisy; in this book the Victorians being against all things evil

The Persecution And Assassination Of Jean Paul Marat
In The Persecution and Assassination of Jean Paul Marat as Performed by the Inmates of the Asylum
of Charenton under the Direction of the Marquis De Sade, Peter Weiss placed a historic revolutionary
setting inside of a chaotic insane asylum. Sex and violence dominate revolution, madness blends with
reason, and political ideologies battle head to head while the plot unfolds. Marat/Sade focuses on a
play authored by the Marquis de Sade inside of the play itself. Weiss, writing in the voice of Sade,
could not ignore the sexual perversions of the historical figure, which allowed for the shocking
violence and sexualization that can be found within the play. Under the inflated political rhetoric
among the two leading ideologists, Jean Paul Marat and the Marquis de Sade, the story is one about
the French Revolution. Specifically, Marat/Sade tells the story of the murder of Marat by Charlotte
Corday.
Sade s characterization of Corday as the sexualized female begins with the Herald s introduction of
her. His description predominately includes her physical features. Her phenomenally pulchritudinous
appearance includes stylish shoes and a cloth around her neck. Only a thin veil covers her otherwise
exposed breasts. These images appear in the first introduction of Corday and create conflict for the
woman portraying her, as well as affect Sade s character of Corday in her carrying out of the plot to
kill Marat. However, the effect on the latter is not a negative one. The sexual

DeLillo critiques contemporary society s over dependence on false images. The characters in the novel

Government As A Market Economy
1.What do you think about the role of government in a market economy? Do you think government
should intervene in a market economic system? Why? Explain.
The government plays a critical role in a market economy, for it establishes the strategies of providing
key services, redistribution, regulation and subdivision. Concerning provision, the government plays
the role of providing public goods and services such as national security, which is imperative for a
stable economy. Within the American economy for example, the Lorenz curve provided information
towards the existence of unequal distribution of income. By carrying out redistribution therefore, the
government will be making distribution of income and other important resources less unequal
(Gregory et al, 2004). By carrying out regulation within a market economy, the government will be
setting grounds for a free and fair market, which is the foundation upon which a stable economy
operates. Over and above, I harbor the perception that the government should intervene in a market
economic system, for such a strategy guarantees that, the ideal monetary and fiscal policies are in
place to prevent the market from fluctuations.

Themes Of The American Dream In A Raisin In The Sun
In Lorraine Hansberry s play, A Raisin in the Sun, she addresses the American dream as obtainable if
you work hard and fight for it. The three main Characters have different views of the American dream,
which is a conflict between them all. The Character Mama a new home of her own, Beneatha wants to
go to medical school and Walter Lee sees owning business his American dream. Mama, Walter Lee
and Beneatha are three strong characters in conflict, all trying to define the American dream. In the
end despite Walter losing most of the money they must come together to ensure that all dreams of a
better life does not die. Realizing that respect and pride for self and family is the true American
Dream. What happens to a dream deferred? (Hughes) Ruth Younger says to Mama, Well, Lord knows,
we ve put enough rent into this here rat trap to pay for four houses by now... Mama looks around with
a smile and sarcastically agrees. Mama explains to Ruth about the day her and Big Walter moved in.
They had only planned to stay in the small apartment for a year. They had dreams of saving for and
buying a home of their own. Lena Younger (Mama) gives an account of the dreams that her and Big
Walter had when they where a newly married couple. She is saddened by the reality that she and Big
Walter s dreams never happen. Hansberry changes the mood to one of regret. Mama gives a gripping
account of the kind of person Big Walter was. He was a hard working, hard headed mean man that
was wild with woman. He loved his children and wanted them to do something and be something.
With his dreams never coming true and him realizing they would never come true he had hopes that
his children were the key to making all his dreams worthwhile. Seems like God didn t see fit to give
the black man nothing but dreams But he did give us children to make then dreams seem worthwhile.
Mama quoting Big Walter s view on dreams in this scene show how important it is to Mama to buy the
home that her and Big Walter wanted to buy. Does it dry up? Like a Raisin in the Sun? (Hughes) Or

The Olympic Games Of Ancient Greek Athletics
Stephen G. Miller, an expert Yale professor in the field of Ancient Greek athletics states that the
Olympics were held in honor of Zeus in the city of Olympia (Miller). The element of religion is
evident in this historical event. Many people have heard of the concepts of the Greek Gods, but this
level of religious involvement is interesting. These games were held for four days every fourth
summer , a tradition that partially continues to this day (Miller). Many festivals in ancient Greece
were dedicated to the Gods (Miller). In addition to the Olympic Games, there were also other athletic
festivals which included the Pythian Games at Delphi, the Isthmian at Corinth, and the Nemean at
Argos (Miller). However, the Olympics at Olympia were the oldest and most prestigious of the four
great ancient Greek athletic festivals. The height of the Olympic Games occurs between the fifth and
fourth centuries B.C. During this period, the games became more and more professionalized until they
provoked much censure during the Roman period (Miller). This is somewhat similar to the present day
games where the competitors are supposed to be amateurs, but many are professionals at their craft.
Take for example the United States basketball squad. For decades this team has consisted of the best
professionals the country has to offer. This is still a tradition, or problem, the games experience today.
The Greek games were very nationalistic and it is said that states were said to have

The Full Accounting Cycle And Present A Quick Synopsis Of...
The purpose of this paper is to discuss the full accounting cycle and present a quick synopsis of all of
the steps along with a brief description on how it can impact a business s success. The role of each
step and why each step is critical in this process will also be explained. The omission of a step, no
matter how small, could negatively impact the financial security of a business. The four basic financial
statements and why they are important will be the final segment in discussing the full accounting
cycle.
The point of the accounting cycle is to gather all financial information for a company within a certain
period of time and additionally at the end of a period to finalize all account amounts. The cycle starts
with the beginning ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These adjusted entries will now be journalized and the preparation for the adjusted trial balance
begins. The adjusted trial balance has the balances of expenses and revenues and the amounts for all
equities, assets, and liabilities. The financial statements are now ready to be prepared after completing
the adjusted trial balance. The financial statements are a formal representation of the financial success
and position of the business and shows how this position has grown or depleted over time. Now you
will journalize and post the closing entries. These entries are created at the end of the specific
accounting period and transfers the account balances of temporary accounts to permanent accounts.
Last but not least, you will prepare the post closing trial balance. This is the process in which you list
all accounts and balances in the closing of an accounting period; these items listed will only be
permanent accounts. The purpose of preparing a post closing trial balance is to be certain that all
balances of debits and credits are equal in order for the next accounting cycle to begin effectively and
efficiently. Each step plays a vital role in a business s success. If one step is miscalculated, then all
steps proceeding will have incorrect values. The entire process will need to be recalculated if this error
were to occur. Accurately journalizing every account certifies the

Women s Rights Socially, Economically, And Politically
Throughout history mistakes are made, tragic events occur, and wars arise. As a result, people
document these events, write stories, or simply express their emotions. In particular, this can be seen
in many American movements such as Romanticism in which people believed logic and reason can
only get one so far. As time passed these movements became a thing of the past and are seen irrelevant
in today s modern age. However, one movement that is still relevant today is the advancement or
support of women s rights socially, economically, and politically. For instance, three texts that still tie
with Feminism today is April Showers, A Journey, and Fullness of Life. In April Showers, the author
illustrates the many difficulties a woman undergoes attempting to support her family by being a writer.
Furthermore, in A Journey, it depicts the hardships a woman encounters when she is forced to accept
the unknown. Lastly, in the story Fullness of Life, it displays a woman meeting her destined partner in
the afterlife, which leads her to realize that what she wanted is not what she needed and as a result, she
decides to wait for her husband leaving her destined partner. Overall these works still demonstrate the
cruelties and unfairness that females endure in America today. Therefore the most relevant American
author today is Edith Wharton because her work still reflects women s oppression in the workplace,
their struggle to be completely independent and be thoroughly understood by

The Ill Treatment Of Native Indians
In A Short History of Indians in Canada, Thomas King explores, for the most part, the ill treatment of
Native Indians in Canada. Two satires by the names of Coyote and the Enemy Aliens and Tidings of
Comfort and Joy, focus on the arrogance of the White men and how their actions affected the society
of Native Indians. Specifically, this essay discusses how their actions contributed to the
dehumanization of Native Indians. This concept of Dehumanization is explored through the hypocrisy
on what is legal and illegal according to the White men, the Native Indians enslaved and treated like
wild animals and reduced to being mere possessions of their White masters .
Firstly, in both these short stories there is a hypocritical view on what is ... Show more content on

Through this quote it is clear that this paper is a legal document that entitles the Coyote to all the
properties of the Japanese Canadians. Is the job more important than being fair? I says (p 56). King
once again emphasizes that even though this document is legal and written in the book of law, it isn t
morally correct as it strips the Japanese Canadians of their basic human rights. The narrator then goes
on to question whether or not the White men are doing the right thing regardless of what the law
states. In Tidings of Comfort and Joy, Hudson who represents the White man has an obsession of
gathering Indians as collectibles, a form of enslavement which is legally allowed however once again
is not morally correct. The text states, And while most everyone had since moved to newer
enthusiasms such as exotic pets, rain forest acreages and internet stocks, Hudson stayed the course and
had, over the years, put together one of the more impressive collections of Indians east of Saskatoon
(p 6 7). This quote ridiculously defends Hudson s obsession of collecting Indians who are humans as
being morally correct, compared to other not so strange obsessions making it seem like a rational thing
to do. Through this quote, King emphasizes that the sole purpose of objectification of Native Indians
in this short story is to be collectible items that can be stored and used as possessions. It had been fun
playing with the Indians, placing them around

  • 2. Jennifer Hale I chose to look at a strike taking place in the video game industry. Many voice actors feel that they are not being paid enough for their services to the game making companies that they end up working for. Jennifer Hale has played major roles in several extremely successful video game titles such as the Halo, Mass Effect, and Bioshock series. She is part of a group known as the Screen Actors Guild American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, also known as SAG AFTRA. This is the group that has declared a strike against eleven different video game publishers after nineteen months of failed negotiations regarding compensation. As mentioned above, the problem at hand has to do with actors under the SAG AFTRA group and the large video game producers they contract with. The workers are worried not just about compensation for their work, but also transparency upon hiring and safety concerns on set. When asked about the situation Hale is quoted saying I have friends who have had to have surgery because of the vocal stress they incurred in the session and they ve been out of work for months. Currently, the actors are being paid around $800 for a four hour vocal session and are pushing for secondary compensation. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I understand four hours is a long time to be making noises, yelling, screaming, and talking but both sides need to assess how much injury actually happens. You also need to compare what these people are being paid to what everyone else that helps to make the video game and see if it makes relative ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This has resulted in insufficient supplies of water to residents of southern California, as well as the devastation of wildlife and aquatic ecosystems that are characteristic of this area. This policy analysis will provide the context of the issue, as well as possible solutions, followed by a proposed policy plan to reach the policy goal of equitable and reliable water allocation in the state of California, drought resilience, as well as restoration of the destroyed ecosystems. This was also the time during which the first water market arose as a system to sell water to gold miners. However, in 1886, these prior appropriation rights conflicted with the Riparian water rights policies used throughout the rest of the United States. Throughout the rest of the country, Riparian water rights were in effect. Riparian water rights allocates water to those who own land along the path of the waterway. This conflict resulted in a combined policy of both Riparian and Prior Appropriation rights within the state (USCD Center for Environmental Economics). • 8. Education, Education And The Value Of Education It is clear that colleges are starting to fall behind on teaching the basic principles that should come with an education. It is shocking that my underlying fear of society not being taught enough to survive in the real world is indeed true. With public education being degraded to only useless common core principles, it is almost like society is purposely being dumbed down for the benefit of the elite. These essays did, in fact, educate me on the valuable importance of the humanities along with STEM education as both are beneficial when joined together. I have learned that the humanities are actually the key to creating a well informed, educated person with the ability to think for themselves. I have always had questions regarding the structure of education and its higher cost when I was younger, moreover, I will say that these six essays have answered the questions I have always pondered. These essays were beneficial in convincing me of the value of an education by answering my long awaited question about education, convincing me of why the humanities are important alongside STEM based learning, and that our society is on the path to a downfall if these problems involving the lack of the humanities are not solved soon. In this movie the first scene that i found interesting was when Arthur first got possession of the sword. The second scene is the scene when he broke the tip of the sword off fighting the knight with the really buffed armor. The third scene is when they threw excalibur into the lake and the lady of the lake caught it in her hand. I like these three scenes because they all show how magnificent this sword is and how it has brought great power for the kingdom. When he first got the excalibur into his hand he did not know the power of the sword and was willing to just give it up to his brother k. The Tortilla Curtain acknowledges the way one group of people reacts to another group. Delaney wanted to be accepting of the Mexican immigrants until he actually had to interacted with one in Candido; he then fell back into the way his people felt about Candido s people. After examining the novel on a political level readers learn that humans are greedy and protective; Delaney s community didn t want to share anything with Candido s community. They built a wall to keep the immigrants out of their community. They also demolished the labor exchange to stop immigrants from being able to find work claiming it was an experiment that didn t work (Boyles 192). Ceremony exhibited the political level of interpretation in the sense that Native Americans have a collective conscious and white people simply don t understand it. Silko touches again on how one group interacts with another group when Tayo is finding his place; he isn t fully accepted by Natives because he is half white and he isn t accepted by whites because his is half Native. Emo s hatred for Tayo results directly from the fact that Tayo is not fully Native, he s only half. Silko also demonstrated the way white people mistreat the Native Americans and misunderstand the Native ceremonies and events. Old Betonie explains that the Gallup Ceremonies, organized by the white people, are good for the tourist business but they are for entertainment only (116). This concept not only affected American politics and government but the public also. One of the first major examples of manifest destiny in the nineteenth century was Thomas Jefferson s purchase of the Louisiana Territory. President Jefferson wanted to shrink the size of the government and only use limited powers. Marat/Sade focuses on a play authored by the Marquis de Sade inside of the play itself. Weiss, writing in the voice of Sade, could not ignore the sexual perversions of the historical figure, which allowed for the shocking violence and sexualization that can be found within the play. Under the inflated political rhetoric among the two leading ideologists, Jean Paul Marat and the Marquis de Sade, the story is one about the French Revolution. Specifically, Marat/Sade tells the story of the murder of Marat by Charlotte Corday. Sade s characterization of Corday as the sexualized female begins with the Herald s introduction of her. The government plays a critical role in a market economy, for it establishes the strategies of providing key services, redistribution, regulation and subdivision. Concerning provision, the government plays the role of providing public goods and services such as national security, which is imperative for a stable economy. Within the American economy for example, the Lorenz curve provided information towards the existence of unequal distribution of income. By carrying out redistribution therefore, the government will be making distribution of income and other important resources less unequal (Gregory et al, 2004). By carrying out regulation within a market economy, the government will be setting grounds for a free and fair market, which is the foundation upon which a stable economy operates. Over and above, I harbor the perception that the government should intervene in a market economic system, for such a strategy guarantees that, the ideal monetary and fiscal policies are in place to prevent the market from fluctuations. 2.What are the proprietorship business organizations and corporations? Miller, an expert Yale professor in the field of Ancient Greek athletics states that the Olympics were held in honor of Zeus in the city of Olympia (Miller). The element of religion is evident in this historical event. Many people have heard of the concepts of the Greek Gods, but this level of religious involvement is interesting. These games were held for four days every fourth summer , a tradition that partially continues to this day (Miller). Many festivals in ancient Greece were dedicated to the Gods (Miller). In addition to the Olympic Games, there were also other athletic festivals which included the Pythian Games at Delphi, the Isthmian at Corinth, and the Nemean at Argos (Miller). • 44. Women s Rights Socially, Economically, And Politically Throughout history mistakes are made, tragic events occur, and wars arise. As a result, people document these events, write stories, or simply express their emotions. In particular, this can be seen in many American movements such as Romanticism in which people believed logic and reason can only get one so far. As time passed these movements became a thing of the past and are seen irrelevant in today s modern age. However, one movement that is still relevant today is the advancement or support of women s rights socially, economically, and politically. For instance, three texts that still tie with Feminism today is April Showers, A Journey, and Fullness of Life. In April Showers, the author illustrates the many difficulties a woman undergoes attempting to support her family by being a writer. Furthermore, in A Journey, it depicts the hardships a woman encounters when she is forced to accept the unknown. Lastly, in the story Fullness of Life, it displays a woman meeting her destined partner in the afterlife, which leads her to realize that what she wanted is not what she needed and as a result, she decides to wait for her husband leaving her destined partner. • 45. The Ill Treatment Of Native Indians In A Short History of Indians in Canada, Thomas King explores, for the most part, the ill treatment of Native Indians in Canada. Two satires by the names of Coyote and the Enemy Aliens and Tidings of Comfort and Joy, focus on the arrogance of the White men and how their actions affected the society of Native Indians. Specifically, this essay discusses how their actions contributed to the dehumanization of Native Indians. This concept of Dehumanization is explored through the hypocrisy on what is legal and illegal according to the White men, the Native Indians enslaved and treated like wild animals and reduced to being mere possessions of their White masters . Firstly, in both these short stories there is a hypocritical view on what is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Through this quote it is clear that this paper is a legal document that entitles the Coyote to all the properties of the Japanese Canadians. Is the job more important than being fair? I says (p 56). King once again emphasizes that even though this document is legal and written in the book of law, it isn t morally correct as it strips the Japanese Canadians of their basic human rights. The narrator then goes on to question whether or not the White men are doing the right thing regardless of what the law states. In Tidings of Comfort and Joy, Hudson who represents the White man has an obsession of gathering Indians as collectibles, a form of enslavement which is legally allowed however once again is not morally correct. The text states, And while most everyone had since moved to newer enthusiasms such as exotic pets, rain forest acreages and internet stocks, Hudson stayed the course and had, over the years, put together one of the more impressive collections of Indians east of Saskatoon (p 6 7). This quote ridiculously defends Hudson s obsession of collecting Indians who are humans as being morally correct, compared to other not so strange obsessions making it seem like a rational thing to do. Through this quote, King emphasizes that the sole purpose of objectification of Native Indians in this short story is to be collectible items that can be stored and used as possessions. It had been fun playing with the Indians, placing them around ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
