Macbeth And Hamlet Research Paper
Within 1601 1605 William Shakespeare produced, what is said to be, the four wings of his spirit in the
tragic division: Hamlet, Othello, Macbeth, and Lear. Shakespeare captures current beliefs, political
history, and cultural events in his plays. Shakespeare s tragedies, Macbeth and Hamlet, were both
written during King James I reign to symbolize the darkness and represent the insecurities of the time.
While some of the happier Shakespearean plays, Midsummer s Night Dream, were written during
Queen Elizabeth I s reign to express the happy, optimistic mood, and confidence in the people.
Although, Macbeth and Hamlet have different settings, they are similar because the plays include the
corruption of royalty, influential supernatural events, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many of the English focussed on the issue of keeping her femininity yet maintaining her rule. There
was questioning of if a woman was fit to rule England or if her gender reduced her status as queen.
There were also doubt on how she could provide an heir without relinquishing her power to her
husband. This idea is seen throughout the female characters of Macbeth and Hamlet. In Macbeth,
Lady Macbeth wants to take matter into her own hands, but states that it is inappropriate because she
is a woman. She also uses Macbeth s masculinity to persuade him to kill Duncan. When Macbeth didn
t kill the guards Lady Macbeth did; due to the guilt she later suffered from insanity and committed
suicide. A month after her first husband s death, Gertrude married Claudius, handing the kingship to
Hamlet s uncle, instead of the rightful heir. Gertrude is poisoned by her husband when he meant to kill
Hamlet. Ophelia, the daughter of a nobleman who loved Hamlet, went insane when her father was
murdered by her love. As a result of the unbearable grief she drowned herself in a brook. Lady
Macbeth says that Macbeth has had these visions, and has been like that since childhood. Gertrude
says Hamlet is crazy in love with Ophelia. Both female roles blames the males craziness on something
other than actual insanity. Each of the female characters reflect the beliefs of women in Shakespeare s
time. He expresses the belief

HIPAA Essay
The Health Insurance Portability and Accounting Act (HIPAA) is geared towards the protection of
anyone with Protected Health Information (PHI). It was passed in 1996 by congress placing new rules
to protect PHI under the enforcement of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Under
HIPAA anyone who handles health care information such as, clearinghouses, health care plans, and
health care providers who transmits certain types of healthcare information electronically is
considered a covered entity subject to regulation under HIPAA. HIPAA sets up two major rules
addressing privacy and security. The first, the Privacy Rule, addresses the need to keep PHI
confidential by limiting its disclosure and use. There are several means in ... Show more content on

The first is when the owner of the PHI requests it. Although the covered entity may deny the request if
it believes it will cause harm to the life or physical safety of the requester or another person. The
second is in the event of an HHS investigation. There are several other important individual rights
under the Privacy Rule. Covered entities are required to keep records detailing the disclosures of a
person s PHI. Although covered entities do not need to detail every disclosure, but rather specific
types as detailed in the Privacy Rule. Also, any notices given to people about their PHI must be
written in a simple, easy to understand manner. Other things to note are requirements to report
breaches, and in the event that a person requests access to his or her own PHI, the covered entity must
respond within 30 days with a possible extension of another 30 days with notification. The other major
part of HIPAA is the Security Rule. The purpose of the Security Rule is to ensure that PHI is secure
and requires that certain types of safeguards be put in place. This rule has three different types of
safeguards put in place. The first category has to do with administrative safeguards. These are as
follows, security management process, assigned security responsibility, workforce security,
information access management, security awareness training, security incident procedures,

Jackson And Andrew Jackson
Andrew Jackson acted more as King Andrew who incited mob rule rather than the man of the people
which he claimed to be. Andrew Jackson disagreed with different government systems, moved his
friends and allies into the cabinet, and closed the national bank which proved that Andrew Jackson
knew how he wanted to change the course of America and took less interest in pubic opinion. Andrew
Jackson acted as more of a king than a president. Jackson did not serve for the people of America,
Jackson served to change America how he believe it should be run. By ignoring the government
Jackson acts more like a king than a president. Jackson went against Supreme Court decision and
removed Indians from their land. As Jackson said in his Second Annual Message to Congress Jackson
commented that, the removal of the Indians beyond the white settlements is approaching to a happy
consummation (Doc E). Indians on the land that Jackson forcibly removed them from was delegated
as their land by the Supreme Court. By going against the Supreme Court, Jackson did not act
presidentially. Also, The removal of Indians resulted in countless Indian deaths and resulted in
violence. Another example of Jackson attending to his own agenda was the issue of nullification and
South Carolina. Jackson had a personal bias against John C. Calhoun, and threatened him when
Calhoun exclaimed that South Carolina would leave the union if Jackson didn t allow South Carolina

Puritan Religious Changes
The religious changes that occurred in England during the early 1500s were less concerned with
doctrinal matters. King Henry VIII, initially a Roman Catholic, left the church over dynastic concerns:
He wanted to perpetuate the line of Tudor monarchs. Despite the emergence of an independent English
church, religious loyalties remained deeply divided for decades. Actually, the English church differed
a little from the Catholic Church, except for the central issue of allegiance to the pope. The remaining
similarity was a matter of deep concern to many who felt that the English Reformation had not gone
far enough. The name Puritan came to be used to describe members of the English Church who
wished to purify it of all its pretenses to the Roman ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They were mainly similar politically. Socially and economically they had some differences also.
However, one thing they were alike is that they both had a royal governors. Their royal governors
were both chosen by the king. The king made all of their decisions. However, the king did try to make
the laws fairly. He took what his people wanted under consideration when making the rules. Of
course, not everyone can be pleased, so some people did not like the rules but they learned to deal
with them. Another way the New England colonies and Southern colonies are alike is that their people
got to vote for their lawmakers. Virginia had the House of Burgesses that was a legislature that was
picked by the people. The Pilgrims had the Mayflower compact, in which they would follow. They
both had early examples of

The Internal Topology Of The Park Bench
Topology:
Internal Topology:
The internal topology within this performance relies heavily on the fact that the stage is rounded and
there is a single park bench (split in half and facing opposite ways) in the centre of it. The cyclical
view of life is not only symbolically represented through the stage to the audience but also by the
nature of the stage in regards to the actors. The two characters as at the opposite end of a shared cycle
is also represented through the utilisation and manipulation of the park bench. Marion s book is able to
represent the shift that is to occur as Marion exits the cycle of her life and the Girl is to enter. Thus, the
internal topology as per the spacing of elements on the stage is instrumental in portraying the intended
meaning for the greatest audience impact.
One of the greatest challenges regarding the internal topology of this play is the notion of having an
eighty year old woman meet a sixteen year old version of herself as the preconceived notion of space
and time shifts. This is dealt with across the technical disciplines through the unity in developing their
individual roles and the contrasting display of their relationship. The notion of such meeting can be
perceived as quite strange to an audience when presented as reality however it is through the
manipulation of their roles and their relationship, achieved by the various technical disciplines, that
such occurrence is able to be achieved. This meeting, through the roles of the

Carl Sandburg, A Zealot for Chicago
Carl Sandburg was a three time Pulitzer prize winning poet, writer, and editor. As he was growing up,
Sandburg s family struggled with poverty, which engendered him to drop out of school early in his
teens to help contribute to his financially strained family. Sandburg was convinced by a man that
served with him during the Spanish American war, that he should attend Lombard College; Sandburg
took his advice and completed four years at Lombard. After getting his education he moved to
Chicago and obtained a job from Chicago Daily News, as an editorial writer. Sandburg s works
emulated his literary influence, Walt Whitman; both poets wrote in free verse. In 1914, Sandburg
published his poem Chicago then two years later, integrated the poem along with various other poems
relating to the city, and titled it Chicago Poems.
In the poem Chicago, Sandburg commences his poem by naming various titles such as Hog Butcher
for the World, Tool Maker, Stacker of Wheat, Player with Railroads, and the Nation s Freight Handler

Sandburg was very candid and raw about the reality of Chicago and the cycle it has gone through
despite grotesque circumstances pertaining to the inhabitants. The beauty of this poem lies within the
fervent passion among the citizens of Chicago. Sandburg and Whitman not only share the
commonality of writing in free verse but shared the same purposes; both poets celebrated American
accomplishments. Admitting, acknowledging, and embracing one s faults can lead to future success, as

How Opponents to Gay Marriage Offer Illusory Arguments
How Opponent to Gay Marriage offer Illusory Arguments
The book The Invisible Gorilla: How Our Intuitions Deceive Us by Chabris and Simons truly makes a
strong case for how six different types of illusions (or beliefs) truly disserve the human population.
The six common illusions that the book discusses are the illusion of memory, the illusion of
confidence, the illusion of knowledge, the illusion of cause and the illusion of potential. Chabris and
Simon argue that one can see these illusions at work in a range of human interactions and current
events. Sometimes these illusions demonstrate the fallibility of the human mind; sometimes they just
demonstrate the need of human beings to impose meaning or order upon things or events which lack
both.
A current issue that demonstrates several of the six illusions that Chabris and Simons discuss is the
debate over gay marriage. Those who oppose gay marriage often demonstrate an argument which is
full of illusory and shoddy ideas. For example, one of the main arguments against gay marriage is that
allowing homosexuals to marry will destroy the institution of marriage. This demonstrates the illusion
of cause. The illusion of cause arises when we see patterns in randomness, and we are most likely to
see patterns when we think we understand what is causing them (Chabris Simons, p.155). The work of
Stanley Kurtz tried to prove that allowing same sex marriage in Denmark, Norway and Sweden
decreased the rate of heterosexual marriage

First Aid for Adults Essay
First Aid for Adults
For my listening piece I decided to do a talk on first aid for adults. I identified the main characteristics
of scripted speech and tried to emulate them in my piece. The key characteristics of instructional
speech are that it uses very short, concise sentences to give directions. Long complex sentences can
lead to ambiguity and confusion. Instructional speech uses simple, easy to understand vocabulary as
complicated wording, jargon and terminology make instructions difficult to understand and may
confuse the listener. The points must also be presented in a logical order to make them easy to follow.
The audience should be addressed directly, using a fairly personal, ... Show more content on

In my third and fourth drafts, I put the information into even smaller blocks to emphasise the succinct
style of writing because I felt that it was still too difficult to follow; so I used more bullet points and
used capitals, underlining and italics to emphasise key words and phrases. Also in the graphology of
the piece I have used dashes in order to more effectively show where the reader would give a slight
pause. An example is in a hundred compressions a minute just under two a second .
In the third paragraph in particular, the sentences were too complex so having originally written them
as one complex sentence in the pluperfect tense, I broke them down in to one point per sentence and
put them in the present tense so that it would be easier to understand. I also changed some of the verbs
that were in the present tense into the imperative form because it made the phonology sharper and
clearer for the audience to hear. One example is in the sentence After you have returned to the casualty
and rechecked their breathing and they are not breathing or if the likely cause of unconsciousness is
trauma or drowning and they are not breathing, you now give two rescue breaths . The sentence was
much too long and confusing so I changed it to When you return to the casualty re check their
breathing. If they are not breathing or if the likely cause

Lust
One of the most primal sins is Lust, it is networked, laid out in the foundation of all human beings, not
only in humans primal instinct but in our physical being. Why is that? Why does it hold such a
controlling grasp over us? Why is Lust the only sin that goes beyond physical but to metaphysical?
Because the human condition requires Lust for survival! Lust is becoming more and more evident in
today s society, in the fact that businesses and media use Sex Appeal to increase profit and popularity.
Art Ross talks about how and why sex sells in his article, Sexual Advertising on TV in the Post Sexual
Revolution Era. from the book, Back Stage. He says that how well a commercial sells when using
sexual appeal, depends on which type, and how intense the sexual acts are. One example he uses for
how Sex sells is how Chateau Martin Wine years ago decided to use a rather hard looking blonde to
lip sync their double entendre slogan: Had Any Lately? , which failed miserably. However, when they
used their now famous double entendre, Does She or Doesn t She? , the subtlety and charm in both the

Baseball Ball Monologue
It is a cold grey afternoon with a dull sky and ragged clouds. The last leaf on the tree was finally
blown off by the wind, the leaves crunched beneath your feet as you walk on it. The awful smell of
dried leaves filled the air and out in the distance, the leafless tree s branches wobbled around as the
wind pushed and blow them around. The dark clouds look furious but me and my younger brother,
Allie are happy as hell. We just got a new baseball ball gifted from my older brother, D.B. We start
enjoying and playing some baseball throws. As I take a step and throw the ball, the scarlet and gold
leaves get crunched. The wide ground is lit by some rays, shining through a thin layer of grey cloud

of conflicting instructions as I race towards him. The panic in my brain increases as the raindrops falls
slowly on his body. Frozen in panic and shrill scream in my brain as I hold Allie s body, as he lay
breathless and still. Gasps, murmurs from the crowd, breaks my panic. Then medics plough through
the crowd and with precision put Allie on oxygen and wheel his motionless body away. It feels as
though walls are closing in on me, as I try to block out the vicious stares of all the phonies in the
crowd. As the ambulance disappears I feel Allie is going far away from me just like those red leaves,
falling from the trees sway gently in the autumn wind. My mother and my father, later, walks towards

Comparison Of Classical Hollywood Cinema And Neorealist...
Film and realism are connected to one another; it gives the audience an opportunity to interpret the
film in their own perspective, in relation to the real world. As someone with a firm opposition to
editing and montage, Bazin stated that the mise en scène truly represents true continuity in film,
reproducing the real world more realistically. (Cardullo, 7) There are two editing systems: Classical
Hollywood Cinema and Neorealist Cinema. From their similarities and differences, it can be said that
Neorealist Cinema portrays the real world more realistically and effectively than CHC... In order to
produce Bazin s true continuity and reproduce situations more realistically, the filmmaker must choose
an effective editing system, refrain from interrupting the flow of images, and use minimal editing,
proven through the two films Bicycle Thieves (Neorealist Cinema) and Stagecoach (CHC). According
to Bazin s theory on realism, there are different forms of realism using different techniques and
technologies depending on the period. Editing systems such as Neorealist Cinema focused relatively
on the poor working conditions and the underclass, using minimal editing and manipulation to the
film. While, Classical Hollywood ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

method was used as a way to conform to the flow of the viewer s attention (Cardullo, 7)1. Thus, the

The constantly changing media scene regularly permits harmful remarks to exist without

Summary Of The Liberator In Venezuela
Venezuela was one of the very first colonies to gain their independence from Spain. At the time
Venezuela was a Spanish ruled colony and the people of Venezuela felt that Spain was ruling their
colony terribly (Adelblue). The people were led by Simon Bolivar, whose nickname was The
Liberator since he liberated Venezuela and worked with San Martin to liberate most of Northern South
America (Adelblue). Venezuela declared their independence in 1810 and finally gained their
independence after the Battle of Carabobo in 1821 (Minster). Three symbolic elements of the
Venezuelan Revolution are used to portray Simon Bolivar, the speech Simon gave to the Second
National Congress in 1819 to encourage the type of government he had in mind, and the high taxation
which was the main cause of the revolution (Ellis and Esler 705). In the monument to symbolize
Simon Bolivar, an incomplete statue of him was in the process of being completed by the people of
Venezuela. This is a representation of how Simon built and liberated Venezuela (Adelblue). The statue
is being built by the people of Venezuela just, as Simon built the country by freeing them, and by
establishing a strong foundation (Adelblue). The body of the statue is green to symbolize the growth
of the country and his pants are blue to symbolize independence. Simon was the commander of the
Venezuelan forces during the successful revolution against Spain (Martz and Heckler). Simon Bolivar
was nicknamed The Liberator (Adelblue).

The Relationship Between Race And Educational Expectations...
This bibliography is a collection of articles that illustrate the story of Cape Town, South Africa,
namely, that race considerations in one fashion or another permeate every facet and corner of the
country s life. It appears almost impossible for South Africans of any color ever to get away, or to
remove themselves, from this issue, although obviously the reality of race relations does not bear on
all groups equally or in exactly the same manner. Sadly, these same issues are a problem within the
United States as well. Although there are currently no peer reviewed articles regarding this same topic
within places like Ferguson, Missouri, more research is warranted for a closer look at race relations in
these areas.
Education
This study examined the relationship between race and educational expectations between parents and
their children. Specifically, a longitudinal data set focused on educational expectations among black
(African), colored (mixed) and white (European ancestry) parents and their children in Cape Town,
South Africa. Researchers found that there is a strong relationship between the educational expectation
among parents and children regardless of race, although the black parents and children had higher
expectations than the other races, once socioeconomic factors were controlled for. Also, parents and
children tend to agree more about the expectations and have a stronger correlation to the white and
colored races. They suggest that this is due to the desire for

with various issues. Essentially, the documentary chronicles the ups and downs of their lives, in an
environment that is constantly trying to diminish them (Davis, 2009). With that being said, there are
two main themes found within the documentary. The first theme focuses on the strife that these
teenagers, and those within their lives, endure. The second one feeds off this strife, and demonstrates
the potential of Mikey and Kendell. Aspects of both themes have been discussed in our class lectures,
because they relate to major societal problems. Overall, these themes outline the obstacles the

topics in our class lectures.
In more specific terms, the theme regarding strife is defined by the various hardships these teenagers
presently encounter such as race, crime, education, family issues, and poverty, all of which can be
related to our class lectures. Firstly, race is a basic component in the strife that these teenagers
experience. In Canada, those who are black are considered to be part of a minority group. Thus, they

Elisa Confused Essay
Elisa Confused Like many short stories, John Steinbeck s The Chrysanthemums deceives most readers
by appearing to be a simple short story. The Chrysanthemums, which only occupies about eight pages
in textbooks, captures the emotional pain of a woman trying to live in the 1930 s. As critic Stanley
Renner wrote, The Chrysanthemums shows a strong capable woman kept from personal, social, and
sexual fulfillment by the prevailing conception of a woman s role in a world dominated by men
(Renner 306). Elisa Allen, the only female in The Chrysanthemums displays her sexual frustrations
throughout the short story by slipping in and out of masculine and feminine characteristics. The

Elisa then speaks about how she would be good at working in the orchards. Henry apparently feels
Elisa has spoken too much about masculine subjects because he resorts back to calling the
chrysanthemums simply flowers (221). This first scene between husband and wife sets the tone of the
entire story. Elisa s gestures and actions change as different words and topics are mentioned to her.
She feel s unimportant and inferior as a woman and strong enough to be a man. Soon after Henry
leaves to finish he work, the tinker is introduced into the story. Here is where Elisa s sexuality is
tested. Elisa s first reaction to the tinker is similar to that of a man s, for she resists giving him work

begins to weaken Elisa, though, and eventually breaks her strong stance by using her pride and joy her
chrysanthemums. The tinker captures the beauty of the chrysanthemums in a poetic, feminine nature.
He describes them as a quick puff of colored smoke, which appeals to Elisa s feminine side. Suddenly,
Elisa begins to unveil her womanliness. She tears off her hat and shakes out her dark pretty hair
(Steinbeck 224). By being interested in Elisa s feminine flowers, the tinker makes Elisa comfortable
with her sexuality. Allowing her feminine nature to appear, Elisa becomes emotional vulnerable during
the business transaction involving her chrysanthemums. This is

One of Postman s theories was based on technological change as a trade off. According to this theory,
Postman believed that there were advantages and disadvantages to every new technology introduced.
There is an imbalance on whether a user s enthusiasm to share news outweigh their privacy values.
Gross and Acquisti s proposition to information sharing states that, users may be pragmatically
publishing personal information because the benefits they expect from public disclosure surpass its
perceived costs (10). To those who have become victims of identity theft through social media, the
disadvantages might be more obvious than to the general public. Social networks pressurize users for
information that consequently causes users to disregard privacy moralities. Further disadvantages
discovered by Social Networking ProCon include government intrusions, decreasing employee
productivity, promoting crimes, and facilitating cyberbullying.
Not all users on social networks will become victims of identity theft, but the statistics are alarming.
Even with 54% of social media profiles targeted for identity theft, 93% of user s still share relevant
information such as their full names and those of families. How social media identity theft typically
occurs is through unconscious sharing. Social networks encourage and often require ... Show more

When prompted by a social networks to enter personal information users can make modifications. For
example, nicknames can replace legal names and employer information excluded. Users should
choose their friends wisely, limiting to individuals whom they know. Though identity cases can still

thieves obtain information through a mutual or shared interest such as friend on a social media

Sacrifice In The Military
Sacrifice is giving up something you like, in order to help someone else, without expecting anything
in return. Some things that you can sacrifice are: belongings, comfort, or even just time. These can be
used to help the needy, or just give comfort to someone who needs it. A sacrifice is a way to show that
you care about someone or something, and that you want to help them. It could be something small,
like going to see a friend who needs your help instead of going to an activity you really want to do, or
something big, like giving your life to serve in the military.
There are many different types of sacrifice, be it time, money, physical possessions, or even just a
comfort. You can donate to charities that help those who need it. Everyday people make sacrifices,
even some they don t realize. One such sacrifice is helping someone do a job without expecting pay:
they don t have to help, and they sacrifice free time by helping. Another you give to a food drive, you
are sacrificing a possession, in order to help those who need it. When people donate to a blood drive,
they help people who might need it in the future by sacrificing the time to go there. These are just a
few of the types of sacrifice. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When you sacrifice, you can achieve goals, help the needy, improve a community, and more. Through
sacrifice, when we donated items for the food drive, we helped people that didn t have enough food to
be able to have some available to them. Another benefit is that when we sacrifice our money to taxes,
we help to improve the country, through improving our military to protect us, building better roads,
and more. Yet another example would be that when you sacrifice time to help somebody perform a
task, you are achieving a goal. Sacrifice can help people and places to become

The Establishment Of Six Sigma
Bill Smith, a senior engineer and scientist was given credit for unveiling the Six Sigma perception. Six
Sigma was an idea that was introduced to regulate the manner in which defects are calculated. Six
Sigma allowed Motorola the opportunity to focus on the valuable concerns within the organizations,
starting with manufacturing to office support performances. Motorola utilized Six Sigma to bring
progression to the negative features within the organization. Bill Smith intended for the establishment
of Six Sigma create a positive environment for organizations. Six Sigma is regard as excellence
management control; in fact employees are expected to remain current with their certification. General
Electric denoted that, Six Sigma is not a secret society, a slogan or a cliché (GE Company).
Six Sigma main purposes were to enhance performance and value. The use of Six Sigma in
organization can upgrade communication among employees, customers, and shareholders. An
organization which applies Six Sigma within their establishment is taking on a commitment to
motivate and instruct their employees on the various principles. In essence, the Six Sigma is has
become a way that companies can protect themselves from accountability. If a company produces a
product that is low in quality or can harm its user, the organization can use the defense that quality is
at the forefront in order to be viewed positively (http://www.tech faq.com/). The Six Sigma impacts

Film Analysis Of Blow Out And The 1976 Film Carrie
The 1981 film Blow Out and the 1976 film Carrie are just two of over thirty films directed by Brian
De Palma. Although they span an array of genres and topics, De Palma s films are recognizable by his
distinct director s touch. De Palma s films adhere to Andrew Sarris s concept the auteur theory, which
posits that each film contains the director s distinguishable artistic personality. This artistic nature of
both the film and director is evident in the unique and consistent visual style and thematic elements
present in each of the films. Blow Out and Carrie are executed with control and a special attention to
detail, so that each shot and scene is carefully constructed and inserted intentionally to drive the plot
forward. De Palma s films contain an expert use of visual grammar, in which the stories are told as
much with camera moves and editing as dialogue. Like many of his films, Blow Out and Carrie
feature certain trademark elements of De Palma s work: the recurring theme of the male gaze, and the
use of cinematic devices including a split diopter lens, slow motion, and 360 degree pan. De Palma s
use of these recurring cinematic tropes enable him to simultaneously place his unique director s touch
on these films as he crafts suspense filled visual masterpieces. Blow Out and Carrie exhibit the
recurring theme of looking and the male gaze present in much of De Palma s work. The films adhere
to Laura Mulvey s three forms of looking: the camera, the audience, and the

Social Media s Influence On Human Interaction
In today s society, social media has caused us to demote human interaction and reward imitation
connections and communications, making it hinder us from maintaining close personal relationships.
We would rather talk to someone over the screen then over coffee, and only identify the worthy
aspects of our life and disregard the undesirable. This want and desire through social media for a false
persona and false ties gives us an aesthetic good life , but ultimately hinders us from reaching a
genuine good life .
Social media has replaced most human to human interaction, leading to decreased physical and mental
abilities, making some lives less desirable. In Robert Waldingers TED Talk, The Harvard Study of
Adult Development, his second lesson learned was that people who are more socially connected to
family and friends are happier, physically healthier, and live longer. When this study took place, social
media had not yet been revealed, leaving them with minimal options on how to communicate with
people. Social media has changed the way that individuals interact, and in a sense, humans
themselves. We find ourselves conversing more and more over social media websites such as
Facebook, Twitter, and Snapchat, but when faced with actually face to face contact, are found
speechless. With this new technology, more and more are likely to not become as connected to friends
and family as the subjects were in the study, decreasing their overall happiness and hindering society.

Psychology Is The Scientific Study Of Human Brain And Its...
Psychology is the scientific study of human brain and its characteristics, especially the functions that
drives our behaviour (Colman, 1999). It is a type of study which emerged in the nineteenth century
and struggled in the first period to find the appropriate issues of a human to study. To be more precise,
firstly, the study was focused with determining the unconscious behaviour of human which later
transformed into analysing the behaviour of humans and animals due to the influence of the
environment. Later on, from 1950s onwards, the perspectives of psychology is determined in three
aspects, that are, humanistic, cognitive and biological (Colman, 1999). The first one deals with the
sole features of the experience of humans as they are free to think and choose their activity in their
own way which are fundamentally different from animals. The cognitive approach thinks with the
thoughts and mental processes of humans how they acquire, store and receive information from the
outside world. The last one is about the biological setting of humans and animals, which means to
perceive physical functions of the thoughts and processes portrayed through various bodily structures
and biochemical processes. From the above introduction, it is clear that psychology offers a vast area
of study presently, however, this question specifically asks about the mental progression of humans
that is the sensation and perception which drives them to behave in several ways. Therefore, the

North American Craton Research Papers
North American Craton The North American Craton, or the core of the North American continent,
makes up much of the interior of present day Canada and the United States. This area is home to the
earliest tectonic activity responsible for the creation of North America, dating back billions of years
ago. In the beginning, volcanic island chains, found near ancient oceanic plate subduction zones,
slowly formed and thickened into new continental crusts. Eventually these continents, due to their
size, became more buoyant than their surrounding ocean basins; thus, allowing them to begin
gradually growing outward over time with the addition of new material via subduction, sedimentation,
and continental collision. The center of the North American ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The oldest sedimentary rocks found here were originally deposited when North America was still
located near the equator, beginning around ~350 million years ago. During this time, periods of
shallow sea flooding left various sands and muds across much of the craton, which eventually formed
into sandstone, limestone, and shale. The landscapes of the national parks on the platform were later
shaped by the interaction of these sedimentary layers with the environmental conditions in which they
became located. Mammoth Cave in Kentucky, for example, is the result of groundwater slowly
dissolving the ancient subsurface limestone, creating the largest cave system on earth with over 346
miles of known passageways today. Similar formations can be seen in places like the Carlsbad
Caverns in New Mexico. Regions of this type are generally characterized as karst topographies. There
are also younger areas of the platform where erosion can be seen but, more predominantly at the
surface level, like Badlands National Park in South Dakota, for example. The gradual uplift of the
Rocky Mountains to the West led to the formation of several sedimentary layers in this region,
beginning around ~100 million years ago. Over time river and wind processes have left the distinctive
strata of silt and shale

Sustainable Development Conceptual Framework in Tourism Industry Context in Taiwan: Resource
Based View
Chih Wen Wu , National Chung Hsing University, Taiwan
Abstract: The purpose of this research was to develop and test a conceptual framework for sustainable
development in tourism industry context to address the integration of social, economic, and ecological
elements of sustainable development and the contextual nature of sustainable development. Resource
based view theory was used to model the driving force, state and response indicators of sustainability
development for tourism industry. Data was collected ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The concept grew out of dissatisfaction with entrenched policies of continuous economic growth and
unequal distribution of benefits and costs ( Bramwell and Lane, 1993; Hardy, Beeton, and
Pearson,2002). Similarly, sustainable development for tourism industry is found to be difficult to
define( Swarbrooke,1999), The term could be defined as a form of tourism sustained over a period
time(Butler,1999). Accordingly, tourism industry that meets the needs of today s tourists without
taking away from the future generations the resource necessary to fulfill their own needs. Thus, the
controversy exists over a definition for sustainable tourism development.
The most widely quoted definition of sustainable development is the one provided by the
Brundtland Report, the report says that sustainable development is development that meets the needs
of present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs, ( World
Commission on Environment and Development,1987,p.43). According to Wall(1997) and
Hunter(1995), two important ingredients are included in this statement: human needs and
environmental limitations. For the World Commission, the major objective of development is to
satisfy human needs and aspirations for a better quality of life for all people. In other words,
sustainable development means long term economic sustainability within a framework of long term
ecological sustainability plus

Policy Proposal for Economic Reform in Russia Essay
Policy Proposal for Economic Reform in Russia
Despite making a recovery after the 1998 market crash, Russia remains weighted with numerous
holdovers from the Communist era that keep its economy from taking advantage of free market
reforms. In short, Russia has not prospered under capitalism because it has not yet discovered it. In
order to do so, the Russian government must engage in extensive reform in several key areas:
improving the rule of law, creating stable monetary policy, and ending a policy of favoritism to
particular businesses. Engaging in these reforms would lower the extremely high transaction costs of
doing business legally, stimulating a wave of new investment and wealth creation within Russia, as
well as encouraging ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The lack of clearly defined and enforced property rights is another major problem. The communist era
criminal code has only been partially replaced, and each contract must be carefully examined to check
whether it contradicts an ever shifting mess of regulations. In addition, it is unclear what success the
communists will have in the next election, so long term planning is very difficult because the future is
so unpredictable.
Despite an ambitions privatization program, many of the large factories remain state owned, partly
because of the fact that their outdated and inefficient production would immediately and properly put
them out of business under a free market. However, because the government has so much influence
over the banks, it keeps funding these inefficient enterprises to earn the support of the many workers
they hire. Many of the factories that were privatized, simply signed ownership to their communist
bosses, and because of their pull with the government, stay alive by government aid.
Despite all the issues mentioned above, the biggest challenge to Russian economic growth is probably
its monetary policy. The Russian central bank is a direct holdover from Soviet times and needs to
change its policy drastically to adapt to a free market economy. In a capitalist economy, private banks
serve to store money and provide investment to business. Because banks lose their investment when a
debtor defaults, they are careful to insure that entrepreneurs

Maritime Collaboration to Locate the Missing Malaysian...
1.0 Introduction
A multinational effort to track down a missing Malaysian airliner on the edge of the South China Sea
is turning into a rare example of maritime collaboration among countries embroiled in territorial
disputes in the region. (Chun et al., 2014) An expert on international security issues quoted in The
Wall Street Journal (2014), Nonetheless, it s also a good example of regional cooperation on a
multinational rescue operation , adding on that the example could be a good model for the future.
It took the world by surprise when Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 bound for Beijing went missing on
7th March 2014. Many were in shock, and the families of the 227 passengers and 12 crew were
grieved stricken as there was still no news of the missing plane six days into the search and rescue
(SAR). Nevertheless, Malaysia is blessed to have so many countries that joined in the SAR operations.
The United States of America, Vietnam, Singapore, China, New Zealand, among others, deployed
resources such as aircrafts, ships, satellites and helicopters to aid in the SAR to locate the missing
plane.
The above case is depicted in this paper, because in essence, it showcases why foreign affairs and,
maintaining bilateral and multilateral relationships are vital for any country. From a political
perspective, such relationships are the main concern of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In Malaysia,
The Ministry has been mandated to pursue the nation s foreign

Facilitating Better Scheduling of Smart Grid
I. INTRODUCTION A key objective of smart grid efforts is to substantially increase the penetration
of renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind. As per the Solar Mission under the National
Action Plan on Climate Change, the central government of India plans to generate up to 20 GW grid
based solar power, and cover 20 million square metres with solar energy collectors by 2020[1].
However land acquisition is a challenge to solar farm projects in India, hence there is a need to utilize
residential roof tops for harvesting of solar energy. Substantial grid integration of renewables is
challenging, since their power generation is intermittent and uncontrollable. The modern electric grid
permits households to consume electricity in essentially arbitrary quantities at any time, and is not
currently designed for vast quantities of uncontrollable generation. Instead, the grid constantly
monitors the demand for electricity, and dispatches generators to satisfy demand as it rises and falls.
Fortunately, electricity demand is highly predictable when aggregating over thousands of buildings
and homes. As a result, today s grid is able to accurately plan in advance which generators to dispatch,
and when, to satisfy demand.
The challenge with substantial integration of renewable energy is that the electricity generated by
renewables is not easily predictable in advance and varies based on both weather conditions and site
specific conditions. For large scale solar farms producing

The Accounting Fraud At Worldcom Essay
From the time of WorldCom s inception there always seemed to be a tradition in management as if the
company was only 100 or so employees. There was a good old boys mentality among the limited few
running the company and if you were outside that circle then were told only what they wanted you to
hear. An unspoken rule among employees was to do what you were told without questions or risk the
consequences. One example of this situation occurred when senior management member Gene Morse
told an employee If you show those damn numbers to the f****ing auditors, I ll throw you out the
window (Kaplan, R.S., Kiron, D., 2007, p. 3).WorldCom showed no concern regarding an employee s

P., Coulter, M. K., 2012, p. 152), although it seems none of WorldCom s executive management team
seemed to feel this way. Many steps could have been taken to prevent the collapse of the WorldCom
empire, but only a few key managers held the power and none were willing to take action. One control
that did not exist in WorldCom s culture was allowing both internal and external auditors access to all
necessary documents and statements. Without full disclosure of these items no one could see how
many risks the company was taking by making fraudulent entries against their books. Also the
external audit team, Arthur Anderson, held WorldCom as one of its best customers which was a major
conflict of interest. This relationship lead to many fundamental mistakes from Anderson not keeping
pressure on WorldCom and getting all vital information that would prove how poorly the company
was being run. Had they been operating transparently, auditors and employees would have seen the
accounting deception and could potentially have stopped it prior to the company s collapse. In
addition, by employing multiple auditing firms many of the mistakes being made may have been
caught and discontinued from the beginning.
Corporate Responsibility The lack of critical information making its way down the chain allowed
WorldCom to continue its clouded disservice to

The Harder They Come Essay
The Harder They Come has gained international recognition for its depiction of the Jamaican society
post independence. It can be described as one of the masterpieces of Perry Henzell who released the
film in 1972 (Ceccato 2006). The Harder They Come can be described as revolutionary, as it sought to
remove many of the clichés that existed about Jamaica. Thoughts regarding the social, political,
cultural and economic situation of the country were eroded by the display of the Jamaican reality
through the film. Some years later Michael Thelwell was asked to novelize The Harder They Come.
After an internal battle with himself he finally gave in to the request and the film The Harder They
Come was produced in the form of print in the year 1980 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This, therefore, alludes to the idea that based on the agendas of the author and the director different
views may be projected. Michael Thelwell in novelizing the film opted to create something that as
more than just a mere addition to the film produced by Henzell. With this in mind, Thelwell
constructed the history and background to Ivanhoe Martin that was actually lacking in Henzell s film
and gives us a better understanding of the heroism displayed by Ivan or Rhygin. It is arguable to some
extent that novels are better than films due to the level of freedom that print allows. Furthermore,
Henzell was unable to provide the details of Ivan s life in the country within such a short period of
time granted that he directing a film, consequently these elements were not

Pop Song Analysis of Gorillaz, Feel Good Inc (2005) Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett stumbled
upon the concept of Gorillaz while they were watching MTV in their apartment; the duo found
themselves growing weary of the formulaic, commercialized, uncreative, and empty format of the pop
music that they were listening to. In the words of Albarn and Hewlett, if you watch MTV for too long,
it s a bit like hell there s nothing of substance there...We re the generation whose stars come from Pop

The reason God didn t want Adam and Eve to eat the fruit from the tree of wisdom was because he
didn t want them to become aware of good, and evil, god wanted them to stay pure and clean. After,
this they were put out on their own, this is kind of similar to the Skywoman. They sky woman was
doing something she wasn t supposed to do like eat the forbidden apple or like Skywoman she touched
the tree roots when she wasn t supposed to. The similarity here is Skywoman fell and was on her own,
but had some help from the animals. Adam and Eve were able to live with help from God but were
sent out on their own when they disobeyed his rules when they ate the apple.

  • 2. Macbeth And Hamlet Research Paper Within 1601 1605 William Shakespeare produced, what is said to be, the four wings of his spirit in the tragic division: Hamlet, Othello, Macbeth, and Lear. Shakespeare captures current beliefs, political history, and cultural events in his plays. Shakespeare s tragedies, Macbeth and Hamlet, were both written during King James I reign to symbolize the darkness and represent the insecurities of the time. While some of the happier Shakespearean plays, Midsummer s Night Dream, were written during Queen Elizabeth I s reign to express the happy, optimistic mood, and confidence in the people. Although, Macbeth and Hamlet have different settings, they are similar because the plays include the corruption of royalty, influential supernatural events, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many of the English focussed on the issue of keeping her femininity yet maintaining her rule. There was questioning of if a woman was fit to rule England or if her gender reduced her status as queen. There were also doubt on how she could provide an heir without relinquishing her power to her husband. This idea is seen throughout the female characters of Macbeth and Hamlet. In Macbeth, Lady Macbeth wants to take matter into her own hands, but states that it is inappropriate because she is a woman. She also uses Macbeth s masculinity to persuade him to kill Duncan. When Macbeth didn t kill the guards Lady Macbeth did; due to the guilt she later suffered from insanity and committed suicide. A month after her first husband s death, Gertrude married Claudius, handing the kingship to Hamlet s uncle, instead of the rightful heir. Gertrude is poisoned by her husband when he meant to kill Hamlet. Ophelia, the daughter of a nobleman who loved Hamlet, went insane when her father was murdered by her love. As a result of the unbearable grief she drowned herself in a brook. Lady Macbeth says that Macbeth has had these visions, and has been like that since childhood. Gertrude says Hamlet is crazy in love with Ophelia. Both female roles blames the males craziness on something other than actual insanity. Each of the female characters reflect the beliefs of women in Shakespeare s time. He expresses the belief ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. HIPAA Essay The Health Insurance Portability and Accounting Act (HIPAA) is geared towards the protection of anyone with Protected Health Information (PHI). It was passed in 1996 by congress placing new rules to protect PHI under the enforcement of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Under HIPAA anyone who handles health care information such as, clearinghouses, health care plans, and health care providers who transmits certain types of healthcare information electronically is considered a covered entity subject to regulation under HIPAA. HIPAA sets up two major rules addressing privacy and security. The first, the Privacy Rule, addresses the need to keep PHI confidential by limiting its disclosure and use. There are several means in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first is when the owner of the PHI requests it. Although the covered entity may deny the request if it believes it will cause harm to the life or physical safety of the requester or another person. The second is in the event of an HHS investigation. There are several other important individual rights under the Privacy Rule. Covered entities are required to keep records detailing the disclosures of a person s PHI. Although covered entities do not need to detail every disclosure, but rather specific types as detailed in the Privacy Rule. Also, any notices given to people about their PHI must be written in a simple, easy to understand manner. Other things to note are requirements to report breaches, and in the event that a person requests access to his or her own PHI, the covered entity must respond within 30 days with a possible extension of another 30 days with notification. The other major part of HIPAA is the Security Rule. The purpose of the Security Rule is to ensure that PHI is secure and requires that certain types of safeguards be put in place. This rule has three different types of safeguards put in place. The first category has to do with administrative safeguards. These are as follows, security management process, assigned security responsibility, workforce security, information access management, security awareness training, security incident procedures, contingency plans, ... • 4. Jackson And Andrew Jackson Andrew Jackson acted more as King Andrew who incited mob rule rather than the man of the people which he claimed to be. Andrew Jackson disagreed with different government systems, moved his friends and allies into the cabinet, and closed the national bank which proved that Andrew Jackson knew how he wanted to change the course of America and took less interest in pubic opinion. Andrew Jackson acted as more of a king than a president. Jackson did not serve for the people of America, Jackson served to change America how he believe it should be run. By ignoring the government Jackson acts more like a king than a president. Jackson went against Supreme Court decision and removed Indians from their land. As Jackson said in his Second Annual Message to Congress Jackson commented that, the removal of the Indians beyond the white settlements is approaching to a happy consummation (Doc E). Indians on the land that Jackson forcibly removed them from was delegated as their land by the Supreme Court. By going against the Supreme Court, Jackson did not act presidentially. Also, The removal of Indians resulted in countless Indian deaths and resulted in violence. Another example of Jackson attending to his own agenda was the issue of nullification and South Carolina. Jackson had a personal bias against John C. Calhoun, and threatened him when Calhoun exclaimed that South Carolina would leave the union if Jackson didn t allow South Carolina to lower or rid of the tariff on imported ... • 5. Puritan Religious Changes The religious changes that occurred in England during the early 1500s were less concerned with doctrinal matters. King Henry VIII, initially a Roman Catholic, left the church over dynastic concerns: He wanted to perpetuate the line of Tudor monarchs. Despite the emergence of an independent English church, religious loyalties remained deeply divided for decades. Actually, the English church differed a little from the Catholic Church, except for the central issue of allegiance to the pope. The remaining similarity was a matter of deep concern to many who felt that the English Reformation had not gone far enough. The name Puritan came to be used to describe members of the English Church who wished to purify it of all its pretenses to the Roman ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They were mainly similar politically. Socially and economically they had some differences also. However, one thing they were alike is that they both had a royal governors. Their royal governors were both chosen by the king. The king made all of their decisions. However, the king did try to make the laws fairly. He took what his people wanted under consideration when making the rules. Of course, not everyone can be pleased, so some people did not like the rules but they learned to deal with them. Another way the New England colonies and Southern colonies are alike is that their people got to vote for their lawmakers. Virginia had the House of Burgesses that was a legislature that was picked by the people. The Pilgrims had the Mayflower compact, in which they would follow. They both had early examples of ... • 6. The Internal Topology Of The Park Bench Topology: Internal Topology: The internal topology within this performance relies heavily on the fact that the stage is rounded and there is a single park bench (split in half and facing opposite ways) in the centre of it. The cyclical view of life is not only symbolically represented through the stage to the audience but also by the nature of the stage in regards to the actors. The two characters as at the opposite end of a shared cycle is also represented through the utilisation and manipulation of the park bench. Marion s book is able to represent the shift that is to occur as Marion exits the cycle of her life and the Girl is to enter. Thus, the internal topology as per the spacing of elements on the stage is instrumental in portraying the intended meaning for the greatest audience impact. One of the greatest challenges regarding the internal topology of this play is the notion of having an eighty year old woman meet a sixteen year old version of herself as the preconceived notion of space and time shifts. This is dealt with across the technical disciplines through the unity in developing their individual roles and the contrasting display of their relationship. The notion of such meeting can be perceived as quite strange to an audience when presented as reality however it is through the manipulation of their roles and their relationship, achieved by the various technical disciplines, that such occurrence is able to be achieved. This meeting, through the roles of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Carl Sandburg Chicago Al Olano Walsh Expo 11/ Period 6 27 April 2017 Carl Sandburg, A Zealot for Chicago Carl Sandburg was a three time Pulitzer prize winning poet, writer, and editor. As he was growing up, Sandburg s family struggled with poverty, which engendered him to drop out of school early in his teens to help contribute to his financially strained family. Sandburg was convinced by a man that served with him during the Spanish American war, that he should attend Lombard College; Sandburg took his advice and completed four years at Lombard. After getting his education he moved to Chicago and obtained a job from Chicago Daily News, as an editorial writer. Sandburg s works emulated his literary influence, Walt Whitman; both poets wrote in free verse. In 1914, Sandburg published his poem Chicago then two years later, integrated the poem along with various other poems relating to the city, and titled it Chicago Poems. In the poem Chicago, Sandburg commences his poem by naming various titles such as Hog Butcher for the World, Tool Maker, Stacker of Wheat, Player with Railroads, and the Nation s Freight Handler , the speaker has a very boastful tone and venerates Chicago s achievements during the nineteenth century. Sandburg was very candid and raw about the reality of Chicago and the cycle it has gone through despite grotesque circumstances pertaining to the inhabitants. The beauty of this poem lies within the fervent passion among the citizens of Chicago. • 9. How Opponents to Gay Marriage Offer Illusory Arguments How Opponent to Gay Marriage offer Illusory Arguments The book The Invisible Gorilla: How Our Intuitions Deceive Us by Chabris and Simons truly makes a strong case for how six different types of illusions (or beliefs) truly disserve the human population. The six common illusions that the book discusses are the illusion of memory, the illusion of confidence, the illusion of knowledge, the illusion of cause and the illusion of potential. Chabris and Simon argue that one can see these illusions at work in a range of human interactions and current events. Sometimes these illusions demonstrate the fallibility of the human mind; sometimes they just demonstrate the need of human beings to impose meaning or order upon things or events which lack both. A current issue that demonstrates several of the six illusions that Chabris and Simons discuss is the debate over gay marriage. Those who oppose gay marriage often demonstrate an argument which is full of illusory and shoddy ideas. For example, one of the main arguments against gay marriage is that allowing homosexuals to marry will destroy the institution of marriage. This demonstrates the illusion of cause. The illusion of cause arises when we see patterns in randomness, and we are most likely to see patterns when we think we understand what is causing them (Chabris Simons, p.155). The work of Stanley Kurtz tried to prove that allowing same sex marriage in Denmark, Norway and Sweden decreased the rate of heterosexual marriage ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. First Aid for Adults Essay First Aid for Adults For my listening piece I decided to do a talk on first aid for adults. I identified the main characteristics of scripted speech and tried to emulate them in my piece. The key characteristics of instructional speech are that it uses very short, concise sentences to give directions. Long complex sentences can lead to ambiguity and confusion. Instructional speech uses simple, easy to understand vocabulary as complicated wording, jargon and terminology make instructions difficult to understand and may confuse the listener. The points must also be presented in a logical order to make them easy to follow. The audience should be addressed directly, using a fairly personal, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In my third and fourth drafts, I put the information into even smaller blocks to emphasise the succinct style of writing because I felt that it was still too difficult to follow; so I used more bullet points and used capitals, underlining and italics to emphasise key words and phrases. Also in the graphology of the piece I have used dashes in order to more effectively show where the reader would give a slight pause. An example is in a hundred compressions a minute just under two a second . In the third paragraph in particular, the sentences were too complex so having originally written them as one complex sentence in the pluperfect tense, I broke them down in to one point per sentence and put them in the present tense so that it would be easier to understand. I also changed some of the verbs that were in the present tense into the imperative form because it made the phonology sharper and clearer for the audience to hear. One example is in the sentence After you have returned to the casualty and rechecked their breathing and they are not breathing or if the likely cause of unconsciousness is trauma or drowning and they are not breathing, you now give two rescue breaths . The sentence was much too long and confusing so I changed it to When you return to the casualty re check their breathing. If they are not breathing or if the likely cause ... Why does it hold such a controlling grasp over us? Why is Lust the only sin that goes beyond physical but to metaphysical? Because the human condition requires Lust for survival! Lust is becoming more and more evident in today s society, in the fact that businesses and media use Sex Appeal to increase profit and popularity. Art Ross talks about how and why sex sells in his article, Sexual Advertising on TV in the Post Sexual Revolution Era. from the book, Back Stage. He says that how well a commercial sells when using sexual appeal, depends on which type, and how intense the sexual acts are. One example he uses for how Sex sells is how Chateau Martin Wine years ago decided to use a rather hard looking blonde to lip sync their double entendre slogan: Had Any Lately? , which failed miserably. However, when they used their now famous double entendre, Does She or Doesn t She? , the subtlety and charm in both the words and picture, the ad worked to perfection. ... Film and realism are connected to one another; it gives the audience an opportunity to interpret the film in their own perspective, in relation to the real world. As someone with a firm opposition to editing and montage, Bazin stated that the mise en scène truly represents true continuity in film, reproducing the real world more realistically. This bibliography is a collection of articles that illustrate the story of Cape Town, South Africa, namely, that race considerations in one fashion or another permeate every facet and corner of the country s life. It appears almost impossible for South Africans of any color ever to get away, or to remove themselves, from this issue, although obviously the reality of race relations does not bear on all groups equally or in exactly the same manner. Sadly, these same issues are a problem within the United States as well. Although there are currently no peer reviewed articles regarding this same topic within places like Ferguson, Missouri, more research is warranted for a closer look at race relations in these areas. Education This study examined the relationship between race and educational expectations between parents and their children. Specifically, a longitudinal data set focused on educational expectations among black (African), colored (mixed) and white (European ancestry) parents and their children in Cape Town, South Africa. Researchers found that there is a strong relationship between the educational expectation among parents and children regardless of race, although the black parents and children had higher expectations than the other races, once socioeconomic factors were controlled for. The first one deals with the sole features of the experience of humans as they are free to think and choose their activity in their own way which are fundamentally different from animals. The cognitive approach thinks with the thoughts and mental processes of humans how they acquire, store and receive information from the outside world. The last one is about the biological setting of humans and animals, which means to perceive physical functions of the thoughts and processes portrayed through various bodily structures and biochemical processes. In the beginning, volcanic island chains, found near ancient oceanic plate subduction zones, slowly formed and thickened into new continental crusts. The landscapes of the national parks on the platform were later shaped by the interaction of these sedimentary layers with the environmental conditions in which they became located. Despite an ambitions privatization program, many of the large factories remain state owned, partly because of the fact that their outdated and inefficient production would immediately and properly put them out of business under a free market. • 32. Facilitating Better Scheduling of Smart Grid I. INTRODUCTION A key objective of smart grid efforts is to substantially increase the penetration of renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind. As per the Solar Mission under the National Action Plan on Climate Change, the central government of India plans to generate up to 20 GW grid based solar power, and cover 20 million square metres with solar energy collectors by 2020[1]. However land acquisition is a challenge to solar farm projects in India, hence there is a need to utilize residential roof tops for harvesting of solar energy. Substantial grid integration of renewables is challenging, since their power generation is intermittent and uncontrollable. The modern electric grid permits households to consume electricity in essentially arbitrary quantities at any time, and is not currently designed for vast quantities of uncontrollable generation. Instead, the grid constantly monitors the demand for electricity, and dispatches generators to satisfy demand as it rises and falls. Fortunately, electricity demand is highly predictable when aggregating over thousands of buildings and homes. As a result, today s grid is able to accurately plan in advance which generators to dispatch, and when, to satisfy demand. The challenge with substantial integration of renewable energy is that the electricity generated by renewables is not easily predictable in advance and varies based on both weather conditions and site specific conditions. Many steps could have been taken to prevent the collapse of the WorldCom empire, but only a few key managers held the power and none were willing to take action. One control that did not exist in WorldCom s culture was allowing both internal and external auditors access to all necessary documents and statements. Without full disclosure of these items no one could see how many risks the company was taking by making fraudulent entries against their books.
