Barriers and Disparities in Health Care

Barriers and Disparities in Health Care
Everyone should have the opportunity to achieve a healthy life and have comprehensive health
care services available to them. To achieve this healthy life, people need to have access to the
health care system and to a health care provider with whom they can develop a trusting relationship.
However, existing barriers to attaining health care services often lead to disparities which in turn
lead to differences in life expectancy, health status and a higher prevalence of certain chronic
diseases (HealthyPeople.gov, 2012).
Barriers
Barriers to health care can be defined as conditions that can ... Show more content on

With the increasing immigrant population a third barrier affecting access to health care is a
cultural barrier. Culture barriers can include values and beliefs, language and race and ethnicity.
Health beliefs and behavior can become a barrier when patients decide not to seek medical
treatment and instead turn to home remedies and healers when treating illnesses. Approximately
10% of Americans speak a language other than English and can be classified ad being limited in
their proficiency. For these patients language becomes a barrier and they are less likely to receive
optimal medical treatment (Flores, 2006). Horton and Johnson (2010) stress the importance of
communication in reducing disparities and increasing the trust of patients in the health care system.
As reported by the American College of Physicians, evidence reveals that racial and ethnic
minorities are more likely to receive inferior care when compared with non minorities. This occurs
even when minorities have access to insurance and adequate income (Racial and ethnic disparities
in health care, 2010).
Disparities
Barriers in health care can lead to disparities in meeting health needs and receiving appropriate care,
including preventive services and the prevention of unnecessary hospitalizations
(HealthyPeople.gov, 2012). In their 2008 annual report, the Agency for Healthcare Research and
Quality lists several disparities in health care. They report that racial and ethnic minorities in the

Buffa s Dance Studio Analysis
Anyone who has heard of the show Dance Moms, may cringe at the statement, I ve grown up in a
dance studio. However, I can attest to the fallacy of that sentiment.
When I was eight years old, I enrolled in my first of countless dance classes at Buffa s Dance
Studio. Eight years later, the studio director offered me a job. This opportunity soon developed
into far more than the typical employment available to teenagers. Working side by side the studio
owner, I spent copious hours reorganizing the studio, teaching classes, and developing
innumerable spreadsheets to allow for easy tracking of the myriad details: annual registration of
500+ dancers, orders for thousands of costumes and the production of six recitals, complete with
lighting, sound, and special effects. In addition to working for the studio, I assisted in the yearly
production of The Nutcracker performances, staged through their non profit organization, Burke
Civic Ballet. The first several months of the year were dedicated to hours spent at weekly
rehearsals, as well as hundreds of hours planning fundraising events, organizing parent volunteers,
and developing a thirty page program to be used at the weekend s performance. ... Show more

The Development Of Emotional Regulation
The development of emotional regulation begins during early infancy and we believe that children
temperament, behaviours and attitude will carry through their life. When we look deeply about
how the self regulation develop and how it s impact on the children emotional regulation. Studying
of emotional regulation, especially on infancy and toddlers is to consider the process of their early
brain development relevant to emotional regulation, the influence of the temperament, social
development based on the peer relationship (Benson Haith, 2009). Emotional regulation is concern
of different emotional experience on the individual person, it is unique and can be change on the
different purpose and situations. Emotional regulation also consists of self controlling on the
emotional behaviours, evaluating the personal feeling and strategies of modifying the other feeling.
Emotional regulation is also the set of personal goal of managing the self emotional feeling (Benson
Haith, 2009).
Lack of Emotional regulation could face on the difficulties on the children life and could be risk of
psychological issues.
The definition of emotional regulation is generally confusing, due to the different concern of the
different area of the research study. Study were based on the measure and embedded with the
theoretical approaches. The decisions were based on the measure of emotion coded and data

The Use Of Pesticides And Growth Hormone
Sara Richards Professor Phil 305 Intro: With the world s population continuing to increase, the
demand for food is higher than ever. A growing population means more demand on food. The
world population will rise to 9.3 billion in 2050 and surpass 10 billion by the end of this century.
(Sanyal) This should say something about our growing population that is still continuing to grow
to this day. This increase in food demand also calls for more efficient ways of growing and
providing food without causing any damage to our environment or our health. Two methods that
can be effective for this demand are the organic and conventional method. Decision: Its unethical
for conventional farmers to use of pesticides and growth hormone to multiply their products faster
and bigger than organic farmers. Meanwhile while these conventional farmers make millions in
their products, millions of people are deprived from a healthy diet by choosing to support organic
farmers. The reason against the Claim: The influence conventional farmers have on consumers.
While many people want to support the organic method because of its known benefits but they
also feel that it is just another way to cheat consumers out of their money. However, studies have
proven that conventional fruits, vegetables, and even drinks are cheaper than organic. With the
world population growing larger and larger we need efficient way to provide food for everyone
with reasonable price. Even though it is more efficient to

The Effects Of Divorce On Our Society
The United States is a country that takes pride in the fact that no matter what religion, race or
sex you are you can join together in the unity of marriage. Many people dream of growing up
and marrying the love of their life and having a family, but they do not take into consideration
there are 2.3 million marriages a year, with over 1.2 million divorces ( The Impact of Divorceon Our
Society ). Divorce is not limited to breaking apart the husband and wife; it destroys families,
siblings and the future of the American children. Divorces cause money, crime and education issues
and an overall effect on the children caught in the middle, which follows them into their adult life.
A $1,000 of taxpayer s money is spent dealing with the consequences of broken families ( The
Impact of Divorce on Our Society ). The amount of money spent in divorce procedures and in
the long run is astronomical. From divorce lawyers to child support, there is no denying this
bonus part of life is expensive. It impacts families as well as tax payers and the government. The
median household net worth is $132,000 for marrieds, $35,000 for singles, and $33,670 for
divorced individuals ( The Impact of Divorce on Our Society ). If people get married, they have a
far better chance to earn a comfortable living, but they have to stay together. If not, the taxpayers
and government have to pay consequences for divorces. If people took the time to make sure their
partner was for life, then the expense would

Despite her dad s confession of her struggles, Sarah replies by asking Are you gonna tell me that
you re gonna dress up as a lady every day now? (Transparent, Season 1, Episode 2). While the
subsequent loving interaction between the father daughter duo showcases Sarah s support for her
dad s journey, Sarah s thought that transgender people simply want to dress up like a lady
showcases how she believes that transgender people s wishes are to cross dress and not be actually
a different gender. The conflict between Sarah s want to support her father s journey and her lack
of understanding of the transgender community helps to reflect that in society if people are not
aware of the transgender people s journey, then it will be difficult for even those with the best of
heart to help and be supportive of transgender people s plight. Through Soloway s highlighting of
the general lack of knowledge of how to accept transgender individuals in society, she is able to
advocate for change in society to be more accepting and raise awareness for the transgender people
s plight.
Sarah can be seen bravely standing up for her father s rights helps to showcase the importance of
raising awareness for the transgender community and the importance of being an ally for
transgender rights. During a shopping trip Maura s shopping trip with Sarah and Ali, the three of

The Controversy Surrounding The Church Essay
Leithart begins this book by talking about the controversy surrounding the church in the 4th
century. Athanasius, a young man brought up in a pagan household, was taught to fear the Lord
from a man named Alexander from a young age. Athanasius main opponent during his lifetime was
to discount Arianism, a heresy that tried to propose the subordination of the Son to the Father, a
view that outright denied the eternal generation of the Son, making Jesusless than God. The Arians
believed that the Father exists prior to the Son, since the Son is not eternal, that is, not timelessly
self subsistent to the Father. This is to say that the Father does not eternally generate the Son, but
instead came into being at a certain point in history, a blatant heresy that was corrected by
Athanasius and the Church council in the 4th century.
Athanasius believed that Jesus was shepherd, high priest...Passover Sacrafice, which manifests
itself now in the living incarnate son of Jesus Christ. Jesus is unique, however, in the fact that he is
the all sustaining high priest without transition and without succession. Athanasius also believed
that Jesus is eternally generated by the father, and that Jesus, along with the father, is unoriginate,
from alpha to omega. Leithart states that the Arians dishonor God by describing Jesus as originate,
while Athanasius equates Jesus with God and the Holy Spirit in the Holy Trinity. There are four
primary paradigms that Athanasius finds in

Executive Compensation
EXECUTIVE COMPENSATION
1.HOW IS IT DETERMINED?
Executive compensation generally consists of a mix of four components:
Annual Base Salary
Annual Incentive or bonus plans tied to short term performance measures.
Long Term Incentives consisting in a mix of restricted stocks, stocks options and other long term
performance plans tied to shareholder return or financial performance.
Benefits plans.
As a rule of thumb, the base salary constitutes 30% of total compensation, the annual incentive
another 20%, the benefits about 10% and long term incentives or the wealth creation portion of the
compensation about 40%. Indeed, before the financial crisis, there was a lot of board attention to

Executives can trade for entirely legitimate reasons, such as to raise money to meet a tax bill or
simply to diversify. But of course they must avoid trading on nonpublic information, and that can
lead to sticky situations, since executives do possess just such information much of the time.
Regulatory efforts to find a way around this conundrum and allow executives to trade, a Wall
Street Journal analysis suggests, are so flawed they have left a confusing landscape that can both
raise suspicions about trades that are innocent, and provide cover for others that are less so.
Trading by specific insiders, such as employees, is commonly permitted as long as it does not rely
on material information not in the public domain. However most jurisdictions require such trading
be reported so that these can be monitored. In the United States and several other jurisdictions,
trading conducted by corporate officers, key employees, directors, or significant shareholders must
be reported to the regulator or publicly disclosed, usually within a few business days of the trade.
5.SHOULD SHAREHOLDERS HAVE MORE SAY?
Proposals that shareholders should have a greater direct say over managerial remuneration have
been a by product of the concerns expressed. debate on this point, however, has been largely
speculative.

The Interesting Narrative Of The Life Of Olaudah Equiano,...
I have chosen to focus my research around slaves being treated as sub humans in the Middle
Passage. After reading the works of James Sweet and Katrina Thompson, it is evident that the
slaves were treated as commodities, rather than human beings. My research will center on the book
The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano by Olaudah Equiano, in which the author
recounts his experience as a slave going through the Middle Passage. Other works such as Ring
Shout, Wheel About The Racial Politics of Music and Dance in North American Slavery, by Katrina
Thompson, and Domingos ГЃlvares, African Healing, and the Intellectual History of the Atlantic
World, by James Sweet, can help us garner a deeper insight as to the experiences of Olaudah
Equiano by analyzing similar instances from a different rhetorical standpoint.
The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano is a particularly interesting object
because it is primary, in that he is telling us, in the first person, about his own experiences. He
was a slave in Virginia for a short period of time, but the majority of Equiano s life as a slave was
serving the captains of slave ships and British navy vessels. Following his life journey can allow
us to trace his experiences and thoughts that may not be reported by the conductors of the slave
trade where the majority of information on the slave trade comes from. Referring to his
transatlantic voyage to Virginia to become a slave, Equiano notes that [the

Are Different Forms Of Discipline More Useful Or Harmful...
Discipline is an act by which children learn standards of acceptable behavior and repercussions
that they can apply towards greater independence. Although verbal discipline is generally
recognized as being more appropriate for children, it may also carry emotionally damaging
effects if practiced irresponsibly. Physical discipline is seen to be an unacceptable solution,
because of the physical and emotional risks to the child. The goal of effective discipline is to
ensure acceptable and appropriate behavior in children and to raise mature adults who will make
great decisions in life. So, are physical and verbal forms of discipline more helpful or harmful to
children?
Discipline is a word that many people including adults and children do not fully understand. Kids
see discipline as punishment when they are told that they are bad or if they receive physical harm.
Punishment can be positive when there is an added behavior, or negative when there is a behavior
that is taken away. For example, a positive form of punishment is if a parent gives a child his or her
favorite snack in order for them to remember to use the phrases please and thank you in their
everyday language. A negative punishment is if a child misbehaves in school and get his or her
toys taken away. On the contrary, discipline is about guiding and teaching children so that they will
make good decisions and learn to control themselves. Discipline offers the child an opportunity to
do the right thing, and it

Rhode Island Hospital Meeting Summary
On December 8, 2015 I attended a meeting at Rhode Island Hospital with Lou Sperling,
Matthew Taibi and Matthew Maini concerning the Trustees resolution to develop a RFP for EAP

proposed combining EAP services with the broader responsibilities of a member advocate, who
would have Social Work skills. Matt Maini agreed. The Trustees agreed the duties would be
regional in scope rather than limited to Rhode Island. Lou indicated that the RIHEAP Program

Examples Of Homerun Of A Role Model
A Homerun of a Role Model
Have you ever had someone that you look up to? Well, most people in the world do have role
models. Whether it is a family member, a friend, or just a great person, role models are
phenomenal things for people to have. Role models can help you strive for greatness, or make
you yearn to be an overall better person. One individual that I look up to is Derek Jeter because he
lived a life full of adversity, he attacks challenges with ferocity, and he performs under intense
pressure. Many people have lived hard lives and gone on to greatness. This is definitely the case
with Derek Jeter. The first reason that Derek Jeter is my role model is because he lived a life full
of adversity. Derek s mother was white, while his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
No matter how much pressure you put on him, he will never break down or falter. The third and
final reason why I admire Jeter is he performs well under tremendous pressure. When D.J. was
brought up from the minors, he was chosen to wear number two. This is very symbolic in the
Yankee organization. The Yankees only gave these low numbers to the players who were
supposed to be exceptional. This meant that Derek was to follow in the footsteps of Babe Ruth,
Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, and Mickey Mantle. These expectations made him very nervous, but
Jeter still performed extraordinarily. The other reason that D.J. is under tremendous pressure is
because he plays on the most recognized sports franchise in history. No matter what he does, he
s under a ton of scrutiny. A third reason that he s under this pressure is that not only is Derek a
player on the Yankee, but he is actually there team captain. Being the captain of the New York
Yankees is the hardest job available in sports. You don t have any room for a single mistake. This is
the last reason why D.J. is my role model. Over the course of his prolific MLB career, Derek Jeter
has silenced a lot of critics and made a lot of people realize that you don t have to be born with
talent to make something with your life. I feel honored that I am alive during the life of this great
player. Derek Jeter is my role model because he lived a life full of adversity, he attacks challenges

Imagery In The Masque Of The Red Death
In the writing The Masque of the Red Death by Edgar Allan Poe, we see how one disease, the
Red Death, is fatal and ruining an entire kingdom. Prince Prospero doesn t seem to care about
the chaos happening to his subjects. He hosted a marvelous event with all his favourite kings
and ladies and once the last guest arrived, he welded the door shut. After 6 months he hosts a
masquerade ball. Poe shows us that imagery and theme can be used to prove that phantasm can
be beautiful and ugly. The author created very detailed imagery that made it feel like a
beautifully dreary dream. The masquerade is imagery because he is describing in almost dream
like detail of what is going on around him. Here shown by There were arabesque figures with
unsuited limbs and appointments. There were delirious fancies such as the madman fashions (Poe
7). Using words like arabesque, and unsuited limbs, we see that people are dancing. Whilst they are
untrained, and not deserving of performing such advanced moves, they are dancing... Show more

among the knights and dames of his court, and with these retired to the deep seclusion of one of

Essay on Heroes in Western Film
Heroes in Western Film
In the genre of western films, the hero plays a key role. Humanity portrays civilization overcoming
the hostile country (Miller 66). In many films the American civil war is over, and people have
turned their attention to more constructive pursuits. Battling nature to progress America s future,
rather than each other. In between this wild country, fraught with danger and corruption lies the
role of the hero. A hero is an individual with exceptional skills and through his abilities is able to
rid a stricken town of the corrupt elements within. In many cases however, the hero s skills are not
enough. His relationship with the community can define how successful his help can be.
In the films Shane and Dodge City we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is for this reason he is incensed to defend the community from Ryker (Emile Meyer). He has
become personally involved with creating a community that he wishes to continue to see flourish;
even if his choice dictates that he has to leave in order to succeed.
Wade Hatton, (Errol Flynn) in Dodge City, is a much more extroverted hero than Shane, and has
greater plans to reform the town than merely just driving out the criminal element. Hatton s entry
to the film is also much more grand. He is a soldier of fortune transplanted to the American
frontier. (Abel 18). This alone creates the illusion of Hatton being a much more romantic hero and
having greater plans than merely just wanting to build a community. He wishes to clean out the
wickedness and lawlessness that Dodge City has become. To do this, he introduces sweeping
reforms that not only remove the criminal element, but also set a moral tone for the community.
This establishes him as a community leader who is willing to do whatever is necessary to curb
the violence and death that has stricken the town. He even arrests his friend Rusty (Alan Hart) for
carrying a gun to prove that no one is above the law.
People respect Hatton for who he is and what he has done for the community, not necessarily for
who he is as a person. This fact sets him apart from Shane. Hatton s actions are dictated by his own
morals and beliefs, (the desire to make the community safe for women and children )

The Oil And Natural Gas Resources
In North Dakota, the nation s second largest petroleum producing state after Texas, the number of
rigs has dropped to 65 from some 191 last year. More than 10,000 jobs have been lost. And
unemployment insurance benefits have risen by a reported 115 percent (Bobb). The Bakken
Formation is the oil and natural gasresource in North Dakota. The Bakken Oil Field in North
Dakota is young, at only ten to fifteen years old. It has experienced tremendous growth and
success, but is now in its first recession or bust cycle. The drop in oil prices on a worldwide level
has forced oil companies to stop drilling. Prices of Bakken Oil topped out over one hundred
dollars per barrel, and now are in the teens. Because of the drop, it is not profitable to drill new
oil wells. The result of fluctuating prices is a continuous boom and bust cycle in the oil industry.
When oil prices drop, most people think of the positive sides and personal benefits of
inexpensive fuel. However, many people do not take into consideration the negatives. People
who rely on oil field production, as well as supporting industries are adversely affected through
job layoffs and company bankruptcy (Bringe). As a result of lower oil and gas prices in the
Bakken Oil Field, North Dakota has experienced overbuilt housing, a financial crisis, and resource
company bankruptcy. One effect of low oil prices in North Dakota is overbuilt housing. Developers
and towns accurately predicted a boom, so many houses and apartments

Essay on Effects on Consumerism
Consumerism is a description of society s lifestyle in which many people embrace to achieve their
goals by acquiring goods that they clearly do not need (Stearns, 7). The idea that the market is
shaped by the choice of the consumers needs and wants can be defined as a consumer sovereignty
(Goodwin, Nelson, Ackerman, Weisskopf, 2). This belief is based on the assumption that the
consumer knows what it wants. Contrary to this logic, marketers convince us that the consumer
does not know what they want. The consumer has to be told what they want or be persuaded by
advertising items in a matter that demonstrates the reason a product makes their life easier or will
improve their life instantly. As one of the most successful entrepreneurs,... Show more content on

Consumption, we describe as the act of meeting basic needs with material goods and the practice
of consuming as a way of life is consumerism ( Kennedy 173). The ideology that the meaning of
life is found in buying things has really caused majority to spend almost their monthly salary on
goods and services in search of utility. This excessive recreational spending also plays a part in
increase of inflation, also has made more money in circulation. The world is the influenced by

Malala Yousafzai Influence
Not many people are born with a sense of righteousness. Chances are, your beliefs are influenced
by your surroundings and your life circumstances. This is the case for pretty much all activists.
Certainly, activists are influenced by problems around them. Take Malala Yousafzai, Craig and
Marc, and Emily Anne Rigal for example. Malala is a Global Advocate for Girls Education

Pakistan. The Taliban, a religious group, bombed schools and buildings. Now fast forward to
2009. A young Malala started writing a blog for the BBC Urdu service under the pen name Gul

Taliban think of this? A young girl in Pakistan speaking out against what she thought was
wrong? The extremist group did the one thing they saw fit. They voted to kill her. And try to kill
her they did. On 9 October 2012, as Malala and her friends were travelling home from school, a
masked gunman entered their school bus and asked for Malala by name. She was shot with a
single bullet which went through her head, neck and shoulder. (malala.org) She was rushed to a
hospital in Birmingham, United Kingdom. She survived. People thought it was a miracle. A teen
girl fighting for education was shot in the head and survived. This ignited new hope in the hearts
of many. Malala was finally released from the hospital a few months later. In 2014, Malala accepted
the Nobel Peace Prize, sharing the award with Kailash Satyarthi. Malala grew up in an

Uc Davis Rhetoric Presence Summary
Rhetoric Awareness Among Scientists: an ethnographic study describing the language used in the
Center for Neuroscience at UC Davis Synopsis The Center for Neuroscience (CN) is a complex,
large community that sparked my interest to do an ethnographic endeavor. This group provides
benefits to our society by conducting modern neurobiology research and coaching future
neurobiologists. The purpose of this ethnographic study is to have a better understanding of how
this discourse community functions as an entity. My study will focus on the methods that the CN
uses to communicate. As a member of the CN, I want to take a step back and explore, from the
perspective of an outsider, the rhetoric mechanisms that make their goals achievable. Background:

an example of a genre employed by this community (Artifact 1). Every wall is covered in
colorful posters with published scientific work from members of the community. As I walked to
Dr. Gray s office, the posters in the perimeter only had work from his laboratory. The same trend
appeared for other labs. This suggests that the laboratories have designated spaces where they can

Spiritual Medium Research Paper
About Spiritual Mediums
You may be a candidate for readings with spiritual mediums if you ve experienced unusual events
such as:
A feather floats from the sky and lands at your feet. No birds are in sight. Or, you feel a whoosh of
cold air, followed by the sensation that someone is kissing your cheek. You are home alone.
Such strange occurrences could indicate a friend or loved one is reaching out to you with a
message from the other side. Your best option is to seek spiritual mediums who can help you
decipher the messages.
Mediums are psychic, but their specialty is connecting with spirits on the other side. A psychic, on
the other hand, is not necessarily a medium.
Usually, mediums do not use metaphysical tools, like crystal balls or cards, to link with spirits.

By now, you may be curious to know how psychic mediums work. Some communicate through
power of mind to obtain information from spirits via their highly developed inner senses. This is
called mental mediumship.
Another method is called direct voice. These mediums speak to spirits with their normal voice,
rather than their minds. It is more difficult to connect and dialogue with those on the other side
through the physical senses, because spirits tend to be detached.
Then there is trance mediumship where mediums enter an unconscious state. His physical body
becomes an empty receptacle for entities to fill. Our recommendation to first timers is DON T GO

Not only is the medium putting himself at risk of possession by harmful entities, it can be a
frightening experience for you.
SГ©ances can be conducted by mediums for a group of clients who want to establish contact with
their departed loved ones. SГ©ance was derived from sedre , the Latin word for to sit . An

Essay about Sterling Seagrave s Dragon Lady
Empress Dowager Tzu His Exposed in Sterling Seagrave s Dragon Lady
China s great ancient empire has been the source of stories, fables, and fascination throughout the

making it one of the longest standing powers that the world has ever known. Yet, what took
centuries to create was destroyed during the reign of a single ruler, plunging the country into chaos

question the truth about China s last royal leader.
The book Dragon Lady, by Sterling Seagrave, is more than just a biography of the Empress
Dowager Tzu Hsi; it is a complex analysis of how the actions of royalty and politics played into
China s most trying times of modernization. Seagrave eliminates the myths and false stories about
the Empress, using facts from multiple sources to provide a realistic story, which sets the stage for
the reform period of China.
Seagrave does an excellent job not only of writing about the life of the Empress Dowager, but also
explaining the issues surrounding China at the time of the Empress reign. Detailed explanations
about the turmoil amongst the other members of the royal court, Western invasion and the Boxer
rebellion are carefully analyzed to distinguish truth from fiction in hopes of revealing the true story
of Tzu Hsi and eliminating the myths that surround the ruler.

Main Themes Of The Prince By Machiavelli
1. Machiavelli wrote The Prince because he wanted to give Lorenzo The Magnificent, a book that
highlights major keys to being a Prince and being one efficiently. Also, The Prince was written
because to gain endeavor by the prince it is customary to give him something a person holds most
valuable, Machiavelli held his knowledge most valuable.
2. The way Governments are Established and Held , is a theme in The Prince. Machiavelli says, The
dominions thus acquired have either been previously accustomed to the rule of another prince, or
else have been free states, and they are annexed either by force of arms of the prince himself, or
of other, or else fall to him by good fortune or special ability. , he then further explains this topic
in the next nine chapters. Another one of the major themes is War . Machiavelli explains how to
use the methods of offense and defense in a war if a princes foundation is stable for four chapters.
Finally, Reputation is a theme of The Prince. Throughout the last twelve chapters Machiavelli
explains how you should act to keep in favor of your citizens.
3. The role of armies is to maintain its country s defense through fortifications. This ensures security
and stops enemies from attacking a prince s country.
4. Machiavelli s advice is more realistic. He writes the real truth of the matter than to its
imagination , compared to other writers that have, have imagined republics and principalities which
have never been seen or known to exist in reality .
5. Machiavelli says it is better for a prince to be both feared and loved, because men will love at
free will and fear at the will of their prince, but a prince must rely solely on his power that he
already has. It is possible for a prince to be both. A prince could show love by giving constant
support for many of the citizens of his country, but should also be feared because he should give
consequences to citizens who do not follow the rules of the country.
6. Conspiracy, a prince should not worry about conspiracies when people are well, but when
people are hostile, he should fear conspiracies. Merit, a prince should show merit, and honor those
who excel. Goodness, a prince should gain

The Impact Of British Art On The World Of Art And...
British art is respected across the world for it s unique techniques and skills used for painting. A
lot of artist from around the world visit Britain for it s thick culture in the world of art and
opportunities. Almost all Minority art made in Britain falls into one of the two baskets, either it is
created by an artist from an African American/ Caribbean origin, or by the common people of the
Indian sub continental background. Despite of the attempts made to accumulate these two
inconsequential groups together, in order to promote, what Britain still identifies as Black art ,
what they bring to the world of art is radically divergent, mostly because of their origin s personal

Otherness in the field of art in some regions is not being identified and appreciated as it should
be. Fixity has now become a way of practicing culture, where racial differences in the discourse of
colonialism, is a incongruous methodology of representation. Fixity gives a feeling of firmness and
an unchanging order as well as disorder, immortality and daemonic repetition of racism in art
naturally.
Similarly, the racial and gender stereotype, that is reflected in the way of art and it s analysis, is
a major rambling blueprint, in the manifestation of identification as well as of consciousness, that
wavers between different opinions of what is conscientiously being repeated, always in a fixed
state and something that has already been known for a long period of time. Therefore, it is the
force of ambivalence that gives racial stereotype it s prevalence, and that shield s it s repeatability
in changing historical events and in it s wandering case.
Art is known to be region based, but a lot of artist now prefer going to a different nation and
grasp a different technique and skills. But when it comes to opportunities, for example; an Indian
origin or South Asian origin artist may be at a greater disadvantage as compared to the white artist
in British society, mainly because of an unchallenged racial intolerance or partiality, and also
because of the history of British colonies in Asia. History

of over 500,000 cars per year, half of which were exported abroad. Following the immense success,
the company become the largest automaker in the United Kingdom, through a variety of mergers in
the 1960s. During the many merges, Rover GroupLtd. became the parent company of several
famous brands including Mini, MG, Triumph, Riley, and Austin. Engendering an alluring variety of
top quality cars from hatchbacks to saloons to wagons and even sports cars. However, multiple
problems brought the company to bankruptcy by the late 1970s. The British government acquired
the company in 1975 and sold it to British Aerospace in 1988. British Aerospace later... Show more

Poor customer service and appalling workmanship in product quality due to poor quality control
tarnished the reputation of Rover cars as a high quality innovative manufacturer. Quality control
involves inspection of materials, processes, end products as well as customer services guaranteeing
high standards. Unlike its competitors, Rover cars were poorly built and were prone to rust and its
windows tend to leak within months of purchase. As a result, the company was losing its winning
factor, which is desirability among customers. As the company progressed, lack of employee
discipline put its reputation at stake as Rover cars became notoriously known as a car company
with poor build quality and poor customer service as complaints from customers were conveniently
swept under the carpet. Overcoming the situation, I would adopt internal and external control as
well as market control to improve the control of the organisation. With market control, influence by
competitors in terms of organisational behaviour would encourage employees to cope with the
competition by using similar quality materials to ensure longer durability and are less prone to rust.
Also, implementation of internal control promotes self discipline among employees in fulfilling
tasks expectations and responsibilities, especially in customer service. By implementing external
control strategy, managers must take immediate action against employees should there be a
disciplinary problem among

Ptsd Trauma
Chapter five discussed trauma and stress disorders. Two of these disorders being acute stress
disorder and posttraumatic stress disorder. For this week s discussion we were asked to discuss
what types of events in modern society might trigger these disorders. I feel that many events could
trigger this type of disorder. The initial events that come to mind are the Iraq war, Hurricane
Matthew that is affecting the east coast currently, the San Bernardino terrorist attack, death of a
child, and being a victim of a sexual assault. I think that all of these can be extremely stressful for
an individual. However, people on the outside may view one event to be more traumatic than
another. Some things that may help relieve the stresses of modern society... Show more content on

I think that the only way that you would be able to handle that is to go through modeling to re
teach your mind that those instances do not have to always associate with the traumatic event.
Although this may take a large amount of time since it would be hard to control when a
flashback is going to occur and how long they will be stuck in that frame of mind. Possibly
hypnosis could help with this. I think some younger kids know that if they throw a fit about
something or threaten violence they will get what they want. I think that this is hard to deal
with. How do you gauge if the threats are real or if it just that, a threat. It would be terrible if you
thought it was and they really did follow through. This is probably learned at a young age. I
know that for myself if I act like I can t do something or if I do it wrong my mom will help me.
Which is terrible, at the age of 26, still acting like I don t know how to boil water or something so
simple just so my mom will jump in and help me but I continue to find myself doing. However, I
do think that having your parents available to help you when you need help is extremely beneficial

The Greatest Leader Of History
Adolf Hitler has been looked upon as a Genius, the most evil being to ever walk the Earth, and as
the Greatest Leader in History. He was born in Braunau am Inn, Austria Hungary on the twentieth
of April in 1889 and lived for fifty six years. He accomplished what unimaginable feats before he
committed suicide on the eve of defeat by the Red Army two days after his marriage to Eva Braun
on the thirtieth of April in 1945. His rise to power began with the BrГјning administration after
years of politics before he was appointed as Chancellor and eventually elected to power before he
created the most memorable time in modern history; The Holocaust. During his earlier years,
particularly those of 1919, he was made an intelligence agent and assigned to gather said
information from the German Workers Party. During this process, he ended up getting recruited
into the party as member 555. He was lulled by Anton Drexler s social views in which he had a
particular agreeance to. It was in this part that he met Dietrich Eckart, who became Hitler s
Mentor in the Thule Society. Sometime after, the German Workers Party changed their name to
the National Socialist German Workers Party to make themselves sound more appealing to the
masses. It was at this time that Hitler created the well known swastika banner associated with this
party. No more than five months after becoming a party member, gave a famous speech against
the Treaty of Versailles, Jews, and Marxists in February of 1920. It was

in WW2, who knew apparently not me.......

I know all of my past lives now so there s more than Ash thinks I know, but I not going to tell her
that it would be stupid of me to even think to ask her what it means. She would panic and

and head back the safety of my loft and the love of my life. With a quick descent I hit the ground

Women s From 1914-1928
The Changing Role and Status of Women s From 1914 1928 We are studying how far the role
and status of women changed between 1914 and 1928. It includes different aspects of life for
the women; it will also refer to how and why life changed during the war. In the early 20th
century women s lives were a repeated routine, which unfortunately was the same every single
day. Women were not allowed to work unless she desperately wanted a job. She would have to
work extremely hard to become a nurse or a teacher but the pay was very low. The women could

Women in the WAAC were thought to be of a lower class. They quickly gained a bad reputation
for sexual misconduct with the troops in France. But the 21 reported pregnancies among the
6000 WAAC personal in France in 1918 suggest that these rumours were some what exaggerated.
Not every job filled by a woman was a replacement for a man. In 1915 the army blamed its defeat
on a lack of artillery shells. The result of this was a huge increase in the production of shells by
private companies. New jobs were created in these munitions factories, and by the end of the
war over 900,000 women had filled them. However, this was very dangerous work. Explosions
could kill and maim the workers. The chemicals used in the explosives caused workers to vomit
and eventually turned their skin yellow, giving these women the name Cannoves . Nevertheless,
Munitions work was very well paid; therefore many working class women were willing to do this
work. When the war ended men came back to claim their jobs which meant that many women had
to give up their jobs. Unfortunately many other jobs disappeared. There were fewer jobs in
domestic service. By 1921 the economic decline meant that the number of women in work was

Smoking Is Bad For The Body
Did you know that three out of four teens in high school admit to doing or being addicted to drugs?
A majority of the teenagers today will more than likely face short or long term health issues from
the usage of drugs, preferably marijuana. What kind of short and long term health issues you may
ask? Well short term health issues would include drowsiness/relaxation; slowed reaction time;
problems with balance and coordination; increased heart rate and appetite; problems with learning
and memory; hallucinations; anxiety and panic attacks! On the other hand we have long term
health issues which include mental health problems, chronic cough, frequent respiratory infections.
Smokingweed is a problem among teenagers today that tend to take on health issues in the body
such as danger to the adolescent brain, symptoms of chronic bronchitis, lung irritation and
reproduction effects. One reason smoking weed is bad for the body is because it causes damage
to the adolescent brain. The brain is the command center of you body. It weighs about three
pounds and has different centers or systems that process different kinds of information. THC in
marijuana affects the way that sensory information is processed. THC is up to no good in the
brain. THC finds brain cells, or neurons, with specific kinds of receptors called cannabinoid
receptors. Then, it binds to those receptors (Elaine Gottlleb, 2016). Certain parts of the brain have
high concentrations of cannabinoid receptors. These

Analysis Of Brian AldisBy Brian Aldiss
Brian Aldiss is one of the more popular authors that are associated with the new wave era of sci fi.
This story, in particular, has all of the elements that were described in this course; it touches upon
the changing world from a social and political standpoint, it had varying levels of sexual themes and
is thoroughly thought provoking. To truly appreciate Aldiss s writing style, reading the story more
than once will assist in gaining new viewpoints that are depicted the underlying motifs.
There are many themes that run through this short story; the one that stood out was mankind s
inability to see what is right in front of them. The word blind comes to mind. According to the
Cambridge dictionary, blind is the inability to physically see or not to be conscious of something
or to refuse to notice something that is obvious to others. That describes many of Aldiss
pessimistic views of mankind s future throughout this story along with one of the most common
political catchphrases or the the rich will get richer and the poor get poorer . Aldiss plays with
this idea and depicts the divide between social classes will eventually become so drastic that we
will eventually become accepting and ignorant of others around us because of mankind s self fish
drive for more, will lead to our own blindness of things around us.

African Culture in the Play, Death and the King s Horseman
Death and the King s Horseman is an interesting play because it brings forward the culture of the
Africans, specifically the Yoruba tribe, to the attention of the reader that most probably come from
a different background. There are many ways to read this play for example, it may appears
uneventful to some reader who only reads the play literally as an entertainment but if the reader
looks at this play as some cultural study then the theme of understanding will surely be obvious and
the reading will be a tougher task as there are many things that must be taken into consideration
such as the clash of cultures (Soyinka 3) and threnodic essence (Soyinka 3), which is the main
theme of the play. Cultural tension between the Western cultureand the Yoruba s culture can be felt
throughout the play because the writer always draws the attention of the reader to understand
another s culture (Yoruba s culture) from a perspective of a different culture (Western culture
) in the
play. The struggle between the Westerners and the Africans to understand each other can be seen
from the beginning to the end of the play. Regardless of Soyinka s claim in the Author s Note
against the reader who would read the Death and the King s Horseman as clash of cultures , which
consequently makes them ignorant to the threnodic essence that discusses about the idea of death
in the Yoruba s culture which is the main theme that Soyinka wants to bring forward to the reader,
the reader must not ignore

The Outbreak Of Salmonella Heidelberg
(a)
In 2011 there was a multistate outbreak of Salmonella Heidelberg infections. There were a total
of 190 affected individuals from 6 states [New York (109), New Jersey (62), Pennsylvania (10),
Maryland (6), Ohio (2), and Minnesota (1)]. Research showed a correlation between the outbreak
and a contaminated kosher chicken liver product labeled as kosher broiled chicken livers from
Schreiber Processing Corporation. This product is one that not ready to eat requiring cooking
before eating. According to investigations put forth by the CDC and FDA, consumers incorrectly
assumed the word broiled on the label meant the chicken liver was ready to eat. Additionally,
laboratory testing conducted by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets
Laboratory Division identified the outbreak strain of Salmonella Heidelberg in samples of the
above mentioned product. Once the specific bacterium was directly isolated and found to be
present in the suspected food item, a recall of the chicken livers was implemented.
This outbreak showed how important certain methods of prevention from foodborne illnesses are.
There are a few ways in which this outbreak could have been prevented. For example, appropriate
cooking temperatures, especially when cooking chicken liver is fundamental. Specifically, the
internal temperature of chicken liver needs to be 165 degrees F. Therefore, if the livers were being
cooked properly, then many of the ill individuals could have been

Compare And Contrast Christopher Columbus And Hernando Cortez
Once the New World was revealed, several explorers were sent to claim land for the countries they
represented. One explorer was Hernando Cortez who was sent by Spain to claim the Aztec capital,
Tenochtitlan. John Cabot was sent to explore what is now Canada by King Henry VII of England.
Another notorious explorer would be Christopher Columbuswho initially was the first to actually
find the New World. Although explorers come from different countries, they all share a desire to
accumulate land and wealth. Hernando Cortez, of Spain, was sent to explore and claim the Aztec
Empire. Spain sent Cortez there only after hearing about great treasures supposedly being hidden
there. Cortez was given a small expedition of about six hundred men to command

Occupational Licenses
Imagine a world with no competition, no entrepreneurs entering a market and opening up jobs to
the public while providing benefits to consumers in the process. The market would suffer
immensely without competition and instead of more benefits being provided, prices for the goods
and services provided by that market will increase. Occupational licenses are an example of how
entrepreneurs could be driven out, thus keeping out any competition and driving up prices instead
of providing benefits. Occupational licenses create a barrier from entering a market and if the
license requirements are truly outrageous, less entrepreneurs will be inclined to enter the field. For
example, the state of Rhode Island is one of forty states who require an occupational... Show more

Consumers will be given more choices to choose from and the prices for heating and air
conditioning will be sure to drop because of the increase in competition. More choices is a
positive for consumers because it means there will be a greater chance of them being able to find
a contractor who fits their needs well. By eliminating the occupational license, aspiring HVAC
contractors who couldn t gain a license for whatever reason will also gain from it. They will be
able to enter the market without worrying about extra costs or time spent training that needs to be
fulfilled to obtain a license. They can enter freely, after possibly going through some schooling, and
they will compete with other HVAC contractors, which in return benefits consumers by offering
them lower prices and more options to choose from. Everyone needs heating and air conditioning in
their homes or buildings in order to live comfortably. Without an occupational license or even
lessening the requirements to obtain one will benefit consumers and allow them to live even more
comfortably. There should be no reason that consumers must pay more to live comfortably in their
homes, so there should be no reason that HVAC contractors must have to obtain an occupational
license after fulfilling tedious and unnecessary

Of The Rain, And The Short Happy Life Of Francis Macomber

Dependence on Men There can be no doubt... of our dependence upon forces beyond our control.
Primitive man was so impotent in the face of these forces that [gravitate], especially in and
unfavorable natural environment, fear became a dominant attitude, and, as the old saying goes,
fear created gods . (John Dewey) Life often works like this. One person is dependant on the
another. Ernest Hemingway wrote two very intriguing stories, Cat in the Rain, and The Short
Happy Life of Francis Macomber. Both stories have a lead female character who is very vulnerable
and counts on the other men in the story. Hemingway portrays women as dependant on the men in
his short stories. The women in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

support herself, by cause of Margot s loss of awareness of where money comes for. Her sees it as
coming from a man, not being earned. Hemingway uses Margot and the wife s dependence on
Francis men in theseir stories to show women s dependence on men.
In Hemingway s stories women These women have affairs with other men because their
husband will not give them what they want. In The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber,
Francis realizes that Margot is cheating and she relies on another manother men, not just him
because he realized that his wife was not in the other cot in the tent. Margot cheats because she
knows her husband will not leave her even though they get to pretty though terms and Wilson
tries to convince her [t]hat was a pretty thing to do, he said in a toneless voice. He would have
left you too. Wilson makes multiple references to his and Margot s affairs and keeps reminding
her of them to make her feel guilty. Margot refuses to let her husband find out, even though he
figures it out in the middle of the story, for she relies on him for support economically , and
socially. As for the story, Cat in the Rain, the wife has a different type of affair, a metaphorical
affair, thato symbolizes her dependence on men. In this story , her desire isn not like Margot s.
Her desire is to have a cat , which symbolizes her want to have a baby. Her husband will not

What Is Freudian Slip Theory
Introduction
Freudian slip theory was originally created by Sigmund Freud. He was an Austrian neurologist and
was better known as the founder of psychoanalysis (1856 1939). Psychoanalysis can be defined as
a set of psychological theories which includes the Freudian slip theory. He believed that everyone
possess an unconscious mind, feelings, desires and memories in their lifetime. It is to be said that
peoples will bring their unconscious content on their mind to their conscious awareness and people
will be able to experience catharsis and gain insight into their current state of mind. (Cherry, What is
Psychoanalysis?, 2016)
Freud s theory of slips of the tongue and pen Sigmund Freud theory is formed based on peoples

In Freud s theory, the conscious mind includes everything that people are aware of an aspect of
mental processing that can help people think and talk rationally with peoples around them. The
unconscious mind is the area fills with feelings, thoughts and memories which others are unaware
of it. These feelings are mostly unacceptable or unpleasant such as feelings of pain, anxiety, anger
or conflict. Freud suggests that it is the conflicts between the conscious views on the reality and the
unconscious view on repressed materials that cause such negative mental disturbance such as
anxiety, depression and obsession. Researchers took 11 patients with anxiety disorder and measure
their brain activity while they were confronted with conscious versus unconscious stimuli. They
resulted in founding a new measurement of the brain s alpha wave frequency, linked to
communication, was made when the unconscious conflict words were presented directly before the
conscious words. They believe that repression might be involved in the Freudian

  • 2. Essay on Barriers and Disparities in Health Care Barriers and Disparities in Health Care NUR/550 June 8, 2012 Cynthia Holsen R.N. C.W.H.N.P. Barriers and Disparities in Health Care Everyone should have the opportunity to achieve a healthy life and have comprehensive health care services available to them. To achieve this healthy life, people need to have access to the health care system and to a health care provider with whom they can develop a trusting relationship. However, existing barriers to attaining health care services often lead to disparities which in turn lead to differences in life expectancy, health status and a higher prevalence of certain chronic diseases (HealthyPeople.gov, 2012). Barriers Barriers to health care can be defined as conditions that can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With the increasing immigrant population a third barrier affecting access to health care is a cultural barrier. Culture barriers can include values and beliefs, language and race and ethnicity. Health beliefs and behavior can become a barrier when patients decide not to seek medical treatment and instead turn to home remedies and healers when treating illnesses. Approximately 10% of Americans speak a language other than English and can be classified ad being limited in their proficiency. For these patients language becomes a barrier and they are less likely to receive optimal medical treatment (Flores, 2006). Horton and Johnson (2010) stress the importance of communication in reducing disparities and increasing the trust of patients in the health care system. As reported by the American College of Physicians, evidence reveals that racial and ethnic minorities are more likely to receive inferior care when compared with non minorities. This occurs even when minorities have access to insurance and adequate income (Racial and ethnic disparities in health care, 2010). Disparities Barriers in health care can lead to disparities in meeting health needs and receiving appropriate care, including preventive services and the prevention of unnecessary hospitalizations (HealthyPeople.gov, 2012). In their 2008 annual report, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality lists several disparities in health care. They report that racial and ethnic minorities in the United States ... • 5. Buffa s Dance Studio Analysis Anyone who has heard of the show Dance Moms, may cringe at the statement, I ve grown up in a dance studio. However, I can attest to the fallacy of that sentiment. When I was eight years old, I enrolled in my first of countless dance classes at Buffa s Dance Studio. Eight years later, the studio director offered me a job. This opportunity soon developed into far more than the typical employment available to teenagers. Working side by side the studio owner, I spent copious hours reorganizing the studio, teaching classes, and developing innumerable spreadsheets to allow for easy tracking of the myriad details: annual registration of 500+ dancers, orders for thousands of costumes and the production of six recitals, complete with lighting, sound, and special effects. In addition to working for the studio, I assisted in the yearly production of The Nutcracker performances, staged through their non profit organization, Burke Civic Ballet. The first several months of the year were dedicated to hours spent at weekly rehearsals, as well as hundreds of hours planning fundraising events, organizing parent volunteers, and developing a thirty page program to be used at the weekend s performance. ... A growing population means more demand on food. The world population will rise to 9.3 billion in 2050 and surpass 10 billion by the end of this century. (Sanyal) This should say something about our growing population that is still continuing to grow to this day. This increase in food demand also calls for more efficient ways of growing and providing food without causing any damage to our environment or our health. Two methods that can be effective for this demand are the organic and conventional method. Decision: Its unethical for conventional farmers to use of pesticides and growth hormone to multiply their products faster and bigger than organic farmers. Meanwhile while these conventional farmers make millions in their products, millions of people are deprived from a healthy diet by choosing to support organic farmers. The reason against the Claim: The influence conventional farmers have on consumers. While many people want to support the organic method because of its known benefits but they also feel that it is just another way to cheat consumers out of their money. However, studies have proven that conventional fruits, vegetables, and even drinks are cheaper than organic. While the subsequent loving interaction between the father daughter duo showcases Sarah s support for her dad s journey, Sarah s thought that transgender people simply want to dress up like a lady showcases how she believes that transgender people s wishes are to cross dress and not be actually a different gender. The conflict between Sarah s want to support her father s journey and her lack of understanding of the transgender community helps to reflect that in society if people are not aware of the transgender people s journey, then it will be difficult for even those with the best of heart to help and be supportive of transgender people s plight. • 13. The Controversy Surrounding The Church Essay Leithart begins this book by talking about the controversy surrounding the church in the 4th century. Athanasius, a young man brought up in a pagan household, was taught to fear the Lord from a man named Alexander from a young age. Athanasius main opponent during his lifetime was to discount Arianism, a heresy that tried to propose the subordination of the Son to the Father, a view that outright denied the eternal generation of the Son, making Jesusless than God. The Arians believed that the Father exists prior to the Son, since the Son is not eternal, that is, not timelessly self subsistent to the Father. This is to say that the Father does not eternally generate the Son, but instead came into being at a certain point in history, a blatant heresy that was corrected by Athanasius and the Church council in the 4th century. Athanasius believed that Jesus was shepherd, high priest...Passover Sacrafice, which manifests itself now in the living incarnate son of Jesus Christ. Jesus is unique, however, in the fact that he is the all sustaining high priest without transition and without succession. Athanasius also believed that Jesus is eternally generated by the father, and that Jesus, along with the father, is unoriginate, from alpha to omega. Executives can trade for entirely legitimate reasons, such as to raise money to meet a tax bill or simply to diversify. But of course they must avoid trading on nonpublic information, and that can lead to sticky situations, since executives do possess just such information much of the time. Regulatory efforts to find a way around this conundrum and allow executives to trade, a Wall Street Journal analysis suggests, are so flawed they have left a confusing landscape that can both raise suspicions about trades that are innocent, and provide cover for others that are less so. Trading by specific insiders, such as employees, is commonly permitted as long as it does not rely on material information not in the public domain. However most jurisdictions require such trading be reported so that these can be monitored. After reading the works of James Sweet and Katrina Thompson, it is evident that the slaves were treated as commodities, rather than human beings. My research will center on the book The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano by Olaudah Equiano, in which the author recounts his experience as a slave going through the Middle Passage. Other works such as Ring Shout, Wheel About The Racial Politics of Music and Dance in North American Slavery, by Katrina Thompson, and Domingos ГЃlvares, African Healing, and the Intellectual History of the Atlantic World, by James Sweet, can help us garner a deeper insight as to the experiences of Olaudah Equiano by analyzing similar instances from a different rhetorical standpoint. The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano is a particularly interesting object because it is primary, in that he is telling us, in the first person, about his own experiences. He was a slave in Virginia for a short period of time, but the majority of Equiano s life as a slave was serving the captains of slave ships and British navy vessels. Following his life journey can allow us to trace his experiences and thoughts that may not be reported by the conductors of the slave trade where the majority of information on the slave trade comes from. • 17. Are Different Forms Of Discipline More Useful Or Harmful... Discipline is an act by which children learn standards of acceptable behavior and repercussions that they can apply towards greater independence. Although verbal discipline is generally recognized as being more appropriate for children, it may also carry emotionally damaging effects if practiced irresponsibly. Physical discipline is seen to be an unacceptable solution, because of the physical and emotional risks to the child. The goal of effective discipline is to ensure acceptable and appropriate behavior in children and to raise mature adults who will make great decisions in life. So, are physical and verbal forms of discipline more helpful or harmful to children? Discipline is a word that many people including adults and children do not fully understand. Kids see discipline as punishment when they are told that they are bad or if they receive physical harm. Punishment can be positive when there is an added behavior, or negative when there is a behavior that is taken away. For example, a positive form of punishment is if a parent gives a child his or her favorite snack in order for them to remember to use the phrases please and thank you in their everyday language. A negative punishment is if a child misbehaves in school and get his or her toys taken away. On the contrary, discipline is about guiding and teaching children so that they will make good decisions and learn to control themselves. Discipline offers the child an opportunity to do the right thing, and it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Yankees only gave these low numbers to the players who were supposed to be exceptional. This meant that Derek was to follow in the footsteps of Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, and Mickey Mantle. These expectations made him very nervous, but Jeter still performed extraordinarily. The other reason that D.J. is under tremendous pressure is because he plays on the most recognized sports franchise in history. No matter what he does, he s under a ton of scrutiny. A third reason that he s under this pressure is that not only is Derek a player on the Yankee, but he is actually there team captain. The masquerade is imagery because he is describing in almost dream like detail of what is going on around him. Here shown by There were arabesque figures with unsuited limbs and appointments. Hatton s entry to the film is also much more grand. He is a soldier of fortune transplanted to the American frontier. (Abel 18). Essay about Sterling Seagrave s Dragon Lady Empress Dowager Tzu His Exposed in Sterling Seagrave s Dragon Lady China s great ancient empire has been the source of stories, fables, and fascination throughout the world for generations. The Asian culture has a long history of powerful leaders and ruthless battles making it one of the longest standing powers that the world has ever known. Yet, what took centuries to create was destroyed during the reign of a single ruler, plunging the country into chaos and confusion. The one who often is believed to have generated this collapse is the Empress Dowager Tzu His, the last Empress of China. Until the end of her reign in the early 1900s, the life of the Empress was shrouded in mystery. Once people gained access to the court ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many took Blackhouse s reports at face value and it was not until later that people began to question the truth about China s last royal leader. The book Dragon Lady, by Sterling Seagrave, is more than just a biography of the Empress Dowager Tzu Hsi; it is a complex analysis of how the actions of royalty and politics played into China s most trying times of modernization. Seagrave eliminates the myths and false stories about the Empress, using facts from multiple sources to provide a realistic story, which sets the stage for the reform period of China. Seagrave does an excellent job not only of writing about the life of the Empress Dowager, but also explaining the issues surrounding China at the time of the Empress reign. Detailed explanations about the turmoil amongst the other members of the royal court, Western invasion and the Boxer rebellion are carefully analyzed to distinguish truth from fiction in hopes of revealing the true story of Tzu Hsi and eliminating the myths that surround the ruler. John H. Boyle, of California State University, writes in The Library Journal a raving review of Dragon Lady saying: The Dowager Empress Tzu Hsi, ruling from behind the silk curtain, held extraordinary power during the last decades of China s tottering empire. Her name has always been linked with unflattering ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Finally, Reputation is a theme of The Prince. Throughout the last twelve chapters Machiavelli explains how you should act to keep in favor of your citizens. 3. The role of armies is to maintain its country s defense through fortifications. This ensures security and stops enemies from attacking a prince s country. 4. Machiavelli s advice is more realistic. He writes the real truth of the matter than to its imagination , compared to other writers that have, have imagined republics and principalities which have never been seen or known to exist in reality . 5. Machiavelli says it is better for a prince to be both feared and loved, because men will love at free will and fear at the will of their prince, but a prince must rely solely on his power that he already has. It is possible for a prince to be both. A prince could show love by giving constant support for many of the citizens of his country, but should also be feared because he should give consequences to citizens who do not follow the rules of the country. 6. A lot of artist from around the world visit Britain for it s thick culture in the world of art and opportunities. Almost all Minority art made in Britain falls into one of the two baskets, either it is created by an artist from an African American/ Caribbean origin, or by the common people of the Indian sub continental background. Despite of the attempts made to accumulate these two inconsequential groups together, in order to promote, what Britain still identifies as Black art , what they bring to the world of art is radically divergent, mostly because of their origin s personal crisis as well as due to their history of struggle.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Otherness in the field of art in some regions is not being identified and appreciated as it should be. Fixity has now become a way of practicing culture, where racial differences in the discourse of colonialism, is a incongruous methodology of representation. Fixity gives a feeling of firmness and an unchanging order as well as disorder, immortality and daemonic repetition of racism in art naturally. Similarly, the racial and gender stereotype, that is reflected in the way of art and it s analysis, is a major rambling blueprint, in the manifestation of identification as well as of consciousness, that wavers between different opinions of what is conscientiously being repeated, always in a fixed state and something that has already been known for a long period of time. Therefore, it is the force of ambivalence that gives racial stereotype it s prevalence, and that shield s it s repeatability in changing historical events and in it s wandering case. Art is known to be region based, but a lot of artist now prefer going to a different nation and grasp a different technique and skills. But when it comes to opportunities, for example; an Indian origin or South Asian origin artist may be at a greater disadvantage as compared to the white artist in British society, mainly because of an unchallenged racial intolerance or partiality, and also because of the history of British colonies in Asia.
